"An article this week about his three favourite draft picks from each round of the NFL draft. One of his favourite picks is the Rams third round. Pick of Daryl Henderson for Memphis ever seen this kid. Yeah. He actually ran roughshod over UCLA in a game. So Darryl Henderson averaged eight point nine yards per carry over his last three hundred and forty four. Russia's had eleven touchdowns of fifty four plus yards in two thousand eighteen alone. Nothing about that. He had eleven touchdowns. Of fifty four plus yards last year. He says the high flying Rams just supercharged their depth at running back. Now Todd Gurley is averaged over three hundred touches each of the last three years there's been a lot of speculation about his knee house us in the Super Bowl. Maybe there's thrice. Maybe there's not nobody really knows Rams also re-signed Malcolm Brown, who I really like take a guess how many touches will Todd Gurley have during the upcoming twenty nineteen season closer to two hundred then three hundred I think they're really gonna diamondback because they like Malcolm Brown and this kid from Memphis can play this kid's going to be like third down. Specialty back kinda like Darren sproles a change of pace back. And I think he's going to be in there a lot. I would say if you told me. Last year girly at three hundred. Yup. I'll say one ninety five just under two hundred and then the other two guys get these those other touches, what do you think point that's less than what are you saying, you're one hundred basically. That would be an average of twelve touches a game. That's about right twelve to fifteen. God. Did it really go that way? I think that is me as messed up, and they're not telling anybody goes from three hundred touches and to two hundred such downs. Did you end, and I still think you'll get double digit touchdowns but closer to ten then twenty. Yeah, I've feeling you're right. They didn't just accidentally draft this kid, and they love Malcolm Brown. I mean and think about a Darren sproles type back in Sean McVay controlled offense. No, I think I think you're right. I think it is less than two hundred touches for Todd Gurley this year, which is incredible to me that that me is that bad. I think it is. All right Mace. "Congratulations. Again. It's too good. A triple double at any level. Let alone in the NBA is a hell of an accomplishment. Yeah. It was a lot of fun, man. I just tried to make the right place to keep everybody involved in just so happens that ended up getting triple double due to some clutch performances from some other guys who, you know, made threes finish around the basket and sets gray screens for me. Everybody doesn't get a text back. I'm not gonna lie to you many. It's not that. I think I'm boozier above certain things. But my circle is tight knit. I think that when you're when you're in a spot to where you're happy with the direction you're heading game. You're striving for more, and you have a good solid foundation. You don't wanna open yourself up too much that experience in that that championship pedigree from the patriots. They're all battle-tested. They've all been there before they probably have a Super Bowl routine. They're going through because this is like the nighttime for Brady, and they know what to expect. Whereas that that element of surprise is something you can't really prepare for. So I'm not sure how the Rams will react to that. Welcome to the Darren sproles episode pull up. That's right episode number forty three currently in Portland, Oregon joint some downtime at the house. A nice little layover at home. I think we have two games in sixteen days. Play the Utah Jazz tomorrow seven thirty and then we don't play again until the following week. One of those rare breaks during the middle of the season to where the NBA kinda gives you some favor after a tough season of travel. Log in the most miles in the NBA as we always do flying all across the world NBA decide to give us a break until next Tuesday. So I'm extremely excited about that. And really looking forward to you know, trying to win as many games as possible for all star break. But without further ado, a lot of stuff going on across the NBA trade deadline's coming up about nine days away players demanding for traits. My co-host, aka Mr. Jordan Schultz has a lock on his family's life right now. Well, so we have tons and tons of stuff to talk about. So without further ado, Jordan, welcome to the pull a pot always Yoma, man. Thank you so much. And you know, I just want to congratulate you on the first career triple double and a career that I'm sure we'll have many more guy chance to watch that at home. And it was it was not only was a great to watch. But I it was like is it going to happen is not going to have it. I believed it was going to happen. But there were a couple like, you know, vis jumpers. I think in meanest one. And I was like oh, man. Come on get see this. Good CD, this triple double. I could tell you really wanted it. The guys wanted for you must have been really fun. It was a lot of fun, man. But I think the biggest thing was that we were able to come away with a much needed win in the Western Conference played at home playing against sub five hundred teams you have to take advantage in. Obviously, we're short shorthanded Dame didn't play. He was said now ET ended up not playing after about the first quarter. So we were little short handed, but I just tried to make. Right place have fun out there. Keep everybody involved in just happens that ended up getting the triple double due to some some clash performances from some other guys who, you know, made threes finish around the basket. Instead some gray screens for me..

"Joe Staley Zach stream even said that even though they lost the saints lost that game witness said that he he would put the Super Bowl above that. But it's it's number two. So it wasn't number one on these guys with it was number two show. I mean, it's it's something that they wanted to share. But I think as time goes on you, you want to you wanna do that a little bit more to sort of memorialize it and the other part was that, you know, at that point. It was a fantastic game. But the forty nine. Played another game. The next week another bruiser against the New York Giants show a lot of the. You know, the celebrate celebration of that game got swept under the rug because there was another, you know, even bigger game coming down the pike. So people forgot about it and didn't really get its proper do. And that's another reason why I wanted to to write about it. Was there anything in the interview that surprised you what was the kind of the biggest surprise? Oh, I didn't know that whether it be about the game or or really about the the process all told I didn't know that just how gut wrenching the law was to the saints. It's the biggest loss in the history of that franchise. I had so many people tell me that. And I'm like, wait say this inches lose. You know, a horrible game in Minnesota. When when the guy just like, you know, try to tackle a phantom on the field there. And and the answer was. Yeah. Even even bigger than that. And it was because they. Had been so good. And so good at the end of the season. And we're just killing teams, you know, scoring forty points game on a roll, you know. Drew Brees at the top of his game Jimmy grim at the top of his game. Darren sproles untackled little Marcus Colston, every Henderson just a just a an array of weapons and everything just working out. Great and really some talented defensive players to. I mean, look at the safety Roman Harper and Malcolm Jenkins, I mean, the they they got rid of Jenkins largely because of that game. Everybody is so she aided Jenkins that game, and it sort of blind them to the fact that he this is this is really good safety. And it turned out that that he has been. I mean, consistent all pro and Pro Bowl since then show, I didn't realize just how devastating it was to that organization..

"You seem to change the offense of a decent defensive schemes right after the Dallas game. Or maybe during the giants game. Things were simplified. Do you wish done that earlier? Well, anytime anytime as you. As you go through about your first six eight games of the year. Your, you know, your your self evaluating you know, after every game. And you're looking back on your your tendencies office defense in even on special teams as coaches as coordinators. And so you're trying to keep your trying to keep through game planning. You're trying to keep your opponent sort of second guessing in all of that. And then eventually get to that point in the season where you go. You know, what you gotta get back to some of your basics of your core stuff that that really began to work whether it be in the run game or obviously in the passing game in. Thank I think is the season went, you know. And then of course, you know, we brought in gold in and we're trying to catch him up and get him up to speed. We move Nellie back outside and did some things in that. So we kinda at that point said, hey, let's let's get back to some of our core. And that sort of you know, it was a springboard was a catalyst to the end of the season. You know, I look back and say, okay. Well, you know, we started with the falcons game where we came out of training camp using those plays, and we will not game, you know, different things like that. So you know, hindsight's always twenty twenty you can. Always go back and say, yeah, we could have simplified back then it is a lesson learned how ever moving forward and something will consider this spring. I just think that when you have a long year like we had last year, and we had a lot of guys coming off of off seasons surgeries just continuing to improve the depth on your football team. I mean, eight is a marathon the football season and making sure that you guys were coming in and playing at a high level. So that you're not taking step back when you have those injuries, and especially belong to the year goes guys aren't recuperating the same amount of time. You lose no sixties. Back in the spring. Darren sproles said it was probably his last season because he lost significant time along the way he left the door open. But the possibility of playing another year how much of any does he figure into your future equation for this roster? I ever knows how feel about Darren sproles again as a person player. There's not many guys who've walked through this building who have higher character better leadership ability and have the chance to go to the hall of fame. So I think that everyone just needs a time to get away, and you kind of reconvene those conversations at the proper time. And that's what we'll do. Jumping off that how do you feel about the running back situation guys? And right now, you have a couple of guys we're going to be free agents. A couple guys coming off injury in front of if you see that as in the as you had the off season. Yeah. I think that's you know, when we look at all the positions, and we go through it Jay getting hurt early core. Getting heard that was position that was affected. Those two three guys who were part of the rotation in the Super Bowl last year in really key guys. And so we have to look at at that among other positions and figure out kind of where we are going forward..

"You can also hear him on WW L in New Orleans, Mike this team has been other than that opening inexplicable loss to fits magic has been unbelievable pretty much all season. Couple hiccups down the stretch. Is there any reason other than the potential actual sorcery of Nick foles to believe that they can't handle the eagles coming in to their house this weekend? I think everybody feels the same way. So that you know, this football team almost been like a team of destiny. You know, the way the washed less shoot a Minnesota. And how that stick with you for so long until you play again in September and stink it up in the first game defensively. But then after that it's been a really hard ruined for them. Certainly the Cowboys would trip war for them. But you know, as long as drew breezes upright this football team. I think has punched their ticket to Super Bowl Sunday. I think he's the big key. Here we have seen what he can do with the football throwing it downfield. And I get another record breaking year for him. Accuracy wise, despite the fact late in the season they've had injuries along the offensive line. And the eagles were the first team. He did his show weekly show with us and said the eagles were the first team that double covered Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara and basically. Flipping you the football middle finger and saying if you to hit somebody else downfield, go ahead and do it. And I think that's been part of why they haven't hit the numbers that they've hit before. But with a healthy Ted Ginn and a healthy Toronto instead of back in the lineup which they didn't have against the eagles. Gotta feeling they'll be rolling again. We're talking to Mike to till you hear him on WWL in New Orleans benefit sarahspain Jason Fitz. Mike any concern? I mean, they ended the season essentially with rest and now they get a buy week any concern of rosters. They start this game. You know show showing was laughing about that. Because you said, you know, isn't this the same questions? I gotta ask me in two thousand nine we lost the final three games everybody. Oh, you took it easy on this. The only team in the NFL devolution the final three games of the season to win the Super Bowl. I think I have a pretty good pulse. Football team. This is much younger team than detto nine team. And but he. He relates very well. You'll generation sort of speak. And I think he knows what's best for his football team. And he felt strongly that with injuries front along the offensive line. He needed to give them some restaurant. Mike, you know, I was looking at some of the statistics. And everybody's been raving about the eagles. Ofensive line eagles defensive line. What they've been able to do Nick foles that offense of lines certainly gives him protection. But he's also been really fantastic throwing quickly and short passes to gain yardage moving. His way up the field in fact with two and a half seconds or less to throw. He's I in pass attempts. I and pass touchdowns. I in completion percentage. Is there any way that the saints are going to try to mix up the rhythm for him? So that he can't do what he did against the bears, which is just slowly. But surely methodically make his way up the field. Well, one of the things Nick does. And it's a little bit out of the drew Brees playbook is used that short path. Like an extended handle does it really well, and certainly with Darren sproles in the lineup that works. We we've seen just how good of a plan. Sproles wasn't you Wallington despite his age. He's still really good. Nick foles has a strong tendency to throw the ball to the right? Side of the field. And I think for the saints..

"Maybe where the Stephens isn't gonna think you're gonna run, you know, I saw I watched the Philly Rams game a couple of weeks ago, and they ran on draw play on third and four there for like eighteen yards because in that situation they had their nickel defense on the field. Philly spread everyone out. There was just a three-man defence align Donald sue. And I think it was foul at the time. And they gassed them, you know, they just mantle man had on hat double team Donald pulled pulled one of their tackles at blocked sue out of the play in. There was seventeen yards there for Darren sproles to take. I think that that's going to be. Key is. Yeah, I hate running on second long. But if you can spread that defense out on second seven or second eight and then run that draw play or maybe even incorporate that quarterback, you know, sweep the QB draw the QB power those are ways that I think that you can really make that run game affective without running the ball thirty two times. Because like I said, if if you're a run thirty times, you're you're you know, you're you're giving up your giving up what you're trying to do. And I think that anyone in the NFL that knows how to play defense can adjust to that and say, we're just gonna let you run it right into our teeth for three or four yards then punt or kick field goals, and the we're going to get the ball back and score. So I don't want to don't want to run in a brick wall. That's all I don't want him to do agree. It everything you just said there as far as you don't wanna be stubborn. I don't think you can be stubborn or one dimensional against like, I said Wade Phillips defense. He kind of mentioned teams have had to throw the ball more than run. Because the Rams are so prolific on the offensive side that you can't just on run the football. But this is a game. I like what you said about running back in the I think this game. He got the you'd is his legs of it. More on getting second guessing at dome, not not make them think twice about committing to Zee on some zone reads and things of that nature. Saw a little bit of down the stretch against Seattle in it in at word to me deck. He's a guy that can run the football on Emec plays with his legs. We've seen it his rookie season. So info career he did a minute name for himself on that collegiate low. He's a guy that can do do you what him taking taint fifty years? Ain't no. But some here, and there I think in open this off until bit more in maybe in. As a result dole. Get some zeke's. Open running lanes gets to passing lanes over the middle to open up and things of that. And I think that could really hope is help this team moot..

"The score. Malcolm Jacobs thrown up birds against Sean Payton, you know, I did that because it's fucking disgraceful. He knew why they ran up the score because they weren't scared. They didn't think we would be here. They didn't think we would come back from that. Victory. They didn't think we would have the heart fucking champion to come back into the city of liens you bear stuff. You know, what the Philadelphia eight p fucking embarrassed by poke ass bitches, and we're going to have a revenge for Malcolm Jacobs for Darren sproles too. Great players, you left the sidelines and lafley it's going to be arraigned for Nick fucking full his one playoffs two thousand thirteen. It was all chip Kelly's fault and we're booking coming for you. We're banked will be in the Super Bowl book. It. All right. Let me get you towel. I may have been spraying a little bit say we've got a great word with revenge. Insz double. But you got saints office of line banged up. Okay. You're about to do the, but objectively this heels. The side breeze last let drew Brees last four gas because their last game was when they kicked our ass. Juries last four games. Yards per tempt six point four. That's not very good. I loving games. Eight point eight completion percentage down from seventy six point four to sixty nine point two touchdown to interception. Twenty into first eleven games. Three and three last four games QB rating, one twenty seven point three down to eighty four point seven, and he's going up against Nick foles, a guy who has the highest QB writing all time in the playoffs. Minimum. Also, look at another team that strangely has struggled when the running game isn't there? Yes. And the eagles are going to. I mean strength of the saints. No doubt is that offense of line to -bility to run block, and what the running backs can do behind them if they get if they get bottled up we've seen breeze struggling find the receivers at times, especially if you're seventy three yard, especially if you can lock up, Michael I say, the defensive line is is is playing on a different level journey against here. Fletcher Cox seems healthier than he was earlier in the season. And to defend the eagles. But I think the defensive line and the way the defense is playing in general is playing on a level where they're not playing the same team and it. Yeah. Maybe they shouldn't have run up the score. May maybe that don't do that the grown men grown men. Right. What what is the closer special prop based on? It's based on the fact that if you don't if you don't if you underperform the spread by twenty points, and you're getting points next week, your you're a good spot. Right perception, right. It's it's it's basically as bad as your worst game, and you NFL players respond to being embarrassed. If the eagles team needed any sort of extra motivation. Didn't they get it by the saints parading around the money in the Lombardy acted like L? Hey, we're the ones see how we're gonna. Trophy that Super Bowl isn't even in New Orleans. Lanta? We know this is not something you should do. Right. Like whether or not you believe in jinxing. You should believe in bulletin board material and the power of motivation. And you know, what when I watched the giants like go on that run. It was the same dome shit. Whereas like that like they're literally they literally put tickets to the Super Bowl on the Cowboys chairs before that game against the giants. They put the tickets, they're like cheeses. Hey, g- were going. Can Shattuck's and that shouldn't fuck in resonates with these dudes Shawn's, right? Like, there's there's something to be said about look this eagles team is gelling again at the right time. I do they have enough to win this game. I don't know. But they certainly have enough to make it a game. And this point spread is probably too big. This is the one favored I almost took Sean I almost to your eagles. Wow. I I like the way the defense is playing and I like the fact that we we have not seen this saints team looked dominant in some time. So dogs have been on a crazy run in the playoffs..

"I'm purely rooting for him just for the the gifts as fellow gift gift God now, all too. Well. All right last game. I think it's price. Interesting game goals that Seitz Damien explained. Nick, foles, go. Wow. Why is Nick foles? What is Nick foles who is Nick foles is he got? He's he's a Demi God. He's a Demi gut right now. I listen Philadelphia teams gone from it went from averaging twenty twenty points a game to twenty seven points per game. When Nick foles took over, I it's amazing. I can't point to one thing that Nick foles of has just done to for everything to the points began to jump up like that obviously Darren sproles coming back healthy helps out the office align starting to play a lot better helps the Philadelphia Eagles defence align playing a lot better helps. But it's just I don't know what it's is. Something would Nick foles Doug peace and how he's running this office. They're just they're just clicking right now. It's hard to explain it really is. Actually, play better with him to that. Would annoy me two things would annoy me if I was well a lot would be annoying me right off. I was Carson Wentz. Okay. But who? The fact that that Nick foles keys winning. Oh, you know, he he's big man is big man right now our guy on the sidelines and pretend like he's happy when they went. So a few things would annoy me if I was him one Jefferies just morphs into like an all like like sometimes receive quarterbacks. They just click, right. And I think Nick foles he would who does have a very yellow style. And I think that's part of the reason he's he's like playing his entire career with house money at this point. And the thing about Ashley Jefferies. So physical powerful throw it up to him, man. He's going to win those those one on ones and Nick foles he's gonna throw it up. So they've got that. So that would annoy me the fact that okay now gold, take great. Yes. Score. Touchdown wanting fools. Cool. Very so it seems like if you're really does seem like those weapons played better with him. But the number one thing, I think would be that the offensive line is suddenly awesome. Again. Some of the has to do with Nick foles in his style of play. And the fact that he gets the ball out so quickly totally. But a lot of it has to do with them just playing incredibly. Well, I mean, how many sex did clear in this game zero zero zero the office. Align is just they've been playing lights out light sound like I said Darren sproles come back being healthy as has helped the offense, and all and you made a great point about. All awesome, Jeffrey, he's not a speed burner. He's not you're not going to mistake him food. Same bolt? He's not gonna run by you anything like that. But would he is a basketball type guy throw it up? And that's what Nick foles does. Well, he's just trust is guys and for our Jeffrey, he's he's just he'll throw it up there. And just let him hop point the ball. He's done a tremendous job of that the other side of the ball so eagles, I think as much as you talked about winning in the trenches. This is a team. Right now that is waiting in the trenches on both sides of the ball. But but as good as eagles defensive line is as much as they look like the two thousand eighteen or seventeen slash eighteen defensive line that secondary has issues one of those issues horror expose, and of course, it happened after I tweeted will because really torture. How much are the saints going to prey on him? And how big of a concern? Like, let's talk about this defense versus that saints offense. What are your biggest concerns? Those eagles divas line is going to have the play like the hair's on fire. Literally it like they're going to have to have their best game because as much as we've talked about the improvement on defense. We're really talking about the defense line because not really the secondary the secondary still a major, major liability. Whether we talk about, you know, holding and pass interference just getting flat out beat..

"So if you get a guy like Willie mcginnis who really great player, but if he's garden Darren sproles and coverage it's not good for them. Right. So you just gotta make sure you have matchup wise, the appropriate guys on Seahawks in Cowboys. This was the other one that said whoever survives. This one's going to be very team for whoever faces them the Cowboys. I wouldn't I wouldn't be in love with the idea of our the Rams. So having the tackle Zeke Elliott for six, and it's a little, but I liked the Rams, and I find it hard to imagine that that Sean McVeigh especially with an extra week's going to get out smarter. By Jason gear. I would agree with you. I just don't think the Cowboys. They did what they had to do yesterday. Obviously win the football game. But when you go forward and you play a team like the Rams you were going to score. They're going to score points. I mean the Cowboys good defense, but they're not playing at home. They're playing on the road is a little bit different. The Rams they have. Many different ways that they can beat you. And I feel like the last month. We've kind of just sent had the Rams, I don't know. I feel like we've lost a little of their luster maybe because their defense struggles a little bit. And that's the one kind of hope that you have if you're a cowboy fan is okay. We can run the ball. Rams governor terrible at stopping the run. Yeah. That's true. But it's also because teams don't run the ball when they're down twenty dried to the Rams so this statistically, you kind of get a little bit skewed. I kind of agree with that though. I have heard of that pack mentality that takes over that when you're on a team with Aaron Donald who's racking up big numbers. And you have some of those guys out there that then it becomes a contest to. Oh, I do. Well, they're loaded with a group of guys that want to get home. I right. It's not necessarily team defense with them. You've got to leave and you got Peters. I mean, these guys are hired guns. I mean, you got these guys inside sues kind of doing his own thing. He's try Donald getting a lot of attention. Why don't I get attention? Well, let me get off the field and make a play. So then then you get out run game gaps, and you got some issues. Son, a bum. Wade. We'll be able to say all right that was season ball where. No. But that's not what we're about here. We're taking they'll have they'll have a very specific plan. C galley. It is not going to come into the Coliseum and take away our play are Super Bowl dreams. Plus the trick. I mean, you you're gonna stop seek, and then you're going to say okay now, how are we going to match up with Amari Cooper? So did we put to leave on Cooper? We put Peters on him. Either way. I think the Rams are in good good position because they have two guys that you can say, okay, we're gonna put Peters on Cooper. And we're gonna take to leave and a safety and put them on their next guy, and you kind of run outta options. If your dog Prescott at that point because you can't run the football can't really throw it to my guy. Those other guys have to make plays against what I think is a pretty good second. Corner. Whether you look to leave or Peters is a second corner, regardless of the year that Peter said it was struggled. He struggled a little bit. He's still a pretty good football player. So especially if he's on a second guy. I think they're going to be just fine..

"I was talking to our eagles reporter for wolf for the athletics, Philadelphia. And he was saying they've actually haven't seen a ton of the aggressiveness at that. That was so you're paramount. So that equals team last year. The maybe the first year head coach thing and that he's got so. Yeah, if I had to pick one that warp asleep, go negative and the Ursa guys these two teams that like to go for too. But I think one team the eagles says a lot more confidence in their kicker the bears do so if you're talking about trick plays in two point your version situation. Also, led to the idea that Matt Nagy is going to have more of those ready because I I would expect it to go for two at some point. All right, Kevin. If you take a look at all the stats and all the analysis. What's something that you don't think has gotten enough attention this week that you found interesting while dissecting this game. Yes. So I'll go to special teams because the bears have had a weird special teams here here. They give up that they had a bad game against the patriots, Alaska and kickoff return, we we all about Cody Parke's issues, but they also have a Pro Bowl Plummer terrier in three colon. And they're punk covers pretty good. How at a salad here you've got Darren sproles side. And if you're up to believe that the defense is that the bears defense is going to be so good as they have been and the bears offense might just be a little uneven. Like we've seen many times this year. It could be a field position game and you have to limit their roles. You can't give up some of those big special teams plays to a team. It's an underdog and give them confidence. So I I'd be curious. I'm curious to see how they handle that. If they're able to three Kono nice punt return if able to kind of flip the field, if if they go three and out or come up short of the sticks. And then it comes down to Cody parkey. I mean that is such a. Massive factor in this game. I like the first time he comes to the field. I remember that feeling like it's been a soda after the four upright game. It was like nothing ever experienced before covering a game. You you could just feel the entire stadium holding their breath as he went out there and I expected to Sunday. So yeah, I I'm curious to see how they hit over third faces a pretty good and special teams. But you're their captors been tested this year and the bears are a little underrated. They've been unlucky at times and special teams too. So I think if they could win that battle with the field position battle baked or field goals. It's them a really good chance to win. Kevin appreciate jumping out here on a Friday night. I cannot wait till Sunday night and Monday morning because you and Durkan and all the guys athletic do such a great job breaking down as one of the first things. I look at every Monday morning effort game. So I can't wait. Hopefully, it's a it's one where we can then look again the following the following week. So appreciate you for jumping out. His always thanks a lot. Kevin. Thank you for the night. Kevin fish brain from the athletic. Nice enough to join us. We come back. We'll quickly have the results of our poll questions and then quickly. I wanna ask you what you think of the other three games? Sounds good. Because there are three other games. They all they could be pretty decent games on this wild card weekend. We're talking about it here on ESPN one thousand.

"Goal Goldberg podcast Judas, eight o'clock get a better look at the Philadelphia Eagles who come to town three forty Sunday, then Kevin fish, paying the athletes. Nice enough to join us at around eight thirty got a couple of polls out there for you at ESPN one thousand on Twitter, and I had them up. And then I got rid of him and bring him back up here. I've got your back. How about this one? We put out there. And if you want to join the conversation at three one two three three two three seven seven six who will be the bears MVP on Sunday, there are three options and in other that you can choose your own. I think the three options that we have here are the three that I was going to give you before we put them out. There you go. So the options are Khalil Mack. Mitch trubisky. Tariq Cohen, I would rank them this way fried. I would go Khalil Mack one Mitch Trubisky three I would put Cohen number two. He was bad in the last game. You know, he was spell catching the ball and running backwards, but he's such a game changer. Well, yeah. And I don't like that when he's running the wrong direction. Returns because you know, what he's not crafty enough and not fast enough to be able to pull that off. Right. Devin Hester is really the only one who could ever do that. And then late in his career with the bears. He couldn't he would grounded. Right. So I think but tree coin on offense is such a dangerous weapon in such a help to Trubisky that the reason I would put Cohen to over Trubisky is not to say that Trubisky may have a bad game. It I think he's going to have the type of game that steady. Yeah. Cohen could really thrive with little dump offs in the backfield. Maybe he can go deep and maybe Trubisky can hit him on a deep route. Or maybe being a play in the special teams. But I think tree Cohen offensively is definitely going to be the guy and obviously Khalil Mack. I mean if this team's gonna get to Super Bowl it's because in the next three to four weeks, we're going to see Khalil Mack have two or three of his best games of his life. And if he does that this team will be going to. Yeah. There's a really good chance of that. The other ones we have two other. How would you? How would you vote vote? I might vote. You're you boy, I can't vote Trubisky one. But here's the key. You can't vote Bisky one because win this season. Have you seen him be the player on the field for this tight? He's been good. Yeah. And he's lead them offense. But I don't think any of us are confident that he's going to go out there and threw for four touchdowns in the eagles. Like, you know, what you don't have to. If for some reason if for some reason, the defense turns the ball over and gets the ball in great era. Great territory deepen the eagles territory. And he just throws a touchdown pass. There's one and another one there's two heavy runs in one while you throw for two and run for one. It's tough to not be MVP. But based on how you know what Khalil Mack does. And in order for a guy like Khalil Mack to be an MVP of a game. He still he's still got to have two sacks. And maybe a strip sack fumble recovery and something like that. That, you know, the change change the course of the game. It's not out of the it's not he did. Right. He did a lot of it earlier this year and the one guy, and we don't we don't have it on the list. We other guy that we talked about a lot earlier in the season. Now, he's on the field. All the time. Akiem Hicks has been playing unbelievable football in the second half of the season. Heck last three quarters of the season. He's been playing great great football. So he's another guy that Iraqi but close I on because you know, the Philadelphia is the bears are bears. Can't wait. The bears are eager to go on out there and keep Vic Fangio a little bit longer and this bears team. Yeah. I mean, I can't wait. Can't wait you walk around the city today you walk around the say all week and people are thirsty for a good playoff performance. And you know, you bring up Akeem Hicks, and he is entering that conversation. A beloved defensive bears and it takes time, right? He's going to have to perform well in big spots for years to come into that class with Lance Briggs. In Charles Tolman. But man, he has the personality. I think he gets the city share. I think we love watching him and the way that he works hard. And you can just see him dominating. It is fun to watch one of our other polls which unit will win the game for the bears on Sunday offense defense or special teams and our third one which third one a joke on that option. The special teams there are people joking with that you can't possibly think the special teams is going to win this for them. Right. Well, special teams could be Cohen at a punt return the unit overall in divas twenty-six in football. So like, listen, even though Cohen made all pro as a returner. Yeah. The the unit itself is not that great. And then you add in the parking kicking which is just going to give us all nightmares until we get the Sunday because heaven forbid he has to kick a big cake in the fourth quarter. Well, and that's what we are mostly saying. But out in flag valley Edwards got a different opinion. Edward what's going on. Yeah. This is Edward calling. I was gonna say the MVP for this. Sunday's bears game is definitely going to be Cody parkey. He's going to be on the money and he's gonna hit the game winner. House. How nervous are you going to be what he what he stepped up to try to kick any field goal or extra very nervous saying? This is this is the city where we don't allow too many failures. This is going to be his week for him. That's gonna make or break his his. As a matter of fact, Edward we appreciate the call must not be a bulls fan. I haven't heard that one Blitzer my entire life. But this is the city of we don't we don't allow for too many failures. Yeah. Well, you know, couple just a couple of failures. Pains finally gone. The last one I found it w throw it out there before we go any further. Are you worried at all about Sunday's game? Yes. A little nervous or not at all. I don't have voting right now. Revolt. Not at all not at all. Not at all. What was it to be nervous about you're playing with house money? This. Everybody says Philadelphia's playing with house money because they won the Super Bowl last year. So not many teams actually get to two straight Super Bowls much less win so loud, they're playing with house money. Plus, they don't have their quarterback again, they have Nick foles playing and things like that. It's all fair. But when you have the best defense in football, you go into every matchup with a a definitive edge that should allow you to compete in the game. You're not gonna get blown out. I think it'd be very, you know, we laid out all the possibilities. I think one of the possibilities. That would be the least likely to happen would be an eagles blow out of the bears. I agree because I think no matter what happens. The defense is going to be all the limit the eagles scoring. And I think there's something like the eagles having scored over twenty four points on the road this season. And don't you think the second one is I take a look for that. Don't you think that the second one would be the second least likely would be? The eagles. I mean, the bears blown out the. Yeah. The bears law in either way. Because I think the bears have only one three games on blowouts this year. Yeah. I would probably subscribe to that Fred. But I think it's going to be close either way. Chances are the bears are going to win this football game. They should there the Barrett team. Right. And you know, if you take a look at all the the entire roster. They're their team that should take advantage of what the eagles had the offer, especially if you look at that defensive front. If Trubisky can be accurate at all going down the field. The bears are going to be very successful offensively. The secondary is not the best for the Philadelphia Eagles. We'll talk with Vince Quinn from the goldbergs podcast. They actually haven't done too bad scoring on the road. I'm looking here at Tampa. They scored twenty one twenty three at Tennessee this thirty four against the giants at the giants twenty four Jacksonville police seven against New Orleans. Papa Twenty-three in a loss at Dallas thirty thirty against the Rams when they won that game. Right. And then twenty four nothing they beat Washington last week. So they've scored some points. The bears really have not blown a lot of teams out this year. And you don't expect this bears team too low a lot of people out because of what we've talked about with Mitchell Trubisky, not being the guy that's going to drop back and find his receivers and everything else. He he got what got him receivers. They got him. Alan robinson. They've got him Taylor Gabriel and think about it the first half of the season. It seemed like they were doing a lot more. And I think what you were saying earlier is you know, the way they've pulled back in this offense of going deep and doing a lot of different things. We didn't see Trey Burton for a few weeks. We didn't see Anthony Miller for a few weeks. He went three straight weeks where he had to targets one. Catch any came out here. Three receptions touchdown and at any ran the ball in his shoulder. One popping out. But they have so many weapons, and I gotta feeling you know, I understand that Philadelphia has a weapons among them alshon, Jeffery. And they also have Nelson and golden Tate. Zach herbs. Dan sproles? Yeah. Darren sproles Darren sproles Darren sproles soon to be in Colin because a lot of people have compared to recall into Darren sproles a healthy. Darren sproles is is a pest. He's a guy that can actually be a big thorn in the side of the Chicago Bears. That's one of the things I'm not really worried about deep passes. Another one of the stats again. We got them all over the place. The lowest completion percentage allowed at passes thrown at least twenty yards downfield. Pretty good number especially in this year's, you know, in in the NFL nowadays, the bears are number one. Twenty three percent patriots have twenty-six bills have twenty six Vikings Twenty-eight Cowboys twenty nine so the bears. Allowing just twenty three percent. Completion percentage eyeballs shown twenty yards or more downfield now falls is going to drill. Many of those throws some jump balls to alshon Jeffery throw seem routes to Zakar. It's and golden Tate and Nelson can catch the ball. And run. But the one thing that we've been able to see the bears do recently. They've only let it up twice. They did it against the Packers. They did it against the Miami. Dolphins is they did not tackle after guys caught the ball Albert Wilson ran wild and Cobb for Green Bay. But other other than that they've been tackling receivers after they catch the ball. You're going to have to do that with Zakar. It's and with Al Shahed Aguilar, and what's Golden State and golden Tate, especially because if you remember back to the dolphins game it wasn't like some six eight wide receiver. They couldn't bring down. No. It wasn't gronkowski out. There. Running down the middle of the field that they couldn't tack. How are you? I'm five eleven okay. You're you're three inches taller. Everybody people like me, we're running down the field. And that's what we saw Jackson struggle with. Where you look at golden Tate, Nelson Agla both really fast receivers and heck Darren sproles all these guys. They get the ball out in the flat or they cross catch it, and then they have room to run. That's where I would be concerned as a bears fan for the secondary. Because you're right, Fred they've done a better job in the second half. But all the the the issues early on were smaller wide receivers who were fast being able to get away from a safety or corner and bring all the break it and then like not allowing just that one guy to miss, but then three four five, and then all of a sudden you have a seventy yard touchdown. Yeah. You do with that. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Because those are the key things that'll kill ya. Not only early in the game. We're really get you down and gets, you know, maybe takes you out of the game a little bit. But also late in the game. You want to make sure you make those tackles, and I understand taking the ball away key thing. But the tackle comes first. You gotta make the tackle let the second guy. It always used to be. I guy make the tackle second guy convince transcript the ball. You don't want to see anybody trying to strip the ball without making the tackle it happens. Once in a while, we see it. It's happened in the past with fuller with Amos they've done it in the past. They've been better at it. I'm sure Vic Fangio's, but Hartford at it. And hopefully, they make the tackles, and that's going to be a key part of this game. I know it sounds stupid. It's football. Tackling is going to be important. It's very important. You know, Fred. You're a big soccer fan. And I know in soccer, they have advanced analytics and they look at heat maps. Yeah. To wear guys running. This doesn't really have too much to do with anything..

"He he's the perfect example of defensive coordinator who doesn't just go and run his scheme, but he schemes to attack the offense. And I know that that sounds ridiculous that you know, we even have to point that out. But like not a lot of guys do that. But he very he does that maybe the most aggressively of any defensive mind, maybe outside of ballot check, and he's going to be very. Aggressive in using using scheme and doing things and trying to make the offense play without some of its best players and do things that it's uncomfortable billing so that I think could work to the benefit of Dallas Goddard the bears. This is something that warrant sharp pointed out to me bears have faced one of the lowest rates of two tight end sets in the NFL this year. And they also I think they faced the absolute lowest rate of three tight end sets in the NFL this year. And you know, the eagles will have drives where they will use thirteen personnel. Three tight end sets for an entire series. And so I think that that's an interesting dynamic in this game. A third tight end would be Richard Rodgers. We don't really wanna mess with him and fantasy but that would get Dallas Goddard on the field. More and Dallas Qatar is he's going to be an absolute stud in the league. I know he didn't have a bunch of big games. He had a few big games, but he would be an intriguing sleater sleeper on a bad tight end slate in the receiver core talked about alshon behind Erz and Al Sean for both air yards and targets during Nick foles weeks. Fifteen through seventeen starts was Nelson Agla and Nelson Igor also led the team in slot routes during that time the bears lost their slot corner. Bryce Callaghan to a broken leg in week fourteen. And as they have acquired after they acquired golden Tate, which has been a disaster as we've discussed and he still been on the field. And when he's on the field. I mean, no, they'll manufacturer some targets to him for sure. But I don't think you really wanna use them in fantasy. You can always try to get cute, and maybe it'll work, but with but since they've acquired him Nelson Agla running his eight dot has has gone up a running some deeper routes and he's made some big plays down the football field bears. Hardly give up any big place. But you know, a lot of this stuff comes down to opportunity. Nelson. Adler is a guy that probably people are just not going to use in DFS, but his opportunity has been pretty strong SUV could find him at a decent price. I think he's a guy. We're taking a shot on in the backfield. It's just been a three man rotation. Wendell Smallwood Darren sproles, Josh Adams. I think if I was gonna pick someone I would probably go with sproles he has been playing over the last three games. Forty one percent of the snaps. He's used most in the passing game. And you know, it passing game gives you better big play opportunities than the running game. Josh Adams is all running game. Wendell Smallwood is mostly running game that can do a little bit of both. But he's also been his usage has been super inconsistent. He had pretty good usage in we sixteen nothing in week seventeen. And then last week came back with pretty good usage. So just don't know what we're going to get with him. But I think I would go with Darren sproles on the bear side. And this'll be the last team that we discuss Mitchell Trubisky is awfully interesting as a play and. A big reason for that is that the the eagles really struggle to defend mobile quarterbacks. And it's not because they're giving up like one hundred yard rushing games to to mobile quarterbacks. It's because these quarterbacks have been having success both on the ground and in the air against Philadelphia. And it was you know to Shawn Watson and week sixteen. It was the number two overall famous quarterback. It was a little bit earlier on it was it was docked Prescott, you know, the the week before he he had he was the number one overall fantasy quarterback. He was also the number nine fantasy overall quarter overall fantasy quarterback when these teams played before that Cam Newton was a number three overall famous quarterback against the eagles. Marcus mariota was the number seven overall finish a quarterback against eagles. Blake Bortles number twelve overall fantasy quarterback against the eagles. So. So. You know, the these quarterbacks that can move have been giving the eagles problems and Mitchell Trubisky can move one prop just bed if you can find this prop. He's been set at twenty and.

"I know he's, but the he is essentially the bears version of Darren sproles, and he is a guy who can create a lot of problems for the Philadelphia defense who is playing a lot better right now. You know, it's and the key is going to be can they get to Mitchell Trubisky enough? So that. They can make him that they can force him into some mistakes of their own their own. Like, you mentioned the eagles defense has done a better job forcing turnovers lately, and that has been a huge help. But getting the defensive line getting more pressure on the quarterback has also been really big. And I know that the the Chicago offense is very similar to the type of that the eagles run a lot of our PEOs in there. A lot of the the short passing game. Lot of the the shallow crossers and throws into the flat. And that means that you're Bisky will probably be getting the ball out quickly as well. And so it's going to be a challenge for this. Eagles defence to generate the kind of pressure necessary to get to Trubisky before he gets the ball out. But again, I think the inexperience of Trubisky, and you know, maybe Jim Schwartz has something up his sleeve that can give Trubisky. A look that. He hasn't seen before that's going to be a big key here to stopping the offense because they do have some weapons on the outside. Beal Jalen Robinson is a really good wide receiver. He's he he can be very. Dangerous if you had a better quarterback he'd probably have better numbers this year. But. Robinson is a guided definitely keep an eye on in addition to to Rico in and and in our old friend, Trey Burton, I think Trey Burton is gonna see a lot of action across the middle of the field on Sundays well Robinson's ago, obviously get you deep, you know, cutting up is that big playability leads the bears and big plays receiving this year thirteen point seven yards per -ception average. So that's something. That's definitely going to test needles defense that really has cut down on giving up. Those big plays recently another big part of their success in this one just kind of looking again at this bears offense the offensive line. It is a pretty solid unit. I mean, the they rank they're thirty sex rank tied for eighth fewest football outsiders. They ranked the bear seventh best in justed sacrilege. So they're doing a good job overall protecting Trubisky. But I mean again when you just look at Mitchell as he wants to. He called just don't. Bye bye. That no. Rich, man, you know, I mean, maybe win, but. I just don't trust him. Like, I just comes down to that to me. I just feel like he's going to make a mistake at some point. It just it feels like that's going to be the case, especially with this being his first playoff game. And the fact that the bears run game they rank and they're the bears run blocking ranks twenty eighth. They're four point one yards precarious tied for twenty seventh. Jordan Howard who kinda gets a little bit more hype that might deserve. He's averaging three point seven yards carry as very good three cone is much better, obviously. But he's you know, he's not a lead back as much as he is a factor as a receiver. So I just don't think the bears are really going to be able to get this run game going, and that's what eagles want. They don't want you to be able to run the ball. They want you to have to pass a game long because that gives them a chance for their pass rushers to go and make a play and they've been doing that recently butter Cox has been unstoppable against that. As was last week. So I think that plays into the hands that they can stop the run here. Nine kind of T O. Off on Trubisky. That's what they that's what they need. And that's what they want to get in this game. And now with all that said, the one thing about Trubisky that you do kind of have to worry about is..

"Because look the bears aren't going to have too many. He plays probably where there are almost turnovers. It'd be like that like they're going to capitalize on these opportunities. If you give it to them and all of a sudden note now, you're giving the offense which doesn't scare you a lot extra possessions. And that's going to be tough. Because all of a sudden now, okay, you have to match that again going up against this tough bears defense. I think turnovers are such a huge thing to kinda be focusing on this week. You just can't have those careless mistakes against this bears team. But like you mentioned giving Nick foles time to throw in the pocket where he's not harassed is going to be too key is going to be the key to all this and getting you know, continued great play from Jason Kelsey on the inside is going to be huge. Brandon Brooks has been unbelievable this year Isaac Sam also being in there as well there. They have to deal with the key Hicks who's a monster in the middle as well. So I mean, this is this is it you like you said this bears defense that is better than the Texans defense. The eagles faces two couple of weeks ago. We did mention that voles has been getting rid of the ball super-quick. Over the last three games. And it's really helped. He's thrown over nine hundred sixty yards passing which is the most over the last three games. He's got a a league best seventy seven percent completion rates. I in yards per attempt. He's I in net yards per pass play. So I mean, if you can get Nick foles time he needs. He they're going to go back to the short passing game. Because this is a bears defense that stuff's the run is going to be like the Texans game where you're probably not going to be able to run Josh Adams all that much or Wendell Smallwood. I I predicted a big game for Darren sproles a couple of weeks ago against the Texans. And I'll do the same thing again, Chicago. I think I think they're going to have to use Darren sproles a lot out of the backfield as a runner, and I'm pardon me as a receiver, and we did see that he broke a couple of runs against the Texans. But that's because he was mostly being viewed as a receiving threat out of the backfield. So yeah, I think that's how the eagles are going to have to move the ball in short chunks are going to have to use. They're going to have to use Darren sproles, and they're gonna have to use Zakar tes short over the middle allot to get those. Four and five yard gains. And and that's you know, that's the form of the way the offense played against the Texans is pretty much how you have to do it against Chicago as well. As not you're going to have to get the ball out quick that's imperative you just give them time. You can't give Khalil Mack time and time to to get after it and blindside sag Nick foles stripped the bottom his hands. You can't do that. And that's the be easier said than done. Sometimes I mean, you know, the bears are going to be expecting that. I'm sure, but you look at what the eagles did against Washington who have an awesome defense. They have some talent of front and the way that they were able to just now they're not going to be able to do it the way they did against Washington because to have a nineteen play eleven minute. I was in Saint like Dr. Crazy. That's just not going to be able to do that. But I mean, you kind of want that thing would be nice to kinda dessino to control the clock there and kind of dismiss audibly move down. And in kinda get the points where you can now I'm not saying aggressive, but you know, just to kinda, you know, make the most of your opportunities in this game. I think it'll be really important. It's just, you know, now say all this, and we talk about this tough there bears defense..

"I mean, I don't think I don't anticipate them to be overwhelmed by the moment. They've got some guys that have been there and done that before Trey Burton who you talk to every week has you know, was the defending Super Bowl champs. They've got some guys with some experience. But you know, I mean, I don't think it'll be too big for them. I love mean the defense. Go out there and play the game you're game. And there's a really good chance. You're gonna win. I mean, one of your games, you know, there have been some anomalies air the giants game and other games. Do what you do. Really? Well, and you've got a seventy five percent chance to win. I love all of that stuff. I love on offense at your offensive line is playing their best football. I love that you've gotten more out of the running game. So you're more balanced. I love the Mitchell has been asked to do last, but has been more efficient. I mean, if you if he plays the way he's played the last three weeks you can win the Super Bowl. I mean in an attribute a lot of how we've seen him play to him and it continuing to grow. But this coach is really good at doing stuff protecting. Yeah. I mean ball come out quick Mitch come on take care of the football. If you take chances we're going to take him down the sideline or we're gonna take him. You know, and I don't care if you throw it out of bounds or blast everybody, but you're not gonna throw interceptions. So I mean ball securities is at a premium here. Look, I think this comes down to three things defense player game and get to false. I mean, they've got their full complement of receivers back. It's a veteran offensive line. But they've given up forty sacks this year. They got Darren sproles back the kid from from Notre Dame is playing well small. Is back. They do some decent stuff offensively ball's coming out quick. But you could get to Nick foles because I heard you talk and he's not he's he's he's not allusive. And he's he's banged up. So play your game pressure.
