"Deal with by myself and in the wake of the columbine massacre dr pollock talk to boys who littleton colorado. Who feel how they've healed and lessons learned after surviving that trauma take a look at what a few of those boys had to say. We've witnessed an act of violence firsthand and when you see the actual effects of something like it and how devastating it is. You realize how much small things that you might think. Insignificant can really affect someone else whether you know it or not come. I could happen again because the way people treat other people or way other guys three guys. They don't really care about other people are scared about themselves. If they're feeling pain. I guess they feel someone else you feel. It has definitely made me have second thoughts about how treat others as far as being prejudiced against them. Were just prejudging them before. I know anything about their life. What they've been through. You know what kind of family your house they come from now that this happened at columbine the tragedy. I think it's easier for me to let my feelings out and tell people what i'm thinking with my feelings. I just try to hold them inside. I still do carry the survivor with me. There are a lot of times where i will be back in the school reflecting on the sequence of events and wondering what i could have done differently than saying. Why did i run. Why did i. What did i think only of myself i think just stays with you. Think most people ever forget about it. I won't forget about it. Doctor pollack says boys everywhere have been affected by what happened in columbine many fear that they too could snap really absolutely identified. Real boys voices. What i call the combine syndrome not about combine but about the rest of america. Boys are afraid of their own anger. And we're afraid of boys. What boys experience is that they're seen as predatory they're seen seniors danger and we're trying to make things safe but the way we make things safe safe school so call. Zero tolerance makes boys more of more and more likely to be violent. Why because instead of listening to them instead of connecting to them we treat them like criminals like predators like there are just about to shoot somebody and they start to feel that way themselves get scared pushed underneath because they can't talk about it and then all of a sudden they snap. What's interesting to me. Is i think now. A lot of boys. All boys all races all sizes all different cultures and communities are experiencing for the first time. What young black men have experienced for centuries you know you see a group of black man walking down the street whether you want to admit it or not. Most people feel like oh god. I don't know what's going to happen here or a group of black megan on elevator. Chris rock made a joke after the columbine shooting saying he feels the same way about white boys now and. I don't think that that's really so much of a joke. I see when you when you see a group of voice period regardless of what their race or social background. Now there there are a number of us who are sort of taken aback. You're like wondering what's going on. Let's be careful. Is something going to happen here. And why is that. It's because we've decided that it's the boys who are the problem rather than the society. That's the problem We don't realize that it's the message we're giving boys in that boy code that they have to be stoic. They have to push their feelings back that they have to succeed that they have to go after girls as a trophy and we don't realize that boys are sweet caring for people like everybody else and so we see these images of boys who hurt these images of boys who are in pain cancer trained from the big day. They're born to be tough and don't cry. Don't cry don't show your feelings. Don't be a worse or we'll make fun of you okay. I think parents need to know that that when you say to your sons in their infant stages don't cry little boys. Don't cry that that's what you're really saying is push your feelings down. And when you push them down they build and they build and they build and some boys get depressed. Some boys get isolated and some boys get violent bullying and isolation or at the core of many school shootings bullying as at an all time. High in the schools eighty one percent of students admitting to harassing their classmates. Dr politics says boys who are bullied. Hide their feelings because they fear being humiliated. Not being man enough they also fear being injured and in this day and age. They fear being even killed. This is debbie enter twelve year. Old son. david. Debbie says she had no idea or good. Wc okay the jazz uva city absolutely so. Thank you guys for great music. Check them out spotify where we listen to your music apple. Yeah absolutely so here. We are again our second episode. Second season this is true. How are you feeling how are you. Today i'm good. You know we Are doing this in the morning. Well early afternoon this late at night. This is true so well. I mean yeah. Some drinking coffee he asks as well. I mean when. I drink coffee so realistically. Nothing has changed. What i'm doing this show in the evening. I'm not during his own meals but he right right. The good eight slow. Gatorade did that episode. Before you in a banter you did okay waterboy. That's counting movie. It was just on a couple of days ago washed. it was it. Yeah it's a movement. That's an adam sandler classic right there. Yes that's probably to me. That's one of the best. Yeah is not happy gilmore. happy gilmore's go into. Yeah yeah that was a good one. But i just there's something about you know waterboy football. Yeah really what. It is speaking of movies though. Yeah like you out here with the transition survey and we're not talking about the little vehicle with two wheels. Segue kid both my goodness guys. Don't man i hope he laughed at that anyway. Yeah speaking of movies. Yeah well what about. I mean you okay. Oh okay oh. I was working on a movie. Yeah yeah. Hbo movie yes. I was working on. Hbo movie just got done. Maybe like three or four weeks ago. Yeah man it's about those. When does coming out. Do you know. I have no idea. It's called moonshot guys. It's like a sci-fi romantic comedy Yeah cole sprouse in it. Okay and Lana i forget her last name. She's a girl from The asian girl from to all the boys. I love before and that series. It's like three movies on netflix Yeah so they're the stars. And i have no idea who they are. And that's cool. You don't know who calls process you remember sweet life. Zack and cody. Yeah asked one of the twins. Okay okay yeah take me back to the disney days when you were today. So now i've worked with two people. Well suite life on deck. Was the spin off from sweet. Life is cody in debby. Ryan was also in that. So i worked with her own insatiable. And now cole sprouse. Oh yeah okay. So now and i was cool. I mean it was. It was a short little short little movie. Yeah so i wasn't really working on it for too long but be that's why i just got done doing right right. Yeah we'll see how dob. And yeah. And i started a new one. This is true. How's that going a lot of work. Well where are you now. I'm over at a local. Pbs and npr station. Okay the number one. Npr station probably in the southeast. Yeah talk talk. Talk your talk breaking news and information Little classical music night blues and jazz on the weekend but if you like all things considered morning edition which you know. I'm a huge fan on the radio. Side and then on pbs It's a local. Pbs station So it's wabc on the radio side and and pba thirty on the tv side. That's going to change because getting ready for new branding thing they were talking about. I don't know look like but a lot of new things in store. And i just kind of stepped in you know when all of these changes happen so it's been good just trying to get a feel for how things are done and kind of where you fit in that kind of thing a lot going on and this is probably the busiest time for the station on the radio and tv side and i'm responsible for all the on air fundraising so you're talking about. Four pledge drives we call them. You guys have seen you know that on tv. You know public radio and tv asking for money to become donors in support. You know the efforts because we're not commercial so we got four between nine ended december. So it's been a lot of work but we're getting there. I'm enjoying it. And i really love the fact that the i have an office put in office to the station is like ten minutes away from where i was and it was pretty. Wc okay but it's even closer. And i can go in. And i got back way to go in and nobody at the station. So it's pretty cool but we're not going back into the office until january so that's a good thing but yeah it's coming along and before that you came off of a movie and went on vacation. This is facts. Let me tell you i needed. It is good to us. Saying i mean like when i work i work hard. I like to think. I like to say you know that's debatable. But yes i want to bake my girlfriend. And i her went to puerto rico about five days or so. Yeah yeah oh man. People say that's like the fifty second state. Yeah no the fifty first day would be dc right because you know. I mean he didn't have to. You don't need a passport. no it's super easy. You don't have to change your currency or anything like that. The us just about everybody speaks english over in puerto rico for the most part. Yeah no it was nice beautiful. The weather is nicer rained a few times but it wasn't too bad. We actually got out in the perfect time because a tropical storm was coming or storm is coming to whatever so we got out at the right time but It was beautiful went to the beach a lot of good food And i'm a huge fan of the beach. Like i don't like here's my. Here's my thing about the beach right like number one. The oceans very unpredictable. Okay like us. You don't know what's in there. You know what i'm saying. Okay yeah and maybe you don't go out into the ocean for real for real. You know what i'm saying. But i think the most annoying part is when you're on the sand right you go out into the water to enjoy the water and then you come back in the sand all stuck to you. You know what i'm saying. that just annoys me. Yeah that's maybe it's just because you if you go to rinse off then you're still wet so you get more right unless you unless you find somewhere where you can rinse off like say game ready to leave and it's your off the sand whatever which there are places to do that bound as just..

"We'll find out what that's all about coming up here on animal radio before we leave today. Also joey villani. The dogfather continues to get in trouble with his peers. I'm talking about his groomer friends. His groomer friends hate him because he's always coming on animal radio and telling us the tricks that groomers us and today will happen again. So get your pen and paper ready. We're gonna help you keep your dog. Groom just like the groomer's gwyn are you doing. When was the first name. And i fish. I love that name. Fish quinn okay. I bet you're thrilled. Sorry bring it up. What's going on with your animals. What's going on. how can we help you. I've talked to debby ryan every time he can. We take in having flea dipped and everything. They continually get lead lots of lease dog. Okay what kind of dog you got there akaka pluto. Okay wonderful adorable little guys. What color is he. he's right. Aw all right. so so. He's got fleas in. Are they treating them when you get him groomed. Do you treat them at home with anything with nine. Yes okay and we even had a dog collar on it and it's not doing any good all right. What part of the country you calling from. I'm calling from los angeles california. Okay all right. So yeah you guys certainly got. I'm in Normally i practicing las vegas so in california you guys. You guys have all sorts of fun with fleas. That we don't get to have here in las vegas. We're very dry climate. So they don't really thrive very well but certainly in california the moisture Definitely the it's a haven for fleas. And you know that trick with fleas. Is that one. Product doesn't always do the trick alone and in many areas. The reinfestation of lease is huge. So you could treat the pet and everything on the pet can be killed but if going back into the environment where the fleas are which is very common in areas like california there's fleas outside It isn't uncommon for them to get reinvested. Always kind of have to look at that as possible reality and make sure that we're doing everything we can not just on the pet but even in the home or even in the yard to treat. It's kind of what we call integrated flea control so we're gonna treat more than just one method if one product doesn't do a very good you know what there's a lot of other good ones out there and in fact Advantage and advantix. The that's kind of a whole line of different Flea products they have some very good Products that can be helpful and some pets. It might work better for your pet and I definitely endorse a product. That has A combination of different ways that we can attack these critters. So there's little eggs there's little larva and the adult so if like find a product or products that tackles more than one. Life's cycle of this then. We're doing really good so you might want to look at Perhaps looking at advantage to Or advantix tim. Those might be some of the ones you want to look to. But i would stay faithful. I mean you gotta stay on top of fleas. They reproduce like crazy so one little flea can certainly add to mini generations beyond so One bite and one fleet can leave europe. Head-scratching leave you renan in circles after these guys right advantage you would suggest that i could Baby man of for their product or did anything that i'm not doing right because we constantly and he was gretchen. So bad to me scratching. I just take it into the bed. Came home two days. And he was scratching like he was eight scratching. Nick was bleeding. Oh well yeah in. In sometimes we do actually prescribe anti-itch products if if they're digging themselves up so badly because part of that is comfort and we want to stop that each cycle while we're killing these critters so If the vet hasn't already done something to help Some dogs. I'll add a little bit of prednisone just kind of help curb that a really intense each But a lot of it is. I think we might want to look at the environment and making sure that we're treating the yard treating the homeless really yard Is far as it's i personally prefer using a professional Getting a exterminator to treat the yard appropriately That would be one big thing now. Some simple things around inside the is that If you're using flee Callers a lot of times we have to address the vacuum. Because when you suck up those little flea eggs he can live and grow and reproduce inside the vacuum bag. So you wanna make sure that you're in. You're taking the house clean the filter. Yes so you wanna make sure you empty your vacuum whatever kind of vacuum you got in in the kind that you have if you have an actual bag in many cases will put a little bit of a Flea or tick collar. I'll put that actually in the bag to help. Kind of kill them as they're kind of coming around so that would be definitely one big thing and you know sometimes. There's a lot of debate about this in the vet world whether or not we have drug resistant flees out there And there are some veterinary researchers that say you know in some areas of the country. These critters are getting stronger. And that's one reason may be kind of mixing it up and trying alternate products for you One other thoughts that also is a bit controversial. Is that It's sometimes that win folks purchase flea and tick products from alternate sources. There's some concern about whether it's really that same product that you would get at your veterinary office and there are believe it or not. Instances of counterfeit fleeing check products out. There that are sold through catalogs and so forth from the store. Okay so if you're getting it from your veterinarian those are guaranteed and that's certainly much different than if you're buying it on the internet or getting shipping new walmart he's at the pet shop Okay all right still might be room for maybe talking to your veterinarian and see what they have on their shelf and what they might recommend because if these products are coming through these outside channels non veterinary channels. There can be the potential that they're coming from other sources so it was just something to consider walmart right but they're not a veterinary office and and they don't have a veterinary license to buy these products from the source. So that that's certainly the concern with some of these things. Okay yeah but i think some of those are some of the things you can do to tackle things and You stay vigilant really. Keep up the hard work And make sure. Would you treat the environment along with the pet and if you have any other pets that are in the home. Make sure they're being treated concurrently because cats dogs past these things around rabbits ferrets. So we've got to treat all the little critters otherwise you're going to just keep having problems there so my best wishes to you. I hope the itch scratch stops and you make me really happy. I live in a dry climate. So i don't have those fleas so having great one claw gwen. We appreciate it. It'll carry joy turner. Can you communicate to fleas. Could you could you ask them to evacuate go away. I have actually tried this. The way i have found it to work for me is interesting. Anyone could do this. I actually told them if they continued to come and mess with my kids. I was going to actually try to do something to get rid of them. Which for me. I use borax twenty milton borax on my markets and that pretty much keeps the fleas away. I am not infested here in washington..

"To do is learn the language before classes start which should be too hard gradualist us as american girls are totally going to kill it this year. They won't know what hit you hear here family. And you're getting what we want our way. He passing more that bread. That's bad skunk. Oh my god. Oh then the bread condo at the end. I loved that ashley says bitches to Lauren's dad she's she is herself through and through throughout this. And i i just love the the ease of which one can emigrate In this universe is well picked up there and then also like. Where's the money coming from. Yes except it's not like she was married to thomas and got left this money and hopefully she's not doing the flight attendant thing anymore Unless you got some sort of payout it seems like this lifestyles unmanageable. Because she's at this parisian has mentors sister's at stanford like i don't think shannon got a scholarship now although a shot i did very quickly after getting her laptop. Become sort of elite paca. So it's it's very entirely possible. But maybe she's on the payroll of google or something. But i was hoping that maybe you know how to fairmount monday. Maybe she after something. Oh that will be nice. That would be nice be killed. Yes like a quick turnaround on a will but ensures the idea that that hannah thought of her like a daughter which is intense yes. This movie is a four five point. Four on imdb. Let me check the ratings to see if the if the reviews if there's anything spicy. I always love a good review. Okay the first one is one star out of ten. I'm sick of these actors and actors that don't know nothing about about the world that don't know nothing about the world okay. This is by tube. Toby was written on july twenty first. Twenty twenty so shortly after the movie came out acting companies have to stop to lie about their really hard and stressful methods to mold. The perfect actors and actress when there are people like saxons Charbonneau out there. How can these companies be serious accept. Someone likes saxon. Just take a look at her youtube channel. It's childish pity almost trash in there. You can see oliver acting skills at work. It's not a joke. Her acting levels the same of her videos. If you want to educate someone start with educate these boys and girls from the rich neighborhoods which are which about the world. Do not know anything. Do not know nothing. Sorry air to oil to understand how things are in. This is reflected even in their acting skills. Okay so who the fuck is this person that they're going off. So there's a youtube star so the girl who played luke is sin shar beano and apparently. She's a youtube star. What does this new information or so. I'm you know. Obviously tube taibbi. The guardian of youtube by the looks of things has got an axe to grind was waiting for his opportunity. I have never seen that woman before i recognized. Had a has very lifetime face. I've been in other stuff. But i didn't recognize anyone out Hannah christina more does some familiar. She has done. Let's see. She was in clause. Mr student body president which was a series jesse which i think might be the show from disney channel. Debby ryan was on suburban tori. Nanno to one. Oh she played. Tracy clark on the nine. Oh two one oh True blood she seems to mostly have been A fairly serious address she also did a bunch episodes of mad tv I what i think. I'm getting tripped up on she. She gives me. She gives me similar vibes to the actress. That was that was in the mistress. Honda that we watched as status similarity into that facial structure. I mean they just kind of like attractive blond ladies of his age typing cut him out but she has familiarity to. That's like i think definitely an important thing with lifetime casting is like they have to feel familiar. Oh there's called plot holes galore which is just bullet. A bullet point list of the potholes. Oh yes please give the okay. I'm looking at saxons youtube channel. Why did it. Eric pull the trigger all the time. It took lauren to fetch her knife from her thigh. In stab him with it he had a gun pointed outer and have plenty of time an opportunity to shoot her but he didn't and there was no reason not to other than the standard unbending role of lifetime movies at the lead actress must always survived to the happy ending. I don't know if that's a plot hole. Now open the final sequence there is. It was so chaotic. It religiously running to the finish line and was probably some of the weirdest festival. Tiny sopranos beating henchmen has to be the worst hired assassin slash management of old high all of servers and shit. Too like every gun in this movie had a silencer on it which is like i think why not go through the trouble of getting us lila. If you're gonna rob someone out in a parking garage and be if you're gonna pull up to someone's house with your lights and beams. Aw right though like shouli the key here is the creed probably like ended the bloc turner lights off for sure. Yes yeah This next one is even though all the people who were stabbed in the lower stomach and lifetime movies over the past decade all survived. Thomas died at is true. But he was showing. Yes yeah he was like. Just let me rest. My eyes for sec. Why didn't lauren grab her phone. And call for help for thomas instead of just letting him die when she sat air with him at very valid point no way would learn have so easily gotten by as long as she did just being a dinner date for the rich clients when they thought they were paying for sex and it was never made clear that her friend ashley was doing the same thing or was giving your clients but they actually paid for. No we know. Ashley was getting no. She was yeah she absolutely was would have gotten to lauren. An amsterdam right after the incident with pulse when Right after the incident with paul took place it would have been at least the next day since she had to fly there from the. Us we know they. Time travel Hannah should have known better than to turn her back on eric after defying him than threatening him. That's victim blaming cried is true though. I would slowly back out of a room if i just told up. Eric lauren and ashley were initially portrayed as clean cut college girls with morals in self respect but they both fell so easily in a prostitution without even a second dot as if it was a regular everyday job. I mean that's a little the way you say. It is a little judgy yay. That's not the nicest way of couching but they did they did to the profession with very that'll Their questions i would love to see what the if that was an employment contract What the trading day might look like With the rules.

"Jackson, who was his co star on Um Oh, the one is Debby Ryan Jesse. She did Ah, attribute to him, Cameron Voice on dancing with the stars the other day, and you know between that and then this news. It's like you realize what a huge Enormous loss. That was, and by all accounts, the people who worked closely with him all felt very similarly about what kind of a person he was. And he was way too young way too young. So it's just heartbreaking. So young, but was Jesse on Disney Channel? Yeah, because he was also a part of descendants. And I got to know Cameron voice because I really wasn't watching the Disney Channel when he was a star. Through this documentary called Showbiz Kids on HBO. That was this year, and they talked to Cameron Voice in detail before he passed away and he was really insightful about being a child star. What it took what it took from him and how he wanted to move forward in his career, and it's just so unfortunate. That he never got the opportunity to really transition into full adult started in a way that he should have it so sad. Camera boy's died by the way last delight he was just 20 and that happened while he was sleeping. Epileptic seizure. I can't. I thought it was Selena Kylie. Oh, don't say that. Ah, first initial, Ai R. J. Ariana Grande was right. Can I just say that? I think one of the reasons why so many people out of the rock. I feel like he's the human manifestation of a successories poster. Oh, that's good. I wasn't going to see that. You're totally right. I was going to say like I just can't believe his physique and so oh, so you're just going straight for not like in a sexy way more and like, how does that happen? A lot of protein. Wait, Lift. Do you remember when he posted a picture of all the food he eats? Yes. Yeah. Yes, it's it's really just something to Marvel Act. Yes, It's sort of this like weird, voyeuristic. Curiosity. "But she she sassed everyone she it would still work. But honestly, I don't no one can replace Reese Witherspoon know it comes down to like Reese's like Alec. I do have a question. So those were the actresses considered back then he could you think of anyone now that if you were to recast the role of Elle Woods, who would you recast it? Like who would you pass it or with? It's a great question great. Great question. This is a hard question. I don't even know. I think I think my immediate thought is that like there aren't as many like rom-coms and like I guess this isn't really a rom-com but like Grace weather's been starting a lot of rom-coms and then just aren't as many films like this. And so there aren't as many like young actresses doing stuff like this. I guess I guess it'd have to be they'd have to be like kind of of College I have a real I have a really like add a left field one. Okay, like just just like could I mean could Emma Stone do this? I mean, okay. She's a little older now. Obviously, she's like thirty so maybe like like easy am a stone would knock it out of park. Yeah. Yeah for sure. I'm thinking of like young Emma Stone. Yeah, he could have done something really good role. I feel oh God, she would have definitely brought in a different character, but it would have worked really well. I think what you need to do with this movie is you need to take off one who is on the Disney Channel and it's going to be like their breakout role like this ticket, you know, I think Debby Ryan comes to mind like, I don't know if you've seen insatiable. I mean the other like one from a Disney Channel that might work but the only problem is I can't see is a blonde is Selena Gomez. Yeah, the blond won't work, but the blonde won't work but like specially and and now Selena gome is different from like Wizards of Waverly Place Selena Gomez. Yeah. Yeah could now Selena Gomez like could she do the role? You know what I just thought of like the one of the perfect people I could play. I don't know Pig. Soft blonde lead an Easter. He plays, you know, do you know who that is? Yeah vaguely bigger. So yeah. She she plays she plays the most like sassy girl character on Gossip Girl, but she's like so confident and like super like, oh I can do anything. So I think she'd play the role really. Well, it's just she'd have a lot of sass in it and very wrong shade, but I think that she could play the role very well. It's just came to my mind because she stars in a movie with Selena Gomez back in 2011 called Monte Carlo another trash movie. I loved actually not that bad. It's not that bad. It's it's pretty good and it's sort of like, I love I love watching. It's one of my my sister's favorite so it's great. But when you brought up Selena Gomez, I'm like, yeah, but I think we didn't Easter could do better and now that I'm now I brought that up. I just keep thinking about Sharpay Evans from High School Musical Ashley, Tisdale. Yep. Could maybe pull it up to I think she's like forty now those actually work it could wear since she like super old..

"Here's Rod bar. Val Ackerman joins us on sports. byline USA. She is the Commissioner of the Big East conference. She also first president of the WNBA first woman to ever successfully launching operate a women's sports leagues. She was inducted into the women's basketball hall of fame graduated from the University of Virginia was among the school's first female scholarship athletes. She has a law degree, and also she served as a staff attorney for the NBA and Special Assistant Commissioner. David Stern. You know when you hear all of that? which one makes you smile the most of all the things that you've done vow. That's a hard one ron. I've been so lucky because I. I've been at the right place at the right time with some very exciting opportunities in sports. I mean I played as a student athlete. I had a chance to keep that connection going with my work at the NBA and later with USA basketball, and now in college sports kind of coming full circle. So It's all it's all been a thrill I. I would have to put the WNBA up up near the top, though to be able to be part of The the the launch of women's pro basketball in a sustainable way. In the US was really a thrill for me to be able to work with David Stern. Another is at the NBA on. That was definitely a highlight but I. I've been very lucky. I've had some exciting things that I've done. Got Cut, trying to make the cheerleading squad. Yes I still. Think about that. that moment it was Probably the best thing that ever happened I think in some ways and and sort of very interesting. I guess the back in that time. That was one of the few sports offered for women at my junior high school. It was actually the only sport you do sports in the in the summer months in my hometown, but there weren't organized sports at that time, and that's what you did and I didn't make it but fortunately when I got to high school there was a full offering fuller. Fuller offering there and was lucky to have been able to be at the ground floor of really the post title, nine years, and to see the growth of women's sports has been fantastic. One of the things that I've found in talking to everybody. Mostly athletes and people that are in sports is at that obviously were they grew up? Had some influence on them now you grew up in New Jersey and you grew up in the sixties. Tell me a little bit about how that fashion to Bow Ackerman is. Well. You know I was very lucky because my dad was a a high school athletic director, he was the basketball referee. He was himself very very interested in sports, both as a participant and a spectator and he took a great interest in my sports career. I have a younger brother and my dad was. He treated me like a son. When it came to sports. we would. We would play anything I mean. We were throwing. Throwing footballs in the front yard we were planning shooting baskets in the on in the hoop. The driveway we would hit tennis balls He was the starter at my swimming meets. We would play. Ping Pong in the table in the basement badminton backyard. You name it. We did everything and I think that probably shaped me more than anything It got me interested in sports. it just just seemed made sports such a natural in my life. Dad Is I. mentioned was an administrator and I. Think in the back of my mind I figured that at some point, that's what I would do as well and so he was a role model in a lot of ways, and again I didn't have many sports opportunities as a young girl, but when I got to high school there were offerings. I was very fortunate that women's intercollegiate. intercollegiate athletics were opening up at the time. I left Highschool, so I was able to go to a great school. The University of Virginia and play basketball there at a time when when our program there was just getting off the ground, so I guess you know I was sort of always right there I think timing wise as things were unfolding, but growing up in the suburbs and And New Jersey with a dad and mom, of course who was very supportive as well, but having parents who really understood how important sports was to me sports to me and made some of those opportunities possible was was really the the best thing that could have happened I. Remember something that Michael Jordan said to me one time, and this is the trademark of all great athletes I mean. Mean even Billie Jean King said this to me. Reggie Jackson said it to me when the game is on the line I WANNA be the one to determine the outcome. If I succeed I'll take the glory if I fail I'll take the blame now. Not Everybody is comfortable with that, but have you kind of used that as a way of life. You've never been afraid to try anything. Well I you know I, I'm not sure I'd say that. But I do think life is about taking risks. nothing gained. Nothing Lost I. Think is certainly you know a credo that I've had I think you have to kind of live every day like it's your last one and and not have regrets. And, so I. You know I suppose when it comes to playing sports. That's part of it. You kind of have to leave it on the floor. Over the field every time you play or What's the point But I think in other things. I've done some things that I. Know My parents were sort of scratching their heads about in terms of travel I went to college in the South I went to law school on the West. Coast you know I did some traveling in between You know I I do think at some point. You have to take chances. And if you don't you just sort of, don't move the ball forward itself. Fortunately I've been in a position where I've been able to do that. Your basketball coach at Virginia debby. Ryan said something very interesting. People were drawn to her, and immediately saw her as a leader who is going to have an extraordinary career. Everyone knew. Did you know? Well DEB, DEB's way to kind. There is very lucky to play for her. She really built the Virginia Program I was fortunate to be in her first class there and so we really did grow up together. I'd say at UVA and and and really with the onset of Women's sports. There look I mean. If someone had told me then that I would have had the career I had I would have laughed. My aspiration really was to be a lawyer. I figured I'd be practicing. You know law and a law firm, or maybe arguing cases before some judge maybe in the back of my mind I..

Sure so I like to do a segment every week called. Claude goes on a tangent. I'm GonNa ask you all some multiple choice questions because that was what I came up with when they told me to do something fund and I like to pick a topic I go on a tangent this week as a little wild. I decided yellow the first band. At least that I've been here for or that I think is just like solidly rock and roll so I started out coming up with rock and Roll Trivia questions. It took a weird turn at some point but bear with me so for the Nineteen Ninety World Cup hosted by England. New Order wrote a song called world in motion which was changed just from the original title. which was what a parade for soccer? B E for England or see La Alao the World Cup Song. I'm logically yeah right all right I think the thing about the devil is he mixes truth with his lies. The answer is actually leaper England because authorities worried that it promoted rape culture. Ah La La La was the twenty fourteen World Cup Song by Shakira. It was literally called. La La La parenthesis Brazil twenty fourteen. So don't try too heart. You know you could still find success ESA my second rock and roll question. Hitler's dog inspired inspired true story. Rock and roll then. Then we'll get there the name the name aim of Hitler's dog inspired the name of what Musical Act. A blondie be white stripes or I see Phil Collins just say I'm going to say what. Say blondie and there would be no that. It's it's probably blondie say blondie it is. Blondie yes incorrect. I don't think I should get a clap for the high on a Web page and I'm going with it My God I just found out Coco. Chanel was a Nazi and it would absolutely murder me of Debby Ryan also a Nazi debby Ryan it is up. That's blonde debt. Harry Harry there. We go see who the fuck debby Ryan I don't have any Ryan is the The Ma are the grandmother in Halloween town. Oh My debby Ryan commands for the main Cromwell Dude in Halloween town. Joanna be friends. Hell Yeah we town. It's about time my third question is not rock and roll related. I'm just some Trivia. I wanted to share but Mickey Rooney made his fortune out of being an entertainer. But what other business venture did he try is is it. A disposable bras be a women's fragrance called taming of the shrew or see hot dogs jobs that are round and flat and served on Hamburger Buns. I'M GONNA say disposable bras. Yeah I'm with you dry support rhythm you you. The answer is all of the above. That man believed in himself conference. Yes yes red apparent. Apparently his pitch coach disposable bras lasted two minutes with fruit of the loom people and they just said like no. We can't here's how to get people to keep buying your product doc. Make them tear. Yeah exactly yeah they just burst into flames like a pad but for your boob. Yes exactly yeah. Third question not related to anything. I I just don't know when I'm going to get to shoehorn. Mickey Rooney Trivia into a conversation. So there you have it ends. Claude goes on a tangent. Oh thank you. Claude applaud game. Show music to play when I see she feels at facebook to forgot. We have a whole bunch of musicians here like play. Yes out by the way facebook. You can ask US questions in the comments. We'll get them on our phone. That's how the Internet works. Sometimes if my Wifi connects let's cricket please share any Mickey Rooney Trivia. Would you guys like to play a couple more songs for us. Live and Mattie stars adult Cameron who plays both twins live, and Mattie, and let me just tell you this before we hear the song. What they do in this Disney show using just one actor to play both of these people, you know, the camera tricks. So that you can play both people with how they do. It is remarkable. It is it was seamless. There's so many Google searches for who are these actual twins. And they're not it's one person. It's remarkable. What they do. That's great. Anyway, one of them in one of the characters in the show happens to be a singer, and she's an actress. And so then there's this battle of the bands. And they had this song that we heard the other day called say, hey or say, hey, hey, hey, dependent tell me Donna, open, your heart. Are you? Sure. Give me this. I don't hate it. Also, Joey Villani. The dogfather continues to get in trouble with his peers. I'm talking about, yes, his groomer friends, his groomer friends hate him because he's always coming on animal. Radio and telling us the tricks that groomers us and today we'll happen again. So get your pen and paper ready. We're going to help you keep your dog groom just like the groomers, hey, Gwen, are you doing? Glen was the first name? I fish. I love that name. My fish Quinn. Okay, thrilled. Sorry. What's going on with your animals? What's going on, how can we help you? I've talked to Debby Ryan. Every time we take having feed dipped in everything they continually gets lead lots of lead dog. Yes. Okay. What kind of dog you got there? Kaka poodle. Okay, wonderful. Gerbil little guys. What color is he? He's right. All right, so so he's got fleas in, are they treating them when you get him groomed? Do you treat them at home with anything with nine? Yes. Okay. And we had a dog collar on him and it's not doing any. Good. All right. What part of the country do you calling from? I'm calling from Los Angeles, California. Okay. All right. So, yeah, you certainly are you. I'm in normally practicing Las Vegas. So in California, you guys have all sorts of fun with fleas that we don't get to have here in Las Vegas. We have a very dry climate so they don't really thrive very well, but certainly in California, the moisture definitely it's a haven for fleas and you know that trick with fleas is that one product doesn't always do the trick alone. And in many areas, the reinfestation of fleas is huge. So you could treat the pet and everything on the pet can be killed. But. If going back into the environment where the fleas are, which is very common in areas like California, there's flees outside, it isn't uncommon for them to get reinvested. So we always kind of have to look at that as a possible reality and make sure that we're doing everything we can not just on the pet, but even in the home or even in the yard to treat, it's kind of what we call integrated flea control. So we Don a treat more than just one method. And if one product doesn't do your very good, you know there's a lot of other good ones out there, and in fact, advantage and Advantix they that's kind of a whole line of different flea products. They have some very good products that can be helpful in some pets. It might work better for your pet. And I definitely endorse a product that has a combination of different ways that we can attack these critters. So there's a little eggs. There's little larva and then there's the adult. So if I find a product or products that tackles. More than one life cycle of this. Then then we're doing really good so you you might want to look at perhaps looking at advantage to or Advantix Tim. Those might be some of the ones you want to look to. I'm but I would stay faithful. I mean, you gotta stay on top of fleas. They reproduce like crazy.
