"The draft which is kind of historically harder to do than it seems but i think when teams are smart. They're smart they do clearly like the spurs have made some terrific picks And so they're basically building team. Excuse me that has like all these fantastically sort of organized players if derek whyte john murray lani walker called jaka does Fantastic like mobile rim-protector And then to mars at the core of it so like yes damore. Isn't the best player change of team in that traditional understanding. But what does it look like when you add like one or two more pieces. Obviously marmot below old for that but like really young guys around a little bit. Are you looking at like another. You know not to say that. Demars like jimmy butler quiet Raptors heat situation where you have afford the team like the jazz. I guess Who can make it work based on scheme rather than max players. I think that's kind of a very interesting case. Study and i'm glad you brought the mara Because he i think he might not make it to win. It would make sense for the spurs to like be peaking per se. I feel old then. But they're going to have you know they've got picks and they've done a great job. Hunting value layer in the draft I think we've seen this year that there's going to be some guys that probably This kind of going off like espn being boards. That i would take much higher than they're going to go. And so you're gonna have like lottery talents. Mid lottery towns falling into the teens or twenties where the spurs are gonna be picking And i'll be excited to kinda see how they how they take it. Yeah yeah no. I totally agree. And it's gonna be interesting to see what a what a what the spurs do with the and. I'm still i do i. It is actually going. It should be on a monday. Because i'm going to just take like this entire fucking weekend and make sure that i have it written out but i'm really bad at like a much easier for me to do pods than right lake. It just like this like a screen. Moore's in the microphone edited later But it's funny because with the mar- like he's i just think like you mentioned. I think that enough people haven't really a antiquated how important he is to what they do like. There's like old Passes a lot now He's actually taking threes again. Sort of like the. He doesn't have to be like forced to do it. Which is nice. But like i still think too. Like i went back and i watched like a bunch of his games. From from fifteen and sixteen just to see what's been different playmaking wise and i think lavish just the court opening up that. He's like progressive. I'm sure he's progressed. A little bit in making reads. Whatever i don't think it's really like super notable by like he. What's so funny about him too is. He's the kinda guy who yelled the fuck out of by coaches. Because i think eighty five percent of his passes out of double teams or from jumping off one leg in throwing it out which i can just picture like a dan. Dockage screaming on. Espn but that you know you're probably doing something right if dan doctors yelling at you so But yeah no the spurs fun..

"Demar derozen is a much better player. Who's or danny green. He would be a bona fide third score for sure. Any can also make plays for his teammates. Here's the problem fit. Notice all those highlights they were in the mid range. The marta rose does not really fit. What the lakers need the lakers need. Three d guys and derozen is not good at either. Not only does he not make threes heat take threes the last two years. He averaged one three point a tip every two games. Think about that one three pointer. Every two gave the spurs had to jump through hoops last season to fit around him. Because he's such doesn't take threes and he's a really good score so i don't like the fit if you notice. Lebron anthony davis they need spacing they want and love spacing and demar would not bring that. Their achilles heel is a team. Last year their weakness was their lack of three point shooting. They were in the bottom third in both the regular season and the playoffs. They would get worse in three point shooting if they made this deal. Look lebron's third stars. Historically they become spot up three point shooters chris. Bosh miami kevin love in cleveland. We've seen off. The dribble scores struggle with lebron isaiah. Thomas and derrick rose so look if he would come off the bench and own that second unit and be a score maybe but overall. I'm the lakers. I continue looking elsewhere for guys that are better shooters. Three and diguise. Than for the rosen industry. Chris such a strong take and that's shocking coming from a resident nba expert. What do you mean is not a good fit. This doesn't remind you of of lebron james and d- way d- way wasn't known for shooting de way wasn't in the prime of his career playing defense. This is really good for them. Like come on coming from our resident. nba expert. I am shop. Out of the rosen. Is erin become chris bosh is. Anthony told him that he going to play his game. Is he's the rosen's want to be exactly who he's been the last seven years guys going to come in and give you twenty points. A guy that's going to come in gaming guys come in and give you five to six. Rebounds that's rosen. That's why this is such a really good fit. So i'm shocked that you went that way and was so strong with your take. So so i lean closer to broussard. Side into brandon inside. I don't hate it. And the reason i don't hate it is because a it gets coups moth. The team that would be great does not tie up money. Long-term the giro's derozen makes a lot of money but it's only one more year. So keep the lakers in free agency for the following off season when they can maybe target another true star or just fill out the roster better and be whether he comes off the bench or not. He could play most of his minutes with the bench unit and be that creator score. They need so. I understand it but what no one has mentioned is the biggest reason i wouldn't do it. Aside from the spacing is in aggressively bad defensive player and the lakers won the championship. Because they were the best defensive team basketball and danny green brought to things to you one was defense and the other was even on the postseason. He could not make shot. Watch the games. Nobody was leaving them open. They still respected him in the corner. So he's still created spacing even if at the time it didn't he didn't deserve to create the spacing. So if i. I don't think this would make the lakers worse. But i do think the floor would get compacted. And i ain't the defense would suffer greatly. I would far rather them target dinner. Schreuder if he were available. Potentially maybe victor depot. But i don't think they're able to get him. But i think there are better fit because if you're going to make a big move like this. I don't want to sacrifice shooting and defense defense. Which was they're calling guard wilds and shooting which was their biggest need last season throughout the year in the postseason it also leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Like the lakers can add a piece. But you don't get to add a four time all star in two thousand nine to five and five i'm durant to the warriors but it's m the same arena for a guy that's been nothing loyal and was kind and what you're adding a star. Is he not even want dennis shroud. Or you can get dennis schroder. You can get schroeder.

"Your home for everything Lakers your home for the 2020 NBA champions 7000 times. Let's go today. We are going to talk all about. Well, what else the offseason it's hear. The craziness of free agency is already here yet for agency doesn't start until November you technically but who are we getting it started? We're going to talk about all the trade rumors that are out there DeMar DeRozan Victor Oladipo Chris Paul Dennis Schroder a bunch of other guys too is Avery Bradley leaving the lake. We've got all kinds of storylines to dive into tonight and we're going to be taking your questions and comments going to give it away some lakersnation.com license plate frames plus some lakersnation.com T-shirts as well. So we've got a job. Fun to do tonight joining me tonight. We've got Gary Sheffield Junior Gary man. How are you doing? The NBA? It's it's already going crazy and we haven't even really officially start off kind of the crazy part yet. I'm doing great. Obviously. I saw the whole Russell Westbrook thing and oh man it wasn't it. I mean how weird was it that they wished him a happy birthday the very next day after he demanded a trade. It's like I just I didn't know how to feel about it. But right now there's I remember thinking literally the last show that we did when are the Lakers going to do with DeMar DeRozan, I mean wage and it's it felt like their options are running thin and now there's just a million different players that are really up for grabs, especially heading into the draft that's in like a week. So I just wasn't expecting it to be this active so I can't wait. Yeah. I mean, I think what it is is there's not a lot of cap space around the league and so teams that want to make some sort of a change their roster. Well, they're only real Avenue left is to trade and so we're seeing more teams get involved in those sorts of things. Erio's I also think it's interesting to see the teams that like the Charlotte Hornets are popping up as a landing spot for Russell Westbrook. Why do they want Russell Westbrook? I think we're seeing more teams that are thinking. Okay. We had been playing for a while. Revenue was down. We need to we need to make a splash right to steal mine from from draft day that terrible football movie. They need to make a splash you need to get I bought to get that attention. And so you see teams making boobs that they normally probably wouldn't like the Hornets being interested in Russell Westbrook your your Phoenix Suns going after crisp. Although I think you can rationalize that one a lot more than the Hornets going after Westbrook. I don't get the fit there. But you know what? It's what we're seeing right now. If anything it's going to make it even more interesting because there's going to be some surprise Landing spots for a few of these guys to Hawks and Jrue Holiday. That's the other one that I'm like. Wow. Yeah, that's not a contending team and they're making a move for what should be like the final piece onto onto a contender wage. Normally don't see stuff like that happening know and and and you said it without fans and they I think they already said that they're not sure what's going to go on with the fans of twenty..

"And to your point so much of that messaging from people can be well intentioned but actually be reinforcing negative and bad behaviors dhamar in basketball very different right. Of course you have to be fit and of course you have to be in shape but it's this focus on toughness right and so especially as a black man in a sport like the nba. How difficult was it for you at that. Low point to acknowledge except that you want to help definitely tough. You know just like marley said it's it's it's like you know you have a streak of you have a week of great games and you being praised everybody says some good to you how you scored as many points how you wanna game how you had this shot and a lot of times you know so me that two and a half hours is is my escape from reality but as soon as you walk away from it you know every positive thing that you hear kind of it kind of hurts because you really suffering from something that you feel like you can't say out lau you own express the nobody you'll want to seem like you make some type -scuse you find any reason not to say something you know but you.

What Will Coach Nick Saban's Absence Mean For Alabama Football Game Against Georgia On Saturday?

"To Jordan Rogers Course the Tennessee Kentucky game to mark Jordan. Let me bounce around a little bit and everybody's talking. Around the country about Auburn about Obama and Georgia and Nick Sabin. You've been on the field with head coaches and you how important that position is except nick? Sabin doesn't really do much on the offensive side, but he does a lot on the defensive side. What what would what will his absence mean? Demar on that sideline? I think it's huge and I would argue quickly Paul I. Think he does do a lot on the offensive side. I have able to sit down and watch a ton of Alabama TV film writer TV Games because we're I'm usually broadcasting a game remember back when it was Lane Kiffin Colin place remember how much we saw them but in heads and communicating on the sideline. So there are a lot of adjustments in feedback that Nick Sabin Gibbs. To operative coaches but again, the defensive side is going to be missed most here's what I'll say I like I. Haven't seen good teams have great game plants going into Games. Great teams make great adjustments in. That's the difference with Nick Sabin, his ability to adjust in game going back to the National Championship game against Georgia pull the plug on. jalen hurts put to a ton of low in. That's a big adjustment that you see so many. Small. Adjustments that come from the minded Nick Sabin in game because he's done this. So long at such a high level things that people don't see that he's able to see and he has an instinct. So that's where they're gonNA miss him the most in a close game when adjustments need to be made and as well on the opposite side. Right? You've got a guy that good of defense he's going to walk over to Steve Sarkisian go hey. If they're playing this coverage. Here's where the week I'd go this right. He's GonNa give subtle adjustments and hints and tips to what to do on both sides of the ball. So I think the the presence, not only from a figurehead of what he means to that program, but the ability to adjust in Game I. Think it's a big loss.

NBA Storylines Down the Stretch

"Doris Burke is an NBA analyst for ESPN so doors the All star break is over and NBA. Games are back. We wanted to talk to you. About what surprised you so far this season. And how you see the last couple of months shaping up as we enter the homestretch before the playoffs. Let's start in the East right where there is an unequivocal number. One team in Milwaukee they have the best record in the NBA and they are destroying teams winning by an average margin of victory of more than twelve points per game now of the eleven teams that have had a double digit margin of victory over the course of a season. Eight have gone on to win it. All Doris. Is there something that stands between Milwaukee and the NBA Finals? Yeah this is a great question. So in their eight losses the one thread that is consistent throughout those are teams are averaging sixteen point nine threes and philosophically. Their priority is protect. The paint. First and foremost they are so elite. At that that we have not seen this kind of rim protection in the modern NBA. With the possible exception of Spurs team that had both Tim Duncan and David Robinson but the fact of the matter if a team gets hot and really can create shot opportunities then. I think that they can be beat. The other thing that happens is your and you saw in the All Star game. Jaanus is the first player to go twenty five and eleven back to back all star Games but he was over to note points in the fourth quarter because they did playoff teams. We'll do they set up a wall and they said somebody else is going to beat us so well. No one's really doubting the bucks at this point. I think there is still a lot of skepticism about the number two seed in the east the Toronto Raptors. I mean after losing finals. Mvp Kawhi Leonard. They were not seen as favorites coming into this year yet. They have the same record right now that they had at this point last season doors one hand the raptors have been under five hundred against winning teams but on the other they had a lot of. Are we underestimating them? While I'm definitely giving them punchers chance to get to the Eastern Conference finals and a punchers chance to come out in the past historically particularly when Demar Derozan Kyle lowry. Were on the team together. What we knew was they understood how to win in the regular season but they're always seemed to be this level of doubt in their minds when the calendar turn to April but the fact of the matter is. They changed that a year ago with championship. There is a different feel a different presents a different countenance about the entire group and yes unequivocally the record versus plus five hundred versus minus five hundred is concerning but let's remember that their top six guys including Serge Ibaka. Who's having the Best Year of his career? Kyle lowry Markelle Saul Fred Van Bleed. Norman Powell Pascal them. All six of those guys have missed at least ten games so I don't know that we have the clearest picture the other thing working in their favors they have one of the best coaches in the league. Nick nurse wears that head coaches mantle with ease. Why because he's been calling the shots for the vast majority of his career. In any number of circumstances his creative he's fearless. He's a little bit irreverent. And I'm telling you mean ah I give them a punchers chance to get to an east finals and a punchers chance to get out. Did you see this coming at all? Doors not even close and this is the question really ultimately. Do they have enough offense in what you're seeing is to me. What appears to be this grooming of Pascal? Ceac him of all right. You gotta go get your own in those minutes and a playoff circumstance where you don't care whether it's a mid range to a fall away jump shot a jump shot under duress of excellent defense. What matters is I need to put the ball in the basket right now because this game is teetering on our control or there's and we've got to have one and you're watching Pascal. Can he deliver in the postseason? He's been excellent in the regular season. I can't wait to see a play out. I think it feels right now. Like you've got the bucks in a tier of their own and then you've got the raptors celtics heat kind of swirling around each other. There was a feeling ahead of the trade deadline that the heat could vault to that number. Two spot perhaps even contend with the bucks if they really went all in and added Gala Nari. They didn't they did add Igwe Dolla. Do you think that's enough? You know the the last prism through which I saw. Andre Gonzala was a man who was battling an Achilles in the playoff series and seemed to be showing the signs of some age. But what I know. Unequivocally is this man from a basketball intellect standpoint. According to Kerr is one of the smartest in the history of the League. He has got championship. Dna He's got positional versatility on the defensive end that basketball intellect and the ability to process information quickly and to do it under the spotlight of the playoffs. He has all of that. I'm anxious to see how he changes the dynamic the Miami Heat. You know this. They're going to play hard defensively every single night. They're going to mix in one of the most effective zones we see in today's NBA and Eric's bolster is outstanding coach. So right now sitting in that fourth spot how far Jimmy Butler can take them. That'll be interesting. Those young guys. Right Duncan Robinson Tyler Hero Kendrick Nunn all those guys who have performed so well in the regular season when the calendar switches. Can you win with them? Let's see

Food Waste + Poop = Electricity

"Everybody Emily Kwong here. Filling in for Mattie WHO's out training for thumb were competition today our story comes from NPR correspondent. Alison opry the. Hey there emily. Hey Alison so what you got for us. Well why don't we start with a pop quiz. What do you say? I thrive in. Quick pressure. Go on do you know how much of the food supply in the. US never makes it to our mouths. Ten percent thirty two Orley percents. Thirty to forty percents is the estimate in fact folks at the. USDA the US Department of Agriculture estimate that you could fill the Willis Tower in Chicago goes big skyscraper every year forty four times the amount of food that goes to waste that is staggering. Food waste is this huge problem and on top hopping being a massive waste when food ends up in a landfill. It rots and a lot of methane is released and methane is a greenhouse gas which is a huge contributor attributed. Climate jets right. It traps heat in the atmosphere and methane is over twenty times more potent than carbon dioxide in terms of its warming the impact in fact a recent report from the United Nations found that up to ten percent of all human made greenhouse gas emissions are actually linked to food waste. I humans we're just we're just the worst you know but we're also kind of good at coming up with solutions for Demar species. Okay sure well to solve this problem. Some farmers farmers and Massachusetts are taking all of that methane making food waste and turning it into energy actually making electricity to power nearly fifteen hundred here at homes. Wow that's pretty amazing. And to make that energy these farmers or combining that food waste with something else that can be a big source of methane especially on big big farms. I'll give you a hint. It stinks Oh cow poop. That's right and it's stored in these big pits and cow. POOP can release a a lot of methane as well. So you're saying that farmers have found a way to take to methane sources food waste and manure and turn it into energy. That's right to methane source is is one stone so today on the show we had to Massachusetts to get a closer look at how some dairy farmers are turning tons of cow. POOP and truckloads food waste into Green Energy Alison. I suspect this is going to get messy but I was thinking more like two parallel line from our colleague. Dan Charles. We're GONNA get a whiff of the future. Okay Allison before we get into how these farmers are doing this a host talk about. Why is it just about methane and the environment? Well I mean. I'm sure a lot of farmers do care about the environment but really times are tough for dairy farmers is out there. I mean many farmers are looking for ways to diversify their incomes. They've gotten very efficient at doing what they do. Producing milk perhaps to efficient. And that makes it tough have to be in business so my name is Peter Melnick and I'm a fourth generation dairy farmer in Deerfield Massachusetts. I visited Peter's farm late last year. He's one of a handful of farmers in Massachusetts converting wasted food and manure into electricity. He has essentially turned part of his family farm. Fire into this mini power plant. Well and he says they're saving about one hundred thousand dollars a year by producing energy a hundred thousand dollars a year. That's huge savings. Yeah Okay so how. How does this waste to energy process actually work so a key piece of equipment on the MELNYK farm? Is this ANAEROBIC digesters. adjuster fun name. What is an ANAEROBIC digesters? So it was basically a big sealed tank and when the food waste in the manure are put into the tank and heated. All all of this biomass is broken down. By the little organisms the bacteria and a methane bio gas is produced from this big mixture. That's right and and the digest that he has on his arm has a tank that can hold about a million gallon of what is basically a big organic waste Brownie. Yes and then as methane is released it rises to the top of a bubble shaped dome recapture the gas in that bubble and then we suck it into a generator. It's about the size of your car. And that engine run on methane instead of diesel or gasoline and that in turn is turning big generator which is then creating one megawatt. The water is one mega law a lot of electricity. Well to put this in context. This operation power is not only his farm in his home but a lot more. We only use about ten percent of what we make in the rescue. It's fed onto the grid and it's almost enough to do fifteen hundred homes. That is a huge output. Oh put energy fifteen hundred homes and you mentioned that Peter is mixing food waste in with the manure. Why is he adding food? Waste too well the more you add to the digested the more volume you have. The more electricity can make so that manure may not produce enough to make the economics of the digestive system work out you need scale right. So Peters not not only using this manure he's also processing millions of pounds of food waste from across the Boston area food that is spoiled or surplus also a lot of waste products from food production facilities around the state traditionally all this would end up in a landfill but instead it is to his farm we presently take in about a hundred hundred ton which is about three tractor trailer loads every day. WHOA that is a huge amount of food waste? I watched it. It's amazing I mean these trucks and and it's just piped in to this big hit where then ends up in the digest. Her gets waste from the local creamery. Waste from a local brewery rury local juice plant and then another big source for him is waste from whole foods. The grocery chain seventeen of their stores in Massachusetts participate dissipate There's a woman at whole foods Karen Franchet. She showed us how it all works. We do have items that we can't sal either because they're spoiled vitamins. That are bruised that we might not be able to sell so what she showed us when we visited. Is this big industrial Masher. This was at the whole foods roots in Shrewsbury Massachusetts. It basically gobbles up everything that would be wasted and you can imagine. There's everything from bones. We put fish in there. Um Vegetables You can have dry items like rice or grains so it really becomes kind of a liquefied food ways liquefied show. Yeah Okay and what happens next. Wow so the slurry is loaded into the tank of a truck. It heads to Peter's farm and then it goes right into the digest or anything anything that ends up going to landfill or incineration costs us more money. That is the most expensive way to get rid of waste on our source so this is cheaper for whole foods. That's right it is and also I should point out in Massachusetts. Grocery stores and food producers aren't allowed to send this organic waste to landfills anymore. The estate passed a law back in two thousand fourteen that restricts this it applies to all businesses the generate over a ton of organic. Waste a week. Wow so there's incentive for supermarkets like foods to participate in something like that exactly. Okay let's go back to our farm for a minute. Can any farmer get in on this. Like how did Peter get his digest her. Well here's how it works. The digesters are built and run by a company called Vanguard Renewables Vanguard pays farmers a fee for the use of their land and and also gives them free electricity to power their farms and houses. Right now there are five digesters spread out across the state the CEO. Oh of Vanguard Renewables Jon Hansen says he hopes that this whole operation expands. There's more than enough food waste in Massachusetts to feed all of our I five digesters plus many more allison. Do you get the sense that this is something that can be realistically expanded. You know I think it really depends on the right mix of policies as an incentives. That's what Massachusetts put in place. They passed the commercial food material disposal band. They had a series of grants. I mean this is a new approach so I think we'd have have to look to see. Would we have some kind of federal policy or other state policies to promote this handsome and told me he's really inspired by what's happened in Europe where he says there's more than seventeen eight thousand digesters so we saw what was happening in Europe where anaerobic digestion is extremely widespread across the United States. We don't have that incentive incentive program. We don't have the federal energy policy or any federal benefits. Fran rubel digestion. We are at the cusp. We're at the early days. We've finally got the economics onyx to work. And when I spoke to Peter Melnick about this the farmer he says he really agrees as the price of milk has really been flat. The digesters for is just been A home run for us in that sense. It's made us more sustainable environmentally but also economically as well Alison thank you so much for taking us to Massachusetts where this kind of amazing chain of suppliers and energy makers exists now. I know where to send all my extra cow manure and food waste. Oh my pleasure. It was really a great story to report.

Most Managers Never Get Trained on This Crucial Skill

"A question of the day. What is the most important decision? Managers ever make Da I give you the award award for the day budget budget Let me see no keeping their boss. Happy clearly not golf golf. No hiring is the most important decision that any manager makes because it has ideally long term repercussions for the organization and interviewing is the single most important process around hiring and the vast majority of managers in the world are making hiring decisions without ever having being trained on how to interview. Isn't that just crazy just crazy. Yeah and all the decisions make sense the time but they add up to an enormous weakness weakness for so many organizations so folks the way to avoid that is to start training your racks on howdy interview before they become managers. It's not hard if your manager now. This is so so easy when we walk you through this process. We've got six steps. You'll just say like I could've done that. Yeah it's not hard nothing we're gonNA tell you to do is complex six steps number one. Have your direct interview. People who come in who are going to become their peers. Brief briefed them on the process. You use to assess and screen and interview and decide and the process you use on in those decisions. Have them sit in on interviews. Haven't sit in on what we call. The interview results capture meeting or capture session which happens at the end of the day. Then allow them to interview in practice where they go through an interview but they don't get a vote at the end of the day and the capture meeting and then of course the last step is the training never ends. I tell people all the time Wendy and I've interviewed. Oh Gosh thirty. Forty fifty thousand people between us and we're still learning inning about interviewing. He has an. If you don't have any training at all you can go from knowing nothing to being pretty good pretty quickly by falling some of of our guidance but to be the expert. Let's just like anything else. There's a lot of things when it comes to people and relationships and communication that the high end of it is an and art. And what's funny is when people tell people say and I've said this before about other things that I thought I had mastered. I'd only mastered the basics the science the building blocks the if you don't know anything and nobody ever teaches you when you learn something you feel. Some joy in learning hidden hidden in the hard won hard fought experience of going through it and having an Aha moment going I learned that because nobody taught me I just learned it the hard hard way and then you suddenly realize that as you start learning more about that area that yearly learning the basics and there's a whole nother another level that happens on top of that the art of it and I'm still perfecting my art of of interviewing and some people think I'm good I've learned a couple of basic important certain things and we know there's like twenty five important basic things. I'm glad you're learning them. But it's too bad. Somebody has taught you because if you've been taught those twenty-five things would all been cleared you've known them rather than having to do one hundred interviews to learn them and then you would have spent your time learning learning the art rather than the science rather than the basics. It's a good way. Think about luckily for folks. We're here to learn the hard way they'll have to learn it the way my hi can I did so look guys. I AP have your direct interview for people who are going to become their peers when you have an open requisition for direct act manager tools recommends that your Iraq's interview the candidates just like you do that's a core part of what we call the manager editor tools effective hiring process. We certainly don't want a non trained direct interviewing for the record or we don't want to do not train a direct at all and have them learn how to do it when they're already a manager Holy Toledo. We've gotTA train them somehow beforehand. I know it's obvious but it can't let one of your directs. Become a manager without having trained them on how to conduct a full interview process conduct their own solo interview and make hiring recommendations and hiring decisions. You can't you can't say if Mike My boss and I wanNA promote Danny who works for me and I say to. Mike UNITA needed promote her. She's going to be a great manager. And then Danny gets promoted. And I've never taught her how to interview and suddenly her team grows. Rose and Mike finds out that Demar Danny just know how to interview. Oh yes sorry. We really busy. And we didn't have much interviewing so I'd allow myself not only alias. Mike now disappointed in. We're Danny is east disappointed in me because I didn't do my job and as we've said before all too often there are individual contributors in the world who get promoted to be manager. Their previous manager help them get the job directly or indirectly with a lot of work or not a lot of work depending upon. How good a manager there were didn't do the necessary and requisite preparation person gets promoted and they do poorly in the next job and they're the ones who struggle? They're the ones whose careers damaged. And it's their old manager's fault it's not right now look guys were talking about training. You're directs here on how to interview. But we're not talking about the kind of interviewing training that. Hr might give you or your company. Hr does some form of interviewing training. There's no question that. HR plays an important role in hiring and your mileage may vary folks your hr organization may be different but typically hr if they offer interviewing training is around legal issues. Like discrimination equal employment illegal questions and the process H. Argos through which usually involves cutting resumes and telephone screening and offers and how they make offers news or how they're the one that gets to make the offer as opposed the higher manager which we disagree with but in some cases that's the way it is companies also if there are benefits and compensation issues choose to be discussed how. HR's involved in that right. That's all necessary and important stuff right and we have opportunities. Each of your direct should go that training. We know that information. Hey look if. Hr Does interviewing training at your company. Be thankful tip your hat to the HR people and go and then send your drax because you're a lot better off than a lot of companies who don't have any training at all but don't assume that HR has taught them everything they need to know on how to interview it's found lightly. HR is going to teach them how to develop questions how to probe based on an answer or how to decide whom to hire. Let me give you a perfect example. One of my favorite examples about interviewing that just ought to scare people if in fact it's true for them. One of the things I mentioned is. HR typically for good reasons wants managers to understand as an example that there are illegal legal questions in interviews now. Hr doesn't actually mean that but that's the way many people who are listening to this. This guidance heard this and said Oh. Yeah they're illegal questions actually folks. There are not in the US and Canada and a lot of places to but we check the law and these two places there are no illegal questions. You may ask any question you wish you simply cannot use their answer to discriminate upon a discriminate eight against them based on what you learn so a classic example would be stupidly asking a female candidate. ooh Do do you have plans for having children the next couple years the idea being of course if this woman is GonNa want pregnancy leave she won't be as useful. This is dumb but there are men who think think it. She's not going to be as useful so I won't offer her because she won't give me as much work in the next couple of years so therefore that question about do you intend to have kids or are you pregnant somehow somehow is an illegal question. No it's not a legal question. It's a stupid question. It's a wrong question you'll probably get in trouble for it but it's not illegal. They can use it as some evidence. Not Proof evidence that you're discriminating based on that right if you don't hire them so so hr says don't ask the question. That's just an aside folks if if you believe that there are such things as illegal questions that tells you how little you actually know about

"Which his Minnesota's in the eighty the way things have shaken out so far this year we have lost teams that are at least one is in dire straits so we had marked up the warriors a playoff team and ain't a playoff team? This year the Blazers. We had marked as a playoff team and at least through the first fourteen games. They're five and nine so far and so you've got those two teams so I look at it and I say there's there's places they are once once you get past. The Lakers rockets nuggets clippers and jazz those five teams. Somebody's going to have to be three or six six through eight and you look right now. It's pretty wide open. I mean who do you believe in the most the mavericks sons. The T. Wolves. Those are all playoff playoff teams as of today. Which of those teams do you believe in the most? Mave Sons T.. Wolves the Mavericks. Of course I'm giving them the most they've not even I don't even close they have a potential. MVP on the roster all right and then once you get past there it's like a bunch of losing records and everybody. That's that's what I mean. The Spurs are in the playoff bubble. And I'm just saying like you're always. We never know the way this stuff is going to play out and so by point by point point is I guess they could make the playoffs that yes they could as a six seven or eighth seed Whoop de do they lost in a game seven to the succeed last year. Why are we acting like they're so far? I'm like Oh they'll just great player also get bounced like they lost to the two seed in a game seven so all all five and nine. He'd get rid of their good players. Look you look. You're you're looking. You're looking at this season for San Antonio. I'm looking the next ten years. That's the difference. I'm thinking for San Antonio Right now with the Marta Rosen. He can become a free agent next summer. Is it more beneficial to keep Pimm and maybe slip into the playoffs or is it more beneficial to maybe don't make a trade but at least explore trades. I don't know what's out there for Demar. There wasn't much of a market for him when the Spurs traded for him. That's why there was so much shock when it actually happens but at least thinking about exploring the idea internally. Ah I think that's the right thing to do for this franchise and I have a hard time understanding. How like you are so firmly against that? When the in the long-term Damore can leave? Next summer he could choose to leave and you could lose him for nothing so like you might not have a choice to keep him. He may choose. WHO's to leave and for San Antonio? I'm saying because they're just a bubble team because they're a team that's in all likelihood not gonna make much noise in the postseason. It's at least reasonable to think about trading him and same goes for LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE WHO turns thirty five next year with one year left on his deal. And maybe just maybe in a market in a trademark right now. Well there's nobody available. There's nobody relevant on the market. Maybe if you were to PLOP lamarcus Aldridge on on the block and say hey we're willing to trade the rose inner aldridge maybe for San Antonio some team out there that actually feels like they have a shot is going to be like we. We need that guy and maybe they overpaid for that player. And for San Antonio maybe that becomes a more beneficial decision for them to make rather than keeping keeping them. That's my only point. My only point is that San Antonio is beat sue. Ann is looking at more than just the season. It's not just about making the postseason. It's all building a sustainable winner. That is best positioned for success over the next decade. Not just speaking in the postseason in one thousand nine hundred eighty season. This is about twenty twenty early. Twenty twenty one twenty twenty two twenty twenty three. It's not about bottoming out. It's about sustaining success. In exploring all your options. That's my only point Chris. That's it because as you think you can get something good for Ramaroson right now. That would sustain that success maybe or Lamar especially because especially because the nature of the trade eight market right now. Nobody's available nobody. Good is available. So maybe if you put a guy who to your point in your own words the Rosen is good in Aldridge still has ask Nice moments as well. Maybe if that guy gets put on the market you have multiple teams. That are like we need that guy to take advantage of our situation. This she'd have a shot. I don't know what team that would be. But there's a handful of teams out there that can make moves. Even somebody like Dallas theoretically if they're like we maximize is issue with Luca or Boston. which could use a big man? There's a handful of teams out there or Indiana. I don't know Orlando maybe one of these teams teams like this is a guy that can help over the top. You don't think there's any way that they could keep those two and enhance that. I mean sure you could. You could go that way. That was is the the problem. I don't think the rest of these guys are all that good. If thought that they're the problem it's that they're just maybe not part of the solution in the grand scheme of the franchise. That's what I mean. Like the Rosen is a good player and I think I think it's a shame with the rose in that he gets knocked for not shooting threes. Like that's a that's an issue and his own game that he doesn't shoot threes stories for a lot of reasons but he's also you know it's an issue that he is in a good defender but he's a really good he's transformed himself into a really good playmaker. And and that showed last season when San Antonio put the ball on his hands after Zonta Mari went down to Rosen in the pick and roll in an isolation and post ups to became. I'm of really good. Playmaker for that team in the endless in their scheme of ball movement and he can become a guy who scores for you at the end of the clock there's value in that Eldridge to he. Maybe he is slow down offensively. Maybe he doesn't bring it offensively every single night and he has some annoyingly annoying. Frustrating Games for Spurs fans ends but he can still have big games for you as a scoring post presence. These eyes are still good. My point is that maybe it's just not the right time for them with San Antonio but for another team like it was for Marco Soul Asher Toronto. Maybe they can be that really good piece that a team ads and it can potentially put them over the top and for San Antonio. I think there's logic to at least considering moving these guys or exploring trading these guys because you get get more than you might expect to get because there's nobody else out there for San Antonio. It's not just about the season the next ten years. Well Luckily we're GONNA do podcast. Cast all year. We'll reconvene on this when they're thirty games in their nine right now and and you're like high told you so I'm going to say I still still feel the same exact way you think. They're going to be in the succeed and I can. I mean you might. You might get a chance but I'm still going to feel the same exact in fact way I've got to imagine twenty eight in the NBA and defense is not going to stay that way. I just refuse to believe that I don't I do I mean that's I mean that's miserable. All Twenty Aldridge isn't moving the same way and defense right now. I thought Aldridge's pretty solid last year on the defensive end like almost like impressed that then thirty three years old Doing what he did this year. He does not look good on the floor..

"And now you have your final four. I watched some of Denver that was interesting against San Antonio. But you've got stuff happening during the game prior to the game after the game. You got front office people going in and challenging the officials in their office. Demar derozan. Throwing a ball at the official. But everything else, you know, there's chippiness with Lillard and Russell Westbrook. This is good for TV little bit of drama. And although I can't have the GM go into the official's locker room. And I probably don't wanna have Moro's in throwing a basketball at an official but other than that there was some excitement. It's interesting. Feels like it's. Little wide open in the east. Maybe not so much in the in the west poll question, mclovin. From the first hour, we'll go number one overall sixty seven percent say yes. Yeah. I'm still in that camp. I just don't think you bring in cliff Kingsbury who was a controversial higher unless you're bringing in Cuyler Murray. I know that cliff Kingsbury can help Josh Rosen. But I- feels like Cuyler Murray lets him showcase his ability to be an offense of innovator genius. If you will and bringing Cuyler Murray, you you might be changing the NFL. I mean, that's how big this pick is plus lift Kingsbury future's going to be attached to this pick. He's probably saying look, I'll take this job. But I wanna make sure I bring in my guy who I'm going to coach not that he said that. But that would be the approach I would have if I if I'm going to do this. And I get to bring in my guy, then you know, I have I have a pretty good chances succeeding here. Yeah. Mclovin. If they're gonna take him number one. Why not just say now it's Monday. What why still hold out sort of this drama? I guess you still have to hold out the possibility that somebody offers you a whole lot more. I don't know what's going on with the raiders now that they sent all their scouts home. They don't trust them. They can't keep any information. You know, they're worried about leaks there. You got to media savvy guys in Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden. You would think that they would understand what you can say not say, and what you're going to even tell your scouts in a situation. Like that. All I want for my scout. Is I want information? I don't want to give you my opinion. I want to give you I want you to get information for me to come back and say, you know, what here in great things about drew lock. This is what I'm hearing about him. Great. It's not where you go. Okay. We'll take him fourth overall. You get your information. And you gather your information, and then it's up to you know, one two three people select people that you're gonna share your opinions with and those front offices are getting tighter and tighter. And tighter. When it comes to information getting out eight seven seven three DP show as we do every Monday best and worst of the weekend. You'll also earn two percent cashback at grocery stores and one percent on all other purchases. Now when you go out you cash in what's in your wallet? Welcome to brain stuff from how stuff works. Hey, rain stuff Lauren vocal bomb here when commercial air travel. I started to catch on in the nineteen thirties. One of the big attractions for passengers was the chance to stare out the window at the landscape from startlingly, new perspective, high above it. Of course, many of us still like to gays out in wonder from those little portal's a survey by courts in two thousand fourteen found that more than half of Americans prefer having a window seat on an airline, though, people who fly more than once a year are more evenly split between window, and I'll seats that's why you may be surprised to learn that for decades aircraft designers have been contemplating planes with video screens instead of passenger windows back in the mid nineteen nineties. Nasa actually built and flew an experimental Boeing seven thirty-seven with a windowless cockpit equipped with digital and infrared cameras and video monitors and in two thousand fourteen the UK based center for process innovation unveiled design for a windowless airliner in which the entire interior. Of the cabin would be lined with thin. Flexible, high definition video screens that would provide lighting and entertainment as well. As a more expansive view of the outside, but concept has been put into practice. Lest April Dubai based airline Emirates debuted Boeing seven seventy seven's with enclosed private suites equipped with virtual windows to provide of you of outside from the middle of the plane. We spoke by Email with Jerome demar an emerets public relations official. He said the virtual windows were installed for first class suites located in the middle aisle as they are fully enclosed suites with floored ceiling doors, and passengers would not be able to view the windows on the sides of the aircraft. We asked him how they worked and he explained these virtual windows projected the view from outside the aircraft using real time camera technology, the cameras are placed in strategic locations to offer. Passengers a real time view outside the aircraft. The actual view is determined by which side of the aircraft the entrance to the suite is writer. Left that is the view that will appear in these centres suites. The cameras are high resolution devices, which offer a very clear wide view of the outside the virtual window provides a sharp, clear realistic view of what's outside anecdote. Passengers of told us, they prefer the view to that of real windows in a BBC news article emerets president, sir. Tim Clark was quoted about the future possibility of planes without windows. But Demere said that there are no current plans for a windowless airliner. However, at least one aircraft manufacturer does aim to go windowless on a smaller scale for the past several years, a privately owned, Boston based company, spike aerospace has been working to develop a spike s five twelve and eighteen passengers supersonic business jet packed with technology that will enable it to cut travel time significantly without excess you'll consumption or loud, sonic, booms. And we'll do all of that. Without passenger windows. The aircraft's design will include what spike airspace calls a multiplex digital cabin. Instead of gazing through the usual, small portal windows. Passengers will be able to watch a pair of twenty foot long. That's six meter digital video screens that will stretch the length of the cabin on either side of the aircraft. Multiple high definition cameras mounted on the exterior of the plane will provide four K video which computers in the aircraft was stitched together. Using special software developed by the company we spoke with spike airspace. President and chief executive officer, Victoria, who explained whatever image. You want to see can be displayed you can see left or right in front of the plane or behind it looking down or up into the sky. It's a more panoramic view than the very limited view that you can see out of a porthole window. Eliminating conventional acrylic glass windows from an aircraft could have other advantages as well, it would insulate the fuselage making it possible to reduce noise. From the engines, it would also strengthen the aircraft and make it safer. Some serious engineering goes into making those windows sturdy enough to withstand the stresses of flight and besides providing a more expansive view such a video system could also utilize geo location and display augmented reality data about the landscape that the plane is flying over or passengers might be able to choose from other content a display movies, for example, or PowerPoint presentation. The aircraft's pilots would still have a conventional window in the cockpit along with some of that advanced video technology Katori says that spike airspace has several more years of engineering to complete on their aircraft. And then has to go through the testing and certification process. He envisions delivering the first jet without conventional passenger windows in twenty twenty-five initially only corporate executives and people wealthy enough to afford a private jet would be able to experience. Airspaces windowless flights. But you expects that the innovative technology eventually will find its way into regular airliners as well. Major pressure on Raptors going into playoffs

"If Easter right now, let's talk about which team is the best in the east or at least which team. Do we have Preston? Are you guys down for this? Yeah. Okay. Let's start might as well start with the raptors even though we're going to get to the bucks. I'm really excited what Maliki Andrews next segment, but let's start with Iraq is because they lost at the buzzer. And that one heart thanks to generally on the Hornets are they lost? But right now fifty one wins on the season for behind the bucks. It'll be hard to catch the butts, even though the bucks are dealing with injuries and stuff. Are you guys feeling trust in the raptors especially coming this postseason because I think this postseason really matters. Everyone looks like as great as you guys are your regular season team when it comes to the postseason things really changed. And I think that's why messiah Jerry really made that difficult but necessary trade to get quite Leonard this year. I have a little bit more than the raptors are you on the same boat, buddy? I I predicted them to get to the NBA finals on the season started. I do have concerns that when I'm not talking about the first round I'm talking when we get to the second round after playing team like Philadelphia that it's going to get heavy dominated eyeso- bought the end of these games. And I think we see it during the year with. Colli asking him to be the closer at the end of these games. And there's been some good results. And there's not been not so good result. So yeah, I have concerns. I have concerns that cholera. It'd be a hundred percent when we get into playoffs here. He's certainly Nick up right now. I concern is that you have a rookie coach, Nick nurse. Who's never it's different. When you move one over. I mean, it really is. Now, he's the head coach and when you get into a seven game series. So yeah, I have I would say I have I have concerns for Toronto kind of where they are right now fifty one in twenty three. Yeah. And you also if you look at it. There's a lot of pressure. I feel like with this Toronto team for what they failed to do if they put on a good show during the regular season. And we know what the postseason has been of this franchise. But I think when you move a piece as popular in Toronto's demar rose and arguably more popular than Vince Carter was in his prime there for the length of time that he was there you could argue that's how big of an impact that this guy had in Toronto. And when you make that change of bringing quiet, Leonard. And then you when you make other changes like valid Shuna. So you bring in a guy like Marcus soul, who's a guy coming off the bench at this point right now, and providing that power and being that guy, I think when you made the moves the Toronto has made the pressure is on this team. I don't think it's as much about a one seater or not having a one c because as you look at previous champions at one seed is is not been in front of those teams names have won the title. But when you look at this Toronto team, they need to be healthy. These two stores have not played. Enough basketball as Toronto would've liked together this season as you look at as you look at Leonard in Lowery and for this team to find that groove and get going down the stretch. I don't think there's a team. I'm curious. What you guys think that has more pressure on them? You could maybe argue Golden State but outside of that. I think it's Toronto with the second most pressure in the NBA going into this this postseason. Yeah. I have to agree with you, Jordan. I do think that's Rhonda has a lot of pressure largely because of how they've exited at the hands of LeBron James or just being swept when they've had. I think NBA lead leading wins. Right. So there's a lot of pressure on

NBA is Taking A Stance Against Mental Health Stigma

"Turn our attention back to Jackie McMullan's five part series or mental health in the NBA in the final foam ejaculates the future mental health and efforts league is making racist stigma associated with seeking help. One part is particular struck me guys when Jackie writes about how players will open a helping other players, but here's who won't be the former all-star, whose mental health struggles remain unchecked and untreated his agent frets about his client has begged him to get help. But the player declines saying he can't bring himself to see himself as a bone person agent explains because it doesn't match up with the invincibility of the player that he wants was I don't care who it is, but just in general, that feeling of generation of guys that still aren't opening Danilo Ellie. What do you? How do you have to this is an especially to have battled for all professional athletes because. There is this mythology we build around and we do look at them as invincible invincible, and it's people who don't have own abilities. And so a lot of times they're playing to a persona and they're afraid to seek help, which puts them in a particularly grueling kind of prison. And then if you add on top of that, if they're man of color, because in this -ociety especially being a black man in particular, there's no safe-space. There's no way you can be vulnerable without facing some level of scrutiny or attack. And so you add all those factors and it just is really heartbreaking to see. That's why I'm so glad that so many players are now openly voicing the fact that they struggle with certain things. People in this country feel like if you have money, if you have fame, you have everything figured out. And a lot of times those things bring on more problems and more trauma and more tragedy than most people can possibly fathom or deal with.

"He puts people in the seats. Michael, it happens all the time that players walked for nothing. Will it just. Cleveland, what did they get in for LeBron sign and with the Lakers he was kind of different because you really couldn't trade him because anybody was gonna trade for knew he was gonna beat up a couple of months, right. Well, CLYDE just got traded. He's only got one year latte. I was crazy. Basically, Toronto is going to be back to square zero after he leaves next summer. Well, if he needs and if you don't know you, you don't think I like Toronto. You don't like Toronto, ten degrees. Note that's minus ten degrees. I go to university of Minnesota. Remember we went to SoHo restaurant is we're on how cold it was. Couldn't wait to jump those ten feet from the cabinet and a cabinet occur. Exactly. But Michael, I think Toronto could win east next year. Don't you crazy. Okay. So thinking about you on meds again, they went fifty nine games last, so all right. They gave up tomorrow to Rosen and got collide Leonard, didn't they get better though? Oh, it's basically a wash. You would you would say demar derozan and inchoate Leonard or why you know why? Because Toronto has some kind of mental block when it gets deep in the playoffs. They just frees up plus Boston's gonna Boston's the team to beat the next. They're not come. Nobody's going to be Boston for the next five years that keep the group together and agree on his bed in Toronto, Toronto, no filters. Which roster would you rather have right now? So I got let me think I got quite is thinking about it. You got co, I and I'm not what else are happy. Sorry, I have Eunice. All right. I have a Bacha whoop de freaking do I still have a Bacha. Right? Are you still there as their onset. Oh, come on. You know, all those names. You mentioned just give me Simmons and Embiid and I'm ahead of you. I see. I think everybody's the east is wide open now for one main LeBron's not there. Trauma just can't get by LeBron. Let me put it to you right now. You heard it right here. First, whoever's coming out of the west where there's the Lakers auto, Boston's get ready to.

Kyle Lowry does not comment on DeMar DeRozan trade by Toronto Raptors

"Town or sitting on your couch, swiping left and right on your tender, looking for someone to Netflix and chill. We like to play a little, not necessarily. We're gonna start with Kyle Lowry who is out in Vegas for USA basketball, and we haven't really heard much from Kyle about everything that's gone down with the raptors about his buddy Dhamar to and getting traded about the arrival of quite Leonard. Danny green. And there was an interesting exchange today. Here's sports nets, Tim, and sid asking him about qui- the reporter. Do you have a relationship with Kawhi Lowery. No, I know him. We have mutual respect reporter. Have you spoken to him since the deal Lowery? Probably, yeah, I think so. I don't know reporter to Kawai Lowry. I dunno reporter you don't know if you've spoken to by Lowry. No reporter. What do you mean Lowry? I don't know if I've spoken to him reporter. Are you not sure? Do you not remember. Lowery. I'm not sure he's not here. So I, I haven't spoken to him reporter on the phone. I mean, Lowry. I haven't spoken to him. No reporter iovine spoken to him Lowry. No. And then later what he was asked, if people might read into his silence and assume he's not happy about the trade he was asked, that'd be an accurate assessment. He said USA basketball has been fun. Good one. So Nick, I ask you, are you okay with Kyle Lowry's weird responses. This one is very easy for me. I says, I'll will. Lowrey lost his best friend in in this deal. He didn't. It didn't die, but somebody lost his bed in in really quickly for context. I did a whole story on this at the beginning here, Lowry into Rosen, took Uber's back and forth from shootarounds that the raptors had on the road. Just those two always. They were always together on the road hanging out their family's very close. I am sure this whole trade has crushed, Kyle Lowry in the moment. Can the raptors be better? Certainly, but I have no issue with him wanting no part in in discussing this calories. Always very good with the media. He's a personable guy, but he does not want to get into losing his best friend from a professional standpoint in dealing with lettered who doesn't sound like many people are close to on either one of his new team, the raptors or his old team, the Spurs. I'm gonna have to agree with you and one up unit because I'm going to. Yeah, man. It's just too soon for people to keep asking everyone to move on. Oh, Dhamar just be ready to move onto his new team. Yeah, he will be given the minute. He dedicated everything to this team. He thought he was going to be there forever. Yeah, it's a business but give them some time and same with Lowry. I mean, if you want to try to figure out what his silence means, he's not being that silent. Check his Instagram as he's posting videos with his buddy to Marta, Rosen is reunited at USA basketball, then pulling up to mini camp together that he's telling us all we need to know. And I liked the loyalty and listen. They're going to be enemies when they hit the court come time for for the season to start. I'm sure he's going to be a good dude to collide, and he's going to try to make a relationship there, but you need time. So I do not blame him one bit moving on according to the eater website, there will be a new food show featuring Gordon Ramsay and of. With the departure of Anthony bourdain. We're all looking for something to fill that hole of other cultures and other other places, other foods and other other communities. And well, Gordon Ramsay is here to fill that hole except unfortunately, instead of doing the things that Anthony bourdain did to connect everybody around the world and to pay on edge to the cultures and the foods of other places and help us to get to know those people and those foods better Gordon Ramsay uncharted which is set to be on the National Geographic channel next year is going to have him take in the traditional food ways attempt to go about discovering the undiscovered and finally engage in a kitchen competition against the locals pitting his own interpretations of regional dishes against the tried and true classics. So he's set to walk up to someone's a boiler and tell her, no, I can do this better..

"Anyways, getting back to this year's talent pool, Brandon asks, who is going to have the better year next season, Blake Griffin or demar Rosen, and you know what Ben in honor of the extension that he signed with Cleveland this afternoon. I want to add Kevin love to that mix as well. So let's make the question who is going to have the better year, Blake demar or Kevin love in Cleveland. What do you think this is just such a bleak question. You know. Take the city's. Imagine you're like a big time all star level player. Like, where do you wanna live in joy your career, Cleveland, Detroit, or Saito? It's like, perfect. Okay. Well, how do I do the process of elimination to arrive at the one I believe is going to be in the least painful. I think the safest money right now would be on demar. I think his in terms of health, I think he's got the fewest red flags. I think obviously, Blake, Griffin's got a long history of of medical issues, but I think Kevin love like in the immediate aftermath of that contract today. I didn't think nearly enough people were talking about his list of health issues that he said to commit that much money for multiple years to him giving those issues would would have made me think twice three times four times hang up the phone five times. So I think damore is probably set up the best for success, but still, I don't love the fitted there in San Antonio. I think they're going to be working through a lot ofensive Lii and then I was reading a piece. I believe by James, Herbert at CBS sports dot com, which made a great point about the Spurs. They've lost a lot of perimeter defense between Danny green, and then also you could throw in Kyle Anderson as well. And Dhamar is just not that guy on the wing. So I think you know. Their vaunted sort of league-leading defense status had here in recent years is definitely going to be put to the test next season. So I don't love any of these situations, but I think that San Antonio will have the most wins of those three teams. I think demar has the least health risk. I think pop will be creative and utilize him and understand what he can and can't do and coaxing him towards more efficient play. So I'm talking myself into mar even though that's very, very painful. Yeah, it kind of depends on how you define success. Right? Because better year statistically, I think I would go with Blake having a better year statistically, he'll probably make an all star game. Demar derozan won't. And that's one thing that we didn't totally explain on the on the Kawai emergency podcast, but like damore to make the all star game as a guard in the west, you basically have to be like all NBA caliber. I mean, even Chris, Paul didn't make the all star game last. Season and it's just going to be really tough for demar. I think that he's going to win some somewhere between forty seven and fifty two games. So like if that's how you define success and contentment than maybe damore will win this battle. The love thing is really interesting though. I had the exact same reaction in part because once I saw that he resigned and he's really gonna stay in Cleveland. I started a think about him and the fantasy numbers that he's going to be putting up next season. I mean, like the obvious takeaway is to say, all right, so love is going to stay there. Put up twenty five and fifteen for the next eight months. He's probably gonna win thirty five games, but he'll be happy. He'll be getting his numbers. But then I did start to wonder like we haven't seen Kevin love, put together, many extended stretches of health since he's been in Cleveland and like I think that should be a real concern for the Cavs. And I also wonder whether the Cavs did this with the intent of trying to trade him next summer which you know that's much harder to read and it's pure speculation on our part, but like I think that's the one that's one way you can read this and say that it was a smart move is say, look, we've got Kevin love locked up, and as teams go into next summer, looking for stars and then strike out love will actually be a pretty attractive trait asset. Yes. So real quick I on Blake..

On Wednesday Yeah this move. Has been dissected about every which way at this point it's a it's, a futures playing it's one that's ripe with risk for the Toronto Raptors because we all know that Kawhi. Leonard has been as transparent let's put it. This way as open his Co. why Leonard. Can be which means, we've heard it through back channels and sources that he really wants to be in Los Angeles that's where he wanted to be traded to that's where he wants. To be next year so in that time can Toronto accomplish enough with, him and potentially convinced him to stay to. Make dealing demar derozan a guy that had been such a fixture in that franchise worthwhile the. Interesting part of what you just said is people speaking for like we hear all of these things about Hawaii I. Will continue to die in the hill of if. Kawhi would just come out and speak how much would just stop how much of. This conversation would stop. In for once we would actually hear from himself we haven't heard, from him forever in this process it is, so funny because is a guy we have said all along his motivations we don't really understand we've always thought, we know it reminded me because This is the. Ten th anniversary of the dark the middle, the middle movie in the Batman trilogy from Christopher Nolan, and when, Alfred. Talking, to Christian bale and they're talking about the joker and he said and this, is in reference to. What LeBron James did to the raptors you push them to the limit and so in response they turn to a. Man they don't fully understand that is Leonard that is the man that, they don't fully understand but now because of LeBron James the raptors fired their head coach and they brought. On a guy and a one year loan. Or to try and see if they can. Shake things up enough, to make an impact a guy that teammates have said or the team has said an insiders said is difficult to get to know so it's gonna be interesting. To see how coli and the raptors forge a relationship we'll ask you, if you're wearing the Cape and you have. The logo on your chest and you jump off a building and you beat somebody up why, at the end of it you have to look at them and identify that you're Batman I mean you've got capon. You've got a mask on you've got a logo. You just beat up a bad guy if you still have to identify your Batman. You have a branding. "The warriors stolen road win against the rockets in game one on monday houston will look denounce back tonight before heading to golden state see you in or out on the rockets time this series tonight against the warriors stay they get both wins in houston though the better basketball team they don't have an answer for kevin durant warriors get to win tonight i'm in that might be more heart than head but if the warriors win the nba season in tonight and i don't want the nba name tonight so i'm in that may i did not there's go ahead i hope it's your heart because whatever happens if they end up going down to in cleveland been down to i'm going to punch you in your heart your thoughts your heart your hit head on pushing the nba season please please houston to marta rose than has spent a nightline higher night year nine year career with the raptors but his time in toronto might be up the rosen was reportedly shopped last off season could be dealt this off season so nick you in or out on the raptors trading rose in this season even though they already fired twain game i don't know that they will but i believe they should so i'm in on it i think eighties hard to impossible to win a championship when your best players are guards unless one of them's an mvp neither one of these guys in mvp and you saw the best version of the raptors you could get last year and being swept by mediocre cavs team so i am in that they should be trading the mortar rosen demars the better player better than cal lowery and he's embraced the culture being in toronto very few superstars wanna go toronto in stay there i know that my brother was the coach there they got tracy mcgrady they have vince carter neither one those players one to stay here so you have to realize what's to culture you're in a different country what are the superstar.

"And forty second nba coaching change since gregg popovich began as coach coaching san antonio this is a league that makes a lot of changes and there are very very few franchises that have found stability that's part of the game and i think dwayne casey did a great job this year throughout the regular season but the way he lost again to the cavs cost him his job in what universe does this starting five beat lebron any four guys kyle lowry fred benfleet demar derozan ojea nobody and yoenis balance shooters in what universe does that starting five beat lebron james and any other four guys in the nba in a universe where that team was taking the seven games by the pacers and they were one of the worst defensive teams in the league during the regular season and had to split their team and really start fresh midseason now i'm not saying you beat lebron james but i am saying you've got to make your best effort and i think obviously dwayne casey hasn't been able to get that done and you have to all star so i think if you're toronto and and you're looking at a team that was viewed by many jeff at the deepest team in the league throughout the regular season if you're toronto you get swept to kim by that lebron lebron this year let's be honest he's playing with kevin love tito jermaine and randy right and latoya might be on that team what he's not playing with this all star team that he had before so this i don't like the toronto raptors they were great regular season team start when the postseason started i said they'll be lucky to win their first round series i don't think it's that i don't personally believe look kyle lowry and and the murderers are really good players.

"A great it really depends on the temperament of the star gregg popovich couldn't yell at tim duncan there other players superstars that wouldn't have taken it i generally agree with charles that you do have to have a good relationship which best player and i've had coaches tell me they would go up to their best player before practice i'm gonna go off when you today it ain't nothing but i'm gonna go off on your day just for the other guy person you know yeah so the other guys see you yelling at the best player and then they get in line but in this case look dwayne casey did nothing wrong with demar rosen the marta rosa had eight points a negative twenty three plus minus and the bench players rallied them and then on tuesday after they lost game four were swept demar derozan saying i have nothing but respect for doing casey and all of my success i give to him so charles was wrong initially in there's nothing to repair those two were fine i think they both made valid points you know you're talking about choke and shock but at the same time you gotta understand you need somebody at the him to protect you from yourself sometime and i think coach casey did excellent job protecting demar from himself he was he wasn't playing up to par you know and he was out there embarrassing himself and taking the hit and he wasn't take a turn of criticism he'll put that on his self by pulling him so now he's faced with the real questions and then he can pivot that to the coach not to the player so i think that he was a shield for demar situation i wanna i wanna go back to gin on your whole you got a baby stars bill bill checks your favorite coach tom brady can't stand him right now tom brady's i don't know if i'm appreciated or not bill bill check aim baby in his star popovich apologize essentially to lamarcus.
