"We're kind of at the mercy of now. It wasn't my fault for You know, maybe trying to punch it up too much. Yeah, I probably just need to lay back and and wait and wait and wait until we're absolutely 100%. Sure. Uh, you know, I probably should have learned that by now. Well, I don't know. I thought it was, too. I mean, again, like we all were watching the game and we're experiencing what you are. I felt terrible for you guys well before that even happened because I'm like there's like What can you do? There's nothing to Yeah. Do you really shouldn't feel any really shouldn't feel terrible for us. I mean, it's not. It's not great, but I think one thing through all of this that we've understood and we're all of us really appreciate. It is our fans, viewers listeners. Understand that it's not perfect, and we are going to make a few mistakes or have some calls that are weirder than they would be otherwise. And, you know, maybe some of the most exciting moments aren't always going to sound super exciting for that very reason. If we were in person, maybe we'd be able to really punch it up or be right on top of it. And and everybody's been understanding of that. So I don't think you need to feel too bad for us. Because because we We appreciate that everybody's cutting us a lot of slack while I tell you who I also feel bad for us. Whoever has got to make this decision. So, uh Anthony DeSclafani and Evan Longoria when they're ready. What roster move Are you making? Um, you know, that's a hard call. Yeah, The Giants are right now carrying an extra bullpen arm. And so I think you know, you're definitely going to see one. At least one reliever will be back down. It's possible. That, too, could be, although that's less likely as the season turns on, you're seeing Giant starting pitchers needing more and more help, and that's totally understandable. So, uh, you know, those are the big picture decisions the Giants have to make. What do we want this roster to look like how many position players Versus how many pictures once you do that. Uh, yeah. I mean, it's tough because you know you're already thinking Duggar and Estrada earned their the right to stay here and they're not here anymore. So once you've done those two, uh, you know that it's getting a little tight. One thing that I will say is, these things do have a tendency to work themselves out. Sometimes whether somebody else needs a blow, whether somebody you know the quad is sore for some, whatever it is, these things do have a tendency to kind of Sort themselves out. What's really going to be interesting is in September, when there are only two extra spots. It's probably not going to feel like September. It's going to feel like a normal month. Where if you need an extra body at any point, you're going to have to make moves. And so they're going to. You know, the Giants are gonna have to figure out a way. To keep just any instance of pictures. You know, they're at to keep several guys ready and sort of game ready even if minor league games aren't being played for those players. So that if they need to make a move in September, an actual move, not just okay, We have a roster of 35 guys. But, hey, we need another arm. We need the option or I l or whatever. That's going to be a little more complicated this year. 71 41. Then here come the D backs and the Rockies for for the weekend. A big week, right? Because I know a lot was made of the the schedule over the last Three weeks or so, If you look at what's coming after this week, Wow. I mean, you know it's another murderer's row, and there's no Colorado or Arizona or anything tucked in there. So what kind of importance do you put on this week? Yes. After this weekend is over you go. I would say what you know, 123 weeks in a row of every single game you players against the playoff contender, so that doesn't mean I mean, the Mets aren't a great team. The Braves are a great team. But those teams are fighting hard and every game is really important to those two. And so you're playing playoff kind of games for three weeks straight after This week. Yeah, these are important, especially getting him at home. These are too vulnerable teams that are not as talented as they were at the start of the year, and they weren't that talented to begin with. So let's see if they can take advantage. Today is a good day for an off day just to try to get rested and And and feel good going into those games because the Giants needed a breather. I mean, it's kind of hard to believe they had one update since the All Star break until today. That was a hard push for this team. Considering the quality of opponent so today came at a really good time. Yes, no doubt about it. Appreciate you jumping on for us during that day before you go. How about a big finish yet for it? Sure, of course, Of course. Here it is. It's Dave Fleming on the big finish..

"And Dave Fleming starts explaining to us I may not make it to the end of this ballgame because I've got to go call another baseball game prompted a pretty funny conversation between J. T Snow and John Miller said. Yeah, he just he loves baseball. This is gave Miller John Miller said. This is a marquee day for David David. He loves to work. Here's Dave Fleming on KNBR, letting the listeners know what the situation is and why it is that he may not be on the post game wrap interest of full disclosure here. We do have a very unusual situation and most of you know we're playing shorthanded these days, so I'm alone here on our Giants radio broadcast, John and JT over on the television side. This game is the longest game that we've had in two years. I don't know what our post game show is going to sound like on radio. I'm not sure But it probably will not have the sound of my voice involved. In this strange pandemic time. I have another game to do tonight, and we figured we had plenty of time. But the game starts in an hour and 15 minutes. Here's a pitch. Hi, Mike Hawkman, Ball one. I'm doing it from my house. On television, My home studio kid. But it never occurred to any of us that this game would would go on like this. This is a five hour game in Anaheim. Even with the new extra inning rule. Hawkman takes high too, and oh, Junior Garrett can't throw a strike. So Again. This is uncharted territory. For all of us. We obviously I don't want to abandon the Giants game broadcast, but we're just going to have to see what happens to owe pitched. Hawkman swings and misses Strike one. Oh, Anyway. Some moments of little anxiety, not just from us here, but also folks in Bristol, Connecticut. Charlotte, North Carolina. Petco Park in San Diego. It's a Dodgers Padres game that I'm supposed to work tonight to one pitch is swung on and missed Strike two. Two and two to talk man. So anyway. Stay tuned, just loving dude. First of all, what a pro to be like. I love that. He's like talking through his stress and anxiety. While talking has taken this bad by the way ball to to talk man there. He's gonna foul that one back seconds after, he says, Stay tuned my talk and hits the three run home run. It was seconds after the end of that clip. One of my favorite parts of this is this is the 13th inning of a near five hour game. Dave Flemming was totally solo on the call. He did play by play. He did color. He was in his own booth at Oracle Park. Just vibing on his own thinking about how am I gonna do this Dodgers Padres game tonight? How am I going to get get home in time for this? Knowing San Francisco traffic is kind of picked back up again, and he's still doing a heck of a job calling the Giants name. He's just one of the best. I mean, I'm a day Fleming guy anyway, he's gotten state living head. They Fleming head. He's gotten better and better like if that was possible. From where he was anyway, but hearing him.

"If you believe that the weather can be predicted using Pennsylvania, Dutch superstitions and a giant rodent that in no way, shape or form wants to participate in this exercise. The ground outside shadow today, and, uh, I mean, we get six more weeks. Of winter. Road Hog day. What's the tawny? Phil? Where you go? If you're saying Don't drive angry, don't drive angry. I'm saying just that that that rat does not want to be a part of it. It never looks excited to be grabbed out of that hole and then held up like, uh, Like Simba in the Lion King to a bunch of mouth breathers going on. Look at that giant red saw its shadow. What are you hearing tradition. This is this has to be one of the weirder American traditions. Oh, without a doubt without a crazy animal sees it's shadow. Then what? More more more winter? Three more weeks of winter? Is that what it is? 66 more weeks? And here in California, like, you know, I think we've already had our coldest weather yesterday to me Felt like you know, Spring is right around the corner. So Yeah. You can make all the people back there. Mad going home, man. We're gonna have six more weeks of 58 degree that socks Damn Hey, where they're gonna be so nice this weekend, Dave Fleming thinking about going out and purchasing the supplies to make himself an outdoor television viewing spot in, uh, in his backyard. So, uh, anybody shorts and go for a bike ride here. One that saw.

"$30 million a year. I'm with Sam. I think they're gonna battle for a playoff spot. I think they're gonna battle for 789 right around in there. If they get to the six spot, that'll be a hell of a job by Steve his staff and the entire team. I'm just not sure they have enough skill. Enough shooting to be able to do it, and that's a really good defensively and Wiseman's much better than we think he's gonna be in his rookie year. Like if he comes out, and he just a stud like he's a guy. Well, then maybe you have a guy that you know, plays like a $20.20 million dollars your player on a rookie salary. Okay, Now you're on to something. But other than that, I don't know. It was gonna be a lot of surprises out there. Wiseman could be That surprised. I think is gonna have to be that surprises a lot to put on a young guy and I don't expect it. But to have a really good year like you know, 45 in the West that that that's what I'll have to happen. We're gonna have to have somebody jump out and surprise you and just be a big time difference maker that you didn't think was a big time difference maker. All right, coming up. We're gonna talk a little baseball game tight little college football. So Dave Fleming thinks of the college football, latest college football rankings, and who knows where the Bowl games are going? Who knows that there's gonna be Rosabal this year. Really? Who knows what they're gonna be Anything then? None of us know that you do It's day today. Game the game moving on Who can play? Who tested? Are we good? Are we not good? We're good. No, we're not good anymore. So Who knows what's happening. We're talking about what's going on in college football and major League baseball up next. "Because that stuff that No one told he puts together I mean, coaches don't even I mean you're worried about your own position, your side of the ball. You're just going. Everyone's putting everything into it, and then you just crushed when it doesn't work out. Then you gotta move on to the next week, But I think it's very important when you go into a game beyond so confident. That doesn't go the way that you want. You better take the time and show the guys that because only other people tell him and don't try to be asked him either. Put the tape on offense and defense and have the whole team watch it and show each side of the ball. What happened not to call people out, educate people and be like guys. This is why you want a moose. This is why you can win a game 3 to 0. It's also where you can win a game 50 to 45. It really doesn't matter. I want to win. Whatever the game dictates. I wanted to have the ability for us to win. However, we need to win and I think we can win a low scoring game. And I think we can win a high scoring game on and that was a game that we had to win as a high scoring game, and we didn't get that done and their specific reasons why Or let you go. I want to let you know. I think your wife and my wife have something in common that all the holidays are a reason to give gifts. And I was like, When did this start? When do we start Giving like Christmas? Give something Mr. Like Easter morning, right. It used to be the chocolate Easter Bunny and some Easter eggs and some jelly beans. And now it's turned into it. Get Christmas part two. I was like, what happened. Wait, hold on a minute. Nobody told me this is a woman Did this start happening? It throws me off because she doesn't tell me either. And when I have people coming up, and thank you mean the first stuff. It's very awkward for me because I have no clue what they're talking about. Do you fake it there or do you do you just go with it? You just just lay down and be a guy. I have no idea. Have a hard time taking it so they can tell probably before you don't talk to my face that I have no clue, but man, he didn't always do that. I think she's worried that things she wants to make sure people are liking me in office. So she's trying to help me out. Another quality control coach is gonna make you look it. We always appreciate the time. Thank you so much. Best luck. I mean, just take care of being on the road and we'll talk to you soon. All right, guys talking to guys touching, appreciated. Look great. She wants everybody liked him. Here's some gifts. It's Columbus Day here did I don't even know if that exists anymore. Thanks to the cash, Kyle. Thanks for the $5 gift card was incredible. What? What? What? What happened? Alright, coming up coming up more of Krug. And Tolbert feel still is going to do anything about a half an hour. We'll get some college football takes from Phil. And then Dave Fleming will join us at 4 30 right here in the sports later what.

"Both this weekend. He's on the UMA guest line. Dave Fleming. Slim. I'm going to start by saying this buddy Larry Bear get is better get his checkbook out because your work on the Gulf was outstanding, My friend. I think it's time to exert a little leverage on Larry's Somebody I think Murph wants. I think he wants to represent you. So maybe you guys can work out an agreement after Yeah. You did great and great. And it was great to have you at Harding Park, Man. You play golf right in that little corner of the woods, man and congratulations, man. Good morning. Thank you. Thank you for saying that. And it was just a great coincidence for me personally. That My first PGA. The 1st 1 that ESPN you No way have this new deal in play, so we get to Cover. So much of the PGA now and the first one's in San Francisco at a place that I love. So I mean, that is such a cool coincidence. It was really fun for me to be there. So thank you for saying that I just had a blast and you should have. You should have grilled Nance about why didn't he find a baseball game to do in the way we did hit him on the speaking of leverage. We hit him on the Michelson thing, because I mean Phil's turn off boy in the booth was left a mark. People still buzzing about it. For sure, Phil was was very, very good. And you know, there's a whole different question about whether Phil would be very good if he did it every week or even, you know regularly, but I was impressed with Phil, and it's hard not to be impressed with Bill. He's smart. He thinks about the game. He's current. He's fresh. He's playing these golf courses was cool to hear his perspective. It was for sure. And just give us a little bit about listen. It was it was such a fantastic experience to see Harding shine and yet That incomplete feeling of San Franciscans and Bay Area people couldn't be there, although they lined up along that were said Boulevard, which was fun as heck. What was your perspective of the I think Nick fellow called it a bunch of a bunch of bees with no buzz. What was your perspective on the on the world's best with no noise? Yes, well, I think golf has has sort of survive this and managed to figure out an alternate Teo are normal reality. Better than any sports. I mean, I think golf has done a great job with this, and that's part of partly maybe even mostly just due to the nature of the sport itself. Yesterday and Saturday. For the days where I thought, you know. Gosh, we do really miss the fans. Because look major championship Sunday, the roars and the roars echoing from different parts of the course. I mean, that's just a big part of what we all love about Big time Championship golf. So, Yeah, it's not perfect, but I'm just tickled that we had a big event and pulled it off and everybody did it safely. On DH Harding seemed to me to just be I'm with you. I am so impressed with the way that golf course played and the way the championship played out. I thought the weather ended up being perfect to set it up, right? So, look, we missed the fans in San Francisco. Golf bands are great, You know, totally underrated golf fans out here, and I think it would have been. Can you imagine, you know, not just following Tiger and all the regulars. But can you imagine more cholera and the reaction he would have gotten Yesterday playing the way that he did I I'm sorry We missed that. But I feel 100% confident that we're going to get another championship of that back at Harding part because I cannot imagine that those people walked away thinking. Yeah, that was okay. I mean, I think they had to be thrilled with the way Harding showed out this week. I know can be are on the Giants and we'll get into the Gausman and Kappler and everything the Dodgers, but just, you know, it's so great to see you and you travel around the country and you grew up in a different part of the country. I am extremely partial to San Francisco Golf. I love the purity, whether it's Olympic Club or Harding Park or labor said or Lincoln Park or Sharp Park or San Francisco Golf Club. There is a purity to San Francisco. Golf. No manmade nonsense. No, no phony baloney stuff. You're playing the earth and I think it's different. Make Monterey it comes to mind. Also, the eastern tip of Long Island comes to mind. But But that's what I loved is that that San Francisco golf in its purest form tested the best day for sure on and you know, there are two things for me that were the most fun about this week. Aside from just being a part of it. Number one was more college 16th hole yesterday, which I believe will go down in history as one of the greatest golf shots of all time. Wow. Ah, and you know whether you want to argue Larry Mize is chip in Tiger's chip in AA. You know, tigers Auditory pines Jack's one iron Ben Hogan's one Iron Marco was on that list. Ah, if that I've just was speechless, and I think that shot will be remembered for a long, long time. My second favorite thing about it was walking around Tuesday and Wednesday with the players, you know, because I mean, one thing about no fans was even the practice rounds were just like It was just us out there with the players. And so we were walking around talking to these guys and watching him hit and talking to their caddies. When that happens, it practice rounds, but this was like There's nothing else for them to do, but to Yap with us, So it was like it was a great insight into how these guys prepare and whatnot and the astonishment for so many of them of how How short the ball was traveling. How different that yardages work for their clubs from the week before, and they're adjustments to San Francisco and the climate and the air, and they were literally 15 anywhere from like. 5 to 15%. Shorter, depending on the club mean just gigantic differences in how far the ball was traveling, and I loved it. I to me, that's great. It challenged the players. It made him really think out there and that's a part of what you're talking about. So it's not just that It's not tricked up and you don't have to do anything but Sort of play the elements and the grasses as they occur out here. You don't have to try too hard, which is awesome, but It's also that it's a different game. These guys they're so used to. I don't want to call him spoiled because they're awesome. They're great players, but they're so used to these pristine conditions where you know between their equipment and the climate. The balls just fly in and the game becomes easier for him and you get him out here and it's a little bit harder and I don't want to torture him, but it's nice to see him struggle is something that's a little bit harder, Totally well said, beautifully said. In fact, Morikawa is before the chip in on 14..

At Dodger Stadium nap tonight, We will have Game two of the Siri's Tyler Rogers will be the opener for the Giants. Mike Fires on the mound for the A's big office of Euro last night was Austin Slater. He had a two run double to right center. With an inside inside out stroke in the seventh that give the Giants of five to lead. He had a three run double earlier in the game. Awesome. Slater definitely the star of last night's game. The Raiders have signed Henry Rugs to a four year, $16.6 million contract. Well officially signed the dotted line when he arrives for camp in a few days, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette is reporting. "Amanda and I am part of our client relations team at the giants all handed over to Dave Fleming thank you Amanda I'm glad we have a show again this week last week we just thought there were too many things going on on the world too many important conversations and so we decided to take a week off to what does happen those conversations obviously will continue to happen but tonight we get to talk baseball again I think we're all excited about that particularly because tomorrow is a really big day for the giants tomorrow is the start of a two day draft it's gonna be a different draft than usual and the four of us guys are going to pretend to be trapped experts tonight but we have a good show lined up we have Scott Harris James GM who's gonna join us in just a minute we have hundred bishop who is the giants first round pick up out of Arizona state in last year's draft to talk about what that experience was like for him so I think we can get a good handle on what's going to happen tomorrow and before we welcome and Scott I mean I think the four of us can agree that number one it's great to see each other again and talk more baseball number two those J's championships and we all remember so well were built on the draft and so I think we all know how important tomorrow night can be for the future the giants organization saw I'm excited to talk about a little bit tonight and watch it tomorrow so anyway good to see you guys always great to see you today it's always I I in all honesty I miss being in the same room with you I I do I miss you guys I do hi John good to see you both I miss you you know these chalk talks we've had weekly that's the highlight of my week this is fun to talk ball of buddies and with that let's let's let's see if we can demand that Scott here exchange GM and just get started to talk about the draft yeah John's going to be the Beamer well look it just happened like that welcome to the show Scott how are your he's gotten good looking forward to being in the same room as you guys yes yes Sir just second it's we we can't wait M. maybe will be in the room that you're in because you got a really nice chandelier yeah you like it yeah I got it where are you exactly you did do into on the right field wall yeah the Gotham club just so you already when you're the winner for the night you're in the Gulf of you guys all day are they serving or not sorry I'm sorry by myself he he he he but you guys are pretty famous they might start serving you guys show up it's a great backdrop good job just turn the volume up they can hear our voices of thinking games gonna come rushing into her so are you you you're we're the draft starts tomorrow would we might ask you some other not draft questions but are you guys all prepared and ready to go no not yet we will be I do want to focus really really quickly on a non non baseball topic right I just think it's top of mind for all of us right now and I know Amanda gave us a great intro just wanted to share a few thoughts on the events of the past couple weeks I just personally found them so tragic and just wanted to offer some condolences to the families of of George Floyd Riana Taylor Ahmad armory and of all the names of racism and social inequities in in our country over the past you know hundreds of years if we're being honest and so I just personally like I know people on this fall I just found that it's it's difficult to focus on baseball right now is events such as the draft adding they're just trivial compared to the challenges that are our nation is facing right now but I've also found them to be an opportunity for introspection hold myself and and other people in my network accountable and just to remind ourselves through these moments of introspection of the role that we as individuals can play during these events in in for me a couple things come to mind one I can commit to listening more intently to my black colleagues and fellow citizens to to to learning more about the nature this is systemic nature of this problem because I think that's really important and to hold myself accountable and my colleagues accountable if there's anything that we're doing the problem and then we just and perhaps most important just fine you know ways to support our community and and in our networks in our country at large through concrete action whether it's big or small you know it's a donation or just reading educational platforms or using our platform boat awareness I just think we all adopt that mentality and we call commit to doing something concrete to help the problem I think we can create a change that we seek and so it's really important to keep that top of mind even after talking about baseball the talking about thanks well I'm very well said I'm glad you said that and you know even though everybody likes to tease you because you're still young and you're new in this job you are in a position now of of a lot of importance and you're one of the spokespeople for the giants organization itself right he said that that was that was well said she said and I am and I still think it's okay to focus on you know we can do two things at once we can get better that and talk baseball and that's what we're going to do tonight and not to trivialize the more important things that are going on but the draft itself that has been impacted by.

not serving I'm sorry by myself but you guys are pretty famous they might start serving you guys show up it's a great backdrop good job just turn the volume up they can hear our voices opening games gonna come rushing in earth so are you you were the draft starts tomorrow we we might ask you some other not draft questions but are you guys all prepared and ready to go no not yet we will be I do want to focus really really quickly on a non non baseball topic right I just think it's top of mind for all of us right now and I know Amanda gave us a great intro just wanted to share a few thoughts on the events of the past couple weeks I just personally found them so tragic and just wanted to offer some condolences to the families of of George Floyd Riana Taylor Motter brie and of all the racism and social inequities in our country over the past you know hundreds of years if we're being honest and so I just personally like I know people on this fall I've just found that it's it's difficult to focus on baseball right now is events such as the drafts and spring training they're just trivial compared to the challenges that are our nation is facing right now but I've also found them to be an opportunity for introspection hold myself and and other people in my network accountable and just to remind ourselves through these moments of introspection of the role that we as individuals can play during these events and and for me a couple things come to mind one I can commit to listening more intently to my black colleagues and fellow citizens to to to learning more about the nature this is systemic nature of this problem because I think that's really important and to hold myself accountable and my colleagues accountable if there's anything that we're doing to perpetuate problem and then we just and perhaps most important just fine you know ways to support our community and and in our networks in our country at large through concrete action whether it's big or small you know it's a donation or just reading educational platforms or using our platform boat awareness I just think we all adopt that mentality all commit to doing something concrete to help the problem I think we can create a change that we seek and so it's really important to keep that top of mind even after talking about baseball the talking about thanks well I'm very well said I'm glad you said that and you know even though everybody likes to tease you because you're still young and you're new in this job you are in a position now of of a lot of importance and you're one of the spokespeople for the giants organization itself but he said that that was that was well said very nice she said and I am and I still think it's okay to focus on you.

"You're with us tonight Dave Fleming in ten minutes choose your favorite topics are out the voting is ongoing four topics tonight you vote we talk that's how it works your votes tell the story whatever gets the most votes we talk about at eight o'clock you go to my Twitter feed put your votes in right now the four options traffic bill o'brien home schooling ends or V. O. C. those are your four topics for discussion tonight tropic bill o'brien home schooling ends and V. O. C. so get your votes then we discuss coming up at eight o'clock also David Lombardi on the show the athletic on the forty Niners the kettle contract discussion all of that we'll do that coming up a little bit after eight thirty as well I also want to mention it appears now we are starting to get corroboration audit trace Amigos in half moon bay is one thing for one listener to say Hey try trace Amigos in half moon bay well now here we go here come the text messages Tressa may goes in half moon bay from locals who say that's the spot right now I would say trace Amigos based on this week and just this this run the tapping here this last half hour I'm a and also the fact that I would love to visit an old stomping ground I think Tracy because how's the lead there are others there are others L. federally told twenty fourth in Michigan that one just came in we have a lot earlier in the week so it's not over but this I think is one of those moments where you just literally and figuratively follow your got you follow your gut and and there's something right now that speaking to may about trace Amigos one thing the producer Josh and I have not talked out about the breakfast burrito that is why does it need to be paid off you know it do we have to immediately Monday morning co pay this thing off yeah it's not like it's not like we see each other right now Josh is in studio I'm at my house I don't even know for allowed to meet up if we do do we wear masks do I have to throw the burritos six feet and just hope that it uncoordinated person like Josh is able to catch it if he doesn't do I have to go get another one it's no different than baseball we've gotta have a health protocol in order and then both sides need to agree so all right now I don't think the idea of a Monday pay off sounds very likely are because there are there are negotiations take place there's no question so more on carrier Irving is coming I can tell so as that continues to develop what will give it to you there's one other thing though to mention which is that I re right now can state his displeasure he can rally his are his teammates and when I say teammates in this case I just made the all NBA brethren he can do whatever he wants unfortunately for for him he cannot effectively stop the NBA season from happening that agreement is already firmly in place the board of governors approval everything the vote everything took place in twenty four hours it was like Vegas approving a new stadium there although I K. well the raiders want to come here so what do they need three quarters of a billion dollars all in favor say aye all right all right all right cool let's see that's kind of the NBA came to an agreement I'm supposed to be a Major League Baseball so very very different scenario and that agreement is already there it's already there and similar to what I said an hour ago about Major League Baseball players Tyree Irving with a Max contract is it a different space when he's comes out and says I'll give it all up for social justice all right admirable fantastic what about the twelfth guy on the bench who's making minimum how does he feel about this because do you realize if the season doesn't happen if guys do sit out do you realize there are individual financial impact not small so we do this we even did this with the NFL deal and conversation that happened just a couple of months ago remember Richard Sherman was against IT err Rogers was against it and Russell Wilson was against it big name players coming out saying man that deal bad deal it passed it passed Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers don't represent America the same way baseball billionaires don't represent you so most of the players are not Max players and that don't necessarily have the luxury of having this opinion or even if they have this opinion following through on it hi Dave Flemming joining us in a little bit o'brien of the Houston Texans with a fascinating comments tonight as he said yeah I'm going to take a knee for the national anthem quote I'm all for it that's what he said quote the players have a right to protest right to be heard at a right to be who they are they're not taking any because they're against our flag they're taking any because they haven't been treated equally in this country for four hundred years so Bravo I think this is awesome I don't think there's N. the way in the world this happens if Texans owner Bob McNair was still alive I just want to throw that out there do you remember the quote about the inmates running the asylum that was made by the end of the order that was back there that was the Houston Texans I'm friends with the guy who used to play for the Houston Texans he was on the team during the first Obama election and he told me a story about what happened in the Texas locker room the next morning players all showing up to work celebrating hogging emotional make there are completely unable to read the room walks and starts talking to the players about how everybody should stay together in this awful time don't worry we're all going to hang in there we're gonna get through this together he's talking to them like they're all in some sort of you know white billionaire boys club he said the players could believe what was being said to them so there's a very different history with the Houston Texans make their passed away last year bill o'brien is now ready to let it out and that's fascinating I mean we said for a long time you need more white leaders whether quarterbacks head coaches in the NFL ought.

"So that's that's where we are now we're doing the this date in history for the show opens and yeah first of all it is kind of nice hearing John Miller on a couple of calls on the way in a little Dave Fleming that's maybe the new game to play right is when we hear a highlight package from from your giants maybe from last year the year before how many of those guys are no longer on the roster Kevin Polari heard that name her dermatology flooded out there how about Tyler Austin once again floated up to Dover to Tyler Austin the big barrel chested home run hitting left fielder who didn't get all that many home runs for your giants ended up in in Milwaukee at the end of last season and I believe now he's out there playing in the KBO I think he's a career now get ready to get James Dolan in about eleven days which is the year the report of the KBO we talked about that yesterday that they've said that they're gonna do a little a little bass line template naturally I was doing my podcast for the athletic yesterday the scene heads with Ken Rosenthal he popped on because we're tied right me and myself and we talked about the we talked about this this is a Korean baseball thing and whether or not that's like a real mirror for baseball is actually something because everybody seemed well Korean baseball could be a a sort of a a template or a baseline for where Major League Baseball could go or how they look at getting back on the field and Rosenthal basically said first of all I'm not aware of what the similarities in the the two leads are I don't know if they're doing all their games in in two locations or how how far apart they're staying from each other if they're sequestered into their own hotels or what the situation is exactly I'm I'm not familiar with that but basically Rosenthal's take away is that we're so far out in the even if we get back to being able to being close to playing baseball or being close to playing a a professional sporting event is going to be so much it has to happen in so many hoops and hurdles to jump through and over there it's not gonna be like Hey today things are okay tomorrow well played baseball of course we know we've got to get the the mitigated spring training and but he basically says you know there's there's there's far too much going on still in far too many questions to be asked about whether or not we can get back on the field to to really clap backer to terminate the bubble ball style of play by the way that's the minimum going with I know they were saying today what were the other two names that was the the bio dome the bios fear by killer bio dome yeah they're both bio I'm gonna stand by I I came up with this one yesterday I missed it with bubble ball I like that idea I deliberation that's perfect with bubble boy in the movie exactly probably in the movies and then bubble ball in Phoenix Arizona so that's what I'm stand with anyway I looked it up right now devote World Series this year the Reggie Jackson hit three home runs in the World Series on three pitches against the Dodgers middle year that was this one by the way that's four seven seventy seven you know what I became aware that sports moment Italy things happen in your life right where you even have a before you're born in nineteen seventy eight by the way this is every morning I come in I sit down and through the window where I'm looking at Dave up on the wall in our control room back there with your big TV and I did it's always better on usually when I get here days watching with NYPD Blue maybe some of the some lawn order re run stuff like that which by the way do you work in an overnight shift that's kind of stuff you get into an end what investigation discovery overnight just marathons of oval cop shows homicide hunter with lieutenant Joe Kenda sometimes I forget I walk in there's like a beeping sound I think maybe something's going wrong in one of the studios would do just watching ER that's a you have to E. R. M. a young a young I George Clooney was on the TV when I got here this morning yeah George Clooney Anthony Edwards Eric lasalle I mean all these people are I mean the big names anyway last couple of days yesterday Dave like put a middle finger in my face because he had game three of the two thousand three and L. D. S. up there the Jose Cruz junior drop ball I totally forgotten by the way how great to moral attached at the back end of a of that not great the pitch you owe to the bases but there's a ground ball like up the middle that would've won the game to moral falls to his knees bare hands a ball and throw the guy out of the placement alternately gets gets the pop out from Jeff Conan the would have what again the giants out of that jam instead Jose Cruz junior does a whole lot of the ball and the rest is history anyway that was the baseball game on yesterday this morning they've got Reggie Jackson in the nineteen seventy eight World Series against the Dodgers at most three home runs the moment I became aware of that moment was actually everybody cedar shout out to the movie baseketball I was Matt stone and Trey Parker the live action I think that's an underrated sports movie that we don't talk about I N. Reggie Jackson is actually in that movie the movie starts with a the Germans are coop and Remer is that a movie starts with them at at Dodger Stadium I think for one of those out for that catch one of those home runs but that happened at Yankee Stadium did this or what had happened back in New York is a relative yeah Reggie to tree in New York so I guess they're in New York and and I just poos three Parker catches the third home run ball and later on in the movie he's you know playing for a championship in the baseball the Denslow cop isn't here put their championship after I think is instead Denzel the guy who buys the lead out of driveways and moves it into the the forefront of major sporting events do a lot of really really funny moments in that she's in that to that movie with with al Michaels and and Bob Costas are the two broadcasters can be made as of the movie also doing the the playoff breakdown of how how they're going to crown a champion but anyway I did the movie Reggie Jackson some kid tries to leave the the ballpark with coopers are lazy boy baseketball these made out of his lazy boy chair and Reggie says Hey I taught some kids try to leave the the ballpark with this you don't want to hang out hang on to this he says I got to the home run balls I hit the World Series but some wretched little ASCAP the other sports but it's Cooper goes to after blowing the ball it's all of separate Jeez and that's pretty funny that's a that was actually a moment I wasn't even aware actually happened when I saw that movie far before I should assume that movie I was like an eleven years old something like that if you do that's a that's a horror horror movie that's a hard rated R. movie Victoria Silvstedt playmate of the year isn't it Yasmine Bleeth that's Alfa movie anyway regiment baseketball anybody looking for a a trip down memory.

"The Padres here's Dave Fleming thank you John is Sanchez pitches to Kristin or via a gets a strike call on outside corner breaking ball nice bit from Sanchez that one is a real good one form right now the slider curveball one pitch he throws it again did Orpheus starts and he went on appeal said the first base umpire Adrian Johnson into the north yep very much disagrees and shaking his head as he steps out of the batter's box when Sanchez is not just using that slider against left handed hitters he's using it and effectively against righties to the throws it again and it's taken for a ball that was a pretty good one a ball in two strikes to do nor feel followed by Eckstein and Tejada scoreless game top three Sanchez starts and now the Dorothea gets tired of waiting as for time changes in Posey not always exactly on the same page one to a slider bounced foul any Posies trying to give changes to throw something else right now that's the pitch that Sanchez wants to throw every pitch of the sequences there on four pitches now to Dorothea and all of them have been that sliders I still wanted to Sanches still waiting for the sign that he likes now he has it uses one to **** hit down the right field line that is a foul ball in that time the call was made correctly and hit off the top of the he'd been now on the visitor's bullpen now some sarcastic cheers go up from giants fans all around the ballpark in the first inning the bottom of the first Andres Torres hit one down the left field line and Mike ever the third base umpire just missed a call and Mr pretty badly a fair ball hit right on the line he called it foul the double was taken away still wanted to hear Didion north via here's the pitch it's five a fastball another check swing no swing two and two NEO I could be the Jonathan Sanchez right now does not have any feel for the fast ball at all he's been really a radic with that **** and it may be one of the reasons why he keeps shaking Posey off and going to that slider he's doing it again here to do bench is hit right back up into center field a fastball they set forth in our FIA he's two for two I was a fast ball but it was up really seems like the Padres trying to take away on every other page other than the fastball the hit several balls hard when it's been the fastball and they're just not swinging if it's not a fast ball until they get to two strikes and of course she had three strikeouts all on swinging third strikes on sliders the north via is at first nobody out Eckstein put a bunt down his first time up we'll see if he's gonna do that again here same exact situation the north the a runner at first nobody out instead of the first it's the third inning but the game is still scoreless the problem when you throw a lot of sliders is simply gonna hang one he shows a bunch of holes a bad back runs up and it takes a strike a lot going on there are just a fastball for a called strike soon as you mentioned a few sliders consecutively to the north and then through another one in the northeast hit hard with just two to three feet found out right field line that was the way to get that fastball that was the fifth straight slider of that sequence oh one this one is it found by Eckstein going to six nine in the third inning not funny the first you got the sacrifice down successfully to hotter then struck out Adrian Gonzalez the line down five days did not score again the north via first year nobody out only to pinch Eckstein bounces it to the right side changes to his left he has it and is only play is to first will throw out Eckstein one away and it's David Eckstein Fauria the numbers are not pretty he has not been a good offense a player at all this season but in little moments like that he he can do a specific job any bounce at one of the right side after being behind in the count the advances due north via just as good as a sacrifice bunt the north in scoring position Audrey's look for the game's first run nothing nothing top three one out the hot who struck out swinging in the first he takes a stride Japanese that was the change up from Sanchez and he's thrown a few good changeups in this game so far Sanchez said it's the second pitches to Hana bounces this what a shortstop Rebay has it they'll throw to first base was due north via breaking for third or rebate throws out there Honda two way Adrian Gonzalez comes up we are now in third base with two down in the country's best tutor will see with the giants decide to do here is Allah's the ball very hard to the shortstop his first time up it was caught by Rebay the Braves have won they beat the Phillies eight to seven giants trying to beat the Padres and win the National League west the pitch on the way here is a ball of fastball man now and looks to be right there hold on one this pretty good looking **** about belt high and definitely over the plate I guess who is called high that's that's my only guess here's the one fastball and that's a strange one there was a real sense I thought they'd consolidations looking for the sliders first day back because that's what's edges the run on the first pitch and he whacked it hit it hard like he was looking for that specific pitch Sanches steps off looks over and sort of mimes a throw to third base or rebate the shortstop hold slightly toward the middle again Sandoval is also pulled away from the line a third one in one Sancious steps off again I think he's noticing to Dorothea with Saddam all playing so far away from the line did Orpheus taken a real big leave from third base maybe due north is doing some things over there to try to distract the pitcher to down the pitch outside with a fastball two one one one week would be next Sanches looks like he's going to be very careful here with the Padres best hitter and best slugger Sanchez is generally had good success against Gonzalez wins out of eight hits in thirty eight at bats against none of the changes can be proud of those numbers those are impressive two one way outside zero slider there and he wanted to make sure he didn't hang it through to the opposite batter's box weighed down and away now it's three in one at this point they're just gonna walk him intentionally the intentional walk to Gonzalez did not work exactly the way to Jane's head hold yesterday but a different circumstance here the count of three and one Collins who during its Alice is normally think of him as a very mild mannered players even keel he took an intentional walk any sort of side shuffled halfway up the first base line parking at his own teammates in the dugout the whole way like trying to get them going somehow he's at first the North P. as at thirty two down it's nothing Padres nothing Sanchez pitches and Ludwig pops it foul over the Padres dugout backed into the seats on one seven pitch first inning for Sanchez since then a lot of pressure moments the field is back Freddy Sanchez the second baseman is shaded well toward the middle there's a big opening on the right side of the infield folding on Gonzalez hours trying to get the dis to news to me three days in a row giants fans have just been ready to explode and it helped their Peter Jennings said his get out of this DMO to fix his whole team with another fastball up up and away we could have found that is a pitch that lead we can handle I mean ever that may have been high enough out of the strike zone and far enough off the plate where he's gonna be hard for him to do damage that's a dangerous pitch between Ryan Ludwig yeah good right field power two on two out still into music yeah this study Canada game days lead to the son of the picture and then on three stories coming up in the last of the third chance in San Diego nothing nothing Pablo Sandoval the eighth place sitting here this afternoon standing in for the giants nothing nothing score madly tales of the Padres pitchers at Saddam all drives one align center field reaches six and slams up against team Scott Hairston the left fielder making a spectacular play to rob Sandoval of extra bases one away our son will draw that one to left center field and here stood quickly moving back is due north you came over here students squeezed it and almost immediately slammed up against the wall to the left of the three eighty to sign and he did hold on that was a collision I just got here still takes away an extra base hit from sign of all that was a very nice place here is the pitcher Jonathan Sanchez Plato's throws Sanchez drives on the right center field second me third base maybe the basketball Jonathan Sanchez has ever had he is not known for is hitting Ludwig was playing over toward right center field but he was also playing fairly shallow which is totally understandable Sanchez and general Sanchez trying to do is best Audrey stories he had the arms flying in and it went exactly as graceful he made it for now whatever other third with one away on three stories coming up Torres who had a double taken away by a bad umpires call his first at bat and then a couple pitches later single the infield into the Padres nothing nothing game Torrance waiting the pitch from late tells is a curve strike one call when writing about knee high all in one Antaeus company profit over there is he takes his leave from third base use the old one it is hit foul little backstop of fastball Andres hand one to hit their Flores took a real hard cut added without it straight back it's important to remember that it is the pitcher at third because you figure it's going to have to be a clean head in order to get Sanchez on a ball hit in the neighborhood of a fielder if he knocks it down likely not gonna score Jonathan Sanchez two stories start stop city go Noles Mike Everitt and said that he took a swing there this whole place is just going to go nuts however it said knows everything yeah I took the double away from Andres in the first inning a ball hit right on the foul line kicked up painted grass called foul wanted to Doris waiting the pitch he swings a missile strike three taste one there a curve ball to down first strikeout of the game for late tells and that's where a fly ball with a guy on the run in our ground ball past the golden infield scored a run thanks for the great opportunity they did not catch it they have another chance though it's Freddy Sanchez Sanchez who grounded into a double play in the first what's your answer first names right handed hitter against the righty late tells nothing nothing last of the third of the pitch Freddie swings and misses wow there's a first pitch breaking ball Sanchez looks soul over anxious his first at bat he looked that way Freddie grounded into a double play later said one double play ground ball in his last fourteen starts **** it is the same sixteen we.

It's like stealing. But there was a there was a game where I was driving over CAD voicing quite there today, and I just little rag in clay's thirty seven point quarter. Oh was that what it was? And I was totally like not like that won't live. I was totally like modulating through the first and second quarter. Okay. Cool amid it's a halftime. And then like Klay happens. Am I? Now, if you're listening to the highlights of that, and it's been downloaded like four million times on YouTube the whole quarter. Nice flex. Thank you. Maybe it's four point one million today. But well, it's close the baron dunk and the Klay thirty their Buller about saying county not that I check on it. But. I was just like whatever I got. I throw it out there. Throw it out there. I don't think I make fun of him. Really look. It's baseball season. We talk about great moments in giants history. Right. And John is phenomenal crooked Kuyper.
