"We are getting set for game number two between the Yankees and the Mets. Mets won game number 162 for erasing an early for nothing deficit. Ah, couple of things about Game number two. You're starting pitchers Jonathan Luisa GE for the Yankees and David Peterson. For the Mets. Sergeant Peterson, left hander on the mound for the Mets. The Mets are the home team for game number two, So the Yankees, who are wearing their pinstripes will be batting first. I know there was some question about whether or not you'd bring road grazes on that. But the Yankees are gonna wear home uniforms, but they are batting first and the Mets get the bat last Another thing about this. It is Jackie Robinson Day being celebrated across Major League baseball. We know a timely that is right now. In the first game, the Yankees Mets war their regular uniforms in game number two there wearing the Jackie Robinson uniforms, so everybody on the field Where's number 42? I believe there's a patch of some kind on the right sleeve. There is there's number 42 patch. In addition to everybody wearing number 42. It always does look like Mariano Rivera Day when the Yankees do it. I knew it was going to pitch yesterday because that was the 14th and that keeps him in line for the 24th 14 19 24th of the 19th Sunday against the Yankees. I'm not sure what the mess we're going to do, whether they were going to pit him against the Yankees or whether they were going to have him pitch a SIM game. What he was going to do basically is get Teo. I think it was 55 to 60 pitches yesterday and then 75 to 80 or 85 or so you know, on the 19th or you know, whenever he was going to be slighted pitch for Ah, ah for the opener, so that that was the That was where he was going toe know, settle in and then he be good for probably 100 if they needed him for 100 you know, opening day, but I will say that that they changed. We'll certainly I mean, get the results of the Marie I You know when they're dealing with and obviously everyone is day to day, Ed. What would they do say if say if he's not ready for the start of the year, Eddie What would they do in replacing him? Maybe for one turn through that rotation. Or, you know, say, Well, we ask that as well. We didn't really get any answer. Think Louise mentioned just about every other picture they have on the staff of this void. Rosboch Ramirez story all swelled. You didn't mention Peterson. I would think you know what honestly has pretty good in camp just in the Times. I've seen him and I think they expect him to kind of take a step forward has been a guy that's been on the customer obviously hasn't delivered really. On the major league level, but You know they They worked him out of the pen a little bit last year, and I think they they liked what they saw him. He's I guess he would be a candidate. Obviously, another one is is I know that arouse more. Ramirez has been kind of a journeyman pitcher, but Hey, pitch very well. And there are a lot of a lot of the coaches I talked to in the first spring training who liked them an awful lot simply because he's he's one of these guys is very versatile. You know, on a moment's notice, he can go out there and give, you know, five innings whatever and not even blink so Gillis or a couple of names there. You do have David Peterson, but I think they want to kind of pulls him back a little bit. That that would be my guests. At this point right now they have to fill in with somebody you could walk. Her locket is another guy who was a veteran guy on DH. He's he's mate starts for them before, so you have to put him in there as well. But they haven't been to specific. Let's put it that way. Dad. How much do you think they'd like to avoid a bullpen game and we'll talk about it with the Yankees. We talked about the raise other teams, but you know, the Mets really pull something like that off it, You know, I think they'd like to avoid it. Hey, was, Lewis was asked was probably the only really definitive answer that he gave Louis asked if you would Toy with an opener. You know, using opener and he said No, Not really. We have what? We had six guys now we have five and hopefully they still have five. Just him. Alright. Come back. Ah, but and they have some other pictures in arrears to site. I don't think they would go that way. I think they might pick you back some people. Maggio may have somebody go out there for No say four innings and then have another guy out for for things. You could do that, And that's the closest thing I think it gets like a bullpen game..

"Yeah Yeah I can do. This is David Peterson. I work on partnerships at David thanks for joining us. Awesome to have air table on this episode with us so I have Chris Dancy and his created this covert neighborhood response template that he's using for his neighborhood but can literally be replicated by anyone around the world. What's your thought? Yes so yes we listen. I have been talking earlier this week. Actually talking with a colleague of Mine Mine Jason as well so thankfully we heard about it and I mean it's it's really really amazing to see what people have been building zooming out just a a little bit. We started to receive inbound a little over a week ago from folks using air table for Kobe. Nineteen related projects wondering we could help in any way and there was no question be made air capable pro available to any group involved in any coded nineteen related effort now on that day in. I should say if you're listening at describes you who's fill out the form at Air Table Dot com slash job at nineteen. So we can get you set up and especially if you're somebody who's had remixing what. Chris is built great example. You should. You should go to that. Go out one of like the bright lights from this past week which has been pretty intense week has been reviewing all of the different things that people have been building so many communities coming together. The range is like totally staggering. So the first thing is exactly what Chris has done. I think you've seen fifteen other communities come through showing us. They're building with what Chris is. Our Bills Temple ties. They're taking what he's built and run with it and they've signed up got air table pro set up and everything like that but I wanted to share some other. Examples of people are building. Yeah please do hopefully inspire others of what's what's the right now. One is like this project like dining at a distance dot com. If you've seen that one that's a big one. There's others tracking ten thousand plus restaurants that are still delivering or offering takeout across at this point over twenty cities across the US tracking it back in all air table in Hopefully they can bring that keep bringing more cities globally. There's a group coordinating three thousand plus volunteers in New York City who were delivering groceries to elderly compromise. There's a group. That's coordinating foster families for animals at shelters before the shelters have to shutdown due to local work from home or shelter in place of regulations amazing at range of projects. People are working on and that actually brings me to one other point that I wanted to quickly. Which is I think again Chris. Kind of leading the charge here this coming week. We Really WANNA start publishing projects promoting projects that people are working on either those that could benefit from more publicity because they are trying to get donations or volunteers. Or those that are temple ties and can be you know duplicated in brought to other communities. So if you're working on something reach out to make sure that we can start promoting it at your building off of Christmas thing reach out let us know we want to promote it and last but not least more generally if you run a business that uses air table has been hit hard by Kobe. Nineteen do demand or supply side. Shocks your struggling reach out. Let's discuss you email us at coded at Air Table Dot Com. We're kind of funneling all the requests. Some WanNa talk to you. Make sure people are able to keep keep the lights. So basically you're going to have like a showcase of all these different implementations people are building on Air table exactly. Yeah and and you can see. There's on air typical universe right now. We actually had category that starting to track it. And we're going to low that out even more. I think the power of these like no coach was like this is that anybody can take him to arrive. And when you open source. The template like what Chris has done that lowers the barrier even more and now is the time pressed steel replied right share. Let's open source. Bring this to every single community across Morales David for those for people listening to this. Podcast is tell us a little bit about her table. What you do there and how you got there. Honestly I realized the power of it because it enabled me to build this business so I was lucky enough to join the team a few years ago. And it's been amazing to be at a company building product that I truly saw the value of myself. Yeah so I think look the way they. Chris described it Chris. You're spot on. I think that the way he described is is a good way star. Which is it? Looks like a spreadsheet as inviting as a spreadsheet of this actually did but it was a strategic reason for that spreadsheets are in original new coats. first thing I do this offseason I would trade Jamal Adams for a first and a third round pick by cut I know you guys a great player but you know what you can win with average safety you can't win without offense so I would I would do that if I could you think you can get a first and a third form I do not number one number two will the jets don't have enough quality players you have a guy wants to be here he played great in the second half of the year I'm prioritizing keeping Jamal Adams I gotta admit I've changed my tune on this well I was down on him with the way he was running his mild he was acting I thought like a total clown on Twitter but Danny had a heart to heart with the front office and it was all business and he went out he played a dominant fashion I'm keeping Jamal Adams to me is one of your building blocks this is a team that's looking to take the next step I am not looking to blow it up that much more I need to keep some high quality high caliber guys I have on this team he's one of them I want to hear well I wouldn't be doing that in the interest of blowing everything up it would be to get a first round pick and get a quality player but anyway they need they need offensive line obviously listen we're in agreement they need a lot of work and a lot of help on this offense and I think the number one priority will for me in free agency and the draft how do you get better on that offensive line why did it say you go hard after sure for Conklin so and let me tell you sound for the giants for the jets for the Miami Dolphins that's gotta love on my team he's more he's been great with the Tennessee Titans you put a money outside at tackle he's one of the better tackles in the league he's going to cost you a ton but that is a guy making a financial commitment tell all right I agree sort out eleven back I have no idea what your thoughts on that but I'm going Jerry duty all day if he's on the board I'm in my mind that's a no brainer I'm a fan of Judy I also have to see how they dress the line in free agency though well that to me is a million dollar question because these wide receiver crop he's so deep you might be able to wait around get a guy whose name isn't nearly as sexy as Judy because you coming out of Alabama get a really good wide receiver prospect engage this sort of offensive line prospect that you died for that's the issue you can find really good talent in the second or third round a wide receiver in this draft I don't know if you're finding that same talent at offensive tackle that was my thought process when I was hoping you sign one lime and you do have jury duty if you get a first round pick for tomorrow Adams now you draft another lineman now you got two linemen and receivers and then you got to do what do you do about the whole defense dental indigent defense takes a major step back you take items off that defense you'll lose in a guy who could do it all when it comes to get after the quarterback Culver in caco and I mean it's completely safeties you're gonna find in a lake so nine out of ten years they've drafted defense in the first battle at the last decade they invested too much as far as I'm concerned moving up three spots for Sam Darnold but the guy is your quarterback he's twenty two years old it's time you got to count out of the boss will listen we shouldn't bring on that we're on the same page with that the judge should prioritize all offensive line and wide receiver as the top two needs in this off season anyway anyhow I think it will be easier to find an offense of linemen or two who could help you right away in free agency but depending on what you do between mid March and late April if you signed two offensive linemen that you feel good about it's a lot easier to go with a wide receiver in the first available right now at this point I don't argue I'd probably like to see them go with an offense sulaimon I mean you don't have to agree with they they don't have a single playmaker on offense last year this in a place I don't know if I want to pay in fifty million dollars a year he's awful he's an awful route runner is weak I bet you like I could bench press one hundred thirty five pounds I think I think the ball right out of the stands and he's a head case I'm not a fan and but he made plays in the second half yeah the knowledge that I'm not his biggest fan either I am not all in on the idea of re signing Robbie Anderson Boyd he did play well in the second half you have to give that well you know so they have a second and two thirds what do you think about using those three picks to possibly move back in the first exactly well maybe if you take jury duty at eleven if you could move back up toward the end of the first you can get a lime in there did you lose an ally the top notch offensive on the prospects if you wait to pick up in the twenties you're gonna see a run on the offensive line and we see that the last couple years in the draft I would argue well you're probably going to see it again I think if anything you are trading up if you're any your chance to go get your wide receiver I think that's what you would be looking at dell yeah one more quick question I didn't really see Oklahoma too much you think lance lamb is on the same level as Judy yes I absolutely do I think he has I'm not gonna say he's better because to me while watching them both and I watch a lot Alabama analyzed a lot Oklahoma these are not me cheer type programs that may be see on occasion I mean these are teams we watch the pond whether it's in playoff games in big games on Saturday you name it I know you lan this fascinating Judy I think Judy is a more complete player than the land now it may turn out that Judy runs an unbelievable forty top my overall assessment of the two lamb faster more complete Judy all right well either one of them sounds good to me and I agree with that well you tell me the C. lamb a jury duties in a jet I'm happy is that a fair assessment please watching those two guys in college to me Judy was a more complete wide receiver of the two Hagel lamb is a partner I I do I am is going to be a match up nightmare for any defensive coordinator next year but if you ask me who is a more complete wide receiver I think it's Judy I think it's shooting for that reason I prefer Judy a little bit more overland but I'd be happy with either one I preferred to build.

Matt talks to Marc Okrand about cursing in Klingon

"Hi, this is Matt fiddler, and you're listening to very bad words. The podcast about swearing and taboo language. We've covered swearing in foreign languages before on two different episodes in two thousand seventeen. And on this many cast, we're going to cover some more foreign curse words. But these particular swear words have no definitions because these are words from the Star Trek universe Markle Crandon I devised the Klingon language. Her didn't Star Trek movies and TV shows. In fact, he created all the alien languages heard on Star Trek Romulo in Vulcan and a few others what I was I asked to make up Klingon it was for Star Trek, three. And the idea was to make up Klingon lines that meant these twenty maybe at the most lines in the script, and we decided to make it sound real. It should be real. So he made it be realized with grammar and consistent cavalier and all these things. But the goal was never to make more than what was needed for the script. And the next time I had anything to do with with with the language was when I wrote this book, which may or may not have been a good idea called the Klingon dictionary. And there is nice say that is because it caused all kinds of things to happen with the language wants. This book came out. And in writing the book, I said, okay, if I include only what was in the movie and vocabulary items that were in the original TV show, maybe it would have been a really skinny book. There wasn't that much to flesh out the vocabulary and grammar, but mainly vocabulary. And in doing that, I thought of all kinds of things to add a lot, a lot of words. And then it got to the part about profanity because if you're a Star Trek fan, even a casual one like myself, you know that the klingons must say, vile dirty things just fits with their character it when people are learning new languages, what are the first things they want to learn after learning? The book is on the table. They wanna swear. They want to learn how to curse because that's how real people talk. I mean, how awesome would it be? Swear it someone at a Star Trek convention or Comecon in Klingon. But Mark would have to create profanity from scratch for this Klingon dictionary. He was creating. Because there was none in the movie Star Trek, three and none in the original TV shows. Is that right? What am I going to do here gave us some fun. I said, well, I wanna make sure they published this book. So I made up maybe five words, six. I said, these are the dirty words, and here the meanings of each of these words. And the meetings were comic book means meaning asterisk exclamation point at sign, stuff like that. So none of them was defined. But when the audiobook conversational Klingon was to be published, Mark wanted a little intro to the book that included a lesson on swearing in the original first draft, some kind of introduction, whatever it wasn't as okay. Now let's begin with what everyone who learns a foreign language. What's to know I, which is the dirty words and the company putting this thing out to Simon and Schuster said, no. No, we can't. We can't have dirty words. You know, we can't do that. So I thought about it. I said, all right, we'll do something else will be more traditional. Let's start with the sounds, but Simon and Schuster did let Mark put some Klingon curses in the final version. So they snuck in snuck in there. But once again, they were not defined. I'd say things like this word you my utter, if you're really angry and let it go, that none of them has never been defined. Next week, we'll hear a lot more for Mark about Leon Star Trek in white klingons do actually curse a lot in the Star Trek universe. We'll also hear from David Peterson who has linguists that creates other fictional languages in the curse. Go with them including the rocky language from game of thrones. We're gonna find out about all sorts of these curses in fictional languages and how fantasy inside often make new English curse words to express the taboos in their fictional worlds. Nice to see the truth that route. Route and guidance through this whole story. We'll be my former radio co worker force Phillips and his scifi fantasy partner Emily. So tune in next week? Very bad words.
