A highlight from Will You Ever Comply With Mask Mandates Again?

Home to the greatest collection of conservative voices like Dennis Prager, Jay Sekulow, Mike Gallagher, and more. Salem News Channel is unfiltered and unapologetic. Watch anytime on any screen at snc .tv and local now channel 525. Joe Biden's like that grandpa that you love. Would you give this grandpa a high -stress job for six more years? Liberal ideas are amazing and they're beautiful. As long as you never do them, they were actually impossible. When they were implemented, you have misery. They're demolishing the election. The deep state, the fourth branch of government, doesn't want the people to be able to have the voice. Now from the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike Gallagher. JD Vance, the senator from Ohio, came so close in trying to stop the government from forcing masks on Americans. But don't worry, the Democrats blocked it. Massachusetts pride and joy, Senator Ed Markey shut it down. JD Vance was trying to advance a bill that would prevent the federal government from imposing mask mandates in places like, you know, airline, the airline industry or trains or buses. They're going to bring it back and they're going to bring it back because they want to impact the outcome of the election in 2024. And we can talk about not complying. I got a lot of response yesterday to my question, are you going to comply or not when they start forcing and imposing mask mandates? You know, let me give you a pragmatic example. I have to travel a lot for my job. What am I going to do, take a bus? I mean, I'm taking a train Monday for our big event Monday night in Philadelphia, but I can't exactly take a train from Tampa to Los Angeles. I got some challenges here. You think I want to get on another airplane and wear a mask? What do you do? What if you go to what if you have to go to work on the bus and the and the local transit authority makes you wear a mask to get on the bus? What are you going to do when you go to work and your office says you got to wear a mask to walk into the building? I don't know why I keep having this flashback to this screaming match I got into with somebody at my at my office in Florida when somebody said you got to wear a mask to walk, you know, 30 steps from your car to through the empty building into your empty studio. I said, this is insane. You better do it or we're not going to allow you in the building. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed at the time. And the consensus, not that I'm any big deal, I'm not trying to brag here, but the consensus was if Mike doesn't wear a mask, we're not going to wear him wear a mask. But see, I'm in an unusual position. I'm in an unusual place. I'm fortunate and privileged to be in a position where I kind of get to do that. Although I suppose if my company really wanted to be hardcore about it, they could have said, Mike, you want to lose your job over this? OK, but nice knowing you. And listen to the way the Democrats brag about it. Listen to the way the Democrats are so they love they want these mask mandates so badly. This was something called the Freedom to Breathe Act, which would have prohibited any federal mask mandate from being imposed on an airplane, a public transit system or school. J .D. Vance introduced it on Wednesday. Democrat Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts intervened and he shut it down. Here he was. This is, I believe, from the floor of the Senate, if I'm not mistaken. But this is audio and video from C -SPAN, where Ed Markey proudly shut down the Freedom to Breathe Act. It would silence and hamstring public health experts who have guided our nation out of the one hundred and thirty nine thousand people in our country in three years. Well, where's your mask, dummy? Why are you standing there without your mask on since you worship at the altar of the mask? Incidentally, if you're watching that video clip on Salem News Channel, there's some dingbat sitting behind him with a mask on. You see that? I don't know who she is. She's got a nice big black mask on. Look at me. I got my mask on. I'm not going to give or get covid. I mean, these people are just clowns. I saw one this morning. Driving into work. On a bike. Pedaling with all the prerequisite bike stuff that bicyclists, you know, the spandex and the helmet and everything. And the and the the, you know, Tour de France get up guy had as he was ready to go. And he had his mask on. Nothing's going to happen to him. He ain't going to get covid. He's got his mask on while pedaling down the West Side Highway in New York City outside with nobody around. Man's wearing a mask. So I don't know. I mean, I hate all these flashbacks. I was talking to my producer, Derek, about it earlier. And he said, you know, I'm you flashback to all the covid memes. One that one of the memes that Derek loved said, I'm more afraid of a Democrat in the White House than I am covid. I'd second that. But what do we do? Where do we go? I'm serious. I want to ask you an honest to gosh question. What are you going to do? If your company, if your local transit system, if your kids school tries to impose a mask mandate, let's flood our Ph .D. weight loss and nutrition phone lines with your phone calls. Eight hundred six five five. Mike, this is Friday. This hour. I want to I want packed lines. It's always a bit of a challenge this time on Friday every week to get people revved up. And back into the swing of things. So let's go. I just want you to give me your pragmatic answer. What do you do if you're confronted with a mask mandate? Because I need you to prepare yourself. It's probably coming. And it's coming because not because of any pragmatic, scientific approach. They want to scare you because they want to change the election rules again in time for 2024. That's what's happened. I'm convinced of that completely. So what do we do about it? Give me some answers. I got the smartest audience in America ready to go. One eight hundred six five five. It's a business there and then but that well part of the thing and all the area where we are i was actually totally changed by the defied. That bella dead so the virgin. I'm gene the terrain and it's it's like a logger. Actually it's this is a really good everyday just slam it down early. Four five you know in the afternoon before you really get serious for or five bottles are four five. O'clock i'm going for the hombre. Triple and it's it's very sweet. It's quite dark and tragically and sweet but delicious really delicious. I went for the blunt trauma. I mean i. I had one before you arrived actually guys and look at that well as you say that the other this very blurred as well. So it's because it's both the bid sweets meiteis basilio very tasty goodstuff. You can tell him the real deal like it. So listen fellas. M second might say day with a win for today poca jar. There's no question all night that he will win the tour de france and have the french had a good tour de france. Francois i mean juvenile fleet one stage one. Am david go do they today. And yesterday overall have they have a good tour. I think the answer is yes. Actually a as autism eighth as it may seem if because in terms of stage wins it. It's not as good as it was last year when we had nas. Peter is winning the sage. Most stage wins. But if you look at the the dc It's better than it was last last september is. He's always stringency last year when i was last year. But if you look the results d'amato s again is moving on you know he was twelfth. Two years ago eleventh's last year is now eighth also is is is getting there. I mean we're getting probably to maybe five one is probably not You know a guy in a position to win the tour but at least you know is is progressing. The go do. I mean it was as as i said yet it a bad day on the phone to Coast goes in a lot of losing. Lots of time knows about half an hour that they is still eleventh. Overall he was on the attack yesterday was in the attack today proves as proven. Nora's welterweight instant winning stages that is is the is not far from from from this guy's so and we've got already of the The With now kind of teammate of bannock van auken o'connor For editor sit when was fifteenth. So three guys in the top twenty is the same reason as last year on the limited better while and if you take into account the fact that tibo. Pianos injured homebuilders not doing the tour. The little disappointment might come from giuliana. Philippe experimental more of him Specialty in the first week but problem with junior veep. And it's going to be problem now for a long time. Is the the you know the the the range of his abilities which is kind of you know the punchy stages with a with a was the heart. that's short climb in the under the finnish did. This is where he is always done. Where of is typical. Not even with flesh while on riders but in that kind of racist has not to face to renew phenomenal. Writers warred on out and mature from the pool. So in a way. Excuse me we said know. Much of unapproved grennell. Emma pull it ours is is is is kind of the national pride you know in a way in this sort of francie yellow jersey for a week by and large asset. You know it's up now to the new generation. Because the pinot baldi did an an an oldies may be even juliana kind of belong to the kind of waning generation. I think go do as bree did what it needed to do. Tax you can't comp- you know. You can really say anything by that he did. It is best pilot unfortunately attacks when it comes to his mind and not when he should be doing is like a little bit too At a no impulsive. Impulsive is ordered. Yeah and you know you would need to curb his mad dog approach to to to citing a little bit With taliban's is getting there. I think these these efforts were team is as we are discussing the nice nice plug francois. Because today's clumsier was on aged thirty years. This is effective year in the sport so today's Here was all about h. We had an interview party pant in their absolutely and they. They believed that there. There are a few signs like yvonne you at the beginning of the tourist group at my average team director told me that within three years they were expecting to have a a a a young guy of twenty one. Twenty two plane. You know a major role as jesse writer. So i don't know if you have somebody in mind. But i eat thinks that they're getting their edgy. Throws well are working on the number of good climbers for you know for juicy positions so i mean this. This is promising for for french cycling for the time being while. Let's face it with john. We haven't found yet the new new bill narino. That's for sure maybe out for thirty two years. I know i know. But i i'm going to retire. Since i guess the jinx will be.

I'll get richard to take over his case for you to be back home but at school all we can try right well. Let's let's crack on these. I've been too quick tyson. that's lovely.

"From lionel. Hello everyone this. Is lauren darling in from not under welcome mitch. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts over the final week of the tour now on just putting in here because we frequently get questions about. The tour de france is carbon footprint and the impact on the environment and last year. I made an episode of kilometers era about this very subject and in the process of researching and speaking to climb experts. I realized that there are two sides to the equation. One is cycling's impact on the environment and the other is the environment likely future impact on a sport like cycling as temperatures. Roy's now i've been doing some research into what's cold wet bulb temperatures and this is pretty steep learning curve for me up in reading about and talking to people. It's basically an expression of both temperature and humidity and a wet bulb temperature of about thirty. Two degrees celsius is the point at which outdoor activity becomes impossible. Because the body simply can't cool down either by sweating or sheltering in the shade. And we're still a long way off that at the moment but the trend is upwards and wet bulb. Temperatures are likely to become something that impact on a sport like cycling in the future. But more on that another time. We have had some questions emailed in and this one by peter. Burgess is typical of the questions we get asked. He wants to know about the tools carbon footprint whether there are any initiatives to reduce the number of vehicles traveling with the rice. Now i think people look at the size of the twitter front comb. Boy one do bikes and cars need to be there. And while i obviously all have a role to play i suppose the ones that you could look at the vip 'cause you could look at those and think wow do they have to be Clogging up the convoy. But then they're part off the tour de france and its commercial model. I thought i would someone from skoda. The company which supplies all of the official cars to the tour de france and also lent us are very splendid cycling podcast which is a hybrid model. Skhoder has the official tour supply since two thousand and four and this year the fleet numbers around two hundred fifty cars from the ones that kylie race director christian prudhomme and the voice of radio tourists that. Pk down to those vip costs at tuck. Give the the the sponsors and various other people A close up view of the bunch. Now i didn't actually realize skoda started life in czechoslovakia a bicycle manufacturer in eighteen ninety five and they didn't make that i call and tell a decade later..

"I think this is the institution most learn a new I think it's the case in italy and spain as well I'm afraid that there isn't such a such a radio in in in english because just because the tradition of radio broadcasts in in in britain than in english speaking countries is different. I totally agree. This is something that i've been thinking about for years because already the exact same thing with cricket back in australia. Abc grandstand on. And i'll listen to ball-by-ball boxing day test and the straddling test series. And i'm thinking. When i'm wearing these races i would love to put the headphones on and listen to the rice and one i do now with j. c. n. Is i just put it in. And listen to the tv commentary but the problem is with tv country. You don't have to paint the pizza. And that's the bruins of radio. Is that when you listen to cricket a painting the picture they painted running in from the southern end and they're talking about the crowd and with suckling. You can do that. You can paint the picture of the climb. The switch backs the crowd. And i think there is a there is a. There's an opportunity there and the history of the tourist been made by radio. I mean the fact that the tourists become so huge. France was because the people i mean. My father was nine ninety nine. They would listen to the tour on the radio. There was the only link with the tour and the newspapers at a time. Issue two editions a day about the tour de france and so they were all waiting. You know. my father tells me that the they didn't have they didn't ever raid all of them so they went to the guy with the radio and they were. They were all sitting in front of radio. Listening to the tour de france and then they went to the bakers or whoever the grocers with a you know a blackboard with the name of the writers and the times and everything that's the way they lived and loved the tour and as you said msci poetry. Because you couldn't see anything. It was all imagination in for these kids that they heard about this name. Names new bobby cookie or even before that. My my father's ida was picture. One thousand nine hundred ninety six and but they had no idea what what the idea was. The guy looked like the pictures in the newspaper the next day but never so them rising in in in real life yet. My is my sense of of the tour de france and the radio forming of oral backdrop to life in france was my first exposure to this was a film the vanishing by the film of the tim. Crabby novel featured. Tim crabby last fantastic cycling and called the writer and he wrote a psychological thriller called the golden egg and it was a film it was made into film in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight am called vanishing and in the original non hollywood version. This plays i across france. I believe in all all you can hear is the to france being being talked about on radio and petrol stations. And so on. And it's i don't know why i it. But it's the most powerful noise you hear some highland a form of backdrop to the film but also your senses of forming the backdrop to life in france and time. Go and check out film. He wants to be absolutely terrified..

"We walked to the middle. You got to walk back out. Stop with this decree shit. I need your friends in the bunch. It never know when they can really help you out. Yeah well didn't help him did today. he needs more friends. Yeah he needs a friend to teach them how to go. Downhill maybe probably or or be most at the top of the mountain be most. He must be able to decently but it just probably wasn't paying attention and who knows what happened but to come off the back right over. The top of the climb is unacceptable. It would be fun livestream. Because i'm glad you remembered to bring that up on the show but it would be amazing if you could watch this shit happen real time because this is exactly. Why is he doing that. George like maybe they're friends. And i was like i'm such an asshole. So people do have friends i probably. I probably shouldn't even say yawn said so. My old friend theory is probably totally off because guitar was in the top ten also so he had a clear not friends both needed to get back their position. I liked the friend angled. Oh you know it still happens in the bunch of bunch couple of good comments and questions today. This one's great. Not sure if this has been discussed before but wanted to see if there's an official and accepted form of greeting other we do community and passing. If they're rocking we do merch. When i was in boulevard at a segment challenge. I passed other writers rocking gear and saw folks out and about and pondered how to simply acknowledge. A mutual connection without going overboard schools have battle-cries like war eagle. Hook them or roll tide. What can be our. We do greedy. We don't have one. But i just thought of one because the origins of we do really were from there was always a lead into it and it was you. Can you can make it anything but here it is. This is what we do. And i'm just making this shit up right now but soon as you see somebody usa in if you feel like you're going to get the first word and you say who does and that other person we who do. Who does we other person we do now and if they say who does you then you say we do. So it's who does we do. Damn that is just sometimes. I surprised myself. That's from jimmy and charlotte hope for. Hopefully he got how about that aboard in the segment right. How about the belgian fan who emailed in an ass. He said i'm looking everywhere. I can't obviously. English is in his first language. He's like i can't find a translation for gysi. This is true. He's like i don't find it in the dictionary here. Not there's no translation it's have. We had any moves in the segment as today or yesterday. Negative bringing folks got a few more days better. Get out there. here's a really great email. From brian's i've got a big social media confession to make. I hope it doesn't get me in trouble. Oh boy and nineteen ninety-six. I was a bellman in atlanta georgia. Nbc and lance armstrong were exclusive guests at the renaissance hotel. I didn't even know who lance armstrong was at the time but he handed me his bike. I issued mclane ticket. And when he left. I wrote his bike. Don't judge me. i was very young and careless. But i actually can say that. I rode lance armstrong's bicycle. That's amazing reminds me affairs. Buehler's day off. They take that for spin. If i could if i could remember that far back maybe. The shifting was a little off after that. I've got one more here. That's going to get lance on his high horse bid. You're gonna get heated because you have in the past. I am familiar with the the basic race strategies of the tour having followed the race for thirty eight years. however i'm still not clear how the economics of the tour and team finances actually work. Most major sports rely on tv revenues. But it seems. The tour owns those rights for the tour de france. I would be interested in the assessment of the kirk current economic model for bike racing in general and how they're going to adapt when it seems. Many races owned the most valuable rights. That's from chuck in lincoln nebraska. That's where you would say it all the time. That that's a like a five hour podcast but Yeah aso controls all that. They essentially control the sport. And it's just it. Nobody has done anything to affect. Change their the writers haven't come together and the fact that that the prize money has basically stayed the same for since we raised. I mean hello. That's ridiculous it's hugely profitable entity that the you know. The family sits on aso owns the tour. Aso's the army sports organization. That's armory family a. m. a. u. r. y. And they own a bunch of other properties. But it's it's it doesn't trickle down. I mean they were. They even said on tv. Today there were sprinting. For the for the highest point of the tour. Like it's five thousand dollars. I'm like that's not even more saying on national. As i've said you can't even buy the bike riding. Yeah it's it's let me tell you something. I'm fifty almost fifty. I'm going to. I will have a voice in this conversation before. It's all said and i promise you heard it here first. Yes and another good news in all this. The salaries are coming up a bit for the for the riders. That's not prize. Money is basically just a little bonus at the end of the year but primarily and unfortunately it's just a marketing platform for companies. It is a really good. Marketing platform got globalized. All over these teams and that is in itself very valuable but there is no there zero franchise value for now. No that's right. Yeah that that was. That was any part of that question. There's you do not own anything when it's all said and done other than the team bus and some whole jerseys in some bikes now also seems like there should be a pension system for riders. Because there's only a small portion of the the bike racers that are that are set for life when they retire and retiring at thirty five from the sport we saw it in. Nfl this slide. So so or sow teams well. This is some years so this even gone up from their team sky. Twenty thirteen to spend almost twenty two million dollars on rider salaries. We spent just over eleven and a half million in two thousand and two teams guys still back then and still. Is the you know. The gorilla in terms of teams the largest by far and in a unique situation and of course. Now we're seeing some of these middle eastern countries like bahrain. And they they they do not have a budget right any ose. Grenadiers does not have a budget if they have whenever you need well yeah they. They have a a wealthy Supporter that he'll stroke a check but we didn't have that we had to go through in god. We had to look at everything. Here's the tour tour to france prize. Money by the hour. Oh damn well guess if you win. Seven thousand dollars. An hour isn't is a little bit above minimum wage. Well remember you got to split that by nine right. That's true one person's getting that in five hundred ninety five thousand bucks and this is twenty nineteen so that's just barely above what i made. No exactly this is my point. Two thousand five or two thousand when you first one in ninety nine was about the relatively the same amount of prize money and it was compared to rolling guarant- garros for instance now if you win real garrisons about two and a half million. So you can see. We're not moving in other sports. Are we'll little stuck in our ways there but nobody's saying anything i mean if i may have so and i'm like this is amazing. Our revenues going up. Nobody's is taking a stand here. Well i'm not going to change it. Why kazama because they're friends. No they not friends..

Just shut off the uber app. I'm not sure what exactly what happened but it was. That was the the original. I wonder what the record wonder if anybody's ever been in. La and gotten into newburn said. Can you drive me to new york city. That has to be somebody. That's just just as a what. I was desperate. I was not going to spend the next four days in new york city. His family's adventure that that dog is in tow near the dog. We got the dog until another sick and the plane who got sick in the plane. Oh no i'm gonna have to get Melania spa treatment or something when she gets here yeah. You wouldn't let her drive. Which is as your son bringing. His bike is into bringing the bite why. I'm apparently barring one of two lenses bikes mountain biking road bike. So i know you've dropped last night to know actually dropped out on you last month. You give me the thumbs up. Let's look at tomorrow. The highest point. It is another day. Well another day in the knees and finish in a foreign country. Finishing indoor downhill finish downhill finish. I know but we're we're going to just these days bummed me out to look at but we got a couple uphill finishes coming. Cool thing about tomorrow is in in. This is every year during the toured. The highest point in the tour so the highest elevation is the souvenir omri grounds which is generally considered to be the father of the tour france. So that's tomorrow at two thousand. Four hundred eight meters which is only reason. I know how high it is. Because i know aspens twenty four hundred meters. So that's eight thousand feet. That is the very highest point in the tour. And then of course. Downhill finish into indoor. Which i think is is as i think about. This is just not having not having a good a good tour but we we've talked about in the past there their sports director. Who was a guy that we raised with died. Tragically very young nicholas port. It was Was french but lived in andorra. So i feel in there. This is going to be. You're going to see some emotion out of them tamar. Yeah i mean. I'd like to see it to like you. Said they're the biggest team in the peleton. The chances of them unseating boba jar or getting smaller and smaller. And i feel like they need to stop trying to control the race. Make it hard on guitar. That's not really working to have the guys on the breakway. They have guys that live in endure light tailgate tailgating. Heart love to see them. Make a breakaway inongo for the stage one. Yeah i think so. I think that's i think when let's not forget tomorrow starting uphill straight up hill as well So it's going to be brutally hard day for the sprinters Hopefully they stay remained together at a good pace in the valleys and on the downhill. And that's the only way they'll make it to the finish within the time good. Yeah we're getting down there where we know. We're got only one hundred forty nine riders left and we've got three or four days in the pyrenees here. I can't thank pre tour. I think all of us made the assumption that carapace would be on the podium. Yeah which is still a very very high possibility. I mean he's right there in fifth place. I believe in Writing superstrong. I think you'll get better. He's got the grand tour experience But he's got a. He's got no slouches ahead of them with iran. Now martin and vinegar. D- these guys are all writing really well and it's going to be a huge battle for the podium. I still can't get over the fact that rigoberta iran was training and miami. Yeah he was training in southfield. My boy this on drunken dragon racing would ri- with them a few times. And i'm like well. He's in south beach. Right now trained. He's just mind boggling until the fact that he's right there amongst the best right now is just crazy. It's actually super cool. It's flies in the face. I mean look you have going. In was our pre-race premiums roach who spent weeks and weeks and weeks and ten refund top of the of the volcano there. Eight thousand feet there and in the complete opposite. He's in south beach. Well let's not forget he's from he's from other gene lists at high altitude and then he was going back and forth so it's not like I mean a lot of these guys. They have to go away from home and find that altitude. We're seeing that more and more. These guys are not. they're never home anymore. They go from race towel to to camp. But ron is lucky in that sense that he lives at altitude is able to take advantage of the. Why why is it called medigene. When there's no there's no g. r. j. and there's two ells baby but you always say mid a gene some people say gene. Some people say the george takes a lot of liberty with his pronounced. I did a live interview with catechal. The biggest colombian radio station. It's just awesome. Hear them you know. They're just so animated about the ray so animated about the colombians colombians in the breakway today. A colombian fighting for the podium. They got a lot to talk about their country's back. You know you talk about. I was hoping you're going to cue the music. I thought you'd be you weren't ready for that..

I have no idea. Wow it was me kalunda. Jiro of course wasn't it because gino mater described himself as swiss guards protecting me calendar until enforc- crashed and he was the pope. He's not kind of kind of fit to them. Well name. I think a good time. Trial with the pointy hat Very i'm i'm out with my depth fair with talk. Back back on the podcast. Four hours just on nickname here is going. Well the line though. Richard today on our social media china. Well you do your predictions of who who may well feature in the results in tour de france stage and today i couldn't help but notice that all of the riders you picked with danish. There's eleven of them in a tour de france. So you picked an danish selection of riders. The formation was terrible. I mean you had all owner rogers in the wrong formations. I think that sean crowd anderson and casper ice cream would be attacking wingbacks while he was a sweeper. Today wasn't ill. he will sell and crown and mikhail. Mccoo will michael moore would be just sitting in front of the back. Four orchestrating things straighten everything. He that the dane did not win today. But i'm looking forward to my bacon on a pint of carlsberg to wash over dinner tonight. It's never been done purpose as far as lesson little thing because mentioning these fourteenth century. They were no bikes. So so you worked on tour with his Brother Why did he was a long walk. And when they came to the top they sold know all the landscapes around old of the the the panorama and being a port. He said well it's and it's kind of an inspiration for rogers he said. "The move the move for twenty percent off at checkout all right one thing that we have not talked about in the first ten stages of the tour de france is the alternative tour to france. That's going on with a writer that i think most people just love this guy in his personality in his character. He's always doing very strange. Rides to test himself. And that's lachlan morton who's been doing the entire. Tell me if. I'm getting any of this wrong. Johan the entire tour route. He's writing ahead of the twitter france but where other people do transfers from one city to another on their team bus or whatever. He's also writing the transfers solo. It's unbelievable i mean You know we're talking about the world to writer here who who Has one of you die in the past than i think. A top placing also into california at some point. You know we're talking about label. Koch cacho in being yellow but say the real leader of the of france is likely morton. He's going east. he's up. Front is the first writer of everybody. you know. it's a different race. he's racing. he's you know he's raising money for charity for world bicycle relief which is which is a great organization Run founded and run by a friend of ours. F k day so man. I've seen seen these videos of this guy. It's how can you. How can you do this. I mean it's like he's writing all the stages as writing by bike all transfers before and after the stages unsupported no no vehicle. Nothing he just has his own stuff with him. I saw some strange. I mean i had. I had to look at it. And it's actually i mean that's that he had an injury at some point so his knee started to hurt and he took advice from a friend of his. I think mountain biker. Or i don't know anyway. It australian guy who's been riding his whole career on on flat pedals so during one of those stages he just you know switched from his second shoes and his klis pedals to flat pedals with sandals and he's writing those stages getting over those mountains on flat pedals with sandals. I mean that's just extreme. I mean this guy is. I've seen some other some other Video of him doing other crazy stuff in australia. I think i saw one thing that he did but his broader long rides like mass. I mean like monster rides But this is this is something else when this is gonna be the tourists. Three thousand something kilometers is going to be five thousand two hundred kilometers or something. He's going to do and he. His goal is to arrive in paris before the peleton. And you know how fast you have to go. Will he get to roll down the shop. Sylla's age if they time that al like early enough you know like when the all the sponsors are going to people are going to go crazy while they know the story. I think everyone knows the story. That would be amazing. I would be amazing. Also i don't i don't know if he's going to get permission of the tour de france of course because it's not really part of the tour de france in the bubble of the tour but yeah i mean what an initiative you know I've been personally involved with world bicycle. Relief Number of years ago. When i got the witness the way this charity works. And it's there. It's very specific. It's bikes you. Know a specific bikes for people who need transportation in third world countries mainly in their their Correct me if. I'm out there heavier. More maintenance free bikes. It's needed right. Yeah i think. I think they they. They built their own brands called the buffalo bike which is a bike. I've ever those bikes. It's it's amazing. I mean they're made for those roads you know. I've seen firsthand. What a bicycle in due to a family would need transportation. No they're focused. Their their biggest concentration is on on on children. Who go to school and you know normally have to walk sometimes ten fifteen kilometers to school and then back and you know they can basically make that four times four times less by having a bicycle basically. It's you know you give a bicycle to a child and then the family can use it. Also it's like it's like getting a car by getting a family wagon like a big nice family wagon that you can use for everything it's the same thing So yeah i mean it's it's a big. It's a nice initiative of like morton to raise money. And i think he's doing pretty well You know it's going to be a lot of new bags going to those to those kids and You know a side note here in this. This isn't about me. But this is how i i met. Got to know johan and people. I don't think no this story. Is i with my radio. Show in austin. That's when i i first met lance back in ninety six when you before his. When he was sick he started a foundation. I had a radio show reached out. How can i help. And then that same year. I started a bike for kids. Charity giving underprivileged kids around central texas bikes and over the years. It just grew and grew and grew and lance would come support my project. Every year i continued to do Af support loss lance armstrong foundation which eventually became lift strong but then as it continued to grow. You guys started doing postal camps in austin december. Which was when we were doing. Our heavy fundraising and not only had lance continued to come and sign autographs which helped our fundraising go through the roof He would have the whole team. Come down in the morning and we do these these broadcasts and you would always come in. That's where we first met. Many many many years ago and so the fourth for that was huge. Still know the name of the show. Yeah and sandy. That's right right right. We we did about a twenty year. Run in and raised Thanks to the help of of lance and postal just over two million dollars. While so anyhow i think a lot of people are always asking. How'd you get involved with these guys. It goes way way back. So we wish lachlan morton. It's a story to follow. Give them a follow on instagram. I i saw a picture. He posted where his feet just. Maybe that's why he wanted to sandals his feet just looked like they were rotting from moisture. so it looked. It looked painful. Hopefully he can finish. Hopefully he can finish the tour. Yeah cool story and i. i've never met lachlan. i met his brother.

"He's a young kid. A lot can happen. Life starts to move fast. He seems like he's awfully mature. And humble but i i wouldn't if all these other guys we talked about it with you guys wanting to develop in a to a writers like we said this but for the record we said this two years ago with bernal all you other young guys out there that wanna be. We'll guess what here comes. Part of the game is handling the fame and got seems to be hand in handling whoever comes next. i mean. We didn't two years ago when we said what we said about brunell. We didn't we'd never even heard of this kid so but right now he looks unbeatable for quite some time. I got a question too. So this is j. b. to show and for lance. Today's situation Sammy's zach situation lance. Would you let the l. jersey go and would johan want the jersey gun. I'd like to know that you can answer that now. And he can answer on his show. Well okay what my answer is. It wouldn't have been up to me if y'all would've said you guys sit up and give give ben o'connor nine minutes and you know we still have the jersey by forty six seconds. Then that's what we would have done. There would have been a part of me inside connor. I don't even know. Ben o'connor am ben o'connor is good writer. I'm not knocking him. But i would. I would have been like wait. We're gonna let it go. Well you can't keep it at nine minutes. Nine minutes is too close for people to start attacking and chasing. Something's going to happen. Inevitably at with five kilometers on the climate. Like you saw today stiller. Well the magic number was eight minutes. Fourteen seconds yes correct. But i'm saying that they're within eight to nine minutes and it's when attacks are going by the guys in the second third fourth place. They're going to been twelve minutes. Should have been twelve minutes in that valley but they were really going forward so they had a clear intention. i think to keep the eligibility. Yeah but it'd be interesting to see. I will sure johanna break that down and discuss more tactics and what. Uae needs to do to defend. That's what he's good at by the way who was his pick for today. He didn't he just said it a breakaway he said. This is a wildcard breakaway day. Which in kinda turned out to write it did. We're now for the betting. Show the will will will eventually get around to. He's going to have to go more specific Then you can't make bets on wildcard breakaway and we're looking for a name for that show right so if anybody wants to shoot out some potential navy. We'll check them out yet. We had one lobbed already. I won't. I won't reveal right now. You guys will be out there. Stealing r r. I p around that but it's common. It's common all right. Enjoy the rest day. Enjoy the fourth of july. If you're here. In the united states of america we got it. We did get a correct pronunciation of barra. I thought we were so smart yesterday. "Jockocracy. Who won five times tour de france and pretty door. They hated unconcealed and they lost really really. Yeah but i didn't know that. Why because of rivalry would they are deal if if you're if you win and you and you win and you keep winning. Then they don't like you anymore. It's not nice. It's not nice to win too much better to now. And then you know lose but give it your everything you know and being nice and poor ramon you know he could have won but he's too nice. You know so anyway. We got a bit off topic here. That's the culture that's the culture and you know the. I'm sure that the culture of patrick lefavor is winning I'm sure that the culture of they've braille for any nails is winning. You know that that's just the way it is. Yeah i know. I hear you one more question for you this is. I don't know how much of a beer drinker you are. No honey you're probably wind guy. I'm i'm belgian. So it's it's bad to say it's bad to say. I'm not a beer drinker. Because i think we are. You know we have the most different beers in the world But i'm not a beer drinker at all. I i like red wine. Okay well maybe. I'll i'll take a stab at the question and then maybe you can change it to wine if you want. Jodi writes to us and says i've got a fun off topic question for johann. Everyone knows the two best things to come from. Belgium are bikers and beers. I'm curious what belgian beers are johan favorites. That's from jodi. Ray is out of austin. I'm sorry i'm sorry. I'm not a beer drinker at all and actually i. I could have a beer. But i don't enjoy a beer. I enjoy a beer as i can enjoy a good red line. So so that's another another good thing from belgium. Apart of bike riders and beers chocolate belgian. We have great chocolate. isn't there. there's somebody in the peleton who was a chocolate tear before racing right. No right now. it's it's Yasser stephen guy will second today and winner of on sunday more x. Lift strong writer. Yeah you have a favorite wine right now. You know this mean favorite wines. It it depends on your wallet right but i i really like i've gotten to really appreciate spanish wines. spanish wines or incredibly good compared to quality price And so i like I like rebate widow. That's the region so you have you have rio hop which is the well-known region for red lines but the i prefer rebate on twitter. There's plenty of good wines. I mean and not expensive. You know. I heard that you guys were talking about Wine bottles below one hundred dollars yesterday while there. That was on the happy hour. There is so many great great great red lines in spain from radio kind from debate other widow affordable between fifty and seventy five euros. Okay yeah great lights okay. Good to know good to know someone might listening. Might add that to their their shopping list at the widow. Okay cool if you want to write to johann ask a question for future show send it to j. b. squared that's j. b. to the number two at we do dot team and We'll be back tomorrow after Stage eight thank you first day in the mountains. "Way in only one way forever. Times are changing right and so for us. We're looking at the price tags of these bikes. they're expensive. I can buy car for the price. I can buy most of these bikes right and the service that you were getting inexperienced you were getting was not matching now. I love dealers. I think there are some fantastic dealers. But then there's some less than fantastic dealers right so you might walk in by fifteen thousand dollar bike and not get that experience. The person that you're speaking with not very knowledgeable and so we wanted to own the whole ecosystem so we are responsible from the presale to the postel to delivery. And that's the other thing too. I'm looking at these fifteen thousand bikes and say something happens will. The dealer loves to blame the manufacturer the manufacturer to blame the dealer three weeks later. You still don't have a bike. That's a problem. That's not okay when you're spending that kind of money so i didn't think the service level was on par with the price tag. Another example is this is one of your listeners. One of your listeners. Just one in florida. We delivered it with our system. Could sumo delivery bike fully built right your door that you experienced that and you know there was an issue. There was an issue with the bike. And so what we did. We sent out another bike. We dropped off the bike with his measurements. Took the bike and now we're going back to rnd to see what happened but he got his bike fixed immediately. That's not his bomb. It's our problem. So the guy drive from utah to florida. Yeah that is like yeah because do drove to my house and he had a funny stories to this guy. That should i can't really. I can't believe i'm here. Giving his bike. I was like all right cool man. I was very impressed with your story than i was getting to the good part and then he said you know. I was at When i went to the tour france with my Friend of mine's family One of the years. I don't really remember 'cause we were super drunk. We're just dumb kids but anyway it was. It was fine But it's sweetheart. The bike showed up. I could just pedaled off right. There was none of this coming out of the box. None of chris house when he got his amazon and i was so impressed with the way. The bike comes. I mean this is the way the boxes engineer. And it's super easy and we're like the worst mechanics history. We could easily put that thing the other and go. That's great dude. Thanks for being here. Hey guys thanks. We're going to go for a pedal after this. Do i take it easy on me. Hey take it easy george. I said talk to me duct. I'm i bet you know. Georgia's the fans i on bump back to prosper. At the moment however dea walks in and just completely kicked my in the hair category. I mean this is the any you know. Just have so many questions percival. You wear a helmet when you ride right. I do i do. actually. I wear a large. When it's this big remedium when it's a little bit smaller way lance before you start you know i brought you a gift would kill me and and youtube george if i didn't if i came to show him handed so i got you my favorite conditioner. Yeah so this is how you can have hair this good right right. Yeah yes so and georgia. It's really good for the beard. Man have hair like that but he smells like when he he's smells so good mile away a mile away. I think. I think my wife actually made me by the same cologne that he wears. He just what everyone's gonna ask. I know our listeners. Lula boo wait. What was that. what was that. So companies little bow and then the senate is twelve. Oh we're talking about the. Yeah by the way. I don't use conditioner either. I should start doing that. you should. You should georgia's tsa approved flight commercial. So i wanna. His fancy friends doesn't send the gysi. Aw can guy take zanex just to get on the plane. Other people on that cheap shot was for one reason. Only you touched on it. Use stole the segment you still the segment. It was in our home state. Utah's excited powder mountain. We can wait to welcome you. Paved road yeah then. All of a sudden eleventh hour pulled out the north carolina phone tree next week up all these. These george sycophants excuse to come. Visit me check out the segment. That's so that's a good question so because it was down to two yet powder mountain in utah and then you had pilot mountain in north carolina. How far is powder mountain from the event on world headquarters an hour and a half not even yes. How convenient hour and a half away. We got deal. We've gotta talk man we we gotta get our people engaged or something for me. It's all about the small battle. Gonna win when i can and then. This is one that i felt like you had the opportunity now. We know next year next year event is going to do something special it will be in utah. Mark my words you yeah d- we always talk about your bikes all the time on the show. And and and i. And i practice what i preach the and the gs one absolutely love him bike businesses. Crazy crazy crazy. Like i mean. It's like the bike business. Invented covert golf and cycling invented. Covert but people can't get bikes vice. It's amazing what we're lucky. I mean the biggest issues components. No one has components There's a huge global shortage as a container shortage gaming. Get them over the over to the states. So that's the biggest bottleneck now. Luckily for us we are managing our supply chain. We have bikes so. We're able to fulfill bikes and we assemble everything here in the us and so we don't have that lack time where others manufacturer and also assemble in asia and because of the global continue shortage and because of the times of customs these. These components are backed up once a month. So where would assemble here and get it out faster. So that's been our saving grace on bottlenecks. That ship that got stuck in the did that affect that was amazing. Like this poor guy had trying to turn the thing around get stuck anywhere. Nobody could get like medicine or drillers. Does that affect or was that a whole different didn't affect us however affected another brand. That is a european brand who that ship there already delayed massively by year that actual ship had all their inventory at one was holding a sign. And that's what the ship that's right. Thank got side. She was looking the other way. Say hi to grandma and grandpa. you know what i'd love to ask d- about Because when we first met you down at the we we do headquarters. You're rolling out your first road bike. 'cause you've been making try bikes in killing it. And that was several years ago and the growth in gravel. I mean i see it all over austin people are going out on these country roads and we were talking here in the studio a few days ago. You're seeing it just it's crazy crazy. It's it's the fastest growing segment after e bikes. Which that's a different story. But yeah honestly. We got lucky. We got lucky because we're performance brand everything we're going to do. Is performance related. We looked at the gravel segment and people using cyclocross. Nothing specific to gravel. It was a wild wild west. Do mullet bill. Do we do this. What kind of gearing are we using so we came in and said you know what we're going to make a race gravel by as for you one day event it's not for you know. Go from here to miami right. This is like a very performance driven bike. And that's kinda the nisha we wanted to go for and then we did it and immediately it just blew up. It just blew up against honesty. Thanks to coffey. That's awful but covert has really turned people into gravel. You can do the comprised anymore and so we had the perfect product at the perfect time in this now. Our number one seller miles. Yeah and it's got technology that just most grow bikes. Don't so we took what we learned in the tri world and swan. We put the technology if you look at it it's completely integrated. It's super dynamic the arrow penalty on the gravel by compare. the road. bike is so small. That i can just carry my gravel bike in two sets of wheels thick wheels. If i'm gonna go gravel and then some nice thirties for the road right yeah. It's much lighter than most of the gravel bikes and a lot of the gravel bikes. A lot the cockpits are a lot higher. I did lie. Did like seeing lanta much more sort of road position now. Very sympathize road bikes really interested in that june. Despite all this this. I mean i was just off that day. What's your gravel bikeway. Mine is just over seventeen crazy. I'm a big boy in the hammer. Suhair 'way five pounds just looking at you. I'm dying to ask. The is getting into the bike business. When there are brands that have been around for a hundred years. tons of. and there's i'm sure there's so many other things that you look at startup world in. It's all new new things that we haven't seen before. Why get into this game that because of exactly what you just said. These brands have been around for a hundred years. Have been doing it in one way in only one way forever. Times are changing right and so for us. We're looking at the price tags of these bikes. they're expensive. I can buy car for the price. I can buy most of these bikes right and the service that you were getting inexperienced you were getting was not matching now. I love dealers. I think there are some fantastic dealers..

"Winning streak is quite amazing but my impression because there's not clear leader in the team for the tour. They might be the some wet the sun web of the tool twenty twenty and i think they've got lots lots of chances to win stages and i guess that's what they're going to aim for and chops. I think they've got a really good chance of taking the first yellow jersey of the race. I mean if sony bradley was to win on saturday people would pop as an as an upset given the van. The poll and allah philippa very much fancied but called. Borelli is in fantastic form and with every passing week month becoming less of a bunch sprinter more of a kind of puncture almost philippe mode. We saw that the dolphin and yesterday italian national championships. He when he dropped everyone on on an uphill finish. So he's real chance. I think on saturday. You think he defenses for the green jersey also to go for something that is gonna profile. Definitely francois i especially given the van has already. He said that he won't go for that. Saigon is obviously the favorites. And i think sand over the last year oh two has shown signs of being less of a less of a threat for stage. Wins in bunch. Sprints burton in case abilities are diminished in any way as far as consistency and the green jerseys concerned but called borelli might put up a credible challenge any other surprises in the lineups. I think any us grenadiers. Eight writer team was confirmed after record. Last week donald. Both of you were expressing some surprise. We're all dying. You're expressing some surprise. That ruined danis wasn't in the lineup. jonathan castro vehicle road. The the the is is probably in his in his place. Although i'm he's a bit of roy dennis of casablanca of dylan van borrow. Perhaps and that's maybe the point that he is maybe a more versatile writer slightly. I'm surprised because to me. Run really epitomizes. this role. This figure the kind of writer who has been key to the success of lost few years in the age of the eight-man teams. Dennis has been a guy who can do the work of he's in outstanding mountain. Domestique was absolutely instrumental in tailgate winning jerry last year but also is really good on the on the flat as we know so. I'm slightly surprising. And i see his mission as well any maybe giving up a bit of an advantage or further advantage. They had over the likes of you a emerson jumbo basement. It's well documented or certainly Frequently speculated about denis's while the reasons he left bahrain morita couple of years ago. And this idea that he hamby a volatile character. This been no suggestion that they've been problems of that nature any days but perhaps team harmony or the fact that he's rumored to be leaving the team they they were factors as well. I'm not quite sure i was surprised. I i'm i don't think i don't think the emission will launch will change much and i'm not even sure you know denny's with made the team i know nobody's quote is obviously but you need the balance in the team. Your we already have. Four would be jesse leaders if you had had another strong personality As a fifth teammate in in danny's then maybe they did the the balance of the team might have been a madman of change. A little bit and an in kosovar in the mountain and demon van is also multitask Tool you know in many ways. I don't think you consider their bud. Riders were bu teammates. Made lots of teams would would love to have these guys in their ranks Maybe also as we saw in the jiro Last year dennis was the guy in the leading the bunching in in in the mountains. What is it what we're expecting of this year to control the raise and to lead the way in the mountains. I'm not sure. I mean and that's another question. We raised before recording. you know. what are we going to see in. The climbs is any team going to lead the way and if so which team. Yeah the issue of whether we'll say the typical train or the what was the sky. Train is a is an interesting one. Because theoretically you could imagine. Luke rowe dylan fan bala doing their work before the final climbing the big amounts of stages with multiple crimes. And and what does that leave what it leaves maybe custody. I'm sending a false pace into the bottom of those climbs then create kofsky taking over. But then you're into the leaders or the semi leaders. The tagging hearts ritchie ports. And you're into the likelihood of having to sacrifice someone. I struggle to imagine what that's that's going to look like. I think there will be times in the race when they will want to take control in the mountains and do precisely not set setting a high pace is that going to be to the detriment of this collective advantage. They have this embarrassment of riches in terms of potential leaders. And to what end. Because the m you know you see a- a mountain train if you want to call it that when a team has an overwhelming favourite or the a writer that the who they know is the strongest writer and the race as we saw with you movies ma last year. That was the that was the way that they wrote. Because they believe that raw glitch was the strongest and the race favourite to win but in doing so all they did was they dragged today pocket shower around france for three weeks before he produced outperformance set diplomacy belfi and they were stung by that definitely. They won't make that same mistake again. And i kind of look around the different teams in wonder which if any teams will m i mean any us grenadiers if they were to write in that way am.

We spoke last night about my mommy star. These days. He spent a lot of last week's episode talking about movie stars and the Fantastic. Season 2 of the Netflix series. We may have more on that at the during the Tour de France. Actually, but and, and the whole sort of, you know, the the possibilities of our cycling drive to survive, the, the F1 series that understand that, that might be in the pipeline there have been. They've been moved by the, some of the teams and by ASO too long to get something like that off the ground. And that could be the problem that they are in opposition to each other. But we'll see, we'll cover that a bit in the during the tour, but may have a very Dynamic and exciting team. They do reach..
