"His rear end. I mean, my God, if he was a woman, he would be a superstar, but I'm just telling you. I've never seen anything like it. I mean, he's got the acceleration. He can win at a mile. He can win at 7. And then he runs, but well, you know what finally convinced I won't even lie to you guys. I took the 60 cents on the $2 bet. After I'm listening at one labor talk on Bobby's show Friday last Friday, Bobby. I mean, I took the 60 cents. I was glad to get it. If I bought it, if I bought a CD Bobby and put it at the savings alone, I get 1.75% on my money for a year. You don't think I'm gonna take some money over the track and take 60 cents on every $2. When I know in my heart of hearts, that's the surest thing I've seen this year. They sure thing, Juan, Juan leiva is a breath of fresh air, you know, you don't get a lot of the a lot of the well, if everything goes his way and if he likes it, he just flat out, you know, before the Met mile before the Pacific classic, I asked him the same question, you know, he's trying this. He's doing this. He's trying this. What is your biggest concern? Both times, he said, honestly, nothing. I'm not concerned. Well, there was no doubt in his voice, okay? There was no doubt, bob. When you talk to him, there was no doubt. I mean, I look, I sat there and bet to pick three cold. I bet the double cold and I bet him co. And like I told you, the only horses I give an outside shot employment is either charge it or epicenter. I don't see any four year olds can make this horse. Well, I'd say Charles you brought up the pace in the breeders cup classic. And I do think that that's like and Bobby, you were asking a little bit about, hey, you know, who's the other horse in there? And I think life is good. Is like a true, like, I mean, that's like a little bit. I don't think it's a given that he's going to be in the breeder's cup classic field. First and foremost. But if he is in the breeder's cup classy field, I think he's going to ensure a fast pace. And that track can be a little souped up, you know, on breeders cup weekend. There were some track records in 2020, you know, the breeders cup classic was one wire to wire that year. So it's a track. It's in there. But I'm going to ask you a question, scores. What other track in America is more like keenland? Than del mar. What other track in the world runs the turns more like del Martin keenland does? Yeah, I mean, I mean, can you learn suits this horse like a glove? I'm going to tell you. And Pratt has sat there. You know, he was just, if the horse, you just, you can not, you know what outlaw Josie whale said. UK beta faster gun and you can not beat a faster. You can sit there and beat your brains out. I've seen a million horses. I bet a million races. That horse is fast. He is big, he's fast. He's consistent. I mean, I don't the only thing I don't know if it rains. Can he run in The Rain? Well, I just want to see, one thing about the potential at the classic akeem is that you have a horse in epicenter that has good stalking speed. He has good tractability. And you saw the move he made in the Travers going into the far turn. He's going to be looking to make that same move. And you have a horse in life is good, that if he's out there setting the pace, he's not going to give way going into the far turn. Now he might give way, you know, by the top of the stretch, but he's just not going to collapse like extra hope did. So there is a potential that you could have him like working to catch a horse and then have another horse taken run at him, which is something where if you look at even the his run lines, going into the far turn of all 5 of his races, he's been like at least, you know, he's like two lens clear. Early on the far turn. He's not like facing any like race dynamics yet. So at least I'm not saying he won't pass that with flying colors. But I do think that's like an interesting part of the equation that the breeders cup classic will present to them that, you know, just be the first time for that in his race. I want to ask y'all both this question, Bobby, can you or James bet against this horse with a clear conscience? Can you take your hard earned money and plop it down and say, I think that everything's got to go right. And I think this will work in win. How much do I have to bet? I'll tell you what we'll do. You know, we got a sandwich and a drink that coming up pretty soon, boys. We'll find something. We'll find something. Yeah, we'll find, I almost took you up on that Kentucky Derby winner against the Iowa Derby winner. I know. I mean, apparently I made Vince from buffalo almost drive off the road with that ridiculous prediction. Which I hope I hold true to it. You know, I said it, and I thought it. Thankfully, I didn't lose any money on that proposition. I don't think events is a wonderful guy. I don't think it takes much to make him drive off the road. Okay. But look, I'll leave you guys, but I'm calling you. You know, that is, I mean, wouldn't you love to own just 1% of that racehorse baby? Just 1%.

"Other strongest for the classic whitney right. Yeah if probably is i. Don't really yeah. It would have to be because i think those guys at you know those horses. Even knicks go doesn't run. Well got horses as in there. That can certainly had the board or maybe upset at a price. Yeah okay. I'll go with the classic. I think that are the with the. I think that makes sense. I mean i kind of look back in uk. Obviously the jacket club gold cup. No thanks You can look at obviously We'll mischief for those international The hassle i mean it. The whitney the having the haskell could be productive. I guess could you know midnight. Bourbon will be in the race But yeah it's it's gotta be the whitney. I wanna throw this up here. Real quick the travers. That's not a brutish caprice. Unfortunately so or that would be the answer for sure. Yeah the travers would be an easy answer there because if you're gonna use the if you're gonna use the hassle. Travers is a is a is that might be the most race they continue to screw up that every year. And don't make the travers of rediscoveries. I don't know. I have no explanation. Why that is just especially when you have. The hospital is one like demings. It's crazy like beyond since right to to back up that what division right now. Do you have the best feel for and in the same context the worst o- well i think the philly mayor sprint. You have a pretty good feel for it right. And not only do you think it means gonna cruise but i think at least five been. You've got a couple of really good options. Even if you wanna try to play against the you think are better than the rest. So i think billionaire sprint Certainly have the best deal for the worst. I have to say the juvenile fillies a turf. The big race. Pg johnson was rained off the turf at saratoga so we didn't get a prep there And plus she always had the knowledge of the don't have the knowledge of who's coming over from europe so i'd say at this point juvenile vilis turf. I i have no feel for that one at all. I mean to be fair. That's i feel for that at all like period because that's tough well. The only difference is the juvenile turf. I have a winner in that race. You know so. We did have a horse in annapolis. That ran last week. In togo that i think is going to win. We're the phillies turf. It's nothing stood out me. It always feels like there's not always it feels like a of times these juvenile obviously the friday races. There's one at least one horse or one division that you're just like this feels like is upset is going to happen here and obviously we. It doesn't happen. Always amp pearl was was wasn't that the juvenile wasn't a juvenile fillies turf. I mean obviously that was a you know. But we beat her. at least we. We used her. You could still try. And make cases for drum. Beater golden powell. You're like that's a lock you know so you kind of have to the way these juveniles work on the turf it does make it sometimes difficult I wanted to go back to your thought because that was one of the questions. I had job back to another question. This is this from is as per request per request from magic chubb lagging versus gaming in the in the in the philly in mirror spring. Can we see this. I mean i don't know the answer because trump waggin runs in the dumbest racist like i like trump wagon. But it's like we're at parks were pimlico or backup parks. We lost it parks by the way I have no idea if they're gonna to take the source of the breeders cup or not. I mean i think she's awfully good. But i i. I have no idea if they'll even take her be even if they do. I don't really know what she is one way or the other right. Dude i know. And i had a conversation with him today about about her because he knows you know my number one on the chubb wagon fan club. But it's just like as i would have zero ability to to pick her to be. Gimme especially if they continue to run on these bullshit bullshit races. Now if we see her. Ron at keen lender something as prep. And you say wow but i don't have it in front of me. I'll put a process. But i believe she's had nine of ten starts and never once ran in the stakes race. Now listed stakes. She's never ran into graded stakes. Not even a great three. Like joe run huge and then they rendering another bullshit race and then another dislike at some point you got to test the waters right and he looked back like the big. The big one right is run happy because happy horse that kind of rain bullshit races but then when they went to saratoga eighty one the king's bishop and then the resist regardless of the horse went onto win the beers cup later that year but at that time it was like i don't he's been really good came compete at that level will be good at some point. You got to try right unless they just don't think she's good enough to do it and they're just not gonna try it exactly. You look at the past performances. She's been at park five times. She was at aquidneck. Wants an allowance two races at pimlico race at delaware antics said you did. We lost one of those at parks. Right you know. The doctor theresa gara follow memorial stakes. She lost but she came back and won the roman rachel stakes. So now we're going to face comedian. I don't i don't buy yes. She i don't know like i say i have. No the problem was if if they decide of runner and i don't think they would run her if if she had won't run in some sort of decently step up from these Before the breeders cup but yeah he's like well what if she runs from she's gonna be like twenty five to one and i'm like well. Yeah but i. I mean she would be interesting. If you're gonna look for horses to be give me like she'll be one you'd wanna use just because she's unknown but i certainly don't know if i'm the connections if i'm gonna go be like we're going to go run straight from parks to the british club. I don't know that's the thing i find. It far fetched that she will be there. That's that's one thing. I have no idea. I don't have any knowledge of that one way or the other from connections but it just seems farfetched that we're going to run these races of parks and then go to del. Martin take great one company again me never i'm never been integrated stakes race so fit i mean never and she like you say the laws you know. I think it was eighty surly after after gaining one is like you. You know if cub wag would it came. i dunno. I think she would stayed at the feet. It's like well. She just lost last week. So parks mind you. I i don't know. I don't see it. I think it'd be great to see. I'd love to see it. But they got to get her in one race. Like i don't know what see. What is israel. pink left that for the philly mayor. philly mir sprint. I don't know oh yeah. The is an keelan tober ninth. I would bet she's not there. I would bet that is a tough fast race to go to try. Because that's it. That's i think that's the final philly marriage sprint prep. So it's like well..

"Of racing on nbc. The voice of the breeders. Couple larry comas. Fantastic call fantastic moment. The last time the breeders cup the only time. The breeders cup has been run at del. Mar it returns where the turf meets the surf. November fifth and six in case. You're wondering that's just sixty two days three hours ten minutes away and that means it's time now to welcome the announcer larry almost as we go down the road to the breeders cup time to go down the road to the breeders cup. Larry thanks for the visit my friend. How pumped up are you to get back to california. I'm really pumped up. I can't wait to Be a del mar. I had a chance to visit their Just a couple of weeks ago and Do a little work at Del mar for tv g and it was great to see everybody after calling the racist there the year before and What what a beautiful place right by the pacific ocean. And if you've never been you you just have to go. It's just it's awesome. I remember when the breeders cup decided to go there in twenty seventeen and there was so much talk about the fact that it was such a small venue. And how could breeders cup do this. They're not going to be able to have the crowd they're not going in there. Were so many people that were naysayers going into that event but the racing turned out to be fantastic as it always is the breeders cup and the the breeders cup staff pulled it off. It went without a hitch. Yeah it went really well between the the breeders cup staff and the del mar staff they Did an absolutely amazing job. And and i remember You know being out on the roof calling those rates as they they actually had to build a booth for me Right next to where. Trevor denman called the racist for delmore. I was calling for nbc and They just they put together a perfect setup for me and and the the whole atmosphere there was just great. And i remember getting in and out. Traffic wise wasn't bad. You know everything. Everything went smooth and I think it was one under the under their belt. It'll even better this time around. The i would tend to agree the same thing on our end with the coverage side of it. Everything was very smooth. It was made very easy by the team at del mar and the team at breeders cup and really excited to see the breeders cup. Return there and then of course it comes back to keeneland. And you've had the privilege of being part of that event what. I was hearing keeneland to these smaller tracks. They really do make for a very good fit for a championship day. Like the breeders cup. Absolutely i mean who could forget. The readers cut the keeneland when american pharaoh after winning the triple crown. Goes out the way he did with that win. In the breeders cup classic it was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Keeneland and then we came back and with an ophir last year at the readers got with covert going on And keeneland put on a great show for us to was obviously very limited amount of people there because of kovin but man it was it was special to be back at keeneland and those are two iconic venues for sure. Bill martin the breeders cup. They know what they're doing. You have so many great memories of daytime horses. You've called and big time races. That you've been part of the announcer. Certainly the kentucky. Derby is at the top of the list. But you think about the breeders cups that you've been part of. Do you have a couple a couple races or calls or breeders cup moments that have stood out to you and maybe a little bit more than some others over the years. Well for sure. American pharaoh as we. I was just saying his breeders cup. Classic has got to be the very top I mean that was just such an such an iconic moment and and i had been through the whole year with him so it made it that much more exciting but Another one that comes to mind was when muccio macho man won the breeders cup classic and The race was a lot closer than i thought it was. I given him this definitive Maybe a little bit even over the top call of his victory in that race and then i watched the first replay and we'll take charge and made that late bit on the outside and watching it live. It didn't look close. And gary stevens even gave a little victory Salute there when they hit the wire watch watched the first replay. And i'm like oh no. This is a lot closer than i thought. And then i watched it again and like oh did i just call the wrong winner of the class i was. I was sweating. Bullets up there. And then the and then mutual macho man number came up on the board and there was this feeling under relief that then i remember that night. Cj prison At dinner and he showed me the photo finish. And i almost got sick right there at the table. Even though it was even though it was over. And i. I said i would never call a photo like that again in a big race and then back at santa anita beholder in songbird. Hit the wire together. In the in the breeders cup distaff and i called beholder the winner over songbird and That might have even been closer than japan. And we'll take charge so i wish i wish i hadn't done it because it probably not some years off my life but luckily i was Right in the end so that that was good. But there's there's so many mike. It's the breeders cup championship after championship at stake. And it just doesn't get any better. Are you expecting to have the same setup at del mar this time around. And if so is that a good vantage point to call tight finish if they're well we know there will be one. Is it a good vantage point. It's not ideal with a little bit before the finish line. And i don't know where else they could possibly put me. I think i'll probably be in that spot. It's perfectly fine. Viewing great But it's called as far as calling a really tight photo It's not as good as a place like saratoga. Where i you know you can really see when they hit the wire one but You know you know. Some of these places are a little skewed of vantage wise but Del martin it's not. It's not perfect for me but it's good enough and if it's too close to call it's too close to call. There are so many people that are listening right now. Larry that will hear larry calmness. Watch komo's on tv. They'll hear your voice. They'll hear.

"Very good travers. The weekend friday race fans new york show gays day back at saratoga. We're coming from vegas. And they one of the nfc later this afternoon yesterday after we wrapped up at noon really a nice day racing. And i'm really intriguing contest. Fourteen races eleven had to be played and it made four as we kind of speculated a compact leaderboard and a lot of actually a lot of familiar names that succeeded nineteen players work their way in for seats starting today and the winner. Joe castelo joe goss delo. Not only was he already double qualified for today and tomorrow then to sunday but he's double qualified for twenty twenty two already. He's already gotten those two seats knocked out so he was playing for tour points and and for cash and that worked out. Okay thirty two thousand twenty five dollars to joke stelo. David wolf got A spot for january of next year by finishing second but he also picked up. Twenty one thousand and keith. Not pskov who made a kind of a middle move and grabbed a you know a nice wrong on the leader board of the top and then played well to the wire he wins ten thousand six seventy five and and he did utilize a spot for today other witters of seats into today. Marc will guard marcucci. Danny chevenez bear. Mike mcevoy mike foster ready della carry the sore mark. Would low ski was an early leader. Wendy long now being ben Oh my gosh. forget his His he was with us Was that last year two years ago. I'm going to forget his name. He goes by more more common link. Joe ruffalo chris padre. That's rock edwards. Darren yarwood robert dawson. The david souter and greg calawag and also tom blosser and sarah winer But they both used their win. I two thousand twenty two so a lot of a lot of players utilizing the last chance next chance and in fact because of qualifications that were already in place quite a quite a number of beneficiaries. Because darren yarwood would've been had everybody utilize a seat for this year. He would have been the cutoff. And instead robert dawson. David souter greg galloway. They might not have known immediately that they were going to get in but They did so. We're gonna try that. We'll probably talk to joe costello during the during the show later today. Excuse me this is going to be. I don't know what the what the status what advisory. I can give you on on the voice. It's the craziest thing i i mean. It's just it actually was worse Yesterday after we got off the air. So i guess i can't complain. We'll just do the best. We can john tucker john helping with The i guess. The travis stoned method lots of lots of honey and lemon and see. I banged out half a dozen of them yesterday. So as soon as the as soon as i got some coffee here but as soon as the hot tea service comes I may. I may step away here and there For for some d. service. What was fun about yesterday. Was the the prices because You know with with only fourteen races you thought you know. How volatile could the scenario but Particularly right at the end and with the del mar races There was a fourteen to one shot platinum equity in the third race at del mar. How about for those of you. That that follow tom. Quigley quigley's corner quigley from the paddock at del mar sends out a missive. Here's a horse. A six year old gelding. That's one a bunch of times and he looks best in the paddock. Sixteen claimer goes off as the longest shot on the board wins like a champ so quickly He did not just for not just useful. The at that santa anita helping out Del martin unbelievable Steve knapp for this one With edwin maldonado. And even the nightcap adele maryati a ninety two shot for make that an eleven to two shop peter miller off peter cop and the of those two last raises and that third race at del mar was a mandatory. So that that. And i'm sure i'm sure the leaderboard fill you know the new board. I put up the link on twitter. All you have to do for those of you not on twitter and you want to follow along today tomorrow. Sunday n. T. r. a. dot com. It's on the front page. There's no you don't have the backslash anything or go looking leaderboard etcetera etcetera just n. t. r. a. dot com. Scroll down a little bit. The new leaderboard is really cool. It Not only gives you a real time literally as soon as racist go official. He'll see the standings you'll see the leaderboard and you'll see a change. There's even eros up and down showing what direction the various various players going. And the other Fun aspect is it records the mandatory which are easy to follow. But it gives you the optionals the electives and so you see what players are holding bullets really a nice enhancement and you the the leader leaderboard.

"She sat off faster fractions and kicked on home. No well no match ramallah thought and the ashland and the kentucky oaks. I thought she ran really well. Sneaky well in the latter. She was traveling sweetly between an inning. Among horses on the second turn and into the upper stretch look like she was really gonna fire. She got to the outside. She couldn't kick with malla thought. And runner-up search results but she outgained clairiere air for the show. She also finished ahead of crazy beautiful. She also finished ahead of maricopa. She can run with these sources on her best day and her best beyer speed figure came into longest distance. she's ever raced a mile and an eighth. I think a mile and a quarter is going to be very good for her if you think that the aura of invincibility surrounding thought was tarnished somewhat in the coaching club american oaks. And if you need to see mara kuching do it again. Here's an alternative. I think we'll secret might outrun her price. She's fifteen to one on the morning line. Mark assertions game plan is up next. Find a drroof.com. That's the del. Mar oaks great. One over nine furlongs obviously three year old fillies going global the deserving favourite in this race. But i and. I'm going to bet on closing remarks. Drawn on the rail for trainer carla gains and jockey. Umberto wistfully this phillies listed at six to one in the morning line. I'm hoping for a couple of points higher than that. I think fluffy socks. Who's four to one on line is going to take more play than that and leaving some room for a couple of prices to go up hopefully closing remarks among them. Although i guess that anyone who bothered to go back through the form which see that this phillies had trouble trip after troubled trip throughout our turf career. She's already been close to the equal of going global and she's going to be several times the price. I think you could argue in a couple of races that she would have like at least come down to a head or so decision of going global with better luck or maybe even one if you had reversed the trips that they got in those races and there are two races in her previous warm cycle her most recent one where she was badly compromised at the gate and then in the jimmy durante which last fall which fluffy sox one were closing. Remarks had absolutely no chance when block behind a wall of horses to the extent that the jockey didn't even persevere with her the last half along she was giving given a nice freshening for a couple of months. And i'd like what's going on with the comeback run over seven for a long dirt because she showed enough pace in there and the buyer speed. Your wasn't much but if you watch the replay. She traveled really nicely in that race..

"So. They're kind of other than new york. Which is aqueduct. Belmont saratoga that would be a circuit other than that. They're the circuits thing is kind of died off. I mean it used to be you know. In washington we had play fair yakima and lawmakers and so it was a year round circuit for horsemen in washington because they could literally one all year round and stay in washington When a couple of those closed they still had portland meadows in the winter and emerald downs in the summer. And so that made up a circuit. So there's a lotta these like unofficial circuits now You'll hear you'll see a lot of people that run at canterbury run at turf paradise. They kind of go opposite seasons You know law. They work well as far as a plain field. You know a lot of the same kind of levels of horses and stuff. And so i feel like the days of like the official circuit kinda gone. Southern california's still has a circuit. Its sanity del martin and lasalle but before it. Was you know santa anita than hollywood park in del mar than hollywood park. And then say insanity then hollywood and so they they always had a circuit kind of like that in texas still kind of has a circuit. New mexico still has a circuit. But there's a lot of people who you know. A lot of the people that run at tampa. We'll go run at monmouth or here colonial and then go back and run tampa because they they run opposite season so while they're not an official circuit. You know a lot of our gate. Crew guys and ray south people from tampa and so while it's not an official circuit because it's kind of an opposite time of year it makes sense to You know for pecos. People need to work all year round right. Most people can't afford to take three or four five six months off and so yes. The days of the official circuit aren't very much less know. There was the chicago racing circuit. Obviously going to change greatly. Here you know if if and when arlington closes But for years there was three tracks. Their sportsman's hawthorne and there was arlington. And you could. You could be a horse person or a jockey or a race collar. Whoever and you know work you're out or mostly year round In one area. You know. John dewey who calls the races at arlington calls fairgrounds. And there's a lot of fairgrounds in arlington overlap. There's not as much now but there was and a lot of the same folks would make that trip. That kind of made up a little bit of circuit. So you know. I mean like i have a circuit. But that's not a racing circuit. It's just my announcer circuit Judy also asked what is type horse. That just essentially means any horse that I think wins or places in a stakes race. And there's win so when you're looking at a page in a sales catalogue you will hear anytime. Somebody wins the. If a horse had won a steak it'll be printed in dark. Black type fought whatever Like bold print and so you know they only though right specifically what steak you want if you want stake race and so That's why it's called black type because it's in the sales catalogue bolted black stakes race. Have i ever considered dabbling in harness racing. News and betting. Now i mean we. We used to have a show that was kind of opposite of mine. The postal with mike and mike About america that was kind of our harnessed show and once in a blue moon. We have folks from harness on. We've had dave brower on. We've had wally that gabe on several times. it's june harnesses.
