Mike Lee: Evan McMullin Is a Political Chameleon

"We're running strong for getting our message out there at this race is closer than it should be for the one simple reason He's trying to communicate the state of Utah but he believes whatever any typical voter might want him to believe But in reality he's a Democrat He's a political chameleon Whose latest color is deep democratic blue When you look into what he's actually said and what he's actually done when you look into the fact that he actively courted the democratic endorsement of the Utah Democratic Party In order to do so he adopted a number of their policy positions after having voted for Joe Biden campaigned against David perdue and Kelly loeffler in 2021 after years of condemning the Republican Party as hopelessly infected with evil ideology All of these things reflect the pattern of a Democrat who is now raising millions of democratic dollars that Democrats donor network and dumping millions of dollars of that filtering it through democratic consultants And millions of attack ads on me This is the work of a Democrat The guy who embraced S one that the bill in the Senate that would take away the authority of the states to enact voter integrity laws Voter ID laws legislative redistricting laws and things like that This is the work of a Democrat So I need all the support I can get So any of your listeners who want to help the volunteer work to donate they can do so at leaf or Senate And for your listeners in Utah I encourage them to get out today Fill out their ballots today You should receive them by now in the mail If you haven't already done so fill out your balance today vote for me and get those in the mail

"Four years ago they've essentially been running against each other nonetheless I think it also speaks to Trump's influence that his chosen candidate in this race David perdue did not fare well at all whereas his other favorite candidate Herschel Walker did very very well and was called the winner early on in the night against his calendars including one relatively well-known statewide agriculture commissioner Gary black What about that set of race between Warnock and walker is anyone in immediate favorite Warnock has a lot going for him in terms of record that he can point to in the Senate He also has name recognition now Maybe not too great name recognition out in rural areas but walker I mean you think about it He was a star UGA football player He's been a businessman and he has Trump supporting him 100% At least in his primary that proved to be a very strong weapon As I'm sure you know we wouldn't normally focus on the Secretary of State's race but Brad raffensperger famously resisted president Trump's efforts to overturn the election there He's got to get 50% of the vote or I understand he's in a runoff What do you think is going on there A lot of people were thinking maybe about a year ago that raffensperger was basically not going to survive a reelection effort And the support that he's seen is pretty astounding It appears that a lot of state leaders have really fallen in behind him to support him Jody hice is running again with Trump's endorsement That's given him some momentum but not nearly enough to defeat raffensperger outright Thomas I'm sorry to leave you just a few seconds to answer this big question but the school shooting in Texas has overshadowed everything the national networks normally would have been covering all these races They're not is any candidate saying anything about gun control or about this plague on our country with these repeated shootings None that I've heard David perdue expressed his condolences but I did not hear.

Are Polls Relevant Anymore? John Mclaughlin and Doug Discuss

"Most of your public polling done by media organizations and others are, they're good, but they a lot of them, and I'm saying a lot, not all, but a lot of them have inherent flaws a lot we've talked about which I think over time has calls people to not trust Poland. And I'll give you an example this morning I was on, I do a radio show and we were talking about polling in Georgia. And one of the interesting stats that came up and this was about the discussion of elections in election integrity and all this kind of stuff was and I had been given some poll numbers by a reputable firm that had basically said this and I'll just generically say this, that among Trump identified voters, you know, because this is something new that I've seen in the last few years that I haven't seen before and that was, are you a traditional Republican or a Trump Republican? And they'll ask about that. And among the cross tabs, like you talked about, one of the crawls tabs basically said that among Trump Republicans down here in a governor's race, Brian Kemp was actually leading David perdue. By 5 points. And so we just said that made a statement, here's what the numbers say. And we started getting text and other things from people who were listening saying that those are fake news. Polls are fake news. Why is it besides the oldest general fight if you hear something you don't want to hear you call it fake? What is call some of the more besides what we've seen in probably the presidential sides, the distrusting of polls and does that hurt overall perception? I think it's part of the overall media bias because the mainstream media that's biased against Republicans biased against conservative biased against president Trump, you know, uses polls to inflict inflict their bias on us in that regard. Because they're trying to manufacture outcomes in elections. One extreme case I gave you that Washington Post poll. But I would think most media polls have been wrong. In that, you know, in the less than the 2020 election, and that's why there was a big conference of the American public opinion and researchers, and that's why they came up with the solution that, oh, Trump voters weren't going on the polls. But they allowed their bias to impact, you know, the science of polling because they wanted to manufacture an outcome. They wanted Trump to lose.

Often Republican David Perdue is still too close to call. But Ausaf is holding on to a narrow lead. Let's bring in Stephen Fowler, a reporter for Georgia Public Broadcasting on Steven. What a historic moment for Georgia today. What's the feeling? Well, Excuse me. Well, if you ask Democrats, it's a feeling of relief. For years. They've been telling people that Georgia as a flip couple state, it's a winnable state. If you just invest time and money and manpower, and not only did they give Joe Biden 16 electoral votes, but they ended up likely flipping the Senate majority because of that investment. And so it's really a feeling of elation there. And Republicans are already beginning the soul searching to figure out what is to blame for this loss who was to blame and how they attempt to move forward in the state that is rapidly diversifying away from their favor. The historical context here is important because run offs in Georgia have been on favorable to Democrats to say the least. And yet we just heard Warnock say, Welcome to the New Georgia. He and Bonnie had a very comfortable life. Remember him coming to me in 2012 really concerned about the future of our country? Did you have any reluctance to counsel him to run for office? Because it's a rough business. As you know, sometimes politics ain't beanbag. Georgia politics can be very tough. And you know you've gone through that. And then your cousin now over the last few months is really experienced it It seems like every third commercial all over the state of Georgia is talking about what a rotten crook he is. Well, I warned him of all of that. How outcome of Georgia Senate runoffs could affect Biden's agenda

"Begin in Georgia, where results from the Senate runoff elections are continuing to come in. Democrats are set to claim another seat with Raphael Warnock projected to defeat Republican Kelly Leffler. Warnock addressed his supporters overnight. We prove that with hope Hard work and the people by our side. Anything is possible. With 98% of precincts reporting, Warnock has claimed 50.6% of the vote. But Lefler has yet to concede. This is a game of inches. We're gonna win this election. We're gonna save this country. War Knocks. Victory ends more than 30 year losing streak for Democrats in statewide run offs It also leaves control of the Senate. Up to the state's other runoff between Republican David Perdue and Democrat John Also off the contest remains tight, with all soft ahead by about 13,000 votes. Gabriel Sterling is Georgia's voting system implementation manager. There's a potential where some of these elections could be within a half a point, So the second place finisher will have the opportunity to potentially ask for a recount again. So I've currently has 50.1% of the vote. Well, Purdue, is it 49.9%. Some absentee votes have yet to be counted. And as many as 17,000 military and overseas ballots are due by Friday. President Elect Joe Biden's agenda hinges on the outcome. Jeannie's A No, is a Bloomberg News contributor and professor of political science at Iona College. All the things that you know Biden has talked about wanting to do. I'm not suggesting he'd be able to do all of them, but certainly you two have a lot better shot. If you have a Chuck Schumer controlling that gavel versus a Mitch McConnell. But even if Democrats do take the Senate, the majority remains small. More on that from Bloomberg News contributor and former McCain campaign manager Rick Davis. Just because you have the majority and you can set the agenda doesn't mean you get your gender past and their big, close sentence, close houses. It's only a 10 vote margin in the House of Representatives that Speaker Pelosi has so any given issue is going to have defections with levelers loss, Republicans must hold on to produce Senate seat to keep their hold on the chamber, though it may take days to determine the final outcome of that race.

It's because his GOP challenger has disputed the razor thin election results. Lawmakers were back in the capital for swearing in day when the Senate quickly dissolved into chaos over the Republican challenge. The Democrats called a reflection of President Trump's unprecedented efforts to undo his loss in the November 3rd election. Pennsylvania Republicans have not said how long they will take to review the election challenge before voting on it or how long the GOP majority is willing to leave that seat vacant. It's 10 22. Dr.

Man. Congratulations to Christian would the last five games he's putting MBA All Star type numbers up for the Rockets. He's a good kid, so I'm actually Very happy for him. Some people that I will not be happy for. If they win this Georgia runoff would be David Perdue and Kelly left, or I think left there is an awful human being. She didn't even want to give $600 in. Stimulus checks to her own people. Meanwhile, she owns five homes and she's a billionaire, and she dumped stocks tried to profit off the Corona bar is just an awful human being. This is David Perdue, who was asked on Fox News to speak about this phone call. But listen to David produce response. He didn't complain about the substance of the call How Donald Trump might have broken the law in pressuring these drugs, election officials to find votes. Listen to what David Perdue is actually upset about before we get t the substance of your campaign and the opponent shouldn't get your reaction to This. This tape that's been leaked your states secretary of state on there talking with the president. How do you think it's going to affect the election on Tuesday? I don't think it's really gonna affect our election. I'm still shocked that a member of the Republican Party would take a sitting president and then leaked that that's disgusting. In my view. That's his response. This is someone who you would vote into office. What a scumbag! Former representative Kelli Ward, a Republican head of Arizona said, I don't record my calls with the president of the United States. It's humbling to have the opportunity to speak with the leader of the free world. Betraying the trust of the honor of those conversations is abominable. And by the way, Donald Trump, I guarantee you he was recording the call as well. Now there are some people out there. "He's up against Republican Senator David Perdue, Emma for people who have somehow missed this news briefly give us an overview of this of this call. Yes. So the president and some of his advisers spoke with the secretary of state in Georgia and some of his attorneys and members of his offices well to talk through, it seems some of the grievances that the president has had with George's election system. Meanwhile, the secretary of State's office has really set itself apart in Georgia by refusing to acknowledge voter fraud, widespread voter fraud by saying, Look, we know that our election system was secure that no widespread voter fraud happened and this is the president. Trying. Tonto basically convince the secretary of state it seems to help him find find votes to flip the state, which you know, as the governor said last week that barn that horse has left the barn and Georgia it's It's in D C now with the electoral college vote, And so this was just Really? Um, you know, the president has been talking about voter fraud on Twitter for weeks now, but to hear it in this call to hear him lobbying. A state official like this and to hear the officials calmly refuting these claims and calmly, you know, saying, Mr President, That's not true. We we can't do that. Was really remarkable. What we got this message from David on Facebook, who says 3.5 years ago, I heard a pundit predict that following Trump's base, rather than having a core platform would destroy the Republican Party. It will be interesting to see how the party reacts. If they lose this election, Brian Kemp is wise to distance himself from it. Last week, the president once again, said Georgia's Republican governor, Brian Kemp should resign. We should mention Rapids Burger is also a Republican. How is this shaking up Georgia's establishment on the Republican side? You know, there's the morale among Republicans that I've spoken to today and yesterday is not great. Right now. This is you know, it's it's not. This is new, but it's following a path that we've been going down here. Um for Republicans in Georgia, where the president has been openly criticizing people that he used to endorse, including Robyn's Burger and Governor Kemp and really sowing confusion among Republican voters. He's telling people to vote tomorrow in the run offs, but at the same time, you know, questioning that the system and November calling it you know, saying it was fraudulent and so There's just been this whole mess of messages coming out of the White House. And the big worry right now, for Republicans, of course, is if this you know if this dissuades just a couple just a couple 1000 Republican voters From turning out tomorrow. That could be the difference in what are really competitive Senate races Give us a snapshot of the race as it stands right now. How close are these races? Really close. I mean the polling. It's the polling is has been too close to call for some time, but I think what we've seen kind of has a higher level narrative is at the beginning of this. You know these road the Republicans races to lose. Republicans outperformed Democrats in these two Senate races in November, even though Biden did narrowly carry the state. And, um, and here we are, You know, the day before the election and given the president's rhetoric and the kind of the civil war that has erupted in the Republican Party where there really wasn't one before. It's it's looking. It's looking even closer than people might assume because Republicans Air the incumbent party in Georgia, and so Republican voters tend to turn out better. They're better at voting, right Andare more reliable, particularly for races like the run offs, But you know these. These clearly aren't normal run offs, so there are a lot of people who are going to be voting now and so those those normal rules about Republicans winning run offs. Might not apply here. I'm a very briefly put the early voting numbers in into perspective Force more than 2.3 Million people have already cast their vote. What does that mean for this election? Yeah, it's it's actually grown. It's now more than three million, and that is turnout. That's below the 2020 run on 2020 Turn out, you know at this time in early voting, but we've got nearly 120,000 new voters in this runoff number. It didn't vote in the general. So that's another important number that everybody's looking at. We're talking about tomorrow's Senate run offs and Georgia with Emma Hurd POLITICS REPORTER it W A. B E. That's Atlanta's NPR station. We've building a historic coalition in Georgia that really represents the rise of New South. Since the early 19 seventies, the Republican strategy in the South has been to divide people along racial and cultural lines so that people from different backgrounds failed to grasp their shared economic and health interests. I wasn't thrilled with either of my choices. I only voted for one of the run offs because I could not in good conscience vote for either candidate. And the other for people who are concerned about the division of power in Congress. You say one party controlling the House Senate and presidency is too much power. How do you respond to that concern? Well, look. If Mitch McConnell and Republicans maintain control of the Senate, the result will be paralysis and gridlock. Think folks will remember how Barack Obama was treated by the Republican Senate. In his second term, McConnell and his caucus will exercise power ruthlessly for powers own sake. They will block Progress that we need. They will block the covert relief that people need. I mean, even right now, with a Republican president who supports $2000 stimulus checks.
