"Aren't they the smartest people in our country? It's the guy at the FBI that knows how to do. Excel that doesn't necessarily mean anything, right. Yeah. Exactly. That's, that's my point is the, the person who made this public might not have had the they just saw a string of numbers and said, well, that's not a kid's name. We're looks complicated. It must be techy. We meet again with that. And just do pivot tables, and excel. I don't know what you want from me right now. Yes. Doesn't make it doesn't make it right. Doesn't make it. Good good. No, no. Yeah. I don't think that there's anything the ferry is here. I think it's just yeah, it's, it's another case of, you know, just people don't really understand what they're doing when they're doing it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, this last one, I put in because this makes me grumpy. Okay. And you're on the right show for it. This got sent around here among our staff. We have a little editorial channel that we use on slack for sending stories around and this one got slung around and got my attention because the headline, this is on Forbes and headline is critical security warning for iphone users. So I mean obviously, that's something important that I need it's critical. It's critical security warning for users, I'm an iphone user. So I clicked through, and it's pretty much a click bait article what it comes down to is that not all developers are using best practices, when they're developing their apps and talking they should be designing insecurity from the get-go, and they don't. So course that could lead to some vulnerabilities. There's nothing that you can really do about this as a user because there's, there's no real way to know which developers aren't are not using practices. There's no patch. There's no there's no update. There's no indication. There's no warning. It's just a just a critical security warning for iphone users. And this is a disgruntled Android user. Yes, it is. The reason I am calling out the IRS numbers, rather than the Android ones has nothing to do with me being an Android fanatic. There you go. Guess everybody seems to think I phones an ipad or more secure. Right. Not right. Except they are. See, see. Dangerous to the other thing I love in here is he kinda tries to turn it around to say that Android folks are actually better off because. What this, we know when we're being owned with exactly exactly right. That's exactly right. He said, let me find it here. He says, first of all, he says these acuity issues need to be addressed in a mature and non emotional way. So that users of the Iowa's platform, can be better protected from those who would do them harm. So here we go. Here we go Android, users also need to pay attention to security issues, but as the platform is often viewed as less secure than apple. They tend to be more aware of the dangers, so no, they aren't. Judging from everybody. I know that uses an Android. They are not more aware, right? In fact, if once you become aware of those sorts of things. You know what you do you get an iphone? Yeah. Right. Exactly. Exactly. So this is just annoyed me because, yes, it made me grumpy because it's just totally click bait because anything apple gets clicks at calling something a critical security warning for iphone users. This is this BS. There's, there's nothing actionable here and so shame on this guy. Shame on Forbes for publishing publishing it but pay the got to click through. So there you go. Let me break this down for you. Let me break this down for you. This is David winder. He's a contributor to Forbes to contributor to Forbes, you basically have to know how to smash on the keyboard with both hands and have letters come out that is true. He's got he's got a neck tattoo, which gives him cybersecurity cred in..

"We get some daylight and begin the search continue the search for young boy. Ethan Brit who went swimming on Monday night at the height of this, flooding along the south fork river and David winder was found, but his friend, Ethan Brit, still unaccounted, for, and I bring on the line on the WBZ hotline this morning. Ray Stagich as promised, we had a respite from the rain yesterday things drying out to a degree. But to water still an issue high water in areas of our listening area. And here we go with more rain today. Yep. Oh, I'm going to go with the good news. The good news is that the rain total should be held back to about a half an inch maybe up to an inch if you do run into a thunderstorm, and that's I think the most will do it's not going to be like to our south and east where there are flash. Flood watch. Parts of southeast Georgia, southeast South Carolina, where Savannah, Georgia yesterday. One of their top ten rainiest tastes. I think on record. Wow. Wettest June day on record skews me top ten four point five three inches of rain yesterday. So luckily, not that type of rainfall just think the moisture is gonna stay too far east, and the low won't be strong enough to give a significant rain. Well and not only that, you got the rain coming in, but we had the sweltering heat a few weeks ago. And now mid week here we could dip into the fifties, the middle fifties at night tomorrow night looks like yeah. I mean behind the system we are going to be unseasonably cool. A couple of things going on. We do have a little bit of a wedge of cold air, coming in or cool air. Let me get too carried away here. Yeah. Without northeast flow. So that's something you typically see in the fall in the wintertime, you talk about a wedge cold air damming, but with that northeast flow coming in today that will keep us in the upper sixties and with the rain coming in mainly this afternoon. I think we'll see some showers this morning, you know that's gonna help keep temperatures down and then tonight and your. Sixty with rain ending overnight and tomorrow, we'll be up into the low eighties. So we'll be warmer during the day, but down into the low to mid fifties at night as breath west-northwesterly flow, that north west breeze. The breadth of that cool air starts coming in tomorrow night, leaving us in the upper seventies to near eighty on Friday. So we get through the steadiest rain this afternoon. And tonight we've got two real good looking days coming up tomorrow and Friday, there's a chance we could roll that right into the weekend, and we'll start to see some warmer temperatures to getting back to what we like to call normal, which is somewhere around eighty five no rain, including Father's Day, and they will stay warm into early next week by about Tuesday, and mid week and beyond that we may start getting into a more typical summer time weather pattern where each day, we may have some scattered showers and thunderstorms. So we'll go from wet day today. Too few dry days in the back into a wetter weather pattern Tuesday Wednesday of next week. So back to the rain today, real quick for let you go, not the punch that we saw over the weekend. But obviously with high water any rain that you get is not a good thing. But, but not gonna stick around nearly as long as what we saw this weekend. Exactly right. I mean, you know, the ground saturated the rivers and streams are high, so it won't take much to get additional flesh. There's no watches right now. No flash flood watches, but will could probably happen this afternoon is that we won't go to a watch if we get heavy rain in one spot. And we start to see flooding may go right to a flash flood warning. So the warnings are when you need to take action and seek higher ground. The watch is just the potential for flooding today. It would be more of a scenario that will see heavy rain developing, and may hit a spot that they may pop out a warning. So that would be the one thing I'd have your ears open for today race. Staging from the Weather Channel. We'll keep in touch. Sounds about thank you. Five ten on NewsTalk seven ten WBZ tea. And again, our top story, the missing boy. There are two teams that went swimming in the south fork river on Monday night, one of them has been accounted for the other has not David winder was one of the boys that has since been found. But when he was founding, he told officials that he had a friend Ethan Brit, who was. With him and the search continues or will continue want. So we get some daylight hear more from FOX forty six Charlotte's Brett Baalbek relief. Rescuing teenage boy who spent the night stuck on an island in the south fork river short lived once on shore. He told rescuers his friend fourteen year old Ethan Brid was missing teams searched by air boat and on foot encountering, tough conditions including swift, moving water debris from flooding, and venomous snakes right now, this, this is a search that is only able to be conducted by trained personnel people that know what to do know what to look for know how to respond if something happens out of the ordinary emergency crews say Monday evening. The boys decided to go swimming in the south fork river during the height of flooding even on a normal day, neighbor say the river is tough to navigate. But for some reason, highwater draws a crowd over the years, I've seen about about four water. Rescue. Like this and usually when the water gets high like that, sometimes it seemed like people just want to troughing out, again, more rescue teams plan to return here they will be bringing with them dogs and drones and even a helicopter. Tell search for this fourteen year old boy, red ball Dak at the south fork, river news talk eleven ten WBZ at five twelve FOX onset since purchasing the app ways. Google has quietly added many of the popular features from the navigation app to Google maps, but ways hasn't been overlooked, the app popular with drivers since.

No, social this firm has ever failed the bar exam. Kidding? Yeah. So Thomas this question was personal injury. Case plaintiff slips falls outside of a store. We have used this hypothetical. You know, thousands of times on the show plaintiff alleged that the store was negligent in allowing the entry way to become slippery from snow tracked in from outside. And then before the lawsuit was filed the plaintiff threatened to sue the store's manager said, hey, you know, look, I get that there was less outside. And you picked answer a no. Because that that that the statement will not be admissible in trial because it is a statement made in the course of compromise negotiations, and I am pleased to tell you that answer is exactly correct. I was nervous. Because of the before the lawsuit was filed thought there'd be some technicality. This is the time period place where these negotiations officially can't be part of the whatever. But not so I gotta right. Yeah. You you got it. Right. This is federal rule of evidence rule. Four eight. It is a rule that this kind of question is one that will trip up some lawsuits, but didn't trip you up and doesn't trip up anybody, right? Who is a regular practitioner for precisely the reasons you are ticketed on the show. Right rule. Rufo eight right. The one of the yes answers that you that you pondered over for for a little bit on is. They're going to be a technicality is the rule excluding offers of compromise. That's four zero eight does not protect statements of fact.

You gave the middle finger salute in all your photos to the North Koreans. They didn't know what that gesture meant until later, and there was held a pay. Well, that's exactly right. In fact, a commander burqa, right? Almost from the get-go. Decided that our our chief, and and only major resistance, whereas to do whatever we could to undermine their Papa Ganda efforts in a very real sense. That's why we were held by the North Koreans was for propaganda purposes. So that they could gain stature within the within the third world nations. And so. Our activists were all design and in either photographs or anything that we wrote to. To undermine their Papa Ganda efforts. And of course, the so-called Hawaiian good luck. Sign was one of our more notable one. And there was another time when there's a word in the English language. That means a joyous song. But it's pronounced peon. And in you wrote in one of your quote, unquote confessions, we want to peon not just the Korean People's Army, not just the people of North Korea. But the Korean People's government. And most of all Kim Il Sung. Yeah. That's correct. And in fact, we picked up that same phraseology when we were. When we were finally released in December of nineteen sixty eight and we were coming across the bridge. No return. They wanna commander Bucher to record. Had the crew right and have commander rookie record. Thank you for the great treatment the rid received from the North Korean. So we picked up that accent booming out over the loud speakers that we wanted to pee on the North Korean army pee on the North Korean navy. Most particularly really peon premier Kim Il Sung now when they found out about the the Hawaiian salute and the peon they took away any rights and privileges you had and then they really laid the torture on again. Well, that's correct. And that was really the third set of beating looted before to two sets of beating for third were were what we call it hell week, and that was in December of nineteen sixty eight it was after they had received a copy of time magazine published the photo with the Hawaiian good luck sign and sort of made up the snappy little comment about how we were getting the better of our North Korean captors and up. So they became very very upset about Bannon. Those. Speeding for very unrestricted. They didn't care about what they did to your face. For instance, I came out on North Korea with two black eyes and cracked ribs. One guy came out with a broken jaw people came out because they have been kicking him in the back so severely so. Was. You're on the one hand those were the most fearsome beatings that we had during the eleven months that we were there. But on the other hand, they were the beatings that that really hurt the leashed because we knew were getting beaten and beaten so bad because we'd really gotten them. You did sign these false confessions after the torture, but you did them often with such lavish ridiculous terms that you guys kind of understood, but the North Koreans did not well sure we had access to not only are US stadium. Attic language, but also naval lease for instance. When they wanted us to admit that the ship had violated territorial waters. We use the phrase. That. Penetration. However, slight is sufficient to commit the crime. Now anyone who's ever been in the military node? That's the C J definition of rape. So you're sneaking these little things in there that someone in the navy would understand what not the North Koreans and North Koreans? Didn't pick up on any of them. Eventually, they let you go because of someone's work here. Stateside or just what happened? Well, the story is I got it from the State Department are very much the work of a work of our State Department. Why is that what the North Koreans one right from the beginning? We're the same goes to have the US admit the same thing. They asked us to admit to which was that the ship had violated their territorial waters. They want us to they want to apologize for that. And they want the US to give assurances that it would never do it again. So we call that the three as and the US was very reluctant to do that to sign a document. And so they told the North Koreans. Okay. We're prepared to sign a document that says that north grandmasters in September, the north Graham said okay shores, how you're going to sign it. And so they took the documents or we're going to sign it diagonally across the middle of the document. That's not what the North Koreans wanted at all. And so the negotiation broke down, and then if you know nineteen sixty it was an election year, Nixon was elected November. So the State Department said, well, let's try one more thing. And they went back to Pam, and John and the negotiations, and they said, essentially. You know, Nixon hates commish. So what you're back to get is your last offer from LBJ? So we recommend that you take it or forget about it. And they said what we're prepared to do is to read into the public record a statement. That says we're back to sign a document with which we do not agree. We're signing only to secure the release of the crew then we will sign the document down the bottom the way you guys want to. And then after that, we read into the record a statement that says we just signed a document, and we signed it only to secure the release of the crew and the North Korean said, okay, we'll take that. And actually when we were on the on the boss waiting to come across the bridge of no return. They handed each of us a photocopy of the signed apology by the US. So in fact, what happened with as we know later, the the crew and commander Bucher were criticized for having. Agree to the three as you've made it something that we didn't do apologize for it, David winder. And in fact, that's exactly what the United States government and Bucher was almost court martialled. He was brought to a quarter of inquiry by the navy brass. You defended him he was accused of giving up the ship without firing a single shot. But he pointed out the circumstances. How futile that would have been you're on his side? That's correct. That was pretty pretty universal on the on the on the part of the career and Joey on mind. You know, what I mean to put in perspective the had a crew of eighty three. We have fought for as much time as we could get which about an hour and fifteen minutes every time that we tried to head out to sea. They would open fire on skin to get us turn around and head back towards one son. At the time that that Bucher family made it decision. He had a twenty eight crew members who had been injured three of them seriously. The other not as seriously, but certainly shrapnel rooms and that kind of stuff. And he felt that..

And so they took the documents or we're going to sign it diagonally across the middle of the document. That's not what the North Koreans wanted at all. And so the negotiations broke down. And then if you know nineteen sixty it was an election year, Nixon was elected November. So the State Department said, well, let's try one more thing. And they went back to Pam John and the negotiations, and they said, essentially. You know, Nixon hates commish. So what you're back to get is your last offer from LBJ? So we recommend that you take it or forget about it. And they said what we're prepared to do is to read into the public record a statement. That says we're about to sign a document with which we do not agree. We're signing only to secure the release of the crew then we will sign the document down the bottom the way you guys want to. And then after that, we read into the record statement that says we just signed a document, and we sign it only to secure the release of the crew and the North Korean said, okay, we'll take that. And actually when we were on the on the bus waiting to come across the bridge of no return. They handed each of us a photocopy of this signed apology by the US. So in fact, what happened with as we know later, the the crew and commander Bucher were criticized for having. Agree to the three age admitted to something that we didn't do apologize for it, David winder. And in fact, that's exactly what the United States government, did and Bucher was almost court martialled. He was brought to a court of inquiry by the navy brass. You defended him he was accused of giving up the ship without firing a single shot. But he pointed out the circumstances. How futile that would have been you? You're on his side. That's correct. That was pretty a pretty universal on the on the on the part of the career in mind that. You know, what I mean to put him the spectrum the public had a crew of eighty three. We have fought for as much time as we could get which about an hour and fifteen minutes every time that we tried to head out to sea. They would open fire on skin to get us turn around and head back towards one son. At the time that the Bucher finally made it decision. He had twenty eight crew members who had been injured three of them seriously. The other not as seriously, but know, shrapnel rooms and that kind of stuff. And he felt.
