"The hall of fame. No tell you about the owner of the dallas cowboys. Why would he say this. Tony was like a son to what's his biggest frustration says jerry jones is one regret about his. Tony romo what does it tell you about. Jerry's feelings about his current quarterback. If i'm the current quarterback. I don't love that he's saying it really. I'll be job i was. He was so good he didn't get his job. Back and rookie fourth round. Pick right and i beat him out. And once upon a time tony romo was undrafted out of eastern right. So let me say this as a lifelong cowboy fan. Tony romo is the most or was the most frustrating maddening quarterback. I ever tried to root for. Because i promise you. He had some hall of fame stretches hall of fame flashes. He was the comeback kid he had twenty four fourth quarter comebacks in twenty four game. Winning drives pretty high on the all time list but he could also when you least expect it turned into a choking dog and yet that one year in two thousand fourteen he led this league in completion percentage and led it in qbr and capped it off. I thought with a win. Over aaron rodgers back in his home state of wisconsin at green bay in a playoff game it all down it was fourth and to remember the throw that he made the dez bryant. There it is. He caught it. He caught it and he scored with it. And if this is just classic bad luck romo because the ref he rises arms. He's right on the spot touchdown he signals. And they overturn it and cost the cowboys. This game that they should've won they could have gone on to seattle to play the nfc championship game against the seattle. They had beat at battle that regular season. That'll mean that won't super bowl here is being made tony. Romo a made man. Yeah there's twenty twelve. He led the league in interceptions and he made four pro bowls and he was known as a tough guy who could be so fragile. How many times did he break collarbone. Sixteen dive right and yet. How did his career star off. When did i. I really lock in on tony romo. He's in seattle at a playoff game. Bobble snap a chip shot field goal to win the game at the end of the game. At what's should've foreshadowed thing was it. Was tony tony ono. there is up. Whoops i'll run this in. He really couldn't run. He had good. Quick babylon carter in the back. He did he caught him from the back. Really and yet the all time classic tony romo game was when he threw for five hundred six yards against your denver broncos back in twenty thirteen the final scores fifty one to forty eight. Because after tony romo had thrown five touchdown passes and no interceptions we get down to the bitter into the game and all the sudden get sacked on the first play and on second along. He throws it to the wrong team. Danny trevathan what are you doing. Tony and gives payton a chip shot field goal to walk off fifty one. What are the great performances. You'll ever see that wasted got wasted with with one of the year and he had demarco murray right there in front of us get washed demarco. Murray looking demarco murray. I only went blind. Just went blind. I don't know i couldn't some up. His he threw for five. Oh six and five touchdowns against your denver broncos lost fifty one to forty eight because that's pretty much. The story of his career had he won two playoff games. What ten eleven years and was controversy goes against detroit it only he remembered they beat donald. Buka nab andy reid the last game season and turn right around and got him in home playoff game and beat him a second dubbing..

"Can i just say that for mike to project. Seventeen hundred rushing yards and fourteen touchdowns the. That's not. Mike is conservative projections. That is unreal. That's ridiculous and by the way that twenty plus touch and fourteen of sixteen games yet again. So fifteen is like the low end for him. There's no arguing here. The only concern right. If the only thing you're talking about is just workload. He gets the ball so much injury concerned the idea that he's as he's but he played so i want to so few snaps but he didn't play as much when demarco murray was on this team and is the beginning of his career was a little bit of a of a lesser role here and by the way like people keep saying keep the key using of averages to apply to derrick henry like you know he's twenty eight and like this is when running backs tend to show signs of fatigue or regression. I'm like he's also six foot. Three two hundred and fifty pounds runs a four. Four forty might be partial alien like. I'm not using other running backs to compare to derrick henry. I get why the exercise is useful. But i'm sorry. I just don't view derrick henry anything like most running backs so i hear you at some point derek. I'm saying that here. Yeah get it right. I mean. Mike hasn't running back five. And you have to nitpick your said. Hey you know there's least whether it's a five percent chance or twenty five percent chance. He could start to show a little bit of signs of rust. But i just don't forecast that coming this year too much. Good going and a very good offensive line and again. They don't have a lot behind him at running back. It's not even a couple years ago. They signed dion lewis. Who by the way. Congratulations to you on retirement. Adam schefter reported that just before the show began great. Great great story. Great story tenure career for a guy who many thought you know might last three or four. After being in the fifth round of tit for and deal with major injuries early in his career but four year contract for dion lewis couples. Easy to going like. Oh man i could eat into. Henry's value no did. Not so darren. Evans is the backup. And that's it really in terms of running backs that i think have a chance to be a factor in this backfield so we spouse the virtues of derrick henry for probably the rest of the show. Yeah he's that kind of player. He's been as useful as any running back over the past two seasons when you factor in kirsch. Mccaffrey dealing with injuries last year. He's been he's been the. Mvp a fantasy really over the past two seasons probably along with travis kelsey and davante adams are. We're gonna finish things off with the titans. Pass catchers in just moments daniel but i wanna ask you a question. You want to get in shape. You're having trouble getting motivated. Yes actually no right. Make five hour energy shots part of your lifestyle and get the energy boost. You need to get fit. We all know you sometimes do not want to go to the gym. Take a fiber energy shot to give the feeling alertness and you can get to. The gym was zero sugar in a convenient portable size. It's the perfect. Pick me up for getting stuff. Done the five runners who has flavors galore like watermelon. Tropical burst cherry peach mango and more. There's a flavor for everyone. Try them all on the site..

"Get off me Grown man. Him grown man. Them. I like that term. Yeah, but I like Josh Allen, but so going back to his game, Buckner's Broncos You know the Broncos quarterback going because not only drew lock lost out six weeks, Jeff Driskel. And you trust in Jeff Driskel? No, I'm not. But the one thing that the Broncos do very well. They stopped the run, so I'm not worried about forgetting all of them running. I'm never worried her forehead know that running so little John's and Broncos won't win. They will cover It will be all in three. But they will come out of the two straight weeks will be a very close game and evict Angio lose his job. He's not gonna lose his job because he's had so many injuries as on losing von Miller was absolutely a killer. Von Miller's gone Courtland suddenly sale going on Drew lock is gone. So you lock a lock only missed 3 to 6 weeks. Yeah, but it's a C join us throwing arm so Yeah, it's That is, It was a bad nose of rotator cuff restoring arms, So I mean, I did. Yesterday was a bad day for injuries today, so, but Broncos cover the online and you want it. I want to see how important games are It was dis important. The Falcons blew the onside kick, and the Cowboys got it yesterday because the Cowboys next week That's our next game in Seattle, Seattle, minus 4.5. The Cowboys could be owing to should be by all rights owing to heading into a game in Seattle that they will not win. No, um the Bruce Irvin loss is huge. Humor me, Doc was deck was massive yesterday to, um Going into that game. If true servants there. Thousands trouble running the ball. Now with noble servant. I don't know how they stopped the run. I mean, you still have KJ, right? And free who The other bracket backer is cagey. Right? Bruce Irvin and someone else someone else authority guy. Mr. Now, Jamal Adams will play deeper into the box in like he did against Seattle. I mean against New England. But I would wait on that number. And just see where it goes. It's a 4.5 right now. It opened at 3.5. It's gone up to 4.5 people. I mean, people aren't buying the cowboy. You're buying the Cowboys, but I just don't know that. That's the Cowboys defense. Ah, no pun intended. When I make this joke, every game going to be a shootout with voice it could be. I mean, I mean, he could just say Hey, I mean, it's one of those where I don't understand how the Cowboys getting shootouts. When you have a back leg seek. You can control the game, but they don't as amazing that you're preaching to the choir. Me. That's one thing I've always wondered. Kazik still seems to get his numbers too. 25 30 carries him ball just like that, when they when DeMarco Murray was there, and it was just ball control, ball control ball control or when Emmitt Smith was their feet. Emmett, Feed him it deep to Michael Irvin. Freedom it, feed him and feed him. If that's what you're doing now, feed feed. Zeke, Zeke, Zeke Dita Mari Cooper. That's exactly what should be because your defense isn't very good right now. You're to your two corners are very good. Your safety's aren't very good. Right now. Your front for your front seven is pretty good, but you're back in his bad, so you've got to protect them. The Falcon scored 20 points on them to start the game and then point that out. There is 20 of nothing. Falcons and Calvin Ridley. Look like Jerry Rice out their gate it I mean it and gather Ridley's a good receiver, Everybody Jerry Jerry Rice. I mean, he is pretty good, but I know people hate me for saying this guy's still think Jerry Rice is a little overrated. Who he Waas, Okay. That's I mean, you play with one of the greatest and most accurate quarterbacks of all time. True, you play with a receiver like John Taylor on the other side of you most your career. And you have a running back Who? Khun. Not only catch it like out of the backfield, but run with it like Bill ring and whoever else they had I know that Dr Gregg thank you. That was a guy that I was thinking. It's going to make life a little easier. Avoid true. He was never a guy that was gonna beat people deep. No, that wasn't Jerry Rice's game. I had great hands. Great hands. Great runner. Um he was. It's like carry Judy. Yeah, It's one of those things where And football like, say, it's the ultimate team sport. You can move guys around and I don't think anything changes like if you take Jerry Rice and plucked him out and job, Cris Carter and does now Chris Carter. Is that Yeah, you're right. I mean, unlike basketball, where if you have one player and basketball's over the four major sports basketball is the sport Unless you're talking Goalies, yes and hunky, But basketball is the sport. Want one player could make all the difference in the world because if you take the greatest pitcher in the world and put him on the Dodgers I don't matter. Heretofore, Pitcher stink. You're only gonna win one out of every five games like trash asked the Mets and the ground and that's Mike Trout. Exactly. So it doesn't matter now. MBA you put LeBron the Lakers is the team that didn't make the playoffs. All of a sudden, the number one seed, someone said, Yeah, so I mean football team ain't like said it football. I don't like when people say, Oh, best player that but a quarterback will make all the difference. But even then If you take all if take those guys and shake him up and you put it on different teams..

"So today on high noon apparently Ben Simmons is actually attempting to suit and nobody wants to you but we have an idea. I have an idea for call it also we'll talk about what it means and when you are the number one most valuable sports franchise without having won a super bowl in twenty four speaking of which actually we'll start today in Dallas with Ezekiel Elliott who's rumored holdout remains a referendum on not just the cowboys but but the running back as a species twenty four year old Elliot Threatens To sit if he does not get the new extension he wants meanwhile the cowboys also have Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper and some other people expecting the exact same thing so Bomani. How much leverage leverage does this hypothetical hold out even give Elliott over the cowboys in two thousand nine hundred if he's willing to Miss Games a lot by I haven't seen anything to indicate to me that they have been better offensive player than him? They haven't done anything to indicate that they don't have that they have any more or important offensive player than him. This seems to be the engine around this whole thing right so if he's willing to go to the mattresses and he's willing to miss a couple of games of said his voice say it again. Maybe the most effective holdout we've seen emmitt Smith in nineteen ninety-three where he take urban got his money Troy Aikman got money and they weren't trying to give the money to amit he sat he missed those two games and he ultimately got what he want but if this is just going to be I'm going to scare them. You will not scare them. You have to be willing to Miss Games and if he is this can work and those two games you mentioned with Emmett Smith two losses and that was something that scared the cowboys back then straight and in this case I also think about the guy who has maybe as much to lose his anybody based on the early part of a season which is Jason Garrett. I imagined there is no person more invested in Zeke Elliott coming back than Jason Garrett. Jason Garrett is already. The Guy who was apparently calling DeMarco Murray with DeMarco Murray was on the plane to Philly after the cowboys made clear. They weren't gonNA give them all that money. Jason Garrett desperately wanted to bring that running back back now with Ezekiel Elliott. You Have Jason Garrett as the lame duck coach. He has no guarantee. He'll be here beyond this season. That guy seems to I would imagine one the best player on his team we built. It's offense around back more than anywhere yeah well. Dak Prescott probably wanted more than even Jason Garrett does because his his payday is looming. I don't know when that's GonNa come through but it doesn't sound like his negotiations have been going the way that he wanted them to go anyway a lot of money the Dak Prescott is going when to get has to do with the presence of Ezekiel Elliott so Zeke is not as they're not they're rather and the offense is sputtering. It doesn't make life any easier for that guy either but the cowboys made an interesting decision in all of this they took Elliott number four when they took him in the draft. They built this thing around him. They stumbled into a quarterback with Dak Prescott. Remember they were trying to go up to get Paxton Lynch in the first round and he got lucky and guide Dak Prescott in the middle of that draft then they make this move to get Amari Cooper. You have to pay cooper because all the things you did to get them. You GotTa Pay Prescott because he is a quarterback but even from the day you drafted Elliott. You knew this is our guy..

"Now, we understood you know, that that about him as well. And he was he was a really strong contributor from his role as a backup quarterback to some of the things we were doing I think had a really positive impact undock when he was a player, and when he decided that he wanted to get into coach, and we just felt like it was a good move for him to be our quarterback coach. And you know, we understand that. We've accelerated him, you know, really really quickly his second year of coaching to be the offensive coordinator. We get that. I had a little bit of confidence in it. Because I took a little bit of a similar route. I was a quarterback coach for two years before becoming an offensive coordinator and had been in his shoes. And I think the biggest thing I learned there was you wanna put your stamp on it. You wanna put your Mark on it? You wanna you know, there's so many things that you have inside of you that you want the offense to be. But but learning how to use the people around. You was probably the biggest takeaway from the experience that I had a lot of veteran. Coach is on the staff when I came here to Dallas and seven and Tony Speranza was here a great football coach. Wade Wilson was here. You know, number of other guys skip Pete by brother, John was the tight ends coach Ray Sherman was the receiver coach a lot of guys who've been around football for a long time. And it was a very collaborative effort that we had. And I think that's the one thing that I shared with Callan is we want to put your stamp on this thing. But understand the other guys you have in that room. I've been around for a number of years on j allow Doug nussmeier, Gary Brown, you know, Marc Colombo is a young coach himself, but he's been around our system and what we do and and some other experiences. Well, so a lot of veteran guys around him. And I think Caledon a great job putting his stamp on it. But also using the resources that he's had and is really off to a good start. It's fun to get with our players fun to see him. Action. And you know, we're excited about where offenses going coach Jason Garrett. Dallas Cowboys here on the rich Eisen show. I am Mike woven city in for rich Eisen coach you got ten years as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Now, I wanna ask you a couple of things would you say that this is your best teen and your best opportunity to get to a Super Bowl since you've been here. Coach of the Dallas Cowboys and. Does that put any pressure on you to do to actually accomplish that and get this team to a Super Bowl? You know, Michael, I've never really looked at it that way that this team is better than that team. Or whatever cer- certainly when I first became the coach if you look at the cycle of art of our team, you know, we had to move on from a number of players who had been here for awhile. Really good players. They got in a little bit older they were making some money. So we had to make some hard decisions. We completely revamped our offense of line in year one. We had a lot of new guys play and young guys play. And I think I think as we got into this thing a little bit. The biggest thing we're trying to do was was Bill this team the right way. And if you think about, you know, our first draft pick was tyrant Smith. We also drafted DeMarco Murray and that first draft. So so guys who really represent what we want our team to be all about. So we've continued to try to do that over the last seven eight years, and we've been able to build our offense of line we bring continuing to build our defensive line and really all throughout our team with the expression. I use the right. Kind of guys guys who were driven guys who love the play ball..

"And if all these guys are holding out for top dollar and not saying, well, hey, it's just an honor to play for the Cowboys saw. I'll take less that they're going to have a mess. S on their hands. Yeah. They are and collectively very rarely happens where two or three guys on a on a team or often side of the ball. You know, really have much discussion in the locker room about their contracts, usually, hey, that's kind of private business. Yeah. I'm trying to get this many years, but you don't get into the details of the specifics that way, I guess that's kind of against business ethics to a degree but their agents can work together. I know you're you're right. They certainly could. But the Cowboys they got enough issues right now, I feel like with know just trying to design DeMarcus Lawrence. I think they're going to try to figure that out before they go down. You know, the tunnel of. Let's figure out dot Prescott at Amari Cooper. I would think that Dak Prescott the first guy on the board there. I mean, doc Prescott to me at this point is more of a proven commodity that Amari Cooper, Amari Cooper, had that great year or two to start his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders, then kinda fell off planet earth, you know, for two years, and then we saw a resurgence of the second half of the year last year when he was traded from the raiders of the Dallas Cowboys. So if I'm the Cowboys, I would wanna see a little bit from Amari Cooper, a little bit more. I should say before I reward him like he would be the type of guy. Okay. It's week eight during the NFL season, and Amari Cooper, you know, he he's right where he left off this past season in two thousand eighteen then you start talking contracts, but I'm not going to throw anything. Out there to Amari Cooper. I think until I see a little bit more Dak Prescott I expect those combos to happen sometime before the summer. Demarcus Lawrence now in his second year after expiration of his rookie deal Prescott entering the last year of his Cooper entering the last year of his Byron Jones, the cornerback in the last year of his and the guy whose name never comes up, Chris. And we mentioned a couple of weeks. Cowboys fans got upset with Ezekiel Elliot's got two years left. He's the one guy who should say, I'm outta here. Until you pay me. Sorry. You got to pay all these other guys too. But I want mine are I'm not showing up. Yeah. No. I mean you and I both agree on this one. I mean, this is the go-to guy for the Dallas Cowboys franchise. He is who the offense is orchestrated around. And man does he get a lot of touches a lot of car crashes. So I have no problem physique y'all wants to ask for a little bit more money at a little more security for his future because he plays the position physical, and we have seen when he's in the lineup. They're going to ride him hard, and they wrote DeMarco Murray all the way to the NFL rushing title franchise record for a single season. And they let him walk away. Away in free agency instead of rewarding and we're gonna take a quick break when we return more about this lifetime award that the giants seemed to be determined to give to ally manning Willie actually play their beyond twenty nineteen PF PFC live returns right after.

"You till nine o'clock on WTMJ. Happy to have you along here. Welcome to the weekend. It's going to be a little more football focus this hour as we do our annual Super Bowl prop bets coming up a little bit later. Also, a Friday feature that will bring back the week that was some of the more memorable comments discussions and interview guests we had for the week that was here on sports central mixed in or some great Milwaukee Bucks highlights from a pair of wins. That's coming up at seven thirty three tonight. Four one four seven nine nine one six twenty is the academic mortgage, talk and text line. We'll take your calls here. Open them up past and we'll feel them and before we get into our Super Bowl discussion. Julius peppers is retiring after seventeen seasons in the NFL that announcement was made by Julius earlier this morning. And I thought it was interesting in the post that was shared across the Interweb. He had a shout out to Green Bay that at Green Bay felt like home that he believed in the fans the fans felt the same sort of love affair with Julius peppers. He felt it in Green Bay, great place all football. And you really enjoyed his time in Green Bay that came to an end. Prior to the start of the two thousand seventeen twenty eighteen season. This was the Packers decision. They decided to move on from Julius peppers much. Like they did under Ted Thompson. With veterans such as Charles Woodson chose not to sign mica. Hi, Casey Hayward, some popular players. Some a little older than others. And then more recently Brian good chose to walk away from Jordy Nelson. So if I were giving you your pick Ashton throw it out to you as well. If you could only have one of those guys Charles Woodson, Julius peppers or Jordy Nelson. Who would you pick? Who would be the guy that you would have kept. You could only pick one. Four one four seven nine nine one six twenty. We'll spend a little time with this thought the accurate mortgage talk and text line when the Packers decided to move on from Julius peppers. It was at a time. They had clay Matthews. They had Nick Perry. Both were oft injured. They had a young and really unproven Cuyler fac role believe Vince beagle was a draft pick. Okay. That's what you're gonna roll with. I was not for. The walking away from Julius peppers. I was certainly not for the walking away of Charles Woodson about the Packers safety position is still not yet recovered in full. But that was sort of the Packers way to try and get a little younger to try and save a little bit of money. And just hope that that drafted developed program would kick in and those draft picks would be what you thought they were when you selected them on draft day at the not turn out to be the case and Julius peppers went onto Carolina. Pretty good in his final two seasons in the league years sixteen and seventeen. He was still doing it. Now, I have no idea what would have happened to Julius peppers heading not been able to sign with Carolina. What are you just hung it up? I don't know. I'm sure there would have better team or two interested in Julius peppers. I don't know how interested Julius peppers would have been in joining said team. I think there was interested in signing Donald driver around the league gravity decided. No. He wanted to go out of his the Packer legacy means something to Donald driver. That was the route he chose. I don't know how much playing time there would have been anywhere else. But yeah, I I would believe that Donald driver could have been in a camp. The summer after he decided to retire. But who would you have picked? Four one four seven nine nine one six twenty Dino in Grafton, you're on WTMJ. Hello, dino. Hey, how you doing tonight? Great. Thanks. I would have to say without a doubt. I was most annoyed by Ted Tom leading see would go so intelligent. And the way he broke down film with the other players. I'm hoping maybe somewhere down the road. We can pry Mata the cushy broadcasting. Yeah. Booth studio getting back here and have secondary coach. It'd be interesting. I don't know that Charles Woodson has any designs of coaching. I don't know that to be the case one way or the other. I'm leaning toward defense on this. I would have kept peppers. I would've kept Woodson. I didn't love let it go Jordy Nelson. But I totally understood it. It made a little more sense to me, I guess than the others. Put this defense is just not rebounded. Right. There are some moments following the Super Bowl year that looked like they had it. In fact, I think the the NFC championship debacle against Seattle. That was the best defense. The Packers have had since they're Super Bowl win. Remember the Super Bowl win. The Packers were the second. Best scoring defense in the NFL like the tenth best offense in the NFL. That was more about the defense. And it was the offense. Even though Aaron Rodgers was spectacular. It was still a wildcard team. I mean, it was not like they just blew the doors off everybody. But the next best defense the Packers had following that Super Bowl year was with Julius peppers doing his damage. His lasting legacy will be in Green Bay was only a few seasons. And I know some people will point to Julius peppers telling Morgan Burnett to slide after an interception in the NFC championship game where brunette probably could have run it back to at least a red zone territory. But if you want to focus on that might I point out that the Packers may not have even played in that game. If it were not for Julius peppers knocking the ball free from DeMarco Murray in the game that is more commonly known for was it a catch by Dez Bryant. Or was it not a catch by desk? Bryant spoiler alert. It was a catch. I still believe it was a catch. But I remember DeMarco Murray would still be running. He would still be running Julius peppers. Not knocked that Paul Frey in amazing. Played a critical time. It seemed like peppers had that he had that ability. I think Woodson did to a degree as well. If the defensive player of the year that guy was all over the place. You didn't really have a position he was everywhere. What interesting conversation I had with Julius peppers in the locker room. This was his final year in Green Bay. He was on kind of a pitch count. He was not being used the way that he wanted to be used and that was very clear and talking to Julius peppers. And the idea was, hey, let's keep them fresh. He wasn't practicing as much got to keep them fresh. That was the thought process. Yeah. But the conversation I had with Julius peppers. He didn't talk a lot. But every time I spoke at Julius peppers. I found it to be very interesting. You said I spent a lot of time in a given game setting up the left tackle or right tackle. I spent a lot of time trying to figure them out. And by the time the fourth quarter comes around. I've got them figured out. And I know what I need to do to beat them and any provides a move. They hadn't seen. He was a classic set up artist. But his final season in Green Bay. He didn't have those opportunities. All three players were outstanding members of the Green Bay Packers. I don't think either one of them stayed as long as they probably should. But was the one that sticks out the most to you, David Kenosha WTMJ? Hello, dave. Hey, how are you? I think they should've kept all of them within the context because the public was led to believe that they wanted to go home to finish their careers. They wanted. Charles Woodson wanted to go to Oakland, Julius peppers wanted to go home to Carolina and Geordie. Well, you've gotta keep Jordi at least one more year. At least where we ended up my opinion Jordi wanted to come back to Green Bay Mike McCarthy wanted Georgie to combat to Green Bay. I know that for a fact David, and you're right there was that. Oh, it's a homecoming. Charles Woodson goes back to Oakland and Julius peppers goes back to Carolina Julius wanted to come back to Green Bay. I'm pretty sure Charles Woodson did as well. I'm sure to both of them to a degree. It felt like unfinished business in the chance to win was still there in Green Bay. Remains to be seen. Just what kind of general manager Brian Gouda? Coon says we've got a a sample size of about a year some hits and misses along the way as you might expect aggressiveness on draft day, which is nice to see playing the free agent market. That's great. But he also decided to get rid of Georgia. That was one of the first big moves. He made all of that you endear yourself to the fan base by doing such a thing. But again, how concerned about the fan base are you if you're a general manager of team? Got to turn off what's going on on the outside? I understand that. I would have liked to see all three continuing Green Bay, George. He's got another year in his contract. I don't know. That he's gonna play beyond that in conversations. I've had with him. But I missed Julius peppers in that locker room and we're David balked Yaris talking about lack of accountability after the coaching change. Guys, like Julius guys like Charles Woodson. You've never heard about that kind of stuff maybe because there was more winning going on. And there wasn't a coaching change. But those are the kind of guys that kept the accountability train on the track. I miss them both in Green Bay absolutely Super Bowl. Fifty three set for Sunday. Who do you got who? Do you want? And what's the most popular snack in every state for Super Bowl Sunday? Oh, yeah. All that more coming up on sports central this week on WTMJ. Major.

"So now, I didn't know there six to four they salads with somebody runs over you. They say is rough shod we say Russia there ran roughshod, y'all. I use that a tweet roughshod S H O D. Yeah. We'll say Shah. Okay. We don't do. Correct. We rough shop. I point of order on Mike McCarthy he was viewed by the league as damaged goods because he fell apart with the greater store the football ever Aaron Rodgers. So what went on there? Do we wanna get take a chance on that guy who couldn't even get along with the biggest diva who ever played quarterback in this league? Aaron rodgers. That was just a travesty what happened to Mike McCarthy. He deserves a job. And I'm not sure Jason Garrett would have had five offers. But trust me, he would have had to offers and God rest, the sole of your grandmother. But she did not coach the Dallas Cowboys to not one or two but three division titles. That's what Jason Garrett did. So he's valuable. That all you have vision to think about this just step back. I know you gotta sift through all your cowboy which is just spilling out. So happy that they're they're not liking you anymore. Think about okay Jason Garrett is still seventy seven and fifty nine as the head coach of the Cowboys. Do I like him? I don't I've tried to fire him twenty nine times on this show, but he's seventy seven in fifty nine so innovative cume if you put him on the open market somebody's going to sit back and say he won three NFC ease win When that. that Super Bowl at wait a second in twenty fourteen he goes, twelve and four and then twenty sixteen he goes thirteen and three and then twenty eighteen he goes ten and six and then wins a playoff game. He's two and three in the postseason, which is not Owen five. My point is we look at some of the people who got cliff Kingsbury gotta head coaching job. And I liked cliff Kingsbury a lot how he got that big. They believe it could go think about this and twenty fourteen the three offensive linemen made the Pro Bowl. Okay today is Jason Witten sort of the Marcus so so to DeMarco Murray. All right. You got seven Provo. Okay. The football and you win how many games? Okay. You follow that up? Guess what we comes in? You got another six guy go to the Pro Bowl. And you went how many blame game zero. So now again, you got to office and the Pro Bowl you guys Zeke in the Provo and you win one just try Try to. to limit. You just let's just say for the sake of argument that what we do up here. We argue argon such a harsh term main arguing with the commercial that came out. So I I like to argue debating debate sound which bits a healthy discussion. What we do when my therapist, Shannon, say healthy discussion up. Did you just admit you about their position? Getting in touch with us. Tony soprano. Discussion. Okay. What was Sean McVay do with that kind of offense? Itala? I don't know. He's got plenty of. Think about it skills. Made you had you had three often chumming that you are the best running back and football. And you think Jared goff's way better than back Prescott. So what are you talking about? If he'd had random cooks bobber would hit at talent. Twenty eight sixteen would hit a magic nation in motivate you because he can motivate you say, you'll got came motive. But you cannot I don't like my guy. But trust me. My guy would have gotten offers on the open market because there's a dearth of available coaches. But then they're all just desperate to see Jerry Ghezzi. They give Jerry all the credit with none of the accountability. All the losses on his resume. But everybody know behind the like, you tell me puppy. I agree. I wish somebody would hire them away. John. No, no, no. You love him. Do this Jerry live in the past in the nineties does to certain point. But what did I tell you yesterday before Jerry uttered? These words. I told you the nineties Cowboys every by I said exactly you on the show yesterday. What Jerry Jones then said on his radio show, which is in the nineties. Everybody knew everything we were doing..

"Hundred fifty four passing yards six touchdowns plus fifty three rushing I wanna say like five of those touchdowns came in the first half. So just one person me, but if a car Rudolph, so let me explain the reason why I made the case for off before we get to the others and also received votes when I think about a player that seemingly came out of nowhere. Like, I wouldn't vote for someone that wasn't being you. Allies in lineups at all not a single person. Playing in the championship was like. Yep. Can't wait to insert Blake jar win in week seventeen. Howard up as a player that you had stood by throughout the season. Not because he had been good. But because no tight ends are good. There's literally like three good tight ends. So without a reasonable option to replace Colorado with you probably just tried to figure it out at other business you set out. Hopefully, my running backs are good enough to win this week. He went eleven straight games without a touchdown. He had five catches for thirty yards over the two weeks prior to this game. And on that game. He came out with thirty three point two fantasy points of close. Of course, the hail Mary at the end of the first half of monster monster game, like I would not be surprised if covered off with started in like, I don't know like a reasonable amount of leagues that were still playing in week seventeen wouldn't stunned me. Whereas I think some of the other guys in this list, Nomo planum, hence, my reasoning. Well, we all play in the war room league writer at at ESPN and the the champion of the league. Seth Markman our fearless leader who oversees all the NFL coverage for ESPN who plays league won the league this year. And he did it in part because of Derrick Henry who was my vote. So I really looked at the the description here the best performance that seemingly came out of nowhere. That's the first sentence of the description here, and you think about Derrick Henry who has certainly rostered and tunnel leagues. And in fact, he was started the reason I bring up Seth is because Derrick Henry is one of the reasons he won the championship. He started him in this week fourteen. We certainly heard from a number of people on Twitter that lost because they were facing Derrick Henry or manage to survive in advance because of Derrick Henry you think about Jacksonville entering week fourteen second he was running back points allowed six running back rushing yards allowed seven fewest running back yards per game. So it was a very good run defense for Jacksonville. And then Derrick Henry if you think back to that week three game when the titans and the Jaguars played the first time of the season. Derrick Henry got. More carries in week three at Jacksonville eighteen than he did in this game. He managed a sixty seven yards. So he'd already failed basically against Jacksonville. They were red hot Dion Lewis had been been more of the primary guy. However he had been scoring touchdowns coming into that game. And so people I think reluctantly started him hoping he would fall into the into the end zone. Seventeen carries two hundred thirty eight yards. Four touchdowns. Forty seven point eight fantasy points came out of nowhere to me. He's the winner. You got the vote as well. Yeah. Pretty much the same stats that. I was looking at. And it was the, you know, if you follow this podcast for a while we and we're talking about this before show. You've heard us use the term fantasies on being the way. This is a player. We are trying to side if you really qualified as that because he wasn't really good to start the season and then disappeared, but I think the expectation was Derrick Henry was gonna have so much more opportunity with DeMarco Murray being gone, you thought he was going to be a solid performer. It didn't happen you probably gave up on him. And then these these few weeks at the end of the season came out of nowhere. Congratulations. Derrick Henry who wins award one warned to goes to the show. That is not what we practiced at all..
