"Back in the super modified for a few starts this year that is pretty exciting at least for me as a supermodel fight fan but anyway back to the another one of my favorite over will type of cars the **** along with another one which is the micro is we're gonna bring Jacobs field without first so we're gonna try this one more time Jacob hello you are back on the air are you there I am okay so we go they know Jacobs so not sure what that is going on here but we do have is a good idea we thought we would give it one more shot because we're stubborn around here but to get it will we'll figure out what we needed to do for next time so we will continue with eighteen and you were just about to tell the story and it will I will I want you to to be concise with this but I want you to give us enough detail to to to give us kind of the the real skinny on how does one go for micros two **** and actually have somebody willing to get out of their car to put you in it all you know that was that was amazing but it all started when I was in my crisper I think it's my first year in micros and die we I got to meet Brad McDaniel which he's been my my crew chief is that is that he's a great guy and he knows a lot of guys out there in the micro world so I over time I've gotten to meet great people such as Daniel robin then I got introduced to him that southern Illinois race way and when I first met him on my go to resist yeah you know it was I don't know really what is then as over time as I got to race with him every weekend it was I got to know that he was such a great guy and Daniels a very caring guy and you know his personality he you know it's it's so great for all these upcoming drivers to see how great of a guy he is and I was lucky enough to meet him brat and that was the best thing that ever happened to me and it went on you know we were you got to know my family and we're all best friends Daniel you know he's a great high funny guy and you know that led into you know we would race competitively against each other a lot and then I slowly got to know him over three years then we became like I said really good friends and we did that and we we were eight now she won't even know where I'm going with this you know we were we were talking a lot and you know it was last this January he came and Brad give me a call you know I've always liked pages and stuff and he was like yeah you know so what do you think our **** so my god do you think they're awesome you know I love the thing then he's like well how would you feel driving on ice that out do that I would love to drive one I you know that's always I've always watched those things near me and we can feed right out they were amazing and he's like well consider it because your drive and one on my own my gosh you know it was I'm white what do you mean and he's like well Daniel has stepped out of the car for you wow he wants the U. drive and I was so honored that they even say that you know it's even here that was completely amazing you know I was so sure because Daniel was still really goodness for you know you have racing competitively with us then you noticed the ham give me this opportunity and him step out was absolutely mind blowing you know it was that's what I was so happy yeah I was so happy and I had a loss of words for ever and then it was it was still like I had that burst of energy you know I wanted to do everything to rate it now and then coronavirus hit and then we haven't really got much racing going on so it's all really been on them so did you have a chance you didn't have a chance I think though the test the car right if not raise it once or twice yes we did get to race at Southern Illinois indoors and your point Illinois okay and that was my first ever race okay and to make it what was it like the first time you step because I I know the story you said I could just pop Willy's almost on command it felt like that had huge for you coming out of the micro over here you know the micro I was I'm so used to that power you know that six thirty six this is nothing compared to this they were all back in the pit laughing you know they're like Hey it is gonna have a lot of work Armonk should not then I've not felt before you know I'm like let's do it and you know I strapped into that you could just feel the adrenaline going and I didn't even know what to do I was just going to go out there and give it some gas in here where we went and I did just that it is the first time I did it it threw me back and beat out like holy crap this think about a lot more work I thought so well I'm sure you're excited to drive it again tell us tell us what I mean I I understand the corona virus and we're out of the way and all of that but what what was your plan or what is your plan in terms of raising it this season what is your general plan well we got we're going to do all the big money shows in the micro and then when we're not rating those big money shows we're gonna take the **** out and race hello in our city you know close to home and we're gonna get to know it and hopefully even write the chili bowl and the end of this year and there we can do wow that's awesome so you can also be running the micro this season as well you kind of doing the dual street thank yeah you know we organ that we got to my car as the here's the R. one one from a championship in southern Illinois so while we have two cars now so we're gonna have a twin car in an ongoing cars so that's really can open opportunities up for us and then we're gonna try and do those big shows and then there are you know Daniel even offered for me to run it micro it southern Illinois in the indoors but we wanted to test our stuff because that's a brand new car to me you know it was such a cool so cool to get to get that that gets to know that car and we did that and yeah you know maybe already Daniels might grow and make it some time and then you know maybe even give him the opportunity to run my micro that I'm not running into yeah you know just give back to what he's giving me what a great story that's that I love seeing drivers up on other drivers and that's the way I know how hard it can be to get out of the seat and for him to do that to help your career that that says a lot what would you like to do when you're not all things yourself in racing and one win one way or another one of my big thing that I do is I really think that's been my big thing right now and basically and that it's an online simulation where we yeah rates with every anyone across the world you know when we I have my pro licence than that and rates with the best guys in the world you know it it's still fun like David gravel and Tyler Courtney and all those guys you know it's so fun to get the race with them especially Christopher bell you know that somebody I've always looked up user I. driver and now racing on them with them you know it's so cool but yeah we've been doing that and if I'm not Irish thing I'm either working outside or writing for researchers Tom I've always outside I love the outdoors okay got it out during the summer the kids did you have a question or you just I was gonna ask how he enjoyed the coin since that you know we race there once you're on the air how bad is bad how did you write I wiped the corn you know the court the great track it it's definitely hard it's hard to pass and it's it's definitely challenging because I don't get to rate their every weekend as per stay out regular track and it's it's definitely challenging going into it because you only like you say get to go there once a year and you look at that place and it kind of looked at your back you know you it means and it's definitely challenging it's very flat and like I said yeah you know there's a lot of heart racing that goes on in there and it's a lot of moving people and if you're not gonna take it they will they'll really get tired of our to pass an image issue go there in an arc of full body stock car your whole year I bet that would be really hard it's really hard to fast then yeah yeah yeah I I remember Tyler double asked him because he was used to the big block modifieds up north but I grew up watching as well and I said well once it once it was a like to race the stock car around the point in doubles response was it was like running a tank around probably the most accurate description this is just so heavy and you drive yeah but it's it's interesting the the the very quick arc that your career has taken to be just fifteen years old and be able to now be in a of a full digit car what is your what is your goal I mean are you are you wanting to stay on the dirt or are you wanting to eventually make your way over this way and end up in NASCAR like a lot of other guys do well that's something I get asked a lot and it was I've made my decision and I I want to go first my first thought after I've moved out images in Mike or is this gonna be the port and with world outlaw I've always wanted to do that I don't care if it's one race but I want to say I did it you know I just want to raise one of those work and and then after that you know I if I get the offer to come race hate math I will gladly do that because I've watched NASCAR all my life you know my dad to take it to that and I was never really interested in it and then I kind of watched it more and I would love to raise attainment NASCAR anything you know it it would just be amazing to get that opportunity so you're basically open to whatever comes your way but you want you definitely want to make a starter to at least with the outlaws yes we are here that kind of fits the pattern I guess Randy Evans you know we see so many drivers you know kind of take that path they get to the four tens then turn right they said these yeah go over to North Carolina start running late we had many dirt drivers run our cars in the past yeah there you go so you got you know the driver development I got from him Venturini motorsports is our producers so you know he's not listening to everything here you never know maybe I'll end up on a Sunday in a situation to raise a Venturini Arkan Kerr that be pretty cool when it yeah for sure I'd love our cars good answer okay so if you ever if you ever hear of the job look up to her driver in NASCAR that that's a kind of your favorite this this tough question I've I've always looked up to Tony your but if I didn't take him I would hi this is hard for me on the spot like here I'm surprised because I I thought you'd say Chris bell after I asked the question I was like I should bother because he's going to say Chris bell but.

"Or something like that. That's a nice nice little short track you can. The driver comes out a little bit more than maybe at a superspeedway or a mile and a half track though schools. David get behind the wheel. Maybe not one last time but another other time this year. It's like it's like you know nothing ever changed. She's behind the wheel of a car at home and he's going to be behind the wheel on twenty twenty starts as well as on. He's asked him successor. restrictor plate tracks. We know that even though they don't really run our sector but anymore you know what I'm saying he's wanted basically or he's one of the day before so I think you can't really count him out. I mean you can't really count anybody out when you go to those two tracks. But just 'cause David Reagan's a little bit on the older side which isn't really true because he's in his thirties. I think he'll be. I'm somebody to watch US speed. We kind of get rolling. Yes so the interesting thing about that is. It's a rick ware racing car. This can be prepared by front row motorsports who gets credit for the win if he wins. Yeah that's it. You get the checkered flag checkered flag you just the trophy you get the trophy you get the money you get the money. If if it's all about that and I think David Ragan he knows what's on the line is not a point. It's not gonNA be raising points. It's not gonNA be racing to make friends. It's going to be racing for the win and when you have drivers out there that don't have anything on the line other than and bring him back the trophy. That's dangerous. So that's why I think he might be somebody to keep your eye on. How wild would it be? What a what MIC DRP moment would it be if he just punts chase Elliott on the final APP for the five hundred? JP He'd probably go from one of the most universally likes guys one of the most universally hated guys in that one but that'd that'd be something just an instant changing of how we feel about him. No doubt one third of the wheel and everybody ate them. That'd be wild So we also saw Another interesting truck series development. This off season David gravel will be going from dirt racing which he'll still do some of that this year but he's doing okay part time truck series schedule with GM racing That's kind of interesting and I do not pretend to know anything about the raising of dirt race in my life and that was evolution last year during speed week and I was. I made a rookie mistake of not bringing glasses. Some people were like. Oh bring your face but I'm saying okay You know whatever and then I get there. I'm getting absolutely pelted with dirt. And I think I'm still picking it out of my sinuses. I digress plot. Or they're trying to say is. I think it's really cool. When drivers drivers from other disciplines just in general come over to other forms of motorsport whether that's IMSA NASCAR NASCAR INDYCAR mccarter Nascar Formula One for Indycar? It doesn't matter and I think that Nath car and dirt racing in general have floors a unique bond in the past half decade. or so. And I think Tony Stewart Kyle Larson Christopher Bell You know there's other drivers as well chase Briscoe. M. R. N.. NBC doing well stuff. Endure the racing. He's going to be competing at the Chili Bowl as well. Rico abor. There's a ton of names on. Its own of crossover with dirt racing and you you would not have. I've been able to say that you know. I don't know six seven eight years ago. Maybe a little bit longer than that. Because that's just wasn't the case but now it seems normal. Drivers compete compete on dirt on asphalt. NASCAR whether it's truck Xfinity Cup or even down in Arca West Africa East or national. So I think it's super cool that they have a gravel doing on some good equipment when he does it as well. 'CAUSE GM says no slouch at all definitely heavy bringing great sponsorship as well Alta and. I'll have a partnership with Jeff Gordon as well. So a lot of that bodes pretty well for David. Grou- going forward I guys I got a guy got it break up the love fest here. you guys will be back toby and Davey in mere moments.

"Mid January of twenty twenty hope your new years off to a good start my what a wild crazy weather weekend we had yeah we're going to start off the new week continuing with a series of storms well looking out west we're we're looking at widespread winter weather advisories in winter storm warnings stretching from Washington down into northern California northern portions of Nevada winter storm warnings in parts of central and southern Idaho northern Idaho northwestern Montana it wide spread to winter weather advisories encompassing the areas in between the winter storm warnings it's the higher elevations where they're going to be talking about the heaviest snow fall but it has through much of last week starting early in the week forecasters had been predicting what would potentially be a very widespread severe weather outbreak late in the week into the weekend especially in the Deep South and boy did that ever come to fruition valp thousands still without power Sunday after the storms ravage the southeast in the Midwest deadly storms eleven fatale woody's cars overturned trees uprooted buildings reduced to rubble National Weather Service says it was a tornado packing winds of at least a hundred thirty four miles per hour that hit Alabama's Pickens county Saturday killing three people there Alabama's governor praising the first responders Sunday expressing grief over the loss of life there well she says this morning I've reached out to both county leadership as well as the legislative delegation to offer my deepest condolences terrible in northwestern Luciana three deaths blamed on high winds there a man in his bed in oil city Louisiana crushed by a tree that fell one is hold a couple in nor nor nearby Bowsher perish killed when the storm demolished their mobile home National Weather Service said to a tornado with one hundred thirty five miles per hour hit that area icy roads were blamed for Saturday deaths in Lubbock Texas where two for first responders were killed when they were hit by a vehicle at the scene of a traffic accident and in Iowa a semi trailer on I. eighty overturned killing the passenger there in Oklahoma a man drowned after he was swept away by floodwaters according to the state patrol there high winds icy weather factors in power outages affecting tens of thousands of people stretching from the south all the way up into the northeast yeah there were more than forty thousand outages in New York state alone twenty eight thousand without power in the Carolinas still as of Sunday morning enter G. corporation said their subsidiaries serving in Arkansas Louisiana Texas and Mississippi had roughly nineteen thousand without power Sunday morning most of that should have been restored by now L. summit parts of Arkansas in Mississippi where there was extensive damage they tell us might take a little bit longer there's some some extensive infrastructure damage in those two particular states so some folks in the dark tonight right on the heels of our big weekend storm our next what will ultimately be a coast to coast storm is gonna bring more snow to the lower elevations in the Pacific Northwest before then spreading snow ice and rain through the central and eastern portions of the country FOR a midweek the late this week not only Monday but as we look toward Wednesday the jet stream energy for this next storm enters the Pacific Northwest read more snow to Seattle and Portland from their system moves through the plains the Midwest and then all the way over to the east Thursday through Saturday now since the storm still several days away it's uncertain exactly what the impacts are going to be for the Midwest and the east but there will be enough cold air in place to the north and the east of the track of the store to pick up some significant snow and the war I use now this is kind of the prognostication at this point looking toward midweek light snow over the lower elevations of the project Pacific Northwest early this week before the storm arrives more Shindo could then move into Seattle and Portland Oregon Wednesday into Thursday as the area of low pressure moves into the cold air that's already in place there now this storm is going to spread civil significant snow into California's Sierra Nevada as well as the northern and central Rockies Thursday at the Thursday night the snow with ice could also begin to develop Thursday night from the northern and central plains to the upper Mississippi valley looking toward late this week the potential for snow ice and rain will primarily be the Midwest as we head toward the end of the work week snow ice and gusty winds again may impact a broad area of the upper Midwest the Great Lakes and again the Ohio valley to world to know exactly where that dividing lines going to be between you have the snow the ice or just plain old regime some of that precip could also arrive in the mid Atlantic by Friday than other parts of the northeast Friday night so another coast to coast storm system that's what's prompted the widespread advisories out west well in advance of that storm's arrival now the storm ravaged southern portions of the country where technically Sunday they started to get out clean up operations yeah mother nature is not going to be doing things doing any favors for those trying to get out and clear because we're gonna be talking pretty much daily rounds of showers and potentially thunderstorms into the middle of this week now we're not expecting storms to have the ferocity that we saw over the weekend the first severe weather outbreak of twenty twenty yeah Friday into Saturday night however any wet weather across the south is going to slow down the cleanup and recovery efforts further strain on those who were left homeless by the storms it's a it's a rather pro long to kind of unsettled weather pattern it's going to set up this week is as a front just kind of stalls across the region and that's going to serve as the pope focal point for more widespread showers and thunderstorms the shower re whether lingered along the southeast coast on Sunday before I begin spreading northward over the south as we progress through the date Monday so today communities from Houston to Jackson Mississippi on over to Berlin had a Birmingham Alabama Atlanta even Raleigh North Carolina may have some showers or thunderstorms as we start the new week that stormy weather may lift away from the Gulf coast for a time on Tuesday and on into Wednesday yeah bring it rains further north to places like little rock Arkansas over toward Nashville a few with these embedded thunderstorms could be heavy some gusty winds will be the main threat but of course since the ground is already saturated after the incredible weekend storms yeah even a moderate wind gusts forty fifty miles per hour within the storms could be enough to bring down some of the shallow rooted trees and local flooding may become a problem areas that were soaked by thunderstorms Friday into Saturday that were you may experience up one or more rounds of additional stormy weather from now into the middle of the week so small streams and creeks may be taken on another surge of water especially where these rounds of showers and thunderstorms kind of repeat on a daily basis Monday Tuesday and Wednesday but there's additional rains gonna put some cities over the top in terms of average rainfall for the month of January yeah Birmingham was less than a tenth of an inch shy of their January rainfall of four point eight four inches as of this past day looks like little rock in Jackson have already surpassed their monthly averages three and a half inches for little rock nearly five inches for Jackson but that that's in just the first eleven days of January got a lot of January yet to go so that gives you an idea just how soggy things have been in the southeast one other concern you might have that for your rolling in the southeast as we head into the new week is we've got dense fog advisories stretching from southeastern Louisiana including the New Orleans area across southern Mississippi now you've got southern Alabama southern Georgia the coastal areas of South Carolina in up to the coastal areas of North Carolina across the board even all the way up into eastern Virginia a lot of dense fog advisory is in place that'll be slowing things down tonight travelers whether a service of our friends at travel centers of America T. a truck service more babies more expertise and more solutions so under way get the brand new week started here thirteenth day of January our numbers eight eight eight eight six zero eighty seven eighty five let's see what's happening in the world of racing with "MM The suspense hotline. Okay so obviously. Jeff Gordon is part owner of this forty eighteen. Right I mean he's he's that's he brought. Jimmy no yeah. So how much influences Jeff have in. Who drives his car going forward? I'm going to start this. Then I'll pass Jacob. I my opinion union is that I think Jeff love some say I think ally will obviously have a a great deal of because it's going to be there driver but I I think the biggest thing is it's gotTa Pass. Mr H is character and personality tests. Because there's a very certain type of driver and type of person that he likes so I think ultimately it's going to be Rick's call so everybody should be adding to the Christmas card list if you're yeah if you're you're if he plans on and no for the guy on social media earlier David Gravel trucks to cup in in a year. That's what I missile Ingram too. But I mean that makes sense. He was Jacob. What's your two cents? Well my two cents. Is that Jeff Gordon. I believe how far Baker in Louis Von who drives that car. Then you think and no. It's not going to be David forever going from promise you that as well lost three chance dance. I firmly believe that Jeff you as we talked about. Jeff is a a half owner in that team him. And you know he's going to be one of the representatives of that team. You know continuing going forward and you know his wishes for who drives that car and who represents represents you know ineffective his team along with Rick is is going to be important here and I I you know. I wish there's a part of me that wishes I had. I've been able to be in two places at once. The half he could have been on the East Coast at the press conference and the other half good been out here in in California You know we don't need to you. Take him well. I was just kind of in my head. I'm thinking which half does California but never mind going anyway. Because they were Joe in the whole time how canal and And Jeff were in the front row and Winston Kelly said actually joked with Jeff. Jeff twice I think about You know we. We had a microphone and you turned it down so I I you know if if I had been there I would not have actually hesitated to kind of call. Jeff out of the crowd and see if we couldn't have gotten an answer to that question of how much they will he ultimately have in in the future about forty eighteen. Because I really I do honestly believe it's going to answer. That question is going to be quite a bit. Well Yeah I would. I would say quite a bit but ultimately you got to please the boss and the boss's still Rick Hendrick and I do believe that Jeffs Jeff's what he looks for the driver and what Rick would look for in a driver would be the same because Jeff was what rick look toward the driver. Obviously so I think there you can look at Bowman you can look at Byron. You can look at who they are and how they are and I just don't think you're straying that far from the mark and even though I think for example Ross chastain is somewhat more aggressive obviously on the track I don't see Ross is being that much different from personality stem point joint than those other. Two I think Ross does use an interesting thought when you were his name. That pot isn't he. He an interesting Potential candidate for a ride like that. He's in he's not in the right half of Chevrolet family as it fits. But but as we've seen in the past if what recovering wants Rick Hendrick Yeah. Well here's the thing and I'm GonNa let James Chime in here if if Jeff Kurt Busch signed a multi year deal as far as I know and that messed up Ross's situation a little bit if Roscoe's out and runs well around for Jeb Egypt and if rick wants him I don't see chip saying no because you know you've got to let the guy go and get his opportunity now. Well I just want I just want to get all these numbers are facts right here. First before I go all the way out through this thought ally is a business that helps rick with finance stuff with his automobile stuff. Right uh-huh uh-huh damn okay so he bought GMAC. Okay so I I was GONNA say okay. That's what I thought they were. Don't throw Suarez out of this either because if you bring Suarez and now you have a way to bring in the the guy with airs trying to help his finances manses as well so you can do to be so. Don't forget you can try to bring in swore as Dooby Doo. It'd be the first ever the Honda Signs Honda Decides to go to couple boy. Yeah yeah well I mean I'm just saying here's here's my thought on that I would love to think Daniel could be in the mix but I don't think his performance has led him to be in that situation and I don't know I mean if rick wanted to expand his marketing potential chill than maybe but I don't think he looks at things the way some other owners do Song that sure I see swore as being a candidate I do see Suarez going to the thirty two next year. And that's going to be interesting and you know again that's stored Ha's technical alliance car now and it's a way of keeping them in the family after custer up dropped him in the forty one but yeah I I could definitely see you know and I love to you. Think coriolis joy but I again I I mean knowing how rick is develop the other two teams as Gordon. Junior went out. Who is pulled from you? Pull from within. I unless you see a guy like chastain out there that you just think is the next big thing and you get a chance to grab him before he gets sign. Well he brought bowman up Bowman wrote Drove that seven car. Tommy and he brought him up from just Tommy's car well no. He brought them up from juniors carpet. Remember Bowman filled in for junior. And that's what really what he was. Also the SIM Dryer Cima Tester test driver for for for Chevy so. There was a lot more in Alex at a lot more starts than people realized. I just don't think swears done enough to warrant Rick Hendrick choosing to put him in his car. As much as I liked. Daniel Jacob Agree we disagree. I just don't know what to do with the the the Daniel Situation Right now. Quite frankly on there's too many there's too many things out there in too many things I've heard and not enough time not enough. That looked like it could even be close to concrete. I've heard I've heard Suarez. I heard that smart as could go to our DR affinity. I've heard I've Bernard that Morris did go to front row I mean I there. There's a lot of different rumors out there and nothing that seems to be sticking to the dartboard yet in Speaking speaking of Are Cr if I can just totally go off on a candidate you can. We were going to get there eventually. So gotTA gotTa start the conversation. How thoughtful I pick it up back? I am going to art for for for those in our audience liens. Who Don't know who is? It's my snyder who most recently popped up. Driving for was driving for sport in the truck series now goes to the xfinity series. And it's it's a part time deal. It is not a full-time deal unless you know something. I don't Jacob I. I was told it was a part-time deal So we didn't have a part time job but that Richard Stead at homestead. Last weekend I was down there for the champions press conference and Richard Fed that they were going to run one fulltime car for sewer and a second car parked on so then you you look. Yeah you say okay. If he's part time he probably goes to the twenty one the two would be. I mean you can. You can play with numbers. If you want doesn't really matter but as avid at the moment you would assume that would be the fulltime car and Suarez would obviously have the money to go and run for a championship there. But I gotta be honest. I think it's that's a NASCAR's best interest to have him in the Cup series. Not for him to Drop Back Down and you've got the thirty two you've got front row. They could really use a driver lakes whereas is at this point so I could definitely see but the question then becomes who becomes the full time driver in the two-car the following is what I would. I would love to see cavs but again. How much money are you going to need to secure that? I think the huskers would want to think thing hot. Scream can only do so much at this point still growing I would love nothing more than to seek. have if the opportunity but as you know as you both correctly directly mentioned I really don't know how much unless unless there's been a breakthrough that I don't know about I really don't know how much has brings to the table in terms of funding. They're working on some things. They're working on some things and I think that I think that You could definitely. There could be some things that could develop develop for him. That can put them in that situation. But I don't think hot scream is to the point as a company at where they could they could put that kind of money up unless there. There were a number of other sponsors involved. They could be a part of it but they can't be all of it so going to be interesting because I do think has deserves a fulltime shot. He he certainly has proven. He can run the car to the front when he has the opportunity so that cars are very desirable car. So you know. Could we see a truck series racers step up that we haven't seen yet. You know there are a few folks in the truck series right now that I know have some interesting things going on that. We may see some announcements about you know going into the next few weeks but I don't know if any of them involve a step up and certainly don't know if it would be to that car so Interesting stuff though but Suarez. I definitely could see either with with The thirty two team or front row and it does look like John Hundred Nemechek. At least I think there's a mutual interest to have him fulltime assignments front row car. But again I'm sure dollars and cents are going to be involved and I was hoping for that for John. Hunter's stay calm extremely extremely well in that front row without a doubt when you're the highest running front row car and you're beating guys who've been in the cup series pretend tenants yeah. Well years respectively McDowell and Reagan. You're you're doing something good for your First Cup start so I hope for that for John. Hunter I WANNA make my. I know you're getting close on Pine here two months. I I want to circle back if I can permit to appoint on Jimmy Johnson with last.

"It's going to be there driver but I think the biggest thing is it's gotTa Pass Mr Ages character personality tests because there's a very certain type of driver and type of person that he likes so I think ultimately ultimately it's going to be Rick's call so everybody should be adding Jeff Gordon to the Christmas card list. Is that if you're if you're new plants and no for the guys on social media earlier. David Gravel is not getting from trucks to cup in in a year that's missile Ankara. To make sense. He was taste Jacob. What's your two cents? Well my two cents. Is that Jeff Gordon. I believe we'll have a far bigger influence on. Who drives that car? Then you think and no. It's not going to be David. We're going to promise you that as well but mind blown earlier I firmly. They believe that Jeff as we talked about Jeff is a eight half owner in that team. And you know he's going to be one of the representatives initiatives that team you know continuing going forward and his you know his wishes for who drives that car and who represents you know ineffective his team along with Rick. Nick is is going to be important here and I you know. I wish there's part of me that wishes I had been able to be in two places at once. The half he could have been on the East Coast at the press conference and the other half could have been out here in in California You know getting ready to well. I was just in my head Adam thinking which is California but never mind keep going. I would have been interesting because they were joking. The whole apart how I could out and and Jeff were in the front row in Winston Kelly that actually joked with jeff twice. I think about You know we we had a microphone. Microphone and you turned it down so I you know if if I had been there I would not have actually hesitated to Kind of call Jeff out of the the crowd and see if we could have gotten an answer to that question of of how much they will he ultimately have in the future of that forty eighteen. Because I really I do honestly believe it's going to answer. That question is going to be quite a bit. Yeah I would say quite a bit but ultimately you gotta please the boss and the boss's still Rick Hendrick and I do believe that Jeffs Jeff's What he looks for an driver Rick would look for in a driver would be the same because Jeff was what rick look toward the driver? Obviously so I think there you can look at Bowman you can look at Byron. You can look at who they are and how they are and I just don't think you're straying that far from the mark and even though I think for example a Ross chastain is somewhat more aggressive obviously Veasley on the track. I don't see Ross is being that much different from a personality standpoint than you know those other two I think Ross does interesting. Thought when when you throw his name that pot is isn't he interesting Potential candidate for arrived like that. He's not in the right half of Chevrolet family as it fits. But as we've seen in the past if what Rick Hendrick Trek want Rick Hendrick get well. Here's the thing and then I'm GonNa let James Chime in here if if you know. Kurt Busch signed a multi year deal as far as I know. Oh and that messed up. Ross's situation there will bid if Roscoe's out and runs well run for Jeb Egypt. And if she wants him. I don't see chipped chipped saying no because you know you've got to let the guy go and get his opportunity now. I just want to get all. These numbers are facts right here. First just before I go all the way out through this thought here allies a business that helps rick with finance stuff with his automobile stuff right. It's kind of like okay. So he bought art. GMAC okay so okay. That's what I thought they were. Don't throw wore out of this either because if you bring warez whereas in now you have a way to bring in the the guy with heiress. You're trying to help his finances. Well so you can do to beat a deal. So don't forget you can trying to bring in Suarez Zora's it'd be the first ever. The Honda signs hunted and says the go cup. Oh boy I mean I'm saying here's my view is my thought I I would love to think Daniel could be in the mix but I don't think his performance has led him to be in that situation and I don't know I mean if rick wanted to expand his marketing potential than maybe but I I don't think he looks at things the way some other owners do on that sure I see Suarez's being a candidate I do see Suarez thirty two next year. And that's going to be interesting and again that's stored Ha's technical alliance car now and it's a way of keeping them in the family after he brought custer up dropped him the forty one but yeah I I could definitely see and I love to think coral joy but again I I mean knowing how rick is developed. The other two teams as Gordon Junior. When out who is pulled from you pull from within I unless you see a guy like chastain staying out there that you think is the next big thing and you get a chance to grab him before he gets signed when he brought Bowman up? Bowman drove that seven car for Tommy and he brought him up from just Tommy's car no. He brought him up from juniors carpet. Remember Bowman filled in for junior. And that's what really got him then he was also the Sim Dryer Assim Tester test driver for for for Chevrolet so there was a lot more Alex at a lot. More Cup starts than people realized. I just don't think Suarez done enough to warrant retender choosing to put him in his car. As much as I liked. Daniel Jacob agree disagree. I just don't know what to do with the Daniel Situation Right now. Quite frankly There's too many. There's too many things out there in too many things I've ordered and not enough time not enough. That looked like it could even be close to concrete us. I've heard Suarez. I've heard that Moore Maar as could go to our Dr Sanity. I've heard that I've heard that Varas could go to front row. I mean there. There's a lot of different rumors out there and nothing. That seems to be sticking to the dartboard yet we're term Speaking speaking now are CR sanity if I can just totally go off on a tangent you can we. We're GONNA get there eventually so then I'll start the conversation. How awful I pick it up at going to art for for for those in our audience? Who Don't know who sauce boy is? It's my snyder. Lider who most recently popped up driving for our was driving in the truck series now goes to the expediency series. And it's it's a part time deal is not a fulltime deal. Unless you know something I don't Jacob. I was told it was a part-time deal so we didn't. It is a part time deal but Richard Stead at homestead. Last weekend. I was down there for the champions press conference and Richard Fed that they. We're going to run one full time car pursuer and a second car part time so then you look at it. You say okay. If he's part time he probably goes to the twenty-one the two would be I mean you can. You can play with numbers. If you want doesn't really matter but as a as of the moment you would assume the two would be the full-time car and Suarez would obviously have the money to go and run for a championship there. But I I gotta be honest. I think it's NASCAR's best interest to have him in the Cup series not out for him to drop back down and you've got the thirty two you've got front row. They could really use a driver lakes whereas at this point so I could definitely see the question then becomes who becomes the full time driver in the two car. Gods what I would I would love to see cast. It's been again. How much money are you going to need to bring the secure that route the screens would one? And they're hot. Scream can only do so much at this point. Yeah I would love nothing more than to seek has if the opportunity but as long as you both correctly mentioned I really don't know how much unless unless unless there's been a breakthrough that I don't know about I really don't know how much has brings to the table in terms of funding. They're working on some things they're working on on some things and I think that You could definitely. There could be some things that could develop for him. That could put him in that situation. But I don't think hot scream. mm-hmm is to the point as a company yet where they could. They could put that kind of money unless there were a number of other sponsors involved they can be a part of it but they can't be all of it so Going to be interesting because I do think has deserves a fulltime shot. He certainly has proven. He can run the car to the front when when he has the opportunity so that cars are very desirable car. So could we see a truck series racer step up that we haven't seen yet. You know there are a few folks truck series right now that I know have some interesting things going on that. We may see some announcements about you know going into the next few weeks but I don't know if any of them involve a step up and certainly don't know if it would be to that car so interesting interesting stuff though but Suarez. I definitely could see either with with The thirty two team or front row and it it does look like John Hundred Nemechek. At least I think there's a mutual interest to have him full time in the front row carpet again. I'm sure dollars and cents are going to be involved and I was hoping for that for John. Hunter's Day come into showed extremely well in that front car without the Dow when you're the highest running front row car and you're beating guys who've been in the cup series pretend well years respectively McDowell and Reagan. You're you're doing something good for your first three cup start. I hope for that for John. Hunter I WANNA make I I. I know you're getting close on time here. Two months I I I want to circle back if I can permit to a point on Jimmy Johnson. That just sitting with last COUPLA hours We're about to the a retirement tour. I believe the likes of which we have not seen since nineteen ninety two really left after the sport. I truly believe that what you're going to see from tracks from industry members from fans the response. You'RE GONNA GET I. I Jimmy kind of alluded to it at one point during the press conference today but I don't even think he truly realizes the magnitude of what I believe is about to happen. I I don't care whether you've never been a fan. Always been a fan when a seven time. Champion is getting ready to hang up his helmet and going through his last season. Even there's an immense amount of respect that comes with that and I believe regardless of weather people like Jimmy before now. You're going to see that respect paid were this year at. You're going to see a very very big response all year across the board. I think particularly from the tracks because his Jimmy has done so much within the industry and really behind the scenes that I don't think people realize before they started talking about some of the extra charity work and everything that he does with his foundation. I I really believe that the the kind of response he's about to get is going to be you know not not what we seen You know unless you go back to pettis retirement to her because that was a year long tour to wow see. I wouldn't think junior I even bigger in junior. Wow that's interesting. I what will ponder that as.

Jeff Gordon is part owner of this forty eighteen. Right I mean he's he's young. That's he brought me what we know. Yeah so how much influence this this jeff have in. Who drives the car going forward? You have to spend your hard earned money to go to let's track and watch it firsthand at these local tracks and they're doing wounded all over the place. Ransom Ville that eventually was rained. Out and forced the race to be postponed until October so grandma got the. Win but, brats, we came, home second and also had, a chance to catch up with Brad sweet after the. Race on. Friday night Right now you would have. Preferred the w tonight but the fans. Here at the ranch fields feeling certainly got show between you and David going back and forth there for the wind, very entertaining rates tonight yeah that was good I'm glad to fans enjoyed it and you know we were. Close I can't, complain too much for runnin second but yeah, car's been fast we. Got a lot of good races coming. Up and tonight we. Just over a little bit short didn't need that caution. On lap eighteen it would've been nice to kind of stay in lapped traffic there and see. If we couldn't have got around day but he did a nice? Job kind of getting through a. Couple of those ones that we struggled with. And you know they got the win tonight and we got we, come home, second so we'll move onto the, next one the weather here tonight very different from when you, guys were here in October. David said it didn't matter thought the track conditions are similar when you guys relaxed like Tober would you agree with that or did you think it was different I would say there are similar. I wouldn't say they were, exactly the same I think tonight was a little bit slower data little less grip you know just because the warmer conditions some Yeah but I mean it did raise similar so very fast race track, for the shape and. The, size of it. It doesn't look like it's going. To be that, fast but he. Actually run really fast around here now that, you've been, on this track. Cool In Neil most most of grow up and you know, they don't grow up starting now from. NASCAR so, they got, grassroots down and you know where their kids. Their race tracks, a lot of, times so they you know there are certain cars they grew up watching they really. Liked and you know The I love a, race never goes away Your regional cars were you know you pay attention to. The kids that come, up around that That type of rations Craig course said Kyle Larson you know he got the win, there on a Tuesday night up there, at learner, Ville is when, those guys come to town whether. It's Kyle or KC, or even you know I tell Tony, Stewart runs with the all stars but when he time-to-time if he ever, runs with the outlaws are, those guys, do those those guys when they're running with you guys they try and act like you know one of the boys, in or or is, there kind of in or around those guys when you're competing against them I think there's an or around more fan wise compete against them you guys have been running for a long time And most of us know the other pretty. Well around there so as far as it were Drivers give him now they're just one. Of the guys but you know They're good he's unbelievable, know he's great Great race, car you know. Great driver it's unbelievable watch and rice sometimes something else. Along with along with. All of them they're all They run numerous times all over the place and, you, know. They they're, pretty pretty, good I. Mean they, didn't get through. The top level of the massacre have have it any. Talent right Different therapy while if there's one series though that is done a, great job of, making, its, own, stars the world, of outlaws I. Mean led, by people like your dad Steve Kinser and even today making stars out, of guys like you and Donny shots and you know Brad sweet David gravel all, these these top names I mean I think the will of, laws when it. Comes to. Short-track trek racing one of the best of be able to create, its own stars and. It's it's, it's like a cult following almost in parts of the country sprint car racing it's crazy Yeah it's it's fortunate, I think racing brings it up but you know the region it's so popular is, because we got some great fans racecar fans are or something, special to begin. With but Fans they, are Man they, love respect, cars, dirt track. Racing dedicated Some, nights you're getting sprayed, with mud rocks you, know no, telling, what's Hard. To see now. That. "I have to choose one of their i'll tell you i'll take the high temperatures instead of the right yeah in fortunately that they've had some rough luck the last couple of seasons their utica rome with the weather but looks like you'll get the show in tonight unfortunately we're bringing on like here with with some sad news a i briefly mentioned at the end of the show last week the passing of jason johnson on the world of outlaw race in wisconsin last weekend but mike you know a lot much more about spring currying than i do and just just tell us about jason and in the raging cajun and just where his part of the sport of sprint car racing because he was a very popular driver and he scored a very popular one at the knoxville nationals a couple years ago jason was in a real competitor when you look at the respect that he got them all the other drivers he was great friends with you know mostly competed with and that's just because he was a great guy he tried to raise everybody's away they would race or the right way you could say that i talked about it rows weekend when it happened i was at the knoxville nationals that he won and it was probably one of the greatest knoxville nationals i've i've been able to go to and i've been there last twelve years and it was beat best raised by far the race between him and donny and and they got you know doing some side jobs back and forth back and forth back and forth and jason a couple of times you know took the nose off for donnie afterwards you know inside you know donnie was upset with and i don't want set up so let me know i respect him and i want him to you not respect me but at the end of the day today you know it's the knoxville nationals i can't use the word on the radio you know he was just a hard nosed competitor great guy he was well respected in there that's why loss you know you see so many people you know morning has launched an upset by attaching because he simply he was a great guy and you don't expect it you know all of us that follow motorsports racing we all know that that's part of the sport but when it all comes down to it you never expected to be you know a guy like jason johnson he's one of the good guys as you said it's a dangerous sport there's no way to make it a hundred percent safe mike you know with the and dale earnhardt and nascar of course that led to the hans device becoming in vogue and becoming mandatory for a lot of drivers the head neck restraints i know when when tony stewart broke his leg in a sprint car he talked about trying to make fixes to the cockpit to prevent injuries like this th the crash jason was in kind of one of those flu crazy sprint car crashes are the just happen is there is there something in the industry is there a movement in the industry to is there anything more they can do right now to add any more elements of safety these sprint cars currently there's been talk i know last year at the beginning of the season now there was a crash of lucia st louis park in florida with david gravel and there's some issues with the frames you know they were talking about the flames may be getting too thin you know it's going to take a lot to see any major changes like that you know come to you know specifically it's car racing i mean i don't think you know i'm like nascar nascar has been with safer barriers in and as you mentioned the crash and all that and changing safety so much i don't know how far you can go with mister car to make it completely safe from your school a lot of different elements that are present per se the nascar you know you're open wheel cars hundreds of one hundred and twenty miles an hour in your inches off one another the bad things happen unfortunately yeah that's part of racing you know so it's some more safety something can look at i'm sure they'll look at some more stop and you know i don't know all the particulars of of this particular crash and and how it all you know what what's the defining factor was was it a framework was the seat was.
