"Could even use us to say like guys. Not nothing is changing until this gets resolved. And maybe Adams will talk like that on Thursday, but I don't really expect it to be very forceful. You know, I don't know if it's been resolved. But if if that were the fundamental point, don't you agree like, wouldn't Elliott Friedman and Darren Dreger on W g r every week be saying we can't? We're not getting off the ground here until Michael and the Sabres or through arbitration or whatever come to a deal on his on his rehab on his injury. I think that that makes a lot of sense. Yeah, yeah, I mean, it's it's definitely a distinct Possibility. You'd be hearing that if there was real real worry about it. Yeah, So maybe the point is, maybe there isn't And you know it's another way for my house of cards theory to fold, uh, in on itself, because, but, you know, I I'm real interested to hear what I mean. I'm glad for Don Granato. I like the choice. I was never not in favor of the choice. I I liked the you know, rummaging around and talking to all these people, and we've covered that many times like I I think even just for appearance's sake, the guy like it from a like a realistic Learn something about your team from However many 10 12 how many different coaching candidates? You talked to get assessments from people about what they think about you and see if you learn something that you you can find useful. Great, Okay? Um, I think just from pure appearances if they had just hired Don Granada without doing that. I think it would have just looked like a very savory cost effective. This is good enough move when you know the reality, is they? Yes. A lot of players improve their individual play. The team's results were not real good. They were better than they had been. But you know, the guy was Hired in the midst of an 18 game losing streak. So you know there was nowhere to go but up, So of course they improved. Um, it is not a criticism of the higher It's just I think if the Sabres have made this official on, you know, when does the season end? If they had done this before Memorial Day, even It might have looked like they were just settling for whatever. And so I don't know how important or impactful. All the interviews were, but they avoid the appearance of just settling for the guy who won Whatever government games. Don Granato one, and I think that that might Well, might I think it should, and I I hope it does matter to them. I think there is another side to that coin. I think that that is sort of normally true. What Teams want. I think it sounded every time like that's what the Sabres were here for when they used Gregor Gregor rather and Friedman in their ways, which is all guys, I mean, this we're still at first base. There are this this guy's in Europe and they can't get to him. We're waiting on the Rangers. The Sabres would always want you. This is sort of the default position that teams end up at or start at, I guess and end up at which is like what you just said, like they want to make sure you think they're doing their work. Right. I mean, a team that just completely gutted. It's Hockey Department to save money was doing the utmost to research coaches. Okay, fine. Think maybe, And I don't even really mean to question that right now. My point is, the other side of that is like what I have needed from the Sabres lately. I've been tied up. Because I want I want to get going. You know, I know that the season isn't even over yet. And I know that you do want to talk to some other coaches. What did Darren Dreger say? Oh, they've talked to talk it at least twice a moment. 67 times. Who knows? I mean, at least we got to make sure you know how thorough this is all that What I need from the Sabres. His action And even if it means trading Jack Eichel, which is like sort of a hideous thing. In and of itself. Just do it. And if I were they on the matter of Granado, I think I would have been ready the first day. With. Okay. This guy works for what we're doing right now or if not the first day. I mean, that's not. I don't mean that so specifically, just like I wouldn't have wanted to sort of fixate on Looking like it's going to take a long time. Let me say here, too. I'm not sure that's what they did like what? The premise that we started with here, as was and and has been recently figure out what the bottom line is with Jack. Before you have you do this? And so that probably took time, right? That's if you want to give the benefit the Dow. I think that's probably most of why it took them three months. You know from they weren't going to make they didn't need to make Granado official like before the season was over. But I think like decisiveness is worth something extra. For them right now, And if you have people, I'll end this point with this if you have people who can sell it. Then I don't think you have to be in such a terrible place, And I think Adam's and Granado are both people who can sell it. I don't think Terry Pegula is and I think they know that which is why we've heard from him like five times in 10 years, but I think the GM and the coach of both In relatively small samples. Demonstrated that they can make a point. And that's really why I'm on board with both guys. Mhm is. Adams is not afraid of his shadow with those press conferences. He's got an awful team and he's got an awful situation and he's gonna have to sell Eichel and he's got ownership that tells them who knows what on a given day. But I think he comes off pretty well. And so does Granado. Granado was very effective. We both agreed He was very effective every week on the station during the season, explaining what he thought of players and what his strategies were things like that. Yeah, I like I like how he sounded about the game. You know, more than even his results, because, like I said, his results weren't great. They were just better than they had been. And again individuals did play much better, like Joe a little while ago. Um, you know, posted and maybe he did this some time ago, but I saw it again today, the pace that guys would have been on 82 game season Playing for Granada, which again is what roughly half of 56 games is about. What? What? He what he got. And you know you had guys on I'm pretty hearty paces Gold production wise. And so I recognize that and appreciate that, But yeah, Granado, he I don't think he hit a sour note One time talking either with Howard and Jeremy in the mornings or, you know, before or after hockey games. I really liked how he sounded. Um, you know, I I think it will be something to keep an eye on just how, uh, principal he is about some of the things that he said that appealed to us about entertaining hockey and attacking and all these different things. I think I made this point at one point late in the season. I think that sounds really good, and I think it's a lot more comfortable for any coach. To implement that sort of style. When you have no chance, like the stakes you are playing for our You're not even you don't even have a chance to even your record. You know, you're just you're so far behind your buried and I think when there are real stakes, the standings matter. At some point, I would hope with Dan Granado is their coach. They will play games. That you know that will be. It will be. Something will be thinking about. And I just wonder if if the you know, loose and free and attack in entertaining hockey and have fun and all that stuff. Sticks or if the system and playing defense and being responsible become more frequently mentioned when you know they're battling for eighth place or something. Well, that's Fair. I mean, that's what happens a lot. But he you know here. Here's both of us, hoping it doesn't turn into that. Right. He has he'll have a team. Probably. I mean, if I call trades, if, like illustrated, there's just no question about this. There might not be anyway. He'll have a team where the standards are going to be very different, you know, meaning low. For relatively speaking for this league like he he is not nobody unless maybe his boss. Is going to demand of him that he grind his way into the eighth seed or something like that's not what that's how the whole thing started..

"I don't know it was going to win on the same way. I don't know who's going to that did get easier last couple years. No. Right, usually like no, they're not. Probably not. You could Paul you could have, you know, at least stuck your neck out a little bit. I mean, it was easier to predict this team that it has been other times it has, but they surprise you every now and that's right and win a game that they weren't supposed to, or whatever. And A decent so, uh, that's hockey. Yeah. Well, um, here we are again without any sort of Exactly any sort of development. We didn't just listen to these comments from Darren Dreger about how he thought he says he thought there could have been an announcement for Granado this week. Paul. It sounds from listening to him like Coach Search is over. And that's what I had told you on. Um, yesterday. I think it was two days ago that Had been hearing the same thing that, uh, you know, it probably could come down this week and somewhere, expecting it to Um I too would say the same thing. What would the holdup be? The only hold up would be as if Number one. You wanted to talk to one of the assistant coaches there in the final Now. Final three. When we talked last time it was final four. Or, you know, there's some type of a hold up in the guy you've chosen who is not named Granado and maybe a contract thing or something like that. You know that you're that you're trying to get all figured out. So, but I too believe that you know, it probably will be Don Granado and, uh, I won't say I'm surprised They didn't announce this week. Not nothing, really in the in sports surprises me too much anymore. Um, but, yeah, it's it's getting down to it and you've done your due diligence. You've done your interviews. Now It's time to move forward Paul and your experience covering these sorts of things. Would would you expect to that? The Sabres in talking with You know who matter? I guess they could decide who they want to disclose this to exactly amongst the candidates, and it sounds like they've talked to quite a quite a large number of guys about this job. Um, what would you think they would be divulging like, Look, we're going to trade Jack. Michael here. Here's what we're hoping to get. Or maybe even not even telling him what? We're hoping to get What? We're going to trade him. Like, Don't don't come in here. We shouldn't be talking about you taking this job or us hiring you for this job. With you thinking you're going to get to coach Jack like a well, maybe even Sam Reinhart. I don't know how far you want to go down the list. Wrist align is another one who's in the last year and sounds like, you know, he certainly welcome getting out of here. So when Kevin Adams says, we want guys who want to be here, I feel like those three guys very obviously are not not in line with that, Um, would they be telling these candidates That up front or do you think that they would be playing it more conservatively? I don't even think they'd have to. I think it's fairly well known that the Sabres have decided they're trading Jack Eichel. Now that could change. How How could that change? Well, you don't get fair value. Well, then you don't trade Jack Eichel. I mean, unless you're not a very good GM. But if you're good GM and you can't get fair value, then Jack Eichel's just going to have to suck it up and Play here or whatever. They're going to have to go to some sort of arbitration on the injury or whatever move forward, But I still will staunchly maintained. You just don't Take the best offer available, but you know they've made the decision that they want to move on from Jack Eichel, and he does not fit what Adam's vision is for this team, and, uh, So you know that's that's what they're going to try to do, And I think that's fairly well known knowledge. I don't think Adams would have to spell it out for somebody, but I'm sure he will be happy to in that type of an interview situation. Now next week if they introduced Granado. Well, we should we expect All parties to maintain that they haven't decided on that yet, right? Because they're not going to say I don't know how. I don't know how Adams will word it. But I doubt he would say we have decided to trade Jack Eichel. But he would fight because I don't remember. I asked him. I said, We're asking the wrong question here. We keep asking you. Michaels asked to be traded. Have you decided you're going to trade Eichel? He didn't say no right. He kind of danced around it somewhat. But it didn't say no, that's when he got into. You know, we want players here that want to be here, and that's how we're going to build this club and you know when you know how he went through the whole thing that way. So you know, he'll find a way to get around that, But, yeah, I say nothing surprised me That was shocked me if he came out, said No. We've decided trade Jack Eichel. Guys. If you'll indulge me for a moment, I just had a thought. It's It's something that's popped into my head a couple of different times, while the three of us have been talking over the last couple of weeks here Um, is it possible that the holed up in an announcement on the head coach even specifically on Granado, his head coach? Is because they don't want to deal with questions about Eichel or in even even for not just the trade, but his health, right? I mean, we we We're well past that deadline. We last time, Kevin Adams spoke, He said they'd have information to share. Soon and we're three weeks past soon here, I think, um so like, I wonder if they're just trying to avoid having to sit there and fend off speculation about both Iculs health status and his trade status. You know, it's 11 reason why you might want to wait to hire your coach until after Eichel is traded like Dreger said Today, he thinks that they'll hire the coach before Iculs traded one reason the way it is to avoid having to answer questions about Eichel. 100% and you as you said, and I think it's an excellent topic an excellent point. Especially if it's don Granado. What's the rush? If you've decided to hire don Granada and you've told him so?.

"Now the instigators presented by Seneca Resorts and casinos. Nothing else comes close. Try to be the good guy. You know what I mean? Instigators. W gr 5 50 msg Darren Dreger joins us here as he always does now. Fridays at 11 o'clock tsn hockey insider. And he's at Darren Dragger on Twitter, and he's got a lot of knowledge in that head of his, but also very sarcastic. And I don't like it Sometimes I don't. I don't like it because you're very good at it. You got me last week. You took the bait PD and you know, and I did. And then just now, you know, I tried to do the right thing. Ladies and John, if you're listening, drugs jumps out, and I just said Dan Drags. I don't know if you guys are mad tray stand dan drugs and, uh, no, no, never met never met before And then I've come to learn. They go back 25 years and I'm just kind of like, you know. Just trying to 45 45 years. He's 45 just trying to do the right thing and be like, Hey, look, and I appreciate that, And you're right. Sarcasm doesn't necessarily translate often electronically right? So, but we can see each other. So I thought you'd get it instantly. But we've all come into those situations where you've met somebody like maybe 34 times before and you get in that circle and what you just did PT with Dan and I are you okay? Rigs have you ever met? So and so? And whoever Solan so says, Hey, Darren. Nice to meet you. Yeah, In fact, we've We've met three or four times in the past, and you've all probably all been together before you go out for sure. I mean, that's that's happened to me a bunch of times and NHL circles. Darren wasn't my Darren was at my third wedding, but not the fourth. I'll be there for the theft on. Not many people came to the fourth. Yeah. Uh, why were you related to the bride? I learned. I'm kidding. He wasn't I know. I know. And Sabres made some news here, right, guys. You see that? Look at that. They're dead. Yeah, handing J. J J a good sign. Yeah. Maternal entry level deal. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, that did that Just happen Now That's Yeah, That's the news. Oh, really? I didn't even that's what happens when you go to the bathroom at the break. You come back and you don't You don't catch all the news when I was deflecting. Come on. I'm too proud of my topic tonight. I really thought you were deflecting. I really thought you were. Well, that's interesting news. Does he play next year? That's up to you guys to figure out. I mean, he certainly developing in that trend. Uh, I'm always careful. I think we all are collectively with young players, but see how he looks in camps, see how he looks. If there's a meaningful preseason, and then you go from there, but no different than any other team that's going through a phase. Call it whatever you will transition Renovation. Whatever we're gonna call the Buffalo. You've got to be patient with these young guys. They've been patient with other younger players. So the factories getting signed bodes well for him fitting in at some point, but I'm not sure we're ready to give him a spot yet. Dregs. How does that work like? Next year, DHL announced 72 or 76 game season, the teams were able to select which one he wanted to play. I think out West they play 68. This year, we had some young junior players playing in the American League now, Jack Quinn, for example, I think Is eligible to play in the a child because he's going to be an over ager and junior, so that doesn't matter. But what about those guys? The 18 year olds that played in the H L a little bit. They all have to go back to juniors as 19 year olds next year. There's not going to be, uh, loophole that they can utilize Sabam continue playing the American League. I don't think so, Marty. I'm not entirely sure that that's been signed off. You know, 100%. Um and I feel both ways here. You know, I I'm thinking of a kid. Well, Clinton by field for the Los Angeles Kings, right? A high pick played the majority of the season. The American made came up at the end of the regular season with the L A Kings and look fine. Cole Perfetti, you know with the 10th pick overall of the Winnipeg Jets played the entire season with the Manitoba Moose then gets brought up and place for team. Canada wins gold. The men's world in in la FIA. So in saying all of that, how much more does do those kids have to prove at the junior level, and does it stunk their development professionally? I think you have a sound case. If you're the NHL club may be released that player back to the world Juniors see how things are going around Christmas, But again, I don't know if we're having this conversation that that's been locked and loaded yet, But I also understand the junior hockey perspective as well, Right. I mean those kids, especially coming off a year, where the Ontario Hockey League didn't place. I mean, they're going to need every marketing every marketing ploy that they can bring every attractive commodity to get fans back in the building and safe to do so. So if it hasn't been decided there's still an ongoing push from major junior hockey. Um, sure. Instigators Darren Dreger joining us here, as he always does Friday at 11 o'clock, So let's get into the saber stuff. The big saver stuff that's great for Peterka, and you know we're excited about his future here. But who's going to be the coach? What's going on with Jack? I don't want to throw it all on you at once. So let's start. Where's the coaching search? That's the easiest one for everything. Yeah, it's it's still in Phase one, and what phase one is all about is just the initial interview process right And the reason it's taken this long is Because of the candidates that the world men's championship. No decision out of New York yet on Gerard Blunt, I'm sure that there are others who participated at the men's worlds that Kevin Adams and the Buffalo Sabres want to connect with need permission to do that. Then you look at the Stanley Cup playoffs now that the semi finals have been set. Maybe there are coaches, assistant coaches, people who were involved in organizations that Adams Needs permission to get to so That process has been drawn out a little bit. But I think that the discussions with that group is going to wrap up relatively soon. And then you go into Phase two, which is weeding down the list and then getting into your second and even your third interviews if necessary. Don Granado, as has been speculated by Buffalo media. Remains a front runner. There's no doubt about that. Has he been offered the job? No, he hasn't. Might he be offered the job? I guess it's fair to assume he might be. Lot, according to my sources, which are pretty good. Um, they're going through this process. They have not had not gotten to a point yet where they're offering anyone the job at this stage. I'm wondering with the news out of Columbus, and you can maybe speak Darren, too? You know whether this even factors in but you know there's there's so many factors, obviously for the Sabres going forward, and a lot of them have to do with how things were dealt with in the past when they make a decision like this, whether it be experienced coaches, whether it be assistant coaches who have never been head coaches before. You know, there's a path that's been taken here that I'm sure they don't want to have something, you know, kind of have history repeat itself again, and it's a very delicate time for the franchise. But when you see a team like Columbus or if other teams start going down this road of assistant coaches who they feel have early opportunities whether it be on the bench with John Tortorella. Previously, American Hockey League coaches does it open the door a little bit more to explaining to fans who might want experienced coaches. Coming into certain teams situations and say, Look, maybe the trend around the league is going to start leaning to coaches that you necessarily aren't as familiar with but who have earned the opportunity like a don Granado. Yeah, you know, I want to resist the idea of a copycat sort of analysis here..

"Now that we are in June, and if you think Well, you still have, you know the month of June but July August September like you need to get healthy for the season is is that pressing right now? I think it has to be Marty and I haven't talked to Peter or Jack specifically about that. But I will go back. Six weeks eight weeks ago, when I was pretty strong than others, and reporting on this were pretty strong in the belief that Jack was going to have the surgery in early May. And and that didn't happen. And the reason why they wanted to have the surgery in early May was for exactly what you've just outlined. I mean, you know, Michael was fed up with not being healthy this season. Um and and felt like this was part of his health that he could expedite a process to get healthy so that he could get training again sooner rather than later. So if they decide that, Okay, Well, the conventional means isn't working. We agree now, with the assessment from the secondary group of specialists that provided a second opinion, and he has the surgery. Well, best case scenario. What are you talking about? Six weeks minimum recovery before he can get back to doing what he would normally do in an off season, so Without talking specifically to Jack. I can't imagine that he isn't a little bit concerned, if not a lot concerned about the fact that they don't have a conclusion in the direction and he's not able to do what he would normally do in training. I think there's still a lot of time. Be honest with. Yeah. I mean, if you're looking at six weeks, even even, uh, you know, eight weeks. You know, you could be looking at a July and in August, uh, you know recovery and then he still has a good solid month and a half because the season is starting later this year than normal. There's there's lots of time for Jack to make sure that he's he's ready for the start of the season. Yeah. And so I don't know why. There was just an elevated sense of time. Pressure. Um, again going back a couple of months ago, but it was just maybe he was just To put that behind him, you know, and and focus on everything that he has to do to get to that point where he's training and he's healthy. But your right ribs I mean worst case scenario. Look, they're not dragging it out. Buffalo isn't purposely dragging this out so that they can get their way here and go down the medical path it that they prefer, Um they want what's best for Jack and what's best for the club. They just haven't been able to ascertain medically what That is just yet, but I mean, we have to be talking about days here before that final decision was made. It all depends to and whose timetable is The day one of the season is the team not as concerned about him starting at the start of the season. Um Or is the player more concerned because of the team sitting there saying, Look, I mean, we'd rather you try the conservative approach here. Let's try to let it heal. Naturally, if it can, And then if we need to have surgery when we lose October, then you know what, So beat. At least we Least we exhausted all the the avenues that to maybe get it right, right. But there's also a layer to this that we're not considering. And that's you know, Jack Eichel's future in Buffalo period and if if there's even a little bit of an appetite to look at the trade interest this off season normally The healthiest part of the big ticket trade items comes out around the draft. Well, if clubs are stepping up, and they're going to pay the price that Kevin Adams and the Buffalo Sabres are going to need, and we've talked about this, and we debate debated what that might be. Teams are going to do that, if they're not 100% certain the direction of Jack Eichel's health and I don't know how clubs would view this, whether they're more comfortable with again. The more conventional approach versus Somewhat experimental surgical procedure that is, but not in other sports, just not at the National Hockey League level. But his health based on sources that I've talked to is a big concern and a big issue for clubs that might have some interest. We'll take a pause in our conversation from the instigators this morning with Darren Dreger and when we come back We'll hear more about what's going on with the Sabres and also the playoffs, the mark Scheifele suspension.

"Are best of edition of the nightcap. Playing back the best of what we heard on the station. Throughout the week. We hear from Aaron shots in the first segment got some football in. Now, Let's change gears to hockey a lot going on with the Sabres. The draft lottery the first overall pick the coach search all that's going on with Jack Eichel in his neck injury. Let's get more of an insider look from T s sins. Darren Dreger, who was on with Andrew Peters and Craig Reveille on Friday morning. If you don't follow him on Twitter, he's at Darren Dragger on Twitter and you know, he's a TSN hockey insider. And about five minutes ago, he tweeted. About to jump on with my pals. The instigators will chat about the Sabres coaching search. Rikard Gronberg, head coach of the Zurich Lions, has been interviewed for the Buffalo job. Good coach. Good morning, Daryn. Horia. I'm doing well. Good morning, guys. So what's up? How's everything going? Don't things are going well, Yeah, enjoying the playoffs for the most part trying to stay on top of, uh, you know, the coaching search and everything that's going on, not just in buffalo Butt. Around the league, and I don't know how surprised you guys would be that Rikard Gronberg would be, uh, interviewed by the Buffalo Sabres. Probably very little. I mean, he's been interviewed by other NHL clubs, I think, most recently, the New Jersey Devils. Real good coach. No question about that long time Swedish national coach. He's been around some top notch players. Nick leads from Henrik Zetterberg go down the list right of all the Swedish great players that He's uh he's been around and his coach more recently. He's been with the Zurich Lions and and is highly highly regarded, frankly. I'm surprised that he hasn't got an NHL head coaching job to this point of his career almost 53 years old. He's got North American experience. He played college hockey at Saint Cloud in Minnesota. So he understands the North American game. Very, very well. So, um, I I would expect that Kevin Adams and Jason Karmanos. Whoever were involved in the interview process would have found him to be impressive because that's the feedback that I've gotten from. Other NHL clubs over the years, so all we can do is throw them in the mix and ultimately will see where the process takes Kevin Adams and the Sabres in their final decisions. Who else is in the mix? Now? We talked about talk it. Obviously Don Granado, Um, U mass coach. What's his name? Greg? Colonel. I think he was one of them like who else is in the mix new names coming up or names that are standing out right now? No. And again, I wouldn't say it's early in the process. You know, they're probably at a point now where they feel like Um, they they basically seeing everything that they need to see. Now, there might have interesting coaches who are still on benches. You know that. We don't know why I've got that feedback from some other clubs or in the coaching search, waiting to see what happens. Um, so I I can't be certain as to who would be the front runner beyond Don Granado? Of course, who We've talked about week after week. Deservedly being you know, in the upper echelon of of the process. But to just just give Dr Gronberg guess, uh for a second I think he's reached a point in his career. I haven't dealt with him directly, but where he might even consider coming over as an associate coach, and that would intrigue me if I were Kevin Adams and and management, the Buffalo Sabres. You know, Donna Granado has shown enough. In the short period of time that he deserves the head coaching opportunity, but you want to bring in something new. Something different in the next Gronberg would be right up there. Rick talk it. I mean, it feels like he's just kind of jumping from one airplane to another, isn't he? You know, he's he's interviewed a couple of times with the New York Rangers. So as Gerard Gallant, his coaching team Canada at least twice. With the New York Rangers, and I'm sure Buffalo is circling back on these guys as well. But you know, beyond what we already know, Marty, I don't think that there are any surprises at this point. Instigators Darren Dreger joining us here, as he always does. On Friday. Now, at a new time at 11 o'clock, we had Kevin on, um last hour, and we did not ask him about Jack's situation. Jackson Neck because you know what he's not going to tell us anything. Um, it's and we're going to be wasting a question. And wasting his time so What do you know? That's why we That's why we like to ask you these questions because you find these things out. And there are, uh there at a very interesting timetable. Right now. They are. They have not made a decision yet on what the ultimate path for recovery is right. Is that again, the more traditional means of just continuing to treatment. Working with the medical staff and and just trying to heal naturally or the surgical route. They have not made that decision. My understanding is That the Buffalo Sabres had a bunch of conversations in the past. Few days this week, certainly gathering all the most up to date information from doctors and again the medical stuff and sources indicate that Adams also met in person. Um, with Jack Eichel's agent, and and that I believe happened as early as yesterday. So the communication is regular. And if nothing else, I think that's a positive step right because it kind of felt like during Jack's exit interview. That this was headed in a nasty direction. And I think things have settled down a little bit because both sides can appreciate, uh, that that the work that needs to get done moving forward here has to be in the best interests of both Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres organizations, So the fact that they're in constant communication is a good sign again. Lots of dialogue this week with the medical group involved with Michael's agent, Peter Fish, but no final decision on ultimately what direction they're going to take. It's time starting to be a pressing issue with that, as well..

"Could be a fit there. There could be certainly Make some boxes from both teams perspective. But Columbus is going to be a mover and a shaker. I think That is Darren Dreger from earlier with the instigators. Again. There's a lot I mean, so funny, Paul every now and then I'll say it. We had Mike Morial on earlier and you know, I lay out the situation. No coach. We don't have any NHL goal is under contract and their two best offensive players probably want to be traded. But other than that, everything's fine. And, like Joe said something maybe while sale was still on with us. That alluded to the same thing when you when you hear it all at once. It's just There's so much that has to be. It's hard for me to fathom this team just turning around anytime soon. Because they're so much that has to be done, right. You've got to get a lot of stuff, right? You're gonna have to Nail the return on a couple of very, very important trades. You're gonna have to nail the development of this pick. If you make it. You're gonna have to nail getting goalies in here. Maybe the goalies are part of one of those trades or something. I don't know. We'll see. So maybe these things intersect, but And you got to hire a coach, and there's just so much stuff to get right. And man, it seems very daunting right now. Oh, Darrin was talking about with Columbus. I think you could think about Getting that, right? I'll never forget. You know, if you know they had cameras at the you know, you saw it later not live at the draft, but How the Sabres all celebrated when Seth Jones was taken, leaving Rasmus crystalline and the guy they wanted all along on the board. Um, it was just like, Excuse me, really? At that time, I'm thinking, why would you want Rasmus Crystalline and over Seth Jones? I mean, it's like, all right. They took Jones in there like shaking hands with each other and all right guys still on the board, and it's like, you know, fantastic. It's great. Um But, you know What you know you could become get cute and Alright they they want Michael Now you're probably not going to get the center man You want out of that. But you might get one of their two goal tenders. It would have to be your choice. If I'm the sabers. I take the goaltender I want I take Seth Jones and I take your number one pick. And you know, you can have Jack Eichel type of a thing. Uh, maybe if you know, all right. You with the Sabres have two seconds so you can have one of our seconds or whatever. Yeah. You know if you want to, but if you want to get, you know, cute that way. I mean, you're getting a really, really good defenseman. And Seth Jones. You know what you're getting there. You're getting your get a good goaltender. You know what you're getting there, and, uh, you know, just get an extra number one pick out of it. Yeah, yeah. That does Columbus do that, you know, wanting because they desperately wanted number one center for line a Right and and Jones. Jones has made it known He's not going to sign a contract extension, so he's some version of wrist aligning her Reinhardt here, right? You've got him for one more year and then you're probably going to lose him for nothing. If you don't get proactive about it. Well, you would have to have pretty good knowledge that He'd be willing to sign a contract with sure you can't make that trade, not knowing he's willing to stay. Right. Uh or if it's up in the air, or you got to prove yourself there. Well, we'll see if he likes buffalo. No, no, no. No. If you're if you're doing something like that, you it has to be players that are going to be here and not not. You're not looking to trade him at the trade deadline because they're leaving. Yeah. Before this year, I you know, before this year, I don't think we would have been talking about Jack Eichel having this philosophical medical divide with the favors, So I mean, there's a lot of things we wouldn't have been saying. Um, I've loved Jones. He had a very weird year. And by weird, I mean bad. I mean, there are a bad team, but he had teammates all over the place that outperformed him by a lot. And so I don't know what's going on there. If it's just an outlier, weird, bad season or what? But I'm a little cautious about him being the like the centerpiece of of that trade, just because of that, like he could be just going the wrong way. And that could be problematic. I think Um, if you are basing it on the reputation because he's been one of my favorite players in the league to watch for years, and this year, he just sort of fell off the map. I don't know. I don't I don't know why I but he had he had a tough year. I felt Lot of those players and I don't I'm not saying Seth Jones was one of them, but it would have an effect on him. I thought a lot of players on that team quit on Tortorella. Mhm. I think they decided. We do not need this guy here anymore. We're tired of them. Some of them wanted out and I just got the impression that they basically Plain plain and simply quit on him. Right, so and as I said, I'm not. I'm not accusing Jones of that. But if you've got five or six guys who have quit on Tortorella I mean, um what's off? Got off. What's his name? We got traded to to, Uh okay. Yeah. Yeah. He quit on him. I mean, watch some of the place he was making. Yeah, No, I know. Yeah. Absolutely. Quit on him, You know, and he's in this. He's invisible in Winnipeg, isn't he? Yeah. And Lina quit on him. Once he showed up there, Yeah. You know, so I wouldn't be extremely worried about that because I don't think Seth Jones has hit the age that You know he's over the hill. He hasn't hit the Kyle up. Also 30 years old ranger that Jeff Skinner 29 to 30 year old range. You know where it seems like, you know, their careers are behind them. Right? So Yeah, he's risking Lyman's age. Same draft, right? Right. Right. Alright, Let's let's get back to the phones here. 80305 50 get connected with our fans, which is brought to you by Bon Schenkkan King, A full service buffalo law firm..

"Then again, if you're seven, you have two chances to win one game. If you're the eight, you have two chances to win one game. Yeah, but if you lose, you get to play the 19 of chance. And if you're the nine or 10, you have to win two in a row. So you know, it's better than a best of three. Serious if you're the seven playing the 10. You can lose a serious if you're the seven playing the eight win one game or play the loser. You have two chances to win one game. Come on. It's such a good format and the MBA is of course, I mean, they're they're more progressive. They try more things, Whether it's jerseys or all star game formats. You do remember. Remember what LeBron said, Though. The guy who came up with this should be fired. Oh, wow. That's great. Congratulations. You don't see that part I was last week. At some point. Maybe it's two weeks ago because the Lakers were trending into the play in game because of all the injuries and everything on somebody asked him about what you think. The plane tournament. He said. Yeah, The guy who came up with this idea should be fired and what happened? They were in the plane tournament they want and now they're going to move a. We're in the play in game they won. He had an iconic shot and steps I and it was amazing. It was great. So the guy who came up with the idea LeBron thinks he should be fired. Meanwhile, LeBron's getting highlights out the Wa zoo and that guy is getting a raise today because it totally worked right? And if your ninth or 10th, by the way, I mean, it's it's one game or maybe two games. But if your ninth or 10th, you know, at the end of the season, you're not playing for lottery odds. You know you're Or whatever. If your 11th or 12th. You're playing for a shot to have Chance to be in the postseason. Even though your 11th now you could be you could be have no hope of catching eight, but I Okay, fine. As long as I get into 10, I got a shot. So you're keeping right you would be keeping some teams alive. That normally would be done at the end of the season because they're not catching eight, right? We already There's no way no way your race to get to 10. There'd be a race to get to six. You know, it's a little bit whatever it's it's just, um It's a great format so good for the NHL, Darren Dreger. Tweets that dozen. Qadri's been suspended five times in his career likely in person hearing, which is having some of this in person hearing handled via zoom. That's not in person. That's right. I forgot. It's a virtual in person hearing of his tweet, though. History dictates suspension. Yeah, Wait a minute. I don't think it does. Guys. I love Darren Dreger loving but history doesn't factor into suspension. I mean, listen, this is not a shot against Darren dragger or anything like that when we're talking about this, but What? Where was Tom Wilson's history and determined he got he got it had been 18 months. That same is true of Qadri. It has been 18 months. They better not say he has a history because he doesn't anymore. He What was this tweet history. What He's what did he say? What? Eight suspensions. Okay. He forgot one very important word in that tweet. Two words on Lee. Recent history dictates suspensions because you are not a repeat offender after 18 months of your clean, gentlemen, I invite you to come to the water over here is fine. Way to make that statement makes sense is to very simply Except that the NHL's not a serious professionally. No, they're not not a seriously really make up the rules. If he gets five games, and they say there's a history, then make up the rules. Hey, who's crying in the background? That's Knox. All Knox has got the better. Yeah. You know what he does have a better better cry than Dylan. Does. They have very different Christ. But milestone today he checked into £10 tag. We got a 10 pounder on her hands. Yeah, You haven't seen that since you're not standing yet. Wait to do the old pencil mark on the side of on the wall to check their height all the time. Was born in £10, by the way. We really That's kind of a sizable is that I was born in. Let's say Jonathan was like £8 something ate something I was 8 13. Yeah, that's probably right. That's probably around. You were a big kid there. Jeremy £10. Wow. And now you're like 20. So you know you haven't gained much over the years. Yeah, we'll do the heights, you know, Grab the pencil. Hey, there, ex inches tall And then six months later. Hey, look where it is now, and that'll be fun. I do. I love the NHL. I watched their games, but Um There is no other league in my entire lifetime. That is, But you you could have, you'd have to handle the soccer discussion for me. S so I'm just going to talk about the major four leagues that I have followed since I was like 10. No one consistently screws up their own operations On a day to day basis. It's just the National Hockey League. It's just funny that it's such a you know, like a billion dollar organization and everybody that works in every level of it. Has to have my want, all right? George Perils runs the player safety. It's the funniest thing ever. It should be an onion article that George Perils runs player safety. But here we are. It's Let's get a cell works, so we'll see how he does on this one. I don't take it seriously. So I don't care of cadre gets suspended because the NHL doesn't care so I don't care. You know it's too bad like This is our wait. Are we gonna have If anybody gonna say every team in the league would have would want to have a Nazem contractor team. I actually liked him. He's well, We talked about it when he was in Toronto. On the outs. Hey, sabers! Go get Nazem Kadri. He's good, however. This is the Qadri story. This is the third playoffs. He has been suspended in the playoffs right, then raised. It's one of the reasons the Leafs moved on from him. I think Audrey is a heck of a player..

"As motivation to see author of That story. Bill Bella track Yeah, right now Ghost written I think I think there's not a big assed far as I know that's the difference between five and four is one so I don't think that's disrespected. You get the second highest possible total of night games you could get on the NFL schedule and again. You might get 1/5. They could flex a game right? They could flex a game into Sunday night. I keep forgetting to check whether this is the Monday night is in the flexing of Monday night is in effect now, Or is it 2023? They could move there Carolina game to Saturday night, December 18th, and you'd have five Primetime games. Or more, if you if you flex stuff Don't worry about it. Saw Darren Dreger tweet sake. Tweets Gonna Make me Mm. It's fine. Everything's fine. Nothing's fine. They tried to turn Michael yet. No. But Taylor home on the Bruins are talking are going to talk extension he's doing. He's done very well. There. He has done well there and You know, you'll see every once in a while, like we'll get back to football, but quit hockey. You'll see the occasional sabers fan think that that is Taylor Hall's fault. I just urge you I ask you all Excuse me is the 17 million good player doing well elsewhere. A sign that every player here doesn't try. No. Taylor Hall was good. Well, who's here? Taylor Hall did try. He took a slap shot to the face did and came back. It's based on a last place team. Then when they change coaches, they sat him. So why didn't he score more goals? Maybe we would have seen without Ralph Krueger. He would've scored more goals, too. And when he went to Boston what a lot of people say Oh, he's probably really good because he's really good. He's actually generating a lot of offensive chances. He's had some bad luck and West team he's playing on this entire career and what has happened. He's scoring. Wasn't it like 889 goals or something like that? Who's surprised nobody be surprised, right? And it's another example of Oh, yeah. Hey, buffalo. Why don't you give us that amazing player who really needs a change of scenery? I mean these teams Teams. They're just lining up to take advantage of the sabers on the cycle deal. I could just just You know the point about no movement clause. The sabers did not have to trade him. The only place he was willing to go. They could about hall now. Yeah, it could have just decided We're not gonna do it. I mean, I'm not saying they should have. They got a second round pick out of it. That's fine. But No, no, We're not going to trade you. The only place you want to go. We'll just we'll be stubborn. It's funny how it is funny How you think about that now, It's just, you know, it just popped into my head since you brought up. Essentially, Taylor Hall told them he wanted to go to Boston. And the sabers accommodated him on which I think is actually which, I think is a good thing that I think the Super's did the right thing there, But it's funny wasn't in the best interest of the organization to do that. Probably I don't know. I don't know what the other offers were. Well, but again, I'm getting to the thing with Michael is all about Doing? What's in the best interest of the organization. Right rehab. Conservative 12 Best interested, Okay? Was his tailor housing. I want to go to Boston. OK, we'll send you to Boston. The best thing I don't know. It probably was, But maybe what if it wasn't when one of their like Taylor will do you a solid You wanna go to Boston? Cheryl will go to see. I mean, I doubt it would have made a big difference in the return. But in but in the truest sense of the term, best interest of the organization you worry about where you want to trade Taylor home. You don't say. All right. We'll send you the boss. But if he won't accept that, if there's no movie, sure you can try and call his bluff. You could try and push him a little harder. You could You know, See how that goes. I mean, this is where G M's and agents relationships. You know you're playing a poker game to some degree, so you don't have to do it. I don't have a problem that they did that. I don't think it's seriously altered. The return of the cycle, of course, is very different because he's not expiring Contract, but The thing I have a problem with just I don't agree with sabers fans that are just going to decide to get on another elite level player and blame that player for failures here. He played for a coach who couldn't put together an offensive system on any level for this team. Taylor Hall is a fast skater, a transition player, and the sabers did not play a transition game. It's the biggest change between Kruger in Granada was changing to a transition game. And now what's happening? He's scoring goals with Boston. Shocker. Well, no one should be shocked. No, because again, you know, I know they what they made the playoffs one year in Jersey, right? It was M V p year. He would have made the playoffs. They think it least one year when he was an Edmonton but this is clearly the best team has been on the Bruins compared to the Devils of the Oilers or You know the gazillion places he's been here? Of course, he's 29 prized. He's talented. He is me and you see how long.

"Way know that the Buffalo sabers have lots of trade interest in Sam Reinhart leading right up to the trade deadline. The return just wasn't worth the value that you get in Sam Reinhart as a hockey player as AH high character individual. That position hasn't changed from Buffalo's perspective. Are they going to have to pay more in terms and maybe a little bit more in a V to keep this guy happened? That's what we don't know. I suspect over them might be the case. Yes, the sabers Darren Dreger on the instigators W GR earlier today, that time of year we talked about How or why or if it's possible to trade away their best players. That's on Sam Reinhart. One small point. I think it's small on this. Speculation about Eichel and like my Twitter was like this today, when I maybe when, when Darren was on the station or maybe not then, but it was like With the Rangers, but they don't want to trade this player like Laughren year with the king's maybe, but they don't want to trade this player by field. This idea of the best prospect and most of my Twitter is like, Don't even talk to them. Then just remember one thing. And you know those guys who make those points probably know this, but just remember one thing It's not like the the exact 30 best prospects out there are on 30 different teams. The same team could have the two best prospects in the league. Yeah, So I mean, I don't know There should be any sort of attitude about this, which is like if it's not their best guy. You can't have a conversation. I mean, it depends on who else they've got. Maybe it's possible that you could make a trade that you could live with. Yeah, I think I think so. But I I know. Um I mean, we'll see how it unfolds. But going in, like I said this early in the week like I I don't I don't want to hear about how you you are willing to include this guy Or that guy you're talking about Jack Eichel here and Um, you know, I know the situation is muddy because of the injury. Um, I don't. I really don't think legitimately any any player in any teams organization. Should be off the table. If you're talking about trading for that guy, especially guys who just showed up in the league and maybe haven't even played it all but are you know projected to be really good like you're trading for somebody who is already made. And is going to step into your line up and Be a real contender for the best player on your team, if not flat out the best player on your team. Defenseman Real Brill's just came on like crazy this year. Um, so there's there's ways around. I think a toast with those two examples. The perceived top guy. Ah, but that's where you should be setting your sights, starting out for sure. I don't know you might not end up there because of the injury. Right on back to football. "Adams is the assistant general manager, Team USA with Chris Terreri. Is that the main point of conversation in laugh? Your Belarus is Jack Eichel one morning over coffee, Jack Eiko over beers that night like I called the next day Like, what's you've been there Dragon Cafe, like, what's that? Like? So there's my two questions? Yeah, well, number one jury is not going to Latvia. I don't know. You know he's not going. I don't know if Kevin is Um, you know, I mean, from jury's perspective, I think he felt like he put in the work given everything they've got going in New York, and he is president and general manager, So he's got two portfolios that he's operating with. But No, he's staying back in North America just to absolutely take apart this coaching hire and look around. It is existing management team. You know, he's got some real good pieces there and Kevin Maxwell comes to mind and some others so It'll be interesting to see what happens, moving forward, But I don't think that geography is going to stand in the way of Adams and jury having conversations. So there's there's terrific enters from New York's perspective as we know as we'd expect in Jack Eichel. That's why more stories you see coming out of New York. Pointing at Jack's uncertainty with health and whatnot. You know that the New York Rangers air pushing buttons right because they're trying to keep the ideal alive, but also make sure that they ask You know, isn't stuck on Alexei love friend here. Greg's. We weigh talked a lot about Jackie's. He's big story right now. And even the coaching decision that Kevin Adams has to make a guy that's kind of like going under the radar right now. Sam Reinhart. Great. Great End of the season. Great season in all, you know, he's a restricted free agent. What are you hearing? About Sam Ryan hurt? Yeah, not a lot other than what he acknowledged in his media availability, and I, you know, some came away from that. I don't know what you guys thought. On bear was a general sense of negativity, maybe not directed at sound, but just the lack of confidence that maybe he wants to stay long term with the Buffalo sabers. Well again, he's a restricted free agent. So he doesn't control the process. But you know, he's gonna want his agents Newport sports to to manage what is the best deal. He's been down the road of contracts. What sort of term What sort of money? Is it going to take? Tiki pay him in Buffalo. We know that the Buffalo sabers had lots of trade interests in Sam Reinhart leading right up to the trade deadline. And the return just wasn't worth the value that you get in in sand Reinhardt as a hockey player, as uh ah high character individuals, so that position hasn't changed from Buffalo's perspective. What are they going to have to pay more in terms and maybe a little bit more in a V to keep this guy happy on? That's what we don't know. I suspect, though, that that might be the case. All right, well, drinks. I mean, we're almost out of time. But there's what we are out of time. But there's one more thing. I gotta ask you that Have you been? Were you yachting around December 22nd with Eugene Melnyk on the dream of what is it? The dream of NASA is that was the name of the boat was I just looked at. It was like a super yacht. Right? And I think I saw I don't know that Melmotte paid this but this particular yacht Rents out for like $500,000 for the week, plus tip. So I mean, that's a big change. No question, but apparently Eugene melt like like he just She's this guy, and, uh, Here's a lawsuit over there, and here's another one over here. I mean, I give him credit in that regard because he's not afraid of what public perception is going to be. How bad must his experience to been for him to launch the lawsuit for a number of reasons allegedly. So it's just another chapter in what has turned out to be an ex. I clip media, not just a book on Eugene Melnyk, So I spoke around the NHL just kind of somewhat tongue in cheek this morning when I first read the story, and I was like You know the commissioner's office is this move the needle for you guys. Do you pay any attention to it, and they're like nuke. We're not monitoring this to it all and it must be a real slow news day for you to even ask about it. So I sent you guys sent and it is a slow news day. It's ah, It's an interesting story surrounding Surrounding Ah, owner in the NHL's looks like he's trying to sue for $10 Million to maybe acquire a player too, in the off season or maybe a yacht a down payment on the super yacht that he's suing the company. Over there you go. Maybe he wants the yacht drags. Thanks for your time today. Great as usual. T s and hockey insiders that Darren Dreger on Twitter joins us now. Fridays at 11. O'clock.

"You know you had head hunters everywhere in the NHL. And guess what? You had the goons. You had cold nor playing in the league. You had Donald Brashear. You had George LaRock. You had these guys. It still happened. Why? Because guess what? The deterrent argument. Is a first There's no deterrent. John Scott, sitting at the end of the bench is not going to deter anybody's behavior. In this modern era of hockey. The last four or five years. Kind of proves that because Tom Wilson's arm or rare than they were when the fighters were here. How many Tom Wilson's air there? Who's Wilson? There's Marshawn. There's I mean, I don't want to throw. Matthew could shock into this category because I don't think Matthew could Chuck actually. There's a lot of dirty hits. He's more of an instigator after the whistle. More of a talker. But you know you've got a couple of these guys, but you don't have almost any. Even there. I'm stretching to find a third name. And the second name brand Marsh on. I mean, he's He's always had that that nasty instigator part of his game, but he's become an elite offense of player in the league. His value is not Getting the opponent upset at him. So I think the league created the situation. I think they wanted to create the situation and I think it is working backwards. It is working backwards because they also Talk out of both ends of their mouth. They want You to see that? Oh, we take this stuff seriously, and we don't want all the fighting. We don't want the goons in the sport like we're going to take care of it. The instigator penalty in the first place was designed to eliminate The players policing themselves. But how are you to expect the players to not want to police themselves? When When you need to step up. And make a guy paid who does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. By the way in any way, this is a guy that is a repeat offender. He has been a headhunter in the league. He has been Purposely trying to injure opposing players since he showed up On NHL ice surfaces. He was suspended less than two months ago. The month of March. He got a seven game suspension. He's had a 20 game suspension in his career. There's no reason to think this guy deserved the benefit of the doubt. But George Parros in the NHL's department of Player safety gave it to him. Gave him the benefit of the doubt. Even though you could clearly see on video. He is purposely trying to slam Pavel Butch Nevins, his face into the ice. He is purposely trying to punch him while his face is down a coward's move. He is purposely pulling our Tammy parents hair as he pulls him down to the ice. And I think this one I'm not as sure on sure of but again doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. I think he's slew footing him all of the same time. It's a Matt Cooke cocktail. He's pulling hair. He's punching and he slew footing all in one motion to a guy who is four inches smaller than him in £70 lighter than him. How can you expect the players not to want to police themselves when you let that go for a $5000 fine. Less about half of what he makes in one period of hockey. He made more sitting in the penalty box for his 10 minute misconduct. Then he got fined for You know what You know, we got punished the most. Well, we don't know the Rangers situation before I before I tell you that the Rangers were the ones who got punished. The most. Their statement yesterday was awesome. I loved it For the first time in my life I wanted to like the New York Rangers. Wants to like the New York Rangers. That is big market always stealing your good players that you develop. I mean, they suck right throughout time. They just nobody likes the Rangers unless you're in New York. They put out that statement yesterday, and I was loving them. Statement. If you missed it, Woz The New York Rangers are extremely disappointed that capital forward Tom Wilson was not suspended for his horrifying act of violence last night and Madison Square Garden. Wilson is a repeat offender with a long history of these types of acts. We find it shocking. The NHL, their Department of Player Safety failed to take the appropriate action to suspend him indefinitely. Wilson's dangerous and reckless actions caused an injury to Artemis Pooneryn. Will prevent him from playing again this season. We view this as a deer election of duty by NHL had of player safety George Parros and believe he is unfit to continue in his current role. That statement goes out yesterday. It's six o'clock. And then today 2 45. Of Rangers fire. President John Davidson and general manager Jeff Gordon. And I'm supposed to believe from Darren Dreger and these other national reporters that it was a coincidence that it was really about while they're upset with their play this season. The owner. This is about the season. Give me a break. If this firing by the Rangers was about the season, and not about the events of the last 48 hours Then they would have waited another week. And done it after their final game. They've got three games left. Come on.

"He's with the kings is back in the taxi squad. I mean injury-wise. The kings are in pretty good shape. I've not been decimated here. In the first twenty games they did have the to kobylt related instances with author So yeah it's just a reason to have bodies on the road if you're on a six game road trip and three guys go down in the same game. You've got those three guys with you on the road. But what are the chances of that happening. I mean. I think we're all making too much of this taxi. Squad and kings pretty much right have only had four on it right. You can have six but only had four. I think at one time and they interchange the younger players because they want the players to play. They don't want to sit for two weeks. They wanted to go back antero. And if they're not playing with the kings play some games so they have them so many players who are waivers exempt. That for the most part i mean i think they put gross nick on waivers right at the start of the season he was claimed and then since then. I don't think they've had the place another player on waivers They just sort of rotate guys on paper more than anything else onto off of the taxi squad just to just to meet the requirements and they've actually handled it pretty craftily. I would say it's a before the season started. We had no idea Now moving to the next question and this one gyms are teased earlier when he talked about king's acquiring that dynamic left wing or sorry left shooting defenseman. The question is will the kings capitalize on their cap space to make any transactions. and obviously. that's been a hot topic of conversation on social media. Since darren i think was darren dreger that said the kings were in the market for the kind of player that all thirty teams are presumably in the market for. But jim do you see any. I mean you asked Rob blake questions about this. Dc to making any moves or sticking to the quote plans were. There's only one name. That's come up recently that i would you know jack eichel if things are falling apart in buffalo and he wants out we. I don't know the answer those questions. I'm just kinda paraphrasing. Every show i listened to.

"Hour of the show on this Thursday tonight, Tampa and Chicago and Thursday night football and actual compelling matchup. Unlike The one we had last week, although we cared because it was the Denver Broncos, But tonight should be a good game mostly because the Buccaneers have like everybody heard so we don't know who's Tom Brady is going to be throwing two time. Should be interesting. We'll talk more about that game at the bottom of the hour during line him up presented by BET, MGM. The start of free agency really in any sport. To me is like Christmas. Draft day. And free agency. My two most favorite days a year. Maybe even Ah. Held in high regard by me than season openers. And you understand that I've been a nuggets fan all my life. Iraqis fan all my life. A chief's phenom. Most of my life, um So I don't look forward to a lot of seasons, but I look forward to free agency in the draft. And NHL free agency begins tomorrow at 10 AM Joe Sakic. Was asked about the possibility Of being big spenders. Come tomorrow morning. Here's what he had to say. But when you look at and you weigh, have a lot of guys are guys that we have to take care of that a lot of guys with hard rights that we know the arm numbers once they all come in now. We're really not gonna have a lot of rumor in the capital will have a little bit of flexibility and we're gonna try and use that smartly. So ah, Whether whether it's you know, for agency or or I mean, we're more comfortable taking our time and And seeing what trades are out there, and it's gonna be a long offseason wood. There's no pressure. Do anything right away. We can wait and make sure we get the right right player for For us to try and help her too. So nine super exciting if you are in Avalanche Fan. Ah! White. Joe Sakic. Played for Pierre Laquan. For 15 years. Or played In Pierre Luc Woz organization. For 15 years. Served under him in the front office for a couple before he resigned. Kronke took over Pierre Luc Woz job and then Joe Sakic was elevated. From there. So Joe Sakic has spent a lot of time around Pierre Laquan. You don't think Over the course of all that time, especially the couple years where they were in the front office together. I don't think Joe Sakic. Picked up a little trick. Here and there. From Pierre Le Cua, because one of the things that Pierre look watch. Always loved to do. He was one of the best at keeping things under wraps. Now is a very different time. Back then, right? You don't have guys like Darren Dreger and Elliot freedmen who are The hockey versions of Wo Jin, Adam Schefter and breaking news and before anybody else knows it, and things like that you don't have social media, so is a little bit easier. To be real cloak and dagger about your moves. But Pierre Luc wa was a master at it. Joe Sakic could be 100% telling the truth. He could He could Look at this team and say health was our biggest impediment. So If I bring everybody back Chances are that we're not going to be as banged up as we were. And and that's not to say that Joe Sakic doesn't want toe Adhi will add. We're just talking at what level is he going to Add to this team in free agency. No add to it. But he may look at this team and say, Look, I don't need to make drastic changes. I don't need to sign player acts or player. Why, at the expense of keeping two players. That make less money because I like the team that I have. He may be 100% telling the truth. Don't forget that the ABS air getting Bo Bayram. So There's an addition in a nun in and of itself. Maybe he's looking like you and then some of the younger guys like Logan O'Connor, and some of these guys that we were able to fill in for the injuries give them a bigger role going into the season. He might be thinking that But I think equally is likely. Is that Joe Sakic? He's trying to pull one over on his colleagues. I think that's equally is likely. How can you not look at this team? And where they were this year. And not say Gosh, if opportunity arose. I mean, what? Let me put in this this way because you have the reports that Taylor Hall is willing to take even a one year deal with the contender. Reports are reports and it may not be the case at all. And some team may come in and say we want to offer of five year deal and Taylor Hall might not be able to refuse that. Let's just say he's willing to Would you rather have Taylor Hall for one year? Or Gladys, stop Vladislav Domestic off and J T Compher. For the next three years. I'm just throwing out random guys because you're not gonna lose obviously Landeskog.

Joe Sakic Pierre Laquan Pierre Le Cua Tom Brady Pierre Luc Woz Pierre Luc Taylor Hall Denver Broncos Logan O'Connor Pierre Buccaneers Tampa NHL MGM nuggets Chicago football Darren Dreger toe Adhi
