Stifle their offense. Just thirteen points are lone touchdown coming early on a really nice catch by devante parker but just a great great effort. And you're on the ground for one hundred eighty nine yards you. Get eighty four for melvin gordon. Plus two scores. Yes the fumbles. "I Have Jay and Allyson demarcus on the show. How are you guys doing? Doing Great, how are you? I'm fantastic man I'm really excited about this I don't know if you is no like my history, but I worked in radio in Nashville. For twelve years, I never worked in the country music format. But like I feel like I was around, you guys a lot. So having you on this show makes me feel I had to move to studio city to finally hang out you guys. That's unbelievable. Usually happens just the opposite. Yeah. Right Sarah and I were skipping through net flicks. The other day we were like wait what is this new reality TV show and then you know how Netflix automatically starts playing the trailer. That's the dude from Rascal flatts I'm pretty sure they have a reality TV show. So we started watching it and I gotta say it's fantastic but I must applaud you guys because you you saw the Kardashians were saying peace sal and you were like hole in the market. Let's fill. Right now. I wish we were that calculated about that move. No. One can take the Kardashians place and we aren't even close to being like the Kardashians. It's really been fun now to do the show and have it out there and hear people's response in that. The outpouring of love and support has been amazing for us. We were very very nervous about it to having cameras, following us around because you really want to you only WanNa show people a little bit crazy. You. Don't WanNa show all the crazy. Yeah. No I come from the reality TV world where you're always just freaking out about the show airing because you're not sure how it's going to be added for you guys. Do you have any hand in production or say with like what the show looks like? Not at all we get to see it until literally the day before it started streaming the night before we got to see at right before that's not nice. No. Didn't want going in there going well I hate this shot which that you could cut this out say that way and you only picked it. So we had no say whatsoever what you see is what you get when you guys decide to do this and what made you decide to do this? Okay. Well, it goes back to being on a Christly knows best. They're dear friends of ours Todd Julie Live right around the corner. We've been on their show a half dozen times and he took. US Out to dinner one night he said I think that there is a show with your family. I've never done anything outside of my own family show but I really think that people would relate to the situations that you guys live through. Juggling, parenthood being married careers all of that stuff it's really relatable and you guys are hilarious together and your kids are unpredictably funny. So I would love to shoot a pilot with you guys and see if we have any interest we of course had. A lot of trepidation about putting our family out there and I I worked really really hard over the past twenty years with my partners and Rascal flatts to build a brand and I'm very proud of and I wanted to honor that to an honor them my partners as well. So it was important for me to kind of protect that and you know when Todd said that he would executive produce it and he would help me protect it the more we talked about in the more we. Felt safe for lack of a bad word and doing the show with him making sure that he was the gatekeeper in here we are and that that's been a little over three years now. So it's it's taken that long to get through the process into acting just win Lee were able to look at Todd Julius parents I mean there are Dear, friends of ours. But to see the kind generous and wonderful people that their children are never come even though they've grown up doing reality. That was like well, not everybody has to be a train wreck. Maybe there is hope. What was the harder sell was was getting your kids on board more difficult or was like explaining to your band? Hey, listen I'm going be doing this reality TV show what was the harder sell not the kids? that it was normal because they then on knows best in because their youngest grayson and chloe are friends of theirs. So they just felt like this is normal like everybody should just be like waking up shooting television show. Why would you not you know? So they were like sure we don't school tonight. Let's deal. It's a journey. Gary were very supportive because we were going to retire anyway. So. You know I could sit around the house be or tears I had to have something else to do. So I thought it would be fun to give this a try and it really was fun to go through the process with the whole entire family I mean at at best we're going to have a bunch of high quality home videos young and go back hits. People always like why did you go on the Bachelorette and I'm like well, if nothing else. Bunch of memories that are on Itunes that I can go watch anytime. So that's easy exactly and why wouldn't you take advantage of an opportunity like that? Well, embarrassments. You know let's not go through the list. It's Showing my father that I truly am the disappointment that he always said I was there's a lot of stuff guys. You on. Out there. You did this to me dad this I'm like I have. I am now so tied to the reality TV we're all I mean I film one every single summer in paradise in a so fun for me to watch how the sausage is made, and it's always exciting for me to watch people who are really good at making reality TV 'cause it's not an easy thing. Obviously, you're trying to be yourself, but you're trying to kind of be like maybe a little bit. Version of yourself maybe like a little bit extra. I wonder who on your show is the best at making reality TV. Well, I'm going to have to go with myself. I had to carry most. When you've got that kind of heavy lifting to do and you've got to be funny. No, you're so right out the one thing that I will say you're exactly correct about us. You'll get these comments from people like, Oh, it looks so scripted. So staged the thing about it is as you well know it's not scripted, but you have to make compelling television. You have to be interesting and you have to be funny you have to move story line along. So you have certain responsibilities to do when you're in any given scene. There were some people that surprised me that were better at it. Than I thought they would be and her mother is right at the top of the list from because she was very nervous about it. But boy wants the cameras turned on she came to live and I, was like, oh no, we've created a monster here. This is this may not be one. We can back away from here season to split off for grandma gets her own show. Todd Christly is the next Kris Jenner is gene. Yes. It's amazing. He doesn't know what he's doing. One thing I love about todd show is it still has hard in it at the end of every episode the love that they have for each other in their family always shines through no matter how crazy the episode may be in that that was real important for us to to was..

"And You saw first firsthand in your face. But. It's just interesting to me that Michael Jordan to them is Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain to me well, not lazy, though because you got to be more of a student at a game, because look at music for example I'm not just talking about music to happen. When I was in high school or College I'm talking about music happened when I was in. Middle School elementary able to grasp. Stop before I was done I didn't watch Jackie. Robinson played baseball, but I clearly know who years and what he accomplished. You just have to be a student of your craft I'm not. I'm, not gonNA. The fact that he just wasn't a student, and by the way talking about Michael Jordan ain't reach a deeper into the box score now if you like hey, named Nate, tell me where Jack Haley went to college then I understand. Michael Jordan short. Like. Classes. We're not getting a PhD. Plus two equals four. That's. He doesn't WANNA get out of there I'm telling you I'm putting this on what WanNa get out of here. That was all he wanted to be so. Yeah. He wanted you'd think so. Stuff like that. When you know stuff, he went sometimes you. Know. It's. GonNa be. It's one of those franchises. That, you would have expected to have some success at some point made the playoffs a couple times. But like that franchise with Michael, Jordan became the owner like Oh. We're GONNA. Get Jordan in the room. Free Ages are GONNA come there Charlotte's Loki great place to live. But you know what? Not Happening for the franchise. And if you, WanNa look some funny footage, and some terrible takes. Look at all of the people felt like. Oh, Michael Jordan going to be the owner of the team. So players is gonNA flock the. Felt that way I felt that way. You feel that way a little bit no I, told you this on this show no way. People follow opportunity money and wins not great.

"First of all let me just say thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us. I certainly do appreciate it. Thank you for having me. I appreciate you having that the second thing I like to do is to ask you to tell us about yourself now when I say that. Many feel free to go all the way back to when Benny I started all as you can start more current day. Tell us about yourself born and raised in Detroit. Michigan will actually outside Detroit. You know a couple of years from places to Middle School. And Grosse Pointe Mosul elementaries who rose point in moved out the Southfield and went to Detroit Country Day high school where I played three sports basketball for a ranch ride one to eight inches and buy raw and one in track championship. Long Jumper graduated from there might style ship offers to play for Bond College and chose to go to Michigan State University. Where but there for five years by four years leading receiver on in junior and senior there on the Rose Bowl in twenty thirteen one of the best teams initials state history when we went thirteen one. Nedley to seminated professionally. That did not get drafted. I'm currently wanted to my season in the NFL won the Super Bowl and Denver in two thousand sixteen play my first four years in Denver for the last two years. I've played in New York last as Peyton Manning. The plane would be lamenting though nine and author. And you know that's just a little bit about me. I am a brother team. Want rather than two. I have two parents and step mom so I had a great people around me and I've been able to do things in my life with the help is a family friend fantastic. I don't even know where to start. We're GONNA take a quick left turn and learn a little bit more about you. What's your favorite thing to do now for you? I'm going to say outside of football. I enjoy things. I enjoy travelling. Recently you know taking a couple of trips to Mexico I would agrees go to. La Lived in New York to travel. Highlights been time with family and friends love being around my friends and you know guys that I played with friendships that I've grown throughout the year. I do enjoy reading. That's why also why I wrote a book enjoy learning from April. I and I really movie out will love data. What's your favorite movie right? Now I would say green book. I really like an movie of all time. You know you got any denzel movie really this one. The greatest actors of all time so American gangster within her faith a thousand disgrace got it so talk a little bit about your journey because a lot of times when people think about athletes we all understand how hard it is and how you have to be disciplined and Yadda Yadda Yadda talk a little bit. About what it takes to be successful not just athletically but in general you gotta work hard wood. I'd like to tell people is that success doesn't happen in a day. It happens every single day. When you say you have to be disciplined after that the right at the set goals that you really want to achieve like a new one to be a professional athlete. I didn't know if it was going to be for baller basketball but every single day like I was working towards that and our talented anybody out there. Yes be disciplined is very important but being persistent stand persisted toward your goal like Adobe Wall Time It took me twenty two years and come a pro athlete. Isn't that something happened overnight or happened. After a couple years at Michigan state not had been working for this pretty much. Whole Life. Now always consciously gone toward something but once. I started at Age Fourteen. Fifteen years old like all right. I WANNA be a professional athlete. I'm working towards that every single day. So success doesn't happen in a day. It happened every single day goal. Said you gotTA break in long-term goals down to your short term goals and your short term goals in T- long-term wills data. Thanks this so talk a little bit about your book. Why a book reflection reflection of where I met in my life and that things that I've been able to accomplish as a team as an individual and also the people that have been arrived around so great players and I've learned a lot of grey base of why not share those things with the world. Does I know with certain books have done for me in my life. And that's why I wrote one and why not inspired me. So that's why I'm so when people pick up and read it. What are they gonNA take away from it? This is like a self help. Books like self actualize books. And they're going to realize that they have all the power in everything that they have that they want to achieve their goals or dreams right inside a woman. They'll just Meyer Goldberg from a semis stories. But some of the people that I have in the book like my brother or Draymond Green Dr Quiz demarcus ware also has some fringe were entrepreneurs or in the book as well because connected. One person in the world is Allie. I want them to also learn from friends who still have the same doubts fears and insecurities still were able to overcome those things. There are ups and downs in life if you really want something. You're going to have to stay precision discipline and go after it. And that's what I just want be learning. I want people to take away from it. Give us some insight on one of the time because I know I'm in a season and in time in my life where I have had the thought. Okay I want to give up. I don't WanNa to do this anymore. What about you have you ever had a time in your life or in your career where you wanted to give up? You wanted to quit. But you didn't and help US UNDERSTAND. What made you continue on? I don't think I ever wanted to give quit. I would always tell myself dot to give up or quit in. Ireland will just know that. I would have a lot of regrets if I did give up to quit so I don't think I've had very cut moments like man. I don't WanNa feel this pain or I don't WanNa feel dizzy or fear a life. I've always told myself like you're going to regret this. If you don't go back out there or try so I don't ever want to give up but I just like everybody else. I've had my fears. That's an insecurities but I'll always tell myself. You gotta go for the asked. You knew each yourself up. If you don't get it was was one of your biggest failures if you describe it that way personally. I don't consider anything that I don't achieve as a failure but talk a little bit about some of those moments for you. What was the biggest moment in your life where he thought? Wow Man that Dingo will. I have moments like this every year but the first time. I've really felt a big failures. Probably my Richard Junior year at Michigan State. That'd be twenty twelve and I dropped. Touchdown passes on a big nationally televised game on ABC. And now that was the first time where you know they gain was really on my shoulders. I mean only happened in the first quarter. But you know you know. Lose game first quarter but I like that play could have made by different game. That was the first time night. They'll those fears and insecurities all that nervousness said. That's when I really got into understanding the mind. How strong the MY IDEAS? I can care of your mind. How IMPORTANT MODEL

"Good Morning. Everyone it's time and you Chrissy. Confessions how are you doing today? Julie I am doing okay. I mean folks. I mean I don't know whether to talk about the tornado. Victims here in Tennessee are do I talk about corona that's infested and infected the world. I mean I'm just thinking what do we talk about other than corona? I mean. I've never seen anything like it asked my parents. They've never seen anything like it. I've asked my mother-in-law she's never seen anything like it. I mean who would have thought that the most powerful country on the face of the earth would shut until it's people they have to stay in their homes now folks. I advocate staying in your home. I mean let me be very clear and that cough that you hear Julia's an allergy. By the way and yes we went and both got tested. Because I am a hypochondriac between me and Jay Demarcus we keep our doctor on call. Twenty four seven. It's so scary and I mean it's and it listen it finally got chasing Savannah's attention. It has made them nervous. And 'cause when you shut down a country that tells you how serious things are. It is very very serious at this point. I mean folks I went to Cosco. Does that tell you how serious this thing was? Yeah right assets and this was at the onset. This was at the very beginning. Everything was really shut. Dan Yes you did go to twice you went to Cosco and because I was afraid that what if we ran out of something or whatever so I didn't want Julie exposed to anything so I thought okay as usual todd will take the bullet and I went to Cosco and I have to tell you. I love a cost guide. I do I love Cosco. I mean you can go in by like all this stuff in bulk. I mean you could find no that now okay now have only been going for twenty years but that's okay right but I mean you know I. I didn't know how to do it but I did it on my own. If you'll remember you had to send me a copy of our card right but but I guess my thing is is that. I hope that everyone is staying in. I hope that you're staying away from those people who are most susceptible which are the elderly and people with A compromised immune system Because I mean I'm reading stories every day of younger people who are literally fighting for their lives. Well there's one in California that that a under the age of eighteen that passed away yesterday. There's this young man in New Jersey. That's twenty something years old a picture of health that's now being transferred to was it paying hospital. Therein Pins Pennsylvania something for this new new treatment and so folks it's hitting everyone. I mean everyone. I'm going to take my mother food today. But I'm putting it on her front porch and then calling and telling her to come out and get it because I'm practicing truly social social distancing. I mean if I'd done that many years ago I'd had less trouble than one I've had but I mean it's it's to the point now too where you have to be doing what the doctors and the experts are saying to do what I found and you always give a shout out to anything that comes from South Carolina. 'cause it's where you are from. Did you hear Lindsey Graham yesterday when he was on the news where he said that if they did not pass this bill for nothing? It's two trillion dollars as the stimulus that he was going to go to the House on the floor and he was going to demand that the that the country stop paying everyone in the Senate and in the House and in the Congress to shut off their benefits and their pay until they could do their job. It's time to come to get time to together and you don't get to sit here at a time of crisis start negotiating for something that you couldn't get pushed through to begin with. But when I was laying in the bed listening to him I was like way to go. Lindsay is so true because it is an I do believe this is the Good Lord. That is saying okay. I put pebbles in your path and you refuse to look at it so now. I'M GONNA put a boulder in your match right. You guys are GonNa have to work together. Put Your differences differences aside and let's kit this country running again and we don't have to be a Democrat or Republican. A A socialist libertarian to have compassion for our fellow man. It's right I mean. Politics should have no play in compassion right and just taking care of each other exactly and so you know it's been a this whole thing has been very eye opening to the point that you know when you look at where we are and how people are responding to things and what have you. I mean it's it's it's overwhelming it really is. I mean I was listening to the mayor of New York talking and he was calling out the federal government shocking shocking that we would be doing that but he was calling out the federal government and saying that okay mayor. The governor the governor. I'm sorry Governor Governor Cuomo and he was calling the federal government out and saying okay but where are these ventilators right? Where are these what he was saying was? Why can't we put the supplies where they are needed? Most exactly because his state has more cases than any any state in the United States and I completely agree with him. You know we have it. Why things sitting surplus when we get people needing it. It's crazy exactly and so you know it really is when I look at you know I was in the grocery store because I yes folks I went to a Publix and this little old lady was in there and she was looking for hot dog buns and I had. I had you know two packs of hot dog buns in my buggy. And because that's what Juliette told me to get and they didn't have any more hot dog buns. I don't even eat hotdogs. People and I don't even care if how does our home Julia's the one who is determined. I guess she thinks that by eating a hotdog. It makes you more American. I've hated hotdog. My whole life and chloe likes them and again hurt her to have a hot dog once a month so. I had but you told me to get two bags to have overly so I gave this lady a thing of this hot dog binds and she said Oh honey. You're young. You probably have children. She says I can do without folks this little. Old Lady said she could do without. She was willing to sacrifice thinking that I had young children and that I needed a more than she. Well I didn't and I gave them to her. So you know it's those kind of things that there is still people out here that have compassion for their fellow human being yep and we need to continue more of that and we do need to continue more of that and I feel like that we in my family for the most part are very compassionate. People that we do have kind compassionate hearts but even I want us to be better absolutely we all can improve in
From Brady to Carr, ranking Bears' quarterback options in NFL free agency, draft
"Free agency. Starting soon as we mentioned earlier in the show March eighteenth four. Pm teams can actually out signings the signings and the wide receiver classes fascinating Jj. Because I think mostly because it sort of matches up with the draft class. This is a loaded wide receiver draft class studs and studs and studs. Nobody that's like necessary. I I like I tend to think see lamb and Jerry. Judy can be. I don't want to call them like Julio Jones. Aj Green types. Because that I think does a disservice to really any young player coming to the League to to compare them too borderline hall. Julio definitely the hall of fame. Aj Borderline Hall of fame to compare them to that type of player. But there's a great group of guys who look like they can be viable starters in the NFL out of the gate however they will have to compete with teams who resigned teams will have to decide. Do they want to ask somebody like that or do they want to size like? Aj Green should he make free agency? let's go through your top five wide receivers. Who's at number five number? Five number five. I have Randall COBB. Yes sorry I remember number five. I Have Randall. Cobb. Randall COBB. Of course coming off that season with the cowboys really difficult to see how they're going to be able to pay him And so as I was going through this and I thought to myself well thought. Where could he ended up? In fact I didn't think that's about self depot. Ask me where he could end up. I would have to tell you on your and some wanted to tell you that. I'm looking at an Indianapolis Colts a team. That was really struggling to throw the ball down the field last year. Now lot of that adds do of course which cover said. I understand that but I've never really been impressed with the wide receiving group that the colts have of course. They thought that they were going to have a few more options That did not work out with Devon punches. Who dealt with injury for most of the season. So Randall COBB. He's GONNA turn thirty before next season. He's at nine. Nfl seasons he had a eight hundred plus yards last year. I like him. What the colts and whoever their quarterback could be yes so it's interesting the question is would you rather have a guy like rental car bounced back nicely. Who Fits with the perfect slot style of of the modern? Nfl You've got three wide receiver sets etc etc. You can win outside and in some cases might be too old that now he's going to be thirty before the season starts or would you rather dabble in the shod. Perrin and sweepstakes and I might be inclined to agree with you. I like the PERSAD. Payment freaks me out like what? You're really like this Guy Ozzie. Newsome couldn't get this guy right and you're telling me that now like Jameis. Winston fixed him. I don't know if I'm buying it entirely woods. I would run away from shop Perriman. eighty might be fantastic human being but in terms of on the field play. I think that it was a flash in the pan how he sort of came on there in November and December for the bucks Certainly James with the five thousand passing yards sort of inflated his six hundred forty five receiving yards Paran- I just had issues for most of his career and I'm not willing to take a few weeks from last season. He's turned the corner. I kind of tend to agree with you. I wouldn't be opposed to like a one year not too pricey deal with precise payment but I would not want to make some big splash on that guy Given what's out there. It is interesting to this class offers. A lot of slot options like Geronimo. Alison is their Nelson Aguilar. Philip door set You can uh Devin funchess. Maybe didn't make the cut for. Jj surprise there. He's more of a tight end. Not a slot guy But then also demarcus Robinson who was very effective in Kansas City system. I think there's a lot of speed slack is out there so if I were if I were General Manager would probably at the top of the market. Do their own thing. Because I don't want to overpay for top of the market I would then sign a slack. If I got a young quarterback here I would sign a guy for agency at a lower cost and then go out and get by number one in theory in the in the draft. So that's probably why those guys didn't make the top five and I would tend to agree with you. Who's your number four on this list number four Robbie Anderson Levin love and coming off that season with the New York jets My best fit for him is the New York jets Because Gosh they really if they lose him. I don't know what they're gonNA do at the receiver position. They absolutely have to upgrade even by keeping him. They need to upgrade to upgrade that offensive line as well but seven hundred seventy nine receiving yards last season. He'll be twenty seven this upcoming year if enough teams and and if the jets WANNA mess around with this Joe. Douglas wants to mess around with us. He has been In conversations with with Robbie Anderson's representation if some teens get involved here and this is taken care of at the very started illegal tampering window or before. The price could go up on Robbie Anderson because of his age because of his speed because of what he did last season and then you can start approaching. Fourteen fifteen million dollars per year. I think the jets absolutely have to knock this out early and if they mess this up in some way if they decide not to bring him back. I'm looking at a place that he could go to looking at the Philadelphia Eagles who obviously could always use a upgrade. Their I the interesting seeing there may be some overlap there but the eagles need help it wide receiver. But I hope probably Anderson's faculty jets. I kinda liked that idea and I do think. There's a little bit of like say the Shaw Jackson to his game. That's an insult to the Sean Jackson as fast as to Sean Jackson Robbie interesting could be more of a position. He's he's more of a like he's a bigger body type of guy but who also possesses that deep speed. That might be complementary for the other pieces that eagles have so. I don't hate that idea. If I don't know how Roseman takes a deep dive a free. Hd but he's got cast a bird so maybe it happens a May I ask your number three is and then I started to say Emmanuel Sanders is your third wideout. He is my third wide out. And it's really just because age. He's GONNA turn thirty three. Where do I have him? The obviously he's not going to be in San Francisco. I initially till depot the Carolina Panthers and I said the Carolina Panthers because I'm not entirely sure the panthers are convinced. Honesty Smith is not convinced that they have a number one wide receiver they have DJ more. They have Curtis Sam. You hope that. Dj More is going to be that but what they seem to be lacking. Is that fantastic veteran presence in there and after I spent a lot of time will in the month of January with the San Francisco. Forty niners covering their postseason games. What I learned from a depot Samuel from kindred born was just how much manual sanders mentor. Those guys those young group of players coming up and how they were able to really improve their game early in their career after the trade for manual. Sanderson San Francisco did so I look at a team like the Carolina Panthers and I say. Oh those young guys could really benefit from a guy like Emmanuel Sanders however Emmanuel Sanders is kind of like Andrei Dala in in that like he elite should and probably only wants to play for a championship. Contender right. He's been with. The broncos just went to another super bowl and so we're talking about contenders we're talking about teams that need wide receivers. The New England Patriots is. They are trying to retain Tom Brady. That would be fantastic. Get sound radio. Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick said. Hey We got you Emmanuel Sanders and we got you this two or three year contract to finally finish your career in New England. What you say Tommy. Now that's great call. I think if you're the Patriots and this was the delicate line that they have to sort of walk with Tom Brady is. Can you go out into the mark like once we get to that noon at noon? It it's eleven fifty. Nine fifty nine on Monday can the Patriots manage in the span of about Let's see twelve thirty six hours. Thirty brought to us as a forty eight hours. Fifty two hours is probably right in fifty two hours. Can they manage to tamper their way into landing? Somebody like Mandal Sanders. Somebody like Hunter Henry and successfully like a- convinced Tom Brady to return if that's what they ultimately want their plan to be and if it is. I think that could be you know like. That's that's certainly a blueprint to having Tom. Brady back in New England. But I think you're going to have to get guys. Just beef up the receiving core for him if you want him to come back in my opinion all right the last two guys in this list that they're going to be the same for everybody. You could flip them if you want to Depending on your opinion of home and away splits for one guy in age for the other guy number two guy. Aj greed number. One Guy. Maury Cooper I beast I mean these are the first of all. There's a chance either. Guide makes it the free agency or Cooper could get transitioned franchise tag the transition tag depending on the CBA depending on what happens attack. Prescott's contract AJ Green. It does sound like the bengals franchise tag him but he throws a fit and says he's going to refuse to play for him then. Maybe that doesn't happen. What led you to stack these guys in this particular way. Jj Yes so I have AJ green at number two. Only because of agent injury concerns that He has missed something. Like twenty four the past twenty five games that the bengals have played due to injury So that is my issue with him. Amari Cooper last. We saw him was not getting the ball thrown as much his way as should have certainly against the Philadelphia Eagles. I felt that he still has it. Obviously he's young much younger than Aj. Green who I believe is turning thirty two this year. Amari Cooper is currently twenty five. He will be twenty six before the start of the season so If a Jake Reed were healthy he would be my number one with a bullet. No doubt about it on about his health and then So in terms of fits right We believe that. Aj agrees with the bengals eight. We'll extend the franchise tag if they do not then. I think that we can reignite the does job want to go to Cincinnati rumors and so just for the sake of argument. I through the raiders in there as a landing spot for A. J. Green. But of course I'm not putting too much effort into A. J. Green out to one of the thirty one other teams. He's going to Cincinnati. As far as Mark Cooper. I had no idea how the San Francisco Forty niners would do it in terms of contract and money but I have cooper going to the forty niners if he does not end up with the cowboys but again. They're the cowboys to do. Everything they can. To Keep Amari Cooper traded a first round pick for. It made a lot of sense. Not Not immediately when they made the trade form right.

"Game was great. But we're going to rewind to Saturday night controversial slam dunk contests watches. Aaron Gordon Dunk off the side of the backboard spinning. Razi -solutely incredible. It was one of Gordon's five fifty point slams on the night so he obviously one right now. No we didn't.
Brandon Krieg on Solving Real Problems
"In the pod Brandon. Krieg the founder and CEO of Stash Brandon. I did this podcast over the phone right after money. Twenty twenty and it's just a super interesting story for anyone that doesn't know stashes building that consumer finance company of the future all at Brandon. Describe what it is. But let's get into the interview brandon. Welcome to the PODCAST. Thanks thanks for talking with me today. I'm really happy to be here. Yeah you're in New York. I'm an la just before we hit record and we were talking about the weather which city is better but outside outside of that. I'd love to hear about your background. You from the East Coast like how'd you How did you get your start? Yeah I'm a born in New York and I grew up in New York and a night spent a number of years in Florida and then came back to New York in nineteen ninety eight and got involved in an electronic trading business. I have never looked back since so New York is a is my home. I've now been accurate for cash. Almost twenty years I love I love my time in New York. It's awesome so electronic training. That was your that. Was Your first job out of school or was there something else. Yeah I I when I got to school I WANNA I. I wanted to be a chef. I didn't know what I wanted to do. Or confused might just didn't know and I ended up moving to New York and found a couple of guys that were starting up a electronic trading business that was gonna be a consumer side of it and they asked me to join them and I ended up staying there. The company's called industry. I started there in nineteen ninety eight and I stayed there through An amazing amazing Entrepreneurs where we grew the business. We sold the business to a firm called nine capital and I stayed there for another six so I think it was eight. Eight and six was almost like the fifth call fifteen years at the same place that I loved every day of it and it was really to. We basically worked really hard to innovate A business where we provided a real time trading tools to professional investors. It was much different than what I'm doing now l. but it was. I feel like it was a good foundation for me to learn about the capital markets. Also be the force of change in Markets through electronic trading. So it was it was a it was a fun fun period and I feel like part of my life led me to what I'm doing now right so I I guess I'd like to hear you explain the product a little little bit more. It's like a kind of a high end E. Trade for for stockbroker for traders. That are more sophisticated. Yeah so straits business. This was around taking markets that that had a couple of issues one There was a lot of information leakage market. So you know this at the beginning was was when most of the orders redone over the telephone. And so if you gave your orders were broker and you gave your true intentions. You wanted to buy or sell a lot of stock. Unfortunately originally some of that information would leak out to the market. As the person executing the trade would start Start Trading and people would quickly figure out the true intentions actions of the order and then the market move really quickly you love. The other problem with demarcus was that there was a lot of fragmented liquidity. So this is without a time when it wasn't just the Nasdaq. In The New York Stock Exchange there were electronic networks have stock trading popping up in. There was nothing really out there to connect them all together other and so we created a smart router that looked at all of different places. You can trade all the prices on liquids and started making decisions on where to route that order and that's really the business that was in which was to put the customer's order and take the customer's order in trying to do the best job. We could an execution order on behalf of the customer. We did it as agents which means we have A. We didn't take any interest outside of our commission so our job is to get the best price and control the impact of the order on the market so it was basically about creating efficiency. For professional investors. This Hedge Funds Endowments Pensions Mutual Funds. And it's funny talking about it now. I haven't spoken about this so long. Like fumbling a little bit. It's kind of funny bash now for almost five years tonight really. Haven't thought too much about that but but it was on funding. What's what's really interesting? Now is a look back at all the work we did you. Oh at Ed Straight at night. It's Kinda really commoditised now. It a lot of that work we originally did isn't really special anymore. It's mainstream when I was starting it. It was really about combining tack and Financial Services. Like the chew I in Tech. I guess you'd say although we didn't have a fancy buzzword at the time and and And now it's just mainstream accepted. It's normal but when I started. It wasn't the norm. People thought we were crazy right so it was is is really cool. That is that is very cool so the last question here on the on the very beginning of your career is. You're doing something that people think are crazy. You said like you want to be a chef. So how did how did you get to this. Where would you try to be a chef de? I don't actually don't like cooking very much. I'm going to go. Do you know try and trading raining like where did this. Where does this opportunity come from? And then how did you evaluate like you were just like young. I don't addressing. Let's let's go do it. I mean look I mean for me I like the inherent risk and manage. Risk is something that I enjoy. I loved cooking my family's in the restaurant business. I decided. It just wasn't right for me because I didn't like the hours and the pay was pretty terrible and I wanted to do more of my life and technology was always closest to my art and so when I came to New York I was looking for something like marry tacking also kind of work close to Wall Street because I always watched all the Wall Street movies and those really cool never really understood that much. I just think it was right. Place right time together with these two amazing guys that I spent a lot of time with them. I'm still really close. A master all twenty two years and so it was really about the. The opportunity was right for me to to dive into something that I thought was really interesting. I had no idea where this journey would take. I think frankly you know I I still saved my first. He's dubs from when I started with It was a very very low amounts of but I like the business. I like the direction of the company. I like the market. Were taking on because you could see how inherently flawed God the market was at the time that company started and the risk was a no-brainer. And at the same time. I got what I wanted. which was to work can check on Wall Street which is really cool and not a big thing back out no none Brennan? That is super cool You said you were you were there for what like nine or ten years and then the company the company sold and like what was what was that process like like going through through an acquisition. That was really cool. I actually it was. Yeah I was there for nine. Years before was sold in the acquisition was amazing night was very thoughtful about helping us maintain the the culture and the mission nations of the event trade There and I loved it. It challenged me in all kinds of new ways because it was a much larger company with close to two thousand employees. I think we sold entreat him. It's like it was like eighty. I think remember anymore like eight people and we were you know we were a very it closed team and when we went over tonight they allowed us to be a close team went until prosperous Organization that was doing a a lot of things that they were a very big participant in the markets but not as big in the agency electronic trading side so it was a natural fit is where I saw acquisition really work and make sense and I loved it i. I stayed much longer than by deal signed for two years. I was there for five and a half and I did that because as I loved it and I love the people culture and But like anything. Sometimes it was time to go and I ended up leaving after five years and so have a ton of friends Aaron. I think it's a great group of people there that that do that. Not For me anymore but I have a new love affair which is consumer Mer financial services. Right it was a it was a good opportunity to not only to see this little baby that I helped start grow and grow up but also for me professionally to see what it was like to work at a much. Larger company
What The NBA’s New Salary Cap Projection Means For 2020 Free Agency
"It gets closed the trade deadline headline then you have GM sweating and Al and the GM's that really need to make a trade for whatever reasons. Those of the deals that may slip under the radar that may be the difference between a team really producing. NTN`Er team really not producing a right next to the trade deadline. Those the ones I I really wanna see because those the ones that are executed in haste there not couple cited some those have a tendency to be more one sided than any other traits that we see so. I'm looking forward to that a whole week. Well this whole week when it concerns the NBA trade deadline A lot of things going on right now with the rumors and all the stuff. That's out there. One thing I do want to tell fans out there before we head on out is that the I know. There's a lot of things that are being set out there from these experts from these journalists from these podcasts that you're listening to out there as far as NBA hardcore fans are concerned. One of the things you're hearing is bird rights pertaining bird rights. Oh this guy doesn't have a big rides. Oh the the team will get his bird rights. I WANNA make sure everybody understands. What are bird rights at Burger is basically it stands from? Yes Larry Bird dealing with the contract situation. -Tuation the Boston Celtics longtime ago. Basically it's something that's now done on. The collective bargaining agreement and also with the players and owners has been formally set up bird bird rights according to go ahead with sports lingo dot com user exact termination. Here's someone to quote them. Bird rights is a term used to describe a tactic an NBA free free agency or trading or trading where a team is allowed to exceed the salary cap at the maximum salary in order to sign one of their own players. That's something that a Lotta people need understand what it concerns the lingo. That's going on right now because you're going to hear a lot about those two words bird rights you know if they trade a player and the the team can still retain the bird rights or if they can't because if they can't that makes a lot of difference especially those tax strap teams those those that are over or close to the tax if they cannot retain these players if they don't have their bird rights so that's something very important key to listen to down the road over the next next few days whether team is going to trade for a player that they can keep their bird rise because it it helps these teams for the long term if they want to go ahead and resign nineties players with Saudi. I JUST WANNA go ahead give heads up because I hear all this bird writes this bird rights at at nobis explaining really what bird rights are player has asked to stay with the team for three years in order to earn his bird rights in bird. Ruts don't do anything. Help team avoid luxury taxes. But what they they do. is they allow an exemption so that they can basically pay the guy whatever they want they allow them to go over the CAP. It doesn't prevent them from making taxes. They can go over the cap even go into a luxury tax situation. But it still doesn't prevent them from pain a luxury tax. So t Michael Akers. For example the Lakers signed demarcus cousins to a one year deal if they signed him to a two year deal next year next summer then he would be a three year contract contract and at the end of that contract they would have his bird rights they could then sign him to whatever amount they want regardless of where they how over the CAP. The cap gap doesn't even matter to them it would put them into luxury tax of the gave him a big contract and they still have to pay the luxury tax but they would be able to go ahead and sign him. No matter are
Super Bowl Player Predictions
"All right Kramer kick things off. What is your first? I Chiefs Related Super Bowl profit. Well we started by talking about We started super bowl week by talking. About how one of the angles is this chiefs rushing attack I the niners rushing defense. which is the weakness of this team? They are San Francisco's defense thirteenth and adjusted line yards on the D. Line in eleventh and DVR against the run. This team has not gone under this total of eight and a half eighteen rushing yards. They've only got under that once in the last. Ten Games I it seems almost too obvious that they'll they'll be attacking hacking this angle so it gives me a little pause but like I said they've gone over this total nine out of ten. It's not a bad matchup. People will point out all with San Francisco's got a great defense. They got a good defense. They don't have a great defense against the run so there will be opportunity. Andy Andy. Reid is one of the greatest coaches in the again. One of the greatest offensive minds not to win a superbowl for sure not to win the Super Bowl but he he he gets running backs ax to produce no matter what they look like. So eight and a half yard seem silly. They've gone well north of two hundred in both games. This does seem really low. Oh I couldn't be jumped right off the screen emmy as a former tight end as a A former are you referencing as a former China and I also worked with a hall of Fame First Ballot Rob Gronkowski which Danny worked on the show as well we got a witness not know how to Pronounce Chore Four In Person. George sure calling worse. Instead of Chore Sports He Kept Calling at George Sports all right rob just one more time. He's like coming up George now the wartime I think it's the sports and then finally the Co host is like you don't know what a chore is like Washing Dishes Sweeping floors and he goes. I never did any jurors ores growing up. I was too busy scoring touchdowns to smile. This big GROG again channel. He thinks he's GRONK. He thinks he's King of the BRAS. There's only one continue the bras. And it is Travis Kelsey. I'm taking Kelsey to have more receiving yards than than kindle over. You're still you're still avenging. Take a loss in the albro category. I was bullshit that he didn't get in. And I think kindles little overrated and I liked the minus one and a half yards Kelsey Chelsea against Kendall that's risky bro. Kelsey is an a seasoned bro now older Keel. Those two young. He's only as a young and up and coming Bro. I I think he's again. This is just I had the early take. I kill sucks at home instead of adjusting to the optics or the reality. I'm GonNa just lean in. I'm going all in on trump. So you know. Sometimes you're presented with evidence and you just have to ignore it. I'm locked in. I'm okay I was GONNA see. Danny I know you gave me your props one. You liked Nicole Hardman. I just love McCall Hardman in this game we he. He caught a pass in the chargers. Game to really start the ball. This was the week. Seventeen chargers game caught a pass to get the ball. Rolling with our offense later had a sweep. Like they're we're GONNA use them. They've been waiting to use him for something if he's maybe it's a sammy. Watkins Pass. I would say if you're gonNA scheme something like that up the other end of it is going GonNa be somebody like Nicole Hardman McColl Hartman. Scores a touchdown in this game was three hundred over at my book. Make some money this guy. They've been sitting on what he can do all season. They've been waiting for him to get better at whatever the hell it is route running. You know timing. Whatever it is that he needed to do? He's doing it. He's more trust in the offense. I think more so than demarcus Robinson I think he scores a D.. In this game let me ask you Sean. Do you take over twenty three and a half yards over one and a half catch or over fifteen and a a half yards for longest catch. Well I guess I'll jump to my second one because it's literally one of those. How when I wrote it down McColl Hardman's that's total over? mybookie was twenty three and a half up to twenty six or twenty. Six ounce. Sounds like it's down to twenty three and a half. Do whatever it is. I like it over. This kid is a burner. Oh I think he can get it in one catch again speed kills and I think they're gonna be focusing on Hill. He's along I don't think is going to have a huge game now. Maybe breaks it off. Maybe he does but I think Sal is going in there with that mindset of. We're not letting tyreek Hill beat us in this game so I I'm throwing a little a little tiny tyreek hill and beat and didn't mention the field. That's always trying to move past that I feel like don't you. You want to protect yourself against that one catch for twenty one yards and just take longest reception over fifteen and a half. Oh see well that was total yards. But you're right I yeah what do you want to do. So you're saying I feel you'd be gets a catch. It's going to be like a twenty yarder. Always does he get the second catch to get over catch props over the total total yardage lab take longest or first reception is twelve and a half yards now. Hopefully they don't go to a screen or something to him. It's Y- yeah. Is it a reception as it. Total yards what we talking about my twenty three and a half was total receiving received but Kramer is making a case here and a good case. That maybe you're better off off just playing the over. I catch or global catch. He's only expected to have one and a half. So maybe two and they're saying twenty-three which means they're expecting directing two catches of twelve yard. That's an interesting way to all right so you talked me into all right. GimMe Gimme. I'll switch it up. I'll give I'll go over. I catch twelve and a half yards. Now no actually. I'll stick with my total because I want to. If he doesn't get it on the I catch then I have some live bets. Already have have too much stuff going to see what we're having here is. We're having the synapses firing in my going on right. Now we're in the car with with Johnny and Johnny's Janis driving and we just had a discussion that he was going to have with his buddies later. Now he doesn't have to have that conversation tech. We've sorted it out. He's not gonNA play. I cash over twelve and a half hour. We're going to move forward. What's your second point of the discussion? Sammy Watkins over three and a half catches this is I ah I I know I'm chasing a little bit. But I do like the angle that they are gonNA shut tyreek Hill down. I like the angle that they're going to try to shut Travis Kelsey down and and I'm probably going to attack props around everyone else A Hill and Kelsey are going to be the chalk your plays for the yardage rich props be more people will probably play those overs. So I'm GONNA attack is like Sammy. Watkins and I think he is the guy that is going to benefit the most. Because he's the guy that seems to be running more their possession stuff and as they stretch the field vertically Sean they call that taking the top off the deep and that leaves a lot of room in the middle for a guy like Samya walk in so I really like him to get three and a half catches. I mean you you got to figure how many throws is Patrick Mahomes GonNa have. I can't imagine he's having less than forty throws which means I can't imagine having less than like thirty two thirty two catches and then if you take the attempts so over or even the pass yards over with homes what is actually looked at it. Plays out in both scenarios. Where either they're throwing the ball a lot and winning or if they do get down there behind hind they're playing catch up? It makes sense for either a Kansas City win or unfortunately San Francisco win the over and and then passing the ball. It does kind of make sense. We haven't talked a ton about the running backs Darwin Thompson. What is he involved in this game I think so I mean the over are underway? What one and a half Kerry Russia rushing attempts? I mean there's lesean McCoy is persona non grata. Now he's he had some fumble issues he. He's he's actually quick and I have liked watching him break off a few

"demarcus" Discussed on Blogging the Boys
"Many many many many many things to demarcus ware snickers for hooking us up for demarcus. I spending some time with the ocho. I know he's a busy man and again. You're not checkout snickers on social media. I have seen this <hes> this this chain. You know it's <hes> this drip type. I can't believe i thought it was called. A drill not necessarily my most proud moment but it's really cool and again it's kind of it's like miami's turnover chain and they're gonna really you know raise some some money and it's a good thing to fund way for fans interact with the game and to be part of it's part of what the magic of social media is it brings opportunities like this which is really cool and really cool to see demarcus ware part of it in fact you might remember a demarcus lawrence last season. He had some some sneakers cleats which was really cool as well so this is awesome and i do things that demarcus lawrence is in line to be able to rock this this chain once or twice this season so we'll see that about does it though for thursday's episode road of the ocho. "And he awards and he still wears it he actually would in the hall of fame holiday speak so i actually had it but he still does and <hes> just something like that. I mean you you can go and get the chain like this but when you have big joy like that and those big diamond yeah you can't hide it got it going to take it from mm-hmm. You're not gonna take it for you from his house. That's right. That's right got to be careful about. What was it like and how is your relationship with the owner. Jerry jones down. There is great <hes> able to go in. He's really awesome with the former players and you can see that <hes> he opens the doors for everything. If for for anybody that comes in and it's been great <hes> just be part of the whole organization is sorta h my name in stone in star and that's why i wanted to do when i came in my my career in did that in actually would denver broncos will <hes> so but jerry. He's one of those guys man when you sit down and talk with him. I knew zeke zeke got off of that plane and he was coming to dallas cowboys so they're gonna sign him because what they did with me. <hes> jerry jones is over on the other side. He had his hello counter right there and he's sitting there looking like this. He's not smiling anymore and he's saying hey so. I'm gonna give you six years ninety million dollars. Do you wanna take it or not with no smiling really into deal. Get done that ever happened with me. In the bengals with the cardinals that was certainly not in the jerry jones when he was asking or answering questions about these guys and their contracts brought you up. He said that one of his big regrets was letting when you go when he did and or they did the organization. You're going to denver with so much left in the tank did you did you hear him. Say that and would that mean to you. I mean a lot to me knowing that <hes> he didn't want to release me but you had to because it's business and he's gonna have to release them guys. Eventually or guys are gonna have to take pay paycuts like <hes> if they wanna. They wanna say lil. Collins are tyron smith i had to you know backload. That money is detriment at the career you you know but you have to now. Go get those other players so you can have their free money so <hes> all worth it to win his work fifty zone grin on your face. You're right that's right so <hes> you want fans to follow snickers on instagram and twitter and social media outlets to <hes> to win rewards which player receives the chain each week and and <hes> that's going to be a fun thing to follow not just one week. There's going to be some excitement around this two markets. It was a pleasure. Thank you in great shape. Superbowl champion demarcus ware is thirty seven years old. I know it's my twenty seven years old..

"Sixty thousand sixty thousand dollars rights where sixty million shore item here that sixty thousand dollars it is on the table next to demarcus ware and it is the s of the snickers logo and tell us what this chain is going to be doing during this n._f._l. See the thing is i have opportunity to hartman and let me say this is put this thing. Maybe i don't know why the big apple out have an opportunity to partner with snickers in you know what up don't really reward award the player for being the hungriest fans also right. We're getting them involved in saying that. We're going to be able to performance wise you know give this bling bling chain here to the player that performance abyss but i think what really makes it different is charity part that goes with it. You know not not just on the field stuff but the off the field stuff as well and we want. The fans are really get involved. I go to you know all of the snickers handles right and help nominate these players but then at the end of the year how ever much value of this chain is is going to go to their charity and this was awesome about it because it's so we're around is not just about performances about off. The field accolades see my daughter sydney sitting at home right now saying esau through the superman superman. That's right exactly snickers. Is everyone else so. It's kind of interesting that you guys came up with this idea because university of miami's been doing chain thing down there on this island all the stuff and this is just a way to highlight great plays get players excited and all that other stuff. I had a former teammate of mine. He was drafted number. One fifth overall pick in the first round in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight in an rickey dixon was his name played at the university of oklahoma one of my favorite one of my favorite teamates dealing with some physical issues now and i just wish him always wish them the best and everything so he comes to me and he said because i i was the only t new and he said booms. I want to get a an m._c. Hammer chain the right. He wanted a big rig right right right right. That was the nickname ricky right so he goes to a local cincinnati jewelry store they they basically quote him thirty five thousand dollars in nineteen eighty expensive so i took them to a friend of mine who did exactly exactly what he need needed and wanted for only thirty five hundred bars but this thing is worth sixty thousand dollars. That's a lot that's a lot of black man. In this chain travel august the travels to whatever player gets that chain get the see what they're gonna do with it every single week which is going to be great but this is is the first time all right so i i well yeah i i. Here's why hope gets it. I hope that odell beckham junior gets at one with. I hope that donald we gotta give it very definitely going to get it. You know he's the best player in football <hes>. I hope that just trying to think i be given zeke because because he's hungry all the time. He's always sure you'll get him. Cam newton cam in a post game press conference be awesome awesome awesome god i'm just trying to. I'm trying to think of baker would get hungry player. Basically baker mayfield. Tom brady wearing something like this without outta town. I would imagine yes tom. Brady antonio brown tapes. That's the jerry golf has has again because his contract is so big that he he can afford it but you can give it to his girlfriend. Yeah flashiest guy that you played with lashes. Here's guy. I play with <hes> you know. The thing is i is larry. Allen really the thing is the quietest guy but the most close flashes got to have jewelry all my god he had a chain actually his bracelet was probably as big as that because how big larry allen was blade and it had forty two one carat diamonds wrapped around his wrist.

"She's absolutely incredible. Good morning markus good morning good morning fellow man. You look like you still play. Luc can be deceiving you walk in here man and now you've lost some weight and your chiseled in. I know you left because she had a bad back right right the couple years too early but i was just telling marcus. I remember we were at the a._f._c. Championship egypt game with c._b._s. When you guys beat the brady and the patriots get the super bowl fifty and then be cam newton those two games the super bowl and in the a._f._c. championship game you and von miller virtually unstoppable when i was staying on sideline watching you guys get after brady how many how many hits did you guys get on brady that day eighty now. I think there was a most in n._f._l. History i think it was thirty. Two you had quarterback thirty two quarterback. Here's combined between mammon and they say the quarterbacks. Don't get hit anymore and the rules are such where you guys probably are somewhat frustrated but that day they let you hit them. The thing is is that time it's the playoffs you gotta let guys get out there and play you can't be throwing a lot of flags because they wanna see the the excitement of the game and may involve and especially with brady brady. He doesn't go down and they still almost is one that game and then throwing a ball. You know they lost the game lateness season that cost them homefield advantage. That's where they ended up not being able to get back to get another super bowl and then in super bowl fifty obviously you guys were all over cam newton and that was another you know i want to tell us what it was like to get peyton back that year <hes> even though peyton manning wasn't the peyton manning that he had been prior to getting hurt but what was it like to have him back on the field for you guys as a leader thing when you talk about the sheriff in this what they call him he was able to manipulate the game mentally and not be physically there and we all know that payton didn't play his best game but he didn't lose lose decay right. He threw the ball. He didn't turn the ball over and he knew that our defense was the number one defense in the n._f._l. We can get him short field. We can score points. Do you would've won. The game had brock osweiler. Could you have made ahead brock osweiler stage. You're starting quarterback. I don't think so because i think that you know in the playoffs. We needed that momentum him builder in once payton <unk> came in the game. We needed that okay. I'll starters bang. It was at team karate. You know how when you go to o._t._a.'s training ninety camp. Everybody's pumped because they know who's playing. I was telling you use your you lose your offense of captain and now you get them back later on in the season and it's like okay now. Our boosted the biggest personality of exactly what we're g._o. With demarcus ware here on behalf of sneakers. We have to get your reaction. You spend most of your career at the cowboys still dole live in dallas to the big zeki elliott contract. Hold out is over. He's back at practice days. All the drama has subsided for a little bit now the attention to go to the debt contract but what do you think of that news this morning you know i think that's the best news that the cowboys could have heard for just a team in general especially going into these big n._f._c. east games. You got got you know washington. You got the giants the first game you gotta be able to run the football that is a run the football conference and with <hes> zeke zeke bamberg. There's takes a lot of pressure off of day. You know he can play like he needs to play and <hes> they can win some football game. How about their defense. How about the cowboys with the you know with lawrence right hand vansh right <hes>. You have miles jack..
Who is more important to the Dallas Cowboys: Ezekiel Elliott or DeMarcus Lawrence?
"Would you say is more important to the success of the dallas cowboys ezekiel elliott demarcus lawrence simple question well. I would say this is zeke elliott but for reasons that aren't as apparent. He had seventy seven catches ashes. He's a factor in their passing and we we agree. Zeke light is more valuable to the dallas cowboys and demarcus lawrence marcus lawrence pete over twenty million dollars. A year out of context is everything zeke. Elliott has two more years on his contract. He has no place to go. They could franchise him after that so that is a big look. He's really important but where else this is he gonna go. He has two years remaining. That's what makes it hard and it's not just the two years remaining the to franchise tag after that third franchise tag if they wanted so you could make the argument that dallas controls zeke's rights for five more seasons and get ice about until he decides through the collateral damage and all of this is the play the teammate you sitting there you you know nancy. We had the preseason bahamas. You're now. Everybody's focus week. One game plan in for the giants here. We're planning for the giants. We're getting ready for a divisional opponent and our best player has named reported. You know how much of a down of that is going into the the season will all everyone has all this optimism because everyone's owino right every it's a clean slate for everyone. You had a data zeke elliott. There hasn't ed's reporting and damian from a player's perspective. Here's the other thing anybody could get zeke elliott signed. That's the easy part. The context is dot prescott amari cooper byron aaron jones and starring see so you want your teammate in there but in the back of your mind as veteran. You're like wait a second. How much of the pies left for me so you have to really artful in terms of saying well. I got to be able to get jailing smith signing because he can't leave the marcus lawrence of good pass rusher but i gotta leave enough money for these other players because the starting quarterback he can't go anywhere. He may not happy elite but they've won. A lot of games with the sky is one. We'll say mike and i'm sorry but this is the dallas cowboys for for building team around zeke elliot. You look out of the dallas. Cowboys are constructed. They are like one of the few teams that their bill ronald running back. Okay so dallas cowboys put themselves in this position right now and now they're paying the piper because zeke elliott zeke elliott has perform and then maybe the top running back in the national football. He sees what the future is running running back position and he's sitting there saying i'm not i need it. I need to withhold services right now if i don't do it right now. I'm never going to get paid like like the other top running back. You're the best argument you can make for zeke elliott. They were fifth in the n._f._l. Last year and time of possession translate look at their defense. They were top five defense because they were never on the field. There were twenty two point scored but zeke elliott kept the their defense off the field bottom line. What's the eleventh-hour in this. I think that once you get to next week next week we get past monday or so monday or tuesday not complete the opener which again juries now bracing for an expecting and i think the problem with this situation with melvin gordon the longer it goes on the more things are said the more issues pop up we already heard jerry jones one say zeke coup which basically insulted zeke as agent so these things going. You never expected last year. After a couple of weeks. Steelers offensive lineman would be critical levian bell and they were and that inflamed the situation association and led to hurt feelings and eventually led to levy on bell sitting out the year so once you get this far into the game and they're so many sides with so much at stake everything is very personal sensitive and it's very risk but there there's a big distinguishment here. Fear does the work of reason. Maybe i'm bell was a free agent. J._v. soundcloud can be free agent. Zeke elliott's going anywhere at some point. He has to be reasonable because if he wants to play football is going to be all you with that but what i would say to you there is this in the next time zeke elliott steps on the football field he has he's not gonna be out there until he gets new contract when it gets a new contract what's the guarantees on that you tell me why would he stepped foot on fulfill. Find me take who am i sell it. I'm not stepping foot on a football field until i have my thirty forty whatever the number raising guaranteed millions of dollars and i'm not risking myself getting an a._c._l. Injury were some kind of career threatening injury. That would damage value. You keep your three point eight million dollars dollars this year. You keep defines. They come with that. We'll see how it goes if i'm sitting out the season and not playing and there are questions every day season to sabotage and if i'm jerry jones is stephen stephen jones. I'm betting on my offense align. I'm betting on good quarterback. I'm getting on the return of jason witten and every game i win. I'm more voted in my position and that's how why this whole thing is gonna implant and i've been in that situation. I'm like boy. We hold up without the role rears omnitel his agent we can but that's what kept me up at night and that's really where the cowboys are can only pollard pass protect. I promise you the first time that he gives up a sack. That's gonna put more money in zeke. Elliott's pocket and that's why i said at the beginning zeke elliott is right. The dallas cowboys right. Both sides are right now. The question is figuring out a solution that works for everybody that helps them save their season and help zeke. They don't either talk about it again on monday today to announce they are inactive ninety minutes before kick-off. I'm saying the eleventh hours like ninety one minutes as long as as long as he can get sign on that day on sunday before kick-off saturday four o'clock right he'd have to be in a roster exempt. It's a great point susan because they could get roster exemption so maybe they could sign him. He could work out for a couple of days but it'd be saturday and then as you're limit though

Is Dwight Howard Really a Viable Option for the Lakers at Center?
"Dwight howard is still on everybody's radar about maybe coming here to l. a. to replace demarcus cousins here's brian windhorst talking about how likely dwight's return to l. a. might be. I don't think it's a very likely marriage. I think the lakers right now are doing their due diligence on players unavailable centers joke him noah's another guy they've looked got and there's a process because dwight howard is a member of the memphis grizzlies he can't have free agent discussions with the other team so there has to be processed even have a conversation so that definitely taken place but dwight howard has been on four different teams in the last four years does not count the brooklyn nets who cut him and it may not glue the memphis grizzlies who may away the cut him if he can find a place to go well. I would imagine the memphis grizzlies would send a car to take him to the airport there. They're not going to be worried. I owe a the hands off dwight. You gotta make that he's our guy. They've probably got him at the airport the bus station or whatever it is they're going to do to get him to come to l._a. Lay the question is whether or not he's the best option here in l._a. Here's one horse talking about why he does not think it's a great fit. The lakers are in need of somebody who can be healthy and give them minutes minutes and that doesn't fit dwight howard or joe kim no art this point of their careers but i understand why the lakers are have those names on the list. I think this is unlikely. I i believe the lakers. Coach has won a younger more active player at this point in their careers a younger more active players sure but i don't know how often younger active are they walking around. I i was gonna say where where are they well. We did a poll of course obviously yesterday. Rods groups on twitter at which big man should the lakers sign and we put dwight howard or or noah it was fifty one percent a very close vote to dwight howard fifty one percent and i think you made a great point in earlier. Hey what do you have to lose. There's no risk you you know how much money and like you see one of these the n._b._a. Execs say hey they'll sign and if it doesn't work out just cut me. You don't have to give him a bunch of money. You don't get the grizzlies aren't gonna ask for draft picks to get dwight howard memphis. You just need to get him here and if it doesn't work and if at any point anthony davis or lebron or anybody else says you know what this guy i these gone. He's gone the very next day. There's no investment before when you're dealing with his deal and to get dwight is almost entirely unique. We've seen guys go from well-liked guys two guys that were less.
LA, Lakers And Achilles Tendon discussed on NBC Sports
"I get out to LA and chaos starts for the Lakers yesterday afternoon news comes down the demarcus cousins has had many sided tortured recent injury history he looks like he set for a supermax deal as a member of the New Orleans pelicans he tears his Achilles tendon right I believe it was and then he decides I'm gonna re have you goes out to Golden State then he gets another injury to his quiet I believe recently before that he also which I mean the guy has been a walking mash unit and now he is towards his ACL and they're probably going to miss all of next year based on the way he finished off the finals it didn't seem like you fully recovered from his injuries already and now he's got another one I mean I feel awful for you but you have to almost one ever going to be able to come back and play in the NBA hardly at all again and this is obviously a big blow for the Lakers as well as he was a guy I think that many people hope maybe they got a good bye on him and he's gonna be able to outperform the contract if they got him this is tough this is a big hit not just for the markets because it's but also for the Lakers and you always wonder when you have those injuries whether one leads to another and obviously we had a lot of discussion about this with Kevin Durant he's got at her capital Seoul entity goes out and somehow he tears Achilles and I think most people out there kind of anticipate that if you have one injury it makes you more susceptible not just to that injury but also to your body adjusting in trying to to protect itself and then you injure

"But I think the title or the column that was sort of about, hey, he had these guys DeMarcus Lawrence had Jerry, Jerry is a good negotiator. But sometimes the player has the Amer he also had the help of several local beat riders beat writers were out but racing to his defense on this thing. But you mentioned early on the labor from the torn labrum that's an interesting to go shading tactic. I mean, we don't see this. That often were player says, you know, what I think I'll hold off on this surgery till we get to sing done in. That is become a huge problem. This is a three to four month recovery from a torn labrum. So even now that everybody's hap. Happy at all this still. I mean, he won't be ready in my mind for the start of training camp. I'll bet they kinda ease him in. I if he plays in the one preseason game in that might be enough for him. But that that's an interesting part. He already put up the numbers. So he had leverage in that in that regard. And it helps that people like David Irving messed up. He's gone, Gregory suspended indefinitely and arguably I mean, do you think do you agreed with me that this guy's the best player on the Cowboys? I argue I was going to say is their best defensive player. But then I remembered sort of the evolution that we've seen with Jalen Smith and the vast potential of late in Vanda rest. So you'll have him over both those guys just say, probably so, but yeah, but but it's close, you know, it's getting close. But yeah, I think because of the position Jaki pies because of the unique rusher that he is. And let's put that into. Some kind of context, you know, I mentioned that he plays a run in the past with equal ability and not every pass rusher. Does that? But he he's recorded twenty five sacks over the last two seasons. And until they acquire Robert Quinn in the trade with Miami. Robert Quinn medicine, man. The only other player they didn't have another player on the roster who had more than nine and a half sacks during that same period of time. So we had nearly what three times as many saxes is anybody else on the roster and given that nobody knows what might happen with Randy, Gregory, whether he'll be suspended for the whole season, or whether for some reason, the Cowboys seemed to believe he's going to be available for week one forgot to do our.

"Like anytime something like this happens if people with what you have people try to do is they try to compartmentalize it into a place. Right. So they take soccer. They're like, oh, well, this is what happens in soccer Adam Jones headed situation that Fenway park. That's right. That that is a totally different sport than where DeMarcus cousins talking about this happening football players tell you about the things they here in the crowd. All the time. You've had games in hockey. Where people have have bananas thrown at them. This ain't about the sport in every time. Somebody tries to localize it in that way that MRs the larger point this racism stuff is not some isolated thing that just often some pockets in the way to people wanna talk about his try to put it off on this place. One thing cousins say it was I didn't wanna say what city these things happen. And he's like because I didn't want to put this all fan base. Because that's what happens it stops being about a larger macro issue. And it turns into will you know, how they are inserted. Place here, but there are solutions technological or otherwise, right? We have microphones we have cameras and arena is otherwise for Valence state. If the people who are doing this stuff truly want to ruin the fan experience for everybody. Right. Which is to say everybody is on a wire. Now, everybody gets taped recorded, then the NBA or any of these arenas concerned implement that. Or try this with that happens. Somebody like DeMarcus cousins DeMarcus cousins the whole team. It'd be like, you know, what we're not going back on the court until that dude, right? There comes down here and says this to my face, they will shut a whole lot of his down that happens that would work coming up vix is as a kid thirsty to be the Lakers coach or any coax any. To on DeMarcus is doing and maybe just at least show that you're gonna come down and DeMarcus DaMarcus has been I'm even double teams six years. So so it's like you're gonna single well single cover him on the block. He's going to be like, okay here, we go. I will say this. The warriors won't need DeMarcus cousins. To beat the Washington Wizards they'll need DeMarcus cousins to help with New Orleans and LA both LA teams when they're down there. So when it comes to him coming back, okay? And bring DeMarcus cousins into this. Hey, man. When would you like to come back, it'd be easier against the Washington Wizards, but they don't need him for that. And you might you might need them to deal with Anthony Davis, or whatever the the clippers are the we're up against, but I do know. And it's to your point you already suss it out. They have asked. Medical staff away and obvious. Rick celebrating Dr Rick celebrating Steve to weigh in Bob Myers away in but DeMarcus and his people to weigh in in terms of let's make sure we're all good win this, and I think that's really smart and really collaborative. Absolutely. It's not like him going. I want this day, and they're like, no. Or the worst saying you're playing this date or else like it? "Day. We've all been waiting for finally came to their DeMarcus cousins introductory press conference has been two plus weeks since news surface of the words were signing him to the mid level of five point three million dollars. And he's finally. You know, what's in Oakland was at the practice ity making his formal introduction. Bruce. You were there today. What what was your big takeaway from from the presser nothing particular came out of it, nothing really dramatic thought. It was interesting that he said he plans to come back not just in good shape. But better than ever, you know, he's pretty confident about the way his rehab is going. I think expect him to play in January probably pretty realistic. We don't know for sure, but you know, through some light hearted moments in there, which I think people kinda wanted to see he's he's generally not a terribly, you know, funny engaging guy he's kind of quiet and got a naturally skeptical. But he got off a couple of good lines. Somebody asked him if fee and Durant and in Draymond you just get in a big brawl now and get it over with because. Yeah. Might as well that. Yeah. You could tell it was joking. It's funny lines about Klay Thompson for being for such a dull guy, there's never a dull moment, and and it was kind of dramatic ac-. Standing there with that number zero jersey actually looking at the jersey that he's gonna wear and realizing that the warriors are going to have five all stars on the court that some point. And if he's the DeMarcus cousins of all that's going to be pretty pretty formidable. Yeah. I think that was the weirdest thing for me is, you know, there's so much talk about something like this when when the news breaks, but it doesn't really feel real until you actually see him on a stage holding his New Jersey. Even when they announced that they had a form that formerly signed him. It still didn't feel completely real. I definitely found myself a couple times during that press conference kind of letting my mind my mind wander and thinking I'm actually going to cover this this season. Like this guy is going to be on the same team. Kevin Durant, Steph curry Klay Thompson, Draymond green. That's insane. But there's a lot of reasons why this is happening. I'm sure anyone listening to this podcast kind of knows the basic backstory he had an achilles serious. Achilles injury in January. And because to him had no offers on the table in free agency..

"You have enough guys that can counteract that but guys like demarcus cousins and you see it happen all the time for would say it's fifty fifty based on guys that type of situation really in any sport one year left you're on the best team maybe in the history of the nba how do you screw that up how could demarcus cousins screw situations i'm trying to how do you screwed up okay the only way you screwing kevin durant breaks his nose yeah we gets in a fight he gets in a fight with some of the teammates he starts speaking out of turn because he thinks he's he's arrived yet he has no experience winning so nobody wants to hear from him right it's almost like a be seen and not her established yourself you know belonging kerr in that in that team needs to realize that as much as you're going to try to get demarcus cousins to buy into your system in your offense he's still going to have his moments you know we still you still gonna bring them over there to take your shots not be afraid shoot threes it's no three point shooter he's a big he can still protect the rim even though he's not the biggest the best jumper in the world so they're still going to be moments where he's going to be frustrating at times i would imagine but as long as for the most part he buys in it's not gonna screw up now go back to this him about himmelsbach tweet like say and i wasn't you know maybe not not pleased because i would have liked demarcus cousins for five point three i don't think danny would have got him anyway that's you know thinking through he's not going to get them anyway what are you gonna do he can sit there and say i think the full veterans exemption whatever the hell it's called the nba was like eight point something right so you could have went you could've went that far i don't even know if they have it to be honest with you i'm just wondering why they weren't interested or why why they relate to call but if you're boogie cousins where would you go would you where would you lame him i know would you go to until in january or would you go to the boston trying to change your image and prove that you are a winner where would you go forget about johnny shot in the see forget about your focus on this like prove that you're a winner doesn't count we'll cabot people who say you don't want people will prove it it's just like any other you know all star that you can get along you would have to leave on a winning team you would have to leave like kyrie irving did and show that you could be the leader and bring other people with you demarcus cousins goes to golden state he becomes a follower he becomes a plus one he's not the alpha male anymore he's not the most important more and more importantly they will say listen we did it without you we don't need you it'd be that's the beauty of this of this deal for golden state i think demarcus cousins knows you've another will they will basically say listen dude we got your from five point three if you get out of line we could actually be in the middle of a playoff hunt i'm sorry in the middle of the plants and we'll just cut you right here and then we'll send you a ring since you were part of the team but you're not going to enjoy the festivities that go into the parade you're not going to have the confetti fall on you you're definitely not going to be in a group picture with that trophy so to me he has every incentive to to stay in line as far as best case scenarios as far as getting the best demarcus cousins this would be it so if he screws it up i mean obviously he's not gonna go there and average twenty five twelve and ten no no but we all i'm saying is like the starter for golden state has been an absolute nonexistent just check in once in a.

"Dealership coming up next before you claim the warriors in demarcus cousins are ruining the nba you've gotta listen to a little history and we have to say next best for last around the corner by the way i was saying i don't i don't buy these coalisland going to the celtics groomers i just don't buy them i think it's a bunch of who we welcome back to the heard joy taylor joining me ric bucher was on an hour ago he doesn't buy these rumors that are being leaked by the san antonio side that celtics are very interested in making a deal with colli leonard here's what buke said are you really going to acquire leonard kyrie irving gordon hayward coming off of his injury you're going to build around three injury prone guys i don't think so yeah yeah i don't buy this this business were in when people want stuff out they put it out there and i don't i i do think the sixers deal could happen to have to be a lot of draft picks they would have to be out a lot of draft picks but i do think brett brown the coach there used to work under popovich they have a relationship they both hate the lakers they would do something but you'd have to give you know i mean they don't have gm is brett brown have the power to give up four first round picks because that's what pop wants pop pop you're not trading dario saric robert covington come on for colli leonard you gotta give them a ton of picks in san antonio if you get picks remember possible seventy picks her hope you can sell hope to the san antonio fans you can sell hope you can't sell robert covington all right people let's go best for last after almost three hours colin apparently hasn't gotten to the point yet quit holding out on us coward it's the best for less so people are angry that demarcus cousins is going to.

"This guy is falling demarcus cousins just think about this that the problem in the nba to me is not the dynasty the problem is the lopsided nature east to west talent twenty eight of the top thirty one players know leaguer western players espn and tnt don't want the eastern conference playoffs they would if they could opt out of those they opt out of them did to nightmare outside of the celtics but i was thinking about this take oklahoma city westbrook paul george mellow steve adams andre roberson for the next to me in four years that's very relevant team do i think they went to title no do i think they're dysfunctional somewhat but they're really talented they'll win playoff series just think about this for all of those of you saying this league is in real trouble let's just talk western conference golden state's dynasty that's never bad for any league houston is there number one rival and had them down three to the lakers have the world's best player oklahoma city is star studded albeit dysfunctional minnesota has two maybe three elite players the spurs of the patriots of the nba utah's celtics light that seven really talented teams in the west i have not mentioned portland which has the second best back court in the league new orleans who has maybe the third best player anthony davis or denver probably the most anonymously talented roster in the league i'm ten deep in the west not to mention the celtics vegas i agree win about fifty eight games next year and challenge the warriors in to the last three years golden state's been game seven in the western conference finals the dynasty is not the issue i've been watching this league for forty years this is the deepest any conferences ever been the west coast ten deep into you get till like denver denver is not an easy out the last three seasons for the warriors they've had a game seven against the thunder they got lucky to kowa got hurt the spurs were up twenty co i got hurt they've gotten breaks houston was up chris paul got hurt they have they have been facing elimination okay see was up on them co i got hurt spurs up on him rockets chris paul got hurt they were down three to the issue is there's just too many of the great players are all on the west coast and i don't have twenty i think there's only four elite players to me in the east jaanus simmons embiid and kyrie irving than a bunch of good guys gordon hayward al horford that kind of stuff john wall twenty seven of the thirty one best players in this league are in the west now that's a problem i never had a problem with the sec winning national championships but there was about a ten year stretch where it wasn't close right now the big ten loaded michigan's good wisconsin good penn state's good ohio states good i don't have a problem if alabama wins this year because the big ten you go look at at the all american teams it's all big there's a ton of big ten guys there's.

"La the same thing can easily be said for democracy might not be back in time what's the difference between saying he might not be back in time for even see that demarcus cousins right like i came back and had like a month month and a half with cleveland is an absolute trainwreck demarcus cousins might not get back 'til january february they're going to give them more than two weeks while they're going to trade deadline they're going to play him he said he can be ready he's going to be reading in training camp they said november maybe it's maybe it's christmas time january february there's there's no there's no need to rush him back but guys like demarcus cousins for them to so all of a sudden take you back seat to draymond green we who he probably thinks he's better than to andre iguodala probably thinks he's better than steph curry thompson durant okay should different players but he's gonna want his so you're telling me time and you're starting five does not include demarcus cousins demarcus cousins has to be involved he can't just be a guy who started five yourself know if you're telling me you're gonna put the way the golden state run through offense you're gonna like demarcus cousins like trot his way up and down the court and like post up and just go ahead and just slowed down that way no i don't think so i don't think so i think i think they're going to end up regretting on either end up cutting them i think he's going to be frustrated i mean he's going to be irritated bilby be winning so he'll be happy but he's going to be able to get his he's going to get his points he's not going to get his rebounds he's not going to get as many pachulia javale mcgee this guy here is you're going to have to adjust his game sure is he holds onto the ball too much for what they do but the reason why they've asked and i've read that before like you know the the steve kerr's offense the center holds onto the ball for like one point something seconds at cousins is holds the ball on the two point five on average seconds so he's got to get rid of the ball quicker well the reason why steve kerr's had to get rid of the ball quick because they've all sucked devolve sucked so it's like you get the ball quick look i look the pass that's what his centers have been protect the rim do some rebound and just run around with the other four just do what you do your thing when he gets back and he's healthy do you agree that it's the greatest starting five ever symbol than nba history no it's a better mix these or whatever the hell it was but it's the greatest starting five you've ever seen that's that's that's obvious it's an embarrassment of riches i get it but i always look at the situation and on paper it looks great you know we we see this all the time how do how do players alpha males like demarcus cousins and yes i will obviously cut him some slack for his time in sacramento what a nightmare with all those coaches and all the losing a mess and then to make matters worse and he goes into like you said they get better when he's when he's hurt they do they do better they're winning percentage rises when he's off the court and he's nursing his achilles so okay great so he gets the deal golden state is obviously the the best situation why would you turn it down and i just think based on the way he is and what he's looking to get after the season which is a huge free agent contract there's no way he's going to walk through this happily so what's the one thing that he proves that he could that he could get along on a team of hall of famers who are just basically not taking any crap yes it's the best case scenario for a guy like demarcus cousins that doesn't change his spots but he's who he is you already heard it like last year the way he was getting along new orleans was loving demarcus cousins now as it turned out they found out that that you know the nonni left they played a different style more little more uptempo which i would agree golden state's going to be running left and right but you know what was i do you've seen the athletes the.

"When you already had demarcus cousins so you had a lot of chances to execute and build a good team around tyreek evans at his twenty five and five you looking like an oprah all star and you have demarcus cousins who's the best in the game and you had a boatload of opportunities to build a team around those players so you don't even have to hit home runs you just had to pick solid players salaries asian players but instead you took jim refer debt who translated nothing to the nba he was never going here no basketball i mean point guard qualities intangibles too short to play shooting guard or get a shot off consistency consistently and then you take next out skits to show a no flashes of being solid rotational player but yeah dons it could really forces the songs could be integration if they if they you know the car came up so if they can try to get that because you know devon booker is pushing for that hard obviously if they could flip that one pig and i just don't understand why the timber wolves i know i came on the show today at during a play i think about trading you did but i was definitely like man let me calm down but they trip was it wasn't necessarily just because of his performances like just things are growing shake within the organization them i just day off they not feeling each other right now we'll have to stem from the playoffs gotta be fitted oh i'm sorry it's got to be he's he's got the reputation he's got the reputation again on players nerves and he's a beach player type coach at cotton tells maybe a player that needs a player coach honestly and that may be the rift that they have in the front office if i'm the timber wolves like head of the timber wolves and my young star player is.

"So you know maybe they will live to regret this because if they have to give the max the towns and butler both superior players then they're going to be really close to the taxi and it's unclear how much so that they can really pay this also to me doesn't have the complexity of a guy who is certainly the man or the emotional leader on his team know in those sorts of circumstances i can understand the pay the man ethos because they're the central piece this team inter wiggins is not the best player on the wolves he has not the best young player on the wolves he is not the centerpiece of the wolves are on or off the court he is important and he is immensely talented but we have to see that and why i am critical of this is just because for me with wiggins because we don't know what he is waiting a year was worth even if it was inevitably going to be a threeplusone albeit at low raises because we just don't know if he's going to be worth that ad i said the same thing with demarcus cousins i was wrong with demarcus cousins but i'm going to say here and why i think it stronger now than it was a cousin had shown more production than exactly is this point but older and more of a character issue right and also wiggins is going to be eligible for designated veteran extension so you don't have to be as worried by that threeplusone deal because people aren't turning down at least not yet we'll see if you know if he's going to be if you would be on the vanguard of that should he be good enough to but i wouldn't expect that so i wouldn't have been is scared of of him leaving after three years is minnesota apparently was and i just i'm just not sure of this so i've been conservative.
