In dry California, salty water creeps into key waterways

"In dry California salty water is creeping into key waterways I'm Lisa dwyer with the latest The Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers are central arms of California's water system but they are becoming too salty for use for farmers and cities as the state's punishing drought drags on Farmer Bobby Costas cucumber crop is being affected by saltwater intrusion Well the water's been getting progressively worse and worse with salt I mean every year it's becoming more of a challenge this year in particular with our cucumbers We're having 14% 16% crooked cucumbers and a lot of that's attributable with salt And dry times less fresh water flows from the mountains through California's rivers and into an estuary known as the delta Planners are trying a desalination plant and artificial rock barrier and groundwater pumps to try to solve the problem I'm Lisa dwyer

Moving From Action to Administration With LTG Jerry Boykin

"You as a man of action. I mean, you're just a gregarious guy. You love big, you talk, you're there. You want to be an action. That's what about you the force to start with. When you started moving toward the more administrative roles, how did that for someone like you how did that make was that different? Was that almost a more difficult challenge? Oh, yeah. I mean, it always is, especially when you're sent from being on the front lines with the Delta force up to The Pentagon. You know, that's like being thrown off to San Francisco bridge or something. But you know what, what was good about that was, I. Actually was only only the staff therefore a little while, and I got sent over to the CIA. So I spent a couple of years at CIA running covert actions there to CIA. And so it kind of put me back in the fight, so to speak, and that was a great assignment. And I got to tell you, don't ever say anything bad about CIA around me, because they are, they have some of the finest professionals in the government. And then when I came back for my second tour at The Pentagon, I wound up going over to the Balkans running a task force there to capture war criminals, remember after the Dayton accords, there had been an agreement that all of the war and factions would turn in the people that were identified as war criminals, but they didn't do it. So I was running a task force out of Sarajevo that was capturing war criminals and that was that was a great assignment. I mean, I really enjoyed that. And then I left that job after about a year and came back to take over all the green berets, but I got to tell you, I just kept getting put back into those positions where I could feel like I was still part of the game.

A Discussion With LTG Jerry Boykin on Iran and Mogadishu

"Sort of tie two events together and you sort of you highlight in one of the first real big, I guess delta mission that we could discuss and she brought up was this issue in Iran during that time. It didn't end like everybody thought it would. In fact, it ended up in a very much a missed failure is the mission goes, but we grew out of that. Taking a step further to what you just said about Mogadishu, which was about 12 to 13 years apart. What was going on? I mean, how did you overcome what happened in Iran in the first take of really what was looking at. And then how it progressed to what you saw happening in Mogadishu. Yeah, that's an interesting question because I will tell you that when I came out of Iran, I was, I felt like I was carrying the weight of the world. You know, we had failed. We had failed. Our country, we had failed those 52 people that were held there as hostages and I got to tell you, we all, all of us, we carried a tremendous burden. But then we, several years later, we were able to look back and say, but what happened as a result of that? You know what happened as a result of that. Jimmy Carter was not reelected, and Ronald Reagan was, and Ronald Reagan began a ramp up of the military with increasing the budget giving them the priority and letting the commanders do their jobs, and had brought about a total modernization of our military.

Remember When Biden Said Vaccines Would Stop COVID Spread?

"Here's a short Montage put together by a French a town hall where Biden claimed the vaccines will stop the spread cut three go Because you can't build a wall high enough to keep out a vaccine the vaccine can stop the spread Of these diseases And so everybody talks about freedom and not to have a to have a shot or have a test Well guess what And so how about patriotism How about making sure that your vaccinated so you do not spread the disease to anybody else What about that What's the big deal We're not in a position where we think that any virus including the delta virus which is much more transmissible and more deadly in terms of unvaccinated people the various shots that people are getting now cover that You're okay You're not going to you're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations Continue to spread the diseases And so we should think of in a patriotic duty whether you're whether you're working in a supermarket to make sure you have been vaccinated so you're not spreading anything else or you're not likely to get the virus Now when Donald Trump got the virus it was a very very serious Indeed life threat We didn't have vaccines

"Have the founder. The medical doctor of the physician who was the founder of America's frontline doctors. It's where I sent you folks if you wanted to try to get Ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine and zinc. Both of which I took for about a year, I've had COVID twice. And I had the delta, which was supposedly and was serious in many cases, and I had the omicron, which is, in my case, it was a mild cold. I have enough antibodies to actually offer them as a gift to those who would like. She and I met at a rally for a freedom that you can't tell people. You will be fired from your job if you don't take a vaccine. That obviously doesn't work. I'd like you to hear doctor gold, I'd like you to hear what the president of the United States who now has COVID said a year ago. You're okay. You're not going to you're not going to get COVID if you haven't. These vaccinations. Yeah. So would you and I'm perfectly fine with whatever answer you have. Would you characterize that as a lie? 100% lie. We had Rachel wolinski, how did they see saying the same thing? But you couldn't get it. We had to sustain the same thing. They all said it. There was no way they didn't know why. I'm not a scientist, but I'm a bedside condition, so when you read the applications of the Pfizer Moderna applications in December of 2020, when they were authorized, they clearly stated they did not stop transmission all it did was reduce the severity of the symptoms, the problem with that is that it's the least able to cause a weekly vaccine in the middle of a respiratory pandemic. You will just encourage the creation of variants and that's exactly what we see

How Should We Approach Big Business? Newt Gingrich Explains

"I want to ask you, it's not just about government power, though, that gives people anxiety. It's also the amount of cultural and corporate power that the left has been able to assume. You talk about this in the book, but how are we to approach Google that could arguably be just as or even more powerful than parts of our government, or Disney that has control over our children's, what their consuming. Big government socialism is it also incorporate cultural and economic power? Yeah, it has to and also, let me take those two examples. We clearly are going to have to ultimately set some kind of rules of the road for these big Internet companies. I mean, we would not allow AT&T or Verizon to have the kind of control over our communication, our conversations, that these companies now exercise. In terms of Disney, I think somebody ought to be following a stockholder lawsuit. Yes. The Disney president made a decision, which has cost Disney and enormous amount of money in the collapse of a stock. And they ought to be held accountable for the when you start making on economic policies. You know, the same thing happened in Atlanta with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game where Coca-Cola and Delta two of the biggest corporations in Georgia, both of them acted against their own economic interest by siding on a totally false lie. Siding with the left and demanding that they All-Star Game being moved.

"New York Times. So 6 COVID wave hits many New Yorkers shrug it off. Of course they do. We were alarmed when it was alarming. When we were alarmed during the first wave and during delta, then we figured out that omicron is not is far more transmissible and not nearly as deadly. And we stop wearing masks, and many of us, and I still urge you to get vaccinated and boosted. And when they come out with a new booster, I'll go and get that because I don't want to get sick and lots of people have had COVID in my life in the last month. Half and they have a bad cold. So be .5, it's just diluted. It's down in its lethality. It's up in its transmissibility in New Yorkers are treating it like the flu. And like a cold. And no matter how many people yell at us to do something differently, we're not changing our mind. We know what it is.

Can You Trust Fox News and National Review?

"Hey there folks I continue my conversation with John as zamira Z M I are a kz. Please sure you have it right. John, you were just talking about something horrifying. Please continue. Talk about whether you can trust Fox News or national review or these other institutions that we used to wait a minute. And national review, they both gone squishy on the same exact issues. You can always count on them to be 10° over to the right from the radical left. So if the radical left wants prison camps to kill 10 million Americans, I think Fox News and national review will come out and say no, we should only be 5. They're running if the left is jumping off a cliff. NASA review on Fox News will be sliding off the cliff. The point is they don't make principle take principled stance. They don't help us stop moving in the wrong direction. They just don't want to slow it down and do it in a nice orderly way. The point I want to make about Fox News, well, there's a lot, but basically two days ago I was flying home from San Diego from actually from Los Angeles where I'd been speaking and at our gate at LAX airport, delta has a gigantic balloon rainbow. And when I mean gigantic, it was absolutely gigantic. And I thought to myself, this is where we are that you have Delta Air Lines, celebrating Pride Month. Now, why? Let's think about why are they doing this? Partially they're doing this at a pure fear. All they know is we don't want to get in trouble. We want to go with the flow. We want to go, and I say, in my upcoming book, a letter to the American church, I only mentioned it, but it has to be said, Germans in the 30s, when they put out the swastika, they didn't know what that would come to represent.

Georgia Voters Set Record Turnout Despite Libral Lies

"I am joined by Brian Kemp. He is governor of Georgia, just fresh off a crushing primary win two weeks ago when more than a 1 million 2 Georgians voted in the Republican primary governor Kemp one 70% plus. Meanwhile, over 1 million 200,000 Republicans voted, meanwhile, in the democratic side, Stacey Abrams ran on a pose and got 700,000 votes, maybe 7 27 looks good for the fall but governor Kemp takes nothing for granted. He joins me this morning. Good morning, governor. Congratulations. Hey, thanks. I would remind all your listeners out there. We had record turnout in voting in the Republican and the democratic primaries these and after Stacey Abrams and Joe Biden said our elections integrity act was going to suppress the vote over a year ago. I want to know if anyone from delta or Coke or Major League Baseball did the commissioner call up an apologize for moving the All-Star Game yet. No, I don't think we're getting the apologies, but we're not expecting those to just get to have the truth coming out and people writing about the turnout and I think it's great because my fellow George is out there know that their side has been lying about the bill and they're trying to hood weaken and I know what the truth is now and they know that Stacey Abrams pressured Major League Baseball and the players union to move the game and then she did in about face on that once you realize that wasn't a popular thing to do and that people actually support things like voter ID and increasing early voting opportunities on the weekend.

Charlie Breaks Down Unique Characteristics of the Georgia Electorate

"A fan of Brian Kemp, I've spoke about it openly and I believe that David perdue would be a great governor. Now, Donald Trump has endorsed David perdue as David perdue was mounting a primary challenge against Brian Kemp. But you must understand that the political landscape of Georgia is very much a good old boys network. It's a lot of local counties back slapping. Did you come to the local high school football game? Did you get good tickets at the university of Georgia football game? And I don't want to accuse Brian Kemp of anything illegal. That's not what I'm doing here, but it definitely is a patronage system in Georgia. Now, some states that really isn't the case. I can tell you right now, Arizona is not a good old boys network. There is that kind of McCain group in Arizona, but in Arizona, if you haven't lived here, if you just kind of moved here, you can, excuse me, you can kind of upstart and you can kind of run. Now you've got, of course, there's an establishment you have to navigate. But Georgia, it's a very much of a, who were you? Did you check the boxes? You know, were you able to take care of the right people? So Brian Kemp made a brilliant political move where he basically metaphorically neutered David perdue, where he put the more powerful Purdue, which was sunny perdue, I believe his name, which was, I think they're relatives on that mistake. I think their cousins and he appointed them to some sort of university board, which all but basically destroyed the fundraising ability of the entire Purdue network. So Kemp took care of a fellow Purdue in the family, which kind of, let's say, blunt was thwarted a lot of David perdue's ability to be able to continue to raise capital. Now, David perdue made a decision not to run for the United States Senate. That looks like it's going to be the great Herschel Walker. But Kemp worked the state, Kemp was able to maximize corporate donations. There's a lot of, there's a lot of powerful corporations in Georgia, CNN, obviously, is headquartered in Atlanta. I don't think they gave money to Purdue. Coca-Cola is headquartered in Atlanta, at least they said they hated Brian Kemp, Home Depot, was headquartered for quite a while in Atlanta, Delta Air Lines for a while was headquartered in Atlanta. There's a lot of there's a lot of companies that have a significant presence in the state of Georgia. It's a, it's always kind of prided itself on being a quote unquote, pro business state. To a fault, by the way, where Georgia invited Hollywood liberals for years via this phony and crony tax credit system where you bring in the Will Ferrell's and the Kevin Hart's of the world where they become like pseudo citizens of Georgia and they overly finance these elections. One of the many reasons why Georgia has become a battleground state which never should have become a battleground state. But

So they're a little more prominent, a little more visible. I like that the the Delta symbol is more of a gray or a silver then gold and I just like the coloring is a little different from the T and G era and I I really liked those for the short time we saw them in Star Trek Picard and that is one of them that I do have heather. So, one of the things I wanNA point out like especially since we're talking about uniforms that I love that done with particularly discovery and the uniforms on the enterprise is that instead of having pips, they've translated that into their uniform. So like their rank can be shown by lake with the discovery uniform, it's kind of like the amount of stripes on their shoulders. As. Well, as the like I, think it has to do with There Delta Badge to. But then also in lake enterprise uniform is like their rank is done by like the stripes on the sleeves and. That is one hundred percent from the navy. That is one hundred percent legit nautical uniforms with. On the on the sleeves. and. Something that. Really, makes each individual uniform stand out instead of just a general. And adding pips to it like it each uniform. Stands out depending on the character and their rank and everything like that and I think that's really cool and funny side note to that is that. I..

"Irish holograms Tom Paris and Harry Kim play Captain Photon. And Toco Tei he has a boxing. Training. program. Because that's what he likes to do. So for this episode Voyager ended up in a part of the Delta quadrant where they ended up in chaotic space. and was destroying them and destroying the ship and it was up Takata through the holographic boxing program to fight and communicate sort of with his opponent which was kid chaos who was supposed to be the representative of the aliens they encountered in chaotic space. Now I really enjoyed this episode one because I love to Khotan episodes, I think event, and for most of the Voyager I've said this I've always really liked the entire voyager cast and that includes Takata in I've always enjoyed. His episodes are also thought this episode had a really unique. Eerie. Almost suspense thriller atmosphere to it. That was really really cool. But apparently unbeknownst to me this is like one of the most unpopular star trek episodes heather. I had no idea 'cause I I remember really liking this episode back in the day and watching it recently I really liked it so I don't know. So I wanted to ask the question to you and you wrote something here in the show notes. What are some of the supposed? Episodes of star, Trek you enjoy. Well, you know I think my friend, Jim who runs the trek ranks podcast likes to call them guilty pleasures because he takes the stance that there's no unpopular episode of Star Trek everybody can find something they love in any episode of Star Trek and it doesn't really matter. What other people think? So I've had the opportunity to talk about. My guilty pleasure episodes from voyager and enterprise on his show before So when you pose this question to me, there was one in particular that jumped out in my head which I know pretty much is universally UNIN -joyed by a lot of the Star Trek Universe that I've never had an opportunity to talk about before, and that is the t os episode, which happens to be the series finale. "They. Do have the prime directive How do you think they handled it? Voyager handle in comparison to the crew of the enterprise Do you think that they were better or worse? How do you would you compare them? And then I'm GONNA. Go back to something that you mentioned because I would love your your thoughts on the comparisons between these two. They were both on the far reaches of the unknown. So I think there's two answers to that question depending on how you look at it, but before I jump into the answers to the question. It just wanted to say that I I didn't have much experience with wager before I went into it, and so all I had really known about. It was stuff that I had heard around the Phantom. and. There was a lot of this sort of received wisdom about what's great, and what's not, and I found most of that completely irrelevant in my viewing experience I came to really enjoy wager, and loved a lot of the episodes and I. Even love the Wada. Things that I was told I wasn't supposed to love like I thought the character of kiss was great I thought that. With Doctor You Yes she she was just wonderful with the doctor and every scene between them was really just quite glorious a Neil. I founded the white enter a revelation, and I have no tolerance whatsoever for the helix. Haters out there I i. don't know what they're about. I think I. Think everybody should be so lucky to have a friend like. he's, he's just great, so, but I will say that one of the things about wager that I think frustrated ron more when he started working on the show. In one of the reasons that eventually left was because they made it story decision to not take their own premise too seriously. And so the the story that's told is that when they first started breaking episodes like Ron Moore was like okay. We need to keep track of how many photon torpedo and how many shuttle craft and how much food? They haven't then the the the power of like. We're not doing that. And so then you end up with these situations where there's like. Don torpedoes and infinite shuttle craft, and an infinite amounts of everything in the ship is restored new after getting beat the heck when we get to the next and it's they chose to do that because they just didn't want to be constrained by these things, and so what that led to that you see so many episodes where Jane would say something like we're going to hold true to our starfleet values, and that's GonNa. Get through this and the very next episode. She's like where the Delta quadrant. The normal rules don't apply you like you can't have it both ways. So it really was whatever the beads of the moment were is what they did, and they really chose to sort of sublimate a lot of that a lot of that. Quote Unquote. Hanan stuff. To to the story, they wanted to make it of an episodic show. Rather than try to service the ongoing art of you know how many photon torpedo is, aren't so that was just a choice that they made, and you can like it or not like it. I i. personally wish they had paid more attention to that, but I really enjoyed voyager for it. I think though that in the case of enterprise. You're dealing with a show where they don't have any of that stuff. Even at that level, they really are figuring things out as they're going along. And I think it's just I think it's just really wonderful. The the VULCANS are a little much early on and I apologize say calm down a little bit later, but the amount of to Paul snark ARY. Off The chart early on it's, it's really quite astonishing. I look forward to a little bit more calmer relations on board the annex at one in the coming seasons. Now speaking of relations. You mentioned earlier that Star Trek, enterprise was a show. That showed a little bit more skin that has been shown in star. Trek in previous incarnations of this has caused a lot of discussion and consternation amongst trekkies. I, personally really didn't notice this in the first airing of the show. I really didn't pick up on until. Seeing people mentioned it and re watching it again on net flicks. Heather. I'll ask you. Did you notice this? Did you pick up on this? Because? I kind of really didn't until we saw the relationship between to Paul and trip Tucker! Yeah I, it is something. I and it's not necessarily just the amount of skin that showed on enterprise, but it's really how. Her, especially how they approach their their women, characters There are a lot more. Either sexualize like to. Paul was or downplayed in the case of Hoshi. And there it's one of the things that really disappoints me about the show, because especially in its air date order coming after a series like voyager where you have a woman captain woman engineer. A woman asked Estra metrics officer. You know you have smart intelligent woman who are vital characters on the show, and then you go to enterprise where you have the token Volkan. WHO's over overly sexualize catsuits again? and really gets taught down a lot especially for being Volkan. Comparison to the rest of the humans, because the Vulcan human relationship, and then you have the other main female character on the show. Is. Really displayed at least in the first couple of seasons as very fearful and timid. It. It's really disappointing to me. so it's not just a lot of the the sexuality show, but it's almost like they went backward in how they dealt. especially with their women, characters and I don't know if it's something like they decided. It's a pretty cool, so it was okay to do that because. That's how women retreated in Teo s and this. Technically in the time line comes before T O S I don't still in the future. It is still. I I don't know if that was like. Berman and Braga's thought process when they went into designing show like that. I honestly don't know. I'm not sure if I really WANNA, know I not saying I don't like the show. I really do like enterprise. I love the fact that it's Prequel. I think it brings a lot to the star. Trek Universe to see this crew and how they dealt. With Mainly humans going out into galaxies for the first time. I think that's A..

"Bit of Tardy Gray. Is really a testament to how well written and how deep character he is, and I see season three. And I remember if you remember in the little teasers and trailers your remember that the the flag of the United Federation, of Planets. In the distant future. Doesn't have as many stars as it used to. And we've been given the idea that the federation is not as big as it once was imp distant future. I think that. All stem it's and his scientific knowledge of the sport drive, and all of this tar degrade DNA everything he's done with the my Celia Network. I, think he. Is going to play a major major major role in the return of the Federation as a major power in the future. I think he's going to do something whether it's the spore drive whether it's the my Celia network or some future scientific discovery that we haven't even figured out yet. He is going to do something really really big in season three. That is really going to make the federation a power in the galaxy again because I think he's the guy to do it. Yet Michael Burnham's The star, but more often than not. She's off doing her own and finding something out for herself. and. I think that it's pulse damage. That will be the guy that will do something really big in season three. And, he'll yell at Tilly. Tillie can be annoying. But Yeah I think that one he is going to do something really really big in season three, and yes, we did see the barrier gaze trope in the first season, but I'm fairly confident going forward with Star Trek Discovery. Dr Kohler Huber and standards will be just fine I. Think they're going to be okay. I truly believe that. As you said Heather loves love. And when you look at those two and what they've been through they have been through sickness and health, and they even went through till death. Do US part, and they're still together so I think culprits. Damn, it's going to be okay. I believe that. Well as Wilson cruised loves to say gay love saved the universe, so their love is going to be okay and measure. There's the episode title. Let me write that down. Love Mushrooms Safety. That's that. Is The show title Happy Pride Month? But. Yeah, those are our predictions for Paul. Standards Oh. Let's just say it now, heather. What should we do for next episode? Which one? which character from discovery should do? Burnham. We've done Seru now. We've done pulse NAM. I'm leaning towards George Oh. If you're okay with that. Yeah I'm okay with that. All right next week it will be. Michelle Ios, Emperor Philip Georgia and Some predictions for her on the next episode now with upcoming business. This is the part where we talk about stuff that maybe a little bit further down the line. In the Star Trek right now. Star Trek. Season one is in the CAN, but there was a much talked about moment in the season one finale. In the last seed of Star Trek Card, where we saw seven of nine Jeri Ryan and Roffe. Played, by the Amazing Michelle Hurd holding hands at a table. And look like they were playing a game or something holding hands, and this caused a lot of discussion. And Jerry Ryan recently confirmed on twitter. That seven of nine is bisexual. and this guy, a lot of people talking about what the future might hold for seven of nine and Roffe. heather. How did you feel one about seeing that scene in Picard? To Jerry Ryan, confirming the seven of nine is bisexual and three. What what do you see for the two of them going forward? I I. Loved that scene I and I mean it's just such a tiny little thing, but it's something that I picked out right away when I was watching that episode number like Oh, my gosh. It's amazing. It, it's really seven. Being an Jerry, confirming that seven is bisexual. It makes me feel so good inside to be honest, and I am been a big supporter of the fact that seven being bisexual card is natural. It's not something that came out of nowhere. It it's something that seven as a character, when on her own identity journey, which we didn't see because there have been twenty plus years since we lost Saul her on Voyager, and when we first met seven, she was disconnected from the Board for the very first time. Since before she was a little child, so she never had the opportunity to go on her own relationship, journey and understand. What she would sort of identity she was and she she was finding her own identity, and yes, in voyager we saw her. have relationships with men. We saw her go on dates with other men We saw her in a relationship with TOCO TO A. But that doesn't mean. That she can't love women as well. Because when you look at it as she never got to go through the pubescent experience of. Being a teenager or high schooler and Just having all those hormones and not knowing which way they go from here or there. So she doing this as an adult. And yes, when we first meet her is. She has relationships with men, but somewhere between where we left her on Voyager, and where we meet her on Picard, she has gone on this identity journey, and she realizes that she loves women just as much as she can love men. And I, it it. It's not something that comes out of nowhere because it's a journey that a lot of bisexual. have. BEEN, on! So. It's something that we can relate to. And when people online, who is the third going? Why didn't they mentioned Kota and she always liked men. Why does she just like women now? Hold on, don't have to. Question, did you actually see that out there? Yeah Yeah I mean I. I've really got into it with a few people who were very adamant. Because? Takata wasn't brought up at all in picard that seven's identity as bisexual, and Picard is invalid in. It's not the same character that they knew. And it's. It was really hurtful to me. To See people say that, because even when I'm trying to talk to them as a bisexual woman as someone who has been on that journey, who has only dated then I've never dated a woman, but that doesn't make me any less bisexual because I can tell you right now I. Find Women Attractive I've just never been on a date with one. And it it's it's hurtful to see people who. Just clean that that that's not a thing. Is like they're looking at your own identity and going here in Hunt Valley because you can sit there and say you like women, but you've never been on a date with a woman. and. Seven, only been in relationships with man, so her going on a date with a woman isn't valid right now because I. don't believe it. It, it's I. saw many comments like that and. It it. It really struck a chord with me. Because I related to seven journey. and to see people invalidating. Her character's journey just because they couldn't relate to it. Is Part of the issue when we talk about. Queer representation, and that's what I. That's what my start swearing at people. For the new listeners, since this is the that new wage of Star Trek I'm the one that's not afraid to swear, so yeah, the the idea that this was happening, I it really is. Antithetical. To, what Star Trek has shown us for years and years and years It reminds me of the episode of the next generation where vader the enterprise a met the aliens that were genderless, and we'll writer Had something with one of them where he he was attracted to this alien, but also at the same time realized it was genderless, and it wasn't exactly on the. At the time, the gender binary that we know and he was open about okay I might mess this up a little bit, but it doesn't make you any less valid but i. want you to know that I'm trying. And it's kind of strange to me. That, this would cause that kind of reaction within star Trek fans, because it's always been about the things that we may not necessarily understand and trying to understand them better. Jerry Ryan confirming that seven of nine is bisexual was. Good enough for me Yeah! We saw her relationship with Chico Tei on Boyer. Who's to say that. Liking women is something that any of us that. Have that certain preference wouldn't change in twenty years. WHO's to say? And I really don't understand why. Someone would have a problem with that it's..

"Heather I think that given the deck symbian given every. I feel like there's a ton we could explore with essary. How did you feel about her? I definitely feel like there was a lot to explore with Ezra and like I said I I really enjoyed her as a character a lot more than Because one of the things she really struggled with without Blake you saw, and I talked about earlier about how jet Zia went through the training, and this was the identity that she chose for herself because she she wanted to be a joined trill as we didn't have that opportunity, she really got thrown into the situation where. Is She had to take the symbiosis in order to save its. otherwise DAX would have died an all of the memories of the Six hosts that came before her would have died along with him, so is she? Really got put between a rock and a hard place, and she ultimately saved. The symbiosis life by joining with, but then she goes through a process of really having to discover who she is now that she's a join trill rather than who she was beforehand. When she was enjoying and just a regular person. Working on being a counselor, On a starship, having no interest whatsoever in having a symbiotic with. Multitudes of other hosts memories inside of her. So that's one of the things including a former husband that was right there on the station. Definitely, so that's one of the things I really appreciate about as journey. Is that her? Her entire journey through season seven is kind of finding out who she is now. With as as redacted set, of Ezra, Teagan and like you see her go through the process of dealing with the different memories, and not knowing where they came from, and like them, putting these rectal Gino in front of her, her being like Oh this is disgusting. I don't like reacted Gino drinking it. Dealing with And feelings towards warf and realizing that ultimately, not her own. Feelings. That? They were coming from her former host and having to deal with that and and just sort of. Figuring out her own identity, and and that's. Like I talked about earlier when I started talking about Jesse the something. A lot of queer people go through is is finding their own identity. In the feelings that they have like I'm. Almost thirty three years old. And I didn't completely come out to myself. Really admit to myself that I was queer until I was thirty. So it. It's a journey that a lot of queer people can relate to that. They have all these feelings and they don't know what to do with them. And they have to figure out how that fits into them and their identity as a person, and as we really exemplifies that. and. We both agree that there's plenty of room to explore that beyond. Yes, nine a let's move into new business where we talk about things that are happening in be current star trek world whether it's Discovery Picard. Maybe even the J.J Abrams movies. We throw those in there, too, but right now we're gonNA talk about star. Trek, discovery, we're all. Excited for season three and on the podcast we've been doing sort of a character by character. Glimpse into what we think might happen for season. Three are our character predictions. Three Star Trek discovery in this episode coinciding with Pride Month theme is the guy that is a my favorite character in star trek discovery the scientist behind the spore drive Lieutenant Commander Pulse Damn it's. My favorite character in discovery, but heather I'm going to let you go first. We're talking about season three of discovery What are you seeing repulsed? Well standards is ironically also my favorite character in star trek discovery while. I I have never related to a character on such personal level as I have with. Stem it's there's so many different things about him that are. That I see in myself and. I want to see so much more One of the big things that I would love to see in season. Three is him. Dealing with his connection to the sport drive. And the my seal network and the abilities that having tar grade, DNA and himself gives him, and what makes him stand out from other people and how he can use them to help the ship in different situations, and you see 'em deal with that a lot in season one when he. Gets to the Mirror Universe and has to figure himself. Back out and he's. blacking out and seeing the two different universes. You don't really see a lot of that in season two. There's only one episode where his. Ability to. The different timelines Is used to help them. Get Out of that time. Vortex traps time bubble thing that Captain Pike. and. Ask Tyler were stuck in so I would love to see them for more of that side of stem. It's because I think that's an area where. He can excel. Just to. Really show off not just to his scientific stuff, but but show off the different abilities that he has as a person now because he possesses tar degrade DNA. Other than that I. Think Him and colder it deserves. A nice loving happy relationship. But I, wish that for everyone on discovery and have a quite happened yet. We're GONNA get there eventually. Just want them all to be happy. but yeah, the that's my I wouldn't necessarily call it a pre predictions because i. Not Quite sure where where they're headed with him in season three, but that's what I would love to see. I definitely have an idea. I think I really do. And I'm to really deep dive here because. As I've said pulse damage is my favorite character in discovery I think his personality is one that I really really connect with his story arc over just the two seasons of discovery is absolutely phenomenal. I think he's had more depth and and. Character growth in events happen to him in two seasons of Star Trek discovery the I think I've seen for maybe any star trek character. He's been through a lot in two seasons and come out of it. In one piece with a little bit of Tardy Gray. Is really a testament to how well written and how deep character he is, and I see season three..

"They're just incredible. I I mean the the show took off when it came to their character development and the the stories that they came and just like dealing with the board to because I want to go back to what you mentioned because there are a lot of people who like to argue that voyager made the Borg. Look Week oh I completely disagree with that completely disagree. I think that they made the board look like a legit empire of death and destruction. I agree because I mean you get to see the board home quadrant and the wreckage that they've done throughout the Delta quadrant and their territory and awake before you just saw like they're small incursions in the Alpha quadrant the federation's territory. But now you see like this true empire that the board had built and when they say a few times across the series how the boring have assimilated literally billions and possibly trillions of people across the Delta quadrant. That is unbelievably high in number. Oh yeah and just like and especially when you hear a character like seven like even after he's been D- assimilated how she talks about the different things that the board of Don how they've run into different species end. How how they're classified and why they assimilated them for what technology or whatever I mean. It just really goes to put a bigger picture view. On what the Borg have really done at an what the collective have accomplished and I mean the just isn't things that seven herself have done with the board because like with their hive mind. She has knowledge of everything that the board is accomplished. So I really think that especially diving. Into the the board episodes at end the stories that they tell with them Really Make for interesting and unique storytelling that you don't get to see before even though they're a villain that we know it's still something a different side of them now. I want to go back to seven of nine just for a second because still a little bit of your thunder in. I'm going to say something. Maybe upset some people first then. I'll leave that to you a little bit later. That's a tease everybody. Seven of nine Let me start by saying I absolutely love Jerry riot as an actress. I think that whenever she gets really good material she knocks it out of the park. One hundred percent of the time however in the case of seven of nine I always thought she was a better character when she was out of her element. I did not much care for seven of nine. The extra drone to a point where I really didn't like her at all especially because in the first few seasons of voyager I really liked cats as a character But I think over time when the producers at Star Trek realized that Jerry Ryan was more than just I Canaan catsuit and was a very very very good actress. They started giving her a little more and and having her emotive more and show more of a character more of a personality and by the end of voyager where we started seeing her be more have more depth as a person beyond just being ex bore with this information available. I really think that she became a really good character. That Jerry Ryan did a lot with like I loved the episode where the Board Queen visited Saturn or. Was it the episode? Where seven started hearing voices of people that had been assimilated while she was a drone. And we got to see Jerry Ryan playing all of these different characters. And she absolutely nailed it Number two The episode I think in season seven where her and the doctor were abducted and they like had to switch bodies and everything and to see the doctor in sevens body and vice versa again. I think that was all a testament to how good of an actress Jeri Ryan really is I'm big on the Gerry Ryan hype train right now and. I'm glad that they expanded her character more than just being extra because for a while that got a little dry for me. I was not a big seven of nine fan and I'm glad she got better because I think Jerry Ryan deserved better and she shown it over and over again. Oh I definitely agree with that. I think I like to look at seven kind of because when when she was first introduced in and she was I. E assimilated It. It's almost like the the character itself was really a child like especially with her being assimilated to the poor. Get such a young age like she even though she is adult like she's a child and you got to watch her grow and develop throughout the later sees of seasons voyager and continue that into card and. I think that's the biggest gift you could ever give an actress like Jerry Ryan because she got to start with a blank slate and the character that wasn't designed to have any sort of personality or character ideals and then she is. The actress got to grow that character along that journey. And it says a lot about Jerry Ryan that she can portray seven like that and the amount of growth that she goes through and it says a lot about me behind the scenes crew voyager that they saw potential in her and gave her that opportunity because she she could have been a very one no character by and. I'm glad I'm glad they did. I want to talk about to other characters on voyager that I honestly feel like every character in voyager is underrated but I think that the two characters that I find to be. The most underrated are commodity Kobe. Who is maybe a bit one dimensional but.

"Rangers video game. That's what I want like if you give. Cbs or whomever a big triple a video game budget and have Jerry Ryan doing all of like the motion capture and voice work. You see in like a big video game. I will play that till the end of time. I want like a a single player action space ship Sifi Ferris Rangers Star Trek video game. And and I feel like that would be incredible Could it be a TV series? Absolutely but I really think what they've done is on top of a main star trek story with the main card storyline. They've put a lot of really good things under it that they'll be able to move forward with in. I think that was really well done. I think a lot of people are saying that they want to know more from these characters. They want to see more from this universe. They want to see more from what is happening in this timeline. And that's the best thing you can hope for with your first season is that you want that people wanna see more and I think card pretty much nailed it. I've really enjoyed the hell out of first season and I'm excited for when it comes back. I agree with you that one of the things kind of set out to do was get people excited about other characters and people wanting to know more because one of the things I've said like even before he's into discovery when people started clamoring about a Christopher Pike show as a you know the next live action show that they're actually going to confirm in. My opinion is going to be a spin off from Picard. It's GonNa take someone anyone doesn't I couldn't even begin to speculate. Which character is going to be your group of characters but I honestly think that they are planning in their ultimate scheme of things to have a spin off show from the series To help advance this universe forward so I'm looking forward to that I am. I just realized something that that I forgot for half a second. Even in episode eight nepenthes. Easy will reicher even said that he still on active reserve. Which really is just another seat to plant We've still never seen at least in television. We've still never seen the USS Titan. And I know a lot of people myself included want to see the US Titan and the idea of Reicher and Deanna. Troi being this husband. Wife Leads Star. Trek series is really really fun to me. I would love to see that I agree. I definitely agree in that. That's the so many different threads they could pick out of all this talk about feels good to talk about how many things are possible. There really is. I mean you can even look at the fact that for season two of Picard which is coming the. They did confirm that. That Patrick Stewart basically invited will be Goldberg to come back and guidance even to which is a whole mother Fred of possibilities. Bility's that we can see without excited for so and they've pretty much said all but officially that Georgia forge was part of a utopia plenty show on Mars. So it's entirely possible. He'll be there too so we might see Lavar Burton like honestly it. It's so cool that were in this age where there are so many different things that star trek could do and it really started with. Star Trek Discovery. Which is which is really amazing to save. Given how polarizing it was when it started and now it's opened up reopened up an entire universe of of a franchise worth of content But gotta say let's we're GONNA move into upcoming business and talk about discovery a little bit. I probably liked star trek discovery season one more than most and I thought it ended really really strong star Trek Discovery Season. Two was universally praised for more than just Captain Pike. I believe and season three a recently wrapped as the members of the casts have said. And it's a little weird I. I'm wondering where's that season. Three premiere date for Star Trek Discovery. Feel like we should have gotten a buy now. Don't you I? I think we should have gotten it by now to If you look at the production time between when the series wrapped and when the show premiered in season one season two with both like about a month not even a month So the season three raft the end of February. And we're now close to the end of March and we don't have a day and the one thing I've been seeing online. Is that a lot of the cast. Members are saying well they're still working on special effects and doing home now because the pandemic so it's going to take longer I don't know if that's a You know I didn't even think about that. Yeah I mean that's definitely cause delays but I think it is one of the things once sniff figure out how long it takes two to complete an episode. Like they can still figure out when they're going to premiere it because a lot of a lot of times with these shows like even they don't have to have the entire season completely finished by the time they premier as long as they can still work on it and they have everything finished by the time. Each episode airs isn't how Kinda felt that way with season one. Yeah if I remember. It felt like they were still maybe be in production or post production when season one started. That's the impression that I got exactly. And they had to be that way with season two two because I mean you can do raft at the end of December and then premiered on January the seventeenth. So that wasn't even like two weeks. They had to still be pros production for some of the later episodes things so I honestly had this theory in my head that instead of lake making some big announcement about the premier date for season three of discovery. They're just 'cause netflix started to do this with some of their shows. They just kind of announced like two weeks ahead of time. Oh the premier's coming in two weeks. I think they're going to do that with these three of discovery. Okay I have the ANC. Heather getting an. Yeah Yeah but I. I have this theory in my head. 'cause the season finale The card is next week. I think at the end of the season Finale Picard. We're going to get a new trailer attached to the end of the episode for season three in Discovery. And we're GONNA get day 'cause 'cause it does look cool season. Three does look cool. More where we're going way into the future and we're seeing the remnants of the federation. I'm I'm really intrigued by that. It just feels like there's they've got some really good writers doing some really interesting things with Star Trek and I'm really interested in that. Yeah it season three discoveries headed into all new territory. I I mean it's even farther in the future than what Picard is now so the the world and the Federation as we now at and the planet as we know it of the universe can be entirely different. The galaxy is their voice ter- and they can do what ever they want with it so I'm really excited to see where they went with it. And what happens and we're excited for all of you for listening to this podcast. Everybody like I said when we first started out. We're not going to go on too long. We're GONNA try and keep this fairly short sweet heather. Thanks for doing this with me again. It's been fun. It's really cool to talk star Trek with you. I'm excited I'm staying excited. "What is up everybody and welcome to the anime podcast of some sort. It's exactly what it says. It is and always has been and will be as long as it's still around. I'm David Majors. You probably already know that. My Co Host Jack. Mccallister artist extraordinary. What's Up Jack? Oh It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood just a beautiful full normal day in the neighborhood. Everything's fine everything's fine. Everything's totally normal. It most certainly is so I can't think of a better reason for us to talk about some anime and stuff that anime people like. So let's just jump right in and yes everybody. Yes Jack and I are definitely and I mean definitely talk about sonic the Hedgehog the movie so stick around for that stick and stay in rural. But let's just jump right in Everything is not fine over in Asia. It's not as you probably already know. there is this thing going around called the Corona Virus Yo. Vip It or in China and is starting to spread throughout all of East Asia. And there've been a few documented cases in other parts of the world now when things like this happen and start to spread of course things Pan Icke and unfortunately it's starting to get that way in Japan a certain things. A due to the corona virus outbreak are starting to get canceled including a street. Fiesta Called Nippon Bashi in Osaka Japan. That had an estimated two hundred thousand people attending it There was an event in Tokyo for the final fantasy seven remake the Tokyo marathon and a few different anime series. Currently airing season have been delayed because of this virus and recently the discussion of possibly the twenty twenty Olympics in Tokyo. Possibly being postponed because of this jack before I go into crazy land about this especially related to the Olympics What do you think about this? I I really think it's unfortunate. I mean you know. I won't go into detail but there's certainly been you know some some buzz. You know Everywhere about this disease and I think it does no good to point fingers. It does absolutely zero help to point any kind of a correlation here because there is none so people who wanna play any kind of race card. I'm just saying like how about you but And I know for a fact that certain scientific rail gun is a fairly popular anime. So I'm wondering how fans of the series are are feeling about that. If there's any kind of fan petition going around to help anyone who's affected you know it really makes you wonder about what the you know the community and how everyone is reacting and everything and the best thing to do. I've always believed in any sort of retire situation California faced fires multiple years. The ports is to not panic. The people who will calmly get up and it will Pitch in and help and you know maintaining any kind of order that you can. That will just go along way a in everything but I. This is super tough to even crack. Because you know you think about like when have they delayed the Olympics in recent history and things like that? This is still some fairly dire. It's like this is. It's the this is not something to be lightly. No no this is pretty serious at this point so I will give you the floor but all I can say is that On all kinds of things you know in Japan and you know any anime fans or Tourists otherwise who might feel affected by this either emotionally or even physically. You know the important thing is to just keep a level head as best you can because panic is how epidemics and other worse. Things continue to spread. Well Jack I'm GonNa go with this the only way that I think I can. And that's with dark humor I saw something on the interwebs a couple of days ago in relation to this That I can tie into anime For everyone out there that knows the. The seminal anime movie. Akira or occupy. If your fancy al-Qaeda is a movie Taking place About an apocalyptic event that place before the Tokyo Twenty Twenty Olympics After it was advised to postpone the Olympics Doodo pandemic and when I saw this and realized that the Olympics aren't Tokyo in twenty twenty. And now we have this and now there's a possibility that the Olympics might be postponed and it was like. Oh No that's weird. All of these weird coincidences are happening. Jack I've said many times that I'm looking forward to living in our sci-fi future of not so surely we are catching up in some We're catching up in some dates. In Ace attorney you know. So I think keeping my gravestone on and that wears buzzy case is still at large. But this this is was there. I'm not looking forward to the sci-fi future anymore check. I'm not looking forward to it. This is taking a very eastern. Yes it is Let's talk about Video Games Jack A yield of my time to you. Oh boy well. I'm super happy to once again. Bring it to people's attention so a guy do the most accurate way I can for this Lear I am once again. Asking you supply under hero which has now been released on the PS four xbox one and the switch. I've talked about this before so I just want to say that I certainly appreciate you bringing his game to our attention. before I had mentioned that I sought and If it came out on consoles I would check it out so really want to appreciate you bringing it to our tension. Yes it is true This excellent I would say meadow but not to meditate on action. Adventure Games series such as paper. Mario and the like There's so many different various video game. Mascot Nintendo motifs but more so than that it just feels like this a game made by people who love video games who love telling stories about the hero saving the realm from the king. So if that seems like you're kind of Thing that you've played a dozen times before and you're looking for something fresh to shake it up. I would highly recommend this Like I said Spin it actually there are. There are several different areas in the game that are based off various platforms and there is a section highly reminiscent of sonic that would be jungle area. It's very Green Hill. Know about it do no. I love me some momentum based platforming. Oh yeah this is a very fun game I've seen it when it was still just an hour long demo It was talked about a lot in the speed community. There'll interesting glide technique as you play as a sort of shy guy minion character. That's the whole spin of it. Is that your opinion turned accidental hero. Traversing this mystical realm You've a hood that you can hover around with and and slow your sentences. Such and I could find that that would be a very interesting way to Open up your momentum how your your fall angle is and everything like that so I would highly recommend checking us out. It's got a unique turn based system that pretty much enemies will attack in a set pattern. Almost like it's real time and you get to attack whenever you one With a certain counter attacking's so if you you know attack with the sword count three or so and uh it'll constantly refresh so you'll basically Either be able to spam from the outset or just kind of strategically place out your moves and such. It's very very interesting. And engaging game and I can't say enough about the art style. The soundtrack is also quite exquisite. You can listen to it on spotify if that's your game Which it has been and just so many memorable characters character designs. I'm myself have cost played Mr Stitches from the game Which is the evil boss. Character that you're essentially trying overtake. Who doesn't want to overtake their boss. It's kind of the evil king. Bowser sort This game is also on sale. On the Nintendo's which store I believe for it's Initial release and that will be until The middle of the month the nineteenth of March. So go ahead and get yourself a copy of under hero on. Ps Four xbox one or switch and of course it is also still available on steam very excellent game paper castle. You absolutely just throwing it out of the park and also can I just a shoutout saikin's that's tes why. Casey U H S on both twitter instagram. All kinds of stuff. Because they made my Mr suggests costs play and they have the highest quality stuff so please check them out. Can I get back because I might need some? 'cause play advice again and okay let me make sure that. I actually am Spelling you right as well so okay so I am so. That's T. S. Y. K. C. U. H. S that's psychos. And they are just like I said one of the most amazing a from scratch cost player seem stirs. I know Also made a really ex- lynch while Luigi Leather Jacket for me To represent my love for Mario Kart end it is like an author at garment so yes please check them out I also checked out another game. I just WanNa quick they touch on David. This was another switched release And I like some things about it but there was one thing. Just kinda nibbled at me. But first thing I'll say. Is that coffee? Talk on. The switch is pretty much. Valhalla CYBERPUNK bartending action for coffee addicts instead. So if you like. That is Mike Myers in high drinks instead. I wish you know he's been out of work recently. I think he could do. They not making Shrek six or the remake for awhile so he needs something but eventually Shrek. I guess he does it. Yeah he's still. He's still on Enrique for those unless unless they decided to recast. Anyway WHO'S GONNA? Watch the REBOOT OF SHREK. Probably me but not a not in theaters Coffee Talk is a NEAT little game. Like I said if you've played Valhalla CYBERPUNK bartending action. It's a very similar kind of a game You basically go through a visual novel ask series conversations with various customers of certain walks of life in this rather than a cyberpunk motif which I know. David is quite fond of. It's more of a modern day with dungeons and dragons races kind of deal. So it's like bright but good You know you have. Orcs learning Technological things you meet a programmer and She's Kinda doing her own deal. There's mermaids Nikko Mimi. There is a whole family deal with that situation. That's a lot of fun Elves half elves suck. You buy the whole like and you kind of get to engage in encounter with all of them. The bartender scenes are not the bartender. But you do. The baristas seemed to be a little bit. More than what you might be to me. The I Transformers but It's all very nicely chill and subtly done and you get to make law Tihar. That could not be better but I do have to say. There's one thing that I cannot recommend about this There's various little apps on your phone again like Valhalla. That you can kind of tinker around with like You can look up the various drinks that you can make in the Barista bar and you can also change the BG 'em and check out a in a sort of facebook like APP. You can check out information about all of your customers. And you know as they kind of slowly befriend you and open up to you and stuff There's one that I just cannot recommend. After a certain point even to engage end complete everything the game would have to offer because with visual novel Games. Of course the writing is king you kind of want to See what all the texts that you possibly can't flavor the world there's a writer character named Freya and she's addicted to Espresso..

"Organised Garrett Aziza for us to get rid of it. Hoping there's even now worth while and I do. Some lap is a double up. And you know I I would love to see someone just kind of Gitte but who knows maybe someone's already working on something like that. Be Not Jack. What's up with tokyo-noumea what's you put this in the show notes? What Oh yeah? Oh Yeah David global warming is real. The Year of our base got twenty twenty. It's real it's happening happen. In the end of the world is nigh the planets on fire bill. Nice mad about it There's this little magical girl show that got some some folks Introduced me to early on in my anime career air end the enemy is not not good David and it did not get a good localization this little Manga series with environmental spin on it Got Picked up by four kids for localization and that was localized to us as mew mew. Power David I'm just giving you the pitch. Yes yes you got five girls. Because it's always a team of five girls in Tokyo Japan because we don't have Ronin warriors. They are no and they fall. Victim to genetic experiment. Gone wrong Because of an earthquake and are all injected with the DNA of then Endangered Species of the world and with these new hybrid powers. They became superpower full and fought aliens who were seeking to celebrate the pollution that humans had already put into motion thus far and it was a really environmentally charged Manga. Like and you know the show in Japanese you know in its entirety. It's not really well animated like I said in the colors are Kinda Kinda like bleach levels of. Oh he had orange hair. I think you mean he had dayglo hair. You know like I. It's it's night and day difference quite literally but it but I'd love to see something like this comeback and I feel like moving into talking about our hopes and wishes for twenty twenty. I'm just going to see if I can Stargate make it so. And just wish for a reboot. It's time global. Warming is real or doing when we done it. It's it's it's happening and I'd love to see Japan just Kinda come back out and say hey. Hey you know this is kind of an of a a small classic. 'cause this did relatively well in Japan if I remember like Merch and games and spin offs like there was a lot of stuff I'd like to see this. You know it'd be. It'd be kind of a fun way to fill out a show Joe roster that's pretty much being dominated it by sailor moon and card captors over the last three decades which is just say you know. They're fine. I just think you know there are more timely things to think about and so I just wanted to bring that up and say it's time for the year is Ni- let's do it. Come on Japan hell do it Kamiya Hamming if this were to happen I feel like there's only one person that would lead the DUB if if this were to get an English dub gratitude burke killing Ratatouille Lemberg to in the dump. "A lot of people who have been following along Award Jack. It came right out of the stand A lot of people who know me or have been following along. No that Steven Universe is one of those things that I really love to return to to sort of flex my I guess critical muscles and just really pick apart. What a lot of modern animation tends to get wrong now that Steven Universe itself is over and his wrapped up with the movie it still carries over some of its bigger issues that were really evident in the later seasons where nobody and I mean Nobo- nobody in the Phantom liked it And just being on the cusp hospice that you know knowing friends who were there since the beginning and just kinda wanting to see this at end you know eventually like I'm just here to see this is end. I gotta say there have been more instances than not that. I have enjoyed an episode because Yes yes I think a lot of what you've said is right on the nose. They've been a lot more careful and low and a lot more I think conscientious of what they're putting in each episode. I still think that there's some things that need fixing and it's really not. It's something that I think that they're going to be able to do in Steven Universe itself but the first thing David eggs they gotta get longer run time. I think something nothing like Steven Universe Future. That is so intent on having slow moments of character reflection and development. It needs more time time. It needs moments like gravity falls had not to say needs to be one to one but grabby falls has some good moments where you establish the characters use tablets. Is there conflict. You see what they're going on about. You see them kind of internalized things over the course of the episode and it rolls in to something that snowballs and becomes the conflict of the episode. I think some good examples of this word. The Bluebird episode with the Final Confrontation Nation with Greg I think that that was a really good example but it needed a little bit more time. Some breathing room as it were I've mentioned this on my instagram. I am I think they could have really liked that for a couple of episodes even and kind of had like bluebird sort of wandering in the back you know. And and maybe a couple episodes later. The epic portrayal happens but it looks like that character might come back. They're sort of You know again like you say they plant some seeds and things like that another good one was the cat episode. I think just overall when they have it right again they nail everything when they have the gem action the moments of developing Stephen and his internal conflict and his feelings links towards the rest of the cast and his mother The animation has definitely been more consistent. There's been some people have noticed some things but everything so far has not been jarring and horrible like it used to be i. I feel like it could just be a little bit better. And the only reason I say this is because everybody everybody loves Steven Universe and I think when it comes to that you need to realize that you you gotta have someone who is sitting there saying that you know no. It's not that this show can do no wrong. It's that you know the better. It could be great. Oh it could do a lot of wrong and it has But at the end of the day I think my main main problem with it is The thing that carried over the worst is that the gems don't know how to really communicate. Sometimes there will be moments where they just act completely immature and childish and it can be played off for laughs but you start to wonder like you guys lizard thousands of years old and continually bring this up when it matters. Why haven't y'all talk to each other about about this? If it really bothers you that much Kim I throwing ideally bothers. Can I go to guys out there about that One and I'd always heard this a lot with Dr who They're aliens they're aliens so talking to humans is hard for them that would be me talking to each other and two number two Sure they are thousands of years old but on home world and in the Great Diamond Authority there was always a caste system and there was a hierarchy so maybe a only until recently thanks steven they never really. We need to talk to one another. Because of the hierarchy and the gem caste system. Everyone knew their place. Everyone knew their purpose which which is something they talked about which is why little homeschool exists. So maybe they just never had the opportunity to do do those things because it was just never needed until recently. That's a decent point But I think just if if you're talking about a trio as tightly knit as Garnet amethyst and Pearl it just every single time that they always draw this out like sense. The SARDONIC ARC. And I know that's going back to the original Steven Universe but they hit some moments like this in future as well where I just wonder like how hoke the fuck is this. Not come up for Y'all in discussion like even just casually like hey you know I really like when we use the start is but there's really no reason to do anymore anymore. Oh Yeah you're right maybe we just do some dentist you know just for funsies done solved again. I know that that's that example. But if they do now they're totally okay with it. I would be totally okay with that. If they do that for Sun Stone I love the Don. I think they need to do stuff like that. Because like episodes like ah yeah it was just like you really. You really need to talk and I know that part was mostly Stephen needs to be able to. You know talk about things like that and I do say David. I think you're spot on about the fact that this is finally kind of like hitting some pater for some good good good good lessons lessons to teach some youth to think. Hey Hey are you not taking carry yourself. She probably take care yourself issue. Get some damn therapy. I ended like and also yeah. You're fifteen you're sixteen. You're seventeen you're gonNA be going through a lot of changes and you're gonNA becoming in adult soon and he might not see some of your friends that you use to see much anymore. It's GonNa be tough but you're going I'M GONNA have to learn to live with it. Yeah just you know. I I see what they're trying to do for the most part and I really am just giving get the most chances that I can and I am going to see this through to the end I just feel like for the most part it ends up being a very disproportionate pushing a balancing act of okay. Now there's a lot of people talking about their feelings and you do realize you guys are super powerful rocks with magic powers you can solve your problems with okay. You can just talk a little bit because I gotTa say this David. I might sound like a little bit of a child. I'll here but If I make a story about super powerful character Earth's at can shape shift and do anything thing. I think I'm probably going to have them do that a lot. Because that would be fun and good to animate yeah. There is a budgetary standpoint of that. Never refuse to think that there's anyone who you know is maybe on the younger side of the Steven Universe demographic who's watching this going like. Oh Yeah Yeah I'm I'm down for this But you know that. That's that's more of a minor. Gripe I get that they're in an epilogue so it is a bit more con- conversational. The part of me just thinks every once in a while like you guys are powerful alien but then you get episodes like Stephen Tag. It ends up all right so you know I'm going to give it a B minus right now I'm GonNa give Steven Universe Future A. B. Minus. See me after class. We got some things to work out. But I'm rooting for you. And I think you can do better. I am giving Steven Universe Future. Abi I'm saying good work I feel like could by the end of the semester. You'll have it figured out and you'll be all right. I think we're in in for a good finale. Whatever whatever's going to happen of a finale that we can actually start seeing Yes they're actually planting seeds for for how about that. Can you please end end and well. I feel like you know there there were. There's some good points where they could've ended like Jean language virtue. Tom Seen In. Change your mind look you adventure tie It's like the the animated n sequence in. Change your mind I gotta say like it could have ended their absolute. I would have been happy. That is undeniably the best sequence in Steven Universe bar none but you know then the movie happened and that wrapped up things pretty well too. WHO and they said? Yeah we're GONNA keep going on with Steve Even Universe Shipton and Steven Doc Steven Universe guy it. I don't know I actually. That's a joke. I always say but I really would love to see Steven Universe Guy. You know maybe twenty thirty years down the line someone says you know. This should have been twenty. Two minutes should have been twenty two minute episodes and we should have Actually known what we were doing from the beginning and they can go in they. Can you know actually establish some stuff that can you know pretty it up a little bit. Make season for not look like such hot garbage edge.

"Was like. Oh yes Jesus yes we totally have gargoyles guys are bad. Sorry that was that was not on purpose. And that's kind of how I feel Gargoyles Justice League Avatar the the animated shows that can tell a story without it being Kooky wacky. We had that with thunder cats. We we had that with teen titans. Now we don't and let me preface this and saying I like teen titans go and and I'm a grown ass man in my thirties. I like team Tyco and go see the movie and was fine. It was it was but I do think that that we still have a market for action animation. That tells you a story. I definitely think it's still out there and seeing an thunder cats roar such as it is it just reminded me of how bummed I was that thunder cats In twenty eleven got cancelled the way it it did not just that just bumped me out aside from the fact that well once again. It kind of looks like Oh K. K. O. Two point. Oh Um I I gotTa Tell You David I think what cartoon network and you know this goes on to my favorite scapegoats show as well which I I think we might discuss a little bit. But cartoon network has ideas but then when it goes into SUV finally putting them into practice into fruition and completion execution. They're just not taking the right direction with any of their projects. I don't think you know you have something like adventure time which is just spread out and there's too much that you're trying to juggle in the air. There's too many characters. The Art Direction Literally Ruins Your House style for decades which shouldn't have because the the entire channel was you know one show after the next look completely different and you know the genre wasn't Kooky action adventure comedy all the time. Oh man you know moving moving forward into that I. I'd like to see you know with this. New Change in leadership see more more focused You know show runners. That may be. Don't just have. Hey I have this idea for the ending of season one with this one character but but I don't know how the four main cast are gonNA fully developed or if they've ever discussed any kind of conflicts at length and yes vegan about Steven Universe. So let's just jump in On gotTA everybody Jack my was still talk every now and then and one topic that kept coming up. We'll Steven Universe I think both jacket I have varying opinions On Steven Universe and I will say inbetween US doing the podcast. The Steven Universe movie came out and now we've entered Third Steven Universe Future. I really enjoyed the movie. I think that it tied up a lot of loose ends. It gave us a character in spinal that was obviously very popular. If you went to any conventions in two thousand nineteen and I thought the music was pretty league good overall maybe not. I'm decent and best. That has come out of that franchise but pretty good overall. I enjoyed it quite a process to The diamonds Andrew Sisters. Oh my gosh number because I gotta say It took me a minute to to realize that. That's what they were. You know taking a mosh because if it's not completely blatant with this show it can get really vague but the show is really good that stuff and then there are moments where it where Steven Universe is almost family guy. In how obvious it's references are ELA ned. I'm GONNA talk about. Yeah let's talk about it talk about Steven Universe Future I think you might have stronger opinions on Steven Universe future than I do but I will say that I am enjoying dare I say the crew at Steven Universe future doing something called foreshadowing towing and storytelling how that you don't see that much anymore in American annexation foreshadowing and storytelling and having a bit of a message message dare I say As we know with Steven Universe Future Stephen is now sixteen years old. He use seventeen now actually so so he. He's a young adult. He's growing up and I I think about the the kids who are growing up. WHO started watching Steven Universe when they were young and I really hope that they're watching this show and it is helping them with growing growing up because they're seeing Stephen go through these things where people are moving on with their lives? Relationships are changing and Stephen. Even in some ways is growing up himself he's running low homeschool The crystal gems aren't really kind of they're still trying trying to mom him a little bit and he's getting a little tired of it like hey I'm growing up. I'm seventeen I can. I can be my own man and in some ways and he still has has his relationship with his father episode. Stephen Tag was a great episode in the Hitomi of their comedy. Mixing exciting with their filler mixing with character moments in the eleven minute runtime just really really well and keeping some superpower gem action in there like they got everything they checked every check box I think possibly could but that it really hit home the the story points that I'm talking about. It's the one one of Stephen is growing up and everyone is dealing with moving on and growing up in in time in over the last few years like like we all do and also growing up isn't easy and Steven is having a hard time with that that has been the the arc that has been sprinkled throughout the show. That Stephen is having moments where he's having a hard time dealing he can deal at sometimes and he's okay but sometimes he's not and it's getting a little out of control well at times. I like the story that it looks like they're telling I don't want to give this crew and this show too much credit it but it looks like they are putting in things that What I criticised adventure time for? It looks as though Steven Universe future clearly has a plan of where they're going and I can respect that. I can see where it's going and I see the themes in I respect what they're trying to do so so far I'm giving Steven Universe of future thumbs up so far how about you jack. Well.

"Box still here. And also Romney because that like has school much sugar in it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Everybody come to colossal Khan. It's. Insane. I also I also say that I feel like going to canal's depends on what convention, you go to. I feel like some conventions are definitely known for like their panels and their guests or as some are more so known for like their dealers hall or other things because like I can say that I feel like Fanta may is most known for the fact that is the only convention that I've gone to so far. That's open twenty four hours 'cause have an in. Yeah, that's fascinating. Because in the mid west, I would say, the only exception is probably a sen- I, I know they're video game room is not twenty four hours. But that's rare around here. Everything is twenty four hours. It It really. really I don't know about animate expo because I haven't gone before. I wanna go, though, but I know when I've gone to sac anime, and when I've gone to crunchy roll expo both of those headed in time. Yeah. Yeah, the, the Constanta is still open, but they don't have anything plan. They don't have a twenty four hour, you know hall for people to nerd out in the whole time. Yeah, very really coz, it wants you to honestly Levin across the concept. Hey do. Yeah. Because at least with the conventions in the mid west people are still roaming around the concept, or at, like three in the morning. Oh, that's fully fully in Qasr play fully with drinks in their hands. It's it doesn't stop and you can go to the game room any hour of any day, and have some games going on like it really does not stop until people just are in a stupor on Sunday morning. So shea got I meant to ask you. I loved your Cherie Qasr play. I. You're sure he calls play was absolutely Lawsom, one person that I'm was rooming with at colossal Khan, her, and I her name is Sophie, we have tentatively agreed either for your mccown in Detroit, or next year at colossal. Con we will be doing a two Challah and dorm lingerie joint 'cause play. Oh my God. Yes. Yes. What's that? I have to say that it was so much fun. Confling cherie. And I also want to say I did not make my costume. I bought it off of Amazon. The only part of that costume I actually did was the makeup of the only bar. I actually did everything else I bought off, Amazon. They had it like packaged as like an adult Cherie costume. And I got my Star Trek uniform from wish. So again, from China, which means they wjm made it for me to order and got the badge designed by a metal maker, but the boots in the socks were mind. But it was all made and tailored to me. Yeah. For me, the only thing also only thing that was mine, where my shoes, but it was it was a lot of fun. I was actually just like how you said how how you felt when people like ask for pictures. I also felt very awkward when people ask me for pictures because I wasn't expecting it. Because I've only cost play two other times. And the last time I. Sydney to. For me. I was like it was very weird and my boyfriend strangely enough he did not cause play, especially that he didn't cost that day and he was stranded. Enough can't kind of became my handler, because it was it was just really funny, because we're getting stopped so many times when we would walk, and I would have to give him my stuff to hold while. And then he was, like, I gotta was the goes to the bathroom. And he was like, yeah, I saw you just off in the bathroom. And I was like, yeah, I was kinda just like I just want to go. I just want to get to the back. But it was it was it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. And then my boyfriend was like yet, even people who didn't ask for pictures. He's eilly would walk by them, and they was, I would hear them whisper all their that Suri like oh, that's very cool. And I'm like I didn't know that. All he's like, yeah, you probably did it, and it was, it was fun. I enjoyed it. It's now I officially now think Cherie is going to be my, my go-to causeway. Really? Now, let me ask you this for for mine. It was Star Trek discovery a brand new show. There were other Star Trek fans from all of the other shows. So in my case that was very, very unique people were like, oh my God. You're the first Star Trek discovery ever seen Suri. And I'm sure that there were plenty of people from Black Panther and marvel. Did you see other Suri's? I did not. I didn't even see another like black. I didn't even see a Black Panther. At one point. That's so disappointing. Isn't it isn't that so disappointing? When there's when there's like a marvel photo shoot. There's like a marvel photo shooting every convention now, but you only see maybe one Black Panther. That's so destroyed. And everybody's just doing chubby Thor and spider. Man. I saw a lot of chubby Peter Parker from spider verse with the sweatpants. That was a really low maintenance and pretty plentiful costs player saw round there. Cost erica's, captain America's. It was cool. Because like I walked by two guys. One was dressed up as captain America. And I think I forgot what the other guy was just as and we both looked at each other and gave each other like the nod of, like, hey, what's up, but we didn't like the hidden each other. But it was like recognizing of light revolt Justice over marble franchise franchise. Yeah. It was like. So you guys don't have a hand sign like like the Trekkies, because we can all gauge other live long and prosper. Now we didn't have a hand sign. Other Black Panther three thousand one it, yeah, if people from Black Panther were there, you can do the content salute. But other than that, I guess there's Iraq people age, though, what kinda the Kearns Liu so like every picture, mostly with people, I was doing the Kanda sign 'cause ass not, what a lot of people wanna made to, to do which was really close. A lot of fun time I ever got awkward or released, like, strange was, I had this one guy walk up to me, and he liked it the will conduct sign and then walked off. And then he came back to me goes, wait, you're dressed assure. Right. And I said, yes, it was like, okay, I was like great. Just in case I wasn't no exact looking at. So something that happened at colossal Khan Sophian, either one that I talked about that wants to cause plays one of the door. The patio of our hotel room where the pool in everything is of she screamed out, something when I mentioned that I would do to cello with her. She screamed out e- palm bay like in Infinity war, and then somebody out in the distance screamed it back and we. Back and forth. And we just started. That is almost a continuation of the colossal Khan patio parties that, that have occurred because patio parties at Colosio on our thing with deejays on the patios with full sets, because this convention is absurd. But that is something that is, so wonderfully connecting with all of this is that we all have these shared experiences, even across the country whereas I'm here and you guys are there and you guys are talking about that together and it's just so, so awesome Jake. Oh, you mentioned you mentioned guests, not executive con- strong suits. But who did you encounter? Again, the, the guests in the panels are not really my thing, although I was aware that the massive outspread of deadpool's were there because of a pretty much like the first big like big famous deadpool cost player in the area deep pity. He was coming, and there was a bit of a concern that there might be, you know, people using it as an excuse to be a dick 'cause that tends to be the kind of general idea of dead last players. They're kind of high mind that way. But honestly, everybody was very cool and pretty much just doing the silly thing, and that was pretty great to hear. There was some fantastic artists that I always love to see there. And, you know the artist alley is absolutely impeccable. But you guys are on the topic of cost place. So I think it's time to, to let the the master remote and let's 'cause play expert over here. So I had a number of cost place to do this, this con-. And I knew that I'd limit myself a little bit because we've got second to make coming up, but I still did not. I didn't stop myself from going hand. I had many opportunity to do some quick changes. And since Georgie of my cost plays were ducks worked out, well. So on Friday, had the good fortune of starting out the day in full Scrooge mcduck regalia. Although it's funny that share your mentioning that you had that moment of confusion, with, with someone, not entirely sure if you were you were actually Suri. Somebody came up to me while I was waiting to check into the hotel and asked are you. Are you Scrooge mcduck cost fling Griffin? Mcelroy friendly adventures like what is this deep gut? What are you talking about? Also, I'm just barely dipping the surface into that content where I kinda know what you meant by that. So, you know, I just kind of nodded and let them take my picture because I'm, I'm shameless like. But that was quite excellent. I've got to say you, you had it. Absolutely right. About the, the unevenness of, of marble folk, but I was also really shocked. Apprised and maybe this is just carrying over because I had I have bride joker in other DC characters to Fanta may. But there's very few Batman and I get the, the weather for sure. But it was actually kinda nice this weekend, and I was very shocked. Not to see too many bad men, but moving on into the day, I changed into classic Donald Duck and just gonna recount this for everybody because it was a bit of an engineering showing to get them all to fit. I've got a fanny pack kind of based off of the one that shows up in the in the new show, ducktail twenty seventeen where Donald got fanny pack. That's party foul in bright pink letters on a neon. Yeah. And spelled F O wwl as you might imagine. So I found one, thanks to my good friend, axel Manch. Define me one online, on a website called, who's your fanny and. Procure myself some stuffed up versions of my nephews. Huey Dewey, and Louie, and by some force of sheer determination, I was able to cram them.

"Was a dub thing guarantee. I'm name is Karen, I like it. But I'll be rooting for your mother to win the full review. Ten we one more time, Jack tell us where review Starlight is available for viewing review star light is available for both the Doug and subtitled versions on our good friends at birth. And I believe that's. Crunchy roll. No, it's actually high dive say, yeah, that's on. Verve. It's pretty great. Please support the official release. We gotta we got to incorporate that into the drinking game somehow to is. That is a thing we say here as well. A lot. We talk about deficits, we apologize for things a lot, and we tell people to support the official release. I think I think we need to incorporate that too well. I'm sorry that people are not supporting the official release of Starlight revere right now like the could be. If they weren't busy watching net flicks strand. Get it in there. There we go. You're welcome. Now. Let's bring it to the main event of the evening. I was reading of your pieces for one second and saying all out the enemy. It's wreck. The enemy all up. Yes. All out there. It is. It has been found that is absolutely fantastic. I looking at this in real time. And you guys can hear my keyboard? Clack clack. Yes. This is rugby. And I'm there it is all out there. It is and ENA you win new way. So now, I'm going to take this time since I can't like buy you a drink because this is a podcast, but you win the game. So I'm going to take this time now to talk a little bit about something. I saw on your very your very website, the drunken anime blog dating SIMS R for lonely loosers and other lies. Now. I love this article one because you subverted the the entire concept and two because for people out there that that might already know, I'm. Kind of a judgmental bastard. So. I saw this and it immediately caught my attention. And I'm someone who is known as being a bit of the lewd police, I do not suffer lutes greatly. So when I read this one, it was it caught my attention of saying, okay? We all know the stereotype of those that play the dating sim games, especially the more explicit ones. But then it kind of went on from there in really loved your inciting. So tell me what you were thinking tell me your thoughts when you were going through this and and playing some of these games. Well, like, I said at the article much like you originally a had a lot of preconceptions interest in. I am not the lead police at all. So the fact that there were similar risque materials wasn't problematic in my opinion. But it seemed sort of like. Just a waste of time. And I basically just picked up a game to make fun of it. Because I'm a bit of a jerk. Fit in perfectly with us. I promise. I feel right at it turns out to be weirdly fun for reasons that I didn't expect now like like any other form of idioms. There's good ones. There's bad ones. There's a lot of ones, but the bad ones are stupid in a very harmless sort of way in a non annoying way just the type of stupid, you could laugh at and Nick fun of an know that no one out there in the world is taking this seriously at all. And whereas the smart ones, they they can actually get you to think about yourself a little bit in a way that I've found rhetoric unusual redder unique. It's a game. That's very for lack of a better word boring. It these types of gains asks you to do their sort of Monday actions, just basic conversations would basic people that aren't really interesting the main characters. And I I am selling its keep rebel. The main characters are often not that since they're supposed to be an audience surrogate. They're not that special. Everybody supposed to see something of themselves in it. So you're not written as fantastic, which means that you're trying to pour yourself in forced around personality onto it in a very sort of unique way away that you don't do it other games slicking else to do and you start to really figure out who you want to be not necessarily who you are. But cou in an ideal world, you'd wanna be perceived has you have no choice. That's the only way that you can really enter produce sites games. And yet I find found out a bit about myself. Not all great things. Some were interesting things. But I started to see what somebody else might see. It's really not a simulation for any sort of relationship or for. Real life direction. Anyway, it's more of a next flourish in of in an idealized world. What would you what would you like people to see us? And also it's just a way to live in a completely ridiculous soap opera, which wasn't well as really fun, especially a few drinks in speaking a wrestling fan. I can definitely relate to the soap opera dynamic you deft. You've mentioned something about the living in a world in it made me think that maybe I've been looking at these games the wrong way, all this time in that. Maybe I should start comparing the more to RPG games as opposed to them being kind of their own little weird genre. That's all on their own. Maybe the dynamics are more like RPG games with different characters that are different archetypes in person. Analogies and you being the protagonist that your own personality. Maybe if I were to interpret these more as an RPG game with choices how they go and how things turn out many. That's the way it can go because there are. Yes. I was gonna say I don't dislike RPG games for the most part. But go ahead, Jack. There are a number of games that come to mind for this. I happen to be a not too much anymore because they are very time consuming, especially the ones that are more heavily, you know, focused on the writing in the world building, a number of games, come to mind that have a very, you know, leveling up system because you know, you are correct arena in he's Avalon of very basic tasks that you have to accomplish a lot of times, and sometimes you'll even have to level the character by accomplishing these basic tasks in order to complete certain criteria. You know, it isn't just about oh, I gotta say the thing that is gonna not piss this character off in this choice of one or two. And if I get it wrong. I just had to go back. Like, there are some games that do require a bit of leveling up. Like, you gotta actual. Alie have something for the guy. A or, you know, your otherwise partner to you know, latch onto end. There were a couple that you mentioned in this article. Actually, there was such as hustle cat, which is a really interesting one. And you made note here of the fact that that is a game where you can pick your own gender it which I think is very great. And there are a widespread include a that. There is a rising amount of games that will primarily have maybe a all-male partners, maybe one female option for an Ota may game. Or I haven't really seen the case, otherwise, and you also mentioned that there is a lot of lack of gay dating soums. I know it, but you know, I'd like to also see the opposite be true. But there are at least for the ODA Mae side of things there is a little bit of more choice. Us occasionally happening. And you make a great point about these really feel more like they're meant to set up a premise of a world or a certain kind of system that exists in a pre existing world or otherwise. And then the characters are also either part of it or or some other sort of compliment to the world. Like, I see you have a screen shot of odds mafia here, which if anyone can not tell from the title is a combination of. Mafia families and wizard of Oz characters. And it's I mean, are you not entertained just hearing that like if sometimes that's all you need like the pitch can be intriguing enough to look at on its own. Let me just tell you in one of the early stories of the game Demane character. Which is the lovely lady called Fuca loses a beauty contest to a duck.

"Simmering. That my mom back in the day. Well, I hate to say I did not go as deep into thought with these as my notes for when I came up with this right before our podcast. I simply came up with what I thought would be the most marketable, and I'm I mean, there are bits and pieces of. Idia flying out air of this already. But I mean is it really that note worthy? If no one's talking about it. I'm talking, of course of the underutilized, but very popular Sifi dogfighting series of Nintendo's known as star FOX it's animals in space doing completely marketable dogfighting maneuvers. And wouldn't you love to see that in movie great animation because this has to be animated? It cannot be that uncanny. Not live action that Disney is trying. So so hard to keep having be failing. And I guess sonic is continuing to follow with that. But I really feel like. Yes. It's yet. Another scifi story where you're just following a bunch of ships and everything, but it's so easy to understand the characters are so massively in your face about some excellent personalities to go off with one of 'nother, you can get all the celebrity cameos in there that you want, and I have here in my notes that for my possible casting that have Chris Pratt is not at least star FOX. He should have like a cameo. There is the the stone her dog Bill he'd make an excellent Bill for like a, hey, I'm just gonna fly in for two seconds. And then I'm gone by. I don't know. It'd be even better. Maybe it had like a like a specially made raccoon model for him. There you go. I know it's their own character. But you know. Would you want Jackson vis to have say some DOD consulting? So you can use like real life play or or planes like from the ace combat series where their souped up super planes, and it's a wild crazy almost metal gear solid esque plot for your star FOX movie. I absolutely would love that. There are some previously made fictious craps for the series, the our wings, and such and the great FOX that I would like them, of course, to base everything off of. But the realism I would love for them to get a little bit deeper into that. And this is where I'm going to also admit that David I kinda cheated a bit. It's not a moving us a -ssarily. But there's something with that kind of tone that already exists. And I believe we might have talked about it on. A previous installation of a poss- or maybe even harkening way way back to eight three K times deer. Remember the web animation? A FOX in space vaguely do FOX in space fatally. Yes. So for you. And it'll be I'm going to just just remind you that this is a single guys passion. One fella working. I think there's two episodes strong now. Because again, it's just one guy doing it. This taking him all these years to make to associates of a ferry. Smartly written quickey well animated beautiful kinda like neon vapor wave eighties aesthetic kind of star FOX adult animated cartoon series. You know, there's intrigue you've got wolf bailing amount and bringing him into meet mob. Boss Andros, there's all kinds of really great ideas going in here and again. It's only two episodes strong because is to this one guy dune at and I mean spoilers for all those years ago, podcast, Nintendo. Didn't take it down. They just kinda made their own subpar CG anime. So you know, if that interests, you please take a look at pick it up, you know, it's just a couple of associates that's the kind of tone. I'd like to see them take going forward, and I cannot stress this enough. I think that sort of thing needs to be used sparingly. But it is so awesome to see and properties. It's like this. Anna could've worked with it could have. And that's all leave that. And guys if you have listeners your own idea what you might want to pitch at us. I'm at call me DJ 'em, Jack, Jack detailer de let us know your pitch where we're open-minded or at least Jackson open minded on. Sometimes. Yeah. Let us know. We wanna hear your pitch. I came up with an elevator pitch idea. Thingy awhile back. So yeah, let us know at us. Why don't you Jack? What what's this about yoga you put here in the show notes? What what's this all about? Jack, watch it. You'll be anime David. Hey, man me. It's podcast. Everybody. Thanks to our good buddies at verve. This is not sponsored by birth. I'm just watching. I came across the morose monon. Okay. Because I just typed in Yokthai into subject line in search in. Verve. Because David I like me some Yokthai, and I see here in the notes that Irina you also like Yoko. So, you know, something about this series. Is it looks like I watched season signed fact review the episode review season to last season when it was airy. It is a sweet little so it's interesting. It's not my favorite Yoka show. But it hasn't it has potential in dissenting seasons actually a lot or interesting than I I'm not sure how are you gotten well as of this recording? I'm only on the third episode. I look forward to giving it a little bit more as. As David has mentioned before he likes to give up. He likes to give things about three to four episodes. And I thought that that would be good for this because you're right. It does feel somewhat average like the animation is really nothing all that special. The character designs are are distinct. They're not great. And the dubbing is serviceable. I actually like the fact that there seemed to be a lot of new talents. And yes, I am watching the dumb. But what I like about it is it really seems to showcase some more unique Yokthai than I've seen in some other stories or, you know, similar things, and it's not the best comparison, but something like Moshi or XXX Hollick by clamp seemed to be really good. Comparisons for this. Because it's yet another homeboy goes to school balancing normal life also has to avoid interact with monsters too, much kind of deal. But I'm really enjoying the the unique spin that it's taking on it of how the environment works. It's just this kind of sentient door that opens up think house door and house moving castle a little bit. You know, kind of opens you up to wherever you need to go and the proprietor of the key and is just my favorite characters. So far love these capricious jerks. That are like you homeboy, you're annoying. And I seriously need you to leave right now before some creep up some creature got an okay, well, I'm going to send you to deal with it because you're crybaby, I love that kind of character that has to deal with the protagonist B S so much. Maybe there's there's a psychological reason maybe deal with a lot of anime protagonists. Jack, we discussed this it shouting, the the the Shonen tightness are always bradey it Schoenen.

"Dreamcast and since. Sonic excise oppose adventure? Oh, wow. It's really really been wheels to me like the three has been like the main divisive factor. But maybe that's just me looking at it from an outside. It absolutely is the three D because some people just never want to let go of the idea that sunny. The head shock is only supposed to be one thing. I'm not one of those fans tomato never worked in three D. But sonic has sonic has it sauna caz like come on, sonic, boom. I understand what you're saying here. But it's only tomato pasta MRs fault. It's not sawn expelled. Sonic works three D it does. And I just think that will be entering a valley, and we'll come out of it. Hopefully with less dumb memes. Hopefully, so yeah, David I've been playing some games. And I gotta say right now, I am I have not really touched too, many of the three D properties played a little bit of generations that my friend Patrick's house, but so far it's been mania sonic, one on hiatus for however long sonic to which I also recently put on hiatus because as much as I have been enjoying it a sonic CD really captured my attention when I realized this is the one that had the time travel mechanic and various your future past world's. I really wanted to see this action. And I'm only on the first level still because it is. I don't know. I feel like I've got. Location blindness or something, but it's a lot of fun. The music's been great just it's not a bad franchise. It's just got a lot of bad press for no reason. And it just makes me feel bad. I don't feel bad for the ridiculous corners of the phantom. But I know folks like you David p bull who are just enjoying it for what it is. And they don't deserve this. They absolutely don't I'd say sonic fans. Don't deserve this the sonic fandom as a whole. I'll leave it to you. Or a leave it to you day that you're the one who calls the shots on that. If they deserve it or not. But. I'm like in a lot, you know, Sonoko VA. Of course, I love the character designs and everything from that. And it worked so. Well, looks just like the game. It's charming. I love it. It's no surprise to anyone. Who knows? I loved the position. You know? I might love me some cute Disney style characters. But I also love me. Some some weird stuff that maybe doesn't really fit with that kind of happy motif. So I love the idea of this ferry nineties kind of a static universe. That's just fairy. Man, it's just so mechanical and futuristic and all over the place, and then you also have these great sprawling natural. And and I love it. And then he's classic rubber hose looking characters. It's just all fun. It's really fun. I'm having a good time. David. I'm really glad in. I cannot wait for you to get to sonic, spin spindle.
