"Josh norman draper. Patrick what do you think happens if moseley can't go and i guess before we get into that. Should we be worried about moseley. Because is this going to be a thing all season. He is the one guy that they have left who has starting experience who has played out a high level in the nfl. Obviously he's been up and down last year more. So but what do you think about moseley. I i want. I want to address one thing before really gets like cornerback. Debt and i listen to you all podcast. I heard rob's viewpoint on this and other people it's it's tough to really have deep debt. You know what i'm saying. But i always try to look at. What is the coaching staff thinking. So couple years ago most people were like fourteen hundred. Neither draft a quarterback drafted. Cornerback is they are. They need to drive a cornerback. Like all these look at the situation that the forty niners are you richard sherman. They had available this in as well. I'm good with these guys start. Didn't they also had a menu moseley and with him and spooning was kind of a battle for who is going to be the one that actually ends starting in jason barrett who was like a veteran. Then obviously are the guys like dante and stuff. But you look at that situation. Do i draft a quarterback high. That's gonna come in. Is he gonna play over. Richard sherman probably not is hydraulic. Gonna play over a spoon and mostly right now that you actually just what to do and you know that these guys can both play well in stretches probably not right because if he doesn't beat those guys out then what you know you've got hijacked they just sitting on the bench and that's typically never ideal so a. I understood them really not going all into a corner at that spot that year heading into this year. This was definitely a situation where the forty niners definitely could address a quarterback even high if they would like to but i'm trying to look at it from their perspective and they looking at like we have Jason ver- we have a million moseley. We are good with these guys starting. We're starting but we definitely need to start kind of getting an influx of young talent at the quarterback position. So what do they do they go. They drive ameri. Thomas who a lot of people that would go higher. If you actually play last season he was a guy that tested well. He has decent size movement skill ability. And things like that. So you know what. We'll we'll see what happens with this guy. This is a highly talented guy. Let's see how it works out. He opted out for the season. But you get him because you feel like you know what there's no rush to bring a third string god or third round guy right now and have him out to play over mostly or over adjacent he can learn at his own pace or whatever and then you double down and you draft another corner in the fifth round with the dollar nor so. I looked at it as where some people are like well. They didn't address corner. And i'm like what were they did. They had to starting corners and moseley everett and they drafted two guys. That could potentially be guys moving forward now. The tough thing is and most teams would deal with this situation. It is never ideal to lose two starting corners season. You know like if you if you go into a game like they are this week and you're down your to starting corners. I don't care who you are. you're going to be in trouble. And i did hear rob kind of say well known if they lose rat they're going to be in trouble and if anything lose their best cornerback. They're in trouble. We're going to whoever is coming in is not as good as the guy. Who's the best cornerback on their team. You can look at the philadelphia eagles. If they lose sleigh like those else. Do they have the rams. If they lose ramsey julia like most of these teams they lose their top guy or two of the top dies. They're going to be in some trouble. And i think that's what the forty niners are kind of in it right now in a sense of who. I think we're kind of play. The you gotta look at dante johnson. And and he's a guy who has entirely seen. But i i don't i think for i try to look at it for what he is and don't they is not somebody that you bring in because you want him to be a number one corner or never to corner or when you're number three corner because right now they're down to the number four outside guy and williams so talk to do after one week. Football took that is a that is a situation that you don't wanna be in but if you are going to be in that situation i think you are somewhat okay and you'll try to figure out different things to do. They brought in normal. They brought in a jacob patrick to try to figure out. Well you know they were down to johnson. We don't really want to have to play him. But we know he's at the very least serviceable. You talked about him really knowing the defense he's been around for a bunch of years. Outside of their one year he was away. He knows what they like to do. He's been around this coordinator he is at the very least serviceable to where he's not gonna look like brian. Allen looked against the miami dolphins last year. there's going to be tough moments which we saw the passing appearance. We saw a goal line touchdown but then there are other. What about three other targets vertically down the field where he covered will and. I think that's what you would likely want to see from the guy that you don't to have to play. We'll see what happens. Moving forward with the other guys that they brought in. Who could patrick. I'm not necessarily high on him. Never really was a big fan of us. Have one year where he played decent. And josh norman who i think is definitely prep past his prime with that. Don johnson are. Do you think that he's going to get the nod over the lights of norman and kirkpatrick just because he's been there just because he knows because if if you were to break it down. I imagine dante runs better than those to which is raised. And you look at this. Is the team that the four hundred plenty against man in the and they got guys that can move guys can run. So you're going to have to ask yourself kellyanne josh norman. Canker patrick match the movement skills of devante smith or jalen rigor and i think that can definitely be a challenging position for both of those guys. I mean you can even ask that question for the almodovar nor who i think. Probably the best out of the forty niners guys. That are playing right now but still vertically with these guys backs where the biggest issue with the you're in if teams darted realize. Well he's not really. He doesn't really have that next year. Let's start trying him vertically which didn't happen against lions aside from the one where they actually had to beat the i was gonna say they should have completed that. Passive golf was worth a damn. He's completing that passed. and it. I don't wanna say touchdown but it's definitely an explosive play on that laura's is were caught in the backfield. That was a problem on two several plays. I remember where he's a speaking of the backfield any lose sight of whereas guy is and that's how i got behind go ahead. I think that's the reason why you ideally want to see. Amber thomas start to take this new those steps in the next direction because he has the physical capability in all the intangibles that you want from your guy but right now he's just what it was just bad luck or he's just not playing well is not going well. You can't just go out there and put him out there targeting them like three times. He played like nine snaps. They charge them three times and had like three catches and one was a vertical pass. Like so he just looks like he has zero confidence in himself. I think he needs to make a play. I think it's really that simple when watching him. Because he's playing so passive in that was against the lions receivers who don't have speed like nobody on the lions why On the nyons roster perimeter wise is going to scare you and he was just giving so much cushion where i think he's playing not to get beat as opposed to just you know play lose playing fast and playing..

"To number three in the football podcast. So we've been we're always number one. Every blue moon will be number two but after we want. We were number three. So our numbers weren't we were expected to nine fans. May we need to listen back in or whatever you know but ho co host of nashville my guy brand peacock and also co host of locked on nfl draft. Which will start next monday. So i'm really excited about that so and that'd be coming to you know all streaming platforms and youtube is well. Sounds like you guys didn't finish strong. The like the forty niners and that's why slipped today we're gonna talk about defence and defence only mainly the secondary so first. Let's talk about what we saw on the field. We don't have to talk about jason right because as a sore subject and everybody knows it's just painful to see that it was it was tough. The hardest part was seeing him. Walk off the field because he knew that wasn't even the hardest part for me. I mean because guys get hurt and you know there comes to football but for me. It's kind of really knowing the adversity that he's had to fight through and battle to for the last four or five years and finally kind of like look like he's gotten back on track Last year being able to finish off the year and plays the will and the expectation is that you know fans myself team had on him heading into this year and for it to be all gone in week one. I think that was the toughest thing for for me. Just understanding like the mental aspect of that and how hard that probably has to be on them like shoes. I felt like crying with him. That was that was tough and not even because of the forty niners just because of him human what it meant like as a man and you know how how. He supports his family. Yeah man it sucks so for those who don't know. Cover the chargers from twenty fourteen to twenty seventeen. So i've been everywhere that jason been the first time that i saw him his rookie season in two thousand fifteen. He was unreal. Everything that we've seen last year is exactly how it's been is entire career so to see him come back from. I believe it was like four season. Inning knee surgeries and still fight through it. I it's painful man but for niners have other players. We need to talk about so one of them jammed or nor the other dante johnson. We have amber. Tom's you have a bunch of guys who need to talk about. But i wanna talk about the safety and i want to talk about quest guitar because to me. He was one of the top three players on the forty niners defense. He was incredible. And yes he gave over touchdown. That's the first thing that you're going to remember when you think about the game. What do you mean he had a game. He gave a five yard. Our route to tj hopkinson. That's one flag and that does not define his game he had so many plays where he's aggressively fitting against the run like beating blockers. Wrong arming tight. Ends doing a bunch of things that you know. Maybe the casual fan might not notice but he was a reason on a few plays at the forty nine to ray would get off the field. He had that one play again. Another one that's gonna come your mind. I where he's in the middle of the field he's rent. It was a rangy play. If you see it from the all twenty two angle. But he hits the defender or he's a wide receiver in the helmet. And he gets flagged for a fifteen yard penalty so those are going to be a two plays at most people. Think of during the game but to me. That was a great play Yes he should go probably an inch to lower. But what would you think about that play. They got to change his role. And i think that there has to be Some emphasis on the intent of the hit if you have a divas back diving in the air laying out four ball. And there's some incidental contact with his helmet and the receivers helmet. I feel like that. That's not. Is that what this bill is. Therefore like i thought it was the agrees. Hits the guy just coming across the middle of users decree. Am and his all to helmet. And he's like instant ct. Like that's what i thought. This was four. Not because it guys laying out to knock a ball away. And there's some incidental contact so they had to fix it. That wasn't terrific. Play by him. I think that shows some of the coverage ability that he has to be able to make plays like that in space. You talked about you know the five yard out. There was another kind of quick out or whatever that he got beat by hogson and get a good in hodgkinson played played will all game. I mean he was someone at the forty niners kind of struggled to really be able to contain. But it i i noted that name okay maybe the forty niners played a little bit more man coverage they would and used in that situation where a lot of times they would actually put jimmy war in that position where he'd be the down guy playing on the tide end and you have tart or whoever else Other of safety is he playing. So it's interesting to see that usage. And i wanna see the stay that way moving towards the eagles and his daughter and things like that but overall amount like i like that you pointed out a lot of the good and you point out the bathroom because i think a lot of fans miss out on a lot of context within plays like there was eighty plus plays in his game. You know how the defense play. So if you're getting people notice one or two plays out of eighty something then. I think you did have a good game on like no doubt about it and you do the same thing. If we wanted to flip the switch here. So i thought got the best of nick bosa nick. Both atta tackle for loss where he'd be saw yet a sack where he just walked in back in the backfield. So if you only saw those two plays. You're digging osa dominated school but if you watch the entire game back you're like whoa so can play because not many people can do that too. But let's stick here a while. I was going to say i think you know with the office. Divas line like it's tough because dealing like you're not gonna win every game was. You're probably going to lose more than you win. But for the most part of like how are you affecting the game. I thought there was good. Like i thought it was going on good. That's what you wanna see out of a battle. Both guys are competing. We've seen that with guys. i remember. Who was jason. Direct guarding dodgy hopkins last year. Like bread did extremely well but there were a few catches daddy gave up even and you saw him competing and it was. It was good on good. I think tool very bozo was clearly good on good. Both had some hurries. Got some things where he moved to quarterback obviously like to say. I got the fail. Had another couple fails got the sack but they're also plays where he got stonewalled in as we're su- is winning. So i look at the old line is supposed to win more in just ahead of battle but overall it was good. It was good battle. So as a defense lineman you are the best of the best win like twenty percent of the time right so. Just think about that the context. You're winning one out of five times. You are elite so yet good good for bosley in that regard. So let's talk about. Let's get back to the secondary wednesday manually. Still not practicing still has a knee injury. That is nobody no because obviously not there. And that means opposite of damned lenore let. Let's assume he starts for now. Just because he's been out there pretty much all during training camp and.

Predictions vs Reality NFC West, Seattle Seahawks

"I predicted the Seattle Seahawks to go 11:00 and 5 last year. I pretty much nailed it. They went 12 and for the only game I missed was the San Francisco 49ers. I could not predict that the $59 would have a bunch of injuries. I thought that the Seattle Seahawks and the 49ers would split their series each win one game against each other instead Seattle beat the 49ers in both games. So that's literally the one game it's kind of crazy. I was horribly wrong about the Cardinals the Rams the 49ers. I nailed Seattle. My prediction was right there for I'm actually not that interested in Seattle. Like I like I said, I'm actually way more fascinated when I get stuff horribly wrong. I said before the year that Seattle relies too heavily on Russell Wilson, they're starting quarterback 2000sq them from their problems and kind of ended up being true now, they brought in the receiver Phillip Dorsett. They brought in Phillip Dorsett from New England. I was curious to Phillip Dorsett kind of a breakout year and Go from a guy who was infuriating to watch a New England to maybe having a great season playing with Russell Wilson. Unfortunately Phillip Dorsett did not play a single game the poor guy hurt his foot in training camp and by November Phillip told I was getting surgery to remove bone spurs from his foot. I encourage you look up a bone spur does not look like a comfortable thing but credits yet. I Seattle try to get Russell Wilson some Playmakers. I thought we were set to not work out. Josh. Gordon did not work out. They brought in. You know Speedy Josh Gordon. He had a setback in recovery. Seattle had to end up cutting him so long so brought in Greg Olsen. They they got a veteran tight end Greg Olsen and I look I got a lot of respect for Greg Olsen. He's awesome. Last year Greg Olsen. However was underwhelming had 24 catches for 239 yards one touchdown played an only 11 games missed a couple of games with an injury. So in the end Greg Olsen retired, so Phillip Dorsett, Josh Gordon, Greg Olsen, like the move Seattle made to try to support Russell Wilson just didn't work out and that's not bad. It just it didn't it didn't work. Unfortunately right now again, I love Greg Olsen. He's amazing. I cannot wait to hear the guy in the broadcast booth next year. But now the one thing that came out very very well for Seattle on offense was DK Metcalf. G came back up Seattle second-year receiver. Oh my gosh. This guy is a monster. He had 83 catches for 1303 yards 10 touchdowns. I love to see that DK Metcalf is a receiver that is just at the beginning of his eventual domination over the NFL. He already does dominate in some games. So he keeps getting better and better and he keep getting better and better the more we watch him. Now as I look back on Seattle season, one of the things that kind of sticks out to me that's very weird still is I just did not love their 2020 first-round picks Seattle is kind of known for having weird. First round draft picks. They drafted linebacker Jordan Brooks 27th overall. And he was her early on so Jordan books now, I will say I'm not going to trash on Jordan books by the end of the year. He made some plays with doing some good stuff like Jordan Brooks. Very good football player solid right desert looks like a first-round pick the end of the year. But here's what's weird to me is that when the Seattle Seahawks went to a nickel package meaning that you bring in an extra corner or defensive back onto the field to basically stop the past when they win to track a package which is happening more and more in the NFL because teams are throwing more and more than ever before. In a nickel package. Jordan Brooks is on the sidelines not playing maybe part of that is because they were he's a rookie. They're trying to light workload. I don't know but it's kind of weird to draft a first-round pick and then not have the guy on the field. All the time makes me wonder despite Jordan Brooks being a very solid football game. Could they not have got drafted somebody 27th overall last year that could have contributed even more to their team. Just a question. I'm asking cuz I looked at it. I still book how it's bit of an odd pick life. Even though Jordan Brooks can play it's like whack could they not have done something better or maybe more interesting than Jordan Brooks just me asking a question here. You can answer for yourself. I'm just for me. I'm like man, you spend a first-round pick on a guy who's not on the field all the time,

How the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upset the New Orleans Saints to advance to the N.F.C. championship game.

"Drew brees tom. Brady eighty five years worth of quarterbacks second quarter at six three saints and then dan fish huge mistake by brief. Yeah first of all the internal pressure and second of all the physical. Play at the line of scrimmage by murphy bunting getting physical with the receiver michael thomas undercutting that outraged by drew brees. That throw was a huge tone. And that. I love the to mike evans big body in the red zone. Stay in between the quarterback and defensive back touchdown tampa bay for cash in ten six tampa ensuing drive seats trying to respond. This is james winstons. First career playoff past and dan take a look at the triggering. Yeah love the beautiful design and then trey smith leaking down the middle field. But this is really about everyone paying attention to alvin kamara. Watch the tailback in. How many blocks defenders run that way. They lead tricon smith on blocked out here. You big cat. Take great play designed by matt. Nagy that sean payton carries over to yesterday saints thirteen. Ten is the advantage there. Bucks get a field goal. So we're tied up at halftime first. Possession of the second breeze to smith again beautiful. Throw we've seen so much by drew. Brees that incites thought. Fade carry into the sideline touchdown new orleans but then later in the third dan. This play changed the entire game. It's incredible winco junior yet. Tampa new orleans wins. The right they get that slant because it's man coverage but just watch that right hand come in on that back side punch to finish that playoff for tampa bay's defense. That ball bounces right to their defender to huge turnover for them saints turnovers and the bucks cashing in. That was the story of the game. Here's brady that's leonard. Four bucks tied up at twenty cook knows. That mistake was critical. Comes another one dan. Although this one clearly seems to be miscommunication yeah really. It's really just trying to get a vertically route to evan chimera out of the backfield but what happens is never liked. Does a remarkable job of playing with vision onto drew brees patient and then no wasted movement snaps drives on that football before kamera ever turns around and drew knows that was a terrible decision. Saints third turnover leads to this brady takes it himself. Tom brady giving the bucks a thirty to twenty lead. Only the rap isn't excited about it and one last chance now. Desperation time for freeze. That is tipped in the air. And that is all she

"Do you like. I do like to cook. I can cook okay. What's your what's your kind of. You have a specialty I do have a specialty in. It's my salmon. okay. How do you cook it I tell you. But i have to kill you. Is it grill So i mean. I do it like two different ways. I mean three technically i either put it in the oven. Cook it in the pan or put it in tin foil on the grill But most of the time for convenience in speed purposes do in the pan. But i usually put in a plastic bag in you know. Put like all my mouth loyal garlic. I'm not gonna want to all the seasonings but put it in there. Put in a bag for a few hours. in A shoutout andrew. Then i let it marinate in the fridge for a little while than i'll cook it later in a pan With some rice you know. Get a squeeze lemon on top afterwards. But yeah that and then. There's a pasta that i like to make. That's like a sun dried tomato garlic shrimp scampi that my uncle mongols in amazing cook like this guy can cook anything you can think of in. It's always the best. Like i'll go out to like four or five star restaurants in the same thing that my uncle makes in. It'll tastes like crap. Compared to what he makes really. Yeah i'm always on. He needs to open up a restaurant or a head chef somewhere because he's too talented not to be cooking somewhere. The what's your side dish with your salmon. I like brussel sprouts. Russell's brown's got brussels sprouts season. Brussels sprouts or. I'll go with like a spinach like gay olive oil with a little vinegar with dyestuff onions. "I think, even as an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, it's been Michael's Muthiah. I mean, my goodness that guy has been playing. I I feel like he's been playing better than I remember seeing him play at Iowa. I think I've maybe even said that before, but it's just, you know your time playing Iowa and he was always a solid tackler always descend and coverage. But he's really I mean, he's been one of the top two top three best rookie defensive backs in the entire NFL, I would say, or cornerbacks for sure with up there was Jalen Johnson of the Chicago Bears, and so It's been. It's been surprising, even for for you know, an Iowa Hawkeyes guy just coach Moody of things as well as he has so quickly. He's really come along and Man. He's Yeah, he's fun Player watch. He just he makes plays. He's been confident even after giving up big plays. So I've loved I've seen him. I've been very, very surprised by it. Now. I want to pick up that I delivered a bone to pick with you, though, because you did tweet out. I saw this yesterday. That is the reality. Most of us admitted that almost everyone was dead wrong about Michael. Oh, Jim Moody it from the start. Listen, man, if you if anybody's been listening to the show, I have won one of the biggest Oja Muthiah stands in Denver. So I'm used to say Not that I expected you to throw the caveat in there. But there was a moment I started to type of response. I'm like, no, I'm gonna have on the show. I'll talk to him, then about it. You're right. You're right. I totally spaced on that. But you're right about that. I remember the senior bowl tweets and man. My goodness I should have. I should have given you your problems that you are all on the train. So, Yeah, I remember it. You're you're right on and that that was a great call. I know you were calling for him throughout the draft as well. So Kudos to you for that. And I mean, my goodness. Yeah, that's that's a call from, you know, Deep three pointer right there from right now, but at the same time, I will admit there was a certain amount. We're out there the Senior bowl and I kind of called my shot about him. And then we start to watch practices and then you have kind of a shaky performance here and there because again, he's not. He's not really a A shutdown man up corner, right? That's that's not really why you have him on the Broncos team. So he did in these man up situations, and sometimes he'd get beat because that's what happens when you're a young corner. And so then you've been looks over at me every single time like as your boy that you're doing right there. What's going on that I'm like, man, I'm telling you, in the scheme of the right scheme with the progress with banjo would love this dude and You just kind of I mean, maybe, but he just got smoked. In fairness. The guy smoking him at that point was someone named Chase Claypool, who would have ever come onto the field to do that in the Steelers game, but right? It wasn't like he was getting scary One like he was getting dogged by no names. Exactly. What did you What did you like about him in Iowa? Like I mean, honestly, like the thing that jumped out to me was just mean The intelligence Hey, always seemed to be kind of in play, like, never seemed like he was out of it. And I just thought that his recovery was was really, really strong. Where times with Isaac Autumn or even, I guess, friend in Langley. If we want to go that far back, you know, they just They get kind of lost out there a times and he never seemed like that. Yeah, I think for me the thing at Iowa you know, it's knowing knowing the way that Kurt parents operates and not playing young guys a lot of the time Series a I wouldn't say he's like super religious about seniority, but it's rare for young guys to step in and big starting roles like starting cornerback starting quarterback. Eso. When OJ Moody has been out there for years, I felt like he was a veteran player at by the end of his time with the hot guys, you know, you just you know, that's a guy that the coaches trust. And you can see his physical and mental toughness from an early Woman early point just Ah, just a really tough guy all around tough guy that you want as as part of your team. Who's going to rally to the football in the matter if it's Ah, you know if it's a quick screen, or if he's on the backside of a play, he's always always in the picture. And I think to the big thing for me was watching him go up against Michael Pittman. Junior this this last game. You wash and play that game, and you do see some of those. Those man cover tendencies that you don't see a lot from him. But you saw the potential port in that game and just the way that he responded to a big situations, I think is, AH is another thing and given that, like just what the Broncos giving up a big play coming back and making the next play. It just shows your your mental fortitude as as a defensive back that you need to have to be successful in the NFL. One of the things that we've noticed lately is that the Broncos seemed to be using dude. Awesome or past situations is Thie is the inside linebacker, the other linebackers that were kind of playing a spur backer roll. Vic Fangio had reiterated earlier this year that he felt like the NFL was going to more of Ah, 60 be sets? No. Is this the the base and that could be the precursor to that? I know people have talked about the idea of upping the inside linebackers. But do you think that makes sense? If you think that it makes more sense to invest in Vic and what he believes is forward thinking using a safety in that role. I like that idea a lot, actually, especially if it means you get a player like Duke Dawson, who I thought he showed really well, really in that kind of a red shirt rookie year last year for the Broncos after missing most of his actual rookie season with New England. Just seeing him get AC Lemaitre did into kind of that nickel or dime backer role a little bit. And so I I love the idea personally, me and especially if if you know Josie Jewel and Alexander Johnson are going to be nothing more than they're going to be covering, you know, at least covering well, I think that's something that you have to look at. You know, you can't be out there. Against the Kansas City juiced in caught with your pants down all the time. Just because you have you know you want to put two linebackers out there and and so I think that forward thinking is huge in and we've seen Fangio make, you know, make some good calls like that in the In the past with other teams that he's been with us so I like that idea, especially if it means Duke Dawson is progressing because that's a guy you know, former second round draft pick who he played that kind of a role at times at Florida. And so that just shows to me that you're you're pro scouting and your college scouting and your coaching staff are also on the same page about specific guys that you've been keeping around who you're wondering, Why is this former second round pick? You know, not not turning out. We have a defensive specialist coaching staff. Ah, well, I think that that's just, um some unity on that front, a little, at least in a small way that these guys were really collaborating and working together to put together the best possible roster with With everyone involved Last couple questions here for you, Sarah Bed juror with predominantly orange joining us here on Broncos country tonight..

"So yeah, I wanna I wanna hit a couple of guys miscellaneous in and you can you can throw in anyone you might want. But I did want to mention thank you Larry Jonathan Jones had written about him. And he has a nice back story with his with his grandmother. It's very sweet. And and I don't wanna get carried away with that. Because that you know that doesn't affect how good you are as a player, but the thing that. When I watched him at Zona state and not that he's going to be this guy. But I always thought the Andre Hopkins. My watch them he really doesn't separate, but he's so acrobatic and his hands are so strong. And he so just insanely competitive, and it's tough. It's a fine line for for contested catch specialists like this going from the college level to the NFL level. But I feel like he has such such an incredible understanding of how to how to leverage defensive backs of the at the catch point. And and and basically just overall his ability to play with someone on his back. And then you went out and ran a it was a four five five. A lot of people thought he was going to run the four sixes. So I thought I mean, I kind of feel like he he ran himself back into the first round conversation. I I he can carry away with the like he ran this. And therefore, he really raises stock or something like that. But it was a red flag for him. And I think if you ran like a four six five four seven you would have seen him day too. But I think he's back in the day one conversation at this point. Yeah. No, absolutely. I think you know, that forty time was was exactly what he needed. And like you said you don't want to put too much doc into it. But teams like him because of his ball skills, and the the place he's able to make an end to additionally add that speed to it. I think was a huge plus for him. Yeah. Yeah. And a couple of running backs that that Sadat David Montgomery and demonstrate Terry neither of whom put up very good forty times there so contact balance. I mean, that's what it's all about for running backs at this point. And those guys are the best single Terry's. Also, so good catching the ball. I think both those guys are. If they go day three that would be crazy. I think they're still day. Two picks. This point the only guy you really truly disappointed was was probably Elijah Holyfield out Georgia who ran some. Sometimes it's just about avoiding red flags of the combine and yellow Holyfield ran a four seven nine, and that's it's tough to be day to prospect with and he does not have pass catching seals. They didn't use them in that capacity at at Georgia. And he didn't look good doing it at the combine. So this was a this is a tough tough couple of days for him. Yeah. I mean, you know, he's more of a power guy. But you don't think quite that. Yes. Low right. So I do think that you know, that was one of the ones that stood out as something that would you know, wouldn't hurt stock? Yeah. And the two that I'm looking at for Monday's workouts? And again, we are taping on Sunday, and I apologize. We we don't know what's going to happen in the future. But the two defensive, and as you mentioned it's teams are teams you can be defensive accident. Lot of good receivers coming to league now. But de'andre Baker who you You know. know, there was a lot of talk, greedy Williams or de'andre Baker during the year. De'andre Baker being the the Georgia Georgia cornerback that a lot of people thought was better pure cover guy than greedy Williams, but he showed up, you know, he's five eleven everyone thought he was too small, but he had thirty two inch arms, which obviously that that offsets that to an extent of he and Byron Murphy out of Washington, and I think by Murphy's little bit of a miniature, Marcus Peters clone. And I know that's kind of a lazy comparison because they're both Washington guys..

"Saturday at three AM eastern at NBC party at police house. One thirty AM tailgate starts for the Ryder Cup. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have sixteen defensive players on their roster that are smaller than Ben Rothlisberger. They have twelve defensive players bigger than Ben around this burger. When you're watching these players and it feels like that defenses have gone a little sleeker that you want faster players. You know your linebackers defensive backs, and Ben is such a big guy. Thank you. Don't realize that until you meet these guys in person. I mean, he's six five to fifty five in probably has played at bigger than that. And so whatever I see a quarterback who sort of thrown around like a rag doll, I always, I marvel at the defensive player is able to do that because some of these times some of the times you'll see these defensive players just gonna poll on them and then pull him to the ground. Now, there are quarterbacks that you know you're rounding, they don't look imposing. I mean, evenly ally manning is six, five. When you're around, he's still a tall guy. He's still looks like a little brother, no matter how old he is. He's always gonna look like a little brother. Alex Smith is not a big guy, imposing guy, but then you'll see, you know, Mario looks like he's six, four Jameis Winston, six, four. He's big case keenum, not big Derek cars. Good site. I mean, it's it's, you have to, then you see drew Brees and you go, how did that happen? Even Russell Wilson. Junior, the third is built solidly a Brady is still tall. I mean, he's bigger than what you think. Trying to think who Cam, obviously, Cam stands at Cam when I saw can walk on the field when we saw him in college and author, I went my God. He looked like a tight end. And even then he looked like a a a tight end who was too big..

"In essense he's everything he's a smaller smartest players next savings ever coached the complexities of what they ask these defensive backs the do is is nfl like and he will be ready as i can say incredibly smart football player great savvy great ball skills i mean that's the thing taht i ate defensive backs who can't catch the football eight and yeah he when he gets an opportunity and i catch you can do damage the other way and that's what this legs about now it's not 1978 anymore so yannick mikka fitzpatrick could be in the mix the be the first to third pick overall yeah and by the way when todd brought his name up pled you know people i know that's really high for a cornerback will look at jaylen reimsi look at the jags defense now they're putting up numbers the legion of boom would be proud of part of those affected is todd says in met more points out you can do all those things when you can when you can cover anybody when you can tackle and when you have ridiculous ball skills it shows up art with the top tougher with ramseyer remember was he didn't have good ball production i think had what one interception and he dropped a lot but he's he had some dropping anyone who's scouted him in washington throughout the process he actually did have pretty decent ball skills it just didn't show up on tape now there's a long history especially its safety of guys that if you have ball production in college it leads sue ball production in the nfl and a lot of that his instincts and just being a playmaker and knowing the angles in all that the ramsey in the first two years is five interceptions at which is four more than i think he had in his entire career at florida state so that's that aspect of it can be difficult to evaluate in in you know to that point five interceptions in they're not throwing the ball adam a hell of a lot of the time either so guys let's get one more question here from this pile.

"And that's not a bad thing in my opinion for college football the seahawks defensive backs they said they were taken this personally okay follow me on this the the seahawks i guess some naysayers we're talking about the defense that the defense isn't what it used to be with the legion of boom well of course they're not they lost richard sherman kam chancellor cliff avery bradley make do gold he's a replacement safety said word was getting around that were not the same defense guys are taking that personally hello how how how else would you take it are you trying harder now because they're saying you guys aren't the same like this is your motivation you guys aren't the same defense you used to be weren't taken that personally yes he but then if you are are saying that you are the same aren't you then devaluing the hurt players by saying lima where exactly the same with or without those guys we don't need kam chancellor in here richard surely it because we are just as good without them so what it don't worry about pain we don't need you guys yes every time i turn on the seahawks game and i see michael bennett on the sidelines in those miniscule shoulder pads yes i think he's deactivated in that in the game like all he's out and then these got the little sears shoulder pads on it doesn't look like those are like he has shoulder pads on that each is standing on the sidelines in new jersey right now at so i like when we keep we've recently seen a bunch of dna sanders highlights he looks like he's got to basketball's on his shoulders his his pads are yanked kantano levels things all right so some phone calls best and to the weekend coming up some baseball news here with the japanese import and also gene carlos stanton's future have that for.

"A oh that's my wife says that i'm unique in that people attacking me doesn't bother me and i it's almost like if you watch football defensive backs get burned give up a touchdown pass the next drive the right of on the line excrement talk line of scrimmage talking trash and you have to have no memory to play that position i don't like hold grudges ideal i just had to let things go very kind of cormick in that way and i i don't think you could do my job if you set around him worried like my wife says you can get ten things negative said about you and you remember the positive right i mean and and i i do think there is a little bit of truth to that but yet i and i always said if people who know me when i said that backwards door we do this very differently yet to she said that you can say ten things negative and you remember the positive or the other way around like i get ten positives but i only one irate the opposite okay well you are doing and it doesn't really rigour i almost feel like when i do the radio show it's almost it's my way of sitting down and getting to have fair be without actually having to pay for therapy that's incredible and that's very diverse of a what a lot of people are because i had so many people that come on and talk about that forget all the good stuff and i don't necessarily marinade it's it's almost like it's just noise yeah you know it doesn't impact there's nothing that somebody's going to say to me that's going to change my opinion about something and that's one of the funniest things about twitter is i'll make an argument and and somebody will be like oh did you think about x y z and yeah i did my wife uranian issue because she's really smart obviously too and i would talk about her with an opinion and i ask her opinion i might not take her advice.

"Ryan and a half florida state is nine and a half yet none of florida state to me looking at what they have returning and i look at a thorough when james coming off an injury last year early in september a great player one of the best players in the country on the defense aside the ball they have a shutdown cornering fads i loved defensive backs who were great and have the ability to translate to the nfl and they are going to try to prove themselves and outage or when james off the injuries and i'll be trying right away to reestablish himself as a dynamic presence because he didn't play much last year with the injury you'll get a mcfadden's and he be the shutdown corner that florida sites had over the great years going back to the i think he can be linebacker play always athletes it can run their and they got guys up front that can play with did pass rush was sweat and inside presence would not a you got it all gone on defense is that's immediately check that all that hits they hit box their perfect situation on defense then you have the quarterback when offense you know you got skilled talent yeah you lose cook but you always have running backs and you got an anchor in a in a senator who's a veteran i think it all adds up to florida state at nine and a half look unlike very eleven wins seemed to me especially with clemson being not with they were the last couple of years clemson is going to be down north carolina is going to be down so the acc i think in general could be a little bit down and while you're talking about that league i'll say team that i think is going to be higher as well and it's not florida state although i like florida state a lot but they do play alabama they they do play at florida they play alabama in atlanta they play at florida to start or to end the season they do go to cleanse clemson we'll see where clinton is late in the season but how about nc state.
