"A fight at the great Frederick fair Saturday night. According to the Frederick county sheriff's office, deputies observed a large group of juveniles form inside one of the traffic Gates. The group was moved outside the gate by deputies and fair security, and that's when a fight broke out. Police say a boy was taken to the Frederick county law enforcement center and later released to a guardian, his charge will include second degree assault. Shortly after that incident, another crowd began to form and police say a girl from the crowd hit a deputy in the chest. The girl was taken into custody, her charges will also include second degree assault and resisting an interfering with an arrest via a juvenile reference. She was also released to her guardian, both have been banned from the Frederick fairgrounds. "Than they have been in more than two decades that's according to a new survey conducted nearly three months after the school shooting in uvalde, Texas, which claimed the lives of 19 children and two adults. CBS Michael George reports. A new Gallup poll finds 44% of parents with a child in kindergarten through 12th grade share that sentiment and fear for their oldest child's physical safety at school, one in 5 also reported their child as expressed concerns about feeling unsafe. It's a really high point that we haven't seen in quite some time. Gallup editor in chief Muhammad yunus says it's a sign recent U.S. mass shootings, including the rob elementary school massacre in Yuval, Texas, are taking an emotional toll on parents and their kids. More than two dozen prince George's county public schools are now hosting what are called comfort closets, their little rooms that can serve as a big need for teachers, students or their families. It's another idea born about by the pandemic. We realize how our school is just a safe space. Last year, it was free meals.
