"Meteorologist dean devore. I am from Fremont county Iowa and much of my home county is under water right now. What's the story for the midwest continue to see the runoff flooding from all of winter that happened? And then we've been adding at least a couple of weeks ago. We added a bunch of rain on top of that. The good news is it's been fairly dry in the woods over the last week or so Evan, but we do have some showers and thunderstorms that are gonna go over top of some of that flooding parts of Nebraska and Iowa Missouri here as we go through the next couple of days. And so we'll have to keep an eye on that the Missouri river basin certainly been very problematic, and that's certainly gone into the Mississippi River basin those areas, we'll see some rises here. And we'll have to see if there's. A couple of more systems to come in the next couple of weeks. This is going to be a long duration event in terms of the flooding out in the midwest. After all the winter that we had some quick looks around the rest of the country. We've got some storminess coming into the Pacific coast today with some rain showers in California, some higher elevation snows above about five thousand feet and then nice mild weather in the middle of the country sixties and seventies Omaha. Rapid city Denver still chilling in the east the moon is out this morning, and it's chasing Jupiter there. In conjunction. You're gonna see that pretty brightly. Here's you start the morning, and it'll be cold today, but it will warm up in the northeast and the mid Atlantic here as we get towards the weekend. Some of the warmer temperatures we've seen so far this season. Those are then things Evan that. We're looking at here this morning on AccuWeather dot com, or thank you dean, you say, Missouri. "Sixteen past the hour on first light is joined by meteorologist dean devore who always sounds great to dean once again, it's like book ends really really cold in the east and really really wet in the west. I mean, this is a brutal cold in the east for the early part of March. I mean, we're talking about real feel temperatures today twenties and teens and single digits in its no rate way to run early March is it, Michael. So that's the MO. This is probably in the northeast in the Great Lakes, probably one of the coldest feeling days in this outbreak of bitter air things are going to start to relax a little bit in those areas as we get towards the weekend. But it's incredible the cold and the chill and what's equally incredible parade Parada storms. It just continues to batter the west. This storm is centered a little bit farther north the. Area of low pressure is coming into southern Oregon. So that means rain up to Seattle a wintry mix and snow inland areas. Washington and Oregon lottery in in southern Oregon, and then California's rainy all the way down to San Francisco this one this storm and this one in the one late week doesn't extend as far south in the south Linden basin of LA, but certainly central and northern California and the Pacific northwest. You're going to get hit again later in the week with another storm. So we'll be talking about mudslides soon. We're we're already been talking about mudslides, lots of flooding and on you know, we're piling up the snow in the Sierra. It's great for the skiers is gonna be a long spring ski season. But at some point that has to melt and come down to the valley floors, and that'll be something we'll watch. Here's we get into spring layer Punxsutawney, Phil the groundhog is in witness protection. Good morning again dean devore good morning, and hitting you know, coming you made this morning in the last hour to hardly knew that we had all those problems very early on with the snow and the rain it's out of here. We got some sunshine. We'll be pretty typical for temperatures for a little bit today here in the mid thirty s for the high around the city and coastal areas staying in the twenty s inland, but Jeff it is gonna change rapidly. Once this front approaches later this afternoon into the early evening that polar plunge will. Will be preceded by some very heavy snow showers and squalls those areas to get these looks like it just about every area are listening area. We'll get them. We'll see maybe a quick coating to an inch in the matter of minutes. Poor visibility. You know, how that goes? With those heavy whiteout, conditions and snow showers and slippery conditions and in behind that is going to plunge temperature wise into the below zero range inland areas. Single digits in the coastal areas in the city and real feel temperatures twenty thirty even some forty below real feels overnight temperatures tomorrow not too good in a single digits and teens, and we're seeing real feels expected to be twenty to thirty below at their worst. And then the cold relaxes into the weekend. That's the good news. And we got a rainstorm looks like early next week. But what a blast coming be ready? "Believe meteorologist dean devore's with us now with more winter storms and a divorce casting today. They've got a parade of storms that we've been talking about here this week coming into the Pacific coast really centered from Los Angeles up through San Francisco to heaviest rain inland. Snows there to that rain will extend up into parts of Oregon and southern Washington state. And this is just the first of many pulses of storms that are gonna come in. When it's all said and done this week. We could see as much as seven inches of snow up in some of the higher elevations in much as fifteen inches of rain in some areas. So watch for flash flooding, mudslides, Wendy spells high surf along the west coast now those storms continue to trek into to the center of the country in the east. We've got two systems in the northeast and that we're watching that one. We'll start Thursday. Into Friday that one could cause some slippery problems, especially inland areas. And then we've got the major winter storm that could hit places like Saint Louis again as we get into Thursday into Friday and then swinging into the northeast Friday into Saturday and Sunday and folks along the eastern seaboard, especially that I ninety five corridor inland really have to be on the look here down to AccuWeather dot com and all your AccuWeather informational portal's here, including your apps. Michael looks like a real mess in the northeast and inland. Areas of the Great Lakes and mid Atlantic to our. Yeah. How far south do you think that'll go this one looks a little warmer to the south so places like DC may escape the bulk of the snow more rain, but could mix especially in. It's gonna get so cold behind the storm later Sunday into Monday. So there may be some snow in the backside still too early to determine the exact track of the storm will keep you up to date on Accu weather dot com. All right. "Dean devore and dean is that old man winter I see cast old man winter took a little vacation in the Great Lakes and the northeast over the holidays. In fact, we had more winter in fall in some of those places Michael than we've had since winter began back on December twenty first in fact, a lot of those areas have been about eight nine degrees above average, but old man winter is coming back and it's coming back with a vengeance. Lot of wind and colder. Temperatures turn to drive into the Great Lakes. We're gonna see lake effect snow problems over the next couple of days a little system departing northern New England with some snow and ice from Maine and interior parts. Of New Hampshire in Vermont today. Don't think that's a problem. Just wind is going to be an issue in Boston. Maybe a little icy spots this morning wind also an issue along the New York City Philadelphia corridor, so we could have some travel delays because of getting more spacing between those planes in those major airports along the eastern seaboard. And then we're also watching another another system coming onto the Pacific northwest with rain and some inland. Snows very windy again along the coast Seattle had a record wind gust a couple of days ago and. Sixty miles per hour, and they could be in that range again today. So those are the issues for today as we head towards the end of the weekend the weekend. A storm is brewing in the middle of the country. It's going to start with some snow in the planes, and it looks like a good shot at snow now in the mid Atlantic and northeast, maybe New York City right on the line of getting something impactful Saturday into Saturday night.
