"They've been abysmal when he's been off the four but i mean i've talked about some of the limitations that group for and so that led to me wanting to dive deeper into like how. How is it really looking. How is it going. And so i mean the easy thing to point to share shooting thirty percent from three but but for me the bigger forces in terms of his individual efficiency which is only a part of this overall story. That will tell is that she's getting to the line. More about seven threes per thirty six minutes and making fifty five percent of his twos. And you and. I have started getting more into that. It's being away a real way for guards in particular to up. Their efficiency is by doing better on tuesday. I can be getting more on the basket that can be making more midrangers and that doesn't seem unsustainable to me when as he's finishing better around the rim but he's been better mid range shooter or at least a more effective one in other years so it's fair fair game to say that that will continue. I think the bet is get to the line. More is fantastic And if you are a guard it's almost impossible to be efficient if you're not hitting threes and you're not getting to the foul line and he's doing both of those Which is a fantastic. Also has a solid midrange game as well. What is the play breakdown. Looked like a for him so far here and it's a it's roll. Numbers have been also looked at some of that as well. Okay yeah i mean so shea pick and roll pick and roll ball handler in terms of scoring. That's a little under half of his possession so far and shay has been absolutely excellent on that overall over a point per possession. Remember those are all half court possessions. That's really really good. And the number. That sticks out. Though i did some rudimentary math on it on those shakes the ball to the basket. Forty three percent of the time and that's number by the way that that is a lot more than you see for from scarves and scores one point five points per possession as an individual score on those also has plenty of plenty of good assist on that. That's insane that's a really really good rate. They do have the benefit of some force basing bigs they must gol an horford so sometimes sh just zander's facing less resistance but he's still doing an incredible job been very efficient and transition doing well on Jumpers off the pick and roll up over a little bit over point per possession there but remember that doesn't include turnovers and everything else And then so. I watched them film and i watched a lot of pick and rolls passes and shots lake and what stood out to me now. Senator is not. He's not the insane like off the dribble shooter for threes. Like somebody like steph curry damian lillard of course but he actually the guy i mean it different set of tools but the thing that impressed me the most was his patients and so he would the mix of patients and aggressiveness. And i'm not saying the same player but like i. There were times when i kind of thought of the his his execution of little bit like a young dj augustine. I mean chase very very different physical tools and the sense of knowing what advantage you have so when shea had it seem to the basket he took damn near every time. But if he didn't have it you know he'd string it along a little bit. Try to find somebody open for a pass. Try to do something else and a water times one young guards getting into trouble and pick and roll. It's because they're trying to do too much or there know what they're gonna do before the play starts and they're not adapting to the circumstances on the ground and maybe the strongest praise i can give. Joe goes alexander is that he did that extremely rarely well. And we've talked about this for a while that when you have young guard having floorspace bigs either the pick and pop or just to space. The flora can be a great way to help their development and shave. Game is perfect for playing with a floor spacing big because as you talked about. He's gonna probe he's going to. He's not going to just get off the ball to get off the ball particularly on this team. And there's not really what else that to pass it to. Unless they're open and so he's going to continue to pro- he's going to change speeds and it's so hard for the big defender in the pick and roll to deal with because you constantly have in your head. I gotta get back to my man. I got back my man. He's at the three point line. When can i leave when he can. I leaving chakwal just alexander. If you leave. He's so good at manipulating the pick and roll like his defender isn't going to be able to get back in front of him once he gets the initial advantage and so he's just kind of holding the big there you can sit up pick and pop shots or spot up search for the big or if the big like i. It's under control. i can get back. No actually it's not under control. And so he's just able to extend that moment of indecision for the opposing big in a way. That must be very frustrating. Yeah it has to be and okay. Has this amazing cadre. A of draft picks and assets moving forward and in future episodes will take more time thinking about guys like darius paisley and hollow and how how they're fitting into okay sees president future but shape. The early returns are incredibly strong stronger than i ever expected. Really an the. I'm sure many will credited to he played with chris. Paul or and and the coaching staff. I think has done a very good job with him but however it happened. He's turning into quite the quite the young player and you've talked about how some of the circumstances are favorable. But i mean you think about the overall talent level this team and how a lot of guys haven't been available like i've been incredibly impressed. I what are the top line numbers for the minnesota timberwolves. Oh boy So minnesota overall now for the season seven and twenty three.

"Whisky and Katie windy with you hear from Baal Arena tonight or halftime. The Nuggets lead the Oklahoma City's thunder 65 52, Kenny, Anything another seemed to improve on here in the second half in order to make sure they get this win. Can I just point out a couple things that they did extremely well? Yeah. There you go. They've done a lot of them. 16 points off of 10 of the thunders turnovers. I just have that 13 offensive rebounds and they have scored. 26 points off of those 13 offensive rebounds. And I want to talk about the jazz game disperse that because this was an area that the Nuggets really wanted to clean up in that jazz game. The Nuggets had 23 old boards in the entire games that they finished for 14 2nd Chance points, so there were six of 22. In there. Put back attempts tonight. They already have 26 2nd chance points of the 13 oak boards. Amazing. Wanna weaken doing the MBA, right? Yes, it's thunder basketball to begin the third quarter. They turn it over. Millsap. Hands of the other way. Denver moves right to love You. Okay? Check. Got rid of Robie drives in on him. Leans in right and hook shot. No good if his own missing had another one to the list. Let's see that by 15 boys their big lead of the night. Alexander has it on the high right side over to George Hill. He throws it off. The Robi will be behind the three point line left side back over to George Hill. I picked Roby. The reason Bourne left side over toe. Hands. Girls. It download knocked out of bounds last touched by Robie and out of bounds. Denver basketball coming back the other way, way, And here comes tomorrow. Marine, other leading by 15 points. You're very hasn't of the mid course circle. All struggles shooting the basketball in the first half. Just two of 10. No kids, hands it out over the will Barton Barton back over the Joker in a three There's no good time. That was before Jamal Chuck to shooting stuff, though. Something special? Yeah. Totally different to Barbary Court, right to the rack stripped out of his hands, but a foul on Paul Millsap on lukins way. Just talk about how relatable that is, too Like when you try something new and you're like it impacts you in a way That isn't the way you want it to like football shooting that way. The first half was like No, I'm not having anymore. It's funny that a one ounce piece of cloth gets in your head. And you think that I gotta quit wearing the sweatband? I know what I mean. You think about it like it's something different and you're wearing it, And it just makes you think about the injury. Maybe a little bit more. It just isn't like this tiny little thing that could throw you off. Second free throw by Dort goes up it in. And the Nuggets leaders of 14 67 53. Here comes Jamal Murray. As in the mid court circles, shovel pass on the high left side over the mill set. Millsap, Boston on the elbow to Nicole Yokich against Roby. He goes the first side kick out from the corner of street by Harris. That was off the back. No good. Rebound down together back over the Barton in the three that was no good rebound, tapped and grabbed by looking inside Jordan. Jordan hasn't across the time work. There's the I picked their from Roby. He'll take a three That was no good rebound comes down to Paul Millsap. Millsap has it up the right sideline. He tries it on Alexander. That's a mismatch. Bank shots No good rebound down to Robi Robi has in the front. Adored back behind him over the Alexander Alexander better out there by Paul No sounds. He flopped for a call and got rewarded. That'll be a foul on palm, Ilsa, and that's just Alexander. Right. They're taking advantage of a mismatch to you recognized that Paul was on try to take it hard to the basket. That's a third foul on Paul Millsap and free throws coming up here for S G. A U free throw number one is up it in. He was just Kentucky six. Highest Rated recruit number 30 nationally Back in 2017. It was recruited behind. Kevin Knocks. Jared Vanderbilt PJ Washington. League, Richards and quite green as well. Azzaman do theology. He was even lower among this higher rate of players. And last year my reporter junior Missouri Three pointers on the way by Milson when that was up in in Gerry's giggling Adam because he kind of lost the ball was gonna hand it off to call in the quarter and even that trade 16 point lead here for Denver door as a top of the key. Action. Go, Roby throws back behind him over to Darius Paisley. Paisley backs up Takes a three pointer over joker that one short rebound down to Robi Robi attacks the rim on Millsap, Riverside, Leia, Pogo. Loose ball comes down. Paul Millsap from Port ST Lucie Harris Riverside Layup Block Here. He got it back, throws it out on top. The mil sap In three short, no good rebound, joker habit tried to save him from going out of bounds. He stepped out about that was a great full court Pastor Paul Millsap up to Gary. To what do you see him? Finish them. Here comes Alexandre. Three minutes had gone by already in the third quarter. He throws it on the high left side over the door, he turns the corner drives down the lane on Yokich Lay up is up and in Holyoke a chance of the other way for Denver. Not gonna see that by 14 points. He's on the elbow. They let him go. He leans in lap us up, and then nobody stopped him. Good. Can anybody? Well, I mean, at least get in front of them. I don't know that matters at this 0.23 already for Yokich. Time out thunders, the Nuggets push the lead up.

"I'm getting a little too deep here but just like I'm thinking like the raptors problem may well, who cares never mind let's move on. Like what would we be saying about the raptors if doesn't make shop, maybe the rappers get swept by the Celtics maybe the narratives about like. I just the way they've to talk saying, blow him up your. It was all why he just carried them. He carried these trash bombs to a title. Yeah. It's up but then you look at last year you could sorta say the same thing about quiet shot following sixers. But if that doesn't fall, maybe you blow the rappers I don't know are you saying Martinez? Shots. Shots. That checks out. All right. My number sue is I'm not ready to I'm not ready to get to encored moments yet I don't think I'm sorry I said steal that one because I don't. Know I. I have a lot of encore moments. My big board here but I I'm still. I I gotta go number two with the Shotgun Beers battle between Meyers. Leonard. Jj. Redick and others the this was early on the NBA players arrive at the bubble. It's it. There's a lot of. Questions as like what the Hell is going on with these guys, what are they up to? What what what, what is, what is the bubble here bubble but what does that mean? What does that look like? What are the guy? What's the day to day look like an Meyers Leonard like you and he shotguns cores light was was he I was jj I I think it was Myers. Yeah and then yeah, I think it went from there. Anyway. It became a thing for like three days. Guys were shot Gunning Beers left and right and then there's this was before the game actually started. This is to call the bubble bliss period where all the guys got inside the bubble they were entrenched in the idea of Disney's magic. They were all like this is fun I'm by the Pool Fishing Yeah I'm show there on. Your vacation and it turned to work around mid August of your there during this period of time everyone like Jj's doing a podcast. He's like I just lost her podcast network like he's in the middle of a bubble experience. It was great. It was this beautiful happy time. It was the summertime remembered fondly what a period but Meyers Leonard probably one this outright. Yeah. He did. He proved he was like central Illinois everyone's like that. Guy. He definitely one I think I think he's shut it down. I don't think he did go I I think southern L. But I don't think Jj went I either got out somebody I think I think someone else went I. I forget who it was. But it doesn't matter. It was the whole shock anything because I remember Meyers. Leonard Meyers Leonard did the did you over the head he did over their head in that room I think his was a response to someone else your and then he's he killed his and then at that point I think it's shutdown JJ. Feels like three years ago. That's never. Go. Well, that's a good segue into my number three pick I'm going to get back off the basketball court and go to a man by the name. Well, I'm GonNa go bags something that we know wellness program but I'm talking cornhole this time and I'm talking about Chris. Paul. Chris Paul. Played cornhole was shade Alexander and Darius Paisley too young guys and he basically zone video their master up. This is early on in quarantine he beats them he rubs it in their face. He lets them know that he is the bad guy, the back champion and then later on I mean in that I think it was the same day maybe even he goes on to hit the shot in overtime over Austin rivers at sea hit a big three that game into overtime. So just that day span, you're probably GonNa say this too expansive but the Chris Paul Court, whole experience leading into the big shots that he makes games with those same said players that is number three draft pick. For bubble experience because the the. The competitive nature that they they created by throwing bags together. Chris Boston. This is how you win and then he executed on the basketball floor it was all one to one in one experience. So the CPA three experience is my number three pick that's what I would say. Be Three. Chris Paul Cornhole. All. Leading, into the shadow over Austin rivers specifically and the assist to sea in the corner for three that led to overtime. And the. Game seven against the rockets arguing with the refs and. This EP three experience, but specifically these to these two passes and sh one sh one shot one pass. And few a few cornhole tosses and to bring it back to buyers Leonard. As soon as they posted this cornhole game espn did this is back in whenever July or June whatever I guess it had to be July eight when they got there. I guess. So in July Meyers Leonard. Responded was like challenge anybody to bags and just like Meyers? Leonard was there for the game I think Meyers Leonard had. WHO's better games? Tyler Zeller Meyers Leonard because those guys came down there to play I can't believe. We haven't had this discussion yet who had the most fun in the bubble. We we should have come up with that Taco our. Guys who had the time of their lives Mars later, by every time, they showed him on 'cause he talked Taco fall did have fun. But toggle fall did not go to the NBA finals. Meyers. Leonard. Is on MBA finals team every time they cut him on the bench he's he's. He's like Tom Crean stance on the sideline like clapping. It's hard again anyway. That was your third pick. Are you took Chris Paul's entire career as? crispell. Drastic Chris for. All of Chris. OFF Your number three pick. All right. My number three, I gotta I gotta I gotTa Start Sprinkle on its basketball some actual basketball here because I got I get Louis we'll get wings beers. All right I'm GONNA go with. The. I think discounts. This exp if you're going to do. Chris. Paul, entire run and I'm doing the Jamal Murray versus Donald Mitchell rivalry. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. The one to was that series yeah. The nuggets but specifically, those guys not the series, those two guys going motto motto joe-marie in this series average is thirty one points six points six point three assists five point, six rebounds he shoots fifty five percent from the field issues fifty, three percent from. The three point line he has games where scores fifty points one of the best series just that specific series from Jamaica Murray was one of the best series that any player put forth in these playoffs and he might have been the second best player in this series because Donovan Mitchell ever thirty six game five assists five rebounds also shot like fifty and fifty from.

Alexander didn't see it. No argument, no barking from any of the players, but we'll keep our eyes on Steven Adam. That's the seventh turnover. We checked the records for offensive turnovers in the first quarter Rivers catching Shoot three from the corner is a miss tip by Noel but in the lane picked up by Covington turns Usted offensive rebound green. Jeff Green sticks it in. Not a lot of Biggs on the floor for either team. Basseley one dribble up top back to shrewder 70 shoot Dennis jabbing with the right step cuts to the left down the lane. Passing the corner. Chris Paul. Tough Angle three. No good. Russell against router, backs him into the mid post knocks down no call and lays it up off the glass in what is sure is barking it, pat friend. Bad angle for us. We were looking right into the play. I thought it was charged to more former teammates. It is 27 20 lead for Houston. Basseley drives baseline left, flips it over to the right wing. The guiltiest Alexander cut off on the baseline. "All right. Let's get to sports this morning on Oklahoma's versions, high rain at all the talk and rumors of big grabbed night trade, the thunder, pined shed salary and ready to deal way players Stephen Adams Schreuder on Ray Robertson, and others. When it came time for the thunder to pick it number twenty one none of that happened. They instead made a small deal dropped back a couple of spots, and then drafted a guy who didn't even play organized basketball last season. Former high school star Darius paisley from Ohio a five star player. A McDonald's all American a kid, who had committed to Syracuse, but then decided to go pro and try to make the G league roster with someone then he signed with clutch sports got an endorsement deal with new balance plus an internship that you. He worked out for several teams in the third apparently, like what they saw, though, GM Sam prestige, since there was a trade involved could not directly talk about Bazeley just the. Teams general wrath philosophy were we looking to create value organization and get the most value from the opportunities that we have to pick. And, you know, I think we've also shown like different points in time to take a long view and keep yourself the most opportunity to have the most success. But everyone is different. And we try to just go off the board. And in in take the next player that's there. And apparently that was Bazeley though there were other players who seem more NBA ready, who were still available as to Bazeley. Here's what ESPN's Jay Bilas had to say about it. Six nine he Israel, Finn very fluid only weighs about two hundred ten pounds. We got a very good handle. You can attack ram good athleticism. So he's got some potential. And that's what he's being drafted upon potential. Of course, that really doesn't help much right now a team that's still lacks enough quality three point shooting pressing was asked about that during his early early morning news conference after the draft and some of that improvement, he says, we'll have to come from guys currently on the team, we're gonna need some internal growth and internal development just based on where we are in what available resources and tools. We have the team building standpoint, and we'll certainly have some opportunities to have conversations with people after July first about how they may be able to round up the group. But nothing's really changed between the last time, we visited, and now Rosa just, you know, our ability to take some strides, internally, it's going to be really important thunder paid more than sixty million dollars in luxury taxes after this past season. More than any other team in the NBA and they will have. A huge tax Bill after this coming season to unless changes are made and Presley said, finances Bara bit of a concern at some point where we are right now. We're not going to be able to sustain that over a really long period of time and we're certainly gonna look at ways that we can fill the best team possibly can..

"Hoop or shoot from outside is so syracuse in two thousand eighteen is looking like it could be a very good team but it doesn't and right there you still gotta go out and did some other pieces so how help should be on the way you think paisley probably out trying to recruit some guys as well to join them again he di committed from ohio state back in april so that was a big law loss for the buck is but this issue coaching staff goes out goes up against some of the best schools in the nation to sway him away and emmy he beat out schools like marylin purdue indiana even from the own acc louisville that's something that jim behind at as kinda struggled with recently e most notably jordan tucker going to duke on you look at him losing out on guys to kentucky villanova was wider so it's been a rough go but now that jim bay harm has the timetable set in place you figure that with recruits no he's going to be around for a little while he'll be able to draw in some more guys and that's really help out this orange team moving four you're listening to the radio on the score twelve sixty tyler ocoee with you until ten o'clock on this saturday morning and we're going to talk to bay heinz army gm cabin shelby coming up in just a little bit alsumait dickinson later in the show wrap things up with this feedback but right now we're talking the big news of the week darius paisley joining the orange for the class of two thousand eighteen and here's an interesting thing i read about bazeley so he's from ohio cincinnati area and he plays his a eu ball on the nike eu ibl circuit with mean streets which is a chicagobased team some of their alumni are all off the charts nba talents derek rose air accord and tyler ulis and then the biggest name overall of them anthony davis and i mean anthony davis was a guy who syracuse was.
