She wants people to stop calling her crazy and it's like, Well, that's your name, and that's what you put on every movie credit that you've ever had. But she insists that she really just wants to be called. Which is more simple to make. Cannot stand perfectly. And so she's My fans call me Danny. You know she'll have any fans. Whatever. Why didn't she call herself Annie to begin with exactly Because you know what? Annie Murphy from Shits Creek. Annie Murphy from the jump has been any market. And when you see her on the credits, Annie Murphy wanted David Jen or Jenny or Danny, where I wouldn't write where you don't like to be called Vicky..

"Good evening. I'm Jon Landau. Hello, Mike Vanderbilt. Hello there. Thanks for having me, John. How are you? I'm good. Now I know we're gonna talk about these movies that you're playing, and I know that you I was all set to that's from the movie The great Rupert what you've already shown as I paid attention to the scale. We opened up our our months, our month of holiday films driving with the great Rupert and the Great Rupert. I had never heard of it before, So I'm looking it up and the great Rupert apparently is a squirrel. Get young. It's kind of funny. If you look at the way you look at the files are idea, and it was also paired with a secret screening and his secret screening was National Lampoon's Christmas vacation, So the running thread was squirrel movies. Got you because you have a theme. You don't just slap up any old stupid movie. You've got some sort of connection going on. Yeah, This is the thinking man's place that What now? Is this, the driving we're still talking about. You know, there's different driving. When I was young. I was doing the music back supporters one in Tilson. This one is that the rock Alan Public House, which supplier in Blue Island and Was funny because a lot of people think because of my relationship with the music box that the driving was my idea, it wasn't It was our head chef Jerry Doherty of butter Upon bacon, he said. What about Why don't we just put a drive in In the parking lot, because, as you know, like most small businesses were trying to keep our heads above water and try to keep people eating and drinking, of course, safely and securely and the drive and he came to me, he says. Well, you know how to run one of these things. So let's see what we can do. And we started to write around Halloween was funny because I was Kind of looking forward to not having to deal with the driving anymore. After the music box is much fun is it was It was a lot of work. And just when I thought I was out, they pull me right back in. So that explained the physical Layout. That how you know how will you watch? How do people watch the movies at the Rock Island Public House? So we have a we have are we opened up our patio. We basically turned our pet our parking lot into a expanded patio over the summer. When we reopened for business and in dealing with the Chicago winter, we have several shipping containers that are heated that you could drink Anna's well. Several fire pits. On into the side of that we have the driving, which is a big would screen that we project from a little projection booth that we have right now middle and we could get up to 12 cars. And it is first come first served on the salad comes through on FM transmitter right here radio. And if we do sell out the driving you can you're more than welcome to watch the movie from the patio where we have Ah boom box. Playing the sounds so awesome way Make it a point that like, Yeah, it's first come first serve, but we really wanted pretty be able to get in there. I know. Are you responsible for this film lineup? Yes, this was this was mostly crazy. You're weird. You are some you're from outer space. This was mostly me the boss's David Jen Brown at the rack in a public house. Trusted me. Implicitly with this on guy really was proud of it because I think we really brought a little bit of everything for everybody on this one. And a lot of it has to do with what you could get the licensing rights to screen and and you know, some of this is public domain stuff, which is great because nobody has to get paid. And Yeah, I said I was very proud of what we what we brought together here. So the next Show is Friday. December 11th. Would that be right, All right. Oh, I'm ready on Friday, December 11th, though. Hold on everybody. The white reindeer. I did not say much because it's so Yeah, I remember. I think somebody said so. Okay? Go win it too. This is a nice finish. Double feature we have going here like the language. Finished. Yes, yes. It's in the white reindeer is from 1952, and it won the Golden Globe for best foreign film, and that's the end of the film that can in 1953. So what exactly is the plot other than the Rangers White It's very, very tell oriented kind of stable ish horror, and I think you say any more to that is to reveal a little bit too much. But I think I could see this being an influence on like works of Guillermo del Toro. If anybody digs his stuff, and we pair repaired that went up with rare exports, which is Hold it. Hold it. Did you say rare exports? Indeed, I did..

"In the man's got to dance I gotta tell you this it's so confusing every time now my supposed to have the news buttons up can I talk to newspeople I don't know what's going on you talk to me once so you can talk to news people yes just affect your buttons so same is like all right there was some dead air on the stream and I will a hundred percent admit it was my fault usually when we go to the stream merry merry band of elves and for bill left today had a cluster you know what yeah but you are playing the part a bill which is what you were doing today too which is just sitting there watching everything leads to say and now he does not he does need or use the facilities ever during the show but he just sits there looking at me like what are we gonna do yeah typically at noon we do our bonus our okay so this is twenty five minutes earlier right because white Sox baseball tiger happening on seven twenty so there's a little bit of confusion on my part I guess when we go to the stream early because at noon it's flawless everybody knows what to do today I I turned the news room off because that that's what we do at noon all the time but I guess that's my fault man the stream I apologize to David Jennings because there was no sound and just David Jen and techniques breathing well it could've been **** and just say it's a communications this is exactly what was going on my husband texted me and said what's going on on the stream I hear nothing and just breathing I said all that would be David Jennings and again I'm standing here thinking it's not my fault it was I'll take full credit and I'm a bit of a gadget **** I like to get organized as solely my fault all right so that's going on you're fine now all right now wonderful here got under control so we are all on the stream come join us our happy little family and I never really got through this dad bod flow chart but again I can't get past this age groups here see me you know I've got a dad bod honoring that kids but David I see I'm confused as to what a dead body is I I guess I am you know the dead body is you're a little out of shape yeah but it's the simplest way to yeah okay does though no longer look the way you did when you were in your thirties okay what are your twenty five years old and you're a little over weight is that a dead body lies that's Rogan had had the dead on in its thirties are on again you know he was a dead that's just sloppy day didn't work out that sloppy dead by Seth Rogan has lost a lot of weight he's pretty damn now but I guess I guess if you're not beefed up was that the dad bod then you don't have to be beefed up it's just that you know your eat everything is where it's supposed to be in the appropriate amounts it's when you start to get to that age where your midsection attracts fat cells from every other part of your body yeah but that's when you have to work harder I mean Mary and I are about the same age you have no metal you have no nothing I do you work out all the time just for a bigger shirts merry yeah yeah your you you work at it so cut the crap I also have a good metabolism yes I think it has a lot to do with that and you know I mean you have a humming bird metabolism yeah but I I he's always doing something yeah yeah I do I I stay very active once the last time you just laid on the couch for over an hour to to watch TV or crochet every night for over an hour just lay there usually burn our I die hang out after Wendy a letter bill camp we we we we need to grab a burn torture her for warrants see there I really don't have any secret I mean there has to I don't eat a lot I I don't even know her lan says every day go ahead and say it brother my kids laugh it's a half a Turkey sandwich every day every day but I do have chips how many trips I like I put it on ships she puts her own chips and a bit yes so I'm telling you that is not a full size bag of chips bag of chips that's all she needs for lunch and you have for breakfast younger and banana but I'm here and it's hard to eat like all right so you listen appearing on calorie wise yogurt in a banana banana half a sandwich chancellor Kohl cheese and a cookie then I if I was about three o'clock I'm already starving so I have an apple all right and then I have a bag of a bag and peanuts somewhere and then I heard is a safe and I you know normal dinner is this a retail bag of Peter small little you know what I it's it's a little little just doesn't see it's poor ice control that ice cream will get you if you want a girl man by yeah I screwed girl man mom bod yeah if you want yeah my mom bye bye or a I don't really I stand now and I don't I was during during the week because there's a lot of fat and ice cream so don't eat ice cream unfortunately I love mine I do not to learn to love gelato I could live yeah both of them except graders ice cream there their coconut chocolate chip have has turned me into an ice cream lover prior to that I never even had a screen have you ever tried to look I've heard of it they have a dark chocolate gelato that is just hello mark tell me please I thought I make cheese too they their I think they make that just may make dairy products I think all right I I like to watch Adam ruins everything Adam Conover we've had him on the air a couple times it's a great so I think it's on true TV if you ever find yourself having a spare half hour or so there's one about diets that I just watched and remember I think it was the eighties or nine it was the eighties or nineties when the fat was your enemy thing and because you just add ice cream has a lot of fat and everything went into low fat mode so there was those low fat cookies that everybody was going crazy do you remember the sit so bad exactly cause fantastic labor fat dressing but what we do snack wells is that what you were involved in a green box I just vaguely remember what happened in those well Adam Conover explained that the low fat craze wasn't that fat was not what was making people fat you go back to the the cave people they had a lot of fat and protein its sugar sugar is what makes you fat and out and into so now everybody's doing and to get your body and keep ptosis you do the keto diet and basically that is just having fats and protein and limiting your sugars not think about it any white bread which to me is the best bread nice soft light it's the worst tons of sugar might my sister just as the keto diet before her daughter got married she lost I think twenty pounds it was on a quick amount of time sheet my sister credit does have a mom type by you know but she's really strong and she's just you know kind of solid build but she she lost it and she did the keto diet and then she just made me keto cal collie flower casserole dish that was fine now wasn't really all good I got to get the rest before yeah it's it was so good and I said what's in that she does a lot of facts it was sour cream in it I know and all kinds of stuff that you had a sour cream yes it is cauliflower ketone whatever that we favor and look at this Adam ruins everything low fat foods are making you fatter it's and you can find it and just Adam runes diets you can just punch that in and it's like the bottom line is there was a guy who came up with this and said no you guys fat isn't what is making you fat and they didn't listen to on and they created all this fat free stuff wish I could find the guy's name John Young can he spoke out against sugar in nineteen seventy two the industry publicly mocked him calling his research science fiction but the sad truth is this guy yeah can John yet can was right sugar hill live as any sinks I don't know that I don't know we now know that sugar is linked with heart disease and weight gain it's found to be more addictive than cocaine these are all fact checks you know when you write a report when you're in high school you have to footnote everything you can find all the footnotes and all these episodes on to TV of Adam runs everything but the bottom line is sugar is is what is the problem I am not going again sorry I'm I'm not going against o'ryan and and corn sugar corn starch what is that what is the stuff that's in everything now hi yeah does the grocer of fructose boy it's tasty but are it's not natural in our bodies don't know how to process it and think of everything that has sugar in it catch up for instance you could have a hamburger but if you have a white bonnet and you have catch up and you have I don't know all the condiments I don't think mustard has too much sugar I don't think too much energy other cultures because it's good for you we talked about that this morning yeah the acid in it but everything you eat has sugar in it and that's what the everyone else's food has sugar and that it's it's all processed food that's why I think we all have problems digestive issues preservatives yeah yeah all right reserved I take out the Trinity I'm pretty regular thank you I never started taking it for that reason and you talk to some people who are like all there's been times I've gone on vacations with my girlfriends and it's like you know after day three it's like I finally once and I'm like what yeah took you three days with women on vacations always with me yeah really really black beans does it all right well information well run the stream and we you know everybody tuned over from seven and that's alright they all got their man bad so yeah I just don't I don't like the whole man bad thing because I I love Seth Rogan and I think you people are rude that's all I'm gonna say you know what whatever makes you happy and there are people that aren't necessarily skinny but are healthy if you're confident your look who cares well that's the whole thing is self image and you know it's how you feel inside because I love when you see people I'm watching Big Brother do you watch that now that's the one reality show I do not watch rather I know Nick to jelly watches it and there's Jessica who I think is from Chicago she's still on it at this point and she's a plus size model why did your about her just beautiful she dresses well but it's still I feel funny that she has to say plus size model why can't you just say model yeah I don't know why they say well they could say it even worse than plus size I guess that's kind of a yeah but I do know how long it took the industry to recognize the fact that all women are not a size two or zero I mean this is something that's only happened in the last what ten years I am I am I am I know I know the average the average and sixteen isn't it might be it for now sixteen I think it is well this aphorism twelve average I don't know and you know again it's like I'm list I'm not moving I like living in America but we have gun violence and we're fatter than every other country what gives why can somebody just ask we have some garlic preservatives answer for isn't it everything I've never been to another country is is it all preservative free there they don't have preservatives I find that you do arrive I've been to king I've been to Canada but and I guess that counts but a doctoral several times I've been to Calgary ones and I've been to Rio de Janeiro once and in Rio they love their red meat are they yeah they have here than the rest of the population I don't think so all right I'm talking like you know from my memory of being there they're out of the nineties that site no they don't look to be any they have other issues in Rio driving about those as young as I'm talking about do other countries like in Europe are they more preservative free than we are do you know that for us acting like dos as food and sorely joining us it is so nice to finally be on the air with you I know I I feel like we're a leather jacket sisters were always both wearing leather need a park and here today Lauren is because it's always cold in the studio but I always hear a worn going home I've never actually been on the air with their so I'm very excited right now so I'm sorry I was so excited to their voice I didn't even listen to what you said so in Europe what they have less processed foods we eat a lot of processed foods here in this country and we have much larger portion sizes and less active.

"And be sure to join the millions of others who have benefited from bigger pockets dot com. Your home for real estate investing online. What's going on everyone? My name is Brandon Turner, host of the bigger pockets podcast, here with Moco host. David Greene, what's up David much, man. It's actually going. Really good over on this end. We've got springtime here. The sun is nice. There's a bunch of people looking. Other houses, the markets kinda picking up in the bay area. And so I'm a happy camper. Nice. Hey, I had a reporter reach out to me the other day. And he was asking me questions about. He said, I feel like he said he feels like his research is showing him that the market is slowing, especially on the west coast. Have you found that to be true? Well it did. But that was just season heart of that was seasonal and coupled with a spike in interest rates. They went up like three times over a six week period or something. And it's like a body blow to buyers when they're like, oh, right. Like if my payment just went up two hundred bucks, but it came back down. And it's like dude immediately. We saw a bunch of people come right back into the market. So now a y'all these people that they go the market slowdown down, and houses are selling in six days again. So don't believe a lot of the time when you read articles like that they're just like, you know, sixty days old or something, and the, the market can change in two months, very insightful. Well, another inciteful tip today is going to be our quick tip. So today's quick tip that was a horrible rain on me. Am that quick tip in my face? I know that's what I'm working on. All right. So today's show is all about. Well, it's about a lot of stuff, one of my favorite authors of all time is in Cal Newport. He's on our show today, and so we're gonna talk a lot about building skills that will allow you to achieve financial independence earlier in life. We're tight a lot about focusing on when you actually worked really in the deep work is what he calls a deep work, and then we're talk about being a digital minimalist and you might be wondering at this point. Why does this matter for real estate investors? Let me just tell you this matter so much. And so, here's the quick tip actually is listened to this whole show. And then after the show is done David, and I are gonna actually break down a lot of what we talked about today, because it wasn't a real estate related show. We're going to put it into real estate terms. We're gonna talk about how we use these things in our own life. So the quick tip today is simply to make sure no matter what you listen to the last ten minutes or so of this show, where including the whole show, but including the last ten minutes. David I kind of break it into a real estate advice episode. So that's our quick tip. You like David Jen. She just threw it at me before I was ready. They're like, when I tried to catch with your daughter, and I throw the ball in her hands out, come up till after it bounced offer values. Yeah. It's her face. Yeah. I last night, I went to the beach with some friends, and she had a little ball with her. And she's got an she had an arm for, like almost three year old like she can throw a ball good like twenty feet now. I can't wait. Jeod just kind of figured that out the last time I was there. And that was like the huge smile should gun. Her face when she made a good throw as awesome. Yeah. Yeah, she's getting good at that. So she's my little softball player. All right. Well without further ado, let's hear from today's show sponsor. We did a whole show about this topic the big three roadblocks for new investors. Remember what it was. It was not enough time not enough deals and not enough money. Well, the people over at rent to retirement, they get it. That's why they offer fully turnkey properties in markets where the numbers actually makes sense Renta retirements properties are already renovated leased and managed allowing you to invest with confidence out of state. We're talking about markets like Birmingham. Memphis in Cincinnati, where I actually own property. You can choose from single family and multifamily investments and get this rent to retirement works with a network of lenders who can help you with financing including private lending, and self directed.

"Good girl season to you, by the way starts on March third. So you have time to catch up. It's real worth it. There's never been anything on the lifetime channel that's been seen by forty million people. Mean not just lifetime. We shouldn't. We shouldn't pile on lifetime like many cable channels, right? So. Any chance, but lifetime in particular has a certain stigma. I think which is not real when they could've. Yeah. No. I would say, yes. I would say yes, except I I saw season two of unreal. Good. Season one of those great great. And then it went very downhill saved. Unreal. Didn't they and didn't quite work out for them? Well, that's that's good girls and watched on Netflix, even though I debuted on NBC, and we'll see how continues to happen in our digital age. Jeff Tanada you've done something that you've extremely rarely do. We just take David jen's advice. Yeah. Yeah. You'd think I would have learned my lesson at this point. But no, I still I still go back into the into the into the breach last week. You raved about escape at Denham Maura, and it sounded like a show that I would love and that my wife would love and that we would love to binge, and it it physically pains me to say, so, but man, you were right. Nice. It is it's a fantastic show. We're we're not finished yet. We're about halfway through short show. But each episode feels like film, like a full film mo- most. I think the shortest episode is fifty five minutes. So like in the longest episode like ninety minutes of they're very lengthy episode. So they also structured like in their shot beautifully. But they're also sort of each one has its own intro kind of thing going on it feels like a film mic experience a cinematic experience. So they're full full meals each episode, and man, it's great the performances are outstanding Paul dano, and she'll Toro, but especially. Patricia. Orca Patricia Arquette. Oh my God. She's amazing. She's always amazing. She's just always great. But this show in particular. She really is is just free to be ugly and despicable and sort of. Not not a good person in this show. Right. Not a good person. But very believable, very real. I mean, this is a true story. They're playing real people. But I have not yet conto to see if if there's a likeness. That's that's comparable. I haven't looked up the store. Here's a pro tip. Don't Google real life people of shows that you're watching that are based on things because it will almost certainly spoil it like, right? I'm not like literally the Google auto complete will spoil what is going to happen the show. So don't don't do that. But it is it's phenomenal. It is beautifully shot by Ben Stiller directed each episode. And I'm suddenly in all of his directorial talented. It's really like felt like it came out of nowhere. Like we've seen him Rick things before. But this is like a order of magnitude more difficulty than I feel like anything he's ever done, and such daring choices and really allowing the actors to sort of flourish in ways that you don't normally. We see and television shows like this it it's really good and also kind of makes your skin crawl and in a lot of ways. I mean, just went just wait. What just wait?.
