"Listen to what former steeler ryan clark. Our colleague ryan clark had to say about big ben yesterday on get up they do need to use naasi harris into pass game as we saw them in the second half and you have to run the ball. You need the volume. You need the numbers ben. Rothlisberger is in a position where he's going to stand in the pocket because he understands that he needs to win now but that may be to his detriment because he won't make it seventeen games. Yeah yeah look. I was there and it's it's human nature guy. He's thirty nine years old. He's made two hundred million dollars in his career which he deserves. He's an all time great. They lost three offensive. I'm in all hundred. Villanova waiver david decastro castro and most notably the quarterback their offense light pouncing markey's pansy and to me guys. Here's where i see a misalignment bring those three dudes back and have a last dance with him and the quarterback. But don't start couple. Rookie offense lineman with a guy that doesn't wanna get hit anymore. And i'll tell you this. Like the vegas raiders control the lion scrooge max crosby janaka then solomon. Thomas had two sacks from the interior defense line ben couple times in there but he really didn't look comfortable guys and i'm just telling you like we've been there with testa verdy farve jay cutler. It's over for the sky and he's just not the same player he was an. I know how hard it is to replace one offensive lineman and off-season. He's trying to replace three. And this interception right here. I know there's all people just lucille radio. But he got flush out of the pocket quickly. It kinda heave the ball up and trayvon mullen easy interception and you've got a guy on the other side. Derek carr who is playing as good as he is right now and the gap at the quarterback position for the pittsburgh steelers for the first time in a decade is pretty significant and is a new offensive scheme to so you put all that in combination mean. how how. How do you even go through your progress. She's not even factor all right. What what is the sense in that. I thought when they brought i totally agree with mike here. They bring back a quarterback who could dink and dunk last year and work but they did they pick up a running back. They don't address the line if anything the line. Take a step backwards. Do they think they're going to get a better result. And last year. I think when you when you are evaluating talent in you. Got your board in mike. Speak to this. Because he's had some boards and you start to look at players that are already in house. You feel comfortable about the direction in which those youth you guys are growing. They're getting better so you look at a guy like pouncey who decided to retire. It wasn't that they didn't want he just didn't wanna play football anymore. And so when you in Villanueva left right in free agency so when you start to look at that you say to yourself if we could put bandaids on this and this and we can get some push because the lime and they have now may be stronger in the run game than they are on their heels in the passing game so they say we're going to push the ball forward so we gonna draft the running back because our strength on the off into line is the running game so you can see when nausea harris was able to get some. Hey but then. They had to pass the ball in. That wasn't the strength going up against this. Retool raiders defense. As mike mentioned that defense align were manelli gang romanelli. Bessie line coach. There ever was. So the raiders. Defense the line is going to play mike. That's interesting to me in the next thirty seconds or so. Is this an issue at all of pittsburgh. Overvaluing what they had internally gets the ruining families showing incredible loyalty which we give them great credit but not making the honest and sober decision..

"On the first one is in pass protection. The steelers offensive line did pretty good. They did pretty good. Dan moore gave up a sack that was strip sacked. That was that was. He got. Beat pretty badly on that one. He recovered nicely as always. He has long arms and he uses them well so even when he gets himself in a bad spot. Those long arms can help if you remember the plan talking about the the defensive end got ben from behind reached around and slap. The ball out does because ben rothlisberger could see dan. We're getting beat. Dan moore was able to push the guy back behind. Ben rothlisberger and ben rothlisberger was able to step up but then more wasn't able to follow through and keep any kind of control of the the defensive end after he'd gotten beat after he pushes him back. Ej he's still can't get any control of the play and the guys able to come up and stripped the ball. There was a couple more times where you're you're looking at it saying okay that's trae. Turner got beat their core had a pretty rough game but mostly they kept ben pretty clean especially the interior the interior of the pocket. Now there were sometimes blitzes up the middle. got them. okay they didn't pick up every blitz up the middle perfectly but for the most part when they're just man on man. the interior defense did pretty interior offensive. Line did pretty well keeping benz pocket. They're better than i expected. Not anywhere close to what the standard has been in the past when david decastro markey's pouncey ramon foster ormat filer. We're all healthy. When those guys are healthy and playing well it was a totally different totally different matter but these were first game. They did pretty good. Secondly i want to say about the offense of lines. Don't blame the offensive line for the run game. Run game wasn't there in week one but not much of that. Blame falls on the offensive line. The buffalo bills were packing the box. They were putting everyone up. Close to the line of scrimmage there were plays on second and eight first and ten second and you can count ten defenders within three yards. Of the line of scrimmage ten meaning they had ten way up on the line and one deep they were playing press on the on the receivers with one deep safety. You have to beat that in the passing game they are straight out telling you we're here to stuff your little short passes we're here to stuff your screen passes to stuff your run game. You're gonna have to throw over them and beat them deep. The steelers were not able to do that. The bills kept players up on the line and even when the offensive line made all their blocks. The tight ends made their blocks. You would still see someone just running free because you don't have enough people to account for them all so that is something we have to look to in the future and see how the how the run game improves. But really. it's on the passing game to make teams pay for that and that sets up for the next stage. Which is ben rothlisberger. Ben was not the best early in this game. You could tell he. I don't know if it was nerves. I don't know if it was just a little bit old old man adrenaline. I don't know what it was. But he was off target on a lot of short throats and the ones that hurt. The most in my mind were the late. Throws the nausea harris were harris slips out. He's wide open and then just throws it over his head to the point that you see now noisy. Here's with no one around him and he's jumping and reaching out just to get a single hand on the ball. I mean even if he catches that you're not getting anywhere because he spent all his effort just trying to haul in the football. If ben can get those passes on target harris can make something happen. We saw his longest gain. Preseason was off the past like that when he's in the open field..

"Come back within a couple of weeks. So of course not having steph onto it hurts but the steelers defensive line still is one of the deepest and strongest leaking cam hayward enticed now. While we're still going to be there still going to be the starters. So i'm not too worried. Pass them the steelers coming into this game. They have a wealth of newtown. That's how they did not have in twenty twenty You think of the players. The steelers lost In this offseason like along the offensive line alejandro villanueva matt filer. Markey's pouncey david decastro yet. There was some big names that The steelers had to part with. But those guys were training on the way down steals your replace them with guys like kevin dotson who is one of those up and coming offense lineman the nfl kendra. Green is a center of the steelers. Were very high on well before the draft took place and then trae turner. The offense line is still has a ton of question marks but if we look at this entire roster as a whole the steelers really have improved their depth and did an outstanding job drafting. This team is a stronger officer than it was last year for being honest with ourselves. You look into quarterback group that's about the same. Of course the backup level players are a little bit better but ben rothlisberger is not coming off an injury. The tight ends zad pat farm youth. And eric hebron's appears to be one hundred percent not nursing an ankle injury like he was last year the receivers or another. You're older more chemistry with big ben. Still of course. Like i mentioned the o. Line scott those question marks. The defensive line is still pretty much exactly the same minus stefan too because of his injury. The edge room. Yes the steelers. Lost bud dupree. Who's coming off an acl. But alex highsmith looks like he's prime for a massive step forward and melvin ingram.

"You know so although they could get him up to speed otherwise they could still especially if it's someone who they had on their roster they could take a little time for that one but But we'll see that losing rochet. I'm trying to remember who else who else was like sims. The received gifts term was the other one I keep getting a mixed up at the s. you know. There's two sims last year. I don't wanna get too excited over that. It's these kind of moves are intriguing. Because you're like they cared enough to get them from another team but get them onto their practice squad. So i i don't wanna get too excited over practice squad guys because as soon as you can. You're like oh yeah. Practice squad like remember the the the return of weight. I'm gonna screw it up. What was it sudden. Smith was that his name certain smith. He didn't make the team though but they brought him back to the practice squad one day for one day when he comes back then then they brought it back a few days later for like a week and then cut again. That is still a my. Let's ride podcast. I literally brought him up and talked about him out of the blue his name smith crazy that you brought him not just so i don't want to get. I liked it. kevin raiders. There believe it or not. That's one that i really like that. They could do that. You don't want to use you know a roster spot for four tight ends. But he's a guy that i could see coming up. I also know there's been some other people other people that do what we do that were upset about the steelers at tackle of why aren't they adding attack at tackle with banner going on the r. Well first of all they had to do something else guard they had no. They had no debt guard. You know these guys were coming back but if you really look at tackle i liked how chaz green looked in the preseason and you've got to think that if that if someone gets dinged up a tackle he's gonna i'm. I'm not going to be shocked if he's going to be protected for them a lot. And then that someone that they could elevate if if someone's hurt. They need more depth at tackle to have on the sidelines. Just in case. Because i think he looked i did not expect him to do what he did in the pre like this like lance used to say those dash guys. You know what i mean. You thought he signed him and he was just going to be a dash guy and he and he did better than that and he deserves a spot or the practice squad all right. Well that's all get information. And so i don't wanna be repetitive. These evening shows. I'm sure that you know michael. And geoffrey talk a lot about this stuff so we're gonna talk about something a little different kind of thing outside the box which we often do on the steelers preview and since there's no game coming up this sunday we're just gonna talk about some players that i viewed as impact players so players that are going to have some type of impact on the team in yet have not been talked a lot about this preseason and so immediately for me it eliminates every single rookie like right off the bat because i feel like rookies. Have a spotlight on them. No matter what everyone's watching to see. How the rookies do and they had nine. And they were still all talked about a lot so immediately. You're listening to this. You're thinking okay. Will i want to go with no. There's no rookies on my list. I don't think dave. Unlv rookies did you on your list again and now brian did give us a list. He's not here to talk about it so we'll go through his list as well Dave you and i only have one player to players. Overlapping and brian. Why have won with him. So i'm going to start off all talk. I'm checking brian's. I have worked with him as well. Okay so we'll we'll we'll meander away through this. I'm going to go with my first. Which dave this player as well. We'll talk about this and that's trade. Turner Trade turner is a guy who i think is really important for the steelers offensive. Line he is the veteran on that group but visit weird he signs after david decastro gets released and no one has really talked about him since there were a couple moments where a couple of people that are practice regularly said you know. Turner hasn't looked at grade. Kind of looks a little rusty nothing more than that and since then nothing like nothing. He's not. I mean what are his. Pf scores david good bad indifferent. What i don't even know we haven't heard about her good. Okay knock it. That's farming well. What i can with the rest of the offensive. There's plenty of the players in there that are worth the is not bad as jukes but still he also doesn't have a lot of snaps he also does not have a lot of five forty five and four and four breezy games. We only played in two of them. Yeah exactly so. I'm saying there's not a ton of snaps there so i think he's incredibly important in an impact player if he can in. Jeffrey benedict's is comparing him to elder statesman. Ramon foster meeting ramon foster in his final figures. Who is still impact player. Dave talked about trade term. why he major list. He made by liz's because like i said that he's a guy that is if he struggles the steelers are going to be in trouble. They are and right now. He hasn't really given any indication that he's not. I mean if you look at his twenty twenty he struggled if you look in the preseason. He didn't lois away. I mean to put it kindly at times but he is one of those players. He's a better pass. Blocker a run blocker at least recently. But there's all you still got that pro- potential in there that you're just saying hey. Can we get that out of him. Can he get comfortable and confident enough with this team that he can do that because think about it. I mean what was the what was it was august. Twenty first was the lions game..

"Analysis and he's a free agent. He finds his way pittsburgh. Just like melvin. Ingram he is. He's considered to be healthy now. And i've really like everything that he saying. As a veteran their words matter to me as a rookie words don't matter. I don't need to hear you say it. I want you to show me that you can do it but verner trae. Turner say that. He respects david decastro that he understands that a lot of people were comparing him to david castrated their different players. David decastro is great. He's been saying all the right things. He shows respect level for the players that went before him. And he's really excited to get an aggressive offensive line back in pittsburgh and that's what we all want. We want this team to be able to run the ball. We want this team to be more smashmouth. We want this team to be more physical and way trade turner talks. That's where they're headed and that's exciting. It's i've learned a lot about trade turner. As he's a new player. He met with media on sunday. And so that's awesome. Now you might be sitting the thing. What about special teams. You talked about defense. Javale talked about offense jeff. What about special teams. Well first and foremost there's been no reports of special teams so far in training camp and don't talk to me about that weasel boy jordan berry being the starting punter on the first depth chart. I don't wanna hear it. I don't wanna hear it. Why do i not want to hear it. Because jordan barium again. They're not just going to give the job to presley harbin. he's after earn it. He's in the preseason and out punt jordan berry i hate saying that but if if presley harbin big press as i call him if he goes out there in shanks punts guess. What weasel boy. We'll be right back where he was last year. That's just the facts. So i don't wanna talk about special teams. I really don't that deb. Charlie ticked me off on away. All right let's go to our final segment. Here will the preseason be a good test for the steelers and we'll tell us anything in. Let's go what did i say. Will this preseason be a good test and we'll tell us anymore. First and foremost. I think that having four preseason games is a plus for the steelers there team we think about the offensive line. This is an example. They have five players in new positions this year. They might be a new player whether it's trae turner. They may be a rookie like kendrick green. They might be a second year player. Like kevin dotson or maybe they're a trade turner's new team right garter for hasn't played left tackle since colleges act banner who only played in three quarters of a game last season as a starter. They could use all the practice they can get. I mean all of it. So when i looked through this. Let's go over these four games. I the hall of fame game august fifth versus dallas. Are we going to learn anything in that game. Probably not probably not being completely realistic. We'll look at death. We'll we'll focus on players like shocker brown and the mon- wade. We'll we'll watch those guys but we're not gonna learn too much the second week which is week one. Technically the pittsburgh steelers go to the philadelphia eagles. Well first and foremost. Hey this this got a little bit more interesting. Why stephen nelson's on the other side so the steelers will be in steven nelson willy play. I don't know but their defense is going to go in jalen hurts. I'm sure he'll play some in that first week. Maybe not a lot. Will the steelers see ben rothlisberger in that week one game and remember when i say we want..

"More than anything but then week twelve week. Twelve to me. That was the turning point of the season we twelve. What was the steelers eleventh game. They won the game. But this is where everything didn't seem right. This was to me from this point on there. With one exception in there and we'll talk about that exception. This is where things just didn't seem to go right but those weikkola start week twelve against baltimore in pittsburgh after the game was delayed almost a week i think it was was it five days or six days being delayed out of now supposed to be thanksgiving night ends up being played on a pretty with tuesday afternoon or when i can't even remember it was so brutal It started at three. Oh it was wednesday wednesday. What am i saying. It wasn't tuesday. It was wednesday through you. Know started started at three forty in the afternoon crazy. The steelers really scored nineteen points. But they won the game but they're starting lineup was villanueva. Filer j. c. Hassen our david decastro and jukes gave the steelers only rushed for sixty eight yards. They didn't surrender any sacks but they rushed for sixty eight yards and it seemed like something wasn't wasn't quite right there. You know there are playing a depleted squad. And that was kind of the point where you're like i don't know and then it kind of all came crashing down the next week because the same starting lineup started the next week which was with. Jc asked now at center and the steelers they. They lost the washington football team. Seventeen to twenty three and that was after being up fourteen three and a half time. So you're like okay. What happened well. How about twenty one rushing yards. Twenty one rushing yards. He didn't give up any sacks again but they only gave the only had twenty one rushing yards on fourteen attempts. Okay not a lot of attempts for twenty one yards and it just seemed like. That's when the offense could go at seem like ben. Rothlisberger was still in the ball route. Almost too quickly. And if you look at some of the film something that jeffrey brand x. Brought up it was. It almost seems like there wasn't really much trust in one. Jc our so. Then you go to on the week fourteen when the starting lineup goes back to the normal starting lineup big al filer penalty to castro tooks. They more than oil. They more than doubled their rushing output of forty seven yards. But they did surrender sack. This was this was fifteen to twenty six. That was the final score against the bills. And you've got to remember the steelers. Were up seven to three until the pick. Six right before the half. I mean with less than a minute left in the first half buffalo gets picked the steelers shut them down entire first half and just two drives in the second half and that was it that was it was the pick six and they gave up two drives in the second. Half where basically buffalo did was move. Stefan digs the other side of the field. Used him for two drives than the steelers figure it out and it was done. I mean it was crazy. Just how very little part of that game is what lost the steelers that game but that was the output there. Then you move on to week fifteen. The steelers once again can't hit twenty points. They hadn't at twenty points since since everything started return and that week in that week. Twelve game against the ravens. They felt seventeen to twenty seven to the to the bengals to the bungles. He can't really call them that when they win. Put the starting lineup for that. One in week fifteen was big ow. Jc has our guard. Markey's pound.

"Tackle took sikora for who started. Fifteen games obviously didn't start week one. We'll get to that eventually. And so therefore the steelers were eleven and four when troops was in the starting lineup. Then the other three guys all tied they all had thirteen starts on the year matt filer. At left guard had thirteen starts with eleven to markey's pouncey it centered thirteen starts. The steelers went eleven into when he was in the starting lineup. And right guard. David decastro thirteenth start. Steelers went nine and four. When castro was in the starting lineup. But i'm not. I'm not saying that's all on him. But the castro was not the same player at the end of the year that he was the beginning. The earth there was just there you could tell there was something not right with him and steelers nation was hoping you know get right in the off season and come back ready for twenty twenty one. Unfortunately that didn't happen. He wasn't able to get right in the off season so therefore he's no longer part of the pittsburgh steelers at this time. So let's look at the other guys other other guys that starts on the offensive line first of all you got zach. Banner and go ahead and throw in. Stephan was new sqi. Both of those guys started one game in week. One steelers won the game right. They got injured on back-to-back plays so but banner was lost for the season was new. Ski was lost for a while but even when they brought him back to ended up releasing him just because things weren't really fitting that wealth you watch that week one game. The other players that started was kevin dotson had four starts on the season. The steelers went three and one dogs. When dots was in the starting lineup. And then the one other player that started was jc hassen. Our had four starts on the season and the steelers went one in three when he was in the starting lineup. So if you kind of look at those records. I don't you know kind of want to pick on one player but we will just say there was only one player out of everyone who the steelers did have a winning record when they were in the starting lineup. So was that important. Was that not that lead to it. That's what we'll do. Bob breaking things down week by week. I'm actually going to go ahead and do our break really early. Because it's going to take some time to go to these week by week. And i don't want to stop in the middle so we're gonna go ahead what to get to get our quick commercial break. Listen jerry band and we'll be right back to break this down. See who the starting lineup was every week in..

"Um, and it came off the back of a sequence of three or four years where he hadn't been at the same kind of level. I mean, Green Bay drafted his replacement. For reason. And it wasn't because he was starting to look old, and he physically didn't look like he could handle it anymore. And they were concerned about the fact that Rogers was about to hit this cliff that old players hit It was that he just hadn't been playing at the same kind of level that he used to. And so then they could start to think about the future because you weren't bound by the fact that you know you're 37 38 year old quarterback is is the best quarterback in the NFL. So you just have to write bad until the wheels fall off. This was a guy who looked like he was declining wasn't the same force he had been, and so you can start to think about a replacement and the succession plant. Then he comes back there and has, you know, phenomenal bounce back year in the best season of his career, But again, anybody you have a decade plus long career and then post the best season of it. You're automatically going to assume he's coming down next year. You know how much Is up for debate. But you have to expect him to go down rather than up just because all the data you have Says that that was the high water mark it Sam Montagnard guess. Pro football focus dot com Taking time away from swatting rabbits away from his chili plants out behind his is living quarters. We hope Sam has a great harvest coming up here in the fall. He, uh The other article is five NFL teams with an Achilles heel that could derail their 2021 season. I won't go all through all five. I want to concentrate on Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh's kind of painted itself into a corner. From a cap standpoint, Uh, Alejandro Villain, a wave of God marquees pounce. He retired. They elected not to resign or bring back David DeCastro. This wood is a team that wasn't very good on the offensive line last year to begin with. They were a couple of years ago. But I'm just wondering What you're thinking is with regard to what Pittsburgh has done to itself. It really hasn't been anyone else. What it's done to him set themselves factoring in or sprinkling at a lot of a little bit of bad luck, particularly when it comes to Pouncey. Yeah, it feels like this year is the season where they're kind of. They're going to reap what they've sold for a few years now, and it's not that this season has been a sequence of bad decisions, but they just haven't plan. Well, what we're coming down the line in terms of this offensive line, getting old and declining, and, um, potentially disappearing at the same time. So you know David DeCastro. They released him, but he's going to be injured. He's going to be getting surgery. He wouldn't have been playing anyway. Um, so that's a little bit unfortunate Marquees parents, he retired. Pounds. He just hasn't been player. That's certainly that they think he has been for a while. Now, Pff grades have been heading in the wrong direction, and we're pretty bad last year. We've never rated him as well as the height, but he he was way below the height as we didn't go on was, you know, one of the worst centers in the NFL Villa Nueva has been a solid player, but not a great left tackle and They allowed him to walk. The issue is that they? They're just starting essentially a complete New offensive light in terms of experience and in terms of proven commodities, and it's difficult to, uh it's difficult to maintain a decent offensive line just when you have to make multiple changes, even if there Have proven quality changes, and the Steelers aren't doing that. They're making all these changes, and they have almost nothing in terms of proven quality like that. The most experience, um they have from that line is a couple of 100 staff have to use and play from people, so it's very difficult to see how that line is going to be anything other. But a significant drawback to that offence. Sure, and they spent a first round pick on a running back. So how effectively can they run the ball this year? And they've got a quarterback who is in his last season and is pushing 40. I mean this This could be absolutely disastrous for them. Might I don't honestly without without trying to sound too much like a guy that lives in Cincinnati. I I don't see how Pittsburgh doesn't Finished fourth in that 14 division this year to you. Well, I think they could avoid them. That defense should still be very, very good. The offense has weaponry. You know, Brothels. Burger is a question mark and how much he is able to push the ball down the field. Which is what I think he needs to do versus last year is up for debate, particularly with that offensive line, but they have good receivers. They have a quarterback that can at least get the ball there if you have the platform to do it. A running back is going to fix the run game. But it should be, uh, from a talent standpoint better than it was last year. Really? The question is how how much of a platform And that offensive line give them to be functional because Everything require that line to work in order for it to go the way it needs to, and it's very difficult to see how that's going to function. But I don't think this is going to be a team that just completely disintegrates. I think there's too much talent on the roster for them to be awful. Um, and you know, one of the worst teams in the NFL. But they have fallen. You know, some way behind teams like Cleveland and seems like Baltimore that have patched up their trouble spots. And now look to have very complete heat. Yeah. Yeah, I think you're right. Good luck with the chili plants. You know, I'm always available. Always available to come over, you know, dinner, you know, drinks. Whatever you need. If you're going grow, If you're growing stuff, I'll bring the beer. How about that? Yeah, I'm only growing chilies, though, So I'm not sure we're going to get that much out of it. Thank you, Sam. Thanks. Big it easy. There is one of the best. Sam Monsoon. Pro football focus dot com. I mean, I mean, Okay, again, we go back to what we were talking about. Earlier. It's you know, it's it's gum flapping its July nobody's reported to camp. Could Bates fall off from where he was? Well, he was so good last year. Sure. He could. He could fall off and still have a better year. Because he's now surrounded. It would seem with better talent. Or certainly talent in that secondary that should allow him to excel. But he has a special player. There's no question about it. Coming up on 11 2011 20 already still ahead. We've got, uh Pete Sampson. Pete Sampson from the athletic dot com on the national Beat down that the Supreme Court gave the A a this past week. It's Kane something chicken. I don't I don't eat that, but anyway signed a national deal with that, and and they also signed. The current quarterback. At LSU. So Endorsement deals are beginning to roll in. And what does that mean? Exactly how much money Is there out there for outstanding collegiate athletes. "You for this monday wednesday friday. Let's ride podcasts. It is a monday. And i hope that you all had a great weekend. I hope that you're ready for this week. And the steelers. My goodness the pittsburgh steelers i swear to you. They are not listening to me. I'm telling him all day. What did i say. No news is good news in the offseason. You don't have news. That's a good thing that means you don't have injuries. You don't have players getting in trouble off the field. You just have a standard offseason. Seems like the pittsburgh steelers. Don't want to abide by that. Because on friday the pittsburgh steelers announced or maybe it was thursday. I'm trying to think. I think it was thursday one of those days. I dunno the steelers announced david decastro was released released from the team straight up and i wanna make sure i i let my listeners know that i do record my podcast the day before they run live and my podcast go at five. Am eastern standard time. If you think that. I'm waking up at four o'clock to record it live and then just running right after. Well you're not. I'm not doing that. I might wake up around four o'clock for some things but neel not to not to record a podcast. I would not be mentally prepared. We'll put it that way. So when i did my show on friday i did. Not people were probably. I really hope. The people were tuning in on friday. To think what is jeff have to say about this decastro situation. And they didn't hear that i was really proud of the podcast. I did on friday. When i was talking about you. Know essentially what will it take for the steelers reclaim their identity and believe it or not it all kinda ties together and we're gonna talk about that because today's podcast is going to be all about what david decastro departure means for the twenty twenty one dealers. What does his release mean for the twenty twenty one pittsburgh steelers mainly that often sublime. We're gonna talk about that before we get to that. I want to mention we are a part of and i say.
Steelers Sign Pro Bowl Guard Trai Turner After Releasing David DeCastro
"The steelers made some news yesterday by releasing veteran guard. David decastro cut saves the steelers eight point seven million dollars in cap space and they moved quickly to replace decastro by signing free agent guard trae turner but this all comes after longtime senator mark pouncey retired and the steelers lost offense lineman matt feiler now one hundred villanueva in free agency back in march so big changes for a unit in charge of protecting thirty nine year. Old ben rothlisberger jeff. How did this all come about. Well dan if we didn't already have all these questions about the offensive linemen. Decastro comes along and is dealing with what he now says. We'll be another ankle surgery. He is not sure whether he'll continue his career. He says that he would be happy to hang it. Up if indeed. His ankle can't recovering time for the season. But this is certainly a situation facing this steelers team. That makes things even murkier now. We should point out. They did sign trai. Turner guard has some pro bowls. Resumes did miss nine games last year. But now this team will be with four new starters on the offensive line's important note though here that they struggled last year so perhaps they can just get better with a new group
Pittsburgh Steelers Release Six-Time Pro Bowl Offensive Guard David DeCastro
"The Steelers released six time Pro Bowl guard David DeCastro, according to ESPN. Steelers reporter Brooke Pryor. This is somewhat surprising. This was always going to be a rebuilding year, but it kind of felt like De Castro was anchoring this line at right guard with him gone, there's one returning starter and that's in troops of work for who is likely going to be moving from the right tackle to the left tackle spot. The Steelers are gonna have to figure out something there, whether it's signing Veteran right guard like a guy in trade Turner because, yes, they drafted a first round running back and now you hear us, He can create a lot. He cannot create all of his own holes.

"Haskins days in Washington time. How are we? Merry, Belated Christmas Happy Early, New Year has things Not too bad. It's enjoying some good weather outside with The ones trying to burn some calories and they're off week and There's some football on NFL action is getting close to playoff time and some ball games so No complaints in the NBA started. So Mabel Toe sit around and watch him. Watching sports would feel because you couldn't talk to you, too. Back in the air. You you basking in the cheese, it bull. At this moment, Nothing could be worse than that. She's a ball fears back at that game was one of the worst they think of all time, but Yeah, that that will not have a by the way who better Washington football team career, Haskins Or who said Oh, who sacked by Maya? I mean, not even close. Not did not did not get caught after going to a strip club. Scott, read me your your stat line today. I didn't know you were the record holder for completion percentage. NFL history. That's impressive stuff better than they. Yeah, and nobody has fewer yards. His NFL records two for two from minus two. That pretty amazing just to be clear when you say I did not get cut after going to the strip Club. Does that mean? Just just so we're clear I did not attend, Okay? And then did not get cut. As a result there, Enough. Yeah. Should've clarified s O. I want to talk some diners. Um, but obviously college football, your bread and butter. Um, Stanford football in particular. Drew Dahlman today announced that he will forgo his final season at Stanford head to the end of the NFL draft. This is not necessarily a big name because he's a center But he is one of the top lineman in the conference. One of the best centers where your top two or three really in the entire country, so I think he's gonna have a good pro career, but I want to direct you to. I know you can appreciate this on. Maybe you saw it on Stanford football Twitter, but a letter that Ah young Drew Dahlman wrote. 10 years ago called never too late to dream. When he says, My biggest dream is to become a college football player. Better yet at Stanford University, because that's my favorite team. This dream seems almost impossible, though. And you know what dreams came true. How about that Pretty cool story? That is awesome. Now he's a great kid and knowing his dad and also played and coached at Stanford and Crystal man, and you know he grew up here in Salinas in the Bay Area. Um, I don't want to a lot of Stanford games growing up. And, yeah, it's awesome to see a kid like that. Who worked hard. Think we all liked his technical skills when he came in and part of that incredible class with Terrell and Walker. Little and Roman didn't get as much pub, but I liked him. Kind of kind of a mean nasty guy. And then once that we all well, said once he fills out, he'll be really good. Sure enough two years later. He filled out and became a really good center at the mental side. The quick first step is tough has been around the game, his whole life his dad played in coach so I think a lot of things going for would be interesting to see kind of amazing. All the great Stanford alignment have come through in the last 15 years. It's a lot of them haven't worked out in the NFL for some reason, like David DeCastro by far the best career and if you guys like, you know Cam Fleming at a Lifelong career, but hundreds hundreds to andr speed. Yep, still still playing at a high level, But so many guys went when high in the draft and just ended up, not handing out you wonder if there's Stigma now taps with Stanford offensive lineman, But I like him. I think whoever drafts I'm gonna get a tough, smart kid and he's he's maintained it. One of the very few Stanford players do not get injured, which is an exclusive club. Yeah. S O. I like him. I'll be curious to see how he goes. Well, the other guy who man lost for Stanford, no doubt. No question, although one I imagine they probably saw it coming. Um, another loss for Stanford on Gwen that I think could have gone either way over the course of the season. But when a guy catches 16 balls for like 230 some odd yards in the last game of the season, maybe that tips the scales semi for cocoa will go pro as well. And again. Here's a guy who's like 23 years old. He went on a Mormon mission. He's married, right, so he's clearly Ready to move on to the next phase of his life. But how good a pro will send me for Ho, Coby and you know people are going to say Well, JJ are single white side hasn't worked out, but this is a different player in a faster player in Foca. Yeah, I think the one thing that are single white side. He was a big, strong player, right? I don't think anybody would say he was fast. They ran pretty well to combine. But he's not real good at getting in and out of brakes and speed cuts and things like that. He's just a big, strong receiver who can out jump out muscle defensive backs. Okay. I'm going back to that Colorado game last year, he caught and ran away from everybody. Much better in those speed routes. Um, can separate. We saw him go up and make some catches and traffic. But you're right, get the ball in his hands. He could make the first guy miss and he He's got a acceleration unlike our single white side, so I think he's gonna be again. It'll be interesting to see where he goes. But you're right. He's going out on a high note like the midst Comiskey, Mister Mister, like, Let's just go out and See what I can do it the next level. It is interesting, Though, Stanford losing a lot of guys and not leave Stanford early there, they would finish out there or five years on the farm. It seems like the last six or seven years of good news is means. Recruiting high level athletes but.

"But he is also the kind of guy and I hate to say this because I think he's a great kid and super talented is they could also one year B the 14 into team and he throws four picks in the championship game, and that's just the variance that comes with him. But in the NFL wher you just need a guy that is capable of winning you the Super Bowl. He is one of those guys. And I think that's what people need to realize is the most important attribute who is the better career just because they're in the same draft classes at Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson? If I was betting I would better, Lamar. Um And I think that I'm worried about both of them getting hurt. I think that Josh is a little bit more reckless than labarre. I think that Anybody that drafted Lamar Jax would be able to come in this. Lamar is not running as much this year. Um and I think that I used fantasy sometimes to go. That's interesting. He's staying in the pocket. More thinking 37 passes last game. Uh, Omar was not doing that He would really run for 15. And he'd throw for 25. But now he's like throwing for 37 running for five. And I think that it's I would definitely go Lamar mainly. Also, I think both are very well run franchises. I think that I would put hard ball a little bit ahead of McDermott. But I also just think that the system man, Dave all they're really both set up for success. I would go Lamar because I believe he's a little bit faster on I believe that he's ah, just a better athlete overall. Talking, Adam left. Go right now. In the Zach Gelb show who should be interested in love Ian Bell. Do you have a few teams in mind? The names that popped up to me. I think the Patriots are interesting because they collect two positions, running backs and linebackers because they know that as the year goes on, there's nutrition and sometimes you find a Kyle Van Noy or Corey Dillon. I would say Chicago is interesting to Rekha treat Cohen goes down. I don't think they really want Cordero Patterson to be the backup running back, and I think that that offense could make a lot of sense. I think India's interesting even though they do have a lot of guys already. I know they were interested in possible human free agency. I don't know how how bad her relationship is. But Pittsburgh needs him. I think that he would be a huge upgrade over Benny smell, and I think he'd be a really good one, too, with James Connor and he goes literally everything. So if it ended on bad terms, I don't know. Ah, and then you know, I can also see him if he wants to stay in New York. Maybe go to the giant. I think that you know, we've seen some flashes from Devonta Freeman, but it's really hasn't been anything special, and I think he's an upgrade on everybody else. They're so those would be sort of the five teams that jump out to me right away. The Pittsburgh one is fascinating just because of how ugly it did, and just they throw a little juice here into the rivalry, and I know the guys hurt right now with Nick Chubb. Wouldn't it be something if Cleveland signed love Ian Bell? Sure, I just I think if there's one franchise that doesn't want a new addition to mess up a year's worth of like jelling together like Cleveland, Cleveland is the reason that so many people bet against the Bucks this year where it's like, Oh, we had a new person in it ruins the flow. I would say this, though. Good. Levian now experienced Adam gays and the Steelers experienced Antonio Brown. And I would wonder if both parties had enough experiences with somebody that was worse them then then, their experience they think. Oh, you know what? Maybe it wasn't that bad. You know, you know what Levy on left, but you didn't do it. Antonio Brown did you know and and, oh, you know what they didn't really treat with respect. But like Tomlin's a lot better than Adam Gates. So maybe that you know when you're trying to win. Don't go anywhere. I'm more curious on the Pittsburgh side, though. And the real winner to me here is Mike Tomlin. Because no more Antonio Brown number Levy on Belle. Adam left Go. They're undefeated right now. It's They were so I before the season, predicted three FT. North team make the playoffs and so far that's looking pretty good on. I had them ranked Ravens Steelers in and Browns browns are like a 97 10 and 16 to me. The Steelers are like Well, they're on 11, 5, 12 and 14 and I, The defense is still kind of getting picked apart a little bit. They have these moments We fell in the Eagles game. We saw Houston when Shawn Watson was clicking. We even saw it when the first of the game of the year against Denver after Drew Locke went down. Jeff Driscoll had success. But I think that that gets fixed because I don't know, man. Don't you always feel like after six games in the Steelers settle into themselves? Nicole the pair it just it feels like what's about to come the offense. They got David DeCastro finally back, and he's one of them pulling guards in the NFL. And you look at the weapons chase. Claypool is the new Martavis Bryant. Chase Claypool is the new Plaxico Burress Chase. Claypool is the Super Athletic, Big wide receiver. That big band who throws an unbelievable de Paul. It's up there with Russell Wilson,.

"You won the rookie of the year You were a top five draft pick. I think it was third overall. Come in that draft with Andrew Luck. Or maybe the second overall, but whatever it was, and so I get the confidence, But, you know, I guess that's part of why he got to the success that he did. But after all the injuries that has transpired, I don't think you're going to be the face of the franchise for any team any time soon. I don't on Also when Teddy Bridgewater got hurt People probably didn't think after he was a backup in New York for like that all season and then got to the Saints. Probably no one ever thought he was going to make it back onto the field and And start five games with Saints last year, when all five games and then get a lucrative and I mean lucrative contract from the Carolina Panthers. And that 2012 draft It was luck one Griffin, too. You remember the third overall pick wasn't addressed. Cleveland, Trent Richardson. Oh, right. And then Trent Richardson got traded to the Colts for a first round pick. So you know Facebook has ah, the memories and it pops up like you said this eight years ago or something like that. A few a few days ago for a few weeks ago. I saw that that report. Trent Richardson getting traded to the cult of the first round pick, and I guess I tweeted about or not even tweeted about it. I Facebooked about it. I posted on Facebook. You say I Facebooked it? I don't know. You booked it. I booked it. I booked it. I thought booked it on the matchbook. I I I was actually a fan of that train. I thought it was a good trade by the Colts adds a freezing cold Take. I think everybody did. And then I remember. He had that great year with the Browns. You go to the Colts, like all they needed was a running back. And then it felt like you just never heard from helping an ever again. It was like unbelievably disappeared off Planet Earth. But you didn't hear from him again until what the a F or was that the XFL and I can't keep track of all the crappy football leagues that are around. The first five pics of that draft luck RG three. Trent Richardson, Mac Khalil Justin Blackmon, who went to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I'll give you the top 10 here. Morris Claiborne went to the Cowboys Bucks took Mark Barron out of Alabama. Dolphins Ryan Tannehill. Panthers Luc quickly and then guess who was the 10th overall pick Stefan Gilmore at the time to the Buffalo Bills. There's some some bad picks here, but then there's some really good picks. John Terry Paul into the chief's at 11 Fletcher Cox to the Eagles at 12. Michael Braugher's went to the Rams at 14 and Michael Floyd. Go to the Cardinals. He wasn't all that great preserve in Sao Player. Seattle the Jets remember the Jets took that year. Defensive end Oh, um, Quitting Copal. Right boy, Another disaster pick. Vernon Gholston quitting couples those of the Jets. Vernon was in that draft, but Dre Kirkpatrick to the Bangles at 70. I'll give the whole first round Melvin Ingraham 18 to the charges, say McClellan. 19 to the Bear's Kendall Wright to Tennessee Chandler Jones. Tremendous player could be a hall of Famer 21 to the Pats. Brandon weeded. Remember him 22 over all the old man quarterback from Oklahoma State. Riley Reiff went to Detroit. David DeCastro OK, went to the Steelers, Dante Hightower went to the Pats of 25 would be merciless went to the Texans at 26. Kevin's Eichler went to the Bangles of 27 Nick carried to the Packers a 28 Harrison Smith. Vikings of 29 a Jenkins to the 40 Niners..
Myles Garrett: The Interview, Response, and Fallout
"Last Thursday. I sat down with Browns Defensive End myles Garrett in Los Angeles one day after he was reinstated into the NFL. The interview which aired on outside. The lines was Garrett's first media parents since he was suspended by the League for swinging a helmet at steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph Rudolph initially declined to comment but after reaffirmed his claim that the quarterback called him a racial slur. Rudolph replied on twitter calling the accusation. One thousand percent false and a bold faced lie today more from our interview with Garrett including new details on who he says he told about his allegation that fateful night then Adam schefter joins the show to discuss the steelers response. And what this means for both players going forward. I mean a crime. It's Monday February Seventeenth. This is ESPN daily presented by. Adt Back to November fourteenth. You guys were up. Twenty one zero seven just seconds left in the game even suited for the first time and how long and that gets marred by idiotic play by me and a couple other guys on both teams. And there's a brawl going down inside the ten yard line and getting in there was myles Garrett and took the helmet off of Mason Rudolph along it and that David Decastro and Marquees pouncey came in and they started really laying in so it was myles. Garrett took the helmet off of Mason Rudolph and slammed him on the top of my head dunk. Oh boy miles. We're going to get one too. That'd be suspended. Oh my goodness wow luxury what happened. I mean come off the edge by ten years less than fifteen seconds. I remember that I didn't want to be on the field but now sits out there and They were throwing that ball cells going to make a play so he started the ball. He's always wanted to throw. I'm going no the administrators on. I'm not trying to do anything illegal. I should go to take them down. He says some worry that we're going down. And he ends up on top of me and he goes to twist my helmet off. So I ended up getting leveraging topping him. I grabbed his helmet and I'll start shaking them. Push them off me and I was shaking him. His helmet comes off and is now one of his offense lineman grass and I think the Castro and he's talking to me. Tell me it's cool. Notice let it go. No Senate game. It's all good. And as he's known walking me away on my left side base incomes. Run again now. He's yelling he's already kicked me to China. Twist my helmet off and made a mistake to defend myself but Day because it's left a situation entirely. There's no need for that. No no for that at all. Wow you're you're up by twenty one to seven and video that we were watching of myles Garrett taking the helmet off brutal peniche slamming him. Which pretty bad you've just described in great detail. It sounds like something you've thought about a lot a lot of time thinking about it now. Time thing about that reaction what my response should have been. 'cause I should've have and I usually have in that situation. Just wasn't there and not just reflect the myself and allowing myself to never know being the situation but if I am to to handle it better. What did he say to you? Call me the N. Word Kami a stupid and we're I don't like I don't say the N. word whether it's not a he are to me personally just shouldn't be said and whether it's known by family friends anyone and I don't WanNa use it because I don't want to find the appropriate around me for anyone to use. So when he said it kind of sparks something but I still tried to let it go still walk away once he came back. Kinda Kinda reignited this situation and now only have you know escalate things. No Pass what it needs to be no with a little time in the game left. Now you're now you're trying to know reengaged and start a fight again and no. It's definitely not entirely his fault. Stephanie both parties. Doing something that you shouldn't have been doing so. He denied that he said what you're alleging. And then after your initial appeal leaked out and you said I wish this didn't get out at all. My was because I didn't want to try to use it as justification for my actions because there is nothing to justify like there's there's nothing I can say or do to justify what I did on that day. I'm not saying there's no to justify than I didn't do anything wrong and I know what I know what happened. I know what I heard. People say things when they're heated aren't the full of emotion. I leave it on the feel.

"So he's acting irritating and everything, but the thing is is that guy gets opened especially on third down. He's tough to jam. He gets off the line quick. There's a lot of little things that go into play in the receiver position playing. Well, so I loved our -sego Whiteside mentioned, I think that guy is he actually might be in my opinion. One of the more. Underrated guys coming out period. I don't think enough people are talking about that, dude. But again, this all comes back to love. The Keenan Allen communist Allen is a smart player. Yeah. I mean, I I don't think that he's getting a lot of love because Stanford was a will Stanford's never sexy one. But to they were. But there are pro offense fair enough are now. But, but you know, this year they weren't good either in a bad packed while south. So it was hard to kinda to justify that. And they've kind of bending QB spiral zone since Andrew luck. So you know, they've had a guy to hear their Kevin HOGAN was solid. But they haven't had a real gotta spin the ball. And they've always had those tight ends that have kind of been their main receivers, and they run the heck out of the ball. But because of Bryce loves injury in not playing super well this year, they had to toss rock around a little bit more whites. I definitely benefited. You know, there's some good game film out of him there briefly. Like, a tight end you in their spill out some really good guys. Obviously Erz heads up that class. But even dudes who are a little bit more nondescript at the time like Levin to low low his his ended up having a really. Career. Awesome hooper. He stanford. Right. I think he is Stafford head a brand of many brain thing where I was like, I'm pretty sure I don't wanna put out bad, you know, non facts. But yeah, just throw an awesome Hooper was a steel for Atlanta in his I mean, there's another one coming out this year Kate Smith. And again, he's another guy that will probably be best case scenario late day to probably closer early day three. So, you know, if you believe in that Sanford tight end system of what he could be common a year or two maybe than he he's another guy that might be worth the investment. I like them. Stanford titans. Iowa will steal the on the tight end conversation this year. But yeah, I mean Stanford's just and Sanford for a while there. I was so interested in a lot of the offense lineman. They're spitting out. And unfortunately, a lot of those guys didn't work. Out. But some of the obviously David decastro did and in his head a great career with Pittsburgh is still just playing guard at a high high level outstanding. And then you had the the more unusual fits like when New Orleans drafted Andrews Pete enters speed has been pretty good for them outside of he was abysmal in that championship game. He just had a ton of penalties..

"And there's a lot of people that believe he's ready to be a starter on NFL team. And he's great inside death guy. Can you bring both of these players back? That is the question that I ask myself can you afford to give Ramon foster a reasonable deal that's gonna keep him in Pittsburgh, and key BJ Finney who let's be honest would be a starter on a lot of teams as of two thousand nineteen can you do it? If you can that's a heck of a deal because you're giving yourself death in the interior. We're talking center and guard and you're also getting a proven. Commodity and Ramon foster back now Ramon foster has his weaknesses. He's not as athletic as the rest of the lineman. But at the same time he is typically as stout as they come in both the run game and the pass blocking game. He's not your typical pooling guard David decastro, he so let it he gets around the edge even pouncey fosters not that type of guy which may be limits. You a little bit. I'm not going to give foster a deal that's anywhere near if it's three years that third year is basically a look we can cut you. And we're not gonna lose anything. Would you wouldn't go beyond that? What you Dave? I mean, what how old is he thirty one. I think it is thirty. He's on the wrong side of thirty. I'm pretty sure I mean, he's he might be more than that. 'cause they beast thirty one for some reason I'm thinking he's been around longer than he is keeping them. Both would be great. But it's also you gotta think realistically. And then you gotta think about who. You would rather have. Kind of makes me feel like munch aci- Seret where you're like if you're if you're if you keep the one, you're probably gonna lose the other. But if you lose the one, you gotta do everything you can to keep the other. So I don't know how it's going to play out. But if either one of them are gone, I wouldn't be shocked to see him in Denver. I agree with that. Now. So is that if you'll you'll get an inkling of this on on what the Steelers do by how they handle any because I think he's a guy they can lock up first. So they give Finney deal when he signs it. Then they're basically telling foster like, look, we'll wa- for you this. That's it. You know that that's our deal because we've we've already locked up the future so to speak if they give Finney a four year deal, which is not out of the realm of possbility. He's still very young. I wanna say it's only his third year in the league. So he's got a lot of years left. He doesn't have a lot of tread on those tire so to speak. So how the Steelers play their cards early in this new league years gonna show a lot in terms of how they're going to approach Ramon foster in free agency. But let's go to another player on the office of line who is still under contract, but could be released slash cut. I don't know if it'd be a post June first as. Nation rating like that that would be Marcus Gilbert Gilbert, as I said earlier has missed four games and he's played in the last two years. Whether it was the knee injury this year the suspension last year, he said other ailments that have kept him off the field. Dave, you're the general manager. Kevin colbert. What are you doing with Marcus Gilbert? Well, I don't like we said before it went on the air. I think there's hardly any dead money that goes along with him if you were to just release him outright. So you just gotta decide if you really wanna even pay him the money. You're gotta pay him to be there or just say, you know, what we have other options that are just as good less expensive. And we can go with it. About the time they cut Gilbert is when the is when you have a season where their offense of line goes down dude injury. It just seems like that's probably what's what is going to be. But I really don't see any reason to bring him back. It's just it's not that the Steelers really could use the money, but there's better ways to spend it than that..

"But at the same time, you still want someone that's going to be able to get garner their attention, keep their attention have respect. And I I would hope that the Steelers did that when they before they pulled the trigger on promoting him from assistant to you know, the offense of line coach the perfect person would be to talk to David decastro marquees fountains. Look guys on your thoughts. Here is this guy. Good enough to get the job done if they say, yes, you got my blessing. That's my theory. I think they did that the week before when there was a chance that muntjac was going to be of the head coach and Denver that had to be what what happened 'cause the plan was in place was it two hours after the report came on shack definitely was going to be the offense of line. Coach Denver that they announced the promotion of Seret. I mean, yeah, they knew what they were doing. They this was this was all planned out of Zach. What was going to happen? Yeah. So let's talk about that offense blindness. The preview show them. We're going to preview this offense group. You know, this is a strength of the of the Steelers team as as a whole especially for the offense. They they're coming off a very good season. Ben Rothlisberger was not sacked that much. I don't have the number in front of me. But they kept him clean for a good stretch of time. And I think about that six game winning streak that they had. And I wanna say there were games where it was a mystery games and told where they only given up one sack during that stretch is pretty amazing. And so you might have some turnover there now outside of munch. Heck, let's talk about some of that turnover. The the offensive line heading into two thousand eighteen obviously was all hundred on the waiver room. Ramon foster marquees pouncey, David decastro and Marcus Gilbert, very well-known very good been together for a long time. Might see some new faces. Now. So Ramone foster is said to be a free agent this season this off season, a Marcus Gilbert has missed more games. He's played in the last two years. So my question for you. Because everyone else is under contract Villanueva got his deal last year. Decastro got his two ago two years ago marquees pounds. He got his like, I think three or four he still under contract as well. So -mongst the starting five fosters a free agent in then there's this question Mark about Gilbert. Dave on asking you. Let's start with foster. I if you're the Steelers what are what is your approach to foster before heading into free agency. Do you try to get him locked up or how do you handle that? I saw report while you were on cleanup duty. And I was checking Twitter. Wait never start. I can't remember who it was from. But it was a report that that that that foster said that the Steelers of already told him that they would like to have him back. So we've already got that going. So they told him they want him back. I think they want him back at the right price. So I've heard you say several times, and I completely agree. You gotta get him back at the right price. You can tell him. This is what we would like to pay you. If you wanna go out and test the market and see if you can do better, we will allow you to do that. They can't tell them that they can't. But we understand if you want to do that. But maybe even say, hey. Let us know before you do anything else. I mean, I they don't have to say that. But I would I'd kinda like to have that agreement with him because he's a I mean, he's your he's your players association rep. Respect a guy in locker room. I think he's a good guy to have back. And I think they could really work together to see if they could make the best deal. It's gonna be interesting because if you look at the depth if you look at the fact that BJ Finney we talked about this right before we went on the air is believed to be an unrestricted free agent as well..

"I'll swap before fair enough. I tried to bring items that people might have tucked away in their house. So they, you know with the government shutdown people might need extra money. So. Yeah. You know? It's funny. You say that this is the thing it is they're having garage sales to pay their bills. Now, a lot of new EBay resellers. So yeah. So I brought her a bunch of GIF view master reels. And some of these in a packet with the little booklet can get upwards of forty fifty dollars. I have a fear that are thirty five twenty three. Yeah. Yeah. You click on me invested in my right about this. They sold for less than a book a probably back in the day dollar dollar fifty per, you know, some of the fifty late. Fifties were probably less centered our favorite things when I got new view master was the internet, go crazy. Yeah. And of course, it covered everything from pop culture to just agriculture and landscape and. Which ones are you looking at the Flintstones. You've got the man from UNC Ellie stops man from uncle. Alex. Shorter time does. So's waxworks London. How much are they? Camp and Pinocchio the Flintstones open the highest one there is a man from uncle is thirty five dollars. That's what's best for you. It is open. Solo remember Steve? Oh, totally. Yeah. Oh, wow. The viewfinder. I didn't bring one. So we gotta look. Sorta CSI. Fred and Wilma are in the Flintstone run. I'm looking I seldom in live right hand that over here is honesty. If it's worth a subbranch there. If that's not worth a sub. I do have old concert tickets that kiss at the old stadium. This is going to blow your mind, so. The seats and they should fetch about three hundred dollars three hundred dollars for tickets. Good question. Six three hundred bucks. Stops rock concert stubs. Like, if you have a Beatles. One from the sixties that could be our two three thousand dollars. I am not kidding. I just looked know. So people come here house in you go look what I have framed. Yep. I was there. I mean, they were there some people like in were there. I don't understand your kiss collectors will want every ticket from as many as they can get 'cause they wanna complete like, okay. I was on the fence for the Flintstones. It's now I can't do it. I can't you still don't have the miracle. Why at metro that's going forward? Yeah. Always great to Chicago Stadium. It is eighteen hundred west Madison. To have that. That's where and oddly enough. How about Tiffany at the mall? Those tickets. The mall. Probably. Yes. If there were taking the these view master things they say on here for stereo viewing. So stereo viewing means three day amazing viewing viewing meant both both anchors. Both I o both. I. Yeah. Nine hundred seventy two hundred on the phone or by tax. What else have you? Why did bring in just for grandma? Six Lupu post nineteen Ninety-six actually a calendar. Poster. I was on the loop of six, and I'm not in the post devastate David decastro said, hey, we're not shooting a poster today, so feel free not to come in you shot the shot, and they like we need one person out of the show. Crop. It was too big for the I will tell you. We've got Johnny B. We've got a bunch of Kevin Matthews Bonnici is on here..

"Back what kind of deal are you offering him? This is a guy of thirty two. He might be. I don't know that for sure he's still he's an aging linemen. The one thing about foster for me is that he is always seems to be the guy that he's just not the athletic one. Even Villanueva's very athletic and now filers will different but markets Gilbert was athletic. We know David decastro athletic pounds. He's probably one of the most athletic centers in the National Football League. And so he's okay. We'll what do we want to do here? My prediction, and I wrote this in an article today is at the Steelers are going to. Really give him an offer. They'll probably say, look, you know, we don't expect an answer right away. Go and check free agency to get a better offer. We don't have we understand. This is our best offer that we can give you I would say as they maybe three year deal, but it's more like a two year deal. I think he does well for his physical capabilities. He's a big guy. He is certainly someone that can run block. Well, who will forget the the pancake of CJ Moseley a couple years ago against Baltimore at Heinz field. That's probably one of those highlight. Ramon foster plays there for I I just think that he's very serviceable. But the question I always ask is is he replaceable because David decastro, I guys not replaceable. I I'm not saying he's a generational talent. But you're not bringing up a BJ Finney and thinking he can do the job. Now, you do think that was Ramon foster at least I do that. Yeah. You bring a BJ Finney. He can get the job done. He can do what he does. He's actually more. I've let it than foster. So what foster might have from a mental standpoint fan. Vinnie might have more in terms of physicality. He's more of a road grader and things of that nature. You go to Villanueva Ozzy. What I thought he had a tremendous year there were there were a lot of people at the end of two thousand seventeen saying he's the weak link and when they saw chew Chor forget drafted they thought this guy's gonna push Alejandro Villanueva because villain wave didn't play. Well, when in reality I've been away too had a great bounceback season that no one is talking about I thought he'd protected well thought he run blocked. Well, I thought that he had a great great year. And it was great to see because the Steelers invested some money into him prior to two thousand seventeen it was good to see that kind of be paid back. On the football field. So as a lot of people in here talking about Ramon foster, they people want him back..
