Herschel Walker: The Sleazy Things by Raphael Warnock
"You know Warnock has a slum landlord which is really quite disgusting throwing tenants out of the building They own through a go between to try and cover up the fact that he's involved in that He's been getting money from the church Over $7000 a month according to free Beacon to help subsidize his Senate salary All kinds of sleazy things going on there aren't there He's got a lot of sleazy things going on He's also getting money for day care with what is he in mind and repaying himself from day care from his campaign But you know I think in the last cycle he got away with these things But in this cycle he's not going to get away with it because if he had went to Washington did the right thing by the people maybe I wouldn't have ran but I'm not going to let him get in that seat because that seat blown to the people of Georgia And he's not going to represent Georgia as a guy that doesn't care about the people because I do care about the people He's been trying to separate the people through his thing in the church when he said America need apologize for whiteness But he said that American has a problem and that's racism It is time for us to grow out of that It is time for us to get leaders in Washington please and the people that believe that we can bring people together rather than divide and people and you see what Joe Biden even last night on his speech and he said the market the threat of democracy is him being in The White House The threat of DeMarcus is senator one night with his hot gas price at this crime in the street That's a threat to the biggest threat of the Marxist those people there who continue to try to bring fear and to everyone that to vote for them but I want everyone to know this is not the new normal We can't get back together and get back to being energy independent We can get back to having safe streets again We can get back to getting CRT out I was schools We can get by the protecting our men and women in blue We get by having our strong strong military and it starts when we get out and vote just coming to you We got to get out in the fever that believes in this country
Dominant D puts Cowboys past Rams 22-10 for 4th straight win
"The cowboys came into Los Angeles and beat the rams 22 to ten for their fourth straight win head coach Mike McCarthy was happy A lot of excellent football today You know I felt like we played the way we needed to play the beat this team On the game's third play DeMarcus Lawrence scooped up a Matthew Stafford fumble and returned it 19 yards for a Dallas touchdown Tony Pollard scored the cowboys other touchdown on a long run Stafford had a TD pass to Cooper Cup as the Super Bowl champs fall to two and three Mark Myers englewood California
Lamb's 1-handed TD catch gives Dallas 23-16 win over Giants
"Cowboys came from behind to beat the Giants 23 to 16 trailing 13 to 6 Dallas QB Cooper rush directed second half scoring drives of 75 and 89 yards to kill Elliot had a TD run and credited the defense Defense they always hold it down for his you know when we move in a little slow and I mean they've been doing it all year I mean how many sex had a day What 5 6 so but another big sack game CD lamb added the TD catch while DeMarcus Lawrence sacked giants quarterback Daniel Jones three times Both clubs now two on one Mike mancuso east Rutherford New Jersey

"That don't know nema has a is a very all we need is the challenge. Then you'll accept it. I know that. Because whether it's damian lillard shot over the rockets twenty fourteen or the iranian national team using continuous. Say nema has had all can still make team exactly. Especially if i know i get making. But if for some reason like they're like man this kick. It hit threes if i'm on the g. league team is over. It's over comedy ronnie and started. I'm the starting point guard Jack charlie shooting guard where we're killing. We're killing asia love to. I can't wait to daddy still there long as the big men still can look. If you're working with aaron with aaron you'll you'll be you'll be set. I have no doubt about any training. As i'm getting stood out here in the mornings. I parks the handles. The handles aren't working. But if you need me to shoot thirty five at this point that's all it's it's the the only prerequisite that you need so we'll see but obviously so many stuff going on there. What else can we talk about it so much that we're about doing i'm trying to thank you. You're you're talking about call me a little bit. Like what do you mean. You're doing some cool stuff. There what's happening Yeah i mean. Classes started last week. The masters in sport management taking some classes. They're cool a win. A lot about the industry and some of the legality stuff which i feel like i need to learn at some point and then also some refreshments on sport analytics. Which you know. It's always good to just kind of keep our feet wet and all that stuff and Day class with a former guest of your show lanao more gray guy in grade class by athlete activism. Cowboys Defensive End DeMarcus Lawrence Will Miss 6-8 Weeks With Broken Foot
"Going on with the cowboys. Upfront what can you tell me about. Tank lawrence randy gregory. Big game for the cowboys here in los angeles against the chargers. What do you know about that. Yeah so i. I think like the you know demarcus lawrence obviously. That's a really unfortunate break for them. And he's had injuries in the past. And i i don't know if i'd relates that because there's a foot thing and it's sort of a free thing but he's going to be gone for two months and that like to me. I just sort of looking at how patchwork they've been and they'll get gregory back but like like you know with randy gregory and then over the years taking swings on different guys like alden smith and and and and You know and and if you want to go further back hardy And how they've just sort of continuous roll the dice try and get those positions right And lawrence was the one that they really hit on and now he's out for two months and you know. I think the cowboys defensively did a lot of things well in the opener but the fact is such a big part of the way that defense worked and i worked and i think dan coins a fantastic defensive coordinator but a big part of how the defense works seattle type of defense works is. Can you get heat on the pass or can you come from multiple angles quarterback and lawrence is one of those guys when he's at his best. He changes the math for everybody else. He's gonna change the matchups. He's going to get more guys singled up or guys are going to be favourable spa favorable spot because of him. So now you take them out of the equation and i think it's a big big loss for the cowboys.

"Apd for deal right right. The laws looking for law right. Because he's nowhere to be found. How many times have you said okay. Maybe too many times. I agree with you and your favorite website pro football focus ranked him last year. The fourth best edge not just rusher but edge player in football. And i'm like. I don't remember that because all i can remember is that cleveland came into jerry world and ran for three hundred seven yards it. Does he takes some blame for that. Back we've gotta take a little bit of rare for me to ninety five to ninety two sixty one on monday night football at gerry. World d. law on the field started every day. Okay randy gregory the other night you know how much i love him because i only love his potential. I think he's got pro bowl potential now that seems to have gotten himself clean and straight and knocking on wood for him. Scott cold okay. So but the point is he did play on thursday night at go right and he had one good rush early in the game. That caught my eye. I'm like here. We go and then what happened. Nothing happened he wound up with one. Tackle the rest of the game. No quarterback pressures tackle philosophy zeros across the board review reading. Remember him in the game. He played thirty seven snaps. What happened all the rest of de law he had the one hammer hammered the ball rojas hands and it was a big play in the game and i loved it and he wound up with five tackles which the way they were playing the other night. That was actually pretty great. But he had zero sacks. Zero tackled for losses. Zero hits on the quarterback. Well as a team they had zero sacks. We'll skip if you if you take. Gregor you take out d law and you say well. They came up to hand it then. It's not like your backup for better than those guys going tomorrow in brazil. Okay but arsim excuse me to bash dorrance armstrong probably in terrell bash. I do like i do. Like armstrong what jerry's raved about him. So i'm saying okay. Let's give him. A shot can be any worse than zeros across the board. I don't think so right so just remind. People was a fourth round. Pick out of kansas in two thousand eighteen and he did start three games last year and he does have a career two and a half sacks big whoop but the point is let's give him a shot and the only thing i know about drove basham is that we signed him at dirt. Cheap money just for bargain-basement grant money as a free agent and he was a third round. Pick of the colts back in two thousand seventeen immediately got cut by the colts and he gets picked up by the jets and he had a few flashes he does have a career seven and a half sacks. Okay so i'll go with that but the only thing i really know about him is hard knocks. I think it was the second episode. He's doing stand up comedy and it was. It was not very funny. Would agree like i kept wanting to even chuckled. I couldn't even get a chuckle going but he did impersonate. Guess who damarcus lar- well now he's got literally be demarcus lawrence. So you can do is voice. Can you do is sax right can you. Because listen de law made the pro bowl in two thousand seventeen in two thousand eighteen years ago but but still can you step in. Maybe so maybe he'll give a little jolt that those guys could to the could do de la was really good against roy. Although those games that you highlighted y'all be indicative of how well he can play winning just running completely away not complete with cover remember the reverse came to his side that ended up being the touchdown to ob j. Yeah i just think the thing is the questions. Basham is a smaller guy who basically the cowboys love his potential. Is he going to be able to hold up on. The run side of it de la was tremendous at the run. He did a very good job. Now i agree with you. I don't know what this fourth-best edge rusher of the entire donald where that came from need but okay but with greg. Skit with gregory andy. Let's give you give you that. You got four turnovers but you still gave up thirty. One boys used to top rated still threw for three seven nine and turtle came from pressures. It wasn't like you've got the ball of time. Bring saying you really caught it up. There was none of that. You chased him off this spot and he threw wild pick right right okay so my point is new coordinator dan quinn. This is what the hell game to me. This is where you just throw everything out the window. And you've basically throw the kitchen sink at that young quarterback and you just bliss the hell out of you got michael. Parsons just unleashed the beast. Just just let him fly because he's probably the best rusher on the field right the best pass now you. You are willing to rob peter to pay paul because you gotta have to sacrifice the back you like anthony binding single coverage you like those guys other than trayvon and other than digs you like those guys in coverage okay. Do you want slow death or quick. You know like. I don't you're up against it now. The odds are screaming that you are what you said in big trouble against justin herber and company. We're gonna talk about mike. Williams took a shot at the secondary and keenan allen and okay they. They converted fourteen of nineteen third downs against a really good washington front. So this game isn't about your defense is game. I'm saying on defense. I give it up to where if i'm dan quinn. I'm just gambling all day and all night. I'm just sending people from. That's why you paid that. The big got it away agreed. Okay so there are lots of ways to skin his cat though to speak but one way is to as bill parcells said before the giants super bowl remember he. He said against buffalo against the k. Gun we've got to shorten the game. Great okay one. Thing i did. The other night was he was incredibly deadly accurate with the football. Right okay. cd lamb. You cannot drop another pass. Dropped three the other night. You made three big plays. That almost cancelled them out. But you can't drop the pass and little. Cedric wilson is going to be in the slot and place. The gal okay catch six or eight balls underneath that they get first downs and obviously amaury can be amari. Best route runner and pro football. Maybe he can get loose for a couple of touchdowns and the offensive. Line that steel kid. He played okay last year. I think he could be pretty good. And the way i kept raving about connor mcgovern in places. Zack martin awry guard. He was sensational. Well guess what. He played at penn state for all year. He was these center. Well what's the week lincoln. The line right now. it's just. I think he got it handed to him the other night. He's the week lincoln. That line what if they quietly have moved mcgovern over to center this week. We'll maybe that'll short up. Because zack martin is back. I he was going to be the beta. Okay the veda and vague on hand to a lot of people. He's he's going to push them in the past because he is the biggest strongest force in the league. The way i look at this what would concern me even if my office plays well and it's a one possession game. Do you feel comfortable at the end of the game. That you're going to be able to generate enough pressure and keep the charge of for me. The time the game winning the game do not. I do not agree. You can't get in that position right but upsets happened because we saw all over the landscape in week one so if you do end up four or five point underdog listless go right and mike williams is laughing at the secondary. Let's go suck it up. Let's play a little over our helmets. This time you're going to have to. Let's hope that that answer is completely back. As the leader of this franchise he's.

"Parsons gonna get lot more action on the edge here in you know it's you know and then you're going to see really how much doorns armstrong developed. I mean he looked good in the preseason. But know that doesn't always indicate that you're gonna show up in the regular season so You know bradley. And i you know. We're gonna see you know chauncey goals this this opportunities guys here and you wish they weren't trying figure out what they were going to do in week. Two doodoo cova in due to your best player have an injury. But there's going to be guys and there's going to be opportunities and you think he's gonna scheme up some you know some some blitzes and just different looks that we're going to have to fight because i think they're going to get unique in the way they find pressure Bobby give us Give us a pep talk. The cowboys are cowboys. Fans should not feel like the season is over because and you can't say anything as it relates to dak prescott pep talk got. That's a terrible decision on your part I would say Rephrase the question. The question again cowboys fans should feel like the season is not over because in. Your answer can't have anything to do with scott. How tony i'm coming for unix. Because randy ray you guys can't copy each other. So bobby you got the benefit because because i mean randy gregory is out a game But it's not like you've lost. Lost your pass. Rushers for the entire season You've got never gallimore will be back at some point. They were really i him. I i think you're still going to be able to get past. You're still going to see trayvon. Digs grow kelvin. Joseph still needs to come back there. There's some guys there's respect yeah you know. Divide there's some guys that are going to be coming back down the road that'll make things easier for them But i mean overall the offense is really good. And i think the players believe in dan quinn and away they never believed mike mullen and so the defense just on efforts and chemistry. I think is going to be better. And that's all they needed to be competitive. This year was just better than terrible. Howman same question. You can't copy bobby or anything to do with tech prescot. I'm going to say that it's it's not all lost because their head coach in their defensive coordinator. Have both done this before in one of super bowl dan quinn's case he's he has won multiple times but he's been to the super bowl multiple times. These guys know what it takes to get there. They they they may not be the best coaches out there. Obviously dan is not a head coach anymore but they've been through it. They know what they know what it takes and they know that that injuries happen and the teams that go to the super bowl or the ones that can overcome it. Good answers Tony i'm spare. You change the question. What's not fair. what would you say tony to the demarcus the hype that hates demarcus lawrence because there are a lot like all there are tons of tweets out there. I now like. I got a tweet when i was you know everybody but i tweeted it out and then about it and somebody said oh no. We're going to miss out on three six. What's what's your statement to these people telling you about get you know you're about to find out how wrong you were right in science and this feels like the people that last year like andy dalton could lead this offense wrong then and you know what i mean and they're wrong now so if those are the same group of people then over for two in the last two years in their hot takes you know democracy without a doubt without you know without question. This team is not better. Without demarcus lawrence what he does on the stats feet is miniscule compared to how his effort in his run game and how he plays the game as a whole team is not better without it. And i would hate to say you know. We're about to learn our lesson but you know. Hopefully i'm wrong in somebody. You know If somebody comes up in the ranks and they play well but we're about to find out what this team looks like without him. Let's put this thing down. Flip in reverse it. Tony cowboys charges. Who wins sunday now that we know this news. I'm still on the cowboys. I you know huby. We shall not name right. You said. don't mention it. Don't mention his name so it was just okay. Dak prescott in this offense can shoot out with anybody right. This defense seems to be more opportunistic whether they drop in your lap or not there around the football more. There's more talent. there dan. Quinn is simplifying the scheme and putting them in more advantageous spots. I think they can win. Any football game. And i would not be surprised to see them. Still pull the went out common. I'm still going with the cowboys for the same reasons that tony said i. I liked justin herbert. But i think that's a better quarterback and more importantly he's in a better scheme right now because herbert is going to be going on game two with his offense coordinator in a very different from what he did last year whereas daqing killing go way back. We know what they can do when they're when they're working together robert I also believe in four god but that's not why Like i i mean you're always going to be competitive with him..

"You don't want it to be that one at the very least but tony what is thought. Or what is your thought on. Demarcus lawrence bobby has to step away from the stream. By the way he's he's gonna use all the money that alex has been thrown at best on the chats. But tony what is your thought on the culture in what it will be like without demarcus lawrence because so many people have talked about like. Oh this team doesn't have a leader on defense. People refuse to give democracies that crown. I think it's worth mentioning and everyone the stream. I know you're gonna freak out about this. But they lost tyrone crawford over the offseason. Who retired something. Mike mccarthy actually blundered to be fair when he accidentally told everybody but So they are down and not that he was a great player but he was unquestionably their leader. Sean lee retired in the offseason. Now demarcus lawrence has gone lose. the most. Who's the randy. Gregory gregory is on the leadership council. That was a big story. Throughout training camp the naval gallimore one of the most talented players on that defense is out. I mean is it a stretch to say that the guy is mike parsons in his second. Nfl game like who who. Who does that defense too. Because jalen smith wants it to be him but who do. They actually turned out. I mean you stole my thunder with that because that was kind of where i was going with it. Mike parsons right. They already give him the green dot calling plays on the defensive huddle the you know as you look at it. Demarcus lawrence is the best player on the defense whether he gets the credit. Whether it's the disrespect is there or not. The facts remain the same. The team is different. The defense runs differently when he's not out there and he's that type of person that you know. I think that the locker room respects him immensely right so when he says something you listen you can. And that's what i kinda loved about the hard knocks. There wasn't many big storylines or anything like that. But you've got to see our democracy to his teammates and you got to see how he interacted with the younger guys were fighting for position For for fighting for a job To answer your question mike parsons. It seems that he's got the attitude he's got the moxie he doesn't have an issue with You know mingling with these guys and you know. He's got enough confidence in his play. I could see him getting his. And i i mean i don't know if he's era kinda guy but we're i mean we're gonna find out in this week two game exactly who they're gonna lean on because that guy is no longer going to be on the field that's a great point That kind of made you made as well Your back just in time for alex's latest super chats says mike mccarthy drafted cd mica jason graft after talk interest and we don't have to relitigate the drafting of those. I know that upsets. Bobby no no no no. I'm just saying. I'm just saying like i think no i'm not gonna go get saying. I don't think it's fair to say jason drafted those guys meinhard. Does in fact. Mike mccarthy had very little to do with the twenty twenty class because he had just come into the job three months earlier. Scouts had been working on that board for an entire year. That i just wanna clear that. That's very much a different issue. I don't think you can give the head coach any credit mud much credit for who gets picked. A different office said that he hadn't met He didn't meet my. Mike parsons before they drafted him so he's not as involved as will mcclay or any of the scouts. All the great points i mean. Everybody wants to disparage mike. Mccarthy you guys just mean. That's what it is i'll just mean negative is can i ask you something are jay and tony and david i am. I was looking at us. We're talking about how like raji reference that this game against the chargers. It's one of the you know less meaningful games on the schedule ultimately but given that washington did lose to them last week and that is one of the top tiebreakers. If you're tied head to head you're tied the division. The next thing is common opponent. so is this game. More sneakily important to potential tiebreakers down the road now that washington's loss. Who do you want to answer it. I delegate has just around here okay. i'm glad you brought that up because When i looked at the schedule until tallahassee. I i figured the cowboys in the first two games had to come out of their one in one right. I figured out the right out the gate. I figured if they're not going to lose the if they're gonna lose the tampa bay. The half found a way to win the los angeles game because there are some the are some winnable games coming up after that so you hit the nail on the head with right. Washington loses his game. You kind of gain ground on them. They got to see a qb situation that you know is less than ideal and yeah i mean one hundred percent. You want to win the football game so i do personally think this game is going to be a little more important than what kind of giving a credit for bobby. They're gonna shut up. You I think i think it's a good point to bring up. I think it's it obviously makes the game important but at the end of the day i mean. The of the playoffs is very simple. You win you win your division you get in and they're playing in a fairly weak division At least last year was weakened looks to be similarly week this year and you know take care division games and that's gonna be what gets you there. Rj you may speak now So i'm gonna go direction that i didn't anticipate going on but i've been partly swayed by each of you so great job to all of you. I think this is important. And i hate to make this about like narrative. This is important because like what we've talked about like the culture. The who you are know what i mean like if you go out and and some of you mentioned earlier bobby depends on like how you win. Lose like if they lose. Just what if justin herbert like throws for five hundred dollars. So you'd have like maybe just ran into like an elite performance but if they go and they win such a powerful thing especially to your point the week after they'd be washington not only pan or beat them but their offensive line. Handled the pass rush. Maybe maybe they get you know they had. The washington had the lowest pass rush rate against the chargers than anybody else. That across the entire. Nfl in week one. So what if the cowboys show up entail basham endurance armstrong show up in like kick their ass. I mean that's a huge boost of momentum for a stretcher games is not. it's not necessarily going to be difficult but it does kind of announce yourselves not anyone but even to yourself. You walk a little taller. You feel a little bit bolder. And i don't want to say this team hasn't had that win. The mike mccarthy era because there is so small and short but the kind of haven't had that win i mean i don't count any of the i think the win in minnesota last year was really powerful because they came off the by the watermelon smashing. You hated that. Bobby trapped loved it so i think that was really really powerful but you know all of the momentum that tragically got taken away from them and things came about rightly so more about football or more about life than about football again rightly so so if you look at their they have one win with mike mccarthy and dak prescott that he played the entire game and and it was the watermelon kick game right and that was fun and exhilarating in dramatic and cool but it wasn't like a high quality win..

"That would be the literal outside of that had you ever. I mean i was asked the question. The super chat on the line. You know what i mean. I don't wanna not take the super chat seriously for the pittsburgh game right. It's two and a half hours before kickoff and might regard these just standing over by the tunnel at one of the pittsburgh guys cubs up coaches and talks to for thirty minutes. And the guy leaves. Ed mccarthy just kills time for the next thirty thirty five minutes until he got out there to warm up his hamsters kaffir or whatever is bugging him last year. But i've never seen a coach come out at all. Got hang around the field. Three hours before kickoff spent an hour just sitting out there doing nothing. It's just been most and you just you talk to people and you hear stuff about from green bay and even stuff now and there's a little bit of a question of like what is it that he's got his hands and he's not even making the calls on special teams. He's letting his special teams coordinator with a headset. Make those decisions. He's letting kellyn run everything on. It's dan quinn. Does everything on defense. This very little that he feels. He's got his hands in. This feels like the conversation that encircle jason garrett kind of circa twenty fourteen right like what's he doing could always say that jason was the ceo and the leader and like clearly did not have those traits last year. So if he does not do that. That's the only thing you'd be doing if you're the ceo coach like jason was. What is it that you're doing so okay. This conversation pivoted mostly because of super chats. They're not really my fault as the host here by the way dan. Somebody's fall back with the super chats. As coach clap garrett leadership was always a problem. Then i will bobby bobby. We've came on the locker around the league. Will we feel that way. But they will refute that. We've we've used this phrase thousand times but it's true at least. It was true up until probably buffalo thanksgiving chicago the week after nineteen they never quit on jason Ever never even when they lost to the jets in two thousand nine hundred and they came back and destroyed the eagles the following week. That was just kind of always a thing but the reason all of this is relevant. Helmand is because like to that point. You know cowboys. Lose to the jets super embarrassing. I lose them that you're they come out. They flex on the eagles on sunday. Night football deck. Has the hip dance everything. So i don't wanna say this is certainly not the first point of versity. Mike mccarthy is facing this might be the point of adversity. he's facing with dak prescott because the water never really got like hot last year. Yes they were to and to eric. One in three entering that game against the giants last year that they ultimately want went back at her. You mentioned it like okay last year. We didn't have a quarterback in two thousand and ten with the packers. He did have aaron rodgers so he has. That has that staple. He has the most important thing. So how does he respond. Because losing demarcus lawrence is not almost as consequential as losing back because there are people that don't wanna pay tank is do but this is this is bigger than losing out. This is bigger than losing randy greater this bigger than losing gala. This is about as big as it could possibly get for about half of the season and a season where a lot is on the line. I think. I think that this is really going to be the first test of what culture mike mccarthy has brought. We're gonna get to see what he's actually brought. And to bobby's point. I will admit that jason garrett was a he was incredibly great at establishing the culture he wanted and i think the issue and he also established the run. A lot on my issue is that i think it was ultimately losing culture. Because they didn't show up in the beginning that they needed to show up. How many years in the beginning where they win in. You're in week seventeen and they always lost. I think that I think mike mccarthy has a very different culture. And i think last year especially losing back. Because he's such a big leader in that locker room. It was a massive culture shift from what people were used to with garrett to what mccarthy has been doing in green bay and you can obviously debate how successful that wasn't green bay because of everything how it ended between him and aaron rodgers and how much of that was on riders. How much of. That was on. Mike mccarthy you know. There's a great debate there but he had the year to to these players to bring another guys he wants. He's had a. You're doing establish that culture. Any still has dak. Who's the heart and soul of that locker room so this is going to show us. Did that culture stick and if it did stick is going to be as much of a winning culture as it was in green bay We'll get to see. But i think it's definitely one of those years that is going to define mike mccarthy's tenure in dallas for however long it lasts. Yeah that's really true. Certainly this is this. Honestly it's make or break but this is going to go a long way tony. We've talked about culture by the way deep fried sexy. Not you howman. In actual defense sexy says lawrence will get back for the nfc east december showdown right. I believe four of the cowboys last. Five games against teams So i mean tear parliament's earlier point if you have to have democracy miss a stretch of time..

"David hammond you can read both of their find work epilogue and the boys and bobby bell who's new show. An old show cavs cast has made his triumphant return to the blog. The boys podcast network is here as well. We are all here to react to the news that dropped a few hours ago. Dallas cowboys pass rusher. The always under appreciated demarcus lawrence now has a broken fractured foot. However you wanna put. It's our pets heads are falling off so to speak. Is what. I told tony when we got in here Bobby i'll go to you. First how are you feeling and You know why don't we do from here. Russel dyer says time to sign alden smith so i don't know if you agree with that that will never happen. There's never going to bring alden smith back There's been a bunch of people have been floating out there. Alden smith won't happen I don't think vic beasley would happen. i don't know that he and dan quinn quite saw eye-to-eye olivier vernon won't happen olivier vernon torn achilles at the end of last season. And he from talking to people. He's still reacting that he's not healthy he can't play for anybody right now But i mean they're in a bad spot that i mean there's no doubt about it. I mean even when demarcus lawrence isn't giving sacks that even just clearly better with him on the field and so I mean you're already thin with randy gregory. But i'm at least that's just a single week. i mean they're going to be in a weird spot. You may see a lotta. Michael parsons jalen. Smith rushing the passer. But i mean it's pretty terrifying to think you're going. Terrell basham endurance armstrong for potentially like sixty snaps on sunday shoutout to alex pier. Sling here on the street with. We are streaming live on the block on the boys youtube channel and on the facebook page. Alex with the super chat says no. No no lack of confidence here. I think dallas beats the chargers. Definitely i think You know a lone wolf. I mean hey you know. There's certainly reasons to believe that that could happen. Bobby you touched on options for the garbage to replace demarcus lawrence that the time that's been kinda thrown out at six to eight weeks Almond it's it's tough to kind of figure this out here. Akeem says next man up. let's go sixteen games. Left crap happens. It's a family show everybody. It's not what he said. Just whatever jose says how. Why does defense always hold us back. How the cowboys are going. We're going to play this game. Down to starters on offense michael gallup at the calf strain in lisle concert suspension. Bobby mentioned randy. Gregory does seem like he's going to miss this game. That's at least what. Mike mccarthy intimated today in his press conference he's on the reserve cove in nineteen less scenario down to offensive starters to defensive starters and your defensive ones are your pass rushers your top pass rushers when you're a team. They didn't get a single sack last week. Granted tampa has an elite offensive line but the chargers offensive line. Not bad by any stretch. I mean if you were a what one to ten you were a what on the cowboys defense. And now you're a what. I was a all cheating. Say wait and see on the defense and still in that cheating But i think also to your point about missing starters. They're also still short novel galar. who's out. Obviously he'll be out and then donovan. Wilson reaggravated his groin injury that he had during training camp so it could be more than just just those two by the time. We actually get to the game in politics to to be positive. I think this is going to be an interesting point to see. Just how creative. Dan quayle can beat because he's he's obviously a very A very successful defensive mind in seattle and then didn't have as much success in atlanta. But he's shown already in dallas that he's changed his scheme up a bit. He's been open two more concepts and having somebody like. Mike parsons that he moves around a lot having some versatility with how he used safety In week one. I think this is going to really show us what dan quinn is capable of doing when he doesn't have elite talent like you know helgi hadn't seattle with earl thomas or kam chancellor and now he is short to your best pass rushers by far and get to see what he gets to do Event that is some optimism. I think not that you're like pumped about this album but this isn't the time to experiment. You know what. I mean like that. That time has come and gone so that is a difficult hurdle to get over Jay rod says on youtube sky's falling rarely wednesday. We still got four more days to go to see if anything else happens to your point about. Donovan wilson you know things can can really kind of shift Certainly in darker since Obviously it feels like everything is really bad already. Tony tanner says on youtube. Gotta have parsons rushing the passer much more now. Is that the most obvious answer here. I mean there are other routes to pursue. There are other players to pursue. We can all cross our fingers adorns armstrong jerry. Jones certainly believes We all believe in bradley unites bashing bobby mentioned there are names But at the end of the day. Is this something that mike parsons maybe list. I mean without a question. Now they gotta get creative a little bit right. I mean it's it's one thing to be rainy gregory for the week for code and now you're looking at tank lawrence being out as as long as he is Is far as week to goes. It's a tough deal. The look at this defensive line and say you know. Roll out there with what you've got now. You're going to get creative. You're going to be different with your and multiple with your alignment and you know you. Maybe jalen smith has the rest of the past a little bit. Maybe mike parsons takes on a bigger loads so it they just gonna have to figure out different ways to attack.

"Because he's going to make the right choice gotta trust him. But i trust him at the highest level. And what gronk oh wait. A second to safety is going to go. Well that means this big old defensive lineman defensive end demarcus lawrence is going to have to cover me. And he can't cover me so he just bolts. That's why people got to from that defense with the bears would run. That defense happening skipped is that they were taking a tight end blocking demarcus lawrence sharing the guy over. You listened hitting the quarterback in the back. That's why one guess. What what have we got fake like. We're going to block the guy and they go out okay. So tom's going to have to take it in the mouth because he took a shot and got back and he had thrown off his back foot and he had to throw his art as he could do it to get enough muscular on it to get it to grow right up to see. And it's ten yards touchdown. And that's that was a touchdown born of years of of of just connection. we're you completely trust each skip. Get this remember. We talked about that. We get derek decor was talking about this distance. What this day in queens special. We liked it. We know this down to distance this area the field. He likes to go to the deepest heads up. I can't believe they do in this. Yeah said about gronk. Even bill would say bill yes. He gets it all with their money. Now this the cowboys apparently called twenty-eight run plays last week against tampa but dak prescott audibles out of twelve of them dallas average nearly five yards per play on those changes and offensive coordinator..

Cowboys Kicker Misses Two Field Goals in Dramatic Loss to Buccaneers
"I i don't think there's any way of getting around at the tonight. A loser for the dallas cowboys. Is greg zero line. Let's let's your thoughts your thoughts on greg's Let's see here one second. This is a hectic night. Obviously greg line just amber says. I'm so mad right now on facebook. i'm with you. I get this. You know an anthony says not the same defense Tony says push off definitely a push off there at the end cowboys losing. Because the buccaneers drive. If somehow missed the game drive at the very kick a game winning field goal which just about no time remaining cowboys. defense can't stop them in the cowboys. Defense i will say kind of was a little bit of the same old defense. We didn't get you know a defense that was just allowing the bucks going on and on and on and on but this defense did get four turnovers tonight. But if we examine those turnovers. I think the only real authentic one was the demarcus lawrence forced fumble demarcus. Lawrence is definitely a winner tonight. I think demarcus lawrence was awesome. But the first interception the cowboys had the trayvon digs on was a tipped ball. Off of leonard fournette. Yes that counts. Yes that's true. Yes that count statistically but you know that's not necessarily your defense making a play on the ball cowboys also got an interception on. Tom brady at the end of the first half throwing a hail. Mary trying something before the half. That isn't really count. Although jordan lewis certainly had valiant effort trying to run that back and get some points You know the last turnover. The one that kind of turned the game around a little bit. That gave the cowboys. an opportunity. There at the very end Was just kinda. Chris godwin you know running into devante. Casey's helmet those things aren't necessarily You know something. You can replicate on a week by week basis and so for that reason. It's hard to give the cowboys credit. For all of those turnovers it was a different type of performance at the exact same defense we. I think we definitely saw some improvements. I think that mike parsons played moderately. Well i think that demarcus lawrence has mentioned played while randy gregory was on things But this was. I mean man. What a rough game for anthony
The King of Crenshaw: Neighborhood Nip
"Seventeen. Two thousand seventeen was a monumental day in south l. a.'s history the corner of crenshaw slauson was packed. Seniors adults kids. Babies spilled out on the streets in anticipation the entire community out there. The love and the building day was like dirt roof. It was his throat. See it wasn't just the neighborhood. They turned out to support some of his friends. Nba pulled up to like demarcus cousins. Like the entire community was proud. No nil like this was a huge steppingstone. Not only was it benefit him but have benefited the same area daddy groping which was everybody that was there. Thank me they were all there for the grand opening of the marathon store. A project more than a decade in the making a store the name of nipsy personal philosophy and that exemplified his belief in the power of never giving up. It just felt hopeful and victorious. Marquis hairs dawson is the council member for the district that includes crenshaw. The hud came out. Elected officials came out. Everybody was there to celebrate. It's the only time. I've closed a major street in my district we close lawson and nobody complains as nipsy prepared to cut the ribbon and open the doors to the marathon for the first time. He was visibly excited. Beaming ear out just a reception at a love is about to impact that you're putting on that community in inspire me to do the sane remind i want to be able to bring back to moscow rows ahead people received me in that same way i would be lying to say i wasn't inspired and influenced by new.

"Think in some ways now. I believe you've got a great quarterback you just do if you look through the years right. I mean we're talking over the last handful guys to win it right so it's brady or it's mahomes or it's manning it's rothlisberger rogers. I think seattle's the team the throw in there only because wilson's a great player. He's unorthodox they have weapons you know they can throw the ball down the field. The rams are a team. i don't know what to make the rams. They could win ten games and be of wildcard team. That wouldn't surprise me. You could also be really good. I just don't know the niners. If trae lance is the real deal right out of the chute And they're interesting because their defense can do a lot of different things. I just don't like what i bet against brady against a rookie. No i wouldn't as cheese fan. I saw brady play mahomes arrowhead in the afc title game and the chiefs in that game you know. They made mistakes that the patches didn't i mean even though the pats lost eternal valeting if you go back and look like there are some throws that she should have had should should have scored on a missed. Whatever i think it's got to be green bay though green bay as the team. They were the ones you last year. That game was on their racket. Like if you're if you're rogers and you retire and you don't want another superball you'll you'll wake up thinking about that game a lot of days going forward so i think it's but it's similar to the afc. Like i think the chiefs are heads and tails above everybody else again. Buffalo could beat them. You know maybe. Cleveland could beat them but similar to kansas city of tampa plays. Its best game just tampers better. I do now i i. I'm with you and and like seattle's a good pick to bring up because you know you can't just sorta have a two team argument but was seattle like you. Were talking about how. It was like the last year in new england with brady where everything's on his shoulders. This seems like it's been like with less russell wilson for the past years. Like he's gonna pull like two or three games out of his hat because of his feet and his competitiveness but they can't keep them upright when it counts and you know they're going to win ten eleven games. They're to get during the knocked out in the first round or the first not non you know sort of like wildcard round because once push comes to shove and you gotta you know like everyone's got a fire on all cylinders to win a game like you said like best on best and like no you know. No one makes the dumb mistake. Seattle can't hang. It's their offensive. Like still their offense. Blanca can hang and their defense. Isn't anything like it used to be always isn't let let's wrap up. Just look at the south itself and the question we have on for iran is Will it be over wrapped up by thanksgiving Maybe sam darnold goes big. I don't know the resurgent Falcons new orleans figures out their quarterback situation and just move on from drew or is this thing over by thanksgiving. What do you think. I think it's over by thanksgiving. But it would be a very bookstore for jameis. Winston mccollum hot out of the gates. And you know and and be like you know. I don't know like eighty three or eighty two by thanksgiving and and it's a real horse race or brady goes down week. One hit by a bus and blaine gabbert know like you know five and four..

Montana was a kansas city chief. Normally this out goes. I think might be perfect spot for a good all day. I i you know what would it be. Cool if let's say let's say if they did get air rogers but right now and you can't think about that. He's in green. Bay is i'm over. Who's going to be the quarterback right now between lock bridgewater right. I mean you you gotta go with the quarterback. I mean the both of great gunslingers but who can maintain that you know once you get that pressure string knows plays out like a aaron rodgers played against teddy bridgewater. And he's when he's happy he's a beast not going to get back there and to sack them. So i don't know him oprah grabbed now hadn't watched too much of them so give me a couple of games in holler at me. I'll i'll let you know let. Let's wrap up. Here are the cowboys in the playoff this year. What do you think they feed zeke in. They run the football like they should take the pressure. Off of dag Yes i feel. They can make the playoffs. They can go deep into the playoffs and the nfc's so you got within the division. That's what i just heard. Yeah i got. I got him wooden individually. They can do. It is but it's gonna come down to the end that division at the end. You're you're not overly confident demarcus which is fair right. Now we're in the precinct. Okay i wanna give out the preseason. This with any team would denver any of those teams. They this preseason. I wanna see some guys running around. I your biggest concern in the nfc east philadelphia. Eagles are sleeper that interesting. I think there are sleeper man. For some reason they've been real quiet. And i don't i don't know why like the philadelphia eagles are a team. Nets gonna merge a little bit. After all of that. They went through. And talk in the fletcher cox dave. They're real quiet man but they got their got their stuff in order car. I i didn't think that was coming. That's a good curve damarcus. Great to see you. Thank you bye on antillean. I have the strip sack of drew brees in the twenty eighteen matchup whenever you say strip sacked. I always think of strip sack. Mila when von miller in that strip poker so. I'm glad that you have will not dirty mind. So where's your brain. My gal apparently strip poker. I don't know and fulfilling some of our listeners are not complaining but continue it was. I was like reliving this moment. I looked at a couple of different like breakdowns of it. And i think the best one was drew. Brees sack party gives cowboys chance you view. That reminds you anything about how that game went like everyone was getting a piece of the pie. They're like we were out here. Knocking over drew brees that they woke up and they were like today is the day i hit some bitches and eli led the charge on that for sure. Well it was cool too. Because i mean this is the game again. We feel like we stand a lot of people because to ers as individuals podcast. I want everyone to win. It was dalton schultz's verse first touchdown of his career The the saints were like unstoppable. Right i think they're averaging thirty seven point nine points or something like that. I was reading You know per per game in offense in and they had won the ten straight in this no one could do anything about it and again de la that week was like on and lo and behold not only does the defense like have a fucking game like they're like nah were like we. Don't care sean. Payton we literally do not care that you are sean payton. You're incredible and you're gonna go down in history not tonight. They held him to one hundred and seventy six yards. And that's literally the fewest yards. They've ever been held to since two thousand one but it was just like it was it was just like a next level out of left field performance and as we all know like this even it this was. This was the rod marinelli days so they definitely had their moments in time. That were the positive. But this defense is struggled you more consistently than ny instead of have a performance like this against a team like that was just kind of legendary will and if you think about think the fourth quarter speaking of people we stand like randy gregory was he was having a game they were just they were going off. They were in rare form for how they were at that point And just brandy gregory. His third sack of the day. So crazy He stripped the ball and demarcus lawrence recovered it so they that brought them like up to what was twenty one fourteen which ended up being the final score de las solidified. It with a sack in like the last fifteen something like it was club dwindling down. He sealed the deal like do. I had a game in. He boosted everybody around him. Where Will DeMarcus Cousins End Up?
"Brings me to the demarcus cousins story. Out of houston. It's a strange story cousins having a solid year on a non-guaranteed deal february. Twenty seventh is when non-guaranteed deals either have to be guaranteed for the rest of the season or the player has to be released on friday. It was guaranteed early by the houston rockets. Then on saturday the reports that houston was gonna release him. Okay everyone said you know what they're doing. Demarcus cousins right teams agents around the league see moves like that where you pay a player for his time and people respect it so i start reading stories about demarcus cousins and why he struggled a little bit in houston defensively. How he's not part of the future on the athletic that totally mates sense. But that on sunday. When everybody's thinking is he gonna. The link is going to the nets. Well rockets coach. Stephen silas was asked. Is marcus cousins with the team. Is he leaving the team. Note here and he's going to be here for the foreseeable future so it sure looks like the rockets will release him at some point if they can't get an asset back in trade that can't get a second round pick back for demarcus cousins from whether it's the nets or the lakers but i think he will be joining another team and i for one think it should be the lakers. I think he'll get exposed on the nets because they're not a great defensive team and they will want him to be something really good defensively something which he isn't at this point he'll get exposed like to switch a lot. He'll just be out on an island way too much while with the lakers. They're already a good defensive team. They won't ask him to do too much and he was there last year so i think he can take a bit of a lesser role and be okay with that and they can get him the ring that he should have got before they released him last season l. A.'s the better option for me.

"I'm like, you know, I need to Master Lock here fair enough fair enough. The chat is affecting us that he he dislocated Kevin Love's shoulder. That was the that was the play you were thinking was You like? Yeah, I don't know why it's Dwayne. Wait, but it was yeah, it was Kevin Love and it was it was awful as one of the worst Thirty plays I've seen in basketball and I know there's been a lot but that one just stood out to me and I've never bought a white some sense that you know, cuz kettle of seems like a pretty good dude, and I don't know it just it really irked me understandable understandable. I get it and people are saying that they need to get a chance to square off with alenick in the squared Circle. Oh you go. All right. So let's let's talk. We need to talk about it the PJ Tucker rumors the rumored that the Lakers are are poking around looking for shooters. That was from Asian wage house key before the game. First of all, Gary Sheffield Junior. I mean this this is his like favorite. This is his dream. The Lakers are interested in trading for PJ Tucker now, they are not the only team I think that there is a very very good chance PJ Tucker is traded before the trade deadline. Why because he makes no sense on this team, right if they're getting rid of DeMarcus Cousins and not saying we're going to go young. We're going to go with the quicker players and all of that PJ Tucker makes no sense. They're John Wall kind of makes no sense either but his contract is so big. You can't really move him or do anything with him. Their cleavage need the Rockets are going to rebuild and PJ Tucker is a guy who can help a lot of teams a guy who can shoot threes and defend three-and-d Wing player Chris. What do you think about that Target? Is that somebody that you you're happy to hear the Lakers connected to? Definitely not upset about it. I'm very happy for getting like this favorite player. You know, PJ Tucker has one of the greatest shoe collection, but that decide that that is true all the kicks. Yes. But yeah, I mean, that's a great addition. I think that's kind of an upgrade to what you consider that maybe an upgrade for a martini. Absolutely. Yes, 100% hundred percent upgrade. I think he's got a lot more versatility as a wing defender in terms of he can do a better job on a Kawai or a Paul George not that he's going to stop them but he's slightly more quick footed than Markieff is Mark has bigger taller but but PJ Tucker, I think is that better three indy-style wing player and off. So, yeah, I think you'd be an upgrade over Marquis. Yeah, I think it's all what you said the versatility and PJ compared to Marty and just yeah, I think that would be a good addition. I definitely wouldn't be mad at that. Let's put it that way and then that gives somebody, you know, cuz we always look at that or at least we did look at that Clippers matchup. I mean, I think we're still looking at it, but we're obviously looking at a potential let's match up as well. But yeah, I like the idea of PJ Tucker now, here's the challenge Chris making a trade work. The Lakers are less than a million dollars away from the hard cap. So let's say this is your let's say that the Houston Rockets and they're going to get plenty of offers for PJ Tucker. There's three in D Wing Defenders are always in demand and so they're getting a plenty of offers but let's say the Rockets really want to do a deal with the linkage whatever reason And PJ Tucker's making just under eight million dollars..

"All right, Chris. So the next man up award goes to not LeBron not Anthony Davis if they're both healthy, we're talking about who's the next guy to step up for the Lakers that has not a superstar level player. Who do you have that as your next man up tonight? I think you're going to agree with this probably most likely Nationwide. I don't you know trans had a good fourth quarter and you know even West Matthews was good at certain points of the game, but I think if we were going to hand it to one person, I think you'd have to be cous cous started out. I just we love what we've been seeing from Coos lately and we got all of that plus we got off, uh more more scoring out of Clues which obviously we need with the absence of a d and shrewder so I would go. Khus. I'm betting you probably are going to go. Khus but let's go down there with you a hundred percent. I think that this is and I love the games where there's like five guys that we could potentially give it to you. And then we have a little bit of a debate because that means a lot of guys played really well, but now I think it's Gotta Be Kyle kuzma tone night. He was tremendous Kyle kuzma 23 points for boards eight of 21 shooting for of 11 from 3 is not good and his 3-point percentage has ticked down a little bit. He was shooting a career-high fog From 3 for most of the season and now he's dropped slightly below his career-high. So I'd like to see that come up. But other than that, I liked we saw it or Kyle kuzma the night that three-pointer you hit near the beginning of the game towards the end of the shot clock. Oh, wow. Yeah. That was that was Kobe asked right not to compare Kobe and kuzma at the two very different players right different levels. Yeah, but it was that type of a shot. It was kind of shot where you see them shooting you just go. Oh no way. There's no way he's going to make oh my God, he made it right like Kyle kuzma had himself a very nice night tonight for the Lakers so credit to him definitely gets the next man up award. So gotta love that. All right. Let's give away some more lakersnation.com license plate.

"A bit of an overlap. It's kind of like like Boogie cousins and Marcus all are like West Matthews and kcp. It's not the exact same player. There's differences. There's no question. There's differences but their skill-set is more similar than it is different at this point like the difference between Boogie and say a general is Noelle or JaVale or Dwayne or Dwight Howard. One of those guys that the true like Rim protecting centers that that are kind of the lower-tier rim protectors Boogie to those guys is I mean, it's a completely different skill-set completely different style of player. Boogie is a lot closer to a Mark assault-style Player. That's that's what he is right now. But on the Sea Shack DeMarcus Cousins are shooting 38% and that's with me rounding up from the field not from 3 from the field 38% for a center. That's bad. That's bad bad bad 34% from 3, and I will say that about half of his shots right now our threes. So that's probably what's pulling his field goal percentage down, but he is also getting seven points. Yep. Rebounds in just 20 minutes of play. So that is very solid nine point six points defensively the Houston Rockets right now are slightly better with Boogie on the cord actually than off its close. I don't know see. I think the ceiling is high on DeMarcus Cousins, like I look at the skillset. It's not a perfect fit, but is there going to be anybody out there that's better on the market if Andre Drummond gets out there sure you would absolutely take Andre Drummond over DeMarcus Cousins, but we don't know he might just get traded. We don't know if he's going to be on the market. Do you take Blake Griffin over to Marcus cousins? I don't know if I do that and bugging, you know, the you know that he does have the chemistry with the team. I know he got into it a little bit with Markieff Morris from the Lakers played the Rockets earlier this season, but from everything we've heard that was just kind of a game thing and they were cool after the game. Everything was fine. So.
Los Angeles Lakers Scorched By Miami Heat
"Lakers do lose to the Miami Heat. Oh Alex Caruso had a chance to tie it up at the buzzer, but misses the shot was not an easy shot by came up just short gruesome misses and the Lakers do fall to the Miami Heat LeBron. James had a bit off of an off night and we have to remember of course Dennis Shooters still out and not going to miss two more games. They are really struggling to get offense going without him. And of course Anthony Davis out as well and he'll be out for at least the next four weeks or so, which will take him out all the way through a little bit past the old star breaks up the Lakers clearly struggling clearly undermanned and we got a lot to talk about because there's some rumors popping up about what the Lakers might do about it and some people that they dead Try to bring in so a lot to break down joining me tonight. We've got Chris the Masterpiece Masters Chris. How you doing, man? I'm okay disappointing disappointing loss. It was it was a weird game. I know we're going to get into all of it. But you know, there's the world we live in when you don't have off Anthony Davis and then to a compound things you don't have demonstrated or who plays a big role for our team. So 12 plus tonight. Yeah, let's get on here. I think that the schruder think really is it's a big deal. It really is. It's a big deal to not have him out there because of what he brings in terms of the skill set his ability to get into the paint his ability to run the offense. You can just see it when LeBron is not on the floor. I mean, you're you're you're hanging on the edge of the cliff and you're just praying that your drink it doesn't give out and you just tumble over the edge. That's what they're doing right now when LeBron's not on the floor, it's like it's like Frank Vogel is just constantly watching the clock one. Can I put it back in yet? Can I put them back in yet? Because any minute that LeBron is not on the floor the Lakers offense looks dead. Lately lost because they don't have anybody that can really be a threat off the dribble. They can get into the paint and do anything from there. And and so it's a bit of a mess. They're just trying to hold on for dear life reminds me a little of the Lakers bench Squad last year except right now. You don't have Anthony Davis to help claw you back into games either. So it's that's certainly a challenge and Dennis Schroder is going to miss two thousand more games. No, he did test negative for covid-19 will do to contact tracing he is out for two more games. So this is going to be a couple more games where the Lakers have to grind it out without some really key pieces here.
Chiefs place Robinson, Kilgore on COVID-19 list
"This coming down. Just moments ago. Adam schefter saying the chiefs placing center daniel kilgore and wide receiver demarcus robinson on the reserve covid nineteen list due to close contact. You see diana receive their. She's been covering the chiefs all week long diana. They didn't address this. Kobe news because it came up right at the end of media day. But you were talking to all of them throughout so tell us what you learned. Yeah well. I gotta give a lot of credit to this. Kansas city chiefs team who are in kansas city missouri. Twelve hundred miles away from where the super bowl action is all going down starting today and these guys were having a lot of fun they were bringing the energy this virtual so it's very hard to have a lot of energy and to have fun but they did a really good job laura. Let's start with the most important thing i learned. And that's andy. Reid is going to have a double cheeseburger waiting for him at the end of the game. If they win if you remember he had one last year. That was the meal he ate after. They want kidding. That's not the most important thing but something that did stand out with. Patrick mahomes was talking about. When tom brady met up with him after the afc championship game. Two years ago remember the chiefs lost at arrowhead and our jeff jolly was actually down on the ground and he was the one who spotted this. He saw tom. Brady walk over to a security guard and asked to talk to. Patrick mahomes the security guard. A little surprise like okay. I'll figure it out for you. Well he was able to find him a little room in the equipment room. And that's when they brought patrick in radiant ham had a conversation. Take a listen to what patrick learned about it for me. I think it was important because it showed that. I was doing things the right way as a young quarterback in this leading You you gotta go in he or early trying to put it in the time and the work But you don't really know until you get to that that that spot of where you wanna be at Losing an afc championship game. Obviously i didn't get to the super bowl. But then him tell me anything kind of just just saying that he respected what i was doing and how i was planning filming the type of person that i was A kind of best on me to go any new better In order to get the super bowl which we did last year. And i'll just trying to keep improving and keep getting better every single day. We asked andy read about it. He said he didn't enter. Didn't see the conversation. But he said he heard about and he was obviously very grateful. That brady took that time to talk to his young quarterback but re did make a point With the reporters today to say that they are so happy. There in missouri no distractions very few media obligations. It's all football. Football football are
Portland Trail Blazers lose another starter, can’t sustain hot first quarter, fall 104-101 at Houston Rockets
"Start with the blazers any rockets. The first game of the tnt double header on thursday houston is a team. I find it hard not to cheer for. I'm in the corner of john. Wall demarcus cousins and victor oladipo may because they suffered huge injuries in the past major surgeries. And i'm an empathy guy. I wanna see them recover. I wanna see them fight battle. Get back to their old sells like john wall said after the game everybody on this roster has something to prove. Those three guys have been cast off by the role teams. It's a good story but at the same time they have suffered major injuries. They've got a guy on their roster. Who's young spry and should be dominating. The league at the center spot christian would is playing well this year but i think he should be featured a little bit more. He only had twelve shots against the portland. Trailblazers that usage rate should be. Hi you're he. Is that good now. The rockets won this game. They're down twenty early to the blazers. They came back the blazers shooting because they love to shoot their last in the league in points in the paint. The shooting almost overcame their defensive. Problems they just allow too many buckets. The rockets have full strength though. Should have beat this blazers team up bad c. J. mecom still out. He's out for at least a couple more weeks. Yousef nurkic also out for the blazers. I in this game shouldn't have gone down to the wire i'm sure. Tnt would beg to differ with that. They had a game. Go down to the wire. It was exciting but this rockets team needs to find the right hierarchy It's it's an interesting balance. Victor oladipo going into a contract year. I think should be operating a little bit. More within the system and christian would should be the guy scoring ton the blazers continue to fire away from deep like they always do and they got some performances dame lillard of course. She had five threes thirty points. Overall gary. junior was the surprise seven. Three's twenty three points. Overall and three of those threes were consecutive in the fourth quarter. That was a blast to watch an anfernee. Simmons had four threes off the
Changes may be coming to Dallas Cowboys
"This is my last question for you. You got jerry jones right. You have a great relationship with jerry jones all time great. All time dallas cowboy Where does jerry jones take this team from here. You have dak prescott do do they extend him. Do they not extend him. Where's that leader. Is he going to go. Get a leader. I want you to just take us in the thought process pro process of jerry jones and how he moves forward okay poodle as we were six and four during the season and we had a meeting with jerry jones came in and he said i want you guys to empty the bucket. Quarter dallas cowboys. And if you don't do that there's going to be a lot of changes that are going to happen this season he. I'm not talking about the off-season talking about during the season. Cutting guys bringing guys in. And i know that is going to be swiped out across the board at the end of the season with jerry jones is gonna be a lot of changes on defense is going to be a lot of changes on offense because he wants to win. He's a businessman. that's how he's always been in day. I don't know what decision they are gonna make with that. But they're going to have to have that leader at the quarterback position that comes in and takes over the team
Fangio's patience with Lock pays off in big win for Broncos
"Heavy victory monday broncos country. It's always happy when it's victory monday. The broncos taking care of business against the miami dolphins yesterday was just what the doctor ordered. Twenty two thirteen was called a complete team win by so many people starting with vic fangio and then working through the organization all of the players calling a team win. We'll hear from vic fangio here coming up whilst from a happy and relieved drew lock but the broncos dominate on defense six sacks the interception for justin simmons late in the game to seal the win ryan fitzpatrick in and relief at two of who had been knocked out and it was a bunch of people getting in on the act in terms of taxes. John williams with me read. It was bradley job. It was draymond jones. It was demarcus walker. They were all they were all in the mix so it was good to see a complete team effort yesterday. Special teams really. Good they neutralized yukimi grant the stud returner for miami and it kind of relations. You what you thought this team could be. I guess maybe reminds. Isn't the right word but indicate shows you what this team can be when everything comes together. I know that can be a big. If but coming off the effort against the raiders to come back home a team that six and three that had won five in a row to buy low playing great as a rookie and to completely baffle him. Stifle their offense. Just thirteen points are lone touchdown coming early on a really nice catch by devante parker but just a great great effort. And you're on the ground for one hundred eighty nine yards you. Get eighty four for melvin gordon. Plus two scores. Yes the fumbles. Concerning phillip lindsay make plays eighty two yards on sixteen carries. Actually were tied both at fifteen carries for eighty four yards until lindsey was dropped for a two yard loss late in the game and and that ended up being the the difference after the interception
Dallas Cowboys can’t find trade partner, release Poe, Worley
"And on Wednesday morning it was first reported by NFL network that the cowboys were going to cut AKA release d'oro early Dante Poe if they did not find trade suitors before the day was over well guess what there were. No sooners no. Trade. Was To be had the Dallas cowboys wound up releasing both Ontario and early and so the cowboys free agency class does not live. Great. Obviously, Joe McCoy got hurt and was released again a little bit of a particular issue there ha ha Clinton dix didn't even make the team for the regular season obviously Everson Griffen was traded Darryl Worley Dante repoed the latest cuts moist Kennedy opted out. I it is rough. The cowboys did bringing Alden Smith Oh in free agency and that history paid off Greg or line was a member of the free agency class, and maybe you feel good about that it to the watermelon king I suppose but. This. This is where the cowboys are at their purging they're reading. Obviously the NFL trade deadline is next week but due to covid protocols. Teams are moving a little bit more quickly than some might have originally expected but that is the
I Love Costco, Bible 101, and Don't Go Back to What Broke You
"Good Morning. Everyone it's time and you Chrissy. Confessions how are you doing today? Julie I am doing okay. I mean folks. I mean I don't know whether to talk about the tornado. Victims here in Tennessee are do I talk about corona that's infested and infected the world. I mean I'm just thinking what do we talk about other than corona? I mean. I've never seen anything like it asked my parents. They've never seen anything like it. I've asked my mother-in-law she's never seen anything like it. I mean who would have thought that the most powerful country on the face of the earth would shut until it's people they have to stay in their homes now folks. I advocate staying in your home. I mean let me be very clear and that cough that you hear Julia's an allergy. By the way and yes we went and both got tested. Because I am a hypochondriac between me and Jay Demarcus we keep our doctor on call. Twenty four seven. It's so scary and I mean it's and it listen it finally got chasing Savannah's attention. It has made them nervous. And 'cause when you shut down a country that tells you how serious things are. It is very very serious at this point. I mean folks I went to Cosco. Does that tell you how serious this thing was? Yeah right assets and this was at the onset. This was at the very beginning. Everything was really shut. Dan Yes you did go to twice you went to Cosco and because I was afraid that what if we ran out of something or whatever so I didn't want Julie exposed to anything so I thought okay as usual todd will take the bullet and I went to Cosco and I have to tell you. I love a cost guide. I do I love Cosco. I mean you can go in by like all this stuff in bulk. I mean you could find no that now okay now have only been going for twenty years but that's okay right but I mean you know I. I didn't know how to do it but I did it on my own. If you'll remember you had to send me a copy of our card right but but I guess my thing is is that. I hope that everyone is staying in. I hope that you're staying away from those people who are most susceptible which are the elderly and people with A compromised immune system Because I mean I'm reading stories every day of younger people who are literally fighting for their lives. Well there's one in California that that a under the age of eighteen that passed away yesterday. There's this young man in New Jersey. That's twenty something years old a picture of health that's now being transferred to was it paying hospital. Therein Pins Pennsylvania something for this new new treatment and so folks it's hitting everyone. I mean everyone. I'm going to take my mother food today. But I'm putting it on her front porch and then calling and telling her to come out and get it because I'm practicing truly social social distancing. I mean if I'd done that many years ago I'd had less trouble than one I've had but I mean it's it's to the point now too where you have to be doing what the doctors and the experts are saying to do what I found and you always give a shout out to anything that comes from South Carolina. 'cause it's where you are from. Did you hear Lindsey Graham yesterday when he was on the news where he said that if they did not pass this bill for nothing? It's two trillion dollars as the stimulus that he was going to go to the House on the floor and he was going to demand that the that the country stop paying everyone in the Senate and in the House and in the Congress to shut off their benefits and their pay until they could do their job. It's time to come to get time to together and you don't get to sit here at a time of crisis start negotiating for something that you couldn't get pushed through to begin with. But when I was laying in the bed listening to him I was like way to go. Lindsay is so true because it is an I do believe this is the Good Lord. That is saying okay. I put pebbles in your path and you refuse to look at it so now. I'M GONNA put a boulder in your match right. You guys are GonNa have to work together. Put Your differences differences aside and let's kit this country running again and we don't have to be a Democrat or Republican. A A socialist libertarian to have compassion for our fellow man. It's right I mean. Politics should have no play in compassion right and just taking care of each other exactly and so you know it's been a this whole thing has been very eye opening to the point that you know when you look at where we are and how people are responding to things and what have you. I mean it's it's it's overwhelming it really is. I mean I was listening to the mayor of New York talking and he was calling out the federal government shocking shocking that we would be doing that but he was calling out the federal government and saying that okay mayor. The governor the governor. I'm sorry Governor Governor Cuomo and he was calling the federal government out and saying okay but where are these ventilators right? Where are these what he was saying was? Why can't we put the supplies where they are needed? Most exactly because his state has more cases than any any state in the United States and I completely agree with him. You know we have it. Why things sitting surplus when we get people needing it. It's crazy exactly and so you know it really is when I look at you know I was in the grocery store because I yes folks I went to a Publix and this little old lady was in there and she was looking for hot dog buns and I had. I had you know two packs of hot dog buns in my buggy. And because that's what Juliette told me to get and they didn't have any more hot dog buns. I don't even eat hotdogs. People and I don't even care if how does our home Julia's the one who is determined. I guess she thinks that by eating a hotdog. It makes you more American. I've hated hotdog. My whole life and chloe likes them and again hurt her to have a hot dog once a month so. I had but you told me to get two bags to have overly so I gave this lady a thing of this hot dog binds and she said Oh honey. You're young. You probably have children. She says I can do without folks this little. Old Lady said she could do without. She was willing to sacrifice thinking that I had young children and that I needed a more than she. Well I didn't and I gave them to her. So you know it's those kind of things that there is still people out here that have compassion for their fellow human being yep and we need to continue more of that and we do need to continue more of that and I feel like that we in my family for the most part are very compassionate. People that we do have kind compassionate hearts but even I want us to be better absolutely we all can improve in
Derrick Jones Jr. edges Aaron Gordon in controversial dunk contest
"Game was great. But we're going to rewind to Saturday night controversial slam dunk contests watches. Aaron Gordon Dunk off the side of the backboard spinning. Razi -solutely incredible. It was one of Gordon's five fifty point slams on the night so he obviously one right now. No we didn't.
Brandon Krieg on Solving Real Problems
"In the pod Brandon. Krieg the founder and CEO of Stash Brandon. I did this podcast over the phone right after money. Twenty twenty and it's just a super interesting story for anyone that doesn't know stashes building that consumer finance company of the future all at Brandon. Describe what it is. But let's get into the interview brandon. Welcome to the PODCAST. Thanks thanks for talking with me today. I'm really happy to be here. Yeah you're in New York. I'm an la just before we hit record and we were talking about the weather which city is better but outside outside of that. I'd love to hear about your background. You from the East Coast like how'd you How did you get your start? Yeah I'm a born in New York and I grew up in New York and a night spent a number of years in Florida and then came back to New York in nineteen ninety eight and got involved in an electronic trading business. I have never looked back since so New York is a is my home. I've now been accurate for cash. Almost twenty years I love I love my time in New York. It's awesome so electronic training. That was your that. Was Your first job out of school or was there something else. Yeah I I when I got to school I WANNA I. I wanted to be a chef. I didn't know what I wanted to do. Or confused might just didn't know and I ended up moving to New York and found a couple of guys that were starting up a electronic trading business that was gonna be a consumer side of it and they asked me to join them and I ended up staying there. The company's called industry. I started there in nineteen ninety eight and I stayed there through An amazing amazing Entrepreneurs where we grew the business. We sold the business to a firm called nine capital and I stayed there for another six so I think it was eight. Eight and six was almost like the fifth call fifteen years at the same place that I loved every day of it and it was really to. We basically worked really hard to innovate A business where we provided a real time trading tools to professional investors. It was much different than what I'm doing now l. but it was. I feel like it was a good foundation for me to learn about the capital markets. Also be the force of change in Markets through electronic trading. So it was it was a it was a fun fun period and I feel like part of my life led me to what I'm doing now right so I I guess I'd like to hear you explain the product a little little bit more. It's like a kind of a high end E. Trade for for stockbroker for traders. That are more sophisticated. Yeah so straits business. This was around taking markets that that had a couple of issues one There was a lot of information leakage market. So you know this at the beginning was was when most of the orders redone over the telephone. And so if you gave your orders were broker and you gave your true intentions. You wanted to buy or sell a lot of stock. Unfortunately originally some of that information would leak out to the market. As the person executing the trade would start Start Trading and people would quickly figure out the true intentions actions of the order and then the market move really quickly you love. The other problem with demarcus was that there was a lot of fragmented liquidity. So this is without a time when it wasn't just the Nasdaq. In The New York Stock Exchange there were electronic networks have stock trading popping up in. There was nothing really out there to connect them all together other and so we created a smart router that looked at all of different places. You can trade all the prices on liquids and started making decisions on where to route that order and that's really the business that was in which was to put the customer's order and take the customer's order in trying to do the best job. We could an execution order on behalf of the customer. We did it as agents which means we have A. We didn't take any interest outside of our commission so our job is to get the best price and control the impact of the order on the market so it was basically about creating efficiency. For professional investors. This Hedge Funds Endowments Pensions Mutual Funds. And it's funny talking about it now. I haven't spoken about this so long. Like fumbling a little bit. It's kind of funny bash now for almost five years tonight really. Haven't thought too much about that but but it was on funding. What's what's really interesting? Now is a look back at all the work we did you. Oh at Ed Straight at night. It's Kinda really commoditised now. It a lot of that work we originally did isn't really special anymore. It's mainstream when I was starting it. It was really about combining tack and Financial Services. Like the chew I in Tech. I guess you'd say although we didn't have a fancy buzzword at the time and and And now it's just mainstream accepted. It's normal but when I started. It wasn't the norm. People thought we were crazy right so it was is is really cool. That is that is very cool so the last question here on the on the very beginning of your career is. You're doing something that people think are crazy. You said like you want to be a chef. So how did how did you get to this. Where would you try to be a chef de? I don't actually don't like cooking very much. I'm going to go. Do you know try and trading raining like where did this. Where does this opportunity come from? And then how did you evaluate like you were just like young. I don't addressing. Let's let's go do it. I mean look I mean for me I like the inherent risk and manage. Risk is something that I enjoy. I loved cooking my family's in the restaurant business. I decided. It just wasn't right for me because I didn't like the hours and the pay was pretty terrible and I wanted to do more of my life and technology was always closest to my art and so when I came to New York I was looking for something like marry tacking also kind of work close to Wall Street because I always watched all the Wall Street movies and those really cool never really understood that much. I just think it was right. Place right time together with these two amazing guys that I spent a lot of time with them. I'm still really close. A master all twenty two years and so it was really about the. The opportunity was right for me to to dive into something that I thought was really interesting. I had no idea where this journey would take. I think frankly you know I I still saved my first. He's dubs from when I started with It was a very very low amounts of but I like the business. "It gets closed the trade deadline headline then you have GM sweating and Al and the GM's that really need to make a trade for whatever reasons. Those of the deals that may slip under the radar that may be the difference between a team really producing. NTN`Er team really not producing a right next to the trade deadline. Those the ones I I really wanna see because those the ones that are executed in haste there not couple cited some those have a tendency to be more one sided than any other traits that we see so. I'm looking forward to that a whole week. Well this whole week when it concerns the NBA trade deadline A lot of things going on right now with the rumors and all the stuff. That's out there. One thing I do want to tell fans out there before we head on out is that the I know. There's a lot of things that are being set out there from these experts from these journalists from these podcasts that you're listening to out there as far as NBA hardcore fans are concerned. What are bird rights at Burger is basically it stands from? Yes Larry Bird dealing with the contract situation. -Tuation the Boston Celtics longtime ago. Basically it's something that's now done on. That's going on right now because you're going to hear a lot about those two words bird rights you know if they trade a player and the the team can still retain the bird rights or if they can't because if they can't that makes a lot of difference especially those tax strap teams those those that are over or close to the tax if they cannot retain these players if they don't have their bird rights so that's something very important key to listen to down the road over the next next few days whether team is going to trade for a player that they can keep their bird rise because it it helps these teams for the long term if they want to go ahead and resign nineties players with Saudi. I JUST WANNA go ahead give heads up because I hear all this bird writes this bird rights at at nobis explaining really what bird rights are player has asked to stay with the team for three years in order to earn his bird rights in bird. Ruts don't do anything. Help team avoid luxury taxes. But what they they do. is they allow an exemption so that they can basically pay the guy whatever they want they allow them to go over the CAP. It doesn't prevent them from making taxes. They can go over the cap even go into a luxury tax situation. But it still doesn't prevent them from pain a luxury tax. So t Michael Akers. For example the Lakers signed demarcus cousins to a one year deal if they signed him to a two year deal next year next summer then he would be a three year contract contract and at the end of that contract they would have his bird rights they could then sign him to whatever amount they want regardless of where they how over the CAP. The cap gap doesn't even matter to them it would put them into luxury tax of the gave him a big contract and they still have to pay the luxury tax but they would be able to go ahead and sign him. No matter are
