Take a look at this. I crossed the line. That i had never crossed. Are we talking about heroin. Are we doing the show. You at birth gun. Yeah snaps would. Cfc is she alive. People are gas bigger auction levels. Were dangerously low us. Oh you mean she to make it will watch all of her black. Come outisde party into a machine. She's like i can't. I can't see see him. I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that had five ten more minutes. Demi lovato dancing with the devil. Premieres march twenty third on youtube. I have to ask you guys. Do you think it's dangerous for demi to relive these moments are do you think it's kinda you know cathartic for somebody to go and relive this in front of the camera. I y- to be honest. It depends on the person you know. Somebody is ready to address that and they've worked through their trauma and they've done what they need to do to get them to a place where they can talk about it without feeling that poll. I think it's i think it's a great thing and also What did we hear that. She did it because she wanted to be held accountable by everybody. Who who saw it and knew everybody's been following her journey for so long. So i think i think she seems like she's in a really great place and that she has just really grown in her own and we all are on journeys so to allow her to do this. It's not my place to tell her how to share her story her story you. Can you stop someone who is at the top of their game. You know you're an artist you know When you're so high up on your game and you wanna do what you wanna do. Who is the person i think about. Amy winehouse materials you okay. It's time to stop. It's a mighty who's not on the payroll. That's the problem when you have your. And i hate to say this because i don't know what was going on behind behind the scenes but i see this a lot of times when parents are on the payroll our family members on the payroll the line between me being the manager in me being a mother. A father sister brother kinda sorta gets blurred. You don't want to stop the cash. But i will say and i know this from watching this preview. Is that an from my own life. Addicts are master. Magicians david copperfield. So when they want to hide something from you know how to do and she just explained in that in the longer preview that she's the master of hiding manipulation so a lot of times you don't know how bad it is because that person is gene races but you'd think that they can handle it also. I had a friend in the music industry. That was doing some things. And i didn't know how to stop him. I'm not on the payroll but you can say you would have to lock the person up. You would have to take them and take their hands and put them away. Yeah it to make them stop so it's a very difficult search. You and i are friends now. I'm going to be honest in the height of celebrity when when things were happening. When i wasn't on this show my fear would be if i call you out about something and tell other people that your career would be doom guilty for you know things leaking out and people finding out about your situation and how it can affect your bag and i know it's not about money but at the end of the day your careers your livelihood. So i did. I would be afraid to be careful when you can't want something more for somebody than they want it for themselves so if somebody wants to get better they're gonna they're going to get better and then you can just support them through it and you still get to support them in the ways that you can't but i wouldn't know how to think she's she's saying i mean she says she can't really seek Dr because affected her vision. She has brain damage. You think about this when you really look at it. You say you know what i was. I was skateboarding. And i broke my leg. Some people will go back to escape. You know what. I'm just happy that she feels like she is ready to share

The personal history of David Copperfield is based on the dickens work that is a Large, you know, 700 page story that hasn't been done as a film in a while because it tends to lend itself more to TV and sort of a serial type television since it did. Originally appears a cereal and it's It's quite long and has a lot of characters. I've been overall It's a charming little film. It's got a pretty good cast, and they put things together in a somewhat light hearted fun way. If you are a fan of David Copperfield. If you're a fan of Dickens, you'll probably enjoy it. Although you do have to recognize the will and do make some changes they have to just in order to cram That much story into two hours. He eventually becomes an author with a right turn out to be the hero of my story. Or that station will be held by anybody else. These moments must show. Recently Dead Patel join me via. skype to talk about his role as David Copperfield. I totally missed out on this classic growing up and I was sort of one of those kids that was false fed dickens as a child. In the curriculum and I I mean assist the shame most office I think. But you know for me in particular to be able to step into the shoes I related a lot to David. I think you know to his anxiety to his kind of imposter syndrome about a young man's johnny trying to fit in very much coming of age story and it's only when he can embrace his real truth and his past his own stories I guess that he finds triumph, and in this case, it says a great writer you know. I WANNA play a scene from the film Here your character David Meets Dora played by more fit Carter a young woman whose pet dog JIP starts a conversation with David. Let's listen speaks very well is actually I like to pretend he speaks. Some people think tick. Oh No I do it myself all the time? I I. Poultry. David Copperfield. Being the tree. I'm Dora. Okay. Perhaps, it's not surprising that spoiler alert the two of you fall in love and as we hear you as David have a lot of humor and charm in this film I WanNa ask you a little bit more about the parts of the character that really resonated with you. You said that this character was very much like you thinking about finding your way through life. Yeah I mean he's obviously You can see painfully awkward. And I definitely could key into that I mentioned. But yeah, I guess as a boy growing up in the UK you know from an immigrant family going to school and trying to figure out what part of my identity I should lead you know like. You know there's a kind of very much in Indian. Part of me in a very much a British part of me and you kind of end up role swapping to try and get through turbulent times in school. And that's kind of David he he someone that came from great wealth than lost only tried to get it back again NEC's constantly trying to change the skinny as quite a comedian in that makes him a great novelist. He's this observer that. Uses these his. Ability to impressions to kind of get these easy Lawson get in with the cool guys and not me when I was a kid I was quite the gesture in Mike's loss. Yeah. I mean what else you can do its? Own Life and I like the idea of a series of. Tasks except myself completely unnecessary toss that nobody. Has To care about Oh but I sent them a series of books in my mind and then when they're done. I'll be done. I think everyone does that with their life is writing a very. Kind of formal way to do it I can measure out his this way. So. Do you set day go? Goals no because if I did would be very frustrated. So no but I have hopes if every day but I haven't written in months and months at the moment. I'm reading I'M IN A. Like period of reading and preparing but Preparing to start another one. Yeah. But it's much more important for me to be able to read every day them right every day I live without writing if I don't get to read I get very. antsy. Really. Yeah. Use the bedtime reading with the children as surreptitious. Research, they don't realize it but. The reason we're reading David Copperfield. They need to know that. What are you love so much about reading. I. I really good book recently gyco fronts this with a British writer. WHO said? The Roman Catholic Priest Held Hostage in Lebanon
"This is our final episode on Father Lawrence. Martin Janko a Catholic priest taken hostage by a Lebanese terrorist organization. Last week we examined the curious. Mix Up that led to Father Chen Coz capture sure we also followed the trajectory of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah and they're extremist co founder. Imad Mugniyah this week. We'll delve into the wretched. Living conditions and abuse Father Janko experienced in captivity will also follow his family's campaign for his release and the multiple to free Father Janko and other US hostages in Lebanon late January nineteen eighty five. Fifty year-old Father Janko was chained to a radiator in the dirty kitchen of an apartment overlooking overlooking Lebanon's because valley on his lap lay an abridged version of David Copperfield. That one of his guards had given him. He must have read it ten times. Already with the glasses he'd had in his pocket when he was captured reaching beneath his sweater he pulled out a raw potato and nibbled nibbled off a piece he placed it near the small hole where his friends family of ants. Were busy foraging. Father Janko envied their freedom freedom. He had been in this filthy kitchen for nearly a month and he still didn't know why nevertheless he had adapted to a little routine meals. Sales were three times a day. Lebanese bread rice fava beans and the occasional vegetable. He was also given one daily trip to the toilet for a while. This visit to the bathroom included a hot shower. Then the boiler in the basement exploded. It had been weeks since he had felt. It's even remotely clean or warm the radiator. He was chained to didn't work and at night. His guards had pile blankets on top of him to keep him from freezing being the end. He was still experiencing occasional tightness around his heart the day before his capture Father Janko had visited a doctor for tests he tried not to dwell. On what the results might have been especially since his father had died at age fifty three from heart attack his two guards. Guards provided occasional distractions during the long days. They were gentle towards father. Janko calling him a Buna the Arabic word for our father father if he was lucky they would strike up a small conversation in broken English. One Guard told a story of his sister visiting a restaurant in Switzerland island not knowing a common word for chicken she had to act it out. The guard burst into laughter and Father Janko couldn't help but chuckle. To one of the men occasionally brought Father Janko a small bag of cookies from his wife. The other gave him Muslim prayer beads to add to the Catholic Rosary. He'd made out of potato sack strings. These small relationships brought a mild sense of comfort to Father Janko during his seemingly endless days but he was otherwise alone. Most of the long quiet hours were passed by praying with his rosary although he had other more devious ways of passing the time every every so often soldiers would bring fresh food like mutton potatoes and tomatoes to the apartment. Father Janko found chances to sneak pieces of food food off the kitchen counter. He would hide them in his close to snack on between meals or to share with the family of ants. Uh One afternoon. In February Father Janko spied a jeep coming over the hill. He grabbed the sweater. He used as a blindfold. A car meant visitors and he was expected to wear a blindfold anytime someone new entered the apartment a few minutes later a strange man strode into the kitchen. Hitchin through the loose. We've his blindfold father. Janko could detect has dark eyebrows a bushy beard and a strong frame. UNBEKNOWNST to him him this was very man who had ordered his kidnapping. The Stranger crouched in front Father Janko and began to speak an interpreter behind him. Said my name is had Rodwin. Conversation was brief had Radwan did not explain y Father Janko had been kidnapped. He simply told him that he would be going home soon. Father Djenka would hear that word. Many times is over. The next eighteen months he would eventually come to mistrust it but for now he clung to this scrap of hope it would be many a years before he or anyone outside of Hezbollah would realize that had Radwan was a pseudonym the man standing before Father Janko was Imad odd move Nia the founder of Hezbollah Hezbollah was Lebanese. Shia extremist group funded by Shia revolutionaries and Iran and the group took root in the months following. Israel's nineteen eighty-two invasion of Lebanon their main goal was to drive Israel and its western Western allies out of Lebanon and to establish a pro Islamic government in the capital city of Beirut at the time of Father Jean Coz kidnapping Hezbollah was still an underground militia who outwardly call themselves Islamic Jihad which means holy war in in December of Nineteen eighty-three. Imad Mughniyah had helped orchestrate the Hezbollah bombing six locations and Kuwait City including the US embassy in the aftermath. Seventeen Shia radicals were captured by the Kuwaiti government. One of them was a mods best friend and brother-in-law Mustafa Body in retaliation for Mustafa's capture Imad had ordered the kidnapping of several. US citizens in Beirut route. He hoped that President Ronald Reagan would pressure the Kuwaiti government to release their seventeen prisoners. But the Reagan administration at least at that point had a staunch policy against negotiating with terrorists to do so would only incite more acts of terrorism in the midst of this impasse. Father Other Janko had been abducted. His was the fifth of eight American kidnappings connected to Hezbollah although one prisoner Jerry. Levin would escape on Valentine's Day February fourteenth nineteen eighty five that morning father Jenkins Guards burst into his his room panicked. They ordered him to put on his blindfold as they unfathomable chains in his haste. Father Janko didn't think to grab his glasses or his rosary. They let him down the hall and into another room of the apartment through his blindfold. He could see a rope. made a bed sheets dangling from a small window high up on the wall. "And from what I've heard the whole thing is this he agreed to let them use it if they referred to him in some way. And so that's that's where you get that line that he was, you know, Samir referring to himself as some kind of evil. David Copperfield where I can't remember the exact verbiage. But. And there's so many cute little in another cute little thing that I had to I had to actually pas the the the stream and see is that what I really saw. "I was sitting in a C one thirty facing back evasion backwards backwards. And and you who else was on the flight with me with Steven Forbes. Oh, and that would have been the worst thing. I would've nothing buddy. Who had nothing about me. Nothing Steven Forbes dead. You always thinking about that. When you're on a plane, right? They use a Jew comedian to try to staunch later. Okay. What? So the death star is a huge sphere. And. And. We looks like a half a planet is that what I'm looking at the things they hadn't finished building this one versus the first one. We saw was completed. So it was fear. Right. This one's going to be a sphere. It was going to be again way bigger apparently. So I was just going to ask from a spacecraft point of view, would we build something like that? And what would be the benefits to doing? So well things in space becomes circle because of self gravity. So that is, you know, if if something isn't big enough, if you're an asteroid or a little comment your chips like potato basically some random, but as you get bigger and bigger than as you're pulling in every direction, more or less, you have enough pulling. You whatever you're made out of you, basically force it into a sphere. So that's why planets are spherical sorry. Flatter every other planet. Still holding out. Hole. I was in my favorite, David Copperfield. But in this case, that's literally the strangest thing to say that they would build a Mr. because they have artificial gravity. So they can build it in any shape that want they want an have people walking. However, they want on it. So the gravity of the thing actually may be something that they have to fight against because as they put all of that mass together their structure as you can see it's like girders and so on not solid. So those girders have to be really tough to resist the self gravity of all of that material. They're putting together. So I had a feeling it was like counter intuitive to build a huge Feerick spaceship. But I I'm I'm not sure it's entirely counterintuitive, but I I certainly didn't come up with something obvious that is you build it only to the level of what you need you can it can be any shape. It doesn't have. Yeah. And that's one of the things stores that very well. It was more or less sort of pioneered originally by the the enterprise on started could because it doesn't have a plane like or a rocket like shape. It was this weird disc. And then these cubes and then yeah. Vulcan? Was this weird thing which the cockpit only on way on one side and the extra fighters sort of looked like planes, but then some of the other spaceships don't look like anything. But why does it have to be circle? It's not really obvious to me. Why it had to be spiritually just needed to be a giant gun that needed was firing on things? And then you know, crew coder crew's quarters. Yeah. And it's also protected in this film by a shield from from N doors moon shields in your now. Oh. Oh. Definitely get them. No, no. You got that? Right. What is it like a musical group way back? Magic group from the seventies. Shielding your now, see it's it's people are learning from this podcast, but not just science. References does exactly right. And now they can research. What the hell's Andy talking about? Why did you like that? Does he like that farnsworth's I really need to cut back? References. So my question, I guess there is well first of all I thought it was funny that they don't say the name of the moon. They just say end doors moon. Forest moon of under indicate that there's like the desert Muna vendor. The mountainous Muna vendor. So I thought that was a little bit strange because they kept kind of almost dancing around. What the hell is places calls because it looks like people live there. Fucking name place. So call it something you call everything else. Some crazy call it something. And then I was curious about yet. Just this this shield that's being powered by this huge generator. That's protecting this thing..
