"Hello. From wonder media network, I'm Jenny Kaplan, and this is romantica. Each month of romantica is themed, and this month, we're talking about troublemakers and villains. We're covering stories from across a spectrum from women who made good trouble to women who thrived in illicit industries to villains in the truest sense of the word. Today's episode is about a villain. If you're listening with young children, you may want to sit this one out. Our subject today became infamous for torturing and murdering the serfs who worked on her estate. Her story shocked society and highlighted the grave injustices many nobles inflicted on serfs at the time. We're talking about Daria saltykova. Dario was born in March of 1730 to an affluent Russian family. She was the third of 5 daughters. As a young woman, she married a noble man named glove salty cove. The salty co family was well known and while connected in Russian high society. Daria's life changed suddenly in the mid 1750s. When her husband died from unknown causes. At the age of 25, Daria now found herself in charge of 600 serfs. She became the master of an estate called, about 20 miles south of Moscow. For the next 7 years, Daria lashed out. She violently beat and tortured the serfs who worked for her. During her reign of terror, Daria killed as many as a 138 people. Almost all of them young women, some of them pregnant. By some accounts, she was angry at their inability to keep the house as clean as she wanted. Though she made up many of the so called offenses. Daria felt as though she was powerful because of her social status. Thus, why shouldn't she wield that power? Societal power is also how dare I got away with her crimes for so many years. If the peasants attempted to report her, they faced her wrath. This was common at the time. Eventually, two of the serfs were able to secretly get a letter to the Empress herself, Catherine the Great. In it, they detailed the crimes they'd experienced and seen. One of the serfs a man watched Daria kill his first wife. Then his second wife, and then his third wife. She threatened his own life if he were to try to report it. In 1762, Dario was arrested and held in custody. The authorities performed a thorough investigation lasting 6 years. In 1768, Dario was found guilty of killing 38 people. As part of her sentence, she was chained to a platform in the public square with a sign that read, this woman has tortured and murdered. The story of her crimes was well known among the public, and crowds of people came to look at her. Daria was then forced to live in a convent for the rest of her life. This was a common sentence for women of the time, but Darius was especially harsh. She was isolated and forced to live in perpetual darkness. She got a candle with her meals that was taken away when she was finished eating. Daria refused to repent for her crimes. By 1779, she was moved to a different cell. This one had a window. When people walked by or came near the window, she spat and shouted at them. Daria died in prison on November 2nd, 1801. What Daria did was horrific. It was also emblematic of the ways noble people treated their serfs at the time. Serfdom was technically different from slavery and that the wealthy could buy serves labor, but not the serfs themselves. In practice, though, the two worms are forced servitude were very similar. Serfs were forced to work and the conditions were almost universally bad. They had no legal rights and no way to leave. Many estate owners had their own jails on their property, where they would torture prisoners. Daria was no exception. Daria became a well-known villain in Russia. She gained the nickname salty chica. While the nickname doesn't happen exact meaning, just the fact that she, a noblewoman was known by this name was a coup. It's likely the serfs gave it to her, a small act of rebellion that's.

"In the studio tonight. It's on Darya 603283616. Zero. Maybe you have an opinion about what happened in Washington D c Today. People seem to know I wanted actually, before everything went down in D. C and we're gonna talk about it. We got Vincent going to join us here in just a moment. Because he's been watching it like a hawk all day long, So he knows really what's what's been transpiring. But it was actually Vincent Show, which is questioning authority over on the Shire Free Media Channel on D Live. That's deal. I've got TV slash shire free media. He just changed his channel names to some people are a little confused about that. But that's where you'll find him. Now you were playing on Monday night, Vincent and welcome back to free talk live. You were playing Monday nights and videos of some right wingers who were like trampling on and wanting to burn the thin blue line flags. And I thought, you know what? That's interesting. It's a good development and I had a couple of other listeners say, Hey, you know, you guys might want to talk about this. So is actually my intention to discuss that tonight. And then those, you know that same group of protesters. I mean, maybe not the exact same group, but relatively similar people apparently stormed the capital building today. So Vincent take us back a few days to what happened with the The thin blue line supporters turning against the police. What happened there and then you know, take us to today and what happened in D. C. So what happened in that would that's what put that incident took place in Salem, Oregon, and it was some sort of anti lock down pro Trump rally. You know, proud boy types Marga, You know Patriots. It's a whole collection of different people, usually Um Centered around like different media personalities, and they Arrived in Antifa arrived, and usually they would. In previous instances they'd be able to Duke it out and fight with nonlethal weapons, and it provided excellent content, and he got it out of her systems. But this time the police separated. The You know, I'll just call him the market people, so they separated the market people from Antifa, But then the police would let antifa with firearms and painful weapons. It looked like Go through the line and intimidate them and they got upset and were demanding that the police arresting antifa, and they refused, and then they start shooting pepper balls and gassing them. Hold on. They shot paper balled, meaning the police shot pepper balls and gassed the maga people. Yes, okay. And the mag A PV years, some of them right. You know, it's It's very It's been a long time coming, but it's taken long enough where these people find, and a lot of them are big police supporters. They have family in law enforcement's or just sort of a nation of law enforcement. And they call it like the thin blue line, right. It's visa Visa gray American flags of one blue line. It's for your support for police and you know, for old deep on the police been going on. They've been given a lot of renewed strength and effort. And if they want to defund the police now Sagan said. I bet they wanted to fund the police now. Well, some of them are so southern, but a lot of them are starting to. Finally you see the light and get out of this battered, battered House Citizen syndrome. On, so they started they they dragged a thin blue line flag on the ground. They invited people to stomp on it. One woman, at least in the footage that I saw one woman ran up and was, you know, say it was trying to dissuade them, But they shouted her down. Nice and, you know, Yeah. Yeah, And it's a growing trend Where a lot of these people who used to cheer the police every time they saw police at a rally of aid, you know, give him high fives and thank them even if they are arresting them or intimidating them. Uh, you know, it's really discussing. It's hard to watch and now versus a screaming effort. Police for yelling at the cops. And today D. C. They were some of them were in fact brawling with the police. Yeah, I saw some of that footage. You're in the local keen chat Telegram here Because you you spent quite a many years here in keen and you hanging out with us, and they're you've been just watching this thing closely today and picking up a variety of different Pieces of footage of these protesters breaching the Capitol building. And actually, you know, indoors and outdoors, getting into fights with the police. Many of these people would have been waving the police than blue line flag just, you know, days before. And now things all of a sudden are turning on a dime, which is very interesting, right? And I'm glad you bring that up. Because a lot of the things that they spent these people shout at the police, whoever for boomers or you know young people or Jen's ears. Whatever they would say I used to support you guys for four years. I supported you guys for months. I was marching, you know, support you guys. And it's like they say it as if it's like been a personal betrayal, right? To them. It sort of has. I mean, we saw the same thing when Trump came to power. You know, the Democrats were really upset because it never occurred to them that all of that power could be used against them. All that power that they had been concentrating and we see the same thing with police. Now it never occurred to these MCA people that the police could use that power against them well, and I would figure the reason for that is because, as you mentioned, Vincent, some of these folks have this sort of obsession with the police. They're fascinated by them by the violence by the So called law and order. A lot of the conservative right wingers loved, you know, trot out the law and order mentality. They support candidates that talk about law and order, even though of course, the Democrats say the same crap about law and order. But for whatever reason, the Republicans get more, you know, excited about it, and so they believed that they were in favor of law and order. And when it turns out that the law has turned against them in order to keep so called order well, now lawn ordered and seem so good anymore, and the police are now their enemy. Low in order can't mean anything right? Because these people want pits to be, you know, just throw the Constitution of the windows. I know Trump is still president. So I mean law and order it can't matter to them anymore. Whether they've made that connection or not, I don't know. But nonetheless, it's a good start to have them be changing their minds in the streets about the police, and they're not the only ones changing their minds. So what I'm hearing from leftists is that you know, they kind of wish these protesters have been shot. Well, that's not a surprise. Let me bring that up. Yeah, there. Suddenly, The left supports the police. If we will remember back Tol when Trump was inaugurated, there were riots..

"Let's start with a look at a European capital that's often overlooked by the beach crowd who enjoy Croatia's crystal clear coastline. But miss out on the scene in its capital city. It has a distinctively modern take on old world charm and it's just a few hours inland. To tell us about saga we're joined now by local guide Darya goateed. She's joined by Ben Curtis who writes about the Balkan regions elaborate history and thinks that Croatia's best period may be now Darya in Ben Welcome my pleasure. Same. Thank you for having. US Doria. You're from Zagreb your guide in Zagreb, a lot of Americans no Dubrovnik. Venice and a lot of Americans know the Anna Zagreb is right there in the middle. What should we know about Zagreb? Nanna. Saga is I would say the mix of. All these big capitals around and all these much better known cities around from historical perspective It was influenced by different cities and countries. So we have a little bit of all of that. What's an example? How is it a little bit of? How is it a little bit of Italy says it a little bit of the Slavic World So? obas part of the hops Burke monarchy later austro-hungary for few hundred. Years. And then architecture in town is very much what we would call out through nor Central European. So the mixture of Hungarian hungarian-austrian. We don't have much Dubrovnik textures that. Is Zog. Is completely different about the cuisine that scene is also very influenced by Austria but not only that we do eat struggles and. A lot of meat and potatoes and then on the other hand we also eat. A lot of Pasta beat some. We are very sensitive on coughing, and then we also have the Turkish influence because arguable also for few centuries, just about forty, five, fifty miles Sir north from the Ottoman Empire boarder okay. It's a crossroads release across through the s the Ben Curtis here in American who has a fascination and a deep interest in this part of Europe how would you say Zagreb is unique Zagreb is unique for being this gem of a central European capital. So everybody can measure saying they know Budapest, Vienna, they know Prague, but here's this. Gym of a historical city that hardly any American visits right and even though Zagreb stars rising on the Tourism Front these days but you can go there and it's not gonna be jammed with busloads of tourists from all over the place you're not gonNA hear a lot of other North American accents and you're going to be able to experience the city where the fabric of locals you're going to be sitting in a cafe with mostly other people from Zagreb, and that's great and it's hard to find that in Dubrovnik are in Vienna these days a year. Exactly. So if you had two nights in in one Danes, is there enough to keep you busy. Yeah. For sure I think, what would you do if you're gonNA show me around for a day the it's a great kind of one day stop if you're coming in and out for some of the coast. So Zagreb surprisingly has some of I think are the best museums of its kind in Europe now they're quirky right? You don't. Go desire grab for the Louvre or something like that. But you go to Zagreb for these unusual small museums like the Museum of naive art, which is great sort of not formally trained perhaps painters but really characteristic art with peasant themes. The famous one which is kind of made headlines around the world is a museum of broken relationships which is filled with these stories of couples who have broken up the objects that they have Meant something to them and they've given it this museum and so it's just a really interesting kind of poignant sometimes hilarious trip through people's relationships. So when we think of this naive art, I love this idea because you go to most art galleries in Europe Bennett, the opposite of naive arted this refined fully embraced high-society art but naive art is by definition just unschooled hasn't Sir Working People that just had a passion for painting. Exactly but are often very, very talented even if they didn't train at the academy or something like that but they're expressing the lives and cultures and artistic visions of people from the rural areas and it's genius really an undiscovered genius that happen to come out of the farm community or something absolutely. I love that museum by the way that that's really one of the unique things in Europe and it is in the capital of Croatia Zagreb.

"To buster on Lee and courses are Sunday Night Sideline reporter as well, though I'm not sure how you're gonna be doing it this year, Buster from your from your homes. Is that eyes that how you do on the sideline reporting? I don't think they even ask anything official. But I think that there's a pretty good guess I feel like that. The Kubo broadcast from South Korea are good indicator where baseball announcers are going to be in 2020 Good points, right, Buster. Let's get right to it. This is one of those stranger days in the history of the game. Players coming in driving in the parking lots at their stadiums, getting tested and then going back to their hotels or or apartments or houses to wait for the results, and then We'll start up at this, You know, Summer Camp Spring training two point. Oh, on Friday if they pass, of course. What's the expectation around baseball? I mean, we're talking dozens. We talking hundreds that are going to test positive and will be taken out of the mix for a bit. What do you think? At least dozens. There is a lot of trepidation about this because you and there's no one to blame for this situation. But for baseball is a road the other day for baseball to start right now. Given the recent outbreak that we've seen in so many key states that for baseball, it's like dropping a sail boat into the water just is the hurricane appears on the horizon. I mean, that's just it. It's terrible luck for baseball that you suddenly have these, You know outbreaks in Florida and Texas in Arizona, California where so many players live, and so Justin talking with officials of the team level in recent days. They think they're going to be some really high test numbers coming up. You know how that'll affect thinking Well, if in fact that's the case, and we get You know if let's say it was somewhere in the range of 100 to 150 positive tests, which would be something a range of 7% 10%. It's too early to say, but that is a fear among folks of the team level that the number is going to be really big. You bring up a great point, just about timing because a lot of players live in the off season in the Phoenix and area as well as Florida and or they were at spring training and just stayed there the entire time and happy, you know, famously put together. A podcast called the compound. You know they were in Arizona the whole time. So even if they didn't live there in the off season, they were there for spring training and stayed there. Now, as those states spike their flying into, let's say, Chicago guaranteed rate field to get tested Wrigley Field to get tested, So they were in hot spots, and now they're returning to their home cities, possibly bringing the virus with him, right? That's that's the concern, and it's why you know it Last week is this process really began to start? I mean shooters only week ago that we know Major League Baseball Player Association came up with something to move forward on so many people the team level we're basically telling me like This is false Hustle. We don't know how we're going to get through this. There's so many variables here. I You know, I've been joking with some of the folks who are at the head of baseball ops like because of how this is playing out, and there aren't really any experts. On covert working with a team level. Theo Epstein is now like the governor of co bid for the Cubs. No. Rick Hahn is the governor of co bid for the White Sox. And all these teams have been scrambling to put some of these health and safety protocol in place. And meanwhile, swimming against the tide of what we're seeing across this country, which is really Divided opinion on on the Corona virus, where some players are taken is very seriously and they're all in on social distancing a wearing mask and some of the things already getting Some feedback from players that they feel like this. This is all overstated. It's not that big of a deal. It'll be very interesting to see you know how these teams come together and how the response is going to be once they get together in a team atmosphere buster listening to you over the weekend and Darya Mel eyes suggesting that there's a 0% chance that we finished the baseball season. Have you changed your opinion there? Do you think that there's more information that cannon Back up your opinion on the fact that we may not even get this season in the Can You go less than zero Buster and Ah, look, and I base that on What? What? I'm hearing from the team level. I do think that the next 45 days. You're going to be absolutely crucial because it's going to, you know, potentially reveal where baseball is on if it turns out that the numbers are more modest, and then what some of the fears are than Yeah, is long is baseball. Khun get a beach head and move forward. I know there's some club executives who say Look, if we if we actually get this started and the wheels start turning, and people start understanding that on a day to day basis, there'll be some players dropping out. You know, being treated then coming back to the team than then we'll push ahead and for major league baseball for the Players Association know there's a lot of money at stake. But I am concerned, you know, Based on what I'm hearing from folks of the team level. But this could unravel and let's face it. You know, the Russian roulette and this whole thing is, is that if you get, you know, God forbid some really serious cases or God forbid something worse than that. That is going to change the conversation around baseball about this whole thing. Yeah, I mean, Cubs pitching coach Tommy Hottovy revealed today and he's doing a press conference as we speak that he had it bad and he's 38 years old. That's the sort of thing that would hit home. I believe it's It's a lot harder to get your arms around this thing unless you know someone and and or to have a celebrity. Well, here's someone in baseball pitching coach who's young, who had it bad, So that's the kind of thing that would resonate. I would think, Buster, 100% and I also I think that There needs to be absolute transparency about what the numbers are to inform the staffers like Tommy to inform the players about what the context is that they're going into guys like Anthony Rizzo, Jon Lester, you.

Over processed foods add 500 calories to your diet every day

"Their new diet studies out this week and they add more evidence that when it comes to staying healthy. It may not be enough to just count. Those calories what you choose to eat really does matter in pairs Rb reports on what researchers learned when they tracked the diets and health of thousands of women over two decades when the women's health initiative study began back in the nineteen nineties about twenty thousand women were put on a diet. They were told to cut back on fatty foods such as red meat and full fat, dairy, and they were told to add in more plant based foods, here study, author Rowena Boesky of the Los Angeles biomedical research institute at harbor UCLA medical center, but we ask them women to eat more fruits vegetables, and grains, but also to reduce their total. Fat intake, two decades later, what he and his colleagues have found is that women who were put on this diet at twenty one percent lower risk of death from breast cancer. Compared to women who didn't change their diets. This is significant because this is the first intervention study at anytime targeting breast cancer, where reduction in deaths from breast cancer has been seeing this study adds to the evidence that what you eat can be an important driver of health, but it also raises new questions about exactly which changes the women in the study made that may have been most beneficial. Here's Jennifer Liga belt a medical oncologist at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, there's been a walk that we've learned in the time since the study started about healthy fat, and unhealthy fat at a time when we're told to eat, plenty of healthy fats sources such as KADO 's and olive oil. Was it really an overall reduction in fat during the study that worked in the women's favor? Or was it due to other factors such as all of the good, nutrients and fiber that come from eating more fruits, vegetables, and whole, grains, Schabowski says it's just not clear. We can't really separate out at the present time. Which component was important. But we have blood on all forty eight thousand women, and now we will be a number of analyses to see if we can dissect out which were the important components. So there's much more to learn now. One interesting point, the women in the study were not told to count calories or reduce calories, but overall, they did lose weight. We didn't target caloric intake reduction, but the women did reduce their weight by about three percents. I think it's a message of dietary moderation the signings fit with another new study out this week that evaluated the effects of an ultra process diet compared to minimally processed diet it to finds that an overall healthy diet containing plenty of fruits vegetables, and whole grains can help prevent weight gain Darya schmo, Zafar, Ian is dean of the Friedman school of nutrition at Tufts University. "Best phones, best networks, no contracts, when I get to the bottom of this CIA type of level of secrecy and practice and and severity of repercussions. If it gets out who's leaking which player they're going to take with their six picks in the top thirty eight or whatever it is listen fail. You taking yourself a little bit too seriously. If you're worried about leaks, then why are these people working on your staff? Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock are interesting to say, the least I like my Kalat Jon Gruden has found himself in a situation where. Traded away. Two cornerstones of a franchise now has nothing but draft picks the show fourth. He's gotta hit on a lot of these to go forward. But Rachel, do you think it's a big deal? Not that the raiders sent home their entire scouting staff to make sure that who no one around the NFL knows you're gonna pick. No. I mean when I I saw the story. I was like what why is this even a story? I don't really think it's that big of a deal. I think the bigger issue is something that you touched on and the opening is if you don't trust them. Why are they there? I think it's more of a maybe the writing on the wall, they're going to be cleaning out the house cleaning house until they get everybody. It is that they want on the team is sounds like he's already been doing that. I guess it started in December got rid of the GM. Now, it's moving on. I guess it's trickling down. And maybe they're going to get rid of the scouts. That's how I looked at the story when I first saw. But to me, it wasn't that big of a deal. I am on the other big deal is interesting. I think anything on social media can seem like a big deal, but it's all an vacuum in a sense. But this for me rates set general manager Reggie McKenzie. Was let go I feel like this is Jon Gruden and his crew trying to figure out who are Gruden guys and who are McKenzie guys. And I think that's where this discussion is this is more of a vetting out process for walking better phrase on trying to find out before the draft. Are you with me are you not because once Reggie McKenzie was let go you knew there's more moves to come. And Jason your hundred percent, correct. When you trade to cornerstones away, you did and both cornerstones play exponentially better with their new teams, then they did with you in Oakland puts more pressure on those picks. But what you've got a lifetime deal that Jon Gruden somehow has with the Las Vegas raiders. Signing a hundred million dollars for ten years, which is still asinine to me for coach given that Lee. That's what this is. This is a vetting process to find out which people in that room are still with Reggie McKenzie. And which people in that room are going to go with Jon Gruden moving forward. ESPN NFL inside. It was on Darya mill. His name is Adam Schefter. And here's how he feels about the situation in Oakland. Nothing unusual. Lot of Scott's a lot of teams get sent home. There's been talk and speculation of changing staff along there are many rooms that don't allow their scouts in the war room. I I guess I missed it. But I don't see anything. That's all that shot me about it. Adam Schefter does anything. That's all that shocking about it. And I I don't know if I do either. But that's that's the to me that speaks to the ridiculousness of NFL front offices and NFL head coaches to me like you've got these guys who I got to be the first one in the last one out if that were if that was simply the key to success than everybody would be taking nodoze and drinking coffee all night long to get themselves to a twelve four record. Or you got on the other hand guys like Steve Spurrier during his coaching tenure who was out golfing, a whole hell of a lot and people were usurping his authority. I think a coach and you and your run well by your general manager, and your owner is as as he or she needs to be when it comes to the big decisions the most important relationships. I think in the NFL hierarchy are who's your owner who's general manager who's your coach and who's your quarterback and how what kind of symbiotic relationship to those four half to me. It's not about leaking out who you like in the draft. If you like Josh Jacob. The running back from Alabama. And we are there don't we are known that we know that it's John gruden's propensity to take running backs in the first round laws running backs in the first round. Now Kuyper talked about if you wanna do that job. I don't think anybody's gonna stand in your way in this first round with all the picks that you have. Or if you wanna go out and draft a quarterback because you don't believe in Derek card. You got all these quarterbacks on the board drew locks Jones of the world if the giants mess around and take Daniel Jones at six I would I would be busting my butt to get up to seven if Jon Gruden in Oakland Raiders to take Dwayne Haskins junior. But guess what I know that I play Madden. I watched. I watch college football is not. So secret society is not some secret handshake is not some you. Gotta get a brand on your left, arm and note, he's kind of things. No, no, no. It is not so weird football for Arnie. It's anyone who's paying any kind of tension to the sport. So the ridiculousness that ensues when we start talking about the measures in the lengths that these people go. Through just to keep certain things secret. Guess what's not a secret anymore? Calendar is going to be the number one. Overall, pick did clip Kingsbury had to send everybody home for that. No. I don't think. So Rachel, this is this is your sport, explain yourself. Well, I just think that's the reason we're talking about. Set down another topic on his Taylor. I have no idea about this. Like, I'm backing the Oakland Raiders because that's definitely not my team that the reason that they're so people are talking about this. Or even a story is because it's Jon Gruden and because of the way Jon Gruden has moved throughout throughout, you know, his time of being the head coach with the Oakland Raiders. I think that's the only reason the topic of conversation, and I'm like, Adam Schefter. I mean, I don't really see the big deal of it. But it's because of everything else that he's done. I think I got who sports article called it game of thrones the way that they're in. They're just kind of letting people go without without warning. Of course. I see I don't see. But that's what you know. What that is though, you know, that that is the hair flip on on Twitter. These days doing the whole I've never seen an episode. All this all this fanfare by loves this show, and raise you you haven't seen episode of it. You know, what movie, but to the side b be I used to be one of his shows that has ever been on television, including you old heads out there who want throw mash in there and all the. Set it at Jason one golf tweet me mashing. You know, you wanna throw in Seinfeld and all that no give me nakedness and death. That's what game thrown game of thrones does on an hourly basis. That's fun. That Taylor doesn't watch it because I would say who do you think we are as far as characters on game of thrones since we're on the game of thrones topic right now but Taylor Katie participate, obviously to participate anyway, this is your show Rachel, I'm just here for you know. The laps. Your show anyway. So. Costlo. No, it's not as it's not your an August show. Now seriously, if this if this is the level of intelligence that that that has to be delved into and secret society of sin, the Scottish staff home because my can't stand the secret society Jason because I think you hit the nail. We don't know who that makes. Right. We act like they act like they're solving. These these riddles that only NFL people can figure out Rachel the only thing of disagree with you on is. I do think it is a big deal because it is Jon Gruden because of what Jon Gruden was given by the Oakland Raiders soon to be Las Vegas raters and how he's handled his business. That's why it's big deal. For instance. If this was the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys even someone else, I agree with you. I don't think it is. But because Jon Gruden and what he's done what it's a big deal my world because I'm not totally sure. Jon Gruden fits in the two thousand nineteen I agree with you..

"This is where wherever all my God. Dragging over. In town. It stopped our party in its tracks. A bunch of tweets saying the same thing the reason I loved it. Because this was I think it was in the second quarter Bud Light Ernie had one with the corn syrup in the first quarter. And that was a long sixty seconds. So this was kind of the sandwich ended up doing another one. You we paid so much attention because the corn syrup one was direct head on Miller lite direct hit on Coors light. It was phony. And it was. Yeah. It was great. It was funny. It was information was like, wow, they really went there. Then this came and we're like, okay. Here's another one. They're going to have a series of ads, and then it turned. And it was here. Everyone's waiting for everyone. A lot of people who are obsessed with that. We're waiting for game of thrones. And then you saw the mountain, and then you saw the dragon. You're like they did what what all my God. And so it shut it down. That's the mountain that was out in. Yeah. In a way, kind of shot for shot moment from game of thrones. A big plot twist. The mountain kills this beloved character. Yes, I thought it was great. I I don't know anything. I don't watch game of thrones sign on and get that part. But the the execution was insane. I meant that thing must have cost what independent movie game thrones. But even I was like I love the sort of playing with the tone because the Bud Light is very silly. The Dillard's anything that very light men and silly and fun. And then it took a turn like, oh that was kind of nice way to poke fun at yourself or to play off your own image brand shopped at around to different brands, they wanted to see who had picked to be open to being a partner came in because they already have that medieval feel they're like this actually would be perfect. So we can do a flip. And nobody knew what I love about. It is that no one knew about it. Because there wasn't a tease or the wasn't anything. It just came at punched you in the face during Super Bowl and everyone. That's fantastic. They kind of locked left speechless. Silence. The hooters. Yeah. Drinks at hooters, which was a lot is a lot of fun. And as soon as the mountain came in everyone went silent and look straight to the TV. Yeah. We saw that onto. My only thinking wasn't. And that when you talk about that way. I totally get it. And I'd like to watch it again. I I know all enjoy it. But. For real because game of thrones for you know, someone who watches it. The town is always very Darya. It's very morbid and macabre best. Yeah. You're talking about humor. It's a senior put in like a silly. Like it. Just didn't connect for me. Like, I okay was put in a Super Bowl is the Super Bowl. Right. You know, when so give it a great Christie, please. I gave it a. Wow, it was a great surprise. Yeah. I also read the reason I missed most of the commercials during the actual Super Bowl. Now, I tape it. And then I go home and sort of watch it quieter sober times. But I had this reoccurring theme at the party, which is I was I would stand. During the commercials. I'm gonna do it during the game during the commercials. I would get in front of the big screen, and I would stand there. And there were millions of kids running around Chimi brought his kids and everyone had Mike August brought his kids and everyone brought other kids, and there's lots of kids who weren't paying attention. But I get up in front of the screen, and I the first one went now, listen kids..

"So if and then later he gets hit in the dick when the softball. Yes. Yeah. So let that be a lesson to all you brink men out there any man who's like the movie Brank is problematic any woman who likes the movie brink. You're you're right. So basically, if there is a surprised in a movie, there's a right way to handle it in a wrong way. But this movie, I think did it the right way. Did. Yeah. We've seen since the eighties and something I liked about this movie and would like to tip my hideous felt hat too. Tip of the ugly grief melt teacher makes you take off to reveal your the hottest. What I would like to tip that thing too. Is that it is rare to see multiple generations of women in a movie at all, and especially three generations of women interacting with each other. I mean, and it's like a lot of the time. They're calling Anne Hathaway ugly. A lot of the times they're not disclosing the details of this accident. Does pass the Loftus test because Bader's lemon and charge. Julie Andrews Andries. Yeah. She's in charge. And and just like seeing a woman over sixty. A prominent role generate normally they'll be like grandma's their mom's dead, right, but grandma's gonna bond with the daughter and all three of them have very different views of what the choice should be in. It's to this movie's credit. We do see these women interacting a lot. And we see that they have different opinions. And sometimes their opinions are weird and stupid. But you know, that's what people are like. So I thought that that was a generally positive thing because you don't usually see three female characters at all much less ones that are related to each other better version of. Women. All I can't believe we're on the stage right now, it's crazy. I've never seen more than two women at one time ever. Not jimmy. You're totally right. And then there's many other female character. Most of the people that Mia interacts with are are women. There's like the Joe exception. There's the joke the the Michael who's basically I agree with Marcia an extension of lily, right? Yeah. She leaves a great lily, but you can't have that in mainstream Hollywood. There were echoes of Dr area in this movie for me where Darya and Jane are very similar Frederick for need Doria heads out there. We're we're just like kids, but she doesn't they have. And that's Jane's brothers. Same thing. They brother because Dario Jane can't hook up and they six Admiral, which is basically shut up and listen. So it's like, oh, yeah. You're. Oh..
