Charlie Welcomes Congressman Ted Budd, Senate Candidate for NC

"I love North Carolina, it's one of the nicest states in the entire country. North Carolina, the tar heel state, has some phenomenal people, and we have with us right now, someone who is running to become the next senator from North Carolina and not allow a Democrat to win. Ted Budd is with us. Ted, welcome to the Charlie Kirk show. Charlie, it's great to be with you and I first met you in North Carolina. Back when Nancy Pelosi put me on her list of 33 members of Congress, Republicans to eliminate back in 2018, member of the top year for Republicans and Don Junior, U came into Davidson county, right there in the middle of North Carolina and campaigned for me and really appreciate that. I remember that very well. So tell us about your race and I mean, North Carolina is experiencing a lot of the same sort of issues, the country is experiencing rising crime, inflation, talk about some of the top issues that you're running in campaigning on that are affecting North Carolina voters. You know, historically, you've seen somebody have to change from the primary over to the general, but you don't really have to do that in this race because the issues are still the same. And it's two main issues. One of the things that I did among all the Democrats that were running really who just consolidated around sherry Beasley. And we had a big primary that we had to navigate through on the Republican side. But we went to all 100 counties far west in the mountains, the corners and the east of North Carolina and talked to folks all across the spectrum in the two issues, Charlie, that keep coming up. One is inflation. I mean, even today, we're seeing new inflation numbers and yet have increased again. It's now 9.1% over the prior 12 months. And we're coming into next month where parents are preparing for back to school. They're going to have to decide they're going to put groceries on their table or are they going to buy new clothes and new backpack for their kids going to school? So these are real decisions that are affecting folks. Construction businesses trying to keep the doors open with the rise of the material cost. And then the other issue we're seeing, it has to do with crime. And a lot of that crime Charlie starts at the border because what sheriffs in North Carolina are telling me is every single county is now a border county because of Joe Biden's open border

"The with kevin mason so many of us are still focused on the pandemic kobe. Trying to get out of it trying to get back to normal. I saw news story the other day about national. Just made me shake my head and kind of disgust and that was one of our city. Councilman has decided. Now's the time to redo the nashville flag. It's not actually national flag. Davidson county's flag. Because back in the nineteen sixties nashville government and davidson county merged. And really with all. That's going on right now. We have some problems with taxation and the rising cost of living in nashville They don't think our flag is representative enough of our community. And we want to redesign it. Now it's only one councilman so far. I'm sure once he brings it up with city council they'll dismiss it out of the way completely but of course some of our online journalists have gotten a hold of it decided well agree that maybe it is time to make nashville look a little bit better on the public spectrum on the nationwide spectrum on the world wide spectrum. I didn't realize there was such a big deal with city flags. I know the chicago city flag. Because it's been a part of my life forever but a city flag. Are we really worried about that. Right now and come on nashville. Let's get back together.

"There's more things going on right in that general area. There's an additional overlay on top of the general services millage rate that you have to pay that's called the urban Services. Wow. Right. So if you live closer to downtown, your tax rate is actually gonna be a little bit higher than if you live in the outskirts of Davidson County. Ouch. Okay right now that again. That's only because there is such a big city and Davidson County that Davidson County operates that way. All the other police Is generally don't do that. Okay. Okay, so then so then the tax rate that they end up coming up with that set by the county commission, and they did they basically take the assessed value. Multiply it by the ratio to come up with your tax rate. So whatever the how they figure your house is worth, and that's always not necessarily what the house is worth like on the open market. Which is why, when you look at your tax bill, it says, your house is worth one thing. But in reality if you go to Zillow or anything like that, it's going to say it's more but different parts of the country. They actually go off the market value, which is probably accounts for why their property taxes are much much higher. So I mentioned earlier that with new construction, it's a little bit different than just purchasing a home that's already been lived in, right, right. Right. So what happens with new construction? That's different is The initial tax that gets collected like when we are helping you purchase a home. Let's say if you're buying a new construction, we have to go based off what your purchase prices and then used this same calculation. To determine what your taxes are going to be that we're going to collect. Now. The reason for that is because we don't know what the assessor is actually going to appraise the whole matter because they're all brand new and they haven't gotten around to it yet. Exactly. So when you're purchasing a new construction home, you're gonna have your taxes calculated based off what your purchase price is, what'll end up happening once the home gets assessed by The assessor gets appraised by the assessor. They're going to determine what their appraised value is of your property based on that area, So so did they usually go down at that point. They do, actually. Yeah. Um And I'm honestly I couldn't tell you the reason for that, because you would think they have a registered sale. And here's what it's worth, But maybe they just think people are over paying for houses. I'm not really sure, but yeah, they usually do come down. So what That means for you, if if you're gonna buy new construction house Is We're going to collect higher taxes. And then once the tax bill comes out The service or the mortgage servicer is going to do an escrow analysis and they're going to say OK, Well, we're collecting, you know, X amount of dollars for your tax bill. And your tax bill only ended up being this much so we're gonna lower your payment and then we're going to give you a refund for that difference. Nice. So you may get a little bit of money back. Everybody likes a refund. Absolutely. So do all municipalities use property tax revenue for the same type of stuff. I would say. Generally speaking, Yes. I mean, certain areas, they're gonna have different needs. So like if you look at, you know, somewhere like New York, for example. Well, they have to deal with snow removal. That's not something. We deal with it in Nashville. You know, if it snows, everything just shuts down for a couple of days. Right up north, where it snows a lot. They have to pay for the plow trucks. They have to pay for salt. I have to pay for the employees to deal with it. So there's you know, depending on different geographic areas there can be some variances is toe what your taxes are used for. But generally speaking, it is used for covering services like you mentioned with. You know the police fire education. Different local local government funding comes from some of that, In addition to like the sales tax and things like that, and I've noticed the different parts of the areas around here when it does snow. They Some areas are quicker to respond to have the roads plowed and salted in that kind of thing is it's kind of obvious you know, like I lived in Brentwood for a lot of years and You know, it snowed and man. They were out there right away, and the roads were cleared right away, And you just crossed over the county line into the next county, And it's all covered in snow for like, a few days before they got around to it. Well, I guess we should go ahead and take a break. And all this tax talk is giving me a headache. I'm gonna have to gonna have to take a quick break, but we'll be back on Highness home show in just.

Tennessee man freed after serving nearly 15 years for a murder he didn't commit

"V N So just imagine you are in prison. You know what you were in there for? And, um, what it is, is something that you didn't knew. No. And I mean, think about it. You go into a prison. And that's the government changing your trash pickup day. Our garbage pickup has changed from friday to monday. Be honest with you. we don't care. We were always used the monday and the other part of nashville where we lived when used to be monday so we were used to it. When we moved to the north side of town it changed a friday but recently davidson county. The county that nashville is in decided. They were adding another day of garbage pick-up meaning. They were going from four days a week to five and we were informed about a month ago. We were going from friday to monday now. Here's the funny part. We got picked up on a friday and then the change started the next monday so we got picked up on friday and then monday. But we're the second week into a monday. Pickup and people are still riled up. People still don't want to put their garbage out. They don't know what to do. It's kind of funny. That people are so upset so riled up and well. It's not that big a deal but what's really going to be. A big deal is if they have to change garbage pickup just twice a month if our tax base doesn't go up you want to see people get upset. They'll get upset then.

We've had some afternoon thunderstorms until I don't know for whatever reason yesterday just reminded you of how bad it was, You know, like, two weeks ago, so we just need to be done with that dude. Well, you're going to get back into the thunderstorms today. And you know what you may not realize is out here. Just Southwest. Try it over. There was a big complex of thunderstorms or Ariel Blaine for all that. That's a very heavy rainfall. There's flash flooding going on their part of Davidson County got into that, um, that is now settled now, but just to give you kind of a harbinger of things to come As we get into this afternoon, especially we'll start seeing the showers of better story right up Once again. There are few spotty showers around this morning. Other that's attaching file cloud that some sunshine but Go through today tonight tomorrow and maybe lingering in the Saturday we'll get round the showers and thunderstorms. Most of them will be five. Toward the afternoon hours. However, there's gonna be some increased moisture. And the potential for heavy rain and flooding in some spots. So something see what people to be ready for planting, But it could happen quickly. Planet quickly change things and make a very dangerous out there, especially if you're going to be driving. Um no warnings right now, But as we go through the day today tonight Tomorrow, and even on a Saturday, I'd imagine we'll get more flash flooding across the area daytime highs in the little ladies. Certainly. Once it starts raining, the range of your house kept years will chop we may get into a little bit dry weather patterns. Late in the weekend early next week, And the only other thing I wanted to mention was big quester reign of butter Storm sitting off the coast right now, uh, about four canisters developing anything tropical, But, um, these are things that could sneak up on us. Right now There's warm water. There's plenty of thunderstorm activity out over that open water just off the coast of our north South Carolina, so I'll keep it on it. That has a chance of developing anything tropical. I don't think so at this point, but Eventually that moisture gets swept up and off to the north and away from us. There is a tropical depression, which should become tropical Storm Josephine today in a sexual addict, but that looks like it's going to steer away. In the U. Okay, so and then they and then they just There's an address. They can send it back in and then you can't lose things. Then you get 10 days to get this done. We have 10 days, but Your net is so wide and your listeners are so fired up. This can be done and it can probably be done in a few days. If everybody listening to you drop what you're doing and goes. And does that mean this is that doable? New York. I mean, well, look, if you're not that upset if and when you should be if you're living in Nashville, but upset about the property tax increase, you should be. I mean, I thought you know the night that he that Mayor Cooper had this rally encouraging people to come down in the midst of We were watching this. We were watching America burn, and I'm sitting there going. Thank God, this hasn't happened here. All of said he encourages folks to come down in protest the national going on here we go and sure enough, it turned into a riot like everybody knew it would and then we were on the list of all these knucklehead cities around and I said At the time because we were doing a special broadcast that Saturday night we had all the host on covering this thing I said he needs to resign. So he runs as a fiscal Responsible Mayor gets in there and we're talking about the largest property tax increase in the history of national, maybe in the history of America. I don't know any other city that's talked about raising their property tax by 32% a year. Especially when people are even working. He keeps them from having jobs to keep writing. That's the other part. That's great point. Yeah, we can go toe work, but pay us the money. Exactly. It is now rages. Everyone needs to get off the sign line and get in the game and recall this mayor. clean common sense is being down here and so this gym is open and fail it's starting to fill up fast people want to get back to work back to living a normal life now you'll say back to normal is what people want and that's what they're going to get so anyway outside of Davidson county it's working out here it's working we don't believe the the blue state added to this keep everything shut down is not political it's now political and you know what it's sad that so many people going to believe it Twitter Facebook they're gonna believe it Donald Donnelly gonna believe it and you know what go ahead that New York New Jersey California keep shut down go ahead well that's what I'm thinking I'm a give and preview the call them I'm looking at California delegates only got three thousand over three thousand more deaths from the flu in twenty eighteen they have corona virus does and you would think by looking at California they did some plague going on out there they did nothing none of this in twenty eighteen now I as I said before there are some states and this is initially with the area around the yeah this is there like New York and some of these places are hit harder because of the corona virus you're like I don't know what what's the latest on I don't know the latest on New York is for deaths for coronavirus with they had about forty eight hundred deaths from the flu in twenty eighteen and so it's way more than that now so New York had a problem and I told you New York was gonna have a problem with the way this thing gets in the New York City good grief I mean these folks are packed in like sardines but the problem was not that and that you need to stay home if you need to stay off the subway but who is out there telling everybody come ride the subway the Blasi the mayor all it's perfectly safe come right I'm telling you common sense folks common sense would tell you that staying home with people you already know you know I mean that may keep you safe for a while but it's it's not gonna be healthy mentally or any other way if you go out and just not get around folk not get too close to folks with packing in like sardines on a train is a bad idea if you're getting too close where you're sitting I mean not only sitting or standing I mean you're right next to folks and then people started saying well maybe it's from touching things on the right now it's from breathing right face to face with somebody on a train for ten minutes or so do you have your next stop and then you get the groan of ours is not that hard to figure out so that's the first thing that should have been shut down the builder Blazy was out there keeping them open saying come ride the subway Nancy Pelosi saying come to Chinatown these are the stupid things that you should have been doing but as far as staying home what you should do is just stay separated from folks go out and do whatever go to a restaurant but don't sit right next to somebody else when you go to the grocery store don't get writing somebody else's face I mean these are common sense things but we knew this and so we just done then we would have had to shut down all the coming down but I'm looking at all these other US states of the so you got New York and several others that have more deaths than they had in twenty eighteen and if that's the case you know Pennsylvania is one of them too I think Michigan and so if you have more deaths and I'm more of a problem then you need to treat a little bit differently but for the rest of us I mean it's it's the main we're in Tennessee if this thing's likes in a foreign country and new York's kind like a foreign country but nothing is you new Yorkers is just it is it is a totally different world from where we are and I understand the folks from there come here I got a friend newsmax Bob hosts the show that I'm on and Bob sellers he actually lives here and so he comes home on the weekends here and you're so he could bring it home with a well yes but it's not bloody likely as long as he's keeping his distance from other people I'm usually use some common sense were none I don't I don't know to tell you I mean it's just the over reaction has been staggering rich you're up next rich what's up hello how you doing rich I'm on your mind they're rich whether I want to tell you what's happened in the nursing home I was that one my girlfriends mothers in a nursing home she cannot see your mother we proceeded to see for workers it is the same table Robert cigarettes now math are you can still you can just tell that I don't know I don't want to say that they didn't go out good people but it looked like they weren't it may very much you know what I mean so yeah that's a problem with serving the homes and so what what's happening is I'm sure that they have cut their their work but they're making the same money they're making more money yeah you know I think a lot of us think that these businesses are suffering a lot of them are using their there's a big store chain you know that we all know there Kirner hours entertainment there people there for some people to come in when they want to know what's happening is these nursing homes are not being policed is there someone going in and making sure that they're following the protocol that they're supposed to be following you know they can't let anybody else seeing even if they've been tested for cobra you know I say you needed you need to step up and go around the media call the governor this look I will ask him I know I've tex I've text people right next to the governor king anybody that takes me back because of it if it was his mother I guarantee you he'll be looking at what's going on in the nursing homes well and they're covering up all these deaths are not from Kobe they are not something else I want to know I mean we don't we you know that's some that's that's the other part of the scandal that we may never find out is how many of it how many of these deaths were inflated to make him look like corona virus and you know what if I was president that's the first thing I would do I would have I would have them the biggest investigation in the history of this country and I would do it by every state every state medical examiner as examiner you have to investigate every death because it's not just about this virus it isn't gonna happen again and if we don't change the way that we do our systems like they should have a system now for the scale of you know Hey scale from the flu to this virus to you know we we need to have protocols for each you know each level of of problems in this country you know if we don't learn from this one what's going to happen when we have a virus that kills fifty percent or seventy five percent of the people I get it or you know even a hundred percent who knows now what I preach I appreciate it very much Richard it's it's a matter of skews the squeaky wheel syndrome and so corona viruses this week you will I'm not saying it's not a but series thing don't don't misunderstand me it is quite serious in parts of the country it is not so serious in other parts of the country and we should be treating it for what it is has a one of A. get serious then we'll treat it is serious but in the meantime you don't need the conf completely shut down everything until you start to see that you're getting a problem and this is what we've had seven states thanks B. name of your brand name off the top of my head into Arkansas is one of them Wyoming South Dakota North Dakota I think Montana was another one and I think we were two more that's five there were two more they never closed everything down they never close down commerce ever closed down the local businesses and things like this and they've seen some of the lowest death rates in the entire country because they knew they didn't have the authority to do it so you remember this and said that South Dakota was the new hot spot remember that they had an outbreak at but this weather's Smithfield's which by the way Smithfield is owned by the Chinese now a lot of people are we told you that a couple years ago so they had a big outbreak at Smithfield and so that the the news media's going a state didn't close down and now they're the hot spot of the gun that the hot spot they had a few cases at the Smithfield and they isolate those folks that was the end of it so the governor says we still don't have the authority to close everything down we're not going to change what we're doing we're going to be more cautious obviously around this area with the Smithfield was but that's all we're gonna do that's all we can do I mean her point was we are not allowed to do this as your governor I can't close your business down so now we're looking at a state by the way let me bring this up again amber North Carolina hold on one second is gonna be interesting to see North Carolina Andrea I don't know a lot of there there okay so North Carolina seven hundred ninety deaths from corona virus twenty eighteen flu deaths two thousand seventy four so they've had it you say twice twice as many flu deaths in twenty eighteen then they have grown grown virus and they're still shut down and they may not allow the Republicans have a convention in August August SO good couple who's a Democrat and I grew up with them he's a nice guy but he is a political animal he's gonna do with the political machine wants him to do if the people are whispering in his ear keep it shut down keep it shut down this is hurting trump let's kick he'd be going you that's what he's gonna do and so trump and the Republicans are going to site within the next week if they get the money back isn't sure they're gonna move to Georgia or they're gonna move to Florida or somewhere that will actually open up and have a convention and that's what they're going to do and I think they should do that but if you're looking at the science and that's what could keep stock but he's looking at the science cook hello science you had more than twice as many deaths in twenty eighteen from the flu did you shut down the state in twenty eighteen now so why are you shutting it down now if you're looking at the science the science says this is half as bad as the twenty eighteen flu season and you didn't do any of this for the twenty eighteen flu season so what don't talk to me about the science but see the lives loves to talk about the science that's what they do with global warming need to follow the science and of course the science is a moving target the sciences whatever they want to manipulate the science to be we'll be back six one five seven three seven nine nine eight six they were.

Senator Marsha Blackburn Speaks About The Corona virus And Election Security

"So much what a pivot to to a senator Marsha Blackburn who is joining us and she is a Republican from Tennessee and senator Blackburn thank you so much I know that you have not only been coping with this issue with regards to cook at nineteen but of course in your home state you have got a lot of people that are hurting and regrettably that are that are making funeral preparations at this hour and for that you have our deepest condolences well thank you for that and we appreciate the condolences and prayers and Tennessee is the volunteer state and I will tell you yesterday when I was out and out Wilson county Davidson county Putnam County which has been the hardest hit to see all the volunteers that showed up to help and volunteers in the churches that are coming around these families who are now planning funerals and in the midst of homes being destroyed in businesses being destroyed they are standing with these families and helping them get through a time of just deep deep grief and sorrow as they have lost homes and livelihoods and have lost these precious lives and are experiencing that grief senator Blackburn I was reading about to that there was a young couple the husband wife and a child all three of whom perished invests in that storm system those that tornado outbreak I mean you're talking about a generation of of a of a family that is just been eliminated and and how the how other members of family cope with that to me is just a it's a grief that I pray none of us ever know that **** well you're exactly right and to see these families and in the midst of this grief they're out searching for even a picture something from that family that they can use as they go through the process of remembering and the sadness fear the children that have died in this is the children that are hospitalized right now with injuries and the numbers that are hospitalized and have the injuries and Putnam County with eighteen deaths that are there it's just devastating and you look at this area of Baxter which is right outside of Cookeville Tennessee there in Putnam County is a community of about twelve hundred people and they've got a hundred and twenty five homes and businesses that no longer exist they're gone it is a field of rubble and it is just it is just devastating and there's they were using one building that was standing as kind of their command center there was a another market that was still standing one down the road was totally gone gas pumps market everything gets a sign of it anybody's ever walk to the this scene after a tornado it's it'll take your breath away the damage in Maine yeah I've been in war zones hurricanes tornadoes and I have never seen anything like this and are you satisfied help senator of Blackburn are you satisfied with the federal response thus far I have you been in contact with the trump White House I have been in touch with the president with the White House I was on the ground yesterday with the regional administrator for FEMA a team of which is the Tennessee emergency management association has a website set up it is T. N. dot gov forward slash team at T. E. M. A. I. individuals can go there and get information on how they access help but the governor in Tennessee is doing a good job we'll have the president on the ground tomorrow people are looking forward to having him there so that he can see firsthand so we're talking to sue us senator Marsha Blackburn and senator we saw also that your that the Tennessee governor had held a news conference this morning saying that Tennessee has the first confirmation of cold hit nineteen as well also from middle Tennessee talk about adding insult to injury as you guys are coping with the tornado damage you're also dealing with this covert nineteen outbreak that is correct in the state health department I had the confirmation on this case yesterday it is a forty four year old male he lives in Williamson County which is right outside of Nashville that Sir Brentwood Franklin area I he had attended an international conference which was held in the United States after he returned home he did not feel well so eventually as his system and his symptoms worsened he decided to go to take medical care and that is when he was tested and he is quarantined at home with his family now we we have seen some of the measures in places like China some of the European measures when it comes to this slowing the spread of cove it nineteen and and some other areas are taking pretty significant measures that we have not yet taken here in the United States one of which being the the UK government announcing that they're going to pay for people's sick leave from day one if they self quarantine image can you imagine every single taxpayer being on the hook for everybody's staying home from work in a two week or more self quarantine one one of the things I think said and we're receiving regular updates Dr sale team is doing a tremendous job N. ambassador Burke of leading the effort working with the vice president who is handling this they are very thoughtful they are getting information to us they are transferring information to your state and local health authorities and I certainly believe that the reason you have seen a slower spread here in the U. S. then you have in other countries it is because of the actions the president took immediately on restricting travel from China the restrictions have since placed on Italy and on South Korea analysts say also the actions that are being taken by many companies I know many companies are now placing our travel restrictions on individuals until we know more about the incubation time the covet nineteen and on the the symptoms how long the disease last things of that nature some people are are of the of the mindset senator Blackburn that the corona virus outbreak could have an effect on the the upcoming presidential election of the presidential nominating process though with with Bernie Sanders now out and he was or or at least seemingly mathematically out I don't wanna say these out loud but seemingly mathematically out it will I I would have thought he would have done better on super Tuesday as he is the man who is advocating for universal health care and that would be something that that some supporters of Bernie Sanders think would help when it comes to the outbreak of of the corona virus are are you surprised that or or are you concerned that the corona virus could have an effect on the process of electing our next president I I don't think that it will I think that knowing Tennesseans and I think many Americans are like them and they feel that our country three is when you look at the issues of security whether it is economic security national security border security and access to services like healthcare and making certain that we are addressing issues like the environment with clean air clean water that many of the stepsisters ministration have take has taken our steps in the right direction and they are pleased with that and people are going to go to the polls they are going to vote for Donald Trump it looks like it is said to senator Marsha Blackburn a Republican from Tennessee and I I wanted to kind of learn the last question here Fauria switch topics kind of a hard pivot here one of your colleague senator Marco Rubio left a video message on his Twitter page last night let me just play a portion of this you can see what he's advocating here and I'll get your reaction things

"Heartfelt version. About Kendrick Lamar considering his music is so different than yours. You know, I think that. DNA is what am I favor things off of his last album, and I've written about the same things. Whereas people have such contradictory elements inside of them. And like weakness, I talk about that in in since you put me down where it's the devil in the angel on each shoulder. Argue yourself, but I fell in love with it pimple. Butterfly. And and just his his overall outlook on things, and you know, he's not afraid to to speak out and speak the truth. And even when it's hard and people criticize them, I really admire him. So you've said that your parents were afraid that they weren't sure how it would finally work out. So it's working out. Really good. But they didn't know that at the time. You have a song called weekender, which is about spending the weekend in the county jail. Did that happen to you? Did. Yeah. That was one of the one of the lowest points. I I feel like I'd been running wild for quite some time, and is really only. Matter of time before it was all going to catch up with me and came home one night after staying in a friends, and I tried to call a cab and the Cavs incomes kind of before Uber and lift were really in cities. And I just made some I I shouldn't have driven. I thought I was fine. I I gave it time. I ate some food. I waited a long time. But I ended up hitting a telephone pole front of a couple police officers and then thought about outrunning them for a little bit. And then I realized that wasn't possible. So I finally pulled over and. Walk the line. And yeah, I got a good lawyer. But I've still still had to go do this weekend in jail. And he told me he's like, oh, it's just it's a white collar thing. It's not gonna be a big deal. It's really not going to be scary. And when I showed up at Davidson county jail, I realized that I was in there with people who had murdered people and and done some really bad things and just being in. There was I hope inning experience in more than one weighs more than just, you know, for self motivation to get better and never end up back there again. But it was also it was just sad to see women who were in that situation and whose lives had had taken them there. Can you do lack of worship weekender? Yeah..

"The Clemson hall of fame Davidson County Hall of fame and the Winnipeg hall of fame periods, a noted author speaker and leadership coach glad say that joining me on the ninety four five WGTK dancer, gasline, Mr Perry. Tuttle a thanks so much for spending a few minutes of your afternoon with us. In just a few hours, the young man who make up this year's Clemson Tigers football team. They're gonna be taking the filled with another opportunity to pick up another national championship. This would be number three as someone who's experienced this firsthand. What's going on in these young man's mind right now? So prepared for this game. Oh, man. What a great question. You think about the scene in locker room is crazy. They intimidate not only, you know, with happened back at home in Clemson on campus with our friends, and they're they're classmates, but also thinking about, you know, their families are coming to watch them Ryan west coast, and it's an incredible scene as a credible feeling and to most people surprise a really really nervous about just the first play. What's the? A first place going to feel like and be like and and once the first place, especially whether you own defensive offense. And whoever gets the corn tossed will give the the advantage of. Okay, now, it's just a regular game. So basically after that I play you kinda settle in. And you just kind of get into the game, then and you kind of forget that the crowds even there. Right. You forget about your parents forget about the, you know, the whole crowd and knowing that even though they know that it's a big game. In every snap matters. It becomes a game. It becomes what you've been prepared for. And and after the first hit after the first cats, the I throw the first tackle. Now you start to settle in on. What have we been practiced to do and the playbook the playbook now comes into play of? Okay. This is just a regular game. Let's go play it right back in January of nine. Eighteen eighty two Perry when and how did you learn that you are going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated? Well, yeah, I didn't know I left right after the game against the Brassica. Jeff Davis, my college roommate he went a different direction, I went to the hula bowl. And and why that's the invitation where, you know, college players get you invite certain all star games, and I was invited to the hula bowl and about three about two or three days into I was actually on the beach in a why and and and and by the way, I don't think very few black guys need to be laying on the beach, by the way. But that's what I was going. Yes. And and and I was laying there and my buddy, Marcus Allen. If you remember Mark zero German at the time was playing who's just finishing his career with Southern Cal. And how out that I was on a cover, Marcus. I was laying down, and he took that magazine and threw it on my chest. And what he said to me, what do said to me was you know, he's so used to uncover Sports Illustrated. Right. And but he said a country bunking like you total on the cover Sports Illustrated. I saw I saw this picture. Right. And of course, that was back in the day when you didn't have any cell phone. So it wasn't where I can just pick up the cell phone. Call my mom or my family, or so I I got up and scream, and I wouldn't run into my hotel room and picked up the phone call collect to my mom and soon as she picked up, right? She started screaming, I sorted screaming. We was because they knew before I did. Oh, yeah. And it was but that's how found out. Yeah..

"Is Bill to big podcast. I'm Hooper couple of days ago. I talked about how much mail I'm getting for the transit vote. Coming on may first to Nashville, Tennessee got another one yesterday and I wanna read this to you. I won't tell you how this can relate to your podcast. Here's will. The flyer says, this is no matter how you get there as a picture of a car, a bike, a bus, and a thumbs up like the guys hitchhiking make a plan to vote for transit on may first two days ago talked about the plan to vote against transit, shows you how you can modify that plan to get people to subscribe your podcast. This is a different plan, but this is also something you can modify to get people to listen to your podcast. Here's what it says. This is election day is may first polls are open seven AM to seven PM. What time are you going to vote? You fill that in, how are you going to get to the polls and you fill that in? Who are you bringing with? You fill that in what type of ID are you going to bring you had a choice Tennessee. Driver's license, US, passport US, military ID, Tennessee department of safety, photo, ID or Tennessee handgun carry permit. You must present an idea with your name and photograph to vote. These photo I d.'s may be expired in less. You're voting in Davidson county for the first time. So think about what you're doing here saying election day may I, it says the polls are open seven AM to seven. PM the equivalent of that is telling you when and where you can get the podcast. What time are you going to vote the way I would modify that do it now before you forget to apple podcast, Google play music. And then I would tell people what to search for search for build a big podcast and the reasons specific with that. Because if you search for big podcast, you search for podcast who knows if I'm going to come up, be specific with what you want people to search for, then be specific about what you want them to do. After that, I'll say, hit the subscribe button. You tell them why that way you'll never miss. An episode. Who are you bringing with you? We do that all the time. I talked about this a couple of days ago. You have somebody tell to friends and tell them exactly the hyper friends that you're looking to subscribe to your podcast. So for example, if you've got friends who are podcasters, they want to make more money with their podcasts spread their messages with their podcast, and that people listen to the podcast, they need build a big podcast till two friends about Bill a big podcast, and you can combine it with what did you said do it now before you forget get on your email, email to friends who are podcasters and tell them to subscribe to build a big podcast via apple podcasts or Google play music. So that's how it's done. Come up with a plan to get people to subscribe your podcast. Don't just say, subscribe, give him the plan, let him know where to go. Let them know what search for how to do it, be very, very specific. The more specific you are the more subscribers you will get. Thank you very much. We listening to build a podcast what you're not subscribed. Take my advice go to apple podcast, Google. Play music, do it now before you forget, search for Bill big podcast hit subscribe, and you'll never miss an episode. Thanks for listening to build a new podcast. See you tomorrow.
