"Being aware of it, that's important. So the monthly, then the Sunday, you've got to win your mornings again and bring in tension for I think two things every day. If we can bring intention for two things every day, we win that day. To me, the first one is I'm going to bring the joy to this day. I'm going to choose my attitude. I'm going to develop a mindset that is unshakable that is joyful that is I'm going to be in every room. It doesn't matter if I'm the loudest, I'm going to be trying to be the most generous and grateful person in that room. I'm just going to bring good energy. Be responsible for the energy you are projecting on to others and into this world. So I think for me, that intention of, I have an attention to have joy each day. I'm going to have some fun. I'm going to make that happen because sometimes life doesn't do it for you. They just hasn't. So I'm going to bring the joy. So that's an intention. So what I'm saying is the third discipline is every day. You have intentions for feeling life. Yeah. For me, feeling life means bring the joy, that's number one. I'm going to bring the joy. And number two, I'm going to make a moment with somebody. Maybe I send them an audio, maybe it's the way I look at my wife. Maybe it's the thing I call up my mom and or I sense a beautiful appreciation email or text to somebody. But every day, I'm gonna bring the joy of the day and I'm going to make a moment because at the end of your life, I learned this face my death twice in my life. You remember these moments and scenes with other people? It's so important to realize that. And so you have to ask, are you going to have enough of those moments and scenes? Are they going to be at the end of your life? It's true. If it's true, you see a movie. What are the scenes of that movie going to be? You get to direct that. And I promise the scenes in the movie almost always have these beautiful connections with others. It's like most people don't realize the ending movie of their life. Is love scenes and connection scenes with other people, whereas like these meaningful moments if you will. Let's just call them meaningful moments. That's what you see at the end. Meaningful moments. So if that is true, if it's true, then you have to purposely structure and build in meaningful moments. So you love the movie at the end. You know? You love the movie that you want to watch the movie again that you appreciate that you're gonna bust out the good wine and have that good fun. With that meaningful movie. And so every day, now that's mine. I'm gonna bring joy to this day and I'm gonna make moments. Yeah, that's so good. You might have different intentions. Maybe your intention is like, I'm gonna do this thing as a mom or as a leader or as a doesn't matter me, but if you don't have the intention, the days just plays by nothing, you could be working hard. You can get your schedule down. You can have your calendar prioritize with all the tabs and all the different marker colors and everything else. But if there's no intention for feeling this way, you were a good robot today. But you did. We all had days like that where we feel like a human doing, right? Not a human being. That's so good. Brendan. That's so good. And a moment, a meaningful moment can be different for every single person, but how many days do we go through and we forget? And I'm meaningful moments free. You know what I mean? And it's like, how many days do we forget to do that? That's so powerful. I love that. I love that. You have. So to me, that's funny that the discipline is to have the intention, right? Yeah. Every day when you have the intention or every moment or every experience when you have the intention, it turns out better like this morning we talked about Jamie and I before we started. "Dot HTM This is not Monday morning Quarterback on WTMJ. This was perfectly for myself in pretty good position, but at the end of the day, I know it's a numbers game. And I could play like absolute crap. And they need me And I'm gonna 53 before I can play really well, and they don't need minimum practice spot. So I kind of ditched that might settle a few years ago, and it will. We'll see what happens. But I'm excited with how I played and And obviously, there's still more room. The girl. We should have had Kurt Benkert say Happy birthday. How about this? We're gonna do something different because it's a preseason game. We all We all will get to the serious stuff once the regular season started. Brian de Carol Kane Yours truly Dorothy Meyer 99 years old biggest fan of the show. That's fantastic that cool when when this kind of came down the pike and you were sharing it with me. I was just like God Bless her, You know, honest to God. She loves your show. That's fantastic. She's 99. You know, Should we be so lucky? Right? Lincoln High School graduate, three sons. Seven grandchildren. 10 great grandchildren worked at the Wh Brady Company. A lot of people work there. She loves watching and listening to all the books. Brewers Packers games, Um She's something that hangs is hanging in there. And that's that's cool. 99 years old today. Happy Birthday, Dorothy? Yes. Happy birthday. Happy happy I'd sing. But that is absolutely no present for you, Brian. Here's a good voice. You Steve, Steve's a good singer. Do you have a nice voice, Do you? I'm not ashamed. Voice I've been told. I have a good radio voice. You have a great radio voice. Probably not going to be singing into this might be fun anytime soon. I used to sing to my kids until they finally said to me by Johnson. Mom, please. She goes, Mom, Please don't. So I was like, Okay, I guess I'm not singing my wife. Kathy has does not have a good voice. She tries this thing, but it's just what it sounds okay in my head. Well, everybody has that. You know, everybody thinks they can sing like Debra wants the auditions for American Idol. It's like they all think they can sing right were so talented. They get up just like whoever told you you could sing. And why would you go on TV and do that What you just did? I was never inquirer. I knew my limitations. I just played the saxophone and shut up. I just can't see you as a sax player. I just can't see. It was a good one. Really? Uh huh. Tenor and alto. Is that the big one? The big sad That's the base. No, I did. Tenor and alto Brian, you ever play an instrument? I played strings in middle school. I did a little violent and then I did shallow. Never did the base, though, Because if you tip the cello on the side, cello, you've got those. Do you ever seen those angry, jealous or whatever They're called? This broke. Greg. How do you ever see those guys that the two cello players That are that are like they break their bows. There goes, they do like rock music. There, you got to mix it up. Everything's changing. Carol. The world is changing. It's not status quo anymore. All right, let's get back to the Packers. By the way, Happy birthday, Dorothy mired and thank you for being They asked her what her favorite show was, she said My show. Well, okay. When somebody says that they get an extra mention on the show, Does that make you a little calmer this morning? I'm not going to be calm at any point during today's show. It's a Monday all my weekend frustration comes out on Monday. Now. Typically, it's more in a humorous fashion. I'm not that good. A mood this morning. How did I get so lucky? Brian? Got to hold the short strong. Yeah, You should have asked for Tuesday or Wednesday. By Friday. I'm in a great move up Friday. It's almost the weekend. I got Monday's All right. What else should we know about this game on Saturday? Oh, man, the running back Hill. Yeah. Thailand Hills. Probably good. Yeah. And you know throughout practices over over the first couple of weeks, a camp Steve Um, this was one of those situations where the Packers had some injuries. Erin Jones missed some time with some hamstrings and AJ Dylan's been healthy. But Cailan Hill has been the guy that's been getting some of those reps in place of Erin Jones. When he has been able to go. He's played really well. He's proven himself. He's caught some balls out in the backfield. He's going to touch down in each of the preseason games now, so I think he's stating his case to be that third running back behind the Big two of Erin Jones and a J Dillan and the Packers need that. I mean, we obviously saw that in years past, they'll use a bunch of those guys. Spot. So Yeah, he's been impressive for sure. What are some areas of concern for you Special teams. Okay, it got to tackle its continued big time returns, its continued issues and coverage, And this isn't just this preseason thing This is dating back to last year. I feel like every year when we talk about the bugaboo for the Green Bay Packers. The strong point is Mason Crosby, right. He's always been terrific in terms of field goal, kicking butt coverage on punts and kicks. Kickoffs has been a horrific For years now, and JK Scott has been on and off at punting. So when I think about weaknesses of the football team, it's that and then it's piecing together the offensive line until you can get healthy because you look at David Box er. He's still suffering from that knee injury that he suffered on New Year's Eve last year, So he's not going to be back for week. One. Probably not anyway. And you're dealing with a rookie center and Josh Meyers, and there's just going to be some growth there when you're a rookie trying to adjust to the NFL, So when I think about things that I'm concerned about come week one, it's special teams coverage. And then it's Kim. We get five offensive lineman that can mess soon enough to get by and protect Aaron Rodgers in the first week, two weeks, three weeks of the season. Do we know how long it's going to be before David Bach carry comes back? I think they're outstanding Left tackle. Yeah. I mean, you think about a C L is right. So he tore it on New Year's Eve. That's generally speaking. 10 to 12 month injury and I'm not a doctor. But let's say conservatively, let's let's expedite and say he can get back in nine. That's early September, which is when the season starts. Do you want to rush him back for that first month of the season? Or would you rather have him healthy for the Super Bowl? Push that we know is coming After everybody stays healthy for this team, I would choose the latter. I think they want to stay cautious. So maybe October optimistically, and that means you have to get through a month without it. Do you think that not having him at the important position of left tackle could alter the Packers game planning when it comes to what they do on offense? Sure. Yeah, I think so. I think it's a lot of quick hitter passes because you don't want Aaron Rodgers, you know, running for his life back there for the first month of the season, knowing that it's not a sure fire that is blind side is going to be protected. So I think the Packers always you do a good job of getting the ball out. Quick and Matt LaFleur scheme has a lot to do with that. It's not a lot of seven step drops. Let me hang back here for three seconds and let's let somebody get 60 yards downfield. But I do think you'll see a more conscious effort in the run game and maybe some quick passes early Monday morning quarterback here on six point WTMJ, Steve Carrell and Brian Greg Hill producing this morning, Jordan is off. Don't go anywhere. The Monday morning quarterback returns right after this.

We've been reacting ever. Since the day he got a golf cart. I'm david bach. Lifeline you get phone a friend. You can aaron. Rodgers has lifelines where he threw a lifeline to randall. Cobb to bring him back to green bay Look rogers was as forthcoming as any player has ever been when he had. The media listened to him for like four minute stretch and then answered questions. The this was all from his perspective but it felt like coming from a place of honesty. Now there are some concessions in his contract. That took place after. Brian jenkins met with the media yesterday. He's supposed to be in a contract for three years. Two thousand twenty two is now the final years. They boy did that. Third year the deal forfeiture provisions were removed from the contract of any of the packers from pursuing a prorated portion of aaron rodgers signing bonus in other words if he were to retire they couldn't get the because he showed up this year. Hey you show up if you retire at the end of next year. We're not going to go after you're signing bonus even though you're on a contract for one more year ensure the packers either have to move on from him at the end of this season or signed him to an extension or you can keep on his current deal to massive cap cost and then potentially he then he walks away as a free agent in two years.

"This is the sack Guilt show. My God went back together. Yes, that guilt show CBS sports radio in about three minutes. We'll play some Jerome better sound from yesterday as a pretty damn good question. If I may say so myself. He gave it. Answer that I thought was pretty thought provoking. First up, pellets it up our friend Andre and Mississippi, 855 to 1 to four. CBS. Andre what's happening? Zach. I know the show, man. You think some great interviews on this show, But I'm loving this show. I appreciate it. We appreciate you listening, and we love that. You listen. So what you got for us? Hey, I wanted to win on this air ride to join love situation. Well, Erin, you could do it. And it is Andre. I love you. But it sounds like you're in a tunnel right now. Where you driving? Right now? Let me spare power. I've been loved for about how we're trying to show Yeah, We're running on your time. Yeah, I'll be here all day. We're in a waiting room. We'll wait. All right away for Andre. Let me know when you're good, Andre. We'll make sure we will accommodate you. Now. You sound crystal Clear. What do you got? And he hung up. Mm. Trace. I said, that's all the time. I don't like Andre. There's a good dude calls the show budge, But this is not a waiting room when we go to. Yeah, you gotta be good to go. It can't be. I'm gonna step out. Let me get a better spot. Can you hear me now? Good. Can you hear me now? Good. Can you hear me now? Good. Gotta be good to go. I don't know what that was what he was doing. I think you got a little nervous because not that I was potentially doing it. But You know, I just love what people think We could just wait on their time. You know, we only got 10 minutes left in the shell. So What do you think? Andre? Mrs. What did he tell you? He was going to say, by the way that he thought Aaron Rodgers is gonna play out his deal on then go somewhere else. They're going to go to the young guy, he says they always go to the young guy. Here's the only thing though. If you play out that deal Packers can't let him go for just a compensatory pick. Can you imagine if you only get a compensatory pick back for Aaron Rodgers. That would be just criminal. Trade values the highest right now. Yeah, but you can't trade him right now. You don't Hey, Jordan. Love nice kid was on the show. You don't have a damn clue it. Jordan loves get obey. You agree with that? I agree. You know, Jordan Love is ready to be a starting quarterback. No, no, no, He didn't dress one game, so no, No, you had the boil. They traded up. They traded up to get him so you can't You can't trade Rod. You. You're just back to back NFC title games and I get it 40 Niners they got they got blown out. The bucket is game the offense that and show up. The guy just had an M V p season. If you go to Jordan Love now, and Jordan Love doesn't make a good first impression. And what happens after one year? What did the Packers do? One of the Packers Do. Jordan loves not gonna be good Jordan Love can't do this Jordan Love can't do that. That's gotta be look at what happened with to atone. Goodbye, Lola. You want tongue? Goodbye. Low went from the talk of the town tank for 22. Now people are saying that to a kid play this league Don't get me wrong can always listen to fans. The Packers, who are a proud organization. The Packers, who Our great organization. It would be embarrassing and it would be that would be the punch line to every joke. If they got rid The Aaron Rodgers this offseason. I get his trade value, so I don't care. Take your take your trade value and shove it. That I cannot justify getting rid of Aaron Rodgers right now. Now in three years. Maybe it's a different conversation. I think at a bare minimum is long as Rogers wants to be a Rogers there for this upcoming season of the year after that, after that, then it gets tricky. Let's go to Wisconsin. Thomas next up in the sack killed Thomas what he got. Hey, I don't think Aaron Rodgers is going anywhere. He had a great season. He's a great player. I don't believe he's going anywhere. Like you said Jordan. Love didn't suit up. Who knows what he's gonna do. We're not gonna find out this year, maybe not next year. Erin's not going anywhere is gonna have a case of beer and the back of David Bach. Dre's All right. That was awesome for people that don't know what Thomas is talking about. There was a video that surfaced. It must have been an older video. I don't think that was recent like that. I know that just came to the scene. But that was not recent when he was doing that, right, right. I don't think it was. I guess he was going toe practice or maybe coming back from practice, and he's drinking a beer and the back of David Bach Dre's pickup truck. That was awesome. This really gets dicey. And two years from now. As long as Rodgers plays good cop and want to stay. He's got three years left of the contract than entering that final year of the deal. That's where it gets compelling Homer in Louisiana. Next up on the show. Homer..

They were all drafted by former Packers general manager Ted Thompson, who passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 68. Packers Hall of Famer Mark Tauscher reacts real quiet. Not what you not what you feel from a lot of other G m's words about the moves that he's making in the splash things and it's about it was always about The packer way. Packer people. And You know for the guys that played for him. You know, I think we all understood whatever he was doing. It was because it was going to help the Packers went. He will certainly be present at this weekend's and F C championship game on the field. The Packers defense is gonna have its hands full trying to slow down Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offense If given time, Brady will pick you apart. Certainly he's got such a great field, so He knows when to get the ball out. If whether you're Russian, four or five. It doesn't matter if he feels that rush. He gets the ball out of his hands. And conversely, if you're Russian for and you're not hitting home Hold the ball as long as he needs to tell our people to get open. "But the reforms that we saw they've got James Harden out of Houston. Houston. Good morning. By the way, Um, what's happening in your city? What is? Why are people trying to flee? We're gonna talk about that, too. There's a story an aside that before I get out of here today, I am going to get into and we need to talk about Because it lets you know how bad things are with the Texans, and they're a lot of people that think that maybe they could steal the show Ivan Watson right now because he does not want to be there and this piece Spent a good chunk of time in between games yesterday. Reading it like it is extensive reporting. By Greg Bishop and Jenny Prentice of Sports Illustrated. I printed it out like that's how you know how it is like, I don't know if you know this, but there's been studies done. That When it comes to reading stuff online. You know, we're all reading stuff off of our phone or tablet or or laptop. We basically as human beings zone out after about 500 words. That's why a site like pro football talk Is is so popular because it gives you bite size information. And usually there's a link. If you want to go deeper into things, but usually you get the gist of it. You're like, OK, I know what's going on with that story. I can move on with my day. Yesterday, I sat down and read this story about the guy who's kind of in charge of the Texans right now. Jack Easter Easter bunnies. And and it is amazing. An amazing story, so we will dedicate some time to that. At some point this morning. We will get to that. But But, Houston, we need talk, man. We need to talk about why people are trying to Get out of your your lovely city. Why What's going on with the franchise is down there, But we want to talk about these. These two games. That happened yesterday. In the Games. That will happen today. I'll go in order of the Games yesterday, the Packers They beat the Rams 32 to 18. It was rough watching Erin Donald know that he couldn't have the type of impact on the game that he has. And if you wanted to make an argument For Aaron Donald as Most valuable player. And I think that over the last three or four years, people have come around to the idea of a defensive player. When when a person has that type of impact on the game. You can see it, and you saw that. With him not being 100% or him, not being out there even with all of the other good pieces. That the Rams defense has Leonard Floyd's played great this year. Proctor's has played great. They've got Jalen Ramsey. They have a lot of good pieces on their defense. And because that guy wasn't there. He didn't look the same. You start looking at the numbers in this game. Off what the Packers were able to do. In this game. It was really impressive, like all the way around. You. Ordinarily you just kind of like marvel at what Aaron Rodgers does and trust me. He had a Great game, but the Packers ran for 188 yards yesterday. They average 5.2 yards for Kerry yesterday. They protected their quarterback who was not sacked yesterday. Without the best left tackle in the game. David Bach CRE being on the field. This Packers team is super scary now. They are scary because they married their defense to their offense. The difference between this year's Packers team going into the NFC title game and last year's Packers team going into the NFC title game. Is you believe a little bit more in what their defense is. Everyone knows how good Aaron Rodgers is. And if you don't know how good he is this play that he makes with Alan Lazare yesterday. Was top notch is vintage Rogers When Wayne Larvae on the call Jamal belong Setback. Devante.

"That compound effect by Darren Hardy is again kind of a calming presence, but also still highly motivational. If you are struggling with procrastination and again this year when we're all working from home, and there's so many extra disturbances out there I can't think of a better read than eat that frog by bright Tracy East that frog how to really restructure your life in terms of getting things done if you are just always professionally behind a procrastinating Have been a procrastinator of many times in my life. Eat that fraud by Brian Tracy helped me create sub steps to stop that procrastination to get things done. Restructure the way we think about it to do list and a plan of attack to move ahead in our lives. One new book can be banal. The CEO of Exit Royalty International sent this book to me, and I was so happy that she did. It's called Super Connector by Scott Gerber. As we look ahead to 2021, hopefully where out of this state that we're in where we can't really network the way we are used to. I want you to think about coming out of this Kobe crisis in a new direction in actually impacting people in a new way, Not just going back to networking like you always did. Truly being a super connector and so super connected by Scott Gerber gives you the tools and the resource is to operate at a higher frequency than just not working. It's not just about meeting new people and adding to your data made. It's truly about building business relationships that matter. All about creating value for the relationships around you super connected by stat Gerber. I'm not even halfway through it, and I just can't put the book down. That's fantastic. Classic real estate book is the road map to a profitable $30 million real estate. That's a mouthful, some to say it again. The road map to a profitable $30 million real estate business. It's by two people read a Casey is one of the authors. She has coached me in real estate. Absolutely probably. If you're in real estate sales, the most important book you'll ever read. There's a couple other ones you may know about their This is the one though that is truly the most fresh. There's a second edition that's out now. It absolutely game changer for my real estate business and again the way that I treat people around me the relationships that I build the road natural possible $30 million real estate business. It's a mouthful, but it's also an incredible reek. Two more books Raving fans By Ken Blanchard. It's the classic. I've read it twice with my book club at the office that is again going back to. We're going to need to be building these relationships. And if you want to start building them before the end of covert when you're at your house, and you can't necessarily network the way you used to meeting people in person. Raving fans is a great thing to think about gifting program. And sending things to people in the mail building relationships, maybe even online. But how to create people that really want to help your business grow? Because if you do that, if you create Raving fans around you. It's a heck of a lot easier to actually overall, build a sustainable business by referral. And the last one. This is one that I think if you are a homeowner or wanting to be a homeowner or an investor, or maybe a investor to be, I can't think of a better book than the automatic millionaire Homeowner by David Bach, the automatic millionaire homeowner, even if your realtor and you might say, Well, you know, I'm already in real estate. I don't need to read that when I read that book and actually re ignited my passion for what I do. It was a book that teaches homeowners how to build wealth by holding on the property versus necessarily selling it when they outgrow it. Now you is, the realtor might say, Oh, my gosh, I don't want to give them that That's going to tell them not to use me as their realtor for their you know, selling of a property. They're gonna want to just keep the property but I have to tell you This is really what you're supposed to be doing is creating long term wealth and helping people build the legacy. And the automatic millionaire homeowner is just absolutely incredible for reigniting your passion. If your realtor or if you have clients that maybe they bought a home through you, but they've only bought one. It's a way to ignite their passion for creating a legacy. So Those are my top 10. You guys may have some wonderful books as well. But it's a good big list. It's less than one book a month. I know people that are reading a book a week right now, in their current situation we're in, but I'm not asking you to do that. I think a book every 4 to 6 week is achievable. I'm doing an online do book club with my office. So don't think that because we're Necessarily in some municipalities, and Harry is going to be, you know, restricted to what we can do in person. Zoom book Club is fun, you know, could do stuff on Facebook, all these different groups that online until we can meet again in person, but some really great books up there this year. Someone talked about before and something always a great time talking to you, Nick and getting inspired and fired up for a successful New year and those who are awesome great books to get started with and tell our listeners how they can follow you on social media, My friend. "That's podcast common. Of course, if you have questions 7 to 0931. 65 60 will give that number throughout the show. 7 to 0931 65 60. All right, we're gonna be talking about kind of end of the year. Financial planning. What are some of the things we can do before we run into the year? 2021 bod mad? You're gonna give away your any of people opportunity? I don't know how many you're giving away. Is that the first caller 10th caller? How you doing it You're gonna give away Choice Power of zero By David Big Night the tax guru or smart Women Finish Rich by David Bach. You got a couple options for people. Yeah, and as many people that call will give him a Z many his books away as possible, but their great books, I would say this way. Um, they're very straightforward and they've got great information's a specially with what's going on and where we're going into the future. So Great books to give away. Anybody wants to give us a call and get in and get one of those books. That's yours. So you go, David. Big Nights book the power of Zero. We're talking about zero taxes. How would you get to that point and there's a lot of steps to get there. But it's how to put yourself in a better position with with the tax man if you will. David McKnight's power of zero or David Box Smart women finish rich and he's got all kinds of books. David Bach he's 9 10 Times. 11 TIMES, New York Times bestselling author in the Financial World, David Box Smart women, So you have those two choices if you would like a copy. We have to do is pick up the phone and call the team and say, Hey, I would like David McKnight's book Power of Zero, or I would like David Box book Smart Women, 7 to 0931 65 67 to 0931. 65 60. Both books are fantastic and certainly give you a little bit better understanding of the tax world or how we should be trying to save them to be able to retire at some point. So there you go. You've got that. Let's talk about because we're kind of doing a year in show, even though we're not in the year end, But we're going to kind of talk about some things you need to do because really, it's hard to do your in things on December 31st. You need a little bit of time, don't you, man? That's what I was always told in school. Your teacher's would say, You know, you got to start preparing a little bit ahead of time. Write that paper. But anyways, instead of doing a crash course there are so many things people could do from now until the end of the year, and they're small things summer, bigger things, but what they can do to help their financial planning a retirement planning, so I'm gonna kind of go through my year and guide Mark toe what those are Yeah. So I look forward to that. I think in this segment, though, you have certain things that you say pretty much all the time, And I think there's a reason you have these things in the financial vein. If you will. We're going to kind of go through some of those, and you're gonna kind of talk about why you kind of look at these as I don't know if you'd say rules of thumb or things to live by, but they kind of do fit into those categories of times. Yeah, I think it'll be this show guys, Mark. You know, I've been talking about the elections. We've been talking about the markets. We've been talking about taxes. So today I just want to take a little bit different approach, and I kind of want to give everybody a thought process And there's five things that I say. Lot, and what I want to do is go through him and what they mean to people and see if they make sense. And the first one is we always say it right. Mark is do the best you can until you do better. And when you know better do better in my point, too. That is, is that you have to continue to work on your planning, Just like you do your job. Your health Your weight. You know your relationship and all those things And then once you learn and you adapt everything's always changing so that so that saying is so appropriate, especially in the financial world mark because so many things are just getting better and better and better, And you should continue to learn so that you can find out what you can do better and when you know better act on it and do better, and I think it's a good saying, and it's something that people should repeat and really apply it to their financial planning. You know, when you think about it every year Or three or 45 or six car manufacturers come out with their new version of the Chevy Tahoe. Yeah, whatever, you know different cars. They have a run for 3 to 5 years. Then they come out with our new model. And a lot of times the new model is a little bit better, sometimes not much better. Sometimes it's incredibly better. You look at the 2020 Corvette mid engine. First time Corvettes ever been a minute, your car? That's an incredible car. That's a big jump for four Chevy in and Corvette and you think about the same things happen in the insurance world with the tools you can use in the insurance, real life insurance annuities and you think about the stock market world, the investment world..

I was looking at this as I was perusing my show notes and as remarkable as this is, we're almost halfway through November already. Get through November. They were in December. That's Christmas, Hanukkah New Year's, and then we have started all over again. Hopefully a much different way than we We spent 2020 and that's with a pandemic. That's Reducing the risk to all of us versus exploding the wrist offices, which is happening, Wisconsin right now, I'm gonna spend the next half hour on a couple different things a little bit later this half arm and talk about the election and Really great great question posed by a New York Times columnist and reporter on the reaction of this president to the election, and probably more importantly, the reaction of The rest of the world. We see a probably try to address it. Now you could make the argument that asking a Legislature to do something about a virus is a proposal or an idea doomed for failure. I don't necessarily agree with that. But I was listening to this as I was looking to this part of the movie the other the other week when I was watching if you good men This exchange. "The injury obviously was a shot box here is this bacteria studies you point out, but a lot of quarterbacks kind of deal with this and they don't at least, um it physically that that resignation That to me and to you if that's even and that's that the perfect word, then take up variable like something that that that that that you know, the connotation there. Like we're not saying that he quit. But there was a little like either that forlorn look of acceptance or and acceptance, you know, battle pit, but Katie would spit it out because I thought there's the perfect work. I don't know what all time great but what I saw, and that's what I want to ask you before I saw a guy Who was it? A little less willing, then I would like to stand in the pocket and survey the you know, middle to deeper portion of the field. He was ducking it down a lot, man. Yeah, conservative for my date. But if you're Aaron Rodgers and You. You're you're surveying your offense of line and David Bach. The area's out and Ah, and instead Ricky Wicky Wagner was a kid's name. Who took that box theory spot. Ricky Wagner is your left tackle now, and he's getting runs. Every time they put two guys over there. Two defenders. He's confused with one the block and one of them's come Scot free. You, can you what are you going to do? He's almost 40 years old. He's 31 to 38. So I mean, you don't want to get hit ever if you're a quarterback, if you're getting hit, and it's unfettered to you, it's got it is it wears on you? It's one of the things that you talked about with young quarterbacks. Now you don't want to ruin them because they get hit so much. They never looked downfield anymore. It happens the old quarterbacks to though when they get hit so many times, even when he does get the ball out of his hands. When you get hit so many times, you can't help. But, you know, look me in the intermediate to short range as opposed to trying to push the ball downfield and let's be real. He's just not the athlete. That he was two years ago where he could, you know, run away from all that stuff you know he could he could scramble for, you know, five seconds and, you know, throw across his body and throw a dime in 30 yards downfield. That's not Aaron Rodgers anymore. And so I That's why I felt like he was resigned because he didn't There was nothing he could do like, Usually, he could be here where he could be a hero. You can't be the hero anymore because he's get a little bit owner. Well, I mean, listen, the NFL has always been about recalibration, and it's been about recalibration. Two aspects you know, from from my seat. And you know, from the seat of 99.999% of the people will listen to the show who didn't play in the NFL. You know the NFL's recalibration gotta come within Fanbases, whether it's a month to month or a week to week basis when injuries happen. You've got to be, you know, savvy and flexible is a fan and understand, all right. This just kind of changed the way I see my team. This may have just changed the arc of my team. So there is that aspect. But then there's also The end of this more important, obviously, the internal recalibration and this applies to the Packers. This applies to the Browns teams that were rolling teams that put forth either quite putrid or or or just grossly disappointing, underwhelming performances on a big stage. I think the bills would would fall into that category the last week. And you, and I think we also have to recalibrate the NDP race right now. Because last week, Josh Allen took a big step back yesterday, Aaron Rodgers took a big step back. I know Derrick Henry was a beast. But Ryan Tannehill took a little step forward to the back end is still Russell Wilson's award. I would think for now, but we'll see what my home's does tonight. Lamar Jackson still running well, but he's not throwing it a CZ well. It's Ah, I think that that's that's the moral of the day..

"The only thing I walk away from the game yesterday, and I'm like You know as much time and rightfully so, as we devoted on the air Friday, how many times you get this kind of a match? Brady versus Rogers? I mean, Brady's almost done. You know, Rogers a couple of years away from 40. This is all time stuff. So I'm not sounding the alarm for the Packers, but it really was. The complete antithesis of what I wanted to see you. Because, Brady I know we threw two touchdowns but menial yardage, etcetera. Rogers was not good at all. So I kind of cheated of this. This this performance by these two all time titans, at least from the aesthetic sport of you. Like, you know, I wanted 35 30. I wanted both guys to really flourish in And just kind of turned back time a little bit, and Rogers was horrendous. And and Brady was kind of a game. And you know you're right. And look at the end of the day Once David Bach the area, their left tackle got hurt. It was me. Forget it. There was no chance for Aaron Rodgers. If I forget the kid's name who they They put in, but he was a revolving door and give Todd Bowles, former New York Jets head coach, now defensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Aton, a credit for bringing the same complex type of blitzes to that left side where their best offensive lineman had vacated as a result, and Roger just kept getting hit and had no time And even when he you know, had his eyes set where he wanted to let the ball go. He's still getting drilled in his chest. So you got to give credit where credit is due, and that's the Tampa Bay defense. I mean, this whole offseason. All we talked about was how impressive their offense was going to be because of all the names and you could run through the list, but most importantly, having Tom Brady as thie as their quarterback, quietly, the standby Buccaneers defense is the number one defense in football and they get after the quarterback. They turned the ball over. They make it difficult for you. And ultimately, when they were when they had the pick six that basically stole Mo mentum may not be that did it stole Mo mentum. From the Green Bay Packers, who had driven down the field twice put 10 points on the board, You know just real quickly. But when Jemele Dean had that pick six, it completely flipped like there wasn't a ton of fans in the stadium, but the entire energy of that stadium Changed, and it was three and out turn over the very next series for Green Bay, And after that one, it almost felt like there was no energy left in the Packers, and they faded quickly and it became a blowout. But the credit you know has we've thought it's going to go toe Tampa's offense. You've got to give credit where it belongs. Tampa's defense is playing awesome football right now. That's the headline. It's not tape is often the headline is 100% Tampa's defense. They were phenomenal. And you talk about how the energy and the demeanor change inside of the stadium, even though there won't on wasn't a full house, the energy and the demeanor and this is a little bothersome to me. Objectively speaking. The energy and the demeanor from Aaron Rodgers began to change a little bit. You know, you start to get the eye rolls and not on the same page with Parker and you know it was like he was resigned. Right? Well, it's funny. You say that I want to ask you a question have something that I noticed, But I want to see if you would agree. But let's first here we heard from Brady with the dub. Let's hear for with Rod with Rogers on the law's Here's Aaron Rodgers..

Nobody looking over your shoulder, do in the privacy of your own home and at your desired speed. And this will give you are great places to where to start. I have to take that quiz. We encourage you to review your results. Would Linda It doesn't matter if you save 750,000 1,000,000 or more 7 to 0 for 888604 the number to call to talkto Linda's office. And set up your own 20 minute phone visit 7 to 0 for 888604 Then you can review your results and see what the next best steps are for you. 7 to 0 for 888604 Right, Linda. What do you say we open up the mail bag because we have another bunch of great questions. We have some really good ones today. Okay, let's get started here, this says My daughter recently graduated and found a great job in her field. Now she's earning a lot of money but doesn't want to save any of it for her future. She thinks it's her right to spend it all. However, she wants and she just won't listen to me. Wow. What should I do? Ah, youth and many parents, they're frustrated. It is not unusual. She's one to stretch your wings and just do her own thing and don't bother me anymore. But you know, over time. We really need to kind of get her attention that this is awesome. She's got a great job, and she's making good money. A lot of people can't find a job, so it's awesome that she's able T get one and make good money. Now the next thing is, we would really like to talk to her about starting young, sure, start early and getting getting some savings schooling because the earlier you start we have his great little chart that shows Earlier. You start saving the better It will be in the long run for you. And we had that fun book. Remember the book? Lot, a factor. It's a terrific book, and it will surprise you how easy it is to get your retirement going. That's exactly right. So one of the things I would suggest is maybe she should be reading the latte factor. And if you want to give us a call, and let us know we'd be glad, Teo give you a copy of it for your daughter, right? It's a terrific book. I've read it, and it just makes so much sense. That I've given it to both alike kids and del breed this and don't listen to me Listen to this book, and it's a great book, right is written by best selling author David Bach, and he really knows what's going on. He's written. The smart rich is smart couples finish your It's smart women finish rich, the automatic millionaire to name just a few of his wet nine or 10 best sellers. And Lotte factors. The latest one so Yeah, really, highly recommend that for younger people really is worth in particular. OK, how about this one? Linda? It says I hear you talking about planning every week. But my parents didn't do any planning. And they seem to have done just fine. They both retired at 65. No, dad passed away at 70 in an accident. And mom passed a few years later. She didn't have anything safe of retirement after Dad died and moved in with me until the end. She seems to do fine. So I'm saying, What's the big deal? Wow. A lot of big deal here. A lot of big deal here. You know, it really depends on what your choices. I mean, nobody makes you plan, right? No one's making you do that at all. But just think what would have happened if Dad hadn't passed it? 70? What they have been in any better situation or not. It sounds like things were kind of Kind of tight to begin with. And then you know, Mom moved in with you. Luckily, you could take her in And there weren't any major expenses apparently before she passed, and so you could handle all that. You know, when you're thinking about your own retirement planning, is that the planning that you want to have? Do you want to move in with your kids and Make sure they can support you in your your later years. It certainly can be done and it's been done plenty of times and bless you for doing that for your mom. But I really think that most people would rather do some planning and Be able to maintain their independence and then visit their kids when they want to. O R moving if the kids want him to, But now because they have to, you know, want to burden the kids. If it's just not right for them, right, right. OK, boy, That's that's that's terrific advice there, Linda and also when Dad passed away at 70 a lot of people are living a lot longer than that. And you got to consider that as well. That's right. And you've got to save up and be able to support yourself for that extended time because more than likely most people will live longer, right, Okay. Things to think about. Here's another question, it says With the election coming in November. Is there any real reason to worry about taxes or investment markets? Both parties say everything's gonna be fine if they win, But, Linda, what do you think? Oh, my God. Yeah, well, you know, it's an election year, and so both parties were going to say all kinds of things are going to go there again. Talk about that part so, but the thing that I I would have to say is Things aren't necessarily going to be okay. Regardless of who wins, taxes, air more than likely gonna have to go up. Regardless of who wins. It's just a matter of how much and when, And the best thing you can do for yourself today is plan, save and be his tax efficient down the road as possible. And that means setting up some things. Now that won't be taxable later on Windows Tax free school up Cause I'm really sure they're going up and I don't care what say to defense you're sitting.

"Dot com and I know we just heard from you know your your TV host Megan Bozak talking with David Bach the ten eleven time now New York times bestselling author a well respected in the financial world you had David on your program before I guess when you think about what David and Megan were discussing obviously talking coronavirus and talking the markets in the volatility it seemed to me the number one thing David Bach was talking about Stephanie is don't panic I'm sure you're probably in that same real weight you probably think we all should panic right now for the world in no no you don't know you don't want to panic in fact I even hate say in the war because when you said you almost feel like well I should be panicking no no don't don't take a deep breath I love the fact that you know it just turn the TV off don't be driven by fear all fear is is just false evidence appearing real there's a lot that we should be don't take serious let's be cautious last week I was on a plane mark and you know I was fly in and every time that I had a chance I would wash my hands and extra little bit a little bit longer and I had a hand sanitizers and wiped out my seat but that was a private jet that's how you know how Southwest Airlines and I throw it applied for my buddies at Southwest Airlines yeah no I I I just took extra caution but mark I do that with my grand kids are sick with my grand kids are sick I take extra caution I wipe my hands and I watch them and I make the March third this is just you know I hate to say it but mark we just need to use a little bit of common sense and what's happening is fear is.

"Be giving you ways to connect with Jeff you're coming up a little bit later in the show it is a special edition of Massey on money today special guests coming up just moments from now we sit down with a best selling author David Bach he shares with us about his brand new book that has just come out it's called the latte factor and we find out why he wrote it and what it means to him his family what he hopes it will mean to you and your family when it comes to finances for all generations and we talk with David just a little bit from now so make sure you stay tuned to that and Jeff I know you're proud dad you're also proud grandfather here and I was thinking about about just the advent of those children being born I have three myself and you never really truly feel ready for kids do you I mean think back you have when you had your first did you feel ready for that child to be born no absolutely not and I think most people that I know that first child coming around you know might have been a bit of a surprise me the moderates of general plans about when to have children but when it happens it's like oh wow all right yeah I'm gonna be a father no well what we do and that's a whole new phase of life and you have some interesting conversations with your spouse about what's going to happen in this a lot of disconnect with people when they when they were you know about to get married or when they're planning on getting married and having children yeah I just read an article in the paper recently where this lady was writing and saying Hey you know we should be getting married soon he wants to have a child right away but I would like to wait a little bit I would like to add a couple of years you know how to YA present that conversation with him without breaking his heart I would go well it's kind of interesting because if you don't agree and having children I'm thinking that's a pretty important conversation they have with you soon to be spouse boy it sure is that would be up there at the top of the list for me and you bring up some good points there just feeling maybe not one hundred percent ready because you don't know what to expect you've never walked to that that path before and it may be the same is true for when you bought your first home or started a new job in any new phase of life Jeff was it whether it's Perrin heard or whatnot it brings those new challenges what do we do as humans we adjust we tried a test at least but I wondered this Jeff how does someone adjust how could I adjust to our listeners adjust if they were forced into retirement earlier than expected how often do you see that concerns about being forced to retire or maybe just not being ready and and having your hand your hand pressed in that matter what do you tell people you know lately we haven't seen it quite as often but when the market tank back in it earlier oh nine you know a lot of companies cut back in a lot of people the way I put it were in invited to retire early you know that's a nice way of putting it yeah I mean they're they're job was just cut out from under them and many people just weren't prepared because many thought well I'm I'm gonna work on the five six seven years and all of a sudden they lose their job and they've been at that job in some cases for decades and built up a very strong salary at that company and now it's gone and then where they have to do and they have to kind of circle circle the wagons so to speak the kind of figure out all right I need to be protected I have first and then how do I go about correcting this situation that I'm now found and it's different for everybody but the primary focus is to determine what are your expenses and what's your income going to be and once you get those two things under control you can maybe breathe a little easier Jeff no one wants their hand forced especially when it comes to their retirement date but let's talk about some of the things that could cause us to have to retire early for whatever reason well one of the bigger ones you know sadly is when people all of a sudden have a severe health of it no if they diagnosed with cancer or something you know tough like that that that could be life and you know and they may have to retire early and much earlier than anticipated so that's a big one and another one I mentioned a moment ago was haven't seen as often but if an economic downturn happens and companies are just cutting back well that's that's a more probable one to happen more across the board and that we do see on a fairly regular basis we had somebody come in recently he was the chief financial officer of a big firm and he knew that guns sold out and was kind of anticipating that something would happen but here is sixty years old and now that job is gone and he's at a point where you know Gee whiz I'm sixty you know should I just stay retired can I afford to stay retired or should I go back to work you know I had a job that was all consuming he said my job was my life you know worked into the evenings every night you know not all of sudden go from that to she was I don't have any hobbies and what am I going to do with all this time I have a my hand so it's a it's a big transition so that's an important one and you just have to kind of figure out you know what step should you should you be taking you know and what do you want to do so when it comes to being faced or forced with an early retirement he was a lot of things you have to consider so we put together a checklist that can help you prepare for retirement whether it's the retirement time line you were expecting or all of a sudden it was pushed upon you either way we think our checklist to be very beneficial for you to get and if you'd like to get a free copy of this checklist all you need to do is text the word checklist two four oh one two hundred seven two hundred and we'll we'll get that checklist out to you again just text the word checklist you don't need to send any kind of message just checklist two four one two hundred seven two hundred again two hundred seven two hundred and we'll get that checklist right out to you and just website if you'd like to learn more is Massey on money dot com I'll spell Massey for you it's M.
