And as we learn more and more about this hugely unfortunate, just devastating situation in Tennessee, I think we need to be very clear on something. Violence is absolutely positively unacceptable, regardless of what someone thinks of a transgender or not. The kind of rhetoric that we are now seeing from this community is directed at anyone who maybe isn't fully tolerant of them that somehow. This is antifa like stuff. Somehow violence is the answer. It's an important time, and there's a lot of stuff going on. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the reparations. Situation yet. Apparently 5 million bucks per person is not going to quite do it. So I want to start first on this Fox News poll that just came out showing Donald Trump 30 points ahead of Ron DeSantis Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida being considered as the biggest potential competitor. But it's not looking like it now. 54% to 24%. You know, a lot of this is because of the simple reason that it looks like Bragg is still trying to come forward with charges against the former president indicted him arrest him. And you know, that just as I told you, just doesn't play. Well with the public, the thinking is that this is an extremely thin thin case and really shouldn't be brought, and thus it's being done for political reasons and political reasons only. Well, that's the kind of thing that plays directly into American spheres. Americans are always worried that the establishment, so to speak, is working against the average person, and in this case they're going to say, wait a second, that's not fair. Why would you do that that feels very banana republic like? We don't want to be like that. America doesn't want to be like that. And consequently, you're seeing a huge uptick in Donald Trump's poll numbers, 54% now to Ron DeSantis 24% last month that was 43% Trump, 28%, desantis, so he really is pulling ahead. I've said all along, I really do think that Ron DeSantis, while he may have a ton of potential, long-term in the party, he really kind of needs to find his footing. He needs to find out who he is, not be a carbon copy, not be a Donald Trump two, but be his own person. And what Donald Trump had going for him in 2016? I think still has going for him in so many ways is that he understands some of the economic policy, some of the foreign policy that's really and truly going to matter to the country, and he came at things from a very different perspective. I suspect Ron DeSantis in his own way does as well only in that the guys are pretty educated guy, you know, Yale Harvard, the whole 9 yards, but none of that's really coming through. And so he's kind of zoned in and honed in on all these social issues that have been popular with the Donald Trump base, but he's not doing anything to create his own Ron DeSantis base. So I suspect as we get closer and closer to 24, he's going to look entirely different and will either rise to the occasion and figure out who he is, or he's really going to start to suffer. Again, 54% to 24%. So Donald Trump really way out in front in the lead right now, including in the RealClearPolitics poll just to look through some of the other candidates, Mike Pence, looking at 6% Liz Cheney who has an announced shit around 3% Nikki Haley at 3% Nikki Haley, maybe trying to campaign for that VP spot to Donald Trump, should he get the nomination, but just an interesting poll to tell you about and certainly verifies what I think so many of us really did think and the brag indictment if it comes forward and that's a big if at this point because I think it's adding up to, hey, we don't have much of a case here. We'll only solidify Donald Trump's position within the party and actually has a lot of crossover potential for people that maybe didn't like them and now say, well, wait a second..

Democrats are used to seeing from republican campaigns of late. How do they achieve their goal while bryan. We'll point out You know the people in the country who think that republicans are the best messengers. Campaigners of all time tend to be democrats democrats. Have the white house the house and the senate so let's not get too much credit But listen you have to zero in on a pandemic and make them pay for the malpractice. Many of them showed. You've got a really lift up what's happening in the infrastructure. Bill assuming that passes the recovery act. The child care tax credit You can with data these days. You know a lot about these voters. And that's not just to persuade swing voters. It's very important that we have third straight cycle. Democrats get good enough. Turn out a to win And understand every district in state has its nuances but i think this this notion that the republicans can get great turnout again is also a question. And that's where i think. Trump basically the atmosphere. At i think a lot of voters particularly his stalwart bands. May say why bother tim miller. Let's talk about mitch mcconnell and a broad question to you one i pretty much know you think about on regular occasion and that is where did this. Nihilism come from Take the case of mitch. Mcconnell a guy who is a complete product of the system. Where did it come from that. He now is okay. Burning the system now. The situation nihilism brennan is is a feature not a bug from its mcconnell at. I don't think that this came naturally from him out of birth. If it came from the fact that this is what republican voters want from him that he realized that he could be nyla stick and get what he and still get what he wanted. Which is power for power's sake if you if you to roll back the clock. Uh to the merrick garland debate the fact that mitch mcconnell got away with that and was able to essentially steal a supreme court seat demonstrated to him that he that he suffers. No political penalty for acts like this and the only way to get mitch. Mcconnell to change his actions is to ensure that he suffers a political penalty. And i think that you saw him change only temporarily but somewhat after the loss in georgia to speaking out against donald trump because he was upset the donald trump cost him political power. And i think. Joe biden and the sec or successful at making mitch. Mcconnell pay politically for shutting down the government or threatening to shut down the government. Then he would back off if he doesn't feel he's gonna pay a political penalty for it and he certainly is not within the republican base. Who just exists to want to cause pain to joe by that. Want to cause pain to chuck schumer then Hill back so the only way to get him to back off. The republican base wants this. If they're demanding the nihilism is to create enough noise in enough signal to turn independent voters and others Against the actions of the republicans and due to turn their numbers down in the pulse they head towards the mid terms. They don't have the manpower to enforce this. They don't have the manpower for compliance. Don't have the manpower for inspection. They don't have the manpower fort. And there aren't enough supplies out there for unvaccinated people to get tested and it takes a while for the test unless you do the rapid test and then it's still could take up fifteen minutes or longer. It is very very difficult to administer this to implement this. There's no i it's an open question as to whether or not it's constitutional an odd arguably is really not constitutional. But everybody's focused on it everybody's at each other's throat everybody's complaining about everybody's arguing about it you you've got left out there. Bullying people on the right demand. You better take this vaccine or else you've got people in the media Out there really out to shame those who do not do it. I did not play the audio. Here is don lemon yesterday. On cnn editor dave today on cnn. And so i think we have to stop coddling people when it comes to this and the vaccine. Oh you can't shame them. You can't call them stupid. You can't call them. I worry that that the republican party becoming sort of the the grand ole pandemic party now by embracing the pandemic is sort of dan. The consequences of the health problems. David bluff. We're all gonna pay a price for it by the way With additional healthcare costs and things like maths mandates and private-sector vaccine mandates. But the politics of this to puzzling so listen let's look iran to santa's he's kind of the new thing for twenty twenty four. Maybe he runs. And maybe he'll run for president and say i defied asked mandates i think donald trump won the election. I wasn't sure the vaccines really worked. and he win the primary. But two-thirds of the country. I guess is by the end of the year will be north of seventy seventy five percent of people are vaccinated. They want this pandemic to be over. So yeah the tragedy is in most places around the world. They look at this and they can't imagine what's happening here in america. We have more vaccines than we need. And we can't get people to take them and in most of the world You know they'd all sign up to take vaccines tomorrow they could so it's a tragedy. This is a this was. This is extending. The pandemic is a man made disaster by certain republican politicians. Who wanna beat their chest in the cause of freedom but it's killing. Our economy is killing people. Listen to iceland mississippi. I believe that was pearl valley. Central high school. Forty percent of their students are now in quarantine. They're going back to virtual. This is going to happen all over the southern states. Unfortunately we know what's going to happen. It's happening in slow motion unfortunately and mark. It's a perverse business. But perhaps the clearest way to say it is this you've got state and local officials who are defined their governors in order to save lives in their states. Well they're defying a gar- because they're their i were business is to do the job. They were hired to do which is to protect health and education of their constituencies and the governors are asking them to to defy their mission their fundamental mission which is to educate children and keep our keep patients safe. And the governor's asked him to do that. so i i understand why they're defying the orders and i suspect and again it's it's so hypocritical. Republicans to say we're gonna you weren't a mandate this. They're mandating for their mandating. What you can or can't do. They're the ones mandating right And again it's it's so opposite of what the general of republican approaches to governing which is local allow local control.
