The whole time thing universe different universe time variant shits having variant the guy who plays jarvis in aged carter also played jarvis in and And i and. I could easily see them now. Once loki wraps up. That's how they explain like dasher their cannon. They're variants Shut up about nine. yeah yeah which. Obviously this is the time stamp for this episode that we've recorded before the less episode of loki comes out just so everyone is on board with that we do get Molina references. He makes the quote genetic potential. At one point. I'm choosing to believe this. Sounds pretty ex- gene ish to me and not lake superior gene et cetera. It's better than eugenics ish. Yes yes sure. Yeah that is what. I choose to believe there. It had been referenced already today Is vest goes through to sasha and she wears infinity war it has so many pockets israel. Good i didn't catch that until i saw it on tick-tock today that's that's funny. Yeah they just heard. Comic delivery was just so good with everything We also another throwback we get the face swab technology from captain america winter soldier. It comes back and it is great. And i did not end that coming. It was shocking on their soldier. Didn't sharon use it. Yeah yeah it's the gift that keeps giving okay. That's of the of the what i assume are stark tech things that keep coming back. We've somewhat left the the barf Cutting room floor and we're here with this will take that back. Barf was in Was a far from home anyway. Not the point A villain weaponising fair moons was kind of the entire thing that purple man did in ak jessica jones the first season i was the whole thing. "There's obviously a ton of easter eggs by the time you're listening to this. You've probably watched three different easter eggs videos. I'm going to hit the big ones that i think are relevant to to people who enjoy these stories and have watched through a lot of the mc you in the first one. We finally find out what happened to budapest. Budapest budapest We finally find it out. That was where blackwood on hawkeye. They were doing a an arson to kill drake off His daughter was presumably casualty of that war. Neither of them died. There is a big standoff. there's a ten day. Hideout spent two days in a ceiling tile that natasha new elena hidden in the movie We also then if you missed it when they were in the safe house yelena looks the wall and says well what makes those holes in the wall in the tasha arrows signifying her and hawkeye had had a big shootout from safe house. Which i thought was fun. I liked the implication that they like. We're so bored. They played tic-tac-toe on the walls of that title. But it was only like five games of tic tac toe like that like they were there for twenty five minutes. We find out what so early on. I thought this was fun. Alexi is working for the north institute which in the comics actually has ties to the room where they trained killers to assassinate black widow the reference that some of the work being done there is coming off the back of the winter soldier program. I'm pretty sure the north institute was a real thing where they were where the government was studying. Mind control Tritter that's a real thing because it's named after ali north. Which has its own issues. We had talked about the lead in credits. Which is very strange that we got leading credits. Well there's probably reason for that. Aside from ruining the taskmaster reveal for a lot of us It also showed a number of lake aside from mind control in in the room stuff but it showed a number of major political figures. The ones that. I caught. Jimmy carter bill. Clinton and vladimir putin with drake off which. I think it's fun when marble does. I think it's fun when marvel puts you know it's the universe into like real world things we've found out that dre cop actually assassinated jfk. Did you guys know that. Oh did we find that was that was left in the x. men universe. I do like that that now. Far enough away that that bill clinton is right is a historical callback. Yes weird to me. And i time. Thomas is cruel. That's all we talked a bit about. Ot's character mason. So he is a fixer of sorts. Obviously in this movie but his source material he is the son of spider man. Villain tinkerer who yeah who club was featured in spider homecoming. I can't imagine they're ever going to connect those dots. But that's fun there are. I'm not gonna listen out here but there's a lot of references to the other avengers In the movie they say one of the big ones the god from space the incredible shrinking convict and of course all the doting. That red guardian does over captain america. I think some mention of tony stark. Like we can all be funded by tony stark or something..

"Plus series there. I don't know if they're going to be like huge in the movies though crossover but and then i think we'll get The the thunderbolts will be the movie bad guy team and there might be like a tv show. Bad guy team as well. Here's what i would throw out. So i if i wanted to like if i wanted to call you know my shot that i can see us. Getting two teams the thunderbolts. And the dark avengers. And i think that is decided on how No way home goes because in the dark avengers the dark reign story line What is his name. The green goblin. Norman osborn is a big shot caller. Yet he is the one pulling the strings for the dark avengers. And so i think that if we see a future where there is a norman osborn in In the marvel cinematic universe because they have the shared rights where he is like pulling the strings and bankrolling things as like an evil. Tony stark than i can see us having two teams and that is fun because then at that point if you think like it's hard to cheer for the bad guys but if there's too bad teams then there's you know there's certainly there's the bad and then there's like this there's the bad and there's the flawed and so how do you. How do you see them. Interact you know man norman. Osborn in the it'd be such a good get. Well that's the that's the rumor but then again there's a lot of rumors in spiderman home and no one knows what's happening. How are we all going to be if tobey maguire andrew garfield just aren't in the movie like just really actually aren't here's the one better. What if we go to see no way home and it's just more bs. Maybe maybe a fun thing would be like us for recording before we go to see it what we think. It is in the recording afterwards because the first recording would be so bad. We'll never release least it. Hey that's that's what. I had for the for the movie today. I want to go through the easter eggs row. Quick unless you guys have more closing thoughts on the movie can can. I like thirty seconds. I want to talk about millionaire real quick because we haven't really talked about much. I swear to god. I thought you were going to say more again. So i think i thought was really interesting but i think the biggest problem that i had with with that was her character. Just on how quickly on a dime. She turned on raewyn stone. Yeah joy. I cannot remember jake and i think the one thing about the plot like i could not i could not get over like i can hand wave of the florida..

"Yes death character Native american of the cheyenne nation Looks like she fits in a little bit more with like daredevil and sure bullseye in part of the part of the theory here too. is that the hawkeyes. So there's a hawkeye. Run where clint loses hearing and so that can be easily part of this. I was just curious if was anything. Here's one kazi is is credited. Kasi is in the comics. Causey mirrors customers qazi mir muzak aka clown. Yes thank you who is hired by numerous mob bosses including the kingpin. The and the leader of the tracksuit dracula's yes to kill clinton barton. So maybe we're going to get the tracksuit dracula and hockey. I can we for a second. I love the idea that marvel at this point has so much clout that they could your dad. There can be to episode portion of hawkeye. Where he's disbanding the tracksuit dracula so so to cool to add more context to this. Then both the. Clint barton is death. Storyline and the tracks. Dracula's are all from that matt fraction run of hawkeye. That is very popular and good to make it clear to the listeners. That no point. In time. When i was reading these notes or watching black widow did. I think we're going to use the words tracksuits dracula's together more than all right my favorite rob zombie song real quick. Brian d'arcy james is listed as being in all eight episodes of hawkeye uncast. End his uncast. Good sign. I bet it's him i don't know who he is but i bet it's him. Yeah so so man. Andrew thought about thoughts about where this kind of launches us that we haven't already said. I'm just giving my thoughts andrea. It's my turn. i don't know something something. Dark avengers elena and fucking kurt. Russell son are going to team. Up my my. I think my question at this point. Obviously those things that you said my question at this point is are we getting dark avengers. are we getting. Thunderbolts is an amalgamation of the two. And i'm curious to see how how that comes together. Actually let me pose this question. So do i wonder if knowing that there are potential other villains in hawkeye. I'd be curious to we'll we'll find out is maybe elena is introduced as an early villain. He puts an air quotes. But maybe it's leeann keep bishop teaming up and maybe that means that kate bishop actually gets on this new this new team up and maybe i don't know fuck it maybe vows team whatever that is i like the idea that vows kind of the new nick fury And she doesn't really necessarily have to be evil. She's just complicated. Yeah i think so like. I don't know it's cool that like maybe. This is our new like earthly avengers. Where they're they're going to other countries and then the new cap. Sam is going to go out and space or something. I would add this. So i think kate bishops going to end up in the young avengers. I think that's where she's going. I was going to say that. The young avengers are definitely rumored. And then i think the dark avengers are also coming. Probably two.

"And i think they'll wrap up probably the like the red room. Wrap up then to. We'll get a scene at the beginning align at the beginning of hawkeye where it's like and we just finished free. The last black widow like way to go mission accomplished that we did all that off camera right. Yeah and that's that's what it will be. That's that's all. I see spinning out of this. Is that that setup. Yeah hard agree I like i said. I mean i think the this movie served exactly two purposes purpose. One sendoff scarlett johansson purpose to introduce florence pew. That was it. They could have sent out a press. Release that said scholar johann exact. Same thing So i mean. I think that the i think we'll get foreign spew in the hawkeye series. Obviously i mean she's booked for all the episodes. I don't think that we get to see vowels team so to speak together for like a while you now. Because i think that it's gonna sort of be like vowel. Doing the nick fury thing talking to people about the vendors initiative and maybe she's giving some director some directions and pulling some strings from behind the scenes but like. I don't think that we're going to see elena bova and john walker getting out of the same limo in the next four or five movies. I think val is going to be a major player in hawkeye. And we'll we'll get i. I see that happening. And i think we'll get maybe a a post credits at the last episode of of the like the same tony stark showing up in incredible hulk saying i'm here to talk to you about the avengers i'm here to ventures initiative but i think you're right to full team won't be formed then for a few years after that aside from jeremy renner well aside from like hawkeye. Kate bishop angelina. Bulava have a. And i'm asking this 'cause i've not looked up. Have they revealed who like the bad guy of hawkeye is going to be because all that i know so far. Is it supposed to be like a passing of the torch story for bishop. And i have the. I have the imdb page open. I can rattle off named characters so far if that if that we want to do that. And that sparks anything in anyone. But i haven't seen anything official. I would take that. Give me that list all right. So i'm seeing named characters maya lopez zach. Do nasc eleanor. Jacques duquesne is i'm from pittsburgh. Cassie william lopez. elena boloba. Clint barton kate bishop and city park jogger. From what i can tell. Jacques or jack duquesne. So jack swordsman. Yeah he's jacques. Duquesne aka the swordsman which. I've never heard of this character before. He looks like fucking tool. He's connected to clint barton. duh the mandarin against iron man committed various crimes around the world. Yeah so like maybe. That's like cool. Surprisingly swordsman fit in well and develop crush on the scarlet which are yard alongside of brainwash black panther black widow and power man okay. Mile lopez is echo in the comex..

"We can cut this view but the reference when when scarlett janssen's watching moon raker. Which like i love. The natasha's favorite bond movies moon rakers excellent excellent. But it's also really interesting because olga kiriyenko was was bon. Vaughn girl she was. She's in character in quantum of solace. Oh yeah i did know that. Then yeah so. That's that's kind of how i was like. Oh that's a. Yeah that's a big and fits for like spy movie at the james bond seen. I just had the thought of like. I enjoy the trend of marvel giving it's like female heroes now. The personality trade of likes old like likes classic television or movies that called back to scarlet witch. She likes sports. Kyle sports drink and beer. She's one of the guys. I did not have easter egg in my my list will get to real quick earlier but i thought that was. That was good to point out. Yeah i stick to what i said earlier than i think antonio drake is done and we don't see her again but todd i liked what you said about does general. Ross take the taskmaster helmet and do we get a new taskmaster because that seems a little bit. More impossible to me than antonia drake off coming back. I firmly think antonio drake ob done well. Let's let's jump to this last oso less little bit had entered. Taskmaster is and you guys can fill in. If i miss any because we'll hit here instead of easter egg obviously taskmasters thing is copying people's abilities. A drakovac even says like they. They've been learning from your friends. And so we obviously saw the ones that i gathered The black panther claws were so on the nose. That was in such a dramatic moment. That like okay. cool Obviously a lot of captain. America which i saw on the internet speculation. That red guardian didn't have his shield because taskmaster shield was red guardians shield That's why red guardian never got his shield in the movie when he pulled out his uniform. Which which would make sense. Because the shield that he throws towards the end is taskmaster shield We obviously saw so captain. America moves hawkeye moves. We saw a winter soldier knife. Flip which i think is neat And the i tell that taskmaster was a woman was the black widow pose mirror up very early on. You're like oh right. You're not a typical masculine body. In that suit okay. Cool yeah. I don't know if you guys caught other ones but those are the ones that i saw those related i saw you..

"Because they were going to arbiter and then she wears the vest which is obviously the same person. I don't wanna. I don't wanna do that. The only other thing. I want to add here is that i'm pretty much in agreement with matt. I think we get ewelina beluga back absolutely in my dreams. We get a red guardian short run of the winter guard. But they don't do disney plus shows for no reason they always have something that comes of it and so i- unless there's a reason for the winter guard to get together that that leads to a new enemy or something. We're not gonna see that. And i think the only way we see anything further with taskmaster is if it looked like she left her home. It on the battlefield. In general ross shows up to the battlefield that everyone has vacated and so i could see potentially in a world where he takes whatever recording technology was in that and like he makes a new taskmaster. We'll talk more about taskmaster in a hot second But i we don't need to talk about it but i had a bullet point here listeners. That you should know about where we specifically going to talk about the red guardian. 'cause i thought he was one hundred percent going to die here in this movie and he didn't I don't think we need to talk more about red guardian but at this point. We all want david harbour. We're going to tweet at marvel. Give us more. David harbors red guardian because all of his lake old war stories that were obviously not real when he says to to black widow like does he talk about me. Does he ever tell you david. David harbors like war. Stories are gonna get the same treatment that like louise's retelling of events from ant man. Everyone is going to be like. Wouldn't it be hilarious if david harbour shows up and and blah blah blah and. It's like no. That would actually be terrible. Because you're not a movie writer. But but your heart's in the place like that'll be the bit online for the next year and a half. But i mean i mean isn't it. Isn't it like fairly likely that we could see a show. That's just like the adventures of red guardian. I think it would be. I could see them doing like a cartoon but again like if they i. It just doesn't seem like disney pluses putting out show unless they just want like pump more money into the engine which they could They don't seem to do shows that don't have a purpose like it adds context it. Prepare something new counterpoint. Talking in the winter soldier that that that was so that was the second time we got to see val that gave us. If being an asshole. I i can definitely see like red guardian popping into the shows the deep lush shows as a like again. Just that like old contact. That's that knows where they need to go in russia or like they get a little bit of david arbor. David harbour gets to cash a check and then like he's gone like i can see him popping in for fun.

"There's a couple of things that i thought they did really well. You know this. This was like as great as david. Harbour was like yes he was definitely driving comedic side. This would have been a very different movie without him. But i think florence and i. I've not seen a lot of other things at florence. Pukes been in hugh has been in but i really liked her performance. I thought she was great. She brought i mean. There's a lot of chemistry between between her character. And and scott hanson character which one baotou ewelina had a lot like ewelina is dripping with character. More so than we ever got with natasha. Honestly up until age of altron because like think about like what. Natasha wasn't armenian to adventure. She the lady character. You know what i mean. They were just like hey. Let's look at scarves but for a while and like they. The writers clearly know that they acknowledged that and they say look. This was ten years ago like we need. We need more care development than just like dresser up in fancy clothes. You know what i mean like. It's gotta move past that and her kind of making the jokes about the three point. Land day awesome. It was very much. I think that was very much signaling. A change of the guard right. We're like if you lena is our new black widow. Our new assassin character. She's got a lot more personality. She's she's she's a funny character she's got a lot of heart she's got motive like she's got an interesting back story and we got all of that and that's what. I think we really got out of this movie more so than anything else. Outside of a really cool you know everything like whatever recreation of the winter soldier fighting on the carrier battle in the movie like there was some really good character developing here for her i i would agree with with all that i think that the easy bet is the elena bova is is gonna be part of whatever val is doing which we can chat a bit about that later and i'm looking at imdb and she's booked in all eight episodes of hawkeye so there it is already so yep that's certainly thing and if you haven't seen a florence pugh do other things. I caught her in midsummer. Acting rain is great. Change one hundred percent agree that they they are building her from the ground up as they vary like fleshed out character and i think that is fantastic. She was just every seen that. I think she was in. She stole the show and like the only time she wasn't ceiling. Show is because david harbour was in the scene. And he's just such a big like like follow charisma. Yes this deal the show from zone a real quick so we're not going to talk about the fact that florence pews dating breath from scrubs. I do wanna call out that zach. Braff and david harbour. The exact same age didn't like that. Doesn't it Tibet to wash my mouth out with funny so i would like to put on top of all. The bits marvel has ever done ever in anything. Ever alligator loki at the top directly underneath yelena believers vest like with in pockets in the whole larry and and legit scarlett johansson is wearing that vest in infinitely ever. Yeah that's great. That was so this. We're not gonna talk about this. But that was a huge. There was a big theory. That like the scarlett. Johansson natasha character. We got in infinity. War was actually face swapped yelena character because of yeah because of that because of the scene where they showed the drawing of the outline over her face.

"Side because like we're gonna get thunderbolts eventually. And whether it's william hurt or like some other skin bag we're going to get secretary like i. I don't think we ever see molina again. Which honestly fine. I would agree with her. I think drake off is actually dead. Dead dead the. I'm just going off the characters you have here like Mason was fine. Like every every james bond needs the hawaiian shirt guy who lives in cuba. Who can get him a plane this weekend. It's like that's a it's a trope. That's we was if i may quickly though i could see rick mason coming back as like a colson kind of figure. Only because like that casting so i. I'm going to butcher this fake. He's a pretty big. I mean he's the he's a supporting character in handmaid's tale. Yeah that's and. I thought he was really. I think he did a really good job with that character. There's not much there. I could see him coming back as like a size q. Shale yeah exactly well and it's worth saying they can't. If you'd have asked me a month ago i would have told you that. There's a fifty percent chance that mason was taskmaster because they kept. Ot's character on the down low. They didn't talk about him. You didn't see him doing anything because they were trying to keep taskmasters identity secret and i think that that was intentional to try and make you think that ot could end up being you know mason slash taskmaster which obviously didn't happen. But i i would agree like maybe a chance but yeah keep keep going matt. Yeah i i don't think we get taskmaster again. I really don't a thank. That taskmaster was a very crossbones level. We just needed a disposable villain to kick some ass and lake. She did kick some ass and it was real. I really enjoyed the taskmasters scenes but like the way that her character ended in. This movie i think is just like a. she's done. I think she was only being driven to be taskmaster by her father's control. And i think that that's over and then i really hope we get back. We found a lot like all of your richter's was a big get. And i was really surprised that we got him for one. Ten second bit his arm and called it a day I was really surprised by that. So my my hot take is we only get. You'll aimable over back with the exclusion of secretary of state general. Ross the two that. I really hope we get back. Our david harbour and ursa. I don't know that we do but it would be nice And kind of the reason that..

"They killed crossing like ten minutes into that movie and we got drake off hours. Yeah fucking darren. Cross got more character development. So we're talking about characters so let's let's go into that so we obviously got a handful of new characters which you know. I think it's probably a safe assumption that some of these characters will be long lasting throughout the for awhile and then i think there are some that will probably never hear from again so for you all i would just love to hear like who stood out to you and you know who do you want more from or who could have used more story from. Who do you want to see. Carry them forward for the next decade. And why is it david harper. It's absolutely i mean. First and foremost it. Is david david harbour. The when he finally when we finally cut to him arm-wrestling people in the prison lying about fighting captain. America i got. I got everything. I was waiting for in the movie. It was incredible beyond that. I would have liked to have seen more Of ross in the movie. I i think he's like he's going to be a bigger player going forward. We all know that end. We've gotten such a slow drip on that that i wanted to. I wanted that The spigot to open a little bit more. He looked awful by the way. And i think in this. This is forecasting. I think that that is he. He is an older man at this point. And i think that is either. Just the the the harsh grit grasp of age rolling down. Or i think it is alluding to the fact that like he is ultimately going to do something wild with the super soldier serum and become red hulk I'm just here to say that we're going to get red hulk eventually and i'm gonna keep saying it. Even if he retires like never doing another movie. I'm going to say you have is going to be red hulk. I feel like the deal was signed on for these amount of movies. The mouse will keep you alive. That long they gotta fight. He's gotta get him another blood boy and new blakeley. I'm just saying veterans between william hurt in civil war and this is two thousand eighteen. I assume like right. Probably like three years have elapsed. 'cause i assume they filmed civil war. Like fifteen the difference between like he looks really good in civil war. He's like he's like trim whatever and then like he just looked like death warmed over like dude three years. It's like hit your hard hope. He's okay who survived the pandemic. Okay william hurts. Appearance aside i would agree with with. Kyle that if you would've asked me how much Secretary ross. We were going to get in this movie. I would have said a lot more than what we got. Yes yeah yeah okay. Here's here's kind of my hot take. I don't think anybody from this movie comes back. Except yelena belova and me out. Because i want david harbour. Back william hurt. I guess okay. Secretary ross..

"Cold war era that. that's an interesting take. I don't think i think that's original. I don't think they were because wasn't wasn't regarding. Guardian black widows husband originally asked just a couple of days to alexi black or a red guardians but alexi shostakovich is she ultimately is black widows husband and the comics. They they definitely up again melina. Melina character is based off of the character iron maiden in the comics when she was totally not that. But there's an easter egg that reference to helmet in her like workshop. But yeah it was it was it was new yeah i liked that framing device but but ultimately you know the plot was very thin it was just like oh we're going to go take down this area base in the sky. Okay well this vendors have missed half yeah this guy that runs the world or whatever and elected bill clinton. It's go ahead. matt. I was just gonna say like the i told mattie last night when we got home that like i felt like that movie needed to be a full hour longer to connect all the plot points. But i didn't want it to be a full hour longer at all like i really didn't want that and i feel like the whole movie was just a vehicle of let's make scarlett johansson do cool shit Period goes to see black widow do cool. Things analyst was go ahead. I was going to say like i think that. They came up with a really complex plot. Just to make scarlett johansson do cool things and it made the whole plot feel very hollow. It felt halfway between a cl- kind of more classic. Mc you movie and the new disney shows timmy. Where like the story like you said the story did need maybe another two episodes quote unquote to out but in movie format that would have drug along drug on for a lot longer than that amount of time so a it really felt to me like the bridge into the disney plus series of shows even though it came out after three shows are are almost wrapped up now. Well and it's it's worth noting to. This is a big payoff from a vendor so if you watched marvel legends they give like a nice little lead up to this movie and black widow in general and i think a lot of us would probably forgotton logie's monologue in two thousand twelve where he says he refers to You know drakovac daughter which like never get a resolution to that..

"I obviously we all talked as we watched in prepared to watch this. And i think matt put it best. They're having watched civil war beforehand. That's been the advice given other people. Because i couldn't really put my finger on it but this was like an epilogue to civil war to me if it was like civil war captain. America's civil war you know three point five or whatever that nfl. I didn't realize the so. After you'd said that meant the title cards for each location they were out was the same font as they used in civil war yum little easter egg. But i hadn't and i didn't catch it until that wasn't that the same infinity were to as a little bit differently changes their. Yeah yeah i mean. This was the spiderman far from home of civil war. Like here's a character that was in and game in a different plot and that vaguely matters to what we've already seen and this was here is a character that was in civil war with different plot. That vaguely matters to what we've already seen the bbc homecoming. Yeah that's super what i said. The comparison i kept coming back to was the second ant man movie. It had that about that amount of relevance on the overall plotter that that amount of stakes almost was except now the quantum realm is all. We're going to be talking about for the next five years bishop aside from that. I was totally way there with youtube. That's we're and we're gonna we're gonna see taskmaster come up again. I'm sure and we're gonna see i. We better see david harbour and rachel again so florence view. We're gonna talk about some of those things so so we'd kind of touched about it again so listeners. In case you're still kind of lost where this land so black widow takes place immediately after civil war which leads it before infinity war And then that post credits scene you get is after and game I think that we had said before the recording it was like seven years after Civil war the events of the events of the movie we watched his civil war was twenty sixteen and then the end of end game was twenty twenty three. Yes yes that sounds right so so. Let's let's talk a bit more about this so overall you know we kind of discussed some of this. But what are your thoughts on the plot overall so i mean we have the story that kind of went from natasha of eating. You know secretary ross. She's then rescuing sister. She's been disbanding the red room. She's then taking down raikov. She's then just kind of like getting away in the end What what were your thoughts. Your thoughts good bad ugly over the plot that we had here today. It all felt very i. I kept getting like bourne identity vibes from how the plot jumped from kind of place to place lace once once you kind of catch up with. That's what they're doing. It flows a little smoother it was a tad jumpy at the beginning but I liked it. It was it was an action movie. Plot kept it moving. Yeah much like game. The first fifteen minutes does not reflect their to represent the rest of the movie and for better for worse. I liked the insure role. I like to the setup. I think that's an the the whole lake. The ritual vice character with molina in lexi are Sleeper agents. that's cool. That's very like late..

"It was really fun. I thought it was funny. There's some good action sequences. It gave scarlett johansson. Great right off to the series. And i love florida puke Yeah go although i i watched i watched it a digitally on my computer screen so i had a slightly different experience in that regard i think had i seen it with my with my jiang greasy popcorn and a and a half gallon of soda. I would have enjoyed it a lot. More it was it was good. It was fun The the tone for being a movie about child trafficking felt off to me but like you said if if you turn that part of your brain off and just enjoy it. The mission impossible miss of it. It was a fun movie matt before you go to add onto. Kyle said there's a line that drako says that like i'm utilizing resource. That is limitless. And it just. I watch it with subtitles reading books reading movies and he goes. There's a resource that is limitless and it just goes girls watching it watching it. I was like yeah. Yeah i am. I leaned over to mattie very early in the movie and did my best grew from despicable. Me goals owns all throughout the movie. Started like drake off dog you. There's an unlimited resource that the world has so much of its goals But yeah i mean i. I thought it was a fine movie. I'd find it was good. It was it. it was very fine I thought that the writing was funny. Enough to keep me hooked. The action was cool. The plot super didn't matter I watched civil war yesterday while yes two days ago now. I watched civil war before. I watched the day before you watch this. Yeah and that really helped me put into perspective what to expect. You know 'cause like i think had i gone into black widow not watching civil war. Even though i knew it took place in the past my brain has been so focused on like what's going on with low key. What's coming with the future of the mc you what is scarlet which is existence. Meaning that like all of that. Being absent from black widow would've wigged me out a little bit more but because i watched the movie leading into this movie it fit and i didn't really have any of those complaints about the casting was great. I thought the writing was was pretty solid. I think marvel has really nailed down. The equation of here is a c plus movie with a minus writing. And i do i do like that. So yeah and i thought it was a good swansong for scarlett. Johansson is at the end of the day. It's really all it. was she put a lot of the. Mc you on her back for like twenty years deserve the solo film or show and she got one so there you go. I would just just briefly to add into that..

"It's it's not the same way that we would do. You know how it works. Any views usually two to four minutes long but sometimes they can be a little longer story when you when you live long enough. All kinds of strange things happen very right in saying that the greek heroes the original superheroes in part because of the nature of genes vision but also because of its message of diversity and inclusion. David harbour is alexi shostakovich's aka the red guardian. I think that fans are eager to see more of natasha romanoff. She is really the only one of the original vendors who hasn't had her own standalone. Movie got thorogood. Captain america iron man hulk and you know it's time for natasha's story to be told you know fans of these movies really wanna hear more about her pass which has been shrouded in mystery the red room and what she's been through as a human being. I think fans are eager to see that. So you're part of the mcu. How do i feel about joining the mcu. I don't know how one could answer that question except awesome It's really great. I mean i i would. Do i love these movies. And i think that marvel nancy. You do them better than anybody. The you know the production of the movies. The movies themselves scripts the characters are also rich and at the highest level. Then on top of that you have this world of brothers and sisters is now were making the rest of the mythology and that mythology is crossing over and weird wonderful ways. So i don't know how. I could possibly answer that question without Simply saying why seemed to set a lot more but simply saying I feel awesome about it. Who is red gardy. The alexi shostak of plays a very unique particular role in the cautious life. you'll see a about natasha and this guy holds a. I mean he really holds a special place in her life in her hard in what she's been through and the film gets to explore her the younger woman and then after the events of civil war and when she'd become an adventure and it explores the choices that this guy's made in his life And they have to come together in this movie and they have to revisit a lot of this. Steven Soderbergh's 'No Sudden Move' to Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival

"There's a new steven soderbergh movie coming out. Oh really just assumed. There's one every month now. Accurate that is fair but i reference of course there in the question out of sight still my favorite steven soderbergh movie. And there's a reason for it. Soderbergh himself said when asked about making this movie. No sudden move which is a heist movie. The last time. I shot a movie in detroit with a great script and a great cast. Things worked out. Pretty well yeah. He made a masterpiece. This one though. Unlike out of sight is a period piece it said back in nineteen fifty five and is about a group of small time criminals who are hired to steal the documents. Seems like it's simple josh. I don't know if you've heard this before it's a heist that seems like it'll be simple And then something goes off if you want to make a move proposition for you. It's never your fault. is it offensive. Do you think i was skiing. I'm sure there's going to be some interesting socio political elements to the movie being set in detroit in the mid fifty s. A time where you know. Some of the big auto plants are starting to close. You've got this growing class and racial divide. So it's gonna be a grittier piece. It is going to be more akin to something like out of sight. Or even maybe kind of the limy versus the breezy flash of something like ocean's eleven but the cast just like with ocean's eleven is also a big big reason to see this movie and i guess clooney jack fully himself danny ocean himself was originally set to star and had to back out due to the pandemic but listen to this cast even without clooney. Victor Lucas is a Video Game Industry Treasure

"If you've missed Victor Lucas before Kinda funny. Yeah period. Because he's been on a bunch of stuff electrically around of course my brand. I've been doing it forever. Twenty five years. This was that honestly at the end of this year. It's twenty five. Full years have been all the threes adulation there thank you. And so it's a surreal thing when you hit twenty five years of the same email address at the same job most part personally. Of course everything has been different as we've grown from a weekly show we went to a daily TV show and then we had all all kinds of growth that way. Yeah and then we've had shrink down a little bit in this sort of Internet age and you have deal with Youtube and streaming and But one of the things that we did this year as we moved into cafe space at the Vancouver Film School so awesome which is an actual public space. That people can come and watch the show in and of course all kinds of incredible guests come through Vancouver uncover. They're working on movies and TV shows and video games and comic books and I've been able to tap into that so we've had people like animators from Spiderman into the spider versed. Uh David haters been on SAM has been on a garbage. I love that K- t- terrible garbage on kind of funny because it's great and I love of days gone by the way I thought that game was awesome and I thought I wasn't going to your favorites a- It's great to have this this forum where people can come in You know chat chat with everybody. That's been my favorite thing because I remember not the last time but one of the first times you came through especially when the new studio it was right as you were like pivoting and I'm doing youtube for the first time I I don't know what I'm doing I I still don't sort of watch. You grow in thrive going from TV and having been thirteen guy forever. Yes because I mean that's how I knew you. That's how I and I know that's how Canada knows you you walk the streets. Candida Europhobes. Celebrity people have grown up watching you. It is surreal and that really happened when we went daily. Well you know when we were a weekly show it was on the weekends and you had to be individual games when we went daily and started talking about all kinds of other entertainment. Suddenly families were watching the show together and I could palpably feel that whenever I walk around and I still get a little bit of that because people were on for so long yeah. I'm grateful to all of our partners. That then all the viewers that have been watching. Yeah that's always my favorite thing when you come by the fact that the chat in the comments are usually put on either the victim who is being like. Oh my God Lucas. Because they know you and they've again bet you've been doing this for so long doing it so well Oh and also you're one of the few people in the games industry. No one ever talked shit about. Everybody loves me. I had a little shit at this year. which is even that like? I think it was the normal thing where it was Okay clearly this isn't every started going crazy understandably. Yeah and it was like all right cool but that's not what Vick we do know. That was the whole thing. That's how vic would do this. Yeah Yeah it as an entrepreneur and I know that you're you have the same kind of perspective is what when you build something you know hard it is to build things. Yeah so when I interview people or I critique things I have that perspective I have that kind of awareness fairness that people don't set out to build shitty things and so you don't have to come in with this binary kind of attitude that this sucks and this is great. This sucks and this is awesome and so much of honestly. I don't want to throw shade at Youtube but so much of what I see on Youtube is is that it's like people just want to pile on the want to celebrate something too much or hate hate something too much. You know. It's funny where we have a bunch of inside baseball questions later about values and how it's all comes together but I do think that a lot of that comes with Youth in not knowing exactly what you're doing so I don't mean you in terms of age but in terms of I'm going to be a reviewer I'm GonNa Review Stuff I look back at my reviews from two thousand seven to two two thousand ten thousand dollars in cringe because like I m being mean and I m being. I am ignoring how long it took these people to make something. Because I didn't know that at the time and that you also want to set set up a you're setting up your own boundaries. On how you're going to look at this stuff as well you're defining your viewpoint and all you have is that moments moments in time and that feels like a totality. It feels like I've got a really greg whole life so I know what game and then Game Rule Ford another five ten years ears and your perspective changes for sure but you know honestly I I say this a lot into People that watch our stuff is Take these opinions in and get to know the individuals which I still firmly believe could Cisco Niebuhr were you know they were the the guy. That's that's what I based reviews on the run on which it was a key part of what electric playground heart and soul was. They were The Best of the In the game and they really understood how to use their personalities to help flavor their material and you get to know them as individuals and you would sort of base your opinion on that and I think that's still holds true to this day. I think it's really important into not just blindly trust any viewpoint or any brand but get to know the individuals and see how your tastes align and then you can kind of use that as a a bit of a guiding star for what you're gonNA sample one hundred checkout. That's the power of what we do now. Right the fact that you go to youtube channels podcasts websites because you like personalities you understand what that personality analogy is the fact that you know to using example from kind of funny this year on the subway one of our best friends was able to go in and post. It'd be like moonlighters. Greg Miller ask game name and I looked at that and I'm like they know me incredibly well so I am is amazing. I grabbed it and I was like. How did I miss this? Games out there and It is is like a little action role playing game a little adventure kind of mode in there. Some puzzles to solve but lots of Little Fund tongue-in-cheek details the fact that the main character looks like a block version. Asian of David Harbour from stranger. Things I love it. It's so endearing and it's so funny like you run into this DJ and he wants new music so you go into a record shop when you buy a bunch of music and you bring to this party and it gets the party thump in and then you get some money that you know. Natasha Romanoff gets the origin story she deserves in Black Widow trailer

"This time will move who move back to the Marvel Marvel universe because so many things happened in the marvel universe. You know it's just constant news coming out of there and this is that there is a first trailer for black widow. The Solo Film. I saw on facebook today. One of my friends posted a reference to this and I think his comment was about damn time so at least one person who is excited for this. Let's see so Natasha. Romanoff off black widow is getting her own. Solo movie. Black widow is set after the events of captain. America's civil war just to put it in the timeline for for marvel movies stories etc.. It's a time when all where all the vendors had to do some self reflection on what being a superhero really meant meant and one that put a Natasha Romanoff into a crisis of self reflection as Scarlett Johansson explained in an interview with Vanity Fair. Are we just wrapped black widow like two weeks ago or something like that. So it's very fresh in my mind and I don't have the total perspective on it yet. It's a film film about self forgiveness and it's a film about family. I think in life we sort of come of age many times. And you have these kind of moments where you're in a transitional phase and then you move sort of beyond it and I think in the black widow standalone film. I think the character is at when we find her a moment of real crisis and throughout the film by facing herself a lot of ways and a lot of things that make her her she actually kind of comes through that crisis on the other side and we start to be able to reset set where she's a more grounded self possessed person so that's her journey. Well I hope anyway again. That was a quote from a Scarlett Johansson in an interview with Vanity Fair hints of that journey are seen in the trailer on Natasha Tells Yelena below who is played by Flori- pugh. We have unfinished business. We have to go back to where it all started and for black widow part of going back to back as putting together a team that not only consists of Yelena but Melina Astakhov played by Rachel Vice and Alexei Shostakovich Known as the Red Guardian David played by David Harbored Harbor. Excuse me and the trailer also gives us our first look at the film's Big Bad than Torius taskmaster and So there is that first glimpse an black widow will be opening. May I twenty twenty so you do have a few more months to wait although twenty twenty is right around the corner. It's crazy. How fast this year went by just moosh? I'm pretty sure that New Year's was like a week ago. Last New Year's it just feels like it was crazy fast. Are you excited for the new. Black widow. STANDALONE on film. Are you intrigued to find out. What Natasha's journey is going to look like and how this team is going to interact And where this is going to take black widow in her character arc. Although you're kind of backtracking in time which can be a you know you gotta got to keep it all straight in your head. So hopefully you're you're better at that at that than I am. I said before I definitely need a marvel universe for dummies thing. We need a very detailed synopsis of everything to Keep It all straight

Do Boomers and Gen-Xers Really Work Harder Than Millennials?

"It's baritone date, Thurston host of spit. I heart radio newest podcast, twenty three and me where we explore how understanding your DNA changes, how we think about ourselves and the world around us. We've got the why cleft John. We have so much more in common than you could even imagine you put two kids together. They're going to want to play. They're gonna wanna have a good time. They gonna wanna fall in. Love have opinions. This is every kid listen to the full episode of spit with twenty three and me in the iheartradio app four wherever you listen to podcasts. Welcome to brain stuff from how stuff works. Hey, brain stuff, learned vocal bomb here. Thanks to popular books like generation me and a rash of kids these days cover stories and major magazines. It's easy to believe that millennials usually defined as people born between nineteen Eighty-one in nineteen. Ninety nine are wildly different than their coworkers from generation x. born between nineteen sixty five and nineteen eighty and the baby boomer generation that's nineteen forty six to nine hundred sixty four employers have so much faith in the millennial mythology that they've changed the way they recruit hire, train and develop employees, teams of well, paid consultants have convinced CEOs that millennials represent an entirely new species of worker that's less focused, less loyal and far less willing to work hard than preceding generations. But is it really true. When researchers have gone digging for hard data backup, the negative stereotypes of millennial workers, they've repeatedly come up empty. The real explanation for the perceived differences between the work ethic and commitment of millennials versus Xers versus boomers has much less to do with the year that they were born versus the age on their driver's license. If you're thinking, isn't that the same thing? Well, not exactly. We spoke with David Costanza associate professor of psychology and organizational sciences at George Washington University, who co authored an influential study on generational differences? In two thousand fifteen. He explains that generational assignments. Like boomer or millennial are somewhat arbitrary, but age is a strong predictor of work experience and more experienced tenured workers tend to have a stronger work ethic and more corporate loyalty than younger workers. In other words, being a boomer is a weaker predictor of work ethic than simply being sixty five Costanza said, if you look back twenty forty or sixty years, the. Same pattern of differences shows up again. And again, the youngest generation is always the least dedicated the least satisfied and the most mobile twenty years ago that was generation x forty years ago. It was the boomers. Now, it's the millennials. For example, an article published in the American sociological review in nineteen sixty one bemoaned the decaying system of values apparent in people's work ethic. The argument went that the so called Protestant work ethic. The belief in the importance of hard work and a disapproval of too much leisure. Time and activities was responsible for the economic success of Europe and the United States. But apparently there was widespread consensus that the younger generation of midwestern farmers were straying from the rugged self reliance of their fathers and quote, finding meaning in strength through constant associations with others rather than themselves. They were also quote, shameless consumers. Just imagine if those farmers that had Facebook and Amazon prime, a new study from Wayne State university backs up Costanza 's conclusion. That age is a much better predictor of work attitudes than being a millennial or boomer. The researchers performed an in-depth meta analysis of Seventy-seven work ethic studies published between nineteen sixty and twenty fifteen, and they found absolutely no empirical difference between the responses of say eighteen to twenty two year old college students in nineteen sixty eight versus two thousand eight regarding the Protestant work ethic. The real change happens as these young punks get older and more experienced. The authors suggest that when the current group of millennials aged forty years, they'll think the new kids are lazy to the most important takeaway from this research is at the popular public perception of lazy millennials is not only inaccurate. It's also bad for business. Costanza said it leads to these sweeping generalizations that can prompt organizations to make these really poor decisions and to invest in training development or compensation systems that don't do any good. If managers are telling the CEO that younger employees don't seem to be engaged in committed to their work. That's definitely a problem, but it's not a millennial problem. Costanza equates the millennial myth with these stereotypes that employers had about women workers, half a century ago that there was no point promoting a woman to a management position because she eventually get married, have kids and leave or the painful racial and ethnic stereotypes. Historically faced by minority workers. Costanza said if workers aren't committed or they're not satisfied, or they're not sticking around find out why that is an address. It don't rely on these myths and stereotypes.
