California swimmer describes seeing shark attack her
"A Southern California swimmer is recounting her encounter with a shark I'm Ben Thomas with the story I felt a huge like a really hard hit Wouldn't you try it Was resting in the water off the coast of del mar California north of San Diego on her Friday morning ocean swim It hurt and it pushed me up and out of the water She tells KG TV I saw it on my legs And then it shook once kind of like a dog and then it let me go Fortunately you had a friend swimming with her He saw the water agitate he saw me kind of twist around and then he saw the fin in the back of the shark He helped her back to shore where lifeguards and emergency crews treated her and rushed her to a hospital She's being treated for puncture and laceration wounds Surprisingly I'm feeling pretty good I don't know if I just haven't processed everything yet The shark is believed to have been a juvenile white shark known to swim in the waters off the delmar shore I'm Ben Thomas

Yes, and we've actually talked about this before this was originally slated to be a hotel. It was and so it's an interesting site. So for those of you that are local to San Diego and who spend a lot of time in north county, I think probably Danielle and I do quite a bit. And both of us are dog owners. So this is right above dog beach. In delmar, it's a really nice site. It's a bluff site, right? So it's a 7 acre site that sits up on the bluff. The proposed density is 259 units. So this site does have a history as Danielle said, this was originally slated to be a high end boutique hotel. And through measure G, which was so it was put on the ballot to be approved and it got shot down. Yeah. And so Carol was here is the owner of this site. And she is a longtime real estate person. Here in San Diego has a development background. It worked for both zephyr and she also worked for the Robert Greene company. The hotel was called marisol and the voters defeated that in 2020. And so the site has sat vacant. And so what's happened now? Well, the state has put down mandates for new affordable housing. So AB 1398 and then Senate bills three 30 and number 8, all three of

I genuinely bounced around taking five or six forces in this race. But i'm pretty confident about the horse ended up with in this race in That's a horses coming out of an eighth-place finish and it's not very often. You're you're fairly confident about an eighth place finisher and agreed to but you know that. That horse is going to be crossfire. Hurricane for michael mccarthy and now this is a horse who is only making his third start in the united states and this is a horse who ran poorly in the irish darby back last year but before that was undefeated going into the race ran poorly there then ran poorly in september group. Three over in europe so Was off was off until his start the us which was the shoemaker mile. And i think he wants a little bit more than the mile. And that was also off of a pretty sizable off. Two strikes against him in that race and also strike three smooth like straight is one of the better horses going a mile in the united states. So that that was a race where he was not in the best position to win. And then you know the his eighth place. Finish in the del mar handicap looks a lot worse on paper than it actually was was only beaten a combined two links By all the horses in there. And if you remember back to that episode. Eric talked about how say the word was one of the easiest holds of of the time that we've been doing buy-sell whole you know crossfire. Hurricane was kind of in that same time same type of situation caught inside and you know having to go very wide and just everyone in the field being so compact so adding all those things together the fact that he did have some good form over in europe and this is going to be his third start in the us and finally has some consistency in terms of running in terms of getting runs underneath him in the united states so is going to be a big shot but this race where you can take a big shot. I don't really like to many of the favorites in this race in the wind. Why not take your shot in for him to be going. One inside across fiber came with another pricing parador. That is the franklin simpson steaks and another race very wide open. it's another turf sprint. So turf spur. Take your shot. I'm gonna take my shot in this race And that's with another twenty one morning line horse omaha city a horse who ran a very strong race Last out behind golden pal. Who i know. Golden powell went over to europe and bombed over there. But you know you. You can't say that golden pow wouldn't be a very heavy favorite in this race against this group of horses. And i know he beat omaha city by three lengths and those are very strong effort of omaha city ran behind golden pal and that was to straight really nice efforts for him. A second or a win. Excuse me in an allowance at gulfstream and he kinda bounced around the allowance and listed black type races at gulfstream Exclusively at gulfstream until that that effort at saratoga that graded stakes placing so. It's a bit of a shot here. But he ran a very strong effort behind golden pailin on his best he can run. He can run in the money you know. He's a two time He i shouldn't say time. He's a black type winner An allowance winner and then a graded stakes placed source. So he has some good runs underneath him. He also had some not so good runs underneath him. But like i mentioned it's kentucky downs. It's a turf sprint. Not all these. All these sources have had their good days bad days and you can never really completely one hundred predict one hundred percent predict them. So i'm going to take my shot once again in this race with omaha city also taking a shot with a european europeans act kentucky gals but miss By fifty to one morning line This is a breeders cup. Obviously you know he had a just a tough ride tough trip future. He's clearly a lot better worse than that. You should be decent going to turn this. Well i think. He'll be bouncing back in the american sarah from the so just a lot of positives i can be down from papa. Cap this performance never gonna move on We we do have some reasons to preview from this week. No major circuits but Thankfully for kentucky down so they have a bunch of six and seven figure purses that attract some very very solid horses to two races that they have at their meat. So we're gonna get into the five grade states that they have upcoming on the eleventh of september and the first race that will get to is the mit lady. Sprint at kentucky downs in this race is going to be the first of creating a pattern for me Which is not picking any. I'm only picking one worse at a single digits on the morning line and that's the morning line favorite in the second race but We'll get to my my pin. This reason that's yes it's ginger. This source is coming on a two straight stakes. When she won the preview race for this at ellison she also wanna stay graced chicken fried at lonestar on the twenty of june and then a second place finish in an allowance race on the third of june at churchill downs also and then going back even further a couple wins in allowance company at the fairground. So she's been keeping good company and having good form this year and at kentucky downs. It's random and i'm going to try. To err tried to do last week and we preview the kentucky downs raises and just go bombs away in most of the races. Oh you know you can literally go anywhere with the with these races. You definitely can't undergoing with slightly favorite in here venetian harbor. I've just you know. I always thought she was going to do our best. Very very nice win in. The yellow ribbon passed up the john. Maybe excuse me at del mar which was last weekend on saturday. I do believe that race was but very nice effort for her there only one loss in her career and that was the second integrated stakes at keeneland. So this is a very talented horse. Michael cinemas hot her in great form throughout the course of her career. And you know the the two wins and really the fact that she was able to win on that kind of a layoff From november to july of a twenty two thousand twenty twenty one respectively. And this is. This is the one favourite that i feel really good about so. I'm going to be picking her here. That being said it was very tempting to not go with cheese. On the warpath she's on the warpath is in some pretty good form. So you know. If i were to give out a horseshoe she's on the warpath could get back down to shorter than she has a morning line. But i was really tough to not pictures on the warpath in this race. And i'm also going to be going with princess grace I i loved the richer terrific there. I have no reason to jump authorship. She's five percents only loss by a half length. She's probably one of the most underrated assistant dino's underrated horse in the country. Right now and she's done a l- she's done really nothing wrong so pretty straightforward picture that being said I think he'd on the warpath could be interesting and she'd shifty she offer saffy joseph She should be controlling speeding here and she done some pretty good run. Her loss last time out was to regal glory in any would have done a lot of work in their career. So that might be interesting price. If you're looking for an alternative and now we're gonna move onto the grade three Fan duel tur- turfs spring along the run happy turf spring The this is a typical american turf. Sprint the odds are all over the place. I don't really know why we're getting fast boat at ten to one on the morning line. I can't imagine that that's going to stay where it is. Sure he may not be the may may not go off as the favourite in here because casa secrete is great one winner from this field. But that's a very nice price. Get anywhere near. Tend to go with that with this worse because it's not very often you get a horse. He's got three stakes. Wins and i know that you can. You may may be able to question some of them but as effort in in in the twin spires turf sprint and detroi- Those certainly outweigh is one poor effort in the grade. One jaipur at belmont. So this is this is a regime. Seventeen different ways. I was very tempted. Also call last minute audible chewing gum. Because i did liked chewing gum a little bit going into the jaipur stakes. And i'm going to give that out there because i almost like chewing gum in the jaipur and him and casa creed rant ran want to in that race. So i'm gonna give that out there. Just in case chewing gum does wins that i can feel a little bit better for for not having picked him on top gear but fast boat is going to be my pick on top in this race and for me spilling most competent pick of the weekend. "Murray absolutely extremely well in this race did not translate to how he ran in here so overall this week and there was another bob baffert two year old. Eric did not mention on maidan watching. That was not without that was not without error. You know. i don't know. If eric is gonna touch on cornish. But at least for me. I was not really overly impressed. With any of bob baffert two year olds at that ran this week in overall in terms of colts. Not really super impressed with any of them so far yet. The west coast juvenile are not that strong. As instant i think there's so the wings and corneas better than about bamford where we saw in the juvenile and then of course commission alexa albeit class on being one forbidden kingdom. Tonight's one for richer. Gambella couple other horses that could easily step in and do some decent things but You know. I think papa capture ride cost in this race more than anything you just five entire way. He could've come through the joe rogan leaden and it was just messy writer fighting for the entire way and he ultimately cost in the race. I i took advantage of that wholeheartedly. And i was the only works he had to beat because murray through an absolute stinker Because of that that'd be one horse and him square but does that mean i'm going to use pine hor per pinal pinehurst. "Is the best female. Racehorse are on the turf going these rob distances and you know it's unfortunate that there's not really too much in terms of Races at this kind of level before the breeders cup. But you know we obviously know that. She's going to be going to the breeders cup and you know. With the breeders cup filly and mare turfing lengthened two mile and three eighths and this effort being a strong as it was a you know. I don't know i wouldn't say that. She couldn't win the breeders cup of tea or the breeders cup filling turf. She is in a very strong position to be able to win that race. It's obviously going to depend on what europeans come over but this was a. I was expecting her to win this and it was expecting it to look good but this exceeded my expectations. And now it's pretty difficult to do for horse that i picked in her in all four of her straight races that she has been in so You know the another horse at the sky's the limit for her. And i really hope do that. The the euro's do kind of take it easy on her because she's just been such a great horse to watch. It would be nice to see her. Take home the eclipse award. That i think she deserves Even though if a horse like santa barbara would run into billion mayor. Turf should take it. And yes santa barbara would deserve it but it would nice. It would be nice to see one of our horses take only eclipse award and warlike goddesses absolutely american that deserves. Take on that award and i hate to be. I was right. Belmont park's jockey club gold cup but and this is very disappointing. This race was moved to saratoga with the promise of you know putting it in a better timetable for these handicap horses and at least this year certainly was not. That goal was certainly not accomplish. So hopefully i'll long-term the mission of making this race. The elite breeders cup classic. Prep that it used to be is successful but definitely me someone who does have a lot more loyalty to belmont. Park and belmont park's races was annoying to see. But i'm not gonna say anything more about that. Because i've said it every single time we've talked about this race and i'm i'm sick of saying i'm sure some people sick of talking about it. But we gotta talk about horseshoe has proven himself going into this coming out of this. Recent erica number both very skeptical on max player. We both picked four zero in the field recording. And you can tell how well that worked out and everything else in this race. Everyone else's racist pretty average. Happy saver ran. His hobbies aver race. "But you know just enough. Enough cannot be said about a central quality. He's just such. He's the best in my opinion. The best non triple crown winner that we've had since kirwin and you know that's not the that that's putting him ahead of some very strong horses but i- gen- genuinely believed that and now it's just been really fun to watch him throughout the course of his career because all he does is win all he does is find a way absolutely absolutely. I can't think of a more adaptable horse. In my lifetime. Wanting racing horseshoe no matter the circumstances In terms of setup does really in terms of race setup or that can do this horse can do. He can send a close second. We've seen it in like a bluegrass and the breeders church where there's no pace in the race. And somebody needs to be the enforcer to ensure you know equality raise for themselves. He he can do. You can go sit that close second. And there's a lot of pace in c can take back. He did it in the south west and the breeders cup juvenile and right here midnight. Bergen should've been loans. Beat any other horse is in this racing at midnight bourbon midnight bourbon race by sticks but essential qualities. Able to be that enforcer that pace presser and he's able to do the things he does find a way that's all his horse does it has been so fun to watch and at this point. Let's just. We're not gonna have time to recap. But i will just mention the winners of those racism. We'll move onto the closing weekends at saratoga del mar. We'll start off with saturday at saratoga feature to grade one. Races amongst other graded stakes races mentioned two winners of the other graded stakes races at the end of talking about the great ones at saratoga but another horse that has been very very fun to watch this year and it's just been so consistent. Consistency is something that i really enjoy seeing. This is a race that before we were before the race when we were previewing this in the failed record we thought that this was the shakiest race that we're like god. It's going to face all year. We're talking about the flower bowl. The first of the two great ones. We thought that this was the shakiest race that she was going to to run and in terms of pay set. But i said that it doesn't matter with her because she's gonna find a way every single time that find a way factor and you can't rate that in horse but we're like goddess has it. She had it in the races that ran in earlier in the year in the orchestra and the bewitch stakes and pays set up didn't matter with warlike goddess in this race. You know they. They went to the russians. Were relatively moderate on paper but it didn't honestly did not. I did not matter with her. This is just warlike oddest showing. How good of a female race where she is. And you know you look at that one. Start in the very one which was a ton of things went wrong for her. It doesn't matter a that racist irrelevant. She is a four. she's won four straight rated stakes races now. A grade one winner and there is no debate anymore. She is the best female. "Road is another horse. It is pretty difficult to figure out. And she's probably not a grade one winner caliber at this point. But you know former grade one winner. She won the alabama stakes back in two thousand nineteen. So this is. This is affiliate who hurt rather mayor. Now who has had talent for a very long time and is great one caliber so triscuit. Beat some very good horses on paper in this race and obviously the other big story is as we now and finally found out. What kind of horse was skydiver is. And it's really disappointing that she has not held up that form from the preakness last year because it was really exciting to horse like her and i. I don't know a person if you ask people genuinely i don't know a person that didn't enjoy watching swiss skydiver go on the campaign that she went on last year for whatever the reasons are you know that's not for us to get into It's just not been that way for skydiver. And i think that she. I will and i do think that she could get another graded stakes when if she were to go out to california and running this in united states. I think she could win that because she's already beaten those horses and she she beat the horse. It finished second to her and the beholder mile in this race so that that's about it for her though she'll probably stick around run in the breeders cup again and then this will be for her and one final note from this race. I'd just have to say this because one of the big things for me is one of the big things that really annoys me is when horses are not put in places to win either connections and that was absolutely the situation with harvey's a little oil. I have said this to a couple of people. I never wanna see. Harvey's a little touched the dirt again unless it's in the post parade walking to the turf course this issue. I have no idea what the logic was in putting her in this race. And i never wanna see her on on the dirt again. She's she's a great one winner on turf. I know that she's had good runs on dirt. Pitchy has been. She's been pretty good on turf this year. It's not like that. She's fallen off at a certain level on turf. She can still run in graded stakes races and finish. Well those i never want to see her on the turf again. That's my final. Take away from this race. In allison is a lot to unpack digest from such a big important race but for me. There was one thing that i am constantly taking away from this this race personal incident. That's that truth. Is one hundred percent able racehorse especially come your just time. And here's what you obviously. We've seen the incredible things she's done. I mean she's throwing down with a kentucky oaks winner cheaters double Another kentucky oaks winner. And two-time bruce cup winner in Girl and she's she's beaten these horses in impressive fashion. Done all these incredible things but at the same time Well she's been. This was probably her worst performance this year. And you know. She had a runway on allegiance able to rather easily all of those things or when time came searching hold on but he held off the likes of of royal flag and bonnie south and dunbar wrote good good graded stakes level phillies sure but are those horses we really think are going to be The top contenders come burgess tub distaff time are those horses that She should really be afraid. No because cheaters the devils going to be there. Now that's going to be there and you automatically throw those to win and you you put them in this race and you'd give them the scenario That which was going through here and dose to and at least one of them definitely now thought and then maybe she there's that will those two absolutely will would beat her given given this scenario when you just put them in instead of a couple of other horses because just the way this reset up. His she should have won. Wanted for fun does like she has other races. In instead she only one by diminishing half length even retainer said you know before this. I thought maybe we could do the beatles classic but only beating this quality of fillies and mares by a half length or were definitely not breeders classic quality and that alone tells me that he can't that that this philly cannot smash should say could not beat amount that she imagine the you know i know of course in ogden phipps which was able to go out and get advantage over earlier kind of put the race away there but if you don't think launch ru learned from that experience in isn't going to You know really take it to her the next time they meet. Then your certainly missed. I two because they're not going to let her get away with easily. She is a target and because she's a target not only the shares that. Oh but anybody that has ingram. Otamendi speed is going to take interest early on. That's only going to benefit those horses coming from behind. Light the three that we saw in this race but more importantly a league mouth at or a clear or something like that and they're going to take advantage of that and they're going to beat you on the spot so i'm taking my stance now i don't think triscuit breeders cup. Distaff winner Just purely based off what. I saw this couple of weekends ago. She's she's good but she's she's definitely beatable Based off these results. I know it's a big stance to take on such a good horse a couple months.

"The the most important thing was as he did get. His breeders. cup did get his eclipse award and now he has stakes race named after him. I'll start with more Before i get onto to the big show from this from the forego but obviously very sad to see You know. I think we all would have much rather seen with win. I think more than anything. Just thankful that he died. That wasn't worse because i think Initially a lot of people could have. I'm imagine being at the track. We'll put the worst Given how it all went down. I'm just very happy to hear more than anything. He's going to be. Okay he's going to be able to live out his life however the the connection shoes as opponents they just slap out a pasture and call it. Good whatever works is happy to see the source Able to retire. I guess you could say safe and sound But it was fun to watch over the years and thankfully we still have some veterans in the sprint division to keep during the Fire who Continues to be entertaining more than just how we run but i guess now he likes to buy horses as well We saw that a couple of years ago he was the one that got Savaged by that that horse. I can't remember the name of top. My head in the gallon bob but a couple years ago but you. I guess you just asked that on the album who ran a huge race earned my respect yard. He added but he yard even more so just bouncing back the way he had a you know his runs in the breeders cup sprint. The to buy in not not to his own accord is just poor. That was the jackie's warrior. Life is good showing you know there are in. My opinion are not any superlatives left that you can describe jackie's warrior and i know that there are going to be people who disagree disagree with me with this especially given what we saw from flight. Line this past weekend. But i think jackie's warrior on talent is the best horse in america. i think he's better than essential quality. I think he's better than any of the other older horses. Whether they're on dirt or turf. I think he is purely the best horse in united states. Right now and you know. He's not gonna win the three-year-old eclipse award. I understand that it goes to the distance horses and that. That's not for us to debate now whether or not that's valid. You know just to appreciate the effort that this horse had. He was thrust into a new position. Life is good was out there. Sort of free running and eric's going to get into the ride. That mike smith hat and how that was not a great ride. But you know just for jackie's warrior to be able to be in the position where there was a horse who was clearly just having everything his own way and then he was just able to come get him and then jackie's warrior came back at him in the stretch. You know it looked like he might have gone on to win the race by link. Three quarters of a link to to maybe linked then life is good. Came back and jackie's was able to hold on win by an act but it was a very close race very very good race. Both these horses are going to be forces going forward in our field recording. I had said that. I think the malibu was at life is good as pretty much guaranteed to win. Can't necessarily say that now with what we saw from flight line but if life is good as there even if even flight line is there that's going to be a match up that i hope we see for for one thing but i think that he will have every opportunity to win that race just like a flight line would have every opportunity to win that race and one final note the third and fourth place finishers in this race are not going to get the respect that is due to them and that's understandable because they were beaten by nine combined links of for following cnn following see was beaten an additional two and a quarter lengths or excuse me drain o'clock was beaten an additional two and a quarter links by following. See but you know. Those are both horses that the minute they get away from running against these absolute rockets They're gonna they're gonna win graded stakes following a horse that you know. After jackie's warriors retirement which were suing is coming at the end of the year. Todd pletcher is gonna find racist for him and drain the clock. There will be graded stakes for this horse to win Sappy joseph carter with mischievous alex this year and you know i think drain. The clock is definitely a better horse. In mischievous alex. And as long as the carter doesn't get downgraded which i don't know i'm not here to predict that but as long as the carter doesn't get downgraded to agree to. I think during the clock will be a great one winter next year. I am in a predicted that this far out that he will win the carter in twenty twenty two but those are both horses. That are going to win. Graded stakes races going forward. Don't let the the nine plus linked margin of defeat for the two of them Mislead you these are not bad horses. They're just running against to the best three olds. We've seen in terms of talent in the last ten years totally agree on on that point there jack jacking then. Nobody to word is just he. He comes to work every single race in. It doesn't matter what happens. He's going to run huge even when he was losing races. They have to sleep in the same bed and they wake up like spooning each other and as soon as they realize that they are like embracing each other. They both dash out of bed and like are like. Oh my god grows. They didn't they didn't even have sex the way that parliament start did but just made physical contact just like touched each other and then yeah and then but they're like flipping out that they even like were hug like holding each other. So yeah. I really liked it. They just very normalized like a couple friends like getting freaky on vacation with each other. Yeah and they don't like it's not a deal but they don't talk about it like they referenced. This specific thing together in bed you know and Just like they were talking about it the same way that they talk about their their other vacation adventures. No nothing weird. Yeah they acknowledged it happened but like they're like this isn't anything where like grossed out by shamed of so. Yeah there's like no and now we change the subject to sea shells or whatever. Yeah turtles turtles. Yeah and i like how the the way that they deal with conflict to felt really good. Because that's like another area where i feel like you could get out like a lesser. Writing team could get super lazy with how women are in conflict are so often written in these kind of like broad tropes but i liked it i thought like you know it. They are on these solo journeys. And i think that i didn't even really register this the first time i watched it. But it's like oh that is a part of their journey. As like having to be less reliant on each other and like growing as individuals and not being so you know codependent in in some ways but also still having that friendship and when they find out they've been lying to each other. I love that. They can't live like that being established at the beginning and so funny at talking club. But you know it's like they're obviously pissed off at each other but then they have these two beautiful forgiveness scenes after the kulan again. When they think that they're gonna die before trish rescues them so cute and he also like they have their. I think this is what you are. Also saying jamie like they have their fight. They do express the full range of their anger and their sense of betrayal. But it's not in not in lake as catfight way. You know it's like how real human beings engage in serious conflicts when there's a portrayal of trust right which is cool because it happens in between all of this like ridiculous shit. We're like adult alligators the alligators. I love the scene where it right right before their fight like they're tied together and they're like slowly escaping and jamie dornan just like doesn't notice because he's talking about himself. Let's over money. Well that's one of the things that i absolutely love about this movie. Which is you get this like extremely goofy movie. Where i know. It's not just a goofy movie. It's an extremely goofy movie. Agree where women are the leads because like a lot of comedy movies where a woman is the lead or where women are the lead characters. They are often rom coms and a lot of wrong. Cons are not actually very funny there. I said it like this movie actually has jokes. And it's like a rare example of an absurdist comedy that is female driven. Because most absurdist comedy. Which i think is like my favorite sub-genre of comedy like i love absurd ism there so male dominated not a lot of room has been made for women in this sub genre. At least like not much in like in the mainstream. So i love this is just like it's so silly you get to see women being very goofy. A lot of goofy silly things happen in the movie. And i was just eating it up. Yeah i agree there another Another thing that i i liked about. I don't know the star and edgar triangle like the their dynamics authors. Like so much interesting stuff there. Because it's like just other things that could have happened but then didn't is like we've talked about this before but like edgar is never creepy. He's usually just listening. And maybe just like not the smartest person in the world and doesn't always pick up on other people's signals and on top of that like it not secrets where like marvin star basically on the same sort of date with edgar. They both like. I don't know like they pursue him extremely directly like without a hint of like insecurity or just show up like doing the splits. Hang out doing yoga poses outside is doing. I loved that. Like it's just so funny. I really i mean first of all i love the. He's like nine or ten years younger than them. Yeah like jamie dornan is than any momoa kristen wigs so again we talk about the age gap in hollywood a lot where there's again just a tendency to have aging men and they're like female co stars will be like twenty five years younger than them and it's rare to see like an older woman and a younger man so appreciated the you have that just representation on screen and they don't it either. They're not like whoa cougar. Right yeah yeah right. Yeah it's just normalized and then i really like win when barbas talking to edgar on. They're like little walkabout around vista del mar and she's like. Oh you know what. Actually you've set me free like our night together like that. Set me free. But that's all this was. She realizes that she just needed like this sex romp to like be the catalyst that gets her to realize that she like can go off and do fun stuff. Yeah but that. She's not like pining after him. Maybe the same way that like kristen wig is more interested in him romantically. I like that touched. Her heart fair right exactly happen. That doesn't happen. So i like even though they're like connection between the three of them initiates in this sexual encounter for all of them all at the same time in this threesome but the like there isn't like a love triangle. After that you know yeah even though it does seem like they will continue all three of them. We'll be living together back in soft rock nebraska. Which i i love that. Honestly be the dream life. Repeat this morning Meanwhile barb and star are pretending to have forgotten all about edgar from the night before but they secretly both want to see him again. so first. Barb sneaks out to go talk to him but then she realizes that her and anger aren't really meant to be and she values her friendship with star more than a man so she goes back to her and stars room but then star goes out to meet up with edgar has a very similar if not identical conversation to the one that barb and at girgis had but then he and star have sex which is a secret. that star keeps from barb. I do love that. Does that like barbas. Such a champion. She's like. I can't do this like i need to respect my friend and then stars like I only twice. Yeah i like. I feel like we skipped over. The they also talk to each other in the threesome. Because that was a brave yet is like they had sex together. The first night the reference effects it was. I really was excited to talk about this one with you because you wrote something about it a little view in appreciation of it for the new yorker that i really love and i felt really tapped into some of the things that are special about this movie. I'm going to read a tiny bit of it back to you. Maybe that can inspire conversation so this comes early in what you're writing about it when you talk about the transition from what i would think of as the setup the first twenty minutes or so where we beat barbara starr in their hometown of soft rot nebraska and how it then it then transitions to town of title of vista del. Mar in florida. And so you're right. There solid jokes from the get-go but it's not clear right away. What the movie is up to our. Wigan molo denizens of los angeles where they first met as part of the l. Sketch comedy troupe. The groundlings taking the piss out of flyover over forties then skipping ahead of bit is talking about the the that transition you say but as barbara starr unfolds. It's quirky heroines fuel. It's an important movie. it's still a very funny movie. Yeah we're we're we're ready to get out again and people were talking like in line that this was the first time they've been out in a long time so i think it's good the combination of the vaccine's rolling out at the same time that obviously that's having an effect on the numbers here they're saying that our numbers are really good So the the numbers are. I think we've now gone to six cases per hundred thousand. I don't remember exactly what we're we're so it is saying in here and this by the way was out of the. Ut okay so union tribune and they are saying nine of the other county so it looks like nine. Other counties moved into red to in those were monterey riverside sacramento santa barbara center to hema to lori and ventura And then that just leaves eleven of the california's fifty eight counties in the most restrictive purple tier still the the cases. They're saying have gone to six point. Eight per one hundred thousand residence so they took last week's case rate which was eight point. Eight where at six point eight. And i think they took like a combined total and that got us just over the mark to go to read. So that's good so we keep having our case count drop to which is which is good and i think a lot of that has to do with vaccines right. We're just not spreading fast and it's starting to slow down so hopefully this'll be. The weird thing is in europe. They're kinda getting so talked to one of our clients say who lives in france and She was saying that you know like where she is. She's around knees and it's become more restrictive there so they become more lockdown.
