If she is, I would love an extra room. And lastly, guys, you know, during the friends reunion how David Schwimmer mentioned that he was not a fan of working with Marcel the monkey, right. Do you guys remember watching that? Yeah, well, I guess it's coming out at the trainers calling Bs to that and saying that he was jealous of the monkey and that's how Yeah, he's calling David Schwimmer jealous, he said, quote people would laugh at the monkey. And then he got jealous because they weren't laughing at him. Wow. Oh, this guy is taking a lot of liver. I need to pull up my launch here under this case, shady dream lot, right? Yeah, he's that was basically and he just came out and said, I'm not going to let you talk bad about this monkey. I'm not gonna let you hear this before. Endoscope so common, right? "Make it about the main six so it's not like they could spend so much time going through all of these side characters and giving them their own plotline in their own time on the show because it was a time crunch and it was really mainly about the six of them right. Like for example. Yes what everybody had died. Brad pitt came out yet. But it wasn't the right time. And so i i understood those creative decisions as much as selfishly. I would have liked that. Brad did get a shout out. Did you catch that. Yes she repeatedly. I guess solely refers reversed him as pit which kind of known. But now that. I've seen him more and more. That's really how she talks about him yet because they were doing that. One part in the reunion special whether taika all their amazing guest stars in that i been friends had the the lineup of gus stars. That you wouldn't believe and david Says like your fella Brad was on. She says yup pit was on an episode and they were doing another interview before the reunion. Special where they were also talking about guest stars and jen says mr pitts episode was great or something like that and i was like i love that. I don't get it. Why i still all these years later. A strong reaction to hearing her say his name or vice versa. But i just unapologetically do. It's will never get old. I was literally watching the episode that he was on last night. Dying just seeing them in the same room together even though they were fully together at that point before we talk about some of the revelations from the actual couch. I just wanted to touch on that kit harrington said because i think he described each of the six of them kind of like masters of physical comedy and he was talking about the pivot. Cnn he said if you look at the actual script it's pretty uneventful. And they showed the script as he was talking and he's like it was because of the way that they did that scene and their expressions and the way that they move that made it. So memorable. And i was thinking about that. Also when they were showing julia roberts cameo and she got asked chandler to come into the doll and you see he pushes himself. I think seeing that one. Which i've seen a million times after listening to talk about that just made me realize that that was such a huge part of it because some of the scenes were really not that spectacular when it came to just the writing. No course i mean it was. It was the tire way they acted. It was the chemistry of the show. That one pivot scene is so funny but the funniest part of it to me is when they showed the behind the scenes bloopers of it of them unable to control themselves. Because they're laughing so hard and they did that for a couple of other scenes where they're showing the behind the scenes bloopers. And when i tell you that i was literally laughing so hard. I was crying because to watch them. Altogether the chemistry they have and just unable to control themselves was like the most you could ever get out of watching a show like to me. There's nothing funnier than that. And seeing the way they're direct he's gathering laughing and laughing at themselves in the script in your one hundred percent right like the scenes themselves aren't always. It took the six of them to bring those scenes to life and to add their own brand of comedy to each of them that really. That's what made the show so special. Yeah and the other thing about the magic of those bloopers. Because that's what you hope for is going on behind the scenes when you're watching it. You're having so much fun and you're enjoying it so much and you really believe that their friends and so two then have that knowledge confirmed even though we've known it it just makes you really happy like i. Just think for your average person. That's something that will make you smile. Yeah it definitely does an element. Also that goes kind of into the idea of the bloopers in the behind the scenes is obviously i know it was filmed in front of a live studio audience. It's just something i often forget about. And there was a lot of times throughout the special where they were going through things that happened on the show and then showing the audience's reaction to it which is saying that. I don't think we've ever seen so. There is one part where their time though in. Monica and chandler get together when they're in london and they just they show monica pop up for the first time. The audience had no idea that that was ever going to happen. It was obviously huge. Twist in the show and to hear the audience uncontrollably laughing and cheering and screaming for that moment was so special. I thought and then to hear them talk about how you know. That wasn't supposed to be an endgame. Plotline it was just supposed to be a thing that happened. But then when they heard the audience's reaction to it and how much they loved that plotline in that story and they just ran with it and made it a whole thing in the show. I thought was so special. Because you don't think about shows typically in terms of that you don't think about writers changing applaud because of the audience reacting well to it and that was such an intolerant reaction that was so special i could have watched every single major moment of the show happen and then heard the audiences live reaction accompanying that yes. I'm so glad you brought that point up. Because that's the next thing that i was gonna say. I think it also really takes a very talented writer director producer to understand that at the end. They you are appealing to the audience. And i guess that is only a luxury that you have with a live studio audience because in another show maybe you're making some stylistic decisions for the next season based on how the season in general was received but the fact that literally that actual live reaction and the volume and length of laughter contributed to them changing their minds. That was marvelous. That was really special. Yeah obviously so gray and then when you find out hearing matthew perry say that he really had kind of like a deep level of anxiety about making sure that he was eliciting a laugh from the audience and actually almost to the point. Where you saw with that scene with joey when he kept tripping accidentally how you saw matthew berry basically burst into scene as a way to just make the audience laugh because he couldn't handle that matt leblanc was getting so many laughs and that wasn't set in any sort of a bad way he was just being really honest about his experience. So having that knowledge made the monica chandler in bed audience reaction so much better to me. Because i then was thinking oh my god from matthew that probably was the ultimate it was. It was really interesting. Hearing is perspective hearing all of their perspectives on the show in what they thought it was so interesting. I feel like one of the things that maybe was expected. That didn't happen was a ton of crazy revelations or information from the show. I don't think we got that other than the david trimmer. Genetic something that will get into in a second by from me just hearing them talk about. I think a lot of people felt this way during them talk about their experience. Even if it wasn't the craziest revelation in the world was just so incredible to hear because it was information that you didn't have that made you feel like happiness stahl gic and that's all the show is supposed to do. I think it did accomplish that goal. Yeah definitely let's get into the gen david thing because that was i would say on debatably the biggest revelation the biggest kind of holy shit moment and not only to hear them kind of both confirm that they had a crush on each other and that it was very reciprocal but then to hear matt leblanc kind of jokingly saying bullshit response to them saying they never really hooked up and just that whole dynamic talk about fascinating to watch..

Everybody i wasn't alone all the noughties. A thank you for listening to yesterday. I know it's a little rough when i'm by myself. It's hard to sort of laugh and talk to yourself to your critic. Your own critic rob shooter. You weren't as bad like don't apologize for being by yourself you you honestly you are. You are very good. I want you to look in the mirror that you're jumping of friends. What time is it yes. He times the friends responding to mackey peres health questions. If you remember they did this big reunion clearly. Something was a little off with matthew perry. What they're claiming. The official announcement is that he had dental surgery. Just before the show will leave that there. We're not gonna die with him. But that's the official fischel response now. People associated with the show are being asked about it. I bet this is bugging them. Garrett they did this reunion. This big special to really advertise. Hbo has bought the rights to stream the friends catalog. They spent over four hundred million dollars. They wanted us talking about friends. We are solder but we're also talking about matthew so now the director has had to come forward and said quote. I loved working with him. He's brilliantly funny. Great one liners. And i feel lucky to be in his presence. Also cutting brian twos. The show's executive producer. He's also sort of being forced to address matthews health to saying all that i can say is. I don't have anything to say about that. He should have stopped there but he kept going. He went on to say except it was great to see him. I think he's very funny on the show but yes i also think he's okay. He seems stronger and better than the last time i saw him. Matt sounds weird and excited to be going forward. The friends themselves have not spoken is about it but my sources tell me that concerns like what we saw is the tip of the iceberg. Actually air guarant-. That's the best footage. What we dim say is all the footage edited out. And what he was like backstage. I'm told it was a little concerning. It's it's interesting to. I even asked a few dentists friend of mine. Yes i have four friends. They're all dentists. So it's it's weird trying to pick which dentists 'cause i don't want to offend anybody but if if you watched if you watched the friends reunion on hbo max's. I did when. I first tried to watch it on on thursday night. My hbo max crash just like it. Did sunday night. When i tried to watch mar- mayor of this town. I finally watched it. You could tell his team. Matthew perry's teeth were like beyond white like almost like obnoxious. Why like you get a tan and like your your your skin glowing. Teeth were glowing. There were so white. So i i asked my friends. I go is a true like you get some tea. they go. Yes definitely got a whitening. Did you get any type. They can't say because they weren't in matthew perry's mouth but they could definitely tell that he definitely got some type of whitening to go along with whatever else he had done to his mouth. Why would you do it before big reunion when you're getting paid almost two million dollars to sit down and have some fun. I don't know but the other thing about it to ruptured. And i think you can agree. People who are so attached to show or just shows in general or or people on tv. They want them like trapped in that moment of time they want they want matthew perry looking like he did seventeen years ago. You know but we all get older you know some of us go one way some of us the other some of us stay in the middle of the road in in terms of weight height know speech whatever the case may be is late to be judged on ten years from now what i will look like or even to if you looked back when i was ten years younger you do change. It must be very hard to grow up on television now. Another theory too. Which i think is quite interesting and a showbiz friend of mine told me this. Is we actually get to see the other threatens quite a lot so jennifer. All the time caught to lisa little a lesson. The guys are a little bit more. Private matlock catches his own network. Show you know what i mean. So he and david trimmer is doing very well behind. Not behind the scenes but like more on each b. o. And showtime and shows like that and not prime time. So everybody's doing their own thing. Jennifer aniston's up in a while and you suddenly see them. It's more shocking. I don't get to see my mom. And dad don often in britain so when i go back each year or so to see them. I do notice the changes. I really do my brothers and sisters who see them twenty. So we don't notice the physical changes quite as as much also though and i think this is what we're trying to get to here is that matthew has been very honest about his past struggles particularly with substance abuse. Wouldn't see said that he literally doesn't remember three years of filming friends it was all a blur to him and he also opened up to about his anxiety. That is former cast. Mates didn't really seem to know much back. He said that he wanted to die when he didn't get a laugh from the studio audience and the other cast members just gray no that they didn't know that it was funny they were they. Were talking about one specific. Take where matt leblanc was a coming into central perk and he would trip and Every time he would trip the audience would laugh and that just got to matthew perry as they. They showed the clip. Where on the third take you perry. Just out of nowhere wasn't in the scene jumped into the clip just to not ruin the take just to get a bigger laugh out of it. It's very tricky to always be. The jokester always be funny one. I do get it but it brings us to our poll question of the day. "Could fucking used to like you know that year to take care of rent and all this shit he blew a fucking ferrari and it took a long time before he fucking landed friends so they didn't talk about that on this documentary but actually seen that on another show before but he was pretty much the perfect casting that they could have gotten for that role like he had the looks but he also had like the comedic. Timing that you're looking for like a like a dumb character. Wasn't he one of the boyfriends on married with children when kelly. Yes yeah i know. They talked about his small role that he had on. Just the ten of us. But i remember him from married with children. He was one of kelly's boyfriends on that show and like they couldn't have done a better job casting joey than fuck and matt leblanc perfect. I love this michelle when they were talking about like if they ever were to come back and do more seasons of this. What were your thoughts on that. Would you want to see. This cast reunite and give us maybe another season of friends. Of course i would. But i do respect marta kauffman who also creates created one of my other favorite shows which is on that plex ackrason cranky If they're going to say we would have to tear apart the threads of what we created in order to have a a story. I i don't know. I think that's kind of a cop out and yeah i would love to see another season. A movie basically anything. I really love these characters. I think each of them were casted perfectly. I knew that ross was created. Four david trimmer. That's something i did know. And he above. All i think has the best physical comedy throughout the show and i would love to see in the reunion est. I could see. He fell right back into character. I thought him Lisa kudrow and matt leblanc were the three most easily fell back into their characters. And it would be nice to see that. But it'd be a show and then they would have to like introduce the kids and all this shit right. We have to talk to get paul rudd for that because you know all. Cbs mary to mike. And there's no mike without paul rudd. Now one of my favorite authors rainbow row will has talked about how her fans always ask her first sequels to her books. And she's like you don't actually want that you just want to be around these characters while they live in their happy endings but if you get sequels you get your characters being disrupted and you get more trauma happening to them and you get like all these other things that they have to work through. And so i've i've kind of been trying to internalize out because i do always want sequel books and when i get them i get mad whenever characters are like really going through it so when they were talking about on the reunion episode. I did kind of get that. Because it's like i don't want any of these. Happy endings disrupted. Because i'm a big soccer for a happy ending but it's like like you mentioned. They have kids now so it's like they could be chilling and the stories could be about their kids. Maybe i don't talk that. I don't want the fucker cathy. I was gonna say if people would like that. But it's like they're not. I don't think that they could make show that's just these characters living. They're happy lives. Which is what. I would actually want to see. 'cause what if they start win. It's like oh so and so got a divorce..

Please identify. It's one of them black max. And Twitter. They can. You know, South Pacific. Oh, man, number two. It's hard to tell 'cause Joey's hands have gotten so fucking fat. Oh wow. He looks great. Yeah, he does. He's funny. I love him. This is probably the only bid on the show he's on. There he goes. Ladies. There's a message on the answering machine. Can you identify the voice? It's going to be Gunther Gunther. Hey guys. I'm finally retiring from ophthalmology and with love for all of you. It was Tom Selleck. Bye. Tom selling. Let's do it. Oh my God. Okay, she dated Tom Selleck, right? In the show, yes. In the show, okay. I can remember he's in the shower. Man, Tom Selleck put on less weight than Joey. Yeah, I was just gonna say that, but in a less funny way. It doesn't sound like a big guns guy or something. Oh God, yeah, he's like a reverse mortgage guy, so he's like taking your check. Okay, so everyone thought reverse mortgages sounded fishy, and then they started having commercials where they were like, I know this sounds fishy, but I wouldn't do it. If it didn't rob you fucking blind. It's like just calling it out. Just saying it sounds good she does not make it that fishy. You know, Cosby being like, nah, I know. Find out what his drink is. I don't know. It's all bad, man. I didn't know he was still alive. One of the, one of the funniest tweets, one of the funniest tweets I've ever read. I can't credit the person. And I apologize. It's not like they're going to be listening to this. It was like a comedian that tweeted this, but it's like a comedian tweeted like Rudy Giuliani definitely has like 9 reversible. I remember as mortgage so much. He's going forwards. He made it around once. I love Rudy Giuliani's son has been in the news. And he said something like, he's like, I know I look young, but I've been in the pair's room for politics for 30 years or whatever. Oh yeah, that's right. Yeah. And how does that math check out? He was in politics when he was three. But dude, he's younger than us. I know, and John Oliver goes. Do you think you look young? Oh God. Yeah, to go back yikes. Oh wow. I've totally not paying attention now. I was just looking at it. Yeah, now I regret not listening to the story. It sounds interesting. You said something about a helicopter. Oh, and I forgot to Joey talking this is not going to be interesting. He's on the least interesting life. Nothing has happened. David Schwimmer directed breast men. That was his next big thing after Friends. Is this movie called breast men? I don't know anything about it. I just remember seeing this. A movie about plastic surgeons, probably. Yeah, because but he starred in directing it. And I remember in the beginning he was talking about the cameras. He's like a big, you know, he's like, look at these cameras. I'm a director. I mean such films as breast men. David trimmer made some appearances in or actually a appearance in 30 rock. And I actually thought he was super funny. I actually do David Schmidt, the greatest name. Green Zoe? This is I think I don't remember. He was the global warming activist. Hey, there's deeply something. Yeah. That was like, wow. This is not your average television show. They're on the cover of Rolling Stone. Rolling stoned. I mean, we're a TV show. They've somehow entered the zeitgeist. I don't know when that happened. Yeah, were they always a hit? Oh, they were just with the cast of ER. Yeah, I just remember loving Thursday night TV. It was just all good. I couldn't get enough of it. See we used to watch TGIF Friday night. Oh, sure. Dude, actually, of general interest to the show. I used to hop on a call with my friends and just watch all of TGIF. You're like, should we fall asleep together? Yeah, why not? I mean, never do that, so you're gonna hold all intents and purposes of this. I probably have said that. Yeah, I used to just be it was like a phase. You know, just be on the phone talking. So I probably did it with what is BTS doing here. Dude, they got ethnicity in here any way they can. Because friends is the friends is like a fucking it's like a snug commercial. It's the whitest shit. Yeah. How about? Shut up. Oh, they're doing lines from the show since funny. Okay, they might have they might have a big smelly cat. Rendition with some band. Yeah. Or they'll have, yeah, or they'll have deep blue something place smelly cat as well. To make new friends, especially okay, all right. Yeah, I don't get the correlation there. So I know what they're doing here what I got. I'm seeing that. They're doing the thing where, oh, this show meant so much to me. Okay. I think we're about to see Stephanie Brady. I remember when friends went to Disney, and I just knew from then on. I was always going to go to Disney. Brady, I didn't mean any offense. But she's never going to listen. No, so when they do the thing about okay, here we go. Complain that he was unable to okay. They're doing this thing. Friends say my life. Okay, I just want you to know. Some people see like a leaf floating on slow down the street and they're like oh, that leaf reminds me of my grandma, I'm gonna change my life. This TV show change your life, bullshit. I've never bought into this. Getting closer to I mean Friends definitely changed my life in that it's made a lot of time go by in a more pleasant manner..

"I up the goodbye part. E from the series finale. I love this episode because you can see how the after ten years end. There was a conclusion for all the characters. The goodbye party was very emotional It was rachel during the goodbyes to everyone so for everyone. Who doesn't know racial is doing the goodbyes. Because she got a job in various End it was her farewelled. Bargain poorer the group It was actually at that. It was her during the advice because she was the newest member of the on episode. One win the whole thing started when the who'll show starting and shepherd it was emotional also because she finally got back together with ross there. I donald after the second Got together or when they broke up So yeah. I think this is certainly not really the best of episode or moment for me. There's a lot more than the One but but i think It's worth mentioning on this list number two. This scene is the funniest for me but right now it's become more economic than funny. It's the scene with Whenever i see or hear the it's afternoon ross. Ross voice that they hear so for those who nola ross is very practical very while he bias a couch in. Instead of having dinner to his apartment he decides he will be taking it home with him with the health off rachel. They get to his apartment but was stuck in the stairs because they couldn't like manipulate the couch to turn the corner of the stairs so they got back up and rachel could only get chandler to help. This year of them. Tried to move the couch at ross deductions and he us To both chandler. In rachel but they still couldn't move it around the foreigner so after a lot of effort in you know funny things. Ross decides to return the couch in glut store credit malone so let's all admitted ross as a character is very problematic especially at this. I am But he's also very funny properly. Be of how. David trimmer delivers his lions case in point members three when he got stock in his leather fans. Well inside the bathroom fingernails fired mid mistaken. This episode was the one where they tried to do gears. Resolutions and ross was trying to do something new everyday. You new new year's resolution death so he tries to wear leather pants to date He went to girls apartment for the date and they were on the couch watching a movie and he feels hot because of his spence. "That level of physical comedy along with everything else on France because usually everything is confined to an apartment or whatever, but there was a lot of kind of running around and hiding back and forth. was very far light. That we're talking about. Now. What else do you remember about the episode as far as? I was curious about out. South seen. Are you guys filming? Everything brought to the studio audience within high where you had to fill things separately with him, like was he on your schedule or was it like a special? Willis? Now is on the regular schedule. I mean if I remember correctly. I don't think he came in every day for rehearsal all day. The way that we did but on the film, Fridays, he was there. And it was front of the studio audience, and it was pretty intense and the episode prior where we first meet throughs Willis I introduced him to David and he and I have to enter. We walk into central perk together, and the crowd just went wild, and it was so thrilling like you know because here I am walking in with him in the rows, going nuts, and it's like Oh, that such reme-. Internet now for me. But yeah, the audience just ate it up that he was there. And so you definitely would have snakes more pauses while everyone you know at their hooting and hollering out. That brings up an interesting point general experience being on this show. What was the studio audience from your experience? Because now we're at a point where I have to feel like these people who've probably been on a waiting list for unser years. Just get here. It's like this very elite opportunity to be a part of the most coveted seat in studio, audience the land at this point wars. What was that energy like you guys for press they. They must've been so excited just to be there. Yeah, it was a lack I. mean the. MEMBERS WORST THRILL There and they laughed so hard and. Applauded even harder I mean. It was really it was remarkable. Absolutely electric in there and it it. It really fuels your performance. You know and it put some pressure on you because you don't want to let the audience now. Just to cut a go through a little synopsis of what happened with your guys characters, you go to the cottage for the weekend. Elizabeth your character leaves to go buy some condoms again very mature booth. Yes, the leadership role take the rates here. Rachel and Paul suddenly turned up forcing Ross to hide, which is of course, the beginning of this farcical three's company like scenario where he ends up having to hide and I really noticed watching the scene where he is trapped in this bedroom. And all comes in Bruce Willis. He comes in and Ross. David Trimmer he doesn't do the normal thing where he immediately like knives under the bed, he just kinda backs up you, let's let's as well as you. Let's Paul kind of do his thing for a minute while he's standing there staring at the back of his head, and then he kind of just troops down like. In a very Ross Lakeway, but I thought it was I thought. That was so hilarious that he was just like well. Of course, this is happening. I missed the physical. Was Really Brilliant I mean yeah. He just like led his knees. Go weak in kind of collapsed. His physical comedy was just so top notch. I mean it was. So brilliant it because it's over the top and grounded at the same time. It's always unique and different so. Clever and creative about everything he does, and then speaking of clever creative in different. This is where we get to meet. Maybe the real Paul because now. He's got Rachel waiting for him, and he has kind of a you know as they say a come to Jesus moment where he has to look himself in the mirror and try to psych himself, clearly, the confidence issues that he is not lead on because all we've seen from Paul is like you said the cruel. The coolest guy in the room Bruce Willis basically the Bruce Willis that we, we a soup Bruce Willis. In real life. That's all right right. Now, he's showing showing us when no one else could see. Him is lack of confidence. He's talking to himself. He psyching himself up. You say come on Paul, you can do it has himself at the mirror and say I have. Your. Sincerely try. Zip Self. Nine. Good. Were you. Watching this. You know not just impersonal. Suck. Again. Oh. Yeah, people were just going. For that it was it was brought down the house really. It was, it was so great. I mean I. Love is love to be there. For the rehearsals tubes I got to see it over and over and over again and just to watch he David play off each other when David then mocks him. It was so brilliant run. That's. You know gauzes on. All catches you guys read. Tells Ross. Perot. Even slyly,.

Are they doing it on their own or is it coming from higher up? Is it coming from whoever's running the DNC coming from Pelosi? Is it coming from Schumer? Or they're just doing it instinctively because this is what they do. I mean look at the look. The Obama Economy for eight years. Obama's out there talking about how incompetent trump is for crying out loud. Obama rewrote the book. On presidential incompetence in all you need to do is look at his economy for the evidence and what trump was able to correct it in three years and now look where we are trending right back down to the Obama Economy and Lower. And who is it the tabby about that and wants to keep us there? You're Democrat Party. They don't deserve your vote. They do not deserve your voting. I don't care if you're a lifelong Democrat. What are you gonNA wait for it to get worse? Is that the objective. The governor campus wrong. What about your concern for the people? What about your concern that your city not become a ghost town? What about your concern for the people who live in your city? You're good news but you haven't seen any bad yet from the reopening of the state of Georgia contrast this with the mayor of New York. Cnbc squawk box. Joe Kernan says bring us up to speed what stage? We're in right now and whether New Jersey is within all guidelines will get start opening up with begun to take what I would call baby steps. Admittedly beaches is a big step in that list. But we've had a bias toward opening things up. I that are outdoors elucidating that whereas moneyball as we can be and we say all the time the data determines dates and then more broadly public health creates economic health. Trust me I want to get folks back to work as fast as possible but if we screw up the public health piece. None of that will happen. That's really decide that we need to err on. Yeah well the question. The holidays other states doing their not concerned with the public health aspect is it that the state of New Jersey as much more dense than the state of Florida is what is it. We we say all the time. Data determines dates More broadly public health creates economic. Trust me I want to get folks back to work as fast as possible but if we screw up the public health piece. None of that will happen. And that's really the side. We need on meaning. We can't up if it's going to increase the number of cases while I'm sorry you're never opening up governor. That's that's what you're saying. He know something else to Santa said. He studied the Spanish flu. Pandemic in one thousand nine hundred seventeen in one thousand nine hundred witch was world wide deadly and one of the things disentis. The Mayor Floor Governor Florida. One of the things he said he learned is there wasn't there wasn't even a focus. Now because World War One was raging. There wasn't even a focus on shutting anything down or or they just pandemic at came along. Did what it did The country did what it could to protect people and to help those who came down with flu. Get over it get better but still it was massively deadly but there wasn't anything of the sort like what we're doing now. In fact. Woodrow Wilson was president of the United States during the the Spanish flu which had two big waves nineteen seventy nine hundred eighteen and he wasn't even an Oval Office address about noticeable office. There wasn't even a White House. A presidential address about it. It was just something that happened. Oh there's a pandemic out there okay we deal with. It didn't stop the presses on it was it was just another event like an airplane crash today or a car. Didn't crash there. What was it was not? It's like do you remember the Donner Party. Had to turn to cannibalism to survive the trip over. The Sierra Nevada mountains going into into California. The Donner Party had resort to cannibalism. Read the diaries written by the members of the Donner Party? The survival you know the only referential find to the weather which is what forced them to cannibalism. The only reference you'll find is. It was a particularly cold winter. There wasn't any complaining about it. There wasn't any whining and moaning. Oh my God what are we gonNa do about the? They just endured it and yeah they had to resort to cannibalism. And that's how we know about the Donner Party. But nobody's advocating. I'm just talking about the fact that what we're going for here is not unprecedented. There have been pandemics. This isn't even as deadly as AIDS. And we didn't SHUT ANYTHING DOWN FOR AIDS. Not a single thing and there were people who made allusions to maybe we might want to quarantine no you. Don't you're not quarantining anybody? So there were all kinds of mitigation efforts that were proposed during aides back in the nineteen eighties neighbor. All summarily rejected by the group of people suffering from HIV. Do you know there was no antibiotic of any kind in one thousand nine hundred seventeen. The solution for Spanish flu. The treatment for Spanish flu was nine thousand. Nine hundred seventeen thousand nine hundred exactly get out in the sunshine and fresh Air Vitamin D. Although they did no vitamin D they might unknown. I don't I don't but but sunshine and fresh air is what they said. Go back and look at the Stalker record. That's what helped in the days of the Spanish Lou. Now we have this thing running around. You better not go into the beach of you do. We're GONNA drag you home. If you get water we may drown. You're right there are. We may take you home. It doesn't matter to us. How do you WANNA die? "So if you have to look this up, the ante Natalie's movement is gaining traction mainly in India right now, but you know, the shit's only gonna come across the the waters now. But I guess it's just a they want people to resist social pressure to have children because what has having children, Mark, fun kidnapping, slavery motherfucker? Wouldn't just be easier for this kid to kill himself carpeting, the same thing. Really see I kind of agree with this kid, man. These parents were not responsible at all. Maybe he's onto something. They didn't ask his permission first. I'm no. But you guys, but anytime I'm about to shoot a load. I always ask. All right. You guys. Sure. You wanna do this dancers? Always. Yes. Exactly. The other crazy part about this story is you would think something like this would happen. This guy would have totally bad relationship with his parents. He says he has a great relationship with his parents. Then why bother God, I hate everyone. Do this guy's picture? You just he's a kind of guy you just wanna fuck and smack look at this fucking Astle. So it looks like David trimmer. Not really also looks like DJ Qualls. Look there is is that real what he's from India. So yeah, I think that beard is. Wow. It looks like a really bad Elvis impersonator. Well, he didn't want to be here. Dammit. So. Choose to look this shitty. It really looks like somebody who committed a really bad crime. And then picked like the fastest disguise. They could find shittiest beard. That's gonna spirit Halloween around here anywhere stopped at a gas station grabbed the Pera sunglasses really does. It's that's pretty spot on. Yeah. I couldn't even believe when I was reading the story. I couldn't fathom that this started in India because it's totally sounds like something that would start here. Why saw another news story this week that we can attach to this that there was a kid overseas? Who has parents were coming to visit him for college weekend didn't want as parents to come and visit him wanted some privacy. So rather than calling his parents and coming up with them elaborate scheme. What does he do? He calls the airport and calls in a bomb threat on their plane genius. Yeah. I thought you say called his parents and said he got kid. Snapped at one hundred thirty dollars cats needless to say, his parents will still come visit him, but only visitation days probably about once a month. Oh, man. What a dick face. Yeah. No shit. You're a college. You don't know better that you can't do that. You can't even say the word like I don't even want to say the B O M B word L out on this recording. Oh, no. Because someone could be listening to it on an aircraft yet, you know. And then they're headphones could come unplugged, you never wanna do that guy with the fucking alligator will get you. He doesn't even care motion. Support chainsaw falling all over the floor. How is he going to cut it with that alligator when it takes one arm to legs in another arm, bro? Take jobs his hand. It's not so much cuddling at this point as it is nuzzling up to. Alligator the cut your hand Got say. it. Save..

"It's not quite the same. Because that's like he really should have read the letter. It was really long letter. But says all basically like implicitly agrees to say he cheated on her, right? No. You just like admit it's an admission of guilt that they weren't on a break. David trimmer. You kidding me? So we both think don't actually force yourself to read the book say did onto the next. Yeah. Here's a question for you about friends. Yeah. Did Marcel the most one season or to you know, I've let season or two I actually know the answer to this because friends has been on in my household for the last few days and Marcel existed primarily in season one. But there was a mini story arc in season to where Ross visits Marcel on the set of his movie, and they have like a little date together. And then he drives off in a cab at the end. So they say a final goodbye to Marcel. I would not have put Marcel in season one. Yeah. Marcel was like the a two or three. Yeah. Yeah. That's when Ross was just an animal's guy that was his character. He left animals he loved like it was as paleontology nerd like focus on that for a whole season. And so he had a pet monkey he worked in a museum than they slowly got rid of the monkey the dinosaurs soft became deemphasize over time. And he just became a general nerd guy. I say all right next question. We should do friends podcast w awesome. Yeah. We'll call it. What let's read the next question. All right. Here's a guy who lives in Vermont. Gimme a famous Vermont tease man famous man for from Vermont even from from aunt, isn't it? Sure, I'm not gonna look it up cool or is he from New Hampshire or is. He from Boston. I know I think it's either Vermont or New Hampshire Boston fan. I've already liked up enough stuff. This episode of you have to look this up where Stephen King, whereas Stephen King from and does he say flip or flick off doesn't other thing? We should look it looks like he's from Maine. Also, search famous people from Vermont. Yeah. Woah, just says LL guess there's no really famous people rolling Vermont. I'll actually here we go Calvin Coolidge is from Vermont. He's a president not anymore. But yeah, he was the president. Right. Well, obviously, obviously, he's dead. Yes. Whenever president Lizzy. Thirty. No, chats Blumenfeld. He's absolutely twenty five. Let's seems no twenty five was McKinley. No McKinley twenty four who was Hoover twenty one after it was our twentieth. President used to know these. That's why I'm fucking with you by McKinley to really, wow, what number was cool. This is our fucking. This is a whole other podcast Jacob bureau. Look up stupid shit on the internet. What number president was Calvin Coolidge? What number president was Calvin Coolidge thirty. What did I say? I said thirty no he did say thirty thirty thirty John Giancarlo. Both camera shaking their head that you did not say thirty video and audio proof of it. Did he say thirty? Thirty. Yeah. You piece of shit. Laugh it up. You're making me look like a fool. I don't I don't think. think. Yuck. Yuck. What number would see twenty eight? You think in in like an infinite time. We'll have a president name. Yuck. Yuck. Yeah. Because an infinite time line everything happens. But it line. We'll have a president name. Yuck. Yuck. And he'll eat his shit during a debate to be elected. Yeah. Because it's you know, time is truly infinite which are postulating that is time isn't universe grows and expands ad infinitum. I think any permutation of US and world history. Can and will and has happened. So the, yuck. Yuck. Thing is happening. Eating shit ads during a. Bait. Sometimes it's televised on just a radio. Yuck. Yuck. If your policy, that's right. And he's the president in this specific universe. Crazy. Yeah. That's cool. All right. He's never twenty nine Calvin Coolidge rights. That's it. That's all you get you coy little divas. The Brilliance of Amazon's Homecoming Series

"All right. We are back. We're talking about homecoming season one. I mean, I don't even know if there's going to be a season two, but with homecoming new show in Amazon it's directed by front of the pods. Same as mail. It's a based on a podcast from allied Horowitz. And Michael Bloomberg that was Gimblett couple years ago. And the the podcast major parts were played by Catherine keener, voiced by Catherine keener, Oscar Isaac and David trimmer in the Amazon television show version of it. We have a show starring Julia Roberts, which I never thought if you told me ten years ago that Julia Roberts will be on an Amazon show. Just really confused two thousand eight me. Julia Roberts, Bobby volley. Hey, chris. Yeah. I've got a couple of other. Chris would really yeah. Yeah. I know we can get say that for for next next episode way to tell him podcast go. Yeah. So we have a home. Julia roberts. Stephen, James, Bobby, volley and shea Wiggham among others. And it's ten episode show ended I talked a little bit about it as a preview last week. So we're just gonna talk about the first five episodes today in the second five the the back half of the show on Thursday. So there will be spoilers. Yes. There will. Episode boilers mandatory, pineapple optics Redwood, and helping the episodes we're talking about and everyone here are the usual caveats. You should know that I'm recording this from s milk work right now. Yes, we're all the people Chris mentioned except for Julia Roberts J William or ended office right now having a meeting I think about season two. I am clearly an untrustworthy voice. But I do think it's noteworthy television show. And I am eager to talk about it. But understand you take all take the bucks, kosher salt. You have in your kitchen and just pour it all over whatever device used to listen to this podcast on. Yeah. Well, we so I feel like we just talked a lot about sort of the extra curricular things around television show with Walking Dead without actually talking about Walking Dead. So I wanna start rather than talking about the impact this show has had or what it means within the Amazon ecosystem or whatever logistic about the show itself. How's that rate? You you you leave me there? Okay. Again, not trying to blow smoke up SAM's ask. But I am really in all of what he pulled off here. Because forget I actually didn't listen to the podcast. So I can't even speak to what it must be like to adapt. What is essentially this? This long form audio story for TV. I can't I can't evaluate what I think he's done here. And we talked a little bit about. The effectiveness of the half hour thriller drama, and how that gave us kind of like remixed are brainwaves a little bit. It kinda kinda got wires crossed in a way that was really exciting. Because you're basically, I think when you're watching television show that takes at least an hour, and you know, it's drama, you kind of your your mind knows that there are going to be these peaks and valleys these lulls, you know, how they're setting things up around the three five x structure, you kind of have a feeling for how you're watching these shows if you're watching Ozark if you're watching hunting and Phil house, if you're watching a sharp objects there is of no matter how different these shows are there's a vibe to them. And there is a a tempo that comes along with an hour long show by compressing the drama and tension into anywhere from twenty seven to thirty one to forty one minutes. Sam's kind of manipulating your reactions. To the story. And the story itself is not I don't find it to be that complicated. It's not that Abrahams e it's not that mystery box. Obviously, there's a lot of central mysteries. But what I think he's done here is taking seventies paranoia cinema. Which is something that a lot of people like to reference, I think famously Andy always joked about how the Rousseau's talked about the influence of like all the president's men in parallel view on winter soldier. And we joked about that..
