You prepare for the worst and react to the rest. So there's been music at practice and noise and that kind of stuff. They've been working with it, so they're they're doing their due diligence in that regard, but as far as that type of heat, I don't think there's any really getting ready for it. Of course, physically, you can hydrate and that makes a difference. But other than that, I mean, a player individually. Just got to suck it up. I mean, you're going to get hot and you're going to get tired now, if you get to the point where you can't function effectively. Well, then you've got to raise your hand and get yourself out of there because you're not doing your team any good. But really, it's one of those things that will test you touched you big time and and taking way back when when I used to play in early season games in Tampa, I mean, they would test you and But you guys got to steel yourself that this is not going to be a fun day. And it may be a rewarding day if you play well and win it, but it's not going to be a fun day as far as dealing with the elements. Larry, Let's talk about the offensive line here. Pretty well or even better than pretty well during the preseason, But the regular season is a different deal. I think the Packers are very fortunate. To have a player like Elton Jenkins, who you can plug and play at left tackle the most important and difficult position in the Packers offensive line or any team's offensive line. You can just stick him in there. And watching Elton over the past couple years. I mean, that young fellow might be a Pro Bowl type player at any position along the offensive line, So that's a great place to start when you talk about dealing with the absence of David Bachtiar e. But the young guys, the game will be a little faster. They'll be a little more pressure. Aaron Rodgers. Oh will be a little more likely to take you to task. If you do something. Let's say not so bright, But those guys held up well, and that's all we can go by. So far. They're talented. They held up well during the preseason. Very bizarre, so I would pick Ohio State in the points in that one, because I just you know, I knew that with NFL games to whenever you see a West Coast team playing a noon game on the East Coast They always seem to come out sluggish for some reason, So that's that's I think the reason they may have kicked back to kick off for this badger game by 48 at Wtmj is.

"Finally, the NFL is back. We got college football back over the weekend, really? They need rushed to cook. I mean, that's I mean, that's something nobody's really talking about it. We're all assuming Aaron Rodgers is gonna be an M V p candidate for the next three years. Um, you know if I just want to hear your opinion, I mean, Greg, if he does regress, he's regressing from 48 touchdowns, the five interceptions, So if those numbers do even go down, and he throws 34 touchdowns. And maybe the interceptions go up in seven interceptions. Gonna be tough to find a quarterback that has better statistics than that. There's not going to be a laundry list. So regression for Aaron Rodgers is not like a regression for an average quarterback where that it becomes a problem. He'll still play well as long as he's healthy for the foreseeable future, which is about three more years. And then when he gets the 40 could be a different conversation. I've been thinking about taking the bucks all week all week long. Uh, I typically in games like this. No, The quarterbacks are the focal point in all this. I just can't get past all those injuries. On the, uh on the Kansas City. Side of the ball in the trenches. Watching what Tampa Bay was able to do against Aaron Rodgers last week with David Bachtiar e out. I just feel like there's too much Firepower in that Tampa Bay front seven to be able to get at Patrick Mahomes enough to win the football game again. I don't think they're gonna shut down the Kansas City offense. I do think there's enough of an Achilles heel there, though, to get stops in the red Zone turn sevens into threes. May be forced to turn over here and there. That's really all you're asking Todd Bowles and the Tampa Bay defense to do you're not asking them to hold them to 21 points or 23 points, and Steve Physic predicted earlier on this show. That's what Kansas City would score. He thinks it's Tampa Bay is gonna win 32 23. You're just trying to steal a few possessions. This is an offense that has scored. On a ridiculous number of ridiculous percentage of their possessions over the last two games. I've had one point over the last couple games, and that was early in the Buffalo game. Where Tyree killed. You just catches a ball, then they're probably kicking a field goal. He dropped a 40 yard bomb downfield. So I don't know that there's a defense out there right now. That completely slows down Kansas City. They just have too much firepower, but I think there's enough there with Tampa Bay. To be able to force a turnover force. I thought that was interesting about yesterday's game is that you know Aaron Jones, relatively quiet. 11 carries 42 yards, 3.8 yard average Davante Adams relatively quiet, They got him going a little bit in the fourth quarter, six catches, 46 yards and a touchdown. I mean, that's usually a quarter for Davante Adams. But the Bears did a good job with him in the Packers had to go elsewhere and they were able to do that, and I think that's the beauty of this football team. You know, everybody was concerned is Aaron Rodgers have enough weapons? Well, when you know Dominic Daphne caught a touchdown pass, Hey, was the 13th player to score a touchdown for Green Bay? That's incredible when you think about it, So I think really Yesterday's game in a nutshell, showed the versatility of offense that they have and the people they have running it and You know, it's also interesting when you look at this game, and the Bears held the football 11 minutes longer than the backers did. That's what championship teams do. It's not that they blow everybody out from the word go. They get into these dogfights, especially against the divisional opponent like Chicago. This defense is good enough that we've seen it. There's more energy on that side of the football the last few weeks and that's what they'll need carrying forward. Guys, do you realize how long we've been talking about? Let's talk about Myles Garrett and Mason Rudolph Shelley because here's a fun little element that's been added to the game. It turns out that Myles Garrett. Is going to be Cleveland's team captain. He's going to go out to midfield. You will be a part of the coin toss. For the game this weekend against the Steelers. So, of course Myles Garrett, representing the Browns as they go against Mason Fruit off it's just It's hysterical, and it's one of those things you love to see. And for a couple of reasons, I mean one. It's a great move Beiste of fancy. Apparently, the background of this was basically The fans get had conversations with Myles Garrett earlier in the year. Gary thought he might be the guy that was gonna be the team captain in a game against Dallas. That didn't happen, so they asked him what game he would want. He had picked this game week. 17. They thought they'd be competitive anyway. And so is the fans. He goes. Yeah, let's go. We'll give you that game, and he wanted to trust his guy and let him be a face of the team and a big moment. And now you get this hilarious coincidence to go with it as he's just supporting his Young leader on the franchise that he's representing the TV this game against my Mason Rudolph, which obviously the whole relationship is hilarious because Miles Garrett And for some people I had to just blow steam about nobody caring about offensive lineman and how that bothers me. I Myles Garrett is most notably known. Recently. For ripping the helmet off of Mason Rudolph's head and trying to beat him with it. So That's his reputation right now. But here's the thing. Miles Garrett as much is that something that's really stuck with him, and I'll admit that I've talked about it A good deal. The guy's an amazing player. Let's not forget how good of a player Myles Garrett is and for what he represents. It's not just the face of the Cleveland Browns as a guy that's a number one overall pick. That has lived up to the hype and the expectation, but he's becoming a face of the league. I mean, if we're talking about this guy, by the way, hard knocks notable personality on hard knocks, writing poetry and stuff. He's just an interesting dude. So you've got this really fascinating young guy with the status of the number one overall pick got this ugly incident attached to him, But he's a Walter Payton, man of the year if he's somebody that represents the turnaround of the Cleveland Browns. You're gonna be hearing a lot about Myles Garrett. So little things like this, giving him a spotlight in a game that matters immense live. This has to be one of the most important games of the Cleveland Browns have had since they returned as a franchise like this game is a huge deal. And so for Garrett tol that little nod there. It's a nice thing for the Browns for the league for Garrett. I just love seeing that move. So anyway, a 55 to 1 to 4 to 27. That's how he joined the show. Go to Dave in Florida. And they put all offensive lineman on the map back in the day, and everybody should love so I'm just gonna hang up and let you talk about that. Because that was days I grew up there. Yeah, we were the hog. But, Dave, I appreciate it. But That was the eighties. That's what point that's like, I'm glad because I remember like, I'm not gonna say I remember Rusk Rim, but I've heard a lot about Russ Grimm over the years because he was a part of the hogs. This iconic group of linemen, but How many iconic groups of linemen are there? How many exists for all of these great offenses that we've labeled over the years, right? Like how many times we've been like, Oh, this elite unit of offensive linemen that was so good that everybody knew about them and they had a nickname. It doesn't happen. Their offensive lineman. People just aren't interested. Unless you're holding the football and actually scoring touchdowns or getting sacks. Nobody cares. It's just Oh, these guys didn't blow the game. That's why you'll never see because here's the thing I feel for offensive linemen, because think about the work that you have to do. You're doing a job that is the most physical job in the most physical sport. You have to fight people. Every single down with major consequences If you get beat, your quarterback is going to get killed. If you're the guy that leads to your quarterback getting killed. Nobody is going to like you. Right, right. That is a bad spot to be. If you don't get rewarded much you don't get praised much. It's mostly negativity. So I feel for those guys to see a guy like David Bachtiar e. Go down for the year, and everyone just kind of shrugs at it. It's like that's sad man. It's It's a sad state of things for the sport. When you've got a guy that's this high profile, and people just don't seem to really be interested. I don't know how many people know who he is. "He's never really been any good. But enough people know who he is. You can think of wide receivers like Cole Beasley, I would say enough People know who called Beasley is and could say a little bit of something about the kind of player he is. Mm. Does anybody really care about offensive lineman? It doesn't feel like it. And to me, that's a shame. You know, I don't have conversations is a guy who loves football and loves talking about I mean for me a lot of relationships, for example, with cousins of mine go into family parties and things. That's really all we talk about. And like, I remember being a kid I'd get in the car and we'd be leaving. Like the Christmas Party or something. Maybe, like S O. You know what your cousin Tyler up to? I'd be like, I don't know, but Washington really stinks. This year. We talked a lot about that Z all we talked about, but for his obsessed as I am about football, I just don't see anything. About offensive lineman. I feel like the loss of David Bachtiar E. And what That means for the Packers is a big deal. I don't know if that's really appreciate it, and so do people really appreciate me. Do you think the average fan actually appreciates the impact of offensive linemen in football games? Do they actually watch a game and go? You know, like the offensive line one this one for the team today or the right guard played an absolutely exceptional game. I feel like when you watch a lot of this stuff, you watch pre game or you read articles. Blog's Whatever. When you go through different stuff you might see some people would say Hey, as we're figuring out the matchups here. And you're trying to do. Okay. Well, let's go. Five matchups to watch for the game you might come up with all right. This right Guard versus Aaron Donald or something like that. But After the game. How much does that actually get mentioned? I feel like it's usually people that are digging to get that match up in the first place. Well, especially when it's Aaron Donald. I mean, it's a little bit easier. But there's a lot of digging. That goes to get to that point anyway. And then after the game, the analysis is almost never about the offensive line. When we talk about offensive lines, it's always like Well, the offensive line play well, yeah, they did. But let me tell you about our average quarterback allowed an average game was any amazing? That's it just seems to be the conversational lot. Offensive lineman to me, our holy underappreciated And why is that right? I mean, you could point to a lot of different stuff, I guess, And that's the unfortunate thing here. You think about offensive lineman. They're all grouped together, right? It's five guys standing in a straight line. When you're watching on television. You hardly see their numbers. You don't see the names. You know They're not getting talked about all that much. And that's a shame because you don't get a good look at what these guys are really capable of. In the highlights. Sure there might be times and some analysts are better at this than others where during the game will say Wow, look at this center who made a pull block, and here he is, he's getting to the next level. He's bouncing off a couple of guys and it in two or three players as he's going down the sideline and creating this massive space. I mean, what a play that happens once in a while, but Generally it's like Wow, Look at this running back. Go for three yards. Well, what about the block? What about the right guard and the job that he does? What about the right tackle The combo block. I don't know. It just it feels like offensive linemen are so underappreciated here about guys like David Bachtiar from time to time. Get injured, and there might be a whisper here and there, but it doesn't seem to be the same level of mourning that like when it comes to a skill position player Even outside of quarterback. It just feels like in terms of all the position groups that you look at Offensive line is at the bottom of the list. People aren't all that interested and we're talking about David Bachtiar E. Who, again? He's four straight years of being all pro. All pro. He's not. He's not Pro Bowl. Pro Bowl was whatever you know, cares about the Pro Bowl. It doesn't mean that much anymore. But this guy's all pro and people just go yon yon. It's gonna be on Aaron Rodgers that Z just how it's just that's how the game is played. That's how everybody looks at this. And so it's just so weird to me, too. Look it off a major offensive lineman like this get injured, and it just feels almost like it didn't happen. And again. I don't mean to disrespect the guy. It's kind of my point that he's being disrespected. I mean, honestly, off the top of your head, who are the best five left tackles in the NFL. We got Right. You probably stumbled a little bit there. I mean, next. Theodore is producing the show. Nick, give me the five best right guards in the NFL right now, who you got? You got me. Yeah, it's just I don't have an answer either, And that's the weird thing about this. Like I love the NFL and I pick up certain names. If you tell me about certain players, like I know about Mitchell Schwartz in the great things that he's done. In Kansas City, but I can't name a whole bunch of guys off the top of my head. And it's weird because football coverage is so prevalent. I mean, think of the number of blog's and podcasts and like major networks and things. There's so much that's dedicated the football, but a lot of the coverage is the same. Mean, Where do you go to find offensive lineman Scouting. Does anybody do that? Is anybody interested in doing that? Could you actually make money doing it? If you ran a website that your whole focus like if you did a podcast. It was strictly talking about offensive line. How does it do is that the interest like a kid gets out of college? He goes. I want to talk about offensive lines exclusively. I don't think so. Haven't heard about it and seen it. I know some guys that are pro do like light clips of different players, different offensive guards and whatnot. They'll show you a little YouTube video or they'll put it on Twitter something but I mean how many people like How many people actually give offensive lineman the respect that they deserved. They get enough appreciation when we talk about the game because it seems clear to me that they don't when you see a guy like David Bachtiar e who goes down and just like what else happened today? Well, Paschal, Seattle got benched. Okay, well, that's more interesting. You know, it's just it feels like those guys are wholly underappreciated. And when you think about that, it's just such a shame. And how much better would football be if if offensive linemen were actually understood? If people knew they were it? Wouldn't that make the sport better? It's not like these guys were all boring personalities. These are big, lively guys. You know, there's enough offensive lineman like one of them, a guy that was in the NFL for a number of years. He's been out league for a few now, but one of my favorite NFL personalities. Evan Mathis. Evan Mathis was a really interesting fun guy. And I don't know if anybody knows he exists, but he wanted couples or you want a Super Bowl in Denver, like does anybody know Evan Mathis is I don't know. And and and it's a shame, you know, That's what I'm talking about. Think of the number of average white I don't mean average, absolutely average wide receivers and running backs. Over the years, you could bring up an average wide receiver from 2002. And almost everybody knows who you're talking about. So let's say, for example, as a team as a key. Do you remember who as a team is? If you were a football fan in the early 2000, you might be like, Yeah, I remember as a kid. He was the speedy guy that was with the Rams for a couple of years.
