"Good evening. I'm Peter say more. And here's our top story. The state house ethics committee has released disturbing documents about former Prescott Representative David stringer. Former Representative David stringer resigned this week. After after face a deadline by the house ethics committee to release documents relating to sex crimes. Dating back to nineteen Eighty-three those police records from Baltimore PD obtained by our TV partners at ABC fifteen say stringer approach to teams at a park in Baltimore and asked if they wanted to go to his house and have sex. Those documents also show stringer allegedly gave the boys ten dollars. One of those boys was mentally disabled. Ashley, flood KTAR news horrendous. That's Arizona house speaker rusty Bowers following the graphic Baltimore police report dealing detailing the one time criminal charges against former Prescott Representative David stringer in one thousand nine hundred eighty three. And legally we were able to taint information that resulted in the resignation of a member we're not afraid to do that. And we took that responsibility. Seriously, Bauer says he presented stringer with a report on Wednesday and asked him to resign, which he did governor Ducey tweeted these revelations are far worse than anything. "I'm Bob McClay on Aaron's Ona's news station. KTAR news. You've heard the headlines get some perspective now with Bruce St James and Pamela Hughes. Good morning to you. Happy Thursday opening day baseball kinda opening second day and get into that a little bit later, but first off not gonna have all Dave stringer to kick around anymore. Pamela. The lead. He's gone. He's out. He has resigned amid an ethics investigation. Embattled lawmaker David stringer resigned yesterday. From the house is on a house of representatives house speaker rusty Bowers announced that he accepted the press kit Republicans resignation around four o'clock now earlier in the day stringer asked the court to intervene as he faced a deadline to turn over documents to banded by the house ethics committee. Now, these documents concerning his five sex crime charges, including two counts of child pornography that he racked up when he lived in Baltimore in the. Yeah. I guess we should not assume that everyone knows exactly who Representative David stringer of Prescott is. He is he is at least when it comes to crazy when it comes to our elected officials behaving, poorly or oddly. I mean, he's he might be in the hall of fame, quite honestly at this point. And it's like where do you wanna start? Well, I guess you should go back to the eighties and start chronologically. Okay. So in the way back machine. Representative stringer before he was Representative stringer in Arizona. Lived in Maryland, he lived in Maryland and in nineteen eighty three. There was a criminal case in Maryland. It was alleged. Well, he pled guilty. Let's to say, okay. He pled guilty for three sex offenses in one thousand nine hundred four. There were five sex crime charges. He pled guilty to three of them. Not exactly sure. But out of those five charges there two counts of child pornography. Yes. The reason why we don't know what exactly he pled guilty to or what are the details of the sex crime is because the case was expunged in nineteen ninety essentially erasing it from public record someone. I'm assuming in Maryland, follow me on this recently. Got a hold of the expunged record the sealed record right of this case. And forwarded it to the Phoenix new times. Yeah. Yeah. They got a hold of this their hands on it. I don't know if they went looking for it or. I don't know the details, but I think. Somebody had to send it to them right family, because they would know it didn't exist. Yeah. I mean, th there are some details are, but I mean, this is good work on on the new times and local journalism holding our elected officials accountable because prior to this hired was even knowing that these charges exists, and he pled guilty to some of them and went to a therapist who deals with individuals, you know, that have been charged with sex crimes and pedophilia and things along those lines. I'm not saying that he is a pedophile. I'm just saying like you got some questions going on here because we don't have the details of that case. Apparently, nobody really cared about the crazy as he stuff that David stringer did prior to all of this. The new times told us about these sex crimes child sex crimes, and that was important because he's now being held accountable because prior to that Brucie wasn't being held accountable. "KTAR in-depth David stringers done. Yeah. And conservatives around the state or celebrating because there's no more having to try to defend this idiot in idiot who turned out to also be a slimy gross person. I mean, we knew he was in a because of the stupid racist comments he'd made. And then the Phoenix new times gotta tans on court paperwork for Baltimore that shows. He was charged with sex crimes in one thousand nine hundred eighty three. Apparently, the case was expunged and the record should not have been released. But we're glad that the new times got their hands on it. So we could get a glimpse into the mind of David spree stringer, which by the way is not a good place to hang out is a nasty dark place. Details of those charges were kind of unclear the case summer that was published by the new times had blacked out information about victims and witnesses enlists unspecified charges. But it doesn't it doesn't detail. The allegations. However, one entry says charge is child pornography. So it doesn't matter to me if you're making it or you're viewing it whatever. I it's just it's awful that anybody would be anywhere near this stuff. In the news that stringer resigned from the state house of representatives broke late yesterday afternoon. He basically resigned moments before a hearing before the ethics committee was due to begin where he was supposed to turn over some evidence. And just moments before governor Doug Ducey was on KTAR with MAC and Gaydos, I called for Representative stringers resignation in June today, he resigned, and he did the right thing. He spared the state and the legislature convulsions over this issue. And now we can move forward. Yeah. Boy, I have finally the people of Prescott are pretty happy to the mayor press kit like put out like it was like a two line statement. And basically happy about the whole thing. Now Doug Ducey is going to replace David stringer out says his job by county. Board of supervisors will be presented with a list of names. And then someone will be picked among the supervisors, and we'll have a replacement for representatives stringer, and I'm gonna work with everybody in elective office, Republican or democrat the people have spoken. This is our elected legislature. That's my job. So he doesn't actually he's not the actual one to the points that he's he's raised the county board of supervisors, but trust me being the defacto head of the Republican party much. Like, the president is the defacto head of the national Republican party. Doug, ducey's going to definitely be making some suggestions. And it'll here's why here's why conservatives Republicans are excited about this. And Democrats they're glad to see the slime ball go away and not have to sit next to him in the state legislature. But he has to be replaced by a Republican. So it's a it's a win win for Republicans. They get this guy out of their midst who apparently was involved in some way, shape or form and something to do with child pornography back in the eighties. And then just made a bunch of stupid statements over the last couple of years. They don't have to deal with them anymore, and they get they get them replaced by somebody. From the same party. So it's kind of a win win for the Republicans for shirts..

"Doug krizner in New York and Bryan Curtis in Hong Kong. John coming up this next week minors, including HP Glencore, an Anglo American all report earnings. Now, these reports could offer some strong clues about growth in China and indeed in the global economy, but what to expect we're joined by Bloomberg's senior reporter on energy and commodities David stringer. David thanks very much for being with us, perhaps even more important than some sort of resolution to the US China. Trade war will be the impact of China's stimulus. The miners have to be concerned about demand in China, which has been slowing. And is expected to slow further. No, that's absolutely, right. And and that really is a key consideration for the major commodity produces. And we know from from recent conversations from recent comments from some of the really biggest players in the sector that the one thing looking for is. When and where tiny stimulus is gonna is going to be put into next week. We'll have from from Billiton from from Glenn cool and also from harangue low American from straight eight the biggest mining company and really is that look on on China that people will be very interested in saying, of course, China biggest consumer commodities flow, a China likely tons to week prices on weaker earnings. You know, it's very interesting David because the latest trade data from China beat estimates on both the export and import side of the equation. And I'm wondering whether or not the Chinese economy. Maybe it's putting in a bottom who knows? But the extent to which the market may be hyping. This idea of stimulus is it possible that the notion of stimulus may be overreaching that the Chinese may not need to apply. Much more. Absolutely. That's absolutely possible on I guess what we heard from some of the players in the sector from some of the miners as well. Seeing. Now in what the waiting to see there's more evidence of a stimulus at a regional level. And the really key issues for them is what kind of industries are going to receive a boost. And how does that translate through to rule materials? What it could be that? We don't see a huge impact on commodities like on run token, colder raw materials for the steelmaking sector could be things like copper aluminium metal that he used more in machinery and white goods in in power grid. They could be beneficiary on. So they may not be a tool that that helps all minus with the exception of Glencore may be the rest of these diversified miner's. Stocks have been on fire. Why? Well, that's right. They're making a lot of cash. That the simple equation prices for lots of key commodities. Whether that's on whether that coaching coal. They have been performing at a well in a crop of company went through a very difficult period. At the end of two thousand fifteen to cook got rid of debt, and right now that the generating a lot of cash what we're seeing is is that can go back to investors, but not necessarily doing the sort of deal making the path and not necessarily putting a lot of cash into projects right now that rewarding investors with anything more interest from generalists investors and was seen as you mentioned those gains in share prices. So in in China, the top steel industry group, I was reading a China iron and steel association. They were kind of indicating that the iron ore market may have overreacted sue some of the supply disruptions that we have seen recently. What's their basis for making that claim, do you think? Towards the back end of the week gone. We we we started to see auto prices come back from a really pronounced response to the disaster that we saw in Brazil in January tailings dam waste them. Spill at a at a mine run by Brazil's the biggest. We still pricey died on ten dollars a tonne fifteen dollars a ton. And that scene is having been an overreaction potential full supply pulled out of the market eighty it. Still a complex pitcher didn't play at the extent to which seaborne and supply could be affected this year. And I think what we're saying is the recognition of that that that's still uncertainty as to how little supply will be pulled out of the market. And what impact that's going to have? I think the response from this Chinese groups was that. Steel mills the news is when they thought there was an overreaction. They don't see that being so much any she with a tighter market, David. Thank you so much Bloomberg's David stringer there. He is senior.

"Mac and Gaydos, best of our on Arizona's news station and GTE our news ninety two three SM legislature had a big decision to make earlier this week. The house was going to vote on whether to expel one of their own David stringer who recently it's come out that he was accused of a number of sex sex crimes, let's say and he pled guilty to two and this was back in the eighties. He got his record expunged, but it has come out. And so people especially lawmakers like this is unacceptable. The racist stuff that he said in the past governor Ducey said you need to step down other people see said you needed to step down. Well, they voted but they didn't vote to expel they voted to recess. Yeah. Why let's let's find out joining us now. Arizona state Representative democrat Reginald. Bolden majority whip Steve Representative folding nice to have you on the show. How are you today? Mac and Gaydos. I'm doing pretty well. Thanks for having me. So I, you know, one thing I want to know just for a little background info. Listen, I mean, I don't like this guy stringer. I don't think a lot of people like this guy stringer, but why didn't you at least in the democratic side file an ethics complaint months ago based on the racist stuff that stringer was saying. You know, so one of the things that we have been talking about, you know, moving toward public censure. So we just got into session about three weeks ago. So they're happening conversations between both the democratic caucus and the Republican caucus to to censure, Mr David stringer. The one thing that's important to let people know that this is not a partisan issue. So, you know, for me, and some of my colleagues we wanted to make sure that we did it in a bipartisan way. So. So there was no no hint of politics being played here. It was just the guy who's saying racially charged being SU who is not representing the people of his district and ends really making. You know, the state have a black guy. Well, I guess my point is you filed an ethics complaint against this. This guy for like these charges in the one thousand nine hundred eighty three but you guys didn't file an ethics investigation about all the racist stuff. I mean, I was ready to boot the guy when he was a racist. And now we're getting what did he have child pornography now and really ticked off? That was the conversation. And we we debated often on on whether or not we should move toward expulsion based on the racist comments that he made. And ultimately, we we knew that there needed to be some type of accountability some type of action, and we were leaning towards censure. But once we found out this story with regards to the charges that he pled guilty to some serious child pornography, as you said that really was that really broke the camel's back. And we said that you know, we have to make sure that representatives are held to a higher standard in. He's in what he's what he's done. What he said. It's just not reflective of what we should have been elected officials. Arizona state Representative Reginald folding joins us. He's a democrat minority whip in the local the state legislature with all that being said, then why why did they vote to recess? If you're going to draw a line in the sand. Why the ethics committee why why would Kelly towns now, you file an ethics committee? Challenge. Instead of this is unacceptable. You have to go automatically whenever you're expelling someone from this body you need two thirds of vote. And and apparently there were some members of the Republican caucus who who did not want to vote to expel him based on. What I I'm not sure I think you'd have to ask them. But you know, there were there are a number of members. Both gimmick rats Republican who say if we have if we have the opportunity to expel this guy. I would be a yes vote, and I would move to expel, but the speaker him talking to his entire caucus that was a decision that they chose to go this route what you know, if we have to go through an ethics route in order to get rid of this guy will go that route we're gonna end up paying and using taxpayer dollars. My my push was just let's let's do it now. But if we have to go this route. That's fine. Arizona state Representative Reginald building is joining us minority whip for the Democrats see this is here's here's why I don't like Republicans or Democrats. I don't like either party. I I not so sure you guys on the democratic side really care if he's guilty or not. Part of me says you just want to boot him because he's a Republican. Well, we know the big thing here to say that we are on that. We all know your listeners, you know, even if he's booted they're only can be a Republican that's appointed to that position there. There's no there's no benefit to our our caucus, quite frankly, if he's there and on the floor. I mean, he's out liar. He he he goes at beat of his own job. I mean, it actually from a from a political standpoint, it doesn't hurt Democrats to happen there with regards to his personality, but from a leadership standpoint, and from what we believe with regards to a what member should actually dignify themselves as representatives. He just has not met that he has not met that Mark. We're talking with Arizona state Representative Reginald balding filing an ethics complaint against David stringer, sir. Thank you so much for your time. And we're going to keep track of this. If you know anything before anybody else does you have any insight? Information. We'd love to hear from you. All right. "None of white kids that guy if we just call them if I just say represented stringer, the not enough white kids guy, you'll go that one not enough white kids got it. Khalid oakley. So it does come into play. Now, though. Now, you have to ethics complaints against him. Is this just delaying the inevitable? I seem to think it's delaying the inevitable because we're not dealing with a DUI. We're not dealing with a passing a bad. Check, right. He said she said, well, I will point out new times had a good article. They had a copy of the microfilm of the court documents. But there are still some questions out there that maybe going through this process will be answered so all the TS can be crossed an ice convenient way due process is what you're because the the house in the Senate each year in Arizona. They can expulsed expelled. Spall expulsion, expel someone. If there is disorderly behaviour serious misconduct. And there has to be two thirds of the vote of the members to do that. All right. The bar to get over one of the ways that they just flat out have a hearing, which is what the started as to just expel him. But then when the ethics complaints comes in. It's a little bit more careful because then you have a committee that actually investigates the allegations and puts a report together and then presents it to the entire body. And then a decision can be made. And quite honestly that is the safest thing. But again, you asked are we just you know, pushing off the inevitable. Yes. But I think that they're doing it the right way. And we have to give credit where Credit's due. The Phoenix new times is the one that had this story. It is still still not clear to me how they got the expunged. Criminal expunged court documents with the guilty plea. Now, I hear people can you? Explain this to me. I hear I'm gonna soom racist. Pedophile who still support Davis Turner because they want to be represented by a racist. Pedophile because they are one themselves. Well, that's the only reason I can think you'd vote for him. That they are arguing he was never convicted. He wasn't convicted. How do you? How do you? Go about squaring that circle he wasn't convicted. He he had a plea deal. Okay. So when I was a judge pro tem here. And so when substitute jetted you wear the little black robes. I did it was a big black round. Mini dress. Anyway. So when we would take plea agreement when I would take a plea agreement. One of the things I would say is, you know, you understand that you're pleading guilty understand. You will have a conviction on your record discounts conviction. This is this is this is not fundamentally different than going through a trial and being found guilty. We're just cutting to the chase. Well, if you plead guilty or you're found guilty. It is a conviction. You are a convicted felon when he pled guilty to sex crimes slash it's unclear in this because some of its redacted the the the initial charges that were multiple charges of child molestation. And there are names of victims included in the court documents. Now, here's I three victim. There's two ways they could be trying to get around this number one. They're claiming there was never a conviction because it was expunged which means that it was theoretically array. So he was never convicted got that. You can't. But you can't go back. That's like saying this never happened. That's what an experience still were. Really? Never. Right. That's so I. Okay. They're saying that or they're going back to the law in Maryland back in nineteen Eighty-three that defines conviction as only from a bench trial or a jury trial that goes against anything I've ever learned. But I suppose it's possible. I'm not from Maryland. So those are the two arguments, I think is this could be a partisan issue. Because again, I'm looking at the the the. Racist. Pedophile is defending David stringer who are saying this is the Democrats out to get David stringer because Reginald bowling who filed the second ethics again Kelly Jones's Republicans she filed the first one second one being done by a democrat. That this is merely a, you know, those liberal Dem's Hillary lovers out to get David stringer. I would say that would only be the case if there was no evidence or proof whatsoever of a conviction. In Maryland back in nineteen Eighty-three. That's this is not a partisan issue. This is a human issue. We don't need to have people like him representing our country. I have so many questions not understand about this. First of I will I will say that. I think the bigger problem if you want to make it a partisan issue is that the Republicans in the house had no problem with the racist parts of David stringer. Now, they're concerned child pornography are now you got my attention racist. We were okay with that. Right. We didn't think we need an ethics investigation into your racist. Comments.

"Afternoon news with matching Gaydos. News ninety two three FM. You know, there is certain things in life should just be obvious. Make sense sensible common sense common sense. It's kind of been thrown out the window. You've got the House Republicans yesterday voting on whether they should expel one of their own. Yeah. David stringer, David stringer who has a history of saying some racist things and making people uncomfortable, African Americans and other racial groups. Don't blend in there's not enough white kids in Arizona schools to help other minority. Children assimilate he basically said immigration is changing. The face of America. Wanted Browner doesn't want it to look like a mocha chocolate Oakland day from Starbucks. He likes vanilla there you go. So it should be a common sense. When the when the the I don't even want to say the allegations. It wasn't an allegation it was he pled guilty to some kind of sexual offense. Yeah. We told you the racist novel right to the other stuff back in one thousand nine hundred eighty three. Yeah. H should be a no brainer. That you know, what this guy now has a track record of he should not be representing other people in the state. Right. Right. That didn't happen. Nope. It did not happen. You'd think that you know, maybe they wanna booed him. Kelly Townsend filed an ethics complaint. Oh, no Kelly Townsend again, anti teacher, man. Right. Presentative kelly. What do you call her all round, bad personnel? Kelly Townsend filed and I don't care if you're Republican or democrat, if you're just a bad person, you're bad. Towns in filed an ethics complaint after the Phoenix new times reported on decades old charges against Representative David stringer for child porn and other sex crimes in Maryland. The charges were later expunged. But lawmakers want to hear more facts. So the GOP pausing the vote yesterday on emotion to expel stringer. I hate to say this. Yeah, they're going to lay out all the facts. And they're going to make an argument to save this man's buttocks. I hate to say it. But that's the way it's going to go down. Because Don shirt remember, Don shooter had the ethics investigation, and they were still going to allow him to stay sexual harassment. And then he he did something that JD mez NAR. Then the speaker of the house said, okay, I can't do this. There are plenty of Republicans that want this guy guards. Unfortunately, they're not going to do a lot of people who are. Republican representatives decided not to vote yesterday to get rid of them. They voted for recess. So I think it's I think it's political. You know, I think that Kelly towns in at first she wanted to vote to expel and I don't know if somebody got her or she changed her mind or she now believes this guy. I don't know idea, but she changed her mind from expulsion to well. It's just. I don't know do an investigation. See I would've booted him after his racist stuff. Okay. That that's for me. That's what you gotta do. If you're a racist. My goodness. This guy's been how are you going to represent? This guy's been banned from Prescott schools because of his racism, not not the the the child pornography that just came out. I mean, it was brand way before that. So just listen guys a racist. Do you want him making laws in Arizona? I don't so I would have booted him well before but Kelly Townsend changed her mind. And it's a gutless move. You want to do an investigation. Okay. Listen, you should have done the investigation on his racism. That's not. Okay. But now it's child pornography. Now, you've just blown it out of the water. I mean, I don't need to hear anything else. I don't need to hear anything else. I'm ready to vote. And you know, what when they vote. This is why it's political. Republicans in the house would temporarily lose them Giardi. But they would get it back as soon as they replace him with a nother Republican, it wouldn't be people. It would be a number of weeks or maybe a couple of months, but you're going to lay out an argument not to get rid of this guy. It looks like you're protecting the guy. Now. That's exactly what it is mean. That's exactly what it why. Would you go on limb for a racist? And a guy I has these abuse charges. I don't know because it's not as though if you replaced him you would replace him with a democrat replace with another Republican. So why are you going out on a limb? Arizona state law. He must be replaced with a Republican. That's the right law. He should be replaced with a Republican is a Republican. But but don't tell me it's because well, we need all the facts out there. What? Okay. What are we going to learn if the facts come out, he pled guilty to at least two charges if the child pornography charge wasn't one of them. There are still two other sex charges that we never knew about I'm not saying he's a bad guy. But i'm. Saying he's a bad guy. First of all, no, he can't be a good guy and be a racist. And then see something come out of the blue that you never let him and standing by saying I was never convicted. So this would set a bad precedent, dude. No, the temperature of the room and know when to leave here's the thing both parties are pathetic. And I'll tell you why right now, the Republicans are kind of less pathetic pathetic. No, no, no, they're both. All right. They are protecting David stringer because he's a Republican and right now the current split in the house is thirty one twenty nine. So if you were to get rid of stringer, it would it would be, you know, thirty one votes, by the way required to pass legislation. If you go on a party vote, the Republicans couldn't pass anything until they get a replacement, but only until the replace right? It's only a couple why. So that's why they're bad. They're gutless. They don't want to vote on this. They want to vote to recess. It's pathetic. Okay. On the other side. Do you think the Democrats want to boot this guy David stringer? Well, of course. Well, why they're doing it for the right reasons? No, they're doing it for political reasons because then they would have right, and it wouldn't be a majority. Listen, they do they really care. Do you think some of these Democrats go home and say, I can't believe that this guy is still in office? No, I don't think that's the case. I think it's politics for them to go home and say, how can we get this guy off? How can we nail a Republican? Wall. There you see both parties don't want to do. What's right quality? They just want to do what's right for their own party. And that's why I don't like politician. I gotta tell you. I mean, you want to go to the mat for this guy. You better know, something that we don't because if it comes out that if something worse comes out on me. Yeah. But if it escalates to something else sexually sexual whatever that we didn't know about and you're trying to like the guy from Alabama. How can you? How can you defend ROY Moore and people did he did? Politics, just nasty. These days a guy, you know, shouldn't be there is still there, and you had the chance to to get them out. All right. We'll keep our eye on this. He's still he's still there you still racist. And they're still all this other stuff that we gotta go through. All right. Becky Lynn, detour Dan, they are coming up. But when we return, I think, this is hilarious story..

"Then yesterday a motion was made to expel him. But Republicans voted to pasta session before vote could take place. You would think this wouldn't be that hard. You would think there is a line. You would think okay? We're going to put up with racism, of course, that from David stringer, but when it comes to child pornography, we tap out. You got us. Okay. Job pornography. You can talk about the Brown kids in the Black's. Not as we we're fine with that. But you plead guilty to child pornography charges. And we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna shelve this. We're gonna we're gonna go ahead. And you know, it's the literal definition of crazy easy. This is this is the craziness that shows poorly on the state of Arizona. You have a state lawmaker who plead guilty to child pornography charges is it child pornography that he pled guilty to. I know that there were five charges five three of which he pled guilty to no one to say five charges. They were five sex offence charged sex offenses, some among them there was at least one child pornography charge with. I I don't know what I'm trying to be fair here. I don't know if he pled guilty to a child pornography charge head lump it in I've seen. That's you. Okay. I'm going to lump it in he pled guilty to three of the five charges as part of a plea deal that we know possibly child pornography all of them sex crimes. Yes. That's true. That's true. That's true. I'm gonna call him a child pornographer. So that. As opposed to voting on the motion. That was brought up to expel him. Right. Yeah. You had democratic Representative original building. He is the house minority co whip. Okay. And he made a motion yesterday on on the floor of the house to expel stringer. We are in Ebeling this behavior by voting so recess and not showing leadership. We have the ability to move on to the pressing issues that matter in this state aid kit back to regular order. That's what we have the ability to do today. You have the ability to do. And I mean, he pushed hard for it. Now. I don't know what happened in nineteen eighty three. I can't speak about it. Because I wasn't there. But I can tell you allegations of a sexual nature that was not disclosed to this body to our voters. Okay. That's true there. There was a motion made. Need to expel stringer motion made? Okay. Let's let's take out you've been in the room before. Right. Okay. Motion is on the floor. Yeah. Okay. So now, you've got house speaker rusty Bowers who's telling the votes to to pause the session to do the as the nays. No, I like big as a name you you've got a motion to expel, but then you've got Republicans that want to pause. So what for your votes? Thirty one is and twenty eight days you have passed the motion for recess until the sound of the gavel. The bodies in recess. So instead of voting on them like there's some sort of Robert's rules of order that they were going through there. There's not voting on it. We're going to do that here. There's so much odd about this, by the way. I've learned. Yeah. Well, I find it disgusting and other people defending him. Don't get me wrong. But. Representative stringer. Has talked about. That he is currently pursuing an education degree in Arizona, and it is involved. Student teaching it's one of the reasons after his remarks he wasn't allowed on the campus of one of the schools does his expunged record is a sex offender allow him to pass a background check and be in the classroom with children now. I mean, it's expunged by expunge, folks. I mean, we're not supposed to know about it. Right. It's supposed to be wiped clean. Now. This happened in Maryland in nineteen Eighty-three the record is like ten years later. And now why they expunge we don't know, they're they're all different kinds of things where you can apply to have it, expunged, etc. And we talked before to KTAR legal analyst Monica Lindstrom about this. I don't know why they would've expunged that. But it did. But the Phoenix new times were able to get their hands on the court documents. That's how we know about this. The only reason we know they were given to Phoenix new times. And then they were told well, well, well, we gave these you. We weren't supposed to we want them back. Well, now, here's how old school. It was I might get the two confused. It was either microfiche microfilm film microfilm. They got the court records on microfilm. Can you just I feel bad for somebody at the at the new times? It was like, okay. How the hell? Do you read this stuff? Right. They try log into a USB port like Mississippi working. We need something else to read. You said this is odd. There's nothing odd about this. What do you mean? This isn't about what's right or wrong because I think we all. I don't care what party affiliation your with. I believe in the good if people, and I think people understand the right and the wrong of this isn't about due process. He already went through a court of law and pled guilty. Due process. This is about power. It's not about right and wrong. It's about power if stringer resigns or if he is removed from office when this vote eventually happens if it does Republicans would temporarily lose their majority in the sixty seat house right now, it's thirty one twenty nine. So it would go to thirty thirty thirty one votes are required to pass legislation. We just heard the thirty one votes went to recess votes. Thirty one is in twenty eight days. So this is not about right or gang. I hear what you're saying is about power David stringer, though has a lot of support. I'm actually looking at. The Prescott newspaper. It's called the daily courier. Would you wanna hear some of them? What does the state legislature have to overturn the popular vote? Okay. He was not found. He was not convicted of sex crimes. I'm reading the comments. This is also the people that voted to put him back in. After don't resign. David keep fighting he talked about there being, you know, don't let them railroad. You not enough white kids. And what was the Democrats say worse than hide behind their skin color? Don't don't expel him. Okay. But without your pending. Pedophilia. Okay. You're allowed to defend pedophilia. Pedophile. You're allowed to defend people who are involved in child pornography? Sex crime sexy, your you can defend them. But I will judge you for that. And you know, I got judge you you can judge those. And I totally understand. Why you do when I'm judging them myself. But those are a few people keep in mind. The press. Get city council passed a nearly unanimous motion does back in December asking stringer to resign. And this was just after not enough white kids and Blackstone, or whatever that stupid comment was he that he made at ASU they said he can no longer effectively represent Prescott and yavapai county that was in December. I hardly think that their opinion has changed in the wake of these new revelations. You're always going to have people on the fringe. That's not who I choose to pay attention. I don't know if that's the friend you're assuming it's the frame she made have he after the racist remarks came out he won in a landslide in press took the second seat. Yes. He took the second. He didn't take the first seat. He took the second seat and that district. You're right. He did. But now we have these comments last year. We also have this this record. I mean, this is a word. It's a quarterback heard that when we talk again to KTAR legal analyst Monica Lindstrom last week about it. She said that these this record would have prevented him from passing the bar in Arizona. As per we understand the rules in the state of Arizona, Arizona bar association. Even if you had an expunged record you're supposed to tell them about it. But Monica Lindstrom KTAR legal analysts said if you were standing in front of and they said, okay. Do you have anything in your past? Oh, yeah. Let's bring that up I plead guilty to a six crimes in one thousand nine hundred. But I have my record expunged. They would've said next they'd kick him out of the room. He would have never he would never been licensed to practice law instant passengers on a bar even with his ex the fact that it was expunges irrelevant. Right. And and this is where we're at now that you you wouldn't think there would be that big a debate over someone who plead guilty to sex crimes sex crimes involving children that they could serve the state legislature. And it's a close call where we're not sure. Yeah. We're gonna we're gonna think about it a little bit more really the LeBron. "Weather. Brought to you by Howard air with replace or repair. Call Howard air. I'm Becky Lynn on Arizona's news station. KTAR news. Here is on his afternoon. News with MAC and Gaydos. The big four at four at four at four. Mr stories. Story. Watts. By polish is to you. I apologize to the speaker. I apologize to our staff here at the house, and I apologize to the public. I want you to know that. I'm sorry. Pokhara? Well, I was dead stringer that was Representative David stronger, basically, saying full, I processed prostrate or you know, to all of you, please forgive me. I won't do it. Again, I won't be a racist anymore or I won't be a sex offender. You know? So so that was last week a Representative David stringer apologizing for his racist comments. And then the story. Well, it's not even the story. It's this man and what he's done in his past more came out last week. We found out that well there was a report in there was in one thousand nine hundred eighty three he had multiple sex offenses including child pornography against him. He pled guilty. So as we speak right now, there's something going on with down at the house with with the house. And I don't know exactly what the vote is for is it four to came out to. We know that we do know that. Okay. Lloyd talk to somebody down at the capitol. Okay. It is to expel wow. And state Representative David stringer kind of pled his case and move to the back of the room as the debate on motion to expel him from the state legislature. Whether they do that or not. This could all be a big show, and they could say, well, we voted, and it's it's it comes out that we don't expel him. And that to me would that would be disappointing. Okay. So we've got a democratic state Representative Reginald balding has moved to expel correct? The Republican Representative David so they're still debating that at the state legislature. Here's the thing after you know, about his race six racist comments. I mean, those were bad enough to make Arezzo governor Doug Ducey say, hey, the guy should quit. He should resign. Yeah. But then you've got what does he watch and child pornography nineteen Eighty-three possession possession, possessing it, I mean, goodness gracious. What more will it take to to to boot this guy? And I would just want you to think about one thing if they actually hold a vote on this, which they are expected to do how do you vote? We keep them. How're if you were Representative, and you're watching in you, and you've seen everything that's come out about this guy. How do you keep them because you know? That these representatives don't really they don't care about the people what they care about is their job, right? So you'll be the one that's the answer. Are they going to be the one that say I voted to keep the guy? I know he's a racist. And maybe a pedophile to keep them. Yeah. Because they don't want it to come back on them. And they're back. Well, again, better the devil, you know, than the devil. You don't better to say. And the vote says we keep them. Let me get the strand. You are saying that they are going to keep this, man. There will be you keep them because they would not want their background or something like that. Because then it's the slippery slope argument. Yeah. Well, I had a number of DUI is back in the day when I was in college, or I did something I was accused of this back in the day or whatever remember this goes back to nineteen Eighty-three and his record David stringers record was expunged by the state of Maryland in one thousand nine hundred ninety some how this came to light from the Phoenix new times. And now it's being brought up and of course, David stringer says I didn't I was not found guilty. I pled guilty. But I was not convicted. And it's expunged you ain't supposed to know any of this. So I disagree with you. I think that representatives there if they vote to keep them everybody's gonna know their name, and they're going to say you see that represent. Over there. They actually voted to keep this guy. And I think that would hurt them even more. We're just coming off a an argument. We're just coming off election. Yeah. That he will. He was where he did win all the racist stuff child pornography. I can't. Now, he may I don't see how you survive child pornography. I'm just thinking in the back of my mind. I don't know if they booed him because they don't want to set that precedent, which is which in my mind is gutless you need to do it. But they won't because they don't like going after one of their own. I don't know if they're going to do it either. I really I don't know. Yeah. I mean, I it's it seems to me it's a pretty easy, right? Thing to do is kick them out. Right. All right. So there's a vote going on Arizona lawmaker David stringer under fire not only for racist. And. You know, sex crimes come out from nineteen Eighty-three. It's unbelievable. Okay. So you're listening to the big four and four we bring you four big blockbuster stories over the span of twenty minutes. Right here with MAC and Gaydos. Big four at four big story too. The number of.

"News ninety two threes. All right. We're continuing to cover the story of Arizona. State Representative David stringer. You know, if you listen to this show, you're pretty familiar with this guy. Unfortunately, unfortunately, he got reelected in November. He's a racist. This is a guy who goes around saying there's not enough white kids. There aren't enough white kids in Arizona schools. He he doesn't think African Americans blend in they just looked so different. His character is despicable. But I never thought that he was the dude that maybe it watch child pornography in the eighties because that's what we found out today. David stringer was charged with multiple sex offenses including child pornography when he lived in Baltimore in one thousand nine hundred eighty three that's from the Maryland state court records, somehow somehow he got his records. Expunged? I don't know how he did it. The lawyer. I understand figured out the I guess the way to get it done. He was he was convicted of this and he pled guilty. That's a good question. Was he convicted or did he just plead guilty conviction means that you go through a trial? So what's interesting is that David stringer has now twelve news is tweeted out that he he he texted a reporter and said resigning over a thirty five year old allegation for which I was not convicted, and which was expunged would set an incredibly bad precedent? Meaning I'm not going to resign. Okay. So if he was on the show right now, I would say did you watch child pornography? Yes. Or no. He may say, no, okay. He may have been in possession. It may have been manufacture, we know necessarily ally. But he's a lawyer. He's going to parse every word you say he may say why didn't watch it. I just made it or something like that some ridiculous. You know sentiment the same thing. I mean if he was around. Whatever. However that is he pled guilty to sex offenses, correct? Five of them five of them. Yeah. And he's not a convicted sex offender. He doesn't have to register because he got it expunged. So what he's saying is. I don't think this is a good idea. The people chose me, and I'm going to serve I don't know. Why it just doesn't all the governor has called for him to leave the GOP leader of the house has asked him to step down resign. And he's it looks like he's not going to allow he's not going to write right yet. Maybe they start what they did with Don shooter. Maybe they start something up against him. And basically say we're only going to give you one more shot, man. And if you blow it we you're done we're gonna vote to boot you out. I think that if the governor and the speaker of the house comes out and says you need to leave. I think that's a good first step because it gives him the opportunity to leave. It's the easier way. Yeah. To you can throw that out there and say you have a chance to walk out now. I haven't heard anybody say, but if you don't we're going to force you see the next week that maybe next week. I have not heard that yet. So you can ask someone to resign. And maybe they will. And it saves you a lot of aggravation. Correct. But as you said, maybe this is going to go down the. The shooter was his name Don shooter on shooter who was sexually harassing women for years. And remember what JD Manar did JD Meszaros? And he was then speaker of the house. Yeah. Yeah. He basically said I'm gonna give you like censure or something like that. And Don shooter did something that morning were mesmerized was like, okay, you're done. You're done here. Maybe maybe stringers going down that road or maybe string is going to get another opportunity. Okay. Man. We're giving you another shot. And maybe he blows it again. I remember we had Meszaros said he was going to give him one more chance than I remember telling him, I go, I go he's gonna screw screw it up. Of course, any did you should just get rid of him now and the very next day. Yep. Of course, something happened and Messner and had to get rid of them. Immediately. I don't think you give this is different though. Because I another chance this is different in the sense that Don shooter was horrible to women, but he wasn't convicted he was interact. He's not a felon. He's not what he was never in a court of law. This guy was accused he pled guilty. But had it expunged. I think this is a totally different circumstance. I think you can start, you know, getting your colleagues together down at the legislature and saying we can't stand for this. We have got to vote him out. It's too bad. This didn't come out November. Because you would think Prescott would vote this guy out. Yeah. But but the people of get knew that this guy said a bunch of racists crap and they voted him in. Yeah. Right. Now, you're talking child pornography you talking to different level a different level random racism is bad enough. And now he has he pled guilty to those.

"With me unintentionally. I didn't intentionally do it. But you know, what is this sound like one of those if anyone who was offended names? Okay. I apologize to you. I apologize to the speaker. I apologize to our staff here at the house, and I apologize to the public. I want you to know that. I'm sorry. Okay. You know what I'm all for good apology. But why now can I point out that he didn't apologize to the people? The affinity apologized to everybody. For saying it not for what he said. He apologize. The public. Okay. Let let's give one more. Let's because I want to be fair fares yesterday on the floor of the house in the Zona again, David stringer lawmaker apologizing for none of white kids. Don't blend issues that relate to race and ethnicity are very sensitive setting. You think I believe on reflection? I have a duty to apologize to you as my colleagues. He's apologizing to the state house. He didn't apologize to the black kids are these panics who don't get it. Anyway, that's another argument that like saying there's not enough white kids wasn't bad enough. Again, new racism is not knowing racist. Black people don't blend in this this this is racial issue. But Pamela, what this is a drop in the bucket. Why because we have to give credit to the Phoenix new times. The Phoenix new times got criminal court records from the state of. Maryland. Why are we talking about Maryland because David stringer now airs state Representative was charged with multiple sex offenses including child pornography when he lived in Baltimore in nineteen eighty three eight according to Maryland state court records. Okay. Okay. Okay. Hold on hold on. Okay. Hold on. Because my my knee jerk reaction to this is you've got to be kidding. Hold on hold on one charged charged charged. Was he convicted the record appears to show a Maryland court entered a judgment of guilt for stringer on three of the sex. Offenses the case history also shows that he was sentenced to five years of probation and was ordered to seek treatment at a well-known clinic for people with sexual disorders. The Baltimore circuit court case. Also lists of names of three of the victims. The new time said they attempted to reach the victims. But were unsuccessful they are not using their names. Obviously, they have attached a copy of. The criminal case history. Now, can I put this up? The record was expunged in one thousand nine hundred ninety does that mean just kinda deleted. Okay. The new times got a copy of it by accident. A detective in Maryland sent them microfilm is back in the day like microfiche film. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. By accident. And then asked back you'll get that back. Yes. You don't get that back. The state of Maryland asked the new time say because law prohibits reviewing and disclosing information from an expunged record your instructor destroy a return these immediately. The new time says we're not returning them. We're not destroying them. We're publishing good for them. Good for them. That's the way it should be. But I want to be a different David stringer. I don't think the new times we've gone with that. Otherwise, I can can. Okay. So he had three guilty charges. On three of the five charges got five years probation. Did he play guilty to kiddie porn? Charges child pornography? Yeah. Let's get point. So I want to understand right now. Neither of the child pornography cases lists a disposition. Meaning it's unclear how the court decided whether the court made a judgment. Okay. So on the child porn, he didn't plead guilty. I'm trying to figure out what the three charges. I mean. Like what I'm trying to figure out Bruce baseball. What do we have a racist? Guy who likes child porn, currently sitting in the state capital, representing the people of Arizona is that what we have it.
