"Everybody to the play Travis and buck Sexton show We have so much to discuss today the Pennsylvania Senate race and absolute nail biter I'm wondering people keep asking me I'm like I don't know this could come down to I had someone text me today They think it could come down to less than less than a hundred votes when all said and done Now I don't know if that's going to be the case But we had all three of the top candidates in that race on yesterday You know Kathy Barnett doctor mehmet Oz and Dave McCormick McCormick and Oz are the ones who are locked in this absolute throwdown here of the still mail in ballots to be counted probably an automatic recount going to happen This is going to be by the thinnest of margins imaginable for that Senate primary and obviously that person that is in a very good spot not a definite but a good spot to take a Senate seat in the key swing state of Pennsylvania which I've lived the third most narrowly decided 2020 state I think it was a number three in terms of actual difference between Trump and Biden and the final tally whatever one thinks of that tally And I actually had still have problems with the way it was done in Pennsylvania more than almost any more than anywhere else quite honestly But we will tell you the latest on that We've also got our friend bridge Colby formally at the Trump Pentagon joining us to talk about the final defenders in Ukraine and Mary opal have surrendered and evacuated And the Russian war continues on here Two big things going on right now that could change the trajectory of the conflict You have NATO membership application pending right now for Finland and Sweden is up next They're looking to join NATO So that's a big deal We'll talk about that And then senator Ron Johnson of course title 42 ending soon and the Biden administration says that they're going to be able to handle this but the senator from Wisconsin will be joining us to talk about what's going on there Plus glad you see somebody We should talk about this as well Separately But there's a kid who had a title 9 complaint brought against him in Wisconsin For using the wrong pronoun supposed to use according to the school plural pronoun for a non binary individual This is what under title 9 they're using title 9 now as the basis for this So we'll bring that up again later I want to ask the senator about that one How that could be going on anywhere seems just crazy But we want to start with something that's something I'm a victory You have today the news breaking that Nina jankowitz Soviet Mary Poppins Such a great nickname Thank you sir She has been told that she's going to have to be singing or her deep state musicals somewhere else because the disinformation board after only a few weeks of its creation has been paused Clay it turns out when people find out what the anti speech Democrat apparatus is up to behind closed doors It's a problem for them It doesn't go so well Yeah bucket This is another big win And we're starting to stack some dubs I gotta say as you start to look at the trajectory of the country Now the way that this story broke and I know you read this article too So it came out from The Washington Post and if you if you read it it's the entire conveyance is how the Biden administration basically failed the Soviet Mary Poppins as you just said it In terms of supporting her And there's all these lines in the article where they basically imply that the reason why they had to shut it down was because there was all this attack on her from right-wing propagandists and everything else and people shudder went back through her history of online statements to demonstrate that of all the people who could have been disinformation board heads that she was one of the worst They shared different clips and things that she had said and the whole thing is sort of a whining woe is me look at how unfair the Internet is They've said mean things about Nina jankowicz ultimately however they have only suspended this although it feels like this is basically dead And so what it means is even CNN plus as the House judiciary committee tweeted out outlasted the ministry of truth in the Biden administration But this was just an epically bad decision buck It was rolled out in an epically bad fashion and it led to me honestly asking the question it felt like when this came out that the Biden administration last night you probably didn't pay attention I didn't watch it But they had the NBA draft lottery the worst teams get the best picks It really does feel to me And I think we need to start to get this idea circulating more that the Biden administration is trying to tank for the number one pick Because it feels like they're trying to lose bucket If everything It's like the plot of major league the movie which is a great movie It's a great movie Pick the worst team possible so you can relocate to Miami which by the way not the worst plan I've ever heard Would have been actually not a bad move Now they're not even the Cleveland Indians by the way They're the Cleveland guardians because in ward Indians is offensive Oh that's right I forgot about that So there's there seems to be a clear effort underway from the Democrat party And it's a long-standing effort To control speech That's something we'll be talking about more here To either police speech or to ban it they're quite open about They want more Internet monitoring of extremist content So interesting by the way clay because I come from a counter terrorism analysis background from within the government And I remember Democrats were always the ones who were saying hold on a second We don't want to stigmatize anybody by having certain chat rooms monitored or certain It is wild to think about how much the Democrat party has changed when it comes to issues of speech But think about the reversal In the era of Al-Qaeda and then ISIS when jihadist plots were a relatively regular phenomenon unfortunately in America in the west max casually terror plots I had to work against some of those plots specifically but there was always this concern about the different guidelines about where you could put in the case of law enforcement and undercover operative And what they could report on and who they and it was always the Democrats always the Democrats who were saying how dare you look at this group How dare you stigmatize this group Even when sometimes it was a bunch of guys sitting around saying you know let's get some stinger missiles and shoot them at planes I mean they were they were always taking a very don't surveil position right They were always the ones that were holding holding back on the state apparatus of that Now they.

David McCormick and Mehmet Oz Locked in Tight Race for GOP Primary

"At the end of last night, Dave was down 2000, 752 votes, meaning Tuesday night. Today, roughly 10,000 out of 33,000 absentee ballot votes were counted, and we, meaning the McCormick campaign, averaged a 10% victory, closing the gap by 1509 votes. Dave is now only down 1243 votes with an estimated 20,000 GOP absentee votes left to count. Dave is going to win. You'd rather be Dave McCormick with those numbers, and that trendline and you'd rather be Doctor Oz, and both Dwayne and I did the algebra. It's a ratio and of course Dwayne got it right and I got it wrong. But when we compared notes, it looks like. If everything holds the same, that at the end of round one, there'll be a recount. Mandatory recount McCormick should win by 2200 votes. I had him winning by 409 votes, and I had the wrong denominator. There are a couple of horses in there that might come close, but not close enough. One is Lancaster county's all screwed up. Another is Allegheny county is not all absentee ballots are out. There they have 30 odd precincts that have been counted. But Allegheny county is Dave McCormick's home, so one would have shown he's going to win those. But we'll know more tomorrow morning and we'll know a lot more Monday and then there will be a

"Very interesting. I listen, I don't see them as the competition. If your body of mine like Dan bongino, I'm going to listen to your show if you're Chris plant, you keep D.C. saying, I listen to him as well. And I was listening to Dan a couple of days ago, and he said, it's really weird. We've reached out to everybody in Pennsylvania and nobody wants to come on this show except Kathy. I had Kathy on the show twice. We reached out to Doctor Oz, his campaign kept playing stupid games with my producer Jeff. Yeah, we're very busy. Well, Doctor Oz is very busy, but we'll get back to you. So the only person we had on was Kathy, I am not surprised that McCormack's team is the same team as Glenn youngkin, so you managed to get him on your show what impression did he leave you with? He seemed to close the sale in the 11th hour. I will tell you, too, if I may for a minute, I had the big guy on the show yesterday as well. I had McCormick and Oz and the big guy. Wow. See, that's the power of being the voice of Philly. Okay, well, let's walk through. Let's start with the cormac. Let's start with this dark horse, the kind of reaped the benefit of the attacks on Kathy. Tell us about who this guy is. And the impression he gave you. Sure. He is a 7th generation pennsylvanian. He did grow up in Pennsylvania, went to high school in Pennsylvania. He's a graduate of West Point. He's an army ranger. He's a bronze star recipient. I mean, by all accounts, he's a patriot. No doubt about that. He has a farm in Pennsylvania's families from there. The knock on Dave McCormick has been that for the last, I don't know, decade at least. He's called Connecticut home and he's made a lot of money in hedge fund management. Now, you know, it's up to you whether you think that's a dirty word hedge fund. But right away, people start looking at the financials of a guy like that. And, you know, he's made money in China and other foreign interests and that the C word is also a dirty word these days for a lot of Trump voters. I understand that. So right away there was suspicion of him not living in Pennsylvania, even though being from Pennsylvania and making money in the markets the way he did. So that was a different kind of suspicion than the odds suspicion, but they both were branded by the lesser known candidates as people who parachuted in with gobs and gobs of money and tried to buy their way into this race. And that stuck to both of them. And that's why voters could not get their heads around either one of these guys because they were both branded effectively in early as outsiders. As carpetbaggers with tons and tons of dough. Okay, so that's the story of those candidacy. Talk to us about how he performed your Spidey senses when McCormick came on your show as a candidate was he unpolished to polished. It was he maga not maga because, you know, I tell you my story, you know, as a resident of the Commonwealth, we tried to get youngkin on for months. His team played silly buggers. I had his personal cell phone at his wife's cell phone because we have common acquaintances. And I basically embarrassed him onto coming onto the show the week before the election. And you know, he walked a very, very tenuous line. I asked him on it, and it wasn't an aggressive interview, it was a tough interview. I did the same with Kathy. One of my callers said afterwards, you were like a police officer in an interrogation room, but you were fair. And that's the best. I can get from anybody. And I said, are you maggot? Do you believe in making America great again and then youngkin pauses in front of 3 million lessons and says, I believe in making Virginia great again. That half pregnant, you know, I'm not magga, but I'm half maga..

"Texting and I checked Fox News this Pennsylvania primary with Doctor Oz and Dave McCormick it's down to about 600 votes out of on the Republican side like over a million casts between all the candidates And yet in Lancaster county we have this situation where they have any number of problems which 20,022 thousand mail in ballots they put the wrong code the machines can't read them I'm trying to see well what are they going to do They're going to remark them When is that going to start On a few days they said No no this is prima facie evidence of why this whole nonsense has to stop with mail in that Sometimes the best answer to this stuff is it's not about cheating per se although sometimes it is It's just about incompetency You know how do you wow you know things happen here at the shop How do you put the wrong code in Vis-à-vis the printer et cetera Doesn't that government have their own printer there I mean you know what in-house I'm just saying this is important stuff It's always important but particularly we're on a razor's edge here With the way this has gone since 2020 how much more of this can you go through Then the midterms are on the horizon All right let me go to John and vero beach Hey John welcome to the Jim bohannon show All right Dave in Decatur Texas Hey Dave welcome in Powder Hi Dave Okay There has been cheating and corruption and election since beginning of elections Okay The worst thing for the government is particularly the Republican Party is the apathy and complacency They have had 20 to 30 years to fix this elections and to get where they are As a good thing Well but wait a minute Dave Wait a minute Dave It's not the same old same old What's happened here is Democrats have used this big loophole because of COVID to drive us into a new system in many states the mail and bow at the Dropbox et cetera and that's what is provoking a whole new lack of trust in this We need to privatize it And if a government can't be trusted how well as a job a job is going to make some of that damn thing Well thank you Dave I'm an agreement So rather than privatizing it which would open up even though you can't you can imagine a conspiracy theories Here's the thing that you have to do All right it has to be public but you want to make it as easy as possible so that the government can only screw up in a more limited fashion That's what you're threading here as a needle You do mail in balloting like Lancaster county putting them at the top there on the national map It's starting to bubble up And I'm doing it here on a national show And they're going to screw up So as much as possible you want to keep this as simple as possible so that the elements in government that are screw ups that don't care that are monopolies that are protected one way or another can only do what they've always done limited damage You don't want to have something like this happening You can privatize it because then who is going to scrutinize the private entities that are doing it Even with the voting machines we already hear people go nuts I understand it because many times it's private entities And who are they beholden to in a close election et cetera all right Difficult So now it's not getting the government completely out of this it's limiting this so they're not as many moving parts This is only a primary in Pennsylvania I mean Republicans did turn out for a primary This was hotly contested on the Senate side They did vote in fairly large numbers but in a presidential election it would be a lot more And what I'm saying to you imagine if you're waiting to hear the ultimate swing state And Lancaster county said it was a screw up with a mail in ballots We have to get back to you tomorrow We gotta go home It's hard to believe This is that close out of over a million votes on the Republican primary And the consequence is not just who the nominee will be to determine who has control in the U.S. Senate but also this is a race where president Trump pushed all the chips in in this endorsement And it's going to be used by one side or another to say see the power of Trump or not You may think that's a small matter who cares but deep down you know perception and politics means a lot If I had a call it now smart money that's texting me think Doctor Oz will win ultimately here but it's unknowable They can't predict because of as I said how close this is there's going to be a recount and then you have Lancaster county The headline says yeah we'll have a decision there in a few days In a few days this is the mentality of the bureaucrat of government No bring in people you're going to work through the night You screwed up remarked the ballots starting at 8 o'clock tonight Once you notice it start doing it And let's say by three four in the morning I would think with the right team there in scrutiny you'll be running them through the scanners and you'll tell us what the totals are out of Pennsylvania Dutch country here And then that may determine who the winner is in this most if they're allowed to go home and tell people hey we're going to wait till tomorrow What's the big deal Just think about that Just think about this underlines too The mentality of government And the screw up factor is huge All right phone lines 8 6 6 50 Jimbo That gets you to me Here on the Jimbo handing show Who can you trust in the.

Amber Athey: Same Story if Trump-Endorsed Candidates Win or Lose

"Primary elections huge Of course amber they want to make everything about Trump but I mean he does it get involved in this cycle He doesn't make it about himself but he chooses Some candidates who run for office and win George W. Bush He kind of stays out generally of the process He's done a few events for camp but he isn't like really dig in Donald Trump said you know what I'm not done man I'm jumping in and I'll endorse who I want when I won You know what Good for him But there's a lot on the line for him He threw a lot of his weight behind mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania And that's not just it You got Madison Cawthorn in a really hot congressional race in North Carolina will know about today and Ted Budd in the Senate race in North Carolina too So yeah these candidates have a lot on the line but a lot for Trump for Trump too Definitely And there's always this narrative that emerges after a Trump endorsed race finishes up and if he happens to have that candidate lose all of a sudden it's proof that Trump has lost his power and the Republican Party and he's not the kingmaker anymore But if you win then you get the opposite article that's talking about how the GOP is a bunch of Trump cultists So it's really impossible for him to win Even if he wins he loses In this case It's so wrong I'm really curious about the Pennsylvania race because this candidate Cathy Barnett has had a really late surge in the polls and is apparently neck and neck with Doctor Oz and Dave McCormick So I think that's the one to watch I have a couple of friends down in North Carolina right now working with Ted bud and it looks like he's going to just run away with this thing So I'll give you my eyes on Pennsylvania right now for sure

"Apparently neck and neck with Doctor Oz and Dave McCormick So I think that's the one to watch I have a couple of friends down in North Carolina right now working with Ted bud and it looks like he's going to just run away with this thing So I'll give you my eyes on Pennsylvania right now for sure You know you're such a astute political analyst Amber athey that the fact that a major radio station or cable news chat hasn't scooped you up is a stain on our movement Really you are so good That is such a brilliant point Trump can't win If his candidates go today I don't know how many endorse say ten or whatever is probably morbid Say he goes ten or 15 and no The maga cult fashion Literally Hitler And then if he loses they'll be like to see the GOP knew the whole time this guy was a maniac Like there's nothing this guy could do That was such a good point But yeah the North Carolina thing I agree My father lives down there and Carrie He told me that bud's got a pretty healthy lead but your general again you've got really good instincts on this stuff You're instincts on and if you don't want to make a prediction I understand I sense a ton of momentum behind Barnett The reason I say that is I leave my Facebook page open for listener comments And we get hundreds during the show I mean I'm just saying by listener response And again it's not a scientific survey folks I'm not even claiming anything close to But I get probably 99 messages about Kathy Barnett and maybe one about McCormick I just don't get any about us I'm not suggesting he's not going to win I have no dog in that fight I'm just saying the grassroots seems to have really got behind Kathy Barnett Yeah I think it's going to be really close I mean the last poll that I saw had her within the margin of error And candidates who served this late in the race in this close to election day tend to perform pretty well I think the biggest detriment to her is that she didn't really have a good fundraising system in place earlier on in the campaign just based on people on the ground in Pennsylvania who I talked to If she had had this type of momentum even just a couple of weeks before that first debate where she really showed up and kind of smoked Doctor Oz this would have been I think a running away victory for her But that Trump endorsement still really powerful So I'm really low to make a prediction here but man it's going to be fascinating to see what happens Yeah yeah it is I mean I'm the same way What does it matter Like I say all the time What did prediction will know tomorrow So and then secondly I generally try to stay out of primaries It's not some golden rule I mean I weighed in in Ohio because I felt very strongly about one particular candidate But you know what I think maybe because I've run before and I know what it's like I see all this hate directed it Barnett and then Oz and then McCormick and I got to tell you but I don't feel that I don't and maybe it's just the fact that I've run and putting your name on a ballot is a lot man your family gets attacked you get attacked Some of these people are coming out of money with their own pocket They're not doing it for the fame A lot of them are rich and famous already I mean my take is as Republicans like yeah of course vet them if there's negative information it's going to come out in a general anyway But if you noticed in Pennsylvania like it's got really really super nasty And I don't know I just don't dig that That's not my bowl of chili you know Yeah I agree I really rubs me the wrong way And when you see some of the specific attacks on Kathy Barnett it really seems like the people who are pushing these have like a really vested interest in destroying her And as assertive that just doesn't feel right to me Especially there's photos of her She happens to be at the January 6th rally There's no indication that she was involved in the riot part of it or that she was in the capitol And yet somehow that's been used as an indictment against her as a candidate I was at the January 6th rally Dan I was there covering it as a reporter but it's a photo gets out of me being there Is that somehow What's the problem That's not a fair attack to me No no not at all I mean there was just a rally in D.C. this week for pro abortion folks whether we're talking about the summer of rage You don't see the FBI like doxxing them and putting folks you have the right to assemble I mean the left should read the constitution amber I'm almost out of time We're talking to amber ate the again the podcast unfit to print available Apple and Spotify please help amber out She's incredible She's at the spectator as well She's really really a great commentator And her voice was really important going forward Last topic for you today you're good on everything This inflation crisis is out of control I mean it's the most regressive tax around But I really sorry today in the free Beacon Again just showing you how out of touch this administration is They want to spend 5 billion on bike paths And I'm thinking like okay Listen sadly in the grand scheme of things 5 billion sadly is not a lot in the grand scheme of federal spending because we already waste so much money But it's the point Bike paths like bro really people are paying $75 for a gallon of gas because you spend money you don't have And you want to build bike paths around the country Can you get people to fill up their tanks for a day I've never seen an administration so out of touch with the middle class This guy's no Bill Clinton with messaging No it is honestly unbelievable And meanwhile they have this baby formula shortage where people are struggling for hours just to find enough food to feed their babies And when you ask the Biden administration about it the.

It's Election Day in Pennsylvania; Who Holds the Edge?

"Morning, glory, America, don't go high candidate who you at live inside the beltway on this election day in Pennsylvania, Tuesday, may 17th, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today in Pennsylvania. I've heard all over the state from Scranton and all the way up in the northern northeastern corner down to Philadelphia. All the way over to Pittsburgh and up to Erie, and I encourage everyone to go and vote for David McCormick for the United States Senate. I also think Lou Bart, let barletta is a much easier to elect candidate. I don't think mister mastriano can win. I know David McCormick can win. I don't think any of the other people can win if you're going to vote for Kathy. Barnett, or Doctor Oz, I think you were throwing your vote away because they can't beat John fetterman. And this election matters so much because if McCormick doesn't get the nomination, we're going to have a very hard time getting the Senate back. In Republican hands and then confirmation of Supreme Court Justices will remain in Chuck Schumer's hands. The opportunity to break the filibuster will remain in Chuck Schumer's hand. It's vitally important to elect David McCormick. The bronze star recipient graduate of West Point grew up outside of Pittsburgh. He built business in Pittsburgh, built jobs in Pittsburgh. He's a Pittsburgh. And so this goes against migraine to say nice things about a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I mean, steelers forever with McCormick, but Dave McCormick's a great American and when you're a West Point graduate and you receive the bronze star for valor in the 82nd airborne in the first Gulf War, you can trust the character.

"Barnett a mystery person What do you mean by that I called Kathy Barnett a mystery because every time she answers a question she raises a bunch more questions She's not transparent about so many aspects of a basic biography that we don't know who she is Would Kathy Barnett be a risky bet for Republicans in November Well listen I've gotten to know Kathy on the campaign tribe respect her story But Kathy's been tested She was tested in the last 24 months in a congressional seat which she lost by 20 points So you get a sense there of what they think here Greg with regard to voters Are they as clueless as most of the mainstream media Kathy Barnett in many cases wouldn't answer questions on Fox News Sunday yesterday even about being an adjunct professor Yes certainly attracted a lot of scrutiny for things she said And in this case many things she doesn't say or question she doesn't answer That could come to her in the winning days of the campaign Just to remains to be seen whether the attacks by Oz and Dave McCormick And they're super PACS which have spent millions of dollars on attack ads The question is will it be enough to kind of stand or at least prevent her from rising further in the polls It looks like it's still a pretty close three way race that we tweeted McCormick and Barnett I wish I had time to go through all these states with you Greg Just in our remaining 30 seconds is the Madison Cawthorn race in North Carolina the next one you're watching That's the biggest one I'm watching He faces several primary challenges led by state senator chuck Edwards But there are also some several House members who have other serious challenges including Kurt Schrader and Oregon Democrat And Mike Simpson and the Republicans from Idaho I'll get together Wednesday talk it out Greg You'll see what you're thinking then It's primary day tomorrow This is Bloomberg Three Ho Progressive snapshot can save you money based on how you drive and how much you drive So the safer.

Who Is the Front Runner in the PA Senate Primary?

"Is Dave McCormick going to be able to win with a closing kick tomorrow in the Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary as I have judged him the only Republican capable of beating John fetterman in the fall. Well, you're right. He is the only candidate to beat fetterman in the poll. I don't know, did you see yesterday to John fetterman have stroke? I did. I saw this morning his comments that he's fully recovered and no mental damage. And that is good news. Yeah, I chatted with, yeah, he's fine. But anyways, so I had thought all along that McCormick would pull it out, even when Trump endorsed Oz, even when Trump came in and held his rally, which had less than a thousand people at it. And but then he went scorched earth on McCormick. And when he went scorched earth on the cormick, Oz rally was used that as an ad in the net drove up McCormick's negatives, which he had barely any that made Barnett run and she rose up last week, like an insurgent candidate tends to do, but I think she peaked Wednesday and started to fall under the scrutiny.

Why Kathy Barnette Is Unelectable

"Now Dave McCormick, I've watched the race very, very closely. I've had every candidate on except Doctor Oz who has repeatedly turned down opportunities to come on this program, which usually evidences to me that don't know what they're doing on the conservative side of the issues. But I am now concerned, Kathy Barnett is rising in the polls, and she's a nice lady. I had her on the show. She got sparkling charisma, but in the last couple of days, the Philadelphia inquirer has under her tweets and her record and I don't think it's a Christina O'Donnell situation that Todd akin situation, how much does electability matter to Pennsylvania primary voters? Well, listen, I've gotten to know Kathy on the campaign trail. And I respect and admire her personal story. But she's been tested already. She was tested a little less than two years ago when she ran for a congressional seat in Pennsylvania and she lost by 20 points. And so listen, the stakes on this are so high for the general election because it will be the biggest race in the country. We need a candidate, a Republican candidate that has credibility has been tested at a deeply vetted and assembled a resources in the team necessary to win. This is like this is going to the Super Bowl.

Trump Endorses Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania Senate Race

"There are three other candidates. Each one of whom has been on the radio show and each one of them impresses me in a different way. Most recently, Dave McCormick was, I mean, the bronze star recipient, and an 82nd airborne guy in West Point. He drips credentials out, do the other two. But Doctor Oz, what was president Trump thinking? I don't know. And if you look at the statement, it's really sort of telling. It says that he supported him because he was, you know, he told him that he looked like he was in good health. And that he was a celebrity on television. Then he lists his hard work degree in New York Times bestselling books. Those are not things that matter to conservatives in Pennsylvania. Look, these voters are jacked up to turn out to vote in May. And we even more so in November.

"We have Dave McCormick a candidate for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania which is critical How are you Dave Hey Mark how you doing I'm doing great How's the campaign going You know it's going well I'm driving across the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in my pickup truck and I'm going to fire homes and VFW's and diners And everywhere I go I hear despair and anger about the direction of the country I think people are really waking up to the need to grab our country back And I think they noticed that the stakes couldn't be higher And that there's not time they need leadership in there where they can hit the ground running and there's no time for on the job training So I'm getting lots of good validation as someone who's a combat vet and spent a lot of my life almost a decade fighting the communists whether they're Chinese communists or Russian communists And someone who's done experience so going head to head with China and Russia and sort of has an understanding of the crisis we see at this moment And someone who's built businesses and created jobs and experienced firsthand the damage government can do And it is going at this moment And then finally someone who's not beholden but committed to really radical change I think people are fed up and they want some people in Washington who are going to make a real difference But look at this issue of inflation Dave McCormick where we have Biden blaming Putin Now I despise Putin But inflation was occurring before Biden excuse me before Putin invaded Ukraine I mean how are we ever going to get this thing under control if we don't tell the truth Yeah I think this spin on gas prices in this spin on inflation that the Biden administration doing is so duplicitous And let's face it We have inflation because of the unbelievable fiscal surge that's taking place under the Biden administration We have inflation because of the energy policies which have driven up the price of fuel which is embedded in the cost of most things And we have inflation because of easy easy monetary policy which should have led to President Biden to replace J Powell And that accountability rests squarely on the shortage of the president and we didn't have this problem under the last administration and we've taken a very dangerous turn in economic policy that needs to be changed Now you worked at treasury for a period of time So you do understand these issues correct I do Yeah I mean you know I'd say I've got a good combination of someone who's been involved in economic policy at the highest levels of our government and understands what's going on and understands the need to really project and advance U.S. interest abroad But I also know economic policy for someone who's built businesses and created jobs and that's important because you realize how quickly and easily the government can screw things up And energy policy mark is an area which is really near and dear to my heart because Pennsylvania is one of the great energy producers in the world If Pennsylvania were a country it would be the fourth largest natural gas reserves in the world And single handedly By the way I think a lot of people realize this It's remarkable The resources the bountiful resources of Pennsylvania we can unlock that energy economy in a way that is great for our energy workers in Pennsylvania and throughout the country Great for our national security because we need to be energy dominant People talk about being energy independent We need to be energy dominant We in this country and we in Pennsylvania are blessed with the capacity to do that And then the great irony of this mark is that the natural gas of Pennsylvania is the cleanest in the world And so by unlocking Pennsylvania you really have great economic and environmental benefits and here we are today with tankers in Boston harbor with Russian oil and gas and from other parts of the world that's replacing what would have been natural gas from Pennsylvania that's cleaner and better for us economically And this is a good example of just government policy Ghana amok in pursuit of environmental goals that were not achieving and at the expense of our economy and our security And on immigration I just want to circle back to that I mean an open border particularly when you see what's going on all over the world right now and the effect that it has on working men and women in this country and so forth and the fentanyl Give us your take on this Yeah listen as I said I've gone to almost the majority of the counties in Pennsylvania and done these meetings Over and over again border Kept coming up What about the program Why Because they open border policies of Joe Biden have had a terrible impact on the communities in Pennsylvania The fentanyl that's coming into the Commonwealth has doubled We had 5000 fentanyl deaths last year in Pennsylvania One of the worst states in the country for fentanyl gas fentanyl addiction and it's coming from the southern border Makes its way to the northeast in two days And it's the same with crime which is a big problem in our sanctuary cities like Philadelphia and that crime is moving to the suburbs So people in Pennsylvania feel like they are a border state And so I wanted to see for myself So about two weeks ago maybe three I went to Yuma And I spent a day on the border that's a 152 miles strip I suspect you've been there Mark and I met with the border patrol The sheriff the mayor the farmers on the border And however bad it looks in the pictures of television it is worse In the sector that I was in a year from now a year ago we had about 30 illegal immigrants a day that were processed by the border patrol and submitting for asylum and so forth We have about a thousand today It's absolutely overwhelming And we have another three to 500 in that sector that the border patrol thinks comes across the border every day And to my surprise Mark and you may have known this They're not Mexicans or central Americans more than half of them are from other parts of the world Uzbekistan Russia And they come because this is a way into our country They're mostly managed by the cartels It has huge national security implications huge implications for the drug trade in our country the prostitution rings and so forth all enabled by an open border policy that is shameless and irresponsible in every way And as bad as I thought it was it was honestly worse when I saw it up close and personal And just a final point on this I said to said to someone one of the board of choices one I'm assuming if we can leave the magic one what you need more money And they say wouldn't the more money Money is not the issue The issue is we need a fundamental turnabout in the policies and end the catch and release to go back to the policies that were in place under president Trump which led to the most secure border in decades Now your view Dave McCormick of Biden using Russia and China to negotiate another nuclear deal with Iran What do you make of that Yeah I think it is so emblematic of something that I know you said and I said it at the time But when Biden orchestrated the debacle in Afghanistan Which was absolutely a humiliation for America It was a incompetence It was a lack of accountability It invited tyrants around the world to test us And I said that at the time I was not I was not alone There were many people to say at the time And sadly we're being tested We're being tested by Russia as we speak we're being tested by Iran and its aggressive behavioral retested by North Korea and its missile test We're being tested by China in its aggressive behavior in the South China Sea And it comes from a naive view almost a random walk through the world in terms of the Biden foreign policy There's no framework There's.

"The Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania which affects each and every one of us David people want to support you or help you where do they go They can go to Dave McCormick PA dot com And you'll find a lot more about my campaign there You also see the Super Bowl ad that I ran which got a lot of attention Mark you may have seen it but it was really sort of a play off of the let's go Brandon Which there's been such outrage about that and my question in the ad is where's the outrage about the 40 year high inflation the rampant crime in our cities the spike in traffic in the fentanyl and the disgraceful lack of accountability for the 13 service members that died in Afghanistan Where's the outrage So the ad captures that it's gotten a lot of attention Now when it comes to foreign policy you look at what Russia is doing You look at what's going on with Iran how we're bending over backwards Xi looks like he's on the move What do you make of all this Well listen it goes back to the basic lessons you and I learned on the playground which is that if you show weakness the bully is going to test your weakness test you And that's what's happening I think with Afghanistan but a number of other things but Afghanistan in particular the Biden administration showed weakness it showed a lack of strategic clarity a lack of strength and will be tested for being tested by Putin Putin's moves were also encouraged by the approval of the Nord stream two pipeline by the nuclear deal that the Biden administration did right when this came into office But we're also seeing as you say Iran we're seeing North Korea We're seeing China They're all moving in the direction to test America's straits because they believe that we don't have strong leadership at our home And that's a real problem that we're going to have to navigate in the near term and we're going to have to replace him and the weak leadership in the medium term You're a combat veteran correct Yes sir How many combat veterans are running in this primary on the Republican side There's no other combat veterans running in the primary There's another Kathy Barnett who is a veteran and a memorize is running but nebula is a surge in the Turkish military And so I'm the only I'm the only combat veteran And I think that matters because that commitment to service that I've demonstrated is emblematic of the kind of leadership operating in the Senate which is I recognize it's not about me I recognize it's about the people that I represent and I plan to bring that kind of duty on our country orientation that I learned at West Point to my duties in the sense Let me ask you a tough question here Dave the United States Senate the Republican leaders Mitch McConnell There are different elements within the Republican Party in the United States Senate If you feel you need to stand up to the Republican leadership Will you have the guts to stand I'm not saying look for a fight but will you have the guts to stand up to the Republican leadership We look at Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and Rand Paul and some others What do you think Yeah listen if you're sitting where I'm sitting and you make the decision to give up the career I had to come run for the Senate The privilege And I view it as a privilege to build run and to represent the people of Pennsylvania I'm not doing this to be part of the club I'm doing this to make a difference I'm doing this to kick butt to push back on the terrible set of policies that we see I've got no obligation to anyone I'm not the whole to anyone I'm a self made person And I'll come with that orientation I'm going to terminate it myself to two terms I'm going to come with the explicit goal of making a difference pushing back on everything that I think doesn't make sense And being a real leader Being a real leader and a real fighter for the people of Pennsylvania I can already help in my time on the road across our Commonwealth that's what they want That's what they need That's what the job is and that's what I'll do And being a senator's being one of a hundred and the old timers there what I hear is that in both parties the leadership they expect these young whippersnappers to just get along you know some have been there 6 terms for crying out loud Your term limiting yourself to term limits you said two terms you're not going to have time to just go along are you You don't have time to go along And listen I think you share my belief based on what I've read you've written and what I've heard you say I think we're at a crisis we're at a moment where the issues facing our leaders are enormously complex The stakes are high and I would expect to be a real leader on those complex issues I have a unique combination of military background and deep understanding of national security a deep understanding of economic policy someone who's created jobs at two companies And that's where you're really that's where our strategic focus is It's that the intersection of economics and intersection of national security And I expect to be a real leader I don't think seniority as a thing I've learned in business is that seniority is where the good ideas necessarily are It's a good idea to wear the good ideas are So I'll be someone who will fight for those ideas someone who will be independent And I want to say one other thing Mark because I just give a your career I've been spending the last ten minutes telling you all the things that are going wrong in our country and I deeply believe those I think the stakes could not be higher But at the same time I'm an optimist I'm a happy warrior And the reason I'm a happy warrior is this is what's happened over and over again in America We've gotten ourselves to the edge of the cliff and we found a way through it and you and I both remember well 1979 is an example where we had double vision inflation and we had malaise and we had Jimmy Carter and desert one And the country gas lines around the block OPEC having us in a vise grip And three years later I remember walking the halls at West Point It was morning in America And Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan and the Reagan revolution brought dramatic changes to our country that you were part of that took us in a completely different direction And leadership matters And so I would hope to be someone who could be part of that revolution I think we're primed for revolution I think the bad ideas of our current administration are showing the direction for our future which is the opposite direction and I'm hoping that I could be part of that is Pennsylvania's next editor Now Donald Trump has not endorsed anybody in the Republican.

"That then there's going to be tremendous push back What's going to happen with the omarova professor O'Malley nomination To be determined if you saw the confirmation hearing you heard Democrat senators expressing serious reservations I'm quite confident there would be no Republican support for her confirmation And it would take only one democratic senator to cause her nomination to fail So we don't know yet But I'm hopeful that The White House will reconsider and come up with another nominee You've decided you don't want to serve another term You're going to slow it down You've paid your dues and you stepped down And some people are getting interested in that seat It turns out Doctor Oz is interested The reports that Dave McCormick Bridgewater has said now he's going to decide within the next few weeks where he runs as well Somebody who has served in the government before Do you have any sense about who it should be If it's a Republican No I haven't taken sides in this We also have candidates who have been in the race for a while Carlos Sainz and Jeff bartos for instance Look I think the way this is shaping up is that Republicans have an embarrassment of riches We have some terrifically qualified enormously capable very impressive people And that probably leads to a really robust primary and I have no idea how that turns out at this point But I'm pretty confident I'm feeling pretty good about the prospects that whoever emerges from this competitive primer what I expect to be a competitive primary who will be a really good general election candidate and will hold the seat And what will that take in Pennsylvania because Pennsylvania is I don't think of it as a blue state or a red state particularly It could be up for grad What would it take to have a Republican prevail rather than Democrat So I think what is going to take certainly you've got to appeal to suburban voters Those are the swing voters right In the core of our cities the Democrats are going to do well in the rural areas Republicans are going to do well And the suburbs are the swing votes So you have to have a message that appeals to suburban voters And I think it's very the environment we're in right now There is a very very widespread backlash against what I think is a tremendous overreach on the part of this administration and the Democrats in Congress So I think suburban voters are very receptive to a Republican message Someone who can appeal to them is going to win Pennsylvania Senator it's really great to have you here with us in New York I hope you have a good holiday pat toomey from Pennsylvania.
