I'm gonna take my every pick every year that i do the lions and the bears so there you go Go sports gift drills a new expansion team. Oh well new york needed another team in a few months. We'll see we'll see how did so we'll we'll follow up with that in february so all right well. We got a new bit that we're trying to do here on the show to engage the audience. A little more. We're gonna call it the question of the week. I think that was your name. Let me ask you a question. Quest question for you This whole idea actually was so kudos to that. I really like it. Yeah of course the. How long do you think we can hang in here. We don't have a great track record really sticking to something once we we throw it out there. I think that that We've announced we made official. So i probably a one and done dismissing. What do you think there's a very good chance of that is i i. I hope we stick with it. I enjoyed the responses. We got that we're about to get into here and if we do hang with it and it does seem like it's going to start working on a theme song so come up with some lyrics or something like that you can throw my way so we need things that rhyme with week like tweak or eke or seek what are some of your rhymes. The coming up off the cuff. I was just going. We're looking for words to rhyme with question but you want you want week tweet. Rhymes around with questions and orange beak seek guy. This is just again. This is that inside the mind of combing my created. The fraud brilliant so we don't typically throw on an episode yet but anyway so the question of the week is cute. A last episode. Does this basically that. We want to gauge the audience. We want to hear your comments out there and And it's one place that we can look at and we will read the answers to the question of the week so we'll try to keep it topical to the previous week's episode and kind of tied into that somehow but basically it's just a way to have fun and kind of get you guys involved in the show a little bit so Of course we want you to take it as seriously as most you anyway of a little update for anybody. That didn't last week. We talked a little bit about mitch. Malloy van halen. Experience and mitch malloy went on to block us on twitter About two days. After the show so i actually that was I don't know it was a proud moment for me. I called my mom. I said mom you won't believe what happened. And she's like mitch malloy blocked. You didn't she. And what yes i guess. Either that or is it was like a mitch malloy. Blocked blocked means she was like who know megawatts right. You're my mom anyway but Yeah guy i get asked that a lot that a lot by the way So yeah i mean how do you want to do this. So the question was why. Do you think mitch malloy blocked us on twitter so we have a couple of comments from twitter and we got some facebook. Do you wanna start with the facebook ones. Yeah you go you got. Oh i thought you had him. Hey twitter one pulled up all right so the first one. We got Comes from twitter. It's from antoine. Johnson is actually the first person to reply in general and he said i'm guessing it's because he backs in his pickup at the texas. I appreciate that. I think that's a good theory. I think twenty right in the episode is adding to the part about these fuck. They think they are. What what you got gotta prom me back in and just for the record If that i will say this. I don't care how people park park over to fuck you. Want i really. Don't you're making a public it was never about. This is the way to do it. And you're in it. i just don't understand it it. it's such an anomaly. That's what was interesting to me All right and then one more from a twitter. This is from brian. It says mitch. Pearly whites must now be mister sensitive. Gophers and fire made fun of me. I must cancel and blocked them. Cast my laugh my ass off so Those are the two from there. What are we going for facebook loose all right so we kick it off with sin. Zack jumping right in. And it's a gift of a tooth walking. Pearly white. Which i thought was a tour which i thought was toilet. I'm with you. yeah took to. It took me a second to put it together. but Well done chris It's very fluffy to Very sherman we'll our boy david glenn Who you be floating around the ocean with here in a little. Yes took me awhile to christmas snowflake and of course he's referring to wolf van halen so engages with trolls on social media. More than i do Which is pretty fucking solid. man our boys scott crouch yeah. He of course was wants to be part of the conversation. He says Apparently any press is not good. Press for mitch So going off of that. That old Hollywood thing any press is good. Press kid we've got courtney credentialed jumping in with. I have a few guesses. And then she gives gives them not. Thanks thanks a lot Yeah we asked. Let's hear and then nothing so yeah way to work the bed as a professional air. She's not giving away her jokes. No that said yes. She got paid. She gets paid for her writing. I can give it up on this stupid question. I answer all right todd. Cunningham says because you played the clip of him. Over steve said mitch malloy do this gig. There was a point where it was like. How many times a year talking about the grease again. I don't want to be known as the crazy guy who goes around saying he's like oh neil hanson You'll with probably because you asked him if he was the guy van halen he gets a lot so yours was most likely the last straw probably was. There's only so much you ask the man too much. He's out. On the sean colin jumps says because elsa has had no clue to find which very right after that i looked and i was way off. It is at the top of florida near the top of when the the schlongs starts not the mesh. I apologize for my job. you're the tate. Yeah all right. I'm going to probably kill this name. My yarn oh homey. We've gotta take one step backwards one more time. We're dipping back in one last time before we move on to twenty twenty because despite all the bullshit that we went through this year there actually was some really really damn good albums that came out. Yeah and i posted on facebook the other day that you know like the i. I came up with around eighty albums. That were You know that. I considered you know attention worthy to look into and then i broke that down to thirty five saul you know thirty five albums that i really liked and then narrowed it down to the top fifteen and as i know you did as well. There was a ton of great stuff released last year. I don't even feel like. I've even scratched the surface. I mean 'cause if you came up with that kind of list my list was probably half of that and then whittled it down but as always this time of year we do this episode at the end of the year every year where we look back and pick out our favorite albums that came out that year. And you know it's it's kinda cool because it's an adventure for me. Because not only. Do i got the handful of ones that i know. I love the ones that i went out and bought on the day they came out you know and the ones that i was so happy with but also it's a chance for discovery too because i actually go back and i know you do the same thing go back through and say what did we miss. You know what's out there that we didn't catch this year. I don't want nothing to slip. Pass me and actually got a few debut albums from new bands that i'd never even heard of before that we're gonna talk about here today. We got all kinds of good stuff for you. That sports the decibel geek podcasts. We've each got fifteen albums man. we'd better get to it. Yeah there's a lot to go through here so i yeah. Why don't you go ahead and start us out all right so My number fifteen or a record of twenty twenty is tyler bryant and the shakedowns pressure. Know much about this banner. What i do know is that. I've heard good things about him. People that are in our desperately geek. Community have been talking about this band I went ahead and check them out earlier in the year and thought they were pretty good Do to hell of a guitar player. I really don't know a lot about them. Well they Started out in. Two thousand nine tyler. Put the band together at the age of sixteen. So he's kind of like a teenage virtuoso. Formed here nashville. i'll cool. I do not know that yup and the lineup currently consists of tyler bryant lead guitar and vocals and needed do based on the new. So there between bass players graham whitford and caleb crosby and graham whitford sounds familiar yes. He is the son of brad. Whitford era okay. Right on so a lot of talent in this band They recorded this record in tyler basement during the lockdown and he was gonna do it as He was gonna do a song and then that turned into an ep. And next thing you knew he had a whole record put together. So it's a it's an and that was kind of our wish earlier this last year when all this stuff started was i wonder how much material is gonna come out of this and we're already seeing the fruit of that Previous releases of this ban had kind of a sameness to them for me but This album had a lot more diversity on it and showed some growth in in our good buddy de hud. He's he loves this ban and he's always been pushing me to get into and The that kinda changed twenty twenty. I got more into him. So yeah but like the.

"It is the gift that keeps on giving after all in the first four or five albums by priests are something that i treasure and so we're going to have a really good time talking about that today. You know we did this. Couple of weeks ago with wally. Gator from the cg pied cast when we did the best and worst of molly crew and so we thought that was so much fun. People dug it so much. We know our listeners. Love the judas priest and so today we're going to do that the best and worst of seventies priest. It's going to be a good one. Yeah we have awesome guests joining us today and we'll get to that just a minute. Still business take care of i. That's right before we get to the fun. We're gonna take care of business and you know us our business. It's i tunes reviews. Pod chaser reviews facebook recommendations. However you want to do it will take. It is the season of giving give us a review. Were begging for it. Got a couple of great ones here today because when they're great we gotta share them. And here's a couple of them right here. This one's entitled listening since the beginning it's got all five stars. It's an i tunes review. Hi guys longtime listener. As a matter of fact was the first geek of the week. Way back for ordering a couple of t-shirts i listen every week and loved the show however the most recent episode discussing rhythm sections had me yelling at my phone. We knew that would have oil. Yeah we predicted it and twist and moon at number seventeen. Are you guys nuts. Both redefined their instruments and were phenomenal musicians for me. They are easily atop three choice anyway. Happy holidays and keep the great content coming and that comes to us from adam. It's an awesome apple. Podcasts review from right here in the goodell. Usa thanks for the review. Nice words and your your hatred of of our pick is kind of what we're banking on. We wanted people to get upset by some of these books and it seemed to work. But yeah i mean it's always so subjective you know it It was a fun one to do. And you know. And i could go back and probably do my list completely different if we did it now totally changes. In retrospect i definitely would change a few things the way i did it. But in like i said we had twenty picks right off the top and then we went to forty on the christner show for the decibel geek. Vip's overrun patriot. And it gets even funnier and part too because you know we get cut loose a little bit more. But yeah i think i would probably go back and i would agree with adam and think that into whistle and moon should definitely been way higher than seventeen is. It does seem kind of outrageous when you look at it like that or if you're not a patriots. Vip patriots dot com. Look for because you'll want to hear the other half of the picks we had an animal agree with you because during that half of the show. I think i yelled at aaron a couple of times. Yeah the savior fury and your rage for the chris and aaron show for part two of that blood money which i did not induct bobby dall and rikki rocket. Is you trying to tell everybody. I did awesome so last week. A lot of fun. Glad we got to do that. Hey before we move on to our favorite other people. I've got one more review here. You want it's christmas right. We deserve it here. We go this. One is a pie chaser review. Checkout pod chaser awesome website where you can review your favorite podcast and also break it down episode by episode so if you you loved us during the best and worst motley crew but yeah hate us during the rhythm section draft then you can break it down and let us know both ways. This one's got all five pink stars and he comes to us from screaming stevie g. and it goes like this. This is by far my favorite. Podcast i listen to these guys. And it's like having a music discussion over beer in a local bar. Nothing pretentious an entirely rock and roll. Keep on keeping on. We got that one just a couple of days ago. So what a perfect christmas gift for the decimal geek. Podcast couple of sweet reviews. You know if you wanna leave us one. We will greatly appreciated. If it's awesome like these. We will definitely read them on the show. Yeah thanks so much for doing those in Guy you can review us on facebook. Remember that we haven't gotten one in a long recommendations. Yeah supplies take care of that. Keep them coming on no matter what the platform and Thanks again and Last piece of business or gigs of the week. So that's one of the first people join. I wanna face looks like who else loves seventies freeze and you were on it right away so i get a feeling this. This era of the band is very near and dear to your heart. This is my preferred era of the band. And i saw you post Like boom. I'm putting my name down by name gets picked. I'm this. i'm just looking forward to an excuse to talk about you. Priest awesome heck yeah. This is my favorite of priests as well. It wasn't the era that i was introduced to or came up with but nowadays looking back man. These first five priests albums are hard to beat to where gummy three for three. Because i the there at this point in time there. That's the ear i go to the most. Yeah for sure. I'm looking at this thinking. Maybe we should just call this one. the best. And the more best of judas priest in the seventies because there's really not a lot of worst that we're gonna come across today. Yeah there's there's no time for change on this Discography like we had with motley crue julian. So were you into them. Back in the in the seventies or did you come to them later like we did. I came to them later. And oddly living in england. I didn't get into them. In england it was in america. After i moved there That i discover the eyes of the lake house of on a friend. Upstate new york and his brother has brother was playing a song. And it stuck with me for years. And i didn't know who it was and i kept trying to find out who the song was kept it resonated in my head for five years. Finally eighty-five i got into the band with the turbo and went back and bought the backlog. Then i discovered that song that he'd been playing in nineteen eighty at the.

"Going to bet against. Them. All right. He's going to go for the points David Was it. A Fort Lauderdale Florida be can't know Hieaux see Fort Wayne. Indiana, or D. Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Hatami mind that was Pennsylvania's. Tolerant. Just listen to yesterday. Good. Local. I'm going to stick with Pennsylvania down. That is incorrect. The answer is Canton Ohio. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. What do you think of new Marilyn Manson album? I was really Rockford. A little weird. Stolen on. knows. I've heard a lot of different opinions on it. So many different ways in his career s another other direction. Like right on. That's cool off checking on. All right. So we go into the last question for Erin with a six to five lead over David Ho boy. All right last one for this round Aaron. Eagles. Basis Timothy. B.. Schmidt provided backing vocals for several rock artists while the band was broken up which artists did he not provide backing vocals for? David do you think he knows this one? Doesn't matter got a back about. All right David wants to join Erin. WAS IT Was it a poison be warrant see Nelson, or D.. Vince Neal Whoa ow Oh man oh it's a hard one. Isn't it would and I had no idea that he had done any of those backup vocals for any of those bands let alone three out of the four. Fuck me asking you that right see. Let's see. So the choices are poisoned weren't in who? Nelson Vince Neal Elson Vince Neal. When I put these questions together, I try to say Kenya figure it out by the choices. These bands pretty close together. Yeah that's why our let's see. Vince Neal would bend a little bit later. Nelson would have been a little bit later. Warrant was a part of that second go round poison was more original poisoned seems like the one timeline wise that sets apart from the rest but that's about as best as I can do to figure this out. So I guess I'M GONNA go poison. All, that is incorrect day. The answer is warrant. Timothy B. Schmidt did backing vocals for Nelson's ninety five album because they can thence neal's ninety to release exposed and poisons. Ninety three released native tongue. Wow. So David Bet against you. So he gets the point. and. We have a tie. So we. RIGHT EVERYBODY WINS So we don't do tiebreakers on this, this means that David has to come back to take Aaron on again or maybe come back and take on Chris next. Time. Are you done being a contestant already. Ho, man I can't imagine how bad I'm GonNa get my ass kicked in the next round but I mean this was a really good game. Yeah I tell you this when I'm hosting those are my favorite neck and neck all the way down to the end and even at that like Chris and I were talking about it. We had a tie way back when with Baako. And it was like Oh, shit well, I don't have an extra question will then the next time I thought well, should I get an extra question to compensate for tie? It's like you know what screw it. You know if it's tight, that's cool too because it opens it up for the contest into come back on the show and everybody wins. So we'll. We'll take tie right David absolutely although. Baseball. Tie goes to the runner in this case. Yes Wow dammit. That makes sense. I can't argue that. Pay, so, neither declare you the winner and you never come back on again or you can come back on again if you're okay with that sounds like a challenge from the true Geek to you David, Glenn. In the back of that. Deal with Thai then. Right on sounds good. Good Game David. That was awesome. Thanks brother we'll talk to you soon. From her All right time for around three for this week with beat the Geek Erin Camaro addition. Joining us on the line is. Well Kristen back. But as you guys know Mighty K. as we like to call her on the show. Kristen how you doing? I'm doing great nervous as all hell but. Well we like to we like to reference you as the one percent because we have one percent female listeners and you are pretty much yet. It's crazy. You're definitely one of our original lady listeners for sure. I'm proud to be just wish there was more me. Yeah. Now are more like me. And we agree that we got to meet you at rock pod last year and it was great to finally meet you in person and thanks so much for coming out. Thank you for having. I can't wait for next year I'm bummed about this year but next year going to be on. Yeah. Long as scientists get their shit together and get a fuck vaccine but anyway. Too much to drink but All right. So round three as Chris. I'm I'm sure you've listened all the beat the Geek episode, you know how the rules were correct. Okay. All. Right. So first question is always goes to the Geek in this week. It's errands so Aaron Are you ready? I guess so. All. Right. Round three first question. DC neider raged against this band his book due to them destroying a set of costumes made by his wife when they were unhappy with the results what band isn't Mighty Katie do you think he knows this one? Year facing. I think he does ours he's playing it safe. All right, Aaron. I don't even need the question the choice. Address when you were wise not bet against me because this is what I actually do know the answers crocus. That's correct. Yes. The band burn the outfits. Saw Them. They MD would later retitled them crap is. So. That is correct. That's what happens when you mess with a guy is woman you're GONNA get in trouble in D. Schneider was pissed at those guys for good reason. All right. Now, I'm already waiting for listener messages and comments saying those too easy for Erin. The only easy one I've gotten so far all these. Yeah. All right. So mighty que question goes to you. It's well known that Gene Simmons discovered, Van? Halen at a show at the Starwood la. What some people don't know is that he was initially at the club to check out. This Los Angeles band featuring guitarist George. Lynch. Aaron. Do you think she knows this one? I'm not going to bet against her. All right he's playing it safe. Right. Kristen is a snow be Ala. Carte. The see the plimsolls or d the boys. Save names again. A snow be all cart, see the plimsolls.

"The co-hosts along with their honest holds no-holds-barred opinions are more than enough reason to give them a listen the running jokes and call backs to earlier conversations never failed to amuse me I love these guys and you should too but you can't love them before you like him. So get started now you've got some catching up to do. And that comes to us from Paul Corn and it's fucking awesome. We'll speak callback backs. Here's vinnie Vincent's musical output for this week. Long. I love stuff like that, and you know makes that really cool is that because Paul corn is such an old school listener that came in way back in two thousand twelve when we're doing our inside jokes I know that there's always a handful of people that get it. There's always a ton of people that don't have no idea what the fuck we're talking about but there's always that special handful of people that'll remember that throwback joke to episode one, hundred, eight or something like that. It's cool to have people that have been on board that far back like Paul and we'd love all you new listeners to hear from you as well. But. It's great to it's great to have such a almost a decade behind us now is really hard to fucking believe. So as awesome as at is would sweet sweet facebook recommendation from are awesome. Old School good brother Paul Corn. I also had kind of gathered up a couple of comments that we had about last week's episode. When we went on the ebay treasure hunt that I thought were pretty cool I got one from Scott Smith and this one was a reminder of how you know you and I were week to week. You know we're always thinking about the next thing we're never thinking about you know two three, four episodes back. We're always on the move but what you don't think about when you're doing a podcast is at a lot of people will do. The Binge listen you know where they'll list do a whole bunch of them get caught up stopped for awhile and then start again and get caught up again we got a cool message from Scott Smith on the facebook that said listening to episode three ninety of Decibel. Geek podcasts from earlier this year while working around the House Chris in Zach and Erin Camaro I nearly died laughing at your comments on David Lee Roth, first night of the Vegas residency and Van Halen I had completely forgotten about that and I had to until he mentioned it. I don't even remember what I said, but I'm. Saying. You were Silver Sassou about David Lee. Roth. But it was damn. Funny. Well, he's had a fucking terrible patio footage. Yeah he sure did. We got another one from Angie Jacob said, got a birthday. Shout on my favorite rock and metal podcast between that and half of four eleven reunion and not having vid fiftieth birthday week was pretty fucking good. I liked to hear that. And then I gotta say we talk about this being a rock community and what we've created in there. So many people that comment on the facebook page and get in on the conversation and stuff when it came to last week and what we asked for at the end of the episode, Grayson Gaydos said great episode you guys always come up with fun and creative topics. How about enough's enough with this one? Any posted a link to this poster. That is like a one of a kind is a nineteen, ninety, eight double door Chicago and it's for awesome man it's got a clown. It's three, hundred, sixty, one dollars ninety, nine cents down. But that's what I'm talking about right there. That's kind of what we call out for at the end of last week's episode get online look up your favorite band and let us know something cool. You found in your Ebay treasure hunt and as far as I can tell Grayson the only one that was picking up we're putting down all come on people and a lot of you have really awesome collections show off what you. have so I mean there's that and that's awesome. Well, one thing that the quarantine can not stop. Is the return. Of Camaros cutout Ben if you're not familiar with this, let me reintroduce you to the concept. I am crazy. Ask My wife. She'll tell you when she standing in a music store that's got boxes random CD's, and she's been there for an hour and I'm going. Yeah. Hang on hang on hang on just give me a just give me a few more minutes. She knows I'm crazy when it comes to CDs, I will go anywhere if I think CDs, are sale. There I will pick through numerous boxes of bullshit to find one CD that I think might be cool and I go to all the good sales. We got great stores here, Nashville. I'M GONNA. Tell you about some of them here today because I picked up some awesome stuff going to a lot of different places and when it comes down to CDs that are dirt. Cheap. That's eight hundred fifty five four fifty free as in freedom. Let's go right to the phones. We've got David. Cullen from looks like Michigan David. You're on free talk. Live right off the bed. Gentlemen Ian and let me get it right. You've already got it wrong. A STERN IAN is normally the first sort of our first year host. But it's mark tonight and Richie Rich. Hey Mark Enrich. That's me and Melanie just typing away. So what's David Glenn? Hey Listen Jackson County Michigan which is but one hundred sixty thousand thirty miles or so South Lansing about ninety from Detroit to the West. We've talked about this. I think last week and of course it's made national news Of course governor. Whitman are a law. Streets Governor. Widmer her team. Dana Nessel is the Attorney General Michigan. You know she's challenging. Trump their spurring back and forth or Whitmer. Dana Nessel specifically is widmer. Did say an article. I read today. Can't verify for sure. But it was a reliable thing that she has to believe paraphrasing temper herself when she speaks about trump publicly woman. Who doesn't very divisive choose not to. She has the audacity. You know. We're GONNA need some federal dollars here especially after the catastrophic flooding in Midland Michigan. Who's to blame for that? Yeah who is the weather there? Who's to play for the broke right? You can't blame Mother Nature. I think it's maintenance of the dams and the ownership of dams who's responsible. I guess there was a purchase agreement. I believe in December or January of that series of dams that that collapsed. Now who's responsible? The Detroit News covered it for sure and you know that's that's compounding and I always stayed the ripple effect so was that a private party purchaser just went to the like. It certainly wasn't the state. Okay well what did go to fence like? Do feds own dams in states does that. Is that normal old I thought it would just be. The state depends on where you are Michigan. I don't I mean okay still depends on where you are. I think whitmer is going to have a difficult time prying trump's fingers off of Any extra federal dollars. Yeah but I mean. It's the people of Jackson County that are GonNa pay for it which You know isn't so great. He'll probably you know after after a month or so of Hemming and hiring and making a bunch of noise about it Releases Grip on the funds. And then they be magnanimous about. It would be my guess. But maybe he'll attach those funds to like a endorsement of another Republican in Michigan Right. I don't know whether I think whitmer can win. Re-election she's getting a lot and they a press oh gosh she is so much. Scrutiny Jackson Jackson Michigan is the birthplace of the Republican Party. We have plex. We have a park and burst. It's very related to automobile. Parts manufacturer okay and in the devastation. All Cronin shutdown her. I believe her heavy handed very lead handed policies along with her attorney general no sparring with trump yet. They want the money and it's very difficult to solve all the problems over the telephone men. But thank you for taking my call and I'll I'll listen for your comments off. The air definitely bit the hand that feeds them if you know you go. You're attacking trump and then you need federal funding. Yeah I mean. I've never seen it done like this before. Where the president's like I don't know whether I'm going to hand out money to this state or that state. They don't make me very well. It's always been like that. It's just usually not recorded and broadcast that part of the fun you get with trump everything is bubbling and broadcasts. If he's got some say it's going to be on twitter regard usually. Hey I'm gonNA make a phone call not like hey come see this right. Yeah well you know. He's he's really managed to turn a lot of things around for himself right like this covert thing. Obviously there's a lot of people blame him for not acting quickly enough for whatever but now he can't be blamed for unemployment not that the president's in charge of that anyway but well he was taking a lot of credit for employment and now now there's other people actively causing unemployment on purpose. I gotcha. I'm just saying this is the problem with being the president is. Is that you know you're really not responsible for the economy but you're responsible for the economy. Yeah and that's that's the way that is. I think that he's basically saying trust me. Twenty twenty one is going to be awesome and I. Maybe I don't know but he seems to like him but Wall Street isn't the economy. Even with the Whitmer thing again she butting heads with President trump but also Doubling down because all of a sudden trump saying like. No we gotTA reopen. It's time to get the economy back on track right leading up to the election right and you have whitmer. And a vast majority of other democratically run states saying no locking down even more right and honest to defy trump you. Well it's become a political football your apps unfortunately and obviously there should be. This is the difficulty was saying there should be. I think people should do what they WANNA do. And I think that a Lotta people would have self corn tnd just on their own there for awhile but the people that were scared catching the virus or were a few people would have continued on like you know just normal there at first sure because at first they only said two weeks were really between two weeks. I'll deal with your s you. It's not worth an insurrection for two weeks. By the you go the less true that becomes. That's what I'm saying. Two weeks became two months pretty quickly places extending it through June. I watched a socialist ugly cry today on Zoom Meeting. Because she's like I am so lonely. Aw You know if imagine you had faith in these sorts of organizations that Bound right and you have every reason to have people. Everybody has faith in the government. Except you know Libertarians. "Loved by many hated by bots respected by anyone. Who's ever tried to make a podcast last almost a decade. This is the desk Geek. Podcast my name is Erin. Camaro and I'm joined is always by my awesome friend. Kristen Zag. Hey how's it going man good going on in the world nowadays in in our world in our world specifically rock and roll podcasting whoever thought it could make such a big difference. It's been a soap opera week for for our little bubble of the world. Yeah I told everybody we'd be having a sit down conversation this week about all the things going on and we're definitely going to do that but of course before we get all that we gotta take care of. That business and the business is reviews in recommendations. We don't beg for a lot. This is one thing we'll get down on our knees for and say. Please give us a review in a recommendation. It means so much no reviews this week. The world's crumbling around us the times they changing the botts took our reviews away to Danna win. We'VE BEEN BANNED FROM REVEAL. Be podcasting naked inside of a month. I can't even have clothes. Oh man you're welcome for that visual those of you that know. We look like yeah. Are we going? That was the messaging. You telling me back telling you that. Yeah yes that's correct. Well so if you do feel like leaving us review you know where to do at. Yeah we need some. Dj with the Tomes Company and had some feedback because people have tried the trial. And it's working for them. That's so Happy for that. I gotTa tell you any music. You're hearing during this episode. Here today is brought to you by are awesome friends in the band. Jesus Chrysler and we're playing them today in tribute of Craig Duffy. They're awesome drummer. Who recently passed away. Our hearts and prayers go out to the band. Their fans their family their friends. Everybody because you know a good friend of ours here. Geek has been for many many years and even the one thing really love. Most they think about Jesus Chrysler first off their awesome rock band that rate great songs and secondly they do all these awesome skits and videos and stuff and the last couple of days. Bach O.'s been posting a lot of that stuff. And it's funny because I've been we've been doing this for so long known. Baca for so long. I've seen a lot of these videos over the years. And it's almost like you get to know a little bit. Because he's such a cool part of all those videos and he posted kind of like a mash up of different things involved. Duffy in Decided I told him? I don't know if it helps much but I got a few chuckles in a smile out of watching it. Seems like he was a great dude. And you know I'm I'm way too young ago and I'm sorry for for you. To awesome one. Go check it out to one of my favorite t shirts where to yeah. I love that shirt. So yeah but yeah so. We've we before we get into the universally rejected title and what that's about Some of you already know I there's some other sad news that we got This week and it looks like the end of the line for the Rock and metal combat podcast. And it's not easy. It's when you start a podcast like this and I joked about it coming into the show. That's now we're almost at this a decade now like a year and a half shy of it That's amazing so many awesome. Podcast have fallen by the wayside. Along the way you know that Kinda come up with US. And that's always a bummer. To see that because what? I've learned is you know podcasting especially rock music. Podcasting is such a brotherhood That we all wanted rise up together and we all want to do something better for the listeners. And so when a man I it's hard to even put it in words when awesome one like rock and middle combat PODCAST DROPS OFF. That is true bomber. Yeah and one of my favorite go to podcasts. Over the years and And also both the in and Ralph became friends of ours multiple. It's it's a sad thing and And you know everybody's got their reasoning for for doing what they do and I'm not gonNA try to stand in the way of them not doing the show anymore because they have to do. What's right for them? And I appreciate everything that they have done over the years but as the organizer of Rock and pot I. I'd like to stand in the way of it if we could if I could but as the organizer of Rock and pot I need to say a things and I need to make a plea for something. Yeah because nobody's GonNa come to Rockin Pot if we're hoping Ian aren't there well I hopefully. You're wrong on that. But they they were a big part of it. The rocket pod Expo would would not be what its become without those two and and they're listenership. The of the and I put a post on their page this morning saying I have a few things to say about this. And listeners of this show need to listen to Decimal Geek this week. A lot of you already do and we appreciate that. But I've got some a few things I want to say. I I get you know if you don't WanNa work together in and Ralph Oprah listening to this. That's fine but I want to propose something. Everything's fresh right now. I don't I'm not taking sides on this. I love both of you. The thing is I'm what I'm making a plea for one time at Rockin pod this year for you guys to get up on stage and do a live rock and metal combat podcast just to ride off into the sunset because a yeah the biggest reasoning. I know you both and I know you both love each other like brothers and for there to be tension and bad feelings right now. That sucks but you guys have too good of a friendship even regardless of whether you do the show regardless of whether you come to the expo or not. I want you guys to Hash that out because as to good guys. I think you guys should work that out between yourselves because you guys have a good friendship even though there's issues now and you guys would tell Aaron either same thing if we were doing this going through this too. I think so. It's not it's not worth you know. Whatever stuff led to this recent decision to blow a friendship up? And then definitely not so. That's my first point but if you guys come I think because here's the thing the listenership of your show as you guys have seen this week the outpouring of love you guys have gotten you guys have probably the most loyal listenership of any rock and roll. Podcast that's out there. I mean and you've and it's well deserved because you you do an entertaining show but you guys have seriously devoted fans and these people come out in mass every year to donate to the expo two to be attendees of the Expo. And this is the this is not about me selling tickets or anything like that this me thinking that the fact that you guys are so ingrained as part of rock and pot and bringing it to be what it is the best way to go out and get together one time give each other a hug or blow job and to crack a few jokes for the people that want to see. You guys do a one more time. That's all that's all I'm asking that's aspect of a to rock and metal combat being such an awesome show and having such a legendary backlog now all the episodes they've done for it to end the way it did. I don't like that. It's just Kinda like if you're new when you discovered it you loved it. You listen from their very first step so all way up to the end you'd feel bad because there's no closure right so even if you guys can't have don't work together anymore give your listeners. Some closure yeah just do the one hang on well with us at rock and not the same without you guys and all and you don't have to like do any shows leading up to this. You don't even have to talk to each other leading up. I just want both of you to you. Could private message me and just agree to it. That's IT and show up and do it but I I want the hatch to get buried not in each other's heads but but I want you guys to do this because I think I think it's worth it's worthy thing and I think The listeners will do it. And so there's a lot of rocket medal combat podcast listeners. Hearing me say this join me and harassing both Ian and Ralph and pushing them to do this. Because I think it's the best way to do it and tell them if they don't do it they have to deliver the podcast. Kings crowns to US immediately. I like that. Yeah as runner up. Yeah to the awesome tournament that tore the world apart years ago. If you guys don't do this at rocket aired and I are going to get fitted for crowns. Yes so if that doesn't motivate you. I don't know so I've said my piece listeners. You know what to do. Yeah tell those guys in the clip of this. Tell them we love you and we want you to do this one more time. Some shirts printed out Ralph in for Rock and Pied Twenty Twenty and do the Iowa's their shirt. We do the whole thing with this. You know whatever whatever it takes because we don't need a Tommy say or in rock and metal combat.

"I'm Ryan Gorman with me in studio James Berliner and Katie boo Chino if it feels like to spend more time on the road here in Tampa Bay it's because you all are according to US census data released last week ten years ago about one in seven Tampa Bay area workers spend more than forty five minutes commuting to work. now it's approaching one in five you spend forty five minutes commuting right at least yeah it is that is that because of how far away you are or traffic or combination of well if I drive at three o'clock in the morning which I typically do it takes me about thirty five minutes if I drive okay any time a day after eight AM yeah it's usually about an hour and ten minutes right when when I come in if I'm doing and Tampa Bay or come in and super early so I'm coming in at that you know yeah four AM hour then and it takes me from Carol would about twenty five minutes straight up Dale Maybury. easy ride sailing yeah that time of day it when I'm normally come in for PM Tampa Bay it's usually between thirty five forty minutes depending and that's moving that's me moving on the veterans at a pretty good clip awful I for is just. that's where you're taking yeah I for in the Solomon nationally yeah it is most commuter still spend less than thirty minutes getting to work but the numbers are headed in the wrong direction in twenty ten it was sixty three percent now it's less than fifty six percent most people travel by car or truck and do so alone nearly four out of five trips in Tampa Bay area are solo commutes the numbers increase since the Great Recession remains higher than the national average car pulling is the number two option making up about nine percent of commutes down from ten years ago most are two person car pulls only a fraction involved for more people. the one thing I'm wondering here. when they say solo commutes in car pulls car pulls wouldn't be like a family right if you're driving with your kids that would be considered a solo commute yeah I would think so I think carpool means with other another person yeah could drive yeah. out walking stayed about the same making up about one point four percent of daily trips to work Walker's tend to be the youngest group of commuters with an average age of under thirty four. that's got to be rough especially during the summer months trying to walk to work on okay how close the job is even it's right around the corner yeah now the swan boats by time to get indoors the number of people cycling to work is fallen since two thousand ten what about one in every hundred fifty commutes was by bicycle now it's one in every two hundred. and to show how bad public transit is in the Tampa Bay area it's one of the worst in the country the twenty people who consistently walk to work each day out number the almost nineteen thousand who take public transit. nationwide about five percent of commuters use public transit here one point three percent. no surprise there really is no public transient out with how many options now one final item that stood out in the report is that in two thousand ten sixty thousand people work from home that number has now reached a hundred five thousand or about one out of every fourteen local workers which is higher than the Florida average and way higher than the national average. that's a compromise is some businesses are willing to look at yeah because transportation and ends the commutes are becoming so bad here in the Tampa Bay area it's like you know what just work from home we'll have more time because you're not on the road in our. to work in an hour active over us yeah not in the car you can get more done in the technologies there where it can be pretty seamless still some good news on the transportation front. when I saw this I was thrilled. the Florida department of transportation is chosen a plan for Tampa's downtown interchange also known as malfunction junction for good reason the requires far less land and property then the state's previous plans that they can fix this this has to be taken care of years ago district secretary David Glenn told the Hillsborough metropolitan planning organization did this preferred alternative isn't perfect but offers balance addressing traffic and safety concerns while minimizing the impact in the neighboring community it also would not include tolls that was an option that was being looked at the plan would add lanes and reduce merge points the cost will be about a hundred seventy five million and the three parts of the project would be billed separately over the next five years or so as money becomes available so that's the problem. this should be a top priority we got to get this done what is it not I mean they're talking about. being done over the course of the next five years or so in separate parts like a punch to the heart. you can't have a merge with one no it's so bad it's ridiculous and it backs up everything else it's a domino effect I like getting mad thinking about it like I'm getting aggravated this one of the reason I don't take two seventy five through downtown to the Salman to the station anymore from from the care what area is one of the reasons I take the I took the veterans battling it it's a nice it's malfunction junction that becomes the disaster. so here are the three parts. expanding the flyover ramp connecting southbound I. two seventy five to I. four from one lane two two and building a new offramp for eastbound I. for fourteenth and fifteenth street allowing easier access to eat more city. the biggest thing is you've got to make the flyover ramp two planes period. they also want to add a lane from west bound I for the I two seventy five north and add a ramp at fourteen street to goes exclusively to I two seventy five north to a couple of things that'll make all set up a lot easier and then in that they want to widen the ramp from westbound I. for the I two seventy five south to three lanes and they want to move the downtown exit further south to spread out exit points all of this sounds great the problem is not happening anytime soon. a public hearing is going to take place in February and then the state will submit the project federal highway administration for approval have you where just the public hearing. we have it like next week. is that impossible.
