"Shut down because of mysterious people gone missing missing miners and think that says something like twenty one miners trapped in the mine which they never recovered a nice little setup to get you going into the creepy nece. I love this movie a lot because it has kind of a good sweet old school point of view camera stuff for the monster. They only had one monster four this movie and they put it to good use. It was cool. Now was the monster. That creepy can resembled a turtle. I watched them behind the scenes stuff. And and actually the shell of the turtle was kind of like look like a sheep's brain but it had tentacles like a squid or an octopus and we see a brief moments in this movie with just the tentacles and that just what kind of sets it off. Really well i really dig this movie the kills or fun it Sneaks up on you. Now these These minds supposedly have tunnels that go to the different houses in the area. Most of these houses seem to be vacant around this area. It could have built on that a little bit more but this is a small production a small movie. This was directed by james conway. James conway has twenty five producers credits and forty five directing credits He started off way early in the seventies. He did several episodes of the life. Time of grizzly adams but also came around in nineteen eighty to do hangar eighteen. Movie that we will probably end up covering in-depth on the moratorium at some time. Because that's that's a hell of a lot of fun as well matt houston. He didn't eight episodes of matt. Houston we keep bringing up matt houston because it keeps showing up. Everybody worked on that television series He also had seven episodes. He directed under macgyver star. Trek next generation star trek voyager and deep space nine as well as enterprise but he also did sixteen episodes of charmed little trivia about the production of the boo. Actually that when he met the leading actress rebecca balding who plays trish in the movie. Not trish the dish. Thank you mallrats tricia jones. They call her trish the dish. No this is Rebecca balding She's been around for a little bit. I'll talk about her but when they met they fell in love. They were actually. I believe married before. The production ended on this movie. And i believe they're still married very interesting. Now rebecca balding. She has been around for welshmen actress in forty eight different credits here including making it. Which i don't remember that was a nineteen seventy nine tv series making it. That was inspired by saturday night. Fever it looks like it was only on for nine episodes. Now david naughton ellen travolta rebecca balding nine episodes. This was touted as a comedy Comedy music which i don't recall Saturday night fever being comedy. Somebody correct me anyway. Rebecca balding also showed up in nineteen episodes of soap that was in nineteen. Seventy eight hundred nineteen eighty. Soap was wadley popular comedy. Show back in the day. We've brought up several times ac- she showed up in a matt. Houston trapper john. Md macgyver. She had a small stint tv series called paradise. She also starred in twenty three episodes of charmed of course because her husband also helped direct many episodes of that anyway. Very interesting stuff behind this. I'd also stars. fred. Mccarron fred mccarron. He died in two thousand six at the age of fifty five but he played a lot of tv stuff but he was ritchie in xanadu. Talk about xanadu a lot. I'm probably going to make jason watch this at some time because it was a lot of fun back in the day or that i remember. It could be a total disaster. Our guy fred was also in one episode of alice. Which we love to talk about. Allison mel's diner. He also showed up in class reunion in nineteen eighty two. This was a national lampoon's class reunion. Which had garrett graham stephen i we've talked about this plenty of time and also has blackie damaged in it anyway. Very interesting stuff here. Fred was also and a couple of episodes of. Gimme a break. Too close for comfort. Hardcastle mccormick scarecrow and mrs king and the golden girls. He died at a young age and it looks like of colon cancer. Cancer fucking sucks guys. This also stars and marie martin as jessica four and anne. Marie martin has been around for a little bit. She was windy and prom night. She also played a character in a nineteen seventy-eight. Tv movie of doctor. Strange this goes way back. I never seen that movie. Ns just probably fine. And she was also credited as dorsey and halloween too. I wonder if darcy was one of the nurses that came out to To the parking lot. That sounds pretty familiar. I'm going to have to look that up. Somebody correct me. that's fine. what's interesting about and marie martin. She was married to michael crichton for some time. Very interesting That was from nineteen eighty seven to two thousand and two and some more trivia. You didn't know she wrote twister. Nineteen ninety-six twister with bill. Paxton and helen hunt very interesting stuff. Only writing credit very cool. Cool shit i. She was also in two hundred ninety. Eight episodes of days of our lives so you wonder where she came around to be an actress. That's probably it. She was also in sledgehammer tv series from thousand nine hundred. Eighty six She was in forty one episodes of that she was in one episode of saint elsewhere and Episode of powers in matthew star. That i will be talking about here pretty quick again. Gotta love the boo gan's as a creepy. It's a monster movie like. I said they only had one of creatures. They only had enough money to create one of them so it was used in a manner that actually made. It seem like there were more. It was a lot of fun. I still enjoy this movie. The creature is kind of kooky. But that's why we use a lot of the point of view shots. Jim coupe is listed as the writer of the screenplay jim coup we've talked about time and time again on the moratorium. He has written some of the our favorite movies from back in the day. Which include Whitewater rebels that we covered in our spring slasher fest. He co produced secret admirer. He did stake out. He has written many things up the creek the hidden which we also covered on the moratorium. Go back and listen to that hidden episode up. The creek is probably one of the movies. Were going to keep talking about you. Guys just needing run out and watch it jim. Coup has been around for quite some time and has been taking care of us nerds four years One great part about this hidden. Jim of the boubons is yes. There was a novelization a movie tie in back in the day. They did a lotta movie tie in books. When people were actually reading books. I would love to get a copy of one of these. I think i saw it listed on ebay for forty dollars and that might be a little bit much for my budget for something. That's gonna sit on my shelf and be fondled by me on a daily basis. But i would love to have it my collection Little interesting fact. Here there is a Doomsayer always loved doomsayers in our horror movies. The ones that know what's going on and just like crazy ralph from friday the thirteenth. We have to have a doomsayer. This one His name is john lower merge. John lorimer He died in nineteen eighty six so just five years after the making of this film has a hundred and seventy four credits to his name. He has been around for quite some time. A lot of tv series but something. I didn't realize that he played nathan grantham in creepshow nathan. Grampian was father in the father's day episode. I want my cake use and.

"But then people would argue. Well come on is dead fred's coming. Yeah but i believe it. You know i just i believe the story. I guess that's the difference. I believe the story. I believed when he first came back in the hospital room. And he's telling the story about he's caught in limbo was killed. But you know he's in limbo and he's gonna be walking around like this broken. It's it's yeah it's like okay. I believe that and the way they presented it and they way they they drew it up and and and execute it. I thought it was great. And then i love like you said as he kept coming back he kept decay more and more and that made all all the sense because when they first had him come back yet just slashes in his on his head and all the honest with you when he first appeared when he first appeared with that makeup. I was more concentrating. I'm like looking at the makeup to goddess. That was a mazing makeup. It was really good. 'cause you could see the. There's like the little flap of hang lashed in any like. Oh my god. That's amazing work. You're believable and then like you said they kept. He kept he king and then the last time we see him. He's you know he's basically as a skeleton with some of the dead flesh around these like green and you know i. I think that had to happen to convinced. David naughton that he's going to change and who else to believe but his friend you know like i. I think it works that way too if somebody else were trying to convince them. I don't think it would have worked. But the fact that his friend who loved and trusted and was good buddies. You know good longtime friendship came back and said listen. This is what's going to happen but then like you said he still didn't believe it but then just things then. He kept visiting him again. And then it's really started to sink in wait a minute. Then he had these nightmares. It's like okay. I never had these before. Member even told the the nurse. I can't remember her name but like naw. The i mean i've had nightmares but nothing like this. Oh my god when they when they came in and kill the family holy shit that was nuts and and then he wakes up and she's like oh i got just the thing where she goes on opens up the curtains she gets stabbed enjoy. Holy shit. yeah. That was great cook when he first gets into hospital and all. The nurses are like all gaga or asking the orderly. You know how is he is he. Okay and he's like i. I don't know i just pull stings around i push i do great even why. Oh yeah. that's yeah yeah it just it just works and i think that's really why because it wasn't trying to be over the top goofy you know just stuff that's just not even believable To me it just the way he wrote it and the characters and the story and you know we always go back to this. You know if if you've got a good script and a good story and good actors and you execute it well and it's believable you've got something you know and Whatever you're trying to do and you know this is one of the toughest like we've talked about. This is one of the toughest films in my opinion to do. Is to combine horror and comedy. It's really tough to do that for. Maybe other people are totally cool with it. They don't get it. It's not a big deal but for me it's it's a tough one and I just remember watching the saturday going. Wow they did it right. This is this is it. this is the one. This is the one that i can just. I can tell rob it works. It's there you know and You and i may not agree on all the others and that's fine. But yeah i love landis when i saw his name pop up all giddy and i knew it was gonna be. You know. i'd heard really good things. I knew it was going to be a really decent film. How good i didn't know but Yeah i just. Diana watched it with me. She liked it. Oh yeah she was. She was down here on the couch. You know she's got this book. She reads on her phone. You know like kindle thing and She put the phone down and started watching. And you know. I told her. I don't think it's going to be really you know it's not a slasher film. It's not gonna be all gore. i mean there was. There was a little sore but not really though. I don't think well when he was getting. You know the body body scenes. Yeah very realistic. It well you know the the thing is is that you. I'm a huge. We're will fan. I love we're wolf. Move yes and I was so glad to see when i saw this movie. And i'm like oh here. We go actually another really great movie that i can add to the pile of great world movies that and then there's not many and this. It was fresh to see this. Oh cool i love. Is you know the mood for a world. Moving on just don't have to watch the original. Wolfman i was like. Oh this is good. This is has everything in it. Time that i need and And then you know you. You know like the halloween came out. And i was like. Oh my god. I love that movie and then he got ginger snaps and dog soldiers. And you know there's a couple of other ones that anthony hopkins to one. Yeah anthony hopkins was in the remake of the wolfman and how was that depending on. What's when the original theatrical release. I hated but when i saw the director's cut it so much better off. Okay really good. It's not where. I thought it could be because i think the problem was is that there was such high hopes and expectations and he had rick baker back doing the makeup effects. And it's you know it's fantastic makeup affectionate movie. It's original monster film. yes a while. Yeah because universal studios was try is on. They're still trying to do it. Reboot classic the classic and well now. They're they're coming at it differently. Yeah the miserable man. So the the newer ones like. They're doing brighter frankenstein and frankenstein and other ones They're coming at it like invisible man so it's gonna be interesting to see because i know they want to do another wolfman Because everyone was so disappointed with their remake. Yeah and it had everything going for it. But the thing is is that the theatrical release of the of that movie the wolfman they took the love story out of it doesn't work the director's cut has the love story in and it works so much better so like this movie like american world in london. You have the love story and that works and makes the film work korean. The original wolfman has the same thing it does serve. It has a love story. And that's really what the movie is about and they took adler store the other theatrical took it out of humanity differently and you're like oh it doesn't seems missing It was good but it was. You're expecting greatness. Because he had rick baker makeup. Anthony anthony hopkins in it and Del toro's in it and allow you know that's societa director's cut. If you can find it only was founded on blu ray. That was the only time. I could find it. I'll wow so you do get a chance you own it. Yes i owned all. Okay okay yes okay. Yeah But yeah the director's cut. It was like oh. God yeah there you go when you release it that that i don't know i don't understand that. Yeah but i. I can't say enough about this film. I know it. Is you know like you said it. The the combination of horror and comedy works.

"Always knew. Someday you'd come walking back through my dr. I never doubted that. Something made it inevitable evitable. So what are you doing here in nepal. I need one of the pieces your father collected. I learned hit you in the last ten years. Welcome back to film spotting with josh larsen. I'm adam our michael fills from the chicago. Tribune is with us as well. We'll michael is going to be so relieved that after this. We will not mention raiders of the lost ark anymore. But we had to play another scene there from it. Because josh we're calling. This are raiders of the lost ark. Memorial lists stars of the top five films nineteen eighty-one because i'm sorry michael. Despite your aversion to that masterpiece yes. I called it a masterpiece. It is our number one pick. We would both say it's the most. No one of nineteen eighty-one so were it. We're putting it aside. We came up with five other choices and we thought this would be a good top five to do looking back on that year as we had our sacred cow. Discussion of raiders lost ark. So michael as you look back on eighty one as you reflected. was this any kind of a good year for cinema. And what your number five. It wasn't really only a milestone year. i mean i. It didn't have you know like as i say earlier. If was nineteen seventy five. You'd have an amazing variety of of really ambitious experimental studio stuff. And then we'll be like jaws which is some people say ruined highwood. Nice i say maybe but it's a great movie. I don't care but for me number five okay you want to hear it in wanna hear it. I can't wait. Stripes starring bill murray. I love it yes. This is a tough omission from. I love and it's not much of a comedy honestly. It's not a great screen comedy It's to me. I put it on the same category as as anchorman with will ferrell. I mean that's not a particularly well written or innovative comedy. It doesn't even really hold up toward the end. I don't care the best thirty forty fifty minutes of it just still makes me laugh. I think it is such a pleasure to see. A guy like murray. Lighten the load of of of this old. You know standby genre. The military comedy And just somehow the vibe that he and harold ramos going just this to schlub who joined the are where they run into john candy and everybody else. Warren oates tough as nails. Come in and Arjun tell yeah and elmer bernstein score. It's like he's scoring the great escape again. No one told him that. It's just a bill. Murray and i i really i really think this film is the is the kind of star vehicle that we don't get often enough today. Meaning it's just something that's basically designed to prop up a a uniquely skilled comic talent and and do the job and it still does the job or all very different people. We're what to see. We're not spartans. Where americans with a capital a You know what that means that means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world we are the wretched refuse underdog. We're matz here's proof is knows as cold. There's no animal that's more faithful. that's more loyal more lovable. Then the mutt. Who saw old yeller. Yeah that was a really tough one for me to leave off at various points. It was in my top five. Because i still quote from that film. The fact is on a daily basis. Second find reasons to work stripes lines into my everyday conversation. And as i was forming this list. I was thinking back to our dance. Scenes from last week. Couldn't the big scene where they do their big presentation on graduation day. It's essentially a big choreographed seen. I actually think that could have been a contender for a great dancing. I think so too. Yeah i had this as an honorable mentioned. Definitely vintage murray for number five. Though i went with an american werewolf in london nice writer director. John landis i think of him as an exploitation director he lands just barely on the right side of the hollywood tracks but even so his name doesn't come up all that often his films come up very often his name not so much but when you think about films like animal house the blues brothers even adams recent top five honorees spies like us these persist as cult or popular classic spy. Greatest films of all time. You missed that one side like us. Michael that would slid right under their well after nineteen eighties. Blues brother's land is delivered in american werewolf in london. And now some thirty years later and this is the thing i love most about it. Is you still can't categorize it. David naughton in griffin dunne play american backpackers who encounter aware wolf on the moors of england. After this attack done is left as this walking corpse and not an comes under the werewolf curse. This is played for comedy. Mostly i would say but there's also it's full of gore and there's real horror to mow seems kind of bottle up all three of these things in some bizarrely idiosyncratic concoction and the one example. I'll give is the climax. You have to understand if you haven't seen it when not kill someone. They're left in this limbo state so they walk around like corpses. They can't really die until he's killed so the climax takes place first of all in this piccadilly circus porno theatre where duns corpse has gathered other victims of naughton so they're surrounding him in this theater trying to convince him to himself and all of this has played for comedy as they come up with different suggestions meanwhile not in starts to change into aware wolf. All this is going on and mind you. The porn movie is playing in the background. So it's at this point watching the movie realize whether this is good or bad. This is something you've never seen before and you're.

"Right also an actor David Naughton, correct. Cool. I cheated a little bit E. I did cheat because I couldn't think of who it was. But it was like you seem like a one hit wonder a little bit too. Oh, yeah, Totally. It was huge, right? Yeah. Late seventies disco era Did. That's what I was going to say. It's disco. Yeah, not the sort of thing I was listening to back then I'll come on. You know, Dave, you just around friends. You could. You could be real with us. Let me tell you, you know, I had bought the Sex pistols album by then. So that was sort of on a different plane. Put me in my place. All right, so making it to the top, But are we talking about Dave Wilson? Well, we're talking about smaller companies, making it specifically the ones in the Russell Micro Cap index. So you take the smallest companies in the Russell 2000, which we talk about all the time when we're looking at small cap US stocks. Then you throw in companies that are too small to go into the Russell by market value, and you get this micro cap gauge, And it's been on a roll lately to the point where Uh, you're seeing numbers in terms of the percentage of companies in the index above their 200 day moving average. You know that gauge of price trends we talked about all the time. Yeah, You have never seen readings like this. And I'll say that this particular index, the Russell Micro Cap goes back to 2005. So you know the highest figure you've seen before. Say last week was about 83% of the stock's above their 200 day moving average. You saw that in September. 2009 you know is the bull market was getting under way back then. Well Friday and again on Tuesday. You had more than 86% of the stocks in the index beating that 200 day moving average, so above what their price trend would suggest, and I'm just going to go back and take a quick look at where we were yesterday. And pretty much in line almost 86%. What does this mean? Dave? You're seeing some really broad based strength in the stocks. Okay? I mean, and it's consistent. You know what with sort of things you know, we talk about with the smaller companies being into man. And there's all this trading going into over the counter stocks or wherever you know. I mean, that's really what gets my attention beyond that. Mean strategic research partners had a chart out on this, and I sort of picked it up from there. It was on Twitter and their comment was this earned a wow from us. So did you. Okay? Go ahead. Finish. There you go. Second. I'm still stuck on the song. Okay, Let me just say if you want to charge the explanation that goes with it and everything I do going forward. Send me an email. D. Wilson at Bloomberg dot net. That's D Wilson at Bloomberg dot net. That's right. It was a theme song for TV. Syria's of the same name. Correct. That's where, Yeah, yeah, making it written by the same team that also brought us Gloria Gaynor's I will survive and Peaches and Herbs Number five hit, Shake her groove thing and Never what Hit reunited. That is a dream team of writers. Yeah. You really know how to work that Google. Carol, I must look, so we get to the right information. Absolutely. Hey, trust me. I mean, I can't even imagine now how I was able to get information before Google. It was just like I always think of a couple of words put him in. Okay, That's it. I know right? It's amazing how that search engine works it was released, is both a seven inch single and a 12 inch single with an instrumental version of the song titled Still Making it as the B side. Dave, is it harder to choose the song of the day or the over the chart of the day? Oh, you know, it's about equally difficult. Did you choose that one or did programmed and help you? Oh, I did. Oh, I didn't know. You think Paul Brennan's the guy who, when I sent him this song, he came back with that classic line disco. You know, socks? Really? Wow. I mean, that was the thing in the seventies, obviously, and I would have thought that it 1978. When that song came out, I probably would have thought that too, also appeared on the soundtrack of the comedy film Meatballs. There you go. And that's what Paul, remember. Don't worry. It's Tim Man. Just like a deal. I don't often see a blank face from Tim Stenkovic, but I saw it just that moment. All right, Dave Wilson, Thank you so much. Dave's gonna be back a little later on with the stock of the day. Right now. It's off to Nancy Lions in D C. Making it You know that song, right? Yeah, I.

"I remember that. Core that was like an urban legend that was just like baked into our childhood for sure, but still always a good idea I remember. Our six grade teacher told us this. Mindy, which is kind of disturbing. Now that I think of it so I remember sixth grade teacher told us that every time. She opens her car door, she. Like jogs up and down. So that one foot is always in the air. She's opening her car door. If someone's under the car, they can't slash both of her ankles. Does kind of a fucked up thing to tell sixth graders I. Don't remember that at all. Oh, I totally remember that. That's probably one of the things that. Amongst many that kind of helped. Propel me into the whole like obsession with true crime. I'm going to say I do remember that had all, but that's crazy. It's also a really good advice I guess, but fucked up as to why she would have told us in sixth grade, but okay I'm going with it. I'll remember it because we were young women who are going to be driving one day, and she wanted us to be safe or a chair, and here's a horror movie question. The follow up to prom. Why didn't you say a bit about yourself and how you came to found to this this project? Of course pleasure to be here, professor. So I'm Jessica Gould, I'm calling in from the United States. I'm currently in Florida. My background is I was an army ranger, which is a special operations position in the US army and I served that number of years including some combat deployments to Afghanistan during my time. I learned La a served as leaders of thirty plus of the Rangers had a very profound. Profound experience and when I got out as ready to re tackle civilian in professional life, so I went back in to finance, but as around those times that I really started having to contend with mental issues that I tried to ignore for while, and tried to self medicate with alcohol, and and you know just no activity but just the dark cloud. Consumed me at a point to where I just realized I had to make a major change, and the US, as many other veteran affairs around the world, and just mental health in general, are obviously very limited in what they can provide, and through my own research, and through my own journey I found a substance called Iowa which is a psychedelic compound that comes from from the Amazonian cultures in South America, and just from their profound effects. It had for me and my life it was. Obvious that this information needed to be spread too much wider audience, including fellow veterans, and so that was the inspiration and the the origin story of her car project. Come out to your story on your journey in a in a minute. So Keith, so you think we're also looking for some really puts a little bit more about yourself and yeah I'm a British military veteran. In the Parachute Regiment for eight to nine.

"It was just really spooking disturbing just her hallucinations and everything she's experiencing an outlier I wouldn't have because that's not really a horror movie though. It kind of is. I'm surprised that, that, that's where somebody would go. But it sounds like arnovitz agrees. No. I mean, there's like can we there's a sub-genre of scary, which is disturbing? And like that, that, that is a I mean that movie just you leave. You leave the theater beaten up, like by just the it gets in your brain. I got a good one, Ben Stiller in heavyweights when he cancels lunch lunch has been cancelled due to a lack of hustle. Zack you're on ESPN radio with Kevin arnovitz. What's the scariest movie scene? You got on your. Billy. Why would you salute him for that? I'm trying to move away from it as fast as I can, and you're saluting him for being terrible. No is good. And, and it beat my I was going to say when bombies mom got shot. So Zack, you're on ESPN radio. What do you got? I would say the scene in song, whether you wake up in the bathroom, and they're chained to the wall, only because I've had enough to Keila to be like, yeah. That, that could probably happen to me. Art of it. You know, I've never done saw, I've never done the saw series. I am. I am bereft. Can I ask them about basketball? Can we do that or no? Josh, you're on ESPN radio with Kevin arnovitz. Go ahead. Josh? Too scary. Things have really changed my life. The first is in the ring when they open the closet at the beginning, and the girls held head kinda tilts over to the side, and the other is the part in the descent when the cast is in the cave and this light is unsuspectingly waving back and forth, and I definitely pulled my hamstring when the monster appears in the life on the girl. You, you have any comments on those two arnovitz. Have you seen those I have not? Okay. I've not done. The other one is in. There's some like a really scary one for me. But there's just too much levity in the movie for it to be truly trees like American werewolf in London. When like David Naughton I turned into the where we'll is really scary. And again I come on where is going to go on. Do you have any idea of any comments on that? Whereas gonna go because we get to some basketball. Where's the why going on of its Rudy? You're on ESPN radio with Kevin arnovitz who didn't ask for this. And it doesn't appear to be much of a expert when it comes to scary movie, scenes, but still, we press on Rudy you're on ESPN radio. Go ahead. Right. The exorcist when the girl spins her head and then you find out halfway. My parents told me when I was having a sleepover that it actually happened in our hometown, this actually happened in Saint Louis. And it even scares you even more like, oh my gosh. This is true. This actually happened. I couldn't believe it and I was so scared, especially that the girl spinning her head and well that didn't have that didn't really happen, though. You want to know what's scary? The Knicks just signing DeMarcus cousins. That's what's scary. Brian, you're on ESPN radio with Kevin arnovitz. Go ahead, Brian. Yeah. It seems like Kevin never saw the ring. But there's another thing where Naomi watches trying to bet a horse on a ferry. And if the horse freaks out runs around jumps off the front of the ferry. Everybody runs to the back. Terrified? The ring. Sounds like it's pretty good. Joe you're on Kevin. Durant is never won. Not joe. You're on ESPN radio with Kevin arnovitz, who didn't ask for any of this. Go ahead, Joe. Granted I was like six at the time, but when move pasta dies, fuller alerts the lion. King terrified well to be, how scared were you guys in the recent? Stephen King remake in it when the kid was just standing outside of the sewer, where the clown was hiding, oh, that was that was a pretty good movie too. Well done. I'm usually not a fan of kids solving grownup problems. But it did it right..

"Short of ice Ramona came to the craft. Well, one one could only hope 'nother thing I've learned I mean feel free to jump in. But I mean, I've got another one is there's the theme of the pied piper. Which is just great because I believe one of the kids. I can't remember who it is the one who befriends the ice cream in. He's level small Paul. It's sounds like some third rate southern rapper. He's precocious and he's into this pied piper tale, it's the piper of Hamlyn believe in Germany, led the rats out of the town. And there's this constant metaphor and analogize ING of the ice cream in to the pied piper leading kids to their demise. And so that was interesting callback to maybe a soom. It's a Grimm fairy tale, it makes sense. I mean in the fairytale, look, I'm not familiar with with you. Although I do recall having a picture book of it as a kid the piper through his instrument. Does get a bunch of kids to follow him. I guess in the original version to their album it demise. And what we've got here is an ice cream man, who is poorly friend of kids with his Jonty melody that they which is of the beckoning siren call of the ice. Ref. Rocky guests kits the follow him. And although they do think they do feel this is command is a little bit. How shall we say eccentric? Yeah. I mean, they're totally excited every time he comes and. Okay. So what kids that he was leading a stray? I'm clearly conflicting Saint Patrick and his snakes with the pied piper of Hamlyn. All right. I don't know. Okay. Points out of my eyes. Fair enough. I mean, you do say that the man does have an affinity for kids. But he does any doesn't. I think he does because he really is a kid disobeyed kittens if development, but a lot of ways I don't think he was happy when he was a kid, nor do I think he's happy now. So I mean, you do get these lines like you little tourists. Gotta learn you can't run from the ice cream. Follow later on when they when the Cup start to close in on him. They started to interrupt his business says I'm I'm not for the impression I do. I'm this remand. I make children happy today. You've ruined the happiness. These children for many days. On this Africa, giving those kids happy I thought you're going to say policeman as fertilizer does this one of the great lines thing to say when investigating officers are on your premises. Maybe best leave that out. It's come up with a bunch of one liners another one of my favorites. That's what I call a brain freeze, which LaTour earlier just hilarious stuff wonderful movie. What did you learn? Well, the castles movie is phenomenal. This was releasing any five obviously, straight video idea recall this being on the suspect video you must see this wall for years using years. And for some reason, it was always one they would say, okay. Next time. I'm gonna rent it in the next I'm gonna rent it. And then next never came. So when we were discussing renewed for this podcast, and you just is crock move. We would never heard of that you meant ice cream. And let's do it. Ninety five. I mean, we we look at the cast of this movie. I mean, yes, you have David Naughton many years removed from his breakthrough role in American in London. But there's so many other actors in this movie that we've spoken about in other films on this podcast at the years. For example, David not is married to a lady Marian played by sandal Birdman, who we know from Conan the barbarian, I've got a Libya hussy again, please check out our black Christmas podcast, and we talked about back then I mean, she was key play Juliet and Franco Zeffirelli's Roman. Juliet, which was a film that they showed us in class or fifteen at that point. I do believe she was fifteen. She was also in Turkey shoot directed by good for Bryant transferred. Smith. So the and of course, black Christmas. Doug Llewellyn had a small part in this movie. I'm always sort of freaked out by words that start with two L's Lloyds Bank. It's seems wrong with probably just Welsh now, although we have never really discussed Doug Llewellyn before we all know Doug Llewellyn is the host of the people's court water review, so just gonna wear to judge twenty three dollars. God. Yeah. Now that I guess the guy from TMZ has that rule now. Right. Of course, John Michael vincit. We talked about him when we did alienate or. David warner. Another incredible. I talked about him in maybe a couple of ago. He played a Reverend by Reverend Langley kissing John reactor two hundred twenty credits to his name. We've seen him in. I've saw him recently. I watch in the madness Barbara's. He was that. He was another remind time after time how he's relevant to this podcast. Of course, he was an airport seventy nine aka airport eight all coming together, concord. So it's a veritable who the hell is that it's Jonah, but it's a really really cool eclectic cast. And and then when you put Clint Howard in there. He is definitely the leery on. Very. Yeah. Top of this ice cream sundaes that alone is worth the price of admission for this cast. There are so many great lines. I think I mentioned a number of them at one point when they are interviewing the, I guess you call them the director of the I can't remember keep free in the name, the wishing well Senator while sanitarium, he talks about howling have to three patients with compassion. Love. Only be followed by other patients screaming head off and the good doctor going. Many things. I mean this film. I've been gag where the one guy you where you don't know who's mad and who's the attending physician is the mad guy pretending to be the attending physician. So there's that and really cool inter-plays that goes all the way back. Dr Cal Gerry go. Oh, God look at that. Look at you elevating the tone of the discussion, see Lawrence. Yes. Excellent rating. Well, and before I do that. I want to mention is director of this film. Paul Norman is that you pull Norman, I don't know. Baroudi Norman, Paul Mormon. I I'm not familiar with this. And let me so I'm not familiar with this move is because this was only four into the world of major cinema other than that good. He's known for making a dull films pornographic movies. So you've got all these different elements of work here. And it also comes together to give you something that had I seen this nineteen ninety-five. I would have been all over it. I would have loved because same time in. Yeah. There are a few moments here. And there there little disturbing ish. Not really though, I mean again, the affirmation head in the Kono some body parts around. But really, I would say this child friendly horror. Oh for sure. And I would love it in ninety five. I loved it now. So I'm gonna give I can't give it four stars. Although I really want to. You know, what I'm gonna give it for good for you. What it is. Because the fact that I enjoyed this move from start to finish. I love the ice cream. I wish it would have made a sequel this movie. In fact, I believe at one point or whether it had a kick starter. Yeah. Bussed? Oh, well, maybe there's still hope maybe if this podcast becomes more popular, we can run our own little campaign to help that out up until now I would say that I isolated cone heads with Saturday Night Live. So it's interesting to see in a cone hair. And for my star rating, I'm going to ignore my Italian heritage. And I'm gonna give it three in honor of the Neopolitan swirl, which is and other great ice cream flavors. If you're sick of one you can combine it with another or you can have all three we end just scoop all the talk with. For more. Sweet delicious chat about your favorite genre cinema, particularly horror. Tune in every Friday to really awful movies podcast. And we'll talk to soon. They.

"Amigos public admission here. I floated the idea of doing animal hosts started watching it and I'm not a fan. I have it is not an I'm into raunchy comedy. I like it raunchier the better. I don't mind being offended. Nothing offends me. I I was not well written as Phil flat forming an interesting, but a huge fan of trading places in three amigos I've seen several times. I mean, Martin short comedy royalty fees. Unbelievable. I gotta say one thing right now. Doctor you don't get you've never seen spies like us. Good. Oh, I thought I thought I was being held out movies. I proclaimed to be a big fan of. But it's interesting like who else in the horror pantheon can produce indelible all-time, great horror and all-time great comedy. I can't think of anyone who would be able to handle that those dual dual duties like that. And it's interesting too because many people call this movie a horror comedy, it is funny. But it's weird because I don't want to this is not the right active because of humor I wanna see subtle, but it's not subtle humor. I mean, but at the same time, you know, what I mean like Rory is slapstick assist. There's a lot of really funny stuff in this movie. But it's it never go veers into like, let's say evil, dead two territory or dead alive. For like, the the humor is almost time for shadowing, you could say, maybe overshadowing the horror because. I think there is a lot of funniness in this. But I think a lot of the humor has to do with the principles of all the actors. They were just incredible the chemistry between Greek bromance before there was a great romance. Oh, yeah. I almost feel like I'm at the circus with my juggling. 'cause I can't for the life of me pick one not the other. There's three indelible where modern where wolf movies, maybe even four if you want to throw ginger snaps in there. We lost Albert Finney recently Wolfson, the howling and an American werewolf in London. And I thought okay, howling hands down the howling is top drawer, just beating out Wilfred, which I loved growing up, which I haven't revisited in years and years and years, and I thought an also ran with the bronze medal winner an American werewolf in London. Awesome movie, but can't compete with the two stalwarts. Now. Like, holy crap. Has this aged will because when I saw this as a kid, it was I don't know. Maybe it was the joke element of it. Almost the two humorous Tucker, Dale versus evil kind of scream kind of funny movie. And then, but there are some real internalized painful moments that the character in endures when he's changing, but that a lot of that is traditional comes to the wolf man tail because you didn't mention the Wolfman needed the universal horror with lawn Cheney junior playing Larry towel bid. And I mean, I love it. Because again, the Wolfman is or the where wills mostly depicted cinematic, by the way, the howling incredible. All moves you mentioned are haven't seen wolf in. But as far as I mean, yes, we did lose album Finney, he'll always be dying or bucks to me. Pence done some some great wonderful actor recipes for sure, but the thing about the Wolfman is again, we have so much Patos in the character because it's not someone who's inherently evil. I'm going right quite the opposite. In fact, he's so lovable David Naughton as this character. David David yet. Yeah. I'm going back to. But again, I'm I'm talking about lawn. This law similarities between Lon Chaney as Larry Talbot. And there's
