Have you heard that before? Yeah. I've heard that before. I've heard silicone spray before I've heard it before. Have all that. And it probably will work till it wears off. Okay, but it doesn't last long. If it's that easy, then keep doing it. You go problem. The problem is is the plastic Outer layer is the UV protection and that's what goes bad. So if you want to permit more permanent solution, you need to remove that dead material. I gotcha. Okay, but again if it's working for you keep doing it. There you go. Well, don't hurt nothing. Don't worry about it. There you go. Good, So it's good to have you back on the show. Thank worse and we're glad to have you and the move is going to take care of fairly soon, isn't it? "She? Yeah. And what was that character? That was a cute character. I came in with a sombrero and want to get us a rocky over my shoulder and a big bass violin. And Mr Benny said You came all the way from T. You wanted to play in my band. She and I see you brought your base file in with you. She What's your name? Shy. So shy. She and I see you brought a young lady with you. Is that your sister? She Uh huh. What's her name? Sure, Su Shi. Well, what does he do for a living? So Mel Blank? I'm telling you, I loved Mel Blank, not just for the cartoons, but every interview that I've ever heard from Mel Blank was just the classic. And that, of course with him on the Letterman shelf. I'm Dave Cereal. It's Saturday morning. And that means you ought to know. Right here. 8 to 10 on talk radio 6 80 wcbm. Let's go to the phones. Jerry in Cockeysville. Good morning, Zia. Jerry. Hi. Um For the house in Florida. We're getting ready to put in a permanent car in the garage. Great, But my question is, what is your comfort level for an all electric car? I'm not saying they're new. But all all kinds are coming out now. Sure. Should I wait a year or two or three? I'm in no hurry. I could put the convertible in there. But that's the 1st 23 questions. Okay, So you're you're thinking you're thinking about buying an all electric car and you're wondering when the best time is for you to buy one. Now I'm wondering what you feel right now about going out and buying one dependability and whatever other, um, factors which your comfort level in buying an electric car, I have very little hesitation in doing so now. Saying that it's not my cup of tea. Okay? I've driven a number of them. I like them. They're very comfortable. They're quiet. They do their job. I have no problems with that at all. It's just that I am the kind of person that I don't hesitate. Incoming going from one area of Florida, the other for a three hour trip here in a three hour trip there. I don't have any problem in doing that, and I do that. I won't say frequently, but I do that once in a while. So for that reason alone, it would not be my cup of tea. However, uh, Tesla would probably be the one that I would buy. I feel more comfortable buying a Tesla than any other all electric vehicle out there right now. And I think they're the most advanced and they seem to be the most easy to update, which is another big deal that I think is a big factor. So if I was in the electric car market, I would not have any hesitation in buying a Tesla. Right. And you answered the second question before I asked it as the Tesla third and final since you've driven in Florida. Yes, I does. The air.

"For 20 years and I've never seen anything quite so melted down and the car not, you know, catching on fire. It was thank heavens you did, And that's good. We'll appreciate it, Mike. Thank you very much for the story. Let us not know because you know, listeners and myself. We don't see things like this every day and thank heavens because that drive you crazy. But it's It's remarkable that you guys the shop found that and then you know one in that direction and found the problem so good job it get a little bit more complex every day. The newer, the newer, the fancier, the more things that use Farr's can do the More it takes to make make it all happened. So it's really hard sometimes to get people that understand. You know, sometimes you you have things that don't occur right away. Things that You know, one will lead to another. It's really gotten complex of despair with us when you bring your car in to get him fixed, and we'll do our very best to try to get it figured out. Feli. That sounds good. Well, thank you. "To your door. All the old Andy Griffith show. They're a little bit of gossiping there on Andy Griffith. Um Dave cereal. Good morning to you. It's good to be with you looking forward to talking to you at 4 10 Wcbm 6 80. Let's go back to the phones and talk with Jae in Caitlin's ville. Hey, J. How you doing? I'm doing great. Now the mice in the car? Yes, way We do this for our trailer and West Virginia that we closed down in the winter time. Okay. Original Irish spring. So Wow, That's strong stuff. Yes. Cut it up and put it all over the place. Okay, and it keeps the mice away. Very good. And that's an expensive too right. They tell him to $4 our trees. You get you get everything their dollar tree. I'll tell you, you know. So if he would put some of that in this car and the engine, whatever whatever. It might work, Okay. It has worked for you, then. Yes. At the trailer yet working great. That's like that's like the guy who bought the elephant gun. Isn't there the elephant gun working as long? I haven't seen an elephant. So must work now. But that is good Irish spring, and that is a different scent. So but by all means and e guess they don't like the strong flavor. Right. He's got to be original, though. It's got to be the green original that you got. Okay. Well, I appreciate that, Jay. Thank you, buddy. Thanks a lot, And it's cold up here. Oh, I know. I know it is. It's gonna gonna get some snow, they say, But, you know, we'll have to find out if they're gonna get really What would they say? You know, it's it's always Ah. It's always a chance there. I wish I could be that accurate in my job. Okay. Thank you, buddy. You have a great day. Appreciate the call. Bye bye. Paul is in Parkville. Hello there, Mr Paul. Hey, Dave. How you doing that I'm doing well, sir, doing well. One of them to call you on the show because I hadn't done that before. So good will appreciate that. Glad you joined. Anyway, I'm thinking about heading down that way. Well, smart move. In my opinion. I love it down here. A lot of Yeah. Anyway, I do have an issue. Um I bought a 2020 toilet of Highlander, okay? And I'm noticing that It's like sticking on 3000 rpm's, and it doesn't want to upshift. If I'm going under load going uphill, it it just one of its wants to stay on 3000, even if they take my foot off the accelerator. Then back on again. It's still wants to hang around 3000 and the dealer looks at it and says there's nothing wrong, so I don't understand why, when they put these cars on the machine, but they're not pulling Codes or that we're not seeing what I'm seeing. Well, there's the check engine light came on and all No, that's that's lovely, um, because that means not normally, there's no codes. There aren't any codes in the system, but you never know it's it's always a good idea to try to do a computer test on it just to make sure Sometimes these codes can hide but someone they could be history codes to They came in there a little while ago but aren't on there aren't in there now. I'm trying to understand what you're saying. In other words, you're accelerating. Let's say, for example, you're you're at a traffic light and you you accelerate and you have your first year you go through your second gear, and then you're coming up like the third gear and you take it up to three things. Rpm's And it's not going into fourth gear. Is that about what you're trying to tell me? Right? Wants to hang on on like the third gear, I guess, And then it just wants to stay on 3000 for a little while. Well, what I would expect Okay. And you're not. You're not doing any kind of manual shift to it. You're just have it in drive, correct. Well, yes, but in order to compensate for that, sometimes I put it in the manual shift and then upshift manually get it out of that 3000 rpm when if you don't do that it will stay at the 3000 Mark. In Dr Uh, just longer than it should it eventually shifts, But it just stays there longer than what I think it should. Well, I I'm not gonna tell you that It's normal, but it maybe it all depends on the circumstances. If, for example, if you're still giving it enough gas At 3000 rpm's It is you're still giving it a little bit of gas. It's probably not going to shift to that fourth until you get a little higher than three things. I thought the car was that for you, whether you could go over the 3000 rpm or not of by what you're talking about, But it is going to hang around there unless you either let off the gas or at this point don't accelerate as much. Because the way it's designed it's supposed to keep that power there if you need it, so I'm not sure whether what you're describing to me is normal with normal acceleration. I kind of would have to be there. I think in order to see what you're exactly doing, but If you let off the gas, it should definitely ball off of 3000 rpm's. It's not doing that. Then Something is definitely a miss, but I don't know what it would be. With the without in the check engine light lit up. It usually does not mean that it's anything to do with a Iittle situation or a acceleration situation. Because what is the problem? It would set a code. And it doesn't look like that's doing that what I would recommend. I know this sounds a little silly, but maybe go to your Toyota dealer that you bought the Toyota from the Highlander and drive another one, Dr. Another 2020 Highlander. And see if you get the same type of reaction from it. Maybe it is something that is normal on that vehicle. And the way to shift points are set up in the transmission that it could be fairly normal. But that would be the only thing that I can think of right now. Is to drive another one. And see what that you see what that feels like. Okay, good idea. Okay, um, On one other thing on this Serious about this is the first This is the first car ever that they're telling me that I don't don't have to do an oil change until 10,000 miles. I know a lot of the manufacturers have done that. Now. 7500. Miles is the longest that I recommend going. Without performing a simple A full synthetic will change. S so ironic, And you know, it's like politics. Okay? Nobody has a memory. But in the nineties and early two thousands, Toyota was 100% against full synthetic will In fact, they had their dealers tell people don't use full synthetic oil in their cars. I heard that over and over again from Toyota dealers right? But now, of course it's the common practice. They put a brand new in a lot of the vehicles. So yes, full synthetic oil can go 10,000 miles without having the will change. It can The product. Is that good equality that it can. The problem is is Americans. We don't open the hood in 10,000 miles, and that's not a good thing on Also, in my opinion, 7500 miles, That's probably about every six months for a lot of people. Maybe once a year for a lot of people, and that's the longest I'd recommend going, you know, without will change. So even if you use a full synthetic will, in my opinion, 7500 Miles is the is the barrier that I would you? No stop at But again if you will regularly, Okay, perhaps money. Check your back before you like a shop. 10,000. Miles is okay. But I still I still think the 7500 Mile mark. It's safer. Right. Well, I appreciate it and he's stay safe down in Florida certainly will try. Thank you so much. Appreciate the car. All right, buddy. All right, Nobody now. "Ever in my opinion, but that's just my opinion. That's kid's smart as he was writing him the ticket. The officer then walked on over all of the chaos agents, bodies that are laying strong across the ground, and he's still got his ticket. I'm Dave Cereal. It's Saturday morning. 8 to 10 means you ought to know. Let's flip on back to Mr Mike Lambert from the Shine shop on the line once again. Good morning, Michael. Morning, David. Let's talk coding, sir. We've been talking coatings for years now on the outside of cars, But let's talk about what protects the insides. Okay, We wanna protect her inside of the car. Especially. We have a new car or in your car or card. It's really clean. It's really nice to have some protection so that if you have You know you still your coffee or something like that. It gives you time to clean the mess up before it's so into the phone and then you'll never get it out. So I got you there. There's coding for fabrics and carpets. Now these air not When you go in the story, you'll see something that says fabric protecting. This is not the same thing we're going to do is they actually wrap themselves around the fibers of the carpet? And the seats any other cloth from that you have, and they will give you a barrier of protection. So that if you do still something, your bottled water your coffee, it will beat up just like the outside your car beats up. Okay, then you can block that dry and you don't have a stain. Fact, and they don't They will ask you probably years instead of cut just a couple of months. So what do they call the store? You probably can't find coding in the store. Okay, I have to get those online and I'll go over a couple places that I know. Have wide varieties. OK at the end, okay. And then, eh, So it's very they're very easy to use for fabric. Just make sure the fabrics clean. Give it a good vacuum. Wipe anything, Boyd it down with a damp cloth. You don't have any heavily soiled areas. If you do just clean it with your interior cleaner and let it drive or like, Make sure it's dry, and then you just spray it on. Let it dry. Some of the coatings required to coach. Some of them require just one. And the good thing about him compared to fabric protected. Is they don't change the feel of the material. They don't make the carpet stiff. They don't make them be. They don't change the color of the seats or and they don't make those feel stiff or slicker or Grippy anything like that. It just it just disappears into the facts. Okay. Okay, Then we have coding for leather. You can still condition your leather on a regular basis if you like that. But then what you want to do is make sure that that's thoroughly give it like 24 hours. If you conditioned your letter, and then you can take these codings, and they're easy to do, too they wipe on they wipe off. Okay, very easy to do. What they do is give you not only a barrier against change and liquids, but they'll give you a barrier against abrasion, which, as you know, after a period of time getting in and out of the car that outside bolster Sure, hard to look more warn. Okay, or if you wear If you have a Tesla with a screaming white interior, and you wear jeans all the time. You'll know that you get blue on your white interior. Okay, and that this will help prevent that Make it easier to clean And this is the karate The karate kid method of installation, wipe off white on white born white parents. Very easy And the reason I say codings and not like fabric or leather protecting the protective have multiple uses like you can use them on your convertible top and you're interiors, but they have a pretty strong chemical smell. Most of the coding that I've used don't have that sort of like it's nicer experience for you inside the car. Okay, Okay. Now there's a couple places I know. Have him If you just Google online, interior fabrics, fabric coatings, you'll get a ton of places that selling, but, um, I have part system from detail Division, which we talked about before auto. Deak has multiple brands of them and car supplies Warehouse in Chicago has a bunch of them so you can easily get them there. Very good. So now you can protect the inside of your car, especially at least you know you salt comes in. They're easily too, by the way, another thing that you have to remember, especially on your carpeting. That's where a lot of assault is going to end up off of your shoes and boots. So, uh, you and that it's cool because they fabric protected that you spray on it. You can get you know, in the big box stores don't make the carpet slippery when they get if you get in there with wet feet the match if you have carpeting match, um the coatings don't do that, and it makes it much easier to get the salt out of here. The carpet in that very good..

"It would maintain my warning. Yes, And it wouldn't be his expensive like companies store automotive, those B g services that they also do services for your outing. If you decided to buy it, it would not be a $360 will change at the store Automotive, but it still would be more than $79. So the German will filters and more expensive the amount of oil that it takes the full synthetic things like that will bring it up, but not $360. That's why I said, if you happen to be in a situation where you have to use the alley dealer as your only method of service, you're gonna get your feelings hurt every single time. Understood. Okay, but what they are quality cars, so right? I mean, Quality cars. Yes, I mean, you know, but they need a lot of loving care. And that loving care is expensive. Okay, well, the words What I'm trying to say is they have more problems. In my opinion, they have more problems. And you're American and your Japanese cars. Terrific. Okay, well, thanks for that. "Thanks a lot, but it's not good to use the car right now. Right? Well, I mean, the only is I'm not sure if it's gonna possibly leave you stranded and that's what I'm concerned about. You don't want to see that. I don't want to see you stop somewhere for an errand and then get back out in the car won't start for you. So I'm afraid kill. Thank you, Mary. Appreciate you doing that. Have a Red day. All right, you too. Bye Bye. Bye. Bye. Now. I got to keep that vehicles radio from switching. AM FM That's just got to stop. Herb is in Perry whole. Hello there, Mr Herb. Good morning, Dave. How you doing? I'm doing well. Good morning, Herb. Already happy New Year and I have a 2017 Chevy equinoxes. Okay, happened there too Sure. Okay, has the 20 it, says the 2.44 leader. And if force on around here so under under which you met? Uh huh. Yep. GM put a ton of these things and all different kinds of vehicles. Yeah, that's a very popular engine. Yeah. Anyway, I'm up around 70,000 miles on this vehicle now, Okay? And I'm starting to notice. It's using a bit of a wall. All right. I think it's a lot. Uh, I had it up to 3500 miles of slashed around before I change the oil and it was down to courts. Okay? That is that there's something Hmm, it is there. Something I can do. Is there an additive or something Just seems to me that's an awful lot of old to be using, because the recommended change. Intervals. 5000 right. I would recommend a product called r F seven as in Robert Frank seven. It's a biggie product. You can get it at GM there in Kingsville. And also Bel Air. OK, you could go them shop. They may have it in stock. They should. If they don't, they can get it for you without a problem. It's called R F seven as in Robert Frank, seven. It is an all additive. It's a better way to do it is to have that added with brand new oil, but you can add it with older will, too, But I recommend getting the synthetic oil change done at the same time having the R F seven added. So you may want to call GM and get an appointment with them. Tow do that, But it really is a good quality product. It usually cuts that oil consumption at least in half or not more. And it's a very good product, so I would definitely recommend that. I mean, I did a little research online, and it seems like there's a lot of people have the same problem once these engines get some miles on them, and there was a class action suit with GM on a previous generation. He sanctions and they were saying that the rings had a problem and the direct injectors were having a problem calls in that. Well, valve seals. Also that they have another situation could cause that too. So the rings and the valve seals the R F seven will help okay by making them more pliable, and that makes them seal better. So that's why I believe this R F seven product is going to help you. Okay, well, I'll give that stuff a shot for a couple of rounds and I'll get back to you Let you know that worked as that Sounds Okay. Do you need GM's phone number? Now I live right the brood from him on it right where they are Very good. Sounds good. Appreciate that so much. Thanks for thank you already. Taking a break back in just a few moments. "To be just low on corn. You do get a certain evaporation after a period of time and being the fact that the beagles probably about six years old are very close to it and also 90 some 1000 miles, you may have lost a little cooling due to evaporation. So all right. That's the first thing that needs to be checked. Secondly, you are overdue for a service that I would definitely recommend. Now That's what I'm hoping is going to be the problem. The low on Colin and also needing AH, service, depression up the antifreeze. However, if it turns out that something is clogged like a heater core or a radiator that also could be the issue a little little unusual for this kind of knowledge in this kind of age, but it does happen. You said it could be a heater core issue. Yes. Heater core isn't CEO Ari and, yeah, that lives in the dash. But again, I don't think that's going to be the problem When a vehicle that's about five or six years old with 90 some 1000 miles It could be, but I'm sorry. I don't mean interrupt, You know, no problem. I did notice. I did notice a smell inside my vehicle of coolant. Okay? And I'm kind of on the fuller board on the passenger side. I noticed. Uh, I noticed something that was coming. Through the floorboard, and it smelled like pulling to me. Oh, boy. Well, that would be that would be the heater core, because that's the only thing that lives inside your vehicle that is attributed to the cooling system. You've got the hoses going to it through your firewall and the heater core involves. So it turns out that you have actual any freeze leak in the vehicle that it would be the heater court. Of a leak would be the heater core. Yes, but let's get it checked out first and find out what's going on just to make sure But from what you've told me, it does sound like you have a heater quarter leak that would lead you to the low antifreeze. And then also, of course, the lack of heat. Okay, Um Well, if I live in the overly area I listened to your show on and off, so I know you will come recommended Tim's auto service. Can they handle something like that? They certainly can. Yep. Tim's all those service and Parkman would do an excellent job on that diagnosing and then also doing any repair of necessary. Okay. And what would one of my looking at a ballpark figure given me? I'm not sure on that particular vehicle. Whether the dash has to be removed. I believe it does so heater cores. Can be very expensive. They can lead anywhere from between 700 hours to maybe $1400 to replace a heater core. Not trying to scare you. Just trying to let you know Ah, lot of times. What they do is they packed the heater core and you're a sea or air conditioning evaporator all in the same heater box with also some fan of some some vent doors. They're all in one big heater box, and the only way to remove them properly is toe, remove the dash and then remove that box and disassemble it so it can be a pretty expensive labor job. But let Tim take a look at it first and find out what's going on, and he could also, maybe get to it in a area where it could be a little less expensive, but The best thing to do is get the diagnosis on it first. Okay, I guess. One more question. It's not. It's It's not drive a Ballis it. It's drivability, probably to Tim's. I would definitely check the level of antifreeze and and top that off with either like a 50 50 mix. You could buy any freeze that you're like Salvo, for example, they sell to the 50 50 ready to go mix. Would just top that off just to get there. But it is driving belong as you, you know, top off the antifreeze. Okay. All right. I pried appreciate it. Okay. My pleasure. And I'm sorry to give you some rough news around Christmas time. Didn't mean to Anthony. Okay, Okay. Take care. Thank you, buddy. All right, taking a break back in just a few moments. I'm Dave Cereal. It's Saturday morning. 8 to 10 Right here on CBM. "Louie Anderson and jumper cables and how important they are no doubt about it, especially cold old weather. Louie Anderson. I'm Dave Cereal. Good morning to you. We've got Mike Lambert on the line, Michael. Good morning. Once again, sir. Good morning. So we're talking about some products that a brand new that you've used and you've already been the guinea pig for your vehicles. By the way, your poor challenger. I'm telling you, it must have 27 different products on it right now telling you, right? Yeah, You're probably you're probably closed between that and my wife Do evoke like Yeah, We're, uh Uh, they're detested. Pick. There you go. There you get will tell us what you recommend, sir. You remember And I remember And I'm sure most your listeners remember today what it would take you all day to watch car. Yep. I don't know how it is. It has gotten to the point where you could do that. You can protect your car for six or seven months for in five minutes Well, so it's It's just the technology has really changed. So there's a company called G technique, and you can find this on Amazon as well. Online. You won't find him in the butt big box stores, but it's G technique there from Germany. They have a product called Easy coat. And what this does is it comes in a bottle, and it comes with one of those hose and sprayers like you would spray your lawn with his And you, uh, wash your car and leave it with you spray this on and then hose it off and you get six months worth of a really good feeling with some ceramic in it that they will protect for six months. Okay? How much easier does it get? Really? Okay. I can't even do that. I can't even do that. You can. Yeah, and it runs $24.50 for a bottle, and I think you could probably get two cars out of that bottle. So okay, That's not bad. That's going a bit. That's true. Okay and Adam's polishes and waxes A D A. M s. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Available also on on, uh, on Amazon and online and couple couple local places, sell it, But I'm not positive of that. So just looking Okay, They have a graphene spray coating and I've used this on my car. And it is an easy easy coating to use last year about last year about a year and you just follow the directions and you'll be fine. OK, they also have which has become my favorite tire dressing gown. David. What kind of dressing my favorite tire dressing tire dressing. Okay. It is a graphing infused tire coating. It runs anywhere from 18 to $25, depending on where you buy, Okay, And it leaves a really nice deep dark. Black finish that has no shine to it. Got you, would you? Would you like natural? I know. Yes, I do. Okay on in McGuire's has a It's their product is M 7 99. It is their pro ceramic beat booster and this is similar to their hybrid ceramic spray detailer, But it's the professional version, which They say professional because it has more of the the products that work on the car in it, and you can buy it on Amazon. You could bother you combined in one more and I saw and it just meant it is designed to be Used as a standalone ceramics feeling. Or you can put it on top of any coding, and it will just keep the coding alive much longer. And they runs about $30 for a 32 and bottle and you're very, very little of it. So that works very well. Okay today. Today and your listeners. We're getting this first, because I know people. Okay. Turn away. Turtle Wax is announcing five new products. And they're announcing them online. Today's You could probably see that they have a graphene infused flex wax, which is they sprayed spray. We're gonna call it a coding. Okay, Very easy to use. They say we have the graphene infused Max wack, which is a liquid and you put it on just like a regular hand. Car car, wax. Okay, well, and and I don't understand why they call this this but this is what we'll call it. It's called precision platelet compound and polished This is your car ready for any of their other products, and they did by hand or machine so you could work it either way, and they say it removes the scratches and polishes the finished. Makes it nice and shopping, and then we have Streak free. Missed interior detailer was cleans and leave the fresh fragrance and very easy to use on any interior surface, including the the computer screen and your gauge clusters. Then they have a cleaner and disinfected and to be called a disinfectant and must kill 99.9% of the germs and right D A has to certify, so we know it does actually kill the run a virus. And that's what the lawyers 99.99 is the lawyer's statement right There is a case of 1 1/100 of a percent chose up somewhere that they didn't kill. Exactly So. So you do anything I will. I will tell people is yeah. These products are very easy to use, and they will provide you easy protection on your car. But if your car is all scratched up, it is still going to be all scratched up. Catch it right. Polishing is what brings out the shine and makes the defects appear less visible to the eye. So if you want you you really want to get the most of these products. You really want a problem. Make sure the car's polisher in really good shape first, Okay? Excellent 4 10 833 16 32 is the contact number for Mike. Once again. "Regan and some funny stuff for you to consider the next time, which could be very soon. That you decided to pack up a Christmas gift and send it ups Brian Regan and packages for UPS. Some Dave Syria Good morning here, looking forward to talking to you with the familiar phone numbers. We have phone lines. Open it, 4 10 that we use CBM 6 80 That's for one hour. 92266 80 outside of Baltimore. Call us toll free at 1 800 Wcbm 6 80 Bone lines open. Join me. Ask me a question. We'll get you on the air. Let's see. We have Sean in Crisfield on the line. Good morning to you, Sean. Hey, hey doing I'm doing well, good to talk to him. What's that again? I say You got a great show going on. Well, thank you, sir. Listen to it all the time. Appreciate that. Thanks much, Sean. Good. I got a 2016. Chevy, Colorado with a 2.5 leader. Four cylinder. Yes, sir. Very good. Very good car. Very good, right? Steak grass knowledge that's got 113,000 wanted. I do mostly highway, Okay? I'm familiar with it, Uh, Fiji product when I was still working in the industry. Guy came over and gave us a demonstration and on up, used it in training and so forth Good in some cars, but General Motors When I asked the dealership, they said they don't recommend it. Well, you know the ironic thing. Well, let me tell you something ironic about that. Sean is there are a lot of GM dealers throughout the country that RBG dealers. Okay. It's just the line that unfortunately, General Motors manufacturer has decided not the actual dealers themselves. Do you were sometimes tote the lines I for years heard from Toyota. In the eighties and nineties. There was not a single Toyota dealer in the country that was recommending synthetic oil. Okay, because the Toyota line was we don't recommend it. But now you can't find one that doesn't S so it's just you know how things change. But you're right. There are a lot of General Motors dealerships that RBG dealers and Dubey Jee services. So that's the irony of that. Well, let me ask you this. Sure. When I look at the throttle that thing he's one of those throttles is completely controlled by the computer. It's got its own little motor, right. They recommend you don't push on those with your fingers the open him up and squirt down in it. I'm going to a class where the guy said, just rub. Diesel fuel, Wanna rag and wait but around in there, or it's other things similar that that you have anything what you would recommend for a do it yourself for that could clean that throttle and keep it good. Well, if the contamination is down further than that's not gonna do you much good. So you pretty much have to get in there with either carbon Reiter's pray or somebody that but I wouldn't do it unless I had a specific problem. Ah, that particular one. I wouldn't fool around with maintenance unless it's a specific problem that you're trying to solve, like a sticking gas pedal or, you know a situation where the idol was dropped down 100 or 150, less than what it should. Then, then I would consider doing it. But if you had no problems, that's one to leave well enough alone. Because it runs great. I don't have a problem. I thought from a maintenance standpoint, Maybe there's something recommended. Can you dump stuff in the tank? Or is that a waste to shouldn't know That's not a waste of time. We recommend the ethanol defender from B G, which is the cleaner and also the water remover. You have a lot of excess water get into the gas through the ethanol. 50% more than regular gasoline, for example, so you want to get rid of that? That's what one part of the ethanol defender you does. And the other part is the fuel system cleaner, which definitely does help. So ethanol defender is what I would recommend Every will change. At it, and you put it in the fuel. Got it. Hmm. All right. Well, thanks a lot. My pleasure, Sean. Enjoy. And thanks a lot for calling buddy. You're welcome. But by now By the way, wishing everybody a very happy holiday and Merry Christmas out there we do, Say Merry Christmas on the show as well as all the other holidays that you celebrate. But we do say Merry Christmas on this show, and you'll hear it for the next four weeks. I'm Dave Cereal Every Saturday Morning, 8 to 10. We're right here on CBM. Mark inhabited Grace is on the line. Good morning, Mr Mark. Hi. How are you? Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas to you, Mark. I have. Ah, try make it real quick insurance. I have a 2011 side on XP, Okay? And believe or not Thanksgiving Friday after work. I'm coming around. It felt way It's got 200,300 miles on it. Okay, keeping my fingers crossed. The clutch would last until refinance, pulling money out of my house and pay cash like it did for the Cy on well as a coming around there. It's in the past week it was making Mom bumping stands when shipped in his 31. Well, as I got around the Beltway, it died. It wouldn't go anywhere. It would shit. Right, Andre, the lamp bang, And then that was they had to have it towed back to have the grace. Okay? Um, actually, probably 231 231,000 miles on a clutch was probably asking too much. Didn't want didn't want to make it 2 to 31 these Well, I know it's hard to have a crystal ball. Do you think it was? The transmission also made the gears? No. You were just a clutch. I think it's just the clutch. I'm hoping that's the case for you. You have you have two sisters? You have two systems of the clutch. You have hydraulic and you also have mechanical. Now it sounds like mechanical is what went bad, which is Thekla parts between the engine and the transmission. Have three major components a disc Ah, plate and then a release bearing those your three major parts. You also have a pilot bearing but that very song ever fails in that situation. But those are the three major components. Probably. I'm thinking the release bearing may have given up the ghost, so one when they get in there to replace that replacing. It should take care of it. You should be good to go, but they're going to take a look at the Hydraulic part also, and to make sure that you're clutching your slaves Cylinder. Yes, those are not politically correct names, but that's what they call him clutch and slaves. So wonder are the master cylinder and slaves cylinder in good shape. So you should be fine, but it does sound like the mechanical clutch between the engine and transmission went up. Okay. Could you recommend somebody? And would you give me a guesstimate? Well, what it would cost to have that time. Well, it all varies between vehicles. But I would say you're probably talking about somewhere between 750 somewhere around $1000. Okay, I gotta be honest with you is not an inexpensive part and labor. But the good news is, as you found out, you could get a lot of knowledge out of a clutch. I would recommend I've actually it's a brand new advertiser, but I've known George for years. Hey, and I went to the same church Mountain Christian Church. And I've known George for years, G and M in Bel Air. They have repair shops in Bel Air, and also Kingsville, and you're in the habit of grace area not too far from Bel Air at all. So I would recommend G nm in Bel Air. I can give you the phone number if you like. Yes, please. It's for one hour. 838 2900 And the right on Toll Gate Road in Bel Air in downtown Bel Air, They'll do a great job for you..

"Help you with that, mom, You really want to go shopping the night before Thanksgiving? No choice. Mike Pioneer Galaxy Mall has moved Black Friday up to Wednesday. Tonight. Everything is 60% off. We wait till Friday. It's only 30% off. I keep talking to you. It's gonna cost me another 10%. I can reach that for you. Huh? Thanks. Besides, Thanksgiving's not a big deal this year I got it covered Your dad. Didn't rusty, You're not gonna be here and eighties in Branson. There's no Marines to offend. It's just the five of us and my parents opened the way you've got to go pick up my parents. What my mom's got that foot thing again and my dad has decided he's no longer fit to drive. Well, he isn't. Well, I know, but give it a shot. She'll steer he'll step on the gas. Let's be creative about this only going 10 Miles an hour Anyway. Like what? You can't just decide this. He's supposed to have a couple wrecks. You know, back into a supermarket, and then we have a family meeting and we take his keys. That's how it's done. That's a show called the Middle Nine Seasons by the way on ABC, and it was a very funny show. I'm Dave Cereal. It's Saturday morning. And that means you ought to know right here. Of course on talk radio 6 80 wcbm. Let's bring Mr Michael Lambert from the Shine Shop back on the line once again. Good morning, Michael. Morning, David. So we're gonna talk about Seema now explain to folks what Seema is to those who may not know. Seema is the specialty Equipment Marketing Association. And basically to make it really simple. It's anything you can vote on. Stick on, lay on or want to put on your car. Gotcha. Okay. Okay, include everything from the motor's anything running out back. I gotta interior exterior. Every think Yeah, any any kind of part. And now the even the vehicle manufacturers are involved in it because they have realized how much money they could make on aftermarket parts. Right? Very good, Okay? So I have a couple of different brands here that have come out with Ah, lot of new products for this year, and I think they all came out with Bigger list of products because Seema was not actually in person. Right. Though the two words you're going to he'll hear from me or or hybrid and ceramic a lot. Hybrid is just meaning that they mixed the ceramic components with their own chemicals. So don't get confused. Okay, so McGuire's they have come out with a actual, They call it a hybrid paint coating. It is a true coding for your cars, but the last you want year and be very easy to put on and take off. They have a hydrant hybrid ceramic wash and wax, which will leave behind some, uh, ceramic protection on your car. Okay on that is it's interesting because it is too liquid. It is the wash liquid and then you will add the ceramic Portion of that to it comes in one bottle with two different sections, so that for anything it is packaging wife. They have a hybrid wash mitt for putting on your hybrid wash and wax. I don't know why it doesn't come with it if you need a special bit, But one side is for washing and the other side of the smooth out these ceramic particles, OK, and then something that will never be in my shop. They have insane shine entire phone. Yeah. Mr. Mike is a natural tire guy. He's a wants to look natural. But you know, it's it's personal preference, right? Just don't do that here, right? That's what Okay, so then we go to Mother's mother's has their ultimate hybrid ceramic spray wax. Which you can use it a standalone protection or on top of any other coding on the market. We have the ultimate ceramic detailer and beat booster, which is designed to be used on top of the coating that prolong its life. We have the ultimate.

No, mama was the Clemens Butcher shop this morning, and there was $2 a pound. Oh, it was an afternoon special and afternoon specially He's always doing interesting things like that. Last Wednesday, I was the 400 fifty's customer. The money. Tell them tell them he gave me a specialized Caroline steak. A dollar repaired. I don't see how he can afford to sell it. Those prices what you do grow his own beef. Maybe it's his way of advertising. Oh, no, he told me not to say a way to nobody. You don't want the people. Come in. And just for the special I even think about it. But this is like bus drivers and band leaders. They're all loonies. Sorry for me watched his wife last year and he misses something terrible. When she died of well, she cut her finger while she was slicing belonging. She was happening in the store, and then it got infected. Not the baloney I'm feeling and the story is raising Thies days. People don't buy from an infected finger. No, she did. We're at the post. She was going to the drugstore for some iron. Don. We're in the starting gate. This car hit it while she was crossing me. Where often and that killed her. She certainly night. We've reached the quarter pole. Yeah, it wasn't me feeling in the clubhouse time they put him into it. Then they rushed it to the hospital to read on the next day. That's where she died. No food poisoning. That is hilarious Routine. "A larger home and just be there. We get my hands standing there better. I don't think that would hurt anything. It depends on what you're cutting or you don't want to weaken the structure there, But probably you'd be OK, but this may be something you may want to get an estimate from a local shop in the area. Okay, because it is not fun. It is not a fire job, and it's not and surprisingly enough, the guys that do this work body shops especially don't charge that much for doing it. So you may want to consider a body shop. Do some of that, too. Do it. Are you saying it has two pieces? Motor and regulator? Yes. The second part correct there. They get power. No powers. Your motor. The regulator is what controls the way the window goes up. It controls the up and down motion of the window. But the motor is what gives it power? Yes. Off a couple cable. That's where it's got. You did you did you did the regulator and correct Yeah, right. I couldn't get it. I understand. I understand. Yeah, I had to do you have to do what you had to do. All right. One more thing real quick. I got I got a check in. Uh, I got a van with no check engine later. One has seen it. It's multiple misfires. It's a lot off. Gonna identify that. Well, it's not gonna tell you what misfires there are which will drive you crazy. Okay, you'll probably have to wait for them to get a little more severe, a little bit more specific, but you've got either six so unders or eight cylinders, and eventually he's going to tell you what cylinders in this bar. But the reason why it hasn't said a check engine light. It probably hasn't gone to the parameters of that. But the codes still comes up. So you've got a code 300 that tells you multiple misfires, but it doesn't tell you what cylinders until it tells you what cylinders were involved. You're probably just hunting, so I wouldn't be concerned until it starts, you know, setting the check engine light and telling you an individual cylinder, so don't worry about it. It's running kind of rough. Well, it's eventually going to tell you I mean, you could even replace you could replace spark plugs now for a shot. If they haven't been replaced in a while in their their old. You could try that, But it could be a wires. It could be injectors. It could be the actual engine with a lot of other things that could be, But if you want to try spark plugs first, that would be a good place to start. All right. Okay, then. Thanks so much, Mike. Okay? Taking a break. We'll be back in just a few moments when we come back. We have Mr Michael Lambert from the Shine shop. Joining us Good to have Mike back. I'm Dave Cereal..

"By B G products and services. Now, here's your host Dave Cereal. Once again. Good morning, everyone and welcome to the second hour of you ought to know 10th of October. Taking your calls and 4 10 wcbm 6 80. That's 410. 92266 80. Let's get back to our friend Fred in east Baltimore. Fred, are you there, Mr Today, Right here. Thank you. All right. We're ready to talk about extended warranties. So I've got to be very careful because you know I'm here on a vice show and people, of course. You know, I'm sure a lot of people take the advice and I've got to be careful on how I word this now. Extended warranties are an insurance policy. Nothing more. Nothing less. Now, I wouldn't tell you to take the insurance off of your collision vehicle. Okay, Because you need that, just in case the accident happens and you've got to be covered to protect you against some from someone else suing you. But extended warranties are a little different. That insurance policy is a gamble. Okay, It's whether you think the card you have first of all is a quality car and is going to last and not give you any serious problem. If you think there's a good possibility that that is gonna happen, and it's good to have an extended warranty. If you're also the same kind of person who would prefer to know ahead of time what they're going to pay and have that extended warranty. It's also good But there are a number of things you have to be aware of. First of all, there is no extended warranty that is as good As the factory three year 36,000 Mile warranty that of vehicle manufacturer gives and sometimes that warning before years 50,000 Miles, whatever. But the factory warranty is the best warranty on the market. And it's included with your automobile brand new No extended warranty is as good as that. If they say bumper to bumper, they don't mean exactly bumper to bumper. There's more exclusions than a factory warranty. Now in saying that Extended warranties. In my opinion. Okay, can sometimes find a lot of ways to get out of repairs. I'll give you example. This week, a friend of mine down here in Florida who's also was a New Jersey and OK, had a Chrysler 300. He had a extended warranty, which included a powertrain warranty. That includes powertrain includes engine transmission and Axl's. Well he was ready to pull out of a parking spot. That is vehicle just stopped. Engine was running, but no forward action, so he had the vehicle towed to the dealer. And they found that his actual had popped out of the transmission now. You would think if you have a powertrain warranty. That the power train the transmission, and the actual which are both supposedly covered would be a covered part. Their excuse for not covering. That particular problem is that it was not a lubricated internal part that failed. And because of that they would not cover So that's the kind of stuff you have to deal with with extended warranties, and I'm not a big fan. But if you're concerned about the major cost that could come from an engine problem or a transmission problem, Then it worked. You're worried about a $7000 engine or a $3000 transmission and you want to spend money. Don't do that to cover yourself fine, but be prepared for them to possibly find a way out, and that's what I'll be concerned about. I mean, this was an actual in a transmission. A powertrain warranty is supposed to cover transmissions and axles. And they said it wasn't covered with rubble. Internal grief part It wasn't an internal lubricated part that failed. That was their excuse. Yes, balloon at what called you, David, the world I know that nobody knew anything about it said. Well, I have a young lady over 2010. Camera, right, You know, so I think that we should buy one before that. Well, if you wanna buy the car, the next by working of course you've got 100 bucks a month. It would go for two years. You put out $2000, and you're completely covered in a minute decision, whether that's gonna keep it. See, that's the problem. You're not completely covered. So I'm trying to explain to you. I mean, it sounds good. You watch the commercials when one of your favorite actors up there saying your car breaks down. What do you do? Well, the good news is okay. First of all, you call the tow truck. Well, you call the tow truck. They don't call the tow truck. Okay. Secondly, if the vehicle did not need to be towed, in their opinion, they won't cover. Okay. If they do cover, they cover a minimum. Not completely for the whole toe sometimes could say you could tell it to your favorite shop. One of your favorite shop is out of the area, and you tell they won't cover it all. Okay? And then they say You need a rental car too big. You get a rental car? Well, you may not get a rental car. The reason for that is if the repair the repair takes more than eight hours worth of labor. Then they'll give you one day rental car is the way it's set up, Okay, But if it isn't if it's a two hour job, even if parts aren't available, and you're stranded, the rental car may not be included. So what looks good on television. And what is reality is completely two different things. Well, they like I said I would call you for the good of life. But your network at the office a problem program like that. Do you do that with you? Have you know I don't? I don't have anybody that offer's extended warranties, aren't you? Okay? Except except, of course, you know, exclusive motorcars. They sell them for the cars that they you know, they sell and I'm sure they saw a very good quality aftermarket brand. But every every card you ourselves extended warranties, so they're easy to find a lot of insurance companies Geico and other coming like that also do too. So, uh, 61 after another lady. Where for the man. That depends. On which way you know the car. Exactly. Exactly, Like always the pleasure. You too, Fred. Thank.

"Here on talk radio 6 80 wcbm. I've got a little article out of the paper that I thought might have bean might be of some interest to you folks who are going Christmas shopping it Zez that they're developing a new car and that will be powered by electricity on this electrically powered car crossed about $5000 that Z $1000 for the car. On $4000 for the extension cord. It might be a nice present. I imagine that a lot of the folks looking in tonight I'm married, especially the men on and, uh, and those of you who are married, probably very familiar with thing called women's intuition. Yeah, well, for those of you who are still bachelors and don't know too much about this. I should like to explain briefly how it works. For example, it's a cold morning and the car won't stop and tried everything that you know how you clean the spark plugs. You clean the car. Brady charged the battery. Nothing helps the car won't start. And your wife walks in. And you say, Honey, the car won't start And she says, Of course, the boat is loose on the license plates. So you smile and you tighten the bolt on the license plate. Not only does the car stopped But the dashboard clock that hasn't worked in four years. Some great stand up comedy there from Don Adams. "Glad boy. Go ahead. Backed up a funny, funny pair. I tell you back then you know the humor was so so witty. But you just taking two words. Go ahead and making a complete scene about that. I'd say. Well, you know, if you listen to my show, you know the pre stooges or my guys, Okay? I've been a three Stooges fan ever since I was a kid when I won't even allow the watch him And then, of course, Abbott and Costello that you have, of course, Laurel Hardy and the march brothers those those guys and the Bowery boys Remember the Bowery boys? Some very, very funny stuff back there. No doubt about it. Abbott and Costello. I'm Dave cereal. It's Saturday morning. And that means you are no 8 to 10. Right here on CBM. Let's go back to the phones and talk to some folks. Mike is an East Baltimore. Good morning to you, Mike. Going, Dave. Wonderful show. Well, thank you, sir. It's very nice of you to say Thanks. Thanks for your service. I'm sure I'm in the market to get a car. Okay. Call you first. Okay? I don't do it to lend you money. Or is this just gonna go out on your own and do this good advice to say you probably saved me a couple 1000. There you go. 2018 2019 niece avert. Person knew. Okay, back. Um what do you what? Your opinion them course. Very nice. They had to see the tea. They continuously variable transmission, which is a very good, dependable transmission. But I let everyone know that we were talking about these automatic transmissions. But unfortunately there are a little difficult to service. Okay. They're only like a drain and Phil type of situation so you can't do a, you know, fluid exchange completely on those guys easily. But also if a problem occurs and again, very dependable, usually don't have a problem. But if a problem occurs, the replacement of these automatic transmissions is extremely expensive Minimum $4000, usually somewhere between 4000 and $7000. But they are very dependable, very few moving parts, So it's not something I'm saying. Steer away from. However, it is something I want to make sure you're aware off the diversity covered up. Would want to cover that. Yes, becoming with the warranty. Right if it if it happens during the one problem, the CVT If it happens during the warranty period, it's covered. Sure, but warranties don't live forever. So that's why I'm pointing it out to you see the point I'm trying to make Let's say, for example, you buy this 2018 verse a note, Okay, and in 2024 4 years from now. Okay, The vehicle has 125,000 miles on it. All right. It's now six or seven years old and you have this automatic transmission problem. Again, Very dependable. But if your little the lucky guy Okay, that has a transmission problem with it. You're talking about a 4 to $7000 repair on a vehicle that is six or seven years old and has 125,000 miles that pretty much comes close to total in the vehicle that time the value of the vehicle. Yeah, You talk to that other things if I could, But I'm gonna just make sure I got a warranty on that. But you can't really avoid the CVTs either. I want to make sure that points out there too. Uh, continuously. Variable transmissions are now in a lot of cars, and it's very difficult, especially in the type of car you're looking for. You're looking for an economy car with good gas mileage. And a little four cylinder engine. Those are prevalent, but they continuously variable transmissions are prevalent in those cars for alarm. Is that for you? What's that again rental car or loner? Local, uh, I'm not a big fan. Okay? They do Maintain them very well. Okay when they're in a fleet like that, But, you know, we've got a comedy routine here on the show from Jeff Jeff Foxworthy about rental cars and and the fact that they're being used by so many people, and that is a little bit truth. Everybody drives a vehicle differently, especially if they're not their own And you know, it depends on the type of use The vehicle is if there was really a rental car than that has a little bit of concern for me because so many people have driven it. But if it's ah, it's a fleet car where somebody one person used it and now turned it in. That's a little different Ballgame so all depends on the use. But again, there will be a great make a difference Certified does make a difference. Especially the warranty warranty is much better in a certified car, No doubt. Okay, because that certified that certified wanted, explaining the certified warranty is just like the bumper to bumper factory warranty. Okay, the manufacturer itself stands by So any any representative of that manufacturers. So.
