"Air raid and we saw a lot of that ten personnel, but quietly this offense was actually better running the ball and throwing to tight ends that first year. And I think they need to go back to that in a lot of ways. This is not a team that can roll out four wide receivers. This is a team that drafted Trey McBride who I thought was the best tight end in the draft, and of course, has Zach Ertz as well and has a good running back situation. I think they need to radically rethink their offense if they expect to compete this season. I mean, this is a good point, I mean, I would say, do they view Hollywood as a bonafide number one? Because I don't know if they do. Now, I know they traded a first round pick form so you would think that. But I don't know if they view him as the same scheme changer that Deandre Hopkins is. Last year, Kyler was 8 and two as they're starting quarterback with Deandre Hopkins. He was one in four without him. So how does cliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray in a must win year contracts online all that stuff? How do they build an offense without that bona FIDE number one scheme changing kind of dominant receiver? Because I do not believe that's Hollywood Brown and I don't believe it's rendezvous more, so if they go to a 12 offense, you're also playing to what I would say is not your quarterback strength. That's interesting. Amina, when you think about Hollywood Brown and the way that you look at him is he a bona FIDE number one, I realize maybe some of that's left to be figured out, but right now yeah. I mean, he certainly not a number one in the sense that Hopkins was one of the most versatile and sure handed notably the contrast there, receivers in the NFL. He completely tilts the field in a way that Hollywood Brown doesn't. However, Hollywood brings so unique attributes to this offense, in addition to his speed, you can use him to stretch the field horizontally. So again, this is really a challenge for cliff Kingsbury more than anyone else. All right, let's get to the other breaking news of the day. That's tyron Matthew. And over the last three seasons, Matthew was held opposing quarterbacks to the 5th lowest passer rating among players that have been targeted at least a 125 times. Matthew has the best mark by a safety and he's one of two defensive backs to earn three first team all pro selections since 2015. That's a long with Jalen Ramsey. So he now signs with the saints he goes home, Dan, how do you feel about this signing? I love it for New Orleans. I think first of all, you'll see him play that very similar Malcolm Jenkins type of role where he could play linebacker, it'll be a blitzer, the playmate safety. I love that it allows other players on their defense to play to their ideal positions like Chauncey Gardner Johnson doesn't have to play safety. He then allows him to play inside of that nickel position. They got Marcus made from the New York Jets. The saints fundamentally meaning you know this, like defensively, they're about we want to rush for. We want to play that man to man sticky coverage underneath and they're too safety's really are instinct based vision based ball hawks because of the pressure in the coverage and I think that is what to Ron Matthew does absolutely at his best. And if that pass rush is as good as it has been in years past, this is going to be phenomenal for the saints defense. Nina, this team had a good couple of days in terms of signing and what did you think of their draft, notably you think about Chris O lobby, they really wanted to get a lobby on this team, obviously. Yeah, I think everything the saints have done from the off season to signing Matthew to their draft speaks to their confidence in Jameis Winston. To the fact that they believe they can win now, going back to the lava trade. You know, so we saw some other big wide receiver moves in this draft, the Lions trading out for Jameson Williams, the eagles trading, a first rounder for AJ Brown and then paying him notably, those teams did not trade 2023 first round picks. The saints did that to go up and get olave. That is a win now state of mind, whether it'll work, remains to be seen, but I think their intentions and their approach to this season are very clear and make a bit of sense when you consider as we've discussed the weekend end of C yeah, Adam, when you broke the news about the saints trading with the eagles when it came to the draft picks, you said that the saints really felt good about their chances. How would you add on to that now that you see this signing and then of course they're draft? Well, it's very evident. They obviously felt like they had to move up to stay in front of the Washington commanders and the Green Bay Packers to go get Chris a lobby because I think they felt that those two teams were zeroed in on a lobby. And if you just look at all these moves, Tyra Matt that on a cap strapped team, it's a situation where they believe that they're good enough to beat Tom Brady and the bucks this season, which is why they made the moves for the picks. This season because they believe that they can win the division this season and the honey badger is just more evidence of that. They're playing for now. And if it goes the other way, the Philadelphia Eagles would be the benefactors of it in the 2023 drip, but right now the saints feel like they're built to compete and win this upcoming season. This saints defensive line is dominated Tampa Bay over the last two years and that Tampa Bay offensive line was better than it is now. The saints season will come down to two things. How well Jameis Winston plays off the knee and without Sean Payton and is Trevor penning the legit left tackle that they believe him to be. I can not wait to see what Jameis Winston does this year. You guys, I feel like this could finally be the Jameis that we thought he would be years ago when he was drafted. And when we felt like he brought so much talent to the league, we got a lot more coming your way on NFL life this week. You guys, we're not going anywhere. Welcome to NFL live major breaking news to begin the show and for that we go to Adam Schefter. What do we need to know Adam? Deandre Hopkins is being suspended 6 games for violating the NFL's performance, enhancing drug policy. The Cardinals have known about the suspension. I believe it contributed to the fact that they traded for Marquise Brown on draft night, but Kyler Murray is losing his top weapon on the offensive side of the football. Now they did re sign and bring back AJ green and they do have rondale Moore and they did trade for Marquise Brown. But they're going to be without Deandre Hopkins now for the first 6 games of the season. That is official. That'll be announced at a later date, but Deandre Hopkins no longer will be a part of this football team for the first 6 games, Laura. Adam, a lot of times when you see these suspensions happen, people try to appeal them. Is that something that we're expecting here? Or is this just a solid 6 games and no appeal? Yeah, my understanding is that appeal has been withdrawn, not gonna happen. Essentially, the suspension is final and binding. And so the cardinals will be without Deandre Hopkins for the 6 games and it'll be another obstacle that this team has to overcome as it deals with kyla Murray's unhappiness as it tries to come back. Remember, Christian Kirk is in Jacksonville. Chase Edmonds is in Miami. This team has some weapons to try to make up for and now one of the biggest blows of all Deandre Hopkins has gone for 6 games. We'll be on this throughout the show as well as plenty other things and, you know, Dan, when you hear this news and you think about what we thought the Cardinals were as they added Hollywood Brown Adam mentions AJ green, we thought Deandre Hopkins is part of this offense. What's your reaction? They're not a playoff team without Deandre Hopkins. And they were with before this news. If you look at Kyler performance last year, our stat guy Brian picked this out. Okay, so QBR with Deandre Hopkins on the field 62, 72% completion percentage 8.8 yards per attempt. That's for Kala Murray last year with Deandre on the field. With hop off the field, QBR goes from 62 to 46. That is a massive drop off, 72% completion 65. That's a huge drop off, and then 8.8 yards per attempt to 6.6. That's almost two yards or over two yards per attempt less. That's a massive kind of performance indicator that Kyler is a significantly better player with Deandre Hopkins on the field, obviously than without. And for a third of the season for him to be gone, is a huge loss for this offense. They're not going to be reliant on AJ green. Rondale Moore is a nice piece, and Hollywood Brown now has to step into being the absolute number one pass catching option at wide receiver for Arizona. This is devastating for them. Yeah, I agree with Dan. I mean, this is a massive, massive loss. But I also do think it might indicate some changes in the Arizona offense schematically, this is an offense that under cliff Kingsbury has used more ten personnel than just about any other team in the league other than buffalo, meaning four wide receivers on the field. That's obviously going to change now. And I was thinking during the draft when they took Trey McBride, who I felt was the best tight end available. We might see more too tight end sets, which is actually when you look over the last couple of years, something they've been quietly very good and of course it got Zach Ertz as well. I think that also benefits Marquis Brown. You know, if they are more focused on the run and have that heavier personnel, you could open up some deep shot opportunities for him down the field, but don't get it wrong. Do you under Hopkins is everything to this team? And you know what else is a little bit alarming, Mina is this is a team that has the conversation of this off season is how do they finish better? They've gotten off to such good starts on your cliff Kingsbury. How do they finish better? Now knowing that their start is going to be impacted by this in the loss of Deandre Hopkins for 6 games, how do they start well enough to even make them the end of their season or the finish of their season matter? You know, I want to jump in here and get Adam back involved because Adam, I think the big story has been Kyler Murray and you mentioned that when you think about everything that they're dealing with now, even though the Cardinals have known about this, how do you think this affects Kyler? Well, look, the last we heard from Kyler Murray, he tweeted something about let's go cardinals here. So he seemed to be back on the same page as the organization, but together they face now some enormous challenges that nobody could have seen coming. This potentially being one of the biggest. Think about the Cardinals offense last year, once Deandre Hopkins got hurt and left the lineup with that injury in the second half of the year. They were not the same offense without him. They struggled down the stretch and they struggled down the stretch in large part because of the greatness of Deandre Hopkins and what he means to that offense. Now they will be without him for the first 6 games of this season and they will have to overcome at the start of this season with they couldn't overcome at the end of last season and figure out a way to get it done. Now that's why they go out and trade for Marquise Brown on draft night. That's why they go and re sign AJ green. That's why they hope that rondale Moore is that much further along in this offense in which they have grand plans for him, but the fact of the matter is they have struggled to overcome the absence of one of the top wide receivers in the game. And this is now the latest challenge that awaits Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. I'll give you the final word here. Yeah, I mean, I couldn't agree more. We saw, especially in the playoffs, how important Hopkins was really the focal point of this offense when he played. There's a reason why we all praise the trade, and I want to say, you know, Hopkins is a true receiver. He could succeed at any level, not just as a deep threat or on slants and comebacks, but really anything Kyler Murray needed. Now he loses that. You know, I like Hollywood Brown a lot, but he doesn't have that versatility, and I don't think anyone on this roster does. All right, again, we will find out the official NFL schedule. That release happens Thursday, may 12th to sort of identify when you would see Deandre Hopkins back in the mix with this Cardinals team. I think that's going to be really important as you look for them trying to weather that storm, trying to make something without him until they get him back. Some more breaking news is we finally have our.

"James Conner ran for two touchdowns and caught a forty five yard TD pass from back up quarterback colt McCoy as the cardinals are the thirty one seventeen went over the forty Niners Mr **** division game on a row you know everything was everything was Linus of what you know for for a dog fight so we just came came with the fight to the eight one cardinals played without quarterback Kyler Murray and receivers deandre Hopkins in AJ green but still had little trouble completing the season sweep against the three and five forty Niners Connor finished with one hundred seventy three yards from scrimmage and now leads the NFL in TV's with eleven all scored in the past seven games makori was twenty two or twenty six for two hundred forty nine yards I'm the ferry
NFL Sets Stiff Penalties for the Unvaccinated
"Is cracking down to get players to get Covid 19 vaccines Just days before training camps began, All 32 teams got a memo saying outbreaks among unvaccinated players could cause teams to forfeit games. That would be costly for both the teams and players CBS this morning Saturday, co host Dana Jacobson explains Why there's this no nonsense approach. There's Brady's past Grand Kowske. At the end of the 2020 NFL season, the league managed to crown a champion. Getting there wasn't easy. Covid outbreaks among teams forced the league to reschedule several games, which caused logistical and financial headaches. NFL team owners want to have these games played in full and as safely as possible. Jonathan Jones is a CBS sports NFL insider. He says the league hopes to avoid a repeat of last year, which is why it sent a memo to all 32 teams Thursday, warning that if a covid spike on a team postpones again, which can't be rescheduled, the team responsible will have to forfeit shoulder the financial losses and players on both teams won't get paid. The memo upset several league stars like opera wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who posted then deleted this tweet being put in a position to hurt my team because I don't want to partake in the vaccine is making me question my future in the NFL. He later posted. I got about nine more years than me. You look at the monetary side of this, and of course, it does not benefit the owners to miss out on any of these games. Jones says The NFL memo is proof that owners don't think enough players are protected. You want to be able to deliver on the entire 17 game schedule and then play a full postseason and deliver Product to all of your fans, all of your media partners, Dr.
NFL Players React to COVID Outbreak Policy
"We're talking about the NFL's protocols. Vaccination protocols, health and safety protocols. The fact that unvaccinated players and for staff if they lead to an outbreak, The team has to pony up money. Lost revenue. The players on both teams. Both teams lose game checks. And, Yeah, you get a loss on your record. You forfeit the game, But you getting lost. You don't play that game again. The NFL is basically putting it's foot to the next of players to kind of pressure them to get vaccinated. The NFL is a business that ain't messing around with their money. DeAndre Hopkins just semi threatened retirement and he was just like No, I'm Don't worry about it. He deleted the tweet. He's like, Hey, I plan on being here for nine more years. Jalen Ramsey said. Look, I am not going to pressure my teammates. He says. Whatever they do, they do. He says. I get it. I'm not going to pressure anybody. Stefon Diggs is talking about accountability is availability. He's in favor of, you know players getting vaccinated. Baker Mayfield says that it will be a competitive advantage for any team that's vaccinated. The majority. He says. It's way more than that. It's about safety, general health and well being of human life.
Is Tutu Atwell Too Small to Succeed in the NFL? - burst 03
"Okay. Let's move on to a guy that's being compared by now to rashad. Bateman in that is lonsdale more. He went to the arizona cardinals in the second round. And this is a guy that a lot of people are on dynasty as well. Collier thoughts on rhonda. More from purview. Run more than other guy data you know. I like the talent. I kind of wonder what his role is going to be in arizona that they do have the passing volume there to support him to become a fantasy viable wide receiver. If he's talented as he can't is athleticism has shown. I think he can produce a to be coming up a pretty valuable fancy option. I just. I'm not really in love with them. Taking them in the first round though. Because i'm not confident that he ends up becoming a very coveted player long-term. I'm just not sure that he that it's without getting the volume that Some of these other top receivers. You're going to get. I'm not sure that his death. The targets are going to be Extremely valuable and so. He's renita rely on a lot of catches now again with the air raid being spread system. There should be a lot of underneath stuff or that. It can complement deandre hopkins. So you later in their careers and you might see these. Two guy switching. But as coming out of college rancho moore's is very limited in what it skills that is He did almost everything. From elias scrimmage whether handoffs or getting short yard passes and running after the catch which is it's good for a lot of offense is like i said he could be a nice compliment out nice Robin but to deandre hopkins. But i i definitely cannot see a batman batman Combination there so. I think that the upside is. The ceiling is a little bit low for me for wanting to spend a first round pick. I think that What you can do with a lot of these guys is if there if you're kind of not sold on them at a back in first or early second round picks you know people covet. Those rookie picks quite often. And you can sometimes get undervalued veteran that you know is going to produce next year i agree with you on wanda and it's baffling to me that these two guys have with similar with shout bateman in baltimore the guy. We just talked about a similar. Adp in dynasty rookie draft right now average draft addition. They're probably going round. Pick eight pick or so but like you call. I think that rondo more is more of a second round. Pick because of the fact that hopkins is already there and i'm gonna touch on that a little bit more and say that long-term if let's say rhonda more sticks with the cardinals. Is he ever going to be a number one receiver in target for cal for calamari. Because as long as the andrea is there and he's demanding one hundred seventy targets. There's not a lot of room. That offense to morris thrive. So that's why i'm with you on route. One del more. I think he's a talented receiver but Even before the draft i was not as high on rhonda with a lot of receivers seeing this landing spot to me makes him in less desirable of a prospect for me. So i'm not on the vonda more train either. And this is probably a guy that i will avoid. I have no problem taking him in the second round. But based on where i've been singing going i think he's not gonna fall to a second round. And if there's a toss up between vonda more rashad bateman the board that i'm gonna pick shot bateman That's what i'm going to be doing every every time. Because i just like Bateman a lot. More than i do rhonda more at this point. Yeah i do i. She liked the landing spot. You know. being tied to collar long-term is a is a positive. I think as far as you know where people are going to proceed even if he does come out and flashes rookie year. People are gonna get really excited to you. Know that that's one thing that i think that You either one of these guys are tied up the young quarterbacks that can rush around and can hit a deep ball i just wondered what his development curves because the way he was using college and if he does maybe this guy could be a terrific type because he really is at that super athlete of prospect. We're

"Williams said. I'll be hanging with you all night long. Let's talk about someone who might not be hanging out for much longer. At least maybe not in Houston. Texans quarterback this John Watson. John Watson has officially requested a trade the organizational disaster that that is. I mean, it's criminal. Unless Cal McNair of the owner now can hot fire Cal McNair, Not much is going to change. It's time for straight talk brought to you by straight talk wireless. That's right. Watson requested a trade from the organization. He's called home since 2017 things have been interesting in Houston if you'll remember March of 2020. The Texans traded the top receiver in the league, DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals Eagles wide out to Sean Jackson with a peek behind the curtain on that situation. You know certain players that you know you definitely don't trade and he goes down as one of the players. You don't trick the Roissy scene. You see what type of player he is. Now, you gotta you gotta you gotta can on a dude like that, man. You got a game plan. You know, your whole defense changed around the player. Would have the statue like, you know, DeAndre Hopkins and to have a quarterback that to be, you know. Mobile and, you know, make throws down the field. I mean, you know, they definitely Jill. Good together, so I'm sure that that definitely different for that hit different Also this in October, they fired head coach and GM Bill O'Brien. Then they hired a new GM and Nick a stereo and January On Wednesday of this week, the Texans announced that their new head coach is David Cully. According to sources. The higher has not and will not change Watson's mind. He still wants out. He has not spoken to the stereo or Texans executive Jack Easterby. Here's former Texas GM Rick Smith on what he would do that would be on an airplane. I wouldn't be in the building. At this point, I'd be on an airplane. Now that we have gotten our head coach in place.

"An emerging young star. What hands this guy has. He was with New Orleans very briefly before they Got him and he's turning into a star this year. That's his second hair, the first half and he's a former wide receiver. So he has got those ball skills are really good top by Green Lodge is showing like he was coming in flinching into that a gap as a Blitzer and a couple of guys jumped. Trey is having a tremendous at the 40 Niner. Defense is so locked in here against this complicated High octane offense. They put Murray in the gun, now third in a three left to right throws up the sideline. Jump ball. DeAndre Hopkins hadn't broken up by Jason very red. And Hopkins is slow to get up. Want to play by the read, playing through the hands of DeAndre Hopkins, and he has like vice grip for hands. You can't pull the ball away. But Beretta did Hopkins still not up flat on his back. He is still down, and it looks like he's pointed his belly like something in his abdomen. Knocked out knocked the wind out of myself, But that is an unbelievable play. By Jason Brett. He knew it was coming. Stayed with Hopkins the whole time and then just stays with the football is it hits those big old hands by hop? He usually squeezes it. Nobody has a chance. And Guerette just keep hanging and hanging and hanging and pushes it out with that right hand. Great. Played by Barack, Credible play DeAndre. Hopkins caught a touchdown last week against the Philadelphia Eagles and a similar play and what he did was He just took the ball in the one hand as he went down to the ground to secure it This time. He just played right through the hands. Jason directed and just pull the ball out, and there was that right hand that is, he pushed it out and ripped at the ball and got it out. That's when they're, uh Hopkins fell down and landed on the arm. Right in the solar plexus landed on the arm of a red, So it looks like you got the wind knocked out of him. He's going back to the locker room. And since they don't have their number one target on fourth down and a cliff Kingsbury will Kick the field goal this Mike Nugent made a short one earlier six for six since he's taken over for Zane Gonzalez. He's also made all six of his extra points. Right Hash 43 yard field goal here to cut the 40 Niner lead to a point with 39 seconds to go in the half. Good snap and Healy as it down and Mike Nugent slips it right inside the right upright. So he is still perfect as an Arizona Cardinal seven for seven on the year, So DeAndre Hopkins walks back in the locker room We saw Chase, Edmunds walked back into the locker room, Tim two of their Best offensive players outside of collar Murray right now, a huge question mark. Whether they're going to play in the second hand, looked a lot worse for Edmunds is he was limping back. They're not putting a lot of weight on that left leg. I do. Think that Hopkins will be OK. Just looked like he got the wind knocked out of movement, the defense and the corners and great green lawn. Just everybody across the board Warner. I mean, all of them carry hydro there. Witherspoon, how well she played by an outstanding football. Been incredible. The 40 Niners did it last week in Arlington. When you look at the final score on you see Dallas 1 41 33 the defense case. That's not the case. They turned the ball over four times a game, 24 points off turnovers. The team had 41 Points off turnovers the previous two games. What a difference it makes when you don't turn the ball over no question and think about the Washington football team a couple of weeks that he give.

"Of negativity about me, not practice soon. When I first came to Arizona, you know for those people who don't understand football and who just watch There was a reason that I play football than they watch. Please tell you Tell your friends and all you guys on the local stations. You know if you got anything negative to say about down your happiness I charged to come on shows, but Give a discount to come on the show for for those people. Oh, come on. Give a discount, okay? I'll let you go. But I think this makes me feel a certain kind of Let me just say this. He's the best thing. DeAndre Hopkins is the best thing that's happened to the Cardinals team, sure, ahead of Tyler Murray. He's the best thing that's happened to the team. He's delivering. He's the best receiver statistically in the league. This does shut a little bit more light on Bill O'Brien's decision to say I don't want this guy here in Houston. But he's still an idiot for having done that. You don't move a guy like that, because of how good he is in a difference maker he is There's probably a lot of people who feel like Bill of mine. They don't like DeAndre Hopkins because of how we handle stuff like this, and all this stuff is coming late, and I'd like to practice. But Bill O'Brien lost his job because he took too big of an issue with this. I get it. I was an athlete, this pride guys on the team. Given that this is all coming to light. That probably aren't the biggest fan of DeAndre Hopkins, but you know what they don't want. For him to be wearing a different jersey. So some things you just have to sit there and go. I love this. Man. That guy goes out there every Sunday and delivers and he has been much like we talked about Juju Smith. Schuster is dancing. It's all good right now. Woz because the results were coming in his winds and high level performance. When the performance starts to dip, you go on three. The dancing stops when the Andre Hopkins starts underperforming. The questions will be valid until that all you can do, Shays have that stank face You got going on right now and deal with it. Rude, unfortunate. That's how it has to go. Um okay. There's a lot of players across the NFL that take Wednesdays off or they rest or they sit on the sidelines or whatever it is they miss a practice for this reason or another, and that's totally warranted like that is normal. Normally, Wednesday's a lighter day and I understand that, but I have never heard it really come to light in this kind of manner. So to me, this feels like kind of a bigger deal. I just if you watch that rant on social media or wherever you did It's like the demeanor. He's like, slumped down like I give a discount like it's just like dude. Okay, he's received. He is a receiver, and he is a diva. And he is but to me, I'm like, Hey, buddy. Do you mind like you? This is your job. Okay? Like I can't. I don't care if I'm the top paid person anywhere at his piano anywhere. I still can't just missed days because I want your asking about professionalism. You sitting here in a onesie right now, so chill out. It's Christmas Show out. I mean, you're wearing 10 years I would allow. Don't tell me to chill out. Yours is way tighter than mine and I'm pregnant, So don't do that. Okay, So you chill out work doing Jell O. Okay, That's why maybe so. That's why you always want the lights out. Now. I'm sorry. I understand things A little. It's all started. Come together here in this case, because you're tall. Anyway, My point is, my point is is that I just didn't care for the demeanor. I didn't care for the I'm better than you. Let's have I need to discuss what you like those no matter what you like. Sure, is he? Is He a fabulous receiver? The best one in the NFL right now. Of course, that's what I ask you this This way to ask you this. The Chicago Bears are in the hunt. Just like the Cardinals are not. Of course I would want to Andrea happening on the ball with all the Cubs horse. Would you still want to go to Chicago? Would you be cheering for? Of course I would. There you go. But what I have a gripe against. Hey, dude, do you mind not kind of acting like that. And if I'm covering DeAndre Hopkins away, I was covering the Bears. He'd be my least carefully to cover because he because he would charge every time he did an interview. He act like he didn't want to be there. It wouldn't be in the locker rooms after practice because he didn't practice that day like he be the worst kind of player to cover and I just feel like why do you want to have that rep when you're the best Why? What for? Because when things start going south, you see the same people on the way down as you see, on the way up. I talked to him. It's true talk to him. And you're one Z over there. Change Sure to me. Change your When it's the holidays. Change your demeanor called me fat about 10 seconds. Did not. You sound like a woman? I didn't hate my boyfriend called me fat. I did not. I just said you. You're teaching her specific comment. That's offensive to a lot of is a line from a movie. What movie? You're lying. I'll call you What? Moving over how to lose a guy in Germany how to lose a guy in 10 days? You know, I wouldn't know. I hate that movie. Don't quiz me on area there. I'm sorry. You are robust Red ones. He over there. I like my ones but embrace it. It looks It looks nice on you. It's breathe a ble. Isn't it a big and beautiful and I'm out here. All right Out here on Christmas. "By Geico, DeAndre Hopkins. He tried to go with the epic rant. I don't know if he hit happy. I don't know if this would be the pantheon rant that were played for years down the line. But I do enjoy a good press conference role, and he at least got on a roll. We'll have that for you a little bit. You could tell me whether you think it deserves to be being the panty and there, But let's grab one call Sean in Toronto gives us a shower. What's on your mind, Sean? Good morning. Just a real quick question. Can the Rockets Suspend harden for conduct. Unbecoming. If it if a guy really ugly if he continued to push this, and then I think that would be a battle and in a league where the players have so much power, I think that would be risky for a team, toder that degree. Okay. Could they then could they sit him on the bench? Not play him. You could You could downplay. Um yeah, but I don't think anybody's winning that. I think he's winning if he's not playing Well. Then I'd be caught. If I was the Houston GM. I'd be calling the next I'd be calling Sacramento I'd be calling Detroit and I'd be saying Give me two second round picks. And a guy. And Houston. Get rid of him. He wants out. You okay? Go play in Detroit, where you have no chance of winning. And It would benefit Houston by addition by subtraction, get rid of all the crap. And move on. But when you rather Get the best deal that you can, which is going to be likely from a club that He wants to go to know. Yeah, if you want to dump him somewhere out of spite, I would recommend that you know, if the Sacramento Kings of the New York Knicks want to give the best offer, then that's where you go in. And Shawn, I do appreciate the call. But you're right. You're right. I I think it does show. You know, the teams get put in a tough spot if they have a player who is unhappy, and now you know players had the ability to reach directly to the fans and you know, can communicate on social media and You get people on their side or explain their side. I think a lot more easier than it was in the past have more relationship with fans beyond just Fans of their team that they, you know, interactive than person to things of that nature. I I just I think players have a lot more power and some of these situations and maybe the conduct detrimental to the team kind of path. Eyes one where way, but we're not close that were hardened. But I do think that players have the ability now when they're not happy somewhere, they can make it miserable on the team. And we've seen it work who sought work with Antonio Brown with writers brought up, you know plenty of examples earlier this hour. Around sports of the last decade or so. Basketball football. You name it. You just You've become a malcontent. You don't want to be there. Your attitude rubs off your star player ever. Let's look it up to you as it is. You're supposed to be the leader. When you're unhappy. None of it's gonna work. The markets are going to be competitive if James Harden Wants to Gunma things up. And if he wants out, and once his best chance to get a ring, which fire would agree is outside of Houston. Then. We'll see how far he's willing to go. All right, Let's get the DeAndre Hopkins. I always I like a like a good ranch. Apparently dehydrate Hopkins a little upset about Some things that were reported in the Arizona media about his practice habits. So DeAndre wait in Ah little bit during his press conference the other day. Really didn't listen to it. I don't listen to us. Listen to my grandfather and he was saying, man,.
Patriots at Dolphins: Alain Poupart breaks down Miami's running game
"The Houston was really the only team I would say that actually through on the Patriots effectively this year and DeShaun Watson besides Russell Wilson all the way back in week two thousand. I am curious, you know, the Dolphins do they have a running game. Do you think that they can do that with because I don't see it, but I don't want to I don't want to be biased over here. Either way. I mean, there are 30 second in the league in rushing yards per attempt. They were missing their top three rushing leaders last Sunday against the Chiefs. What's a be perfectly blunt? None of them are impact players Matt breida came off the covid-19. Wednesday obviously he'll be back. When he hasn't made much of an impact after coming over from the 49ers in the in the trade Myles Gaskin is on the Cove in list and he's a nice story as a second-year seventh-round pick who laughs basically got a cup of coffee in terms of playing time this year and he basically became their feature back and he's got some ability. But in a in an Ideal World Cup gasket is your backup is now your future back in this is what the Dolphins are dealing with our offensive line. Also a good story much better than was last year. They're starting three rookies with Austin Jackson am handsome in kinloch. but when you start three rookies pretty much ninety-nine percent of the time you're going to go through some growing pains and their offensive line while again exponentially better than what last year is still not great. Let's say it's worked in like but they're not a whole lot of big old being open in the running game and you don't have running backs off will make a lot of things happen on their own. So there's a reason again there there are thirty-second in the NFL in rushing yards per attempt and complicating matters. This week is they have injury issue is that wide receiver position where they also have a lot of players but not a whole lot of impact players. So you mentioned might get sick you earlier I believe and now he's got a shoulder injury where we can't get any Clarity from Ryan Flores as to his status for this week. It's all we'll see is working on all that. But if you saw the injury really really hard to Envision him playing cards Devante Port Parker pulled a hamstring or had a hamstring injury against the Chiefs you came out in the first app did not return. He practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, so hopefully play it but then if he plays this carrying a hamstring injury. And then so who else do you have left after that now you're looking at your team Grant who is more of a return specialist and and then their shuttle pass receiver gadget Play type of player on offense. He's also got a hamstring injury that knocked him out of Chiefs game. And then the rest of the wide receiver Corps is rookie limbo Junior who played multiple positions at Kentucky. You have a Mack Hollins who want to sign as a special-teams standout, which he is. He's very going to special teams but more so than the receiver and then you have one of the guys being talked up being able to make a major contribution as Isaiah Ford who you may remember from his three weeks with the Patriots after the acquired immune to trade in his office. I knew he was he didn't play it down for the Patriots. I knew how long is not going to last year when he got up here and he said it is freezing. I need a winter coat, you know, what am I going to do? And I just said look, I'm sure he's a fine football player. I'm sure he could make an impact on the team that needs wide receiver help but this guy does not seem like he wants to be in New England right now. Well, no, but he plays at Virginia Tech. So I'm so he's not like dead. He's from Jacksonville plant in Virginia tag, so it's not like he's not he's never been the call before and the thing about Isaiah Ford and then it was often friends are thinking. Well, Isaiah Ford is going to come and rescue the the passing game and that like life. He's a really really really nice good. And he might be in the league for ten years because he's got a great attitude. He works hard doesn't see anything. He's not an impact player. And right now this is what they have their wide receiver Corps. If she doesn't play they have nobody who's going to really scare the Patriots defense and if you you throughout the city also doesn't play. I mean who makes things happen on this office on Sunday? So that that's a big
Larry Fitzgerald To Miss Patriots-Cardinals Game In Boston With COVID-19

Earlier this week, Patriots coach Bill Belichick voiced his respect for Fitzgerald. "Grab by DeAndre Hopkins with three different bills, defensive players around him as you watch that play. What was your reaction to both Murray's throw in DeAndre Hopkins catch Watch murder. You know, he's a talented pastor and tell for him just to be able to get in that position, and you know, you have to understand he's rolling to his left. I mean, and he just He's it up, and it's perfect. And you know DeAndre Hopkins. He's one of the best receivers in the NFL. He goes up in the high points. The football. I think that's part of the most important part. You did have one, um, defensive back coming in. He actually not his own player off that was trying to back that football down and you know the Andre He's just he's able to use his vertical and go up. In high point to football, and then he's able to not only do that hi pointed and catch it, but to bring it into his body were none of the DBS can actually knock it out of his hands. And so, you know, they have a lot going for them out in Arizona to obviously talented players, but that's the play that we will remember for years to come in the NFL. Amazing play no doubt. And Kyla Murray is part of this next young quarterback class. That seems to be so good. So early. Herbert's been so good. Burrows been so good. Kyla has been so good to a tongue go via Loa is so good. Is it different today that these young quarterbacks are so ready seemingly to step in and start from day one that when you got the lead in the early two thousands I think, definitely. So I mean, you look how you know from an offensive standpoint in college coaching, that they're getting in that in that era as well as the NFL, really changing and adapting to doing some things that those guys feel comfortable with a lot of times, you know, Previously it was always this player has to put my sister Miss player has to put my system You know, when you see more coaches adapting to how can I get the most out of this player? You know, how can I mix in some things that they did in college? I mean, obviously put Kingsbury he comes from that college. Just check and you know something success that he's had? No, he is going to put his player in the best position to try to be successful. I think that's the same thing. You see what borough You said with tour. You see it with Herbert, Those guys having early success. You know, the biggest worry that I have is can you protect? Can you protect them? Can they have that long career, so the NFL continue to drive with him? Because i think it's the play of the year. I think what we saw in this bills. Cardinals game is the play of the year. And it's worth noting for posterity that the bills had just one said gave right before it happened. Josh allen had thrown. I think the pass of his life to step on digs putting buffalo thirty to twenty six with just thirty nine seconds left. The snap man looks to his left. Choirs left side. Then go to the point steph. Both touchdowns catches a touchdown pass from josh allen. What cuyler murray then does rolling left. Let's hit pause as his bomb is launched from midfield in his dangling in the air. Because you are a cornerback in your blood in your soul. How do you even approach defending this sort of a play as db well. They did it wrong. Obviously they were all going for the ball which you don't necessarily want to do in that situation and trae white one of the best corn illegal that he was trying to catch it which any coastal tell you. Bet it down. So everyone's out there trying to pad their stats in the thing that i would normally do. Not ideology happens as a particularly big receivers but tall receivers will jump well over the arms can't catch a bomb like that with one hand if you do best one for you. So that's what they did wrong going for the ball in also trying to patch stats with an interception i. I was particularly happy towards the end of that game because on get up last week. I said that stefan digs is unstoppable. Man coverage way. You shut down passing offenses in this league. We all know it. It's tight man coverage you can't do that. Against stefan digs. So he caught the game winning touchdown man coverage also said in that same segment the andrea hopkins is the best contested cats receiver in the league. So the headline was DeAndre Hopkins flips off Trump Caravan, and everyone thinks it's this big. This big ordeal is big. Anti Trump deal this big and tow. How dare he is, you know, some biting some snowflake? They can't even bear witness to trump banners in Trump flags. He thinks we're all a bunch of racist redneck city flipping people went nuts over this. When the truth comes out. What really happened comes up. DeAndre Hopkins does not follow the world of politics. DeAndre Hopkins just was getting on I 10 or just move around. He talked to me off the ledge. I told him why I get a bit aggressive in traffic, and I get it. I get a little little. Maybe maybe I do a DeAndre or two I am not wise. No, but he told him that you changed changed my ways. He changed my ways. He said, Look at you. You're a father of two. What do you were you driving to my house? Because, Yeah, they're waiting for you. Why don't you get there? How about you get there alive? What is it? Was that guy cutting you off? Got to do with you know you get home because it could end you getting home re kids. If you get aggressive and since then honestly changed my waist but still understand, Deandra, we'll look and the political media. And political people think everything is political. Most people are not like us. I liked it. I'm super political and all the things I see all the strategy is what I like. I'm interested in an emission, how the country works in swing states in suburban voters and all those other things that most people are not interested in. I'm okay with that, because I ended up working in a field that gets cover this part. That's me. I know mean am I going to project my beliefs on? Everybody else sees the world like I do. I'm the only one who sees the world the way I do. Mike Russell is the only way to see the world. He doesn't his exact way. Which is what makes us so interesting. Human makes you on your way home right now might be frustrated in traffic. But you have a projection of the world that sometimes The media takes and projects. And we think that everybody hold DeAndre Hopkins must be flipping up Trumps a party must hate Donald Trump. Hebei did it. We don't know that. Does he ever talked about it? I don't even know I don't even want to know what his political leanings are, because I don't care If you tell DeAndre about Biden's tax plan, he'll be the biggest trump supporter that you've ever met in your life after that new contract. That's a great point, but also going back to the conversation We had about race If you had an average conversation with a black voter, you told him Joe Biden's history on race and who he used to be friends with. "And I just have not sold on the Texans. I know they won the first game with Romeo Cornell, but I am not sold on this offense being very explosive. I'm not sold on the ability of the wide receivers to get open. Consistently. DeAndre Hopkins used to eat the Titans alive. I like the Titans getting back Adam Humphries. I think that that he is going to make a big difference on third down catches. There are a lot of people rotating back on hopeful that Jeffrey Simmons may be able to play hopeful that Corey Davis may be able to play. We won't really know until Sunday, Corey Davis Big wide receiver for the Titans, Jeffrey Simmons, a big part of that defensive line, the young second year defensive tackle. I think the Titans come and win big and and I think they put away the Texans and win by double digits to set up. Ah, huge game against the Steelers next week, But I think the Titans cover the three. This line is too low. I think the Titans have been undervalued and we saw what the ceiling is for the Titans with their game against the bills. I think this team feels like they have been insulted by the way that people responded to their positive test. I think they come back and make some big time plays. I like the Titans minus three home again in Nashville. That positive is they don't have to travel after the Tuesday night game, they had a bunch of days to rest before that Tuesday night game. I think they still have some gas in the tank, and I think they get it done against the Texans. So this is one I'm gonna have to disagree with. And my reasoning is, it seems too good to be true. Was in my book. I mean, I feel like this should be more like four or five or maybe even six. Yancey being favored. So when I see something like this, I get nervous because when something seems too good to be true, oftentimes It is too good to be true, Jo. So for that reason alone, I'm gonna have to fade in your hometown team and go with Houston. Plus the three points here. Alright, These next two are Monday night games and I'm going to continue to play the over terrain here. The Chiefs on the road against the bills. Neither one of these teams had good games on their most recent outing. The Bills obviously were not good against the Titans. The chiefs were not good at all against the Raiders. I think the Chiefs and the bills both get things back rolling in a good direction. I think both of the offenses performed better than they did most recently. Look, this bills defense. Has really kind of falling apart for a long time. The bills defense was carrying this team. Now they're back to somewhat of ah, sort of a normal defense in the NFL. They've given up a lot of points. I think Josh Allen rebounds from a double interception game against the Titans. I think the chief's do a better job blocking for Patrick Mahomes, but I think both teams are going to have some offensive success. I am hitting The over 58 in the chief's bills Monday night game by the way, not even Monday night. I think this is like a five o'clock in the afternoon kickoff on Monday, and I'm not complaining. I'm loving having these double dips on Monday night, so that is a okay with me. I agree with this pick your right about Buffalo's defense. It used to be the strength of this team for the past 34 season and and now I mean, it's a pretty significant weakness. I'd say they're one of the worst defence is statistically so far this season in the league in Kansas City coming off a loss, you know, and you gotta think that they're going to be pretty sharp on offense and Buffalo coming off a loss as well. Their offense didn't look good against Tennessee. So I expect both of these offenses. To get back on trap on track, and I think this one goes over all right, and then the other one Cardinals on the road against the Cowboys Cardinal sitting at three into their small favorite cowboy's two and three Andy Dalton sliding in for an injured Dak Prescott for the remainder of the season. I still like CD lamb..

"That's how you could tail what you need, because the Jets players were not fallen, and it's their stadiums true, so they were not falling like flies, So that's what you've got to be able to do. The equipment manager needs to be able to tell the players What they need. And the reason I know this is because my equipment managers of teens that I played on when we had a different surface, they would tell us how you need to change that because this is happening and you go out there and you check and they change them for you real quick. And then you say, OK, I want to play with tennis shoes on or I want to play a little number zone. I don't want seven inch spikes because it is It's grabbing in in his grip in too much forme Week two's a number of players leaving with injuries and we saw one player not show up. But Linda not elaborate, Lynn said the quarterback was it practice Monday and quote recovering well was unsure at this point whether he'll start Sunday against Carolina SportsCenter all night. ESPN radio. If there's one thing we know after a couple of weeks of the season There were two Rather significant offseason moves that have Made a huge difference. Earlier on Greenie. Their names are DeAndre Hopkins and digs. Stefan digs. The fact that those two guys got traded during the offseason. Both trades looked terrible when they made them. Now they look 1000 times worse. It is unimaginable to me the impact that those two players are having on their new teams and their old ones. The bills are to know. And Josh Alan looks like he might be the M V P of the league. The Cardinals are to a no and Kaehler Murray looks like he might be the MVP of the league. What they have in common is they were the recipients on those trades. The Texans are going too. And Shawn Watson looks like he needs a friend. And the Vikings Roo into and Kirk cousins looks terrible, and his contract extension looks like it might have been the biggest mistake of the NFL off season, But the real mistake was trading away his most important player. DeAndre Hopkins and Stefan Digs are one and two in the league in yards and in catches. They are different making players DeAndre Hopkins has 22 catches in his first two games. The most by any player ever in NFL history most ever by a player in his first two games of the new team. And all Diggs has done is completely remake the Buffalo offense. Go back and find the last time Josh and looked anything like this. So these were so easy to see coming. So these trades were both horrific and brilliant. And candidly. Maybe this is just my nature, but I get more aggravated by the mistakes they were. Then I get excited about the great pickups. Anyone in their right mind would have taken digs. Anyone in their right mind would have taken Hopkins and tried to have your team for Hopkins. What it used to do. What is that? It's insane. Houston trading away. DeAndre Hopkins was insane, and now they're paying the price because they looked lost. They look ridiculously bad. They don't have a chance. That's a bad division and they won't win it. Meanwhile, Arizona is in the best division and they might win it. Because DeAndre Hopkins is that kind of good and Kaehler Murray, I'll tell you who Kyla Murray is. Colum. Are people going to compare him to? Michael? Vicky doesn't look anything like Michael Vick to mate. People going comparing Wilmar Jackson. He doesn't look anything like Lamar Jackson to me. You know, he looks like If Barry Sanders was a quarterback, he'd have been Kyla Murray. Colin Murray runs like Barry Sanders. You watch him run. Remember watching Barry Sanders run? Colin Murray runs like Barry Sanders, and he's a great quarter is a great thrower of the football. He's the closest thing to Steve Young that that's the best analogy to it. If Steve Young was 5 ft nine or whatever it is that Murray is Murray is spectacular. The Cardinals are spectacular, and those trades reshaped the entire NFL season. And we've got that through two weeks of the NFL season. Check out ESPN Audio at home.

"The young quarterback that you're trying to help get to the next level is never going to look good. And I think again last night that's a Texas team that they went up seven. Nothing and then would totally and took a nap for two quarters. You think that maybe DeAndre Hopkins could have helped out a little bit on some smaller Chiefs quarterbacks last night. Especially on a night where Frank Clark was a demon off the edge, and to Sean wanted at no time whatsoever whatsoever. In many instances, it guess what helps. Just chucking it up and giving your one of your best wide receivers in football a chance to go make a play that helps Also Last night, the Chiefs defensive line kind of owned the trenches and again harassed Shawn Watson for much of the night. Guess what can't happen that You know Bill Brian's been in charge of building offensive line. He's traded away a lot of assets. He's traded away a lot of pics to do exactly that. He spent money on that offensive line that can't happen last night. I'm not saying it's all on Bill O'Brien because the players have to play and Watson can be better in the offense of line's got to be better in all of those things, and they were beat by a championship team that could be on its way to another championship. But the things that happened last night Actually shouldn't be happening. Like the Texans offense. Should it be completely zero? For two full quarters and whatever they did in the fourth quarter is meaningless because the game was out of hand. What shouldn't happen is the offensive line not giving to Shawn Watson time. What should happen is in on the fly, tried attempt at trying to figure out who's gonna fill in for DeAndre Hopkins because there's gonna be nobody that actually does that well. The one good thing about last night was David Johnson, who obviously comes out of Arizona and he's injured and he is He is a guy that cost too much, and the car does want to get rid of him and treat him away in the DeAndre Hopkins deal. That will that will give you a little bit of leash if David Johnson becomes a very productive back both on the ground and through the air. He carried for 77 yards caught another 32 yards. So had over 100 yards last night running and receiving good that helps ease it a little bit. But again, this is a matchup between two team that could be the two best teams. The AMC And it wasn't really much of a fight. It was 24 to 7 by the start of the fourth quarter, and then you know the fourth quarters kind of meaningless at that point in time. So I I think the pressure on Bill O'Brien's going to be events this year. I think the speculation on trading away DeAndre Hopkins is going to be never ending. And I think that all of these roster decisions that Bill O'Brien's made They need to pay dividends in a big way. Considering you just gave the dish on wanted all of that money. You better have a roster around him. That can help get him to the next level, which is deep into January, which is not just one of the A. C South. That's not enough anymore. And that's going to be much tougher because the Tennessee Titans are on the com and went to the championship game last year. 855 to 1 to four, CBS. 855 to 124227 Twitter, DEA on CBS Morales watching last night's game. What was your big takeaway from the From the Houston Texans side that Bill O'Brien continues to not get it? And a perfect example D A. The game last night, I believe was 24 7. Third quarter made way through Texans approaching mid field. You have this Shawn Watson. It's 1/4 and four. You have not been able to slow Patrick Mahomes Lair and the Chiefsoffense and what this Bill O'Brien do. He punts where he saw in the second quarter. Remember, and you read from his own territory on 1/4 and inches trusted. His offense got it that ends up leading to a scoring drive. It's those kind of moments that separate and swing games when Bill O'Brien is coaching them of being outclassed versus guys like Fella check and Andy Reid, etcetera. The game has changed. The game has evolved. It's no longer about being conservative. And if you have the Shawn Watson and are paying him this kind of money, and you know that you're playing the best offense on Planet Earth in the Kansas City Chiefs in their building and you're already down 2047 in your chances of stopping them coming back and you being a little play catch up or minimized. You cannot be punting in that situation and Bill O'Brien's lack of field for a game circumstances. His theme and the other team at this stage is alarming If I'm a Texan fan And to me, that is the biggest takeaway. Do you think he was scared or scarred after last year's playoff game when he was up bigger than try a fake punch, and it didn't work? Maybe, but not the fake punt it, That's the thing. It's, too Shawn Watson, right, like we're all in agreement here that the show Watson's trajectory is that he could get to a situation where he's a top five quarterback in football. I mean, he's he's a blossoming young store, and I understand you know of the Andrea Hopkins there, but Then draw play, even if you drop pass interference, but having time to Kansas City in the Red Zone yesterday, D ay, where they kept gold for the fourth down, trying to make sure the game got put away by three touchdowns instead of kicking a field goal. They I think they got through penalties there at a pass interference, like those are things that can happen here, and Bill O'Brien just doesn't get it. He continues to not get it. I don't wanna hear about scars from last year in the ABC playoffs. Figure it out, man. It was such a discrepancy coaching yesterday injury can't see the search fog in front of his face and circles around Bill O'Brien. Maybe read looked like he got stuck in a really small dunk tank. It was like this dunk tank was right around his face. It was all fogging up in his own way. I'm thrilled to see what Andy Reid does. Without the monkey on his back of Haven't won a Super Bowl. I feel like now he could just go out there and let her rip in. Of course, he's got a quarterback to be able to push all the right buttons. Just imagine the freedom Reed must feel right now. I got my ring. I got my trophy. I've got my spot on Canton and I've got the best quarterback in football and we just drafted Clyde Edwards, a layer who looked great in in week one. Let's let her rip. I mean, I just feel like this year could be A little bit like.

"Million. I love DeAndre Hopkins. I think he and Larry Fitzgerald probably have The best hands like old school hands. Just they're so strong with their hands. But, man, I mean good for him. That is an enormous Contract for a wide receiver. Did I read somewhere? He has He doesn't have any drops, or he's got the least amount of drops of any receiver in the league. I haven't read that. But that is not surprising. Take that. I think I read that his kids made. They didn't drop one ball last year. His catch radius is enormous. And I'm telling you when he gets his hands On the ball. You just can't dislodge it mean he catches in traffic. He catches that when they're thrown low. He just makes unbelievable catch is he's not the fastest receiver and league, but he's a really good athlete, and he can run. He's not. It's not like he's a possession receiver always had great respect for his game. He's he's been all pro in each of the last three seasons. It's seven years in Houston, right? And in those seven years he got 632 passes for eighty six hundred two years and 54 touchdowns. This guy I mean market. Is on his way to the Hall of Fame. So good for DeAndre Hopkins and you talk about Skyler Murray having a guy that now? I mean, he's got several guy think Arizona is a dangerous, dangerous team this year with what they do on offense and the guys now surrounding color murder to prove your case. They've Hopkins Since 2006 has 225 Straight straight receptions without dropping a single one. He leads in that category among active receiver since 6 2225 straight catches, no drops. Didn't know that And I'm like, No, I'm not surprised, not surprise and he's blowing away number two guy Randall Cobb, 121, Michael Thomas 116 Tyler Lockett 1 11, So he's doubled up those guys all good receivers, But none of those guys maybe with the exception of Mike, Mike, stop Michael Thomas. Has the ability to catch the ball. I mean, all receivers in the league have good ability to catch the ball. And then there's guys that just just have a unique ability with her hands or just natural ball. Catchers. DeAndre Hopkins is one of those guys. We should talk briefly last three minutes of the show for five minutes. Excuse me that You know, the fires have played not only here in Colorado plagued our state, but also in California. Now the story is a couple expecting a baby. Set out this past Saturday morning to share the news of the child's sex by setting off a smoke bomb. It would send plumes of pink or blue smoke. Rising into the southern California air. Well, it went bad. And now 21,000 people have been forced to evacuate because of that wildfire unrealized. Yeah, gender reveal. So. They said that one in 2017 that in Arizona, Rick It happened and The guy got. I think he had a Mr mean let me look at what he so it was 2017 off duty Border Patrol agent shot a high powered rifle at a target packed with an explosive as part of a gender reveal. Igniting a fire in Arizona that groove 47,000 acres in Kaz more than eight million in damage, So he got a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to five years probation order to pay 8.2 Million and restitution. How do you pay it back? A 0.2 million and restitution. I, You know, I probably couldn't do it. Yeah, little by little would be my insurance paid for that. Probably Some of it may be right. I mean, that's like, how do you pay that, like you would take? Most people could never pay that back in our lifetime. This fire that was started Saturday as of last night. It's barely contained. It's already burned through nearly 10,000 acres. As I mentioned it is forced more than 21,000 people to evacuate their homes. What do you just feel terrible. You know, as your baby's gender reveal you should Wow. I think we just vote to end all gender reveals from here on out. Do you think I was already sick of him, and now they're doing damage. They have gone a little over the top with them. It just seems like everyone has to do. It was the first gender reveal. It's been like a decade or maybe a little longer. I mean, this wasn't a thing, though. It's relatively new, right? Yeah. Is that about right to this extent where they have where they pull up some sort of, you know. Creative stunt that I just mean, when was the first Like gender review. I think it was Canada says here the earliest one was the late to thousands around. 2008 was the first one that they've seen. All right, so that's been about a decade over a decade. I never did of gender reveal. I don't want a thing when we had our kids. I mean, they were thing when I had mine, But I just assume find out as soon as I could. I just stood in the back yard with a bullhorn. What girl? Turn turn. Yeah, I mean, you know, No, I mean it. Just Yeah. What? Nothing, Rick. No. One nothing. And The ads. We drove our covered wagon work and just told the people that were there at the bar. Hey, listen, I'm having our idea. I did smoke a cigar. I did to my only cigar of my life until the day my daughter was born. Almost. I mean, I got green really fast, like really mean. Like, Like fast. I was sick. I felt like I got high off a bit. Like I felt that one cigar It was the cigar it believe me. It was a cigar. I'm just not a cigar smoker, and it Yeah, I felt weird. I didn't inhale it or anything..

"The curtain going up on the 2020 NFL season and we keep repeating it bears repeating. He doesn't feel like it's NFL game week. But it is the buildup the anticipation, not Where it typically is because of the pandemic and the wonky exhibition games and all that, But there's still paper to be handed out in the hours before. The kick off of the 2020 NFL regular season one of football's biggest stars. He's right now as we speak, crossing the teas and dawning the eyes on a record setting contract. Now, if you've not been paying attention, you'd been following some other things. And perhaps you have missed this. Let me give you the condensed version of events. So we have now been told that the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a mega contract extension with newly acquired DeAndre Hopkins. It is expected when everything is done, and everything is kosher that this will make him the highest paid receiver in pro football. He's in the high rent district. He was already well paid. But now he's in a different part of the galaxy, and in no money it is anticipated. That DeAndre Hopkins contract is going to exceed what currently is in the number one spot for wide receiver money. And that would be Julio Jones. Keeping up with the Joneses, The Falcon wideout, a $22 Million on average. So if you do the math on that the matter math DeAndre Hopkins we don't know this officially officially But from what we're being told he will make more than 22 year is that 20 three's at 24 million. Who knows we we've already seen some other big contracts that have been handed out here recently in this lead up to the start of the NFL regular season, So here's another one. All right now, keep in mind that Hopkins was already under contract his old contract with the Houston Texans through 2022. The contract was transferred on over. Could be ST there and 40 grand in the Grand Canyon state, the cactus state and all that. So let us discuss the question. What is your take away from this latest big money extension specifically, though, for DeAndre hopping, so I've got the full Moon Express train and squeaky And we will lock all these things together. That number one There is no closing the vault. I have determined I had an epiphany. There's no closing the vault for the gold reserves in the NFL. They know that even though the sports economy Is not great. Right now. The global economy in general is not good. That they still got resource is right. Despite the pandemic, with a bunch of businesses closing a global recession, the industrial complex of sports is still handing out contracts like snicker bars on Halloween. You get one you get, I'll give you a whole handful. Why don't you get a whole handful? Patrick Mahomes? He got the $450 million deal, which is really 141 million Guaranteed in Kansas City. Mookie Betts in baseball. I know that's a crossover story, but Mookie Betts $365 million fully guaranteed over 12 seasons toe where Dodger Blue and now it's DeAndre Hopkins turn to scratch off his lottery ticket. Right. Scratch off lottery Take their It appears the sports leagues as they are operating because off their TV sugar daddies, they are immune. Two pandemics. And recessions and all the things that affect the rest of us. They'll have to worry about like they can only be killed with the blood of a virgin on a full moon. That's about the only way you can take down these sports leagues. It's unbelievable. Now, the second thing here. All right. People are going to react this and then I'll be too much reaction causes the Arizona Cardinals. They're not a high profile team. But this is not without uncertainty for the car. Doesn't I imagine this will be met with a shoulder rub and a foot massage by the football establishment media. And while I will certainly agree that DeAndre Hopkins is on the express train, Jude to Canton, Ohio. He's the conductor. I too, don't you hey, hasn't done squat. As a cardinal. Now That doesn't mean he's not going to be amazing, But Arizona is paying him based on what he did for the Houston taxes. They're not paying him based on what he's done in Arizona. There been thinking he's going to continue and there will be a seamless Transitions kind of like when you have wooden floors, and some of the floor has become damaged. You have to replace them and you bring in a contractor and they're able to line them up. And then they polished them and you won't even tell the difference. If if it's done right now, Hopkins He's got many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many chances in Arizona will be there this contract, depending on the guaranteed money. He's going to be there for the next I would think four years most likely and guaranteed money. But he has as many grabs of the football in a red birds uniform as blind Scott and beer drinking Brian have so in that regard. Right, not knowing exactly how this is all going to play out. That is what's risky business Now it's limited risk, but it's still risky business. You're taking a guy that had success filling up the stat sheet in Houston. And now he's in a nuke division in a new conference playing against different teams on the regular You're not, You're not going to go against Jacksonville twice a year. In fact, there are there's no punching bag like Jackson. You're on the punching bag in the NFC West. You're playing for the punching bag in the NFC West. And while the likelihood certainly is that DeAndre Hopkins will continue to tear up the NFL, he brings the swagger he brings. The PA's as to the.

"The players were wholeheartedly against it. And so it never really got off the ground. I think logistically with football, and you know this, like the amount of players there some on and off rosters because the injury rate the NFL wher they containing a bubble really, really, really, logistically different, difficult. So you go back to April May and this was something that was Discussed, but it never really got off the ground because there were some key figures that were really, really against the idea. I know we love to give grades. Somebody has to win. Somebody has to lose. If it's a draft pick you have the trade, which Jamal Adams You know the Jets, sending him for a couple of first round draft picks. What's your sense with people you've spoken to on? I like what Seattle did its. You know, the NFL's about now, you know, winning now, and you have this opportunity with Russell Wilson. The Jets aren't winning now. But if you're giving out raids or who won, who lost? Where do you stand with this? I mean, I was like, I hate to cut. It Sounds like a cop out, saying when win, But I know two teams and they're two very different situations. I mean, think Joe Douglas when he was hired about a year ago came to the realization they were a few drafts away from really contending. On and it was a pretty massive rebuild he was going to go through. And if this players needed clarity of small, Adams has made it clear to you. He's not signing a long term deal. You have to ask yourself the question. When I get good, is he even going to be here anymore? And so I think that was part of the equation for the chest. They weren't going to give him away. But you know, you do want to get the proper turned for him, and I think they were comfortable going forward with them. Really. This has been discussed between the Seahawks and the Jets for about a month and 1/2 and the parameters were in place. I'd say about a week ago and really for the Seahawks to be comfortable with that They want to see the rules. So for the justices about restocking the covered and building going forward for the Seahawks look the last piece to rebuilding a secondary that once at Camp Chancellor Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, they've got a lot of young players. They like their He's an Alfa. He's a fit for Pete Carroll's program. And really right now they feel like they're close enough, and they view these draft picks his chips, and they didn't think they'd have a chance to get a player like Jamal Adams in the draft because of where they're drafting every year, And so is it a calculated risk? Sure it is. But John Schneider is never never had a problem. Taking those Some of them have worked out. Dwayne Brown is an example of that. Some of them haven't Percy Harvin's another example of that, But certainly I think this is an example of two teams and very, very different position. Yeah, I agree with you, I said It. It's a win win. I don't like giving out this grade because the Jets grade is fluid. That will be when let's see what they do in the draft. Now you have a new GM there so maybe doesn't screw it up like the other G M's did with all their draft picks, and nobody's there, except for Sam Darnold. And with the Jets and you get a guy who didn't want to be with the Jets. The Seahawks get Adam's Ah, and so he's your back in. He's your Russell Wilson with the defense there with Bobby Wagner. So I get it. I got the feeling that they made this move and basically said to Jamal Adams You're going to be responsible for Raheem Mostert and George Kettle like we're bringing you in to make sure you do damage to the San Francisco 40 Niners, because if we get past them Then we think will be the team to beat or one of the teams to be going to the Super Bowl. And they felt like really like he was a smaller version of Camp chancellor in a lot of different ways, like he's more versatile and chancellor. He's the sort of presence physically the chancellor Wass and like you said. I think if you look at the Seahawks problems the last few years they have related toe having trouble. Covering tight end. So is George Candle. It's Tyler Higbee, with the Rams like this has been a problem for them. And so its shores up a lot of issues for them and their on field standpoint, But the off field stuff I think is important to like I said, Like, I think such a big part of who they were when they were really great. The secondary was having those alphas in the secondary, and this really gives them a guy. It kind of brings together that young group may give that young group and edged really likes Shaquille Griffin. They really liked Trey flowers. They really like marquees player. The kid they draft out a Utah a year ago on got quandary. Diggs fromthe lines and they really feel like bringing in a guy like Adams is going to bring them that sort of edge in attitude they have when they were winning. I'm in a very high level. Albert. Thanks for joining us. We appreciate it and we'll continue to read great stuff. With the M Q Being Albert Breer senior NFL reported there for the MM Q B. And I started to think about that Seattle move and, you know, maybe it doesn't address all the problems that they have. But you got a guy who's an impact guy. I was also wondering about this with Adams. If This is an offense that still need some weapons. And that's why Russell Wilson is openly pleading with the team. Once we know what's happening with Antonio Brown in his suspension that the Seahawks go get Antonio Brown. Look at the number of games that Seattle one last possession or less than a touchdown, like their margin of error. That is a good offense, but it's really because of Russell Wilson. They went through a lot of running backs. They're the only constant is Russell Wilson and what he's saying is something that we've heard on the East Coast for a long time from Tom Brady. You've got to get me some weapons here because, after a while, there's only so much magic. So much, You know, magic dust like in Sprinkle here. That's the bigger concern. I think Seattle moving forward. Rams still have a good offense. The Niners have a good offense. Seattle's offense is Sort of trial by error. And it's using comes down to the fourth quarter. You say to Russell Wilson, can you win the game for us, and I think that's really difficult. It's really difficult to pin that on him weekend in week out, but That would have been my only knock on this could they have used? Let's say you could have gotten DeAndre Hopkins. If you consider what Arizona gave up for DeAndre Hopkins Stefan Diggs. This is what I didn't understand with Seattle. Those air guys who are impact players to I could look at Jamal Adams. I don't. I don't have tohave him. I like having him. But boy, would I love having DeAndre Hopkins or Stefan Diggs? And they got DeAndre Hopkins for nothing. Now you gotta pay him. But you're gonna have to pay. Adams is well. And that would've been a smarter move. In my opinion for that Seattle team. We'll take a break. We'll get phone calls. We'll talk about this NFL list that's guaranteed to upset me this morning, and I wasn't planning on that Make love and I was just going to go on. It's a stupid list. Here we go again. It's totally incomplete to that'll make even your method. What they're up to 40 play The day's up next. Your phone calls who's well here on the Dan Patrick Show. This is the easiest drive ever made from the airport and season to just so you know the whole theme is heart of a hero and we're really trying to identify People that are changing the game and and that's who were having an inviting on season two of the Pike Aston. You probably more than just about anybody. I know are changing the game in a multitude of ways and I and I wanna get into that so you are truly a game changer. Speaking of the game game changers. Have you seen the movie I have in before I even get into that? I mean I just WanNa share on August the impact you and your family out on my own life and just how much a fan of yours and incredibly sincere. I've watched forks over knives yet more times than I can count Shared it with more people than I can count And you don't want. We got a chance to connect few years back. Did you like it. I love that movie. Yes in fact. You're so intimately viable that but I'm having to stop myself showing you a clip. Because it's almost every time someone comes to my office injured in this subject. But of course that would be lost on you because you set the record for most I think most downloaded most downloads of a documentary ever and they broke it in a little over a week. It's remarkable and it resonates so strongly with me for so many of the reasons that it also resonates with you of course But even as somebody's building business it was really important for me to see this You know growing up we were very much exposed to the got milk campaign. I mean that was something that was a big part of culture and and maybe less so today but you know the use of athletes to promote a particular type of animal-based protein with something the California Milk Board. Did you know very well And and that was something that because of my own background and interest in the milk industry. My family was doing I paid a lot of to the got milk campaign with came time for me to start my own company I. She hired the original sponsor of that campaign. I'm Jeff Manning on the California Milk Board. He had left since you grew up on a dairy farm. I grew up in the city. Okay on my dad's a professor and we He he didn't like being in the city and so he wanted to have a place to recreate because he grew up in the country and so got a farm Very early on in my childhood and he's kind of entrepreneurial so ultimately we get wholesale cattle there Dairy but but he rate so To went back and found the person who who wrote the original mandate for the got milk campaign of someone named Jeff Manning on the California Milk Board and that led to that campaign with milk mustache. And you know Bo Jackson Derek. Jeter et CETERA. And so I asked him to come work with me so we were together for a number of years creating the future protein campaign that we have here on the go beyond campaign and it's been been remarkable woman named Beth. Moskowitz has brought in more athletes. I can count Really remarkable career having or you know deandre Jordan Deandre Hopkins Chris Paul. They are now getting behind the idea. That a plant based Diet is the best performance and so game changers just nails that yeah and and there's a scene in there with the Tennessee. Titans football players and chastity. Morgan yes is cooking. I think some burgers on a grill. Those beyond Meat Burger. Yes we love the the Morgan's and all they're doing and I think that's just a great story and you're seeing that Clifford throughout the NFL particularly NBA. Where lightness quickness is so important you seeing so many. Nba Athletes turn to a plant based Diet for no other reason improve the performance. They also love the social aspect of it. They love the disruptive Challenger. Let's let's not do things the way we used to do. Let's bring something forward in this. World is a little better for for their kids. The challenge the status quo. Yeah there's a big big part of that
AP Source: LA Rams trade WR Brandin Cooks to Texans

"It's going to spread the field in. Give him more room so when he wants to run. I think he ran for about five hundred yards last year. Submarine for over a thousand Oklahoma So I think this is going to give him more opportunities in the run game and as we've seen he's very good protecting himself once he gets into the open field. Look I made is is is one of those things where you're trying to build strength on strength and with Cliff Kingsbury offensive mine. A guy who showed that he could put together an NFL offense last year. Don't his first year as a head. Coach in the League calum. Murray you talked about Kenyan drake in his Gerald Christian Kirksey. Andre Hawkins. You now have an opportunity in this division where we can say the LA. Rams are coming back to the pack. We say the Seattle seahawks are always there but maybe the Arizona cardinals make some ground up on the Seattle seahawks and put themselves in a position. Where maybe they can't compete to be anonymous seven Tennessee team. If everything goes their way is just really interesting to see how that has been put together. Because if they get this offense rolling They could have one of the more explosive offenses not only division but in the NFC. What do you think about this from? Receiver Personality Develop personality where a lot of high maintenance that you have to deal with navigate through and also. Let's be honest. Dj this draft is one where there are so many wide receivers. If you have a good feel for holiday evaluated pick receivers you can find a guy that can replace. Stefan digs production performance for the buffalo bills. This is a tricky one. I love upgrading. The wide receiver core. I think is important that they have the ability to get big plays in the passing game. I just wonder if Stefan digs is a good match for Josh Allen. We talked about building a basketball team and buffalo even building attracting. You got speedsters in the like but you have to make sure that your wide receivers can make up for Josh Allens deficiencies when it comes to his accuracy in his ball placement. I lost their findings. He's not a big receiver. So it just. I just want to get another big guy to do some of those things that they eventually need done when you have a quarterback Josh Allen at the hill. Yeah it's all point guards. Funded six footer coal. Beazley's not a big guy. John Brown not a big guy. So there's nobody really to play above the rim when you get down to the red zone specifically there as well so that to me was a little bit interesting but remember. I think people forget about remember. The buffalo bills had the trade for Antonio Brown before Antonio Brown pooh-poohed it So that was the type of player that they were looking to find. And I don't think Stefan digs is as talented as as Antonio Brown. But he's that type of receiver years until what they mean is remember. Brian Ball spent time with the New England patriots and a lot of the New England. Patriots stuff was catching run. Option routes get it out the quarterback's quickly and then let those playmakers have their way in the open field. We saw the buffalo bills. Colby's ahead a very solid season for the buffalo bills. And if you think about Rework in this offense where you won't Josh Allen to not only push the ball down the field off but they also have some of that quick screen quick `isolation route game some of that stuff to emptied out into formation out. Stefan digs in. Kobe would a headache to defend We just have to continue to see the development the maturation of quarterback to see if he can get his skill set to match the level of the playmakers that he has around him are. Let's get to what happened with the with the D. tackle situations specifically. What the forty niners they resign. Eric Armstead five years. Eighty five million dollar deal We thought okay. They're gonNA keep this whole group together. They're investing in that defensive line. And then the shocker came They ended up trading deforest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts for the thirteenth overall. Pick in buckner sends a new deal there over at twenty one million a year buck which puts him just behind the We talk about highest defensive tackles in the NFL so forty niners a team. That needs some draft picks. We talked about the fact that they were actually in a trade out of the THIRTY FIRST FIT. Just to get some picks. Now they have thirty first pick as well as the thirteenth pick and I actually Kinda liked this. Trade for both teams about you. Know is interesting. Because you know Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts like there is something to when we say in the acquisition business Knowing the proven player as opposed to guess behind West West behind door number. One door number two The one thing that the Indianapolis Colts no is tangible approved. A deforest. Buckner is a dominant player. We've seen him do it. We what system works for him. We have seen him play at a high level. International Football League Sometimes we become so a namen. Look you and I both come from. The Colorado is easy to become enamored with hoarding graphics. And being able to a let's make our picks and we're GONNA get them all right but we understand. The success rate is really really hard when it comes to lean on the draft and so I can appreciate Chris Ballot leaning into the trade market to get a blue chip players someone that he knows can dominate dominate for long time. But also can appreciate the San Francisco. Forty niners wanting to have more ammunition to up their team and this would not be discussed but I think is something does factor intuit I know force bug was a dominant player and for so long lash you we talked about the San Francisco Forty niners having Five number one picks on defensive line and I'm not saying that Solomon Thomas can go and do deforest. Buckner does are dead. They play the same position but I do believe that when they're looking at their roster and they're looking at how they've invested in their d. Line I do believe the Solomon Thomas Factor has to come in because somewhere in that room somebody feel like Solomon. Thomas was a high in blue-chip player. A just needs a chance. Maybe that is why they feel like they could move on from deforest buckner. Maybe find another replacement for him while maybe giving us Solomon Thomas One more opportunity to get on the field in some way shape before we talk so much about those five for round response. There's some good depth and some really good players behind that group too when you talk about. Dj Jones who's got some ability. It's really interesting player there and I'm looking at this draft in the wake out. Just if you look at the needs we're GONNA see a run on the offensive tackles early. We're GONNA see those quarterbacks go so is it crazy to think that in my opinion two of the seven or eight players in the draft our our Derrick Brown. Giovanni Ken Law. I don't think it's out of the possibility. One of those guys gets to them They're thirteen and now you're talking about be they'll replace somebody with a on a rookie deal five years with control and your defensive line knock escapee deaths Deal I think that's a good thing. Dj We talked about Part of building. The team is being able to have those conversations with your brain to fro in college departments together and you talk about the transit weaknesses of the free agent market in the draft and being able to accurately assess. Here's where the draft is strong. Here's where we're looking at. If we're at this pick what could be available and the name that I think about you. Talk About Brown. But I'm thinking John Kinloch could be sitting right there for them. We talked about a mock drafts at madrassa what they are. But we saw about Ken. Lobbying mocked to the Tampa Bay buccaneers. But we hadn't had scenarios where we saw him going before that when San Francisco for non you're sitting proposition to get a guy that can in essence do deforest buckner did and as you said do it on a cheap quick contract to be able to then take that money that you would spend on buckner and spread it around to other positions. Look I I think a smart thing is a smart play and I think is one of those situations where the San Francisco. Forty niners could have a couple of different positions that target. A IF KEN law isn't here let's turn our kids and again the big time wide receiver. You know There's just so many options for what forty niners need that are available. It makes sense to be able to have two bites at the apple in the first round are. Let's talk about a little bit what we've seen free agency in how it impacts the draft because it is it is something we're talking about here with the forty niners and what it does for them but I think it's it's fascinating when you look at the Miami Dolphins loading up. They go out and pay Byron Jones all that money they go out and get kyle. Van Noy They've been very very aggressive. Shack Lawson They brought in him So they've addressed a lot of spots of air flowers on the offensive line. This is not a team that's pointing towards tank for Trevor. In in twenty twenty one. This is a team. That's trying to win right now. Which to me. Points to the fact of any talk of them kicking the quarterback thing down the road is is this team. That's going to take a quarterback And makes a lot of sense with the fifth. Pick to do that and we've talked about it buck We you know. I did not rule out the fact that I'm taking her over to a and when you look at all the pieces in place to go try and be competitive right now. Maybe it's a situation where they say. Herbert we can plug them into the lineup. And let's get going right now Chris to you might be looking at a red shirt. I'm not saying that's what I would do. I know it's not what you do as well but that would not shock me now. I think it gives them options. It gives them options at the quarterback position to do what they WANNA do and do at how they want to do it. Whether it's two or Justin Herbert I think we need to understand it. Ryan Fitzpatrick played well enough for them to be. Very Competitive Ryan. Fitzpatrick also has a relationship with Chan Gailey and dependent upon how Chan Gailey Views Ryan Fitzpatrick as he ages gracefully position. Maybe it does give them a year or two to groom a quarterback to be the starter. But I absolutely like what the Miami Dolphins doing and actually I was. GonNa Pitch this out to you because we've talked about the old model of team building and how everything is about the past game and so we were ranking prioritize positions as a quarterback pass rusher left. Tackle cornerback the Miami. Dolphins went out and got barring Jones. Made him the highest paid cornerback. In football a year ago either year ago two years ago they signed Xavien Howard to a big time extent they have to high price corners on the edges doesn't appear that they have like a marquee pass rusher but we've seen the New England patriots in the past. The pages put their energies and efforts in coverage not pass rush..
"deandre hopkins" Discussed on NFL: Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah & Bucky Brooks
"And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks. What's up everybody? Dj Bucky here with move the sticks. It is a crazy crazy frenzy. Time Right now. Obviously in the world on on the on the importance scale when football. It's been it's been a while right over the last couple days. Bach and we have a lot of things. We're going to cover today as a recording. This Tom Brady is it's been announced. He's not going to be coming back to the New England patriots so we are going to do the podcast right now. Not Knowing we're top rates go. We're going to get this out to you where we cover a lot of different topics and then once the Brady decision comes down. We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA produce another podcast just on where Brady goes what that means for his new team as well as winkle patriots where they go from there to be a brief podcast. But we'll do our best to get that out to you as soon as possible as well. But there's a lot to get to with what we already know around the League right now. The movie crazy stuff that transpired move in the league. I feel like it's just an ongoing Circus just like so many moves so many things happening guys going people using the trade vehicles to upgrade their teams and then finally getting word today of some guys on a trade block. Some guys that are assigned a free deals Has Been Bananas Last? Twenty four hours. Well let's start rolling through Some of these other move circus because we've got a bunch of stuff off to talk about here as we're talking. I mean deals. Just continue to come down one after another after another But why don't we jump in here? I bucket and talk about some of the quarterback stuff Just a little bit before. We started recording. Let's start with the CAM. Newton News That's going to be friendly ending there but it is definitely an ending yet. Dj I think ultimately like the team made a business decision to move on from Cam Newton. They have given him permission to seek out a trade This obviously means that when you look at the timing of it. They've been in. Negotiations obviously was some quarterback and they feel like they're close again the deal during which is why would then allow Cam Newton to shop services to other teams. I feel like this is something that we expected to happen when they say they can with come back. It was a bit of a surprise but now we come to know they were trying to protect themselves to make sure that they get the quarterback that they want before they move on from the long term starter. That really helped a franchise gives us problems. Yeah I mean. I'm just curious to see what his next move is I. I had a tough time coming up with teams buck that I think would be in on Cam Newton A saw a new one that was mentioned was the Washington redskins obviously familiar with Ron Rivera. with coach. Turner their offense coordinator. Who's got had a really good run to start twenty eighteen season so that I guess make some sense of the any of the teams. Stand out to you with him. I don't even know if that would really make sense because what you have. Is You gotta young starting quarterback into Wayne Haskins If you bring Cam in there if you any sense that Dwayne is going to be Your Guy. You only stunt his growth by having cam there and then and actually rally. What is Ron Rivera? Really think about Cam as a starting quarterback he is got Turner. They've embarked on this new mission in Washington. Do they see cam as being an upgrade or somewhere that they could come to build the franchise around as they're trying to change the culture there? When really survey the landscape easy? I don't see really good landing spot for Cam I know in the past. Chicago had been mentioned as a possible destination. But when you get outside of that without knowing his health status. I don't know how anyone could say that. A there's a starting job waiting for Cam Newton elsewhere because no one knows and I also don't know how many officer coordinators are take on their project to get back to playing at a pro bowl Yeah I mean I definitely think it's It's difficult to come up with the team. So we'll see what happens there with him as we're doing this in Buckeye man. I'm just kind of his scrolling through twitter reporting it looks like Teddy Bridgewater in the panthers are close on three year contracts. So that to me is is interesting fit. They're going to move on from Cam Newton and then tape bridgewater comes in there and I would not be shocked if they used their their first round. Pick number seven overall on a quarterback as well but to me. It's kind of a new start hearing and it looks like Teddy Bridgewater is going to be that guy so dj if you go back and you connect the dots There couple things impacted when you talk about the Panthers Teddy Bridgewater Obviously Joe. Brady's the new office coordinator Joe Brady spent time with the New Orleans saints as an offensive assistant basically and talking to people from the saints. They say that when you looked at. Lsu Offense Joe Brady was basically using a scaled down version of what the saints have done for years. Their base plays to really dominate. The college. Game Brady has been elevated to be an NFL office coordinator. WanNA REACH BACK TO NEW ORLEANS GIDDY. Bridgewater who knows not only the base level offense of what he can bring some of the new innovations in new variations. That they've Addison's job rated afford it to me. It makes sense the only thing that I worry about. If I'm teddy bridgewater is how long is my leash on the starting job because if they do. We're speculating a they're going to draft a quarterback in the first round. You know the clock starts as soon as they draft kit. So if I'm teddy bridgewater is this the most stable insecure situation that could be in. And can I get enough money to make me feel? Okay with what could happen in a year or two if they do decide to use me as a bridge quarterback in transition. I would think that the Patriots if the Patriots are in play would be a little better deal just in terms of the way that the team is being constructed in the way to Bill Belichick as treated quarterbacks previously but a when you got sixty million on the table depending on the amount of guarantees that are in there. I can't afford Teddy Bridgewater for taking a big deal. Yeah I think it's interesting and I I think it's also fascinating you're inside this division here with the saints kind of having to make their decision of what they wanted to do going forward and now you have teddy bridgewater playing for a division rival. So it's GonNa be fun to watch that all unfolds We could go through a bunch more quarterbacks stuff here drew brees. I don't think there's really much to say there. We expected that He's back with the saints I expect probably by the time you're listening to this. At the Philip rivers deal will be done with the with the Indianapolis Colts so that takes another one off the market but when we look at the wide receiver position. I mean I try and make sense of this. When you look at the trades for the Andre Hopkins and then you look at at the trade what happened with the buffalo bills acquiring Stefan digs trying to sort out the difference in compensation. There is mad. It's mind blowing a difference between the two they bring the Is is a difference but DJ. We've talked about this when we're building a team in organization. There's a reason why teams have general managers and head coaches and they're typically not the same person ideally want to think about building this like branches of the government. You want to have a checks and Balances System. Ultimately someone has the final. Say would you like in a front office? Have General Manager who can challenge the coach and vice versa. I've always fill hit coaches. Think about the here nail. What can we do for the team today? Maybe tomorrow the general manager is supposed to think about the long term viability of the franchise. How can we have a long sustained stain successful run Were we can compete for titles. And sometimes that might mean taking a step back or not making a move whereas hit coaches because a lot of hay coaches are little more emotional and reactive. They have a tendency to kind of get in their feelings. And sometimes that can be the driving force of the moves that they make a felt like in Houston. Whatever the situation was bill. O'brien and the Andre Hopkins. It was at a point where he felt the need to make a move and wanted to make the move right now where I think a general manager would play it out a little slower and try to really build up that market before. They made the move. Ah Buck I mean. It's it's interesting when you look at the compensation for the two players you look at at at Hopkins. What he was able to get in return. I think you ask anybody around. Lee's top five wide receiver But You J. D. Andrei Hopkins Anna Fourth Round. Pick you get David Johnson. In his big contract running back has not been saying who the cardinals were looking to get rid of. So you're going to take on that contract and you get a second round. Pick this year in a fourth round. Pick next year. So that's what you get for Hopkins and then you look at what the Vikings rail to do in their move they send defined eggs they get a one a five a six and in a twenty twenty one four from the day for for days they also include a seventh round pick with dicks but but to not getting one for Hopkins at least a back in wants something That was shocking to me. I mean it is shocking. But we've seen Lebron can do a handful of these deals and you understand. Dj like is. There's an experience and wisdom that comes with kind of thriving in the general manager role. And when you're a head coach in so many your obligations are getting the team. Ready to play in dillon with things that are related to onfield action. You don't have the ability to understand fully how to execute personnel moves how to weigh in play the TRAE game and all of those things and what you're seeing in in that aspect you saw inexperienced general manager take advantage of it inexperienced personnel man Steve. Tom Played played it out. He was able to dump a player that they really didn't have any use for an get. Becky big time player while without having to get up a top pick. I mean it is just a classic case of inexperienced guy taking advantage of someone who doesn't fully understand what they're doing and that's why I said yesterday when this all went down. This is exciting for Kylo. Murray not just because what you're GonNa get with the Andre Hopkins in this offense with Andrea Hopkins who Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald and also Kenyan Drake. They're gonNA keep who can really get involved in the past Games. Well out of the backfield but this freeze them up now they can take tackle with. The eighth overall. Pick they resigned. Dj Humphrey so the hope is you get this offensive line in good shape. You're going to be able to get more guys out into the route which is going to give him more options. Especially when you have somebody like Hopkins. It's GonNa demand attention so you're going to have more options out the route but buckets..
"deandre hopkins" Discussed on Clock Dodgers Podcast - Motivation | Fantasy Football | Comedy | Pop Culture
"Closed at people we don't trust will cough or sneeze. We don't trust anything so it's really fit in too fanciful trust issues right now. It makes a lot of sense. We're in a world where it's important right now at them to either trust or not trust certain situations. So let's do some fancy football trust issues. What we WANNA do is I want to keep our trust issues. All of our segments are in our pick one. I'll all these things. Keep kind of around the free agency a little bit so the first one will start with. It's awesome hooper. We talked about him signing with the browns last year he was a top eight tight. Nfl able to top six PR from from correct But Awesome Hooper finishes twenty twenty as a top eight tight end in Cleveland. New Star in tight end of the browns. You Trust that atom or do you trust issues with from fancy serious trust issues. And that's crazy to Chris. Being tapped while Titan is basically just like. Did you play the whole year? We ended up talking to all tight end. But there's a good chance he doesn't play the whole year. I mean that can happen. First and foremost it's possible for any tight end. But furthermore the situation is definitely a step down. I mean he was Matt Ryan go-to Guy in the red zone for a lot of last year. He still was only a top six. That at you wasn't in a league tight end. He had a great stretch run in that he was hurt so the possibilities there for him to get hurt again this time again and then you also have the offensive style change. Cleveland IS GOING TO BE. A run first team. They also have that are receiving option comparable receiving options to Atlanta it. O B J Landry. But not as good of quarterback late in Baker's. So you've got a team that's GonNa pass the ball last. Probably be less efficient asking them all and he's got to compete with just as much competition. I I personally hate it. I think it's a terrible landing spot and ultimately I think that he's probably going to be a guy who's overdraft fantasy. Yeah like I said there were reports out there. You know people talking about the new coach the targets that he have tight ends. I think last year the tight ends. We're LIKE FIFTY FIFTY SPLIT FORUM. Kind of you know that happens obviously. That kills hooper compared to last season. So I'm not crazy about it either. We don't obviously. We don't know how this is going to end up. You know if they're gonNA keep in joke I they move in with that changes kind of everything for Hooper and how I feel about it but if they keep him which. I really don't see why you know there's no rush to get him out of there so you know I just assume he's GonNa stay basically and if I'm assuming he's GonNa stay. I don't think he's the top guy either but if he goes I think there's a good chance he top eight Next on the list next trust issue we have deandre Hopkins. We'll finish wide receiver five or better as a cardinal with his new quarterback. Kyle Amaury Trust issue that. I'm GonNa see Truss van. It's definitely it's definitely the top end of projection obviously top five wide receiver in the entire league and more likely than not know. Wide Receiver doesn't like regardless of his name trying to protect anyone to be a top five wide receiver at the end of the year. The likelihood of doing that is extremely unlikely that being said He's going to off. It's a situation that should be really really positive for him Likely is going to see a comparable target share to what we saw with Shawn. Watson is far as offensive efficiency. The cardinals word. Offense is trending up the Texans on offense that was trending down even before the trade more likely than not so. There's definitely the possibility Obviously I WANNA be excited about it. I've been a huge Kinda. Mary supporter all along. I think this is perfect for him at. This is exactly the type of trade that I love to see from a young franchise. That's really trying to you know build around their rookie quarterback while they've got obviously not a rookie anymore but on a rookie contract and I think that this is. This is like the perfect. Move some really excited to see how hands off them and ultimately I think that from a target perspective he's probably lead to you know. Be in the top five targets in the NFL. Hopefully that translates dependency. Yeah it's hard. It's hard to find a downside. Honestly like I know. I know we will feel optimistic about it. We both love players in the deal. We both love both these guys and it's hard to light. It's hard to rain on it right like I tried to. Sometimes come at things like either devil's advocate or like trying to find a negative but it's like hard to pick this apart like it's hard to find something bad to like pull out of this. You know what I mean like. There's nothing really stopping him and the cardinals from being great together. So I'm with you might be angry too. Yeah you might be angry. Man is aided. Yeah from Shawn Watson to which. I'm sure the boys man like they look like they had a good relationship. They didn't look like they like didn't get along or whatever so often flying out off the fly. Also want to ask you since you mentioned Shawn Watson. How do you feel about a Willfuller? And stills of all he he he he doesn't play. Do you think this means there had to be dropped in a wide receiver or something or there has been no actually. I don't think this means that. They think that they are going to run the football three hundred times the next year and that our next topic is going to touch you. Just roll right into WHOA. Yes let's roll into it David Johnson will revive his career in Houston and finished the top. Fifteen running back He didn't finish anywhere near that last year. Obviously I discussed earlier in the podcast. He ran into some injury issues. And then some issues which to me were. The cardinals did not WanNa play David Johnson anymore. I know you and Josh Disagreement last season at one point you're like no. It's strictly injuries as why he's not playing. I disagreed. I feel like there was something there that they do not. WanNa play him. I feel like them trade him. Kinda just confirmed that even more and in this case you're right thank you I appreciate. It doesn't happen very often that you guys saying I'm right or doing other things often right. Oh see this is what I'm talking about. This is where we have problems out this. Anyway I was right and this is a chance for David Johnson to redeem himself. Like you said the hard part about judging the Texan side of this trait is how do we value David? Johnson right this he this broken running back who no longer can be like. He was at one point the best running back in football player. One of the top three. However you want to look at it Can he do that again or can you? Not so I'm not even asking him to be top. Three top five top ten. I'm asking you Adam. Do you trust him to be top. Fifteen with what you just told me about how. This team is in a running offense. I do..
NFL blockbuster: DeAndre Hopkins reportedly traded to Cardinals
"There's still something to talk about and look forward to in sports thanks to the NFL and boy is there been a lot of news today starting with the cardinals Texans blockbuster deal with Houston sending Pro Bowl receiver the Andre Hopkins to Arizona along with a fourth round pick in return the Texans acquire running back David Johnson a second round pick this year in the fourth round the

Report: Texans trade DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona, receive David Johnson in return
"Rich the cardinals and Texans okay let me guess okay bill o'brien making a move so you got to think outside the box okay involves who involves which channels the running back position aso Kenyan Drake is a former free agent so we can inject a transition tag I know that right so what country all we know is David Johnson of the cardinals going to Houston when Houston okay so can you stand for David Johnson goes to Houston because I mean I think Carlos Hyde was just a one year deal I think
