"Because look the bears aren't going to have too many. He plays probably where there are almost turnovers. It'd be like that like they're going to capitalize on these opportunities. If you give it to them and all of a sudden note now, you're giving the offense which doesn't scare you a lot extra possessions. And that's going to be tough. Because all of a sudden now, okay, you have to match that again going up against this tough bears defense. I think turnovers are such a huge thing to kinda be focusing on this week. You just can't have those careless mistakes against this bears team. But like you mentioned giving Nick foles time to throw in the pocket where he's not harassed is going to be too key is going to be the key to all this and getting you know, continued great play from Jason Kelsey on the inside is going to be huge. Brandon Brooks has been unbelievable this year Isaac Sam also being in there as well there. They have to deal with the key Hicks who's a monster in the middle as well. So I mean, this is this is it you like you said this bears defense that is better than the Texans defense. The eagles faces two couple of weeks ago. We did mention that voles has been getting rid of the ball super-quick. Over the last three games. And it's really helped. He's thrown over nine hundred sixty yards passing which is the most over the last three games. He's got a a league best seventy seven percent completion rates. I in yards per attempt. He's I in net yards per pass play. So I mean, if you can get Nick foles time he needs. He they're going to go back to the short passing game. Because this is a bears defense that stuff's the run is going to be like the Texans game where you're probably not going to be able to run Josh Adams all that much or Wendell Smallwood. I I predicted a big game for Darren sproles a couple of weeks ago against the Texans. And I'll do the same thing again, Chicago. I think I think they're going to have to use Darren sproles a lot out of the backfield as a runner, and I'm pardon me as a receiver, and we did see that he broke a couple of runs against the Texans. But that's because he was mostly being viewed as a receiving threat out of the backfield. So yeah, I think that's how the eagles are going to have to move the ball in short chunks are going to have to use. They're going to have to use Darren sproles, and they're gonna have to use Zakar tes short over the middle allot to get those. Four and five yard gains. And and that's you know, that's the form of the way the offense played against the Texans is pretty much how you have to do it against Chicago as well. As not you're going to have to get the ball out quick that's imperative you just give them time. You can't give Khalil Mack time and time to to get after it and blindside sag Nick foles stripped the bottom his hands. You can't do that. And that's the be easier said than done. Sometimes I mean, you know, the bears are going to be expecting that. I'm sure, but you look at what the eagles did against Washington who have an awesome defense. They have some talent of front and the way that they were able to just now they're not going to be able to do it the way they did against Washington because to have a nineteen play eleven minute. I was in Saint like Dr. Crazy. That's just not going to be able to do that. But I mean, you kind of want that thing would be nice to kinda dessino to control the clock there and kind of dismiss audibly move down. And in kinda get the points where you can now I'm not saying aggressive, but you know, just to kinda, you know, make the most of your opportunities in this game. I think it'll be really important. It's just, you know, now say all this, and we talk about this tough there bears defense..

"Drunk driving is no big deal. You could be more wrong. People get hurt or kill. You could get arrested or either lose your job drive drive sober or get pulled over. So the scoreboard watching the bears a seven nothing lead over the Vikings to the first quarter here at FedEx field the eagles of the Redskins or scoreless eagles taking over for their third possession of I twenty one. See if they'd get going here posted drive adopted productive. They've had some penalties. See if they can put something together. Right. I think it's going to start with the running game. Oh. Get Josh Adam told Darren sproles. Established that I. The eagles three at one which dick fold as their quarterback this year. Takes the stat play action says it out of the backfield the scrolls race it out the right side. Not across the thirty at about thirty five by Sean Todd Hamilton at thirteen yard gain out of the backfield to be negative Darren strolls while he's oh so hard. But once he gets out there, and he still has unbelievable quickness. Even after all these years. Doug Peterson told me down the field Davis. He wants sproles back next year. He wants to see a healthy, Derek. Thirty five years old three time pro bowler. Goals that are set cetera. I attended they're all thirty three small. What is the back down? Polls takes the staff. They stretch it to small would cut back on the line across the forty. Hey, take it out by Dick's at the forty six yard line. Thirteen yard run for Wedel Smallwood twenty four year old West Virginia his third year. Boy at that time by chasing, Peter stretching the defensive line that got up to linebacker and spoil would hit it quickly and is quick to the whole through the whole. To help to carries 21-yard Josh Adams back it. Now. I attended forty six. Inside had to add up to the left side of the line swallowed up backwards. They get forward progress of about a yard E Kentucky there to lead the charge for the Redskins. They give a yard the forty seven. Toper for nobody has been active so far. The last ride for the eagles. Play. They're taking advantage of the opportunity with the tobacco. Seconded die. Now the eagles and their own forty seven yard line. Putted five minutes to go in the first quarter was scoreless. Sproles the back to the right of polls. The shotgun. Casey Kelsey snaps back on a jet. Sweep by the end around. Galore gets a first down driven down from behind by sack ground after about a thirteen yard pickup. But I doubt is coveted motion. A lot of Bish direct shot there. Nice fake by foles to look like he was going to do the run pass option. But he'd already hated off galore. Oh, boy headed off the run pass option to Darren sproles and the Redskin linebackers exclusive basic foster went the wrong way and got a big run out. I for the eagles all the forty three. The redskins. Eagles white helmets going left to right. Fold extends his hands in a shotgun..

"He goes he goes back backup quarterback comes back out there to leave the game winning field goal drive after getting absolutely spirit on what I thought was very legal play. But whatever absolutely speared comeback out takes them down the field. His his L Sean end incredible third and ten thirty fifteen. Maybe go conversion in that moment. Anyway, while he was getting all my goodness Zakar. It's breaks the single season receiving record for tight ads with a whole game to spare fumbles on the frigging record-breaking reception. Because why not of course, unbelievable? Darren sproles who've all year has not been able to get on the field has an unbeliever. Leave -able vent. Twelve touches one hundred eight yards. Touchdown. The exact Darren sproles game. We've needed the good gave running back. We've always needed to have the defense has a good game. The you're thirty points, obviously of like fourteen in the fourth is always frigging do, but they came out in the third very strong. I thought and avanti's fought against the Andrea Hopkins. Hopkins nine catch one hundred four yard touchdown reception day, that's a w in my book against that receiver with these quarters the the past Russia's a half second half. Secondly, half second-half. Secondly, all day finally gets there for a huge strip sack when the game is still in contention the third quarter. All my goodness. What an what an exhilarating game one of fun game to watch. I'm exhausted. Nick foles thirty five for four nine four hundred and seventy one yards for touchdowns in interception. Like, I said like going into the half the stat line, look good. But you're like, okay. He had the strip sack and he had misfires. There was some high throws and whatnot. He just. Gets it together. Mentally when when it matters somehow, he makes it happen. It's it's astonishing to me. And we often talk with rational heads about like, okay? This is what was does. Well, this is what fulls does well full just in the second half. Like I was tainted on saying that he was having a really good game. I thought he was playing solid and then he he just catches fire. It's incredible. And we gotta talk so foles. It's very important. I'm sad had four hundred seventy one yards. Four touchdowns. One interception. Fantastic. We're talking about forty nine passing attempts almost fifty rides. Remember back in twenty sixteen twenty seventeen. We will get so worried about the amount of attempts. Carson was taking right? Of course, never attempted actually is not true in twenty sixteen and twenty seventy he never attempted forty nine passes at fifty passes in Tennessee game this year. I went overtime. So he's got hired him that this was more than course, more to single game. Of course, never tempting to two seasons. Obviously breaks the single game passing record, Nick. Foles does. But in the most foldaway possible, he does it with the yards per attempt less than ten of nine point six, and that's how it should have been. And that's what we said supplant the run game with the quick passing game. I only ran twenty two times fifty passes. If you count the sun feld throw, which honestly like dogs aggressive is my favorite thing in the world. No more. So than his third string quarterback goes out on a ten game winning drive in a mustard game. And throws it. I love it. But fifty passes to twenty two runs. Not even a two to one ratio a greater than two ratio passing the football and sprawls nine carries thirty two yards with a log of sixteen only average three point six atoms with eleven carries for twenty one yards average less than two yards. A carry. This was not an effective run a game average of two point six yards per carry total across the backs across Nick foles on his one scramble. So there you go. This is not going to be a game where you're gonna be able to run the ball actively. You saw David clowney was doing especially once Peter out quick mother Mary in heaven. We knew he was gonna have a good game. We knew he was a problem. Sweet lord. I was like all right. They need. They put a give by chip on both sides help on either shoulder. I don't care cloud is gonna murder vice step that up in. That regard shadows. The Johnson was fantastic on the right hand side..

"Seattle twice gashed him on the ground. I'm going to give you one example. Okay. Just just play one. Sample. The eagles had a seventeen yard run by Darren sproles on third and four on their first. Touchdown drive. Okay. You might not remember the exact play. But the point I'm trying to make is on that seventeen yard run. There were no defenders in the a or the be gaps for the Rams. That's unheard of. That's just fundamentally wrong. So literally anybody could have run through that for seventeen yards. Those are the kinds of mistakes that I've seen on film all year you mentioned against the Seahawks earlier in the season. I think their first meeting against the Seahawks. There were a number of runs where they were not gap sound. So look Wade Phillips sought smarter than you. And I but something's not right. I agree. I want to throw this out before we get to our big play. Everybody knows. I love Andrew lock. He's a calming influence. He's had an impulsive owner a GM get fired a head coach just now he has an offensive line. Chris Ballard's done a great job. Am I overstating how great of year? He's having or has Ballard gotten him, really. Nice pieces because when I watch Andrew lock ICS machine. I like it. I would vote him MVP. I think he elevates Eric Hebron felt like a bust in Detroit. Right A, T Y Hilton. I like, but he's not Julio Jones. Is this a luck story? Or is it they're a little more than we think? Personnel. Lies. Can I flip the script here their defense because I think over the last six seven weeks, and I don't have the stats, but it would not surprise me. If over the last six seven weeks, they're the best defense in the league in terms of points allowed per game. And I think they're new coordinator took a bunch of guys who we didn't view with high talent guys and turn this group into a really strong group. We know about Darius Leonard, but they're playing with you know, in their in their sub package they're playing with peer to sear who's been with about four teams and Quincy Wilson on the outside. And this team is doing exceptionally. Well, so I think their defense has played a large role over the last month five six weeks. No. Question about Andrew luck. I think he's played great football. And I think Frank ripe Reich has helped him for Mendis-led. But I think this defense needs to be spoken about. Yeah. They they had. I I gotta tell you. They Darius Leonard Quinton Nelson. They had a very good draft cow. Yeah. Anymore was a waiver wire guy or is one of the best plot corners in the league. Yes. And he was all gung waivers from somebody. So they the staff deserves a ton of credit on the defensive side. Okay. Play of the week. Let's go to your one big play. And I love it. Because I love this player. "You know, it's a fair question to raise whether he is injury prone because now it's four in four years less one for Jeff in terms of running back here. Now, here's Nick foles right now, everyone can think that in bust the dog masks back out again, right everybody. Overlooking them nobody believes they have shot, you know, obviously, there's no joy or blunt walking through that door. There's a banged up secondary. But there is Darren sproles there is golden Tate. What do you think is that is that the the pie in the either at all do Jeff McLean? Doug Peterson did a great job of writing that way the underdog wave last year, he's kinda struggled with the new message this year. So maybe maybe pick up where they left off with Nick foles. Look, you know, this team has many more issues than than what than just you know, the quarterback issue. Even Nick comes in there and places he did during the during the postseason, you know, aside from the injuries. They just you know, offensively just just hasn't been there. They've only scored twenty points in the first quarter all season, which is last in the NFL dogs play calling has been suspect of and the defenses, you know. Yeah. The secondary's been battered. But even before they started suffering all his injuries in the back in the defensive backfield. They weren't getting the job done especially in the fourth quarter. They blew a few games certainly gets the Panthers. So team has stomach issues all season. I just you know, and then going going to LA and having the face, you know, Ramstein that's coming up law. So we know how exposed that. They could be on offense. I mean that could be the final nail for this team any sense of John D Filipo out there making him Hugh Jackson, partout fired. And then joining a team couples said no way. Respect, john. But you know, he's he's good with the guys that he has now and realistically I mean, I just didn't see him bringing in somebody because that would undermine micro who replaced Frank Reich as offensive coordinator and press Taylor who plays. Jonty Filipo a quarterbacks coach. And you know, if if they were close to get in the playoffs, maybe you pull a Josh mcdaniels you bring back a guy like that that help get you know, over over that that last step there. But but considering the situation I just don't see Doug going, Jeff, thanks for the call pre. She had it really pre sheet you getting on the phone line. And giving us the the latest. That's Jeff mclain. You bet you bet. Thank you. Jeff proclaiming Philadelphia Inquirer. Wow. What's going on with the medical staff there? No wonder everybody in Philadelphia. I mean, that's all you're seeing on Twitter right now, some wild speculation as to the of severity of winces back injury..

"Who's who's bad is this? I mean who's who's song is this seriously? That's you've been hard sock fan italics. Love me, some tonics. Yeah. But that's not one of their songs, right? That's just a cover song is guilty. I feel like everybody would know. Did you I thought locally it's Cappellano instruments? You're unbelievable. We're doing the guilty pleasure songs. Tim McManus NFL Bachchan eagles reporter is going to join us as we start our greatest preview of the week ever. Preview of the week ever. Cowboys eagles. I'm pump for this one. But before we get into the the beat and potatoes of this. Tim McManus your favorite guilty pleasure song that you listen to going into Jerry world stadium today. That's a that's a tough one anything. You know? I I have a young kid. So maybe something out of a Taylor swift for for their sake. I love him. Oh, man. Hey, listen, we saw and I'm gonna take the other side of this. First Cowboys beat the saints last week. Not a lot of people thought that that was going to happen. Especially the way they did it thirteen defensive battle going against the eagles this week here in a in a pivotal game in the NFC east. What's the one thing? If you're an eagles fan that should concern you about what Dallas was able to do to drew Brees last week. Well, certainly the way that they were able to shut that high powered offense down and yet to breeze. I mean, the the one thing is he was getting knocked around in that game. And if the offense of property eagles can't sustain that kind of protection for for Carson Wentz. Then they're really in trouble. And I think in particular, the linebacking core four Dallas is starting to play lights out and that was evident in that twenty seven twenty win in Philadelphia that you referenced and I think it has been showing up including that saints game. And that's going to be a key factor. I think as they as a very key division game unfolds on Sunday. We talked to Tim McManus NFL nation eagles reporter Darren sproles made his return last week. How is his return impacting this team is eagles team is it's interesting as you watch them throughout the season. They're they're high. They're low Wednesday is up and down. Is there any element of smoothing out? This this ride is they try to make their playoff push. Let's take the ground game. Absolutely. Is that elixir, and it's proven out over the course of the season, you know, that in their wins. They're averaging thirty point five Russia's per game in their losses. It's it's nineteen. It's a really stark difference. And it's not a skewed staff because they're they have these huge leads. You know, this is a a team that's been tooth and nail almost every week. And so clearly running the game works for this offense and works for this team. And the addition of Darren sproles helps that you can see that the offensive line wants to run for this guy. I mean, he has the type of respect that few hold in the NFL and certainly his ability adds to backfield that's been depleted by injury all season, and you could see the spark that gave him and that that win last week over. Washington. And that is really one of the biggest elements of this game if they can continue to establish that Ron if they can get sproles involved, and they can make it a balanced attack that keeps their offense on the field. Then that'll prevent doubts from doing what it likes to do. My last question for you. Here is on the other side of the ball. Mark Cooper has answered the bell for the Cowboys. He's been exciting to watch this collegiate career. But now the NFL it seems as at this point you may have to suit up in the eagles secondary. I mean, how banged up is that secondary this week and work out. How can they can contain Amari Cooper? Got some wheels. So they need me. I'm going in. But but the yeah, the defensive secondaries in really bad shape. Jalen mills one of their starting Cornerbacks. Just got put on I r with a foot injury. And he joins Ronald Darby. The other starting cornerback who went down earlier in the year and riding cloud one of their starting safeties also on injured reserve and that believes Malcolm Jenkins as the lone Representative of the original starting secondary. So they're going to have to rely on guys. Like Russell Douglas and Sidney Jones at cornerback to get the job done at with the Mark Cooper added into the fold it makes the Cowboys attack, obviously more than one dimensional and they're going have to account for him. It's been an issue that secondary for the eagles all year. And it really comes down to the front four and whether they can generate sufficient pressure on deck Prescott to make sure that he doesn't have too much time to operate in that past game. I can't wait for the game. And I can't wait for Tim McManus to be run into pedal back in the secondary today. NFL nation eagles reporter enjoy the game. We'll talk to you soon. Tim. All right guys pick there there. It is Tim McManus brought to you by Pennzoil synthetics taking synthetic motor oil performance to a whole new level. Make the switch to Pennzoil synthetics today. And joining us next on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Is man advertiser is going to be there for NFL nation. She's reporter for ravens cheese headed to KC. Let's start here. Adam it's been a roller coaster ride with a bevy different emotions for the cheese. Patrick Mahomes have been solid the Kareem hunt issues. How is this team day-to-day dealt with this? Yeah, it's it's been a crazy few days for the chiefs for sure, you know, the timing of it last week was crazy. I mean they've gone through their entire practice week. They didn't find out 'til after practice on Friday that this video out of Kareem hunt. So they really didn't have any kind of prepare for it at all last week. Now they've had time to process it a little bit. And I you know, I think it's starting to sink in a little bit. He's not coming back. Chiefs are going to have to survive without him. So it's been an interesting few days for sure. That's one of the issues. I'm kind of curious to see how the chiefs continue to react both on and off the field without him talking to NFL nation chiefs reporter, Adam Teisser, you mentioned that this is a matchup between the number one offense in the number one defense and the statistics show that there's a clear advantage to one side of that equation. Explain on that. Yeah. They're staring five games between the number one scoring offense and the number one scoring defense in with Kenner later in the last I think it's just two thousand six I believe it is the the offense of teams of the five and in every case even in the game you offense the team lost at scored at least twenty seven points. And sometimes a lot more than twenty seven. So it seems like the offense of teams have the advantage of this these matchups and some of these games were played before the the corn NFL scoring explosion. So. I think the ravens I don't think the chiefs are going to have an easy day when they have the ball by any chance ravens will present the chiefs some problems. But I do think the chiefs will have their share of successes with the ball to today how how difficult is it to prepare in almost in. It's not too different quarterbacks. But just preparing for the style of Lamar Jackson what he's seen three and the start starter. But does things different are the chiefs prepared defensively for that match up? Well, they tried to. I it's a problem. You know, they had no what forty to really adequately sort of portray or or mimic. Lamar Jackson in practice. But. You know, I know that she worked on that. And prepared for it. Hey, how successful they'll be today? It's another story. I doubt that she's the worst run defense in the league. And this doesn't help the cause for sure I haven't defended Lamar Jackson. So I'm interested to see what the chiefs have cooked up for him. And and and how they're going to defend him and how they execute. What kind of success they have because you know, I think a good portion of how they today depends on that. The chiefs has not been solid defensively against more conventional quarterbacks. Now, they have an unconventional one that face. And it's just going to be interesting to see how they handle talking NFL nation. Chiefs report Adam taser this week. I want to ask you a little bit of a philosophical question. We're talking about Lamar Jackson athleticism. How you deal with Peter. And I've been kind of debating this whole Cuyler Murray whether or not he should go into the NFL. In today's NFL there's more athletic type quarterbacks than there was fifteen years ago. I tend to argue that the survival rate is so low that it it just can't sustain itself. Do you think that Lamar Jackson if given the reins can he survive or can can any quarterback survive if Tyler Murray chooses to come to the NFL level? I worry about him like inning up dissolved in the middle of the field after Geneva and cloudy, just hits hardy implodes on himself. I think it's going to be difficult. You know, but then again saw five years ago that are spread quarterback. College spread quarterback can be successful in the NFL that was the conventional thinking a few years ago, excuse me. And and, you know, Pat, Mahomes, and maybe some other guys kind of shower bad. And now, you know, then there was the thinking that guy who six or Russell Wilson guy can't make it. And he's certainly sliding and Baker Mayfield looks like he's on his way to. To a very good NFL career. So some of the things we thought about quarterbacks over the years or changing it. Yeah. I am doubts about that as well at a guy like Murray or or or he through March Jackson can make over the long term. But you know, the way we've seen some of these quarterback stereotypes go down over the last few years. Who knows maybe somebody knows a lot of creative offense and minds out there. Maybe somebody can figure something out to help these guys survived an atom you'll see one of the teams that are trying to do that in the Baltimore Ravens today. Whether it be slot receivers, the tight ends even pass catching running backs. The league always tries to find one little iota. When the talent level is so close to each other one small thing that gives them an advantage. And maybe that is more mobile spreads type quarterbacks in the league anti share. We appreciate the time. We'll talk to you soon anytime guys narratives ravens chiefs. Cowboys eagles. Call your shot. All there. Do you think? It's so funny. I you know, how I know the Cowboys are going to win this game. Because each and every week, I think there's a litany of cowboy fans say hopefully, this is the week that Jason Garrett gets fired. And yet he still keeps winning getting the stay of execution. Cowboys fan. You're right in that mode of like you almost feel like you're you've been titans fan or Rams fan back in the day with Jeff Fisher going. Here we go again like we do just enough like an office base. I do just enough work not to get fired. I feel I feel like that's what Jason Gary does. And again, just now the cowboy fans are going to get their hopes up after what they did to the saints. Drew breeze. It feels like they're gonna get dashed against the eagles today. Yeah. The eagles are gonna win that game. Is it our greatest of the week ever? You'll hear from it coming up next doctor's area. And we'll join us. And if you miss this. Hugh freeze in his press conference. Was amazing..

"Injuries and people that aren't available right now. In fact, that they say peaking. But I'm not really impressed with giving us a Washington Redskins. Consider who's a quarterback and who was available. It's also I think worth pointing out you mentioned Darren sproles has given them a spark. But the earlier point if late in Vandereycken shutdown Alvin Kamara I'm really not that threatened by Darren sproles. I'd love Darren sproles saying him play while a lot of fun. But I also think you know, you mentioned Johnson wasn't there. The last game the Cowboys played against the eagles. Jason Peters got hurt at the end of the night football. So we'll see kind of what the injury situation is with him throughout the week. I I'm only threatened in the sense of everything that has nothing to do with the game. If that makes sense because I'm threatened by the fact that they are desperate. I'm threatened by the fact that you know, the last time they were in the stadium. It was the worst loss ever Natan teased in history. I'm threatened by the fact that the Cowboys are playing with more. House money, and sometimes that we've seen them take their foot off the gas at times like that some threatened and scared in all of the non football related ways of them since because in a football sense that the Cowboys should beat the eagles easily at their defense. Shut down Carson Wentz who's playing pretty badly right now. But there's a lot at stake. I mean and typically, you know, we haven't seen the Cowboys. But I guess what I'm saying this game is the the moment that drew Brees got the ball back with a minute fifty five. You know? That's what this game is. All man. This is this is the moment wearing breaks. You know what I mean? And I don't know that join those can intercept in the ballgame. That's that's what we're looking for is that exclamation point moment. That's just the part that that makes me nervous. Well, you know, his thing on the defensive side of the balls. I think a lot of guys are making places Jordan Lewis, whether it's, you know, DeMarcus Lawrence, whether it's dander, whether it's me Collins, whether Chee who. Whoever it is they're making they're making plays. And I think for me that's really shows a great sign of collective really really good defense. And I think the match ups going to first of all when you play that much energy. I defense always think that you you get better as the season you get worse or better as the season goes along. I think they're really playing really. With a lot of cohesiveness. Everything is going is clicking the defend, you know, the the play calling getting to the pass rusher run bullets whatever it is it's working. And I think Carson Wentz. And again, I you know, Zakar to me as a tremendous already got ninety three receptions is broken a single season franchise record for receptions. So that's always a match up to be reckoned with. And and I always think this when you play in a division game. Like this. You're gonna get the best of the eagles and the best the Cowboys because what it represents. You know, this is the game that they dearly need to to be able to tie the Cowboys both at seven and six so this'll be a tremendous matchup for them. For them the the come in this building. But I just think about where they were before the Cowboys were before when the first time I play where they are now. And I look at the defense is better. But I really think that the offense every time I say, it's always think they're on the verge of what breaking up when you saw. There was a couple of times in the saints game where you know, Dako overthrew would be touchdown down the sideline you're thinking. God if you just made that connection at seven points air, you maybe three points there. And then you're looking at probably ten points. I left on the table. So I'm hoping those things come to fruition. Because once they do then you talking about you mentioned early fifty five six in the game. That's the determination of breaking a game open offense of Lee for this team because they're not. They don't score them any points game twenty eight points this for for this team is huge. It's almost like scoring forty two because their defenses balling. They ranked second NASA football league in points allowed in a game. So if you get that many points you talking about a blowout..

"We have the tickets, let's continue now with the waiver wire field Yates, and I feel like you and I have talked about Josh Adams for a number of weeks here. No just goes to show how little power you. And I have because he is still well below the fifty percent roster percentage that allows them to be qualifies him for the com-. Well, I'm going to give you credit your Matthew. I was a bit more skeptical. The Josh out of school in to carve a roll out immediately in this Philadelphia. The backfield because there's so much real estate occupied by cork lament windows. Smallwood heck Darren sproles could soon return. There are a lot of players that have some level ability for Philadelphia and yet last week despite a thrashing from the Saint there was one thing to feel good about and that was Josh Adams performance seven Russia's fifty three yards and a touchdown. But even probably Justice encouragingly as he had three catches for nineteen yards. So we'd like to see that he's a top twenty five play for both of us this week. They play the New York Giants in a must win game for Philadelphia. He should've been drafted last year. He was ridiculous player at Notre Dame. People thought he was going to be a Heisman contender point during last season before Baker Mayfield just took off and ran away with that award but Adams looks apart. And we hope they to say that dedicated to him, and it sure seems like they are based off last week's usage last three games averaging over seven yards per carry those same games Corey Clement Wendell Smallwood averaging two point four five yards per carry. So same offense same line. Josh have been a lot affect have been very effective where Clement and small would. I've not allowing him to wait for it away. Nila this job. Alright. So it's been awhile since I've had a fantasy player on my roster named Gus big Gus fraught fan back in the day, of course. But suddenly, there's a chance to have another Gus. That's right. Gus Edwards who I as I said yesterday like who takes who takes rights to claims rights to Gus words Rutgers or the you started to you. I don't know. Knowing knowing the you knowing to find you pretty much. I'm sure yeah. I think two weeks ago, they would've said Rutgers right now that he's done something all the bandwagon is over here like star fine. Yeah. Sitting here. Like oh. Yeah. Loved him at the U. Anyway Gus bus. He went crazy in week eleven he had forty six snaps yet over one hundred rushing yards him and Lamar Jackson were a two man band seventeen Russia's for hundred and fifteen yards. They combined for forty four rushing attempts. And the ravens have been looking for that spark plug at running back. Alex Collins role has seemingly faded a little bit week to week. And maybe the ravens view Gus Edwards as the most capable player because of his skill set to play alongside Lamar Jackson for some reason or the other maybe the best play in space player the best make you miss player on this roster. And maybe the biggest of follower in this offense this past week was buckling to play just five snap. I don't know that I fully buy into the idea that. Gus Edwards is going to have this role unto himself. But I do believe there's a chance that Gus ally. Gus Edwards is going to be the ravens running back. You wanna roster the rest of the season? Most I rank them just inside my top thirty this week. The there is a little bit of buyer, beware. Because we've seen this before the ravens where like it'd be a big buck Allen game. Well, I guess guess buck Allen's taking this backfield over then the very next week buckling went away. And then it was back to the house Colin show, but forty six snaps for Gus Edwards last week to just seventeen for Collins. And to your point he looked the part his eleven had eleven carries the game five or more yards of his seventeen carries. I mean, the only players with more such carries in a game this season Todd Gurley. Melvin Gordon saquon Barkley Christian McCaffrey, Chris Carson, like a nice list to be on there. So when you heard John Harbaugh talk about him after the game in terms of how he just ran north south and gave his team sparkin..

"You'll throwing the football. But he's rushing the ball fourteen times. That's cool when you can win a game like that every now, and then but eventually you have to be able to win the win the game from the pocket. And I think he's learning and understanding that we want to welcome in those who were listening to the saints crush the eagles and the there's no other burbs. Put it crushed dominate killed. I don't even know what to say. I mean, they basically they won. Okay. They wanted they defeated the eagles. And that's a quarterback. It's interesting you bring up Trubisky Wentz is a guy who is regressing. I think it's the talent around him when you look at the bears and you look at Trubisky. I think he's a guy that is progressing because the talent around him is progressing with him and Burton has been fantastic for him because that's their that's his his outlet. That's his emergency guy. I love I love their relationship. If you look at the eagles with wants, and what some of the things he's gone through. I think he's doing a lot better from his injury. It doesn't look like it's affecting him. But they've been beat up around him. And we talked to the break has gone. That's obviously bought affected their run game. It's put more heat on him. They've been beat up on the offense of line lane. Johnson huge part of that. He's been injured through parts of this season. When the eagles team doesn't score in the first quarter. They put a lot of pressure that on their defense to hold up. Their defense is great at rushing a passer in their awesome. When they're playing with the lead. But teams have been able to run the football little bit on them. And turn that forces the eagles to chase. And they just haven't been able to do that very well this year. I know we're talking Sunday night. Football. And I definitely want to continue that conversation. But something that you said Bobby I have to touch on. I mean at what point? Yes, I do think wins looks very healthy. And he doesn't look like he's been bothered by the injury. But when he has targets down the field like Jeffrey who we saw get very frustrated on the sideline and throw his helmet to the side. And he also has a golden Tate. I mean, do you put the blame on wins for not being able to get the ball to them? And we blame that on the line. I mean what he's looking at. He's looking at the rush. There's no doubt about that. He is his eyes are not up long enough in it's affecting him. And I like the trade when it happened for golden Tate, and I liked that they have L, Sean Jeffrey. But those guys are both be receivers in my opinion. He I think part of the problem there is in. It's not just by the way, a jockey Darren sproles is a huge huge. Yeah. It's a that's a big miss for Philadelphia it because of what he can do for them in their offense. So I think went struggles. But we if you're just tuning in. We were talking about which quarterbacks we trust. And which ones we don't Carson Wentz or Mitchell Trubisky? Because right now today. Mitchell Trubisky is I would probably take him over the confidence. That's lacking. And wentz. I would rather have Mitchell Trubisky right now. Absolutely. In one of the things that we didn't really touch on is the loss of Frank right there. Offensive coordinator. He's now with the colts in the colts have appeared to turn it around. We talked about that. But you look at you know, whenever you subtract guys from the coaching staff, regardless of the primary play caller or not he has a great relationship with the quarterback, and they have a feel for developing the game plan. Sometimes it's it's like a good, Stu. I mean, it's not just one ingredient. It's the compilation of all the ingredients and how it tastes when you mix them all together. And that is an element. I think people are forgetting to sproles you already provides a. Twenty against roles both in San Diego in New Orleans. And then briefly in Philadelphia is a linebacker junior. Mashed up on the guy gets its take a bottle of Packer before the game inside levels are incredibly high. Nobody I've never seen a human being. That is as quick as maybe tyreek hill, probably the other guy. This dude is thicker he's in the backfield. And. All the stuff that I've watched him do and you watch them on film. You just don't be this guy. The guy that cuts on you. And you fall down there. Replayed at fourteen times for all your friends to see. But I'm telling you Frank Reich is a bigger loss than Darren sproles any of those players because his development of Carson Wentz is what they miss because sometimes you just need to cuddle as a quarterback, you just need a coach to put your arm around you and say, hey, it's gonna be alright. And when you're going through tape, you can't you can't trust everybody who's giving you feedback Bobby. Everybody's telling you what you should do. And it's there's only a few people you listen to and Carson Wentz has not been shy about saying Frank Reich was was his muse that was a guy that he listened to that impacted him. And I think that's massive. And by the way, not to keep going back to the bears, but Nagy and Trubisky have that relationship, and you can see that. Now when the buyin between quarterback and coaches there the the the upside is limitless. Listening to football frenzy on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. We're talking about the Sunday night big game tonight the NFC north showdown between the Chicago Bears in the Minnesota Vikings, Tim something you touched on. I mean, you talked about the relationship between coach and quarterback on the flipside in when it comes to the Minnesota Vikings coach quarterback have that relationship when it comes to Zimmer Kirk cousins, I, you know, I don't know. I think Kirk cousins is he's an interesting personality, Kurtz, not your normal like that. I. I don't know that. I do I think well, they better with the money. He's making they better. I think Kurt's a great quarterback. I I like him. I think the relationship that he has with feeling already is really important. But my question about the quarterback situation. There is Delvin cook is more important to this game. Then Kirk cousins is because if they can't run the ball effectively and Galvin looks to be completely healthy from the hamstring at that seventy yard run down the left edge. Yeah. Exactly. So I think Dobbin cook is more important. But Kirk cousins is an interesting, dude. He's not the most normal guy, by the way. Mike Zimmer is not a guru of quarterbacks. He's a guru of defenses. So there there again is conversation of you paid the quarterback. What what was it eighty four million or whatever it was do you want a defensive coach or do you want an offensive coach? Because if I'm paying my guy eighty four million dollars. I'd rather have Frank Reich than any defensive minded coach. One of the things with it. That's going to be key from Minnesota to win today's protecting Kirk cousins. They they haven't done a good job of protecting him. I think he's been sacked like thirty one times here. So how do the Minnesota Vikings pull it together? Other than just the offensive line. Actually, protect your Turkey. Got a chip Khalil Mack. Defense. And you've got what they do. Really? Well, Bobby is I think the Vikings a good job of pushing those defensive ends out wide and the cousin doesn't need twenty seconds. He just needs to three seconds. So they push those guys widen that's a win for him. A couple of things the defensive lines are going to be huge today for both sides. I think that's gonna win this game. But what you touched on there. What is Kirk cousins? Do you move the pocket a little bit? They get the running game goal with dalvin coke slow that pass was down. Didn't let him sit back there to seven step drop. He gets the ball out quickies a quick processor get the screen game going because you cannot let Khalil Mack massively impact this game. I mean, there's so much to talk about when it comes to the game. And we're gonna continue this conversation. Go out to Chicago and chat with Jeff Dickerson to get a preview of Sunday night football football frenzy on ESPN radio and the ESPN app.

"Info solutions podcasts off the charge. They recently had on football, outsiders writer might tan your, and he said that he quoted it to like their play action in their reaction to screens is like when you fake throwing a ball to a dog, and you put it behind your back, and that's kind of how the Dallas Cowboys are reacting to and because of that they're getting just gashed by screens. So that's something. I think you could see early on the eagles test at and try to get the running backs involved in that screen game would have been nice Darren sproles was active in its. Left when recorded and we were like Darren sproles is back. This is great the news drop as I was applauding the episode that Darren sproles was not going to be in there. I was like MAs would just drop it now since his late anyway, but Darren sproles would have been big in that respect. I still do expect them to test. The Cowboys that way I my my read on their screen game, which I agree with you with the linebackers absolutely linebackers always in a tough spot against the screen game. I'll think they're safeties are good. I don't think older not. I didn't think I Jeff heave was a little bit on lettuce in confused in like twenty sixteen and I'm here to tell you nothing has changed in the past three years. He very often plays a a Cam chancellor role as the Dow's Cowboys love to just run man coverage and have Jeff heath, rob either from the boss if they need the numbers or the line in too high and then just bring him down. I mean, I don't know who they think they're fully they align into high all the time and rarely play cover to man just doesn't happen. So they'll bring he's down. The locks thing about he is. I don't think he keys very quickly. I don't think you recognize it very fast and the closer you are to the line of scrimmage, the faster. You really have to recognize what's happening. And I think he's lost in the sauce on a ton of plays in there. Who is it wasn't Jacksonville? What both from watching on Washington was right before that, Tennessee, Tennessee. And I thought Tennessee that a fantastic job of putting heath intrigue situations where they're running little bubbles screens where they're running little smoke ideas and basically making heath play sideline to sideline and he did a great job against the Cowboys in general at misdirection, which really gave this defense fits, you know, who coordinates offense might man. Okay. Yeah. So no, I agree with you the screen game. And then when it comes to Ali example salad over that that tight end matchup will let us begin. As if Jeff heats the I gets tight on. I think it's an advantage. And then I know that Dallas fans are excited in van ash, their rookie first round linebacker nineteenth role pick at a Boise and he's playing. Well, he absolutely is news continued to develop from his time with the Broncos for sure his own awareness is of what you expected a rookie. You know, he's a guy that you can use you. If a smart quarterback Carson Wentz Clara qualifies here. Just hold him. If there is he's not really gonna have great feel of what's happening behind him..

"Oh, by the way, I've been saying that for weeks here in been summarily mocked for it. Shefty. Meanwhile update us in some other news around the league yesterday. That was very interesting starting with Darren sproles Darren sproles, basically is back at crackers. And he's going to provide the eagles here with some wife some energy some variables in that backfield. And on special teams he has not played since week one been nursing a hamstring injury. But for the second half of the season the eagles are going to get old jolt on offense and on special teams Darren sproles can help flip a field about as well. As anybody in the league and the Minnesota Vikings got some unexpected added help from Dan or loss. He's Detroit Lions yesterday. They claimed Amir Abdul on waivers the former second round draft pick. Now, again, dalvin cook has been nursing that hamstring injury for much of this year. They have latavius Murray whose contract is up after this year, but Amira doing now goes to the Vikings on waivers. We'll see what he can bring to the Vikings. And the Atlanta Falcons that wealth contender that you like green. I do edit. Bruce Irving yesterday a pass rusher. Keep in mind, Bruce Irvin is from the Atlanta area. He played for Dan Quinn in Seattle. Dan, Quinn knows how to deploy him. And so the falcons get some added Astros help. And it's Bruce Irvin said this is a dream. Come true. Listen, I mean, I got made fun of by Riddick and Vilma last. I can't wait till again here tomorrow, I'm going to stick this right in their face. So they had help on defense. Now. Let's talk about offense and a fella who wears the number eleven. They've finally got this dude into the end zone. And they did it in a really good way. So it's late in the game. It's third and to us. We can see and they deploy some personnel. So they get into what we know. Thirteen personnel. Greenie so one back, but then they get into one two and three tight end when you do that you're telling defense, listen, I want to run the football. So a defensive coordinator is going to go. Okay. Here comes my big bodies. So as we see the Redskins. We got big body big body. Big body. Not these great athletes not perimeter skill guys. Right. And so that's a big part of the second thing is, and I'm gonna highlight the creature. Okay. We're just gonna watch Julio verse. Josh Norman here and watch what he does at the line of scrimmage. The truly went on this play just the pressure that he gets. I mean, Josh Norman's back now. As we looked his back. He has no idea where the ball is gonna come from. And I'll rewind it because what they do on offense is they get into this bunch that right here with those three tight ends. And so they're going to sell this hard run fake. And I want to put our eyes on the really good offensive lineman for the falcons because they're going to step down and then release out towards Josh Norman. So everybody on the defense is flow. Right. Flow. Flow flow flow. Ryan does a great job of selling through this fake. He's going to take the toss fake and continue to go through. Because what it's really going to do is put Kerrigan in a bind. Kerrigan now has to go after Matt right? He can't play the screen. Good job by Matt Ryan look at what the falcons have done offensively. You've left one guy. One guy on that side of the field. Stop Julio Jones. Jake Matthews is going to run through the soul of Josh Norman contact. Long contact, and then we get the absolute creature downfield, and ha ha Clinton Dix. Listen, they're getting some pieces you like them. They finally got this guy in the end zone. That was a really a game differing touchdown. Great design and execution by the fouls. Really what you do that on the ipad? Again, this is actually it's new it's called an ipad. Is there anything you can't do know? What do they call us nowadays the day kids, remarkable millennials, ordinarily, listen. Novels on an ipad. So don't don't kids taught me. They'll look at me that way. Okay. Where am I going here?.

"Let's get to the game. But I the only put is going to say on Lamar Miller is sort of wrapping a bow on that is that with the injury to will fuller. You could see them running a little bit more trying to become a little bit more of a balanced often to certainly this is encouraging sign from Lamar Miller who is sort of locked in now as an Rb to. All right. Carson Wentz in the Philadelphia Eagles go to London beat the Jaguars Kerry hour to eighteen Chetty. Oh, indeed. But the to me the story really was this Philadelphia backfield Wendo Smallwood actually finished with. Indecent fantasy day fourteen point six points because he has a semi long screen pass twenty eight yards. I believe it was goes for touchdown. But the eagles gonna buy this week Darren sproles did not travel London. But he's getting close to returning. My big takeaway from this game is that the eagles backfield is about to become much. If the words radioactive from finished standpoint, but a non starter, right? Smallwood is playing the most snaps and he is the number one right now here, but Darren sproles could soon return Josh Adams had nine carries for sixty one yards. Climent looks like he's later for this backfield right now, but Corrie was a Super Bowl hero last year. Like, I don't want to turn his head. Mrs. He's he's had flashes of brilliance this year as well. So yeah, I agree with you. I mean alternately at the end of the day. Like, I got a bunch of questions on Sunday. I'm sure you guys did as well. Like, oh as Josh Adams, a must add is he's sort of like, no like the best case the best case scenario for Josh Adams is he's the lead back of a committee on a pass first offense. Like, this is going to be under Doug Peters. And this is always going to be a pass first offense. Former quarterback Doug Peterson with Carson Wentz under center. It's going to be passed. I and so that's the best case scenario for Josh Adams same with Wendell small what according Clementi it was small Smallwood bails you out with a touchdown. But honestly, I agree with you. You may be forced to start one of these guys because of by week an injury issues. But no, I'm not rushing out to pick up Josh Adams in a redraft league. I could he carve out like the goal line role that lead back role Jay Ajayi as roll like again, that's the best case scenario, which is like a high end flex low end Rb to that your hope falls into the end zone because small what's not going away. Clement's not going away into your point. When Darren sproles gets back. He's gonna touch the ball as well. This is a true committee, which is what Doug Peterson likes. Carson Wentz is getting hot right now they go on a by me to fill in for him this week. But the Jaguars. I'm not sure who you need to fill in for right now because there are a mess on offense. The final numbers were fine for Blake Bortles nineteen point seven fantasy points. But it's the running back situation there were all fixated on. And we're all wondering like. Who might step up to Yeldham get seven catches for eighty three yards after two rushes for seven yards. And so much of that came on that last dry things at the end of the game when they're trailing big. Yeah. So the answer is to who's going to step up for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the backfield is very simple, Leonard fournette, Leonard four. Letter for net, and I did back after their by or close to it. And we'll see right. So Adam Schefter reported that on Sunday morning that the expectation is he'll be back after their by their there on a buy this week in so Carlos Hyde. I look I'm not saying you absolutely have to drop Carlo side. But as the bowl, certainly droppable it's going to say, I wonder if the Jaguars wish they could have that trade back themselves Trump pig, but still he well, listen I look carries eleven yards. Carlos it certainly I game with the team..

"Obviously it's his first game, but I thought all in all, when you consider hasn't played for like nine months, he really did a good job. Now they got to score more points than that. They've got, they've got to generate some more offense, but but obviously know Darren sproles that's no j. dry. So the running game and Corey Clement and Smallwood did a nice job, but still it's just he really, he was impressive. I thought he was impressive. Is first game back in a long time. What were there any handcuffs on him? I early early in the game. I've seen him get outside the pocket in and kind of open it up a little bit. I was a little. Prized about that and he didn't automatically sly. Were there? Were there any handcuffs on him saying, hey, Carson, if you're outside the pocket, make sure you get down early. It didn't seem like that, but is eating kind of guy who's going to allow handcuffs on him or he's just gonna continue to play the way he's always played interesting before the game. I was talking to Peterson it was raining steadily into late into the third quarter here. So before the game I saw dog I said, Doug, you're gonna kinda back off a little bit on the things you want to do with Carson. He's just absolutely not. He said, we're going to do everything. We're, you know, we're guns blazing. We're gonna do everything he's done before, and I think as a as a former quarterback and he wasn't obviously as as agile as course in in the kind of guy that extended plays when Doug Peterson was a quarterback, but I guess he knows I forget you're a superman. She never had an injury, but I forget what it's like. When you woman players come back, I forget what they've said. Said, but no, not a little bit. You didn't even think about it is my gosh. This guy's running ran for plays. He ran into the silence. He leaped for first down to extend drive, and it was. It was in the second half extended drive where he took off left and he, he dove for the first down. I'm telling you nothing, not any indication. If you didn't know he was injured, you say, you would know he was injured just by watching what he does. And again, no handcuffs whatsoever. And and the head coach, Doug Peterson, never put anything on and didn't tell them. Yeah, take it easy. They wanted to play smart, but they told him that last year, you know, don't take a hit. You shouldn't hit. Shouldn't take by, but these ACL injuries. Here's the thing that and maybe this is one of the things he thinks about. They're not even contact injuries. I know the play, which Garoppolo. I don't know if it's an ACL or at NC l. and. Yes, we won't know until that until tomorrow, but they feel injuries aren't even contact injuries when he tore his ACL. It wasn't because it contact he made a move. So no, no handcuffs. He played like Carson Wentz as always played Jedi with our friend Howard Eskin from the eagles radio network. Howard, a lot of conversation in the wake of any championship in the NFL about a potential Super Bowl, emotional hangover. Do you sense any of that with this club? I don't. I don't. And the thing that's hard to tell, here's what I think happens when a team plays a long season play more games than almost every other team, except one you maybe. I don't know. I guess the patriots didn't have. They probably had a by weekly. You're the the point. Is you Susan so long? You're all season. So sure. I think injuries are in cause your body just gets beat up in for all those games and then you're coming back with less time off, but I didn't. I have not since the hangover. I sent a lot of energy, certainly from the fans day and from his teammates. I certain lot of energy in the first game against it land. Now, the Tampere game was a joke that second game when they get when Ryan Fitzpatrick lights him up as ridiculous, but just it's magic..

The NFL's MVP despite not playing the final four. Games, tore up ACL. Carson Wentz has yet to be cleared for contact. Now keep in mind that doesn't mean he hasn't been cleared. For practice he's been going through eleven on eleven work for a while, he obviously didn't plan Philadelphia's preseason game last week. Against the Cleveland Browns but he has, been doing a lot of work, and by all accounts has looked really. Really good so far in, practice but he has yet to be cleared and as you might imagine this is the biggest question that Eagles head coach Doug Peterson has been. Getting since well before. Training camp began is Carson Wentz going to be. Cleared anytime soon what's going to be his status for the. Opener against the Atlanta Falcons a week from Thursday night I would imagine, if you're Doug Peterson you are sick to death. About hearing questions about Carson Wentz and, it felt like yesterday the head, coach of the eagles finally reached his. Breaking point getting more questions, about the status of starting quarterback At it That process Can answer this question When they clear him, when they clear. Him he'll be cleared But I'm not. Gonna I'm not. Gonna I'm not gonna put myself in a. Box we're not gonna put my quarterback in a. Box I'm not gonna do. That I'm not going to go on a limb and I'm not going to say. At eagles training camp in Philadelphia, Philadelphia opening up, the pre, the regular season a week from Thursday against the. Atlanta Falcons remains to be seen of Carson Wentz is going to be behind. Center for the eagles and again not. Cleared for contact he? Has done a lot of work in practice he's been. On the field for eleven on eleven's he has not played in games Nick foles has you know sometimes you can, say, the. Same thing you could you could rattle off, the same, sentence and. It can mean two different things I'm going to do that right now Okay Nick foles was the eagles backup quarterback for a reason that has two different. Meanings the first of which is if you've watched him, play you see why this dude has not really stuck as a starting quarterback in the NFL because for his, greatest he was last year in the Super Bowl for as good as he was last year in the. Playoffs he's been just as miserable here in the. Preseason, now, obviously there's far, far, far, far less significance attached to the way he plays in the, preseason but he hasn't been very. Good he wasn't good in that game against the. Browns last. Thursday he threw a couple of picks the game before then against New. England he went just three for nine for forty four. Yards he lost a fumble that was taken to the. House you see why this guy's a backup quarterback because on a weekend and week out, basis as great as he was the Super, Bowl you really don't know what you're going to get with Nick. Foles and, that's that's really kind of been his MO throughout the course of his NFL. Career but I could say the same exact sentence and have it means something. Else this is why Nick. Foles Is the, eagles backup quarterback because you didn't know of Carson Wentz was going. To be a full go for week one now I'm going to guess that the odds, are better than average that Carson Wentz gets the start against the Atlanta Falcons. A week from Thursday night But right after the. Super. Bowl, and really leading, up to, the Super Bowl Carson Wentz? Is going nowhere right had this awesome season last year led the? League and touchdown passes I think would have been the MVP. If he plays close to sixteen games but there was a lot of question okay well, the eagles trade Nick foles what could, they get forum how much of. A market is there going. To be for him it was a crazy off season for quarterbacks in the NFL how much would it have changed for an foles if. Kirk cousins wasn't a free agent if there wasn't the movement with guys, like case keenum and all along I'm going wait a minute you don't trade. Nick foles, because you don't know any amount of certainty that Carson Wentz is going to. Be the starting quarterback week one, you don't move on from your backup who was just the Super Bowl MVP who just helped you wanna title you don't move on from that guy and yes it's probably somewhat limiting for. Nick foles and I get it at, some point if you. Continues, to be equality backup is going to be enough teams that remember that Super Bowl performance that at some point someone gives him an opportunity to To start and maybe that happened sooner rather than later but there's a reason, why the Philadelphia Eagles never really seemed, to seriously entertain the idea of. Trading him because they didn't. Know of Carson Wentz was going to be able to go week wanted sought made absolutely no sense at least in my opinion to move. On from a guy that gave you a great amount of insurance when, the season actually began first and last on ESPN radio and ESPN app Allegra. Filling in, for Mike Golic junior this morning one of the things about Carson Wentz that. Has been talked about a lot, here during during the last month has been Carson Wentz is mental improvements during the offseason his, head coach talked about that yesterday Yeah I mean you know part of our run pass, options you know not necessarily RPO's but runs to pass pass to runs and asked to pass checks that we do you know. He's real comfortable with it he's very. Smart and they call our quarterback sir Kind of, well, educated in that area he's done a really good job with that part of his you know continued growth is to just keep getting. Better with each and every each and every year you know still very much so on top of. The game you know mentally he and I continued to dialogue and talk about situational football and continue. To grow their to answer Doug Peterson talking about Carson way and I think because of how good Nick foles was in the, postseason and specifically, the Super Bowl I think there's a lot of people who kind of forgot how good Carson, Wentz was last season and I mentioned. He led the league in touchdown passes. Actually Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. Overtook him for the final tally but still Wednesday despite not playing the last four games finished. One. Off the, lead thirty-three, TV's seven picks again I think. Would have, been the MVP, he's still would've got, my MVP vote that's no knock on on Tom Brady it. Is going to be interesting to see. How long leashes and look if he's able, to You know just fire off full bullets and and and get to get through everything physically that he needs to. Get through that's one thing but if there's. A little rust, if there's, a little bit of physical limitation of Carson Wentz it's going to be interesting to me to see, how long the. Leashes because Doug Peterson does have, at his, disposal, a backup quarterback who's needless to say started a lot in this league has a ton of experience has the perfect attitude for a. Backup quarterback Nick foles for his part has handled all of this really really well going back last. January and February when he was asked a lot about being a backup quarterback and when out of. His way to say yes as much as I want to be a starter this is Carson Wentz his team and I want, to help him, and he's wants to help me and all that but it's going to be interesting to see, if there is any kind of physical. Limitation of Carson Wentz comes back and. He struggles at the outset how willing. Is Doug Peterson gonna be to pull the trigger and put Nick foles back in an embrace Race all the ensuing questions that are gonna. Come that so far he has handled quite well this weekend got a little testy with and quite frankly I can't say that I blame him eagles falcons a week from Thursday. The beginning of the NFL season cannot get, here soon enough to eagles for what. It's worth have really played poorly in the post in the preseason a lot of people inexplicably watch that five nothing game. Against the Browns on Thursday they've also lost pretty handily to the patriots and. The Pittsburgh Steelers first and last on ESPN radio and the. ESPN, app there's another NFL team that's handling the preseason in a way that I would we'll get to the issue. Of Rams rest versus Rams rust well some players have a slow start to, the season and how I. Believe the preseason extends into the regular. Season we'll get to all that next mo- for my golden junior first last ESPN radio and the ESPN app so. It all comes down to this how would.

"Of Doug Peterson and team, owner Jeffrey Lurie I remember very distinctly texting Doug Peterson, after Donald Trump's comments and saying the Doug what are you gonna do. You gonna have a meeting he texted me back and he said I'm not doing anything Because the players had already, taken care of it to Malcolm Jenkins Chris as leadership they got together and they. Decided the players were going to stand arm-in-arm first, responders members of the Philadelphia police department and fire department local members of. The, military, holding up the. Flag and Michael Jenkins would, hold up. His fists and Jeffrey Lurie, stood right next door there's a picture of that in, my book actually and? There's a description of what happened. In that meeting in my book I, it's it's really fascinating That this team pulled all the lovers the right levers last year both behind the scenes enduring every kind of controversy in the loss of some of the most significant players that you can lose a quarterback left tackle a, middle linebacker special, teams guru like Darren sproles so I expect them to again be leaders on this issue and do the right thing Stephen Jones reiterated, Friday that players must stand for the anthem if, they want to be a Dallas cowboy he told the ticket ninety six seven FM. That players would face punishment if they chose to. Stay in the locker room for the anthem Cowboy's quarterback Dak Prescott on. Protesting, during, the anthem protest That's the time. Of the venue to, do so of the game for was. Always brought me such a piece and I, think it does the same for, a lot of people playing the game. A lot of people watching the game a lot of people have any impact of the game so he brings such controversy To the to the stadium to the to the game takes away it takes away from that takes away from the joy to the. The love that brings a lot of, people and so for me I'm to change making a. Difference I think this whole No that in all that was all about. Is raising awareness and the fact. That we're still talking, about social injustice years later I. Think we've got that Food than we know that the social Justice I'm taking the next step that whatever. This that may be for Always standing up for what I believe in So you can respect by some players might stroke The proper proper place I respect, with all, those guys they believe and it's gonna make, a change the difference. Then power to, them but for me I think is about doing something actions not about taking the is not necessarily about standing We can find a different place To make our country better Not even a very aware of the social injustices that we have About the accident that we could do to fix it rather than the sound of protests nut stay with America's team Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee fired back at free agent wide out Dez Bryant after his former teammate called him a snake on Twitter, while suggesting Lee played a. "I'm not going to rush this rush out there i i don't want to expose him you know i mean he'll be ready when he's ready and when we feel he's ready so right now we're encouraged you know the progress he's making love isn't through all the guys jason peters confident darren sproles they're all coughing and i love that but again in each individual case you know i'm not gonna i'm not gonna further risk you know any any other injury makes a fair point you want to wait till he's better because he saw what he can do when he's fully healthy cc what can the eagles offense do with carson wentz that they couldn't do with nick foles win the super bowl told about any part of the field i mean nick foles is a back up quarterback but what's the difference chris between the backups and nfl into stars it's consistency it's overall arm talent talent mean and what is the variations of where they can throw the ball in the different type it's like a baseball pitcher chris does he have a fastball does he have a change of does he have a slider does he have a little something else ball like backup quarterbacks they don't have that now nick foles he's one of the more talented backups but carson wentz is a stood we expect him to be a franchise quarterback philadelphia for over ten years overall athleticism he's a better athlete he's a better thrower of the football he can told the ball in the middle of the field because he's got a gun he also has the touch to bill to put the ball in zones over.
