"More question for you. What to get another flex one here. Five guys though day, Sean Hamilton, Cortlandt Sutton, Josh Adams, Kenneth Dixon or Dante Pettis. We have an idea. How many he wants one person one player just one? It sounds. Interesting. So do we feel like Josh Adams, probably is he's sort of Gus Edwards e write us definitely definitely day, Sean, Hamilton or. Yeah. I think it's got to be one of those two guys as well, probably lean towards DeJean Hamilton, really I think that was a reverse from where we were yesterday on the conversation about those Broncos wide receivers, but got call. I think if Sutton comes in healthy, and he's going to be a go. I I would lean that way, I'm still gonna give them another week as the favourite there in Denver. Okay. I'm not I I don't know if I'd even try, you know, he's got a sore quad banged up last week, detract Sutton didn't practice Tuesday. Mhm Dixon yen. I've seen a couple of things to the past couple of days on this is a discussion about Cameron bright in how touchdown dependent he has been and then with relation to picking up, Ian Thomas, and you know, so do you have any takes on which one you feel more confident in this week? I hope it going. I break no at night. And I know we've had this discussion a lot, but flip a coin. It's actually been a few few people different people have talked about the differences there. They I've seen that too. I bright at nine and the Thomas ten so it's close. So you feel a little more comfortable Tate RIC's me with just a little safer. But I hate I hate as as an analyst in this just giving the flip a coin answer. But like gin like we are projecting things that are within our control. But there are twenty two variables in every single play. And it's hard for us to seize too much control over these once the game begins. So both like I think bright has more upside as a tight interview touchdown production because he scored more touchdowns. And I think that it's far less likely for KMart to ever have a game with ten targets. Whereas in Thomas gonna have ten targets every game for the rest of the season. And for what it's worth Baltimore has been pretty bad against tight ends. Whereas the saints have been pretty good. So maybe that breaks the tie for you. All right. So we've got a couple of minutes here to say goodbye. But man. Yeah, we Adam Schefter confirming. That news. We talked about earlier Carson Wentz. Again. The eagles are concerned that QB Carson Wentz will not play Sunday due to a back injury. Nick foles has been told to be ready source tells Adam schefters that is the news of the day coming up on Thursday..

"You're right. I'll tell you what Matthew the names I mentioned Trent green and Joe Montana way worse than those other. The whole joke was brutal and flawed and not particularly funny. But I I do think that if you have to go with that joke Trent green or Alex Smith people that are more aligned with the chiefs would be better. Len Dawson, sure, I'm not I don't know anything about the chiefs Trent green, I just took a shot on Joe Montana. You know, I mean, what are you going to say chief technical a chief? And you know, the thing the other thing about Joe Montana is if you were playing right now or even in his prime he will be back in a Patrick Mahomes. That's how sweet Patrick Mahomes is our that's a little that's a little bit too bold right there. It don't you think you think rest of rest of career Joe Montana? Patrick Mahomes who? Want? I look people ask me quarterback Cam or. Field Yates says it says Patrick Mahomes better than Joe Montana. This. Joe Montana met from waterboy. Anyway, it's a couple of let's let's do a couple of wide receivers here because there are some important names at wideout day. Sean Hamilton for the Denver Broncos one of two players at seven catches for Denver. And he was the fulltime player for Denver on Sunday. He played sixty nine snaps most amongst wide receivers. Caught a touchdown think it was seven of nine targets Daesh on Hamilton fourth round rookie out of Penn State big slot presence. And he does just because we've seen keenum throughout the year. Obvious was with manual Sanders, but have success with a slot. Whether it was Adam feeling last year Sanders this year, and you think about their schedule Cleveland this week at Oakland than the Charleston week seventeen who are very good against the slot. But might be resting some players. So it's a nice little schedule today. Dejean Hamilton, you know, question not. I mean, you only got forty seven yards out of the seven catches. But that's okay. You scored a touchdown. He really did slide into that Emmanuel Sanders role inside. And as you just mentioned he's going to be featured in that area..

"Night. We're good Philip rivers thirteen point five fantasy points Keenan Allen five for seventy and a touchdown. But interesting here Austin cler fifteen for sixty six on the grounds to find you. Then he gets banged up a stinger issues. What we're hearing connector biggest concern for them is that they play on Thursday right now. And you're talking about coming back from something that he has a history of this type of injury. It's got to be a little more concern for him. The good news is that we've been talking about Melvin Gordon doing. Well, I think some people thought he might even be back this last week wasn't quite ready. But it sounds like he could be available by Thursday. So stay tuned. But I believe that you will more likely see you're more likely to see Melvin Gordon than Austin. You might wanna see some Justin Jackson in the waiver wire column this week in case both of those players couldn't go we'll find. Now, let's keep an eye on whether they promote anybody else from the practice squad or add another body at running back the Broncos looses to fund his beloved forty Niners twenty to fourteen as the final winners first game with out manual Sanders. And it was not. Portland. Son who got banged up a bit himself but day, Sean Hamilton, Tim, Patrick who went crazy for the Broncos. Matthew nailed it with the day. Sean Hamilton longshot calling fantasy football now, actually more. Also got more are more call him Patrick. So both of you are right to separate Broncos wide receivers. Matthew. What did we learn? Did we find out that any of these players is actually a worthy at right now in Venice football for the final three weeks? I think than worth adding I don't know that you feel confident about starting any of them. So it's worth adding to certainly in keeper leagues, I would assume Cortlandt sentence already been a long roster days labor leagues. Right. You know? But but DeJean Hamilton may still be out there. So I think that's sort of interesting here. One of the reasons like that I like DeJean Hamilton as the fantasy longshot was because I felt like he was going to run the majority of the slot roles. Forty two percent of his coming into this game. Forty two percent of his routes have been run from the slot. Which is where I think keenum likes to throw. And we're Sanders at a ton of success in this offense. So you know at home against Cleveland than at Oakland in week sixteen. Home to a charters team that might be resting some players in week seventeen. So I do think day Sean Hamilton is kind of an interesting name to roster sorta depends on your leak, and what else you have out there. But the other thing I think you learned here is that you don't feel that we're going to need to see it from Portland saddened before you can trust them. Because if if ever there was a game from to do something this was it and he didn't. Yeah. I mean, it's all these guys we're sort of like, I still want. I would like to see them see consistently do what at least one more game. And the problem is running out of time sometimes will be over in week sixteen for the forty Niners. George kill was unbelievable. Literally historic seven to ten in touchdown in the first half alone. Savan us. Unbelievable. I now I mean, look we we've been talking about him all year, Matthew, you were on the bandwagon for George kindle, it perhaps earlier than anyone what what he's been able to provide is consistency. No matter which quarterback is playing under center. No matter what the situation is even on a team that's been dealing with injuries to pass catchers all around the one consistent..

"Well, couple undrafted free agents. It's interesting. Keenum former Bronco former Viking leaves Minnesota Kirk cousins goes there gets paid the big dollars keenum winds up in Denver. And he is passed for excuse me. Just under three thousand yards twenty nine hundred fifty three yards fourteen touchdowns ten picks. He had a lot of turnovers early is minimized his turnovers late. But guys today he doesn't have they traded to marry his Thomas because they were so deep it wide receiver. He went to the Texans at the trade deadline, and then they lose Emmanuel Sanders Wednesday in practice to a tornado CL's. So keenum comes into this game without his top weapons. And it's going to be interesting to see how he reacts. What he does have is a good running back, and he's got a running back. This three game streak. He's thrown less passes and less touchdowns because he's got the running game. So that's what he's got going. I think the game plan for the forty Niners should be neutralized the run game, and may make case keenum beat you with his arm because he's gonna throw pick and he's been doing it the entire season up until three weeks ago. So make them one dimensional and make him beat you with his arm in on the other side for the Niners. It's gonna be really interesting because Jimmy Garoppolo supposedly is going to come back healthy next year from the needs. We saw him on the sideline. That was good news to see him out there against Seattle. Now, you've got a third round pick that you invested in your backup. And you've got a guy like Nick Mullins, who as you said, look, I know a lot of it was in garbage time, but he threw for four hundred fourteen yards. He'd beat the raiders. He looked really good there. You don't keep three quarterbacks. So what do you do in the offseason is it Nick Boland's job because as is Cal Shanahan said they're going to be evaluating everybody. In one of the positions. You're going to be evaluating is your backup quarterback. So do you do you? Keep CJ Beth because he was the third round pick and you invested in or do you keep Nick Mullins because right now, look CJ Beathard healthy. They're just playing McMullan's. So does that tell you that Nick Mullins is the backup going into next year to CJ Beathard get a chance to play before the end of the season. It's one of the things to watch for ten football team. It's hard to say if you're CJ Beathard I'm getting screwed. You're one nine you're given opportunities. You can't say you're getting screwed when you're one in nine personally, if I had to make the decision today is I don't think they're both flawed in different ways. So go with Mullins. I think he's I think he can do more think he'd move around a little bit better. I think his clock is more consistent and you look at his collegiate production. It's legit and he plays with a certain amount of savvy. Now, I think it's going to be interesting today was we're doing a quarterback comparison both of these quarterbacks don't have huge arms, and when you don't have a huge arm. It's hard to make plays outside the numbers. It's hard to make place down the field. So both these to me the key in this game is going to be can the Niners can go at Denver with. No, Chris Harris and burn them in the slot. The rookie Isaac item. Or we believe. I I I'm not sure how it's pronounced. But he's from the Boston College rookie. Can they go at him in the slot? And then can they defend the slot? Emmanuel Sanders was leading this team in targets and yards per game. Dejean Hamilton's a rookie at Penn State the Niners guys. And you know, what they've been crushed all year by slot receivers, golden Tate, Larry FitzGerald, Marquez Valdez scant, link feeling burned him woods burned him. Humphries burned him last week. Lock it and Baldwin both in the slot had big place. So to me, can they can they burn Denver slot corner. A rookie and Ken they control day. Sean Hamilton who runs pretty good routes and has answers not a burner, but he's a good sized guy with good hands and good route running. So to me, that's the key wall. I mean in until the forty Niners show that they can defend receivers down. The field teams are going to throw the ball on the forty Niners in their secondary. So I you have to show that you can defend it, and we're talking about quarterbacks Mullins and CJ Beathard. I think you said it Larry, I think he doesn't have the strong. You know, I I think I think I really believe that that the forty Niners will give it him. Look give them exposure. So they can of maybe use them to get a mid round draft pick. I think CJ Beathard is the backup quarterback because he has the arm strength. I think couch Shanahan likes, you know. Nick Mullins is tiny way kind of commands. The offense ended up at the understanding of the offense. But he doesn't have the arm to to throw that ball outside on the perimeter. And that's what the what his offense is kind of based on. I I think it's going to be tough. Because I don't think case keenum is one of the best quarterbacks in the league at a nice year last year twenty two touchdowns seven interceptions. A lot of talent around him in Minnesota. But look you wanna make these guys one dimensional. But the thing that scares you is this is crazy. This is going to be the ninth safety combination to start for the forty Niners. And then we're talking about a guy like a killer Weatherspoon who has struggled a ball right in his hands last week in Seattle that he dropped you haven't had continuity outside of Richard Sherman who missed a game. But for the most part has been solid this year. So one year corners. I've been in and out mavens in weatherspoon's in whoever's on that side. Then you have nine starting combinations at the safety spot, which I haven't heard of ever in my history in in covering this league nearly twenty years. So even if keenum's don't wanna you're better quarterbacks in the league, you're going to have confusion in the secondary. Because you just haven't had the continuity at your last line of defense is a great point, John. And it makes you wonder if Robert Sala will come out. I mean, like if I'm Robert solid today. I think I play man because when I look at the number of busted plays they've had in the miscommunication as you said all the different safety combos, and there's more coming, and you're just you you've gotten you've given away some big plays. And and they're DB's at times. Are playing to their athleticism because they're thinking and they're playing tentatively. I'd play exclusively man today. I really would and just play fast and seek gives me you're not dealing with a incredible core cast here what you're going to see from from Denver today is going to be you know, three wides at times. And they're they're wide. Receivers are guys that you know, Tim, Patrick, Cortlandt Sutton and day, Sean, Hamilton Sutton is a good player, but he's not quick. He's a big rangy long strider day, Sean Hamilton as I said as I is kind of a angular route runner guy, but not a burner. They I I think I would look at the Keller Witherspoon Richard sherman's of the world. And just say, you know, what guys we can play man coverage today we can win on the perimeter against these guys. And I think it would be smart Dennis because it would keep it simple. And you will probably result in fewer busted plays because a communication breakdowns, and how do you see it? Well, I mean, if if you're gonna play man coverage, you gotta have a pass rush. Rush. I mean, you you got to get to the quarterback quarterback at least off his Mark. Because if he's able to sit there and man coverage and the way you're talking about the secondary that gives up the big play man coverage still the technique is not there. A lot of times you see the band coverage in the balls dropped right in on on a defensive back because you can't turn around and track the ball. So, you know, solace this whole seasons kind of been into predicament. Do you bring blitz? Do you not bring blitz? Doodoo man. Covers you stay in own. But it all starts with your Pash rush, you know, in the locker room right now solid needs to be in front of his his defense line and say listen this game is going to be won or lost on. How you guys play you front four bass rush nickel. Russia's going to be based on you guys. We need to pass rush. We need some type of pressured to take the ease off our secondary. The other thing to me is that you know, when you look at this this game Philip linzie comes in with so much momentum's. I mean, eight yards a carry the last three games. He gets he hits the little hole hardy gets north and south. He makes big plays. He's really shifty. He's so shifty that he doesn't really give you a clean hit. But I'll tell you. I've watched a lot of the Broncos in the last month. I have yet to see this kid hit square on how to me Marcel Harris loves to detonate on running backs. He's a big thumper. I wanna see a hard hit square on hit him only and hit them often. In to me if you do that. I think he got a chance because you could slow him down the Niners. If they can't slow down Lindsey today won't don't have a chance to win this game. He's he's that he's rolling that. Well right now. I think it is really. And you've talked about this the entire pregame. It's who's in short yardage on the most consistent basis because if the Niners find themselves in third and eight thirty nine hundred and twelve whatever their those two outside pass rushers are gonna get to him. And if the Broncos find themselves net long situation not again, not because the Niners will get into his face. I just don't think case keenum can consistently convert long third downs. It's about Phil Lindsey getting five six seven yards on first and second down getting them into short yardage situations and same thing with the forty Niners. Neither of these teams have the offense is right now or have the quarterbacks right now based on the Broncos getting to the quarterback. And based on the fact that case keenum is Ryan so much on. What Philip Lindsey does. And I like what you said about Philip get a hit on him. I mean, he's a young kid. You know, he's a rookie in the league. He's undrafted. He's running. He's having fun. He's still having find out there. He's hitting the whole. He's a little guy. He's hitting the whole he he's outrunning people put a couple hits on this kid, and let them know that this is what the NFL's about. And then he starts thinking about it. You know, before he goes in that whole, you know, he knows a defensive lineman. They're going to know put put a put a blow on him. So. Yeah. Getting his head a little bit talk to him a little bit get after them a little bit. And and you're right. If if he gets if he gets going it's going to be a long day defensively for the forty Niners. And since the bye week guys the Niners have not done a very good job defending opposing running backs. Let's take a time out. You know, we're looking at this Denver team. They've won three straight to remain inside the AFC wild card race. And look they've beaten they beaten the chargers the Steelers and the Bengals the Bengals are are not a very good football team. But the chargers and Steelers are playoff teams and big comeback Super Bowl contenders. So Denver's plans. Playing decent footballer beach since he last Sunday twenty four ten Niners going the other way, they've lost three straight. They're allowing an average of thirty two points a game and the forty Niners share lost five games already by double digits, including last week forty three sixteen up in Seattle. All right. We're gonna take a time out. We're gonna come back. Tim Ryan's gonna join us from the broadcast booth will check in on some of the NFL headlines. We also still have the active and inactive and the keys to the game at noon will hand the reins to Ted and Tim for the final hour and then one zero five kickoff here at Levi's. Niners and Broncos bring your jacket cool day for football on the sports leader KNB NBRC, six eight okay. Let's.

"Story number one. We've definitely had to a quarter. Turn adjust our game planning. We had a quarter turn adjusted last night. You can imagine after getting all first and second down in and now without a manual. So we're making some. Subtle changes. And we think will still be effective. We're looking forward to England. Since can be personal because initially. This guy is lacking. Yeah. We may need to tap those. Abilities. He has even more because we're going to miss a manuals quickness and dynamic playmaking ability. Definitely. There is Broncos offensive coordinator Bill must grave earlier today. Talking about the loss of Emmanuel Sanders now that it is official that he will miss the rest of the season while I don't believe that all the Broncos need to do. Offense is a quarter turn adjustment. I do agree with the second part of of what you heard there Philip linzie for all of you. And I'm one of I'm one of you. I'm not trying to separate myself here for all of us who have been banging the drum of why doesn't Philip Lindsay get more love nationally. If he doesn't get more love nationally over the next four weeks, then then just nothing will because he's the key. He is the absolute key for the Denver Broncos. He's been a big reason why they're in the position they're in where their playoff hopes are still alive. And if the Broncos make the postseason number thirty will be the guy that we are praising the most, and it has to be he has to become more of a dual threat, and he was supposed to be they brought him into slot receiver. And now he doesn't catch the ball at all. He has the ability. Now, it's on Bill must grave the guy. You just heard there to incorporate him more in the offense, especially in that way. So you're not having case keenum relying upon Tim, Patrick DeJean Hamilton and as much as I liked, Portland Sutton. He's gonna get a lot more attention now. And case keenum is not great. At finding his number one guy. He is a second and third target kinda guy, and that's not Portland Sutton anymore. So it's on the Broncos to involve Philip Lindsey more and more in the offense to try and make sure that the injury to Emmanuel Sanders doesn't completely derail what they have built up over the last three weeks story number two, eight seconds left.

"You look at another rookie that they have in DeJean Hamilton. If you go back the NFL draft, you know, the plan was to to move on from the Mary Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders after the season. And now that plan is in place, which is unfortunate for the Broncos because they're right in the sick of the wild wild card hunt. But I think you look at knows Jones if you're looking for a wide receiver he's play. Well, good matchup this week for the for the bills. You know, maybe go find, you know, Mike Williams, I like to set up for him this week for the for the charger. There are some receivers in this in this week fourteen matchup. It is Jamie iceberg CBS sports dot com. Fantasy football expert. Let's get to the phone calls guys. He's doing great just get right to your call. So we can get as many people in as we can here in the next five or six minutes. Let's start with he dropped off. Sorry to the big Alison San Pedro. Big guy. Go. I'm trying to figure out who's going to be the play the Sean McCoy Austin, Edgar the Garrett blood and Rashad penny. Disney one that go with equa. I know last little frustrating in certainly Justin Jackson, the play a big role. But I think he just look at the match Steelers very good against on this week. The Bengals are the worst in the NFL. So it should be a bounce back week for equa. It'd be a good week for all the chargers. So I like him for your fantasy teams like just in Rancho goat. What's going on guys? So if Trubisky plays you starting Trubisky or golf. I'm starting Goff. But they're close trubisky's probably going to have to make some plays with his legs. We've seen the Rams defense. It's a small sample size. But they've been very good. When it keep to leave his field. Comparatively twenty not. So the bears. I think they're off at the line will struggle came all bit. We saw themselves a little bit last week with you know, chase Daniel but against giant and golf is playing. No unbelievable right now. So I would stick with over to Alex in south central go, buddy. APR league trae burden or Amari Cooper as a flex, thanks. That's not even close argue is playing great burden is not I looked up that a little while ago. He had one target last week for no catches his last game with an awful while Cooper in the four-game game. Now with with the Cowboys. He's been you know, pretty fantastic. So I think vers- any choice there. Are you sick, bro? A little bit Bauer. Call Stefan here, I could tell Josh in LA. Go ahead. All right. I got receivers I have to do Smith proper woods. John Hopkins for my flakes. I put in over one of those three Samuels or Wilson. Or do I keep out of it? Kept probably have it. You know, those those receivers are great Samuels is a little bit of a wildcard as we don't. 'cause James Connors out. And he says he's going to be the starter. But we're out of Pittsburgh as it could be even really as the starter. Obviously tables gonna get issue touches we'll be the best running back this week. But and Wilson should be very good for the for the forty Niners. But I was still stick with with those receivers. Let's go to Steve in Wilmington. What's up Steve go going a lot of injuries and spent shins hunt open and off today, which what would I get my points defense or the chargers or if not my flex crow L or more from the Panthers? I go day more for sure for the flex, you know, he's been at least eight targets three games and very match against Cleveland. And then the chargers never wanted this week again, you know, you looking at the Bengals they're down there left tackle the down. They're down Jake green. It's just a great setup for the chargers. Defendants Ricky San Diego Riddick. Cortlandt threaten or Adam Humphreys standardly. Yeah. I think offering just any good body scored in three straight games. You're looking at a match up for him against the saints where I'm curious where they're gonna put you..

"Harris junior will join us in a few minutes. It'll be interesting to talk to him. Good to catch up with Chris after his injury on Sunday in Cincinnati Denver Broncos signed wide receiver Andre homes after the Emmanuel Sanders injury. And he is he will immediately become the most experienced wide receiver on the team by far. He's been around since two thousand twelve when he broke in with the Dallas Cowboys, and he's thirty years old. He's got over one hundred receptions in his career. Wait, that's more than all our guys combined right now. Probably. Yeah. Wow. Too bad. Brandon Marshall wasn't available Billy Billy month. Yeah. Right. He just got picked up by New Orleans, and they haven't used them. He hasn't trust for a game yet Bill most great coached Andrei homes. When bus grave was the coordinator of the raiders. When when Derek Carr had his really good year. The basically got him one hundred billion dollar deal under homes just got caught by the Buffalo Bills. And so once again good timing for the Broncos to be able to pick him up on waivers. Just like the cornerback. They got yesterday jamar Taylor. They're getting kind of lucky here with these veterans being out there that they can bring in Dave assuming this guy still has game. And once he gets in and gets accustomed to the the system the playbook could he become the number one receiver on the team. Or is this going to be no, it's no he will have he will have a secondary role. I would think I mean, they wanna feature not because they're trying to force the issue, but they want courtroom sudden to be the number one guy and then one day Sean Hamilton to be the number two guy. Right. And I think they're comfortable Tim, Patrick and Andre homes gives them a veterans presence that can probably play more than one position. It's so should something else happen. He's a guy that can play in in. Maybe they go to four wides. And maybe they once homes is comfortable. Maybe the Broncos think right now homes probably is the guy. We want to go with and not river Cray craft. Not dislike craftsman homes has some veteran. But he no he's four it'd be the number. Yeah. He'd be the number four guy. Maybe the number three guy used him in certain, okay. Personnel packages. But make no mistake about it. I mean, cordless Sutton, is now the number one guy in DeJean Hamilton's, probably your number two guy. Cory Coleman Stolpen Korey. Coleman was traded from Cleveland to buffalo. And then then least right? I think he got cut earlier this year. I don't know New England picked him up or you Coleman noise with the giants. New England cutting to the kid from Baylor. Right. Is he is he on the active roster in New York? Just as wide receiver for New York. Giants don't even know. So does does Brian had the same injury. Is this yet achilles? Those like a second day of practice. Does make you dismiss you wonder because even back in the day those I mean ACL injuries that achilles injuries were so rare. I mean, they just I just don't remember a lot of those type injuries. Apparently Emmanuel Sanders had a sore heel. Yes. And in fact, he showed up on the injury report with a heel. And from what I understand that can be a sign that may be a precursor is aggravating. Yeah. And so maybe that's what happened. You know, I love playing the doctor on the radio just like you. Dave. But that is that's that's legit. Here's some free agents say list available. They had does Corey Jeremy Macklin Macklin was a good receiver for Kansas City. Philadelphia Benjamin he also got cut by the bills yesterday wouldn't bring him in too much trouble. You just haven't heard great things about him. When he was the number one pick a Carolina missed the Super Bowl, of course with. I think in ACL he was he was Cam Newton's number one receiver that a Florida state big physical guy, and then came back had a decent year. And then had was traded to buffalo and blasted Carolina on the way out saying that, you know, didn't like the offense wasn't overly gracious about Cam Newton. And then when when Carolina in buffalo played in the preseason, they had that little dust up conversation before the game that obviously all the people filmed and then. You know, he's he just hasn't seem like the kind of guy that you want to put into a really young room. That is impressionable doesn't seem like a great team guy to me. "Hey, Mike, you there? Mike. Can you hear me? I love doing this show. Oh, you love doing the show because John cryan or because Dave and Kathy. You know? That's a good answer by my walkup song gets me going. Okay. Good. That's good to hear. We were just talking about the the injury to Emmanuel Sanders. Read before we took a break to bring you on. So Broncos fans now, we know it looks like he tore his achilles. He will be out the rest of the year. What what happens next, Mike? Yeah. You know, they claimed Andre homes off waivers, and you know, what happened right? And at practice. It was a simple air drill. And he was. Well, I guess it wouldn't simple because it was full speed for the quarterback drops back. Case keenum drops back. I didn't quite catch the the quarterback. But I assume it was keenum and not HOGAN. But he took off a full speed about five yards downfield. In a shallow cut in route. And as he cut it looked it looked to everyone like he just slept. You know that there's a turf is. Is loose. They're really all over the field. It's looked a little soggy today. For whatever reason and he slept and everybody took a minute to realize he was hurt. He didn't yell out or anything. And. Then he rolled over. And he wasn't getting up and people started coming over. And then he took the helmet off and slammed into the ground and they helped them off. And that was rather quick one. You know, I guess the one saying positive thing about it was a couple of receivers that were cut yesterday. And they're on the waiver wire today and the injury happened about twelve ten twelve fifteen today in the Broncos had till two o'clock to put a claim in. And so they did they put a claim in Andre home. Who was with Bill must grave with the raiders. So they have a veteran, but other than that, it's kids. I mean. Sutton moves up the one day, Sean Hamilton to number two. Kim, Patrick the number three. Craft to number four and Andre home saw slips in there somewhere as soon as he can. And those first four guys I mentioned came into the season with zero NFL catches. I I would I would guess maybe you can correct me here. But I would guess that. This would be currently the youngest most inexperienced receiving core in the history of this franchise at this point of the season. You have one rookie two rookies you have to Ricky's a first year guy. Yeah. Another first year guy, and and now Andrei homes, I mean, that's almost unheard of in the NFL. In fact, their practice squad. Had more catches coming into this season than Iraq roster. As of one o'clock today before they got homes, Chad. Hansen had nine catches with the jets last year. So. It's crazy. It is not. Now having said that the way the Bronx. And here's the silly thing. The way the Broncos are going. Day. Sean Hamilton will have twelve catches for one hundred eighty yards Sunday against the forty Niners. You want? You know, you wonder how long they can keep going with while receiving this number of a devastating injuries. I mean, it's been thirty one days guys since Matt Paradis went down, and it's been higher than it was Garcia, and it's Chris Harrison. And now, it's Sanders. If they win Sunday if they win Sunday, maybe they should start talking about Vance Joseph in the coach of the year conversation. Well, Well, I I still like their chances Sunday against the forty Niners. Dave, and I were talking earlier about well, this gives the young guys a chance to get some experience you're going to see what you got now in Hamilton and Patrick and Craig craft and these guys wouldn't have got reps if not for the Sanders injury. So I guess that's that's the bright side of things. These guys look to be especially Patrick in Hamilton. They look to have real talent. We haven't seen enough a crate craft. But. And this is a running football team. They haven't they haven't relied on heavy passing game. So I still feel pretty good not as good but pretty good moving forward from here. Yeah. You know, I think we're seeing the offense evolve a little bit after DT got traded in that, you know, all of a sudden a manual. It was getting tougher for Emmanuel without DT. I thought he hadn't been quite as productive the last four games without DT because he was number one. And he was getting the bracket double teams that maybe DT got. Now, they now they don't have either one. Dejean Hamilton played more snaps than any other Bronco receiver last week against the Bengals. But I don't think he had any catches, and I saw them open a couple times on underneath routes but keenum's looking somewhere else. And you know, I guess he's the guy that they're going to have to look to and Cortlandt Sutton has kind of played that Ashley will lead role for this team and done it quite quite well on the deep high point ball. You know, he's gonna have to catch a few more third and seven do the the button hook for eight yards. She's going to have to run some more of those routes. So. Yeah. You have to adjust. You have to ask players to. Come on. Before they're quite ready. But you know, the forty Niners are doing that too. They got a young running back little I think is might be his name is the running back. He had six yards last week think he's an undrafted rookie status. Drafted rookie had a breakout game of sorts last week against Seattle. So the Broncos need. A couple of teams in in many ways are in the same position other than the Broncos need to win to stay in the playoff hunt. Jeff Wilson junior. I think Mike I want you to know I want you to know that there are four people. Now, we have five people currently eating at first cafeteria that are familiar with the term button hook. That is old school, dude. Right. They're recognized smile because I think we're the only. L A button. Raymond Barre ran button hooks. Absolutely. That was that was the in the seventies. Sweet panthers. Highly sophisticated. There you go. Hey, mike. What one we've got about thirty seconds. We gotta go. I said earlier I think Bill must grave now really has the task it coming up with a game plan with so much youth outside that will enable them to continue not only run the ball. But you got to be able to hit a few passes to do. Yeah. You do and Sutton can can catch those soak soak in Hamilton Hamilton. Yeah. I think Hamilton can and Matt Lacoste can get down the same as I've been saying this they need to get Philip Lindsey a little more involved in the receiver games. Yeah. Me too. He's getting the ball plenty as a running back. But I think he can catch four or five passes out of the backfield split them out as a plank or maybe that's the answer. Thanks, mike. "As air Carell over voice Freeman. Yes. Okay. Manual sanders. Pittsburgh gives up the fifth most slot. Fifth most points to slot wide receivers, Coralline Sutton. Who'd he prefer between those two I think I'd take him annual Sanders now because they don't love son, but because Sutton only catches three a game so free meal from here on out. I think something's going to be didn't we say that before last week though and caught three passes again? No, we said after this last week. I was saying after this week he's going to be great. Because last what about what about the Joe Haden effect? Mike, you speak so much of the joy. I remember Jason saying schedules glorious and I was thinking about Joe Haden. Yeah. If the question will be does Emmanuel Sanders continue his role in the slot. The the answer to that after we're talking about the trade Mary's Thomas, it has been that. Manny Sanders has been the slot day. Sean Hamilton, kind of the guy rookie for the Broncos who could replace Sanders in the slot. He's banged up. Again, another knee injury for him. So Manny as safe there, which to me puts Joe Hayden on Cortlandt Sutton, whose averaging twenty yards a reception and its sketchy me, and I am as a Sutton is a three a lower level three this week. Yeah. No, it does make sense. What you just laid out make sense that Emmanuel Sanders will stay in the slot because of DeJean Hamilton's injury Coralline something will be on the outside with Joe Hayden. So I do temper some of my excitement come the team matchup here from when you look at it on an individual level. I would certainly play Sanders over Sutton here. James Connor pretty high in your inking. Yes. I don't need to check. Yep. Sunday night football, the four five and one Packers take on the five foreign one Vikings scared of these ties guys just takes too much time to read them. Mike, y'all about officiency, I'm with you, man. How about you get to ties it gets the count as a win? So I way they can either do you can either shoot for the second time. Does anyone have to ties? No, no, no. There's not a joke there either. Mike. There was I was going to go with a clip on Joe. No, Michael J, FOX family ties joke, but that would that would have had crickets all over it. Well, then I'm just explaining what I was thinking about your fine. You don't get crickets pumps the brakes on family ties. Mike is legitimately worried about crickets now did her at her it hurt him bad inside inside a gummy. So if the Packers upset the Vikings at home who are three and a half point favorites, forty seven and a half point over under. Though, both we five and one. So not the season you expect it from the Vikings. But this is football guys. This is what we said before the season. I said I think the Vikings are gonna have a worst season in this perfect projection. Everybody has because not because they don't have good players because his football. It's hard. It's hard. And when you the defense is what it comes down to the defense. Mike Zimmer must be just his temperature must be rising minute by minute of every game. Because everything in his template comes to fruition minus the defense. You know what I mean? And then they can't run the football right now. Either problem. That's the biggest problem is the lack of ability to run the ball because the defense has been has been his they're doing enough on defense that they should be winning more games. Well, let's play a game of bounceback..

"And another one that I saw on Twitter at the very least that the name out. There is Chris Harris junior which I think is not going to happen. And he's got a team friendly deal too. So. I think things would have been a lot different. First of all, I think we've been talking about some coaching moves I dunno necessarily, but it would have been fired. But if things would have not gone well on Thursday of last week. Maybe the trade talks would have heated up about this. Here's my thought on Damaris Thomas and potentially. You know, trading a guy that has gone through so much here. Denver Heidi to see it happen. I think it's going to happen. And the reason being is the guy that they drafted this year in Cortlandt Sutton. That's he's he's DT. I mean, the first time I get to see him in person. And then watch him practice. I went well. That's Damaris Thomas. Replacement? I mean, everybody gets old. Okay. I mean, there comes a time when you're not going to be as productive as you had been of OTT's happen. A really nice year. They've got their guy apparently. And they just didn't need to help him a little bit more with routes understand. But if somebody comes with a price. If somebody comes to the first round offer. I mean, you know, DT certainly out the door very quickly. That's not gonna happen. And I think probably a a my mind, and maybe this is my bias. But I think is better receiver that Amari Cooper. That's just me down with the first round pick. But I'm pretty sure the Cowboys probably called and to the Broncos about DT. Annemari cooper. And so so. I just think unfortunately, it's the cold. Blooded business of the NFL and. Which is why players when they have the opportunity to go and get the money. I don't begrudge him for going and getting the money. Brock osweiler. It's a short-lived. And look what he did this weekend to the bears. He likes playing against the bears, man. He's killed him. He's playing three times beat them all three times with three different teams. Remember he made his starting debut with Rocco's. Against the bears in two thousand fifteen and got that one. And when he was with Houston played against the bears beat the bears there too. So it's up about playing against the bears. What it is. But I digress. Brockway for the money. And may have felt a little disrespected by the Broncos, which I get you were waiting on a soon to be hall of Famer and Peyton Manning make his decision whether he's coming back, and whether he was gonna take a little bit of a pay cut and the Broncos for whatever reason Brock Osweiler didn't like the way that he was being treated by the Broncos and decided to go for the money. I I don't I don't regret guys that do that. Because this is what the world is to marries Thomas who has think about it comes in here. First of all came from Georgia techs didn't get a lot of passes big body hendler lot. And he plays with Kyle Orton any plays with. Tim tibo? So we went through those years. Then he gets to play with Peyton Manning. And in the last couple of years he's played with. Yeah. Semi-in and Osweiler and. And Paxton Lynch and has gone through that. So he's gone through two different versions of not figuring out who the hell quarterbacks. And even this year. It's taken awhile for he and case keenum to kind of get on the same page. So. He has put up some pretty fantastic numbers considering I know he played with Peyton Manning there for four years, but let's outside of that. He's just had regular guys at quarterback. And he's still looking to put up some pretty good numbers here this year. So. He's an older guy. And again, my thought is I think he's probably got I think it'd be get a decent opera poor. And I forgot to throw. I mean, I think the even go down with third round pick. I think they would give him up. Just because they have guys now manual Sanders is having a fantastic year, Cortlandt Sutton is starting to step up and really learn DeJean Hamilton. We hope the knee gets better here. But. Is going to be another one of those guys can Patrick another big bodied receiver. That's really good Philip Lindsay. And I put. Lindsay in there because he's all do everything kind of back, and he gets into the mix to all of a sudden, you've got all this talent. And you don't have enough football to spread around and. DT's not the really the focal point is much this year. And so it will be okay. To kind of take that loss and deal with the youngins and trust him a little bit. And you know, I don't want to see it happen. I was interesting somebody. She wants to put a name out there. But and I think a lot of us agree in the media room. The rumor mill about Demaria's Thomas. It's like we feel bad putting that out there. Because really there aren't really any of us there in the media room. Anyway, they want to see him go 'cause he's a nice guy. Could gotta talk to. So it's been good with us. So that's the that's the that's the part that we deal with on the media side of things you try to keep your distant. I mean, I've always I shouted from the rooftops. I mean, I'm I'm a fan and have been and that's the way that I talked about the Broncos I tried to be in the middle. But I know these guys I get to be around these guys all the time. And I'm also fan I grew up watching the Broncos, I'm free and a half hours away from here. I it's a regional team. I was a huge fan wash him since I was a kid. So. My bias leans a little bit to the Broncos. I try to give you the. The straight scoop when I can I knew from your anything like that. But. Understand. That's the weird thing is just go. Why hate this? I I like talking to DT's a good guy. It's always been great does see him go. But you look from the business side of things and you look from a success side of things looking into the future. "They Sean Hamilton being checked out on the sidelines. When we get an update, we'll certainly pass it along to you not have an incomplete passionate case keenum five of five eighty seven yards a touchdown. As the Broncos start. I attended the twenty one yard line motion across for janitor. Motion into the backfield to the right of the shotgun. Gives to the ban on the left. That's not on the bucks side of Lindsay tries the right side of the line gets a couple out to the Twenty-three. Antoine buffet on the stop one last note though, Tony on that fair catch interference in dote. The Denver Broncos out of a hole. It was really a mistake. That was being made by DeJean Hamilton's called for fair catch at the six yard line. Yeah. You're supposed to put your heels on the ten and it goes over your head. You let it go in and play the odds. It's in the end zone. He backs up. Then the unfortunate contact happens is hoping. Okay, second and eight at the twenty three yard line Royce Freeman in now at running back. He stands to the left of case. Keenum points down gets the shotgun. Snap play action. Capable throw quit slant off the fingertips of Cortlandt Sutton. At the thirty yard line. That's incomplete. Now. Third nate. I mean, I would literally be yelling at Bill must review offense coordinator is playing off his line up. Up twenty eight three. This is the second worst defense in the league. We are averaging over five yards of Kerry. What are you doing run the ball that giant laminated play sheet? To go to the ones who start with run stay away from the ones that say task third down at eight at the twenty three. In the gun. He's got Booker to his right. Gonna throw pressure upper middle eatables, right? Looking downfield backs up all the way to the fifteen yard line at throws it away. So the Broncos go three and out as Corey Peters, Marcus golden provided the pressure good coverage by Zona this time. Add onto punt comes Colby Wasserman. Listen as a good job of coverage down the field is bad. As the coverage was on that last drive where Emmanuel Sanders is running by himself. This time that secondary of the cardinals are locked up there finding guys in their zones. And then they're they're plaster to them in case. Keenum has nowhere to go. Even after scrambles. He had that ball at six or six or seven seconds and still confined it into punted away. Christian Kirk standing at the thirty rugs up to the thirty five and near the forty yard line fields the punt with a fair catch. Cardinals gonna good field position. Just a thirty eight yard punt for Colby. Wideman was promoted from the practice squad on October sixth. Time out on the field. Eleven thirty six remaining first-half quick dope. Before we go to break day. Sean Hamilton out with a knee injury for the remainder to the game. Twenty eight three Denver eleven thirty six left first-half. "Welcome back for our eighth season. We were just talking about that. I know isn't that amazing time flies, and the there were a lot of fun time. So we're not getting any older we must be getting younger Benjamin button. Spur getting awkward. There's a lot more salt pepper of definitely mine. No doubt about it. Yours probably too. You've probably covered a little bit better because you have lighter hair darker hair pops a little bit more. But we're also talking about how excruciating long this off season has been and I think it's in part because a miserable year last year five and eleven eight game losing streak didn't know whether the coach was going to be back yet all the quarterback controversy. He missed the playoffs for the second straight year. And then you gotta go through an off season where you're talking about quarterbacks ad nauseam all over again. So the Broncos at least coming out of training camp. We know one thing they have at least for week one solved the quarterback position. Case keenum will be our starter. There's no more debating Paxton Lynch. He's gone. Right or wrong. He's gone. He had all the physical attributes. I'm rooting for the kid. I hope he goes somewhere else and gets a fresh start. And makes it he everything you'd want in a quarterback. It just didn't work out here. He wasn't a right fit maybe expectations were too high. So we go with case keenum now has case keenum at least for this week stabilize the quarterback position. Yes, definitely. And if he plays today as he is practiced as he played in the preseason games. Then the Broncos have the answer they were looking for stability leadership and mostly turnover free football. And that's a key thing. And it was interesting at Vance Joseph said of case keenum this week said, you know, I don't need him to be special and be case keenum case keenum last year. The thing that he did from Minnesota was start with the foundation of ensuring that he wouldn't put. The rest of the team into a bad situation. Avoid turnovers. Think of all the turnovers from the Broncos quarterback position last year. We talked about them twenty two interceptions. Right. And then another twelve fumbles fumbles minus seventeen plus minus on the turnover ratio worst turnover margin in the NFL, only Cleveland was worse. And the thing that jumps out at me. And that's not a category you want to be and with. No, exactly. And the thing is most of that was from the quarterback. Now, you can point to other things like Isiah McKenzie proclivity for fumbles, for example. But last year Denver's quarterbacks turned over the football once every twenty five point seven of their own plays. That's passing attempts rushing attempts. Sax last year. Keenum's ratio was one turnover every sixty seven point nine. Wow place big difference remarkable difference now that gets back to play in complementary. Football. It was so demoralizing for this still I still think a great defense as they were defending so many short fields last year. Never soon. What's wrong with the defense? Well, they're only defending a thirty yard field. And the thing is you were call in October things started to get bad giants chargers. Chiefs the defense hung in there. In those games allowed the giants to have a point point total win the teens. There was a pick six, of course, at the end of the first half that wasn't on the defense held the chargers to fourteen points. The other seven coming off a special teams against Kansas City. Remember held them to feel go after feel go after field goal on those short fields. And then so it bent invent invent rubber band that was a stretched and stretched and then in Philadelphia. Good sound effects through your own self bay to you didn't have to use the audio board. Well done. You mentioned one thing if case keenum can play the way he practices you're out there every day you were out there every day for training camp. What did you see in case keenum in practice that makes you make that statement? I saw command in the huddle. And then at the line of scrimmage pre snap. I saw him to dishes Lee and efficiently and quickly going through his reads finding the best option there. I saw him taking judicious chances. Now in Patrick, he's probably not going to be playing all that much keys your number five receiver. Imagine he'll be on special teams today. But. He would take a chance for example, throwing a fifty fifty ball. Tim, Patrick a fifty fifty ball of Cortlandt Sutton, who I'm sure we will see today a couple of young guys barely extensively. When day, Sean Hamilton was out there taking advantage of DeJean Hamilton's, you know. Route running ability that is well beyond his ears and throwing him day. Sean would make his break starters break in the ball would be out. Just good decision. Making good anticipation that doesn't even get into the fact that keenum and Emmanuel Sanders have exceptional timing. Sanders. Working in the slot. You know, he was a little bit resistant to that. But I, but it seems to have clicked that this is going to be really productive for him. Because look case keenum did with that and feeling Minnesota last year. Good point loves that slot receiver in part. Because sometimes that's the first best read that you have. May not be spectacular. But it gives you the yardage. It's a relatively safe throw keeps the offense moving keeps. It going down feel keeps the train going. So that's what I saw from him. If he took chances it they were situational. Or it was something like like, I said a fifty fifty ball downfield. Sometimes you're going to get picked off going deep. If there's no return on the pick. It's basically a pot doesn't really harm. You all that much. You hate losing possession. But if it's not two minutes to go when you're behind you still going to be in good shape. It's something you can recover from too much of what the offense did last year in terms of giveaways. The defense couldn't recover from because of the field position. Thanks, so I think. I looked back at last year. And I look at what case keenum is. And I think if you just put case keenum on that team last year completely different outcome now during the off season you and I were texting back and forth a little bit after free agency after the Broncos had signed case keenum, the Broncos have the fifth overall pick in the draft. You were still an advocate for drafting a quarterback with that fifth overall pick which has the draft board fell that could have either been Josh Allen who went to buffalo or Josh Rosen who went to the Zona cardinals now based on what you've seen on keenum this year in training camp. And maybe even throw in a little Bradley Chubb because I really don't want it to be about that I want to be more of a philosophical why you thought the Broncos really should have gone quarterback. Even with the number five overall pick after you, sign keenum better to overdraft and overcommit resources to the quarterback position than go on. On the other side of it. If you if you have case keenum, and he develops an anomaly just your quarterback for the next two years. But a long-term franchise guiding you you can probably trade surplus quarterback. The other thing is looking at the draft historically there is a significant drop off when she get back when she get past pick five pick six in terms of the quality of quarterbacks that you're drafting from top five top six pick. Your basically got a fifty percent chance of getting at least a pro bowler out of that you get from that point down to pick thirty two drops to about. I think fifteen percent per is a precipitous drop. So I looked at the draft looked at how often which is rare that the Broncos picking that spot and said, okay, you can probably trade the surplus whoever it is whether it's case keenum or a young quarterback that you would pick. But that being said the Broncos like Baker Mayfield like Sam darnold and neither one one was there. So that's based on empirical data. Data driven answer. A lot of my answers are driven. It's okay. Now that we've had an entire off season. You've got to see Bradley Chubb got Jack Kelly. He's part of the equation. I agree with you. And we'll get them in a second. But you get case keenum, see, Bradley Chubb, isn't it? Nice for where this team is today. Would you can add a piece like Bradley Chubb? Because as I'm watching the draft. I'm sitting at one of our boys high school lacrosse games and watch it on my phone is comes down. I see Cleveland draft ends award. I'm like, oh my gosh. They're going to get Bradley Chubb. This is gonna be so awesome. I was ecstatic abroad Bradley, Chubb pick. How about you? Now that you've seen him for a couple months, and what can he add to this defense? I'm I'm ecstatic about having Bradley Chubb, as well that being said, I think people need to recall that a first year Asia Russia is not a finished product. And I think there may be expectations on him as a rookie from the public that might be a little bit too high and that's primarily because he's a first round draft. I think we always give our draft picks too much expectation first round draft pick on. Team that has von Miller. Right. So instantly. The comparison goes to the last time you picked this high number two twenty eleven and you picked von Miller Bradley Chubb is not fond Miller, he's a different kind of Russia. He's bigger. Von Miller is more speed off the edge. You remember when the Broncos drafted him their questions of well is he really going to work in the four three because you're a four three team at the time. And then they said now, he's gonna be your strong side backer in base names going to be a defensive end in sub. So they found a way to use him and Bradley Chubb, similar kind of similar in reverse. It's like, okay. This is really a three four outside linebacker will. You know, what he's gonna do that? He's also going to have his hand in the dirt. So I like the fact they figured out a use for him that is scheme independent. I like that flexibility as well. I think it's tremendous. And I think that does I'm not putting the kind of pressure on him statistically, like all the expectation is eight to ten sacks out of Bradley Chubb. If he just takes the pressure off of von Miller, Portland from the weak side or capitalizes on the attention that von Miller gets if all of a sudden if he's doing one on ones all the time, and is able to at least capitalize with pressure. Maybe it results in his own sacked. Maybe it results in somebody else's sect. But if he can help be a disruptive force on that side as von Miller is on his side. Then you're going to be very happy with Bradley Chubb. He's Andrew Mason. I'm David Treadwell we needed to take a quick time out. But when we come back I wanna ask Mace about what his expectations are in this new Bill must grave kinda retooled offense. Also, get into that discussion about Chad Kelly a little bit..

"The tuck rule game the patriots call at the snow game. Where do you stand on that subject? Brian fumble, not what do you stand on this subject? As I was watching the game rich, you know? So I'm a little bit torn who am I going to root for my root for my former teammate, Tom or my former teammate, Charles. And so I had to make a quick decision before the game started and given I was playing for the Broncos at that time I clearly had to go against the raiders so I was all on palm. So it was incomplete. Okay, I love that. So you went AFC west right there and in that regard, Brian, as somebody who stepped right into the shoes that John Elway vacated you were the first starter after the Duke left after two Super Bowl wins. What advice do you give case? Keenum who's now the dukes hope to be the next Elway because we're just on Peyton Manning's experience in Denver out the window because they all knew that he was just going to be there for short period of time, hoping to catch Super Bowl lightning in a bottle. What advice would you give case? Keenum. In the rocky mountains, Brian greasy. You know, I think it's it's, you are gonna glass bubble and you just gotta keep the blinders on. And there's gonna be some ups and downs. As the as the season goes, they have gotten better believe offensively up front on the offense of line, but they're still going to be some some bumps in the road. There's gonna be opinions, unlike anything he's ever experienced good and bad. His relationship with John Elway I think is solid. I think John and I spoke with John during these preseason games that I was announcing on television. And John actually told me that they were very close to getting trade done for case keenum when he was in LA with the Rams and just weren't able to get it done. So John has had an affection for for case and his abilities for for quite some time. And I know he was excited to get him for Minnesota. So I think you know, John has a belief in case and so that that goes a long way. The mitigating some of the ups and downs that that case will inevitably go through this year. But I think as it's going to be fine and honestly rich after doing for their preseason games, I think this offense will surprise some people. It was. It was an abomination last year, but they have added to outstanding talents at the receiver position at court Sutton in DeJean Hamilton, and they get back the return Jake. But from injury, your favorite Michigan tied him. So I think they're going to be much better offense this year while I mean it's starting Tian's from the Ohio State right hire men that kid can ball out Brian, right? He could. He can play. He's just been hurt and he hasn't been consistent and he's dealt with knee injury after knee injuries. If he can stay healthy, you know, he can certainly play makes so couple minutes left here with Brian greasy. You're calling the first Monday night game of the season coming up on Monday between the jets and the lions. Sam darnold youngest Super Bowl era. Week, one starter period. Nobody's ever been as young as Sam darnold, how do you think he is going to fair? And with the jets putting all the eggs in his basket right from the get-go here. I felt the same Donal was of the five guys draft in the first round at quarterback this year..

"Mike good of good to talk to you appreciate. The time today as you think about training camp and gear. Up for the first practice tomorrow what are the top couple of, story lines that most interest to you Well today. Joel is kind kinda. Had the floor you know because of you know I think him throwing support. Openly for the first time for one of the Boland children which was Brittany You know the fact that he was open about the conditions on when they would sell the, team although it does sound like it's Britney your boss a little. Bit that was that was one of the storylines today as far as the onfield for the, team it's keenum and the, kids you, know keenum new quarterback and this is a well rookie. Class probably it is the most hyped rookie class since two thousand, eleven. Not so, incidentally both those classes you're picking in the top five number. One von Miller went number two and. Bradley Chubb number, five But also you. Know the rosters had room, for rookies, they Josh mcdaniels walked away with a foreign twelve team. Yeah to rebuild it with and and you know kind of throw, in. Some youth, there and now the team is coming off of five and. Eleven and they they need young talent. On this roster In between The rookie classes we're trying to break into SuperBowl, caliber rosters and that's that's a tall order for. A rookie so, you know watching the rookies play yahtzee interact with the, big boys especially when they put the pad John and a couple of days and see how case. Keenum orange thanks That's And. Eleven you look for a new, spark and those are the two things that will give it to the Broncos this, year at least at this. Point, well, Mike you look at these rookies that we do have who are some guys that have to hit in order for this to be a successful. Class Well job I I mean I would go in descending order or ascending order Chubb Cortlandt Sutton Royce, Freeman, you start, with their you gotta hit on two of those three you know MRs in Cortlandt Sutton and Freeman hit I still think that's a pretty good class, Josie Joel is the other big hitter on this team. In the, fourth round DeJean Hamilton they have hopes for him as a as. A number, you know, he could, eventually develop into a number two number three, type receiver but yeah those are. You know just just take it as they pick them my guess would, be the best and then you do hope, that hit on one of the guys later you know whether it's, beer barrier The, six Ron linebacker Sam Jones a local guy was taken in the six round. Puma. Golly, in the fourth David Williams running back from Arkansas everyone around here loves Philip Lindsey of course she you guy on drafted but William. David Williams is jacket ahead of? Them so we'll see what they like. Their and Justin Holland another undrafted guy outside. Linebacker. To keep an eye on you know especially in case Shane Ray really can't go, you know to be effective this year he's got a. Chance so, yeah I'd say all overall you need three guys to hit for. It to, be a. Good draft, class yeah Mike John Elway said today that, he believes that the moves they. Made the off season will enable them to compete for a playoff spot, where do you stand on that Yeah I think You know I think that's a safe way, to put it but. It is, compete, feel eight eight you're competing for. A playoffs spot generally you're you're competing for a playoffs, spot with, that you know through fourteen fifteen weeks, of the season and that's where I have this. Team right now I have them. At eight eight but as, one coach said if you're if you're an eighteen year a couple of bounces, away. From tenant six so, they got a they, got a, chance you know I think there's a lot. Of, quiet competence Over here at UC health training. Center it's, one of those things where the being very careful not to make any, proclamations you, know that they're going to go twelve and four, the win the AFC. West again, you're, not hearing any of that I. Think they believe they can but they're not ready to, spout off, with that really the keys case keenum, let's face it you're you're it's about the quarterback. In this league the Broncos brought. Him in to make a, difference if case keenum plays you know eighty percent of what he did last, year. With the Vikings you, know maybe the Broncos, can go, a little better than eight and you know Nine and seven. Teams have made it before so eight Nate native for, the Broncos in two thousand. Eleven, the Tibo year so I think. They will improve I I mean, I've got him at eight eight doesn't usually make. The playoffs but you are. Contending for the. Playoffs with. That type of season definitely hey Mike. We have about thirty seconds left I know a lot of fans will, be coming, out tomorrow to watch the Broncos dairy training camp what are. Two specific, poop position groups that you'll be looking at as position battles this year Running back because devante Booker. And Royce. Freeman how serious are. They about Freeman see what they do with. The Angelo. Henderson as opposed to Williamson and Lindsey that's one spot the other. Would probably be along I I. Never. Watched the, offensive line I I won't. Say that but maybe inside linebacker, Josie Joel to see how quickly they move him in and then. You. Know, that, at number three receivers will they. Will Cortlandt Sutton wind up on the outside and Emmanuel Sanders go inside on the on the slot. When they have three receiver sets my great stuff as always thank you we'll see you tomorrow She guys there goes Mike Klis, our Broncos insider from. Nine news brought to us by Colorado wins for responsible energy development learn the facts at cred dot. Org we'll talk a little baseball voice the Rockies Jack Corrigan live from chorus field but first a check of traffic with John Morrissey things. Have settled down a little bit Mike is starting. To see things loosen up a little bit at least down here the, high country drive is still pretty heavy from the best teams traffic center. Making your way on westbound I seventy from Beaverbrook right at the top of Floyd hill all the way down past Idaho springs it. Over to Georgetown you're pretty heavy seat dot says it's an hour and a half, to get from golden up to, the Eisenhower Johnson tunnels if you're heading west to eighty five is busy to, a starting to. See that c. four seventy drive. Eastbound, out of golden settled down you're. Still a little bit slow, approaching Morrison road and. Then. Just after two eighty-five making your way down toward. Ken Carol your drive on chief or seventy across highlands ranch heaviest around Santa Fe on the westbound side northbound I twenty five slow from dry creek out through the tech center and up into downtown southbound is better it's still pretty. Heavy from sixth avenue South they've cleared a couple of ramp crashes out of your. Way that crash from Sheridan onto eastbound sixth avenue has gone, and from northbound I. Twenty five on Broadway but a couple of problems on I seventy right now westbound I seventy at Colorado you've got an accident there westbound I seventy at two seventy jamming you up so you Nissan intelligent mobility can certainly come, into play there and..

"It's way better and i'm glad i found out about it anyway you guys know the deal we do tap pick sleeper selection we'll see undrafted gem we're moving on friend of the nfc and the afc west let's start with the afc west let's start with the broncos who i felt like had a really good draft friend based on what i know i would agree on look at the list again right now just eight they first of all they had a ton of picks i mean you had a one a two to three to fours two sixes i mean they came away with a hall but then you look at the classes a whole bradley chubb great player portland sutton very intriguing player josie jewel in the fourth round day dejean hamilton in the fourth round choice luma golly in the fifth round like they were just racking up really solid player so i thought they did a good job overall as far as the topic is i think it's chub and for a lot of reasons look we've talked about why bradley chubb is is the best pass rusher in this class i don't think he's got the highest upside necessarily thank he's going to be a really good player i just don't know that he's ever going to be you know that number one super feared tass rusher that's gonna wreck games on a weekly basis but guess what they don't need him to be that they've got von miller and that's the kind of the beauty of the bradley chubb pick is that this will allow him to really be that really strong number two guy guy that's going to be a force and he's going to get his sheriff plays on the other side of the line of scrimmage but they don't need him to be this elite number one pass rusher because they've got that one guy on the other side bradley is one of the most row rounded players in this draft one of the most well rounded pass rushers that i've watched in the last few years so i'm really excited about the pick i'm excited about the fit i think it was a really good selection head about the sleeper for the broncos.

"Nba excitement continues on tnt on the wants to you in ti nba playoffs good check tom i'm like five why i'd be better as the crucial minutes out where we live all right time to grade one of my favorite drafts if not actually this was my highest grade right here this was the only team that got a solid a the jets i previously said got an a minus that was some b pluses in there there's a there's another a minus still on the board to come but the denver broncos get an a for me i kill john elway all the time he crushed this one which tells me he might be getting some help bradley chubb at five homerun slam dunk cortlandt sutton in the second round to me next alshon jeffery slam dunk i like royce freeman in the third round i think he could be solid iky diem i mean another third round tough scrappy defensive back i'm not that hi josie jewel but i'm not gonna complain about it in round four day sean hamilton i think in be i think is the ceiling of a number two in the fourth round and i'm not hiring choi puma golly you know i didn't know a ton about sam jones before the draft but when you talk about the you know just taking developmental depth lyman in the six round on fine with it and see keyshawn area at that point of the draft of versatile linebacker the broncos crushed this draft i think they got a starter a high end starter and bradley chubb i think they got a high end starter and cortlandt sutton i think they got a good rotational back in freeman and i think dejean hamilton and i can can probably fill starter rolls down the road that's a slam dunk so when we say we're going to afc grades i i wrote my down on a piece of paper and thought i'm going to be way higher on denver.
