Colin Kaepernick And Dave Ramsey Walk Into A Bar

"Went to a mastermind meeting yesterday. Now, standard mastermind wasn't with a group of people that already knew. It was an invite only meet up with some handpicked people a made the cut. So I showed up. The topic was list building. We broke off into small groups, did more of a typical mastermind in those small groups met a lot of great people there. And something that I heard from more than a few of them was that they were worried about saying something bold. I think one of the reasons for that could have been just the age of this thing. A lot of people in their twenties in their thirties. I'm forty five years old. Second. Oldest person there. This was a younger crowd, but still even if you're in your forties and fifties and your sixty seventies, this is something that follows people around, and if you don't start getting used to it now where you are right now in your life is not likely to change, you have to make change the way that this presents itself is that you think something and your frayed you're going to get a reaction that's not going to be positive. So because of that, a lot of people put on the brakes to what they really want to say. Just this week as an example, an anonymous op Ed in the New York Times, it was bold, but it was an onerous that doesn't have the same weight is when you put your name behind something last episode of talked about Colin Kaepernick, Nike very bold ad featuring Colin Kaepernick. Their name was on it. His name was on it. Lot of backlash on Twitter, but results matter, and here's what the results are. This is an article from time despite the back. Clash in the wake of Nikes endorsement of Colin Kaepernick the sports where companies reported a thirty one percent increase in sales. Nike sales grew thirty one percent from Sunday through Thursday over the Labor Day holiday this year compared to the previous year according to Edison trends, bold works, but you've got to put your name on it. If you feel a certain way, people are gonna find out anyway. We can't keep secrets in this culture. How long do you think that the New York Times op-ed guy has I give it till the end of the year. It's probably going to be before the election. We've got maybe a couple of months. I'm giving it four months max before we find out who this guy is. If you're thinking already, you might as well say it and if you're going to say it, you might as well put your name on it. When you do this on your podcast, you're going to attract the listeners who are also thinking what you're thinking. The maybe they're not saying anything, and maybe if they are saying something they're non Mus something related to this subject, a very well known broadcast. "Research firm has conducted the largest study ever done of millionaires in the United States over ten thousand millionaires. About half of them were Dave daveramsey, followers and about half of them weren't oddly enough. The statistical evidence did not change much between the two. So we put it all together and looked at it. We pull it apart and looked at it. Pretty interesting. Conclusions. You can come to from reading this. And a lot of the mythology that people believe about wealthy people is just garbage. "Of us have at one time or another my life we still tell you too get out of debt that simple well daveramsey makes me mad i don't like daveramsey dave ramsey this daveramsey that twitter and facebook fools out there floating around most i'm not even born yet when i was started during the show and everybody's got an opinion there are no suddenly broke people have opinions about money flick fat people have an opinion about marathons just stupid just a dumb idea you know an i used to be a lot nicer when i first started the show i would try to convince everyone and i was kind of really upset me when someone didn't like me or was mad about something i said an and after doing this this long them fifteen million books sold and five million people through financial peace university in 14 million of your listing here every week through one version or another of the show i'm pretty convinced sgnoun based on how many people have become millionaires and how many people have gotten out of debt and how many people the increased their generosity and how many people of save their marriage there was about to fall apart over money i'm pretty convinced now that on these honey subjects if you're upset by what i say it's probably because you need to change euro winer if you don't agree with me on this stuff you're which no is wrong will add saragan now not arrogant at all it's confidence there is a different some confidence in arrogance i've been doing this more than anyone else in the entire world while you that are listening to me of been alive there's no one else on the planet that has gotten as many people out of that that has caused as many people do we millionaires no one else now there's a lot of stuff i'm not good at and there's a lot of stuff i don't know anything about and yes i'm not perfect i get all of that and this is not about me but it's pretty aggravating after all this time that some of you are still trying to convince your friends and relatives to do stupid stuff with money it's aggravating because when you do convinced them to do stupid stuff with money your causing them to be broke you are a curse in their lives all don't pay off your mortgage daveramsey to know he's talking about me is taste radar.

"And i'm also the spender of my wife and i uh and so uh it's gotten gotten us into trouble a few times 'cause i don't stick to a budget um but my problem is and is in it that in budgeting what the problem of my most friend into is be incidentals the things that come up that you know i've planned for everything i can think of but there's always that gifts or there's that that i note daveramsey talks about the emergencies fun yeah but there's always something else that comes up and how to away incorporate that do i leave in buffer zone do i leave myself a little bit 'cause i know what uh you you guys talk about is you know budget every single dollar yeah give every dollar assignment every time i do that i always find myself short yeah yeah well i bet you it's probably not a a rare saying so for that makes you still better that you're not the one experience to this but hopefully you can get a a little bit of guidance here in the next couple minutes how many months have you been attempting a budget uh and i have now i've been off of one for quite some time but i have tried i have tried it at least five to ten budget okay the pasha year all right and what programmer using you just doing a pen and paper or you doing some kind of software you know i used for you um and software um i forget what is called like i said i've been off for awhile yeah uh i have not tried every dollar dot com um i haven't tried that yet i'm my plan on looking into that uh long time ago i used to use uh dave ramsey 'cause l yeah square deal but um no i i've i've done pen and paper i've tried i've tried percentage budgets i've tried by doing every dollar i've tried everything go so that's why i'm calling you will get question i bet you most of our listeners probably have the same question as well.

"Hi i'm taking my call for my car and only woman a background ipad homebased power but i'm currently working full time for someone al i got my aunts and accounting left here and i have a small bookkeeping insurance throwing business helping us with baby steps to i know i can make more money business but i don't have time for anymore clients but my fulltime job and we need that money so what should i do we go baby stuck to its behind us and all have more flexibility or how can i make the transition sooner well you know it's great question the fact that you're in baby steps to definitely affects the answer but it's not the determining factor because even if you were in baby step number two the truth is i still want you to build a side business up because if if the money is there and you make the jump even if you're not uh you know in babysitting ever to you still don't want to fall you don't want to have this uh the bus business becomes a burden instead of a blessing so i want you to build up your revenue in personal income from the side business so much that when you leave the fulltime job as daveramsey says eunepal the boat close enough to the doctor when you step into the boat you don't fall in the water so what that looks like is maybe for a season katie you work crazy hours and it feels like you're working to fulltime jobs because you are but you remember that it's a season and when those revenues in that personal income as there you can make the step and then it's not this terrifying leap it's the next logical step another option would be is to increase the fees that you're charging right now in your side business to make more money per client.
