"Have you watched on the new of younger yet. no is it out. it's out six episodes on hulu. The all came out together. I don't know like a weird released taylor. Strecker was explaining it to me. 'cause you know. She hosts the after show. They released four on paramount plus like as a paramount plus hoopla thing and i went to go subscribe and it was literally ten dollars and everyone was like the interface sucks so i decided against it but then i found out it's on hulu and now they've been releasing them weekly leading up to the six episode. It's so good. Like liza is though i and that's what makes it so good because like honestly she's just like going through it right now and i'm just living for it. Oh yeah has more developed role. That good sodas lauren. I didn't finish last season. I think it's real. It's like charleston is it were together and then like started you know. Of course like they can't just ever like let us live and be happy life just like turn it off plus since i watched the bull type and it's literally the i was in bold type mode and i felt traitor. It's the same type of show me. Bishop watch bolted. I'm really craving more younger. You would love hate bowl type. No like a heaping frustrated watching a tv show. it's so conflicting. There's so much to love and there's so much to hate. I think you should watch it. I think it would like i think it would be really invested. I just love you know shows about like fake workplaces. It's nobody ever looks uglier tired and it's like they're all just magically fulfilled by the time they get breakfast before and then walked work also meet up with the guy that they're talking to return his wife. These people don't get tired. They knock it tired. Wake up at five. Am sleepy two am fulfiled their so but you should watch younger a watchable type with what what does it on. Hulu hulu no younger so it and it's also the final season so now it's basically like aiden and big you know it's like a whole thing like charleston lies period of course literally can't understand or relate to people who think there are people lies in josh people think that that's what's going to happen in the antilles trekker would not tell me what happened but there's a lot of people think that she ends up josh like he was not all along no way no action now like seeing. How monstrous liza is her josh. Perfect for each other charles. Actually like the fact. That charles's slumming it with liza. So it's upsetting because i i don't want to spoil but like it's not the right feb talking about people who are not compatible. Okay wow i like a. I always go for the traditional. I was such a big girly. What's going on with acne richardson. Oh she's like not really there. There's just like a lot of weird things going on. I guess because of kobe tavern merger like literally is relevant. Diana literally my favorite character is not in the season not washable that no i know but then i guess like lauren kind of gets airtime and lauren is really like the star of the show. Like i'm dead serious like she's just each season. She gets a funnier and funnier. And she's really so great she's the star and also debbie masar gets like more of a developed storyline. And i just live for her. So it's good..

"He's an out gauge director who was directing mainstream films at like flatliners Lost Boys Batman, and Robin, Batman forever, and was he out at the time. Yes, just contacts for me, so he goes out of this, so when he put nipples on Batman, he was a gay man. Yes, people in Hollywood knew that he was gay. Wonderful wonderful and. It's just really fun going back and revisiting these movies which were camped over the top. And just realizing how much of that was a gay man pudding? Queer themes into mainstream films. Yeah, intentionally having fun. So much of like the discourse about Batman forever and Batman, and Robin like I just remember I have three straight brothers, I remember them watching or my older brother. Jim Watching the movie at the time and being like. And like but not having enough context to be like or giving me enough context. This is a campy movie really bad to make you fucking laugh a lot. You know you're not a serious movie. I Actually Watch Joel. Schumacher's the client yesterday, which is you gave us Serandon as a hard bitten, former alcoholic lawyer good performance to rewatch. I also watched saying almost fire, which is dreadful. Awful. Awful? demorris! Winning how? Yes I will say the the pure faculty of that movies theme song though. How did how it just at how it just blows up every scene, and who is I've seen that movie like twice, and it really is abysmal. Who is in the scene where they're basically just sitting in a bedroom and wind is blowing through or dramatically, and it looks like it's spurrier. Oh yeah, the. Demi. Moore is definitely sitting shivering during. The movie. But that that movie is signature Brat Pack, and that it gives you childish man who are angry constantly for no reason and women looking offended with tears in their eyes. That's what we got from rat pack. Yeah It definitely is interesting to see the conversation between the Batman Films. You know the way that straight men have really tried to reclaim them with the Chris Nolan films. Chris Nolan meanwhile WHO's trying to kill us all by forcing theaters to reopen, so people will go see tenant. An July. Are. You wants to die for your film. Christopher no yeah. Right. They want to reclaim Batman just because those nineties films are just so much for gays yeah. Like. Batman returns is basically like an an opus of Michelle pfeiffer 's and. There is nothing gayer than. Selina Kyle's transformation in that film, and then you have Joel Schumacher's films. Batman forever with Nicole Kidman in it, Dr, chase, Meridian, and Batman and Robin with everything that Lisa Silver Started Luma Thurman doing this film. Even Mr Freeze is so gay in that film. You like with the blue paint walking around in this firkh coat. Vivica Fox misbehaving. Now, my favorite. Thing in Batman Robin Alesia Silverstone, having to hack into a computer and finding the password to the right of the screen. That's my favorite thing. Yeah! Truly whatever he was able to do to channel a gay man into Houma Thurman in Poison Ivy in Batman and Robin is deserves to be in the film Canon forever. You know a film. It gave us the classic line as I, told lady freeze when I pulled her plug. This is on while. As, he's fighting with Lisa Silverstone. As poison ivy takes a dagger, and looks at her reflection, correct and it like and the opening. which is the Ode to Marlene Dietrich? Another queer icon. There's just so much in Joel. Schumacher's films that you need to analyze is even just down to making vampire sexy in Las Boys, and the sexuality of having been like Kiefer, Sutherland strapped to a table naked in flatliners. Also, also making me sexually attracted demented in masks. Phantom of the opera of it. Which reminds me of course of that story that many driver told where she was talking about an onset story Phantom of the opera, where another actress whom she didn't name I can only assume it's Emmy Rossum. I can't imagine it's Miranda Richardson said. That many many driver was being over the top and Joel Schumacher responded. Oh, honey, nobody ever paid to see under the top. Legend. Legend and I think. We talked about this when Bowen was on, he reportedly said that he is fucked over twenty thousand men in his lifetime. that. Yes, so you know what he said in his. Vulture profile so go and read that profile. r.i.p to legend, that's the level of gain I expect from somebody who casts Drew Barrymore and Debbie. Masar as people named sugar and spice. Yes, so rip to a gay.
Spike Lee: a new black wave of cinema
"We've spent past two weeks in a collective state of horror and anger over George Floyd's killing at the hands of Minneapolis police, officer Dirk, Shaaban, just one thousand unjustly killed by police. It's hard to look at what happened. Floyd, and not think of Radio Raheem Bill. Nuns character from do the right thing. Or countries fucked up needs to change. No American filmmaker has had the foresight or insight about that need for change quite like spike has. Some directors interpret the past some capture the present spike does both and he sees the future. Spent some time in the past few weeks. Returning to some spikes movies in anticipation of his new film to five bloods, it's a staggering body of work as wide as it as deep as warm and inviting as provocative and laden with traps ever. Spike isn't the totality of the black filmmaking experience and I don't want to suggest that, but for forty years he's told stories about that experience that have been seen more widely and discussed more feverishly than anyone and they still haven't been seen enough. Of the conversations you've been having with loved ones this month about the problems that people are forced to look at more closely police brutality, systemic racism locally sanctioned violence gentrification, tribal loyalty, the failures of government, personal sacrifice versus public good hiring practices, power, art and money spike was ahead of most Americans for decades on these issues, but while the stories he tells are frequently polemical. His movies are quite nuanced. They rarely tell you exactly what to think. Instead foisting contradictions and crises, interviewers, laps and making them decide. He crafts extraordinary dilemma movies inspired by the new Orrin Westerns and social dramas that he studied at Nyu and even though he doesn't force a conclusion is movies are frequently an intelligence test over the years, critics and audiences have repeatedly shown their ass immediately upon exiting a spike movie. For person like me seeing his work at a young age me up, helped me see beyond my keyhole-size view of the world, but it's not like spike wasn't relatable. He was the Avatar of new. York Knicks FANDOM! He was a regular presence on TV and Jordan commercials. He was directing music videos and frequently according controversy in the movie world he consistently challenged fans and detractors to reexamine their beliefs, and he always destabilized our comfort at sixty three. He is still very much a vital filmmaker. Twenty eight teams Black Klansman was among his most honored films and marked his First Competitive Oscar win for best adapted screenplay. Spike is a hall of Famer on this show and his work accounts for some of my favorite movies ever made. This episode is dedicated to those movies and will include conversations with a couple of his key collaborators as well as a part of a conversation that was more than I had on the watchable last summer. About Lee's nineteen eighty-nine masterpiece. Do the right thing. That movie redefines the term remarkable. In it! You can see and hear the pain and conflict. We're talking about right now. Watch it again. If you haven't really later in the show, we'll have a conversation with jazz. Musician and film composer Terence Blanchard a longtime contributor of spikes. They've teamed up on fifteen films including two five bloods, and he is truly one of the great writers of music for movies. I also wanted to share a conversation I had with the film editor Barry Alexander Brown in February. Two Thousand Nineteen, after he received an Oscar nomination for his work on Black Klansman they've been together since spikes first movie. She's gotTa, have it? Like so many great filmmakers spike works with the same crew over and over again, not just Aronson Berry, but production designer when Thomas Costume. Designer Ruth Carter casting director Robby Reed, and that incredible troop you've seen over and over again in his movies Denzel Washington, of course, Johnsboro on Davis Samuel Jackson Roger One of Your Smith Arthur Nas. Kerala Delroy Lindo is Ahah whitlock junior Alleluia Debbie Masar Ruby Dee, the list goes on. Later this week will be back with a review of spikes, the five bloods, which will be available to watch on Netflix on Friday, it's the story of four black Vietnam veterans who return to the jungle for some unsettled business, its reunion of sorts of some of those actors, and for it's a kind of mission statement about missions. Lastly. We'd like to top five on this show. Spike is made more than thirty feature length films, many of which are indisputable classics to cover every style and format under the Sun. Drama Comedy Crime Films Romances Documentary Sports Movies farce satire musical. He's really done at all. I would recommend virtually every movie he's ever made, but before I share my five year a few places, you can watch his movies just in case you're trying to bone up on some of the ones you've missed. Overlook along the way.

"Kitts? Fuck Eddie Your Tommy. John I think one of the problems that this movie probably carries with it and it's not through any fault of its own is how copied it to me. It has like that die hard problem where it's sort of like we've now seen this so many times that starts to feel cliche on some level but like when you watch this if he'll pure and this scene has been parodied so many times and like us but when you watch the senior this is a this is an amazing entrance for this character even though he kinda a little bit before but he is. This is a great scene a great performance. You can't deny that I'm not. My problem is not at all with. Pepsi's performance is just talk about Pepsi's performance. What do you like about it? Who CARES ABOUT THE AGE? We got the side. Put the age the age in a box. We we've dealt with this. Okay okay we can put the Asiana box. I'm just saying I want to hear about it. My problem age is just because it feels like a bad director Oriel choice. It just like a director whose not paying attention to his material. That's all that. That is a pattern that I see come up in this film a lot. A director whose not paying attention to his material okay. Turnover a by the way did take over a year and a half for a Liotta to get this part. That's how intense he took the casting process of this movie You know and yes. You're right like when he talked to Deniro. He let the narrow pick between Tommy and Jimmy. He picked Jimmy so I think he just wanted to narrow in the film and I'm in I'm in for that connection. I think he gets great performances out whether it's DiCaprio or their deniro. I think he gets like. I watched a narrow in this movie. I'm like Oh this is like this is the version of Deniro that I love. It's like this midnight run. I mean he's fantastic. Throughout the night run. I just watched that for the first time movies. It's so so good. It's it's one of my favorites but this is kind of mid age deniro. That is always doing some interesting stuff. He hasn't just done all the comedy stuff yet. He's still really trying even like that movie. Mad Dog and glory but this is interesting middle aged narrow. Who I think is doing just putting up great performance after a great performance anyway But you're right so he's he's definitely you know catering to some of his favorites but then also bring in people like Lorraine bracco and who is fantastic in this movie as well? I WanNa talk about her and a little bit but he so I think. I think he is giving. I think he's paying attention to casting. All I'm saying I think there is attention to casting because when you see Debbie are when you see Ileana Douglas when you see Michael Imperial and Kevin Corgan. You look go well. He assembled great new faces for this. This is nine hundred ninety. This is like a lot of their first performances. Sam Jackson like so I. I don't think you can slight his casting casting is good. Yes maybe with the two. He leaned on people that he knew. And maybe that's a financing decision because clearly a studio in want to get behind this movie with Ray Liotta so maybe he did need to put two giant faces in there to be like you got. Let me make my movie because by the way. This is the most expensive movie. He is made up in his career at this point which is crazy. You know this is like amid budget movie but this is you know this is a this is a big a big moment for him but anyway but anyway. I mean that's possible in to credit. He did turn it down. F- yeah so I think deep down new but it wasn't really the role for him but he doesn't eat a great it. Yes I can I can give my benediction absolutely w are absolutely on Douglas. They're fantastic no problem with them. I think in Bronco is the best thing in the movie. I think is incredible. Lorraine Bronco and you talked a little bit earlier about a really otas energy right and the whole the third act. This film is based on that Electric Energy. I think he plays coked in a way. That is incredibly unique and re. I mean it's the editing that Thelma Becker does so well but when you watch Lorraine bracco in that. That's what kind of came to my attention. This she's fucking on her paranoid drugged out version of herself after. You've seen her kind of be a little bit more straight throughout the film. I was a more of this. She's so fucking good in last act. I mean she's wonderful. Wonderful Wonderful Yeah when she takes that gun and shoves it in her pants and I think the makeup gets a lot of the credit possibly goes a little bit overkill for making Ray Liotta just so white in deadly. Oh is is are so fucked up. Debbie Masar looks like a mess to maybe four scenes in the whole movie and each time she disliked steadily worse and worse and worse and worse as brutal. It's brutal to watch. It's excellent costuming. That's fine I mean by the way in we talk about the cost me. Let's talk about the the sets to the set design and this movie I mean talk about. I don't even think it's overkill. But when they're showing off that apartment that's like like Asian fiend and with these like leather couches and a wall that rock wall that opens up to like an entertainment system in bars. Like oh this is my life by the way like I like. These are the people that I grew up with. And I think there's a connection that I feel to this as well In that these people I mean I grew up in this world of like the long and the short of it is the my grandfather happened to. There's there's I said we're trying to figure out what you can say. Yeah I mean it's all public record. I just don't know how much I want to get into. It like here opened the they just to say that I've been around this world and people like this Very much in my life. I'm Italian kid that grew up in New York City in Long Island and And I I I. I've been on the outskirts of this world many a time. My family never there. I will say that. My grandfather got a thousand hours of community service because he was Mafia adjacent And so yes. So there's a there's a couple of things that I that I that I connect to. It's the same reason I can't watch real housewives of of Of New York because it reminds me too much of home that this feels so familiar to me. It's like oh I I know these I. I grew up in Queens and Long Island. Yeah there's some connection there that I feel can say you're like Scorsese's saying that he moved a little ideo in Italy when he was eight and then he grew up around this. They knew these guys and it wasn't that he was older. He realized some of the guys on the corner were really doing. Yeah I mean I had a very good friend whose dad was on disability disability and quotes but yet had the nicest house on our block and like and it was gorgeous and and then soon later I found out like he was essentially like a bag. Man You know just like I. I've seen some stuff simpson some stuff and I'm like I'm not. I'm not a glorifying but I there's a. There's somebody that connect to on these people by the way that going all the way back to where we started like that and my funny you that speech that. I've lived in that speech. I was putting a headlock when I was at my cousins graduation by a guy owned an Italian restaurant. Because you're comedian. Tell me a joke and it got so. I'm like in my early twenties and just trying to have like a nice there. My my cousin that energy of litter I I was in a suit. I was putting a headlock because I guess it was like threatening to him because I did comedy and this person thought it was funny like I literally remember like my head in someone's arm and I'm like Oh this is a this is this is the energy. I relate to on an major major way. I have a couple of questions. Shirk one is more statement than question as a wasp. I find that story absolutely terrifying. All we ever do is look at people mean. That's that's okay. Cool point to when given all of that background what was it like in one thousand nine hundred eighty in your world when this movie came out. I mean this is the movie that for me and my friends. I mean this is a this is probably coming out in theaters which I'm not able to see the form in high school and then this is the movie in high school that is on like repeat all the time so much so that I hated this movie at a certain point I really third. Oh yeah like because you know. You're over watch something and I just felt it to be long and boring. I didn't like the beginning and I didn't like the end and So like I grew out of this movie like I just like just too much. There may have also grown up in a world where everyone loves the Godfather two. It's sort of like it just overkill so I just found myself. Never really like last night was the first time. I appreciated the third act like Oh this is fucking great like I just like. I didn't like it. Maybe it was the fact that I haven't seen it in a decade. That allowed me to like. I was surprised I didn't own it like last night when I went to watch. I don't this movie I've seen it so much. I had the DVD at the flip over DVD's yet the football. That's that was a thing in the beginning parts of DVD's but be that as it may like. This was a big cultural phenomenon. I'm I again. I'm from New York and this was very very much embrace I'm not being the voice of of the Mafia not being the voice of anything. But I I'm from a very Italian household that this is a big big big big. Hey everybody let's take a break from the show for just a to talk about today's sponsor which is a new spotify original. Podcast called son of a Hitman. So let me tell you a little bit about it on the morning of May Twenty Ninth. Nineteen seventy-nine as he left his townhouse A. Us District Judge named John H. Wood junior was shot dead. This is going to be your absolute brand new obsession because what is going to happen in this true crime series is GonNa blow your mind. I mean when they start doing the present day investigation into this murder. The people who start coming up our people like Charles Harrison who you might know that last name.

"Harry and Meghan Markle have settled in Canada. It seems but Madonna really wants them to come to New York. Have you seen this. I did Maggie so Madonna on a has posted a video offering to sublet her central Park West apartment to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Yeah yeah which I can't believe because she's like. Hey Harry don't run off to Canada. It's boring there. I don't find candidate. It'd be boring at all new comments. I'm scared heard of this segment right now because I have had comments from A. I don't know if you call them fans detract fan. I'm mean and because of my past comments about Canada I'm guessing a mean because if things they've said about Canada I love and support Canada. I went to Vancouver two years ago. I took a beautiful bike ride. I had incredible food. I walked across the scary bridge so a lot of evergreen trees. I don't like heights I did it. It was wonderful. Okay Prince Harry's anyway anyway. So in any event Madonna offered her apartment. She posted a video. The thing about this even if she's joking Maggie about this sublet situation is that this is the same apartment that Madonna was in a three year legal battle over Because the CO OP board word at this building forbade her from allowing her kids or her domestic or domestic help from staying staying in the apartment without her because basically Madonna has a lot of homes. We've reported that. She's been living in Lisbon Portugal for the past couple years. And she I guess she was. Letting Lord Lord s presumably because our other kids are too young to stay in the apartment alone and the board said. She couldn't do that while she wasn't there and she ended up losing. I believe so now to maybe. This is just trolling. The board of her co op kind of using some pop culture references. Also this is Madonna with her apartment on Central Park West and she describes it like this. It's two bedroom. It's got the best view of Manhattan incredible balcony. No Buckingham Palace has nothing on Central Park West. I don't agree with that right. I'm just like listen to better them. Seems fine yeah that's true. I mean these people came from a palace totally. My grandparents lived on central Park West. Very nice but it was not Buckingham Palace. I think I also got chased around there too do so like but I wonder Maggie if this Madonna video is a bit of a distraction other bad. Pr that the material girl has been enduring. I'm almost like in this now. Madonna has the fee had that fake English accent reliable and then she recently blamed ended on Guy Ritchie being married to Guy Ritchie. I'm sort of getting it a little bit in this segment anyway from an enduring just because of the it's a Madonna's segment. Yeah but you can't blame listening to my voice for you having an English accent the way that she blamed listening to you if anything. You're gonNA sound like a suburban redhead ahead. Oh Wow I like that. So Madonna's tour. The madame x tour has had a lot of issues. I don't know I can't say on this podcast with that is so it's had a lot of issues. She's been injured. She's been canceling a lot of dates right. She had to cancel the last north. American date. Miami then they went to Europe. She's been in in Portugal. She had to cancel a bunch of shows. Is there like at the last minute. And in fact there's kind of a cockamamie lawsuit that sprung up against her from some fans for her tardiness Um in performing at the shows so you know the tour still has a lot of deeds laughed. She supposed to go to London. She says supposed to go to Paris so I just wonder I dunno it just seems odd like Madonna suddenly is making this video and putting herself out there. Is this sort of a distraction in from other story about these disgruntled fans and we've reported that she's suffered injuries right. We talked Debbie Masar last week. And she said the Madonna just really they try to take care of herself right. Madonna's posted images of herself the thing that I don't totally understand and I'm not I I don't come I don't have a background in dance or theater-like you Maggie. I you know. Madonna has posted pictures of herself with a cane. Like she'll say like can't and do the show tonight. It's like forty five minutes before the show. I need to take care of myself. And whatever and then she's posted pictures of herself literally with a cane and like taking ice baths ads but then she is like show the next night. And you're kind of I mean I've just been thinking as a fan. I've thought well wait a minute. You have ten more dates in this town like and you're you're have a cane like are you really able to perform tomorrow night I Dunno for someone tours as often as she does it. Sounds like wear and and tear on the body. Yeah and she's sixty sixty one sixty one anyway. I mean I don't know I I'm hoping for the best. Do you think that Megan and Harry would take this offer seriously. No I'm GONNA go with. No I think despite being former royals they're not entertaining. Offers from American popstars. Well one good thing about the subway if they do take it is I think. The seamless options will be better than in Canada. That's it for this episode of we hear we'd love to hear.

"Time at the cast was at the season four premiere watch party for younger so what was happening was season four premiere premier and then we were literally at a party in new york city with the cast mates and like drinking and like you know. We're all watching the show together. There was like t._v. Land viacom sicom executives there. It was like huge and then we were immediately go into a live facebook show but that was developing his time when i was t._v. Land decided decided. Wouldn't it be great if satellite and in every single commercial break you know during the season four premiere we did live hits to the party. I don't know if i'm making sense this. This was the scariest thing i've ever done in my entire life in my career ever ever ever even scared and being on the set of t._v. Show thank god. I grew up as eighth eared musical theater training because that was the only thing that kicked in and it was like okay so this is what you're doing. I had like a very specific set of time. It was either and it was it was it was different every time so i had like four i had four commercial breaks and like one it was like seventeen seconds and then the next one was like thirteen and a half seconds and there was like twelve seconds eleven seconds and and they were specifically scripted so i had to memorize scripts <hes> they were also interacting with the cast mates who i was meeting for the first time and we're talking sutton sutton foster peter herman hillary duh off like stars debbie masar. I mean the list just goes on and on the cast is so amazing easing so i'm like nervous to meet the cast nervous to be doing these live healthier like little lies mini plays and it was multi cam so basically like like i would have like like they would like take out like xs on the floor where i'd have to walk. Stop stands spin not spin like cheesy but like split pivot to the next camera because they the cut live to the next scammer to get a different shot. It was the craziest thing in the world but like it was what it was and i had to do it and so i didn't even really have time to there was no no it was just like taylor. Do <hes> and i didn't really realize how scary it was and then we were doing like a rehearsal run through and it was when the the cast finally only like they arrived and so we had time to do just like one quick run through and i remember standing with nico tortorella who was just like can you even and with the hotness that alone i'm like shaking and he was like this is like really difficult like not for them. You know but like for me but not the state like in a rude way like you suck. This is difficult. They were like this is like really challenging. Wow good for you so so niko like made a comment about it and then i was outside a believe as with like debbie. No i was outside with molly. Bernard and miriam shore and they're both like oh my god. This is kind of like a weird alive play on television and i was like i know and then i remember i did one with hillary and hillary was like this is actually really hard was like freaking out because then confirming that it was challenging only made me realize like no. This is like a really impossible thing. I'm doing but anyway i somehow miraculously raccoon. Asli did it and the problem was though i used all my brain energy for that when we finally got to live after after show. I like totally sucked <hes> i know. I totally thought i was going to get fired. I was like i totally fucked the no oh cards. I went completely off script. It was supposed to be like forty five minutes. I think i went on for hours and forty-five minutes. I the cast they're like an extra hour like these things are not okay okay and i have to say that the caz was like so nice and so patient with me and i was like such a disaster and i literally went home and cried for like forty eight hours straight and quite frankly. I'm not gonna lie. It wasn't like oh. You're going to get fired but i'm the woman who was my boss at the time was like you. You need to get your shit together and i think this is important story for people to hear that you know like getting the job is half the battle but once you have the job you've got a fucking prove. You deserve the job and sometimes in the job. You're going to suck and fuck up and make mistakes but don't give up because if you just keep at it and you persevere and you work really really hard and you make debbie as our love you then you will be able to get the job so the live hits a success the first episode kind of disaster totally my fault and if you go back and you watch you can probably see it and then we have like a couple full of episodes. Were there was from tech issues so like not necessarily my fault but you know it's like the host you you kind of. If the ship is like you know going up little of course horse you're kind of responsible for you got to cover for it or whatever that was that what those episodes and then i remember my boss coming to me. It must have been like episode four five so don't forget this is the first season of getting younger and she was like debbie. Maze ours coming on tonight and debbie as like debbie is so oh i first of all i fucking love debbie and i interviewed debbie before my job getting younger a couple a couple of times at serious in debbie's a force man and she has no fucking bullshit but like when she loves you she loves you and she's a bad ass chick. She also doesn't mince words and she doesn't beat around the bush like she likes you. She doesn't like you. You're gonna know it and so and also she's like a matriarch of like the show like she's really close with all the cast members. They really really love her. Everybody adores her and her opinion is very valuable and she's very opinionated so my boss was like you've got to nail this episode with debbie with debbie like if you don't i don't know what your future's going to be with this show and i was like oh my god like fucking doc and shitting my pants. I mean also it's as good as it is to know what you're up against also like it makes something directing even that much more nerve wracking so i wanted this episode like super fucking scared super fucking nervous. I made sure my was on pizzo joint and <hes> that's going to. I'm like so insecure about the way i look to the fact that like that's an added added pressure to an already like you know nerve wracking situation. It's just like i literally had to let go of all my vanity and just be like you know what i'm not hired some goddamn fucking model. They hired me because they like my personality and because i'm a host like it doesn't really matter what i look like as long as they're not like quasimodo on camera like it should be a okay so oh but still serious internal struggles to like let go of being overly concerned about the way i looked because i realized all i was concerned about. I've always was concerned about like the the angle of my face and shit like that. I was never going to be able to get anything accomplished so i had to like get over myself which was very difficult and still a daily struggle google <hes> but yeah but became on and she was fantastic and she was a rockstar. She was amazing for whatever reason she was like. You are my queen and i a._m. Your queen and less rock and roll together and it was like it was an epic lee successful episode of getting younger and then after that episode it was all a cakewalk like debbie was like you're so fucking great. What a great host. I'll gladly come back. I wanna host would you. She spread the word to the cast. The cast was like super psych superstar. Come back because you know so after the first episode. I was a total disaster so i can imagine people being like. Do we really want to go but i can do that but luckily yeah that episode really turned everything around and we ended season one in a really really high note and <hes> and then i was like really feeling like we were going to get a season two because it was just a really great success and you know it was like right at the zeitgeist it was at the peak of after shows and <hes> especially with the show like younger audiences sell investment has so many opinions they have forums and they wanna talk talk talk talk talk about it and they want more more more like the number one thing with younger is always like make the episode longer make the episodes longer and like it they they're not gonna and they they they really can't but like it really i mean i understand what audience wants more because even as i mean i'm a part of the show but i'm also i'm a fan. I'm of you or i want more to answer. The answer did really well and so i was like doesn't we're definitely going to the season two and then fucking fire from serious. It's time talking about one of our new sponsors. I'm so excited. It's just fab. I have been a huge fan just fab- in user of just fab- for like at least a year now and my best friend stacy schroeder has her own collection with just fab so this this is like a perfect partnership. I bought half those trendy off. The shoulder shirts at expensive cheeks in new york. I mean through like three hundred dollars a pop before just fab. I mean guys. "Check with David it's podcast about philosophies, dressers have massive success early on their career or giving us series blank checks to make whatever crazy passion products. They want, sometimes those checks clear, sometimes they bounce baby. This is a weird check it, but it's about sir. It's almost every man movie. It's about sir. It's a big bounce and it is kind of inexplicable, that they gave him seventy million dollars. I'm sorry. When I say nineties booth which was ninety million dollars and the people who gave them that money were Disney Walt Disney corporation, which is insane pretty weird. Yeah. And there are a lot of really interesting quotes from then head of Disney films Joe Roff being like I dunno. Tried so really good movie. We're really proud of it. We couldn't force people to go see it. I mean that's under that's fair. But they kind of threw their movie and they were like, I don't know why it didn't work. It seems commercial y a two hour. Hour and forty minute. Murphy behind the scenes of sixty minutes. We thought it would work. We're very proud of it. I love the movie. It's not like screaming like, Honey inches. They're going to be paying for this box office being. No. I can't see it tomorrow. It's gotta be tonight. Joe Roff was like talking about, like it was the iron giant. I don't know why it didn't connect with audience. But you had this great product and crowd-pleaser. It's good for families. We got everyone Baker hall Venera Kraus's. You know, it's a thing I love in this movie, Debbie Masar. Here's the thing I love going, and I feel like Michelman movies. Have this other films have this, but you see it less and less frequently these days, really long opening credits were almost every actor who has more than two lines get their own card. Yes. Right. Right. Or even if it's a split card by the time you get down to split cards. It's like. Chief from San Diego. Rip torn in this movie. Yeah. I like to shop like one second. Right. He gets a single card single card hurt is, is movie. I think I think he's like one of the guys at the beginning cheese, shake. The yes wild. Yes. But single card billing. Yeah. That's the opening credits for this movie last forty seven minutes. Yeah. Well, it's two hour forty seven minute. Movie. Michael two hours. If you just cut the opening I refuse to it. Most of his movies play on TV as Alan Smith, he cuts. Sure. Because he won't he just refuses to get it down to three hours or whatever. Right with three hour famously says I will add forty minutes, you can put it into a fight offer to beef up Ali to make it for was the heat heat heat. Yeah. It was the big one where he was like, I don't wanna cut a second. But I can add in forty minutes apart from the keep, what's his shortest movie, is it collateral, collateral is two hours of yes was pretty short. But, like apart from no thief's two hours and two minutes, collateral has a beat well, her from that, like black hat will no buckets longer. Yeah. Collateral is the one time he made like a quote unquote lean movie. Yes. I think yes yeah, that's interesting. Yeah. The guy we're talking about, of course. Michael man this.

"Sorry, sorry. Sorry. Sorry, Kevin sorry, everybody little voice Gumma spit. Sorry. So it was good. And Eddie's Eddie from jets and Carol would will be once again, providing pizza for the prom on June fourteenth. I haven't idea I wanted to run by you so J P from broader JP's coming down to the. Oh, yes, he said it's his worst nightmare, but he still wants to help out apple a day. Thank you. And he I think he wanted Monica to go with them. So, you know, somebody, you can hang out, but I she's going to Chicago. So I was thinking, maybe we can find. I know he's married, but maybe just, you know, we find J P abroad for the evening. No, any say broad. That's an interesting word choice because that's, that's a word that I would have used for a woman back in the day. And that's I impressed that JP and I are very similar in that regard in that he might have used that term for a woman back in the day to like, let's go look for some broads. That's I don't know. I don't know J P for back in the day, but that, that would be my guess. So I mean it would no disrespect. I just feel like he's abroad. Man seems like you'd be abroad, man. Yeah. I don't think you have to go too far into the past to find JP using the term broad. So I mean, yeah, I mean what is this broad gotta be down for? Okay. So let's, let's set up some guidelines and some ground rules, number one, she has to respect the fact that JP is indeed a married, man. And unlike most of. Us in radio probably faithful. So she has to understand, there's probably not going to be any horizontal hokey pokey needs to respect his anxiety, because he has that too much like you. Yeah. So she has to she has to be well-versed. It's gonna be a calming presence. Okay. It's so funny. So I was trying to convince JP how much fun it was last year. And I go I only had one anxiety attack last year, early through once it was awesome. And that is a huge measure of success, because at a dinner Seth they'll have three or four any given dinner. He will be outside the restaurants circling vomiting. So to only have one S one vomiting session to tell you how much fun this event was really was. And it was a lot of work to have that much fun. So I would say abroad to me abroad is like it's like Marisa Tomei me to Debbie Masar. Yeah. I don't know who the second lady, you mentioned his, but Marisa Tomei like that, like a New Jersey Brown brunette like Rosie Perez. A Rosie Perez would be brought. Odd. But that voice that says, Boehner killing voice, right there. I just think about her in do the right thing. And I think about her in white guys, white men can't jump and man, was she ever gray mercy as jeopardy wonderful. She was really good in that movie or IP, James holes, our whatever his name was. I've got a an exact definition of broad to kind of tighten things up for us a little bit. It's a word for a woman less respectable than a lady, but more respectable than a bitch. That'll do that'll definitely do we should probably get some parameters for JP a find out exactly what he likes come last. He's busy in two shows. We'll take care of all the accommodations for it. Right. It's just nice that he wants to be involved with apple a day prom. And we want to do what we can do to make the evening fund for them. I would like to my I would like to see JP smile by the end of the evening. My goal, I want I want to exchange, knowing look, JP and have him, look at me and have me go. Wow. He just made me feel like it was worth his time to come down here for this. I want him to say us guys are crazy by the end of the night. Yeah. I want him to go back and have such a great time that he and Roger talking about it on a I can't believe I had such a good time with those loses all those guys were gay. But they're the fun gay guys, right? Yeah. There's still gay rights, but the fun gay, like festive gay, you know, gays the gay. So, so we really wanna find abroad. What he you say, less respectable than a lady, but Morris spectacle than a bitch. Yep. Yep. I'm also opening it to being dude. I mean, even know maybe somebody can talk giants with. I don't get down like that. So what exactly is this broad gonna be like a date? Or is this is this just a broad that we kind of give the task of making sure JP's comfortable? She is his attache like so pretty much if he needs a drill. Yes. Yes. A light of his smoke, even if he doesn't smoke she's there for it. She should smoke broad smoke. Yeah. For sure. Type dress hairspray all over the place. My painting good enough picture, envisioning things you think we could get some broad trolling for broads? Oh, yeah. Seventy seven five seven nine one zero two five to grab a live? Who are you? Hey, what's up? Got an idea for a day for JP. I think we came up with a pretty good idea. I don't know you, but I think their ideas choice of woman, and as much as I can't stand to say, I think you've just pretty much described crazy, Patty. Like I say your ideas, we don't know about her ability to serve JP when he needs something, I think every she falls into all the other categories, not to bring be they're not to bring this up. We have not heard from her since she got her tickets supposedly for MIGS. I know it's been so nice. Are we to believe that she'll be there? I don't know. I, I didn't believe it when it happened just told mix. Yeah, whatever you need. But I, I don't didn't buy a ticket. He didn't buy tickets. He has not bought a ticket for her. Okay. So then as far as we know she's currently not coming to prom which is what everybody wants. I don't think that's happening. All right. Seventy seven five seven nine hundred to five one hundred percent. Okay with that. And you know, we're not going to ban anybody. If you have a ticket, you can come to the damn prompt. Yeah. And what the bone online dot com slash problem. I think or go to appleaday dot ORG, buy your ticket, and we will, we'll have a hell of a time, seventy five bucks. That's it. And it goes to apple a day where we are able to get ipads, in the hands of kids who have cancer, ten o'clock is a good time for your performance orange Fabio and sh medium, jersey ten o'clock when everybody's loose. All right. Is that cool if you jersey I mean I mean it's not you know, you can give us a time but like. Perform, what we're going to perform. You can give us the time. They're dealing with ludicrous, and big boy, all of a sudden, I don't think so. I tell you the time, and you're there, ten minutes early just saying, you know what I might have an earpiece that night I might be I might be really important at night, and you're gonna show up again. Well tell you to be there. I mean, I'm sure they told Redman and method man, you know, to tie not forty five minutes after their schedule. They tell Wooten hey, you guys are going to take the stage at eleven thirty one thirty shows up. You think anybody from Glenn? Is there? No, no. Kill a priest fight. You guys are hanging out VIP normal to drop the crazy Patty bomb up there. Everybody's gonna scurry and scatter, then you'll be down there for your performance. No, no. We'll be. Yeah. We'll we'll we'll perform. Yeah. I mean you can't stifle may can't rush our guys microphones. I'm helping you at the art now, you're, you're holding out on me. So there's Wendy Williams on her show today you needed to do that. Yeah. But let me tell you. She was delivering something by saying last Thursday. She was getting divorced not on Friday. So that it would be on. Everybody's lips. Yeah. Right. As you do that unafraid. Right. Or if you want to do it on a Saturday. That's where you usually bury the new don't want it to be publicized. Now, a source talking to people magazine saying that finally Wendy Williams, confronted her estranged husband Kevin hunter after having the baby the mistress that was the final straw. There was a little shade maybe towards the mistress. When she said this Tuleya talking about real housewives of Orange County about Vicki gun Vilson, having a new. I think ultimately to people were having conversations kind of pointing about the hypocrisy where like, hey, you're calling all these celebrities what's happening in your own life. But she is the first individual woman to get that honor. Congratulations to the Franklin got a little bit of Taylor swift news here for you. She's teasing new project. Very open lessened. You see? Yes, she does is one of Madonna's friends that are go way back in the day with her 'cause I just heard her on a show talking about she and Madonna are all right? Still tight. Yeah. I know we need a little bit of music Jim out in the back of the limo with Debbie Masar in your backup singer so Madam x. Yes that is Madonna's new project Taylor SWIFT's new project doesn't have a name. But if you go over to her Instagram account, she's been teasing it, very filtered, very pink. Which is basically a one eighty from the reputation concept that she's been doing which was very dark, the snakes the gothic print all of that was me. Yeah. So Taylor swift, by the way, a her Stocker has been sentenced to up to four years in prison. This is the guy Roger alva- Daro who he took a plea earlier this month for breaking his probation by breaking into Taylor, swift home and sneak in taking a shower curling up on the. I mean, like there's like lots of great iconic problematic have with her column me in word Instagram catch. She claims her son did it or something has Debbie Masar. Okay. She's fine. The other thing is yes, we have sympathy for Chloe because obviously work humans cheated on. But also, I'm like. Every other week, Hugh, and knowing the fuck, you know, I don't have that much. So I felt very sad for her when, you know, her beloved lamb lamb when Lamar was like on the drugs, and then he ended up at the bunny ranch, and they all had to go. Save him. And I was like, oh, she's got a heart. She's going back. She can I help them. But here's the thing. Sprinkled with Iraq. Like a dealer and rent. But the problem is like how many times can you help someone who can't help themselves. She needs to go. Her vagina like get a crystal up America needs to stop having these wayward penises towards her body. Right. And she got a beautiful baby. Just be happy with the send him packing. Don't wait for him to feel up Jordan at a party. And I just don't the sympathy. Does Wayne when the concept of surprise is so overwhelming like you're still surprised Ma you can't be heeds done this to you for the last twelve months? It's really it's sad. But don't be simple. But also what's wrong with Jordan? Ooh. That's a whole Cup of soup that baby girl is to wear you do not get invited to came in Connie as wedding and then break bad on khloe that way. So she according to TMZ has been begging Kylie for forgiveness saying she was blackout drunk party. Caught and doesn't remember house? He got there or what happened there because she had so much to drink and also just to be clear. So this is a very soapy twist that this person who's like an ancillary character. Could it not be Debbie's are and she's fully and she's fully like, I'm a normal person. No makeup on like literally pajama bottoms on. She's with the girl who looks like press. Probably her daughter. And it looks like her I think, but I I can't tell if I heard voice, obviously tell and then I hear she's speaks edgy goes. Can you give me some broccoli? And she liked points. Leslie jones. Unless Jones being a house hunters couple. It was pretty good like everything was. It was way too long. But it was funny. Nice to see my beloved house hunters getting shoutout. But my first thought was like leave Shriver hosted SNL. But then I thought he's at then he's right, but more like what is he promoting? That's what else I kept on voting. That's insane to promote Ray Donovan on it, whatever. Okay. Continue my dad's which already done as he calls. It the rate Donovan seen right? Donovan like, I don't know. And here we go.
