"The continuity you want with the number one group in on the team that needs that continuity and work together in terms of slide protections blitz. Pick up those type of things so it just takes one hit. It just takes one hit on aaron rodgers and all of a sudden. He's out to three games. Danny yeah i mean to point think about this bahktiar out for six games. That means for thirty percent of their season. Six game seventeen seventeen total games. They're gonna have essentially three new starters on an offensive line. That was one of the best and football last year. Now look at their schedule. Saints dominant defensive line. Forty niners dominant defensive. Pittsburgh dominant defensive line. The bears dominant so four out of their six games. They're playing dominant defensive. Lines with three new starters position. Wise elkin jenkins sounds like it's going to kick out the left tackle. He's going to be good but he's not david yari. And then they're gonna have to rookies likely replacing some of those other missing pieces. Josh meyers at draft pick. Royce newman a draft. Pick so two rookies for six games of this season. Have to go into not play play well. And that's the biggest one of the sneaky est questions going into the season who's going to be there. Starting five in either way back theory comes back. How well does he play and get used to things and they're still going to be dependent on youth. The last point the last team. I remembered that how dominated off went on a deep playoff run and then had this type of turnover from one season to the rams out to. They went to the super bowl. Miss the playoffs the following year because their offense of line was at nearly as good. Mike how come you're telling everyone. As aaron would say to ari. lax. Because not only is he quick footed. He's quick minded greeny. And because he get the ball so fast he could overcome the deficiencies. That teddy and dan alluded to so by. No means is ideal. I do think. Josh meyers can replace corey. Lansley but aaron rodgers ability. Get rid of the ball quickly. Nowhere to go and because he has short area quickness it's not feel but they could survive this but no doubt about to replace two or three offense lineman in any one season is very difficult. I we'll keep a close eye on this again. Sneaky big and potentially bad news in green bay. Let me break quickly.

"Make him point. Green bay left tackle. David bahktiar is going to begin the season on the pup list so that's at least six weeks for their left tackle okay. Aaron rodgers struggled without bacteria last year. Listen this four games in the regular season only thirty five points against houston twenty-seven against minnesota only thirty six against san francisco and only thirty three fantasy when he only threw fifteen touchdowns in the four games that he played without left tackle. David bacteria through those four games. Houston defense yeah. Houston minnesota san francisco chicago and seventeen threw four touchdowns two postseason games though against the rams and the bucks i think he scored twenty nine or more fantasy points in both of them. They'll be okay but it's not good. Yeah i it all seriousness. I mean they are gonna have to rookie starting on their offensive line and no left tackle. Well i think the started left tackle. But no david Yari for the first. At least suk slots relate to have some security left tackle and center and they're both know washington released peyton barber. Someone told me to go. Add justin jefferson on twitter. These saints released devante freeman joe. Judge did did not commit to evan. Ingram being ready for week. One or saquon barkley. They're gonna make a decision next week. Okay saw another stink. Kenny golladay practicing individual drills for the first time since he got her so array trae lance. It's going to miss about a week with a chip in his finger. Supposed to have hold on. We have a chip on your shoulder. Minnesota acquired chris herndon from the jets tight. End chris herndon time. It's finally time and tyler. Caughlin return to practice any interest in a vikings tight end here. That's not irv smith. How 'bout in our in our salary cap drive. Dave was down early to his dollar bids so he was trying to get anybody that he can get. You know that makes him so. He picked up herb smith and then the trade happened in the middle of the mock draft mill the this hour gap and and tommy chan one of our hosts sports. Chris chris earned dollar. I think the most interesting. I'm going to be in anyone involved in the situation as tyler kroft. What about tyler conklin. I think i'm more interested in either crossed the tether. Conklin okay so tyler constantly with these guys are relevant is the first out for the season. This isn't going to hurt her smith when he gets back you right. Kris analysts herndon his that tied. We saw a rookie. But if your taste. And that's the i was more worried. I don't know when they're doing the surgery. I was more worried. This was representative of their fear. That maybe irv smith wasn't coming back. I think they wanted to get ahead on. Not having to go through a waiver process on chris harden because he was gonna get cut philadelphia. We have travis fulham and houston is going to go our bbc running back by committee which we pretty much already knew so that the other topic bbs back. I suck k. Could've been a lot of things you. Let's update our position previews so as i build this earlier. Jamie as you're walking down the street someone recognizes you and says. Hey jamie you got two minutes. How do i drive quarterback and also want to know what has changed if anything since we did. This preview several weeks ago. These position previews we did them in early august. So let's start with with quarterback jamie. Gimme your overview on how to draft quarterback. I think if you're so inclined to buy into one of the top six guys You should make it a priority for yourself but don't reach so.

"Not at all. So that's the issue with the packers right now. That's why. I understand why the packers are hesitant on this right. And i've heard a lot of people. Say like whoa. That's just what happens. Like for example the packers. They just paid david bahktiar. They just made him the highest paid left tackle. Why can't they do that for wide receiver. Well some deals are easier to negotiate than others for example negotiating. The david yari. I think is an easy negotiation. Why do i say that because laremy tunsil at one point was the highest paid left tackle in the nfl. So basically what you're doing and that negotiation is okay. you're saying tonsil is at twenty two million per year. And i'm gonna give more because i'm a little bit better than he is. And that's so contract reset the market. But not in agreeance way and tackles are so valued that compares to the salary cap paying a guy an average of twenty three million bucks as they're paying. David bahktiar is not a huge. You need a really good left tackle. That is really good value. But all they had to do was pay him. One million more than what. The second best left tackle was getting paid in laremy. Tunsil that hopkins thing complicated everything. It makes the rest of these receivers. Just it just screws it all up because we're talking about a five million dollar gap between hopkins and everyone else. I mean hopkins's droid but he's not that much better than everyone else. So if on the packers. I'm sitting here thinking okay so adams yeah i think. He's better than hopkins. But i think that contract is ludicrous. Do i have to suffer now because the cardinals were so desperate. Daddy andre hopkins last season from a financial standpoint. No not at all. So that's why understand where the packers are with this whole negotiation thing and i get it for devante atoms to davonte adams's sitting there saying hey it's not my fault. The cardinals were stupid and gave this guy. Twenty seven million. That's not my fault. But guess what they did it. So i'm gonna want twenty eight million and guess what a team out there will give him twenty eight million. It's just not going to be the packers. This is the gsm. Soon sports podcast. "Yeah that was royal. Saint george's where where they just played in fact. I think we had him in studio after he won the on this date. In nineteen seventy-three wilbur. Wood started and lost both games of a doubleheader. He lost twelve to two and seven. Nothing wilbur. wood started both ends of a doubleheader. Both ends and i think at the time they had the Pinstripes with the read. Their white uniforms red pinstripe and that was when dick allen was on the on the team. The white sox Let me see. Get a couple. More phone calls alex wisconsin. Hi alex what's on your mind today. Five time warner. Eighty so with game six of the finals being milwaukee tonight and rogers having a stake in the team i gotta think you might be making an appearance. Um you think that the packers released the contract information before the game to have a little battle for wisconsin sports parts. I don't know but that could be the call the week there. Alex call back tomorrow and take a victory lap if that were to happen. I don't think this is from the packers. I this feels now it. Does it make it. Seem like the packers tried to keep him. But i don't think that's been a secret. They've tried to keep they wanna keep him. They were going to extend his contract making the highest paid player in the nfl. I can't imagine aaron rodgers showing up tonight sitting next to david Yari chugging beers. It'd be great. But if he shows up wearing a broncos out like that you know then then. I think we got an idea of how this is going to work out with those fans. It's not venison section. We'll just rush him. Brian south carolina. Hi brian what's on your mind. I was just gonna say being down here in south carolina. We have probably too many ohio. Transfers down here and Working in the bar industry. I ran into a four workers off from cincinnati and after a night. Playing drinking games Yeah they were like. We're gonna eat some skyline chili. I've heard you talk about this stuff and that a At six foot two forty-three Anything with cream cheeses. Pretty good and and i found it to be a little bit better than my stepfamily from detroit. Always putting peanut butter in there. Chilly so i don't know thank you. Thank you Skyline chilly is not really chilly. It's just a topping a little. I think that brings on heightened expectations like man skyline chili. Like you think they got a big hot chili there and it's going to be so great. Get those crackers in there and then you realize that it's not exactly showing it's just a little topping. Let's go around the room. What we learned on the program toddle start with you. Big time athletes endorsing products are more than ever looking for a piece of the company either promoting as opposed to just a paycheck for doing the commercials. Yeah this is where shock is making his money. He's like you don't pay me. Just give me a piece of the company. Seton o'connor according to john berry. John smoltz super competitive. Yeah i i've been around. John and he seems mild-mannered. But i guess that ping-pong he was very competitive when he came in studio and i know he is golf and hall of fame baseball player. Paul nineteen-year-old kobe bryant used to watch michael jordan interviews. Todd wooded. I learned john. Barry thanks to center not a fractured team. They're confident and will likely win. The whole thing if they could get past milwaukee tonight wasn't my voice..

"No one cares about the books milwaukee right down the all wanna know air coming back. That's all everybody wants to know. Aaron rodgers coming back only action for you right now because you know when this finals does end. That's the only story that matters in milwaukee. Oh yeah and i. I think it was. Actually i mean especially now since the bucks beat the nets in the In the second round of the nba postseasons. Like the bucks have been very welcome distraction from the era roger saga and and the to almost converged. Yesterday there was some spurs and some talk that rodgers could potentially show up to last night's game. You're walkie. Rogers is a minority owner of the box and he has come to some postseason games. And we've seen some of his teammates most notably david yari who likes to choke beers once he gets on the jumbotron But i just don't at this point. I don't i don't see him coming back. Something has to change whether it's a contract whether it's i just don't see aaron rodgers being the type of pollution that after everything that's happened this offseason from mark murphy calling him and interesting fella to rogers talking going on sportscenter with kenny mayne talking about the culture and how those things need to change and maybe the organization doesn't care about the people was much more with with all these things that have been said. I just can't see him going guys. Forget everything that just happened. I'm pool. I'm coming back. I just. I don't see that happening right now. So right now. We're just kind of feels like they're playing a game of chicken less than two weeks away from you know veterans having a report to green bay for camp And my guess. I remember rogers. Being one of the more people i've ever come across And that's coming from someone who's pretty stubborn themselves I just don't see him coming back right now unless something changes so he can at least what he addresses the media. Point you yup. This was the issue. This is why. I'm coming back because this thing changed. The will unfortunately enjoy the finals while you can because you know that that storms come in and you'll be dealing with it for sure gave thanks so much for the time..

"And anyone else needing them. I'm very excited today to have a special guest someone. I've known for quite a number of years. David yari a formerly. Maybe some of the people listening this new him in in a former life as bar which he is the founding director general of the arizona israel trade investment office. David spent most of his current and high tech in his passionate about advancing community related. 'cause currently serves as chairman of the world confederation of united zionists of the world zionist organization is a director on the boards of karen. Kay emmett which is also known as the jewish national fund and the israeli society for international and israel's nature and heritage foundation david his wife's yvonne who is founder of innovation africa. I probably could do my another podcast. Just with her Which is a united nation member. Ngo moved to israel in two thousand nine. They reside in tel aviv with their three children. And david i love how you doing. I'm doing great and you don't. We don't usually talk about era zona on this podcast but it's It sounds very interesting to me. And i really want to share what you've been doing with my listeners. So let me get to my First question would have been active in politics finance business israel advocacy name. A few of the hats. You've worn how all of that experience lead you to be. The founding director general of the arizona israel trade and investment office will of all. I just want to say thanks for having me on and more importantly i've been a fan of what you've been doing and in a way It's very similar in in many respects. Would you've been doing is building bridges between The united states and even beyond and israel maybe through taxes but beyond taxes..

"The era rogers has told certain members of the organization that he does not want to return to the green bay. Packers has every right to one out of green bay a want nothing more than to see him back packer uniform. Just kind of about philosophy. It's about it's about culture doing things right wet. Football is a team sport but right now this one on one battle if he misses the mandatory many the packers confined him up and ninety. Three thousand dollars. You expect him to be here. It is mandatory. Yeah i. I don't know we'll see tuesday. Tuesday is here and there was no sign of aaron rodgers at packers mandatory. Ot age looking at them right. Now we're less than two minutes away from a live report out of green bay with all the latest. We'll also be live with the cowboys. Dak prescott just nine months removed from breaking. His ankle was back on the field with his teammates. Find out what. His head coach had to say about his progress and the chance back on the field. Tom brady rehabbing from an injury of his own. He's on the field is let it rip out there today. Sal paolantonio with bruce arians to talk about the quarterbacks progress brady full go the first day of bucks many camp because of course he was forty three is apparently the new twenty three also coming later in the show. The reason why the cowboys offense is all about dak now and no longer about zeke welcome. Nfl live everybody. Seemed right here. Adam schefter tim hasselbeck and ryan clark with you for the hour. Let's roll right into green bay. My friends that's where all eyes are right now. And you're looking at video from packers mandatory many today. You're also not looking at aaron rodgers. Because of course he's not there that did not stop the rest of his team from being asked about the quarterback including head. Coach matt lafleur. I'm not gonna get into my conversations with aaron in the communication and I think you know Actually optimistic but You know again. We'll take a day by day and just do whatever we can to help remedy this situation. Honestly i got no expectations man. I'm just you know being supportive of my god Let it all unfold. how does obviously. I'm i'm praying that he comes back. We all want him back. Everybody needs to stop thinking about everything and everybody needs to understand. Mind each other's business and we play with eleven. We have in the bill. Whatever he wants to do. Whatever the situation that comes out. I will never hold any graduates That is my friend that someone that i have appreciated in. He has done a lot for this organization and for me as an individual. Now as a teammate. I would be idiotic to say that i don't want the mvp back. Well there you go and our daily report now from rob demovsky been all over this aaron rodgers three all offseason rod. The big june eighth date is upon us. No sign of rogers. What's the mood around facility today. Laura it's really become the new normal around here another open practice and another day that aaron rodgers is in here. the interesting thing today is that it is mandatory. As you said now. I ask coach matt floor if he's going to excuse him or if he's going to find him. Of course you heard. Adam schefter report that in the last couple of days that they could excuse them in. The floor would not say whether this was going to be considered an excused absence or a final one but it was interesting to note. The two of the guys we spoke with today are two of rogers closest friends on this team. You heard david bahktiar and davante adams. I asked david yari. If he thought aaron rodgers would ever play for the packers again and he said i have just as much of an idea as anybody else does which essentially means he has no idea and as for davante adams he was asked whether he would eventually get frustrated. That one of the great quarterbacks if not the greatest in the league wouldn't show and it would let them down and he said. I would stand on a mountain a bleeping mountain and say that. I've got my quarterbacks back. So at this point laura. The players are all behind rogers. They'd obviously loved to have back. But they're not gonna hold any grudges until he gets what he wants if he ever gets that from the packers and of course some of those players did hold out when it wasn't mandatory but now to make financial sense for them to continue to hold out more rob coming later on in the show the next state to keep an eye on by the way july twenty seventh. That's when the packers are scheduled to report to training camp. Let's get adam schefter and here. He broke the news on draft night back. In april roger wanted out. Adam has rogers stance softened at all now that. Ota's have started without him not in the slightest bit. Laura in fact yesterday. I was told he is quote unquote strong as l. in his stance and again. Let's just let the facts tell the story. He did not attain. Ota's foregoing a half million dollars workout bonus for the first on in his career. This is the very first time in his career that he's missed a mandatory minicamp which subjects him to ninety three thousand dollar five. The packers can wait and then you heard his closest friends on the team today so they have no idea if and when he'll be back well he's not there and they don't know if he's coming there and the packers organization has been meeting with him for five months now trying to persuade them to come back and he's still not any closer to be back any still mad as hell. Then what does that tell you it tells you that the green bay packers need to start preparing for life without aaron rogers and it was explained to me this way. Also that aaron rodgers if he were to come in if you were to come in and elevate this franchise the way he has throughout his career and winning mvp and they win games and championships and titles and all those things guess what that shines a light on all the people that he does not want to shine a light on. He doesn't want them to look any better than they have. When these relationships have been what they've been so there are a whole host of factors but if we just sliced through it all and look at the facts the facts tell us that the green bay packers have any major problem on their hands. Adam with us until five pm. We've known this whole time are see. This is not a money thing. It's not a football thing necessarily. It's personal so as you hear adams point there about if aaron rodgers shows up in plays and and makes this packers front office look good. That's not what he wants at all. How does that make you feel about this entire conversation. I mean been sitting from the beginning that this was personal. That it about business in depending on how you look at things how you feel about things you can either feel that. Aaron rodgers is in the right or aaron rodgers is on the side of wrong because he's not upholding to what his contract says. He's supposed to do bert based on personal feelings. But that's why when you as david bakaray adams they expect aaron rodgers to do. They have no clue because this is based in emotion. This is based on what you feel. This is no longer about an organization and its hall of fame quarterback. This is about a couple's dispute and you know what happens couples disputes. It doesn't matter what the facts say. It doesn't matter necessarily who's wrong or who's right in matters about what people feel and what aaron rodgers feels. He's been done wrong by the individuals that are for the green bay packers. He's separated that from the organization and so there's no telling where those emotions will take him or win. Those emotions will subside. So if you're the green bay packers you have to know that you're in a whole heap trouble. You better be getting ready to play without aaron rodgers. Listen i said you're right on the money that it's personal. I think it's interesting. You know adams nugget there about you know being explained to him in a way that you know erin comes back in. The team has success. Then you know it was basically the shine light and give credit to people that aaron.

"Eleven man. No no no but my point is incredible. That is incredible. My point is that's prime aaron rodgers and even then he. He dropped several percent the next year. You're just not keeping that level of touchdown positively and if he's up there at five or six percent above the nfl average which i would expect he still going to end up amid quarterback one. He doesn't have the same rushing volume the rushing touchdowns that these other top fantasy option. I mean look at them. The last two years prior right. He played sixteen games both years. Who's the quarterback seven quarterback ten. That's that's his ranch. If you're looking for red flag very rogers the efficiency numbers and the offensive line. They've lost their all pro center. I know what lindsay went to the chargers. And you know you're not going to have David yari back for week one because he missed a towards acl any missed six games including the playoffs so you could have a shaky offensive line situation to begin the year especially if they're gelling new players on the offensive line so a little bit of regression there i feel like he still going to drop address further than maybe he should so he's on night. He's on the list for me. Yeah i'd be very happy with roger's if i could get him a little bit later next one's russell wilson and then number eight is jalen hurts. Yeah let's go jay. I'm just kidding. I just didn't wanna talk about russell wilson. Oh i thought you wouldn't even skip russell. Wilson don't whatever russell wilson let's get to the hotness talking about jalen hurts all right russ finished a cube six last year forty touchdowns thirteen picks. What does this off. It's going to be. I feel like we're going to spend the entire. Offseason speculating on its past. Run ratios and you know. Was this the most disappointing. Forty touchdown season for a quarterback in history has to be. I mean sixteen different quarterbacks in history of thrown for forty four passing touchdowns and he had the fewest passing yards per game lowest yards per completion in most sacks taken among that group. Yeah i mean and it was the tale of two halves the first of the year if you drafted Russell wilson you were literally number one in your league. Because he was unstoppable and then they they changed up the grand box they ran the ball more and he played worse. Like it wasn't just playcalling. He was started. Turn the ball over yet throw interceptions in completes he. He looked bad the second half of the year number one inconsistency for the first half eighteen in the second half on the the funny thing is if you go back the last several years now he's been bad for consistency overall You know it. It's one of those things where You know career wise obviously as consistent as it gets. I don't think it's been since two thousand thirteen since he hasn't finished as a top ten quarterback but on a weekly basis. It's it's plan with fire with. Russ he's a quarterback that i am not excited to have on my ross. Now when you could have jalen hurts exactly ebbe be somebody with just a long track. Record of spectacular. Play much better than russell. Jalen hurts all right. All right we talked about jalen hurts this offseason. i haven't met twelve. You guys both have them at seven. I thought i was being nice. Twelve getting them into my top twelve. Qb one you. Being hater it hurts. I mean we've seen very little of jalen hurts. And i know he's he made it. He made his mark. We've had these arguments these discussions first game out. It was great. Gangbusters wasn't a great passer. What's the rushing totals really going to be. They went down every game that he played. So what's the truth. i don't know the truth. I'd rather have all these other guys over. Jalen hurts and where. I think that this team's going new head coach. No offensive coordinator. Who were the weapons. Are they going to draft another quarterback so the question marks have him down at twelve and if it you know we say water on this show right we want to change our opinions as new information comes and if he becomes more secure and the team looks like it's a little bit better shape than me no lines great then maybe his ranking changes for me. The the weapons on the team are his left and right lake. That's right there. The west to the absolutely last year once he took over on pace for a one hundred and eighty four rushing attempts. Almost eleven hundred rushing yards twelve rushing touchdowns. That's that's all i need to hear about. That's all i cared about you. Give me some Some passing work on top of that to put a little cherry on the top. Then he's he's gonna be great if you're if i mean. There's just not a lot of quarterbacks. In the history of the game that can reach thousand rushing yards. That's not say he will But you know. I if you if he's eight hundred plus rushing yards. He's going to be a quarterback one. There's just no way that that doesn't happen. obviously we've got to get through the nfl draft. Make sure that you know. A quarterback didn't fall there that replaced him but they could. They could walk away here with jalen waddell or monty smith and add to his capabilities. Yeah and i just don't know what it is yet. So i'm taking a more reserved approach with with Mister hurts just herbert. At nine and ryan tannehill at tin. I have herbert at eight. Jason hasn't nine mike at eleven. He's got a new head coach new office coordinator as well. No hunter henry this year. Are you expecting a sophomore slump from justin herbert mike not a slump. But there's just. There's enough things that have changed with justin herbert for me to not just say up breaking the re broke the rookie record for touchdowns. Just herbert is. He's locked and he's going to be a top Top ten quarterback. So i m just on the outside of that as with all the variables of coaching changing and the team getting better Have on the defensive side of the ball. Lowering your your point outputs. If you don't have to catch up. So i just. I have a couple of spots behind you guys. Last year. he was game script. Proof according to this dot com and sixty six percent of his passes whether this situation was leading tied or trailing has weapons. You know ekeler keenan allen and company. I do like it. They're fixing the line. I think they're in a tough division. You know it's one of those things where i think they're still going to be a pretty bad team record wise regardless of them. Maybe fixing the defense. It's been a while since during james has been out there. You know it's nice to say okay. You get these weapons back. But there's nothing to say that he's going to be the same player or these other guys are going to be able to stop patrick mahomes and you know tough division. So i like justin herbert but i think is going to be more of the same which is probably eight nine ten range. Yeah i i mean what you saw at. The very end of the season wasn't as great as the beginning. The last six games. He was outside the top twelve quarterbacks in points per game basis and which is fine for a rookie. He was unbelievable. And i think he passed. Everybody's eyeball tests. He's legit. He's a great quarterback. He's going to succeed. I think he's going to be one of the more polarizing players and fantasy because people wanna project does he take that massive step forward in which case like i've been on other shows where he is the guy that's taking that lamar jackson leaves forward. He's taking the cuyler. The josh allen leap forward and i can i can. I can see that path. I don't believe that path happens..

"That's what it opened up and that's where it was. It was a plus seven earlier in the week. But it's come down to plus six and a half. But i still like them and the reason why brandon is you take a look at this number one offense which by all by standard. Is you know the top's efficiency joining a yards per play. They're fantastic on her. Best in the league Rogers is playing at a at a. You know an all star and mvp level having said that this rams defense is amazing. It's you know in terms of their their pressure. Rate having their own erin on their side right is he's he's a force to be reckoned with. Aaron donald he says he feels healthy. I'm gonna take his word for it. He's not someone that. I want to call a liar on air. He's a massive human being but he is going to fall. I even just being in. There is going to make sure that the green bay packers line is focused on him and this secondary right. It's the number one offense against the number one is Number one secondary in the nfl. Just i just take a look at that in terms of the efficiency ratings. And i'm gonna side to say that this is going to be a closer game and we've seen rogers get flustered against good defense the defenses before last year right. It was san francisco when they had a healthy defense this year. The only game that we've really seen a blemish on aaron rodgers record is against tampa bay where you went sixteen to thirty five with sooner sanctions and the packers only put up ten points. So it's not necessarily rogers in atoms. That i don't have a good game but i also wanna worried about to get to this line for green bay or citing on. That is what is the. Mvs gonna do right. What is robert talion gonna do. Those matchups aren't aren't gonna be exploitable because we know right. We know that they have some deficiencies on their second and third pass. Catchers has as sort of covered that In terms of of what is he's able to do but i just look at this as a much closer game. Three three and a half is probably where i thought the line should be but i think the defense is getting a little bit disrespected. How well they played in david yari. Being in carrying his acl and practice he's the highest paid offensive. Linemen an nfl his him. Not being in there. I think he's gonna play a big difference as well and with tyron. Smith hurt this year in backyard's all pro anyway. But i will tell you the backyard. He's been the best left tackle in football. Maybe focusing and broncos country would argue for garrett bowles even though get didn't make him does make second team all pro. What are you jump about. The is done it for for years and years and obviously plenty of folks listening to this podcast that watch the play at colorado. That have plenty of love and her bummed bummed to see him hurt. Especially at this time of the year. I was bummed. That jared bell dear former bronco ended up with covid and wasn't going to play for two different teams in two in back to back weekends in in the same playoff. Aussie whatever. this nasi playoff season. I guess is what you call it. I pulled the weather report up snow tonight. It's thirty eight and rainy there right now. In green bay's. We're taping this in the middle of the day on friday snow friday night. Low of thirty three chances..

"Rick tittle beats his servants. Welcome back to the show lands available one eight hundred eight seven eight play. Let's start with the last eight. The elite eight the final four games. The first one tomorrow will be the rams tenants and six at lambeau thirteen and three on fox of events of the thump of Well no team scored more points in the regular season than the green bay. Packers now team played better defense than the los angeles rams very intriguing showdown. Y'all strength versus strength. Aaron rodgers is going to be the mvp you can look at a guy like aaron donald on the other side sean. Mcvay the rams coach said quote. This is what you love these type of matchups and opportunities that as a competitor can't wait for well. What about when the rams offense goes against the packers defense the packers. By the way. I have won six games in a row and Only one time all year did they score less than twenty. Two points at la. Get here. well they sacked russell wilson five times he threw a pick six and they had that improbable. Victory up there in seattle and Rogers aaron rodgers said quote. They went to seattle played familiar opponent and played really really well and they're coming in with the confidence that they should have. And we're coming in with confidence as well this season that we've had and what we believe were capable of the way you think about. All the aaron rodgers played. This was a on of his best years if not his best ever. And you think about all the great quarterbacks that have been there star far of and himself he set the franchise single season record for touchdown passes with forty eight single season franchise record for completion percentage. He was at seven seven only five picks and offense at scored thirty two points per game. Aaron donald said rogers is quote. Ray quarterback that is playing lights out this year. Yes well aaron. Donald points out that it's not just me. He goes at any point. It could be somebody else on this defense. And he's right by the way. This is the first time ever that. The top offense and the best defense has faced off outside of that new england atlanta's super bowl that was when the patriots had the best defense. In the falcons had the best offense but also be thinking about this. I find it hard to believe. The rams have never played a playoff game at lambeau very interesting when they played before Back in the day in green bay they actually played in milwaukee which is what the packers would do now and then. But here's the thing about John wolford started the game a quarterback. He had a stinger. So that means jared goff is back less than three weeks from thumb surgery but you know pay attention early because green bay has outscored opponents by almost one hundred fifty points in the first half this season especially in the second quarter they have outscored opponents by one hundred and ninety nine points in the second quarter. It's the fourth quarter that the packers get outscored unusually because they have big leads. But think about this. this is a ridiculous statistic. Listen to this since mcveigh's been coach for four years when the rams lead at halftime there are thirty seven and oh that is ridiculous. All the things that can go wrong all the miss injuries mistakes but think about the other team okay. We saw that. Were gonna adjust. It doesn't matter so the packers are not gonna how david yari. We already knew that. He was out for the season on new year's eve but they did have a by. We wondered about aaron donald. Who of course had to leave the game with a rib injury last week. He said that i'm good. I'll be strong i'm fan. I'm fine Fine fans think about fans. This'll be the first home game. This season that lambeau will have some fans. Six thousand five hundred will be allowed in to give them a little bit of extra. Aumf whom i picking taking the green bay packers in this one as you are too. Don't lie. rick really looked rooms. The next game tomorrow will be ravens at bill. Ravens lebanon and five bills. Thirteen and three John harbaugh has been raving about josh allen Just he says he came up john and talking and pushing shoving and he's such a great guy. Love this guy. He's this type of guy that's fine but remember. The quarterback was an allen was rookie and then they after the the started to suck they put him in allah nate peterman. Yes so harbaugh said about the bills. They've come up on the quote unquote other side of the tracks and they have from a football perspective. They came up the hard way and they were doubted often had to overcome that too. I always like the underdog. Remember the bills traded up from twelve seventy two years ago to get alan and there are a lot of people who said he wasn't even that accurate at wyoming. Jackson was the last pick in that draft in the first round. Anyway heisman heisman trophy winner and then three seasons later. They're both coming off their first playoff victories and they're both one victory shy from getting to the afc championship game. Jackson obviously made his splash Last year he led the nfl. Thirty six touchdown passes and then you add in. What did he have. Seven more rushing touchdowns as well But you know. Jackson was a guy who was and two in the playoffs till they beat tennessee last year. And that was you know they were down ten nothing on the road. That's no no small feat. Stop henry and that gang. Jackson said we know how feels to be hyped up and we know how it feels to be lowest point or focused on buffalo. And we're trying not to let the outside noise or anything like that distract this allen by the way went from pretty good to becoming star this year. He said many franchise records passing guys like ferguson and obviously The guy who went to four straight super bowls as well. Jim kelly He was fourth in the nfl. And completion percentage sixty nine point two He'll get a couple of mvp votes if you want. Maybe something like that. But he spent three years being groomed by brian. Cabell and talent brought in by brandon beane and the most significant addition was defined exit traded their first round pick for him and man. Oh man as he paid off leading the nfl and receptions so Baltimore basically has been playing Win or go home for the better part of two months. You know in.

"Is. It's Trump is like. SANCTIONING WHITE COPS killing black people or black criminals are black woman you send out there's arms hang on. He's the president. He's one guy he's been there for three and a half years more black people got killed by cops in the eight years. Obama was president by COPS BY WHITE COPS is that true? Is that yes. Is that because the the amount of people that are getting killed by cops black people that are getting killed by cops. Is, going down and people in cops are more likely not to be aggressive against black people because of the culture we live in right now but Toyota's is are all those people getting killed by cops. Locally in the community anymore Obama's fault than it is trump's fault. He's the president when you when you have police, he doesn't run the police force in Minneapolis absolutely, he doesn't. In any city guys I, got an however newsflash she didn't kill George Floyd. However. A race. We don't even know if Copperfield's foibles a racist that he was a bad guy. He was a bad guy. Yeah. What is your definition of racist? Just because of a stupid. Wife SCUMBAG COP. Who should have been on the police force kills a black guy. Doesn't make it racist it may be, but we don't know that for sure. Have you watched billion though he should rotten hell yes. A background of using horse. We know he uses force but just say without evidence that just because the guys black. I'm not saying he's not a racist I'm just saying we don't know yet if if it was racially motivated. Okay, we'll give you that but this conclusion is going to be that he is the conclusion is going to be that he is he's probably a racist and he falsely on top of murder who should get charged for a hate crime. Absolutely. But I'm just saying in general just because black people are getting killed by white cops and trump's president. Trump's fault and he's not condoning that. Set greatest a Castro that's that that see this is where we go into the semantics thing whatever that Republicans like to use. Yes. Everything was said there I agree you. I can't fucking for what you just said. However when you have a president of the United States with supported by the p gave him his a recommendation two days ago a dago the PBA. And the Border Patrol and the Border Patrol. And Ice No. Of course. He's he's the long order president abby absolutely, and that's and that's how you view it. Right. The difference business we're GONNA be starting a north. Authoritarian. Sort of fucking dictate shipment re- regime like trump wants to have which he does. Okay. When you continually say sang she had about well, maybe I should get a third term maybe this. But when you when you got and then you say his language was I don't remember hold on hold on I don't remember the exact words he said but when he was talking in front of all the cops right when. He said something to the effect of when you throw them in the car. Make sure don't be too nice with them or whatever that is approval from the president to fuck up people that you were arrested is not. I. Don't I don't take everything you don't but they do. and. I don't think people's well, I'll tell you you're making an excuse not. I didn't take I don't take Obama and Biden and Hillary for every literally everything they set Bama's famous. These, half the country, these fucked up republicans cling to their guns, the religion and God like a bunch of scare babies or didn't use the word fucking. Trump would've I'm just saying. Hey. I look a guy that's real. He he's got a bit of a sense of humor in people that can't take. You mean like trump and then A. Clinton with the the deplorables I, take that with a great shave. He, well, what she learned to play. David Yari, deplorables. And be I mean I. Don't know if it's intelligence or you just gotTa be enough where you got. You gotta think these are politicians. They are people they. They do have a sense of humor the Argon Kit around the are to say shits stupid. But to draw the line between trump condoning white cops killing black people in because he's in the White House. It's too much of a stretch for me if you. Can I say something David you know I love you. You Know I. Love You right. down. You know I love you. Over Yeah. Me and you live in a bubble and I know you listen to Larry Elder's you read and you you watch Fox. News, you live in this bubble where colleen is making a really good point you gotta get out of it and and when stuff happens like with the homelessness where we live and all that the way you react you refused to empathize. With anyone who disagrees with you you do it sometimes with me when I talk about feminism rose, I get it now. But when it comes to politics, you don't leave your bubble. You just won't and you are I. See you as an apologist trump you don't ever criticize anything that he does and I get it I get it. You like him you. You think you don't take him seriously which I always took seriously. Okay. Get me people. Look at that and I okay I don't like you know what I don't like a lot of what he says and how he does it. I like what he's doing how he does it maybe I don't like but I think I'm you know open minded enough or at least intelligent enough to know that I can decipher between what's real and what isn't, and if you can't I'm not gonNA have a lot of empathy for you like if you think that Hillary Clinton really thinks half the country is deplorable which many on the Republican side they feel that. Then you're euros in, but that's the stating because I absolutely you. Know I. into the audience just like she goes down south and she starts talking with a black accent how condescending and racist is that now? I agree. I. Think. He's just trying to get votes. He is. She is she is. He knows the same thing and Obama does the same thing. You ever see how he cranks up the black accent when he's in the south I know but the days. But he cranks up into the next level. To cranks up the cracker when he's not when he wants to be around cracker bill, he's the same all the time I'm not saying it's good or bad. I'm just saying they do things like that. Let me ask you something. If you had a daughter would you be okay with her being in the room at trump for an hour a. Of the politicians he's probably yes or no. I didn't ask you about the position I said about trump would you allow your daughter to be in a room with trump for now? But. He doesn't have a daughter. He has no children so he doesn't empathize with me saying, do you think in five women are lying? What's a? Member trump is president right now are twenty five women lying about his sexual advances. Twenty five way there's probably a portion who are. And there's. Some reality to it. Okay. If you if you save five thousand rape victims from rape and then you rape one person, what are you? You're a rapist. I don't know that that's a little that whole are your rapist or not..

"I think they have issues even with him. I think it's kind of been absolutely do because he's the only guy they have yeah in like I mean against Philli. They destroyed them in through the air but it's because phillies secondary's garbage but like the first three weeks you know we are Kinda like this. Packers offenses awful you know like they couldn't move the football because it's almost like you take Davante Adams away. They can't run the football whatsoever. Aaron Jones is averaging three and a half yards per carry combined through the last two or three games. I want to say it's just they can't run the football. They're they're really only option of moving. The football is through the air to Davante Adams or Aaron Rodgers running. If you take devante Adams out it's just I don't even know where to begin but I don't know I mean again. It's just for whatever reason Aaron Rodgers and at and T. stadium is a tough tough with quarterback to defend the one way to defend it is to get pressure on him but without giving him running lanes to escape from and that's all I wanNA talk about next. You Got Robert Quinn. You've got me Collins. You've got markets Lawrence. You're getting Antoine Woods back who isn't known for his pass rush but he is a clock a clog up in that defense align. The packers also have two very good tackles and Brian Blaga and David Backyard. Do you think the cowboys pass rush can have a game similar to what they had last last week against the saints or do you think they'll be a little bit more quiet throughout this game. I would be lying if I didn't say hey that I'm GONNA be watching David Yari against Oh wow Robert Robert Quinn. Why couldn't I think of his name I'm going to be watching that the entire game. I don't care about anything else on defense whatsoever he he really impressed me last week and David Bahktiar is probably the best left tackle in the NFL at this point consistently insistently. I mean obviously you guys like tyran. Smith who is is definitely up there but with the back injuries you can't really count on all all of the time to be that elite level not elite butcher best player in the position so I'm really interested to see what happens on the left side of that offense it's of line and then on the right side like you said they do add Balogh who is injured somewhat in this game so I am interested to see if they help out on that side quite a bit and still give him a double team help against demarcus Lawrence in this game on the interior on that. I'm really excited to see is is Maliki Collins going to be able to be left guard Elton Jenkins who is played really well for them so far he was a really good player coming out as a rookie cookie and then guys like Corey Lansley and Billy Turner. That's where you've got to make your money if you're going to be mulling collins so we'll see what happens I mean hopefully he's able to get a little bit of interior pressure because that is what kills good quarterbacks. Good quarterbacks can take care of pressure off of the edge by miss by escaping the the way that the position works when you're an ED's rusher you have escape routes. I mean you're able either if you go up. Er you're able to step up and step through as a quarterback or if you come down hill something intact Prescott has done really well in his first couple years as a quarterback is spin out of those pressures rushers. There's you have that ability to do that. You know where there's nowhere to go. If you get pressure up the middle and Aaron Rodgers literally probably the most yeah he's Houdini Yep Yep like he like you'll have any it's not even like the players to where you know. You're hitting your you're hitting him and then Asia spins out like you see Dak and Carson Wentz even make some of those places where God's got them wrapped up and he just spends out of it but you like you close does the pocket and you see him start dropping his eyes and like panicking and then he just bought a twenty five yard gain and you're like how does it even happen. Mike doesn't make any sense but that's that's one thing. They're going to have to be very very aware of in this game is not leaving him run lanes to get out of when they do bring pressure on third downs and you you have those you know edge guys. The Robber Quinn's who who rush of field a lot. He's gotTa you know they have to be aware that Robert Quinn rush plan is to get upfield and when was speed well that normally only leaves a little bit of a gap right there in the you know the be gaps on on the other side of the guard so you know that's just an issue that they are going to have to either you know make sure you have a spy on them. I don't know how you want to defend that but that's something that they're going to have to look at doing all right. We got to wrap this thing up. We're going to go through. We're going to give our predictions predictions. We're going to give her x factor players for this game. I we're GONNA start with Coles since he couldn't join us. He texted us it it in Kohl's prediction for this Sunday game cowboys cowboys packers at Mt. At and T. stadium he has the cowboys winning twenty three to twenty. He said he thinks that offense gets things going again and Dacca's has announced back game. The defense gets a big stop near the end of the game to secure the win. Don't know maternity unit now. What are you have is your prediction? Who Do you have is your x-factor and you have any big plays in this game that you think kind of turn the outcome so I have issues with this game because because I do think the cowboys should be able to run the football well against them? It's the receivers now I would. I love to be able to do this podcast on Thursday Friday and know a little bit more about Michael Gallup's health because I do believe that that is a huge huge aged deciding factor in halas games going to shake out in the passing game specifically but I think I'm going to have to go with a the lower scoring game in this one comparatively to what I've seen happening throughout the year so far I think it's going to be twenty two seventeen and I think that the Green Bay packers are going to be the cowboys this week in Jerry World World now. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing my hope is that the packers packers if the cowboys don't get home field advantage in the NFC that the packers do because I think at Lambeau in Lambo in December in a one to matchup hopefully the cowboys are going to be able to impose their will in the running game and they will not not be able to throw the football against the cowboys. I would rather face them inland low in December men at home because I think our runs a rushing attack attack is that much better than what they're able to give us so packers win this game and I don't necessarily think that that's a bad thing interesting. Take I know super on fake but that's how I feel. I hope the cowboys went ever game no for sure I think the cowboys won this one thirty twenty six. I think the offense gets back on track. I think that they realize and I think it's going to be Jerry Jones driven. I think think Jerry is GONNA put his foot down and go. We're not turning to Scotland a hand to lose this season like we've done in the past. We are going to live and die by the pass. I don't care if it says we need to run. We're going to be smart but if we're not going to check in and out Iran's we are going to be an aggressive down the field passing attack weekend and week out. I think that that is going to be Jerry. Jones driven thing here. I think Jerry likes the offense he likes talk about how new and improved this offense look and I think he was very very disappointed in the performance from his offense last week and I think that's going to change. I think the cowboys thirty to twenty six on my ex factor factor player is going to be Xavier Woods. I think he comes through with his first interception of the game. Rogers has had a tendency to kind of turn. The ball turnovers turnovers are up by a lot but but he's thrown the ball to the defense more than he has in previous years. I think is gonNA come up with with with multiple turnovers. I think he's going to have an interception and then a fourth fumble as well on Aaron Rodgers and I think that's going to be different difference in the game. It's the cowboys capitalizing on those turnovers. He's having a good passing attack and being able to run the football a little bit as well. I think it's going to be a similar game to what the the packers did last week with philly where it was close on throughout most of the game and then the cowboys running attack just eventually takes over in the fourth quarter as much as that pains me to say I think that it could be a a situation where they are efficient on the ground and they do move the ball with these in that it that it makes sense for him to run the football so Kohl's cowboys winning. I got the cowboys won and got the cowboys loosen then but with a with a with a positive out spin on it. I guess you could say because he thinks that's the good stuff that's right well. That's all we got offer tonight. Guys thanks for hanging out with this. We're talking the star as always we will be back next week to talk about the cowboys game against the packers and then prepare you for the New York jets in week six. We are talking to star. We had a Packers player. David Yari chugging, what three beers at least, and you made a great comet, then you want. I I've seen all these clips, and they're fun. Like, I don't feel like a complete Stirrup route. Like is this the thing. Now is this where we have, like a celebrity person down of beer, and you think about the people like Aaron Rodgers David bacteria Christian yelich, so great great role models for kids? There's just a part of those just in the back of my mind was lightly uncomfortable. I'm not saying it should be banned. Not saying I just think we should think about it before it becomes a thing. Interesting. That's part of our Milwaukee culture. We have embrace it. I'll tell you Colonel defense lawyer about seventy five percent of my cases, involve alcohol. It's not just a good thing. It's not new to say that we don't appreciate Oklahoma state. And the problems that come with a lot of bad externalities. I think it's fine. I'm not real enthused about yellowish slamming of beer he's got play today. There's that but you know as long as Brett Kavanagh's, not on the supreme court dicey Simon. Beer. I think we're, we're fine. All right. So you'd sweep to my interest with your sometimes we go back and forth before the show. And you said the article from the Wall Street Journal on millennials approaching midlife crisis middle-age, what's on your mind? Is this part of this Twitter thing? Are you middle aged? I'm getting there. You still have a nice dark hair. Thank you. No. I'm I'm in my mid late thirties, and the oldest millennials born in eighty one or thirty seven going on thirty eight. And we're, we're in the middle of our careers. And what this Wall Street Journal article basically laid out in, in very stark terms was when it comes to kind of career path. Having assets income stability. We're just not there. I mean we've been left behind, and if you look comparatively to even gen Xers the generation that came just before us, we're not doing that. Well, and it comes back to we all came out of college. I came out of law school right during the great recession, and it's really hard when you first five to ten years of work is really bad economic situation to climb up the ladder at the speed that everyone else did and just kind of compounding interest. We think of compounding interest in the savings account for money, but when it comes to professional skill and, and getting up the ladder that way, or, or just building up your nest egg, we've just been kind of lower rung, and it's hard to make up time. Evan other generations face similar tasks. And they've had to deal with the great depression. If you go back. Along cheer. Listen, I did not grow up with the great depression. I did not go off to. To Europe or or Asia to fight different different challenges, but still challenging, but, but we have kind of this poll on our ability to accumulate assets. And, and to feel like we are cheating, the American dream that I think that is unique for millennials. Yeah, it seems to be a cost of living problem. So it's a housing question. It's healthcare question. It's a student loan debt question. It's entering the workforce, and having some of your prime earning years, prime growth years occurred during that great recession some of those things people back yet. There. I think as boomers exit the workforce. I think this next decade, I think you're gonna see millennials make up a lot of ground the largest largest generation by population right now. I think their, their skills and their demand for labour are going to be supercharged in the next ten years. When I first started the show, people said you're so tough on Molyneaux, but as I brought millennial voices onto the show people now say, we get where you're at. Well, well, I think Colin the big the biggest elephant, the room and the student loan payments. I mean we can't imagine what to college. I pay for my tuition within the semester that I went to school. Yeah, it's tough. That said getting a college degree. If you look at statistically lifetime earnings, it is still a good bet to make on yourself, even with a lot of debt that you are likely to make more in lifetime earnings rather than even with that debt rather than just a high school degree too. Smart guys, Colin Roth Dan Adams Adams versus Roth more of them after.

I mean it's funny we have we have some crane guys here. I mean they're not here now like in the clubhouse, but my Gerber tie block Pavin daddy. He was at Creighton with me. There's I was kind of a rivalry. We'd play on mid week. They were in our conference, but seeing them, you know as early in my career, there was more guys drew Stubbs comes to mind through through is here for a little bit. I think in the outfield great player. He was a Texas guy in Texas. And, and the Rasco is good match us in baseball. And we hadn't been both of us. Great teams went to the World Series a couple of times. And so, yeah. Facing him the first time a major leagues. It was almost like. I wanna say it was like a new him, but, you know, it was like familiar, it was it was it was an interesting. It was kind of cool. And but the big twelve head great baseball in and we played great teams and they were they were guys all over you know it's all over the league that you face, and you might see. And and you know, guys change their swing and stuff. But for the most part, they're pretty much the same guys and they got a little bit better. But, you know, it's the major leagues and it's really cool to see everybody, you know, kind of kind of grow and how success at this level and, and chasing dreams and, and, and do it. It's great. It's a job too, and look you're doing a job. You know, we always have to remember that, you know, we come out, we have a job to do, of course, in this fans. Come out and be entertained. But you're actually working this is your job. Yeah, it is. It is we have to have fun. I mean like. Willie Stargell used to say it's they say play ball now work ball. So, you know it's, it's you got to go out and it's a game, and it's fun. But yeah we are entertaining. And, and we gotta go out and do your job. And, and you've got a role and you got to go out and whatever gives you the ball to do that night. Or you might come pitch. You got a job to do. And you might only have one pitch, then you gotta make sure executing and get it done. And, and if you don't you got to figure out what you did wrong and get it done. The next day, it only get a new job. Say this is your job. You wanna do it, right. Hey, made me think of this, I'm thinking of a lot of things that you and I talk, I really enjoy these conversations with Tony Watson on TV during the week at the Milwaukee Bucks Toronto Raptors game. They showed a couple of guys chugging MIR's yelich and Andre not Rogers, Aaron Rodgers chugged about halfway, and then he quit. But yelich just knocked down. Then a couple of the linemen knocked it down. I thought it was amazing. That was cool. What do you think I didn't think that was good? The, the Lyman was David Yari. I mean obviously those big guys can put them down. But now I was the Rogers one I was a little miffed at I thought he would go for it and try to juggle, maybe it goes all over his chest. And, you know, maybe the people like that. But obviously, he didn't want to go for it, and you can get the beer down, but, you know, fans love that stuff, and it's great to see that the, the teams are supporting each other. I think he's. He said he doesn't get job of that. You know you'll see here at the game. They'll see the sharks highlights and you see fans and see the warriors highlight to your fans going nuts. It's really special to, to have teams success in the same city you're in and guys pulling for each other and support each other. And, and, you know, those videos are great. I mean this yell the beard out. I mean, I'm sure he's hearing about that. Jay. But there's pretty cool to see can we met? Yup. Yelich. Can you knock down like that? You know, I wouldn't be afraid to try, you know, I, definitely try to go for it because it just means the next one's going to be colder. Nobody's county, a nice cold beer. Sometimes get. All right. Like it was a good part of sports during the week. Appreciate talking ball. Tony Watson, Tom. Thanks so much. All right. Thanks for having me mardi. Appreciate it more coming up. Lori on.
"david yari" Discussed on The Rich Eisen Show
"And we welcome you into our number two of the rich Eisen show on this Friday. I'm Mike Keller. John Kuhn, the former NFL running back thirteen years in a league two time SuperBowl champion, he joins me as we fill in for rich Eisen. Chris Brockman, Mike del tufo who are vacationing a much deserved. Well, earned vacation time after a long arduous run through an NFL season, though. They don't get much time away while they're getting a little time away now, and it's happy that were in their chairs for the week to come in this hour of the program will visit with Mike decor. See that happens here in a matter of moments, Don banks in our number three, Nick, right? Also in the third hour. Thanks to David Yari. The Packers left tackle who joined us in the first hour of the program. So yesterday, we spent all of our time much of our time updating the goings on with the NBA trade deadline, and it ended up that a lot of teams made a lot of moves in the Eastern Conference in the west. In conference just not so much including the Los Angeles Lakers who ended up having pretty good night anyway, and we'll get to some of that in a little bit. But this is going to be a big weekend where the college game is concerned. And we welcome in Mike, the Corsi of the sporting news and the big ten network, Mike. How are you? I'm great, Mike. How are you? Good. This is really one of those fantastic weekends. I wanna get to the on the court stuff in a minute. But the CBS and the NCAA tournament committee will also release a preliminary brackets mardi you make of that. Is this is this a TV grab? Is there any is there anything to be gleaned from what we find out tomorrow when they released their initial top sixteen teams. Well, I don't think that that there's much to really invest in it. I mean a year ago. I remember at the time. Oklahoma had started its decline and subsequent to the media harangue that trae young faced as a result of his thirty nine shot performance against Oklahoma state and a circumstance in which the media still hasn't Apollo, you know, at those who in the media who were responsible still have yet to apologize for being so wrong about trae young and for damaging the rest of the season. Anyway, that that point they were ranked fourth seed in this deal a year ago and most of the bracket folks were really surprised to see them that high because they'd already started to lose games. They ended up losing like seven in a row or eight in a row something awful like that. And and at the time they got in as a in in played in eight nine game. There were a lot of people who didn't think they even should have gotten that. So it just shows you how little impact this has on the eventual bracket. I mean, if you come if it comes out tomorrow Incan zag a one seed, then you can say to yourself. Well, if they don't lose the rest of the way in the west coast conference, and they played at such a level that it doesn't seem likely it certainly possible. But if they play at that level for the rest of the year, then they probably won't lose their one. But if they aren't the one, then it says, you know, even if they, you know, the question becomes even do go undefeated the rest of the way in the west coast and win the league currnent. Do they then climb to a once there might be something like that? But for the most part, it doesn't really, you know, I it's it's just kind of a it's a hype thing basically, and it's an inter-. You know, it makes for an interesting discussion time being people love the moth brackets. And they they they love so much. They get them way way way too early. You know, I wrote a column last Friday talking about, you know, for many fans this obsession with getting comardes caused them to miss, what's. Right in front of them. And and this February starting with tomorrow's are actually already begun..
