"Live from the rich eisen show studio in Los Angeles. I haven't seen a single play where I thought that guy's a dirty player at all. Earlier on the show. Tampa Bay times bucks writer Rick Stroud. ESPN college basketball analyst Jay villas. Longtime busting globe Columbus, bob Bryan, coming up. ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington and now. It's rich. Power number three of the rich hasn't show us on the air. 8 four four two O four rich numbered it down. If you're on hold stand hold, we'll take your phone calls, hour number three of this program. We've already chatted with bob Ryan of The Boston Globe formerly now with the SPN forever and a day. He's got a new book on baseball out called in scoring position 40 years of a baseball love affair. We talked about the Celtics big comeback win, certainly with a remarkable fourth quarter performance last night, 16 and 19 from the field in the fourth quarter 6 for 6 from Al Horford and now the Celtics go home and have an opportunity to just win at home and knock out the defending NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks, we also talked with Jay billis at the top of last hour about the new NIL ruling that the division one board of directors made trying to remove the collectives that have been formed across this country by boosters putting in a whole bunch of money to figure out how to create deals for players as opposed to just deals players getting deals organically based on their name image and likeness. Now, these collectives have been formed to incentivize players or induce players to appear at schools as opposed to these NIL deals rewarding players for their name Imogen likeness already out of school. You could pretty much guess Jay thinks that it's just a drop of water in the ocean that's not going to work. Our number one, we had Rick Stroud on the program from the Tampa Bay times to try and figure out how to make heads or tails of the top story of the day. If you missed any of it, YouTube dot com slash rich eisen show for those who you were not been here for the first two hours of the program. Susie Schuster sitting in for Chris brockman in his chair as soon as you've got some news update coming up in the middle of this hour. I do it. I'm ready. Okay, very good. Mike del tofo is wearing glasses for the first time saying he's needed them for years. That might be the top story. As soon as that in your news update later on, I think we need to repeat the top story of the breaking news. That could be breaking that certainly was for us. And now we understand how he's been breaking things around here for the last 7 plus years. TJ Jefferson good to see you and your position. Well, it's good to be seen, Rick. Excellent. And joining us here at the top of this hour to talk about the top story of the day. And that is Tom Brady. Announcing or Fox announcing Fox writ large, not Fox Sports, but the fox majordomo, Loughlin Murdoch, announcing that Tom Brady has agreed to call games for Fox Sports in their number one NFL booth once he's done playing. So that news came today. So we figured there's only two people on the planet who have retired Tom Brady. Loughlin Murdoch and this man, Jeff Darlington of ESPN joining me here on the Mercedes Benz Vance phone line on the rich eisen show. How are you doing, Jeff? That's.

"The Dale junior download. You're both you're both grimacing over here. Make sure you want to catch it. Tomorrow, 5 p.m.. You're still grimacing Jeff. Come on. We told him, hey, man. When you go to that, do that. Download is like true serum. All that stuff is still flying out. And the final Supercross race of the season Saturday on CNBC, you can relax now. Thank you. Yeah, but you want to hear those stories thinking of a guy on motorcycles, Ricky Stenhouse junior started on motorcycles way back in the day. Currently though, he is in a truck because I tornado just went through the farm. Everybody okay? Stenhouse at the Stenhouse house? It did not go through. Our farm, but near the farm. Less than a mile, less than a mile down the road, I guess I said a tornado touched down. So we don't have any power at the ranch right now. So we came to the other side of mooresville to grab some food and then I remembered dang, I gotta do this show, but luckily we weren't at home because I didn't have Wi-Fi anyway, so better service over here. That's awesome, man. Hey, congratulations on the terrific finish on Sunday, second for you guys at Dover. How needed was that finish for you guys at JTG Doherty racing? It was very much needed. Obviously, anytime you get a good run like that, have an opportunity to chase a leader down, especially at a place like gover, always build a lot of confidence in the team. You know, us as a team, we felt like, you know, there's been a handful of races where we've had good speed, just nothing to really show for it, and then you put three short tracks where we've really struggled on top of it, and I feel like, you know, that really makes the taste and look like a bad start. So, you know, we felt like we've had some speed. We finally were able to put it all together on a track that has some speed. Which makes us look forward to, you know, what's coming with Darlington and Kansas coming up next. So we still got some work to do, but you know the short tracks or something that we got to get a handle on. So Ricky, you guys go the Daytona 500, running really well, shot to win the thing. Get wrecked really late. And then from there, it just seemed like you had not been able to keep your momentum back. You go this weekend and run really well. What is the key to keeping everybody pumped up? Keeping yourself pumped up so that you can go and just fight through a tough start of the year. Well, I think that's kind of the culture that we have at JTG Doherty racing is just everybody's buckled down. We're a lot of good racers, a lot of hard racers and, you know, they see the speed that we've had at certain racetracks and I think that bumps them up. They know that I really liked Dover and everybody's tuned in when, you know, we're working on new setups and have meetings and, you know, it keeps everybody pumped up, but, you know, obviously when you come off a second place finish, that was huge momentum for everybody in the shop to show up Monday. You know, they watched a race Monday from the shop and I'm sure they got a little more work done. Monday afternoon after that finish. So we got a lot of good racers and, you know, it's tough to beat, you know, good momentum, but it's hard to put all that together. So we got Darlington this weekend that we're really focused on, feel like we can carry that momentum that we had. So Ricky, we got a couple of folks who have called in to chat with you. So we'll start with James in New York. James you're on with Ricky Stenhouse junior, go ahead. How are you doing there, Ricky? Good, how are you? Feeling pretty good. I wanted to ask, after your second place finish at Dover, what have you learned going into Darlington this weekend, which is a track similar to Dover? Yeah, I mean, the high speeds and how banking is definitely, you know, lend yourself to, I guess, the same philosophy of a setup. We're definitely going to have some differences in setup, but you know, for us, it's just, you know, trying to get something close and, you know, I got to some simulator work, I got to do tomorrow and hopefully we can get that dialed in. We felt like we had a really good simulator test before we went to Dover and, you know, you got to start close and practice. You only got 15 minutes before you got to go qualify and that's kind of the key to a successful weekend is unloading where you need to be. So sim session I have tomorrow is going to be important, but it'll be, it'll be, we got some good notes from Dover. Hey, Ricky, you said finishing second at Dover, you guys were finally able to put a race together. And that's exactly what chase Elliott said as well. Like for the first time all season, they executed the whole way, put a whole race together in one. So for you, for your team, what was the key? I know it was a tire management race. Was it a caution following the right time? Was it managing strategy? Well, what did you guys do to be able to put a full race together for the first time this year? I feel like for us, it all started, like I said, the simulator test we had a good test there. Showed up, practice. It drove similar to the simulator. And so we started making a few adjustments and, you know, felt like we were happy with the speed. And then when we dropped the green flag on Sunday, I was like, wow, this thing's really good. So from then on, it was, you know, let's pit with the leaders. Let's not do anything crazy. We had really good pit stops all day. We didn't speed on pit road. Our tire management was really good. My car was good on the long run. We didn't have any tire issues. Which, you know, let us just do normal stops and do everything normal. We had a good race car, which makes up for a lot of issues as well. So, you know, for us, it was just, you know, staying within our limits and not pushing the car too hard. And having those good pit stops and Darlington's a long range, a lot of pit stops, a lot of car management, how to keep it out, keep it off the wall. Don't worry your tires out. So it'd be similar. So Ricky just real quick, Jeff rodd point earlier. It's going to be a bit of a learning curve for drivers this weekend, less grip with this race car. So how will this car fare at Darlington you think? Talking to a few other guys that did the test. You know, the one and two is fast as ever. Sketchy with the new car, you're not sure exactly when it might step out on you. Which has been kind of the theme, I feel like for this race car, especially on the faster race tracks we go to. But then three and four is where I feel like is going to be the biggest difference that, you know, the fans are going to see in us drivers with the downshifting that we're capable of doing with this new car, you know, three and four, Jeff knows you were always looking for a little bit better drive up out of the corner. And so now we can downshift when you run that bottom lane in three and four. And so that'll be something totally different for us that we haven't done at Darlington and I don't know if it'll take the high line away or not. All right bud, we all enjoy dinner and glad the tornado didn't actually hit the ranch. That's good stuff, man. We'll see you in Darlington, okay? Thank y'all.

"In the sport. Kirk show me, winning out the chip four championships, a ton of races. Matt Kenseth, you look at what he's done. I mean, two Daytona 500 southern 500 Coke 600, all star wind, cup chairmanship. I mean, it goes on and on and on. They're all really well deserving. And it's good to see. I am ecstatic from Mike Hilton. I'm a huge Mike Elton fan. Mike kelton is a leader in this sport and I am so happy that he was recognized today because he has made an unbelievable amount of contributions to this. Has been a leader for decades and still it really is Nate. So kind of give us a feel for in the room, how the discussions went, how the vote went compared to past years, maybe. So Pasteur's Marty, I would say it's been a little bit more contentious. Sometimes some arguments break out. This year, we started at 1 p.m., we were done by two 45. Wow. And I think they had another hour built into the schedule for potential discussion. I think people arrived knowing who they wanted to vote for to Jeff's point. I think kenzie was very much a clear cut first ballot Hall of Famer. He's the only cup champion on the ballot, both modern era and pioneer one of the most consistent drivers in history and also the Triple Crown winner with cocoa 600 southern 500 and the two day ten O 500 wins. So that was clear cut. And I think hershel mcgriff he finished in the top three vote gutters last year of guys who didn't get inducted. So I think even though you can look at his record and say, you know, there's not a lot there in terms of cup success and like four cup victories, hirsch mcgriff had a lot of support coming in and you know, he's the guy who raced the 1950s southern 500 was going to say the very first the very first race at Darlington Raceway. Where NASCAR will be this weekend. Hershel mcgriff drove drove his oldsmobile from Oregon where he lives to Darlington race that car at Darlington and then drove home. So a great story and a long career. Hershel is a great example of, you know, this is a NASCAR Hall of Fame. It's not a Cup Series Hall of Fame. And Herschel McGrath is a great example of someone that contributed to the sport, had tons of success, not just at the cup level. I mean, tons of tons of wins and now is an orca series. And I mean, he was the leader of that. And so he had a major impact on this sport. And it's important for people at home that don't really know. This is not just a Cup Series Hall of Fame. It is a Hall of Fame that goes throughout all the NASCAR and it's great that drivers like hirschberg can be recognized. Herschel still with us at 94 and the oldest person to ever enter a NASCAR race at 90 years old. So he's got a lot of stats out of also ran the 24 hour Le Mans twice as well. Kirk scholar dean, 46 wins with Dale Earnhardt senior as a crew chief. That's a lot of wins. Four championships and they did it in an era where they really they were able to put them back to back twice to be able to do that. And I think had he stayed on, crew chiefing, they definitely.

"Didn't do anything to you. Seriously. Checkered flag is flying on this show. This has been the final lap weekly catches next week right here when we will recap the racing at Darlington and preview. Kansas and all the stories in between tobi you and I will chat next week. Is that not right? No, I'm sure it's right. I just don't like it. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's right. I got it on my spiffy print out of the schedule. Listen, it doesn't feel like. You know, you had all the short tracks, then Talladega and then Dover, and then you got this week with Darlington. It just doesn't feel like Kansas is what will continue the momentum going after that. Well, nevertheless, there it is. There it is, momentum breaker. Kansas. You got a list ready for us here on the show for Patreon dot com slash the final app. I mean, I'm sure I probably do if you'll give me like a minute here. I could probably pull it up. We've got tons of people on this thing. It takes a while. A lot of bandwidth to pull it up. And I know we have a new person. Oh. So, so the new patron carry, this means that we're now up to 19 on the list. We go. We're gonna have to start building a longer portion of the show for this. Or just a separate file, just a different show or just people will stop re upping. And that's what it looks like has happened because now we're down to 17. Oh. So we gained one and lost two? Yeah, we gained one and we lose two, it looks like. I don't know what you could have said to upset some people carry. Wow. But you've done something because it couldn't have been me. Why? I was going to say, why is it on me? And it has to be you..

"Stage win and two seconds. And I'm gonna continue on with another Toyota driver, the number 19 Martin Truex Junior, he has a 10.1 average finish in 19 races here. He's got four top 5 and ten top ten. With the laps led at 693 in the game that's only 37 laps more than the 5 car. In twice the races run. But Truex has two wins at the lady in black, one coming just last spring, where he had a one 50 driver rating. It doesn't get any better than that. The stage point picture in the 8 races we've had stages run, trix has collected points in 12 of 16 stages and check this. 6 stage wins. And one second. So he definitely likes to run up front. So I would be considering Truex for my lineup this weekend. All right, that's all I got for you for picks for this week. What do you guys think of the new format, sorry I got a little Keselowski on you this week? But we can do that now. Don't have to stick to the 48 minute mark. And you might hear a couple of recording floss too that I'm not going to edit out either. So anyway, I have a good race over there at Darlington, the lady in black. Thanks once again, everybody for hanging out and listening to the fantasy segment of the show. I am rowdy dragon. We will talk to you next week. All right, there you have rowdy dragon. You're fantasy NASCAR guru on the program for Darlington Raceway this weekend. He is the man with the plan and he always has some really good advice for us. I actually did okay this past week. Yeah, me too. I was like 47. I mean, that's pretty good. According to rowdy, I am catching you guys, even though I have one less race under my belt, that's incredible. So I wondering here, I see we've got at 21st in our rankings this past week's race was race and Jason. Is that Jason huff tailing? Because that's kind of his name. Could be. I mean, maybe? Is that good or bad? I mean, he's been suspended, so. Well, he could still play this. He could. He's not suspended from our game, but does he want to come on and tell his side of the story? What happened? Jason, there you go. This is indeed you. Let us know. That'd be cool. Yeah, that would be cool. Hey, thanks so much to rowdy dragon, of course, for giving us his wisdom each and every week. And of course, Cole Custer, who was on the program, giving us his wisdom getting you set up for Darlington this weekend. Go back and listen to that again. Yes, it's good times. Very, very good times. We forgot to say this at the top of the show, but if you like what we are doing here each and every week, please be sure to subscribe and give us a good rating wherever you get your podcasts. That would make us happy. And if you don't like what we're doing, just stop listening and don't mention anything in any of the ratings or stuff. Just leave a beat, man. Only good vibes around here. We didn't do anything to you. Seriously. Checkered flag is flying on this show. This has been the final lap weekly catches next week right here when we will recap the racing at Darlington and preview. Kansas and all the stories in between tobi you and I will chat next week. "The number one pops, that's a pretty cool scheme. Yeah, yeah, for sure. That's a really, really cool one. The 8, I like how the wrap is peeling off there at the left front. That's cool. Yeah, so that's actually throwback to Dale junior's old Richmond Xfinity scheme back in the chance two days if you remember the Looney Tunes were all over it. So the guy over there that's making all the Dale junior schemes on these junior motor sports cars is incredible Ryan Williams. He does a great job and he's able to turn these things into what the original looked like without using all the original stuff. So the sponsors are almost never right and the fonts for the numbers are never right, but man, he finds a way to make it where it still looks right. And he does a really good job with that. Well, let's get into Darlington. It's race number 12 on the schedule on a egg shaped oval 1.366 miles in length because you got that menopause that can't be disturbed and they couldn't have shifted the whole track over, but all that's right, the minnow pond I'd forgotten all about it. Yeah, see, I like to remind people about that. How engineers couldn't possibly have just moved the track over a little. Although it's kind of led to really cool racing sense. So maybe it's a good thing. I think it's a fake story to be honest because it allowed them to move the meadow pond or whatever. We'd have like a weird dog leg on the front stretch or something and we'd hate it. I guess, banking, it turns one and two, 25°, three and four, 23° front and back stretches 6°. Front and back stretches somehow are equidistant, although I don't buy it 1229. Of all tracks, I don't buy that one. While the straightaways are the same length, it's just it goes to a different thing at the end of them. Still kind of weird, I don't know. Race length, 293 laps, 400.2 miles stage one 90 lap stage two ends at one 85, final stage two 93. Interesting, interesting interesting. It's going to be a long race, although not as long as the southern 500 later in the year. But this is a grueling race. This is a grueling track. It'll be interesting to see who can tame the beast this weekend. And they've got three. Is it three different guests hosts up in the booth? One for each day. Yes. Yes, they're going to have Richard Petty and stage one, Bobby Labonte and stage two and Bill Elliott and stage three. Three Hall of Famers coming by the booth. Cool. That's going to be different. Yeah, although it'll be interesting. I don't think. When's the last time you saw Richard Petty call race? I don't know. I mean, that'll be interesting to see. Any waving a flag, too? He might be, so why would they have him wave the flag and get down there for stage one? They should just put him at stage three, give him some time. Right. How are they? I don't know. What the guy gets some time to get to the booth, man. I think he's waving. He's Richard Petty. He's pretty fast. He's even down there saying gentlemen start your engines. I forget. They've got him saying to Jonas are your engines from the booth. Maybe. That'd be cool. All right. Martin trex junior won the May race there last year Denny Hamlin won in September. Sweet, sweet. So Joe Gibbs Racing looks pretty stout here at Darlington, huh? Well, at least last year, okay, we'll have to keep that in mind as we get to rowdy dragon's pics here in a little while. If you love racing and you love Darlington, this is your weekend because all three series are there. And if you don't like racing and you don't like Darlington, well, not sure why you're listening. Yeah, first off, I don't know why you're listening to second of all, bad luck buddy. What about a week? That totally. It's gonna like racing, but I can tolerate it as long as they're not at Darlington. This is bad week for you. Get a hit you over the head with it. 400 miles at Darlington Raceway as the Cup Series is an action on Sunday three 30 p.m. eastern on FS1. They do have lights there. So that's good. Goodness. Hey, Google. What's the weather like in Darlington, South Carolina on Sunday? Sunday in Darlington, it'll be partly cloudy with a high of 73 in a low of 51. All right, I didn't hear rain there. So that's good. Okay, partly cloudy though. So there's always a chance. 200 miles for Xfinity series action Saturday one 30 p.m. eastern on FS1 and 200 miles of truck series racing. Friday at 7 30 p.m. eastern on FS1. FS1, a big FS1 weekend this whole weekend, huh? Yeah, just lock it in and you're done, I guess. Yeah. That makes it kind of easy. Just let it roll. Yeah. Yeah. Drivers, door dashing at Darlington. Nice. I like what you did there. Got it in again. That's two weeks in a row. That's good, man. Getting the sponsor plug in there. Look at you go. Let's begin with Eric Jones, who has a win there. Four top 5, 6 top tens, average finish of 10.1. Wow, that's third best, and he's been running really good lately, so. Right. Maybe there's something to think about there. How about Bragg Keselowski? He has a win of this racetrack 5 top 5s, 8 top tens on a poll, average finish of 11, 6 three..

"Can give me credit. Wow. Although Jeff Darlington just said, it's not about the running backs down. He may have been wrong. Jeff was wrong about Brady's. Oh, no, he wasn't. Brady did in fact retire. Coming up, shams charania. Never said the R word. When embiid made that shot. Oh, I was give me the snapshot. All right, so I'm first of all, I put on Twitter, right? Remember right at the end of regulation when 6 was called the timeout. There was like 20 seconds and B took a shot. Back three, 23 feet. And I went on Twitter. I was like, there is no way I can not believe that that was the play call. For him to take a 23 foot step back three. And then almost in the exact same spot. He won the game. And I was like, then retweeted, well, what do I know? By the way, by the way, how about Doc calling a timeout? Because it wasn't going so well. Fires off the timeout to reset. And then the inbounds for that and then he jars the shot. Let's give it up for Doc? Yeah. I was like, 9 tenths. I'm not giving it up. Gotta give it up. He got incredibly lucky. Or the fact is like this. The sixers did not. You don't want your big man shooting a 25 foot fade away. And you can handle it. I'm sorry. You're good. Read all the courts after the game. They were all saying that that's a high percentage shot to them. Was MB taking that shot. Man, they're doing the thing. Come on. No, I mean, with 9 tenths of a second, what are you going to get? As good of a shot as you could try to throw it to them underneath the basket. And B, that was just I went crazy in my apartment last night. I thought, I'm sure my neighbors were like, what is going on? That doesn't eliminate the raptors in the same way that the raptors eliminated the sixers in that building with that 3.8. But that's close. I know. Now comes the dock up big and a series type thing and I'm rooting for him. I'm the go on record. There is zero chance of us not winning this series. Like zero agree with you on that. Also, the sixers play didn't play great yesterday. Howard and filed out in the fourth and they still won. And obviously, you've got to win games like that when you not playing. So just to see that happen without. I mean, I don't know. I'm trying not to get too excited. I feel like a game that Toronto was going to win the entire way. Basically beginning to end. Yeah, because they had to steal it. It's been in the 60s took it. It was a swing for them. It's been battling an illness all series and he had a great game. He still wasn't enough. Oh. Embiid with the game winner, baby. I mean, how do you honestly, how do you stop and be? Like, what do you do? He's a problem. Shams charania with the rest of the NBA coming up hour two. We're all juggling life a career and trying to build a little bit of wealth. "And Jameis Winston were the two biggest quarterbacks in free agency. And then in a draft class in which we're looking at Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis, as the two biggest prospects, you saw teams try to solidify their quarterback room before they even got to this point in the draft. So I don't necessarily see teams reaching for those players, even though you do have a team like Carolina, which is going to pay way too much for Sam darnold this year and needs to find a way to go a cheaper route and we all know that the draft is exactly that for these teams. So that's the one team you can look at potentially reaching their at 6. So you could see them looking at Willis or maybe pick it and that spot. And the Carolina GM a couple weeks ago talked about how much you love Cam Newton in spite of how he looked last year, I know he had some comments this week that have gone over a rather poorly about women. What is Cam Newton's status right now? You know, I go back to when he first became available before the Patriots ultimately signed him a couple of years ago, it took until August before any team was willing to sign him and that team ultimately became the Patriots. But there was a four to 5 month gap when he was completely available and could sign with any team and 31 if you include the Patriots in that 31 teams were not interested in taking a shot on him. Now Kim might have been asking for too much money at that point, we don't know what he's asking for now. But there wasn't much of a market for him then. And now he's gone through Carolina and he's gone through New England and I personally, I kind of sensed that this might be the end of the road for cam in the NFL. It only takes again. It takes one team, but to me, those teams had their shot with cam a couple years ago, and I don't know that he's done that much in these two seasons since to show any of those teams that maybe now is the time for them to take another chance. And Jeff I don't need to remind you that we thought we were at the end of Tom Brady a couple of months ago. And can you take us through when that story first came out? And it took a while and then he announced he was leaving and now he's back and what happened. One of the fascinating components I think Paul, when I kind of reflect on this past several months is when he, when there was talk from the end of the season to the point when we reported that he was retiring to three days later when he actually did that, you knew that it was festering inside of him the idea of retirement, but it never felt like even when he did retire. It never felt like all of the reasons you would expect for a guy who played 20 years. It almost felt more like when you hear a player just sort of tired at the end of the season. It felt like that. He felt like he didn't want to do the farewell tour this year where every team was saying, oh, guilt celebrate Tom. He didn't want that. He wanted it to be unceremonious almost to where he could just drift off into the sunset. And those were all reasons that don't necessarily feel he still didn't feel ultimately that satisfied even as he was retiring. And that's why I think it was sitting in a lot of our heads that kind of were close to the situation like, I'm not fully sure that he's done, even though he's saying right now he's done. I'd say the biggest surprise to me was that it only took him a month, ultimately to say, you know what I'm not cut out for domestic life just yet. I need another season at least of the football life. Would you seem very odd? And you covered so many of these stories that you always have that final news conference that puts the bow on it and when he didn't do that. Right. You had to think about what is he doing? You know what's funny? That actually he never really wanted that. And that was kind of what I was saying about the farewell tour, the Instagram post that he essentially put out that Tuesday where he announced his retirement in a very kind of simple way. Was the way he wanted it to be. And I guess that to your point, probably could have led a lot of us to have pause and say, this doesn't exactly feel the way you would expect someone like Tom Brady to put a stamp on his career and maybe that's because in the back of his head, he was sitting there saying, man, I don't know if I'm ready. I guess I'm going to go ahead and call it a career. And ultimately, we found out exactly what he was thinking because it didn't last long. Yeah. Great stuff on that and everything else. Jeff, thanks for making time for us. It's always great to see you. Well, of course. Thanks, man. Thank you. Jeff Darlington, of course, was part of that group who broke that initial Tom Brady story who refused to acknowledge that that was accurate, and he did. And now he didn't. We'll take a.

"Two weeks in a day before the NFL Draft, we are bringing Jeff Darlington who covers the NFL. Always good to have Jeff on the program, Jeff. Before we get to the NFL, I know you just spent a week in Augusta following Tiger and everything else along, especially the Tiger part of described to us what that experience was like. Paul, it was awesome, man. I got into Augusta on Sunday, so I was there as sort of things built around the idea that Tiger was going to play. I've never seen a practice round like the one when Tiger came out there and played with Justin Thomas, the galleries were unbelievable. The energy was electric. And I mean, once he made the cut, that to me was his win. You know, I think there was a sense that the injury was really kind of hindering him going into the weekend, but the energy was just, it was unbelievable. Magnetism, like, I've never seen in a practice round and he's still got a man. He is the needle Paul. In terms of just what he looked like when it was all over. I mean, the physical toll had to be immense. I mean, what kind of shape do you think he's in right now? I think it's all the type of situations that he'll be able to recover from it. It's a matter of kind of building into having the type of stamina that can get him through four days. But make no mistake. I was talking to people throughout the weekend that were making very clear that he was in a lot of pain. And even coming off of his Saturday around, you know, he said something like, yes, felt better for him to even be that vulnerable shows you what kind of pain Tiger Woods was in. And that's why I think he was so pleased and you saw the smile on his face coming off the 18th on Sunday that he accomplished something he set out to do. And for the first time in Tiger's career, it wasn't winning. He also made the golf world forget about Phil Mickelson, which I'm sure Phil appreciated. He is going to, he's a defending champion of the PGA in a month. What did you hear anything about Phil while you were over there? I'm sure Augusta also appreciated the distraction that Tiger provided. And look, I think a lot of the golfers that I talked to have been very clear about the fact that they're really not thinking about what Phil is going to do. And I know that all of us are intrigued by the idea of this golf league getting started up. But I think the PGA has found itself in a very confident position. Maybe based on even the comments that Phil had made that put him in the hot water in the first place and probably maybe detracted from some of these high profile players from making that leap and ultimately though I got to say, maybe it was that Phil wasn't there, but I did not sense much of a distraction on Augusta, especially when it came to that new golf league. Your main gig is covering the NFL, which we'll hit a high point in two weeks with the draft. And I know some drafts are so much expectation and surprise as we are getting closer. What is the conversation about the number one pick right now? Well, it's fascinating because a lot of people obviously have it's going to be a defensive player. I think we all feel pretty confident in that just because the quarterback class isn't all that heralded, but the idea that suddenly a guy like Trayvon walker could be even considered it number one is something that continues to fester. And I think the fascinating component of that is obviously that maybe his college productivity doesn't match being a number one overall pick, but the one thing that keeps coming up and I think Dan orlowski mentioned this is that Jacksonville is still a team that could potentially look in that direction. You've got a guy in Trent balke when he was with San Francisco. He was really all about physical traits over college performing and this with walker feels like exactly that type of guy. I'm not saying it happens. I'm just saying it is fascinating as the draft news closer that that is even a major point of conversation. Yeah, and Jeff, he's moved up the so called mock drafts. He's up to number 6 from considerably farther back. What would it take at this point to unseat some of the people like Hutchinson and others at the top? It takes one team, Paul, and we see that with quarterbacks every year. And when you don't have a quarterback to reach for, which seems to be the case, even if, say, Malik Willis was to go 6 to Carolina. It takes a team, like I said, like Trent balke saying, you know, that's our future superstar. And I don't care what he did in college. The one thing I'll say about the NFL is the decision makers are a lot of arrogant men. Maybe for good reason. But they don't feel like they need to look at four years of college tape to decide what a guy can do in the NFL. And for good and plenty of times for bad, that could be the case. So for someone like walker, that's certainly could be the case this year. I've heard it was over last year, I think who just unloaded on the quarterback class, Malik Willis, he was not high on corral. Can he pick it up? Can you pick it up? Who is likely to be picked first and how high could that individual go? Well, you know, like I said, you got Carolina at 6. And I think that what we saw in the NFL with all the craziness that occurred in free agency or I should just say the off season in general with the quarterback position is a result of teams looking at both free agency, which really was unheralded. I mean, Mitch trubisky.
NASCAR Playoff Pulse: Analyzing the Field After Richmond
"Opening up the nascar cup series season with three wins in the opening. Twelve races martin. True ex junior went through a long dry spell when the weather warmed up. Well he's got his mojo back again. Winning the playoff race at richmond ending his summer slump a lot of tough lock and auto crashes and got caught in the rain a few times and some crazy things happen too so i felt like we brought goodspeed all summer. We had good cars for the most part other concrete tracks. Really kinda whipped us. But you never know how things are gonna go to x. Now joins teammate denny. Hamlin is around one winner. Who's locked up a spot in round two. Also clinching on points. Kyle larson trying to be one of the other nine drivers who are going to move on chase. Elliott is currently ranked seventh and fortunate to finish fourth at richmond following a problem pitstop when the reigning champ thought he had slid through his pit box so i just kind of took it upon myself to back up. Tj already hit the right side. Jack and at that point. I should know not to but obviously i wouldn't have broke the jack if i knew it was going to break the jack so i just didn't want to stop over the line. I thought that was just gonna make problems even worse so try to be cautious. Ended up hurting us. Worse after problems. At both darlington and richmond. Alex bowman is currently tied on the cutoff line. With kurt

"We're about to play america's favorite games too right now. Green flag black-flag redesign statement. And if you agree with the statement our panel will give it a green flag. And you'll hear this now. This agree give it a black flag and you get this. All right can start with hermes sadler since he drove so far. All right all right at least to pass. Champions will be eliminated in round one. A green flag have to elaborate is just because his that kind a year. It's just been crazy. And what you see and i just got this feeling that this year is gonna be different and strange and upside down and Surprise after surprise a green flag me. Right alexis ericsson. Yeah i'm gonna go black flag actually Certainly could happen. But i don't see it happening especially at around one now round two. Perhaps that could definitely happen. But there's just some other guys Down at the bottom of round one that are that are not past champions. I think are gonna go up. I all right. What do you think doug rice. I'm going to agree with her. Sadler and say green flag. I could easily see a couple of past champions stumbling over the next couple of races. Kabua's all but said he's given up on his team so he could be one of them and who else could suffer that same kind of fate. So i agree to to one so far. Brad gilly what do you think. I think the gentleman to my left and my right are crazy. One pass. that's true. Look i think kyle busch goes out You go back and look at his history and he has melted down in the first race of several playoffs before and that literally just set the tone for him not even be able to compete for a title. So i would say one but not to all right. Alliance is having my back here you go. You're you're up next on this. When alexis darlington will not be the last attrition race in the round of sixteen. Oh gosh yeah green flag. I mean we're going to richmond and we're going to bristol in those are racetrack. Second call is high. High attrition High tempers high everything. So yes i say green flag. I do not think darlington. We'll be the only one that will see multiple multiple playoff drivers suffering. Ill fates. I'm gonna bet doug agrees with you. Do i do agree wholeheartedly. Green flag. I thank the folks up to bristol need to order a couple of extra records and maybe a backup role black. Because there's gonna be some torn up sheet metal there brad geli oh green flag all the way we look. We have nine hundred laps of racing still left in this round. I don't know that it's necessarily gonna be richmond but stranger things can happen to doug point. I think speedway children's charities is going to have a lot of sheet metal auctioned off after bristol. all right. how about her me. Sadler black flag. Whoa oh woo. You know the reason. I say that number one i want to disagree with everybody else because it makes a good radio and television and all that but number two these teams and drivers that have dubbed themselves. This whole at darlington. They can't race aggressively as much as they. Maybe would like to so. I think we're going to see not trying to not sale tickets for these tracks. But i think you're going to see drivers that are trying to come back or dig back out of that hole to be a little bit more conservative at richmond and bristol. Maybe so then If they could just take the reins off or they might have to be desperate at bristol. Good point but that's not part of my narrative bristol baby all right dirt left meredith. Love that all right. Let's go to doug rice. I on this one. After not winning a race in the regular season denny. Hamlin will go back to back with a victory in richmond this weekend. Good that happen. I wanna say green flag. Why not yeah. Let let the guy go ahead and that takes away another race from somebody else that needs one guaranteed to advance. I like i like that to use hermes word narrative. How about a brad guilty. I will say black flag not just disagree with doug but i don't think he goes back to back. I think there are people right now. Who are way better on short tracks denny hamlin even though this is his home track and i know he's won a lot of raises here. I'll say black flags can be someone else saturday even her me. What are you saying Black flag. I said earlier matt narrative earlier in the show was dinnie. Is he's good richmond to stats. Say that they don't need me to say but he's really really good at darlington how he can take a fifth eighth place. Car may be win with in richmond. Not as much. I think he. He's always hit great cars. They are anchor drive them. But i think I think somebody just goes to victory lane this weekend alexis. What's your narrative mind is. I've got dogs back. I think.
Denny Hamlin Wins Southern 500 to Open NASCAR Cup Playoffs
"The first of ten NASCAR playoff races saw Danny Hamlin hold off a hard charging Kyle Larson to grab the checkered flag at Darlington Raceway one of these playoffs together was no room for error and you now to fund your ticket to the next round we get to go out there and focus on getting to the second round which I think is probably the most dangerous Larson made a valiant effort on the final lap bumping Hamlin's rear bumper and then as if he was playing a video game banged his car off the wall trying to make the pass seven of the sixteen playoff drivers had issues including Kyle Busch and chase Elliott who suffered wrecked race cars Ross Chastain finished third followed by Martin Truex junior and Kevin Harvick Steve Richards Darlington South Carolina

Everyone yes do the country there. It is a country. That's carl how you doing. And we all love you in michigan. By the way there's a picture of that girl looks like everyone at all nascar gave me. I gave myself gave nate ryan. Got a t shirt like this. So we're we're exclusive. I just got a picture. We're an exclusive group. We're an exclusive group. Banking carl man. Thank you man. I'm doing your mom thank you how are you doing. What's going on with telling you today. Good man i just want to say. I appreciate you guys. I know how busy on what you guys and nbc do for me means the world to me. And i really appreciate you guys. You guys mean a lot. We talk about this every year. The divers it ain't in the play offs sponsorship some fighting for jobs. Some doing this supposedly. There's an etiquette. How do these guys drive when they have so much on the line as well to these to these twelve drivers. Because i think that's something that's very key and all this two guys that are going for jobs and stuff like that do with is how they should drive against the playoff drivers grapevine nascar and different from other sports tile. Everybody's stolen the playing. Everybody's still out there. But here's the thing. I think the the we're gonna darlington we're going to unveil set it. There's no place to hide. You can't get out of the way man. It's it's tough going to bristol. You can't get out of the way it's tough. I think these these. I the first two or three races the next two or three races after that. I think everybody just races like they always race. I don't care whether you're in the playoffs. And i'm not if i'm and i'll go to carl's to carl's man if i'm ryan newman. I'm still trying to win races. Dude i don't care if you're in the playoffs i don't didn't make a difference to me. I'm still trying to win races as we get to. Those final eight as we get to that final race. And there's just four guys the etiquette and sportsmanship changes a little bit. I think i give you a break. I'll let you in line. I let you do certain things that i wouldn't let you do. Normally but as we go through these first few races. I think it's still every man for himself because as carl said these people have sponsor commitments teen commitments. There's still trying to win a race this year. Yeah and i think most of the playoff drivers if not each and every one of them understand that these there are other drivers out there. That's way this sport is and there's a lot for them to to gain in these last ten races against some or are auditioning spill to try to get a ride for next year and they have sponsorships that they're trying to sell so that you understand that you hope that at a playoff driver that they're respectful of what you're doing and i think that the rest of the field is that but they also understand they have to rice hard and it is racing is a competition and each race every weekend. Is something a little bit different. So you do what you have to do and I think that if the playoff drivers were to ask them something it was be like. Don't put us in a terrible spot to where is house both of us something. Yeah good point no doubt about where the drivers in the clouds this year. Kurt busch and he joins us here on motormouth. Now kurt good to see congratulations on the new deal. Congratulations on the playoffs. As well as we look at the playoff leaderboard right now. But i know the new deal is has fired up as well and i remember talking to you when the cd oh i came about curt and you said that really gave you. Some fresh energy is a kind of the same thing once again. Fresh new energy with twenty three eleven racing and the new next year one hundred percent. You know and it's nice with the timing to get it all wrapped up and try to go into these playoffs with one hundred percent. Focus these next ten weeks with chip ganassi racing and finishing strong as we can as a group. Lotta of guys still trying to find a job. Find a spot for next year for me. All that settled and trying to be the leader of this group and come out strong and have the best first round that we can at At what i would say. I agree with you guys this. Those first is no joke with darlington richmond and bristow no place to hide. You gotta be fast and listen. I i wanna get to this year. But we'll get to that in a minute. I'm gonna go back to two next year just for a minute because it is. It is big news. This is kurt busch and a new situation. You're building another team. You've gone the different teams in the past and and help them organize and help this then. Bill this team has one year under them their belt. You're also going in there as a driver. Coach mentor leader for bubba wallace and for for their team and for their organization does that put added pressure on you. Because now i'm asking you not only kurt busch to drive a race car and win racist for me. I'm asking you to help me build an organization. Yeah i'm the gratitude and the appreciation that i have for this opportunity. It all really started.

"Tried to make the twenty twenty one playoffs fellas. We're all fired up for the playoffs. Start this weekend. And the cup series at darlington. You ready for the drive down to darlington kyle. I am always ready for the drive. The darling for the ride. I'm a motorcycle. i'm on a motorcycle. Ride the dr okay. Now for the darlington darlington daytona before there was a daytona darlington. Wasn't the place darlington was the place. My granddad spoke of my dad's spoke of as i was growing up. That was the place you had to win. So i always like when they're joining us via technology as you can see dale jarrett zoom. Good to see a dj. And i'll tell you what southern five hundred the start of the playoffs. I mean this is got to be one of the most significant races of the year. Yeah at the playoffs. Start at the right spot. Labor day weekend and app may be the toughest test for driver that you have the entire year each each track present. Something a little different but darlington a is an animal in itself and kala thank. You might agree this there. We've seen spectacular crashes there that that are reminiscent of what you see it places like daytona and talladega when you crash interrupt car so much so other drivers have to be mindful of exactly was there. Plus they've got some new new pavement down over and turn to that should be quite interesting. New payment called the grip strip is what i think about this place. When they first went there they were running. What eighty eight miles an hour ninety miles an hour. I mean that was tied easy to think that was the kids. It's crazy to think that was a top speed and that's what the track was designed for. its two lanes. It's basically two and a half lane car with what and then you put these cars. That are just boggles my mind. They go through one and two and three and four as fast as they do well. Dj certainly knows what he's talking about. The three times darlington winner. Dj so congrats on that boycott. Could they have picked a tougher round one. We were talking about on a conference calls as you look at the race tracks in this around. Me darlington richmond bristol. This all just driver racetracks and i. I think dale mentioned it earlier and this is where the drivers can make a difference. These tracks no matter. Is we go down this list. And we'll talk about this later and we've talked about the speeds. The chevy had than we've talked about this with the toyotas and how they're they're pluses and minuses enforced. This is a place where you've gotta take the driver into account. You have to put up and say okay. That's kyle busch car. I don't care what he's driving he's going to be tough that's denny hamlin in that car. I don't care what he's driving. He's going to be tough. So these are this is around. The drivers will make it out of. I think when we come out of this. I this spree first race. We're going to see who's moving. Who's not yeah to me the problem for a driver if you don't if you haven't ill handling car you can't hide. You can't get out of the way there was nowhere to to maybe try to make up a little something when your car isn't good because you've got cars all around you and the surfaces especially when you look at bristow and darlington richmond. There's a little bit more room but not much and so what you can find yourself a lap down in a hurry and in a lot of trouble and that's not what any the playoff drivers won't so as kp put it. The drivers can make a big difference but if they don't have something to drive then they're in real trouble round wasn't going to be tough no doubt about it. Kurt busch joining us in mere seconds. I though i wanted to get to nascar who has called ends on the pole position. There's always because kyle has a gift look at this now. This is what carl gave.

Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid Denies 'Rift' Exists With Ben Simmons
"On 'em bead fact here. He got upset because there was a story out in the twitter verse today from i guess at the nba central that the reason why simmons is leaving is because there is such a terrible rift between him and embiid that the sixers reportedly pick between the two. We all know mb got the big fat contract. And now simmons is being shown the door and usa. Today is reporting that that's part of the reason and he was very upset about that re tweeted out about how he loves playing with ben stats. Don't lie he's an amazing player. How Does William Byron Prep for the Coke 600?
"So how does william byron prepare for the longest race of the nascar season coming up this weekend. I just hydrate differently. You're more throughout the week. Honestly and i think you know the as far as it goes like effort in the car. I think the six hundred is maybe not the highest effort race because of the way the track is. And you know it's not there's not a ton of bump content or content. Maybe to kind of song wheel. Would i'd say atlanta darlington would be harder so no i don't think physically you do much. I think it you know. Eating and hydrating is a little bit different. Because i feel like throughout the race. You need more fluids and then you also need to kind of eat at some point during the race whether it's energy choose or stuff like that. So and what is william that other race going down this weekend. The indianapolis five hundred. I think as i grown appreciation for racing in general. And as i've as i've learned some of the folks over on our garside with You know the training guys us with pit fit. Jim leo they. They trained scott dixon. And some of those guys up there. And i try to get the end of the race as we get ready for the six hundred. Just kind of varies based on timing. But but yeah. I think it's cool. It's really cool. Data to have both of us
Darlington: Martin Truex Jr. Remains the NASCAR Dominator
"To get your take darlington. Kyle martin tricks junior the winner. Yes only driver with multiple victories in the twenty twenty one season now. Three victories at tracks will play host to the playoff opener. That starling to the round of eight finale. That's martinsville and the championship race phoenix. He's one at all three of those places. So i know twelve races in were third of the way in the season. So it's not too early to make overexuberance yes prediction. Never too early is mark tricks junior. At this point the unquestioned championship favourite mean feels like. Oh yes and i honestly. I've not seen anybody rise to that challenge yet on a consistent basis only on a consistent basis how many years we went through. It's the big to this battle of the titans they'd coming out right and then a couple years ago. It became the big three. You know and now it's the big lebowski. It's the one guy you know what i mean. It is the one guy that's all that's really the first. He's the only guy in the first two races that has raised his hand and said. Hey i'm the gatt come get me come get me so i mean i think he's unquestionably the guy that everybody is shooting at right

Darlington Raceway Throwback Weekend 2021 is on now
"Is darlington throwback weekend where you're going to see paint schemes or vinyl wrap schemes honestly from many eras of nascar racing. The place is called the lady in black the track too tough to tame and drivers race each other instead of the race track. If if i get a good start there towards the end so same at darlington just you're down.

"What advice would you give to them start early and and may be prepared to to be humbled? You know, I think that that's a really difficult thing. But you know, there's so many opportunities Thursday. I came up was much more much more of a traditional journalism school right for the school paper and grind it out and but still I still started my first day of high school. So like I always felt like because of that I had a little bit of a leg up and so if you're young enough to have that opportunity to just start just go home. Again, whether it's Sports reporting or whatever just dig in early and you always have a little bit of a head start but that doesn't preclude people who who don't have the chance to have that Head Start. I think in that regard is still about there like understanding that like, I don't know there's just no shortcuts. Like I remember I covered synchronized swimming at one point for the Gainesville Sun of it. I first meet in college was gymnastics off like it's just not you know, it just doesn't happen. Yeah, like immediately. It's funny synchronized swimming. How do you even unbelievable and I got to I got to the meat and it was dead even know if this story is okay now. For me and it was all these girls and there was this one boy that was doing synchronized swimming. I was like, well, there's a story. Yeah, you know just this whole story about this kid is just kidding what he loved about it. I actually probably would work right now. I just went I just remember interviewing the parents being like, why would you let your kitchen this actually turned out to be like a pretty funny little feature but I think that the lesson there was actually like ago when you walk into a situation like that if you finally find the find the outlier, you know, right through the stories now that worked out for you. I get a lot of the people to come on this podcast off like I did with you just asking on Twitter. Do you have any other tips on how to be able to reach out to people who get them to come do something for you? Yeah. I mean, I think I don't know. It's all about presentation like I mean God. It's really nice tone by yourself. I don't know just like you can always tell when people are doing something for the right reasons of the wrong reasons. I don't know like just people who are you just asking, you know, like you can see a lot of times when people reach out like a young age will reach out and be like how you know, how can I be you in which person was stupid like, you know go on. I mean, I love my job, but it's an awkward thing to ask. Yeah, we do not like I don't know like you can just kind of tell when people are reaching out because they basically want you to give them some connection that will give you you know to the cap but I don't have the keys to the castle. I don't know off right? I just think yeah, I just think saying like I just wanted you know sure some scary story. That's what I do athletes all the time. Like that's you know, it's funny. Like that's one of the things I thought I remembered Antonio Brown when I had gotten a big sit-down with Antonio or do you remember the one where you sit in the chair with the yellow mustache? Oh, yeah, but that was my interview and wage. The way that mean Antonio connected was like Hey, like look, you're from like you're from a really tough place and I feel like people don't understand that like, I feel like people don't understand where you come from home and I think people understood where you came from. They might better understand like why you are the way you are now and and I kind of like wrote that all out to him and have a have a mutual connection and got that his hands and he passed along to Antonio Antonio's like that. That's you know, some people think I'm like close to Antonio like that was just like this sort of like, let's share your story and I think I think that that is that is the case for anybody anybody wants to be kind of scene and down and reveals. Where do they are? All right, Jeff. Thank you so much for coming on the Pod today. Everybody. Go check out Jeff on Twitter handles at Jeff Darlington has his handle also for Instagram. Go check out his great stories, Jeff. Thanks again. Grats on all your success Man Logan Paul, what was reading John? My name's Tom Anderson back home and we've gone Tom Tom. Tom. Tom Tom about it like a sauna. I feel ready to go another night and I feel ready to go another night and just that today that I consider myself not welcome back.

What they're saying: Philadelphia Eagles, Wentz or other teams — who has the leverage?
"All about away. Bought away by the way. The miami dolphins got their guy. I just meant they got us. That dude is they got a guy young guy so let's put some. what are we talking about. Let's put the question. Then this way. And by the way i would say this right now to are coordinating producer. Pete mcconville and our producer. Allie grenade. i don't understand how we do not yet have a feature called jeff saturday. Who's high this week. I mean every week jeff. Hester name that's got to become a tuesday stable. Is this week. We make a segment out of everything on this show but markets very quickly. If the dolphins get forgetting about guam if the dolphins get to shawn watson are they the biggest threat to kansas city in the afc next year. Yeah they are. And i know i say that because i saw were buffalo did. But i'm taking the sean before. I take josh allen and their defense. I'm taking miami. Defense with the sean. Look the inspire football. You play when you have a guy at that position that you know you can't win wit. It takes it to a different level. I love how floor is coaching. But i do think that sometimes going in and out with fits magic and into mayor. Put this team in kabul unknown territory. About what their identity was offensively and the defense never had a question. About what their identity. Would you bring this on. You answer that question. That's our quarterback. Raise the level of play of everybody around you. Oh and yeah let me tell you why. Because he threw for the most yards went out of number one receive on team this year. That's how good he is. Listen this is a no brainer. I would love to see desha watson and josh allen go toe-to-toe for years to come in that division and see who can make it out and then get the kansas city potentially in the afc championship bottom line in miami. They've been trying to find the next dan marino for twenty years. They thought maybe you're still may have him into a tunga vilo but shawn watson is as much more. A known commodity will see if that plays out. Meanwhile quarterback rumors are everywhere including these that the eagles wanna move carson wentz. We know that. What kind of market are they. Finding darlington has the very latest. It could be very interesting. Plus lebron james having another mvp caliber season. You'll hear why jay williams thinks he should win the academy award as well. That's on the way this is get up on. Espn do you own. Read your home share. You and i bet it can be hard work. You know it's easy bundling policies with geico geico makes it easy to bundle your homeowner's or renter's insurance along with your auto policy. It's a good thing too because you already have so much to do around your home. Go to geico dot com. Get a quote and see how much you could save. Its gyco easy visit. Geico dot com. Today that's geico dot com on. We go get up. And another of the quarterback trade sagas continues this one involving that main carson wentz whom league sources believe is on the way out of philadelphia and the eagles may also explore options with his longtime tight. Ends zach ertz. Perhaps philly could include ertz in a wentz package to maximize trade value. Words has one year and eight point. Two five million dollars left on his contract it look. There's a whole lot of speculation in jeff darlington insider here. I'll start with you as to why no deal has been worked out with wentz yet and one of the ways that i look at it from afar is maybe eagles. Just overestimate what it is. People might be willing to give up for wentz at this point when you consider the contract that he has. It's essentially the same circumstance as jared goff in los angeles and the rams had to pay a team to take him off their hands. So is that how similar or those situations and could that be. What's holding this thing up. Well very possible. Greedy speaking with a source with the eagles who certainly understand everything. That's going on with this deal. And you know the one thing that he said. I said what's the holdup here in his answers february sixteenth. Today lear doesn't even start for another month by a bunch of exclamation points and there is something certainly to that. March nineteenth is the date that they'd have to decide on paying him. That ten million dollar rostov on this. This is the runway that they're working with now. Of course you do want to make sure that you make the most of your leverage multiple teams involved. You don't wanna lose one of those teams and then Maybe cost yourself some compensation from that other team but we can point out here that This this source also told me that there is no no trade clause in carson wentz deal so it doesn't really matter say he wants to go to the colts but they're getting more compensation from the bears. They could just send him to the bears. It wouldn't be a problem

Catch Chevy for our CR tyler. Rettig straight off of what seventh-place good rundown demand by last lap. Air Jones had a problem there and was right on my tail and he was about to get that position from me but had to fight hard those last few laps and was able to close it out with some place. Finish dollar your fast all day long. And you know what? What was it about your car? Were you surprised at how good it was? And where do you think you were the strongest? And how are you able to get you know? Drive yourself up through the field. You had to pass a lot of cars all day long. Yeah I made a few mistakes on the first start and really didn't pass anybody and then after the second start that we had there I I really didn't get going at all. I was probably further back than what I started. And then all of a sudden I just start rolling the top one into pretty good runs close to the fence before it really got rub it in and we hope to make a lot of time up there but Yeah it was a tough day. I mean we just finally got tradition in the top five caught. Peace that Louis New Banner and We tried to fix that and get that off the car we had a control. Tyre and all the way back to twenty three. Start of the day add. Add to come to the front again or try to Best we got with seven so tyler junior. Now we're talking during the race about your line you and how you just mentioned it. Run highlight and wanted to a lot of people. Run the high line in the middle of the. You're running it on the exit until you actually use a lot of racetrack up kind of no man's land if if you got two or three inches too far out you're gonNA hit the wall. How are you so confident to run up there at such a young age? Well Great Valentine's in the simulator? We tire out of the tires. It Brad Miller of it actually didn't slow the car down that much and it actually felt really really good. I was really surprised that even worked in the simulator and obviously we all know de Hamlin makes a credible amount of time even more inexpensive expanding cars than than a cup car but with today star fall off that we saw that line came into play really early and I was almost scared like what Danny likes joke about is. I don't want to use it too much and show my hand but it was so Dang fast at times that it was it was it was hard not to run in it but we definitely for sure about halfway through the race made a few wrong adjustments and it allowed everybody else to catch up to us but I mean I got braces Darlington race. That long it's going to change more than I've ever experienced there an xfinity car so that was. It was definitely a challenge today.
