The key bridge is open, Woodrow Wilson Bridge Open Legion Bridge and the chain bridge. All open. Getting across the district and Acosta crossings is where we've had some confusion. So here's what we know. So far, The Douglas Bridge is closed. We're not quite sure about the Souza Bridge. The Whitney Young Bridge is open. But I did talk to a caller who traveled on I 2 95 across the inbound 11 Street bridge onto the freeway into the third Street tunnel. So that is all completely open. I'm reading Kessler. Our team coverage now continues. Many of the major bridges heading into the district are closed. That includes the 14th Street Bridge and Douglas after sitting in traffic for a while, you may also notice a lot of law enforcement and detours as the city prepares for the inauguration. Your best bet will be to plan your route before leaving home or just avoid downtown D C altogether, But once you're stuck in it like I was, it would be difficult to get out. The bridge closures will be in place through Thursday morning. But getting out of the district should be easier. Outbound lanes remain open for more on what to expect out on the roads. Other metro stations already closed within the security perimeter. Amtrak Northeast Regional Service is suspending trains south of Union Station Starting today. News, a bipartisan group of senators urging federal lawmakers to support the electoral College certification vote on Wednesday. Demonstrations also expected to attract counter protesters on the city's urging demonstrators to abide by the district's rules and steer clear of the area. C by mere Muriel Bowser to avoid confrontations with anybody who's looking for a fight on the best way to do that is to avoid the area. Acting D C. Police chief Robert Conte says to anyone who thinks about bringing a gun firearms are not permitted. Parts of the downtown area will be closed to traffic on Tuesday and Wednesday, and after the vandalization of some black lives, matters signs during previous protests, police will be more visible around churches. Also, the closing down of areas like black Lives matter. Plaza is an off the table. That is a consideration for us because it is a flash point for contentious interactions between demonstrators.
