Mark Meckler Provides an Update on Convention of States
"Yeah it's been a wild couple of weeks that we reported previously Wisconsin and Nebraska passed in South Dakota We've made it through the house We made it to the Senate floor And unfortunately we had a couple of guys who called themselves conservatives who called themselves leaders who called themselves Republicans essentially hijacked the process One is all right let's slow down I want you to tell us who it is and what they did Take your time Yeah so there are two really one is the pro tem of the Thenx and one of the leaders his name's Lee shown back and he tried to kill it in committee He failed on that We smoked it out of committee And then on the floor he led the rebellion against us And he's been on the radio since Mark and one of the things that was so astounding is his claim is if you support estates you must have rocks in your head This is how bright this guy is So we show him back as one of them The other one is the guy that the name of David Johnson out of Rapid City and the way he turned a couple of guys as he threatened to hijack the Senate floor with a bunch of theater if his fellow senators voted in favor of moving the resolution forward So these two guys are here By the way David Johnson long history of protective orders against them and incident with a female senator on the floor a couple of years ago Just a real piece of

"It's amazing football stories in the back stories with it. But i i've known this since his rookie year actually before his rookie year and i very much like him. Now you know. I don't wanna talk too much about last year. That he's you do wanna talk about any kind of running game That came from houston. It's necessary to talk about last year and it's a team that has not found. Its way you know. They've lost their quarterback and everything spiraled out of control there. So i think giving him the focus of this offense is a very good move and it was late in the season last year In in many fancy players put their year to ban and may not have noticed. But david johnson had two very fine games at the end of the year and it pushed him all the way up to right at seven hundred yards rushing for the season. And and we're dealing with a guy that knows how to catch the ball and as he ran though well late in the year pushed his average up to four point. seven yards a carry. My point is this player is anything but through and i. I watched this player. Come on and off the waiver wire this year and anyone. That has him rostered. I don't think especially with bi weeks coming up. I don't think he should hesitate to start him as your number two running back because you'll be getting the kind of volume and houston play. Better ball down the stretch. And he's going to be right in the middle of it so i'm I'm far from saying that this situations lost 'cause you know. This is a new situation with a lot of problems. They're only seven games in their schedule. ten games left to go in and our schedule not as many. But there's still some useless of for david johnson moving forward. Yeah and he's probably owning a lot of your leagues right now but if you do have him if you did hang on to them especially you zero our guys out there. I think it makes a lot of sense to start looking into a flex or you. Don't maybe as past twenty-five guy that you can plunk in at running back as well That he's oh okay. You know that's right He's totally right..
2021 Running Back Rankings
"Back here ready to record our consensus running back. Rankings fellas. how are you doing. It's been a while two weeks away from two weeks and a day away. From that first thursday night football game then really jones in on some preseason football but ready for the real deal yeah same here. I'm glad to be back recording. It was a bummer miss last week. Especially with the running back episode coming up one of my favorite episodes record but like you said it was better to be safe than sorry so we took the same approach. And i'm looking forward to finally talking about the running backs and yeah like you said two weeks ago you guys. I'm excited. Preseason is great. But i'm ready for the real deal here. Yeah absolutely you know. Speaking of the preseason and running backs is there any preseason hype campos. That's kinda got you guys changing changing your opinions on any anyone player coming out of the draft. I was probably a little bit higher on michael carter than most but seen him in action and seeing the jets team definitely falling down down my rankings. There yeah. I definitely agree with you when it comes to. Michael carter was high on him. Just because of how good of a receiving back is but he's been working like as the third and fourth running back in preseason so even though we looked pretty good it worries me that you're not getting in until the end of the games right now so it's up to monitor c. H. is injury is also something that's kind of concerns me. He sprained his ankle. In the preseason game i loved the usage that they were showing and using with early in that game. But you don't want an ankle injury this close to the season. Fortunately it sounds like it wasn't a high ankle sprain so he dodged a little bit of a bullet but you don't want an injury that's close to the season so she h. Was someone who is higher up for me and he's gonna move down just slightly as we go into drafts here. Yeah one for tonight was David johnson you know the the usage there is really strange throat. This preseason. i don't know if he's been cut candidate or if he's going to make the team be and being a starting running back but that's just kind of a a lower. That was surprising. How how he's being used with. Ingram and lindsey as well so that was another another guy that i have. I lowered my ranking well. Yeah i'm super surprise there. Ingram and lindsey over david johnson. Would he has moved up in. Grammar lindsey at all then with only two backs there rather than three. Yeah i just two of them. Windy for sure. We'll take the jump. Be the one. I'd be the most excited to have. Yeah i don't think either one of them are going to move up much for me Bill lindsay would be the one that moves up slightly. But i have very little desire to get any piece of the houston texan offense. We have no desire for david johnson. So i don't think it's going to move him up much. But if it does come down to david johnson getting cut. Yeah would that would bump up a little bit for

"Ledger That essentially records the transactions fewer to boil it down even further. It's an asset with evidence of ownership So put it into real world concept so we all think about when you go and buy a car you get the car but you're proof of ownership comes through the title which is recorded with the dmv. You can think of the nfc and the smart contract behind it which is recorded on the blockchain. Which is that ledger. that i mentioned As the the title And approves your ownership of the car now just like with the car having the title doesn't actually You know it's not the car itself you can't go and drive it but if anybody questions should if you own it you have. That document approve it. When you're buying an ns t that's really what you're getting and like anything else on a blockchain. I it's there. It's supposed to be permanent record of your ownership. But unlike things like bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies. Nfc is non fungible. Meaning that it's not freely exchangeable for something else so one Big corner for one of theory is the same thing as any other. Bitcoin earthier with an nf t were really focusing on. Its unique this and while of a sudden david Have nfc's become front and center. What what's happening in society. You know it. That's funny because nf really aren't that new. They've really been around since about twenty fifteen but they entered the public consciousness. A lot. Earlier this year With some really eye-popping sales of some artwork I think the first one that really caught my attention Besides a general awareness event of teas into other earlier forms was the sale of a sixty-nine million dollar piece of digital artwork that was actually comprised of fourteen years worth of daily illustrations by an artist named people. So they've really caught everybody's attention now because you're seeing sales of the digital art through an asset that most people hadn't heard about and the numbers are up there with some of the highest sales for artwork or any other collectibles out there so it's really caught a lot of people's attention here ultimately they're important because the market says so just like the paper dollar bill you know we believe that it has value so it has value but nf represent a little bit more than just expensive collectibles. There's a lot of opportunity behind them and how they can be used So you know a lot of the attention that these early high sales artwork generated actually started creating Some thoughts and other brand owners and how they could exploit an f. T. so you're seeing things like some of the earlier uses included Use in video games for unique luke boxes or character skins or you know weapons even I think in twenty seventeen. There was a game called crypto. Kitties where you could buy and trade. A unique digital cats The nba picked up on it for Tradable collectible trading cards of sorts their moments from nba games from the prior season Through the nba. Top shots so this has been picked up by a lot of different Owners of content owners of valuable resources that wanted to find a new way to reach their market. And the the eye-popping prices really drove a lot of interest drove a lot of creators to get out into that market. And it really just spurred a lot of the New ideas around what an nfc could be and given that each of these as you need you know. They are really valuable because they're rare so effectively. You're the only one that owns what you're buying now. These can change a lot of different ways but you know this is just important now because it represents a new toy that content creators have to get out there and provide something of value to their fans around the world. So let's say. I go out tomorrow and i wanna buy an nf. T- what would i be getting in my hands or in my email box. What can i expect to see to show that. I own this. Nfc yeah so you go out. And you buy an f. t. through a variety of marketplace's user linked to various blockchain's that are out there the the most common one for nf tease the theory of blockchain But there's there's a number of marketplace's out there and when you buy the nf t- You do that by exchanging some Crypto currency for it typically And you do that. Through your crypto wallet and when you buy the nf nfc you get a registration in your wallet. Says you own this. And that's basically it so the nfc. As i mentioned earlier you have the asset which let's say this is a piece of digital art that is linked through a smart contract and it lives separate from that contract. It's not something that's embedded but you can access that through your wallet You don't necessarily get a physical copy but there are You know there are different content. Creators that are exploring ways to bring an end of real world. So for the most part you just have proof of ownership and nothing else and the interesting thing for a lot of buyers That they may or may not know depending on how closely they read the contracts. They're just getting ownership over the right to say that they have the ability to display that one and f. t. it's essentially a license It's you know similar to a seat license and sports or You know it's i p Licensor is you know anything using the ip. That's in a contract there. But you don't get the most of the time she don't get the copyright so you have very limited rights and what you can do with this other than you know. Showing it privately for the most part holding it in their Digital wallet reselling it and then essentially having bragging rights that you own a multi million dollar asset what about the ip issues intellectual property with respect to content creators. How does that sit into the analysis to content. Creators really have a lot of Leverage and a lot of risk in ip market space This is an opportunity for people who had created things on the internet. That largely were circulated without you know necessarily getting value There's you know for people creating new art it's a way to reach a different market and sell things and you know really get exposure In a way that and get value from that they maybe not They maybe weren't able to get before so if you're a content creator going out there you wanna find a marketplace that will you allow you to sell the work the way that you want to You know you're considering housi- marketplace advertises the nf t to the public and you know what it describes that they're getting with their purchase. So you know fair implying that they own the artwork and they can do whatever they want with it. Maybe they're leading a buyer to believe that they're getting the copyright You know the content creators also want to make sure that when they are licensing their ip either for someone else to create An ft's or if they're minting an tease themselves which the term for their creation processes minting If they're admitting it themselves they wanna make sure that the smart contracts behind the nf us are carefully regulating. What the buyer is allowed to do it so you. You wanna make sure that it's a license an t. Not an assignment of ownership of the copyright assuming they want to retain it You know there. There's also you know that's part of the process of going out and selling the nf t but there are all sorts of you know with any other As with any other kind of intellectual property there's risks of bad actors going out there and minting and fte's of our creators own works so if you're a content creator out there there's new arena where you actually have to go out and be proactive and making sure that somebody else isn't misappropriating. Your copyrighted work or you're if you're a major brand that has trademarks trademarks or anything like that. So it creates a new wrinkle for content creators to go out there and make sure that what they have created is in being counterfeited by third. And for the most part the Marketplace's do try to verify that the sellers are who they say they are and that they own the rights that they have but some of the early ways of verifying identities was through checking. You know somebody social media usage to make sure that you know they represented you know who they say. They are now just like any other identities out there. It's not that difficult to spoof an identity of social media account or somebody else and trick one of these marketplaces so there's all sorts of unauthorized Reproductions of copyrighted works out there There's also people that may have believed they had rights to do things that they don't have There's an early anecdote of Dc comics going after a well seeing that one of their former illustrators had made one point eight five million dollars off of selling and fte's featuring dc characters and dc headed then go around and inform their creative teams and they're freelancers that going off in creating an fte's with their characters was a definite. No now so you know. Even if you're the company employing the creators you have concerns here going out and monitoring making sure that people aren't doing things that they're not supposed to do and you know for the most part because these are really novel marketplace's some of the traditional tools that Ip lawyers and brand content owners have used to monitor their ip rights don't necessarily cover An f. t. marketplace's news. You're using something like a watch service that may not get to the level of an nfc marketplace to a lot of this is really manual. It's hard to find and if you're not somebody who's thinking about selling it Selling an f. t. directly you may still experience all of those risks There's also there's interesting news that comes out Just this week. I think Where damon dash. Who's the co founder of rockefeller records wanted to sell an nf t- that included the copyright for jay z's Debut album but he is a co founder of the company and the company believes that it owned the asset which was the copyright. So there's even a dispute doing the company and the co founder over what they can do. There's a lot of ambiguity here. it's kind of an interesting space that hits on a lot of the interesting things that got us all into intellectual property But you know it's new and we have so much that's yet to be seen in how Ip rights will be affected and the consideration set content. Creators will have an how they can even go. Back and enforcer rights or claw things back if you know in unauthorized work was sold as an f. t. before the creator was aware of it. What about from the perspective of marketplaces in buyers. What are some of the issues that are being talked about these days. Sure yeah so the the marketplaces themselves definitely want to ensure that the content that's available for sale is something that is reliable They want to know that the person selling it has the rights to do so but just like a lot of commercial contracts you know when you sign up to join the marketplace and what you're minting. Nfc's you're making representations and warranties that you have the rights that you say you have so ultimately the marketplace is going to kick it back to the person minting nf to you know if there's any sort of copyright infringement or trademark infringement from a pr perspective you know. Of course it's bad for the marketplace. Not only to be infringing creator's rights or you know aiding somebody to Infringe those rights. And it's it's going to become a complicated issue where an nfc gets sold and it's purchased through you know using crypto currency It may be through a user. Who's under a pseudonym. We don't necessarily know who they are And you know the person. Sorry the person minting it may be under a pseudonym We may not know who they are. And so if this is sold as a counterfeit somebody is the buyers out a lot of money. Potentially the marketplace is going to want to refund that because it wasn't their fault and they may not be able to go out and find the person who minted the actual. Nf t. so there's gonna be some interesting issues And frankly. I can't wait to see some of this future litigation. Yeah definitely be fascinating. I was thinking about that as you were talking about. You know things that are happening. There's many opportunities. I think that are will be reading about a where. Parties may Litigate over ownership and other things So it stuffing something to to watch out for what about from the perspective content creators. if you're a content creator a what can you do today to protect yourself and there's something like that a content creator should be looking at to get involved in the space as things develop You know as with any ip. The first step is to be vigilant. You know no white ip right you have and try to monitor those as much as possible This is easier said than done if you're a small creator if you're you know big corporation like the dc comics. That i mentioned they have more resources they can put staff on reviewing the marketplaces for new drops. You know they're going to see what new. Nf teas are coming out You know they have more of an ability but if you're a content creator you definitely want to look at all the different avenues. You have to protect your intellectual property and that's where this is actually not that different from you know any other. Ip rights that are out there so if this were physical work versus digital You know through blockchain. This doesn't really make a difference anymore. So you have a lot of ways of trying to protect yourself. Vigilance is the first making sure that you know. Unwanted sales don't happen and if you notice that you have our work on a marketplace that's up for auction For an nfc you can actually send a dmca notice to the marketplace and it seems that a lot of them are honoring those right now. They don't want to be involved in selling something where you know the person minting and he didn't have a right chore. So that's your first step. Get that content. Taken down There's other proactive things that you can do as well You know registering your copyrights always a good idea. it allows you to go and you know sue if somebody is infringing. The copyrights in federal court You know but you can also consider the other forms of ip protection if you have a you know particularly novel way of the nf t for example the nfl the nba top shots uses a almost a cube frame for their Highlight an f. tease. And that's different. From how anybody else presents it so that might be something that could be protected through. A design pat You know if you are if you know you're going to be entering into the market and selling an tease. You can obtain trademark protection for those in fte's so you know there's all sorts of brand owners out there that are engaging in this I did a search not too long ago and saw that fender guitars has trademark applications related to an tease for their stratocaster trademark or for the fender trademark There's also applications out there for people that you may not consider May be more obvious than others but saks fifth avenue is putting out trademarks or nf. Tease kiss. The band has trademarks. Urs has applications even the andy warhol foundation. Maybe a little more obvious in that sense but you know. These are all strategies that content creators can pursue. And it's just one more avenue to protect your rights. If you're going out and selling the nf nfc's maybe you missed the initial copyright ground. But you know you weren't able to stop it with dmc a notice but if you need to pursue somebody who's infringing rights you know any. I think any attorney would advise you wanna have as strong of A case as possible and it's not just necessarily limited to your copyright can also fall under the infringement of design patent maybe a utility pad and if you have unique ways of presenting marketplace for example or the trademarks. As well david were getting near the end of our interview. I have a question that is what other applications might be out there for. Nf tease beyond collectibles. What's next for an nf t. In other words you know. Nfp's or something that has been a challenge to wrap my head around. Because every time time. I think i have it. I hear of a new idea so you know. Nfc's can really using a lot of different places is not just collectibles. Not just artwork. It's you know digital trading cards. It can be things like video footage. songs you could you know even sell individual tracks t- Just to almost a digital rights management software to record who actually owns it You can you know. Pursue things like event tickets to verify that somebody's actually holders that can be rewards exclusive access to different things There's even creative people that are using. Nf teases digital tokens. That can be exchanged for real world things. So there's a san francisco street artists. I liked called finch who is using the nfc as a token that can be exchanged for physical copy of the exact same piece of art. And then if you don't want the you don't wanna be possessing a physical copy anymore. You can turn that back and get the digital token again I even have seen things of one of the betting companies creating digital dna for racehorses for digital horse races and gambling It seems that the ideas behind teas are limitless at this point. So anywhere any place where you have an asset where you want to track ownership and you want it through this immutable ledger. That is blockchain. that's all ripe To be an nfc. David this is really fascinating. I'm sure we'll be reading about developments in technology in the months and years to come. Wanna thank you for being a guest today on the ip. "So that's what my robot platform is used for now. I only build robots with kids because kids are the best gives you the best of the best imagination for building robots And then are also. I wrote a a young adult novel with a friend of mine called wizards and robots and i like to joke. Can you guess what it's about. But it really is about this century spanning battle between wizards and robots in the robots are actually based on my real robots. They're based on fact in the wizards. The magic is using quantum physics. So i actually worked with dr paul davies at asu who's my favorite theoretical physicist. Yes i have a favorite theoretical physicists. And he and. I worked out. How could you use quantum physics and quantum mechanics. You kind of explain magic and how magic was working and the reason why we did that was to be able to then put that together into a science fiction story really fun. There's lots of battles and things like that. But the core of it is based on facts so that we could go to these young minds and actually have them read the book and have them really liked the book but then lean down and crisper to them by the way it's all real and say by the way it's all based on quantum physics and engineering robotics. Wouldn't you be interested in that because the idea was to get these young minds really interested in engineering and science and specifically to get young ladies interested in engineering. We've been using it as a tool to do that. So yeah i like to use science fiction in lots of different ways because it it really. It's that language that we can use to talk about the future so one story i hear a lot is huckabee. Rich particularly people who want to achieve financial independence and retire early. So how can people be rich. Joe i know was hoping you would ask this. This is the. I think for our conversation today. Something that i think is is really helpful for folks and i think it will really illustrate when we talk about this type of thinking in this kind of detail about kind of the future you and and how you think about things. So you're right so you go to people especially when you talk about financial planning and retirement and i have talked to people about this. I write about this in the book. And i say okay well. Who's the future you would you want during the future and people like. I don't know we'll let let me ask you a question. I always do this with people. Say do you want to be rich. They look at me and they're like what. What are you talking about as i do. You wanna be rich so in your future you do. You wanna be rich again. They look at me. Like i'm crazy and i'm like yes or no no. Yeah okay yeah. I wanna be rich great awesome. That's awesome thank great. What kind of rich. And i pause and i and i look at it was. I won't details here unit. Tell me the story about the future. You can't just say rich. That's the worst story ever like. Tell me what kind of rich and no one's ever been asked that before and so there's gotta look at me so it's okay. Let me ask you this. Do you wanna be yacht rich. And they're still puzzled. I'm like do you want to be yacht rich. Do you wanna be so rich that you have a yacht not a boat. None of dinghy not a fishing boat but like a yacht..

"I'm not frightened. I've already thought about this now. I can start taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen. Appreciate your ray also about. That's wise to think about two futures. The one you want in the one you want to avoid. Tell us about another pair of the you write about purpose in pleasure. Oh yeah so. That's a part of that so oftentimes with people when they're trying to think about the future bay can't 'cause no one's asked them before no one's actually come and again given them permission to kokomo. Tell me about your future. Tell me what you want again as a futurist and super humbled by the fact that i get to do this with people and they tell me and i take that very serious and so i go with folks in and oftentimes. It's really hard for people. I write about this in the book. Joe i mean it's oftentimes the hardest question for people to answer. Who is the future you not. Who do you wanna be or would you wanna be when you grow up or even what do you want to do with retirement. But tell me about the future you and so oftentimes as a exercise and there's a lot of exercises in the book and a lot of questions as you can see. I always ask a lot of questions of people because it's all about them to the i don't know their future. I can help them up by using this process but only you can know your future and so oftentimes people if they if they don't really have an idea of what they want. I'll actually ask them. Well what's the future you don't want and going back to what dennis sending a lot of people know that a lot of people really know if future they don't want but what they don't do going back to that fear thing is they. Don't get into the details. They don't get into kate. What does that really mean. So what does it look like and dende during the last year or so with the pandemic..

"We there. And if you're they're awesome job if you're not there okay fine. Let's figure out what we need you to get you there so i think in that way. It's it's allows for a level of transparency as your progress towards that future. You in that vision that you want. I think the Adding that that step are you talking about. What can you do monday. What can you do the next day. The smallest steps did you take can be the most significant thing you do to get you going right down this path and breaking it up this way. The way you suggest is is is very powerful. Appeal help people get started. I think that's a really really good action steps for people. Who do they says in. The funny thing with that is right. Those monday steps are usually the easiest logistically mentally the hardest people to do. And it's funny because you just start saying okay. Maybe you need to find a financial planner. Great we'll get on the internet and just start looking them up or go call somebody who has one and find out about their financial planner or even just make an appointment doesn't cost anything and just talk to them right. And there's these things that people like. Oh you could do that. That's okay. yeah it's not gonna cost me. Anything might take a little bit of time but just make sure you've got time to do it but it's so funny that that oftentimes some of those really simple steps mentally for people are just hard to do but the moment they take that first step dennis. That's where they start getting over that inertia they're like. Oh yeah. I can't do this. Okay all right. I am making those right moves right that type of thing so it's always good to see. That's one of the reasons why. I love doing this with folks and part of the reason why i wrote the book. Is you just see people light up when they realized that they have the power to do this us. Great point overcomes the fear to the initial fear. Breaking that ice with a small step can really start to create as you're mentioning a new momentum and the those subsequent steps become much more achievable in joe there is that an. I always try to find stuff that against not gonna cost you money not gonna take any time right. You don't have to sell the farm or you don't have to do all that those things that people could do. And it's not going to have a huge impact on their lives again monotonous. Thome the spend money not tone to do that. But it really. It's that meaningful step side right that idea just to go back to. We said before that idea of you know look up a financial planners put some phone calls on the calendar and have some phone calls to take a little bit of your time and it won't cost any money but in people all of a sudden they. They are uncomfortable but again the moment that they do it they feel that power but then they also see again back to what we were talking before when the back casting. Oh i've actually. I'm on my way. That's one of the things that i am always fascinated with folks as well. Is that the moment. They take some of those initial little steps. They're already started. And i can tell you right now if your listeners. If you're really seriously interested in doing this and you know in you in your. Listen to joe and dennis about this stuff. You're already on your way you've already started towards the future. You even the fact that you're listening to this podcast and it really. Is that simple..

"And so i was in manhattan talking to a colleague of mine and we brought me and talk to his daughter and his daughter wanted to be a cpa. And you know. I do a lot of work and technology. I come out of silicon valley and is going to be a lot of artificial intelligence coming in a lot of machine. learning and with. That are already starting to do that. You can now have a computer your taxes for you. So kind of the c. P. as of today or kind of like the travel agency the nine hundred ninety s where that was completely disrupted by the internet so he was really worried about is daughter because she was in schools in studying to be a cpa and an accountant. Anyone who wanted to kind of do a futurist intervention into his daughter's life because he was worried that she didn't wanna make sure that she could be employed in. So i go and a meter chat with this young gallon. Obviously she's whip smart and super smart and we're talking about stuff and we just start the conversation and i'm dan and i'm doing my future staying and i'm saying nobody artificial intelligent machine learning. She stopped me. she's no no no no. I know all that. I'm going to be the cpa. Who then gets the a is to replace all the other cpa's so she had already had a plan. She had already future casted that she knew that she had the knowledge so that she was actually going to work with all those machines. She already had a plan. She didn't need a futurist at all. I love that phrase futurist intervention sea mentioned before about the details the details matter and that was one of the big surprises for me in reading your book the future you. I'm thinking big picture. So you mentioned that this is very specific and you mentioned earlier back casting talked about future gassing hottest back casting work so you right joe so the thing about future kassy's you say it is all about those details as we've talked about an and the details number one again help you inhabit the future and and see it in a way that you maybe wouldn't have normally seen it might give you information and data like mentioned before like if you i was kind of joking a bit about what it might be like. You know when you wake up on a tuesday when you're seventy years old and your retirement but where you live will matter and again will you like maddux. We live in a house with a lawn or not with a law. Will you again. Will you be volunteering. Will you still want to be worth..

"You probably won't want to listen to just by yourself. you want to bite your future self. You may want to compare notes a little bit along the way our guest. Today is. Brian david johnson. He's the author of the new book of the future. You break through the fear and built the life you want. Brian david johnson has made the future his business from two thousand nine to two thousand sixteen was intel corp.'s. I ever futures. Currently is a professor at arizona. Governments militaries corporations academics nonprofits in startups. Tell them vision. Their future and his no nonsense techniques can get you the retirement. You want brian. Thanks so much for joining us joe. It's great to be here. So what does a futurist do. What do you not do as an applied futurist. That's a great question. So i think for most of your listeners. One of things. I don't do as i'm a futurist. Who refuses to make predictions so i don't predict the it's my job as an applied futurist to look ten years out to work with organizations and individuals to look at a range of possible and potential futures both positive and negative and then turn around and look backwards and say okay. Well if this is the future you want and this is the future you want to avoid. What steps do you need to take today tomorrow. Five years from now to move towards that positive future in away from the negative future. And what are some common misconceptions that you see people having about the. I think the biggest one is that people think the future is fixed. You know the future's not some point on the horizon that.
Receivers to Target in the Late Rounds of your Dynasty Rookie Draft - burst 05
"Was drafted another god. I'm fairly high on From clemson at cal. I'll let you discuss him. I think about what rogers. I'm not nearly as high on rogers as they consis I think a lot of people saw him when he went to green bay. I think everybody's been so ready for the green bay packers to have another wide receiver inserted in the draft. You know and we're just intimidating in anticipating but you know. I really don't think amari rogers profiles is the number two wide receiver in the fact. That rogers is a situation is so up in the air to say the the to say the least you know. I am not projecting broader. You're gonna be there long term and if that's the case you know is jordan love gonna be all support a wide receiver you know. Are we even sure that amari rogers is better than allen. Lazard now is dead fund as the guy that they went out and got in free agency it to be the number to receiver going into last year before he opted out. You know he's back on the roster as well and he's only twenty seven years old. I think people are really forgetting about devin. Funchess to be honest with you You know this is a guy that has already been a top twenty wide receiver in his career. So i think there's a lot more competition in green bay than a lot of people are are are getting Giving them credit for and The roger situation really makes me uneasy. Amaury writers has some talent. I i just don't think he's anything special. I just think that he's at best a middle level starter of the nfl. And i don't see much of a window of him being much higher especially as long as davante adams is on that team. 'cause i just don't see that the target share i mean it's a. It's a team that clearly wants to run the ball as much as possible. So i'm not nearly as how marta riders. I i know a lot of people are people are taking them in mid second rounds now and i think that that's a mistake. I think he was the best of water. She would come out clemson for the tape stuff that i watch. Those are good points. There's a reason as to why. I say fairly high. It's because i have a lot of the same reservation that you do. But and i do. I'm generally concerned about aaron rodgers in the future in green bay with the quarterback situation. But i have to look back at amari rogers talent and what he did in his last year and clemson and what he did was ball out in my opinion. Seventy seven receptions. Thousand twenty yards seven touchdowns. Yes he had. Trevor lawrence thong him. The ball but still in a shortened season are very impressive. Numbers and amari. Rogers is a guy that has pretty much been undervalued this entire process and now all of a sudden he's going green bay people hiding him and i'm not high on him because he's going to green by on more high in him because of the talent and the potential that i see and i do think that he has the potential to be the number two receiver in green bay S a good gig. Because even if aaron rodgers is not there in a long term disturbance excellence head coach matt floor and they still have a quarterback enjoy jordan love and we really don't we haven't seen much from during love so we can't make a lot of assumptions. But he was still you still first round pick in an quarterback the has a lot of potential people were comparing him to patrick mahomes and he. He was more of a quarterback they just needed to be developed. So i think that. I think that there's a good chance that jordan love could turn into a successful quarterback if the packers ended up do and not Having rogers under center. So i think the during the love isn't a terrible option there and lathered and function function all could be a lot number two receiver in that office. But i think long term that amari. Rogers is the better prospect for may so that is why i tend to be a little bit higher on the mar bader's

"Workload he gets doesn't get it. I still like the floor. Like i still like putting him in my line of every week. I don't mind it he. He's better than a lot of options. And like i say when you when you look at where he finished last year in a year that you would say him and this was underwhelming. This is underwhelming. This an underwhelming season by all accounts only played twelve games. The team was terrible. I mean you know if he can be almost top twenty in a down year for a team as long as they continue to get him workload and he stays healthy he should stay in that range or better. I mean if you look at. He had almost one hundred eighty points last year. No one had two hundred points until like thirteen antonio gibson so between fourteen and where johnson was at the difference wasn't much and if he played fifteen games sixteen games he would have been up there he would have easily have been up there so if you ask me. Hey is a healthy david johnson. A top fifteen back. Yes he is he is. There's no question about it. He's fifteen back when healthy but if you can buy him right now the outside of the top twenty renan back or even less kosolin doesn't believe in him at all at this point that he's old he's it's over the houston a great right now. They're gonna use. Lose the shawn watson if you if you want. Tell me at that price. Come on bro. This is a by. This is where you get and by. This is where you jump in the spot and take advantage of something. It never hurts to have a guy like david johnson on your team in this. These are the guys you bet on. These are the risks and the shots you take. This is one of them while people are making other bad decisions. These are the good decisions easily. Calculated risks that. You take on a player and you go you know what if i can get him for the right price right now. He's totally worth the investment and especially man. We have to understand again. I i like to talk about the mentality. A fancy players and the culture fancy player is no different than stocks. Snow different than sports cards. It's no different than nba. Top shot is no different stuff. We are a culture of people who move fast. Who are whatever is the latest and greatest. We want part of that. Whatever is the exciting buzzword. We want it amy. Johnson is not a buzzword. David johnson is not exciting to people to too many people. his time was coming on. He's when when you look at clyde edwards helaire. Jk dobbins d andre swift. Those names a way better than david. Johnson zimmerman. I hold much more valuable. Because i mean obviously dynasty is legitimately makes sense right and all their value should go up. I value their performance. I would. I would hope you know improves next season. But there's names that you know are in that area that i feel like david. Johnson's floor is better than them. Or just as good as them and his ceiling is is is a good place so yes. Let's wrap this episode up. Do johnson's gone. I don't know what's going to happen to him. I don't care. But david johnson is still like so i will continue to ride on this david johnson. Train all aboard. I'm with it. So if you're a david johnson supporter. I see you my brother. I'm with you on this train to take this to the top. I will continue to to to you know to to be a to be a fan and supporter again. I'm not being delusional about this. I'm not being delusion on nakazono. David johnson's tough. I've running back. I'm not gonna do that. But johnson is the top fifty runningback. He really is he's healthy. He's toughened team. Roundabout facts. no question about it. Could you go higher than that. There's it's potentially possible man. We'll see what happens. Houston i don't wanna get ahead of myself. But i believe david johnson isn't afraid better season just off of games played next year if it happens there's always a chance of injury. I can't predict it. There's always a chance at his. His situation changes all together. But as long as houston stays. Believe in him. Which i will. I think they will. Because they traded form trade the hopkins or not gonna just wanna let this you know guys want to be a one and done type of thing to believe so i feel confident that hussein use the next year. I feel confident that he'll get the workload next year. I feel confident that he'll be hopefully healthy next year. And if all those things. Play out there for me. David johnson's atop the team. That's all i hope. You guys have a great weekend other than as always great.

"Would risk the credibility and reputation of the lenders. Podcasts by dedicating episode johnson. Are you crazy. I probably would do something like that. But i'm not going to do that today. I'm not gonna do that. He was cut today by the houston texans and it is what made me think about our subject for today our topic for today. Which is david johnson. John have you been listening to this show for a long time. Now if you're a longtime listener Gas you know that i'm a big supporter. David johnson. that i've been a fan. That i've been i've been pulling for him even in seasons where you know his last year in arizona when the team was dogging him out and not leading a play and and and and pushed him aside for no reason at all in josh. Natoma here telling me that he's injured. And you know it's a you know affects of injury that he's knock interplay and i said it's not that man just ice boy out to just ice in amount. That's all there is to it. I was right then. He got traded to houston last year for deondraye hopkins. That trade did not make sense. Then it doesn't make sense now and it never will make sense ten years from now as much as i like david johnson bat trade doesn't make sense. It doesn't because i like deondraye hopkins just as much more and it just didn't make sense. Nothing added up there. But that's besides the point. It's not what today's episode is about. I wanted to you know for friday's episode. Kind of break down the david johnson situation and just kind of see what he did last season where he's at and kind of look at what we can. You know what we can imagine for him going forward now. I i wouldn't say david johnson is old He's been a league for about six years. I believe so not old. I think he's still got plenty left in them. The question is will a team. Allow him to prove that to display that. If we look at last season he finished twenty one ever running back. Npr score which is kind of surprising when you look at the names around him above him. You have names like D andre swift chris carson ronald jones below him. You'd have names like clyde edwards helaire miles sanders and jk dominance so a big thing stands out here. If you're looking at johnson's numbers is he only started. Twelve games last season Those are due to injury and everything that happened and david. Johnson hasn't had many seasons where you know he started all sixteen games I think the two of them. Maybe where you started all sixteen. So he's had some injury issues here and there. But i'm not i'm not gonna get into the injury side of things because we can't really predict that what i will say is when you think about the fact that he only played in twelve games and still finished twenty one around those guys who also if you look at their game started also played you know fourteen thirteen twelve games so there's little theme in that area and that area of running back That set that eighteen to twenty three range. You know They they played a similar area games. Whether zuhdi injury whether it's going to be you know bench for starter whether it's being you know a vet taking more of the starts and the game over them it depends on many things right But is an interesting spot. Because it's not really that bad. And when you look at david johnson's numbers last year. He had almost seven hundred rushing yards. He had six rushing touchdowns he had over three hundred receiving yards to receiving touchdown so eight touchdowns total and over one thousand yards all purpose right. So is that what you know. Is that what we really want out of him. That like you know. Prime david johnson note. david johnson has had really great years. Actually if you look back to the only two seasons where he played all sixteen games for arizona the one year he went absolutely nuts. Right over two hundred rushing yards sixteen touchdowns Almost thousand receiving yards was not hundred and then four touchdown. That's crazy. it doesn't eighteen. He played sixteen games. He had almost thousand rushing yards seven touchdowns almost five hundred receiving yards and three touchdowns not bad not bad right so i mean if you say to me. Hey a healthy. David johnson could put up close to a thousand rushing yards. And could you know. Do the four hundred receiving yards with two or three touchdowns. I love it actually do love it. It's there because you've seen him do it more than once. He wasn't crazy off last year. Those receiving numbers were pretty pretty decent. He didn't have lots. You didn't allow receptions like compared to pass those big years. He had he at eighty fifty Healing had thirty three receptions last year so it was kind of a you know that that that was a bigger difference In comparison and obviously the the are different. 'cause placing games but The thing the thing we're dj here is what's happening with his team. Right like deshaun. Watson is trying to leave. It seems like he's going to leave again. Doesn't seem like he's gonna stick around to find out how this plays out. There's a lot of new things happening there in houston and you have to wonder like are they gonna keep david johnson. He's going have to take a pay. Cut no question if you want to stay and you you gotta figure is he gonna say if he doesn't stay in houston. It might be the worst thing for him if he leaves. Because i don't know if i'm going be asked comfortable in any other position and the other team for him for like that team was in a give him the reins teams any. Give him all the carries on and not even saying that houston would because they may draft a young running back or you know find some help say that do go but the situation for the team is just kinda. You know it's iffy. It's in a weird place. And so this is one that you're gonna wanna wait and see on how this plays out but before then this is your window. If you want to acquire david johnson. Now it'd be it because if you wait too long the situation like it really good for him or he could get traded and when he gets traded. It doesn't matter whether the situations better not people. Some people will still be more excited about it. Because it's something happening you know it's fresh doing. They wanna trade it for david johnson. They weren't gonna use innocent people get so whenever there's movement and news people get excited so you're gonna you know. The price is typically going to go up to way where situation Which is possible and asked the beauty of fancy football and life. You're playing with his balance so if we're just looking on the surface i emma david johnson fan again. This season i may buyer a johnson going into the season on my teams. I will try to acquire him up. Because i think he's got a safe floor. I think i think that's what it is. The ceiling is pretty good. You know dependent on the amount of opportunity and.

CONFERENCE PREVIEW: The ACC has Virginia in the catbird seat, with Duke, North Carolina, Florida State and Louisville all giving chase
"So in our rankings, it goes Virginia North Carolina like you pointed out after that it's Florida State Louisville but you had those in The Opposite Order Louisville Florida State I. I think you can argue either way, but you mentioned you talk to the North Carolina staffer. Recently, I talked to somebody at Florida state. Within the past week and they were openly wondering if they if this team. was going to be better than last season's team and last season's team of course, won the ACC, and so I take that for whatever it's worth but. In Tallahassee they think they've got a they think they've got a team that's going to finish. Fifth in the fourth or fifth in the ACC. What's interesting here is I know and Louisville's also. I think quietly really in on their roster I. think There's a line after Florida State and Louisville another tier if you will. When we get to the teams after that? I listen. I. Have Been Wrong about FSU LIKE I say it was good humor here but be tournament picks or general projections I have been off on Fsu more often than been correct. Efficacy was twenty, six and five when the ACC last season and lost Trent forest loss Patrick Williams lost Devin for cell I mean those are the teams four best players they're not that it doesn't still have talent but. That would be just a hell of a deal there. If Leonard Hamilton could make that happen to combine them with Louisville, real, quick I I actually think. It's I think that Louisville can be close to what Lewis last season it was ninth and Ken Palm. It went twenty, four seven it loses all five of its starters but. I just again legit because we're doing this in real time like just like David Johnson Samuel Williamson are are two names that are that in my opinion need to be on our top one, hundred one players and then they bring carly. Jones in from Radford who apparently might be their best player and You know it could be a twenty two point. Game Guy. is going to have a different look to them this season. The top of the ACC is totally fascinating I. Really do think it's Virginia and the other four we've mentioned. Almost, put them in any order. I can't quite see Louisville being top team in the league I can't get there but I think it could be super competitive and everyone below Virginia they're is GonNa make for an interesting race we had in our voting Miami coming in at six and then Syracuse at seven and it's interesting like. Last season I remember talking about this briefly and then you know pain. Democrats and everything's over. So whatever. But. Here's Syracuse. Again picked seventh in our preseason poll ACC poll. In terms of the panelists, some people had them as low as nine. I think you had eight I had him seven. So I'm more of a believer than most but. How many times do you think Syracuse has finished in the top five in the ACC in the past six seasons? Trivia Thanh. Say Zero Zero is the answer two, thousand fifteen eighth two, thousand, sixteen, Ninth, two, thousand, seventeen seventy, two, thousand, eighteen, tenth, two, thousand, nine, hundred, seventh last season six, zero, top. Top five finishes in the League Past Seasons there are twenty, eight and twenty, eight in the. Past. Three seasons they had a surprising final four in two, thousand sixteen and a surprising sweet sixteen in two thousand eighteen. So that Ma- ask some of this, but it is undeniable that. For, one reason or another you know that's one of the biggest brains in college basketball and it hasn't been operating like one of the biggest brains in college basketball lately,
Bill O'Brien: Head coach fired by Houston Texans
"Coach Bill O'Brien has gone from the Houston Texans and nobody can say they're surprised last January. He had his team up twenty four nothing over the chiefs in the playoffs then got outscored fifty one to seven. But as a coach O'Brien can at least say he won four division champions in six years. It's as a GM that he made. You scratch your head in one year he traded former number one picture Davey clowney to Seattle he traded two first round picks a second round pick for Laremy Tunsil and Kenny stills and the whopper of the mall. He traded the Andre Hopkins to Arizona for running back David Johnson as of now. Johnson is thirty seventh in the League in rushing and Hopkins leads the NFL in receiving. Yeah. That'll get you fired but not as fast as an oh four start despite having to Shawn Watson and Jj Watt on your team a heated argument with what may have been the last straw for O'Brien. Then again, have you ever stood next to Jj watt they can't say O'Brien doesn't have courage. He just doesn't have a job anymore.
Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup
"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.

"10 to the five and he sticks the ball across the goal line with his left hand for the touchdown. David Johnson scooting in over the right side. And it's a touchdown for the Texans. They take a six nothing. Li give you this his first tedious attacks in and the first TV of the season. And in that moment, all the Bill O'Brien defenders, both of them. Looking to crack back on everybody who bashed that David Johnson trade All came flying in at once. Listen, I've got nothing against David Johnson. I've always liked him a lot. Good, dude. Good dude. And the conversations I've had with him on this program have been great, and that was a nice TD run. Don't tell me that That was not a horrible trade or that we need to give him more time to No get out of here with that. That was a horrible trade at the time that it was made and as good of a dude as he is, and as good of a run is that Wass? It was a horrible trade when he scored And it's a horrible trade right now. I mean, stop. But that offense look to you last night overall, did it look better than it did last year? In fact, overall How did Houston look to you last night? Yeah, I know. It's only one game, but they looked very similar to me last night. Only worse in the playoffs. They showed up in Kansas City. They jumped out to a lead, Then they got hammered. Last night, They jumped out to a seven nothing lead, and then they probably gave up 31 straight points. Man that is so bad that it's so bad. It's good. That is terrible. That is so terrible. It's incredible. You would think an offense with Dijon Watson will four and some of the other weapons they have might stumble their way into a field goal or something to break up a 31. Nothing run or you think that defense I'd be able to get off the field even once or twice to give the chance or give the offense a chance to start rolling, But they couldn't do that either. When the game mattered. They lost 31 to 7 and a couple of garbage time. TDs does not change that. Although it did make all of us, Um Jack, who had the over, so thanks for not quitting. Credit for that. Don't act like you didn't need or you didn't Miss DeAndre Hopkins and that Randall Cobb and Brandon cooks would make everybody forget about Hopkins because they didn't not when they combined for four receptions and 43 yards. And yet, somehow that wasn't even the worst look of the night for the Texans, But I will get to that in a minute because to their credit, Houston's defense did throw some different looks and Patrick Mahomes Not that it mattered, but they did throw some different looks at Patrick Mahomes. They've changed a lot, a lot of stuff the line of scrimmage and then they kind of stayed back and kept safeties back and put a guy over 10 pretty much the whole entire game. Whatever Right as I mentioned, it didn't matter like it might be the cliche ist Of all the cliches. What Patt really did take what the defense gave him. No man is to have an ego like that at all. And since the homerun ball was not there, he just went to work underneath, and he completed 75% of his passes for three TDs and no aunties. In other words, The guy isn't going to force anything. And can now adjust to everything. And that's gotta scare just about every defense coordinator on Casey schedule. You give the guy a different look, and he's still as dominant as ever. He just beat you in a different way. Oh, and speaking off different looks Last night was the world's first look it Clyde Edwards Heller in an N B a game NFL game, I should say. And dude. Dude, Dude, that's got to scare the hell out of DCs leaguewide because that's exactly what the Chiefsoffense needed right another weapon. Take the chiefsoffense from last year and then you add C e h to it the hell is that? I'll tell you what it's not Fair. That's not fair. 25 carries 138 yards and 81 extremely badass TD and they give to Clyde Edwards dealer breaks a tackle The longest rivers cut back to the 15. Now the speed of five headed in for the touchdown Rookie.

"The extra 300 week payment for Texans collecting unemployment submit this pandemic ends this week. That's what the Texas Workforce Commission announced just yesterday. Faymann form the Texas Workforce Commission yesterday. The funds will finish with the benefit weekending September the fifth and the Twc said It cannot extend those payments beyond the date because the funds provided from FEMA while they're limited. So there you go get ready for that. Well, I don't know what I'm out about. It sure feels like things are starting to feel more like normal. When I'm in a restaurant, it seems like most people are kind of the staff are usually running around kind of Overwhelmed. It seems that's been my experience ah lot lately, So I have a feeling that that that more people are going to need to be hiring Mohr soon, so I'm quite encouraged. I'm starting to see the help wanted signs. I mean, they they begin with calling the people back at some of these rest, but by and large People already back man living with the mask and keeping distance and things like that. So what? In the world of business J. C. Penney's. They got a deal to get the company out of bankruptcy. We talked about it yesterday that could be letting a bunch of people go, but It appears they maybe they may have some investors business analyst David Johnson says the department store chain it set up some, You know, I set out to get some outside funding and it's coming. It looks like there's a deal to save the company is a hole to keep. Maybe 650 stores open baby save as many as 70,000 jobs. Wells Fargo spearheading. $2 billion in financing to go into the Jaycee penny bankruptcy exit. In essence, they have reached a tentative rescue deal with their landlords. Simon Property Group in Brookfield Property Partners. They've got a couple of billion dollars coming to him from Wells Fargo. And the name J. C. Penny, you know, may just be around for a while. There you go. David Johnson business and list here in Texas. I know they're still growing at Barton Creek Mall. I was out there a couple weekends and go and they they were open. I didn't go in, but they were open. Yeah. Show. I find it kind of odd that they would somehow endure. We're serious is long gone, but they had other issues. Well, this is a different scenario as well. I mean, I I don't think Simon Properties Made an effort to try to save Ceres in this in this case, Simon Properties is part of the deal with Wells Fargo to keep one of their major anchor tenants in the building. Well, that's true, and it is. It is in the best interest of Simon Properties to keep J. C. Penney's Or at least somebody else around. Yeah, I mean, nobody starting big department store chains right now. So if J C. Penney's goes out, then I have a feeling a lot of malls across this country would start whether already struggling And they're just trying to save what tenants? They gotta guess. Yeah, that's what it looks like. Yep. Yep. The you know, mall cycle like Barton Creek and like, like, line and all that. I don't know what I go, you know, compared to five minutes out of the domain or the Hill Country Galleria. If I met the older mall, itjust feels I don't know. It just didn't feel good. I don't look forward to the thought of having to go to the mall because it kind of feels like a bit of a time warp, but not not in a good way. You know, I mean, it's not good just feels dated. It just kind of feels like you know the mall itself or the stores around the mouth. The mall itself is just a concept of, you know, walking through the mall, and it's like, Wow, I just felt like I've gone back in time here and not necessarily in a good way. You know where you go to the art of the domain or Country Galleria, and it's kind of you know, I don't know There's some kind of invigorating about that kind of store is just a different kind of feel better vibe. You better Bob. You demanded better. Vivat, Your local mall. Gotta have my body. You miss the days of orange, Julius and parachute pants. I I spent many, many, many a night at the mall, playing music and bails Chelsea Street, Chelsea Street Pub, Lattice table gets free. Drink on and s. Oh, believe me. I mean, I'd be there five nights a week for like a month straight, then go to another. Show the mall was very good to me. But thing is now go back there and it still feels like 1982. And that doesn't necessarily feel good. Yeah. What would you say? You're gonna be all right, though, 7 21. Let's see. Let's see. Is it Susan Checking in from four points area patients this morning. Trump and 2015 McCain comments
"Donald trump is vehemently denying allegations made in a shocking Atlantic piece, which claims that trump refused to visit a US military cemetery near Paris in two thousand, eighteen because the fallen soldiers were in his words, losers and suckers. Now I say it was a shocking piece but to be honest with you not so shocking when you consider all the different times, he transparently brazenly said terrible things about members of our military who happen to disagree with him politically. But here he is denying it and then I'll give you what the facts are to think that I would make statements negative to. Our military and our fallen heroes nobody's done what I've done. With the budgets with the military budgets with getting pay raises military it is a disgraceful situation. By a magazine that's a terrible magazine. I don't read it by disagreed with John. McCain. But still respected him and I had to approve his funeral is president. We lowered the flags I had to approve that nobody else I had to approve it when you think I'm just thinking back. I had to approve either Air Force One or military plane. To go to Arizona to pick up his casket and I approved it immediately. So. Let's take a look at a trump tweet from two thousand fifteen because there's always tweet. This is from July two, thousand fifteen where trump referred to John McCain as a loser. I mean he tweeted an article about himself calling John McCain loser. So he was bragging about it also when McCain died in two thousand, eighteen trump refused to lower the White House flag back to half staff even though it's become customary for presidents to sign a proclamation calling for the flag to remain at half staff for members of Congress until the day of interment, and then one other piece of evidence to Kinda refute trump's narrative in that video take a look and I said somebody should run against John McCain who has been. In my opinion not so hot I supported him. I supported for President I raised a million dollars from a lot of money. I supported him. He lost he let us down but he lost. So. I never liked him as much after that because I don't like to lose. But. But Frank Franklin we're get doing. He hit me he's a war hero. He's a war hero he's a war hero presumed captured. I like people that weren't captured. Okay I hate to tell you. That was from twenty. Fifteen event in Iowa. So. I don't know how to talk trump supporters anymore. That's why I'm done with them in my personal life and everywhere else because the guy. Ridiculous Liar. Does he know that he tweeted on John McCain's loser does he know he said on? Massimo you guys all remember when he said for people who weren't. But earlier, he said, I don't like losers referring to John McCain. So why did he come out yesterday and say no I never malsor. Each just unbelievable he's capable and so if you say, Hey, know what I love people who are Liars Okay again I mean do you boo okay. and. And look again. I. Blame the media. And Because So many politicians lie and they never call it out. They'd never they enabled politicians lies for decades. So eventually, you got one that. So over the top that even. Though. And remember you guys remember it took them like a couple of years before they finally gather up the nerve to say, well, what Donald Trump said, there was not correct. I'm forgetting the name of the CNN analyst who finally just said it and then went on this three minute rant fact checking trump. Fact checking trump's RNC speech but he started that three minute rant by saying trump lied he's a liar and I was like. Is. This CNN what's going on? And so yeah, you're right Jangling the fact that that excited me because it's so rare I think mean something and we'll get you the name of the person I'm talking about because he deserves all the credit I'm kind of blanking right now but look I actually think with this particular story and a few others. The media has done a decent job. So for instance, business insider had a very lengthy list highlighting all the different times, Donald trump attacked members of the military right and fallen soldiers. So I wanna read a few of them right now in fact, as you guys can probably remember in July of two thousand, sixteen trump attacked the family of captain who mine con a slain soldier someone who died. Fighting for the country dismissing a speech his father Kaiser Khan made because he said Khan's mother hadn't been allowed to speak the family said she had not spoken because she too emotional to talk about her son's death. And he just kept going after that family. It was it was honestly disgusting in October of two thousand seventeen trump forgot the name of slain US Army Sergeant La- David Johnson while he was on the phone with his widow, Johnson was killed in an ambush in. Niger. While while in active service. Misha. Johnson said the call was trump made her cry and trump told her that her husband knew would he had signed up for in November of two thousand Eighteen Fox News is Chris Wallace asked trump about his thoughts on retired Admiral William mcraven a former navy seal been. who was behind the mission that killed Osama bin. Laden. He interrupted Wallace and said Hillary Clinton. Fan. When Wallace continued trump did to excuse me Hillary Clinton Fan trump went on to repeat that mcraven supported Clinton which by the way he hadn't as well as former President Barack Obama and said frankly wouldn't have been nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that. I mean, there's so many more examples Jank but I mean I want to give you an opportunity to respond to some of them. By the way Daniel Dale is the CNN reporter that I was referring to earlier go ahead. So we've seen him call the generals, losers, thousands of times and so. I guess people are shocked at that. He would go and call the fallen soldiers losers as well, and not just stop a general's or veterans or captured soldiers. But is it really shy at all? He calls everybody lose them in his denial. He called the military people who were the sources for this story lowlifes and liars. If you're trying to deny that you'd ever call anybody in the military losers you shouldn't then turn around in your denial and call them lowlifes. Buyers. So I look. Landing brokers story with four sources. Then Washington Post back it up with three sources and the Associated Press also found sources all saying the same thing. I actually want to read a few excerpts from the Washington Post piece. Again, these aren't the same sources. These are additional sources who also spoke to the Washington Post about. Their experience with trump and what he had to say about fallen soldiers in one account. The president told senior advisors that he didn't understand why the US government plays such a high value on finding. Oh. This is so disgusting finding soldiers missing in action because they had performed poorly and gotten caught in deserved what they got according to a person familiar with the discussion. Okay. That That part of the story like I don't know all of it is gross but that part hit me the hardest because he just doesn't value people's lives and think about losing a family member that way and knowing that the president of the United States does not care to find their bodies. A trump believes people who served in Vietnam War must be losers. They hadn't gotten out of it according to a person familiar with the comments. Trump also complained bitterly to then chief of staff, John Kelly that he didn't understand why Kelly and others in the military treated. McCain, who had been imprisoned and tortured during the Vietnam War with such reverence isn't he kind of a loser? Trump asked according to a person familiar with trump's comments. So. Look at Donald Trump says, this is outrageous synonymous sources. Donald Trump also, just a couple of days ago said that there was a plane full of thugs who are gonNA come and disturb. His, acceptance speech and caused violence and when asked, who told you that he said? I can't tell you basically it's anonymous. So. I'm supposed to believe your anonymous source of a trust me to go. You would know trust me. But we're not supposed to believe now it looks like about a half, a dozen military sources for that talked to three different publications all saying the same thing and all saying things that are very similar to what you said before and by the way yesterday show before the Washington Post Associated Press stories came out I said I guarantee you. that. He thinks that they're suckers 'cause he out of be fake doctor's note because his daddy bottom one and he thinks they're suckers for not being able to get out of the war his spoil less and it turns out. That's exactly what he said according to the military sources that heard him say. And remember when sources are anonymous to the general public that doesn't mean that there are anonymous to the reporters. Reporters have to vet their anonymous sources and corroborate what they're saying So maybe they're anonymous to us, but they're not anonymous to the reporters.

"David Johnson is my explanation is a little bit crazy when I said middle teens with like fourteen fifteen and then the upper teens of like sixty seventy eighty ninety but you get the point what I'm making everybody that is not my strong suit but I will go Todd Gurley have a productive season that David Johnson so on site number two or to Shawn Watson as the starting quarterback for the patriots but I may not sign me up I'm good to go thank you bill abroad all right I was going through him that's a better online dot com has Watson as the odds on favorite to start at quarterback for New England and twenty twenty one that might sound crazy to think that bill o'brien reveals franchise quarterback to New England but then again you just don't argue with the best wide receiver in the NFL in the odd Hopkins last week to really notice Toronto draw sizes John watch will be the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots in twenty twenty one so the only way this happens is if deshaun Watson walks in and doesn't even give them a choice the Texans of me for bill o'brien and he goes I'm done with the organization I'm done so disgusted how you guys treated the Andre Hopkins yes you know they could franchise tag him and they could just extend the time period and make a trade as well as long as he signs the tender because he's under contract through twenty twenty one with that fifth year option but really the way that this works is that you don't most likely with the Andre up with that to Shawn Watson it's going to come down to him just saying it's my way or you pick bill o'brien and if they think will be over this on what's in it and that's not going to happen so the Shawn Watson still gonna be the quarterback I would think long term but with his tweets that is sub tweets he's not all that happy with what happened with the Andre Hopkins so for bill o'brien when I look at this real quickly his contract it runs through the twenty twenty two season and for deshaun Watson he's a free agent at the end of the twenty twenty one season I would think that the way that this goes if the sun watching ghost ownership and says I don't trust bill o'brien anymore and in it even with that being said to someone to sing like that type of guy but clearly he's annoyed with the Andre Hopkins getting traded it's either me or it's him if you want to trade me go ahead and trade made but if not we need a new coach and we know that the Texans are I would like to think that the Houston Texans are going to pick the quarterback over the coach who is in okay coach and a coach that's never going to win a Super Bowl as a head coach so I will go off sides you're to Shawn Watson will not be starting for the patriots in twenty twenty one even though I would love to see that happen all right for Buccaneers quarterback in number one overall pick Jameis Winston is currently a free agent and the Jaguars are in the market for a quarterback of dealing Nick Foles Tavares Gardner Minshew showed flashes of brilliance last year was far too inconsistent to make any fan base feel really confident so once I draw cites the Jaguars are the best landing spot for James Winston let me ask you this trace it Janus Winston signs with the Jaguars who do you think start in week one as a gardener Minshew or Jim Swenson.

"Money in terms of sports Adam do you have the tweet of the day what what was it you said yeah if you what was it about the de Andre Hopkins David Johnson trade lay that out what did you say I said at the Andre Hopkins was traded for David Johnson in your fantasy football league not only would it be vetoed the fantasy managers would be barred for life being a part of that lead what is happening well I believe that and I and I am thankful yeah that that's we've been blown up and everything but the thing of it is that I understand okay the passenger in a deficit they need a first round draft pick that makes a lot of sense they did not get a first round draft pick they got a guy who's a running back who's been slowing down I would say and this might come off as a hot cake I'm I'm not even sure is better than Jeff Johnson address like why did Johnson still need to be disrespected but any of that David Johnson has averaged over four yards a carry since two thousand sixteen your trading one of the best receivers in the game who's entering his age twenty eight season and first round what is happening and the cardinals I believe they're still yeah so the cardinals keeper pack which I believe is eighth overall yeah they're going to go out and grab one of the top offense of linemen and we've got new copy and they put the transition tag on Kenyan Drake which means they can match any other offer they won't get any compensation if he signs with another team but they have like they're probably going to keep him because now without the anchor David Johnson there it's gonna be easier for them to do it it's unbelievable what is unbelievable when and if it wasn't for your forty Niners out there keeping pace you could be in a lot of trouble well I'm in the NFC west though man whoa whoa like I don't I'm not bullish on the rams because as you can see now they're like Hey does anybody want Todd Gurley you can have them but they they they've just continually sign huge deals and giving up draft capital Aaron Donald they're gonna have to try to do with Jaylen Ramsey Brandin cooks Jared Goff and Gurley keep breaking everybody off and I knew that was that was going to buy them and I think here we are like if you asked me today that's your fourth place team in the NFC west next year one hundred percent that is the worst team in the division and I also think that there are bad ball so they're definitely there definitely for it and it's almost to the point and I know that you never know it the end of the old house things change so quickly in the fortunes can I mean obviously this will give the forty Niners how quickly things can be turned around that Jared Goff is your fourth best quarterback in the division easily Todd Gurley that that is that was the the rams version of David Johnson as you put it all to the point where you're like you don't read you this trade Aaron Donald near a bunch of first round picks different Khalil Mack's ideal for hand try to move away from some of these guys and then just start off like and maybe if you jerk off or whatever he Gerry Goffin Cooper cop but goodness gracious you're not going to be competitive I I listen I tell you the forty Niners banding together probably texting and now B. like Bravo doll don't pick them to go three thirty I won't do that I'll give them at least four wins so I want I want I don't I feel like we're close enough that I can do that well I I really do not feel great about the rams in the in the future and I think that they really handcuff themselves and they're really in a lot of trouble believable I'm and then the of course around here the very very big news of the day and I know it lands in kind of a spot on the field that we don't talk much about when it comes to fantasy on the defensive line but the the the big news is the the forty Niners make a move that no one saw coming and they give up deforest Buckner who was a home grown first round successful player and those are the players that are really hard in any sport to give up on when you drop them and it works and then you give that player up that's hard to stomach bug I think people are also processing why they did it they they re sign Eric arms that they get some draft capital they open up some cap space what was your reaction to the deal obviously you're you're losing a great player on the status of there's there's no spending that you you put it eloquently the thing that jumped out to me was like all eight CD lamb season or maybe it's Gerry Gerry Bustos forty batters of now put themselves into a position to get one of the top wide receivers in the game I'm curious though because it's interesting because now the cardinals have the Andre Hopkins they won't be using a pick to go on a draft a wide receiver which means that he could filter down I think that opens up the opportunity for them to go out and get a player like UT light lambs maybe you know worst case scenario you wind up with Henry run your love it let's your old this is what it's like now this is sports radio in twenty twenty if it's in the world you know what to say yeah the girls what are you guys Hey would you guys think of the forty Niners deal without a good mover not.

S. C. game but I agree with you I think he's a second round possibility test what is a lot of corners that's the thing you you look at in this draft beyond the lead of which is just a crude oil from from low higher state there are there some that that this position with fort Meade Ellis use a first rounder even going down to the price fall from Virginia was hurt or he would have been in the first round next and a guy like AJ Terrel from Clemson at a real strong finish so it's a really good your future in your quarters come out that'll be at the position that's why Johnson is probably right now eleven twelve thirteen but yet still figures in that second third round that Kuipers callers your draft questions from L. eight eight eight say E. N.'s Stephen North Carolina good morning Steve what's your question well I got a quick question on how well is not the core but we know that and I don't I'm related to another okay I'm so where do we go was full of corn by one too many games they actually get a good draft pick then the cold snow to paying them kind of we kind of stuck in the middle of the road you know I don't know where when you think of what we get well I think in and Kyle Alice will be determination well kind of hit a wall on and we'll see what happens with forward obviously you think about quarterbacks Jacob decent we don't know what he's gonna do it Washington he would be the fourth quarterback possibility for the first round behind the big three check from I have a second round rate on Jordan love Utah state the net the you're expected we'll see what happens with if he goes the senior bowl what happens there is it coming out talk about and maybe transferring both see what decision he makes there but yet to me after the are you roll the dice on take a piece of if he comes out I'm hoping he goes back to Washington for another year Brian's in Ohio Brian what's your question Hey guys just wanted to know how come jacket not get or love on higher draft stock on him not only if you destroy what's supposed to be good runs deep at this but he's doing it without getting a lot of Kerry's because they're they're you know dominating the game's not only this year but the last couple years he split time with Mike Weber on top of that the lawyers career he doesn't have much tread what's what what yes he's right there he that the entree swift Georgians outstanding receiver rather back really actually put in the slot son Jonathan Taylor great runner not a great receiver and he's had some ball security issues Dobbins yeah he said Hey it's not great but he's also had a few ball security issues as well so I think Dobbins is a first round pick he's been in that top twenty five at a moving up well the big board a few weeks ago so he's probably in that place a twenty two to thirty two range around one all right we go to South Dakota and find Peter Peter however I got hold on to things Peter one buckle your seat belt to turn your radio down let's try this again all right yes there you.

Christian McCaffrey (back) misses practice
"Of star running backs who have missed orbin limited in practice this week due to injury the biggest question marks on this list Todd Gurley and David Johnson both those players missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday Adam get us going here Christian McCaffrey is they faced the box yesterday they faced the books over in London Christian McCaffrey went through practice this morning head coach Ron Rivera said he's five it sounds like more of a rest maintenance issue with Christian McCaffrey not going to be an issue for him on Sunday morning at nine thirty eastern he is expected to play against the buccaneers field ABC American saints at the Jags you don't like injuries pop up during the week Suzanne Alvin Kamara was added to the injury report on Thursday because of an ankle issue he was limited no clear indication whether or not he will play if for some reason he sits Latavius Murray's the next man up in the world is in that back at huge matchup rams niners what about Todd Girls it has not practiced the last two days suzy he is nursing a quad injury. Sean mcvay made it sound yesterday like they couldn't practiced in yesterday's if they needed to so it sounds like they're managing and again we'll find out today where they listed on the injury report about David Johnson against the Falcons not yet it just seems so far this week because of a back issue susie but GM steve kind was on the radio in Arizona this morning express some optimism about Johnson plane he did not he's not one hundred percent certain but there's at least a chance with David Jones Attivo Chris Carson be ready to go against the Browns Susan your field mentioned the did Alvin Kamara was added to the injury report mid week same is true of Chris Carson with a shoulder injury limited during practice on Thursday he's such a physical back you worry about her shoulder injury with Chris Carson if there's any questions about his availability for any backup b. let's add a wide receiver to the mix the chiefs I recall that will of course he has been suffering that clavicle injury all the way back in week one limited participant practice all week last week he has been limited so far at this week's who's the seems like there is a chance in a game that all of a sudden is one that people are seemingly given the texts better chance to win on Sunday in Kansas City.
Downing St. says Boris Johnson will not resign as prime minister in wake of Supreme Court ruling
"British prime minister Boris Johnson has lost big votes again and again in parliament now he has suffered a huge defeat in court the U. K. Supreme Court has ruled against the prime minister that's member Johnson suspended parliament for five weeks in what was seen as an effort to limit debate on brexit will that is the act that the court has found to be illegal and let's bring in NPR's Frank Lankford who is in the English seaside city of Brighton this morning hi Frank. Hey good morning David but what exactly is the court saying here. well if you remember David Johnson argued that he needed this long extension so we could work on his legislative agenda but lever in the hall she was speaking for the eleven justices this morning and she said the suspension effectively prevented legislators from doing their job this is the way that she put it it had the effect of frustrating preventing the ability of parliament to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification okay Frank so a big setback for the prime minister I mean after a series of setbacks in parliament now defeated in the court yeah Dave has not won a vote yet so how is he is he sounding still upbeat.
Johnson's Suspension Of Parliament Was 'Unlawful,' U.K. Court Rules
"Support for NPR comes from James Madison University named for the man known as the father of the US constitution presenting the next Madison Vision Series Lecture on November fourth learn more at J. Dot Mu Slash Civic British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has lost big votes again and again in parliament and now he has suffered a huge defeat in court the UK Supreme Court has ruled against the prime minister. Let's remember Johnson suspended parliament for five weeks in what was seen seen as an effort to limit debate on Brexit. Will that is the act that the court has found to be illegal and let's bring. NPR's Frank Langfitt who is in the English seaside aside city of Brighton this morning frank. Hey Good Morning David. What exactly is the court saying here well if you remember. David Johnson argued that he needed this long extension so we could work on his legislative agenda but lady Brenda Hall. She was speaking for the eleven justices this morning and she said the suspension effectively prevented legislators from doing their job. This is the way that she put it. It had the effect of frustrating or preventing the ability of parliament want to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification. Okay frank a big setback for the prime minister. I mean after a series as of setbacks in parliament now defeated in the courts date has not WanNa vote yet. So how is he is. He sounding still upbeat. Well it's interesting he is. He's going along with this. I don't think he has any choice. This was such a resounding verdict from the Supreme Court but he also says he's going to continue with this policy which the plan is we've been talking about is for Britain to leave the European Union on October thirty first one way or the other Johnson of course is in New York for the UN General Assembly meeting and a and here's what he had to say from New York. Obviously this is a but we will respect. We respect the judicial process. I have to say I strongly disagree with what the justices found I didn't think it's writes but we will go ahead and correspondent post-partum comeback. I think is a good case for getting with the Queen's speech anyway. We'll do that and David when he says the Queen's speech what he's talking talking about is he his legislative agenda which he is planned he's supposed to give on October fourteenth so he does plan to go through with that but House Speaker John Berko he he says that parliament will tomorrow and we'll see how they spend that time certainly we're gonNA probably hear a lot more criticism and scrutiny of Johnson's policies in in the days and weeks ahead and practically I mean what what does this mean for among other things specs it in this October thirty deadline politically this. This is yet another setback for Boris Johnson but I don't think you're going to see him back down at all. He's already said to his party. I'm going to do this do or die and he has. I don't think he has a lot of choice there. we are expecting a general election coming up in November or December and certainly Johnson knows that if he goes back on his word he could lose a lot of voters in his greatest fear. Most people who who followed his career his greatest fear would be actually not being able to stay as prime minister and and serving not a very long time well and that brings up the opposition the opposition leader Pro Labor Party and you're actually covering their convention right in in Britain I mean would they have had their own problems. As as this brexit process of been going they have had their own problems. David one thing is they've not been able to come up with a policy that is clear. They're kind of straddling the fence on this but I gotta say today this morning for Labor. This was a a big victory. They were euphoric very excited. Jeremy Corbyn the Labor leary came out on stage. He said this verdict showed that had contempt for democracy heat abused power and this. This is how corporate put it. I invite Boris Johnson in the historic words to consider his position. The become the shortest serving prime ministers have obeyed okay frank. Let's summarize British politics in turmoil and we have no idea what it happens in Brexit is that said about where we still are feels like. It's been that for more than eight years. David N._p._R.'s Frank Langfitt reporting this morning. Thanks so much have you David.

Chargers, Melvin Gordon And Ten Million Dollars discussed on SportsCenter AllNight
"Time Joseon adders are reporting the agent for Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has requested a trade because charges are not backing off their offer of ten million per season which represents a roughly twice the salary schedule to make in the final year of his rookie deal they remain at a record you know not wanting to report because he feels like he's valuation is higher than ten million when you have to put that in the context knowing that Todd Gurley right now is what at fourteen point three lay beyond del thirteen one David Johnson at thirteen million my understanding is that the comp that in being out there right now is that David Johnson and Melvin Gordon are similar in terms of how they should be paid and they are definitely still at a gap between those numbers and so right now he's going to stay out until the situation gets resolved nice of Gordon toll charges that if he does not receive a new deal that's acceptable obviously he'll sit out demanded trade he's followed through on both threats Louis Riddick Damien woody Chris Mortensen with insight on how this plays out in if Gordon has any leverage in this hold out he doesn't have the leverage because the charges obviously feels so his replacements is number two or number three players like Austin Meckler Justin Jackson will give them enough of a of a level of production a percentage of production may not equal what number will give them enough to where they have enough other weapons on the field to make up the difference and they're just going to go with the you know one year at a time type of philosophy and if he doesn't like it then they're gonna trade I think he's out on the football team before the regular season starts and hopefully he can find that one suitor who not only is willing to pay a high price to get him but is also willing to pay him long term which is what he's after after lands a former running back and running back coach and the one thing I know by if the land he's very confident that he can find another running back you mention it already the fact that Philip rivers in the last year for the of Joey Bosa is coming up they have players in the pipeline so to think that Melvin Gordon's going to get you know the levy on bail early heard Todd Gurley absolute because are guaranteed a lot of people looking to toggle the contract and is like wool we don't want any part of that so okay Melvin Gordon is in a situation where he's not gonna get paid by the Los Angeles Chargers and more likely he's going to be sued no with another team actually ten million dollars is the charges off and that's kind of where the value him and they do have other contracts to get done and they're not a cash rich team we've established that for different reasons that without getting into details Melvin Gordon's only played one full season out of a source for any is a good back is he an elite back you can argue one way or the other but the bottom line is the charges are going to get permission for Bilbo is represented to go get a trade they want to control the situation he's not levy on bills he has a contract levy on bill did not have a contract last year so it's not a similar situation ten million dollars is the charges off and that's kind of where the value him and they do have other contracts to get done and they're not a cash rich team we've established that for different reasons that without getting into details but Melvin Gordon's only played one full season of the source for any is a good back is he in the league back you can argue one way or the other but the bottom line is the charges are going to get permission for Bilbo is represented to go get a trade they want to control the situation he's not levy on bills he has a contract levy on bill did not have a contract last year so it's not a similar situation ultimately I think the charges feeling and we talked about this yesterday and make your Damian Moore and and the lens perspective is they do fill like if necessary if gore insanity assigned eventually then you can put them on the market as a team it is the one with the agent do the shopping Eric Williams covers the Chargers for ESPN provided this take on why the charger should find a resolution with Gordon if they have aspirations to make a run in the playoffs he was on Spain and company yeah I mean it's basically a stand off at this point you know Gordon wants to be paid amongst the highest running backs normally he thinks his his statistics over the last couple years point to that he should be pay you know like David Johnson girly let me del the Chargers obviously disagree on that date they are pricey them again according to reports and and I believe they're accurate about ten million per year you mean another structure the contract how much of that is guaranteed how much that is fully guaranteed when he would receive that type of money so those are things that are going on in terms of negotiations to try to get Melvin in the camp I did the things that are promising if both sides want to get a deal done Melvin Gordon wants to play for the charge the Chargers want Melvin Gordon the place so you would think at some point there there would be a compromise that could be made to get Mel in the camp because he remains to be seen you know Melvins representation that told the Chargers that you know that they would demand a trade at the contract demands aren't aren't made the charges are willing to trade him they basically haven't control for the next two to three years due to make five point six million in the following years rookie deal and they get franchise in another couple years no but it is important in terms of where the charge you want to go in the post season they can win games without knowing the crew that last year they want **** when no one was injured the issue is is can they want simple without melon and I think the answer probably is no and so I think that does give me a little bit of leverage yeah well he might want to look Gordon at levy on bell scenario the now jets running back doesn't second guess himself for sitting out last season a decision that cost them fourteen million in salary he did say you wish you could have told fantasy owners some type of way to not draft him or pick him never made it on the field
