"Everything like that going to teach you why those things get tight. They caused the damage to the disks in everything. That's within once. You understand that then you understand the gravity of the situation. If i don't do this i will have a problem. And then once we understand that information then we will show you how to do it so now becomes yours. Crawford is a great example of that they build a community of people who who want to learn more and more more and so they they develop this kind of This basis of of people who understand what it is. They're trying to accomplish. They understand how to do it. And then all these cross-fitters gonna hate me and then they overdo it and they come see you right but and then i think the second thing so big big bid right in i think people say oh they're just lazy right no right. There's yes some people are just lazy. No knowing how to do something sure why. Those are really big things that we need to do. A better job of showing people which is which is why. I love the opportunity here with mike. And i also love the opportunity with when it comes to like it said. The church out in california becomes part of their of their culture. It's a lifestyle issue. It's a lifestyle issue. And then i think the second part of it is is kind of all of those things that we talk about mighty else character discipline margin all of those things because it takes it takes a character. It's a character trait today. I'm going to get up. And i'm going to work out or i'm gonna do this. You know pretty much routinely all the time it takes care turn discipline because it has to become part of who you are and then you have to be disciplined in doing it and then you have to. Have you have to understand your priorities. Make it a priority. You won't have the margin for it. And i think that's a big thing people. I don't have time. you don't have time because the priorities are thrown off. And if you truly knew that staying healthy. And i guess here's a better way to put it. If you knew that in your sixties and seventies in potentially eighties that you're going to be in. You could actually tell right. Now you're gonna chronic pain you're going to have all these diseases can have everything. I think it would change a lot of people's minds. I'm so that's why you know when it's easy to do the things when the right in front of you when you're looking out that's twenty or twenty years away. What you do right now affects.

"Could you talk about the relationship between a physical health and mental health and you know a lot of the folks that that ideal with for sure and that you deal with are struggling with some degree of trauma or just something else is going on in their life that leads to bad decisions that leads to maybe spiraling out of control. And we're trying to pull those folks back. What's the connection between your physical health and your mental health. Well i mean other than everybody knows that if you are angry if you're depressed if you're all these type of things you have less motivation right for most of those things you know. That's kinda be as kind of you know. Everybody knows that type of stuff but when it gets down into into it you know scientifically. There's a there's a very high correlation between chronic pain and depression. You in so every time. There's kind of two schools of thought in modern day medicine. One is is that your chemicals Change your behaviors in another. Is that your behaviors. Change your chemical in. I would argue. It's tough right you can. You can make both sides work right if you change your behavior you can change your chemical makeup and if you change your chemical makeup we know for medication. You can change your behavior in so when it gets to it Chronic pain depression in a high correlation depression has a high correlation towards suicide. So we can go a to be to see. There's going to be a subset. A subset of those people that will make all the way through right if we have three if we have three. Two boxes in the last boxes is suicide. There's gonna be some that will fall out on either one but there will be a certain subset that makes it all the way through. And that's that's what we that's the true importance so why physical health is so important when it comes to mental help because at the end of the day. We're all trying to do two things. We're trying to save people's lives and we're trying to save people's souls right and without saving their alive. We exited their soul from facts. Sure in so. It's it's one of those things where chemically so. There's some cold like there's negative feedback loops in this positively backwards and so a negative feedback loop means that when you increase a certain amount of a chemical in the body is going to create a stopping of whatever that's doing so you get too much in their by says that's not gonna cut off that mechanism for making more or there's a positive feedback You have some in there so it seems that needs more than it creates more on grids. Marin so our bodies are kind of a A bunch of those loops in the mental health is the same type of thing. So that negative feedback roper. The positive feedback if you keep having negative thoughts right. Those negative thoughts lead to change in chemical mak- those changes chemical makeup than leads to other things. That happened in your body in. Pain is literally just as a sensor in your body. It's it's nerves. Firing that cause the pain receptors to go off in in so literally..

"Yeah so it was a you know. It's it's one of those things where it's surrounded you your friends everybody. Everybody goes to church and everything will you know. So that kind of started out How how. I got Got closer to some of my best friends. Also one of them was military chaplain and now a a pastor in minneapolis. And so it kind of always been there. I will say this however though like most of us kind of ebbs and flows during your during new year's college and everything like that but one of the things that kind of really Brought me to a place where there's an undeniable presence in my life that could that can you know i guess control anything and it was when my dad woods passing away so my dad died of cancer in you know i tell people i say listen. I'm a scientist by nature. I went to. I went to undergraduate work in in in. Most people find berry berry confusing but i went to undergraduate degree in at university of minnesota for evolutionary biology. I was probably the only person on the campus taking evolutionary biology. And as well as you know history of the new testament in all of these classes because my thing is it's kind of like the the scientists of old. I don't i want to understand the way the world is in the way the human body is and everything like that Not so i can disprove god but so i can understand what he did in so you know we get to this point where i tell people that there's a difference that the only difference between a scientists in a believer is that scientists doesn't want to accept that what they can't understand is controlled by somebody At that's the only that's the only difference is i. Don't know about six years ago. My father was passing away in. You know got down on my knees. Literally dominated prayed a prayer. That asked just so i could speak to him again because he was completely out of. It didn't have any awareness reliable. It was going on. And i said i just wanna talk to him again. You know i don't know. I don't know how to be a man how how's that in so i said i just wanna talk to him again. In the very next day he was completely cleared. while we talk prayed You know. I asked them all the questions. Needed ask And then the very next day he was a complete of it again in. So you know if that wasn't enough to tell me to really get me get me locked in was that about Was probably about a week. we can have later. I said you know. I i know i already prayed this prayer. I know you already did it for me but please give me one more opportunity to speak with him In literally the very next day He was coherent for the whole entire first part of the first part of the morning up until afternoon. We prayed we did all that and then he went..

What is the 'fictional narrative' a White House ex-adviser warns against?

"Hill a former White House advisor and David Holmes Current. US diplomat or the latest and possibly final witnesses to testify publicly in the impeachment inquiry and they gave different views of US policy efforts in Ukraine. Joining me now. From Washington with more details as Wall Street Journal reporter Chaban Hughes Assoc Yvonne in her opening statement Fiona Hill warned lawmakers against what she called a fictional narrative or alternative narrative. She was referencing a theory. That Ukraine had interfered feared in the two thousand sixteen. US elections something. President trump had wanted Kiev to investigate. Can you explain more about this theory. And what hill had to say about it. Well there earned multiple prongs to the theory. There's not any single incident that Republicans use when an advancing this theory but among them is the fact that our one time investigative journalist who was later in the Ukrainian legislature publicize something called the Black Ledger which purported to show some large payments made to a number breath people by a pro Russian president including Paul Manafort the fact of that disclosure. They say helped take out a trump campaign official another piece of evidence. Republican side is an OP. Ed Written Twenty Sixteen by Ukraine's ambassador and which he questioned some of Mr Trump's remarks about Russia and Crimea missile. An Mr Holmes had explanations for all of those they said that in no way did it amount to the sort of top down directed propaganda campaign that Russia had engaged in and Ms Hill in particular really said that the narrative about Ukrainian interference was damaging that absolutely absolutely set Republicans off. They were very sensitive. They said it was unfair to accuse them of having undermined the Russian meddling idea that really is backed up by the entire. US Intelligence Community and Democrats stamp down on that and said Republicans absolutely had been part of undermining the theory about Russian Russian interference in the US elections. So how about David. Holmes did any of his testimony aligned with hills and in what ways did it differ so Mr Holmes and Fiona Hill are coming from two different vantage points David. Holmes is in Ukraine at the embassy. He's a political adviser paying attention to Ukrainian politics. Tech's Ms Hill is in Washington at the National Security Council trying to coordinate a whole bunch of agencies to come together around a focused Ukraine policy so the each present different sides of the picture Mr Holmes in particular could describe overhearing that conversation between President Trump and Dan. US Ambassador to the European Union. Gordon Sandra and which a day after that July twenty fifth phone call Mr Trump asks about the investigations and Gordon. Zong indicates that Ukraine's Presidents Alinsky is fully on board. That was a big one for him. Fiona Hill walked us through really some of the highlights of her closed-door door deposition that day on that she blew up at Gordon. sunlen asking him. Who gave you control of the Ukraine portfolio and Gordon? sunlen comes back doc and says the president did Fiona Hill testifying. She realizes she was quite rude. But that Gordon Zone response had infect shut her up and today we heard I heard Ms Hill. Say in fact. In retrospect I think that Gordon Sunland was right and even though I was angry with him for not looping me into meetings I see he now why he did that. We were on different missions. His instructions had come from the president and mine were of a totally different nature. His was political and about a domestic mystic matter. Mine was about our national security

Ex-White House official, diplomat testify in impeachment hearing

"Two witnesses have been called for today's impeachment hearings against president trump the first Fiona hill who until earlier this year with the top Russia policy specialist on the National Security Council we'll be hearing about her this morning let's focus for the moment on the only other witness on tap today he's a career diplomat serving in the U. S. embassy in Ukraine his name is David Holmes he's testified in private to what he described as an extraordinary conversation between president trump and the US ambassador to the European Union and for more on homes in his testimony were joined by NPR's Bracton Booker have written Hey David so what was it about this call that made David Holmes to lawmakers that he quoted never seen anything like this well David Holmes is a career foreign service officer who testified behind closed doors last week in his transcripts were made available on Monday he said in that deposition that the call is something he remembers quote vividly he says you ambassador Gordon someone into other US officials were at a Ukrainian restaurant on July twenty six isn't someone calls trump to update him on meeting the group had with Ukrainian officials and what struck homes as quote so remarkable is that one some places a call on an unsecure phone line in the middle of a Ukrainian restaurant into homes says he can over here trump and Solomon openly discussing quote investigations be safe to say no one knows who might be listening into a phone call at a restaurant and secured in in in Kiev okay so what what is Dave Holmes say the president and investor someone actually discuss when it comes investigations so according to the transcript home says someone told the president quote he's going to do it and home says after the phone call ended he asked someone about the president's concerns about Ukraine and holds as someone said that trump only cares about quote the big stuff the big stuff at that benefits the president quote like the bite investigation now in his testimony yesterday before lawmakers someone said he never mentioned the bidens in this conversation with homes okay we actually have tape of this that this is the U. investor grins on land and in this exchange with house intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff yesterday and you have no doubt no reason to doubt Mister Holmes recounting of your conversation with the president the only part of Mister Holmes recounting that I take exception with as I do not recall mentioning the bidens that did not enter my mind it was for Riesman two thousand sixteen election your no reason to believe the Mister Holmes would make that up if that's what he recalls are saying your honor is the question of do I I don't recall saying bye I never recall saying bye so David look for this testimony with Dave Holmes to look like a real he said he said that dynamic well something else again of a lot yesterday and also in in homes closed door testimony was the American rapper a sap rocky who was jailed in Sweden how does how does that figure and all this you can't make this stuff up right a sob Recchi makes a cameo in an impeachment hearing it gets noon check by the witness that is testifying in Gordon sound in the U. ambassador now he's some rocky was the subject of this phone call between trump and and sound and according to someone's recollection he says at the time of the phone call the rapper was having real legal trouble in Sweden he was arrested on assault charges and while much of the focus of this phone call had to do with the investigations some would testify that actually the majority of this phone call was about trumps interest and how to strategize around the interest in the rapper's arrest okay what what we focus on what to expect from David Holmes testimony to you you've been talking to people just about like him his career what would people say about him honestly I couldn't find anybody to say a negative thing about David Holmes he is he is someone who's been described as principled as ethical and in his mid forties he still considered a rising star in the former foreign service he serving in Kosovo and Afghanistan and Russia and I think it's important to note that in twenty fifteen he want that's our twenty fourteen he won the constructive descent award given to mid level career officers for voicing concern on US policy with just one note this happened in the Obama administration and people who who know him are worried that you know he he may end up being his career may be derailed because of the spotlight and in the
