"<SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> Yeah, I'm sure after <Speech_Female> listening to this, people are going to <Speech_Male> want to know, okay, well, what <Speech_Male> was she doing? <Speech_Female> Specifically. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> And <Speech_Female> you're sharing a lot of <Speech_Female> your journey to on <Speech_Female> there too, <SpeakerChange> right? <Speech_Female> So I <Speech_Female> am. I am, <Speech_Female> you know, this <Speech_Female> is my first breast <Speech_Female> cancer awareness <Speech_Female> month as a survivor <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> I'm not going to lie. <Speech_Female> I shed a lot of tears <Speech_Female> the past few days. <Speech_Female> It kind of hit me <Speech_Female> differently. <Speech_Female> I didn't <Speech_Female> expect it to hit like that. <Speech_Female> And <Speech_Female> it just, <Speech_Female> it hit <SpeakerChange> me hard <Speech_Female> kind of the last few days, <Speech_Female> but I'm like, you know <Speech_Female> what? If I can <Speech_Female> take a negative <Speech_Female> and turn it into <Speech_Female> a positive <Speech_Female> for someone else, <Speech_Female> then that's <Speech_Female> what I want to do. <Speech_Female> So that's kind of <Speech_Female> been what <Speech_Female> I've tried to do over <Speech_Female> these last several <Speech_Female> months. And just be <Speech_Female> very transparent <Speech_Female> that I have good <Speech_Female> days, <SpeakerChange> I have <Speech_Female> great days. I have a lot of <Speech_Female> good and great days, <Speech_Female> but I <SpeakerChange> have days <Speech_Female> where, you know, <Speech_Female> they're not so great <Speech_Female> too. And that's <Speech_Female> okay. That's part of <Speech_Female> this journey. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> Right. That's a <Speech_Female> really important thing <Speech_Female> to say. You <Speech_Female> know, we don't want <Speech_Male> people think you're just like, <Speech_Female> ah, <Speech_Female> this was a breeze, <Speech_Female> you know, she's definitely <Speech_Female> not saying that at all. <Speech_Female> But I think you're <Speech_Female> <Speech_Male> very positive <Speech_Male> too in your mindset. <Speech_Male> And I think that's <Speech_Female> really helpful. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> The only <Speech_Female> thing you have any <Speech_Female> control over <Speech_Female> when you get diagnosed <Speech_Female> with cancer is <Speech_Female> your mind and <Speech_Female> your attitude. <Speech_Female> Your mindset and your attitude. <Speech_Female> You can't <Speech_Female> control anything <Speech_Female> else that's happening. <Speech_Female> Trust me. <Speech_Female> I'm a control freak, <Speech_Female> and that was one of the <Speech_Female> hardest things <Speech_Female> for me to deal with. <Speech_Female> But I <Speech_Female> tried to control <Speech_Female> my mindset and <Speech_Female> my attitude as much <Speech_Female> as I could. <Speech_Female> As much as I could, <Speech_Female> I tried to keep <Speech_Female> that positive and <Speech_Female> upbeat <Speech_Female> because I knew it was <Speech_Female> only going to help me get <Speech_Female> through it. <SpeakerChange> Yeah, <Speech_Female> and so true. Well, <Speech_Female> thank you so much for <Speech_Female> coming on and <Speech_Female> sharing <Speech_Female> so many details. <Speech_Female> I think we hear <Speech_Female> stories of this. And we <Speech_Female> don't know really any <Speech_Female> of these details. <Speech_Female> And if I <Speech_Female> was diagnosed <Speech_Female> or thought <Speech_Male> maybe this is <Speech_Male> what was going on with me, I <Speech_Male> would want to know all <Speech_Female> these things. <Speech_Female> So I think that people will <Speech_Female> really get a lot from <Speech_Female> this. So thanks for <Speech_Female> sharing. <SpeakerChange> Thank you. <Speech_Female> Well, thanks for having <Speech_Female> me. It's been great <Speech_Female> to be here <Speech_Female> spending time with you, ladies. <Speech_Female> I know. <Speech_Female> Well, thank you <Speech_Female> guys for listening. <Silence> <Music> Thank you guys <Speech_Music_Female> so much for listening <Speech_Music_Female> to this episode <Speech_Music_Female> and if you love

"Pretty much be down like Friday and Saturday, but by Sunday, I would pop right back up. Like I would just, I'd spend a few days on the couch, binge watching Netflix or whatever, reading, you know, and then I would come back up, you know, and usually by Monday Tuesday, I was kind of getting back into my normal routine. Yeah, I saw you were even working out. Yeah. I did. Usually I was back working out by that following week. I would take those few days off. I would allow my body the time. I had a really big appetite through chemo. I did not feel sick. I did not feel nauseous. There were a few times where I got queasy. Okay. But I wouldn't say like nauseous. I was actually really hungry. Probably because of the steroids and everything else. But, you know, for the most part, for those three months of chemo, except for those few days, I was just, I was living my life. I was kind of doing my thing, if you will. And did you have a really good support system throughout this? I know this is so important to people to take care of you and to nurse you and the things that you need so that you can rest because I want you to elaborate a little bit. You really did live a healthy lifestyle going through this process, which is so important is probably why you handled everything so beautifully. So can you elaborate on some of those important things that things that you've done or that you're doing that are really helping you through this process? One, I think the way that I eat, you know, I think when you, when you know how to fuel your body, it's only gonna help you. I truly believe that's why I recovered from my mastectomy so well and so quickly, I truly believe that that's why I thrived while going through chemo is because, you know, I eat a very healthy I use food as fuel and that just helped me more than anything else number one. Number two, being active, like you have to, you know, my oncologist said, you want to keep your normal routine as much as you can. Even if it's just taking walks, it doesn't have to be a workout, but trying to move. I mean, even in those days where I told you the chemo took me down and I felt terrible and I was on the couch. I still made it out for a walk. It may be was only 5 or ten minutes, but I still got myself up and I went outside and I took in the sunlight and the fresh air and made myself do a walk. And having that support around you as well. Yes. I mean, my Friends started a meal train for me, so the weeks of my chemo treatments, having meals, you know, not having to cook. That's one less thing. Having friends or family help with your carpooling and

"So when you have a mastectomy, they remove your breast tissue, they remove the cancer. And then they have to study it further because that first look is just initial. So they send it out to get further testing and when it came back, they found that I had what's called isolated cancer cells in my lymph nodes. Now, medically, they still consider that to be negative lymph nodes. Okay. But it meant that there were a few cancer cells that had traveled to my lymph nodes. Okay. So what did they recommend for you for treatment after that? So because of a lot of factors with my final pathology, one being the isolated cancer cells to being that they give the tumors a grade, grade one through three, one being, I guess, the better number three being the worst, the higher number, both of my tumors came back as grade three. And then they do something called an onco type, which studies the tumors to look at their rate of reoccurrence. It kind of like, you know, dissects the cancer into how likely is that this cancer is going to come back. And it comes back with a number. You basically get a score. And anything 15 or under. And these numbers vary if you're pre menopausal versus postmenopausal. So I should mention that. I mean, I was premenopausal. So being premenopausal, if your uncle score comes back 15 or lower, you're in the clear. You don't need chemo, your rate of reoccurrence is really, really low. If your uncle score comes back between 16 and 25, that's considered the gray zone. And that's when they have to look at other factors. And then if your uncle score comes back higher than 25, you are getting chemo. Or they recommend that you definitely get chemo that debated, I guess. Mine came back at 21. Okay. So I came back in that high gray zone. So they did not like my chance of reoccurrence.

"And we're going to get into that because I know you did that in a minute, but so after you found out, you had that gene mutation. Who did you see? What did you do at that point? So my OB referred me to a breast oncologist because he really was not sure what he was supposed to do with me. He didn't, he didn't know what I was supposed to do now to be proactive. So I started seeing a breast oncologist and she said I had to be screened every 6 months. Okay. And it had to be a combination of, and I was 37 at the time, by the way. So I was not getting mammograms. I was not doing anything for screenings yet. So the breast oncologist said you're going to have to start getting screened every 6 months with a combination of mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRIs. So you had to do one of those basically every 6 months. Okay. And then, you know, seeing her every year as well, just as another doctor that was doing a professional breast exam. So I kind of spaced out when I saw her. And when I saw my obese, so like twice a year, I was getting that professional exam, if you will. Yeah. And did they find anything when you got, what did you do first? What testing? He did memo and that first time at 37, I had a memo and ultrasound. They saw nothing. I was pretty good about my screenings initially. Now, with the MRI, I did not the MRI was with contrast. And I did not want to put contrast in my body every single year, a friend of art that's a radiologist actually said, don't put contrast in your body every year at 37 years old. Start that now. So my oncologist and I had agreed that I would only do the MRIs every couple years. We would try to space it out.

"We have my friend deirdre ference on. She is a breast cancer survivor and she is here to tell us all about her story from before she got diagnosed to getting diagnosed to what she's done since and her journey with chemo, her healthy lifestyle and how that played a role in her recovery. So let's welcome deirdre. Hey guys, let's welcome deirdre deirdre is my friend from fourth grade. So we have a long history together. We were best friends for years and we kind of lost touch over going to different schools and but of course through Facebook. We found each other again with like so many people. So DJ and I have been talking a lot lately because she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. So this is breast cancer awareness month and we wanted to have dieter come on and tell her story because it's a great story and I think that the listeners you guys are going to get a lot from this. So let's welcome deirdre. Hello. Thank you so much for coming on. We appreciate it. Thank you for having me. All right, so let's talk about let's kind of start from the beginning. How did this whole thing come about? How did you even find out that you had breast cancer? So I have a history of cancer in my family. My grandmother on my mother's side actually had breast cancer twice. She had it at age 50 and got it again at age 80 because when she was 50, she only had a single mastectomy because that's what they did then and then she ended up having to have the other side operated on 30 years later. Wow. And then she did survive both times. She made it through. She lived to be in her 90s. And then my other grandmother actually passed away in her early 70s of ovarian cancer.

"We are all over the after hours action on this very busy night of earnings. Alphabet GM PayPal AMD Starbucks all on the move right now, all of the calls just getting underway with breaking down the quarter straight ahead. Plus, brace for more volatility. That is a warning tonight from BFA's savita subramanian why she is not giving an all clear to the recent market pullback. And later, remember this? Melissa sharp but then attack and we all know it's a fact Steve grassle showing love and triple price in the shed and people retweet while he's lived last morning friend cassius couvet is back and he was taking a new twist on the crypto trade. We're going to hear from him live coming up. Hopefully he'll wrap too. We start off with tonight's big tech report chairs of alphabet surging after posting a top and bottom line beat and announcing a 20 for one stock split. The conference call just got underway at the top of the hour. Let's get straight to deidre Bosa for all the details Devo. Melissa, a huge move in the after hours and this quarter really capping off a blockbuster year for alphabet profit nearly doubling over the year. Cloud continues to grow at a 40% plus rate year over year. This quarter, YouTube, while it did slightly miss the streets estimates, it is just a $1 billion behind Netflix's annual total. And now that 24 one stock split could make shares more widely appealing or accessible as with portrait told me to a wider group of investors. Think perhaps the Reddit crowd. The call is just kicking off. I'm looking at it right now. Usually send our pachai kicks it off. So we'll listen and monitor and let you know what else comes out of it. The last thing I'll mention was I did ask CFO Ruth port about the capital allocation plans given it's nearly a $140 billion cash pile. And of course, the rate of inflation, she said, no change in strategy, they priority is still organic growth. Some analysts have floated the idea of a dividend. No one was really holding up their breath for one. If they were they're going to have to continue to wait back to you. All right, debo. Keep us posted on the call. Deidre gross with the latest on alphabet Karen, a stunning move in the after session. What'd you like about the quarter? So I liked the numbers obviously. I liked the revenue. That was very good. The beat. And when you have a big revenue beat and a business like theirs with huge margins, you get a big bottom line beat. So that was nice. There was a lot to like about it. And then aside from the business, which is doing great, and that's really nice to see. There was this 24 one split, which I was very surprised to see, honestly. I thought they really didn't care what price their stock trade is at. And I know it's just math, it doesn't make any difference. The company is what it is. But the 24 one split does allow a whole new group of investors, those that trade options, for example. And there are no baby shares like there are in Berkshire. So even though there are places you could buy parts of the share, this allows other investors who have been shut out by the high price to be able to invest in Google. So that's really good. To dangerous point about the capital allocation, I'd like to hear some more about buybacks. They know they announced the big one last year. I think they have some room left on that. I would love for them to reload on that because with the cash flow generation they have. That was really only about a one year's worth of cash flow. And as she said, they have that enormous cash hoard. The other thing I'm glad they don't have a dividend. I feel like when you're a big tech company and you become a dividend payer, you're sort of saying we're a little older. More mature. And that to be also signals O slower growth. So I'm fine with no dividend. I'd be happy to see a special dividend. But to not lock themselves into being a dividend payer, that's fine with me. So all that I think very good news and it bodes well for the other social media for Facebook certainly, which is up and snap and Pinterest and the strength in search obviously and ads that that's going to be a good read through for all of those names that Karen had mentioned. So alphabet themselves big supporter of the stock in terms of buybacks potentially, a new class of investors, another support in the stock guy. There is a lot to like about this story at this point. What do you like the most about this quarter? What would you nitpick? No, there are no nitpicks here. I mean, you talk about YouTube and Mike santelli just Mike santoli, excuse me, just talked about. I mean, they're going to do $34 billion in revenue this year, which is, you know, it's quite a number when you think about it. There's nothing to nitpick. What you like about this is an arena now where valuation is clearly a concern. You can make an argument that at 25 times this year's numbers, which, you know, if you do the math, that's what we're looking at. It's probably cheap. And that's probably just starting a $120 a share. You can make an argument that probably closer to one 31 35. So I think this stock is poised once again to trade north of 3000. I don't think any of us have really run from this name. I was surprised to get as low as it did and instead of $2500 handle on it a couple of days ago, but this is a great quarter. Is this stock do for rereading Dan Ethan? I mean, also, we need to dig down in the numbers what was interesting in terms of was the geographic diversity of the revenue growth. We saw 30 plus percent growth in various geographies around the world search, obviously the strength there indicates also strength and travel and that comeback trade. Yeah, no, I mean, listen, both Karen and guy are spot on with everything. There's really nothing to nitpick here and the valuation..

"On the flip side, the productivity and the empowerment and the hours that employees are gaining. The time cutting out two to three hours of commutation, having the flexibility to take a trial to school, throw in laundry, and then work until 8, 9, 10 o'clock, whatever it is to get it done because you're raising your own self to a level of responsibility, accountability. We're trying to create a culture of accountability. How do you get a culture of accountability? Must give trust. You must inspect what you expect. So the challenge I see is more for the employer than it is the employee in the hybrid and door remote. I mean, we've been remote since March of 2020. I never, ever thought we could all be remote. And I can say I can never imagine being back in an office. So here's where it won't work. It won't work if you are absent. Because that doesn't work whether you're all together physically or not. There are things that you need to be aware of. So we have team huddles. Every morning, 15 minutes. We have team Hudson in the afternoon. We're seeing more of each other, where communicating more with each other. And when we're on a Zoom, yes, there is zoom burnout or Skype, or whatever you want to say. But we're a 100% present. "Our purpose is to make sure we are using our fuel how we are hardwired to literally do that cognitive peace is just as important as, if not more important, then salary, Ben. Really, any other kind of success. Every individual and I have allocated over 4000 of these assessments inside family businesses, C suite, across the country, different industries, and for all 4000 plus individuals, it becomes aha, it explains so many things to the individual, but then when you start to piece it out, work with the information in an organization, that's where the results come in, not just for the individual, of course, but for the company. And if you're a manager to not have this, I don't know how you manage someone effectively if you don't have that information. You're intuiting it or guessing it and there may not be buy in at the other end with the person being managed and it's crazy. Just to keep moving forward, what's the fourth pillar? So the fourth action mode is called implementer. Sometimes confusing, we could be how we implement, but it's literally the use of implements. So tools, tangibles. And what's fascinating. So I've done this so many times. So I will get a group together, and now I'm going to put all four action modes together. And I'll take my highest fact finder my highest follow through my highest quick start my highest implementer. I asked them to leave the room, and then I ask everybody else just observe what happens when I bring them back. They come back. I have them face a wall and on a table. I have what we call glop shop. There's vaccines allocated. There's vaccines delivered. And then there's vaccines put in arms. People forget that we've always underfunded public hell's going back several decades and so chronically. We need to continue to fund state and local public health better. I want people to know that as someone who used to run a health department, I've been out on the ground with the with the Health Department since September, Dr Burke has been out on the ground. We've been working with them to ramp up their ability to administer these vaccines. From a federal perspective, we are on track to have 20 million people able to be vaccinated doses on the ground. By the end of next week, it's general partner said. So we're on track. From that perspective. We just got to help the state and local entities get those vaccines administered and into body of an armed federal government's been a lot of money on these vaccines. Breaking Down the Busiest Day of Earnings, and Whats Next for the Markets
"Well the alphabet bouncing back in the third quarter among big tech. Of course, it has been the underperformed the pandemic. Now, seeing outperforming the after hours core advertising revenue returning to growth after its first revenue decline in more than two decade history that was last quarter key is what the company sees going forward. On this point they didn't really give us much CFO port telling me that they did see a broad recovery and advertising this past quarter, and that was in line with the economic recovery. But she said they're still uncertainty on the call. She said that there are signs that user behavior is beginning to return to normalize levels everything else guys was strong from Youtube revenue to play to cloud which revenue forty, five percent going forward. Co. Sender. said that they will further breakout cloud as a reporting segment so that investors can track aggressive investment and progress. Of course that reflects clouds growing importance to alphabets, overall business, and perhaps the competition their lost the guys I would just note that there have been at least two questions on the DOJ lawsuit and increased antitrust scrutiny which has been building around the world back over to Melissa Deidre. Thank you. Depot with alphabets results, Tim Seymour. This as Deirdre had mentioned had been the laggard going in among the big tech science for the year, a laggard versus its peers laggard, versus the Nasdaq are we setting up here for? Dairy. Say a Golden Age for alphabet. Well, the profitability I look at the the the massive beat here on the bottom line is very encouraging for Google shareholders who've been a little frustrated and yes. If I had to sum up earnings of the big four here, there's no question that the response to the share prices is is a function of really where these stocks have come from not come from. I I love the fact that Youtube is now five billion dollar business. I think that's going a lot higher the fact that the cloud is three point four billion to me breaking out, and if you look at all these separate businesses in addition to the core search Juggernaut, which is showing no signs of weakness at growth backup close to ten percent. So yes, Google is way too cheap at a time when the three other copies were. Talking about and even facebook which struggles on the low end evaluation scale have re rated and Google has not and Google really I think took a major step here, but it's about breaking it out too bad transparency and I think that's part of what we're getting there I mean the saying that it will from this point on breakout cloud gene seems to be a very good sign a sign of confidence in the growth of that business. It is I think it speaks to a bigger opportunity with the stock. We talk a lot about search. We talked a lot about cloud breaking out. Cloud is an indication. You know they WANNA get more at illuminating other parts of business, and of course, there are other beds. This is not above the fold and the. Today but I think any investor who is buying Google right now should pay close attention. They've got some gems in there. Other pets around longevity around the future transportation sensitive in flight, and so I think about this the numbers it's nice to see the swing back in the growth rate snap back to a normal level for Google, but I think it sets up A. Very. Simple. A narrative around Google, which is stable core business and other beds which could provide some upside of the multiple years to come Karen I, want I want your take on Alphabet I'm wondering if this confirms, we already believed about the company and its valuation or if this makes you feel like it deserves an even higher valuation than you. Thought Twenty four hours ago. Feel like Mike Pence. There was just a fly there I think that it does deserve a higher valuation remember Google has one of the biggest cash hoards ever and so we saw a little bit of by back here. I think about maybe about eight billion I'd like to see them do more but this is really a validation and remember Google has much more exposure to the travel business obviously travel. Is. This is not where you want to be right now, and so I think that they're going to continue to see improvement it should be higher. It's actually been surprisingly weak. So if I didn't own any, I would probably buy some even up. It's hard to buy something up this much but I would want to own it because this is an extraordinary business and there's a lot to like remember this. Is An. Evolution when Ruth pour out, got their sort of grown up and then she started to show broke up the two businesses. We started the at more clarity will get some more on cloud. So I really like this
