"The best thing we can do to protect our children is to get vaccinated ourselves We as the adult population should all be getting vaccinated so that we can protect those among us who are not able to children and the immune compromised if we're living in a community where nearly all the adults are vaccinated the infection rate is going to be much lower as a result of children will be less likely to become ill That's the most important thing we can really can and should be doing And then they talked again about in person learning this fall she said when there are a number of ways we can try to protect children from COVID still helping ensure they can return to school One is for older students who are eligible to get their shots If you have someone 12 or older get them vaccinated yesterday And then he said if all the teachers and all the older school students are vaccinated you don't need masks and distancing to present anymore Particularly in communities where the transmission rate is low however she said many communities are not going to risk it It probably prudent for masks And more importantly testing to be present too I mean John is just it's so it's just endlessly if you're eating to me that we have this miracle thing and all we have to do is use it right And you know what the worst thing liberals can do is take this Darwinian approach of this is all explained with natural selection If you're going to be the good guys we can't be rooting for the dumb mean people to just get sick and die off We have to fight for the people who are afraid of us We have to be obamas on this And fight for the racist fight for their kids too I would say having a child who's under 12 and not eligible yet I'm still enjoying the fact that I can get out of any kids party I want to because of everything I was invited to take the child to David buster's arcade today that lovely place but a bit of observing bucket when it comes to saliva hands and plastic things It is pleasure to still have a bit of coronavirus to let me say no to things Since I can't turn down people's podcasts or stand up shows anymore I plan to a packed house in red village last night for the first time But I'm with you I mean children are spreading and we just it's not over yet And we want the let's go looking like first world Americans if we act too much like it is over when I'm afraid we're going to have a disaster in the fall with kids going back to school Adults not enough adults being vaccinated then kids are going to get it and spread it and it's going to be another disaster Joplin Missouri's hospital closed down their COVID ward in March This week they had to reopen it It's exploding in southeast white white white Missouri Again the same people who were preaching herd immunity last year are why we want to achieve herd immunity this year but let's not because he's going to Missouri to see his family Give yourself an hand sanitizer But at least Trump was president we know he'd be calling the delta variant the Hindu virus So we have that type of work He'd be deflecting any way he could Yeah speaking of religious conversions Eric tweets doctors gave Trump a dizzying array of emergency medicines to save his life from antibodies to dexamethasone after his blood oxygen dropped to 93% dipping to 80% at one point They hoped he would get serious about COVID-19 He did not That's in the new book that they thought he would have a religious conversion And of course he didn't Of course he was the same as he went in the hospital And Trump was like you know in every high risk factor for COVID I mean he's old He's obese Oh there's no way he would have survived if he wasn't president and they didn't go to school because he's broke And he's a person of color He was in every major risk group for COVID All right I love you John beagle saying I will talk to you next time not next week week after you'll be here next week with this Thank you Carolina last week Go have a good time Oh yeah All right Love you Goodbye Bye bye guys 50.

I truly i bet people are going to love to hear about like how like. Oh i was in pure isolation this whole time and it didn't make me insane like okay. Maybe that is a good way to hit on somebody. So i've been alone for months. And t he i'm still norma. I feel like somebody would fully be turned off from the. I don't know if you're normal over. Copy you're not. Well you're sick probably. That was bad advice from me for this for all that stuff. I was actually orbiting space x ship. And i gained back. What happened back here. i'm agean do you think there's anyone who has gone somewhere and like miss the pandemic like do you think. There's like some buddhist monks somewhere on a retreat have been there for a year got to. I heard somebody woke up from a coma like a few months ago. Imagine that so while to like maybe like a car accident you know god bless and then wake up and be like we so there's a virus you mean i can't go to dave and buster's keep we. I wanna go to david buster. That's how i got my accident. I was all my dave and buster's driving too fast. I really hope dave. And buster's survives the pan demi because what a treat to go to dave and buster's as an adult very hammered and play games. Oh yeah see. That's solves my chucky cheese issue of the same reason that can't go to sonic alone. You see you give me a childrens children things in adult situations that that can't sound right. If you get me rephrase that things don't situation that's where you're going. What was that movie that garden so much trouble. Oh it was like a french movie which movie that how. God what are we doing. This is problematic. Al's little girls or is it like girls. Lena donohoe this one was. But i fully remember it and i remember being like oh. I'm scandalized when i was like. Maybe you show watch it all just like read a headline and we're like oh that's terrible cook basic. Did you read the fucking article. Do you even know what it's about right. Exactly the whole point of the headline is to make you look at it. Yeah notice twitter. Has that new feature where it's like. Do you want to read this article before you re tweet it a lot of times. I'll just write. I read something that. I haven't read up like i did it read this. I'm not doing the research wild and then people in the comments will be like. I read it. Here's what i've gotten so lazy as long as someone does. The work is a community. I mean it's a miracle through acting school because that's like all you have to do the work yourself you can't be like jenn learn my monologue for me and she's gonna do it. Did you go to acting school. I did. I dropped out of acting school. Actually oh acting skew drop down. Where did you drop out wayne state university in detroit all right but i started working at second city in detroit and it was really hard to do. Both and i was kind of being pressured I was doing. I was doing other plays outside of school and i was going to being pressured about my time committal and so finally i was like all right well. I'll just kind of work than it is funny when schools like either devote more time to school or go make money. I think i think i'll take the money. I'll work a work and mike. I'm in the door already and also you're making me pay you to do this Yeah when i went to acting school. They the really edition encouraged the operative encourage. They really do not audition like you're not done with your training and i kept in the back of my brain is like but what if you book something play. Who cares if you're done with your training. Something also like auditioning is its own training like you. I wish so and had told me that. I mean auditions are different than a table. Read that is different than the job. It's so wild it's wild. I hate them. But i still but i do. Learn from them is the most raw nerve. You can never be yes. I do not like auditions. Auditions are like. Do you like me way. Read this part yes. I'll take that nope. But that's not how i prepared it. Not how i saw the character. I'm sure i've been pretty locked in how i imagined it. Sometimes they get a note. And i'm like no i can't let these people know they've thrown into a tailspin incorporate. This this is nothing like i practiced. Oh there's nothing worse than that after a re it'd be like i'm sorry about that. No it's okay. it's not no the fact they even said. I'm sorry about that. Made it not okay. Even here this is a four. Just the they left engines on fire. Lemme just land this plane. Get outta here. i had one audition. It was like a pretty gruff mom. I don't really come off as gruff me. And it was like a comedy so i was like. This is a lot of work for the funny that like. I don't think this is me and then midway through. I just went. I'm sorry. she's just so mean and laughed and was like well. Let's tweak in a very long time trying to make this like my own and then by the end because it was like honey. I don't know if you're good for this and i was like. I don't think i will kudos that. Casting director was like well. Let's let's let's see there's something here you know. I feel like there's only three levels to them ones. That are not helpful. Who are just like okay. Thank you and you're like well. Was it anywhere close to what you want. A middling one who's like i don't know yeah we will send we'll send it and you're like okay. Don't hurt yourself pressing enter. And then there's the one that's like let's work. I'm i'm tired of casting this part. Let's like really get you a good tape. So i don't have to see anybody else. Yes those are the three. There's nobody in the middle and those three don't exist in commercials commercial. All just like nope your trash get out do believe you stupid. Get out yeah commercials. For whatever reason they're very short but everyone is so mean and everyone wants exactly what they want and they're like we will not use our imaginations and then they're like sometimes i'll be like improvise and then you'll see the commercial like why no i'm not a genius but i said that maybe someone else like i said it and you laughed real hard and now it's in your commercial that i'm not in the problem that i would have a lot not district commercials but i was auditioning for a lot of things when i was the second city in chicago and before i moved out to la. I would put myself on paper auditions pilot season so And there would be times when i get call backs. And then in the callback. I would see in the script things that i'd improvise renowned the script and then it would be like all right. Well we're going to audition again. I'm like are you just trying to milk me for funny lines. You know and it happened so many times my age all right. Well we gotta move to la because nobody. Oh okay when the local higher like did i write your script for you. Yeah that's like really fucking shitty. It really is so much and then it's like you don't get a writing credit. You don't get the job and it's just like you used my jokes through the process. It's it's a it's an interesting business to be in. It really is because it's not like you just kind of like something offhand. That i was like. Oh what an interesting thing. You know what this is a human saying. He just said it no. I was doing a joke. Within the context of the script was i was writing for myself. And that and you use it for this thing that you're making money on the person you cast is making money on the network is making money on. And i'm just like having sent in a tape and i'm just trying to work things out..

"Seattle. Right now it's 46 Come on news time. 607 Last year's NFL season played in empty stadiums taught one Seattle Seahawk, a few things about gratitude and about being a professional. We learned more from his story, and here's Cuomo's Corwin Hate. The National Football League has already announced this fall of plans to again play with fans in the stands. Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett tells me he never griped about last year's unusual conditions. Sometimes we don't really realize how good God it until we don't have it anymore. And we almost didn't even have a football season. He says. The empty stadiums helped define the differences in how certain players get motivated. You had none of that stuff that was gonna get your adrenaline pumping or anything like that. Could you still be able to perform at the highest level? And I think that's what everybody got to see is without any fans. Players still are performing at the highest level. Some people perform even better without fans, reflecting on the pandemic has led locket to join a program sponsored by micro band Most Valuable Protectors, workers who kept essential businesses covert safe lock. It is honoring a Seattle area Safeway employees Wayne Fisher or being able to protect us in every customer that comes in Because cleaning and sanitizing is important, and sometimes we forget about that until we're putting a pandemic where everybody has to quarantine. Tyler congratulated Wayne via Zoom and is treating him to a Seahawks game this fall at a presumably packed Blumenfield. Corwin Hate Co Moh news and more covert vaccination sites are offering incentives as a way to encourage people to get the shots from gift cards to discounts on food more from Kemal's Steve McCarron's. It wasn't the free gift card that drew Bob Geren to this vaccination set in Auburn, but he could definitely understand how 10 bucks to David Busters could sweeten the deal. Americans respond to incentives. Morning. More sites are offering them is vaccination rates start to slow. It's getting in the way of not having had the vaccine sweet alchemy, one of two businesses giving a discount to those who roll up their sleeves and a mobile clinic in Seattle's You district vaccination. I feel like a stone the answers to try to get us back to normal. Um, I'm all for it. Let's see. It says Expect the trend to continue. The idea is I didn't twofold. One is It might be that motivation for someone to get back. So he did, coupled with It's good business, but some are not too enthusiastic about the practice. Leo Morales tells me incentives may not be effective in changing people's minds. If they're set against getting vaccinated. Another is they may backfire. So, um, you know, he if you offer incentives to get vaccinated people who are hesitant, maybe suspicious like, why are they paying me to do something? That's good for me anyway, Morales says communication and messaging or key and reaching more people. The Asia Pacific Cultural Center into coma started offering $25 gift cards to Fred Meyer is a way to get more people to its clinics. Center's executive director tells me it is too soon to know if they'll actually work. We have a little money to do it, and so we way started to do it. So why not if it works, and maybe other organizations going through the same thing? Come on here to members of Rose City and TIFA, who admit engaging in damaging and destruction in Portland over the year last year, sat down with a B C's Nightline this week to defend their tactics get more live from Kemal's Carleen Johnson. Well, their faces are not shown, and they don't give their names nor admit to recent threats against Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, but they defend the year of violence and destruction downtown. One of the reasons that people will break windows is a lot of times like symbolic of the way that the city will protect. Tom Butler Come on, come on His time now is 6 12. Seattle City Council members and homeless outreach providers are now questioning the mayor's strategy on clearing out homeless camps. Five camps in city parks have been cleared since December. Then we get more from Kemal's met mark of its city crews clear what was left of a homeless camp that had existed for more than a year at Albert Davis Park, the city, citing safety concerns. Shooting a recent propane tank explosion and fire, But it wasn't the city's hope team that made that decision. The hope team replaced the navigation team that used to order cleanups. It was the parks Department. Over the last four months, five camps in city parks have been cleared. The city Council members and homeless outreach providers say they want to know who's making that decision. What's the criteria? We want to know? How are those sites being prioritized? What is their model for selecting them? What and what are the criteria that they're using? In a virtual council meeting where no one turned their cameras on During the discussion? Those questions were asked of the mayor's point person. On homelessness. She said she didn't know but the actual discernment process I can't. I truly don't know It isn't that I can't answer it is that I truly do not know, she said. Individual departments like the Parks Department are making up their own criteria. We also ask the mayor's office. What is the criteria for these recent camp removals? In our city department. Deciding which camps to remove. The mayor's office has yet to get back to US. And council members were upset that the Seattle Public Utilities Department was given $100,000.6 months ago to install some form of ST Sync for people to wash their hands. But still there's nothing to show for it. The speed at which we need to get these sinks stood up cannot be under scored. Brother. The city has kept water faucets turned off because they can't meet the CDC guidelines to keep the faucets sanitized during a pandemic. Now there's a shit. "Yeah, I I question the motives underneath the the gaps that it is underneath. So, you know, it's a nice environment for an animal cuz after a long day of swimming in a circle, it could observe people drinking orange julius, right? Who does birth? See what's happening at the David Busters later in the day. It's a very stimulating and when you think about it, yeah, there's a tunnel you can go through at the at the Mall of America and then and then the fish and the and the Animals they're they have sharks they come and then they they go over the hump and I'm coming right at you. So it's I mean, it's pretty cool, but it can't be a good life. But I do wonder about like the Monterey one where I know that I know that the part of their thing is to stop the extinction of these animals. So, yeah, it's it's it's something that I've pondered this entire ethical quandary. I've pondered it my entire life as an animal lover girl like and as someone that wants to see animals do I go to a zoo to see it? Like is it an ethical do is it ethical is any Zoo. Ethical like because these animals are existing for 2 a.m. Entertainment, so ultimately that's not ethical but also like it's part of conservation to have to trap an animal and show it to children. I don't know why. Well, it's sort of pays for itself. Yeah, you know, but the the the the heart behind it is to make sure that that there's still another kind of that animal, you know for like an elephant in a zoo. Hopefully, there's like thirty in the wild. I don't know. Right right and I will say that That I did go to the Wildlife Park in San Diego once and that was amazing. Now. It felt like it was big enough. And there were fences in between like where the lions are being kept and where the zebras are being kept which felt rude cuz they were next to each other. That's horrible except for the fact that cuz they feed them they don't have to hunt the zebra's yeah, it's still like if you put me in a cage next to a cage full of all of my ex-boyfriend's emotionally speaking and they're all just telling me why they don't love me. So I have seen orcas in the wild and this was one of the coolest things I've ever met. We went on a boat. It was like there were two they were there were two sections on the boat. You can go upstairs and downstairs. Okay. Well, I'm guessing sixty feet long and It was on the coast between Washington and Vancouver, BC. Okay, and on this trip, by the way, right behind me right behind my curly hair is a painting. I did of humpback. Whales. Oh, very nice..

"It's all about the opportunity for these nonprofits to collaborate with one another and one of the things that we've done to increase the impact of some of our great organizations who are serving youth of Children. Is we've added some common spaces in the building that could serve as incentive to bring more kids to the space so that we could help funnel the kids into the other great opportunities that exist Most recently we took an old locker room and we turned it into the best life you describe is to say it's a It's a totally free David Buster. It's this amazing arcade with all the coolest games of the kids asked for which are all from like the nineties, by the way, so I think they googled him because I don't think they grew up with street fighter NBA Jay but anyway, and we put in a sound like a Pac man. There is her. Well, there's a four player, Pac man where the Pac Man's can eat each other. Larry, you gotta come over. We could say that we can consider this work related, because absolutely at all times that of the best shit, right? Right? It does. Basically the kids can play an arcade as long as they're involved in after school programming, So it's totally free. But you got to be involved in the program and you gotta be consistent. Another thing we put in Is a totally free laundry mat, and this one was a real surprise to me. I learned a year ago that at the time the number one reason kids were turned from school in Detroit is because of lack of access to the ability to wash their clothes. And so we responded to bad thanks to some funding for the Jewish funds, and we put in our free laundry mat. We also took the swimming pool, which we tried to give away to several organizations for free, but no one wanted it because it cost a quarter billion dollars years that we build it in with concrete. Turned it into this after school tutoring space. Because the demand for tutoring and mentorship is so high even higher than what we've been able tormund it with our great tenants who are here and so we're all working collaboratively and really excited about the latest greatest that we've been able to do here to the space. Yeah, it's awesome, and I can't wait to get back there and then develop our growing relationship with first tea as well. And so I know you well enough to know that you're many things all good, by the way, and you're an entrepreneur. You have a great vision. And so what are you looking forward to is? It relates to life remodeled in the future and 2021 beyond so what's on the horizon? Well, as we talked about earlier, you've seen quite an evolution organization's strategy. Our mission has remained the same. We exist. The bridge people across device to help transform each other's last. We believe all this division were experiencing around race. Religion, politics, socio economic differences. Division is keeping us from being who were meant to be a human's. We're better together and so everything that we do is about that. Now that said, I believe after 10 years we've discovered our niche in terms of our strategy. And our programs of our six day project, our home repairs those air here to stay. And so is this program of acquiring a vacant school building Repurpose ng and turning it into this one stop shop of opportunity. And it's incredibly socially impactful in its financially self sustainable because once we pay for it with the renovations, it pays for itself through the presence of our tenants, which we charge them under market value to be here and were able to do that because of the philanthropic dollars through construction and were convinced this model needs to be replicated. This model needs to exist in several neighborhoods in the city of Detroit, and so for us, that's about a 5 to 7 year come in that per community. Right now. We're trying to figure out where we're going to go next, and we only want to go where we where we're wanted to be in a community that says we need this. We want this. We want to partner with life for model. And and then it's a mutually beneficial relationship. Right? We're learning the community. The community is gaining additional resources and opportunities, so we haven't solidified 100% where we're gonna be yet, But I will be very transparent with everyone in that our number. One candidate is Cooley High School. That's where we want to be. And we're in the process of the service discerning if that is the perfect fit. But but that's why I hope everything ends up going next. Excellent. And Cooley is, I think, just from what I know it's about three times the size of dirty that right? Let's see a 321,000 square feet compared to dirty 143,000 square feet and sitting on 18 acres compared to Dorothy's eight and it's been vacant self. It is in almost critical condition. It needs to be renovated soon or that building will be unreachable. And so is the project. We're trying to figure out over the next few months. If it's a go or no go All right. So, uh, well, I hope it's a go because I want to be involved from the Children's Foundation and several different ways. And if people haven't seen these schools there, unbelievable. Architecturally. They're like little castles. Almost and so they need to be renovated, and they need to know. I have a rebirth and you're doing that, so hopefully that'll happen. I just want to say when I tell people we rehab schools. Typically, they think about these boring, ugly jail looking buildings that we often build today. But I say the best way to look at his think about Harry Potter school. That's what these schools look like. "It's just not connected to those things. And I wanted to be I've learned that and I think the best way of describing his. I'm seeking for a way to describe you here this afternoon as I was. I was meeting with my pastor a few years ago and And I was talking about some of the silly things that I worry about, and he kind of chuckled at me as he should have in my maturity in life. And he said, You know, winter some of the things that you're aspiring to just don't matter, And he wasn't suggesting that they don't have significance. And there's something wrong with people being accomplished. He wasn't suggesting that But he did tell me, he said, Look out my window and I looked out his window. I don't lean a little bit. I'm looking out his window and I see a dumpster. But it's a dumpster for donations. But this this Dumpster was sitting there and he said, See, that's where everybody stuff goes. In the end. So it goes in there. To see how that stuff isn't really important. You know, I thought of Mom and Dad and I thought of the transformation that they went to into focusing What's the most important but see once we know what's important. That's just one part of it. You know the when, when the person was telling what she was telling me freedom and untethered that didn't mean that she knew how to live it out. It means that she was feeling how she wanted to feel. And so once we set our sights on freedom and independent in time freedom and we're focused on what's most important to us. The next step is we have to know how to do it. We have to know how to implement It doesn't just take a good idea. It takes a profound implementation. Put those two things together and you have a life fulfilled, so I want to pivot. I want to pivot to how do we implement No, we haven't met. And I'm gonna I'm gonna tell this story. We're gonna get to the other side of the break. I know I'm running out of time in this segment, but we're gonna continue this, but I want you to think about during the break. Dave and Buster's David Buster, So I took my kids to Dave and Buster's several years ago, and if you're not familiar, it's this big arcade man for kids and adults. That's my best way of describing it. We go to Dave and Buster's, They have hundreds of games. Hundreds of games. Little overwhelming. My kids start playing games. And guess what tickets come out of the games. Just little take it to come out. I've no idea what therefore, we had no idea. They come out and Camden was playing a game like the price is right wheel and he spends this thing around and it lands on 1000 tickets. And if you've never been to David Busters Or or someplace like that. I can tell you $1000 is a lot. It's so much the sirens go off employees for David Busters. Come over there jumping up and down. Everybody celebrating. It takes a good 3 to 5 minutes for 1000 tickets to even come out of the machine. It's nuts. He had this popcorn holder like a popcorn box holder that full is overflowing. And guess what? Guess what Candid did after he won 1000 tickets. He did not leave that game. Right, and that's what we do. That's what we do is that if we find a way to accumulate tickets, and it's comfortable, and it feels good, even though there are hundreds of games available, you stick with that game, and my oldest son, Braxton did the same thing. He found three or four games where he was getting the most tickets. Right, and he started accumulating those tickets. He started accumulating those tickets. Just like anybody that started their first job starts accumulating their nest egg. They get those tickets. They get a match, maybe from the employer. They start saving into the T Spn before one. Can they start building those tickets? Maybe you're not situation and you're done building the tickets, and you want to know what it means. You want to know how you're going to confer what you've accumulated into retirement. Give my team a call. 3018500 63. We're gonna build your retirement income plan 3018500 63, But on the other side the break we're going to talk about How David Buster's in the experience, I just started describing fits with what you're going through right.
