"Laughing about it already, Mike. We're going. The awesome way to hangover. Raiders fans were found on mattresses on rooftops everywhere. The island went doubles down on them. Everybody went to Mike Tyson's house and saw his zoo. The autumn wind split 7. Damn straight. Wow, I mean, not against a three. You're the worst object. Do not sit at my third base, sir. All right, let's take a break here. Take your phone calls. And we come back 8 four four two O four rich, number to dial. Back here on our terrestrial radio outfit with a one big happy family. All right, let's take some phone calls. Craig and Toronto. This phone call potentially intrigues me. What's up, Craig? How are you, sir? Well, dear diary, today I've made my first guest appearance on the rich eisen show and I hope you are a professional ears picked up a few things there, rich. First of all, guest appearance, as I make Blue Jays and fantasy baseball content. So yes, in my mind, I'm going to go ahead and treat this as a guest appearance. Sure. Well done. And first, thank you. And first, Richard, you're going to love this. First guest appearance. There's my George Costanza. I've already taken my hat off and stuffed it behind the pillow cushion on the rich eyes and show I've already set up my leave behind. Thank you very good. I like it. I like Craig already. What's on your mind, correct? What's on your mind? Well, rich, first of all, I mean, in all seriousness, just a tip of a hat for everything you do with the run rich run. So I just want to commend you on that. Thank you. And respected up here in Canada. Rich, I always wanted to know from a big time Yankee fan like yourself. I did it all a big deal. Well, really, what do you remember? How did it resonate in the Yankee fan base back in the day when Dave Winfield killed that seagull up here in Toronto? What do you remember about that? And exhibition stadium. And the old exhibition stadium. Yeah, with Ernie Whit behind home plate. I'm sure. Dave Steve, and all those old Toronto Blue Jays back in the day. I was thinking you were calling a crow in about the comeback, the Blue Jays threw on the Yankees yesterday to avoid being swept. I thought that's what you were calling in about, Craig. That's what it is. Well, you guys, were you guys were this close to being downright rude guests this past weekend? That's for darn sure. Yes. I know the Blue Jays are almost the bird that we splattered this time around. That almost was it. Oh my goodness. And a real tough weekend for the whole while the Yankees haven't played anybody crowd. The Yankees are like, what, 21 and 7 against winning teams? That's by a mile, the best in baseball. They're like, what is that? 7 and three now or 7 and four, 8 and four maybe even against a J's this season. Yeah, they're eating four. Yankee team is for ritten 8 and four. There you go. And rich, I would really love to know from you. Is there honestly if there is a team in the AL east where you're saying, you know what, Craig, I'll just be honest with you. A team that could catch us a team that I still have my eyes on is X, does that seem even exist? And if so, rich, I'd love to know who it is. Well, the team that concerns me is the one that the Yankees are playing later on this week, the Houston Astros, the only other 40 win team in the American League. With Verlander pitching the way that he's pitching and they can hit out of their shoes. And I just love the thanks to the call Craig. I appreciate it. Did you see the responses to buster only who's one of our favorites? He tweeted out last night that on the Sunday Night game that Jose Altuve was going to wear the wire for them last night. On the mentions got trash and trash, really? Yeah. 'cause it's the truth that you know Sunday Night baseball puts microphones on players and it's outstanding in sight, but buster, buster had to know when he gets sent on that to avoid his mentions. About all there's lots of chime in. Lots of chime in about what Jose Altuve had under his Jersey. Any new tattoos. It was not pretty. But I was there with my popcorn. Yankees went up Yankees went up 8 three yesterday. And I thought that was it, but the bullpen blew it. And the Jays reminded everybody that they have a considerable offense. Considerable offense. But there's one 60 of 18 I wouldn't be worried. They're 1616 and two in June. 16 to two in June, and they sent Garrett call out there to stop it. They could have win their 50th game yesterday, but instead they moved within 11. Never going to lose. Nick pavetta was pitching much better in the last 6 weeks than he did in the first month, but you could say that about the entire Red Sox team. That has been awesome. He's been trained. He has been and the rays have slipped up a bit, and Red Sox are on the verge of moving into third place. Trying to get themselves in that wild card spot. Wouldn't that be ironic if Tito is the one to keep the Red Sox out of that third wild card spot because the Indians blame very well. Guardians, guardians partners. I'm gonna have to do that. Oh, the White Sox are now in that in the race too. Look at that, the angels are in a mix the White Sox. Right behind a Red Sox, but it's the cheese guardians and a wild card. They are really fun race. It's gonna be a really fun race. And that's the.

"Every day you don't go in that direction? Does that empower as well? Darren? Yeah. Yeah, I feel like success is a lot different for me these days. It's waking up and not having an attitude of self centeredness because that's what addiction created to me. It's like how do I get mine? I like you high whenever I want and whatever the consequences are commitments or accountability I have just got thrown out the window. So today is like if I wake up with an attitude of selflessness and I try to give to wherever whether I'm in the building with the team or if I'm in the community or in relationships that I have like if I'm trying to give rather than just get something out of it that's success for me if my attitudes where it needs to be what I whatever I'm preparing for and the effort that I put into whatever I do if those things are there, that success for me and I feel like I will handle the results of things as long as I make things bigger than just me. Darren Waller right here on the rich eisen show again come back stories, a podcast that he is conducting along with international yoga instructor and mindfulness teacher, what's his name again? Donnie stark is very much so Donny stark and his comeback stories newest season July 11th we're all podcasts are available here on the rich eisen show. Let's talk a little bit of football Darren Waller. What does devonte Adams look like up close and personal working out to you? Devonte Adams is probably the smoothest mover on a football field I've ever seen in my life. I don't even know how to describe it. You know, it's not like over the top like freakiness what he does have to explosion and quickness, but it's just like, I don't know, man. It's like nobody can really dictate the pace at which he moves. He moves out he moves and everybody else just has to deal with the program. But yeah, just watching him release and move to his route. So fluidly, I've never seen anything like. Well, I mean, it's so rare for somebody of his talent to be moved or want to move. And his relationship with Derek Carr, though, is something that makes his movement too Vegas and this team unique and normally somebody of his talent coming in. There still would be a period of trying to get on the same page of the quarterback. I'm wondering if you've already witnessed the 6th sense, these two kids, if you will, have those crazy Fresno kids have on this field right now for you and your team. You seen it? Yeah, I mean, I've seen a large number of touchdown connections between the two over the matter of the last month and a half. But yeah, you can just tell like they and it's something even like particularly precise like how quick they adjust and fix it and then now it's just money like so you can tell that that connection has been there for years is already taking place and it's already paying off for them as far as how they adjust and just how they just about there and dominate like you expect like, okay, like this is going to be a money connection and it's been that way for the job it's very entertaining to watch. Now I know there's no ion Waller, but have you gone up to Derek and say don't forget your buddy at the tight end position for the last several years we have a 6th sense too. Have you had a conversation similar to that to Derek carnell? I haven't even had to do it because he's putting it up there to everybody, man. And then it's like you see the defense will kind of shift through their focusing on day to day. And it's like, all right, well, folks on me put it up today. They focus on both knee or hunters over the middle, just wiggling around, making people look stupid. So it's been very fun so far and I'm excited to see how it continues to take place over time. And how does Josh McDaniels offense move you around like the chess pieces you can be? What do you think? What are you seeing? Yeah, I mean, it's really everywhere. I got to be on the piece and queues as far as the book is concerned because it's inside outside. Single buy or so in a trips information service like pretty much everywhere. I'm excited about the challenge that it presents because it makes it harder for people to really know where you're going to be at. So he's diversifying your game in a way that has not been in your tenure there in Vegas. Is that what you're saying? Yeah, they're bringing new things to the table for sure. I've done a lot of things under coach Gruden. I feel like that's been very helpful. And they're asking us to do even more things. So it's just add more to the bag and gives us more opportunities to get open when you know they're going to be looking for you. So let's talk a little bit of the defense max Crosby now having Chandler Jones on the other side. How does that look to you so far? Darren? I mean, they're flying around. Even more impressive once past you put on pretty soon because they don't allow them to really just wreck practice like they really can, but yeah, I mean it looks impressive so far just from them right through their drills and working against the whole line is starting to drill. So I'm excited to see them rehab you. Okay, so what's the general sense that you guys have on the conversation of how deep of a pool the AFC west now is and that Russ Wilson is now in Denver and it's another year for Herbert to get better and mahomes is still in the homes and thus you guys are going to have your hands full with no true shot to win it all. That's a general sense out there. I wonder how you respond to that. Darren Waller. That's common knowledge. I mean, I've been watching football for a long time. You just look at talent in one particular division. I don't think I've seen one. So, you know, we are week to week basis, multiple times in a season that is just going to be gladiator type wars. And I don't know. I mean, just as my opinion, you know, and I feel like that's what's most fun about football. We line up against that are the most talented and that have the opportunity to win a championship like they have those quality rosters like, I don't know, I thought that brings the best out of me. I feel like it will bring the best out of the team. Well, do you know of any let's just say nationally televised sports talk hosts and just general hosts who have already put their marker on the Raiders to win the division? Do you know of any of them? Darren Waller? Do you know many of them? I heard a guy, I mean, I think his voice kind of sounds similar to you. Yeah. Darren, I am caping. I've got a silver and black cape on, and I've been Chris tell them I've been in since one. Since when have I been in March, while the day that Friday when Devante Adams got traded? Yeah. That's me. So I'm in. You had me at hello. I'm big, I'm big on the Raiders this year. Who said you rich? I'm not just doing that just to get a watch, sure I am. I am doing that to try and get your approval. But just to let you know, I just don't throw this around. I don't spout to use a phrase that you used earlier. I chose the Golden State Warriors to win the championship from day one and look what happened. There's a parade going on as we speak right now, Darren. Let's see if you can go through for two. Okay, I'll do that. What would that mean? Not to say that it means to make me look good. But what would it mean for you to get the championship to win it in Las Vegas based on everything that you said earlier on in your career path? What would that mean for you?.

"I think my favorite part about that is whoever does the voice-over work. Do you know who does the voice-over work for that documentary? He's got an amazing radio voice. I thought he did a phenomenal job. Right here in the rich eisen show. Robert saw. I'm sorry, I'm fishing. I'm weak talent. I'm just fin skin talent, coach. But it is a fun watch and the interesting part about that, Robert sala here on the rich eyes show. I did not know that Jermaine Johnson told Joe Douglas to trade up for him. But you were four in ten at the time where he said that. Where did he think you should be trading up for him? Coach? You know, I think all those guys are always going to just trade up. I have no idea. I have no idea. But it worked out. It worked out perfect and it was supposed to happen the way it was supposed to happen. So what was that moment like for you, where you already had a remarkable talent at the corner position that you know what you can do with that with your side of the football in terms of expertise previously being defense? And then Garrett Wilson, who will get to in a second for the other Wilson, if you will. But the fact that you're sitting there and you can get your main Johnson at the end of the first round and all it costs you is a second that you already had another second in your back pocket very high for Friday night. I mean, that had to be something for you, coach. It was great because once we took Garrett, I looked over at Joe and I think there was a couple of picks later. I said, hey, how far does Jermaine Johnson got to go for us? It was just kind of a discussion between Joe and I and Joe Joe gave a number and I said, all right, didn't think you'd even get there. I think you said if he gets the 15, we could start picking up the phone and shoot from 15 to 26. I forget what picket was Joe was relentless calling calling calling as it was documented. And Joe made it happen. I mean, Joe on draft day is pretty fun to watch. He's calm, he's collected, but he is relentless in pursuit to try to make sure he's getting all the information he needs to make the best selection possible. And you have to get lucky sometimes and at least from our view with where we had Jermaine ranked in our top ten. We felt like we were pretty lucky, so. Robert sala, New York Jets head coach here on the rich eisen show. We all know it's a quarterback driven league. You know that better than anybody. So tell me about your guy, your two, how different does he look right now? Zach Wilson. You know, he looks a lot more, he looks a lot more comfortable. He's. A year ago at this time, if you made a mistake, he would give us long dissertation about how he saw a certain player doing something. And you know, in our system, it's progression based. It's one, two, one, two, three, let it go. And. This year, you could just before rob or Michael fleur could even talk to him. He's like, I know. And he would point to where he should have went, or he points to what he could have done. And the dissertation, there's a saying in football, see a little see a lot to see a lot to see nothing. And we're getting from seeing a lot to seeing very little, which is what you want them to see because when you see little, you actually widen your vision. If that makes sense. But he's done a really nice job. He's a lot more comfortable in the offense, a lot more decisive. He still has a tremendous arm talent. I love the fact that he went off schedule some in during OTAs, a lot more than he did a year ago. Because all schedule he is an incredible talent when he does go off schedule and he looks good, it looks comfortable. He's more comfortable around his teammates. He's more comfortable in conversation. So it looks good. Just now we just got pieced together. What is our schedule look like? What do you mean by that? It looks like it's pro day. Okay, that throw? The throw that you're referring to? The sidearm off platform, the when he's running, when you exit the pocket and you can deliver the ball to certain spots like the Tennessee game where you hit keelan Cole and you hit Corey Davis when he was all scheduled even the pocket and keeping his eyes downfield and he's no one's going to question this talent and his physical traits it's really bringing that the physicality of the physical traits that he has in combining it with a mental part of the football game, which is the hardest part to learn, especially at quarterback. And we really we're really hopeful that he takes a takes a good step forward and being a good quality quarter starting quarterback and who knows, who knows where he can take it, but I think I showed the thing we all share the same thoughts as he does and that we think as guys limit. So just taking those steps one day at a time and seeing how far you can take. And the conversation was Garrett Wilson was the most pro ready receiver with all due respect to Drake London. I mean, that was part of the conversation throughout the entire talent evaluation portion of our calendar. How does he look so far to you, coach? You know, same thing, you know, because we're so versatile at receiver and we have our receivers playing all three spots. And the Z, the XDF and offer match our purposes. It is a little bit taxing on receivers. And the system, because you're not just lining up at the X and having to do the same thing over and over and over again. Now, Garrett is very, very smart, but it's still.

"Find a way to get rehab but couldn't quite afford what they needed to be able to get themselves into a program that could really help get them started on a path to recovery so darren waller's foundation created these grants and they interviewed a bunch of people for them and three people were chosen to receive these grants. At the event darren waller was able to meet with the three of them. Their names are heather gregory and desmond and what a moment that was i was inside the room and it was just so powerful especially when they all told their stories desmond basically had said that he would have been dead in three weeks without this program without this grant that he was emaciated that he was on basically every drug imaginable. Anything that he could get his hands on. He was doing. But the grants that darren waller's foundation was able to award them with changes life and hopefully he can stay on the path to recovery. But but here's darren waller talking about that event and also his own sobriety. What does that first of all for you to start up this partnership with this foundation. Yes it means a lot to be able to partner with landmark seen and heard great things they're doing for the lives of these people people that need help. You need guidance at her. That are desperate. Nick come here and you know really turn their lives around so to be able to link with him able to allow people to come here and continue to feel and experience at. Transformation is is amazing. Hey we got to hear some of those stories people that you've literally saved their lives. What did it account about impact. You hearing their stories and knowing how you helped them. I mean i was just amazing And they come in here and you think that you know they may not want anything but there they were just like oozing joy and no oozing just excitement about their journey that they're on now how grateful they are to be on it and to to see their experiences here where they came from here where you know just the the joy that they had to come here and to just go to work on themselves look at themselves honestly into they need to do to change. Its my days may i. My car can go out on. The highway could be the day that my day that my talk about like those moments that when people realize kate you know i need to get help. What was that moment for. you Yeah it was for me overdose..

"Ask me in two three weeks. Yeah i think about this defensive line because at this point a lot of those guys have done certain things on an individual level. We've seen in goch way. i think. Effectively rush the passer for two different teams at ineffective level. We've seen max crosby since he was a rookie. Be the raiders. Best pass rusher okay. And there's no way to dispute that even if you wanna say nice things about clean for what you could. I mean he's done some different things on the inside. But look you got your fourth round pick. That's been better at the things you expect. A number four overall pick to do and you know we can say whatever we want. but when you're fourth round pick in his third year is on the starting line and your number four overall pick is the rotational guy. That's not an ideal situation. Okay so i just feel like in way has been a probably really good addition. I was struck by how effective he looked against andrew whitworth in those joint practices. I thought he was doing a nice job. He was being disruptive in the backfield but at the same time. Like that's a practice right. It's not like they were scheming for those guys up front. You know you're trying to run your stuff and you know what's coming and it's kind of like just okay. Well what are we going to do if this comes up. And how do we perform so. I think that once we see this team against a team like baltimore right. We're they're going to run the absolute bejesus out of the football. We know that. How are they going to be able to try to set up third long so that lamar jackson has to pass. Because if you can't stop the run against the baltimore team and we know how effective they are wanting football like that's just their mo and they've tried to get better passing the ball. They went out. They got sammy. Watkins draft sean bateman. He's going to be out for a little bit after undergoing groin surgery. But they're still going to run the hell out of the football like that's just who they are if you can't stop that then it doesn't really matter what you try to do to rush the passer because it's going to be third and two and third one the whole time and they're going to get they're going to get a first down anyway so i'm interested to see how they do against baltimore. And then how that affects what they do down the road because it you want to say that this defense looks lot better. I mean it did look a lot better in the joint practice that i saw but until they actually go out and prove it. You really don't know. And i think that this unit does have a lot to prove being lots prove. We know by henry rags brian edwards. That crew were there the flip side of the ball. Wide receivers What did you make the john brown situation with him asking to be released..

"He's definitely comfortable around me. Comfortable around dressy then. He's hugging him joking with him. You know all that and those are all good songs for hopefully being able to give we. I wish everybody could catch one hundred balls. You know i really do but again. It's hard to take away from. Darren when he's been so productive and and good for us you know if darren had you know w r next to his name and the depth chart no one would care. You know the fact that it's a tight end. Why don't we get to you. Know that just is what it is. You know if if if henry can show when we put the pads on. And all that which i'm fully confident he will. Yeah absolutely. i could see that happening. Here's some thoughts as my takeaways. I wrap things up from training camp. It really interesting to start seeing how the nfl is dealing with cova protocols with players with media with staff how things are starting to come back to the norm that we're used to and i'm going to tell you it won't be one hundred percent everything that you're used to but as for me we're starting to see it returned to normalcy. We're starting to see that. We can be in the same rooms. As jon gruden derek carr booth came into. The room is the first time i hadn't been on zoom call since march twenty twenty which was pretty amazing being that we're now to look these guys in the eye. We're able to develop that report with them. And that's something that i've said all along is very important for reporters to do when we're trying to report and bring back facts to you about a team is when we can look somebody in the i. It's not just about the answer that they're giving it's about the body language it's about the presence that they have when they're answering it. You can tell if somebody liked or didn't like your question right off the bat so it's always a good thing to be able to see that return for us to be able to speak to all the players and the coaches and to have that accessibility again. It's really important for what we do. And i'm glad that i was able to see that as far as being on the field i tell you a lot of hungry readers out there. A lot of aggressive raiders out there a lot of readers that are listening and paying such close attention to the coaches and all that they have to offer as they get into training camp. You see so many fresh faces as well with the rookies and undrafted free agents. That were brought in this year. And i'm still looking for who is going to spark. I'm keeping my eyes out on jimmy morrissey on the offensive line. I'm keeping my eyes. Out on dylan's donor in the wide way. Receiver department dj. Turner's well. who. Jon gruden mentioned. And i'm looking courses see. What a lot of the defensive rookies that they brought in or going to do malcolm coons when divine diablo comes back. Maybe we can get more of a glimpse of him in the coming weeks. But i really can't wait for everything to play out. Especially as jon gruden mentioned earlier and you could hurt this on the i ten. Podcast if you subscribe to that. He talked about the secondary and in that secondary with tyree. Gillespie coming in with demon our net would nevin lawson with guys like casey hayward with trayvon molin And so many other names. That i could just go on and on and how they're going to shake out who is in what position. What a nickle package looks like. Who's going to be up there when they're playing three deep. It's one of these things that we don't know yet and we're going to have to wait and see how it all plays out in camp and so to me. That's the most exciting thing to be watching right. Now is the secondary and the cornerbacks and safeties. How everything will play out for them. Because i was going to be an area that really needs to improve for the raiders to make a push for the playoffs and the twenty twenty one season.

"My lineup is full of raiders. So you're going to want to make sure to hit. Subscribe wherever you're listening. I've got darren waller for you. I got josh jacobs for you. I also was able to catch up with jon. Gruden and derek carr at their availability's during training camp early this week. So let's get it going. I with darrin. Waller the raiders tied in who put on his own football camp out here in las vegas. The darren waller youth football camp. And i was able to catch up with him for a few minutes about the camp. The program everything that he's doing to put back into the community. Because this program gives to underprivileged children who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford a camp like this to be able to test themselves to be able to enjoy a sport that we all love football so he gave this opportunity to about one hundred kids all from underprivileged areas of las vegas and all grades from three to eight at this football camp girls and boys both so he participated in every drill. He had a giant smile across his face the entire time. So just. what. A pillar for the raiders to have as somebody who goes out to work with all the youth in the community. He's somebody that has an electricity about him when he's working with these kids and the people that he's reaching out to. So let's hear. Now from raiders. Tied in darren waller. I just wanted to get like how this all came together from you and just what it means to be you to be able to be a part of this and helping the community you know. I want to be around the kids and show them that. No somebody that does what i do. I'm not far removed from them. I can be here with him. Helped him have fun. Let them know that you know. They don't have to be perfect anything that they're doing but as long as they have a good attitude give their best effort and what they do. You know things are going to work out for them in the long run so just getting a little bit of that today. Some of these cases maybe their first chance out here kind of messages. Do you put out for like as you speak to them or as you work with them. Yeah i would just say you don't have to be perfect. I go around at these drills. You know as long as you're listening and doing the best that you can that that's all that matters you know it's a it's all about progress you know. You don't have to be the best at it right now. I was never really the best player in high school college. Or when i first got to the nfl. But i kept improving so just folks and on you know as long as you continue to get better as long as you continue to washable around you. Listen to the coaches You know things are gonna turn out. Well how do we get better out of the raider comeback and maybe get into the playoffs this year. Yeah offensively just continuing to build on the foundation They continue to get better in the red zone. defensively I thought they were gonna improve drastically this year Just from a more simple scheme and just go out there and be able to let their talent show and show how good players they really are..

NFL flexes Washington-Panthers to keep intrigue in Cowboys-Eagles

"Let's start with. The panthers and washington got moved to four zero five because they do not want the philadelphia eagles and the dallas cowboys to know that they've been eliminated if washington wins. They want the eagles and cowboys to still believe that. There's a chance dominated a chance during that game. So what do you got for. Washington carolina while for fantasy purposes It's well we're going to have to see who washington's quarterback is this week although rate before we got on on the podcasts. Here there was a situation involving dwayne haskins. Where their post on social media of of haskins Getting swag on at a at a strip club without a mask on look believe me. I know that there are Those are establishments where clothing is optional. but in the nfl masks are not right now. So washington is not going to be very happy about dwayne haskins. I think it was Tom pal sarab. Nfl network reporting that the team is handling that internally not happy. I'm sure. I think they want alex smith back this week. Anyway against carolina that would raise the ceiling of this offense. I'm still not one hundred percent. I as a matter of fact. I'm not confident at all antonio gibson playing this game turf toe is very painful so that should mean a big role for jd. Mckissic once again had a huge fantasy game last week against seattle. It was nice to see terri mclaren. Come alive in that game. A little bit with dwayne haskins at quarterback too good matchup against carolina. I would use him as a wide receiver. Three and over last month of the season only two tight end. Travis kelsey and darren waller have been targeted more have caught more passes and scored more fantasy points than logan thomas. He is a tight end. One now against the carolina panthers and i think everything would look better for washington if alex smith can play quarterback.

And you know, as 27 scores passing scores on the year that ties a Baker Mayfield, the record set in 2018 for the most by a rookie in NFL history. Las Vegas, meanwhile, dropping to seven and seven and lost quarterback Derek Carr to a left groin injury in the first quarter. Uh, Las Vegas has lost 45 all but killing its playoff chances. "Oh God. That was and I mean, think we're still floating. I don't think we've actually touched touched the ground yet. We're still on cloud nine at this moment. But you know, Joe had no idea that this was happening. I didn't get tipped off until probably five minutes prior when his boss at fox called me which you know, he doesn't call me often. So when I saw his number come up, I was a bit panicked wondering why it was following calling me mid game, but he said listen you gotta Fox does a really good job of keeping secrets. You have to watch it half dead. Joe it's going to be announced that Joe's going to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and I just started sobbing and I shake swipe you said yes, it's true. And I was like, oh my God, it said long wait, I got to go like I love you for all of this. But how dare you like call me with five minutes left to the he'll have to call so many people and tell them to watch hockey without telling them what's going on and off hang up the phone. I called all my family. I called Joe sister and his mother and everyone's crying and I'm telling everyone to spread the word without ruining the surprise and it was just awful. I mean and still lives. It's such a special just feeling I there is no one now, of course. Listen, I'm a bit biased obviously is my husband, but there is no one that works harder and juggles more and does his job with such kind of ease and Brilliance and just Pig Vacation. I mean he is so deserving of this and I've never been more proud and it is so special for his mother to be able know that her late husband. She can and her son Joe are there together in the Pro Football Hall of Fame the first father-son Duo to do it. It is such an honor and we are we're all going to be there or celebrating this in Canton. Hopefully, you know that all goes as planned. But yeah, I mean, I just have no words. I have a lot of Tears though a lot of happy tears, but sometimes you run out of words to say, but I just I've never been more happy for another human in my entire life. All right. No, I want to get into this interview with Darren Waller because he's put together this foundation and they're going to have a benefit Gala and that's not going to happen on Monday September 28th starting at 6:30 p.m. Here in Las Vegas. And the foundation is to help at-risk Youth and that's something that is near and dear to Darren Wang heart as many of you know, he played with the Ravens and then was released and had many substance abuse problems. He had a near-death experience that helped him realize he had to get a clean and once he was clean he was brought on by the Raiders. So now that he's with the Raiders. He's had a breakout 2019 campaign and now twenty-twenty. He's following right back up on that right where he left off after this Monday night's performance. He had a hundred and three receiving yards and the touchdown but I don't want to waste any more time talking about who Darren Waller is let's hear from him in his own words about this fan. Foundation how he put it together and also a little bit on the season so let's get into this right now with Darren Waller. Monday September 28th from 6:30 p.m. To 9:30 p.m. The Darren Waller Foundation is hosting a Gala called be on the wall at the dragon Ridge Country Club. So Caesar kind of planted do walk-ins last season with friends and people that were close to me about you know, what I could do to give back and start, you know, using my platform in a more way in that can really impact lives and found a couple of those things and I got you linked up with prolanthropy and got the foundation going officially back in February. So we just been working, you know, covina's kind of wage goes back a little bit, but it's great to get things going now and to really be able to have a vision of how to serve people out of, you know, really help young people and really get it going so long Starting in February and now we're really getting.

"That the Ravens are just a tougher passing defense that are rushing Defense Gotcha yeah I feel good about it too. We'll see how plays out. That is a real deal defense. So it's not out of the equation that that's a problem All right. Let desert a listener questions. We have a real raiders themed listener questions I felt good that I wasn't the one pump in the raiders onto the show the listeners were. So shout out to the listeners who who know wanted to graciously make this a enjoyable episode for me subsides Jerk McKinnon. Barrel joffrey access. At Barrow Joffrey our boy said WHO's the Titan one and why is it Dan Waller Adam, how do you feel about this man? He very well might be the tight end to while George skittles out but Travis Kelsey, quietly meanwhile during waller making ton noise Johnny Smith ton annoys Noah Fan Tyler higby ton annoys all those guys are top five but who sits Dr Travis Kelsey as always forever he's a lot for Laker. It literally go back over the last four years. He's the tight end tight end to all the time. So for me yeah, it's Travis Kelsey, but I mean, Darren Waller is a must start every week. You gotTa feel phenomenal about him I know we feel phenomenal because all of us were big Darren Waller guys this year our home and a bunch of leagues. So yeah, I mean He. You know he is that offense it's human and Josh Jacobs that's that offense and you know with. Las Vegas has figured out is that's how you win in the NFL. You just find guys that dominate and you just give them all until the defense can stop if they can't just keep doing it. It's simple. Shocked Jon Gruden figured it out. But like bullshit no out wax poetic a little bit because I is actually all about it. The raiders are impressive you have to you have to admit after the first two weeks of the season. You can see the built offense. The car can actually run don't act like Carson good quarterback we'll get to that. Question coming up on him but. As far as building an offense around a quarterback and around your skill position players, they're doing that exactly how you'd want and they are a funnel offense. So for fantasy waller. Ingestion. are huge smashes this year. Yeah I appreciate good workers there I don't mean you're speaking. So he'll the raiders is very uncharacteristic. It's frustrating they don't even like it, but it's true man you got to give credit where credit's duke written has done a great job building that all fence around his talent. I do you WANNA share this to this little Bill Belichick had an inter-, his interview today's press conference because they're playing their raiders week and he was axed. How good of a tight end is Dan? Waller how tough of a match up and this is Bill Belichick and obviously we know he talks about the opponents and make them feel good in catch him sleep in a little bit. But this is what he's at. He said, yeah, he's really really tough I. think it's been such a long. Time since we've seen a guy like this, he's really got great receiver skills played receiver. He's got a lot of length a big receiver does, but he's got very quickness and he blocks very competitively. He's not afraid to mix it up. So he does more than a receiver plan tight end ways at all the skills that can come inside. He's a very good insight receiver, which sometimes a white outside trouble making that move in there. He's really been impressive to watch. We saw him last year looked at. Him in the off season and you just see him doing everything playing wide playing the backfield play inside and run indeed, catch and run plays block in flash plays point of attack plays so very versatile player pre unique guy in the league. There's some really good tight ends but nobody really does more than this guy does and he does it very well, he's got excellent hands. It makes lots of catches. He's definitely match problem now I know he talks us up I know he does this everybody feel. Like there's value there when you saying like is legitimate right and I just wanted to you know try to throw some more Dan Waller man because you guys know I've been on it to three years now whenever the raiders were bringing them on and so I feel really good to see him having success like this in his story, you know his his struggles with drug abuse and just makes it even much that much more better So yeah managed Darren Waller shown to Darren Wall Josh wanted dispute. No. Not at all I remember I remember when people were. Out there in waller because of some hunter, Rinpoche splits hearst impact like that last year and I I was not in that your people and I'm not them now. They're in waller real. He's real next question at your boy Rick Day rich what up Girich he said, when will the Derek Carr slander stop I feel that this question is best directed towards Adam because he's the only one here who really slanders Derek Carr. This is super simple. Okay. So what has happened here is John gruden's builds an all fence around Derek Carr to arrive, and it is thriving NFL level Derek. Carr is not a good fantasy quarterback and I can prove it to the first two weeks of this season. Derek Carr is qb seventeen last year in all of twenty nineteen. What was Derek Carr qb seventeen in twenty eighteen through the entirety of the year. What did he finished as if it is qb eighteen one off that this is what he is I mean he's not anything different but what's great is they built an offense that can actually thrive around him. So he's probably going to be a more reliable weekly starter, but he doesn't. He doesn't have a big ceiling I just don't see it like from fantasy. Perfect for me. He's qb to he's a guy who has bought start potential but ultimately, I mean he is who I thought he was all along. He's a NFL journeyman now has a system that's being built around him. That's effective because they have rape playmakers and they're just four standing on the ball, which is fantastic. They keep doing that who keep producing in the. Way that he has so far, which is as high end qb to which I think is essentially what he'll always be fancy I'll tell you what I'm taking all those Derek Carr points and Scott Fishbowl all those nice cheap Derek Carr points guy that's interesting. I'm looking where he's Scott fishbowl through two weeks is that's adds a totally different format that definitely makes things. More over seventy percent completion or five hundred passing yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions this year so far or one hundred qb rate every single week I mean the guy is just doing it all man like he's perfect for that setup for especially for Scottish zero interceptions just as beautiful thing man to beautiful thing Josh Yeah you feeling Derek are coming into the year, right? It listen Derek Carr is just he's he's so crapped on and the reality is is in this gray area of Sameness with you know. Eighty percent of the other quarterbacks in the League and win Brian Edwards and in rugs take off they're going to drag him up. It's people just want to sell the story that Derek Carr is so bad when in reality, he's just like every other quarterback in the league except for maybe four of them. Not. To mention you to Tanah Nelson Galore and then Zeh Jones week to. Know that takes.

Musical Tradition Rennes in your family. So I wanted to talk a little bit about fats waller and as just because I know that music means a lot to us. So how much just having that lineage and then now kind of being out and being your own musical artists as well. That kind of help you as well in. Just getting through the day to day with the NFL and keeping such a positive attitude. Music helps a lot just because. The football's really demanding games. Like mental preparation. Physical demands. Emotional out. It drains you in outweighs. Yourself up. Or back into yourself. Also usually goes after me. Makes me feel good. That's why. I enjoyed. Who've natural? Balance over to. Outs meet continue to go wrong and. Just. Last one for me I know you and Max Crosby have been very close with each other and working in music Max's actually get. So the show not too far back and he said that the two of you were collaborating on a musical piece, is there anything? "I'm really excited to deliver this episode. I was able to go one on one with raiders tight end Darren. Waller this week we talked all about his sobriety, what it meant for him to celebrate being sober for three years and I also have some sound from his teammates and head coach. Jon. GRUDEN talking about what? An achievement that was for Darren Waller. Now, if you did not see hard knocks last year or you have not heard about waller story well, he talked about it and hard knocks and he had said that he felt like a vegetable when he was in Baltimore that he was getting high every day that he was taking anything from hits to oxy pills, xanax cocaine whatever it was didn't matter. He said he did not care about anything or any kind of consequences. Or. Anything like that. Well, fast forward to two, thousand, eighteen, the raiders sign him on. He's able to get in there a little bit in two, thousand, eighteen but twenty nineteen. Obviously he had a break out season three touchdowns over eleven hundred receiving yards Darren Waller being the primary target for Derek Carr in the twenty nineteen season and we're gonNA see how he develops in the coming season coming up here twenty twenty. We're really looking forward to see what we. Get again out of Darren.
