A Look at Postpartum in the Bible
"Oldest record of postpartum instructions can be found in the old testament. Of course okay. So on leviticus. Twelve five which rate twelve five discussion already as a biblical scholar cracked rachel a biblical biblical assessment name. You do She must not touch anything sacred or go into a sanctuary until the days of her purification or complete because women are unclean after giving birth. Okay to mention children. The lord's children. I mean it's a good thing that women are pushed into doing right and then also then are also coming on. Babies were born like not consensually many and then once they are born now. You're like some dirty unclean. He them so offer. Rest if you had a son you would get thirty three to forty days. Okay and a daughter would give you sixty six to eighty days because the manar leslie yes. Inherently the original sin like from the bible. Yes from eve the whole yes. Women are just inherently cling from birth. There's nothing you could do get it like you're just born a woman you're born as a biblical scholar of us are born sinners right. Yes that's part of it. I i did take a world history. Colonised that i showed up to bolt right western religion. Yes we are. All born centers So back to my biblical scholar nece the postpartum depicted in the bible. Had new more bleeding at than did with resting. Okay back to the sin so it didn't really matter that you were healing. You just gave per day jim. Fuck like when you're done being dirty. He them disgusting anger women harm. You can come back okay. Carrie good moving to any ancient egypt. K new mothers were advised to have their backs rubbed. Great with oil sounds great in which a nile perch had been sued. You want they wanted to increase increase airflow milk. It's not how you do at bam smelly fish. You just get dirty old dead fish dirty old oil studio s can you imagine so Eating a mouse was thought to cure a number of ills and it was not the extent mother. Eight the mouse. She could pass along those cures through her milk. No passing the hantavirus through your milk or other Diseases of Yeah the roads are disgusting. Disease carriers yes so okay. Menstrual blood was another potent medicine and it was rebuilding infant to drive away any demons that might wish to hundred child. I mean so you just put your one station blood. I'm but like okay. So but yeah. Like i don't know if there's a distinction between measure blood in postpartum bleeding right like who different actions yet not that they would necessarily understanding. No i guess they just thought Baby on your period. Just blow up coming for coming out. Yeah you're not talking disagree about like shedding your lining with ovulation alerts as being a you being a Open wound inside of your body. Yes yep so. Ancient greece and the birth was followed by a period of rest lasting roughly forty days from other child which the forty day thing comes up over and over and over and over again. It's crazy to me i'm attempts. I read the theory days. And i don't know why i don't know if it's just like a nice number i'm guessing it hasn't been new six week postpartum thing which we also subscribe to now like when you go get your first offers visit. Yeah postpartum is it must. I guess there's an again. I was actually going to ask you that too because i was like when is how many visits like win is the first time now d- touchdown with a doctor after you give birth and i was released weeks weeks. It's horrifying come your every two seconds then buy post-partum dangerous tyner or person like a recovering because there's just so many things that can go wrong because you go to your pediatrician. A Conversation About Section 230 and the Future of the Internet
"Week. Senior reporter addie robertson. Who have heard on the broadcast many times before held an event about section two thirty. That's the law that says platforms aren't liable for their users publish. It is a critical lot. The internet also just turned twenty five years old last month. So addy held an event with a keynote by senator. Amy klobuchar democrat from minnesota is one of the sponsors of the tech act. That's an act that would reform section to thirty as well as a panel featuring michael chia. Who's the general counsel video sedan. Harry is a researcher writer. And a strategist human attack and amana keeping general counsel at wicca media which runs wikipedia. Talking about where section two thirty is where might go in the future. So we're going to run some highlights of that event for today addie and russell are gonna join talk about how it went and what they heard what they thought and as it happens here right now. Russell has done good. Love it addie. Congratulations on your event. It was a good one. Hey thank you so. Tell me how you think. The event went. And then i'm going to hand over the episode to you and we can listen to some highlights and talk it through. But how do you think of went. I thought it went well. One of the things i like about. Section two thirty is that. It's just a really weird conversation that people kept asking okay. What sides her can there are like fifty different sides and we had a really pretty interesting spread of perspectives and senator klobuchar speech was really good scene. Setter and i'm overall pretty happy. Yeah you know. What i thought was really interesting. Just as i watched the whole event senator klobuchar has some very strong perspectives. About what can be done in those perspectives. We're definitely not shared by the entire panel. In fact the safe tech act is it's it's always interesting to me to hear. Senators talked about their own legislation. 'cause they always make it seem so common sense but it's actually quite controversial. Some of the changes that she was proposing. Oh yeah absolutely well and also like you know. She addition to talk to thirty. She takes a pretty hard line on antitrust. I was actually surprised by how sort of enthusiastic she was about it. And i sort of imagine. The video guy is sitting there easter like. She's talking about breaking up google. He's like yeah. Okay a lot of the sort of civil society tech people which this is part of what we wanted to introduce the conversation like. They don't have a problem with antitrust. They are mostly hoping that section two thirty doesn't get changed in a way that makes it impossible to have wikipedia exist and then bringing up things like misinformation also just throws its own kind wrench into things because that's actually not largely problem that addressed with section two thirty and so you end up slipping weird stuff like first amendment reforming there. Yeah this was. I think is the panel went on the combination of we think facebook too big but if we changed to thirty to punish facebook we might end up punishing ourselves and then senator klobuchar talking about an inch. Just dead ahead. And even to some extent bringing up the idea of breakup as a potential remedy. All of that is a swirl and we've been talking on swirl for for some time and it was just really interesting to hear the spread of perspectives during this event. So at russell. I'm excited for this. Why don't you start and take us through this event and what we heard. Yeah absolutely. I think the one thing i want to start with this sort of like the chronological beginning. But like you know. I always like it when these things make a little news. And i think i was very interested to hear santa club. Stars line on antitrust. She sort of coming to the fore of like the democrats antitrust policy. She wrote a book called antitrust and is the chairman of the subcommittee on competition policy antitrust and consumer rights which is basically the senate home for antitrust policy so she's really sort of at the forefront of it and i thought it was interesting she a lot of time she gets gloucestershire's like this moderate voice but she was pretty harsh on facebook. Here we have. We have this clip at the root of this problem lies the ability of a few companies to act as gatekeepers and as we see when they dominate markets exclude rivals buy out their competitors. We've got a problem. In the emailed words of mark zuckerberg. These businesses are nascent but the networks established. The brands already meaningful. And if big go to a large scale could be very disruptive to us they could be very disruptive to us. I always about the tech industry was about disruption it's about disrupting the status quo and bringing in new good ideas that basically blow up the marketplace in a positive way we can't have monopoly stopping disruption so in a way the work i am doing is simply a reply to that email so the interesting thing so this was this was something that we had on the site like dual casey and nikolai byline. When the antitrust hearing happened he's talking about instagram and path so instagram they bought path proved not to be disruptive to facebook. I think it's fair to say but this is not a public statement. He meant to make. And i do think i don't know i mean do do we do. We hear this. And think like amy kluber. Shar is on team break-up facebook it feels like it will qualify that by saying at the very least it's team don't let facebook acquire anybody else. Yeah but team break-up facebook. I don't know it definitely seems like it's on the table ray. Which is very interesting so there have been on the left. A lot of really aggressive sort of pushes for stronger antitrust like we need some new like we need to empower the justice department. We need some new legislation that will enable us to kind of go after these businesses more heavily. And it's fairly recent that closure is trying to to kind of lead that i mean she just. She's only now coming to the to the lead on this committee. And i think because she ran in the democratic primary sort of as a moderate voice. She's been glossed as like. Well she's not in the end gonna like usher in this new era of trust busting but then elsewhere in the keynote. She's talking about well. You know it worked pretty well when we did this against. At and i mean. I don't know. I'm still kind of undecided. It's always hard to know how committed people are going. It's going to be a really politically difficult road to walk. If they move on. you know.

"Mr Deads at himself served joins the show here and was getting a lot of it. Is it okay if we call you that we just kind of point that phrase and I'm good with that. I've heard worse, so I bet Now this is interesting because you're getting so much attention because what you're doing to save the parking spaces and the did so I'll let you describe, but I would call it a work of art, and I'm sure it's causing people to look like twice, like, have a double take. It's unbelievable. Tell us what you're doing. Well, sure, it's early more of a work of art in a practical way to save a parking space. When I was a kid, I used to occasionally hear about people freezing their pants when it got cold outside just to some regular good, clean winter fun. And really all you do is if you soak a pair of pants and set him outside for 20 minutes. You can sort of mold him into a shape and then 20 minutes later, they're frozen solid. A couple of years ago, I I froze a couple of bears and just walked around taking pictures of him for buns this year, and when we had another polar vortex coming, and I thought I would do it again, People started making dibs jokes, so I started cutting him up in parking spaces just just for the photographic opportunities, But it's been a lot of fun People see you and wave out their window and laugh out of their car windows. Pen Circle areas. There's nothing not funny about pants. That's so true. And there they look like ghost pants because the first they look like a human is in them, but only half of a human because it's only the pants. And so if you were driving by, you'd be like Whoa! What? What happened? You have three people freaking out. I don't think I really frightened anybody yet. You live up in this neighborhood. You probably got steam radiators. You're used to weird noises and strange sites around the house. All right? What neighborhood is where you get Adam. I'm in West Rogers Park. Nice. Very nice near where I grew up. It's a dibs. I would call it one of the dips capitals there in Beverly. I would say there's a lot Yeah, the part. Parking is fiercely competitive in my neighborhood of the best of times. Yeah, That's the thing. It's the you know, it's the need for it is based on the the building to find a parking spot in those areas, especially where you've got, like the apartment buildings and things like that over there. Um, not easy to come by all apartments. Really? So it's all apartments on the street. So the supply and demand of parking spaces is definitely an issue And this time of year I've never really used Davis much myself. I'm a young able bodied guy I can shovel in and out as as needed. But for people who aren't in that situation, I totally understand what you save the spot after you busted your back, shoveling it out. Yeah, You know, I'm on the side of it, too. I've shoveled a few myself and growing up. We did partake in the whole dibs thing. I know it. Mayors have been asked to weigh in. It's been a mayoral debate question. Even like whether or not the mayor's agree with the dibs or not, And I think Mayor Emanuel did not. As I recall. Mayor Lightfoot is sort of like neutral. What do you remember? Remember? I remember Rob would think stuff like Well, if you steal somebody's dibs, I wouldn't Oh, I wouldn't sell. You understand the reality of the situation. I remember it during his administration. They set up the It was a website set up by the city to go claim the stuff like your dipped up stuff that they had picked up because they didn't want your trash on the street. Then you have to go the site and find it. It was like, Oh, my God. It gets to a point where the shoveling isn't quite as much of an issue than you're just being then you just kind of being a jerk about it. Yeah. Then it just looks nasty in your neighborhood. Whole neighborhood. Looks like it doesn't look right at it doesn't It doesn't look like you're saving anything. It just looks like you're leaving your chairs outside. Yeah, I would agree, but your your pants back to the elite of its your pants. That's something amusing to walk past every day. How do you get these pants to stand straight up. They look at the genes I'm looking at here. They're standing straight up. Usually their genes. Sometimes if they're not frozen quite evenly. Um, sometimes it helps If there's some freshly packed snow the human problem up in this is so creative and thistles. Really creative air. You're gonna do a shirt Next. I heard. Is that right? I did try doing a shirt Last night. I tried I just frozen old Bart Simpson T shirt and put it on top. Then we've got like a dip Scarecrow. So how do you make them look like there's somebody you know you say you soak them in water. Obviously on then, after they've been freezing outside for about 20 minutes, they're mostly frozen but still have enough flexible. You can put on a pair of gloves and build a more or less into shape. How awesome is that? Oh, my gosh. Are you an artist? I mean, you simple arts and crafts. E wouldn't think I'm a tour guide by day. I'm I've been doing virtual towards all year. Bobby is reason that I decided that I would do a mini tour every morning. So I'm always trying to think up something new to do. Especially on days like this when I can't really travel that well to go like, show off a building or a cemetery or anything. So sometimes you've got a virtual sledding. And freezing some pants sounded like a good way to do a 15 minute presentation in the morning..

And now I'll do a shameless plug for my brother school in Paterson, New Jersey, But he runs a contracting school there and the placement rate after these kids get certified. I should say kids, you know these young adults get certified to do contracting jobs is something like 96% because there's such a demand for those types of work workers yet it's not. It's a fraction of what you were getting college. So you're getting the high paid job when you get out without paying that much. I I hope those sort of schools more those technical schools, especially schools. Do better on they are doing great. We're talking to Carol Roth. Carol, what scares you most? And so I'm really worried about the repercussions in the effect on the average working person, the average small business in this country just really continuing to create that heaven have not not because of capitalism or free markets, but because of the government picking winners and losers. Secure. How does it How does this all end? In other words, we have all the stimulus, right? We have all these bailouts during covert and we were already driving up the dead enormously when we used to be a big deal for Republicans, right that we have to pay down the debt and this is out of control. And at some point the bill comes due does but the bill never seems to come Do is the bill gonna come do at some point? I mean, it has two main basic economics tells you that it has done you can look at a country like Venezuela that you know several decades ago was the fifth wealthiest country in the entire world, and now the median income in Venezuela is zero. Wow. Zero. You know that? That is 10 fairytales zero that Matt, This is not a hyperbole. You can go look up the statistic. The median wealth in Venezuela to day is zero. You got to say, like Dean Wormer. Those 0.0. Yes, it has a lot better effect speaking, the fact that the Roth effect is the podcast. We're talking to Carol Roth. Um You know, from an economic perspective, we see somebody different things being tossed out as far as what Democrats want to do in terms of transforming the country. But it seems like the green new deal is one that I really, really have a problem with it. And here's why. If you don't get Russia, China and India in line because, you know they're the three biggest polluters, then everything we spend here will be probably the biggest waste of money we've ever had. Because at last check if you don't stop the three biggest polluters, we could be its cleaners. We like that pollution will make its way over here anyway. So that that's what is never bought up in the media is the fact that you know China is what we have to control. And obviously, Joe Biden is not gonna want any part of that. You know, it is so absurd. We all share the same planet. We all share the same atmosphere. If climate control is an important concern. There are a couple things that you should consider And like you said, it should be the biggest polluters. We're actually doing a great job here in America and Reducing the level of pollution and then the other piece of that so obviously have to control like you said Russia, China and India. The other piece that if if you will really serious about it, then you'd be having a huge push toward nuclear energy, which is the cleanest energy and in most efficient out there is certainly we have many of the capabilities, but that scares everybody because they've watched too many episodes of the Simpsons and, you know now we can't have nice things, so they were really serious about that Those two things would be a factor. This is just another power grab disguised in a oh, this is an important cause. That's just going to shift when you know they get is much that if they could get out of it and then change it on us. All right, Carol Roth. I'm gonna leave you with this final question is an important one. Okay, 90 seconds. Now what show? Had the perfect cast TV show, so we've had this is a question I asked on Twitter. I asked lots of these top color culture questions. There were so many great answers on the comedy side. Obviously. Seinfeld and the Golden Girls stood out if you go way back soap, phenomenal cast, But then you're crazy drama side, the wire The Sopranos Hill Street blues. I mean, there's Many different, amazing cast out there. And that was that was one of the great things just showed how rich of a TV culture that we have. And you know if you are bored at home right now, lots of great things you could be watching. Absolutely. And it begins ends with the Dukes of Hazzard, by the way, as far as the perfect cast any time you have a guy named Jefferson Davis Hogg, and you have a Confederate flag on the roof of that show is even allowed to be on TV anymore, which is so freaking hilarious. But anyway, actually, it's sad. Carol Roth. Thanks so much for joining us first time in the strong hand, you show with your conscience guest hosting We will have you back if I'm allowed back. Always a pleasure and again to everybody have a very healthy and safe.

"Yeah. Over Good back faction that some excellent producing right there. The rolling 14 a day average of the Corona virus thing. This is what I want. And the other thing is, she said, And there are I don't know if you've heard about this bat borne viruses that people can catch. I said, Yeah, I had heard that Get the freaking cove it from the thing. That's right. Yeah, Don't wet bat market going on your own out, right? That's right Charity. So I looked at the rolling 14 day average nationwide big number over a period of time. So here we are currently Nationwide cases are up 51%. A lot more testing going on. They always say some of the rises to do the testing. But they don't say how much. Can't you figure that out? Mathematically, because that matters. Is it 10% or 80%? I'd like to know Veil your high school stats class. But blame like that Deads are up 29%. The lagging indicator of deads deads are up 29% on the 14 day rolling average. So Still has not caught up to the You know, the the case number is horrifying. The death number is not horrifying right now, and hopefully it will stay that way. Unless you're one of them. "I get this because ah, couple people complained And I don't get to know who those people I don't know if they're routinely in a political camp. If they're activists, I've gone online and looked at what it takes to complete a complaint that divorce medical practice has to Fun. It's a one page deal. You just say what you want. You could be a huge donor for the other party, and I wouldn't get to know what I wouldn't get to know you live in my district. I don't get to know anything. You know what I what? What I hope is happening here. But I just based off of what? What? We know what I hope happen. Here was some idiot Wind decided. Soto file a complaint and the medical board is looking into it. And this will be, you know, Dismissed and moved on, you know, moved on flat is the best case, And that is the best case scenario. You know, some some Yahoo out there saw Jensen on Ingram's program or heard him on our program or just saw the video that he made and thought. I'm goingto make this guy's life more difficult and follow. Can't file a complaint. That really is the best case scenario, the worst case scenario. Is that you've got this coming from the walls administration, right? And that in and if that is the case, and we don't know that it that it is, it's just speculation at this point, If that is the case that's terrifying. Yeah, in this, and the article from the Star Tribune is not lengthy. It highlights basically what? What, what the senator laid out just there at the end of it. It says this. Jensen has expressed other controversial views in public when you go back into it, the two, he said the Fords focuses on two allegations, spreading misinformation about the death toll and providing reckless advice by comparing covert 19 with the flu on those two fronts, he was not wrong. And and and look the narrative out. There is wrong. The facts are correct. The fact of the matter is and experts across the board. Have all agreed and said as much when it comes to classifying deaths with Cove in 19 it does not matter what the person died of in the hospital. If they had Koven, 19 they're classified as covert 19. That's the way the pandemics always go on classified these deaths. The difference this time around as we've discussed, not just with Dr Jensen, but on the show is that policy is being driven by this, which makes it it makes a huge makes all the difference in the world. When you just have academia when you just have you know, epidemiologists and viral experts and doctors who are looking at the classifications particular deaths in and of itself. That's an issue between the family members of the individual the doctors to go on, classify it as that it doesn't change the dynamics when you do it in the middle of a global pandemic. We're shutting down and destroying businesses lives. Then you've got a problem with you and the medical community should be smart enough to realize this. You've got an entire nation of people on edge, watching the news every day and seeing these numbers and more numbers and more deaths and more deaths, if if If a significant percentage of those deads are ancillary to cove it if they are not directly caused by cove it then they shouldn't be in that total because they're scaring the hell out of half the country now to where they're afraid to leave their house. Perfectly healthy. People living in areas that are not experiencing outbreaks are afraid to go to the grocery store because of what they're saying on the news, not because of what's actually happening. Out in the world, but because of what they're seeing on the news, and it would be nice if health professionals like Dr Fauci and all these others would would start to understand that and start to may be present there a data and information in a way that is a little less terrifying. Jensen has expressed other controversial views on public health. According to the Star Tribune. He opposed the state mandated vaccinations for Children is hardly controversial opinion. But the reason that's hardly controversial is because of the words state mandated, right. There's a lot of people that doesn't mean that you doubt or question the efficacy of vaccines. It doesn't mean you're a quote unquote anti vax or that you believe that vaccines cause all these horrible things. It doesn't mean that it means you're opposed to state mandated. That's a very important conversation that gets way too easily Dismissed by someone going. Oh, you're just an anti vaccine. He also Drew defended the president, President Donald Trump, for taking the anti malarial drug, a drug store clerk win as a possible treatment for Cove in 19 though it has yet to be medically approved for the Corona virus. Apparently Clark one could have saved thousands and thousands of thousands of lives over these past few months if it weren't for the media, having a reflective need, jerk, orange man bad reaction. Everything. Probably the worst thing President Trump has done and his entire administration is actually get out there and speak publicly about the benefits of hydroxy Clark win and the fact that it has helped a lot of people because everybody just immediately went. Oh, it must be arsenic. And they started treating it and reporting on it. As such, and now we've got this muddled mess of information regarding this drug that every study continues to show positive results, and it tells you You know, we can give a real world example of how difficult it is and how much the meat media controls all this. Somebody on Twitter over the weekend. It was fine. I mean, I understood their point. But somebody on Twitter over the weekend was had mentioned us and our talk on this show about hydroxy Clerk win and You know something along the lines of this of us, sort of relaying the media talking point. Truth of the matter is because full circle as we found out as of as of late, new studies have come out and talked about how successful hydroxy Clara Quinn has been as individuals who look at the news every single day..

"We Mrs Lever were about the physical side of things. I'm glad you mentioned John Wick. He's made this point quite forcefully that we talk about the death taboo in Western society, there is no taboo is just about certain things that we don't want to talk about particularly like like corpses like decomposition but we think about death and talk about this all the time for surrounded by the economics of death as well. It's been a real research, so interesting is bear in design and ours as a head of resurgence of skulls and. And crossbones in a fashion item, and this has been happening for quite a while now, but we don't so much, so we barely even see them as Memento Mori remember you'll die anymore. It's just kind of goes of our heads. That aspect of it and that's why Michael Jakobsen is arguing that we're not really in an era of death. Taboo anymore were in this era. Where of spectacular deaths where is it's? It's something that we do talk about. About and that we do investigate and I think that absolutely having the debt amongst us and Moore's are socially active, present influential. Whatever you WANNA, call it. I mean active in the way that we keep encountering them and engaging with them. They're available. I think it's going to be very interesting to see how that changes. Our awareness of our own being towards death, as well being surrounded by so many digital dead that are no longer physically here. I mean that point about spectacular death is an important one, too, because a lot of the ways in which we do mediate death can have the effect of not bringing death home to you're bringing home, the horrible reality of what it is when a person is destroyed but it can actually just level death said it just becomes content so that fictional deaths and real deaths mediated through the news or anything else all. Find themselves on the same kind of level, and that can lead to things like for instance, people can see a journalist shot dead live on TV and say Oh, that's all fake. They're all this crisis actors, or whatever right so the the sense of the vague sense of unreality can pull me out a lot of this stuff I think can actually be two six, and traced back to that notion of spectacular that notion that death is become. Content to consume in some respects, and then, of course we have to name the current context. We're in as well which is the worldwide pandemic in which a much greater percentage of people who would ordinarily be dying at a particular time..

I'll have this money like the book. Why she's happy and getting all the money so I would just like? He'll get the same amount per year over the a free plus point. Probably hit unrestricted. Like twenty five because I think he was another one like the super younger derozen could opt opt out. Auto Porter has a player option Gallinari. He's unrestricted he'll get a nice contract hayward unknown but Bogdan restricted drifted. JOE's out I don't think he is either. I'm Jeremy Grant has a player option. That's what I'm really not sure. Imagine he will just because the market but I don't know. Let me just likes to winning in Denver Montreal get some money Jerry. Grant says might not WANNA move again. So he's got. The option is for nine million. I mean that's one on like just because of the circumstances and the free agency he probably should opt out even if it's day that he's having a pretty good year monitor. I think mantra. You grew up with the church music and graduated into something that was had a lot in common with Fisher and that was the blue and like where did the blues start coming in on top of you in addition to the search music probably around age fourteen twelve hours? Studying THE BOOZE. I started always been aware of different genres amusing from country. Music reggae all way around and When I heard Blues I understood. It was something that was like a parallel to Gospel. Gospel and Blues gave birth to like all of these. But people don't know that I everything come from those two in Jay is awesome and so about twelve and I. I oughta still. My Dad always played different records and stuff around the house so yeah Oh Hank Williams Tracy Chapman Bob Marley The win if I if everything everything So I was getting in touch with the way her muddy waters and through muddy waters. He kind of made an link. Go off in my mind like the connection between the two. I'm it's so interesting that you say that because like out of all the you know the genuinely old blues greats is only one. I ever got to see really live. Yeah most people when they think about the blues whom they know the names Robert Johnson may know muddy waters. But they kind of think like it's an old art for you know and then everybody every now and then somebody comes along. Who reminds them that? It Ain't dead a bit. That is a living thing like you know Tim. Duffy who founded the Music Makers Relief Foundation? He said something to me like you know. He started that whole foundation after he went on this. Search to find this gator player that very few people had heard of but was allegedly like a wizard named guitar. Gabriel in North Carolina her. Well when tim found him he said Gabe told me that the blues is a spirit. It never dies. How how do you feel that spirit? I started looking at the history of blue specifically in Georgia so a lot of people look over Georgia impact on blue but the reason that a lot of people don't talk about is because a lot of the blue musician George had already passed before the rediscovered so in the twenties it was a big boom of Georgia. Blues Musician Columbia records recorded his first black blues musician in Atlanta guy named piglet how and then in the guy from Latvia Name Barbecue Bob Ryan Statesborough the host borough blew that all my brother got from Taj Mahal with Taj Mahal. Crow days of the American sow music was one of a very few activities that allowed our African American brothers and sisters the chance to feel freedom bessie genre. The Blues was her people's Music and the music that came the following morning in the church. Gospel was there to run away. He must have been and the drink houses. Maybe even wound up doing a little of that good thing and on Sunday mornings in the chargers reserved for them. They could sing songs of praise to God. Plant Arkansas Bessie Smith and sister. Tharp who were respectively. The Mothers of Blues Gospel are in many ways. Deregulation because I've been hooked on fucking Tom Clancy's, Jack Ryan on Amazon Lenny seeing this is told me it was also watch great. I have I just gotta make maybe I'll watch little bit of it. I I wasn't like I didn't know if I could buy John Kristen ski as the not the office guy. But he does work you kind of forget that he's the office guy. And if you like twenty four if you like homeland this fucking shows, great, I got to episodes left, and it's deals with the, you know, the main tag is like an Assam bin Laden type character takes place modern time, they show you everything he went through and how this guy became to be this character these characters are so nuanced flawed the Slavic stuff that's in here is done accurately. It's done respectfully Christine skis. Great. It's really fucking good to even the guys who pilot the drone cameras and kill people from a distance. There's a whole side plot that deals with how this deal. I was really impressed. Really well done. There's only eight episodes. I think I got two left on Amazon prime. I'm gonna watch it. I didn't think I the first half of the first episode was a little slow. But by the end of the first episode, your bucket hug, and you're like, let's go keep an it's it's so it's really well well written, and then one thing I posted on the group, which I don't know how long is it gonna be YouTube? "Yes, this is actually what it's like. Lots, lots of very bad dancing, all they need people on the side saying, yeah, I'm putting in applications trying to go. Nintendo. Here's the story on the Sega thing. It's not supposed to be a Sega sponsored Ray, oh, it isn't. They thought it would be a funny Easter egg if they just had a Sega banner somewhere in the corner of the frame, the corner. Giant banded at stretches across the writer takes the banner from Sega and gives it to the prompt measures. Listen, just put this out of the way somewhere where it's not going to be too visible the prop master misinterprets this as we need to get it in the film somehow. So he thought he was doing a favor. Rave so that every shock rave, the big Sega banner in it. By the time the producer saw it was literally too late to cut it down and still shoot the rain. Again, it makes very, very bad. Let's hostess when an island finished no, for killing people. This is the rave end of the year. It's like some solo cups and like DJ biff naked. It was dead before the ambi- arrive. Yeah. This movie came out in three. Their last console system was cancelled in a one. So this is about what say, could afford. Yeah, exactly. But slowly they have a few teases of guests that get killed. They know that they need to keep us interested by punctuating it with death. He's in the idea. I mean, if you didn't play the game and he only heard the title u. n. no, what's waiting for them? You wouldn't necessarily even know that there's on bees. You definitely don't know these early because they cut away so fast. Who would watch this movie though, and not? No, I think you've gotta take it as a given that if you don't know the game and apparently from that last line of my last name is Curie and they're spanking you to know the game intimately, but you've seen a trailer, it's of the dead blank of the dead, their records Romero, you know, it's ambi-, but that makes it really confusing why they're going to. Rip off jaws. My memory was we see this guy following this chick to the beach, and you know, he won't get in because it makes his heart on shrink and she does the topless stuff. And yet I guess it's kind of jaws. Everything's kind of like something you liked once. My memory was he goes and takes us swig of beer. That's just lying there like all those on as we're like these ravers that had drunk contaminated liquor that the beer was the thing that turned them into the Zone B. I believe that was rave to the grave wasn't. Yeah, but I couldn't remember where I was getting that, but for half this movie, I'm like, see, he's drinking the beer. He's gonna turn into zone. Yeah, they put the liquid extract into the pills that you know the drug, the drug tournament of design. Yes, rave to the grave, what we get, here's actually just a clever misdirection then because while we're thinking that it's going to be the topless girl in the water who seems to be getting pulled under, but never really panics. She comes back to the beach to find her boyfriend missing and this actress. You guys are just referred tours, topless actress, their first of all. Her name's Johanna is the character, but the actress, she's billed as Erica Parker. She changed her name after this movie became known as Erica. Durant's ended up starring for several seasons on smallville as Lois lane. Oh, her, okay. Yeah. You mentioned her before. This is an early room. Yeah, she was in smallville. She's currently on supergirl on TV because they're referencing everything that ever had man connection, but yet this was like her first movie role. Yeah, I love that. She goes looking for him. Walk into the trees goes, oh, I'm lost. And then find the house of the day. They have actually constructed vaguely looks cool. I just think it's like an empty sex. It's like a functional house, but there it is. This is the house that Custodio built, and she goes in there and watches her boyfriend punctured by zombie. I guess it's an alien joke that is AVI sticks his hand through her stomach and looks like it's popping out. Okay, this is where I'm going to have to invoke zombie rules once again for some reason in this scene in no other seen the psalm eyes are glowing red here..
