"This. How would you braces? How we do it. Anything? We're like a Saturday morning. Brasow? We drew it. Imagine of Moyle Mantell Yudin. Moyal juden. Hey, wait, a second. That's not Dave Ross. Oh, no. That's Jake Wiseman. Hey, what's up guys? I killed Dave actually know he killed himself. He really loved the podcast, and we're gonna do this episode about his suicide. Well, thanks for coming in Jake ab-, sorry about how the last minute confusion here. It's okay. Dave folks, people who care about Dave listening to this. Dave keeps getting the fucking flew. He will not stop licking doorknobs, shoving Rachel asking sick people to cough directly into his lungs. These weird like that. He's a weirdo and we love him. But I get well soon. Dave, I'm sure you're listening to this. That would be actually amazing. But yeah, Dave sick. And I don't know it's going to be weird guys. My theory is that this episode is either going to be our worst episode ever or our best episode ever. And I'm actually kind of scared like what if there's like a tidal shift where if it's too good than Dave's out. But if it's if I really tank, then then everyone is like, please bring Dave Beck. I will do anything. I'll get to kill myself. Kind of Jake's roundabout way of killing himself by doing such a good job on a suicide podcast fans. Want him dead? It's kind of like suicide by cop. That's what we call. Our fans caps..

"Just as the book was hitting the bookstores and stuff like that and it was just starting to be noticed i said we gotta make a school version of this and they thought he had that sounds cool but we want us the other book cells and we want to see how the movie does when it comes out in a month or so if you haven't seen the movie the martian with matt damon and at amen and this is the yet the bogey soccermom and so a month later the movie came out and it was a huge hit in the book wizards massive seller and so i call the back said now and they said yeah we're going to do this okay give us you know and it's it's it's quite a process where they do that they got to go through it and change all those words in like the first page of the school version the book says i'm screwed that's my considered a pigeon arm screwed and that that works in ride an and the other language was adjusted accordingly and so on i will we bought a couple of hundred of them for the eighth grade science class and i wrote up a whole curriculum of lessons four big lessons addressing chemistry the part where the chemistry of making water in the book the chemistry of making rocket fuel uh the chemistry of making the bomb that it's in the climax that they use uh rather than just teaching them an hd whoa placebo two vehicles the cetera you're actually literally the semester for the whole year that just won't the you go through the book phase jahn order right right and explain to them how things are every for we have martian friday where they have some reading and there's a quick right from the book they have to do and they get to work on these longerterm projects now and the culmination of it and hopefully we'll get to it this year like i said we've got uh a class uh tech class at school where they got three d printers and we're gonna have the kids design and build on the three pill printer of vehicle or structure is something from the movie that they design.

"Interesting to medical middle school kids who are going to get to that as well but tell us a little bit about this book what prompted you to write this book well okay in los angles unified school district science teachers teach sex it and it's typically the last week or two of school before the summer break so can i ask why like it just as far as curriculum why would you put it in the last week from the teachers standpoint uh that last week or so school is is time it's harder to fill your turning in textbooks of the kids are kind of burnout on school and you're looking for something that to fill that space meaningfully all right so what better than sex ed you don't need a textbook for it really uh other than you've got some random materials and videos and things like that but you have a time where they're not really into school work the normal score work that you do is largely wrapped up and because they know they're gonna have this sex said unit at the end of the year they've been looking forward to it all year all right so they're sitting there you know kinda quivering uh wondering what this is all going to be out alternating between horror and and you know excitement on this subject so it's really kind of a perfect time to do it now like when i think of middle school sex at in my experiences the entire time in class all the guys only were looking for an opportunity make a really fun asia oh absolutely it so how did you handle that how do you actually get the information across while letting them 'cause you know that you can't just tell them no jokes on that's is not gonna work yeah no um in the universe joke i've as a male mean for all kids kids when i was at gatorade school i mean the joke was as a teacher and then when i was a student was our teacher said the word penis and our teachers said the word vagina and that was always was.
