"And I trust your safe and healthy this morning read more Dave Arnold you're staying healthy yeah we are and I do want to ask you about your reaction if I could this morning to breaking news yesterday you're well aware of at the Wisconsin Supreme Court overriding the governor Iverson stay home order what's your reaction to that senator well I think it's good news I think the reversal I've not been critical of any elected official who's really had to make tough decisions with with very limited and imperfect information but you know all that being said yup all of these orders first need to consult the constitution what is the U. S. constitution state constitution and determined are you are you protecting your citizens rights as well as the health and safety and yeah I act I think right now what we're finding is that there are many governors at the didn't really consider that in some of their decisions although again I think so much so much the actions are well intentioned but I've been surely front trying to get people to take in the full perspective I understand all the devastation that's crying out not always before this cold nineteen that and the tragic loss of life but but the devastation our economy human toll but that represents are more more stories coming out now of the you know she she were in her shoes revisits that people are concerned that they're they're not going to miss your chance to heart attacks I've I've stated repeatedly that that one person's lack of procedures another person's life saving treatment or diagnostic test so we we need to understand all the devastation and we've got to bring some balance this conversation into our policies US senators you know the United States houses working on another stimulus package led by a leader Pelosi would you like to see another one and will this one reach the Senate what I said is there any additional legislation ought to look back at what we've already done and listen I'll support we had to pass something fast way to pass something pretty massive to signal to the markets that we were going to maintain liquidity and and not allow people to go to bankruptcy that you know we need to survive and and be able to re open we hire but fact matter is we probably spent less than a trillion dollars out of the two point nine we've already authorized to we should first take a look at the two thousand or the two trillion dollars has been unspent before we even think about authorizing a penny more yeah I've been talking about to be focusing reprogramming possibly even repealing of funds are just are going to be used a couple of things on actual one is do you think you know in another conversation that you heard as well is that a good idea for the states to make their own decision for the pandemic response would you rather see a stronger national response private presents are pretty good job assembling a task force so they've taken some pretty swift and decisive action but it was also pretty smart for him to issue guidelines and then what governors aside this is not what not everyone suffering like New York City and so they're they're always going to be differences in states and even difference differences in resistance states at yeah I'm a federal so I I really believe in government calls the governed or it's going to be more efficient more effective more accountable because it's right there acting with better information so so we are responsible for nineteen should should not be a one size fits all model and so on so I could present trump absolutes correcting the leading out of the governors and again the government should be held accountable just happened yesterday with Scott spring court the governor Iverson overstepped his constitutional authority and the Supreme Court you know basically said you can't do that we're talking with Scott sooner state senator Ron Johnson or senator I would ask you this as well because I talked about a half hour ago and you know the U. below the full story suddenly has become the elections hardly were this close to presidential elections a lot of important elections and it's really not the top story having said that though do you see any possibility of delays in the November elections any concerns there well if people start talking about doing it I would be concerned others there's no reason to delay yeah I mean one thing we are finding is is not number one we're going to have to learn to live with covert nineteen I wish that weren't the truth but it's the fact and so there's there's no reason why we can't I have as much for conte opened as safely as possible man crews are conducting elections you know my my guess they'll be a lot more absentee ballots cast in this election but there's no reason we can't open up polling stations maintain social distancing just like we're doing grocery stores and other big box stores and by the way there's no reason why mainstream businesses can't be opened and practice the same level source dismissing the big box stores can as well so we got it back in in general there's got to be a more rational approach it you know early on when we do have this information yeah there there are legitimate concerns about this is the the snafu these but we have more information out of the public is taking it seriously they're just naturally employing social distancing practices and we we need to open up a spot for economies possible amenities Alexion's servizi time certainly at the nation's capital let's get back to work today thanks for taking our call this morning every day is a healthy yeah you too senator Ron Johnson United States senator from Wisconsin W. C. show the morning news here with Dave lawyers reproach seven o'clock all the news and CBS and unstable have all the local news and there is a lot of it and coming up at seven twenty will talk to the governor this morning after his announcement yesterday at six o'clock was occurred across the state and you certainly were but by now if you're not will give you more details right in the news at seven o'clock also going up a little later this morning we'll talk about the the real meaning of churches and with the pastor of river valley church is a huge congregation there that's a pastor a caroling will join us also the CEO and president of our lifetime fitness Brahma properties back with us this morning and talk with a brown about what potential is set up they have at of the fitness centers which has been a concern for a lot of people as well so busy morning here on WCCO three six on newstalk eight threo WCCO what.

"There's a show in a season two of the club which called take it on trust in. It was the very first show to introduce the character of Zoe. Grant Libya's best friend of course we've gotten to know Zoe pretty well last few years but that was her first show in the thing that made that moment in the studio memorable for me was We had to do something called wilding when even when we try our best to get everybody in the studio at one time. Somebody can't make it and in that particular instance it was Kelly Stables Who had some scenes opposite zoe? Who's played by Natalie Lander so we need somebody to fill in for? Olivia and actually perform the scene with Natalie and that was me writing news. Livia we're having a garage sale. Mom and Dad said if I organized it myself I can donate all the money to the ethical treatment of CZYZ UVA and with kind of beatle and they're so misunderstood it breaks my heart. I do have some other news two-zone but it's top secret really. What isn't the fun thing? After the fact was that of course La via or Kelly came in later in the day and Dave Arnold Played Zoe to her Olivia. So wh what's the Exciting News Olympia? Well we're having a garage sale. Mom and Dad said if I organized it myself I can donate all the money to the ethical treatment of cool there kind of beatle and they're so misunderstood. It breaks my heart but I do have some other news to Zoe. But it's kind of top secret. What is it so when you hear the scene and take it on trust What you're hearing is two girls who were playing opposite to men acting like teenage girls and I think that Somewhere someone put together my lines and Dave's lines to make one scene and hopefully that never gets out. So what's this Exciting News Livia? We're having a garage sale. Mom and Dad said if I organized at myself I can donate all the money to the ethical treatment of Czyz Uva. Oh cool and they're kind of beatle and they're so misunderstood. It breaks my heart. I do have some other news to Zoe. But it's top secret. Really what is it you promise not to tell anyone? Of course I always keep your secrets. I know it's just that well. This is a big one. Remember when I told you I had an appointment with talent agency. Sure said it didn't go very well. It didn't. They were nice but I gotta look at the Judges Sheet. It's said my nose was to stern. My voice to squeaky and my feet looked like little flippers. Are you sure they weren't judging duck? No it wasn't me. It was pretty discouraging but then they called me back no and said I was the absolutely ideal actress for a certain commercial. They were getting ready to film. Oh No yes. That's the most amazing fantastic thing that's ever happened. Did you already tape pay you? Yes and yes so I am best friends with a real live. Television ACTRESS.

"So there's an every time you have a cultural shift there's anxiety around that mi mi really feeding my family it it it might giving them these satisfying meals that they're going to be able to build their lives on if i serve them a grain ball instead of meat love peace and mashed potatoes and that i think is personally why it's so fraught so that's one element then the other element is time i mean who has time to make that grain on how do we do it faster well the instant pot is one way that we can help cut down on time but there are a lot of other ways you know we can alma there's we can use a combination of really great foods that we buy like kim she for example condiments and then keep our cooking technique to things that are really simple and really fast we can use fresh foods at don't demand a lot of time we can do a little bit of planning and so it's sort of all of these things that are just centered around that six o'clock anxiety and you know you i know i start to feel it a four i don't know about you i think four o'clock is like oh my god what am i gonna make for dinnertime so the is to pipe cook things really quickly obviously which has great is there a way to cook things even faster if you're really pressed for time yes so chunk size chunk size is one of the biggest discoveries i made is that the bigger the peace of whatever it is in your instant pot the longer it will take so if you're cooking and entire pork shoulder it takes twice or three times the amount of time is it would if you cut that park shoulder into cheops so same thing with beans so big beans like chick peas take longer than teeny we need a little beans like lentils so if you're in a hurry choose something that small she's the lentils save the chick peas her when you have more time cut your pork shoulder into pieces cut your chicken thighs into pieces and just knowing that really helps you kind of take the machine and make it work for you are amount of time if you know that you have twenty minutes.

"The quicker they cook so for this chicken curry recipe i cut the size into smaller pieces and it just cooks really quickly and then i have this coconut milk curry sauce i serve ever rice it's tomato e it's scott spices in it it's so delicious enrich and it's it's an under i mean the whole thing you know i think the whole thing from the second you walk in your house and take your we take your cut off you will have dinner including all of your prep it'll be on the table in under an hour and we're talking seven minutes of cooking i don't know if you've experienced as i'm sure you have from from readers but i feel like the concept of dinner to spill so fraught for so many people there's so much anxiety around the idea of whipping together dinner and i wonder why that is if you have any thoughts about that allah has so many thoughts on that yeah that's why i wanted to write the book the dinner cookbook because it is fraught because we are so anxious about it we feel this responsibility and to create the sort of 1950s pictureperfect dinner of it we have our protein and we have our two sides and we all sit down as a happy family and with our big glasses of milk and we eat the center and it's just not the way any of us i think for most of us want to eat these days i mean wouldn't we rather have just like a giant grain bowl with cash roasted salmon on it or roasted chicken with as soy dressing and really you know beautiful they may be some kimche that you picked up the market and maybe some great ito snow peas eric broccoli that you've just steamed and you have all these flavors and textures in one ball and you're going to be are like is not a better sounding meal to you but we think is that really dinner we question ourselves we secondguess at like who i don't know if that's dinner maybe that's if i go out or as were take out or is that lunged because it doesn't have these elements that we are so used to thinking of and i just think it some were right now and this moment of having this cultural shift of how we define dinner.

"Fifty eight minutes later and they are d delicious and then you get all this broth the chick pea broth is another one of those this is isn't this is an upgrade savior chick pea broth everybody because chick pea broth key can use it it's a it's free because you're making your chickpeas anyway put it in the freezer use instead of chicken broth it is so delicious has so much flavor and what else you get an don't don't you're in it i mean it's just too good people there are people who are really into aqua fibers that when it's okay did you can use it yes you can use it in like vegan dishes substitute for eggs if it's so truce i actually people who who are really good vegan cooks know about chick be brought they're all over it but i think other people who may not know about aqua fabra chippy broth y e but you can use it it actually can thicken things you can whip it up and it comes a stick viscous liquid which is amazing instead of eggs you can use it to a mole suffice sauces wow i now so the instant hut that i've seen like act as pressure cookers they also are rice cookers they also are slow cookers yes that right and then they're also yogurt makers like how does the yogurt get into the mix okay the yogurt thing is really cool because you could control the temperature the only thing that's hard about making yogurt is getting the fermentation temperature right you need to fermented at about one hundred ten degrees you to between one hundred hundred and ten and where are you going to do that in your house ray so it'll hold the temperature at a hundred and ten so you just you just leave it in your hot and it does it and then it's all it's completely automattic which is really nice it takes the anxiety out of it and what i like about it also is that because it's a slightly higher it keeps the 100 and ten you know consistently i find it gets have really nice thick kurd um when i do it at home with when i do without the that constant temperature it's a little bit fenner because the temperature drops and that thicker yogurt is often because of a slightly higher temperature just keeps it perfect.

"The you know you can do in the quantities you are talking about and also fit what you're doing i'll give you an example but so you're going to have a party right first choice our people going to sit or a people going to be milling about eating things right if people are going to be milling about eating things then you must choose things that don't go bad sitting on the table right or if you're going to serve drinks right you must serve something that is going to be okay for the duration of the party because you will not have time to fix it midflow right so it's like you know i know the these things are day classa but you know a large bowl of guacamole last forever and is delicious now but anyway so they have things that got going to sit out if you're going to do for instance if you're going to have a um i did it my wife had to do a baby shower right and so she said to me now in our baby some else baby and as she was like hey so you're going to cook something for the baby shower i was like sure she like but also you can't be there i was like okay so with him that's an interesting problem so the problem is is that you have to be able to prep it all and have it be cold seino's really good like like a a cold war lot of chicken right see if you put a chicken out for this that's meant to have a krispy skin you've lost because the skains not going to say krispy right but if you do like a nice relied it's kind of like poached out it served in cold set were war room temperature which is disgusting word but my wife and i went went to a restaurant and they said we have a pasta in a room temperature's sauce and we were like all others gotta be a veteran word for that you know what i mean ah because this is a harbinger of the.

"The last time this character was odd in episode with episode fifty eight tokyo album i don't remember live while front if it was episode fifty even open for something like that yeah 40 to 60 but man from fifty eight to eight hundred now let but that just shows the fill all are coming back to the team yeah i think so to me he wrote to the wilson knocks one um and bring giving that glimpse back into whitten is objects album missile again i i think i am as a large fee a large part to do with i think i've just as happy about him coming back because i was about paul mcoscar coming back during the dave arnold in palm because her coming back during the weird period of osce when they were doing those half oh yeah half episodes in whatever right after that when they switched over an changed a back to i think those when dave no they brought on paul was the executive producer and then he switched with dave until he left but i think it probably was needed somebody to bring the vision back i guess i don't know why i felt i called odyssey yeah i think some back i think so but there's a lot going on in this one noise so you have the whole thing with with buck and jewels and then you've got the the sadness of reading tom's will in the new thing with economy eugene and then he had this really neat nostalgic feel of having becky riley go back in at any of these all these new wacky characters the less got yes it just like there's a there's a lot going on but it didn't feel confusing or john gathering at a job laugh i mean the only complaint i have about the whole thing is it was like okay.

"Yeah oh yeah yeah yeah he later he and chris had a lot of fun yeah credits exactly several times yeah those were so funny i love that and this is just happened in a recent odyssey episode at dave arnold likes he's like he said his name like okay you known louisville amour's all the actors sit say their names i thought how cool with that be if aventis odyssey would do that like a so chris reading and like all the actor does said andrei soga kate lee orion that we really need to be really neat touch and then likely be able to identify these people easier yeah the euro that you don't get every other amal not every other but a lot of audio drama and a lot of different mediums that actors always essay their name new like oh that's that voice was nino early goal you could put you and this than idea now i like that it just it i think that they probably don't do that is because they're of time because of having to fit everything into a radio time you know yeah well it is neither lenin it to say their name yeah exactly within you would know who they play no sailor character and the and their own name right i n and they'd i guess they don't do everybody but christos usually say nowadays anyway yeah yeah audrey stalkers would zach lowe's as a burden but having instead of chris you say you know i dunno some lead into it and then you just have.
